Counselling Skills
Evaluate and monitor self in using a counselling approach.
People who experience troubles can receive help for their problems in both formal and informal ways.
An informal helping relationship can be as simple as a chat with a friend while offering advice and
support. The counselling approach differs considerably form formal counselling which this essay will
discuss.
An informal helping relationship may involve counselling skills such as displaying good eye contact
and body language, listening, summarising and paraphrasing but this does not in any way mean they
are a trained counsellor. Formal counselling will involve the counsellor, who is formally trained, and
the client where the sole purpose of the meeting is counselling. The ... Show more content on

This is in keeping with the codes of practice which are in place to ensure the safety of the client and
counsellor. My workplace follows the health and social care code of practice therefore I am aware of
the importance in having these guidelines in place. A client is more inclined to feel free to talk when
they know that what they say will not be disclosed and this should encourage a safe feeling for them.
At the start of the course a working agreement was decided and agreed by the class. This agreement
stated that we should respect and be respected, have the right to be supported, the right to have fun and
most importantly confidentiality. This allowed the class to feel safe to disclose information that may
be of a personal nature. I think that this agreement has been followed and I do feel safer knowing it is
in place especially during the triad exercises.
Many helping relationships occur in everyday life and this course has allowed me to understand the
difference between formal counselling and a counselling approach. I think I have become more self
aware and realise that I am slightly guarded, especially with certain people in my life. The triad
exercises made me quite anxious initially but feel as I gain more experience I am becoming more
comfortable during the sessions. The feedback I have received has been helpful and I do try to
improve on weak areas and I hope that I

Orville Wright Brothers Research Paper
Orville Wright was born in Dayton, Ohio, on August 19, 1871, while Wilbur was born on April 16,
1867 in Millville, Indiana. Orville Wright was considered the main genius behind designing the
airplane. Neither of them attended college, Wilbur did not go because of a skating accident that he
had, and both of them had to earn money after their mother s death. Their heavier than air plane was
made with eight years of research, and one thousand dollars. The brothers were inventors throughout
their entire lives; they created a printing press, a calculator that could multiply, and a simple
typewriter. They also made several items which they never patented, to keep themselves occupied.
Together, they started the industry of aviation worldwide, and they created the basic laws of
aerodynamics. The Wrights got interested into aviation when Otto Lindenthal died. Otto Lindenthal
made several flights with gliders, and he would experience a crash that would lead to his death. ...

Novel Windflower- Western and Eskimo Culture
In the novel the WINDFLOWER, there is a presence of two different cultures the western culture and
the Eskimo culture. In history, we as the readers know that aboriginals were cruelly treated and the
western people tried to assimilate their culture. Interestingly, the author, Gabrielle Roy decided to
portray a part of the Eskimos in the novel, WINDFLOWER, as assimilated to create conflict with
minor characters. The more notable characters that have been shown to defy the western cultures was
only Uncle Ian and Winnie. Even still, many of the Eskimos are shown to believe that the western
culture was the more dominant belief. The effect this had was that the interactions shown with the
minor characters and Elsa. To touch on how the Eskimos thought that the white culture was superior
and many had already assimilated is shown in a subtle touch provided by the first chapter that showed
how accepting the Eskimos were to the close proximity of the whites. In page 6, the author writes,
Nowadays they wore short dresses of flowered cotton, over which floated sweaters as shapeless as
sacks , The effect of something as petty as clothing may not seem like much but it contains a larger
effect than one would expect. These clothes originated from western culture, if the whites were not
present the Eskimos would have been perfectly content with what they had parkas and pretty sealskin
boots of former times (Pg 6). This can infer that the Eskimos already had a mindset of the western

The Influence Of Imperialism In American Imperialism
In the 1890s some Americans were eager to expand. Post Civil War the U.S. was going through a time
where they thought that they were lagging behind other nations in terms of expansionism. America felt
that they were lacking what they needed in order to become a powerhouse. Many Americans, like
Theodore Roosevelt or Alfred Thayer Mahan, were imperialists who wanted to acquire land/territories
for the U.S. The United States sought to find their identity as a nation in the world. American Identity
to imperialists can be defined as patriotism, military power, and dominance/hegemony. This was
controversial because some Americans were anti imperialists who did not believe in expansionism, but
in defending the Constitution. This brought about both supporters and opponents of imperialism
during the Spanish American War. Manifest Destiny is defined as the 19th century belief that
expansion of the U.S. throughout the American continents were both justified and inevitable. This God
given right fueled western settlement and imperialistic belief. Imperialist Senator Albert Beveridge,
September 1898, made a speech that stated the flag of liberty will circle the globe...benighted peoples
will know the voice of liberty is speaking...civilization is dawning. This demonstrates the belief of
expanding to territories around the globe. Charles Denby wrote a forum in November 1898 titled Shall
we keep the Phillipines. In the Forum, Denby is talking about the epoch known as the Battle

Puerto Rico-American Culture Essay
Puerto Rico is a commonwealth island that it is under the United States government. However, this
island counts with their own culture and history. In the website Countries and their Cultures I found an
article called Puerto Rican American by Derek Green. I chose this article because I found it very
interesting. The article states that Puerto Rico is located in the Caribbean Sea and was discovered by
Christopher Columbus 1493 and between 1460 152 Juan Ponce de Leon was the first colonial
governor. In 1898 Spain ceded the island to the United States because of the Spanish American War.
In 1925 the United Sates government declared all Puerto Rican as a citizen of the United States.
According to the article, Puerto Rico is unique in their traditions, customs, and belief. Mr. Derek says
that many Puerto Rican customs and superstitions blend the Catholic religious traditions of Spaniards
and the pagan religious beliefs of the West African slaves who were brought to the island beginning in
the sixteenth century. Though most Puerto Ricans are strict Roman Catholics, local customs have
given a Caribbean flavored to some standard Catholic ceremonies. Among these are weddings,
baptisms, and funerals. Like other Caribbean islanders and Latin Americans, Puerto Ricans
traditionally believe in spiritism, the notion that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Arranged Marriages In America
Throughout society, marriage is seen as a special symbol of two people becoming one.
In the eastern side of the world, arranged marriages are very common. It is not like the western world
where couples date to know each other then choose whether they are the perfect match. Arranged
marriages are often chosen by the elders in the family. This practice has been handed down for
centuries. Throughout the marriage process, there are certain procedures that must be followed in
eastern matchmaking. Once a match has been chosen, the couple will learn over time that commitment
and acceptance comes prior to emotions and happiness. Even though our western ways may seem
normal to us, the traditions of eastern marriages are custom through procedure, commitment and
acceptance within their society.
While every traditional marriage may be different, the eastern custom has chosen to abide by long
established procedures. These procedures consist of family members who decide on what is best for
their offspring. The decisions which are considered range from family values, education, wealth, and
physical appearance. This practice has worked well for the union of marriage for the two chosen
individuals. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Peer Leadership Essay
Peer Leadership Final: Section Two
1. The Retreat This was one of the best experiences that I had all year. I loved just about every part of
it. Going into the retreat, I was nervous. I worried about the school that I was missing, if I had packed
enough, if I was going to like the food, if I was going to feel a part of the group, etc. But I faced it
head on and had an absolutely incredible experience. Firstly, I really enjoyed not having phones. It
was weird for me to not be able to reach into my pocket to check the time or to check up on what was
happening back in Burlington. It allowed to to really cherish the moment and focus on spending my
time with the nineteen other people that I was with. Each activity that we did on the retreat was a ton
of fun and equally valuable for me, but I will highlight just my favorites. One of the things that I loved
most from the retreat was the one on one talks. I am someone who doesn t tend to be great at sitting
down with someone and really getting to know them and having deep conversation with them. When I
did so, I loved it more than words could speak. I am a rather intellectual and thoughtful person, but I
don t tend to share those thoughts. I talked with Lindsey, Cal, Nylah, and Jon Michael. Those
conversations were and still are so special to me. I wish that we had continued to have those randomly
assigned deep talks throughout the year, as they helped me to validate my feelings and to really

