Conservative Judaism Vs Liberal Judaism
One basic belief of Judaism is the belief in one god who is responsible for the creation of the
universe, and who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. Another belief that Jews hold,
which is somewhat unique among monotheistic religions is the belief that god does not have a
body. This means god is neither male nor female, which can make godmore relatable. Jews also
strongly believe that god listens to every person, and is interested in every person. Attached to this
belief is the belief that god speaks to humans, sometimes in ways one would not expect.

than practically every other religion. Judaism does not seek to convert people ... Show more content

I shall begin with the points of congruence (of which there are few). Both segments are
unorganized, and do not have a centralized religious authority at their core. In fact, the term
orthodox is an umbrella that encompasses many different orthodox movements within Judaism.
Liberal Judaism shares this lack of monolithic movement or philosophy, with all congregation
being independent. This creates a diversity within these two particular sects that is richer than in
other strands of Judaism. Found within both Orthodox Judaism and Liberal Judaism is a
disapproval of interreligious marriage. Orthodox Judaism is outspoken and very explicitly in
opposition to interreligious marriage. While it takes a more low key approach to the question,
Liberal Judaism shares this view. As an example, Liberal rabbis in the United Kingdom do not
conduct mixed marriages. The final case of similarity between Liberal Judaism and Orthodox
Judaism is their mutual celebration of religious holidays. Those of the Liberal Jewish persuasion
observe the same Jewish festivals and celebration as Orthodox Jews. While Liberal Judaism does
stray from Orthodox Judaism in regards to theology and some liturgy it is important to recognize
that they celebrate the same holidays and retain many of the same rituals as

Children s Socialization And Control Of Children Before...
1.What role did the family play in the socialization and control of children before the 1800s?
During the Middle Ages and through the 1500s and 1600s, the family served as the primary unit
of social control. Within the family, power was typically vested in the father, and the mother and
the children were expected to obey his commands. However, the nuclear family of today was
relatively rare in the middle ages. Rather, a typical family consisted of an extended group of related
people and other individuals who were not related. The father, particularly if he was a merchant,
might spend considerable time away from the home. High mortality rates meant that either parent
might have died and been replaced by a stepparent. In addition, servants, apprentices, and
journeymen sometimes lived in the household, and neighbors were often present. Consequently,
childrenwere exposed to a large number of adults who played a role in their socialization and
control.
2.What role did children play in the colonization of the New World? Children were counted on to
play an important role in the expansion of European influence and became an integral part of
plans to colonize the New World. Indeed, for some people, the colonization of the New World
was viewed as an opportunity for children to be involved in productive work. Merchants saw
children as potential providers of the labor that would be needed to produce the many goods
necessary for survival in the colonies. Some people felt that work was

China s Aging Population And The Hukou System
The selection of blog entries is an important process involving the need to thoroughly take into
account the subject topic and accordingly carry out the review of the topic. The blogs are means
to represent the idea in brief in order to make it clear for understanding by the reader. The blog
should not be formed of complex set of words, which are tough to understand by the reader.
Instead, the precise description in an easy language should be carried out in order to benefit the
reader by adding to their knowledge. Thus, two blogs have been written here titled as China s aging
population, and The Hukou system . Each of these has been described in the context of the topic so
as to make them clear and precise enough to the reader.
The blog titled China s aging population describes how the increase in population is a growing
concern for the country. The reason for selection of this topic is to explore how the increase in
aged population of China is causing an impact on the country s economic system. The increase
in population is a serious issue of concern, which is well controlled by the government through
introducing one child policy (Peilin, 2015). This parameter has however resulted into several
side effects such as increase in aged people in the country. As a result of this, the expenses
associated with elderly people is also increasing, which is an interesting area focused in the blog. It
was rather a good choice of topic as it helped in exploring how the increase

Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia is a genetic disease that is portrayed by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and
tenderness in localized areas. Fibromyalgia is when there is pain throughout the whole body. Being
diagnosed with fibromyalgia can be a big life changer! Some of the reasons why this is a life
changing disease are symptoms of fibromyalgia, how it is inherited, the type of mutation, the
protein that is affected, the chromosome number, and treatment for fibromyalgia.
The chromosome that fibromyalgia affects is chromosome number one. Number one chromosome
has 1,200 to 1,300 genes that provide instructions for making proteins. These proteins perform a ...

Santa Wishes For Dying Tennessee Boy
Santa Grants Wish for Dying Tennessee Boy Santa is known for his gift and wish granting
abilities. Over the years, countless children have had wishes granted by the Jolly Elf. But, none
of those wishes are as powerful as the one professional Santa portrayer Eric Schmitt Matzen was
able to grant for a young, terminally ill child in Tennessee. The gift started when Schmitt Matzen
received a call from a nurse at the local hospital. She informed him that there was a very sick 5
year old who wanted to see Santa. Naturally, the good hearted man headed straight to the hospital
to see the boy. Sadly, the boy only had a little longer to live and this would be the last time he
would have the chance to see Santa. After rushing to the hospital, Schmitt Matzen

Essay about Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
The cardiovascular system is the most important system in our body. This system is what keeps
us alive. Beating on average 30 billion times a year, our heart is never able to stop and take a
break. With every beat of our heart, the cardiovascular system moves blood, gases, nutrients, and
hormones throughout the intricate vasculature of our bodies. An adult body contains over 60,000
miles of vessels, which can wrap around the world two and a half times. The vessel branching off
of the heart is largest artery in our body and is known as the aorta. The aorta supplies oxygenated
blood to our body. The aorta runs along the midline of our body and has many other vessels that
stem from it to deliver the blood to a specific location. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Elastic tissue is very strong. The adventitia is the outermost layer. It is made of collagen and
nourishes the wall with vasa vasorum.
An aneurysm is a widening or ballooning of a vessel. It is caused by weakness in the aortic wall.
In the aortic wall, the media is mostly affected because it is the thickest. There are instances
where dilation of the wall can occur, but to the outermost layer and this is not a typical aneurysm.
It is known as a false aneurysm or a pseudoaneurysm. When the outermost layer is dilated, often
times the inner or medial wall will rupture, but the outer wall will still be intact. The extracellular
matrix proteins degenerate and the inflammatory T cells are present. The collagen and elastin
dissolve and disintegrate which will lead to an expansion of the aortic wall. If the pressure in the
vessel is too great, the aortic wall will rupture. An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a ballooning or
dilating of the abdominal aorta. An aneurysm is diagnosed when the diameter of the vessel is
greater than 50% of its original diameter. The aorta is normally two centimeters in diameter at
the level or the renal arteries. An aneurysm is named based off of their location, size and shape.
An aneurysm will affect how the vessel is shaped, therefore causing the blood flow to alter. When
an aneurysm is symmetrical on both sides of the aortic wall it is called fusiform; but if only one
side of the wall is dilated, it is saccular. Aneurysms

