Empirical Formula Of Magnesium And Oxygen
Empirical Formula Of Magnesium Oxide
The goal of the assignment was to determine the empirical formula based on the reaction of
Magnesium and oxygen.
Empirical Formula is a calculation to find the lowest whole number ratio of elements within a
compound. To find the empirical formula, first the student must assume that the total mass is 100g for
each element if the problem given is a percentage, then convert mass to moles, after that, divide each
mole by the lowest value of moles calculated, and finally round all the numbers to the nearest whole
number. For this experiment, Magnesium and oxygen were used as our elements. To follow the
experiment s instructions the student needs to use measurements like mass (body of matter without

My hypothesis of The reaction of Magnesium and oxygen should leave the empirical formula of MgO
was not supported because the data had a specific ratio of 6 61.
There could be a couple real errors in the experiment. One is that when you are supposed to clean the
metal piece, it could not clean it perfectly which will affect your data. It will affect your data because
it could add weight to the measurements and specific weight is key for empirical formula. Another real
error could be not having enough time to finish your experiment and that could affect your data
because you need time for the crucible to cool down in between measurements and weighing. To
improve the experiment, one should wear gloves so they do not dirty the mg with their fingers and
limit the exposure the mg has with fingers (not wearing gloves). To improve the time error, one should
calculate how much time is needed for the crucible to cool down by finding a period of time when you
can work for an extended period of time without having unrelated

A Doll s House Review Essay
A Doll s House Review A Doll s House was published in Norway in 1879 by Henrik Isben. He is
known as the father of Modern Theatre. He is also referred as the father of realism. The play is very
interesting because of the funny dialogue, the unique characters, and Ibsen s view of the place of
ladies in the public eye. The main characters of the play is Nora Helmer and her husband Torvald
Helmer. Imagine what it would be like to live in a doll s home? It s a house in which you are
controlled and have no energy to settle on any solid choice; It s a house in which you are a play thing
for another person s amusement. This sounds a ton like an awful marriage, so it s a house in which
your husband holds the satchel strings, in a manner of speaking, and abandons you with no influence
over your family s accounts. In fact, your husband keeps you on a tightrope. Such is the perceived life
of Nora Helmer. A Doll s House is an example of a literacy work with numeral possible themes. The
idea of the play is an expression of the need for women to escape from the confinement and restriction
that they faced in nineteenth century European society, it is supported by the condescending manner in
which Torvald treats Nora and by his frequent references to the respective value of men and women.
Another theme is in order for a marriage to be successful, the people involved should know and trust
each other, show view each other as

Case Study Of Cyanide
A BRIEF STUDY ABOUT THE MATERIALIZATION AND TOXICOLOGICAL PROFILE OF
CYANIDE
I. Overview
Problem Statement
The purpose of the research is to determine chemical and physical properties of cyanide, to know its
applications, and its primary effects to the human body.
Introduction
The incident about the death of a customer and the owner himself who consumed milk teas from a
stall called ErgoCha has circulated the news and has spread all over the country. According to some
articles, the customers said that the milk tea from the said stall along Bustillos Street in Sampaloc,
Manila tasted different. Consequently, the owner also tasted the product to prove that the product is no
different to what they have been serving. To their surprise, both ... Show more content on

It can be used in many applications such as making paper and extracting gold. However, it can be also
be fatal to the human body. Concretely, cyanide poisoning can bring abnormalities like seizures up to
cardiac arrests. The chemical compound is generally reactive, and can kill people in minutes. In this
research, the properties and effects will be discussed through definition and previous applications
involving the topic.
II. Presentation of Research
Definition
Cyanide is relatively every chemical compound that has monovalent combining cyano group. CN
group is made out of a carbon atom triple bonded to a nitrogen atom. This chemical compound is
monovalent since it is able to form only one covalent bond.
A cyanide molecule also has a strong tendency to bind with other atoms or compounds, yielding a
variety of different products. The type of atom or compound to which the cyanide molecule bonds
determines the properties and toxicity of the resulting product.
There are two kinds of cyanide: organic and inorganic. Organic cyanides are typically called nitriles.
Here, the CN group is linked by a covalent bond to a carbon containing group. Inorganic cyanide on
the other hand is a negatively charged polyatomic ion. These kinds of cyanide are considered as the
salts of hydrocyanic acid which are highly toxic.

