Caribbean Influence
Pirates and their Influence through the Caribbean People who adopted piracy had to adapt because of
colonialism and the battles between England and the Spanish. Those who couldn t find work chose to
use their skill in the only way they knew how that could still earn them a living: piracy
(gohistory.com). Piracy was based on skill and was the only thing left for people who had to deal with
the after effect of the war between the Spanish and the English. The type of skills werecriminal
activites such as stealing, killing and taking over the sea s. In the 1500 s Spain ruled the oceans and
established the colonies in America. Spain was the birth place from where piracy had originated. This
form of piracy was also known as buccaneerings. The buccaneers got their name from the word
buccaneers .(thewayofthepirates.com) The buccaneers were the early day version of the pirates since
the buccaneers came before the pirates. Buccaneers became the pirates and focused most of their
lifestyle that they had had and had to become Spanish throughout when piracy comes to a final end.

This law that the pirates created was known as the pirate s code. It was a less of an extension of the
border pirate government (Goldenageofpiracy.com) .9 Pirates had to follow this code by all means
including the captain of the ship. The captain was elected by the crew; there was also a will of
strictness incorporated aboard the ship (Goldenageofpiracy.org). Ruling classes of imperial powers
was the reason to why the pirates way of government and tactics took its place throughout there era.
The significance of the pirate s code is that it was operated to provide structure among the pirates and

Sept by Step Instruction in Designing a Wide Area Network...
Introduction The purpose of this project is to design a WAN (wide area network) using a Cisco Packet
Tracer simulation. The Step by step instructions included in this project are designed to help provide
an inside view of how to design any type of network using the Cisco Packet Tracer network simulation
software. In addition i will also be looking at other software s that are similar to the Cisco Packet
Tracer and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the software. I will also be looking into the types
of network devices needed to design a WAN. Finally, I into the types of network architecture, network
topologies and security management suitable for my design network project. Literature Reviews As

Two of these individuals were James Gross and Mesut Güneş. They initially produced a package
labelled NS. This was followed by NS2 then by NS3, each version an improvement on the package
before. These were virtual applications where the designers sought to model networks in a manner that
best suited available network research, and the authors collective experiences. These packages were
capable of designing a network, and some terminology and components used are common to all
discrete event simulation systems. Unfortunately, there is no standardised set of terms and the naming
can vary in literature making the packages not entirely user friendly; ( the NS3 for example uses
programing labelled C++ and the main networking commands were known by only a few IT
specialists). Packet Tracer Software and Activities The requirement for a user friendly package was
met by the Cisco Lab. The Cisco Packet Tracer is a self paced, visual, interactive teaching and
learning tool developed by Cisco Lab. The relative ease with which this package can be used makes it
ideal for students as well as for professional use. A further benefit is that Packet Tracer provides a
visual simulation of equipment and network processes to offset the challenge of limited equipment,
(often a problem in schools and universities). Students can spend as much time as

League Of Nations Vs Versailles
World War I, was a chaotic turn of events in the history of the United States, and it caused melancholy

Coso Range Shamanism
The Coso Mountain Range is located at the intersection of the Great Basin and California culture area
just above the eastern California desert. This region was left with arroyo walls, lava flows and
pyroclastic boulders covered with petroglyphs of zoomorphic and anthropomorphic images (127).
Petroglyphs are images created by carving, pecking or incising images into rock surfaces. The most
common rock art element found in the Coso Range is that of bighorn sheep (129). Although bighorn
sheep images were common in other parts of the Great Basin and the Southwest, these elements were
seen in far greater quantities in the Coso Range. The bighorn sheep image represents more than half of
the 100,000 rock art elements discovered in this region. Many ... Show more content on

This model suggest that bighorn sheep represent mythical spirit helpers that were in the center of
shamanistic activities, including hallucinations and trances. Since bighorn sheep held a minimal role
in the diet during the late Haiwee and early Marana Period, rituals performed resulted in images of
bighorn sheep being carved to attract rain to the Coso Range as a means to increase productivity of
plants. It was said that Numic men would enter a dream states or drug induced trances during rain
rituals. The mental imprints obtained during these experiences were transcribed as rock art images.
These images were thought to portray transformation of men into spirit helpers or bighorn sheep.
These half anthropomorphic, half zoomorphic figures recorded were featured as evidence, however,
problems arose with this model. For instance, this model required the rock art to have been created
post 1000BP, since the model proposes that Numic groups from the Great Basin were the ones that
brought these rituals. However, the Numic Expansion did not occur until 1000BP and bighorn sheep
petroglyphs seem to have developed in the Coso Range prior to the Numic Expansion. Also, the
hallucinogens that produce the particular sequence that some have argued these images capture were
not available in prehistoric North America. In addition, the ethnographic footing of this model is
challenged since no ethnographic connection has been proposed between the native people and the
pecked images of bighorn sheep for rain making. Some ethnographic accounts connect shamanism
with the Coso region, weather control as a shamanic activity, rain shamans with bighorn spirit helpers
and rock art with shamans, but no particular ethnographic evidence has been made to connect all
concepts. This

Cannibalism Can Be Defined As The Intentional Consumption...
Cannibalism can be defined as the intentional consumption of the flesh or organs of a member of one s
own species. According to National Geographic, the term Cannibal originates from the Carib Indians
of the Caribbean. The Carib Indians were accused by their neighboring people as being very fierce and
of eating people. The Spanish had a problem pronouncing the letter r in Carib, so they pronounced it
as Canib and eventually Canibales . Cannibalism is a real taboo of western society and the mere
thought of it brings about a combination of fascination and revulsion. Most anthropologists today
believe that the practice of cannibalism has been a part of human behavior long before it actually
became recorded as history. Throughout history, human beings have dined on human flesh. Whether it
was part of war to gain the enemy s strength, or as a means to terrify opponents, cannibalism goes
back a long way. These days we mostly see cannibalism in the form or sadistic serial killers or
mentally deranged people performing an animalistic act. We fail to look into the societies where
cannibalism is a cultural norm and is an example of functionalism. There are an abundance of
civilizations that took part in cannibalistic acts. There are different reasons for different societies
practicing cannibalism including dealing with enemies, to grieve the loss of loved ones, to gain
powers or attributes from the deceased, and ridding the body of demons. Some groups took part in a

Millian Principles, Freedom of Expression, and Hate Speech
Speech that attacks a person or group of people on the basis of race, gender, or sexual orientation is
regarded as hateful. It has the potential to incite violence or prejudicial action against or by a protected
group of people. In Millian Principles, Freedom of Expression, and Hate Speech, Mill makes the claim
that essentially all speech, including hate speech, should be allowed. This claim holds its validity as
long as no harm is done to an individual. Here, I will show that low value speech fails to engage
deliberative views that underlie central first amendment fundamental liberties. Subsequently, I will
support these claims by comparing the aspects of hate speech to low value speech. Lastly, I advocate
for the prohibition against the use of hate speech in a university setting.
In Brink s discussion of, Millian Principles, Freedom of Expression, and Hate Speech, he
distinguishes between low value and high value speech. The former is speech that plays no essential
role in the exposition of ideas and is of such slight social value as a step to the truth that any benefit is
outweighed by the social interest in order and morality. Examples of low value speech include threats,
fighting words, incitement of illegal activity, libel, and obscenity. In contrast, high value speech is
speech that contributes to public discourse. Moreover, it possesses content based restrictions that are
subject to strict scrutiny, laws that are necessary to meet a state interest.