The aim of the current paper is to review and summarize recent research on the human MNS,
asserting that this system may provide the neural scaffold for empathy and, as a result, may have
served as a biological substrate for the evolution of our sophisticated sociality and the morality that
governs it. Section 1 serves as the general introduction, Section 1.1 discusses neuroimaging
evidence in support of the human MNS; Section 1.2 highlights the role of the MNS in
understanding the intentions of others; Section 2 discusses a form of empathy termed emotional
empathy , that is the feeling of other s feelings, putatively through a resonance mechanism
implemented by the human MNS; Section 2.1 discusses the relationship between
emotional empathy and cognitive empathy a form of mentalizing that relies on higher level
cognitive processes; Section
3 discusses developmental evidence on social evaluation and empathy for pain; Section 4 aims to
link action perception to morality, using emotional empathy and social evaluation as stepping
stones, and Section 5 concludes.

her beautiful singing voice. In the end, Eric kills Ursula and Ariel and Eric get married. When

Temperate Deciduous Forests Research Paper
Temperate Deciduous Forests are located in the north eastern[21] half of America, [22] middle
of Europe, many places in Asia, and southwest Russia. They have a decent [23] amount or
precipitation at about 30 to 60 inches of rainfall a year. [24] Making it the second rainiest biome in
the world. They [25] also have a mild climate with ranges of 40 to 70 degrees. Ohio is part if the
north eastern [26] half of America so this is the biome we live in as well. It is also home to many
different plantand animal species because it is all over the world.
The Snowy Owl is one of many bird spices [27] in the temperate deciduous forest. It s about 6lbs,
26in long, and has a wing span of 4.7 to 5.4in long[28] . They feed on mostly smaller animals and
birds. They also get their name from the color of their feathers. Their feathers are also one of
their adaptations. With the white and somewhat grey color of their feathers [29] blending in
with the snow of America s winters and the snowy areas of Russia is very easy for them. Another
adaptation is that unlike some birds these owls will occasionally nest in the ground. They will dig
in the side of a hill or ridge and use frozen moss and the snow to keep it hidden from any
predators.[210] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

active at night. They do hunt and play during the day but do most of it when it has become dark,
with this they have also developed good night vision. Another helpful adaptation they have is that
they can hear a very large range of frequencies. This helps them hear if there is rodents or other

A Young Man s Folly Short Summary
Sadly, not all marriages have good endings. This could be caused by several reasons, such as
falling out of love, neglect, or lack of communication. The latter is the main cause of the short
story A Young Man s Folly by Susan Michalicka. The story revolves around a modern family,
where a boy tries to deal with the loss of his father leaving him. Michalicka conveys the message
of: Sometimes when you re chasing something, you lose sight of what is really important very well
through the use of conflict, characterization and symbolism.
Conflict was used effectively in the short story to reveal the theme of the story. The boy has an
internal conflict about which parent to stay with, and because his father left, he seemed to have
favored him. He wanted him back so badly that every night, he watches him on the six o clock
news while wearing his old jackets. He was blinded by his father s sudden departure that he forgot
about what is really important. Additionally, another development in the short story s conflict has
been used effectively to reveal the theme. When the boy went to Macdonald s to see his father s
true colors, he thought: I finished my drink quickly, thankful that he had to be back in the studio
for the news. By the time he saw his dad for the first time in a while, he knew he was not the man
he thought he was. At that moment, he also realized that he lost sight of what he had all this time:
His mother s unconditional love. If it wasn t for the characterization of

Write An Essay On Genotypes And Phenotypes
There are no two individuals that are completely alike, people vary by hair color, height, skin
tone, gender and other endless possibilities. The reason for these variations can be traced back to
our genetic make up. A person as 23 pairs of chromosomes and each of these chromosomes carry
one molecule of DNA. DNA itself is made up of adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine, then,
these chemical compounds wrap around each other to form a double helix. These chromosomes
contain around 20,500 genes and even with such a large number our variations are caused by less
than 1% of our genes according to the Human Genomes Project in 2003. These variations also
come from genotypes and phenotypes. A genotype is the complete set of genes that make a person
s hereditary, whereas, a phenotype are psychological, behavioral, and psychological features that
result from the interaction between genes and the environment. Phenotypes can be both dominant
and recessive. The dominant phenotype is the one that the you possess whereas the recessive one

The Revolution Of The 1960 S
The Young in the 1960 s
Many people believe the 1960s, were the golden age but, contrary, by the end of the decade, it
seemed like the The United States was falling apart. That could be one of the reason why
different groups were growing with new ideas, demands and of course many reforms. Student
activists became more and more radical. They protested over colleges, massive antiwar
demonstrations and occupied various public places to make their revolutionary ideas visible and
to be heard. In 1960s, the new radicalism took place. New groups of students became to gather,
such as the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) and Students for a Democratic Society (SDS)
two years later. Both groups were viewed as the leading edge of a new radicalism. These group
believed they had a new route to greater freedom. The students documented and summarized their
beliefs and what some called the New Left. They believed the participatory democracy was the real
social change. By the mid 1960s, facing growing opposition among the young to the war in
Vietnam, they were viewed as a rebellion force. They became more militant and active in social
issues and politics. Some demonstrations were violent and even people died. The young group
became a strong force in The United Stated and, also other countries. Also, changed their physical
appearance by growing their hair, used drugs and, practice free love. In the beginning of the 1960 s
these small groups of student started to emerged and rapidly

Herod The Great Influence
During the time period leading up to and following the birth of Jesus, Herod the Great was the
ruler in Judea. An Edomite by birth whose family had converted to Judaism, Herod was
appointed as King by Augustus Caesar. Herod the Great was born in 73 BC and reigned from 37
BC to 4 BC. The kingdom under Herod was very oppressed. He ruled as a tyrant, imposing
dreadful and demoralizing taxes on his people, and severely punishing those who could not pay.
Perhaps one of the most notable examples of his ruthlessness, was the murder of his own wife and
sons whom he feared where plotting against him. During his reign, he successfully undertook many
building projects, the most well known of which is probably the development of the Port of

Alfred Hitchcock s Vertigo
Often times, throughout many of Alfred Hitchcock films, I find myself very intrigued to the
development of how the story unfolds. The difference between Vertigo (1958) and the other films
that we have watched, is that this film has more unanswered questions and a darker meaning.
Personally, I did not really like how the story of Vertigo was filmed. And of course this is just my
own opinion, which can be argued based on your own experience with the film. For instance,
throughout the majority of the film, all we see is John Scottie Ferguson (James Stewart), follow
Madeleine Elster (Kim Novak) all around the San Francisco area. For me this repetitive act of
scenes caused me to unconsciously drift away. Although, I did enjoy the pure cinema... Show more