Physical Injuries Of A Prophylactic Ankle Brace
One of the most common injuries that is relatively seen in all sports, especially in basketball and
volleyball, is an acute ankle injury that accounts for about 10 to 25 percent of all injuries. Of all these
injuries that occur, almost ¾ of them are related to the lateral structures in our ankle. The most
common and minor form of these injuries is a lateral ankle sprain, which is caused by an inversion
stress to the joint of the ankle. When someone happens to sprain their ankle, the usual preventive
measures by athletic trainers and sports doctors are taken into action such as ankle taping, using of an
ankle brace, strengthening of the ankle, and therapy. Of all these, a prophylactic ankle brace is often
chosen to help reduce the chance of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the factors known to cause these abnormal movements in the joints of the lower extremity is
the use of a prophylactic ankle brace. One doctor was able to discover that using an ankle brace during
athletic performance did not increase the risk of injury. Our research showed that knee biomechanics
known to be risk factors for ACL injury did not appear to be negatively impacted by wearing a lace up
ankle brace. (Aerni, Giselle, 2012). If athletes wear prophylactic ankle braces during athletic
activities, then they are more likely to be subjected to knee injuries. The study will analyze the effect
that prophylactic ankle braces cause to the joints of the knee and determining if it increases the stress
placed on them. The primary function of a prophylactic ankle that is being used is to put a restriction
on the inversion range of motion it usually has, since it is where most injuries occur in an ankle sprain.
What people don t know is that it also decreases your overall performance, total range of motion, and
other kinematics as well. When a player is jumping and landing, the use of an ankle brace significantly
reduces the amount of internal and external rotation you have in your ankle. So, when the rotation of
the subtalar joint in the transverse plane is reduced, your leg and foot aren t able to

Dr. Strangelove And The Cold War
The Cold War was a period of several decades of tension and the threat of nuclear conflict between the
two remaining superpowers that emerged from WWII, the U.S. and the Soviet Union. The 1964 film
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, directed by Stanley
Kubrick, depicts the overlying themes of the Cold War in a comedic fashion. This film s full
embodiment of the Cold War is seen through its representation of the time period, and the sheer
competitiveness between the United States and Russia. Additionally, due to many of Kubrick s movie
decisions, the film has helped society acknowledge and understand the pure absurdity that the topic of
nuclear destruction holds. In Dr. Strangelove, General Jack D. ... Show more content on

General alone goes rogue and sends the missiles toward Russia.
The film delves into some of the difficult options leaders have to choose from in cases involving
nuclear weapons. Nuclear conflicts are very complex, with many scenarios that could potentially
occur. After General Ripper has directed his plane to bomb the enemy, he describes his thought
process to one of his officers, ...when [the president s advisors] realize there is no possibility in
recalling the wing there will be only one course of action: open, total commitment . Later, General
Buck Turgidson, one of the President s top advisors, echoes this exact idea in the war room and
proposes to the U.S. President a full commitment. This was one possible solution that could have
neutralized all of Russia in one wave of nuclear missiles; however, this strategy is frowned upon and
dismissed by the President as it would reflect poorly on the U.S. diplomatic reputation in the long run.
An aspect of the Cold War that Kubrick focuses on is the blatant lack of trust between the conflicting
nations. In a scene where a Russian ambassador is being brought into the war room, General
Turgidson is disturbed by having all of the U.S. plans open in front of the enemy. He exclaims to the
U.S. President, Sir, you can t let him in here. He ll see everything. He ll see the big board! Suddenly,

Workplace Benefits of Health and Fitness Programs
Furthermore, fitness programs can benefit companies far beyond a spending stand point. There are
many benefits of incorporating fitness into your daily routine, and some people are unaware of the
impact it can have on every aspect of their life. Making health and fitness a priority in your life can
result in dramatic change. Creating a healthy lifestyle through fitness and nutrition programs and then

In addition, Memphis is among one of the most overweight cities in America, making it crucial that
we emphasize health and fitness in our businesses locally (Men s Fitness, 2014). Being overweight
causes a number of health issues such as high cholesterol, heart disease, and diabetes. This can cause
employees to miss work, drive up health care costs, and not be as productive when they are at work. In
addition, health and fitness programs can help employees who already have health problems return to
work sooner. For example, employees who have been diagnosed with heart disease and who
participate in an exercise program have returned to work much quicker, and in addition, the death rate
has also been cut down twenty to twenty five percent when employees engage in fitness routines
(Meyers, 2003). Therefore, beginning a fitness program can not only significantly decrease the
chances of someone obtaining one of these diseases, but can also decrease the amount of work they
may miss due to these illnesses; henceforth, increasing the overall health of the workplace,
productivity, and employee efficiency (Meyers, 2003).
Making a fitness program also has a great impact on team environments. Fitness programs will lead to
better morale, a more positive workplace, and an environment that will be more productive for all
employees and team members. Fitness programs present employees with team building activities such

Nuclear Energy Pros And Cons
Some may ask what is nuclear energy the dictionary defines this as:
nuclear energy
n.
1. The energy released by a nuclear reaction, especially by fission or fusion.

Nuclear power was first known to be researched in the early 1900 s, and by the world war; it reached
its greatest peak by demonstrating to the world its power to destroy. Nuclear energy can be good or

The safety of geological disposal of highly radioactive waste depends highly on the characteristics of
the rock formations around it from which a repository would be hollowed out. Many geological
formations are believed to have remained undisturbed for millions and millions of years, it appeared
technically possible to isolate radioactive materials from the environment until they decayed high
enough so that the level of the radioactive material is not harmful.
Scientific confidence about the subject on the deep geologic disposal has been more difficult to apply

unacceptable flaws, such as groundwater flows or earthquake vulnerability, that could release
radioactivity into the environment, this is not good for nature.

The Decision Of Our Final Residential Location Choice Model
Before the decision of our final residential location choice model, we tested how preferences of
residential location are different among age and income groups. Stratifying the sample of households
by age and income is helpful to identify some of the heterogeneity in housing preferences among
different market segments as well as investigate whether differences of location preferences exist
between different groups. All the household location choice models performed reasonably well as
shown in table 1, 2, and 3. The empirical results show that different age groups have different
residential location preferences. As shown in Table 1, the access to employment is statistically
significant and positive in Groups 1 and 3 but insignificant in Group 2. This result implies that job
opportunity is an important factor in the household residential location choice decision, especially for
the young and old household groups. On the other hand, households in Group 2 do not tend to prefer
the location where job opportunity is relatively good, although it is not statistically significant. Rather,
land price is positive and significant in Group 2, which means they are likely to choose the location
where land price is high. This may be because most households in Group 2 consider their children s
education in their residential location decision. In specific, good education environment including
public and private schools is a very important factor in Korea. However, we do not include the

How Did Alchemy Change The World
Alchemy: The Science that Changed the World Alchemy is a complex protoscience based on the
supposed transformation of matter. Alchemy has a long rich history and is still used today but due to
all the superstition many people do not even give it a second glance. Even studying Alchemy can be
hard, it is difficult to understand and practice, but the basic things to know about Alchemy are: what it
is, where it came from and how it is used today. Alchemy s official definition is: a philosophical and