Balance of Payment
BALANCE OF PAYMENT (BOP)
Introduction:
Balance of payments (BOP) is a record of economic transitions between the residents of one country
and the rest of the world during one year. The balance of payment like all balance sheets must balance.
The items, which lead to, an inflow of foreign earnings are placed on the credit side of the balance
sheet, whereas the items, which give, rise to an outflow of foreign currency are placed on the debit
side.
Definition:
Balance of payment is a systematic record of a nation s total payments to foreign countries, including
the price of imports, the outflow of capital and gold, and the total receipts from abroad, including the
price of exports and the inflow of capital and gold.

* Less Production of Value Added Goods
The share of industry in the GDP is 25.8 %. The production of value added goods is at basic stage in
Pakistan that leads to adverse BOP. * Devaluation
The repeated devaluation of rupee against US dollar has not helped in the increase of exports. The
demand for our goods in the international market is elastic. As such, due to devaluation, as tool for
boosting, exports are not effective. * Tough Competition Stiff competition in the foreign market
particularly of our value added goods has reduced the volume of foreign trade in Pakistan. It causes
reduction in exports, which result in deficit in BOP. * Increase in Prices of Inputs
The inflationary impact of the rise in the prices of inputs are not helping in achieving the export
targets set in each financial year. * Anti dumping Duties
Japan, Hong Kong and some other nations imposed antidumping duties on our cotton yarn, fabric and
bed linen. Such types of duties on our exportable goods are also a big hurdle in the way of our exports.
* 10. Technical Barriers
Pakistan will have to upgrade the standard of purity and quality to compete for its products in the
international market. * Political Uncertainty
The political uncertainties in the industrial units have considerably affected

The Golden Age Of Hollywood
From 1920s, Hollywood became one of the most notable businesses in America. The great
development of film technology and those countless creative ideas put most of the Americans into a
feeding frenzy. However, the golden age of Hollywood experienced the impact of World War II, which
led to the significant changes in film industry. At the beginning of 1960s, European film industry
gradually moved its focus to creativity and aesthetics, and the auteur theory gained more and more
attention. American films were also influenced by these European art films. Due to the development of
video filming technology, it was easier and cheaper to shoot and produce works, so that more young
people became able to show their ideas and do independent films. ... Show more content on

Although it is because of his love to Holly, all the things he does to the guiltless father shows his
violent and remorseless characteristic, which is quite different from the traditional hero in a teen film.
The whole story is based on a real life murder spree of Charles Starkweather and his girlfriend. To
follow Starkweather s action, Kit also kills three bounty hunters, his friend Cato and an innocent
teenage couple who just arrive to visit Cato. It seems that killing people is his way to solve problems.
Compared to Badlands, Kit s idol Jim Stark still shows sympathy to his best friend Plato, and tries to
protect Plato until the end. The title Rebel without a cause may be even more suitable to describe Kit s
action that the film does not set a clear conflict between him and the real world. What Kit mainly does
is dresses a white T shirt, jeans and boots to look like James Dean, and imitates some rebellious
actions. Holly proves the reason for falling love with him in her voice over at the beginning, He
looked just like James Dean (Brickman 2014). The initial attraction of Kit is basically due to the
imagination of a dream lover from a simple and pure 15 year old girl. After a period of killing and
escaping, Holly pays less and less attention on Kit, and she starts to refuse Kit s crazy rebel, which
proves that Kit himself is not an engaging character. Furthermore, as

Siblings In The Film, The Crow Indian Brothers
On June 27, 1978, two Crow Indian brothers, Bobby and Tyler were killed by a 44 car Conrail freight
train. The day before the accident, the two brothers had disappeared from home. Later on, the film
revealed that the two brothers had run away from home because they knew what their stepfather was
doing to their sister. The Crow Indian siblings were adopted into a white Baptist family that also
adopted their biological sisters seven years earlier. The crow Indian siblings were taken from a
troubled home in Montana. The filmmaker Chris Billings their Crow Indian brother is investigating
what drove his adopted brothers to this point. My initial reaction was, in the beginning, was the four

The two brother Bobby and Tyler were aware of the sexual abuse that the father was doing to Lana.
The two brothers ran away from home to get help for the sister and I do not like what their stepfather
was doing to her. Bobby and Tyler s death was hard for the siblings to deal with and it was something
they will never get. Losing two brothers at the same was hard for them to deal and how they died

my opinion, I do not think Bobby and Tyler s death was not an accident because the story did not
make sense to me and did not make sense to siblings either. The siblings knew their brother would not
lay down on the track and if they were laying on the track why didn t they get up. I believe the father
did something to brothers because they were aware of what he was doing to their sister. Lana discloses
this information to her brother and her brother want to protect her from him. Lana knew she could

Body Wall Tendons Research

Writing Assignment 2
BIOL 510
4/11/2017
Tendons are one of the most important tissues in the body of any organism, transferring the power
created by the muscles to the bones and allowing coordinated body movements to occur. However,
until recently there was very little known about the origin of this tissue and most of the research
performed focused on the limbs and the tendons associated with them. Along with the limited amount
of research it seemed that not of them were focused on the axial and ventrolateral body wall tendons.
It was not until later that the discovery of Scleraxis, Scx, which is a bHLH transcription factor found
in, but not limited to, progenitor cells that eventually lead to tendon formation. The discovery of ...