I Am My Love For Reading
Today I am redeveloping my love for reading thanks to my little siblings, Alex and Faith. If it was not
for them I do not think that light would have been relit. As a child I loved reading and it was
something I did every day without even thinking about it. However, due to negative experiences in
school I lost my love for reading and it was something I grew up resenting. I am so delighted to be
redeveloping my love for reading because I forgot just how relaxing it was and how digging into a
good book can make you feel as if you are one of the characters in the story. I think my love of
reading as a child developed because my mom read to me. It was something I did every night.
However, once Scholastic Reader tests started my love of reading changed into resentment for
reading, as I was never able to read what I wanted. As soon as my book options were taken from me
and I was forced to only read books I could take tests on I just stopped reading. This is a trend that
happened all throughout middle school because I was required to take Scholastic tests every single
year through eighth grade. Then once high school came along I was still so angry and had such
animosity towards reading I never got back into it. My early experiences really impacted the reader I
have become. Due to the fact I stopped reading I went from a strong reader to a not as strong reader.
Also, not being a reader has impacted the literate person I am. When you read your vocabulary is more
advanced. I

Examples Of Ghost In Hamlet
Hamlet: Belief of Ghost from a Psychological Perspective Psychological factors can be seen as the
reason people believe in ghost. It could be because their minds have the concept of ghost wired into
them because of genetics or because of intuition and the thought of ghost. People could also have
psychological tendencies, such as depression and dissociation, which make them think they have seen
ghost. In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, The main character hamlet is struggling with the
belief in ghost. In the beginning of the play Hamlet talks to his father s ghost. The ghost tells him to
take revenge on his death. (act 1, scene 5). After this, Hamlet struggles with weather it was the ghost
of his father wanting him to take revenge or a demon trying to trick him into doing evil. The belief in

In Are Ghost Concepts Intuitive, Endemic and Innate ? by Pascal Boyer, Boyer explores the reasons
behind people s belief in ghost. One of Boyer s big points of why the minds of humans have ghost
concepts, is merely genetics. Boyer believes it s likely that during some point in evolution, some
humans minds got more open to ghost concepts. The idea of people s minds being open to ghost
concepts could explain why many early civilizations took care of burring their dead in a respectable
manor. Boyer also states that ghost concepts could be intuitive. That the thought of ghosts produce
inferences and assumptions of ghost as normal. People will think ghost are real, just because they are

each other to develop inference about ghosts. Inferences about ghost could be who ghost act, what
they do, what they know, etc. Boyer provides interesting information about the likely hood that people

The Importance Of Supporting A Play Based Approach To...
In order to support a play based approach to learning it is important to understand that supporting and
leading are two different roles that practitioners can take when it comes to children s play. When we
control or take over a child s play, they are violating the basic principles of play being self chosen and
self directed by the child. When children lose the freedom to explore openly, the experience loses its
meaning. Instead we can support children s play by being involved and engaged in their play, but not
taking over, allowing them to build up themselves, engage in learning and exploration can provide
opportunities to help them expand their experiences. By being involved, children learn that adults are
invested in them and respect their play decisions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I have to make sure I am paying attention to the environment and structure because when you
structure an environment based on a child s strengths, abilities and needs, it can enhance their normal
play and help them to be successful and independent. When supporting a play based learning
approach, it is important that children s knowledge and understanding are being challenged through
materials that extend upon their current experiences or understanding. Providing choices is also an
important way of supporting a play based approach to learning because giving children the freedom to
make their own choices is not only empowering, but it also supports them to lead their own learning
experiences based on their interests and

Personal Narrative-The Traumatic Events That Changed My Life
He ran into the house screaming for my mother with tears flowing down his eyes. That was the first
time I saw my dad cry. He had no visible injuries, so what was wrong? My mind was so fixated on
that question that I didn t even notice my parents leaving until my mom shouted, I m taking your dad
to the hospital! Then the door closed. I was alone, in the middle of the night unable to fathom what
could ve possibly happened to send him to the ER. Hours passed without me receiving a call,
eventually I fell asleep with tears falling on my pillow, hearing the sounds of my brothers unwittingly
sleeping in the next room. It was 3AM when I groggily woke up to the sound of my phone ringing, it

My dad changed, it felt like someone took him and tried putting someone new into his shoes. He
became more irritable, frustrated quicker, and bitter. Just like my dad s change, I started changing too.
I became emotionally detached from my friends but at the same time found myself blinking away
tears when someone mentioned their dad. Interests and dreams that I use to have no longer became
important to me, life seemed irrelevant. I knew that with a traumatic event like this, that I needed to
allow myself time to heal. With time I got to reflect about life and learn things on my own. Like in
moments of weakness, you can discover strengths. For me that was music. I learned how to take all
the numerous emotions I felt and poured them out on the violin. Nowadays I still do this and it helps
me release stress while improving as a better musician. I learned the importance of not taking life for
granted because nobody is promised tomorrow. Life is unexpected and you never know when your
time will run out or when it will suddenly change. Making my life worthwhile is now one of my
mantras, I always push myself out of my comfort zones like going to haunted house, down tall roller
coasters, or trying out for competitions that I m under qualified for. I now never underestimate the
power of a hug. Many times after my dad s stroke I found it hard to talk to him because he was in pain
so I would give

Compare And Contrast The Renaissance And Reformation
Western civilization found its origins in the ancient world of Greece and Rome. Although these laid
the foundation for governmental, philosophical, and structural elements of the modern world, people s
day to day life remained the same. The Renaissance and Reformation transformed the mind of the
ancient man into the individualist of today. We will explore this transformation through three key
steps: the philosophy of the time, the condition of the Catholic Church, and finally, the cultures
response.
Art and humanism marked the core of the Renaissance. Together they changed at morphed society into
something different. The ancient world, and specifically the Middle Ages, kept the layman in poverty

inconsistency tied Catholic rule and ideology together. When the lay people stood against the

