Playboy Research Paper
I was raised and I think it probably was a cause and effect correlation here in a very Puritan home and there
were very few hugs and kisses in my home. No education or conversation about sex. I grew up believing in
fairly traditional views and values about sex. I didn t have sexual intercourse for the first time until I was out
of college and I had spent two years in the army and it was with the girl I was planning on marrying. And
she was my first wife. I believe that was typical of my peers. My friends and classmates and chums were all
pretty much the same. It was the typical Midwestern, middle class life. Very different than life today ( Hugh
Hefner Discusses Playboy s Legacy, par. 3). Those are the words of Hugh M. Hefner, an American adult
publisher who was just the average Puritan raised fellow before his sexually driven Playboy enterprise took
the world by storm in the 1950s. But this out of the box ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first televised production from the Playboy Enterprises was a short run series called Playboy s
Penthouse. Another Hefner featured series came about a decade later called Playboy After Dark, which
shared the same premise as the previous program. The numerous amounts of ladies on the show, Playmates,
would share the bachelor pad staged set weekly and discuss various topics with Hefner ( Hugh Hefner
Biography, par. 13). The women on the show were shown more so as objects to set the mood of the
seductive programming, unlike Hefner s 21st century television comeback The Girls Next Door. This time
around, the women on the show were given more value as Hefner openly obtains a relationship with leading
Playboy Bunnies Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson, and Bridget Marquardt (par. 23). Unlike the 20th
century, The Girls Next Door became a global smash hit and turned the featured beauties into household

Ancient Egypt vs Modern Egypt
The Aspects of Ancient and Modern Egypt Contrasted
An In depth Analysis of the Differences between the Egypt of Yesterday and Today
The Aspects of Ancient and Modern Egypt Contrasted
Egyptian culture has many contrasts and contradictions between the old and the new. The two cultures are
much different from each other. But in its entirety, the culture of Egypt has successfully combined the best of
both worlds. Keeping the appeal and magnificence of its ancient culture unharmed, modern Egypt has
absorbed the contemporary ways of life. Egypt Culture is a balanced culture, both in its ancient times as well
as its stylishness.
A visit to any of the big cities of Egypt will show the influences on culture world wide. When compared to

The royal tombs of Egypt reveal that they wore fabrics such as silk which was very rare and a great
commodity of the time. Artifacts and what s left that were found during excavations reveal to us that ancient
Egyptians were very fashionable and culturally aware. The ancient royalty of Egypt such as the pharaohs
wore a lot of gold jewelry. The abundance of gold made ancient Egypt seem to have been a very rich nation.
Now, Egyptians are very fond of arts, music and sports. Football is the favorite sport of the Egyptians.
Family ties are also very strong in Egypt. The males respect Egyptian women, which makes most of the big
cities such as Cairo and Alexandria much safer for women than any western cities such as Sudan and
Kuwait.
The ancient Egyptians were very religious minded. Gods and goddesses were part of everyday life of ancient
Egyptians. They had gods and goddesses who they had persistent faith. Religious practices of ancient Egypt
were linked to movements of holy bodies such as constellations, the sun, the moon, and the planets. Some of
the most respected idols of ancient Egyptians are Osiris and Isis. Now, Egypt s population mainly consists of
Sunni Muslims and Coptic Christians. People of both religions moderately follow their religious practices.
Religious principles are quite noticeable in their daily lives.
Today, Egypt is at the core of the Muslim world while in the past it was dominated by varying polytheistic
beliefs and Christianity.

My Favorite Creative Element Is Imagery
Writers are undoubtedly the connoisseurs of the linguistic world. The amazing thing about the written word
is that it has no conviction; every literate human being has the same tools at their disposal and yet no two
writers ever have the same flavor. I was fortunate enough to have recognized this at a young age. I immersed
myself in all aspects of the written word: lyrics, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, etc. What has always excited me
as a writer is my appreciation for the power that words can have on people. From Stephen King to Stephen
Biko, every great writer that I have come across has further entrenched me in my passion for writing. My
favorite creative element is imagery, thus my aspirations to write for film and television. Working ... Show

head as I write. If I am writing a speech I picture myself at a podium reading, that is just how my brain

throughout the piece Wallace had an innate ability to put the reader in the moment. Throughout my readings

New York University Admission Essay Sample
New York University is absolutely attractive to me for its vibrant location the center of New York City.
Besides studying in classrooms, students in NYU can go outside to explore New York through programs like
Cohen Arts Culture Experience. Discovering internship opportunity on Wall Street or enjoying an opera in
Broadway, I believe the life in NYU is colorful and exhilarating. Also, as a business student, Stern is
beneficial for me to plan career development through Wasserman Center for Career Development, from
accessing the NYU CareerNet to hosting career fairs. The close proximity to potential internships of top
cooperations will allow me to supplement my knowledge from classrooms with actual and practical learning.

accounting is a subject not only required rich knowledge from all aspects but also built the foundation of
other business fields. The curriculums in NYU are designed to convey both the concentration of accounting

English Colonists Treatment Of Native Americans
When it comes to wealth and power, people want it all for themselves. They will do anything in order to
claim it and call it theirs. Some people are stronger than others, which makes their journeys easier to win
over others. English colonists arrived to the New World after seeing Spanish colonization gaining wealth and
being able to send gold and sliver back home. While English colonists were trying to gain wealth, they had
to use Native Americans. Native Americans on Jamestown had everything that English colonists wanted,
therefore they relayed on them and took advantage of the natives. The treatment of Native Americans by
English colonists in Jamestown was unavoidable because English colonists arrived to the New World with a
single goal, gaining wealth. English colonists and indigenous people could have never peacefully co existed

The American Yawp, The colonist retaliated and revisited the massacres upon Indian settlements many times

Scope And Implementation Of A Vm Program
Introduction [RELATIVE TO AUDIENCE] Scope and Implementation In order to implement a VM program
an organization must assign responsibilities to perform patching and vulnerability management. For the
purposes of this document it shall be referred to as the patch and vulnerability management group (PVG).
This group may be a separate entity or the responsibilities may be a subset of an IT operations or services
team. There may be several PVG s within an organization, central coordination of these groups directly or
indirectly must be implemented. Automate Patching As much as possible, the burden of implementing and
testing remediations should be shifted from local administrators to the PVG. This should save money by
eliminating duplication of effort (e.g., multiple system administrators testing the same patch on similar
computers) and by enabling automated solutions, thereby avoiding costly manual installations. The easiest
way to accomplish this is by implementing enterprise patching solutions that allow the PVG, or a group they
work closely with, to automatically push patches out to many computers quickly. Harden Systems and
Standardize Configurations For the PVG to be able to adequately test automatically deployed patches,
organizations should use standardized configurations for IT devices (e.g., desktop computers, routers,
firewalls, servers) as much as possible. Enterprise patch management tools will be ineffective if deployed in
an environment where every IT

Similarities Between Purti And Purusha
Prakrti is the principle of matter. Matter is unconscious (jada). All the evolutes of Prakrti are unconscious by
nature but because Purusha is getting reflected at citta, that reflection makes citta as if conscious and it starts
to function. Next reflection of Purusha is on ahamkar and so ahamkar is conscious, thus all the body parts
are conscious. Purusha can never become one, either with ahamkara or tanmatras or panchamahabhutas. By
nature, it cannot. Philosophically we say Sankhya is uncompromising dualism, atheistic realism and
spiritualistic pluralism. Dualism is two principles. There is no compromise possible between these two.
Neither can Purusha give rise to Prakrti nor Prakrti to Purusha. They are existing from eternity. ... Show

One, it discriminates and decides, and second it stores all samskaras / memories. It is called Karma Shaya.
Karmashaya means ashaya of karmas like any time an activity is performed or a deed, an act, any time the
thought / emotion passes the mind along with feeling or getting that experience there is an impression of that
experience carried in one s own self. When one is thirsty, thirst is quenched by drinking a cold drink. But in
the citta the storage takes place that the drink was very nice. This storage of impression gets accumulated for
every act (karma), whether it is a thought crossing the mind, an act or feeling, whatever happens this storage
of impression gets added. The karmashaya increases. E.g.; every karma has two results, one is the karma
phala the thirst was quenched. Phala is immediate but along with the phala samskara is generated. Samskara
is the problem. The samskara is the seed or source for further action. After a gap of time when one feels
thirsty again, the previous drink which satisfied the thirst is remembered. During the intervening period the
drink was not there in the consciousness, but the moment the circumstances or the situations ripen,
immediately the samskara comes up. The moment the samskaras come up, they fructify into further action.
One would like to have the same drink again. Again, it goes on adding. Thus, one gets continuously
entangled in this chain of karmas and