Some of the major forms of experimentation that I noticed throughout the film was in the lighting,
camera shots, and movement. A perfect example where Hitchcock experimented with
cinematography of lighting within a scene was inside the Empire hotel. Hitchcock really played a
lot with the colors of the neon light coming into Judy Barton s (Kim Novak) hotel room. A more
specific scene of his intense use of lighting was when Scottie transforms Judy into Madeleine. In
fact, Alfred Hitchcock, really felt that the lighting was very important aspect that helped shape
the meaning of the scene. According to Vertigo s screenwriter, Samuel Taylor, he mentioned that
Hitchcock never really liked to see the story in a full view. Instead Hitchcock was more focused
on viewing each scene like a mosaic. In order to view the full story, he believed he had to first
complete each part of the mosaic. Hitchcock creates each scene as a form of artwork. As seen in
several scenes throughout Vertigo, we clearly see how he creates scenes by focusing on every
aspect of cinematography to tell a deeper sinister narrative through each characters. An exaggerated
and personally one of my favorite scenes within Vertigo s cinematography was based on the
lighting and special effects used in Scotty s nightmare scene. I can imagine how

Mary Wigman
Isadora Duncan and Mary Wigman both started with the same idea of dancing, and how they should
incorporate human movement instead of ballet that was more unnatural to the body. Even though
they had a similar thought about modern dance, they had one thing that made them very different,
which was their choreography. Duncan pieces were lively and upbeat, and Wigmans were dark and
mysterious. They both approached modern dancethrough a different eye. Even if they lived in two
different parts of the world, The American, as represented by Isadora Duncan, and the German, as
represented by Mary Wigman, (Cass 247), the world would then get two different choreographers
that were evolving at the same time in history, which impacted the dance history.... Show more

She was down rooted to the earth; dark images, death, witches, and war inspired her. She used
heavy and tense percussion or silence. A few of her choreographies got the chance to be filmed,
her dances looked as if it was improvisational but her pieces were set and stone and made up
before performed. One of the works that basically describes Wigman as a whole is the Witches
Dance Its a burlesque play of bodies, limbs, and heads. At first a crowded, tangled heap, it starts
vibrating slowly in ever increasing elastic and shaking movements, dissolves and darts out to the
floor in somersaults and grotesque jumps... The demon in the human who had worn a tragic
mask in so many of Mary Wigman s dances now wore a comical mask, as if his dark and
dangerous power had been conquered, (Stewart and Armitage 13 14). Once you go in deeper
into why Wigmans pieces are so different compared to Duncan you start looking at the bigger
picture of how Germany was doing at the time, with the whole World War I (1914 1918) and the
beginning of Hitler s upraise in the 1930 s leading to World War II (1939 1945) this was all during
the time frame of Wigmans life. Knowing that these two important figures both created dances and
created a new thing at the time called modern makes them quite extraordinary, because they both
loved modern dancing, they both created a living off of it, yet they were in different parts

Examples Of Political Allegory In Animal Farm
Animal farm is a book that most people have read at least once in their lifetime. Some people
might have read the book at young age, others might have read the novella as a teenager, and
some people might have read the novella grown up. Animal farm is a novella that can be
enjoyed at every age, but it is likely that the book is interpreted differently. While Animal Farm
may at a first glance appear to be a children s book, the novella is in fact an effective political
allegory. Main body paragraph 1 Tsar Nicholas II is in animal farm represented by the human
Mr. Jones. Mr. Jones both thinks and acts very similarly to the former Tsar Nicholas II. Like Tsar

During the second and third months of pregnancy when the fetus is between 1 and 3 ВЅ inches in

How Did Louis Armstrong Changed Jazz Music
Louis Armstrong: The Icon that Forever Changed Jazz Music
Jazz was a genre of music that originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Of all the
talented jazz musicians, one of the most famous and recognized is Louis Armstrong. Seldom do
people think of jazz without Armstrong coming to mind. He is considered one of the most
influential and talented artists in jazz history. Louis Armstrongwas born in New Orleans, Louisiana
in 1901. Born into poverty, young Armstrong began earning money from a young age by selling
newspapers and vegetables, but more importantly, singing with a group of friends on the street.
It was during these early years of singing that he received his nickname Satchelmouth which was
later shortened to Satchmo because he had such a big mouth. On New Year s Eve in 1912,
Armstrong was arrested after firing shots from his step father s gun into the air. The eleven year
old Louis did this as a traditional New Year s celebration. The police then sent him to Colored

Proverrbs On Crooked By Education
While there are many proverbs in the world, there is one that sticks out the most, Crooked by
nature is never made straight by education which is a proverb that originated from Italy. This
proverb means that if from birth a person is twisted, in the sense that they are bad, will never be
fixed. It fits in today, or the past, because so many people are born with a corrupted mind set, and
the education system tries to fix it, but will fail. Thus this proverbcan be seen in the past, with Luis
Garavito and Ted Bundy, and in literature including Stephen King s 11/22/63, and finally today
ISIS gives examples of this proverb.

Muslims, who are believers of Islam, are heavily dedicated to Allah, or their god. The atomistic
metaphysics of the Ash arites created a fatal breach between cause and effect in the natural
world. Fire does not burn cotten; God does. Gravity does not make rocks fall; God does. To say
that a rock fall because of gravity is an act of shirk... (Reilly) Shirk, as stated in the evidence,
means to neglect or avoid a duty or responsibility. Which means that muslims have to believe that
Allah causes everything. Along with believing that everything is caused by Allah, they also
think that their death is what Allah wants as well. Speak with any American soldiers who have
served with Iraqi troops, and you will find that the Iraqis will resist things as simple as wearing
seatbelts or kevlar vests...if my time has come as decreed by Allah, the seat belt or the kevlar
vest is not going to save me. If my assigned time has not come, why do I need to use the seat belt
or wear a kevlar vest (Reilly). Because they think that death will come to them no matter what, and
in anyway shape or form. This kind of thinking makes them blame ISIS murders on Allah, or ISIS s
attacks saying that that s what Allah wants. ISIS also believes that Allah will punish anyone who
has sinned, and reward those who haven t. Whether it is an Asian tsunami or American hurricane,
Ash arite muslims will explain it in terms of God s punishing sinners for their disobedience.
Therefore Allah punished the United States with Hurricane Katrina for its interference in the
muslim world. Also, Allah placed the oil under the sand of the Arabian Peninsula as a reward for
following strict sharia law (Reilly). Again, with that kind of thinking, ISIS can say that Allah told
them to attack the US, or other countries. Them thinking Allah rewarding ISIS with oil

The Quebec Separatist Movement Of Canada
At some point, countries will fight for freedom at their breaking point. For example, during the mid
1900s, Canada did their own movement called the Quebec Separatist Movement. The movement
was about Quebec s independence from government. The movement involved the citizens of
Quebec and a group called Front de Liberation du Quebec(FLQ). The Front de Liberation du
Quebec had kidnapped people in Canada. The Quebec Separatist Movement began due to Quebec s
citizens ambition to become independent and was finally resolved by making a new constitution.
The historical context of the Quebec Separatist movement included The Quiet Revolution. The
Quiet Revolution was when small groups try to make Quebec independent especially FLQ. The
small groups members were Francophones, French speaking citizens. Their ideals was to make