Construction Of Construction Technology And Safety Essay
Since ancient times all the way to the present day there have been monumental advances in
construction technology and safety, from the techniques and methods of construction to the equipment
used in construction which wasn t revolutionized during the industrial revolution. The only constant
throughout all the aforementioned advancements is the use of scaffolding, from ancient times where
sockets in the walls around the Paleolithic cave paintings at Lascaux, the Berlin Foundry Cup depicts
scaffolding in ancient Greece (early 5th century BC), the ancient Egyptians, Nubians and Chinese are
also recorded as having used scaffolding like structures to build tall buildings. Early scaffolding was
made of wood and secured with rope knots. All the way to the present day where scaffolding has
enclosed and has been used to repair the dome of the Capital of the United States of America or even
The Statue of Libetry, construction workers around the world are using temporary work platforms
(scaffolds) to reach areas where work must be done which by any other means would be otherwise
unfeasible. Along with the advancements in construction technology and safety so has scaffolding
changed with the times, form the make up of the materials used, to the requirements demanded of the
builders in order for the scaffold to be deemed safe for use. This paper will discuss: Different types of

How I Enhanced My Citation Skills
The semester has been a learning experience and an adjustment. The Gender Bending in Rock, Pop,
and Hip Hop course was an eye opening and informative experience. It not only taught me about
gender bending, various talented artists, and styles of music but also a multitude of writing techniques
and elements. These writing elements have helped me further strengthen my writing ability. There are
two elements that I have found to be extremely helpful throughout numerous writing assignments are
citations and supporting paragraphs. In this essay I will talk about how I enhanced my citation skills,
learned the power of supporting paragraphs and can pass the knowledge onto others.
To have a strong impact on a reader and really cause them to think, change their minds, or learn
something new, as the writer, it is important to have strong supporting paragraphs. This was something
that I had previous knowledge of before it was discussed in class. Supporting paragraphs are used to
help the reader get the point that is trying to be made. They provide the thesis with the supporting
evidence that it needs. The thesis is the road map and the supporting paragraphs are the pit stops along
the way to the final destination. Each pit stop, has an adventure making the overall journey a true
learning experience. I applied this concept to my own work when writing the research blog. The goal
of my blog was to inform people about some misconceptions of feminism and what feminism is. The

Rock Hard Abs Research Paper
.Doing crnches or working on an ab machine will get rid of belly fat.
You have to work out all the surrounding areas to tighten up and most likely change the existing eating
habits to a healthier diet. I think the media pushes this myth because a lot of people want to think its
that simple and they will buy what ever machine or exercise plan that claims to give you rock hard abs

abs are a very difficult area of muscle to visually achieve and it takes more diet and work all around

no pain no gain This is a dangerous quote to feed off of. It shouldn t hurt to workout or exercise and if
it does then there is something wrong or an underlying issue that needs to be addressed before

The various procedures and tests will help determine if the ACL is torn. In some cases, the orthopedic
surgeon may begin with simple non surgical methods including applying ice packs, taking pain
medication or minimizing movement of the knee.
The non surgical approach can help reduce swelling and relieve pain. The non surgical methods help
in preparing for surgery for ACL tear. The wait period allows for reduced swelling and the elimination
of bleeding in the torn ACL. The surgery for ACL tear is used to provide an optimal outcome returning
the individual back to a normal, healthy lifestyle.
Rehabilitation Recovery
The rehabilitation and recovery process will vary with each individual. In some more severe cases, full
recovery from surgery for ACL tear may take over nine months. The best orthopedic surgeon will
work to achieve an optimal outcome for the patient on an individualized basis.
The rehabilitation and physical therapy will help increase the range of motion in the knee area to help
return the patient back to a normal lifestyle. Strengthening exercises are often used to achieve this
goal. During this time after the surgery for ACL tear, a protective knee brace may be prescribed to
help reduce the stress on the injured

The Lockheed Toad Analysis
From cradle to grave, our minds change in response to interactions and experiences we have.
Interactions with other humans have the most effect in who we are and how we perceive and react to
the world around us. In Gerald Haslam s short story The Horned Toad, young Gerald learns many life
lessons as a result of his grandmother when she comes to live with him and his family. At first, a great
deal of tension exists between Gerald and his grandmother, which causes displeasure for them both.
As they adjust to their new situation, the way they understand each other becomes less hostile.

between them, and the harsh interactions they have before they warm up to each other. After their
relationship improves, Gerald brings the toad to her again, and Grandmother s reaction is directly
opposite to what it was the first time. Hola, senor sangre de ojos (page 5). Far from showing outrage
or fear, Grandmother makes a joke. This interaction is much softer both to the toad and in response to
Gerald than the one before. Though Grandmother still speaks in spanish, Gerald understands her. This
is symbolic of the fact that despite the grandmother not changing her root personality, Gerald still

The Embodiment Of Tradition In Kate Chopin s The Awakening

we must pass in order to reach the zenith of our long and arduous journey to self realization. One in
particular is the decision to stay grounded in the relative safety of the earth or attempt to soar high in
the vast sky amongst the birds and clouds. Many do not dare leave the comforts of the grass, haunted
by the swift and deathly fall that is sure to follow and therefore mark anyone foolhardy to try as idiotic

Therefore, maintaining peace and avoiding warfares became ever more important because it would be
much risky for the Northern Song to get involved in warfares when the direct cost would be a heavy
loss of the fertile areas of the prosperous economy supported by the highly developed agriculture,
without those barren lands as buffer zones. During the processes of warfares, the Northern Song, as a
state which counted on civil administration to produce wealth, had to spend a huge amount of wealth

From the very begging The sun sets in molten gold. The evening clouds from a jade disk, it is natural
but wrong for us to speculate that this poem is really about everlasting joy filled in Linan (Southern
Song s capital). On the contrary, she then directly expresses her sadness by This feast of Lanterns

nostalgia that I remember the happy days in the old capital. Then she declined her friend s invitation,
preferred to stay beyond the curtains and listened to talk and laughter she could no longer share.
Apparently, this poem vividly depicts the contradictory situation between the happiness in the city and
the sadness on her mind and it creates an independent and stubborn female image in a period when
women s social and familial status was relatively menial. Qingzhao even aggressively criticized the
rulers of escaping to the south instead of fighting against Jin. Not only her writing style became bold,
audacious, and mighty, but also her personality became indomitable she had a divorce with her second
husband who abused her, which is hardly seen in Song times when women are suppressed to a state
that it is illegal for women to sue their husbands. Basically, Li Qingzhao displays her strong female

