What Is Toys R Us Inc File For Bankruptcy
The Holiday season is the most important time of the year for many retail stores, but this year Toys R
Us inc, might be spending it filing for bankruptcy. It s been reported by sources familiar with this
situation, that Toys R Us, American toy retailer founded in 1948, may file for bankruptcy as soon as
early October. The sources reported that the plans for bankruptcy are not certain, and both plans and
timing could change. The filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia was
triggered by vendors and suppliers tightening terms with the company ahead of the key holiday selling
season, which accounted for 40% of its $11.5 billion in revenue last year. Said Tatyana Shumsky, from
the Wall Street Journal. Which

The Reformation Of The Nineteenth Century
The sixteenth century is a period that will be highly remembered by many. The Catholic Church was
coming under heavy fire for its need to reform. And the Reformation acted as a catalyst for change,
bringing an unforeseen end to the influence of the Roman Catholic Church. Stemming from the
Renaissance with the growth of individualism and the scholarly search of what constituted to the
original Christianity place the church under heavy scrutiny. The sixteenth century gave rise to a
medieval church in crisis; many reformers dismissed the claims of the pope as a supreme being over
kings had spiritual authority over Western Christendom. Most theologians argued about the growing
greed of the church and the lack of educated and spiritual clergy men. The reformation which is
undeniably the dramatic event of the sixteenth century started in Germany and swiftly spread
throughout Europe. The reformation began as a result the delinquency of the church to mend its ways.
As a result of the growing problems in the Church there was starting to be a new outlook of what the
desired Church of God should model. The reformation began because of one s man bold and cunning
way to fix the problems of the church. Upon his own introspection he was growing dissatisfied with
the actions of the church and had aimed to allow the church to see the problems they were having.
Martin Luther, a German Augustinian monk, penned the Ninety Five theses. The Ninety Five theses

An Organization For A Volunteer Program
Throughout these three final weeks of the course we focused on three particular topics that
emphasised and expands on community development. These three topics were Module s 10 look at
Organizations and their Nonprofit associated organizations, Volunteerism which is taken from Module
8; that as a community developer I would argue and recommend that every organization and
institution needs to have volunteer program. The application of these above topics in an organization
can increase [Module 7 s] Entrepreneurial Leadership, which in turn impacts the Economic
Development of the community and society at large.
Let me begin with Volunteerism, Volunteering is an essential quality an organization or institution can

Coupled with this question Is the process an attempt to generate and secure public resources? The
condition is the capacity to facilitate continuous exploration and idea generation (Jelinek and Litterer,
1995, in Gupta et al., 2004 p.244). One must note that economic development is necessary for
community growth and sustainability. Development implies insights, which are purposeful and are
meant to be permanent and was said to influence community choices.
Each person who decides to volunteer, do not only contribute to the community they reside or work,
but also for the organizations who enlisted the aid of such persons. An establishment that uses

A Woman Governing Over Texas
No one would had imagined a woman governing over Texas, a state ruled by conservative white
cowboys. Ann Richards was the second woman to become the Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1990.
She became the hero of minorities, woman, gay men, and lesbians, and worked for a New Texas
where opportunities and power would be given to those groups. Ann Richards is known as the most
efficient person in a line of long Texas progressives who fought for control over Texas when the state
was a Democratic Stronghold . Her loss against Gorge W. Bush after her first term as governor, was a
strong indication that the generations of Democrats ruling Texas had ended.
Before Ann Richards made a career in politics, she had a career as a mother and wife. Ann was born in
Waco, Texas on September 1 of 1933. Waco back then was segregated, had strong religious ideas, and
its people where known as being strict conservatives. Ann met her future husband in 1949 when Ann
and David where on their senior year in Waco High. Once they graduated high school in 1950, Ann
wanted to leave Waco and follow David to Austin where David was studying to become a lawyer at
the University of Texas. Ann s mother, Eleanor, didn t seem that it was a good idea for her baby girl

education. They got married in 1953 and four years later, Ann was pregnant with her first daughter,

Ancient Chinese Ink Techniques In The 21st Century
Ancient Chinese Ink Techniques in the 21st Century.
As the paint brush dips into the paint and watching the brush the brush form perfect lines, knowing
that the art that is being created is what one is expressing. Art and design has been influencing our
lives since the dawn of the ages. Art has been created on cave walls, has been formed in architecture,
and continues to grow and expand. Art is very beautiful, but also is a matter of expression. Art can
mean many things such as love, concern, anger, desire, and politics. Two Chinese born ink artists by
the name of Zhang Daqain, and Hua Tunan have become well known traditional Chinese ink artists.
More known for his landscape designs, Zhang Daqain has incorporated splashes and pops of color in
these traditional looking drawings. Through the decades, other artists have learned traditional ink
drawings but have also developed other artistic ways to express who they are. For example, one artist,
Hua Tunan, is a young artist who has experimented with graffiti and in his favor, was a success. Both
artists are advocates for nature being their primary subjects. From mountainous ranges to flowers, to
detailed portraits of animals, these paintings bring awareness to people about the beauty on our planet.
One of Zhang s work from Art of Asian Landscapes contains bold colors just like in Hua Tunan s art
like his ink splattered tiger. Zhang Daqain and Hua tunan are both amazing artists that have created