The Success Factors Of Multinational Corporations
One of the most essential success factor in multinational corporations is related with the organization s
group of extremely competent international leaders and managers who have the global knowledge of
consumer demands for services as well as products in a world scale, the knowledge of production and
service capabilities, and also who can influence others in spite of diverse cultural or political backgrounds
that make them think, analyze, decide, act and communicate in a different way than the leader (Teagarden,
n.d).
One of the challenges multicultural corporations have is to identify the right people with the skill sets and
aptitudes to manage in global organizations. These skills include the culture, the language, the knowledge of
markets, the adaptability and the Global Mindset. In the following chart is a summary of these skills and
techniques of a manager in MNC in contrast of a manager with a local presence:
Skill/Technique Global Management Local Management
Culture
Sensitivity
 The ability to understand different cultural contexts and viewpoints
 Adapts to different cultures
 Manage diverse teams
 Do not have to deal with different cultures
 The awareness of the own culture is not a critical skill to have
Communication  Knowledge of a foreign language
 Demonstrating strong communication skills  It is not necessary to be multilingual Global Mindset 

The South China Sea Essay
Since the 3rd Century AD, the South China Sea has been home to countless territorial disputes between
China, the Philippines, Vietnam, and other East Asian Nations. This region is so contentious because it is
one of the busiest trade routes, and is home to vast natural resources. Because of the long and dense history
of them, these disputes are some of the most difficult events to understand and interpret in international
relations. Because the disputes deal with relative power, and the security dilemma, looking at the events
through a realist lens is the most practical way of analyzing them.
Although there have been small disputes dating back to the 3rd Century, conflict in the South China Sea
really started to heat up in the early 1900 s. In the 19th Century, France had been heavily involved in the
South China Sea because they had colonized French Indochina (present day Vietnam). However France was
more concerned about control of the Gulf of Tonkin than the entire South China Sea. The early disputes were
primarily over the Paracel Islands, a group of islands somewhat in between China and Vietnam. In 1902
(Serverino, 2010, p.76), China ordered the first official exploration of the islands preemptively because they
were worried the the French might try to claim the islands as part of Indochina s territory. Then in the 1920
s, both Japan and France claimed to own the Paracel s. It was around this time that China said the Paracel s
were the southernmost part of its territory.

Prenatal Screening And Prenatal Development
Throughout all of mankind s history all living beings have shared a common trait since their conception,
prenatal development. Prenatal development can easily be categorized as a fascinating period of great
anatomical and physiological progress. Yet, as time progresses and the wonders of medical technology
advance at a limitless pace, such a time has recently been viewed as a period of constant and profound
examinations for unborn infants. The term, prenatal examinations, can be divided into the three categories of
prenatal screenings, genetic screenings, and diagnostic screenings. Prenatal screenings are primarily
involved with the detections of the possible abnormalities and conditions that may be displayed by the
infants. However, it has been vastly emphasized to be a non definitive diagnosis for most pregnancies. The
normal and recommended blood tests as well as ultrasounds throughout pregnancies classify as a realm of
prenatal screenings. Genetic screenings, considered by many to be a complex version of prenatal screenings,
examine the alterations of the chromosomes, genes, and proteins of the fetus. Currently, genetic screenings
are sub divided into three main categories, molecular genetic screenings, chromosomal genetic screenings,
and biochemical genetic screenings. Molecular screenings examine the genes of a fetus in an attempt to
recognize any mutations in the DNA of the fetus and to detect the likelihood of the development of a genetic
disorder. Chromosomal

Martha Graham, Beethoven, And Jackie Robinson
About 108 billion people have been introduced to our beautifully diverse world. Few of these people have
the impact to change how others will see the world. One of the most powerful things in life is true passion
and when one lets their passion shine, it can change the world. I have been influenced by many people in
history, but three people in particular stand out to me, as people who inspired others from a place of pure
passion. Martha Graham, Beethoven, and Jackie Robinson are all figures in history that have followed their
passions and made a lasting impression on everyone who has come after them. I would love to dance with

The World Of Convection, Conduction, And Radiation
The World of Convection, Conduction, and Radiation In our physical world, there are a multitude of
phenomenon that occur daily that we experience that often go unnoticed. It contains a vast array of
conceptual applications and the equations applied to them in order to better explain and calculate the
phenomenon involved. In a normal occurrence an individual can explain and calculate certain aspects of
movement and processes that are also involved with it. When dealing with the transferring of heat and
various process related to heat, the terms convection, conduction and radiation are frequently discussed
thoroughly. The overall field of thermodynamics involves the study of thermal processes in physical
systems. Some terms involved with these particular concepts include: closed system, empirical law, free
energy, joule s law, specific, temperature, and thermodynamics. The general defined term of convection is
the heat transfer by mass motion of a fluid such as air or water when the heated fluid is caused to move away
from the source of heat, carrying energy with it (Georgia State University). In the world of physics, the term
conduction is usually defined as a form of heat transfer by the way of molecular tension inside an object or
material that does not show any individual motion in its entirety (Georgia State University). Radiation by
means of physics related terms is defined as the emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves or
particles through a

The Life Aquatic With Steve Zizzou Analysis
The magic of film is that it can tightly control what the viewer sees. A camera s ability to let directors decide
what is explicitly shown and what is merely implied makes it a powerful storytelling tool. The average
director wishes to immerse the viewer as much as possible, using lavish special effects and high tech
equipment to hide the artificiality of the film under a thick layer of polish. When a film breaks this
immersion it is usually considered to be a technical or creative failure. Other films for various reasons
decide to deliberately either break the viewers immersion or never immerse them in the first place. A good
example of one of these deliberately false films is The Life Aquatic with Steve Zizzou, directed by Wes
Anderson in 2004. Without giving much detail it is the story of Steve Zizzou (portrayed by Bill Murray,) a
documentarist and oceanographer who vows to avenge a comrade who was allegedly killed by a jaguar
shark. However though the course of the film it is revealed that the eponymous character is not the
knowledgeable adventurer that he claims to be, in fact being an incompetent hack more concerned with
wealth and prestige than anything else. Though Zizzou s films appear to have adequate production values it
is revealed that much of it is inaccurate or even fabricated for the sake of showmanship. Anderson uses
broken immersion as a metacommentary or analogy of the fake nature of Zizzou s documentaries and his
phony persona.

A Very Brief Look at Ireland
An old myth claims that St.Patrick used his to scare all the snakes into sea. Therefore, there are no snakes in
Ireland. Ireland gained it s independence from Great Britain in 1937. The head of Ireland is still under
Britain s command. Before Ireland became a country, Ireland was covered in ice and snow, during the the
Last Glacial Maximum. The Last Glacial Maximum is the era when ice covered northern Europe, Asia, and
America, which was about 20,000 years ago. Ireland is the sixth richest country in the world, which is
surprising because it is mostly farm land.
Around 600 and 800 B.C. Celtic tribes began to settle on Ireland. Around the 12th century Britain took the
Irish s independence. During the potato famine, in the 1840s, farmers dug up potatoes then a day after the
potatoes became slimy, blackish, mass of rottenness . About 1 1/4 million Irish left their homes. They took
ships Canada and America hoping for a better life.
On 1916, Easter Monday, Ireland started a Rebellion. The IRA , Irish Republican Army, fought Britain for
five years to win independence for 26 southern counties. The other 6 counties are still under Britain s
control. This lead to the Troubles in the 1960 s which were acts of violence on the United Kingdom Army.
The United Kingdom, United States, and Ireland was a part of a process that helped traders and sellers which

Analysis Of The Fable The Fox And The Grapes
The Admirations and Challenges of hopes, goals, and pride There are two kinds of pride, both good and bad.
Good pride represents our dignity and self respect. Bad pride is the deadly sin of superiority that reeks of
conceit and arrogance (Maxwell). In the Fable, The fox and the grapes Aesop writes about a fox who
ventures out into a vineyard full of grapes, unable to obtain the grapes the fox walks away, however not
without saying his last and final words. Aesop employs determination of the fox, the significant location of
the grapes, and belligerent attitude of the fox to portray the theme of pride. Naturally, when individuals or
animals are keen, they will discover a path to get nutrition. In the Fable, the fox comes along a vineyard
where there are delicious clusters of ripe grapes, his lip starts to relish for the grapes (Aesop 275). Indeed,
the ideas that cause individuals to savory does not constantly have to be food. It could be wanting a job
placement that offers more tax income than the current job individuals are operating with. Eager to purchase
a new home with more room for a larger family. For scholars who may desire to get all A s while in school,
or just simply pass a really difficult year. There is nothing wrong with having goals and determination in life.