Legalization of Same-Sex Marriage
Gay Marriage Gay marriage has become more and more important to more and more people in the
recent past. Many people want gay people to be allowed to get married. They say that marriage is a
right, not a privilege. People who oppose gay marriage say that marriage is defined as a union of one
man and one woman. Many people, who otherwise are very supportive of a homosexual s rights, say
that they shouldn t be allowed to marry simply because two people of the same sex can t get married.
According to The Washington Post a record high of fifty nine percent of Americans say that they
support gay marriage while only thirty four percent say that they are opposed to it. When asked to
consider The Constitution and what it says about equal rights, the numbers are similar but not the
same. When considering what the Constitution says, fifty percent of people say the Constitution
guarantees anyone the right to marry while forty one percent say it does not. As far as allowing same
sex marriage from state to state, 17 allow same sex marriage while 33 ban it by state law,
Constitutional amendment, or both. Let me start by defining the word marriage. According to the
Encyclopedia Britannica, marriage is a legally and socially sanctioned union, usually between a man
and a woman, that is regulated by laws, rules, customs, beliefs, and attitudes that prescribe the rights
and duties of the partners and accords status to their offspring . Many argue that a homosexual couple

The Foreclosure Nightmare
The American Dream is always becoming bigger and bigger. Since the end of World War II the United
States has been obsessed with suburbia and America s people have been building and borrowing ever
more. The early years of this decade may have paved the way for every family to get a piece of the
American Dream, but as we can all see, in the past couple of years, the financing options that enabled
just about everyone to own a home were not options that were good for those consumers or the United
States economy. Federal Regulation and more education are the only way to be politically correct
while preventing people from buying more home than they can afford and educate them so they may
make the smart choice in purchasing a home. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These strict income to debt ratios may seem unfair to a consumer looking for that American Dream.
Consumers would notice an extremely small scope of home choices especially with a low income.
However unfair it may be to a consumer, it is a policy that will protect both the lender and consumer.
The consumer will also benefit from a home that they know they can afford every month, with money
left over each month to spend (Vintage New Media). Going beyond qualifications for borrowers, the
products lenders have available need to be evaluated. Adjustable rate mortgages provide a borrower
with a low initial interest rate in the initial period, which is an advantage over a fixed rate loan.
Disadvantages of an adjustable rate mortgage however, have become obvious over the past years.
People are allowed to purchase homes that are larger and more expensive than what they could afford
with a fixed rate loan. Interest rate increases may increase depending on the state of the economy, and
monthly payments will most likely increase beyond the borrowers ability to pay (Bank of America).
Therefore, these loans need to be evaluated in their terms and conditions regarding the borrower. With
such an unstable loan, it would be smart for the lender to avoid selling these loans to high risk
consumers. However, during the hay day (2003 2005) of sub prime lending, these loans were often
sold to consumers with FICO scores below 620 (NPR). So lenders themselves are at fault for

Essay On Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Located on the X chromosome lies a gene whose improper function would take from us what we often
sloppily overlook our mobility. The freedom to dance with poise, to run with agility, to dress one s
self, to bend over and scoop a dropped pencil off the floor are all motions which are only dreamt of by
those with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. An X linked recessive disorder which can be exhibited in
both males and females, DMD is most prominent in males, affecting 3500 boys in the world
(McKusick). DMD affects muscle skeletal, smooth, and cardiac by causing degeneration (McKusick).
Diagnosis occurs around five years old, and by age ten, a wheelchair is often necessary for the patient.

Sixty percent of patients with DMD have a dystrophin gene which holds a deletion (Bulman et al.
457). Another six to ten percent of patients have a dystrophin gene which contains a duplication of one
or more exons (Bulman et al. 457). Along with these mutations, other mapping techniques have been
used to distinguish further disruptions in the dystrophin gene which seem to cause DMD. Western
blotting techniques have been used to identify nonsense mutations on the dystrophin gene (Bulman et
al. 458). Polymerase chain sequencing has been used to find a mutation in exon 26 (Bulman et al.
458). Southern analysis revealed that another gene problem which leads to DMD is a premature chain
termination, which results in a truncated dystrophin protein (Clemens et al. 1781). These are all
mutations found in patients with DMD, which shows that there are various ways the dystrophin gene
can be affected. Each of these mutations cause a problem in that they do not function correctly when
coding for the protein dystrophin.
The malfunction of the protein dystrophin is responsible for the symptoms of DMD. If the dystrophin
gene functions correctly, the normal allele codes for the production of the protein dystrophin ( NCBI ).
This is a high molecular weight protein, and it is in .002% of the total proteins. Normally, the
dystrophin protein functions inside muscle cells, providing structural support. It anchors parts of the

Analysis Of The Star Spangled Banner
As our national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner is more than familiar to us Americans. For most of
the times, we feel a sense of patriotism when the tune rises. Usually, our society confirms that the
lyrics of the national anthem promote a sense of praise to our nation. This makes people rarely
examine what other messages our national anthem wants to pass to us. However, Jimi Hendrix, the
renowned rock guitarist from the late 1960s, interpreted our national anthem in a very different
perspective. He used different sound effects and crafted special emphasis throughout his recreation of
the song in the Woodstock music festival for one purpose celebrating the freedom of expression in this
country. The presentation of optimistic and pessimistic viewpoints throughout the performance
signifies the listeners the praise to the freedom of expression in America the spirit which enables us to
grow from our struggles. As American citizens, we have the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner at our
fingertips. However, most of us never think about what these words stand for. Usually, we generalize
the entire song to symbolize American patriotism with the often positive sounding accompaniment.
Nevertheless, Jimi Hendrix s recreation of the Star Spangled Banner, is pressuring his audiences to
closely examine the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner.
A very special structural characteristic of this song, as you might not have noticed before, is that it
constantly asks questions. For example,

When someone refers a tattoo by a body art, I know that they somewhat either have some themselves

just ignore the fact of you mentioning tattoos. These situations are rather common from what I can

conversation was around two adults about one of their teenager, don t ask me if it was a teenage boy

Surprise, surprise, the one that said body arts had two sleeves while the other didn t have any visible

Advantages Of A Model Contract
Model Contract
A model contract can be described as an agreement between the parties which are data exporter and
the data importer, which covers lot of important aspects for not only to communicators but also to data

kind of an agreement for each and every country to which it sends and receives data. Usually model
contracts tend to be better suited for small and medium sized enterprises that do not have very large