The Issue Of Safety And Gun Control
Have you ever thought about the fact that in America, an 18 year old is old enough to buy a gun,
but not a beer? The concern of a gun crime being committed by a young man/woman is high, but
what if they want to go hunting with their father? It doesn t seem so bad now. Some people may
think that our President isn t effective enough, but there are too many people supporting each
side for the President to make a large, yet fair decision. There may be two sides to the story, but
what is the right option? This question of safety and gun control has become part of an on going
controversy due to views on The Constitution, the national gun control laws, as well as the fact that
most Americans would like an updated background checking system. The discussions about
citizens rights to bear arms go back to ancient times. Political theorists from ancient Rome, John
Locke of England, and Jean Jacques Rousseau of France viewed the possession of arms as a sign
of personal freedom and a crucial element of government. The precise meaning and purpose of the
Second Amendment has been an issue of major controversy. Gun control supporters argue that
when the Second Amendment was adopted in 1791, each state enabled a militia, composed of
ordinary citizens who served as part time soldiers. Fearing that the federal government would use its
army to force its will on the states, the authors of the Second Amendment intended to protect the
state militias right to bear arms. As stated in modern times

Similarities Between Frederick Douglass And Olaudah Equiano
The cruel and harsh treatment of slaves in the seventeenth and eighteenth century is something
that in today s millennium a person could not even dream of. Slaves were known to be illiterate;
however there are few that had the opportunity to be educated and from them society has a small
glimpse into the past. There are two slaves in particular that give people a way to see life
through their eyes. Frederick Douglass and Olaudah Equiano were two slaves during those
times that were forced into the world of slavery. Frederick Douglass s Narrative of the Life of

In the matter of life revolving around slavery, Frederick Douglass and Olaudah Equiano
experienced extremely similar events. Each was forced to separate from their families and
homes to live under horrible conditions and be traded like animals across land and sea. They both
became witness to the cruel treatment of other slaves and had to endure grueling workloads set

those being either kidnapped or born into a slave owned family. In Equiano s autobiography he

Bill Cosby Allegations Essay
There is no way humanly possible that these Bill Cosby Allegations are not true with all the 13 of
the Women who stood forward and accused him of sexual abuse. Now said in the paragraphs
before, the multiple women who accused Bill Cosby of sexual abuse and misconduct provided
different stories with multiple similarities in them. This on its own is just a very obvious clue to the
fact that he has sexually abused these women, along with how many stories there are.
The first allegation was made by Sunni Welles in March of 2015 stating that, Cosby raped her
twice when she was an aspiring singer in the mid 1960s by drugging her drink (Littlefield). The
second allegation was made by Kristina Ruehli and she stated that It was all foggy, and I woke
up in the bed. I found myself on the bed, and he had his shirt off. He had unzipped his pants.
(Littlefield). The third allegation was made by Linda Joy Traitz, she was just a waitress at a
restaurant that happened to be co owned by Bill Cosby; she stated that he drugged and groped her
in his car. (Littlefield). There were ten more women who came forward and accused Bill Cosby of
sexual abuse and misconduct. Notice in just the first three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Now some others disagree with the fact that Bill Cosby has sexually abused these women because
of the reason that one accusation was actually proven false, this was the accusation made by
Andrea Constand. Andrea Constand statement, just like most the others included the drugging and
the sexual assault followed after, but in the courtroom Bill Cosby responded to her statement in a
manner like their relationship was consensual, which made the side of Cosby seem somewhat
believable because of the fact that they had a prior friendship or relationship that had been going

Hydrogen Power Of A Power System
1.INTRODUCTION: 1.1Background: Reactive power in a power system is important to
maintain or support the voltage to deliver the active power demanded by the load side.
Synchronous generators are the main source of reactive power in most of the power plants. The
reactive power capability of the generator is the amount of the reactive support produced at the
rated generator terminals. The capability of these generators are represented by capability curves
that are published by the manufacturer based solely on the thermal limitations as shown in figure
1. But in the real world, when the generator is employed in a power plant, its reactive capability is
much less compared to that of published generator capability due to several design and operating
constraints of the plant. This forms the basis to determine the reactive capability of the generator
operating in the power plant. Fig. 1. Generator Reactive Capability Curve (D Curve) with Different
hydrogen pressures for Plant Under Study 1.2Unit Capability: Unit capability of steam power plants
using synchronous generators is the amount of the reactive power that is produced by the unit
considering design constraints, system operations and limitations. In a Bulk Electric System (BES)
unit capability can determine the amount of reactive power required to improve the voltage profile.
So, it is important to define the capability limits to evaluate the voltage support under normal,
abnormal and emergency conditions. The

Twelfth Night Shame Quotes
Although Twelfth Night is renowned for its comical nature and cross dressing, on closer
examination it appears that Shakespeare has used this comedy to have a greater effect on the
audience than pure humour, supporting Berry s statement. However, before attesting that Berry is
entirely correct, we must evaluate three things: the way in which Shakespeare makes the audience
feel ashamed, whether this shameis felt by both contemporary audiences and Elizabethan/Jacobean
audiences, and whether shame is, as Berry writes the ultimate effect .
One of the ways in which Shakespeare could be seen to cast shame upon the audience is through
their reaction to the characters treatment of Malvolio. On receiving the letter, Malvolio expresses
I thank my stars I am happy (...) Jove and my stars be praised! (...) Jove I thank thee. I will smile, I
will do everything that thou wilt have me. (Act II, Scene V, lines... Show more content on

However, his statement Thou say thou art a man. (Act I, Scene V, line 30) Is short, blunt and
definite, proving that he is in fact oblivious to her deception. This is yet another example of
dramatic irony, as only the audience and Viola are aware of her true identity. This irony shows us
that Orsino has been outsmarted by a female, straying from the traditional patriarchal views of
women and consequentially reinforcing Dusinberre s critique of the text. In our modern society,
with this current new wave of feminism, this message is particularly relevant, and so would
arguably have a greater impact on an audience than the shame felt from Twelfth Night would. If it
is to have a greater effect, then it is superior to Shakespeare s evocation of shame, and thus feeling
ashamed cannot be the ultimate effect of Shakespeare s Twelfth

The Relationship Between The Miracles Of Jesus
Whether or not one is a follower and believer of Jesus Christ, no one can truly deny the
extraordinary impact which His life and His ministry has had on the world. The Son of God,
Jesus Christ left the glory of Heaven to come down to earth as a man, to save the lives of men and
women through the call of His teachings and the example of His life. During His ministry on earth,
in obedience to His Heavenly Father, Jesusused miracles and teachings to glorify Him. The
intention of this essay is to explain the relationship between the teachings of Jesus and the miracles
He performed. It is also hoped, that by reading this essay, the reader will gain a fuller understanding
of why Jesus used miracles and teachings during His ministry, the purpose of these miracles and
teachings, and how they complemented each other.