Spiritual Development Is A Complex Journey
Spiritual development is a complex journey. And there is not one correct way to reach the end of the
process. The end goal seems simple enough be more like Jesus. But even that is not a great end goal.
No one can say, I am enough like Jesus, therefore I am done. I have made it to the goal. So, maybe the
end goal is not to be more like Jesus in and of itself, but to walk with Jesus throughout the day to day
lives that we live. To converse with Him on a continual basis. To seek to know and understand His
ways and His will for our own lives. And in doing these things, we become more like Christ. Spiritual
maturity is another hard to define concept. Literally it means that one is fully developed or perfect in
their spiritual life. It would seem that spiritual development should lead to spiritual maturity then.
Being Christ like is being spiritually mature.
This is not just a concept that someone came up with one day and decided to start spreading it around.
The Bible also points to the fact that we should be growing in our faith and walking with Christ.
Colossians 1:10 reads, walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good
work and growing in the knowledge of God. Elsewhere, in 2 Peter chapter three, it is written that we
are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The problem is, no one
seems to know the exact way to do this. There is not a one size fits all set of events that will ensure
that an individual

An Iep Meeting And Learn How The Meeting Is Conducted
I did not have a chance to sit in an IEP meeting and learn how the meeting is conducted. I am curious
to learn the counselor position in an IEP meeting. Due to the time period I started practicum, I was not
able to learn about the high school application process. When I started practicum in February, the
applications for high school were submitted. My site supervisor did not have a classroom lesson to
present while I was completing my hours. I want to learn how to conduct a classroom lesson and
connect that lesson to counseling. Finally, there were not any ACS cases occurring with a student for
me to learn about the ACS process. Because my counselor was busy showing me other counseling
duties, the topic of ACS was not mentioned. Hopefully in internship, I will be able to learn the correct
steps when calling an ACS case.
Extend To Which I Have Met My Learning Goals As stated in the section what I have learned, I have
met a couple of my learning goals. Some of the goals I met was, creating lesson plans for my groups,
demonstrating active listening, determine when to use open or close ended questions, provide useful
information of my students and being mindful of my personal biases. The hardest goal I met and
continue to practice meeting this goal is being mindful of my personal biases. I practice being mindful
by being aware of my personal biases. Usually, when I do not agree with different perspective from
mine, I make facial expression showing my disapproval. Also, I would

Gender Differences In Soccer
It has been pointed out that females are at higher risk in tearing their ACL than males using an
epidemiological approach Beck et al., (2017) insurance billing data of patients six to eighteen years of
age. The data indicated that over the past 20 years, there has seen an annual increase of 2.3% of ACL
injuries for both males and females up to the age of sixteen (Beck et al., 2017). However, Beck et al.,
(2017) proposed females had a higher injury rate than males.
Males and females contain different concentration of hormones needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
When hormones become un balanced for females the exposure and risk of rupturing their ACL

False Memory
1. Huffman Dowdell (2015, p.218) defines memory as the internal record of previous events or
experiences. Memory is a constructive process where the information is organized and shaped, while
being processed, stored and retrieved (Huffman Dowdell, 2015, p.218). Sometimes this construction
leads to errors and constructs false memories. Huffman Dowdell (2015, p.219) describes three basic
operations of memory; encoding, storage and retrieval. They define encoding as the processing the
information into the memory system. Storage is defined as retention of the information which has
been processed. And they defined retrieval as recovery of the stored information. They compared these
three operations of the memory to functioning of the computer, where the input data is first encoded,
then stored on a flash or drive and finally the information is retrived from the stored files. In order to

Roediger (2014) gives evidence for benefits of testing in his article how tests make us smarter. He
explains that appropriate use of different kinds of testing, helps students to practice the important skill
of retrieving and using knowledge. He gives an example from an assessment how well students
remembered the material they had read. First students were tested on some. Most of the students
recalled about 70 percent of the material. The students were asked to reread the other passages which
were not tested, thus by re exposing 100 percent of the ideas. The final tests were given after few days.
The passages which were tested just after reading were remembered more than those that had been
reread. He describes this improved retention after the testing as the testing effect or the retrieval
practice effect, which makes the learning and remembering strong. This article supports that testing
promotes retrieval phase. Testing involves recalling of the information from the memory, which is
defined as retrieval, thereby it promotes to store

The Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria
Introduction In what has quickly evolved into a post Al Qaeda era in the Middle East, a new threat has
emerged from the ashes of the 2003 invasion of Iraq and later in the 2011 war in Syria. The Islamic
State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) has rapidly become the most pressing foreign policy
concern in the Middle East for the United States. In the last four years, Daesh has gathered swaths of
territory in both Iraq and Syria, although it has been driven back thanks to coalition efforts to counter
the group. The coalition in place to combat ISIS has allowed the US to take a supporting role through
the use of airstrikes, military advising and intelligence sharing to the local forces on the ground.
However, major shortcomings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With divisions becoming prevalent regarding the modus operandi for AQI, Abu Omar al Baghdadi
broke off from the group to form the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI). (Hashim 2014) While both the ISI and
AQI had similar interests in combating foreign intervention and developing an Islamic caliphate in the
region, the two groups sought two different means of achieving it. In Iraq in particular, Daesh was
bolstered by a new interim Iraqi government that was particularly repressive towards the Sunni
majority, which in turn drove disillusioned Sunnis towards the extremist group. Ultimately, ISI would
expand into Syria in 2010 and splinter off from the Al Qaeda affiliated group Al Nusra, forming the
Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Since then it has expanded into parts of Jordan and Libya as well.
Current Strategy In the latest edition of the National Security Strategy, President Obama outlined his
primary objective in dealing with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. We [The US partners] are
leading a comprehensive counterterrorism strategy to degrade and ultimately defeat ISIL. At the same
time, we will continue to pursue a lasting political solution to the devastating conflict in Syria. (White
House 2015) While these represent carefully crafted talking points, the complexity of the situation is
evidently clear and the challenged of an accomplished goal is not lost. The United States