Battle Of Bunker Hill Essay
THE BATTLE OF BUNKER HILL Introduction The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the first battles
fought during the American Revolution between a misfit army of American colonists and the Royal
British Army. The Revolutionary War was a result of patriot colonists speaking out against the taxes
and regulations being imposed upon them by King George III and resulted in the establishment of
America as an independent nation. The objectives of the Battle of Bunker Hill were first and foremost
to stand up to the British army, and secondly, to keep the British from gaining complete control over
the city of Boston and the surrounding area. History Historically, The Battle of Bunker Hill is one of,
if not THE most notable battle during the American Revolution. Events leading up to the Battle of
Bunker Hill began twelve years prior with the British Proclamation of 1773 which prohibited colonists
from settling west of the Appellation Mountains.1 Over the next twelve years, British rule instituted
many expensive taxes on everything from marriage licenses to sugar and tea. Harsh treatment from the
British troops occupying the American colonies also contributed to the growing unrest among the
colonists. Patriots such as Samuel Adams and John Hancock rallied the colonists to ... Show more

Symbolism In The Prestige
Fall Final In the movie The Prestige many symbols are used in the movie revealing information about
the characters and the theme of the scene or the movie as a whole. Nolan s film The Prestige uses the
red ball throughout the film to represents the fatherly love from Borden to his daughter: Jess, revealing
the love, longing, determination, hope and promise he has for his daughter. The tiny little red balls are
used as a symbol for Borden s relationship with his daughter. The red balls show up in contrasting
moments in the film. For example, Borden gives his daughter Jess the little red balls when they first
saw their new house. In this moment the balls represent hope, promise, and love. The hope that they
will have a good long life as a family. The promise that he will do everything that he can do to give
her a good life. The balls also represent how much love he has for his only daughter. In another
instance in the movie, he gives his daughter the red ball when he is in jail. In this moment in time he
gives the ball to her to represent the longing, determination, and promise to get her back. In the jail
scene he is longing to have his daughter back and it hurts him knowing that he cannot at that second.

Functional Movement Analysis Essay
Intro: This movement analysis project examines the free throw of a male college basketball player.
The foul shot was broken up into four segments of movement which can be listed in order as the wind
up, the set, the shot, and the follow through. We also examined the athlete s
Functional Movement Screen (FMS), highlighting where the athlete excelled and where he had
deficits. The FMS findings were applied to the skills needed to compete in basketball at the collegiate
level. Lastly, we analyzed the arthrokinematics and osteokinematics of the joints during these
movements, the angles of those joints, as well as the muscles involved during the movements.
Description: To begin the study, our group was given an athlete. First, our athlete was asked to
perform a FMS, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Technique. The video captured the full movement in two lines of sight.
Using the app, the motion was broken into segments, paused and a still shot was taken. A still shot was
taken at the beginning and end of each segment. The segments included backswing where the ball was
brought from waist level to just anterior to the head. Next was force producing movement where the
ball was positioned slightly inferior to its previous position to where max power could be produced.
Then critical instant , where the ball is pushed with great force (up until ball leaves fingertips), Lastly,
follow through where the ball leaves the fingertips and the hand continues through its motion. Angles

Treasure Coast Research Paper
Florida s Treasure Coast is the common appellation given to the Florida coastal section, which extends
from the Inlet in the north to south of Hobe Sound. It comprises all the coastal counties of Indian
River, St. Lucie, and Martin. The region has a rich history that goes back 300 years, where Spanish
galleons replete with gold and silver, shipwrecked off the southeastern Florida shore, losing all their
treasure to the deep waters. Treasure Coast provided pirates and smugglers with sanctuary during the
18th century. The Spanish explorers drove the first human inhabitants, the Timucuan Indians, from
Treasure Coast, beginning with their arrival in 1528. By the 19th century, small communities began to

Database Management Systems and the Growth of the Internet...
Recent inventions and technical advancements have changed the appearance and indeed, the entire
capability of the internet as most people know it. Many events have contributed to this change, but
none so much as the processing method known as Database Management Systems (DBMS). From its
birth in the last century, the way computers process information has grown and expanded to a point
that would have been hard to imagine for the early programmers. This growth actually spurred on the
growth of the telecommunications industry. Carrier systems have grown with the advancing march of
computers in general, but the huge amount of data required by DBMS created a need for massive
carrier capability and the birth of what we call the internet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With guidance from Watson, the concept of a database was created during the 1920 s. IBM and DBMS
was literally born out of a spark flamed on by the Bell system (Newton, 2004).
About 1930, the Bell System started the data communication revolution by testing various carrier
system technologies and releasing a remote calculation device known as the Complex Number
Calculator (CHMT, n.d.). While the initial transmissions only carried numeric data, development of
alpha numeric coding would open the door to the carrier systems advancements. Clearer circuits were
required to allow error free service to the new computing systems. While the Bell System advanced
the carrier capability, the data itself became increasingly complex as well. In the early years, the
circuits were simple dialed telephone circuits that eventually graduated to dedicated or non switched
connections that let the machines interact directly. Claude Shannon s paper The Mathematical Theory
of Communications showed engineers how to code data so they could check for accuracy after
transmission between computers. Shannon identified the bit as the fundamental unit of data and,
coincidentally, the basic unit of computation (Shannon, 1948).
The database science grew in leaps and bounds, from the early file systems, to hierarchical and
networked architectures, to the first relational style systems like IBM s

The Importance Of Gender Equality In Education
All around the world, generations of children have grown up with a history of male leadership. Gender
equality has always been and continues to be a struggle, but with more awareness being shed on this
problem, it has been improving on a local and global scale. However, governments still lack the
gender diversity in their leadership positions that is needed by today s standards and expectations.
With more activism on a local and global level, future generations will grow up becoming leaders
without limitations due to their gender.
I have been able to grow up in a fortunate environment with a strong sense of equal gender
opportunity, but there was always the absence of equal gender icons to look up to when I was growing
up. Most textbooks and lessons were filled with the accomplishments of male scientists, explorers,
artists, and most of all, leaders. It is essential that we educate children at a young age the importance
for the push towards gender equality in leadership positions. After all, it is difficult for little girls to
believe teachers when say that they can grow up to be anything they want to be when there are male
clad posters of the United States presidents hanging up on the wall behind them. We cannot change the
faces of the past to match our egalitarian expectations, but we can add an equal mix of genders to the
curriculums and environments that all children grow up with to encourage them to change the future.

Fire Hydrant In The 1800s
Between the years of 1800 and 1900, there were many useful inventions created by Americans. They
have each affected and assisted the U.S. in many ways. One of the inventions created between this
time span, was the fire hydrant. There are at least 15,000 located everywhere. Fire hydrants
themselves are about 182 years old. Even though they might seem ordinary, they are a major necessity
that helps us get water right away in case of an emergency. It is unsure who invented the first fire
hydrant, but it is guessed that it was invented by a firefighter named George Smith in the year of 1817.
He invented it in Manhattan to help the locals receive water. They were running out of their water
supply which is where the fire hydrant came in to help.