They played a vital role in building people s faith and helping people to truly believe that He was
who He said He was, the Son of God and Messiah. In John 20:30 31, John writes, 30Therefore
many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in
this book; 31but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the
Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. Along with building people s
faith, the miracles also served to show God s power and authority over everything on Earth.
Through God, Jesus had the authority, manifest in His ability, to cast out demons, heal
sicknesses and diseases, raise the dead, and show God s supernatural provision. The miracles were
not performed by Jesus on His own behalf or for His own relief but were worked to promote the

Shrek Movie Analysis
Fairy tales don t always follow the same boring pattern; beautiful princess falls in love with her
prince charming and they live happily ever after. The movie Shrek, an ogre and beautiful princess
fall in love, though this beautiful princess has a secret; her secret is that by day a beautiful
princess, and by night an ugly ogre, at least in her eyes. Shrekthought she was beautiful as a
human and as an ogre; this hidden message is shown as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Also
in the movie, another implied message is that people are prejudice to stereotypes. Though, once you
truly know some one, it can be really wonderful and life changing.

Shrek and Fiona end up falling in love, even though they didn t like each other at the beginning
because they assumed the other was not their type when in fact they are just alike.
Friendship is one of the most important things in life. This is also shown in Shrek between
Donkey, Shrek, and Fiona. Shrek and Donkey don t seem to get along at the beginning of the
movie when rescuing Princess Fiona from the dragons keep. After Shrek and Donkey save
Princess Fiona, Shrek overhears Princess Fiona and Donkey talking about her curse and how
Princess Fiona thought she was ugly as an ogre and Shrek wouldn t love her if she was an Ogre.
Near the end of the movie, Shrek, Donkey, and Princess Fiona all end up going their separate
ways; Shrek ends up going back to his swamp, Donkey has nowhere so he ends up just walking
around the forest, and Princess Fiona ends up going off to Duloc to marry Lord Farquaad. Before
Princess Fiona and Lord Farquaad are married, Donkey tells Shrek that they are friends and that
Shrek should treat him more like one. In the end, Shrek and Fiona end up happily together because
of Donkey.
Though this fairy tale isn t like the average fairy tale, it still has implied and hidden messages.

Protestant Old Testament Essay
In the Catholic faith, the Protestant belief of sola scriptura or scripture alone is to be used along
with the Magisterial authority of those in the church such as the Pope and Bishops, which is a long
standing belief from the church s founding in 33 AD. The Protestant Bible and The Catholic Bible
both use the same New Testament, which was defined by Athanasius in 367, but use a different Old
Testament. The Protestant Old Testament is different than the Catholic Old Testament because of
the history of the founding of the Protestant faith. The Protestant Old testament comes from the
Hebrew Bible which was decided to have 24 books, with this canon being accepted at the Councils
of Jamnia in 90 118 AD. (Coffman) The early church fathers, however, were using the Septuagint ,
a Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible because they could read Greek but not Hebrew. (Coffman)

Does Classical Music Have An Effect On Infants Brain...
Does Classical Music Have an Effect on Infants Brain Development?
In 1998, Zell Miller, the governor of the state of Georgia, started a new program that distributed
free CDs with classical music to the parents of every newborn baby in Georgia. Why did he do
this? He certainly was not just trying to be nice and win a political statement; instead, his idea
came from a new line of research showing a link between listening to classical music and enhanced
brain development in infants. (1) So, what evidence was there for this governor to make a $105,000
proposal to give classical music for the newborn babies? I considered how my sister and I took
music lessons, the Suzuki method, since we were 7 or 8 years old, and how my mother ... Show

(2) However, soon enough, it was found that these results lasted only 10 15 minutes and more
research quickly was undertaken by various groups all over the world.
However, before continuing in this search of the validity of the Mozart effect, I feel like there
needs to be a definition of intelligence . Since we learned how tricky notions of words can be on
our minds from class, I took the liberty to search for how intelligence is measured and decided to
take the definition used by Wilfried Gruhn as being associated with cognitive and intellectual
capacity, the psychobiological potential to solve problems. This can be correlated with higher speed
in neuronal signal transmission and signal processing, stronger and more efficient neuronal
interconnectivity, and high correlation between IQ and neuronal activity (r=0.50 0.70). (3)
Now, if brain = behavior as we are learning in class (4), then there indeed should be a measurable
correlation between musically trained minds and their intelligence. In addition, there must be one
or more parts of the brain which are responsible for both these two behaviors of being musically
inclined and intelligent . And since the measure of intelligence is defined mainly concerning the
brain activity, I delved into the effects on music on brain idea that has always been accepted in my
childhood.
Assuming that brain = behavior, I wanted to find out

Hurricane Mitigation Research Paper
Miami, Florida is located in an area that is exposed to a lot of natural hazards. Hurricanes and
flooding are two of the most prominent natural disasters that this area experiences. Due to the fact
that these natural disasters occur so frequently, mitigation plans have been implemented to decrease
the potential damage. In order to efficiently detect oncoming disasters, weatherradars have been
utilized to track high precipitation that may lead to floods. In addition, hurricane experts study the
past hurricanes that passed through to get a better understanding of when a hurricane may strike.
Other strategies to track future hurricanes include monitoring hurricane patterns from space.
Currently, in Miami, Florida, many mitigation strategies have been introduced to lessen the damage
from hurricanes. The most common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In result, mitigation strategies have been created to reduce the impact floods have on the entire
community. The Tamiami Canal has been implemented to reduce the damage floods hold. This is a
barrier that pushes storm water out against the ocean, resulting in less water piling up on land.
To educated the public, the city of Miami has distributed hurricane prepare manuals. These manuals
entail information on the proper evacuation routes one should take based on their location. Also,
this information informs the reader of the steps needed to prepare a house before evacuation.
Though there are numerous mitigation strategies implemented already by the city of Miami, I
personally believe that there is room for improvement. The suggestion I have created involves the
the education of the citizens in Miami. I suggest that new citizens of Miami are required to attend a
short seminar on hurricane evacuation. Though this plan seems extreme and inconvenient, I believe
that evacuation strategies are the most important, because the process of evacuation is the least
efficient, and causes the most

Metal Plater and Cruddy Creek
From the data given of the measured amounts of cadmium given at each stations along Cruddy
Creek, there were extremely higher concentration levels, 430 mg/kg dry weight total of cadmium
from stations F, G, and H, upstream in comparison to a total combined amount of 315mg/kg dry
weight of cadmium from stations A, B, C, D, E, and the reference sites. Thus, the following
locations have been identified as potential sources responsible for the distribution of cadmiuminto
Cruddy Creek; Atlas Batteries, Metal Plater, and Pacific Coal Electric power plant due to their
relevant histories and proximities to the increased amounts of cadmium.
Atlas Batteries has been a part of Cruddy Creek since 1970. Their main objectives were lead acid
batteries recycling and now also recycling of nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries. They are a
potential source of cadmium contamination because of their methodology of disposal of sulfuric
acid via an open, unlined pit which allows for chemicals to seep into the sediments at a much faster
and easier rate. In addition, Atlas Batteries has a direct effluent discharge into Cruddy Creek that
carries contaminants of concern such as cadmium, nickel, lead, and zinc.
Metal Plater has a long history with Cruddy Creek since its operations began in 1930. Their focus
is on different types of electroplating. Due to the complex process of electroplating the waste
products that are produced may be acidic or alkaline and contain significant concentrations of