Reflection Paper On Behavior Change
My behavior change was to go to the Colvin more. When I made this choice, I thought it would go
quite well for me, considering I lived near the Colvin and I considered my class schedule to be fairly
spaced out. My goals were simple: go to the Colvin a certain amount of time by a certain date, and go
to a certain amount of dance (Tango) classes by a certain date. My rewards for completing those goals
seemed to be enough to motivate me. I was confident that I would be able to complete this behavior
change and feel better about myself and my personal health.
Although this may seem bad, the biggest accomplishment is how I was able to constantly find some
reason it anther to not go to the Colvin. I know that I lost track and really put my studies as most
important. However, there were plenty of time that I would have gone to the Colvin for at least 30
minutes, but I came up with some excuse not to go. If I could change anything, it would be to make a
greatest success to be something more positive for my behavior change. There is something that I
think is a success. I started watching what I ate, and where I ate. I started eating different portion sizes
as well. If there is one positive result from this attempted behavior change, it would be how I view my
personal health and myself.
The biggest area for future improvement will be trying to find someone to maybe encourage me more
and keep me more accountable. The person I chose to help keep me accountable was the wrong

Too Big For Britches Essay
Due to strong usage; idiomatic expressions have infiltrated people s daily conversations. One certain
idiomatic expression that is popular, primarily in the southern region of the United States, is (they) are
too big for their britches or too big for one s britches. This is a common slang or idiomatic expression
that can fit into a physical context or even fit into southern cultural groups. The idiom is also
renowned throughout history and notable history contributors who used the expression. The meaning
behind idiomatic expressions is to get an exaggerated or ironic point across in order to express a
feeling or thought that cannot be expressed and lived literally. Like the saying too big for your britches

The only way a person who is not completely familiar with the idiomatic expression does not use the
joke correctly is if they are unfamiliar with what it means. In some cases, though users who are

conceited people. There may be a bystander who is trying to hook up (this is also an idiomatic
expression) with some a random bystander who is much more attractive but then gets rejected.
Someone who may have witnessed the situation may say that the person being rejected was being too
big for his britches . This is a form of changing context situation in order for the idiom to fit in place.
Southern people in particular like to manipulate the meaning slightly so that its usage can be expanded
to different situations. Other than that change there is no prominent change or context meaning within

Votive Statue Of Gudea Essay
The Depiction of Divine Power in Votive Statue of Gudea
Votive Statue of Gudea, is one of a series of votive figures commissioned by the Sumerian ruler
Gudea, circa the year 2090 BCE . It was found in the modern city of Telloh, Iraq, formerly called
Girsu, the capital city of the ancient Sumerian city state of Lagash . The statue is carved from diorite, a
hard, dark colored stone that must have been imported to the city from other parts of the region . The
votive statue is relatively small in size, measuring only two and a half feet in height . In the sculpture,
Gudea stares directly at the viewer with large, pupil less eyes. His neck is nearly nonexistent, and his
broad shoulders and long, well defined arms are disproportionate to the statue s comparably short
torso and legs. In the artwork, Gudea is dressed in a long, smooth robe covered in cuneiform writing.
A top his head, Gudea wears a large stylized fleece hat and he holds a jug spouting water in two
streams firmly in his hands. In Votive Statue of Gudea, the artist attempts to portray Gudea s divine

Subject Matter Jurisdiction
Jurisdiction is a term that defines whether a court has the power or authority to hear and/or decide a
particular case (Schaffer, Agusti, Dhooge, 2015, p.61). Jurisdiction is important because it puts limits
on the power of a court to hear certain cases. Courts cannot possibly hear every case that is brought
before them; therefore, they must use the proper jurisdiction in order to prevent confusing and
conflicting results. There are two categories of jurisdiction: subject matter jurisdiction and personam
jurisdiction. Subject matter jurisdiction gives reference to the authority of a court to hear a particular
type of case whereas, personam jurisdiction gives reference to the courts authority over an individual
or corporation (Schaffer, Agusti, Dhooge, 2015, p.62). Federal courts hear cases from any state as well
as some cases where there is one party outside of the United States; however, they are only allowed to
hear cases where federal jurisdiction can be established. This basically means that the court must have
subject matter jurisdiction of the suit as well as personal jurisdiction over the involved parties
(personam jurisdiction). General jurisdiction may be present when a court has jurisdiction over a
defendant in that state regardless of the kind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

increasingly recognized. Whistle blowing statutes protect from discharge or discrimination an

Many states have enacted whistle blower statutes, but these statutes vary widely in coverage. Some

As a fast food eater, we are chained in the darkness of the cave and we do not want to accept the
reality of how negative fast food has on us. To the back of the prisoners, lie the puppeteers who are
casting the shadows on the wall, which the prisoners perceive as reality. The puppeteers are the
marketing team of the fast food industry. They utilize many different marketing strategies to reel in
customers. For example, the puppeteers targets children as their marketing strategy. The kids would
nag and whine to their parents to go get that Happy Meal from McDonald s because of that toy. These
kids continue to be prisoners of fast food, lifetime purchasers of McDonald s. As Socrates described
the cave and the situation of the prisoners, he conveys the point that the prisoners would be
fundamentally mistaken as to what is reality. Because we know that the puppeteers behind them are
using objects to liken the shadow. We all know that McDonald s is not good for our health, but those
that have kids continue to go to McDonald s at least once every now and then because their child
nagged about wanting to go there. Fast Food Nation could definitely be analyzed in the context of

The Democracy Of A Democratic Government
A democratic government is one in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by
them directly or indirectly through a system of representation (Merriam Webster). In theory, a true
democracy is one that is governed by the people in the form of the rule of the majority . This is a
process that seems to have been naturally embedded in the human mind. In many circumstance,
whether it is world leaders deciding on new international policy, or kids choosing what to watch for
movie night , the rule of the majority seems to often prevail. Even so, in certain recognized democratic
nations such as Canada, the rule of the majority is not triumphant. It is inevitable that any political
system would have its shortcomings, but there are some flaws that are difficult to overlook especially
those that seem to undermine the democratic credibility of a nation. Due to a variety of factors, such
as politically inactive citizens and a not so representative electoral system, it is evident that the
Canadian democracy is lacking democracy.
By international standards, the Canadian democratic system is considered healthy; Canada regularly
receives the maximum score on global assessments of civil liberties, political rights and overall quality
of democracy. (Gidengil 2014, pg.3). For some, an evaluation like this is the only thing needed to be
convinced that the democracy in this country is sound. Unfortunately, such assessments merely
analyze the system from a distance,