There are several leadership styles represented in the film Hoosiers. This movie brings two different
concepts called transactional leadership and transformational leadership. Transactional leadership styles are
more concerned with maintaining the normal flow of operations, whereas a transformational leader goes
beyond managing the daily tasks for leading their followers to success. Transactional leadership styles also
include trying to establish direction, aligning people, they are dedicated to communication, creating teams,

Another way that Coach Norman Dale encouraged confidence in his followers was by keeping them focused
on their present task and familiarizing each one of them with their particular job on the court. It is important
to mention some of the characters such as Jimmy, the shooter, and the teacher (Myra Fleeter). Jimmy is one
of the best players in the team but he rejects to play with new coach. Therefore, coach needs to find a way to
bring him back to the team. He uses reverse psychology in the situation when he explains Jimmy that team is
all of them, not just him . Here coach shows expert power because he uses prior knowledge probably from
previous situations in his life. When we talk about the shooter and his relationship with the coach, we can
say that coach chooses the shooter for his assistant for several reasons. Firs of all, the shooter knows a lot
about basketball so he shows the expert power. Also, Coach Dale gives him another chance because people
deserve another chance . Also, some other people have previously put their trust in him by giving him,
Coach Dale, a second chance. In the case of Myra Fleener, it can be said that she displays a very autocratic
leadership style. She attempts to lead Coach Norman Dale with a firm hand with very little input. She
pretends to ignore and put off what the coach has to say, but towards the end of the film she takes Norman s
side and adjusts her leadership style to a more democratic view. She agrees with the coach that

Workchoices Act Australia
1.1 GOVERNMENT AND ORGANISATIONAL INPUT Ryan and Herod (2006, p.494) indicates that the
WorkChoices act contributed to the decline of union membership in Australia. Prior to the commencement of
the act, the rights of employers and employees were regulated by industrial tribunals, unions and
employment associations. It is detailed that the primary intentions of the WorkChoices act was to limit the
power and influence of unions and support individual bargaining in contractual agreements. It is also argued
that regulations could only be altered or changed by these counterparts, with the input of lawyers (Bray and
Waring 2006, p.46), which proved to be time consuming (Howe 2013, p.138). In addition to this, it is

as a result of negative experiences in the workplace. Marchington et al. (2016, p.299) builds on this, and

The Role Of Corruption In The Big Sleep
In The Big Sleep, author Raymond Chandler sets the scene in 1930 s America; a dark, dirty place teeming
with immorality and crime. The very thing the country blossomed from leads to its corruption and decay: the
American Dream. The Dream thrives on the thirst for money, drawing in people that want bigger and better
opportunities. By choosing Los Angeles as his setting, Chandler shows how the last area of the States
developed, the West, turned into a greedy place. Some of the most corrupt and fame hungry people flock to
Los Angeles. He also uses the time period itself because it takes place immediately after the First World War
and during the era of the Great Depression, which left lives in shambles and people in despair. Some sank to
new depths morally in order to stay afloat, which Chandler portrays through the other characters in the story.
Money motivates or corrupts nearly every character in the novel. General Sternwood lives up on a hill,
literally and figuratively, and his immense wealth comes from the oilfields below, making it dirty in almost

He fits into the role of knight in the story, with qualities of virtue and chivalry. These are demonstrated by
his refusal to take advantage of Carmen or Vivian, despite their attempts to lure him in. His lack of desire for
money differentiates Marlowe from the other characters. Charging a mere $25 a day plus expenses, he
receives small wages because he wishes to avoid becoming corrupted by wealth. He adheres to his strict
code of ethics, using it to dictate his actions. His sense of duty to his client motivates him to pursue the case
of the missing Rusty Regan. Still, Marlowe has a few faults; drinking excessively, treating others callously,
and not reporting illegal activity to law enforcement make him far from flawless. Chandler purposefully
writes Marlowe as an imperfect but inherently good

Film Analysis Of The Movie Inception
The film Inception captured the imagination of many spectators as one of the best science fiction and thriller
movies to be produced that year. It was produced and directed by Christopher Nolan who also directed The
Dark Knight, Interstellar, and Dunkirk. Inception is based on the basic inspiration that a single idea in an
individual s mind can be either the most valuable asset or the most dangerous weapon.
Inception is a science fiction thriller movie. This genre deals with situations and technology that would be
classified as scientific, but does not exist in real life. Inception connects with this because of the technology
they used to enter the dreams. Although it was never explained, the machine seems to pump somnacin into
the body. Somnacin is a drug utilized to initiate dream sharing and lucid dreaming. The movie is also
classified as a thriller because of the exciting plot. It has intense chase scenes, gun fire, explosions, and fight
scenes all within the dream state. The expectation for the movie based on the trailer would be constant
action. It seems that the main character is away from his family and is trying to get home, but the only way
he can is to do one last job. In the trailer the statement your mind is the scene of the crime is shown, this
indicates that most of the content will be in the dreams of the subject.
Inception is about as many as four levels of dreams within dreams, and dreams that eclipse reality. There

Shaking off a Hell of Dependancy and Creating the Leaping Frog
This essay assesses nonviolent actions that could leapfrog current issues perpetuating the Israel Palestine
conflict to bring about beneficial inter dependence. To scope potential outcomes I will configure the
fundamental interests of both parties, some barriers to reconciliation, then employing principles of
Constructivist theory [1], explore harnessing and coordinating the potential of creativity and technology, as
well as the influence and goodwill of social media. I conclude that this environment can lead to achievable
options providing Israel security and defuse its dominance over Palestine with two independent states [2].
Contemporary outsiders consider Israel and Palestine s bleak circumstance with fatigue, apathy and lack
commitment to support further resolutions [3]. This paralysis taps into my reactions as a young adult

determined never to stand by silent; silent, facilitating such a thing to occur again. Well, it has not been that
simple and enormous transgressions have happened again and again!

digs its boots in pursuing expansion. Reframed through a Constructivist lens this could become: Capturing

Why Canada Was An Unjust Society
Intro: Following the crash of the US market on October 29, 1929. Unemployment rates peaked in 1933
(500,000) which was twice of what it was in 1921. 1 in 5 people were unemployed. The great depression
was devastating for Canada due to it dependency on farming natural resources. For example, Saskatchewan
experienced record low prices in record history. Provincial income went down 90% within two years. This
caused Canada to become an unjust society due to its actions during the depression; it s treatment of Jewish
refugees, and its detainment of Japanese Canadians.
Thesis: Therefore between 1929 1945 Canada was an unjust society.