Susan Botti, Jennifer Higdon, and Cindy McTee
This paper will discuss the works of Susan Botti, Jennifer Higdon and Cindy McTee, three women
composers of the 21st Century, and how they influenced composition with their tonal structures,
melodic inventions, unique compositional techniques, along with innovations in notation, and
rhythmic intricacy. I will be analyzing Concerto for Orchestra by Higdon and Echo Tempo by Botti.
Singer and composer, Susan Botti, studied music at a rather young age. Her musical training officially
started when she entered the Cleveland Institute of Music as a high school student (Slayton 54). She
then graduated with a bachelor of music degree from Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA) in 1984
(Slayton 54). Once graduating from Berklee, Botti continued her studies at the Manhattan School of
Music (New York, NY), where she received a master of music degree in composition in 1990 (Slayton

Michigan, Ann Arbor (Slayton 54). While at Michigan, she taught with William Bolcom, Michael
Daugherty and Bright Sheng. In 2007, Susan Botti left her position at Michigan to move back to New
York City, and began teaching, as a member of the composition faculty, at the Manhattan School of
Music (Slayton 55). Susan Botti s Echo Tempo, is a double concerto for soprano voice, percussion,

Court Observation Paper The court I attended was the court # 184, on October 25th 2015 at Harris
County Criminal Justice Court , located in downtown of Houston city. The Judge in charge was Jan
Krocker. It was an aggravated sexual assault of child case between The State of Texas vs. Samuel

trial started. I sat in the back where the public sits, facing the judge bench. The courtroom was cold
and quiet. Especially it was very small, much smaller and less impressive than I expected.. Everyone
was in formal dressing code. There were just a few number of spectators and family members in the
court room. There was a clerk who was typing everything what was happening during the court time.
Judge Krocker appeared to have things under control and had the proceedings moving forward
smoothly. She was a very friendly lady with short blonde hair. She was listening attentively. She spoke
clearly and distinctly so that everyone in the courtroom could hear. Samuel Gallegos is a white man
about 5 8 tall. He looked quite nervous while some police officers were standing behind him. From
what I understood, this case was really happening back in 2014 and the suspect has criminal history
relating to assault of child and another related case to this case. On my left hand side were the bailiffs

six million barrels to be considered a craft brewery. Also from a financial point there is a difference to
a mass producing beer brewery, an alcoholic industry can only have a maximum of 25% of the
brewery. If they own more than this they are considered mass producing brewery because the

The craft breweries on the other hand are only specialized in beers, a famous one is the Harpoon
Brewery which is located in Boston. (http://www.cnbc.com/id/39233398/page/2) ,
(http://www.nomorefreebeer.com/index.php/the facts/anheuser beer list/)
There are two main aspects why people prefer crafted beer over mass produced beer, and quality is
one of those aspects. The main reason why they differ so much is that the purpose of the factories
producing the beer is different. For craft breweries it is important to have a really good in their beers
because their customers are willing to pay more for a higher quality. They use normally better and
more expensive ingredients and pay a lot of attention to the production process. The mass produced
beers are not even known for a good quality, sure there are some more expensive ones like Corona but
most of them are not. The reason why firms don t keep the quality high is that they want it to be cheap
and everyone should be able to purchase it because the main purpose of mass produced beer is to get
the consumer drunk. That s the actual part of enjoyment you get from drinking a beer.

Comparing The Metaphors Of London By William Blake And...
During the 18th century, London was not charming, clean, and astounding, at least that s what William
Blake thought. William Blake and William Wordsworth, poets of the romantic period, wrote poems
about London. These two poets expressed how they felt about London about how it was at the time.
Blake and Wordsworth create an image in a reader s mind of how they saw London, Blake s image
being dim and Wordsworth s image is brighter. Blake viewed London as an awful place, and
Wordsworth viewed London as a cheerful place. Blake and Wordsworth used metaphors, a setting, and
they call attention to the classes of the people to get their message to readers. Metaphors are a

that says London is great, beautiful, clean, calm, quiet, and dazzling. A nice morning, standing on the

at night, giving the image even more of a depressing place. Looking into the streets, a dirty, dark
street, with cracks and loose rocks. With people crying and struggling to live another day in the cruel
town. Painting wise, Blake would have used dark colors with harsh strokes. These are two different

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Essay
I. Introduction: A subarachnoid hemorrhage is a leakage of blood into the subarachnoid space. This
area is located between the pia matter and arachnoid matter. Cerebral spinal fluid is usually found in
this in this space. The Cerebral spinal fluid acts as a shock absorber for any trauma or blow to the
head. Sometimes the force is to big and blood is released into this area. This damages the lining of the
brain which increases pressure to the brain and killing brain cells.
II. Etiology The most common causes of a sub arachnoid hemorrhage is a blow to the head or trauma.
i) Trauma is usually seen in the older people that have fallen. Young people who have been in a motor

An Introduction To Admittance And Impedance
#1:
Immitance is a general term to describe admittance and impedance. Impedance is the measure of
opposition to energy flow (sound) into the ear at the plane of the tympanic membrane. Admittance is
the total energy flow through the vibrating system. Immitance audiometry is a test battery using
acoustic impedance or acoustic admittance to estimate hearing sensitivity and function of the middle
ear system. Impedance is typically measured as compliance now. Tympanometry is the test battery for
measuring the compliance of the ear in equivalent volume across a range of pressures. It provides an
estimation of hearing sensitivity and middle ear function in relation to ear canal volume, compliance,
and middle ear pressure.

If the pressure is not within that range, it could suggest Eustachian tube dysfunction.
The compliance, or mobility, of the tympanic membrane is also noted as a tympanometric compliance
value. Compliance is measure in cubic centimeters (cc) or milliliters (ml). The point on the pressure
scale where the maximum compliance occurs is essentially equal to middle ear pressure of the ear
tested and is known as the point of maximum compliance. The peak compliance should be within the
range of .2 cc to 2.0 cc. If the compliance is considerably lower than .2 cc, it may lead to a diagnosis
of tympanosclerosis or otosclerosis; however, if it is much higher than 2.0 cc, it may imply ossicular
disarticulation or a hypermobile tympanic membrane.
Compliance is plotted over a range of pressures on a tympanogram. There are five possible types of
tympanograms that may result from the test: type A, type As, type Ad, type B, and type C. A type A
tympanogram suggests a normal conductive system functioning. The peak pressure is noted within the
normal range ( 150 daPA to 50 daPa) and the point of maximum compliance occurs within a normal
range (.2 cc to 2.0 cc), as well. The ECV should also fall between .65 cc and 1.75 cc. There is no
indication of a middle ear pathology if a client receives a type A tympanogram. It is important to note
that this test battery is not designed to detect a sensorineural hearing loss, because it solely reports
outer and middle ear functioning.

Lucretius On Death
One of the most ancient mystery yet unsolved is the question pertaining to death and the afterlife. This
mystery is one of the fundamental studies in both field of philosophy and religion. Comparing those
who believe in a god existing religion against those who don t, we often see many differences in the
answers relating to death. In the contrary, the similar answers to theist and atheist are evident strongly
in two great thinkers and their works. The focus will be on Socrates speech in the Apology by Plato
setting in 399 BCE and De Rerum Natura by Titus Lucretius 300 years later. Titus Lucretius, an atheist
or agnostic Roman poet and philosopher inspired by the works of Epicurus. Lucretius believed in the
theory of atomism which lead to materialistic thinking and how atomism affects how one should view
the purpose of life especially at the end of one s life. Lucretius has written his thoughts on death at
Book III of De Rerum Natura the translation used is by Rolfe Humphries which translates the title as
The Way Things Are. In The Way Things Are, Lucretius makes three main arguments; there is no need
for the fear of death, the fear itself is the source of human evil, and the living life is far worse than
death. These arguments are towards the general public of Romans especially those who are religious
(both Roman and Greek mythical and religious influences). Socrates, on the other hand, is quite
religious evident in his holy mission to test the wise ness of others.