In situ hybridization was used to visualize Scx expression and QCPN to identify quail cells. The two
layers of sclerotome transplanted from quail to chick indicated that quail cells produced Scx tendon
progenitors and sclerotome. It also produced a complete set of tendon progenitors between the
myotome layers, indicating they arose from both chick and quail cells. While transplanted quail and
host chick sclerotome indicated that the Scx expressing cells were entirely produced by quail cells.
This observation suggested that Scx expressing cells between two layers of myotome form from the
anterior and posterior edges to two adjacent somites. On the other hand, two adjacent dermomyotome
layers did not produce any Scx expressing tendon progenitors but, it did produce myotome and
dermotome. This observation lead to the conclusion that the dermomyotome produces myotome and
the sclerotome produces the syndetome. These results raised the question: why is Scx expression only
being observed on the anterior and posterior boundaries of the somite closest to the myotome and if a
signal from the myotome was responsible for the observed

Mechanical Design Of Storage Vessel
MECHANICAL DESIGN PARAMETERS
The mechanical design of storage vessel are based on the following considerations:
(a) Design Code : ASME SEC. VIII or IS 2825 or BS : 5500 or equivalent duly approved by CCOE.
Design shall take into account Static and Mobile Pressure Vessels (Unfired) Rules 1981 also. A single
code shall be adopted for the design, fabrication, inspection and testing, i.e. ASME and BS shall not
be combined.
(b) Material : Micro alloyed steel containing Ni, MB, VA is not considered. Where H2S presence
cannot be completely ruled out (Like in Refineries), high stress material shall not be used as it is prone
to hydrogen induced stress corrosion cracking. Hence ASTM A516 Gr. 60 or equivalent is
recommended. For Marketing installations, where H2S is not present, ASTM A 516 Gr.70 or SA 537
CLASS 1 is recommended.
(c) Tensile stress : Recommended maximum tensile stress shall not be below 5625Kg/cm2 (80,000
psi.)
(d) Marketable LPG conforming to IS: 4576 is having a maximum vapour pressure of 16.87 Kg/cm2.

What Are The Three Equal Branches Of Government
The United States of America has three separate but equal branches of government: the executive
branch, the legislative branch and the judicial branch. All of these branches are different and have an
essential function in our government. They are all established in the first three Articles of the United

The legislative branch is in charge of passing the laws and allocating funds. The judicial branch has
the primary function of challenging legislation or interpreting such legislation. The Framer of our

Taking a Look at Prions
Though a relatively new institution, the realm of public health has been fairly consistent from its
conception. Using a methodology centered in evidence based, population approach health studies,
scientists have been given the means to fight and control disease around the world. Traditionally, a
communicable disease is caused by one of three foreign agents: bacteria, parasites, viruses. While
quite different, these four agents have much in common, including their adherence to Koch s germ
theory, their reliance on human hosts, and methods of transmission. In the last twenty years or so,
however, the scientific community has encountered a fifth type of pathogen that is completely
different in size, composition, and the disease it causes the prion. In its simplest form, a prion is a
protein in a misfolded form. Essentially, this protein propagates by transmitting its misfolded state to
other proteins in its host, specifically in cranial and neural tissue. The altered structure of the protein,
which constitutes the prion, is extremely stable, and cannot be denatured by chemical and physical
agents. The harm comes to the human or animal when the prions aggregate extracellularly in the
central nervous system, creating plaques and holes in the tissue diseases that are caused by prions are
known as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs). The recent discovery of prions, though
rare in existence, pose a serious threat to the consistency of public health and the

Budweiser Commercial Analysis
If you were to watch the Budweiser commercial called, Puppy Love, from start to finish you would
have no idea that this commercial is to advertise beer. At the end of the commercial the screen does

puppy if it were not to say Budweiser; unless you analyzed further into the commercial. This
advertisement is directed towards people that are age twenty one or older in the US, they must have a
taste for beer, and maybe more specifically Budweiser. Anyone that watches this would recognize that
in the United States, we have a law that you cannot drink alcohol under the age of twenty one.
Nevertheless, this commercial may be aired across the world we also need to place in mind that a few
countries have different laws regarding the drinking age. It is directed towards people who adore beer
for the obvious reasons of having an interest in the taste of beer to drink it as well as the brand
Budweiser. People that do not drink may not care for this commercial at all, meaning the majority of
the people that do care to drink beer would appreciate this commercial. The commercial does not