RB Bennett was the conservative party, prime minister of Canada who joined office in 1927.
Once in office, Bennett had few tangible visions for drawing Canadians out of the unemployment crisis. He
believed governments should interfere as little as possible in the economy (laissez faire policy). He believed
businesses would sooner or later solve the dilemma. His few efforts to control the economy involved
conventional policies. Bennett raised tariffs to extraordinary levels in an effort to guard Canadian markets
and convinced Britain to offer Canada some favored trading opportunities. In Bennett s speech for Pm he
said, The Conservative Party is going to find work for all who are willing to work, or perish in the attempt,
he told a Moncton audience while on the campaign trail. Mr. King promises consideration of the problem of
employment. I promise to end unemployment. Which plan do you like best? . Although he promised this, he

Tax In Australia Essay
Over 570,000 backpackers travelled Australia in 2009 and many did so on Working Holiday Visas (WHVs)
to help cover the costs. Tax is the last thing backpackers think about when in Australia; that is until it comes
time to leave or file their tax return...
Having arrived in Australia under a WHVs a number of years ago I have the first hand experience of how
difficult it is to understand a new tax regime, especially one which is obscured by myths, hearsay and
misleading information. For many backpackers, this is their first experience of tax and may be their first job

This article may help you find out some of the myths and address some issues surrounding tax in Australia

The rate of tax that you pay depends on your individual situation, how much you have earned, other income
you have received and deductions you may (or may not!) be entitled too.
Typically, if an individual is travelling frequently, employed in casual roles and not classed as an Australian
resident for tax purposes, they will pay 29% of all earnings. This is because the Australian Tax Office (ATO)
assumes they have income in another country and place a flat rate on all earnings to simplify the process.
Tax agents can get you 100% of your tax back
Tax is a complex matter and using a tax agent to help you can be a good call if you are unsure of some
aspect of your return. However, any agent that promises to get you all of the tax you paid returned to you
should be treated with caution.
They may be trying to mislead you or they could be lying to the tax office on your behalf either way, you
will end up in a lot of trouble. You will always be made to sign a document taking responsibility for the
actions of the tax agent.
If you want to get an estimate of your tax liability or refund due, the ATO has free calculators that you can

Compare The Rate Law For The Reaction Between Crystal...
Rate Law for the reaction crystal violet and hydroxide ions
Objective
This experiment was to determine the rate law for the crystal violet with hydroxyl ions reaction.
Materials
Crystal violet dye, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and spectrophotometer were used in this experiment.
Theory
The rate of reaction is a topic in chemical kinetics that explains the speed at which the chemicals interact or
it is the rate at which a product is formed by a chemical reaction. There are factors that determine the rate of
a particular reaction. These factors include; reactant concentration, the temperature of the reaction and
presence or absence of a catalyst. Most chemical reactions increase in speed as the concentration of the
reactant increases. This is because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because the moles of crystal violet dye react with the hydroxyl ions present in sodium hydroxide
(Wheeler and Sigmann 328). The slopes of both the first order and second order graphs of In (concentration)
against time gave the rate constant (k) of each reactant. For the first order absorbance reaction, the
concentration of sodium hydroxide was 0.01M, which has a reaction rate constant of 0.055 (mol dm 3 s 1)
while the reaction rate constant of the first order absorbance where the concentration of sodium hydroxide,
0.020M, was 0.095 (mol dm 3 s 1). When rate constant (NaOH 0.01M) was divided by (NaOH 0.020M)
gave 0.579 (mol dm 3 s 1). The functional change of y as the concentration rate changes is calculated to be
0.8. Therefore, the order of reaction with respect to the hydroxyl ions was 0.8.
Conclusion
In this experiment, the reaction order with respect to hydroxyl ions was calculated. The comparison of rate 1
(initial concentration) and rate two (second concentration) showed that the value of y which is the rate of
reaction in respect to hydroxyl ions was 0.8. Therefore, the order of reaction with respect to hydroxide ions
was 0.8. By using the graphical method, the value of x=1. x represents the order of reaction with respect to
dye(crystal violet). The overall rate law was found to be; Rate=k [crystal violet] 1[hydroxide ions]

Siddhartha-the Shape of Time Essay
For many Westerners, more specifically the driven citizens of the United States of America, time is viewed
as a straight line. Our children realize this, consciously or not, early on. They make timelines in school, their
classes switch on the hour, their intelligence is measured on a scale. We are born, we come of age during
adolescence. We set a goal, we work to achieve success. Birth and death, childhood and adulthood are stages
that occur only once. Life is black and white. Separate. The past is the past, the future is the future. Traveling
on a straight line, we can only look forwards.
Eastern philosophy, on the other hand, might view time as a circle, a spiral, a figure eight. Time has no sharp

It was this idea that Hesse built Siddhartha on. It was this idea that allowed Siddhartha to be reincarnated not
in terms of physical life, but rather in terms of spirit.
Lao Tzu, credited with penning the Tao Te Ching, noted that a good traveler has no fixed plans/and is not
intent on arriving. Thus, he rejected the linear concept of time, as did Siddhartha as he made his journey.
The book opens with the title character s decision to leave his traditional Hindu community and upbringing
to seek Atman through asceticism. Siddhartha and his friend, Govinda, adopt the life of the Samanas.
Siddhartha thinks, waits, and fasts. He struggles to free himself from The Self: the materialistic, mortal part
of him. But he is anxious to attain a state of bliss. As a young Brahmin, he was always the strongest, the
cleverest, the fastest. He expects to find the most efficient way to Atman, just as he excelled in every other
area of his life. The ascetic life disappoints him.
Siddhartha replied: `How old, do you think, is our oldest Samana, our worthy teacher?
Govinda said: `I think the eldest would be about sixty years old.
And Siddhartha said: `He is sixty years old and has not attained Nirvana. He will be seventy and eighty
years old, and you and I, we shall grow as old as he, and do exercises and fast

The Monster Figurative Language
The lyrics to a song called The Monster by Eminem are different than the lyrics to any other rap that I have

speaker of The Monster is I , which we know is the author, Eminem. This means that the point of view of
this poem is first person. In this song, Eminem is recounting events that are occurring. By looking at lines
such as I wanted the fame, but not the cover of Newsweek and Hit the lottery, oh wee (next line:) But with

For one thing, I realized that this poem has no setting, and that there isn t a particular event. Then, I
examined the figurative language of the song, and if there are any patterns. The Monster is mostly made up
of figurative language, making it quite thought provoking. I noticed that it all refers back to his fame and his
struggles. Basically, all of the figurative language is about the same topic. I also noticed that there are two
main types that the author uses: idioms/expressions and similes. ...For wanting my cake I eat it too, and
wanting it both ways is an example of an idiom used in the song. Going cuckoo and cooky as Kool Keith
and Ironic cause I think I m getting so huge I need a shrink are only two of the many similes in The Monster.
Thirdly in my deep analysis of this song, I determined the structure of this poem. I came to conclusions that
every stanza has sixteen (16) line plus a (1) line leading into the chorus. So every stanza includes seventeen
(17) lines. In addition, I determined that there is a lot of rhyming, but there seems to be no

Novel Analysis Of Persepolis By Marjane Satrapi

wall of texts on each page. Having a book with hundred pages of text and words can cause some readers to
not like reading. That is why many readers prefer reading graphic books or novels. Persepolis by Marjane
Satrapi is a graphic novel about a young girl growing up in Iran during the Iranian Revolution and the Iran
Iraq War. Satrapi choose to tell her story in graphic novel form instead of normal prose based novel because

the author has more power over what appears on the page and what the readers will visualize because it s in

Another important factor is due to technology advancements. As technology continues to improve, lighter
and more durable prosthetic limbs are becoming available. But this may not decrease the cost of the limb
base on how the economy works. The cost for artificial limbs varies depending on the parts one needs and
whether or not one has insurance. For patients with insurance, the out of pocket costs should be around 10%
50%. The cost for artificial limbs also depends on the patient s amputation level, condition and needs. If the
patient has a higher level of needs then the insurance would be more likely to pay for a higher percentage of
cost or provide a better prosthetic limb to compensate the needs. However, for patients without healthcare
insurance, the cost of prosthetic limbs would increase drastically. Normally, a basic prosthetic leg can be
costed less $10,000, but a more advanced prosthetic leg would cost up to $70,000 or more depending of the
level of amputation and the type of leg. Not only that artificial limbs are extremely expensive, the cost of a
new limb can add up over a lifetime as well. This is due to the lifespan of a prosthetic limb is often limited
to 3 to 5 years. Therefore, it means that the limb would need to replace every few years and cost for each

Avioral Model Of The MARS Model
MARS model is a predictive behavioural model that aims at analyzing how four major factors drive the
human behaviour and the way that behaviour gets translated into results. In other words, a combination of
these four factors decides or predicts human behaviour and performance. MARS stands for Motivation,
Ability, Role Perceptions and Situational Factors. MARS model takes into account the fact that both internal
as well as external factors play a decisive role in molding one s behaviours and performance. Motivation,
ability and role perceptions are factors that are under control of an individual and hence can be viewed as
internal factors motivation and ability are either innate, or acquired or learnt, and role perceptions denote the
idea and image one has of one s role and the way he perceives or understands it. On the contrary, situational
factors are external ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Employee behaviours are the performance enabling behaviours, i.e. those particular behaviours that lead an
individual to demonstrate a stellar or an average or an inferior performance. As per MARS model,
motivation, abilities, role perceptions and situational factors act together in synergy to result in a particular
type of behaviour and performance. It is crucial to note that absence of any of these factors will not result in
the expected performance despite the influence of other factors. Say, for example, an employee has enough
motivation to perform his job nicely, a clear understanding of his role expectations and positive or
empowering situational factors, but is deficient in abilities, i.e. competencies needed to perform the job
efficiently. In such a situation, the employee won t be able to deliver the expected level of performance.
Similarly, an individual with adequate motivation, abilities and facilitating situational factors, will fail to be