Examples Of Censorship In America Today
Censorship is one of the most controversial topics in America today. It provides rules or discipline for
new technology. It covers music, video games, movies, plays, and the internet. Censorship is all
around us, but how has it affected our nation as a whole? Censorship is the suppression of words,
images, or ideas that are offensive, happens whenever some people succeed in imposing their personal
political or moral values on others. Censorship has existed in ancient societies, and was made to
prevent the wrong audiences from seeing things that were to mature. One of the most famous
examples was in 399BC when the philosopher Socrates was sentenced to drink poison for his
corruption of youth and his acknowledgement of unorthodox divinities. Another example is during the
15th century when the printing press was created, certain books or writings were not allowed to be ...

Today however it has become more controversial as new music and movies are coming to light. Some
disagree with the lyrics that are being said. An example is in 1988 when the music group N.W.A
released their 2nd album which featured the song F*** the Police. This song spread across the nation
and raised some eyebrows. While on tour the group was told by California police to not perform the
song at the next concert, however the group performed the song the police fired up the building and
the whole group was taken into custody. Many believed that the music was inappropriate and crossing
the line, but their lyrics expressed what their life was like in Compton. This is just one example of
how people think censorship should have even more of an effect on everyday life. Though the song
offended the police it was made to show the discrimination they had faced as individuals. Many did
not agree, but the group believed it was their God given right to express their beliefs and opinions

Politics In The Quiet Revolution
The Quiet Revolution is characterized as the events that took place in Quebec following the death of
Quebec s conservative Premier Maurice Duplessis in 1959 and the election of Jean Lesage and his
Liberals the following year. The era marked a period of unprecedented political and social change for
the province and also the development of the Quebecois identity. Under Lesage, the Laissez Faire
ideology, dominant from 1945 to 1960, gave way to energetic activism. Government action became
the response to internal conflicts and provincial control was extended over many industries that were
previously privately owned. Alongside with these rapid changes in the structure and responsibilities of
Quebec s government, the notion grew that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

general public... and contribute [its own] initiatives and views...to the general awareness with regards

former Ontario Premier John Robarts, the Task Force held more than 15 major public hearings from
one end of the country to the other in an attempt to gather the opinions of Canadian citizens regarding
the sovereignty movement in Quebec and the state of Canadian nationalism. From that information, its
goal was to not only publicize the efforts being made to solve the problems addressed in the public
hearings, but also advise the federal government on how to strengthen national unity and consequently
abate the Quebec sovereignty movement. The sum total of the efforts made by the Task Force

Violating Social Norms In American Culture
In sociology, the term norms can be described by a set of objectives where someone does to another
person in a society that is normal to do in a culture or a country. There are many variants of types of
norms in different countries, depending on what you are located has different norms. Just like shaking
somebody s hand, or making eye contact while talking to another person is proper etiquette in the
American culture. In other countries like Vietnam, it is disrespectful to touch someone s shoulder
while talking to them. In American culture, that is allowed because we see it as a respectful
interaction. An example of violating a social norm is, how president Trump expresses himself and
what he is thinking of each major topic, whether it is the election or ... Show more content on

He finds ways to exempt himself from the public through social media. He expresses everything to the
world, not just the positives. As the president, he is supposed to be a protector of the country but
people on social media portrays him as a threat to the country we live in. The norms in this article that
should be followed is expressing how good the United States is while also doing it with class. There
are no downing other countries with negative language. President Trump being on social media is the
opposite of what that norm is supposed to be done. Throughout the article, it shows that Trump on
social media is provoking countries like North Korea. I spoke with President Moon of South Korea
last night. Asked him how Rocket Man is doing, (King, paragraph 8). He wants to provoke and make
fun of another political leader in North Korea s dictator, Kim Jong Un. Basically, Trump wants to see

Skin Tone Test Results
Of the selective chooses I chose to take the Skin Tone test and I was kind of shock with my results.
My results read that I had a moderate automatic preference for Light Skinned People over Dark
Skinned people. I believe due to the way they had separated the words that meant bad, or good, was
what deteriated my results. However, I don t really know how to feel about the results, but, I think the
results turned out that way based on what my skin complexion is. Since in comparison with different
skin colors my color is known to be in between light and dark skinned. My complexion is more of a
fair toned brown skin complexion so I took my results based on my own instead of the other visuals
being shown in the test. Personally, I look at all skin

Say Anything Gender Stereotypes
Say Anything, directed by Cameron Crowe is a romantic comedy from the late 1980s. It presents the
development of a highschool relationship between a burnout and the class valedictorian. While filled
with lighthearted humor, the film carries a deeper message when he context of society is taken into
account. Say Anything challenges gender stereotypes, societal standards for young people, and
relationship dynamics. Lloyd is presented externally as an incredibly pedestrian character in the film.
This has the effect of making him rather unique, however, as he is compared to the excellence of
Diane. While he has no striking characteristics, his friendly demeanor, unconventional insights,
mysterious trench coat, and matter of fact personality make him stand out. In particular, his heart ...