6 million cats and dogs enter an animal shelter every year in the United States, pets that are
abandoned. The city of Raymondville TX, needs to open a local animal shelter to help prevent animal
abandonment and the over population of pets and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That a lot of kitties! Dogs will have 4 the 1st year, 12 the 2nd year, and 36 the 3rd year (SPCA). This
also depends on the size and breed of the dog; large dogs can carry more puppies. So, it s important to
have pets spayed and neutered, at least after 2 litters. According to Hill County Paw Pals, the root of
pet overpopulation stems for irresponsible people who allow their pets to remain unsterilized, run at
large, and to breed at will. Lately, Raymondville has had an increase of strays, mostly dogs that roam
around from house to house. It used to be just out of town where people would leave or dump their
dogs, puppies, old dogs, and pregnant female dogs. It s unfortunate that some owners feel they cannot
provide, or find, pets a new home, and thus throw them away. Right now, there is nothing being done
to the irresponsible owners and the abandoned dogs. The local dog catcher can only hold up to 8 dogs
which are given 3 days to be claimed or they will be put down to make room for other dogs. The local
veterinarian, Dr. Pickard, passed away 3 years ago. He was the number one guy the locals would turn
to for vaccinations and general surgeries. Now residents must go to Harlingen or farther to get their
pets vaccinated and taken care of. That being said, it would help to have a local animal shelter or the

Asda’s Recruitment Process
ASDA s Recruitment Process 1. Job Creation Strategy Achievements At ASDA we recruit colleagues
on the basis of their attitude and personality rather than qualifications and skills. We then train our
successful candidates to develop their skills. The recruitment process normally starts 20 weeks prior to
a new store opening. The new store s People Service Manager works with the ASDA head office
Resourcing Team to recruit local people. At this point we engage with Jobcentre Plus and set up a
Local Employment Partnership (LEP). Since 2008, we have employed over 6,900 colleagues through
LEPs. We also have an established relationship with Remploy the leading provider of employment
opportunities for disabled people and have employed over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These colleagues work closely with the manager and lead by example, coaching department
colleagues to deliver warm and friendly service and to maintain high standards. The Section Leader
role is a step forward for colleagues interested in moving into management roles. Stepping Stones The
programme is a seven step development programme that assists colleagues in developing the
necessary behavioural and technical abilities they will need to become department managers. A
colleague on the programme takes responsibility for a small department whilst working alongside a
Department Manager to gradually gain experience in aspects of the role.

Stores of Learning ASDA Stores of Learning (SOL) are located across the UK. They provide
technical and leadership training for managers new to the business and managers changing roles. 3.
Recruitment Case Studies ASDA Breck Road Opened in 2005, the approach taken by ASDA to
recruitment at our Breck Road store was similar to the government s LEP scheme announced two
years later and is regarded as a pioneer of the LEP approach. Breck Road is located in the Everton
ward of Liverpool. It is an area that has suffered economic decline through many years of under
investment, resulting in a high level of long term unemployment. ASDA worked with Jobcentre Plus
from the start of the recruitment process to ensure local benefit claimants had the best opportunity to

How Charitable Organizations May Not Participate Or Intervene
Charitable organizations may not participate or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of any
candidate in office. The violation of engaging in political activities is the loss of the organization s tax
exempt status. The prohibition of such political activity includes making contributions to a candidate s
political campaign, making endorsements of a candidate, lending employees to work in a political
campaign, or providing facilities for use by a candidates. However, there are certain educational
activities that are permitted. An organization may conduct an educational activity as long as the
activity is unbiased and nonpartisan. A public charity may provide a forum for debates by candidates,
as long as the forum is fair and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early legislation was enacted between 1894 and 1936; tax exempt regulations during this time
developed around three principles: First, organizations that operated for charitable purposes were
granted exemption from the Federal income tax. Second, charitable organizations were required to be
free of private inurement. Finally, an income tax deduction for contributions designed to encourage
charitable giving, was developed. One of the first tax exempt regulations was the Wilson Gorman
Tariff Act of 1894. The Wilson Gorman Tariff Act established that charitable organizations must
operate for a charitable purpose in order to be tax exempt. The act also stated, nothing herein
contained shall apply to corporations, companies, or associations organized and conducted solely for
charitable, religious, or educational purposes. The Court later held that the law as unconstitutional.
However, the act provided the foundation for future tax legislation involving charitable organizations.
The Revenue Act of 1909 expanded the language from the Wilson Gorman Tariff Act. The Revenue
Act was important because it established the idea that tax exempt charitable organizations should be
free of private inurement. Under this act tax exemption was given to any corporation or association
organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, or

Concentration Camp Dachau
The Dreaded Story of Dachau A concentration camp refers to a camp or closed area where people are
detained under brutal conditions usually having no access to legal rights of arrest and imprisonment
that would normally be accepted in a democracy. Concentration camps played a large part in the mass
killing of Jews in Europe lead by Adolf Hitler. An example of a concentration camp is Dachau. During
the World War II, Jews were separated into two groups the healthy and the unhealthy. The unhealthy
were immediately sent to an extermination camp where they were killed in gas chambers and had
harsh experiments performed on them. The healthy were sent to concentration camps, where they
would work until they died of starvation, or they earned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another form of punishment was the rope. During the rope the prisoner was hung so their heels would
not touch the ground. This made the prisoner stand on their toes to stay alive. This lasted usually
around 2 hours per incident. The rope was used to punish people who were caught collecting evidence,
which was on a no tolerance level. Whipping happened almost on a daily basis. Prisoners were
whipped for anything from mouthing back to not doing there work right, to even looking at a guard
the wrong way. Being whipped was looked at by prisoners as the easy way out. Most considered the
gassing of prisoners to be the worst punishment of all. Gassing occurred in groups, prisoners were
gassed for various reasons, but mostly for refusing to do work. To be gassed prisoners were sent to
Linz, Austria. There were many precautions in place to prevent prisoners from escaping. The camp
had barbed wire charged with electricity to prevent climbing. If prisoners made it through the barbed
wire they had to swim across a canal that was extremely hard to cross. It was almost impossible to
escape. If a prisoner escaped the ones that remained behind suffered the punishment. The rule was that
if one escapes, ten must die, and that was carried out frequently. On the camp there was a
crematorium, which was there for easier disposal of the dead bodies. The crematorium was originally
built in a wooden barracks on the

Essay On How To Sign Out In The Army
To sign up or sign on?
Conscription in the UK is no longer compulsory so would you encourage your 16 year old child to
willingly enlist with the armed forces? There are a range of different views that have been offered in
relation to this topic. There are some individuals who are very much against young recruits giving up
their childhoods for their Country, whereas others believe that the armed forces can provide many
benefits and opportunities that may not necessarily have been attainable to some young people. I will
explore these opinions and discuss some of the issues surrounding this topic.
It could be argued, with hundreds of different career roles to choose from that the Army can offer a
diverse range of rewarding opportunities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They look after each other as a family would! The recruits are taught to challenge themselves to their
limits, they learn to recognise what motivates them and they will develop their own self confidence.
They also learn about the benefits of team involvement, resilience and the value that discipline can
bring. Young recruits will learn about themselves and learn about life experiences. The armed forces
can provide an honourable value base that a recruit may not have necessary have acquired at home due
to an underprivileged upbringing and ultimately develop them as people and offer a better future than
they thought possible.
On the other hand, what 16 year old really knows what the Armed Forces entails? It could be argued
that at the age of 16 an individual remains a child, with limited life experiences and with the Army
requesting parental consent from those who wish to sign up below the age of 18 years of age, then this
might suggest the armed forces themselves are aware that at 16 an individual does not have capacity to
make the commitment, however, they are happy to enrol the child!!
Furthermore, do 16 and 17 year olds really understand what will be expected of them to represent their
country? Are they aware of the true horrors of War? Or do young, innocent and inexperienced
teenagers fresh from School naively believe in the glamorous aspects of war?