An Incident At Johnny A s Third Rail Pub
This claim arises out of a lawsuit filed in Kane County, Illinois involving an incident at Johnny A s Third
Rail Pub, a local pub owned by the Insured, Beslidheje, Inc. Mr. Tefik Ashiku owns and operates the Insured
corporate entity. The pub operates out of a building owned by the co defendant, Junaid Zubairi. Plaintiff s

In short, on the night of the incident, the City of South Elgin was hosting its annual festival, Riverfest, near
the pub. There were light towers located throughout the festival grounds, which illuminated the surrounding
buildings, including the pub. Plaintiff came into the pub, ordered one beer and, at some point, left the pub.
An unknown patron then alerted Ashiku and his bartender that Plaintiff had fallen near the bottom of the
stairs. Plaintiff refused assistance from the bartender including an offer to call an ambulance and left in a
vehicle driven by her friend. The lights above the stairs were functional and the village s light towers
brightly illuminated the stairs. The bartender described the plaintiff as being about 5 8 tall and weighing
about 300 pounds. She believes

Unlike store image which refers to functional properties of a retail store including value of money, selection
of product and service s quality, store personality is a mental representation of a retail store on dimensions
that generally describe personality of an individual. There are five dimensions comprised a retail store s
personality such as sophistication, solidity, genuineness, enthusiasm and unpleasantness (d Astous Levesque,
2003).
Once store image is accepted by shoppers, store personality is important in consumers buying behavior as
the buying decision made depends on their experiences of such personality factors as architecture, color
design, music, advertising, sale personnel etc (Martineu, 1958). Colors and designs of a retail store which
can capture customers eyes and attention firstly, music played in store which is highly successful in catching
people attention and the way items displayed in the store, etc, create pleasant feeling and emotion in
customers while walking in the store. Sale personnel, furthermore, play a vital role in shaping customers
mental representation of a retail store (Martineau, 1985). Through those factors, a retail store also creates its
own personality which then will be perceived by shoppers. As a result, customers might perceive store s
personality in either positive that they like store personality or they achieved unfavourable experiences in the
store. People, who

Informative Essay On Television Shows
Television shows that I believe are quality programs, breaking bad, being nominated for 58 industry awards
but winning a total of 28, the critically acclaimed show always kept its storyline fresh and unpredictable, as
well as the characters in the show. Since Bryan Cranston s performance alone was outstanding and thrilling,
it kept the viewer at the edge of their seat wanting more. Because people wanted more, the show received
high ratings which led to the growth of its popularity that catapulted the show to one of the top shows of the
decade. The second program to be quality worthy is Game of Thrones with 248 industry awards from
Golden Globes to Emmy awards, the scenery in the show is vibrant, the level of detail of it s beautiful

Universally trashy would be pornography only because we ve been taught for it to be a shame factor. Clearly
there are many religious, laws and social taboos against the practice and use of pornography. Italian culture
has tasteful products from the arts, architecture to its divine cuisine and music. Italy is a land rich in culture,
history and beauty. Culture as Skyscraper makes more sense to me because it makes me understand the idea
of top floors are associated with good taste and lower floor being associated with low culture/popular culture
. Good taste meaning the arts held in the highest admiration by a culture, linking from our reading this week
which is available primarily in libraries, theatres, and museums. In contrast, low or popular cultures is
aligned with the questionable tastes of the masses, who enjoy the commercial junk circulated by the mass
media (Campbell, Martin Fabos, 2017

Stagecoach Film Analysis
Throughout the films I have watched this semester, American Indians have been constructed and represented
in many different ways. Throughout this semester, different films in different eras have led to stereotyping
American Indians and poorly portraying the construction of Native life. At the beginning of this semester,
films portrayed Indians as savages who couldn t kill a cowboy, but at the end of the semester, that stereotype
changed into American Indians represented as helpless people who cannot be rescued from the alcoholism
and distress found on reservations. The ways the Native Americans are portrayed in these films create an
image that America views Indians in today s society. In the first films viewed in class, they created the life ...

Stagecoach represents Native Americans as noble savages, a typical Hollywood Indian in western movies. A
noble savage is a racist term used to describe a character as a wild person who symbolizes the goodness of
humanity. They are an outsider who has not been civilized yet. This representation of Indians is completely
stereotyped and is completely inaccurate but was created for the entertainment of white audiences who
watch western films. The film Stagecoach is a complete western style film with scenes of cowboys versus
Indians, in which the Indians are helpless, and cowboys seem to come out of the middle of the desert (Ford,
1939). These types of western films portray the American Indians through basic stereotypes such as riding
horses with bows and arrows, they are always outnumbered, and they are portrayed in a dehumanizing style.
These films act as if Indians are wild animals and not as actual people. The cowboys always are the heroes
and the Indians always are incapable of surviving. Due to western movies, America now has the image of
the Hollywood Indian that some people still believe Indians are in today s society. The representation of
Indians in Stagecoach creates a visual that Indians are impotent and not humane. American Indians are
always seen as the bad guys in western films which allows today s society to use the image of Indians as
costumes for Halloween and allows people to see Indians as an object and not

Aviation Security Airport Management
Individual Essay
Name: FUNG, Ching Yan Zara

An efficient and secure aviation system is essential within Australia s aviation industry since it connects
cities and Australia to the rest of the world. Aviation security refers to the prevention of terrorism and acts of
unlawful interference and help safeguard Australia s aviation transport system. The Australian Government
regulates the Australian aviation security environment through the Aviation Transport Security Act
2004(ATSA) and the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005 (ATSR).
Pre Flight Security Checks
After the events of 911, security in airport has been heavily strengthened in Australia. Passenger and luggage
security screening has become the most visible and strong deterrent layer to prevent unlawful acts.
Passengers and their cabin baggage must be screened prior to boarding aircrafts. It ensures items such as
explosives, firearms, prohibited items (e.g. items with sharp edges or points capable of injuring people) and
weapons that have potential to be used in an attack on the aircraft are prevented from being taken onboard. (
What You Cannot Take On Board | Security | Prepare | Sydney Airport , 2016) To protect against the threat
of liquid explosives, quantity limits rules for Liquid, Aerosol and Gels passengers may take onboard were

Evolution Of The Middle Ages
When Petrarch divided history into three periods the classical zenith, the age of cultural rot and decay, and
the age in which there would be a revival of classical values and art he did so with the conviction that he was
living in the middle age. This division was wholly secular, and yet Protestant leaders of the Reformation
began and encouraged the study of the Middle Ages. They sought to prove that the Catholic church of the
16th century was doctrinally deviant from the church of apostolic times and pointed to the Middle Ages as
the beginning of that deviance. Voltaire studied the Middle Ages in the eighteenth century to scorn its
thinkers for their lack of reason a result, in his view, of their emphasis on religion. These perceptions ...