This is shown with Diane and her father. Her father clearly does not have a clean conscience, yet he
believes that his way is justified and correct. Diane realizes that her father is misguided upon critical
review of the situation. This disillusionment with old society society established prior to the newest
generation is very common in young people. They realize that the accepted normal is reprehensible
and needs to change. Meanwhile, old society has a difficult time seeing the flaws in their ways or
changing. Jim Court is a symbol for all of old society, trying to justify his transgressions and
ultimately failing to change his ways as evidenced by the scene at the prison. Diane Court giving him
the pen was symbolic of her moving on into her own life, rejecting the ideas of old society. This idea
is not only challenging old people to look at how set in their beliefs they have become, but also
challenging young people to make changes in their own lives so that they do not succumb to the
problematic nature of the old

Chrysanthemum Figurative Language
Chrysanthemum loved her name. It was, as her parents put it, Absolutely perfect , but then she started
school. The book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes is a children s book that follows the journey of a
young mouse named Chrysanthemum. It leaves readers of all ages with the important and relevant
message of don t let what others think get you down . Henkes executed this theme throughout the
book well with his use of imagery, figurative language, and diction. So well in fact, that the morals of
this story have stuck with me since I read the book myself when I was very young. Chrysanthemum is
teased in school because her name is too long, because it scarcely fits on her name tag , and because
she is named after a flower. She feels terrible even

Stand Alone Essay General blk 7 Discuss how residential schools have impacted the aboriginals? In
the article titled, Residential Schools and Aboriginal Parenting: Voices of Parents , Jean Lafrance and
Collins elaborate that residential schools have compromised aboriginal family systems, eradicated
aboriginal cultures, and led to inequity. The effect[s] that residential schools had on aboriginal parent s
parenting are thoroughly evident in the passage. Predominantly, aboriginal children were treated badly
right from the beginning. In residential schools, aboriginal children could not gain any care from their
parents and, as a result, they lost attachment. Specifically, Lafrance and Collins clarify that None of

John Henry Livingston Influence On Religion
Besides being known as the Father of the Reformed Church in America, the resolver of the Coetus vs.
Conferentie dispute, the instituter of the Union of Articles to provide education for colonial clergy, and
the founder of New Brunswick Theological Seminary, John Henry Livingston is also known as the
father of the modern missionary movement (By Grace Alone, 81). Livingston helped a young RCA
denomination establish itself and wade through some challenging theological positions (The Dutch
Reformed Church in the American Colonies, 207 209). During Livingston s time, it was the middle of
the Second Great Awakening and an evangelical pietism was filling the churches across the colonial
seafront (Word and World, 16 17). Livingston, too, resonated with this individualism since he found ...

Being far more consistent than Frelinghuysen, Livingston espoused millennial views which echo a
hope that Christians can bring the return of Christ before the year 2000 (A People in Mission, 1 8).
Livingston, in his 1804 sermon The Everlasting Gospel, preaches on the Great Fall of Babylon and the
apocalyptic doom that could follow. By proselytizing to the world the good news of the Gospel, this
apocalypticism can be avoided. Livingston believed that once the entire globe heard the Gospel, the
church would enter into the millennial reign (Word and World, 18). Livingston, in his sermon, goes so
far as to say that it is the Christian s duty to live out the Great Commission to foreign lands. But the
millennial reign will come about if the church is not being pious; therefore, the church must stress
moral and social order essential piety so that Jesus will return (Word and World, 112 113). Livingston
is known for believing America to be a City on a Hill which, in her pious wisdom, could oversee all

James Frey s Rehabilitation Journey
The beginning of James Frey s rehabilitation journey began when he was twenty three. His family
brought him to one of the best treatment facilities in the world (Frey, 2003). This was only after he
was put on a plan with no recollection of how he came to be the bloody mess that he was and how he
got to the plan. He knows that if he does not except help now that there might be a real chance that he
may not live much longer. This is because he can no longer control his abusive tendencies (Frey,
2003). James Frey overall seemed to be a very stubborn individual and did not want to follow the
rules. The rehabilitation facility had very few strict rules. One at which being, to not talk to others of
the opposite sex. James defied this his very first night in the facility. This only became worse when he
began a relationship with same girl. James wanted to move forward and get better, but he continually
reminded himself that he would not be able to do it. It was only over time that James did change and
truly wanted to get sober (Frey, 2003). It is possible that James Frey lacked the ability to cope with
reality, this could be the reason why he had turned to the use of drugs in the first place. He would use
just about anything, if it were present. While in treatment, James had to relearn how to live his live
without the use of drugs. He had suffered from Learned Helplessness, which was clearly seen when
we first were introduced to James. Frey also had no self efficacy, he

Sustainability And Discredit Arguments For Space Exploration
I am writing this paper to claim that space exploration is a huge waste of resources and we should
focus our efforts on the sustainability of the Earth. I plan to explore the benefits of sustainability and
discredit arguments for space exploration. Sustainability is the more realistic and feasible choice. A
very popular argument for space exploration is to protect our Earth that we have managed to almost
destroy, by finding another planet to retreat to. Many people believe the only option is to spend
billions of dollars, that we do not necessarily have, into space exploration. It is said that there are
Earth like planets that would potentially be able to support life. People believe space exploration is
necessary for long term survival. It is a popular concept that something drastic will happen to Earth,
weather it be caused by man or natural disaster. Basic facts state that if we continue treating Earth the
way we do, Earth will not be able to support human life and will be rendered uninhabitable. With the
information that I and billions of other believe to be legitimate many people jump to space exploration
as the only answer. A popular concept is terraforming. Terraforming is the process of transforming a
hostile environment into one suitable for human life. Being that Mars is the most Earth like planet in
our solar system, it is the best candidate for terraforming. It is believed that terraforming any planet
would take centuries for just the initial steps, and much