Given that the crash was ruled a terrorist attack, identification of all substances found on and in the
bodies and luggages of the victims needed to be made. To do this, empirical and molecular formulas
were put into use when determining substance identities. Each substance was tested to find the percent
composition of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen, and then used to find the empirical formula of
the substance by using 100 grams of each substance to represent 100% made up by the elements

Victims number 6 and 10 were both found with matching substances, in their bloodstream and pocket,
respectively, composed of 75.42% carbon, 6.63% hydrogen, 8.38% nitrogen, and 9.57% oxygen
(Table 2). The steps described above to find the molecular formula were taken, and the molecular
formula was found to be C21H22N2O2, or strychnine, commonly known as rat poisoning, a substance
highly toxic to humans. From this data, it can be concluded that victim number 10 had murdered
victim number 6 with the strychnine, as it was found in victim 10 s pocket and victim 6 s bloodstream,

Deafness Has Been A Negative Label. Being Deaf Is Considered
Deafness has been a negative label. Being Deaf is considered to be a disability solely on the belief that

there are any benefits or positives from being Deaf, nor do they believe that a Deaf individual will

explains that, being exposed to two languages from birth and in particular, being exposed to a signed

monolingual hearing English children (Petitto, 2001). Sign language also helps individuals master

Edgar Allen Poe s The Fall of The House of Usher tells a story of fear and madness through the events
that unfold. The story follows an unnamed narrator that receives a letter from a childhood friend
Roderick Usher. Roderick has asked the narrator for help in his illness described as a sensory disorder
(Poe 665), that gives him heightened senses to sound, light, smell, and taste. The Usher family is
referred to as a very ancient family and has only furthered its lineage through incest. Roderick has a

While Alcibiades sustained an ongoing relationship with the people, it continued as an imbalance.
Alcibiades s lifestyle became public knowledge, and his luxurious behavior was exposed and not
particularly desirable to most Athenians, especially the conservative Athenians. This manifested a
discontent among the people, which only furthered the love hate relationship that Alcibiades had with

Alcibiades used every situation to elevate himself and establish superiority, which enhanced the type
of unbalanced relationship he had with the people for most of his lifetime. Alcibiades s unethical
practices in both political and private life were questionable. He sought after pleasures and naturally
deceived many, making him a great politician, but dubious as a virtuous man. Plutarch wrote,
Certainly, if ever man was ruined by his own glory, it was Alcibiades (287). The ambitions and
passions in Alcibiades life that went unchecked resulted in the imbalance in his life both private and
public. Although he befriended Socrates early and strove for true honor and real virtue, the rest of his
life unfolded in a vicious way, rather than influenced by virtue. Alcibiades adapted to both good and
bad, vice and virtue, establishing a strong inconsistency in his morals as well as his character
altogether. The central image of this life was certainly a chameleon. Plutarch wrote, Not that his
natural disposition changed so easily, nor that his real character was so variable, but, whether he was
sensible that by pursuing his own inclinations he might give offense to those with whom he had
occasion to converse, he transformed himself into any shape, and adopted any fashion, that he
observed to be most agreeable (275 276). Alcibiades morphed into whatever it took, whether he was
around different people or aiding another nation, he made sure to adapt to his surroundings that also
helped further his own self interest as well. Earlier in the life, Plutarch wrote that Alcibiades was
neither completely virtuous nor vicious and as the life continued this never became clearer. Alcibiades
always maintained a neutral position in between vice and virtue. Although Socrates attempted to alter
Alcibiades and positively affect his soul, this change never happened, thus resulting

Symbolism In Lunchbox
On a daily basis, people are affected by infrastructures. When thinking about infrastructure, a physical
operation such as freeways and transportation comes to mind; however, infrastructures are not limited
to such restrictions. An infrastructure is a system that combines its physical form with symbolism.
Infrastructures demonstrate the relationship from the past and future, affect people s lives, and have a
deeper meaning underneath the physical surface. This can be better understood from the reading
Infrastructure Toolbox and noticed in the film Lunchbox.
One s culture is highly influenced by the past. It creates and explains their tradition while ultimately
determining what the future holds. For instance, food plays a crucial role in culture especially for the
people of Bombay/Mumbai; which is where the film Lunchbox takes placed. The film focuses on a
delivering system that acts as an infrastructure. This system is made up of people delivering home
cooked meals and meals from restaurants at the consumer s job for their lunch. One major reason why
the people of Mumbai utilizes this system is to maintain their tradition of having warm home cooked
meals despite them being at work. This displays the importance of family to them. The food
symbolizes the feeling of being connected and together despite the distance. These lunchboxes are
able to keep the tradition of having a hot home cooked meal alive. Because of the old tradition, this
new concept of delivering lunch boxes

Consumer Choice or Influential Factors in Purchasing Products

Need Recognition Recognition of need usually occurs when a consumer is faced with a problem or
awareness of a need. In reviewing this week s assignment, I considered my recent purchase of a 2011
Chevy HHR. Although the automobile purchase was a major decision in itself, I had to face the
dilemma of purchasing (or not) an extended warranty package offered by the dealership. (Schiffman
Kanuk, 2007, p. 532) According to an Internet article by Chen, Kalra, Sun (2009):
Warranties have since become ubiquitous at the checkout aisle, and extended service contracts have
become a core product for retailers, generating about US$15 billion in revenue annually. According to
Business Week, in 2003 warranties accounted for more than half of Best Buy s profit and almost 100

Automobile Protection Plan (GAP), On Gard Theft Protection, and Premier Vehicle Coverage for new,
pre owned and certified vehicles, with a total service contract of $2,990.00 above the purchase price.
There appears to be two different need or problem recognition styles for consumers, which includes
the actual state types, wherein the consumer perceives they have a problem when a product fails to
perform satisfactorily, and the desired state types, for whom the desire for something new may trigger
the decision process. As I was purchasing a new vehicle and very concerned

The Tort And The Civil Wrong
The term tort refers to a civil wrong. The phase tort is Norman French and means wrong. In Anglo
Saxon times tort was established with punishments, for example individuals from clans had to pay for
the civil wrong they executed. During the Norman Conquest there was no contrast between civil
wrongs or general crimes carried out. After the Norman Conquest kings and courts were very
influential and punishments would be decided by them. If any fines of punishment were held the
money would go to the king or the relevant court. After this period any civil wrong that was executed
was either known as a trespass or a tort. Felonies were known as major acts against the law. Writs
were legal written orders and by the thirteenth century became essential for the guidelines of
retribution. There are many elements within tort; the main aspect is what act and what damage has
been committed and not the reason why an individual committed an act. The theory of tort has
developed and evolved during the years. The law today ensures victims of tort with remedies. Tort can
be dealt with in civil courts, county courts or High courts. It depends mainly on the level of
seriousness of a case.
Within tort there is the area of negligence which has many different elements. It can analyse the state
of mind of an individual committing a crime aswell as the harm caused which could include harm
done unintentionally. The approach of tort negligence is related to an individual being harmed through