The Charter Of Rights And Freedoms
The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is part of the Constitution and it was added to the Constitution
in 1982. The Constitution has many laws about the essential guidelines one must follow in our
country. It also governs how the government/ organizations should treat their citizens. The Charter
allows the citizens and newcomers to feel like they are appreciated and also safe. However, there
are situations where the Charter cannot protect you. The Charter can be stretched and can be
looked at from different perspectives which is why these cases are very controversial. In Canada, we
have many levels of courts so if someone was rejected by a lower court, they can appealto a higher
one. Cases that include an individual that feels as if their rights haven t been respected take
months because the appeal to present their case in front of a higher court can take weeks. It is
the understanding of the individual that the if he/she brings a case to the court, they will win
because courts are equal and unbiased but when that is not always the case. There are many
cases when the judge cannot decide because both the challenger and the law are correct. In today
s society, equality issues are ever growing, these cases are brought based on section 15 of the
charter that promises Canadians are fair and equal trial regardless of the differences. Decisions are
very tough, so they are usually made on the grounds of evidence, statutes and precedent cases.
A great example of these controversial

  • 2. Conservative Judaism Vs Liberal Judaism One basic belief of Judaism is the belief in one god who is responsible for the creation of the universe, and who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. Another belief that Jews hold, which is somewhat unique among monotheistic religions is the belief that god does not have a body. This means god is neither male nor female, which can make godmore relatable. Jews also strongly believe that god listens to every person, and is interested in every person. Attached to this belief is the belief that god speaks to humans, sometimes in ways one would not expect. 2. The religion of Judaism is not evangelizing religion and the bar to entry is significantly harder than practically every other religion. Judaism does not seek to convert people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I shall begin with the points of congruence (of which there are few). Both segments are unorganized, and do not have a centralized religious authority at their core. In fact, the term orthodox is an umbrella that encompasses many different orthodox movements within Judaism. Liberal Judaism shares this lack of monolithic movement or philosophy, with all congregation being independent. This creates a diversity within these two particular sects that is richer than in other strands of Judaism. Found within both Orthodox Judaism and Liberal Judaism is a disapproval of interreligious marriage. Orthodox Judaism is outspoken and very explicitly in opposition to interreligious marriage. While it takes a more low key approach to the question, Liberal Judaism shares this view. As an example, Liberal rabbis in the United Kingdom do not conduct mixed marriages. The final case of similarity between Liberal Judaism and Orthodox Judaism is their mutual celebration of religious holidays. Those of the Liberal Jewish persuasion observe the same Jewish festivals and celebration as Orthodox Jews. While Liberal Judaism does stray from Orthodox Judaism in regards to theology and some liturgy it is important to recognize that they celebrate the same holidays and retain many of the same rituals as ... • 3. Children s Socialization And Control Of Children Before... 1.What role did the family play in the socialization and control of children before the 1800s? During the Middle Ages and through the 1500s and 1600s, the family served as the primary unit of social control. Within the family, power was typically vested in the father, and the mother and the children were expected to obey his commands. However, the nuclear family of today was relatively rare in the middle ages. Rather, a typical family consisted of an extended group of related people and other individuals who were not related. The father, particularly if he was a merchant, might spend considerable time away from the home. High mortality rates meant that either parent might have died and been replaced by a stepparent. In addition, servants, apprentices, and journeymen sometimes lived in the household, and neighbors were often present. Consequently, childrenwere exposed to a large number of adults who played a role in their socialization and control. 2.What role did children play in the colonization of the New World? Children were counted on to play an important role in the expansion of European influence and became an integral part of plans to colonize the New World. Indeed, for some people, the colonization of the New World was viewed as an opportunity for children to be involved in productive work. Merchants saw children as potential providers of the labor that would be needed to produce the many goods necessary for survival in the colonies. Some people felt that work was ... Thus, two blogs have been written here titled as China s aging population, and The Hukou system . Each of these has been described in the context of the topic so as to make them clear and precise enough to the reader. The blog titled China s aging population describes how the increase in population is a growing concern for the country. The reason for selection of this topic is to explore how the increase in aged population of China is causing an impact on the country s economic system. The increase in population is a serious issue of concern, which is well controlled by the government through introducing one child policy (Peilin, 2015). This parameter has however resulted into several side effects such as increase in aged people in the country. As a result of this, the expenses associated with elderly people is also increasing, which is an interesting area focused in the blog. It was rather a good choice of topic as it helped in exploring how the increase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Essay about Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm The cardiovascular system is the most important system in our body. This system is what keeps us alive. Beating on average 30 billion times a year, our heart is never able to stop and take a break. With every beat of our heart, the cardiovascular system moves blood, gases, nutrients, and hormones throughout the intricate vasculature of our bodies. An adult body contains over 60,000 miles of vessels, which can wrap around the world two and a half times. The vessel branching off of the heart is largest artery in our body and is known as the aorta. The aorta supplies oxygenated blood to our body. The aorta runs along the midline of our body and has many other vessels that stem from it to deliver the blood to a specific location. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Elastic tissue is very strong. The adventitia is the outermost layer. It is made of collagen and nourishes the wall with vasa vasorum. An aneurysm is a widening or ballooning of a vessel. It is caused by weakness in the aortic wall. In the aortic wall, the media is mostly affected because it is the thickest. There are instances where dilation of the wall can occur, but to the outermost layer and this is not a typical aneurysm. It is known as a false aneurysm or a pseudoaneurysm. When the outermost layer is dilated, often times the inner or medial wall will rupture, but the outer wall will still be intact. The extracellular matrix proteins degenerate and the inflammatory T cells are present. The collagen and elastin dissolve and disintegrate which will lead to an expansion of the aortic wall. If the pressure in the vessel is too great, the aortic wall will rupture. An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a ballooning or dilating of the abdominal aorta. An aneurysm is diagnosed when the diameter of the vessel is greater than 50% of its original diameter. The aorta is normally two centimeters in diameter at the level or the renal arteries. An aneurysm is named based off of their location, size and shape. An aneurysm will affect how the vessel is shaped, therefore causing the blood flow to alter. When an aneurysm is symmetrical on both sides of the aortic wall it is called fusiform; but if only one side of the wall is dilated, it is saccular. Aneurysms ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The latter is the main cause of the short story A Young Man s Folly by Susan Michalicka. The story revolves around a modern family, where a boy tries to deal with the loss of his father leaving him. Michalicka conveys the message of: Sometimes when you re chasing something, you lose sight of what is really important very well through the use of conflict, characterization and