The Importance Of The Miranda Warnings
Miranda warnings are not required due to the factor that John wasn t being asked any questions at the
time that he was making self incriminating statements. John was in custody, the legal concept of
custody exists when a suspect perceives that he is not free to leave an immediate area (Reid, 2010).
John wasn t advised of the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives individuals the right
to refuse to answer any questions or make any statements (Fifth Amendement Right Against Self
Incrimination, 2009). This was completely legal due to the factor that John wasn t being interviewed
at the time of arrest. It is popular belief that the Miranda warnings as seen on television have to be
read directly after arrest; however, the Miranda warnings are required if a person is in custody
(deprived of his or her freedom in any significant way), the police must give a Miranda warning prior
to questioning the suspect and use the suspect (Police Questioning: When Mirnada Warnings Are
Required, 2010). The simple equation for Miranda warning is custody + interrogation = the
requirement for Miranda warnings (Petrocelli, 2010). According to Petrocelli (2010), voluntary
statements are not subject to Miranda warnings, so an officer need not stop a suspect from making
incriminating voluntary statements. If the police officers were asking him questions during the time of
arrest the whole scenario would have changed and the Miranda warnings would be required due to the
factor that

Bobby Rigg Research Paper
The Battle of the Sexes ended with Bobby Riggs s evisceration by Billie Jean King in three straight
sets, 6 4, 6 3, and 6 3. As Billie Jean King said in an interview preceding the match, without women s
tennis really making a name for itself, there was no way in the world that we could ve had a $100,000
winner takes all match, such as we re having now. The gains of the women s equality movement
allowed for the Battle of the Sexes to become the spectacle that it was. If Billie Jean King or even
Margaret Court had played Bobby Riggs, and beaten him originally, they wouldn t have been able to
prove that women were equal to men. However, due to the immense following and popularity of this
match, King s win made an important statement to the tennis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the end, both King and Riggs had won. King and women s tennis had made money from [Riggs],
and Riggs had made money from the match. Nonetheless, the outcome of this match did not ultimately
change tennis. Though the match brought awareness to the disparities between men s and women s
tennis, little was truly done to change the situation. It took 28 years for a grand slam, excluding the US
Open, to regularly award equal prize money to both men and women, and still more time for the rest
to follow in suit. While tennis is progressive in comparison to other sports in its implementation of
equal prize money to both genders, disparities still exist. Men and women still do not receive the same
pay for playing. It can be argued that Serena Williams, the number one ranked women s player, is
currently one of the most famous tennis players, yet she receives a little over half the pay of the
number one ranked men s player. Despite this, female athletes have not given up on the fight for
equality. The recent awareness brought to wage discrimination in sports through the US women s
soccer team has allowed for discussions surrounding the disparities between women s and men s