Psalm 23
The purpose of this paper has been to provide an exposition of Psalm 23 in order to provide sufficient
evidence for arriving at an understanding that proves the LORD is the only need in a person s life due
to his role as shepherd. In verse 1, David introduces the reader to the LORD of his life. In verse 2,
David mentioned the relaxation the shepherd permits the sheep to enjoy. In verse 3, David proceeds
from verse 2 to benefit from a place to rest while getting direction from the Lord. In verse 4, David
articulated his approach to protection by the shepherd. Verse 5 speaks of David receiving food and
sustenance from the LORD.
Lastly, in verse 6, this psalm ends with a declaration made by David that consists of two
proclamations: goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord forever. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed God hears and understands these weak efforts, but by restricting the intensity of our
communication, we become superficial in our relationship with Him. But God knows us, and wants to
have real communication with us. The highlight or focal point of the Bible is the book of Psalms. This
wonderful group of songs and prayers communicates the character and essence of the human race. In
them we discover the entire scope of human activity expressed. David and the other writers sincerely
poured out their feelings, representing a vibrant, influential, and life changing relationship with God.
The psalmists confess their sins, communicate their doubts and fears, request assistance from God in
times of difficulty, and worship and glorify His

Gentrification Essay
Gentrification has become a common phenomenon throughout many major cities in the United States
and it is impacting millions. Gentrification can be dated back to the urban renewal and slum clearance,
and post war reconstruction programs implemented during the 1950s and 1960s Schaffer and Smith
1986). Although the main idea of gentrification is to, from an economic standpoint, rebuild the city
and redevelop its urban core, some people are in fact negatively impacted. There seems to be a trend
on the groups of people effected. Many families are being displaced from their homes due to the fact
that the city is redeveloping the urban core and attracting many young, affluent people to live in areas
surrounding it. Although, the benefits of gentrification are seemingly attractive to the governments and
cities do they really outweigh the benefits of those being unable to afford the housing and being
moved out of areas they have lived in for generations just to be displaced into just as impoverished of
an area as before.
Public Debates Tackling Gentrification:
In the 1970s the Carter administration encouraged the revitalization of cities and The U.S department
of Housing and Urban Development saw displacement as a problem. Due to unofficial data claiming
unofficially only 2% of people were displaced they saw it as an insignificant problem and sought
nothing to attempt to eliminate displacement with the onset of redevelopment. (Schaffer Smith, 1986)