symbolism. Conflict was used effectively in the short story to reveal the theme of the story. The boy has an internal conflict about which parent to stay with, and because his father left, he seemed to have favored him. He wanted him back so badly that every night, he watches him on the six o clock news while wearing his old jackets. He was blinded by his father s sudden departure that he forgot about what is really important. Additionally, another development in the short story s conflict has been used effectively to reveal the theme. The reason for these variations can be traced back to our genetic make up. A person as 23 pairs of chromosomes and each of these chromosomes carry one molecule of DNA. DNA itself is made up of adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytosine, then, these chemical compounds wrap around each other to form a double helix. These chromosomes contain around 20,500 genes and even with such a large number our variations are caused by less than 1% of our genes according to the Human Genomes Project in 2003. These variations also come from genotypes and phenotypes. The difference between Vertigo (1958) and the other films that we have watched, is that this film has more unanswered questions and a darker meaning. Personally, I did not really like how the story of Vertigo was filmed. And of course this is just my own opinion, which can be argued based on your own experience with the film. Some of the major forms of experimentation that I noticed throughout the film was in the lighting, camera shots, and movement. A perfect example where Hitchcock experimented with cinematography of lighting within a scene was inside the Empire hotel. A more specific scene of his intense use of lighting was when Scottie transforms Judy into Madeleine. In fact, Alfred Hitchcock, really felt that the lighting was very important aspect that helped shape the meaning of the scene. According to Vertigo s screenwriter, Samuel Taylor, he mentioned that Hitchcock never really liked to see the story in a full view. Instead Hitchcock was more focused on viewing each scene like a mosaic. In order to view the full story, he believed he had to first complete each part of the mosaic. Hitchcock creates each scene as a form of artwork. As seen in several scenes throughout Vertigo, we clearly see how he creates scenes by focusing on every aspect of cinematography to tell a deeper sinister narrative through each characters. Even though they had a similar thought about modern dance, they had one thing that made them very different, which was their choreography. Duncan pieces were lively and upbeat, and Wigmans were dark and mysterious. They both approached modern dancethrough a different eye. Even if they lived in two different parts of the world, The American, as represented by Isadora Duncan, and the German, as represented by Mary Wigman, (Cass 247), the world would then get two different choreographers that were evolving at the same time in history, which impacted the dance history.... One of the works that basically describes Wigman as a whole is the Witches Dance Its a burlesque play of bodies, limbs, and heads. At first a crowded, tangled heap, it starts vibrating slowly in ever increasing elastic and shaking movements, dissolves and darts out to the floor in somersaults and grotesque jumps... All of this relates to the human condition and the microcosm that everything is bigger than itself. A demographic approach from birth to death greatly affects the outlook of the world and others on the planet. Understanding the refusal to accept others based on patriotism and ethnocentrism branches into our values and beliefs passing on to children and the world. A Look Behind the Veil by Elizabeth and Robert Fernea states The thousands of words written about the appearance and disappearance of the veil and of purdah do little help us understand the Middle East or the cultures that grew out of the same Judeo Christian roots as our own(para 3, pdf) . Christians look down on Hindu and Islamic Groups by believing in a false sense of equality and treatment of others. This comes from how women in both cultures dress. Christian women are free to wear whatever they choose. Muslims women have the option to wear a scarf to cover their hair or hijab as referred to in Arabic. Christian culture tends to look at this as if it oppressive as losing a sense of fashion, identity, and expression. In reality, women have a choice whether to wear the hijab or not and if they do some places cater to their needs. A salon only for women called Le Jemalink owned by Huda Quhushi is open to letting Muslim women express themselves in a space to get pampered and relax similar to things that Christian women do such as painting their nails, but making them okay to partake in in Islamic culture(Facebook, Now This,2016, Christianity video). Proverrbs On Crooked By Education While there are many proverbs in the world, there is one that sticks out the most, Crooked by nature is never made straight by education which is a proverb that originated from Italy. This proverb means that if from birth a person is twisted, in the sense that they are bad, will never be fixed. It fits in today, or the past, because so many people are born with a corrupted mind set, and the education system tries to fix it, but will fail. Thus this proverbcan be seen in the past, with Luis Garavito and Ted Bundy, and in literature including Stephen King s 11/22/63, and finally today ISIS gives examples of this proverb. The concern of a gun crime being committed by a young man/woman is high, but what if they want to go hunting with their father? It doesn t seem so bad now. Some people may think that our President isn t effective enough, but there are too many people supporting each side for the President to make a large, yet fair decision. There may be two sides to the story, but what is the right option? This question of safety and gun control has become part of an on going controversy due to views on The Constitution, the national gun control laws, as well as the fact that most Americans would like an updated background checking system. The discussions about citizens rights to bear arms go back to ancient times. Political theorists from ancient Rome, John Locke of England, and Jean Jacques Rousseau of France viewed the possession of arms as a sign of personal freedom and a crucial element of government. The precise meaning and purpose of the Second Amendment has been an issue of major controversy. Gun control supporters argue that when the Second Amendment was adopted in 1791, each state enabled a militia, composed of ordinary citizens who served as part time soldiers. Fearing that the federal government would use its army to force its will on the states, the authors of the Second Amendment intended to protect the state militias right to bear arms. • 42. Hydrogen Power Of A Power System 1.INTRODUCTION: 1.1Background: Reactive power in a power system is important to maintain or support the voltage to deliver the active power demanded by the load side. Synchronous generators are the main source of reactive power in most of the power plants. The reactive power capability of the generator is the amount of the reactive support produced at the rated generator terminals. The capability of these generators are represented by capability curves that are published by the manufacturer based solely on the thermal limitations as shown in figure 1. But in the real world, when the generator is employed in a power plant, its reactive capability is much less compared to that of published generator capability due to several design and operating constraints of the plant. This forms the basis to determine the reactive capability of the generator operating in the power plant. Fig. 1. Generator Reactive Capability Curve (D Curve) with Different hydrogen pressures for Plant Under Study 1.2Unit Capability: Unit capability of steam power plants using synchronous generators is the amount of the reactive power that is produced by the unit considering design constraints, system operations and limitations. In a Bulk Electric System (BES) unit capability can determine the amount of reactive power required to improve the voltage profile. So, it is important to define the capability limits to evaluate the voltage support under normal, abnormal and emergency conditions. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Twelfth Night Shame Quotes Although Twelfth Night is renowned for its comical nature and cross dressing, on closer examination it appears that Shakespeare has used this comedy to have a greater effect on the audience than pure humour, supporting Berry s statement. However, before attesting that Berry is entirely correct, we must evaluate three things: the way in which Shakespeare makes the audience feel ashamed, whether this shameis felt by both contemporary audiences and Elizabethan/Jacobean audiences, and whether shame is, as Berry writes the ultimate effect . One of the ways in which Shakespeare could be seen to cast shame upon the audience is through their reaction to the characters treatment of Malvolio. This irony shows us that Orsino has been outsmarted by a female, straying from the traditional patriarchal views of women and consequentially reinforcing Dusinberre s critique of the text. In our modern society, with this current new wave of feminism, this message is particularly relevant, and so would arguably have a greater impact on an audience than the shame felt from Twelfth Night would. • 50. Does Classical Music Have An Effect On Infants Brain... Does Classical Music Have an Effect on Infants Brain Development? In 1998, Zell Miller, the governor of the state of Georgia, started a new program that distributed free CDs with classical music to the parents of every newborn baby in Georgia. Why did he do this? He certainly was not just trying to be nice and win a political statement; instead, his idea came from a new line of research showing a link between listening to classical music and enhanced brain development in infants. (1) So, what evidence was there for this governor to make a $105,000 proposal to give classical music for the newborn babies? I considered how my sister and I took music lessons, the Suzuki method, since we were 7 or 8 years old, and how my mother ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (2) However, soon enough, it was found that these results lasted only 10 15 minutes and more research quickly was undertaken by various groups all over the world. However, before continuing in this search of the validity of the Mozart effect, I feel like there needs to be a definition of intelligence . Since we learned how tricky notions of words can be on our minds from class, I took the liberty to search for how intelligence is measured and decided to take the definition used by Wilfried Gruhn as being associated with cognitive and intellectual capacity, the psychobiological potential to solve problems. This can be correlated with higher speed in neuronal signal transmission and signal processing, stronger and more efficient neuronal interconnectivity, and high correlation between IQ and neuronal activity (r=0.50 0.70). (3) Now, if brain = behavior as we are learning in class (4), then there indeed should be a measurable correlation between musically trained minds and their intelligence. In addition, there must be one or more parts of the brain which are responsible for both these two behaviors of being musically inclined and intelligent . And since the measure of intelligence is defined mainly concerning the brain activity, I delved into the effects on music on brain idea that has always been accepted in my childhood. Assuming that brain = behavior, I wanted to find out ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 51. Hurricane Mitigation Research Paper Miami, Florida is located in an area that is exposed to a lot of natural hazards. Hurricanes and flooding are two of the most prominent natural disasters that this area experiences. Due to the fact that these natural disasters occur so frequently, mitigation plans have been implemented to decrease the potential damage. In order to efficiently detect oncoming disasters, weatherradars have been utilized to track high precipitation that may lead to floods. In addition, hurricane experts study the past hurricanes that passed through to get a better understanding of when a hurricane may strike. Other strategies to track future hurricanes include monitoring hurricane patterns from space. Currently, in Miami, Florida, many mitigation strategies have been introduced to lessen the damage from hurricanes. The most common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In result, mitigation strategies have been created to reduce the impact floods have on the entire community. The Tamiami Canal has been implemented to reduce the damage floods hold. This is a barrier that pushes storm water out against the ocean, resulting in less water piling up on land. To educated the public, the city of Miami has distributed hurricane prepare manuals. These manuals entail information on the proper evacuation routes one should take based on their location. Also, this information informs the reader of the steps needed to prepare a house before evacuation. Though there are numerous mitigation strategies implemented already by the city of Miami, I personally believe that there is room for improvement. The suggestion I have created involves the the education of the citizens in Miami. I suggest that new citizens of Miami are required to attend a short seminar on hurricane evacuation. Though this plan seems extreme and inconvenient, I believe that evacuation strategies are the most important, because the process of evacuation is the least efficient, and causes the most ... • 52. Metal Plater and Cruddy Creek From the data given of the measured amounts of cadmium given at each stations along Cruddy Creek, there were extremely higher concentration levels, 430 mg/kg dry weight total of cadmium from stations F, G, and H, upstream in comparison to a total combined amount of 315mg/kg dry weight of cadmium from stations A, B, C, D, E, and the reference sites. Thus, the following locations have been identified as potential sources responsible for the distribution of cadmiuminto Cruddy Creek; Atlas Batteries, Metal Plater, and Pacific Coal Electric power plant due to their relevant histories and proximities to the increased amounts of cadmium. Atlas Batteries has been a part of Cruddy Creek since 1970. Their main objectives were lead acid batteries recycling and now also recycling of nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries. They are a potential source of cadmium contamination because of their methodology of disposal of sulfuric acid via an open, unlined pit which allows for chemicals to seep into the sediments at a much faster and easier rate. In addition, Atlas Batteries has a direct effluent discharge into Cruddy Creek that carries contaminants of concern such as cadmium, nickel, lead, and zinc. Metal Plater has a long history with Cruddy Creek since its operations began in 1930. Their focus is on different types of electroplating. Due to the complex process of electroplating the waste products that are produced may be acidic or alkaline and contain significant concentrations of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. The Charter Of Rights And Freedoms The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is part of the Constitution and it was added to the Constitution in 1982. The Constitution has many laws about the essential guidelines one must follow in our country. It also governs how the government/ organizations should treat their citizens. The Charter allows the citizens and newcomers to feel like they are appreciated and also safe. However, there are situations where the Charter cannot protect you. The Charter can be stretched and can be looked at from different perspectives which is why these cases are very controversial. In Canada, we have many levels of courts so if someone was rejected by a lower court, they can appealto a higher one. Cases that include an individual that feels as if their rights haven t been respected take months because the appeal to present their case in front of a higher court can take weeks. It is the understanding of the individual that the if he/she brings a case to the court, they will win because courts are equal and unbiased but when that is not always the case. There are many cases when the judge cannot decide because both the challenger and the law are correct. In today s society, equality issues are ever growing, these cases are brought based on section 15 of the charter that promises Canadians are fair and equal trial regardless of the differences. Decisions are very tough, so they are usually made on the grounds of evidence, statutes and precedent cases. A great example of these controversial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reporting party was Pershing Elementary School staff. Officer Will Sanders #549 was dispatched to Pershing Elementary, located at 301 N. 54th St., in reference to making contact with Karen Watkins and Shannon Johnson. Once on the scene, Officer Sanders was informed by Ms. Watkins that Kevin disclosed to the school counselor, Shannon Johnson that he sucked on his mother, Taren Harvey s, privates. Ms. Watkins originally called Kids Space to try and figure out the proper procedure since they have had Darkness to Light Training provided by Kids Space in the past. Officer Sanders then spoke with Ms. Johnson, who stated three boys were brought to speak with her over a squabble they had on the playground. The boys were Ty Looney, Kevin Baptiste, and Malcom Lewis. They were all arguing, so Ms. Johnson separated them and spoke with them one at a time. Ty told Ms. Johnson that they were all arguing because Kevin called Ty and Malcom gay and said they sucked each other s privates . Malcom said the same thing as Ty.