It s been reported by sources familiar with this situation, that Toys R Us, American toy retailer founded in 1948, may file for bankruptcy as soon as early October. The sources reported that the plans for bankruptcy are not certain, and both plans and timing could change. • 3. The Reformation Of The Nineteenth Century The sixteenth century is a period that will be highly remembered by many. The Catholic Church was coming under heavy fire for its need to reform. And the Reformation acted as a catalyst for change, bringing an unforeseen end to the influence of the Roman Catholic Church. Stemming from the Renaissance with the growth of individualism and the scholarly search of what constituted to the original Christianity place the church under heavy scrutiny. The sixteenth century gave rise to a medieval church in crisis; many reformers dismissed the claims of the pope as a supreme being over kings had spiritual authority over Western Christendom. Most theologians argued about the growing greed of the church and the lack of educated and spiritual clergy men. The reformation which is undeniably the dramatic event of the sixteenth century started in Germany and swiftly spread throughout Europe. The reformation began as a result the delinquency of the church to mend its ways. As a result of the growing problems in the Church there was starting to be a new outlook of what the desired Church of God should model. The reformation began because of one s man bold and cunning way to fix the problems of the church. Upon his own introspection he was growing dissatisfied with the actions of the church and had aimed to allow the church to see the problems they were having. Martin Luther, a German Augustinian monk, penned the Ninety Five theses. The Ninety Five theses explicitly expressed his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ann Richards was the second woman to become the Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1990. She became the hero of minorities, woman, gay men, and lesbians, and worked for a New Texas where opportunities and power would be given to those groups. Ann Richards is known as the most efficient person in a line of long Texas progressives who fought for control over Texas when the state was a Democratic Stronghold . Her loss against Gorge W. Bush after her first term as governor, was a strong indication that the generations of Democrats ruling Texas had ended. Before Ann Richards made a career in politics, she had a career as a mother and wife. Ann was born in Waco, Texas on September 1 of 1933. Waco back then was segregated, had strong religious ideas, and its people where known as being strict conservatives. As the paint brush dips into the paint and watching the brush the brush form perfect lines, knowing that the art that is being created is what one is expressing. Art and design has been influencing our lives since the dawn of the ages. Art has been created on cave walls, has been formed in architecture, and continues to grow and expand. Art is very beautiful, but also is a matter of expression. Art can mean many things such as love, concern, anger, desire, and politics. Two Chinese born ink artists by the name of Zhang Daqain, and Hua Tunan have become well known traditional Chinese ink artists. More known for his landscape designs, Zhang Daqain has incorporated splashes and pops of color in these traditional looking drawings. Through the decades, other artists have learned traditional ink drawings but have also developed other artistic ways to express who they are. For example, one artist, Hua Tunan, is a young artist who has experimented with graffiti and in his favor, was a success. Both artists are advocates for nature being their primary subjects. From mountainous ranges to flowers, to detailed portraits of animals, these paintings bring awareness to people about the beauty on our planet. • 8. Spiritual Development Is A Complex Journey Spiritual development is a complex journey. And there is not one correct way to reach the end of the process. The end goal seems simple enough be more like Jesus. But even that is not a great end goal. No one can say, I am enough like Jesus, therefore I am done. I have made it to the goal. So, maybe the end goal is not to be more like Jesus in and of itself, but to walk with Jesus throughout the day to day lives that we live. To converse with Him on a continual basis. To seek to know and understand His ways and His will for our own lives. And in doing these things, we become more like Christ. Spiritual maturity is another hard to define concept. Literally it means that one is fully developed or perfect in their spiritual life. It would seem that spiritual development should lead to spiritual maturity then. Being Christ like is being spiritually mature. This is not just a concept that someone came up with one day and decided to start spreading it around. The Bible also points to the fact that we should be growing in our faith and walking with Christ. Colossians 1:10 reads, walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. Elsewhere, in 2 Peter chapter three, it is written that we are to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The problem is, no one seems to know the exact way to do this. There is not a one size fits all set of events that will ensure that an individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I am curious to learn the counselor position in an IEP meeting. Due to the time period I started practicum, I was not able to learn about the high school application process. When I started practicum in February, the applications for high school were submitted. My site supervisor did not have a classroom lesson to present while I was completing my hours. I want to learn how to conduct a classroom lesson and connect that lesson to counseling. Finally, there were not any ACS cases occurring with a student for me to learn about the ACS process. Because my counselor was busy showing me other counseling duties, the topic of ACS was not mentioned. Hopefully in internship, I will be able to learn the correct steps when calling an ACS case. Some of the goals I met was, creating lesson plans for my groups, demonstrating active listening, determine when to use open or close ended questions, provide useful information of my students and being mindful of my personal biases. • 11. False Memory 1. Huffman Dowdell (2015, p.218) defines memory as the internal record of previous events or experiences. Memory is a constructive process where the information is organized and shaped, while being processed, stored and retrieved (Huffman Dowdell, 2015, p.218). Sometimes this construction leads to errors and constructs false memories. Huffman Dowdell (2015, p.219) describes three basic operations of memory; encoding, storage and retrieval. They define encoding as the processing the information into the memory system. Storage is defined as retention of the information which has been processed. And they defined retrieval as recovery of the stored information. They compared these three operations of the memory to functioning of the computer, where the input data is first encoded, then stored on a flash or drive and finally the information is retrived from the stored files. The passages which were tested just after reading were remembered more than those that had been reread. The Islamic State Of Iraq And Syria Introduction In what has quickly evolved into a post Al Qaeda era in the Middle East, a new threat has emerged from the ashes of the 2003 invasion of Iraq and later in the 2011 war in Syria. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, ISIL or Daesh) has rapidly become the most pressing foreign policy concern in the Middle East for the United States. In the last four years, Daesh has gathered swaths of territory in both Iraq and Syria, although it has been driven back thanks to coalition efforts to counter the group. The coalition in place to combat ISIS has allowed the US to take a supporting role through the use of airstrikes, military advising and intelligence sharing to the local forces on the ground. However, major shortcomings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With divisions becoming prevalent regarding the modus operandi for AQI, Abu Omar al Baghdadi broke off from the group to form the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI). (Hashim 2014) While both the ISI and AQI had similar interests in combating foreign intervention and developing an Islamic caliphate in the region, the two groups sought two different means of achieving it. In Iraq in particular, Daesh was bolstered by a new interim Iraqi government that was particularly repressive towards the Sunni majority, which in turn drove disillusioned Sunnis towards the extremist group. Ultimately, ISI would expand into Syria in 2010 and splinter off from the Al Qaeda affiliated group Al Nusra, forming the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Since then it has expanded into parts of Jordan and Libya as well. Current Strategy In the latest edition of the National Security Strategy, President Obama outlined his primary objective in dealing with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. We [The US partners] are leading a comprehensive counterterrorism strategy to degrade and ultimately defeat ISIL. At the same time, we will continue to pursue a lasting political solution to the devastating conflict in Syria. When I made this choice, I thought it would go quite well for me, considering I lived near the Colvin and I considered my class schedule to be fairly spaced out. My goals were simple: go to the Colvin a certain amount of time by a certain date, and go to a certain amount of dance (Tango) classes by a certain date. My rewards for completing those goals seemed to be enough to motivate me. I was confident that I would be able to complete this behavior change and