An era can be transitional between two other culturally dominant periods of history without being primitive
or barbaric. However, the insistence on continuity and the overt rejection of a decline in the modern study of
the Middle Ages has blurred the perception of the era as a distinctive period. As Edward James discusses in
his article, The Rise and Function of the Concept Late Antiquity, downplaying the crises of the third century,
the barbarian invasions, the fall of the western Roman Empire, and even the mid 500s Black Death may lend
credence to the idea of late antiquity, but it also assumes that the problems of the West were shared by the
East. In my discussion, I focused on the West, but my focus does not contradict my point that the term
Middle Ages as a transitory age does not have to be a negative one for it to still be seen as distinct. The fact
that the Roman Empire and the Italian Renaissance were prominent periods in the development of European
culture does not negate the significance of the social, technological, and demographic development that
occurred in the era between those

6TH Marine Regiment Research Paper
LCPL Dubuisson, Bryce A. 20160922 The History of 6TH Marine Regiment The 6TH Marine Regiment is
an infantry regiment of the United States Marine Corps based at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North
Carolina. The regiment falls under the command of the 2nd Marine Division of the II Marine Expeditionary
Force. In 1917, the 6TH Marine Regiment was ativated on 11 July at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia
to fight in World War I1. In early 1918, 6TH Marine Regiment joined the 5TH Marine Regiment and the
6TH Machine Gun Battalion to form the 4TH Brigade. In March of 1918 near Verdun the Marine Brigade
entered th trenches of the Toulon Sector, where the regiment suffered its first combat casualties1. Being
forced to wear Army uniforms the only thing Marines had to to set themselves apart was a cover with an
eagle globe and ancore. This did not sit will ith the marines so they desiged a patch. It had a black shield
white star and indian head with a full war dress2. The black was to mourne and respect their fallen brothers,
the shield stood for defense of each other and their country, the star was to show respect for the marines
commanding general Bridger Genral John A lejeune, and the indian head was to show the fighting spirte of
the marines themselves2. The Marines would wear this patch in battle and it was a sybole that the enemy
feared, a symbole that the Germans gave the name shock troops to those who wore it1. The 4th Brigade was
ordered to reinforce crumbling French lines near Château Thierry in late May 1918. The 6TH Regiment took

Mortality In Blade Runner
Some things can be described as immortal; their appeal spans beyond the decades and reaches out to
audiences from different eras and ages, while others fade with changing times and ideals. Blade Runner, a
1982 science fiction film that revolves around the idea of mortality, could be classified as immortal itself;
and timeless too is the chess game between Adolf Anderssen and Lionel Kieseritzky that was dubbed the
Immortal Game, which, to some extent, was the chess game that the one in the movie was modelled off.
Blade Runner uses the game between Sebastian and Tyrell as well as its parallels in other parts of the movie,
to explore the characteristics of humans. The chess scenes highlight human fallibilities: the fear of losing

Chess used to be a game played primarily between a father and son; the father would train the son, and then
they would play against each other. This represents the relationship between Batty and Tyrell; Tyrell says to
Batty, affectionately, you re the prodigal son , suggesting he views Batty as a son, not just his creation, and
Tyrell is also the one who gave Batty his intelligence. As Tyrell walks toward the chessboard in his room, his
clattering, uneven steps and the high camera angle position him in weakness, and when Batty defeats him in
the game, the balance of power shifts completely. The way in which Batty says check...mate , savouring the
taste of each individual syllable, foreshadow his cold, merciless and calculated murders, starting with two
men who helped his creation. Humans have the capacity to build machines to make life easier, as the
replicants were used in Off world development, but humans also have the capacity to build machines
dangerous enough to kill them, and in Blade Runner, this is one

Persuasive Essay About Black Friday
I normally participate in the Black Friday festivities myself so, going out and just asking questions was a
normal part of it. It started about 6 years ago when I went out Black Friday shopping with two of my best
friends. The three of us went to Best Buy with the intention of our friend Hansford getting this surround
sound speaker for $200 that was regularly $300 I believe. It was my first time ever going as well as theirs
too I believe. We were a year out of High School and all had jobs so once Hansford suggested it Jagger and I
agreed to go out with him. We ended up leaving Thanksgiving dinner at about 8 and getting to Best Buy
shortly after because the store opened at 12 a.m. that night. We sat out in the cold talked and joked for about
4 hours to only get in the store and Hansford decide he did not want the speaker anymore. Since that year I
have been out for Black Friday even though two of the years I worked at Champs Sports for them. Now
Black Friday is not even Black Friday its more so Black Thanksgiving Shopping. This year I decided to
spend Thanksgiving in Ohio with my in laws where I did not really know the area or what to expect. My
plans this year was to leave the dinner at about 3 and get to Best Buy for this 49 inch TV that was $180 but,
when I got to Best Buy there was already well over 100 people waiting in the line because the doors opened
at 5 p.m. So, I decided to go across the street to a target where a 55 inch TV was on sale for $250. When I
arrived a