  • 2. Counselling Skills Evaluate and monitor self in using a counselling approach. People who experience troubles can receive help for their problems in both formal and informal ways. An informal helping relationship can be as simple as a chat with a friend while offering advice and support. The counselling approach differs considerably form formal counselling which this essay will discuss. An informal helping relationship may involve counselling skills such as displaying good eye contact and body language, listening, summarising and paraphrasing but this does not in any way mean they are a trained counsellor. Formal counselling will involve the counsellor, who is formally trained, and the client where the sole purpose of the meeting is counselling. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My workplace follows the health and social care code of practice therefore I am aware of the importance in having these guidelines in place. A client is more inclined to feel free to talk when they know that what they say will not be disclosed and this should encourage a safe feeling for them. At the start of the course a working agreement was decided and agreed by the class. This agreement stated that we should respect and be respected, have the right to be supported, the right to have fun and most importantly confidentiality. This allowed the class to feel safe to disclose information that may be of a personal nature. I think that this agreement has been followed and I do feel safer knowing it is in place especially during the triad exercises. Many helping relationships occur in everyday life and this course has allowed me to understand the difference between formal counselling and a counselling approach. I think I have become more self aware and realise that I am slightly guarded, especially with certain people in my life. The triad exercises made me quite anxious initially but feel as I gain more experience I am becoming more comfortable during the sessions. Orville Wright was considered the main genius behind designing the airplane. Neither of them attended college, Wilbur did not go because of a skating accident that he had, and both of them had to earn money after their mother s death. Their heavier than air plane was made with eight years of research, and one thousand dollars. The brothers were inventors throughout their entire lives; they created a printing press, a calculator that could multiply, and a simple typewriter. They also made several items which they never patented, to keep themselves occupied. Together, they started the industry of aviation worldwide, and they created the basic laws of aerodynamics. • 4. Novel Windflower- Western and Eskimo Culture In the novel the WINDFLOWER, there is a presence of two different cultures the western culture and the Eskimo culture. In history, we as the readers know that aboriginals were cruelly treated and the western people tried to assimilate their culture. Interestingly, the author, Gabrielle Roy decided to portray a part of the Eskimos in the novel, WINDFLOWER, as assimilated to create conflict with minor characters. The more notable characters that have been shown to defy the western cultures was only Uncle Ian and Winnie. Even still, many of the Eskimos are shown to believe that the western culture was the more dominant belief. The effect this had was that the interactions shown with the minor characters and Elsa. To touch on how the Eskimos thought that the white culture was superior and many had already assimilated is shown in a subtle touch provided by the first chapter that showed how accepting the Eskimos were to the close proximity of the whites. In page 6, the author writes, Nowadays they wore short dresses of flowered cotton, over which floated sweaters as shapeless as sacks , The effect of something as petty as clothing may not seem like much but it contains a larger effect than one would expect. These clothes originated from western culture, if the whites were not present the Eskimos would have been perfectly content with what they had parkas and pretty sealskin boots of former times (Pg 6). This can infer that the Eskimos already had a mindset of the western ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Influence Of Imperialism In American Imperialism In the 1890s some Americans were eager to expand. Post Civil War the U.S. was going through a time where they thought that they were lagging behind other nations in terms of expansionism. America felt that they were lacking what they needed in order to become a powerhouse. Many Americans, like Theodore Roosevelt or Alfred Thayer Mahan, were imperialists who wanted to acquire land/territories for the U.S. The United States sought to find their identity as a nation in the world. American Identity to imperialists can be defined as patriotism, military power, and dominance/hegemony. This was controversial because some Americans were anti imperialists who did not believe in expansionism, but in defending the Constitution. This brought about both supporters and opponents of imperialism during the Spanish American War. Manifest Destiny is defined as the 19th century belief that expansion of the U.S. throughout the American continents were both justified and inevitable. This God given right fueled western settlement and imperialistic belief. Imperialist Senator Albert Beveridge, September 1898, made a speech that stated the flag of liberty will circle the globe...benighted peoples will know the voice of liberty is speaking...civilization is dawning. This demonstrates the belief of expanding to territories around the globe. Charles Denby wrote a forum in November 1898 titled Shall we keep the Phillipines. In the website Countries and their Cultures I found an article called Puerto Rican American by Derek Green. I chose this article because I found it very interesting. The article states that Puerto Rico is located in the Caribbean Sea and was discovered by Christopher Columbus 1493 and between 1460 152 Juan Ponce de Leon was the first colonial governor. In 1898 Spain ceded the island to the United States because of the Spanish American War. In 1925 the United Sates government declared all Puerto Rican as a citizen of the United States. According to the article, Puerto Rico is unique in their traditions, customs, and belief. Mr. Derek says that many Puerto Rican customs and superstitions blend the Catholic religious traditions of Spaniards and the pagan religious beliefs of the West African slaves who were brought to the island beginning in the sixteenth century. Though most Puerto Ricans are strict Roman Catholics, local customs have given a Caribbean flavored to some standard Catholic ceremonies. Among these are weddings, baptisms, and funerals. • 8. Arranged Marriages In America Throughout society, marriage is seen as a special symbol of two people becoming one. In the eastern side of the world, arranged marriages are very common. It is not like the western world where couples date to know each other then choose whether they are the perfect match. Arranged marriages are often chosen by the elders in the family. This practice has been handed down for centuries. Throughout the marriage process, there are certain procedures that must be followed in eastern matchmaking. Once a match has been chosen, the couple will learn over time that commitment and acceptance comes prior to emotions and happiness. Even though our western ways may seem normal to us, the traditions of eastern marriages are custom through procedure, commitment and acceptance within their society. While every traditional marriage may be different, the eastern custom has chosen to abide by long established procedures. These procedures consist of family members who decide on what is best for their offspring. The decisions which are considered range from family values, education, wealth, and physical appearance. Going into the retreat, I was nervous. I worried about the school that I was missing, if I had packed enough, if I was going to like the food, if I was going to feel a part of the group, etc. But I faced it head on and had an absolutely incredible experience. Firstly, I really enjoyed not having phones. It was weird for me to not be able to reach into my pocket to check the time or to check up on what was happening back in Burlington. It allowed to to really cherish the moment and focus on spending my time with the nineteen other people that I was with. One of the things that I loved most from the retreat was the one on one talks. I am someone who doesn t tend to be great at sitting down with someone and really getting to know them and having deep conversation with them. When I did so, I loved it more than words could speak. Of all these injuries that occur, almost ¾ of them are related to the lateral structures in our ankle. The most common and minor form of these injuries is a lateral ankle sprain, which is caused by an inversion stress to the joint of the ankle. One of the factors known to cause these abnormal movements in the joints of the lower extremity is the use of a prophylactic ankle brace. One doctor was able to discover that using an ankle brace during athletic performance did not increase the risk of injury. Our research showed that knee biomechanics known to be risk factors for ACL injury did not appear to be negatively impacted by wearing a lace up ankle brace. (Aerni, Giselle, 2012). If athletes wear prophylactic ankle braces during athletic activities, then they are more likely to be subjected to knee injuries. The study will analyze the effect that prophylactic ankle braces cause to the joints of the knee and determining if it increases the stress placed on them. The primary function of a prophylactic ankle that is being used is to put a restriction on the inversion range of motion it usually has, since it is where most injuries occur in an ankle sprain. What people don t know is that it also decreases your overall performance, total range of motion, and other kinematics as well. Dr. Strangelove And The Cold War The Cold War was a period of several decades of tension and the threat of nuclear conflict between the two remaining superpowers that emerged from WWII, the U.S. and the Soviet Union. The 1964 film Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, directed by Stanley Kubrick, depicts the overlying themes of the Cold War in a comedic fashion. This film s full embodiment of the Cold War is seen through its representation of the time period, and the sheer competitiveness between the United States and Russia. Later, General Buck Turgidson, one of the President s top advisors, echoes this exact idea in the war room and proposes to the U.S. President a full commitment. This was one possible solution that could have neutralized all of Russia in one wave of nuclear missiles; however, this strategy is frowned upon and dismissed by the President as it would reflect poorly on the U.S. diplomatic reputation in the long run. An aspect of the Cold War that Kubrick focuses on is the blatant lack of trust between the conflicting nations. The safety of geological disposal of highly radioactive waste depends highly on the characteristics of the rock formations around it from which a repository would be hollowed out. Many geological formations are believed to have remained undisturbed for millions and millions of years, it appeared technically possible to isolate radioactive materials from the environment until they decayed high enough so that the level of the radioactive material is not harmful. • 16. The Decision Of Our Final Residential Location Choice Model Before the decision of our final residential location choice model, we tested how preferences of residential location are different among age and income groups. Stratifying the sample of households by age and income is helpful to identify some of the heterogeneity in housing preferences among different market segments as well as investigate whether differences of location preferences exist between different groups. All the household location choice models performed reasonably well as shown in table 1, 2, and 3. The empirical results show that different age groups have different residential location preferences. As shown in Table 1, the access to employment is statistically significant and positive in Groups 1 and 3 but insignificant in Group 2. This result implies that job opportunity is an important factor in the household residential location choice decision, especially for the young and old household groups. On the other hand, households in Group 2 do not tend to prefer the location where job opportunity is relatively good, although it is not statistically significant. Rather, land price is positive and significant in Group 2, which means they are likely to choose the location where land price is high. This may be because most households in Group 2 consider their children s education in their residential location decision. In specific, good education environment including public and private schools is a very important factor in Korea. However, we do not include the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well most people have, but how many people have actually wondered what it takes to achieve that? Not many. This is the reason why I choose this picture which is a kind of advertisement made by Alex Greg. The reason why I referred to it like that because it is a post published in a funny site and I choose it because of the message the author tries to send. In this picture all we can see it s a Lamborghini in Paris and specifically located in the street leading near the Arc de Triomphe as. Also in the picture we see a quote which states: Why haven t you seen a Lamborghini commercial before? Because the people who can afford them aren t sitting around watching Tv... . Well the part which I choose there is extracted from the article of a writer called Tuong Minh Ly Le. Greg choose the visual rhetoric to share his message with the world simply because it would be simpler to do it this way then to write a 1000 word essay explaining it. Also this way is better because the audience will have different opinions on what message he was trying to send them and can affect the crowd in different ways. Alchemy has a long rich history and is still used today but due to all the superstition many people do not even give it a second glance. The process is to use radioactivity to decay stable substances. Now a way to make a transmutation of gold is with mercury. However it is unable to be used with a nuclear reactor so instead a particle accelerator is used. A particle accelerator used electromagnetic fields to accelerate a proton, an electron, or a sub atomic particle. Battle Of Bunker Hill Essay THE BATTLE OF BUNKER HILL Introduction The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the first battles fought during the American Revolution between a misfit army of American colonists and the Royal British Army. From its birth in the last century, the way computers process information has grown and expanded to a point that would have been hard to imagine for the early programmers. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With guidance from Watson, the concept of a database was created during the 1920 s. IBM and DBMS was literally born out of a spark flamed on by the Bell system (Newton, 2004). About 1930, the Bell System started the data communication revolution by testing various carrier system technologies and releasing a remote calculation device known as the Complex Number Calculator (CHMT, n.d.). While the initial transmissions only carried numeric data, development of alpha numeric coding would open the door to the carrier systems advancements. Clearer circuits were required to allow error free service to the new computing systems. While the Bell System advanced the carrier capability, the data itself became increasingly complex as well. In the early years, the circuits were simple dialed telephone circuits that eventually graduated to dedicated or non switched connections that let the machines interact directly. Claude Shannon s paper The Mathematical Theory of Communications showed engineers how to code data so they could check for accuracy after transmission between computers. Shannon identified the bit as the fundamental unit of data and, coincidentally, the basic unit of computation (Shannon, 1948). However, governments still lack the gender diversity in their leadership positions that is needed by today s standards and expectations. With more activism on a local and global level, future generations will grow up becoming leaders without limitations due to their gender. I have been able to grow up in a fortunate environment with a strong sense of equal gender opportunity, but there was always the absence of equal gender icons to look up to when I was growing up. Most textbooks and lessons were filled with the accomplishments of male scientists, explorers, artists, and most of all, leaders. It is essential that we educate children at a young age the importance for the push towards gender equality in leadership positions. After all, it is difficult for little girls to believe teachers when say that they can grow up to be anything they want to be when there are male clad posters of the United States presidents hanging up on the wall behind them. Cerebral spinal fluid is usually found in this in this space. The Cerebral spinal fluid acts as a shock absorber for any trauma or blow to the head. Sometimes the force is to big and blood is released into this area. This damages the lining of the brain which increases pressure to the brain and killing brain cells. II. Etiology The most common causes of a sub arachnoid hemorrhage is a blow to the head or trauma. i) Trauma is usually seen in the older people that have fallen. Young people who have been in a motor vehicle accident may also experience SAH. ii) Spontaneous hemorrhage can also occur. • 38. An Introduction To Admittance And Impedance #1: Immitance is a general term to describe admittance and impedance. Impedance is the measure of opposition to energy flow (sound) into the ear at the plane of the tympanic membrane. Admittance is the total energy flow through the vibrating system. Immitance audiometry is a test battery using acoustic impedance or acoustic admittance to estimate hearing sensitivity and function of the middle ear system. Impedance is typically measured as compliance now. Tympanometry is the test battery for measuring the compliance of the ear in equivalent volume across a range of pressures. It provides an estimation of hearing sensitivity and middle ear function in relation to ear canal volume, compliance, and middle ear pressure. To perform an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the pressure is not within that range, it could suggest Eustachian tube dysfunction. The compliance, or mobility, of the tympanic membrane is also noted as a tympanometric compliance value. Compliance is measure in cubic centimeters (cc) or milliliters (ml). The point on the pressure scale where the maximum compliance occurs is essentially equal to middle ear pressure of the ear tested and is known as the point of maximum compliance. The peak compliance should be within the range of .2 cc to 2.0 cc. If the compliance is considerably lower than .2 cc, it may lead to a diagnosis of tympanosclerosis or otosclerosis; however, if it is much higher than 2.0 cc, it may imply ossicular disarticulation or a hypermobile tympanic membrane. Compliance is plotted over a range of pressures on a tympanogram. There are five possible types of tympanograms that may result from the test: type A, type As, type Ad, type B, and type C. A type A tympanogram suggests a normal conductive system functioning. The peak pressure is noted within the normal range ( 150 daPA to 50 daPa) and the point of maximum compliance occurs within a normal range (.2 cc to 2.0 cc), as well. The ECV should also fall between .65 cc and 1.75 cc. There is no indication of a middle ear pathology if a client receives a type A tympanogram. It is important to note that this test battery is not designed to detect a sensorineural hearing loss, because it solely reports outer and middle ear functioning. A ... • 40. Lucretius On Death One of the most ancient mystery yet unsolved is the question pertaining to death and the afterlife. This mystery is one of the fundamental studies in both field of philosophy and religion. Comparing those who believe in a god existing religion against those who don t, we often see many differences in the answers relating to death. In the contrary, the similar answers to theist and atheist are evident strongly in two great thinkers and their works. The focus will be on Socrates speech in the Apology by Plato setting in 399 BCE and De Rerum Natura by Titus Lucretius 300 years later. Titus Lucretius, an atheist or agnostic Roman poet and philosopher inspired by the works of Epicurus. Lucretius believed in the theory of atomism which lead to materialistic thinking and how atomism affects how one should view the purpose of life especially at the end of one s life. Lucretius has written his thoughts on death at Book III of De Rerum Natura the translation used is by Rolfe Humphries which translates the title as The Way Things Are. In The Way Things Are, Lucretius makes three main arguments; there is no need for the fear of death, the fear itself is the source of human evil, and the living life is far worse than death. These arguments are towards the general public of Romans especially those who are religious (both Roman and Greek mythical and religious influences). Socrates, on the other hand, is quite religious evident in his holy mission to test the wise ness of others. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Thought Of Owning Or Bringing Home A Cute Adorable The thought of owning or bringing home a cute adorable puppy, or kitten, for the first time can be an emotional and exciting time for families. Most pets, while they are young, receive lots of love and attention from children and their owners, but what happens when the pets grow and get older? Not every pet is brought to or born into a responsible home. Some pets that are no longer wanted, are left behind or dumped out of town because it is easier than finding them a new home. So, it s important to have pets spayed and neutered, at least after 2 litters. According to Hill County Paw Pals, the root of pet overpopulation stems for irresponsible people who allow their pets to remain unsterilized, run at large, and to breed at will. Lately, Raymondville has had an increase of strays, mostly dogs that roam around from house to house. It used to be just out of town where people would leave or dump their dogs, puppies, old dogs, and pregnant female dogs. It s unfortunate that some owners feel they cannot provide, or find, pets a new home, and thus throw them away. Right now, there is nothing being done to the irresponsible owners and the abandoned dogs. The local dog catcher can only hold up to 8 dogs which are given 3 days to be claimed or they will be put down to make room for other dogs. One of the first tax exempt regulations was the Wilson Gorman Tariff Act of 1894. The act also stated, nothing herein contained shall apply to corporations, companies, or associations organized and conducted solely for charitable, religious, or educational purposes. Prisoners were whipped for anything from mouthing back to not doing there work right, to even looking at a guard the wrong way. Being whipped was looked at by prisoners as the easy way out. Most considered the gassing of prisoners to be the worst punishment of all. Gassing occurred in groups, prisoners were gassed for various reasons, but mostly for refusing to do work. To be gassed prisoners were sent to Linz, Austria. There were many precautions in place to prevent prisoners from escaping. The camp had barbed wire charged with electricity to prevent climbing. If prisoners made it through the barbed wire they had to swim across a canal that was extremely hard to cross. It was almost impossible to escape. If a prisoner escaped the ones that remained behind suffered the punishment. The rule was that if one escapes, ten must die, and that was carried out frequently. The armed forces can provide an honourable value base that a recruit may not have necessary have acquired at home due to an underprivileged upbringing and ultimately develop them as people and offer a better future than they thought possible. On the other hand, what 16 year old really knows what the Armed Forces entails? It could be argued that at the age of 16 an individual remains a child, with limited life experiences and with the Army requesting parental consent from those who wish to sign up below the age of 18 years of age, then this might suggest the armed forces themselves are aware that at 16 an individual does not have capacity to make the commitment, however, they are happy to enrol the child!! • 47. Gentrification Essay Gentrification has become a common phenomenon throughout many major cities in the United States and it is impacting millions. Gentrification can be dated back to the urban renewal and slum clearance, and post war reconstruction programs implemented during the 1950s and 1960s Schaffer and Smith 1986). Although the main idea of gentrification is to, from an economic standpoint, rebuild the city and redevelop its urban core, some people are in fact negatively impacted. There seems to be a trend on the groups of people effected. Many families are being displaced from their homes due to the fact that the city is redeveloping the urban core and attracting many young, affluent people to live in areas surrounding it. Although, the benefits of gentrification are seemingly attractive to the governments and cities do they really outweigh the benefits of those being unable to afford the housing and being moved out of areas they have lived in for generations just to be displaced into just as impoverished of an area as before. Public Debates Tackling Gentrification: In the 1970s the Carter administration encouraged the revitalization of cities and The U.S department of Housing and Urban Development saw displacement as a problem. Due to unofficial data claiming unofficially only 2% of people were displaced they saw it as an insignificant problem and sought nothing to attempt to eliminate displacement with the onset of redevelopment.