On May 6th, 1856, Freud was born and soon came to be an Austrian neurologist. Freud was popular
for his different view of the human mind and his practices are well known to this day. When he was
just a child of 4, his family moved to Vienna, Austria and he practiced there for most of his life. In,
1881 Freud got his medical degree then soon started his own private practice. Josef Breuer was a
colleague of Freud at the beginning of his career. Breuer inspired Freud, which lead him to believe
that when a patient has had a traumatic experience in their past, it was latent within their conscious. To
help with the traumatic experience, Freud advised them to remember those experiences and accept

the soccer lessons, in my expiation of the stations as well as on some of my station cue cards it has
warnings about potential dangerous situation that may occur, such as flaying soccer balls, trip over
cones, crashing into someone who is running. I found with these warning verbally being said and

Framing Fundamentals: Shots and Basic Rules of Thumb
Video shots are all about composition. Instead of pointing the camera at your subjects, what you need
to do is to compose an image. Framing is that very process of making forming composition.
Framing techniques are very subjective. What one client finds to be moving may look pointless to
someone else. What you need to look at are industry guidelines which you can refer to as your rules of
thumb.
The rules of video image framing are technically the same for those used in photography.
Fundamental Shots
There is a video industry convention which gives names to the common kinds of shots. The meanings
of each could vary but their purposes are relative. Basic shots are called according to what s applicable
to subjects. For instance, close up shot has to be a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, the subject s head is almost at the top border of the frame while his feet are almost at the bottom.
Called the safety room, this is that small amount of space atop the head and beneath the feet. In this
shot, the subject still does not take the whole frame width.
The midshot shows a bit more details about the subject. This is more like an estimate of how you
would like to see a person in the flesh. Of course, you would not pay attention to the lower portion of
the body, just his face till about his stomach.
The medium close up is a shot that features the face more clearly.
Extreme close up shots are those that show extreme details of a subject. The ECU should effectively
convey emotion. The cutaway shot is that shot that gives you an idea of what is happening outside of
the present action. This is often a different subject or, at times, a CU of a part of the subject.
Basic Framing Rules
Find vertical and horizontal lines on the frame such as poles or horizon. Ascertain that these are at
level unless you are trying to achieve the tilted

The Italian Renaissance And The Renaissance
The Italian Renaissance was an explosion of art, writing, and thought, that roughly lasted between
1300 to 1600. In this time each citizen, countrymen, or villager had and performed different jobs and
careers. Humanism the study of Greek and Roman writings, art, and architecture, initially jump started
the Renaissance, and the need for art. Artists now were inspired to use life like art and linear
perspective, so art seemed and was more realistic. The start of the Italian Renaissance was the start of
a new world and culture for Europe.
During the Italian Renaissance the citizens and people of Italy were just now changing their mindsets
on life. There was a celebration of life and the human spirit by survivors of the Bubonic Plague ...

First, the Italian artists and scholars pulled inspiration from the Roman ruins that surrounded them.
Second, western scholars studied ancient Latin writings and manuscripts that over the years were
preserved in monasteries. Third, when the Turks conquered Constantinople in 1453, Christian scholars
fled with Greek manuscripts to Rome.
This new study of the ancient world led to humanism. Humanism was an intellectual movement that
focused on human achievements and potential. Humanists studied the classic texts to understand
ancient Greek values. The word humanist and humanism come from the Latin word humanitas, which
refers to the literary culture that every educated person should possess. Humanists study subjects
common to classical education; such as history, literature, and philosophy along with rhetoric. These
subjects are considered the Humanities. These classical traditions were passed on by humanists to
artists and architects.
The advantage that Italy had was the smaller city states. The smaller city states allowed more citizens
to be involved in politics besides the arts. Humanism suggested that a person can enjoy life without
offending God. The wealthy enjoyed good music, fine foods, and material luxuries. Now the spirit of
the Renaissance was secular meaning worldly. Italians were concerned with the here and now and
moved away from the church and pope. But along with the Italians the church leaders also lived in
beautiful mansions, and

Descriptive Experience Of A Museum
When I first saw the museum I was amazed because the museum is surrounded by such beautiful
environment, being around such green grass, trees, and the sea although it was quite a way away from
the museum. The exterior of the museum, in my opinion, was a very cool be modelled after Roman
architecture. After entering in the lobby, I found it to be very orderly and the security gave me a sense
that the museum was heavenly guarded. After walking around the interior of the museum, with
security guards in every room, I found that it was just as great as the exterior. The interior was
amazing because each room was wide and each painting or sculpture was organized by country and
artist making a very order museum atmosphere which allowed viewers to think about the artworks.
Another thing about the inside of the museum was that each room was painted and lighted to not clash
with the artworks in the room, allowing viewers from all around the world to see the true beauty of the
artwork without the room messing up their perception of the paintings or sculptures.
The first of the paintings I going to write about is the Allée at Schloss Kammer. The Allée at Schloss
Kammer is an oil painting which was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1912 making it one of his late
works. The painting had powerful spots of color, with a semi rough texture I think, and showed a
multiple trees overlapping a castle creating a very beautiful painting. After reading the painting s label
I found that the castle was a