  • 2. Playboy Research Paper I was raised and I think it probably was a cause and effect correlation here in a very Puritan home and there were very few hugs and kisses in my home. No education or conversation about sex. I grew up believing in fairly traditional views and values about sex. I didn t have sexual intercourse for the first time until I was out of college and I had spent two years in the army and it was with the girl I was planning on marrying. And she was my first wife. I believe that was typical of my peers. My friends and classmates and chums were all pretty much the same. It was the typical Midwestern, middle class life. Very different than life today ( Hugh Hefner Discusses Playboy s Legacy, par. 3). Those are the words of Hugh M. Hefner, an American adult publisher who was just the average Puritan raised fellow before his sexually driven Playboy enterprise took the world by storm in the 1950s. But this out of the box ... The women on the show were shown more so as objects to set the mood of the seductive programming, unlike Hefner s 21st century television comeback The Girls Next Door. This time around, the women on the show were given more value as Hefner openly obtains a relationship with leading Playboy Bunnies Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson, and Bridget Marquardt (par. 23). Keeping the appeal and magnificence of its ancient culture unharmed, modern Egypt has absorbed the contemporary ways of life. Artifacts and what s left that were found during excavations reveal to us that ancient Egyptians were very fashionable and culturally aware. Now, Egyptians are very fond of arts, music and sports. Football is the favorite sport of the Egyptians. Family ties are also very strong in Egypt. The males respect Egyptian women, which makes most of the big cities such as Cairo and Alexandria much safer for women than any western cities such as Sudan and Kuwait. The ancient Egyptians were very religious minded. Gods and goddesses were part of everyday life of ancient Egyptians. They had gods and goddesses who they had persistent faith. Religious practices of ancient Egypt were linked to movements of holy bodies such as constellations, the sun, the moon, and the planets. Some of the most respected idols of ancient Egyptians are Osiris and Isis. Now, Egypt s population mainly consists of Sunni Muslims and Coptic Christians. The amazing thing about the written word is that it has no conviction; every literate human being has the same tools at their disposal and yet no two writers ever have the same flavor. I was fortunate enough to have recognized this at a young age. I immersed myself in all aspects of the written word: lyrics, poetry, fiction, nonfiction, etc. What has always excited me as a writer is my appreciation for the power that words can have on people. From Stephen King to Stephen Biko, every great writer that I have come across has further entrenched me in my passion for writing. • 7. Scope And Implementation Of A Vm Program Introduction [RELATIVE TO AUDIENCE] Scope and Implementation In order to implement a VM program an organization must assign responsibilities to perform patching and vulnerability management. For the purposes of this document it shall be referred to as the patch and vulnerability management group (PVG). This group may be a separate entity or the responsibilities may be a subset of an IT operations or services team. There may be several PVG s within an organization, central coordination of these groups directly or indirectly must be implemented. Automate Patching As much as possible, the burden of implementing and testing remediations should be shifted from local administrators to the PVG. This should save money by eliminating duplication of effort (e.g., multiple system administrators testing the same patch on similar computers) and by enabling automated solutions, thereby avoiding costly manual installations. The easiest way to accomplish this is by implementing enterprise patching solutions that allow the PVG, or a group they work closely with, to automatically push patches out to many computers quickly. Harden Systems and Standardize Configurations For the PVG to be able to adequately test automatically deployed patches, organizations should use standardized configurations for IT devices (e.g., desktop computers, routers, firewalls, servers) as much as possible. Enterprise patch management tools will be ineffective if deployed in an environment where every IT ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All the evolutes of Prakrti are unconscious by nature but because Purusha is getting reflected at citta, that reflection makes citta as if conscious and it starts to function. Next reflection of Purusha is on ahamkar and so ahamkar is conscious, thus all the body parts are conscious. Purusha can never become one, either with ahamkara or tanmatras or panchamahabhutas. By nature, it cannot. Philosophically we say Sankhya is uncompromising dualism, atheistic realism and spiritualistic pluralism. Dualism is two principles. There is no compromise possible between these two. Neither can Purusha give rise to Prakrti nor Prakrti to Purusha. They are existing from eternity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Karmashaya means ashaya of karmas like any time an activity is performed or a deed, an act, any time the thought / emotion passes the mind along with feeling or getting that experience there is an impression of that experience carried in one s own self. When one is thirsty, thirst is quenched by drinking a cold drink. But in the citta the storage takes place that the drink was very nice. This storage of impression gets accumulated for every act (karma), whether it is a thought crossing the mind, an act or feeling, whatever happens this storage of impression gets added. The karmashaya increases. E.g.; every karma has two results, one is the karma phala the thirst was quenched. Phala is immediate but along with the phala samskara is generated. Samskara is the problem. The samskara is the seed or source for further action. After a gap of time when one feels thirsty again, the previous drink which satisfied the thirst is remembered. During the intervening period the drink was not there in the consciousness, but the moment the circumstances or the situations ripen, immediately the samskara comes up. The Success Factors Of Multinational Corporations One of the most essential success factor in multinational corporations is related with the organization s group of extremely competent international leaders and managers who have the global knowledge of consumer demands for services as well as products in a world scale, the knowledge of production and service capabilities, and also who can influence others in spite of diverse cultural or political backgrounds that make them think, analyze, decide, act and communicate in a different way than the leader (Teagarden, n.d). One of the challenges multicultural corporations have is to identify the right people with the skill sets and aptitudes to manage in global organizations. These skills include the culture, the language, the knowledge of markets, the adaptability and the Global Mindset. In the following chart is a summary of these skills and techniques of a manager in MNC in contrast of a manager with a local presence: Skill/Technique Global Management Local Management Culture Sensitivity  The ability to understand different cultural contexts and viewpoints  Adapts to different cultures  Manage diverse teams  Do not have to deal with different cultures  The awareness of the own culture is not a critical skill to have Communication  Knowledge of a foreign language  Demonstrating strong communication skills  It is not necessary to be multilingual Global Mindset  Ability to understand and interpret what is going on in a global situation  Do no need to have a global ... • 10. The South China Sea Essay Since the 3rd Century AD, the South China Sea has been home to countless territorial disputes between China, the Philippines, Vietnam, and other East Asian Nations. This region is so contentious because it is one of the busiest trade routes, and is home to vast natural resources. Because of the long and dense history of them, these disputes are some of the most difficult events to understand and interpret in international relations. Because the disputes deal with relative power, and the security dilemma, looking at the events through a realist lens is the most practical way of analyzing them. Although there have been small disputes dating back to the 3rd Century, conflict in the South China Sea really started to heat up in the early 1900 s. In the 19th Century, France had been heavily involved in the South China Sea because they had colonized French Indochina (present day Vietnam). However France was more concerned about control of the Gulf of Tonkin than the entire South China Sea. The early disputes were primarily over the Paracel Islands, a group of islands somewhat in between China and Vietnam. In 1902 (Serverino, 2010, p.76), China ordered the first official exploration of the islands preemptively because they were worried the the French might try to claim the islands as part of Indochina s territory. Then in the 1920 s, both Japan and France claimed to own the Paracel s. It was around this time that China said the Paracel s were the southernmost part of its territory. ... • 11. Prenatal Screening And Prenatal Development Throughout all of mankind s history all living beings have shared a common trait since their conception, prenatal development. Prenatal development can easily be categorized as a fascinating period of great anatomical and physiological progress. Yet, as time progresses and the wonders of medical technology advance at a limitless pace, such a time has recently been viewed as a period of constant and profound examinations for unborn infants. The term, prenatal examinations, can be divided into the three categories of prenatal screenings, genetic screenings, and diagnostic screenings. Prenatal screenings are primarily involved with the detections of the possible abnormalities and conditions that may be displayed by the infants. However, it has been vastly emphasized to be a non definitive diagnosis for most pregnancies. The normal and recommended blood tests as well as ultrasounds throughout pregnancies classify as a realm of prenatal screenings. Genetic screenings, considered by many to be a complex version of prenatal screenings, examine the alterations of the chromosomes, genes, and proteins of the fetus. Currently, genetic screenings are sub divided into three main categories, molecular genetic screenings, chromosomal genetic screenings, and biochemical genetic screenings. Molecular screenings examine the genes of a fetus in an attempt to recognize any mutations in the DNA of the fetus and to detect the likelihood of the development of a genetic disorder. The World Of Convection, Conduction, And Radiation The World of Convection, Conduction, and Radiation In our physical world, there are a multitude of phenomenon that occur daily that we experience that often go unnoticed. It contains a vast array of conceptual applications and the equations applied to them in order to better explain and calculate the phenomenon involved. In a normal occurrence an individual can explain and calculate certain aspects of movement and processes that are also involved with it. When dealing with the transferring of heat and various process related to heat, the terms convection, conduction and radiation are frequently discussed thoroughly. The overall field of thermodynamics involves the study of thermal processes in physical systems. Some terms involved with these particular concepts include: closed system, empirical law, free energy, joule s law, specific, temperature, and thermodynamics. The general defined term of convection is the heat transfer by mass motion of a fluid such as air or water when the heated fluid is caused to move away from the source of heat, carrying energy with it (Georgia State University). In the world of physics, the term conduction is usually defined as a form of heat transfer by the way of molecular tension inside an object or material that does not show any individual motion in its entirety (Georgia State University). Radiation by means of physics related terms is defined as the emission or transmission of energy in the form of waves or particles through a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zizzou Analysis The magic of film is that it can tightly control what the viewer sees. A camera s ability to let directors decide what is explicitly shown and what is merely implied makes it a powerful storytelling tool. The average director wishes to immerse the viewer as much as possible, using lavish special effects and high tech equipment to hide the artificiality of the film under a thick layer of polish. When a film breaks this immersion it is usually considered to be a technical or creative failure. Other films for various reasons decide to deliberately either break the viewers immersion or never immerse them in the first place. A good example of one of these deliberately false films is The Life Aquatic with Steve Zizzou, directed by Wes Anderson in 2004. Without giving much detail it is the story of Steve Zizzou (portrayed by Bill Murray,) a documentarist and oceanographer who vows to avenge a comrade who was allegedly killed by a jaguar shark. However though the course of the film it is revealed that the eponymous character is not the knowledgeable adventurer that he claims to be, in fact being an incompetent hack more concerned with wealth and prestige than anything else. Though Zizzou s films appear to have adequate production values it is revealed that much of it is inaccurate