feel better about myself and my personal health. Although this may seem bad, the biggest accomplishment is how I was able to constantly find some reason it anther to not go to the Colvin. I know that I lost track and really put my studies as most important. However, there were plenty of time that I would have gone to the Colvin for at least 30 minutes, but I came up with some excuse not to go. If I could change anything, it would be to make a greatest success to be something more positive for my behavior change. There is something that I think is a success. I started watching what I ate, and where I ate. I started eating different portion sizes as well. If there is one positive result from this attempted behavior change, it would be how I view my personal health and myself. One certain idiomatic expression that is popular, primarily in the southern region of the United States, is (they) are too big for their britches or too big for one s britches. This is a common slang or idiomatic expression that can fit into a physical context or even fit into southern cultural groups. The idiom is also renowned throughout history and notable history contributors who used the expression. The meaning behind idiomatic expressions is to get an exaggerated or ironic point across in order to express a feeling or thought that cannot be expressed and lived literally. There may be a bystander who is trying to hook up (this is also an idiomatic expression) with some a random bystander who is much more attractive but then gets rejected. Someone who may have witnessed the situation may say that the person being rejected was being too big for his britches . This is a form of changing context situation in order for the idiom to fit in place. Southern people in particular like to manipulate the meaning slightly so that its usage can be expanded to different situations. • 18. Votive Statue Of Gudea Essay The Depiction of Divine Power in Votive Statue of Gudea Votive Statue of Gudea, is one of a series of votive figures commissioned by the Sumerian ruler Gudea, circa the year 2090 BCE . It was found in the modern city of Telloh, Iraq, formerly called Girsu, the capital city of the ancient Sumerian city state of Lagash . The statue is carved from diorite, a hard, dark colored stone that must have been imported to the city from other parts of the region . The votive statue is relatively small in size, measuring only two and a half feet in height . In the sculpture, Gudea stares directly at the viewer with large, pupil less eyes. His neck is nearly nonexistent, and his broad shoulders and long, well defined arms are disproportionate to the statue s comparably short torso and legs. In the artwork, Gudea is dressed in a long, smooth robe covered in cuneiform writing. A top his head, Gudea wears a large stylized fleece hat and he holds a jug spouting water in two streams firmly in his hands. • 19. Subject Matter Jurisdiction Jurisdiction is a term that defines whether a court has the power or authority to hear and/or decide a particular case (Schaffer, Agusti, Dhooge, 2015, p.61). Jurisdiction is important because it puts limits on the power of a court to hear certain cases. Courts cannot possibly hear every case that is brought before them; therefore, they must use the proper jurisdiction in order to prevent confusing and conflicting results. There are two categories of jurisdiction: subject matter jurisdiction and personam jurisdiction. Subject matter jurisdiction gives reference to the authority of a court to hear a particular type of case whereas, personam jurisdiction gives reference to the courts authority over an individual or corporation (Schaffer, Agusti, Dhooge, 2015, p.62). Federal courts hear cases from any state as well as some cases where there is one party outside of the United States; however, they are only allowed to hear cases where federal jurisdiction can be established. This basically means that the court must have subject matter jurisdiction of the suit as well as personal jurisdiction over the involved parties (personam jurisdiction). They utilize many different marketing strategies to reel in customers. For example, the puppeteers targets children as their marketing strategy. The kids would nag and whine to their parents to go get that Happy Meal from McDonald s because of that toy. These kids continue to be prisoners of fast food, lifetime purchasers of McDonald s. The Democracy Of A Democratic Government A democratic government is one in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation (Merriam Webster). In theory, a true democracy is one that is governed by the people in the form of the rule of the majority . This is a process that seems to have been naturally embedded in the human mind. In many circumstance, whether it is world leaders deciding on new international policy, or kids choosing what to watch for movie night , the rule of the majority seems to often prevail. Even so, in certain recognized democratic nations such as Canada, the rule of the majority is not triumphant. It is inevitable that any political system would have its shortcomings, but there are some flaws that are difficult to overlook especially those that seem to undermine the democratic credibility of a nation. Due to a variety of factors, such as politically inactive citizens and a not so representative electoral system, it is evident that the Canadian democracy is lacking democracy. By international standards, the Canadian democratic system is considered healthy; Canada regularly receives the maximum score on global assessments of civil liberties, political rights and overall quality of democracy. (Gidengil 2014, pg.3). For some, an evaluation like this is the only thing needed to be convinced that the democracy in this country is sound. • 22. Examples Of Censorship In America Today Censorship is one of the most controversial topics in America today. It provides rules or discipline for new technology. It covers music, video games, movies, plays, and the internet. Censorship is all around us, but how has it affected our nation as a whole? Censorship is the suppression of words, images, or ideas that are offensive, happens whenever some people succeed in imposing their personal political or moral values on others. Censorship has existed in ancient societies, and was made to prevent the wrong audiences from seeing things that were to mature. One of the most famous examples was in 399BC when the philosopher Socrates was sentenced to drink poison for his corruption of youth and his acknowledgement of unorthodox divinities. He knows that if he does not except help now that there might be a real chance that he may not live much longer. This is because he can no longer control his abusive tendencies (Frey, 2003). James Frey overall seemed to be a very stubborn individual and did not want to follow the rules. The rehabilitation facility had very few strict rules. Sustainability And Discredit Arguments For Space Exploration I am writing this paper to claim that space exploration is a huge waste of resources and we should focus our efforts on the sustainability of the Earth. I plan to explore the benefits of sustainability and discredit arguments for space exploration. Sustainability is the more realistic and feasible choice. A very popular argument for space exploration is to protect our Earth that we have managed to almost destroy, by finding another planet to retreat to. Many people believe the only option is to spend billions of dollars, that we do not necessarily have, into space exploration. It is said that there are Earth like planets that would potentially be able to support life. People believe space exploration is necessary for long term survival. It is a popular concept that something drastic will happen to Earth, weather it be caused by man or natural disaster. Basic facts state that if we continue treating Earth the way we do, Earth will not be able to support human life and will be rendered uninhabitable. With the information that I and billions of other believe to be legitimate many people jump to space exploration as the only answer. A popular concept is terraforming. Terraforming is the process of transforming a hostile environment into one suitable for human life. Being that Mars is the most Earth like planet in our solar system, it is the best candidate for terraforming. The Importance Of The Miranda Warnings Miranda warnings are not required due to the factor that John wasn t being asked any questions at the time that he was making self incriminating statements. John was in custody, the legal concept of custody exists when a suspect perceives that he is not free to leave an immediate area (Reid, 2010). John wasn t advised of the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which gives individuals the right to refuse to answer any questions or make any statements (Fifth Amendement Right Against Self Incrimination, 2009). This was completely legal due to the factor that John wasn t being interviewed at the time of arrest. It is popular belief that the Miranda warnings as seen on television have to be read directly after arrest; however, the Miranda warnings are required if a person is in custody (deprived of his or her freedom in any significant way), the police must give a Miranda warning prior to questioning the suspect and use the suspect (Police Questioning: When Mirnada Warnings Are Required, 2010). The simple equation for Miranda warning is custody + interrogation = the requirement for Miranda warnings (Petrocelli, 2010). According to Petrocelli (2010), voluntary statements are not subject to Miranda warnings, so an officer need not stop a suspect from making incriminating voluntary statements. If the police officers were asking him questions during the time of arrest the whole scenario would have changed and the Miranda warnings would be required due to the factor that ...