Those who couldn t find work chose to use their skill in the only way they knew how that could still earn them a living: piracy (gohistory.com). Piracy was based on skill and was the only thing left for people who had to deal with the after effect of the war between the Spanish and the English. The type of skills werecriminal activites such as stealing, killing and taking over the sea s. In the 1500 s Spain ruled the oceans and established the colonies in America. Spain was the birth place from where piracy had originated. This form of piracy was also known as buccaneerings. • 3. Sept by Step Instruction in Designing a Wide Area Network... Introduction The purpose of this project is to design a WAN (wide area network) using a Cisco Packet Tracer simulation. The Step by step instructions included in this project are designed to help provide an inside view of how to design any type of network using the Cisco Packet Tracer network simulation software. In addition i will also be looking at other software s that are similar to the Cisco Packet Tracer and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the software. I will also be looking into the types of network devices needed to design a WAN. Finally, I into the types of network architecture, network topologies and security management suitable for my design network project. Literature Reviews As the networks of computing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Two of these individuals were James Gross and Mesut Güneş. They initially produced a package labelled NS. This was followed by NS2 then by NS3, each version an improvement on the package before. These were virtual applications where the designers sought to model networks in a manner that best suited available network research, and the authors collective experiences. These packages were capable of designing a network, and some terminology and components used are common to all discrete event simulation systems. Unfortunately, there is no standardised set of terms and the naming can vary in literature making the packages not entirely user friendly; ( the NS3 for example uses programing labelled C++ and the main networking commands were known by only a few IT specialists). Packet Tracer Software and Activities The requirement for a user friendly package was met by the Cisco Lab. The Cisco Packet Tracer is a self paced, visual, interactive teaching and learning tool developed by Cisco Lab. The relative ease with which this package can be used makes it ideal for students as well as for professional use. A further benefit is that Packet Tracer provides a visual simulation of equipment and network processes to offset the challenge of limited equipment, (often a problem in schools and universities). Students can spend as much time as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Coso Range Shamanism The Coso Mountain Range is located at the intersection of the Great Basin and California culture area just above the eastern California desert. This region was left with arroyo walls, lava flows and pyroclastic boulders covered with petroglyphs of zoomorphic and anthropomorphic images (127). Petroglyphs are images created by carving, pecking or incising images into rock surfaces. The most common rock art element found in the Coso Range is that of bighorn sheep (129). Although bighorn sheep images were common in other parts of the Great Basin and the Southwest, these elements were seen in far greater quantities in the Coso Range. The bighorn sheep image represents more than half of the 100,000 rock art elements discovered in this region. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This model suggest that bighorn sheep represent mythical spirit helpers that were in the center of shamanistic activities, including hallucinations and trances. Since bighorn sheep held a minimal role in the diet during the late Haiwee and early Marana Period, rituals performed resulted in images of bighorn sheep being carved to attract rain to the Coso Range as a means to increase productivity of plants. It was said that Numic men would enter a dream states or drug induced trances during rain rituals. The mental imprints obtained during these experiences were transcribed as rock art images. These images were thought to portray transformation of men into spirit helpers or bighorn sheep. These half anthropomorphic, half zoomorphic figures recorded were featured as evidence, however, problems arose with this model. For instance, this model required the rock art to have been created post 1000BP, since the model proposes that Numic groups from the Great Basin were the ones that brought these rituals. However, the Numic Expansion did not occur until 1000BP and bighorn sheep petroglyphs seem to have developed in the Coso Range prior to the Numic Expansion. Also, the hallucinogens that produce the particular sequence that some have argued these images capture were not available in prehistoric North America. In addition, the ethnographic footing of this model is challenged since no ethnographic connection has been proposed between the native people and the pecked images of bighorn sheep for rain making. Some ethnographic accounts connect shamanism with the Coso region, weather control as a shamanic activity, rain shamans with bighorn spirit helpers and rock art with shamans, but no particular ethnographic evidence has been made to connect all concepts. • 6. Cannibalism Can Be Defined As The Intentional Consumption... Cannibalism can be defined as the intentional consumption of the flesh or organs of a member of one s own species. According to National Geographic, the term Cannibal originates from the Carib Indians of the Caribbean. The Carib Indians were accused by their neighboring people as being very fierce and of eating people. The Spanish had a problem pronouncing the letter r in Carib, so they pronounced it as Canib and eventually Canibales . Cannibalism is a real taboo of western society and the mere thought of it brings about a combination of fascination and revulsion. Most anthropologists today believe that the practice of cannibalism has been a part of human behavior long before it actually became recorded as history. Throughout history, human beings have dined on human flesh. Whether it was part of war to gain the enemy s strength, or as a means to terrify opponents, cannibalism goes back a long way. These days we mostly see cannibalism in the form or sadistic serial killers or mentally deranged people performing an animalistic act. We fail to look into the societies where cannibalism is a cultural norm and is an example of functionalism. There are an abundance of civilizations that took part in cannibalistic acts. There are different reasons for different societies practicing cannibalism including dealing with enemies, to grieve the loss of loved ones, to gain powers or attributes from the deceased, and ridding the body of demons. • 7. Millian Principles, Freedom of Expression, and Hate Speech Speech that attacks a person or group of people on the basis of race, gender, or sexual orientation is regarded as hateful. It has the potential to incite violence or prejudicial action against or by a protected group of people. In Millian Principles, Freedom of Expression, and Hate Speech, Mill makes the claim that essentially all speech, including hate speech, should be allowed. This claim holds its validity as long as no harm is done to an individual. Here, I will show that low value speech fails to engage deliberative views that underlie central first amendment fundamental liberties. Subsequently, I will support these claims by comparing the aspects of hate speech to low value speech. Lastly, I advocate for the prohibition against the use of hate speech in a university setting. In Brink s discussion of, Millian Principles, Freedom of Expression, and Hate Speech, he distinguishes between low value and high value speech. The former is speech that plays no essential role in the exposition of ideas and is of such slight social value as a step to the truth that any benefit is outweighed by the social interest in order and morality. Examples of low value speech include threats, fighting words, incitement of illegal activity, libel, and obscenity. In contrast, high value speech is speech that contributes to public discourse. Moreover, it possesses content based restrictions that are subject to strict scrutiny, laws that are necessary to meet a state interest. Throughout the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a child I loved reading and it was something I did every day without even thinking about it. However, due to negative experiences in school I lost my love for reading and it was something I grew up resenting. I am so delighted to be redeveloping my love for reading because I forgot just how relaxing it was and how digging into a good book can make you feel as if you are one of the characters in the story. I think my love of reading as a child developed because my mom read to me. It was something I did every night. However, once Scholastic Reader tests started my love of reading changed into resentment for reading, as I was never able to read what I wanted. As soon as my book options were taken from me and I was forced to only read books I could take tests on I just stopped reading. This is a trend that happened all throughout middle school because I was required to take Scholastic tests every single year through eighth grade. Then once high