or even fabricated for the sake of showmanship. Anderson uses broken immersion as a metacommentary or analogy of the fake nature of Zizzou s documentaries and his phony persona. An excellent example of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ireland gained it s independence from Great Britain in 1937. The head of Ireland is still under Britain s command. Before Ireland became a country, Ireland was covered in ice and snow, during the the Last Glacial Maximum. The Last Glacial Maximum is the era when ice covered northern Europe, Asia, and America, which was about 20,000 years ago. Ireland is the sixth richest country in the world, which is surprising because it is mostly farm land. Around 600 and 800 B.C. Celtic tribes began to settle on Ireland. Around the 12th century Britain took the Irish s independence. Another way that Coach Norman Dale encouraged confidence in his followers was by keeping them focused on their present task and familiarizing each one of them with their particular job on the court. It is important to mention some of the characters such as Jimmy, the shooter, and the teacher (Myra Fleeter). Jimmy is one of the best players in the team but he rejects to play with new coach. Therefore, coach needs to find a way to bring him back to the team. He uses reverse psychology in the situation when he explains Jimmy that team is all of them, not just him . Here coach shows expert power because he uses prior knowledge probably from previous situations in his life. When we talk about the shooter and his relationship with the coach, we can say that coach chooses the shooter for his assistant for several reasons. Firs of all, the shooter knows a lot about basketball so he shows the expert power. Also, Coach Dale gives him another chance because people deserve another chance . Also, some other people have previously put their trust in him by giving him, Coach Dale, a second chance. In the case of Myra Fleener, it can be said that she displays a very autocratic leadership style. She attempts to lead Coach Norman Dale with a firm hand with very little input. She pretends to ignore and put off what the coach has to say, but towards the end of the film she takes Norman s side and adjusts her leadership style to a more democratic view. Prior to the commencement of the act, the rights of employers and employees were regulated by industrial tribunals, unions and employment associations. It is detailed that the primary intentions of the WorkChoices act was to limit the power and influence of unions and support individual bargaining in contractual agreements. It is also argued that regulations could only be altered or changed by these counterparts, with the input of lawyers (Bray and Waring 2006, p.46), which proved to be time consuming (Howe 2013, p.138). The very thing the country blossomed from leads to its corruption and decay: the American Dream. The Dream thrives on the thirst for money, drawing in people that want bigger and better opportunities. By choosing Los Angeles as his setting, Chandler shows how the last area of the States developed, the West, turned into a greedy place. Some of the most corrupt and fame hungry people flock to Los Angeles. He also uses the time period itself because it takes place immediately after the First World War and during the era of the Great Depression, which left lives in shambles and people in despair. Rate Law for the reaction crystal violet and hydroxide ions Objective This experiment was to determine the rate law for the crystal violet with hydroxyl ions reaction. Materials Crystal violet dye, sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and spectrophotometer were used in this experiment. Theory The rate of reaction is a topic in chemical kinetics that explains the speed at which the chemicals interact or it is the rate at which a product is formed by a chemical reaction. Most chemical reactions increase in speed as the concentration of the reactant increases. This is because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because the moles of crystal violet dye react with the hydroxyl ions present in sodium hydroxide (Wheeler and Sigmann 328). The slopes of both the first order and second order graphs of In (concentration) against time gave the rate constant (k) of each reactant. For the first order absorbance reaction, the concentration of sodium hydroxide was 0.01M, which has a reaction rate constant of 0.055 (mol dm 3 s 1) while the reaction rate constant of the first order absorbance where the concentration of sodium hydroxide, 0.020M, was 0.095 (mol dm 3 s 1). When rate constant (NaOH 0.01M) was divided by (NaOH 0.020M) gave 0.579 (mol dm 3 s 1). The functional change of y as the concentration rate changes is calculated to be 0.8. Therefore, the order of reaction with respect to the hydroxyl ions was 0.8. Conclusion In this experiment, the reaction order with respect to hydroxyl ions was calculated. The comparison of rate 1 (initial concentration) and rate two (second concentration) showed that the value of y which is the rate of reaction in respect to hydroxyl ions was 0.8. Therefore, the order of reaction with respect to hydroxide ions was 0.8. By using the graphical method, the value of x=1. x represents the order of reaction with respect to dye(crystal violet). • 38. Avioral Model Of The MARS Model MARS model is a predictive behavioural model that aims at analyzing how four major factors drive the human behaviour and the way that behaviour gets translated into results. In other words, a combination of these four factors decides or predicts human behaviour and performance. MARS stands for Motivation, Ability, Role Perceptions and Situational Factors. MARS model takes into account the fact that both internal as well as external factors play a decisive role in molding one s behaviours and performance. Motivation, ability and role perceptions are factors that are under control of an individual and hence can be viewed as internal factors motivation and ability are either innate, or acquired or learnt, and role perceptions denote the idea and image one has of one s role and the way he perceives or understands it. Employee behaviours are the performance enabling behaviours, i.e. those particular behaviours that lead an individual to demonstrate a stellar or an average or an inferior performance. As per MARS model, motivation, abilities, role perceptions and situational factors act together in synergy to result in a particular type of behaviour and performance. It is crucial to note that absence of any of these factors will not result in the expected performance despite the influence of other factors. Say, for example, an employee has enough motivation to perform his job nicely, a clear understanding of his role expectations and positive or empowering situational factors, but is deficient in abilities, i.e. competencies needed to perform the job efficiently. In such a situation, the employee won t be able to deliver the expected level of performance. Similarly, an individual with adequate motivation, abilities and facilitating situational factors, will fail to be a super performer if he doesn t have the correct role ... An Incident At Johnny A s Third Rail Pub This claim arises out of a lawsuit filed in Kane County, Illinois involving an incident at Johnny A s Third Rail Pub, a local pub owned by the Insured, Beslidheje, Inc. Mr. Tefik Ashiku owns and operates the Insured corporate entity. The pub operates out of a building owned by the co defendant, Junaid Zubairi. Plaintiff s lawsuit alleges negligence against both Beslidheje, Inc. and Zubairi, claiming that the stairway had insufficient or inoperative lighting at the time she fell. We have had further discussions with Mr. Ashiku, Mr. Zubairi, and Ms. Kristen Finkensher, the bartender on duty on the night of the occurrence. Their statements are consistent with the facts stated in our prior report. In short, on the night of the incident, the City of South Elgin was hosting its annual festival, Riverfest, near the pub. There were light towers located throughout the festival grounds, which illuminated the surrounding buildings, including the pub. Plaintiff came into the pub, ordered one beer and, at some point, left the pub. An unknown patron then alerted Ashiku and his bartender that Plaintiff had fallen near the bottom of the stairs. Plaintiff refused assistance from the bartender including an offer to call an ambulance and left in a vehicle driven by her friend. The lights above the stairs were functional and the village s light towers brightly illuminated the stairs. The bartender described the plaintiff as being about 5 8 tall and weighing about 300 pounds. She believes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unlike store image which refers to functional properties of a retail store including value of money, selection of product and service s quality, store personality is a mental representation of a retail store on dimensions that generally describe personality of an individual. There are five dimensions comprised a retail store s personality such as sophistication, solidity, genuineness, enthusiasm and unpleasantness (d Astous Levesque, 2003). Once store image is accepted by shoppers, store personality is important in consumers buying behavior as the buying decision made depends on their experiences of such personality factors as architecture, color design, music, advertising, sale personnel etc (Martineu, 1958). Colors and designs of a retail store which can capture customers eyes and attention firstly, music played in store which is highly successful in catching people attention and the way items displayed in the store, etc, create pleasant feeling and emotion in customers while walking in the store. Throughout this semester, different films in different eras have led to stereotyping American Indians and poorly portraying the construction of Native life. At the beginning of this semester, films portrayed Indians as savages who couldn t kill a cowboy, but at the end of the semester, that stereotype changed into American Indians represented as helpless people who cannot be rescued from the alcoholism and distress found on reservations. The ways the Native Americans are portrayed in these films create an image that America views Indians in today s society. In the first films viewed in class, they created the life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stagecoach represents Native Americans as noble savages, a typical Hollywood Indian in western movies. A noble savage is a racist term used to describe a character as a wild person who symbolizes the goodness of humanity. They are an outsider who has not been civilized yet. This representation of Indians is completely stereotyped and is completely inaccurate but was created for the entertainment of white audiences who watch western films. The film Stagecoach is a complete western style film with scenes of cowboys versus Indians, in which the Indians are helpless, and cowboys seem to come out of the middle of the desert (Ford, 1939). These types of western films portray the American Indians through basic stereotypes such as riding horses with bows and arrows, they are always outnumbered, and they are portrayed in a dehumanizing style. These films act as if Indians are wild animals and not as actual people. The cowboys always are the heroes and the Indians always are incapable of surviving. Due to western movies, America now has the image of the Hollywood Indian that some people still believe Indians are in today s society. The representation of Indians in Stagecoach creates a visual that Indians are impotent and not humane. American Indians are always seen as the bad guys in western films which allows today s society to use the image of Indians as costumes for Halloween and allows people to see Indians as an object and not ... Evolution Of The Middle Ages When Petrarch divided history into three periods the classical zenith, the age of cultural rot and decay, and the age in which there would be a revival of classical values and art he did so with the conviction that he was living in the middle age. This division was wholly secular, and yet Protestant leaders of the Reformation began and encouraged the study of the Middle Ages. They sought to prove that the Catholic church of the 16th century was doctrinally deviant from the church of apostolic times and pointed to the Middle Ages as the beginning of that deviance. Voltaire studied the Middle Ages in the eighteenth century to scorn its thinkers for their lack of reason a result, in his view, of their emphasis on religion. These perceptions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An era can be transitional between two other culturally dominant periods of history without being primitive or barbaric. However, the insistence on continuity and the overt rejection of a decline in the modern study of the Middle Ages has blurred the perception of the era as a distinctive period. As Edward James discusses in his article, The Rise and Function of the Concept Late Antiquity, downplaying the crises of the third century, the barbarian invasions, the fall of the western Roman Empire, and even the mid 500s Black Death may lend credence to the idea of late antiquity, but it also assumes that the problems of the West were shared by the East. In my discussion, I focused on the West, but my focus does not contradict my point that the term Middle Ages as a transitory age does not have to be a negative one for it to still be seen as distinct. The fact that the Roman Empire and the Italian Renaissance were prominent periods in the development of European culture does not negate the significance of the social, technological, and demographic development that occurred in the era between those ...