school came along I was still so angry and had such animosity towards reading I never got back into it. My early experiences really impacted the reader I have become. Due to the fact I stopped reading I went from a strong reader to a not as strong reader. Also, not being a reader has impacted the literate person I am. One of Boyer s big points of why the minds of humans have ghost concepts, is merely genetics. Boyer believes it s likely that during some point in evolution, some humans minds got more open to ghost concepts. The idea of people s minds being open to ghost concepts could explain why many early civilizations took care of burring their dead in a respectable manor. Boyer also states that ghost concepts could be intuitive. That the thought of ghosts produce inferences and assumptions of ghost as normal. People will think ghost are real, just because they are think about the idea of ghost. Boyer says the theory of mind requires people to communicate with each other to develop inference about ghosts. In order to support a play based approach to learning it is important to understand that supporting and leading are two different roles that practitioners can take when it comes to children s play. When we control or take over a child s play, they are violating the basic principles of play being self chosen and self directed by the child. When children lose the freedom to explore openly, the experience loses its meaning. Instead we can support children s play by being involved and engaged in their play, but not taking over, allowing them to build up themselves, engage in learning and exploration can provide opportunities to help them expand their experiences. The only constant throughout all the aforementioned advancements is the use of scaffolding, from ancient times where sockets in the walls around the Paleolithic cave paintings at Lascaux, the Berlin Foundry Cup depicts scaffolding in ancient Greece (early 5th century BC), the ancient Egyptians, Nubians and Chinese are also recorded as having used scaffolding like structures to build tall buildings. Early scaffolding was made of wood and secured with rope knots. All the way to the present day where scaffolding has enclosed and has been used to repair the dome of the Capital of the United States of America or even The Statue of Libetry, construction workers around the world are using temporary work platforms (scaffolds) to reach areas where work must be done which by any other means would be otherwise unfeasible. These writing elements have helped me further strengthen my writing ability. There are two elements that I have found to be extremely helpful throughout numerous writing assignments are citations and supporting paragraphs. In this essay I will talk about how I enhanced my citation skills, learned the power of supporting paragraphs and can pass the knowledge onto others. To have a strong impact on a reader and really cause them to think, change their minds, or learn something new, as the writer, it is important to have strong supporting paragraphs. This was something that I had previous knowledge of before it was discussed in class. Supporting paragraphs are used to help the reader get the point that is trying to be made. They provide the thesis with the supporting evidence that it needs. The thesis is the road map and the supporting paragraphs are the pit stops along the way to the final destination. Each pit stop, has an adventure making the overall journey a true learning experience. I applied this concept to my own work when writing the research blog. The Embodiment Of Tradition In Kate Chopin s The Awakening Brian Sandoval 10/27/17 Mr. Amoroso AP Literature Pd. 3 Awakening LAP Topic 4 Life has an abundance of crossroads that we must pass in order to reach the zenith of our long and arduous journey to self realization. One in particular is the decision to stay grounded in the relative safety of the earth or attempt to soar high in the vast sky amongst the birds and clouds. Many do not dare leave the comforts of the grass, haunted by the swift and deathly fall that is sure to follow and therefore mark anyone foolhardy to try as idiotic for even thinking of accomplishing the impossible. Yet who is the fool; the person brave enough to soar, willing to risk the unrecoverable drop down or the person who has already resigned to their position in the plains, content with this fate? Edna Pontellier, the main protagonist of Kate Chopin s The Awakening, is conflicted by this choice after she has plucked the already fragmenting mask society has made her wear and shattered it. Now aware of the façade and free of ignorance, Edna seeks guidance from her close confidants in order steer herself in the right direction. Through the conversation had with Adele Ratignolle, the embodiment of tradition, and Mademoiselle Reisz, the embodiment of eccentricity, Edna finds the answer to her own confliction. Adele Ratignolle is the perfect representation of the traditional woman of the 1890 s, a woman devoted to her children and husband, the type of woman that Edna is expected to be by ... During the processes of warfares, the Northern Song, as a state which counted on civil administration to produce wealth, had to spend a huge amount of wealth to participate in the warfares while its northern neighbors, as military states which had much lower productivity and counted on invasions and occupations to plunder wealth, did not have much to lose and actually could gain more. Since the end of World War II the United States has been obsessed with suburbia and America s people have been building and borrowing ever more. The early years of this decade may have paved the way for every family to get a piece of the American Dream, but as we can all see, in the past couple of years, the financing options that enabled just about everyone to own a home were not options that were good for those consumers or the United States economy. Federal Regulation and more education are the only way to be politically correct while preventing people from buying more home than they can afford and educate them so they may make the smart choice in purchasing a home. Consumers would notice an extremely small scope of home choices especially with a low income. However unfair it may be to a consumer, it is a policy that will protect both the lender and consumer. The consumer will also benefit from a home that they know they can afford every month, with money left over each month to spend (Vintage New Media). Going beyond qualifications for borrowers, the products lenders have available need to be evaluated. Adjustable rate mortgages provide a borrower with a low initial interest rate in the initial period, which is an advantage over a fixed rate loan. Disadvantages of an adjustable rate mortgage however, have become obvious over the past years. People are allowed to purchase homes that are larger and more expensive than what they could afford with a fixed rate loan. Interest rate increases may increase depending on the state of the economy, and monthly payments will most likely increase beyond the borrowers ability to pay (Bank of America). Therefore, these loans need to be evaluated in their terms and conditions regarding the borrower. With such an unstable loan, it would be smart for the lender to avoid selling these loans to high risk consumers. However, during the hay day (2003 2005) of sub prime lending, these loans were often sold to consumers with FICO scores below 620 (NPR). So lenders themselves are at fault for ... Another six to ten percent of patients have a dystrophin gene which contains a duplication of one or more exons (Bulman et al. 457). Along with these mutations, other mapping techniques have been used to distinguish further disruptions in the dystrophin gene which seem to cause DMD. Western blotting techniques have been used to identify nonsense mutations on the dystrophin gene (Bulman et al. 458). Polymerase chain sequencing has been used to find a mutation in exon 26 (Bulman et al. 458). Southern analysis revealed that another gene problem which leads to DMD is a premature chain termination, which results in a truncated dystrophin protein (Clemens et al. 1781). These are all mutations found in patients with DMD, which shows that there are various ways the dystrophin gene can be affected. Each of these mutations cause a problem in that they do not function correctly when coding for the protein dystrophin. The malfunction of the protein dystrophin is responsible for the symptoms of DMD. If the dystrophin gene functions correctly, the normal allele codes for the production of the protein dystrophin ( NCBI ). For most of the times, we feel a sense of patriotism when the tune rises. Usually, our society confirms that the lyrics of the national anthem promote a sense of praise to our nation. This makes people rarely examine what other messages our national anthem wants to pass to us. However, Jimi Hendrix, the renowned rock guitarist from the late 1960s, interpreted our national anthem in a very different perspective. He used different sound effects and crafted special emphasis throughout his recreation of the song in the Woodstock music festival for one purpose celebrating the freedom of expression in this country. The presentation of optimistic and pessimistic viewpoints throughout the performance signifies the listeners the praise to the freedom of expression in America the spirit which enables us to grow from our struggles.