Overfishing And Its Effects On The Environment
In today s world most people do not care about the environment. People abuse the natural resources
that we were given for their own benefit. It is estimated that 60 percent of the worlds population lives
within 60km of the coast and that each year more than 2 billion tons of carbon dioxide is absorbed into
the ocean. Almost all of the problems with the ocean are man made. Ocean heath has deteriorated due
to humans depleting fish supplies, polluting the ocean, and a general lack of knowledge about just
how fragile the ocean is.
Overfishing is one of the largest and most relevant problems effecting ocean health today. It is defined
as The practice of commercial and non commercial fishing which depletes a fishery by catching so

Over the past several decades, humans have caused the health of our ocean to decline considerably.
Along with climate change and ocean acidification, overfishing has destroyed many marine
ecosystems. In the 1990 s, one of the worlds most abundant cod populations was quickly destroyed.
The Newfoundland cod fishery had been one of the most productive cod fisheries in the world.
Fishing for cod in Newfoundland had dated back to the 16th century, when the amount of fish seemed
endless. The Canadians had traditionally fished sustainably for cod using small boats and traditional
methods such as jigging or small inshore gill nets, but in the 1950 s and 1960 s other countries began
to join in on the fishing, using larger boats and nets. England, U.S., The Soviet Union, Spain, Portugal
and Germany all joined in on the action, increasing the annual catch from 250,000 tons to over
800,000 tons in 1968. From then on, the population slowly began to decline. With so many being
caught each year, the fish were no longer able to reproduce as efficiently and renew their numbers to
keep up with the demand. In addition to an increase in the commercial fishing fleets, new fishing
technologies were created to help catch as many fish as possible. Larger nets that dragged along the
bottom were created to catch every possible fish. These nets were killing young fish, other marine life,
and the food source for the cod, which eventually led to the entire

The Value Of Trust In The Movie Finding Forrester
Trust
In the movie Finding Forrester, the amount of trust in someone can be shown upon how good of a
relationship one has with another. Jamal, a highschool student, secretly has a passion for writing.
Forrester is an older man who agrees to mentor Jamal in writing, along with revise and edit his papers.
As Jamal visits Forrester more often, their relationship grows along with the trust they have in one
another. In Finding Forrester, being in a comfortable setting will allow one s relationship and trust to
develop and grow with one another.
As people s relationships grow, the more trust they will have in one another. Movielocity (2001) stated
Jamal encounters not only his first fan, but a mentor who will challenge and change him forever, and
Forrester has his first reason in years to emerge from his self imposed solitude (p. 1). Forrester and
Jamal have relied on each other in multiple aspects of life. As their relationship grows, their trust
grows along with it. Jamal pushes Forrester outside of his comfort zone by bringing him out into
public for the first time in 40 years. Forrester allowed him to bring him to a basketball game for his
birthday. This shows how far Forrester and Jamal s relationship has grown. Forrester has enough trust
in Jamal to take him out in public for his birthday, despite the fact that he has not left his apartment in
decades. The relationship between Forrester and Jamal has develops into a friendship that ultimately

The Da Vinci Surgical System What is the Da Vinci Surgical System? The Da Vinci Surgical System
is a large purpose built robot controlled by a surgeon that performs minimally invasive surgical
procedures on patients. The system incorporates an ergonomically designed surgeon s console, a

The Perfect Number
People often wonder, What is the perfect number? What they do not know is that there is more than
just one perfect number; there are many. Today s research tells us that there are forty eight perfect
numbers. A perfect number is a number that is equal to the sum of its positive divisors, excluding its
self. 6=1+2+3 28=1+2+4+7+14 18=1+2+3+6+9 (= 21)
To answer the question of what a perfect number is you need to know how to solve for a perfect
number, who has been involved in coming up with perfect numbers, the criteria, and interesting facts
about perfect numbers. Perfect numbers are more complex than just deciding whether a number is
considered perfect or not. First, what you have to do to get a perfect number. Every scholar has
invented their own formula to result in a perfect number. The most common formula is to take the
factors of a number and add them together. If the sum of the factors, except the number itself, results
in the original number then the number is perfect. Euclid invented a formula that is also used to solve
for perfect numbers: 2p 1 (2p 1) Ex.1: 21 (22 1)= 6 Ex.2: 22 (23 1)= 28
In this formula p stands for a prime number, therefore in the first example two is the prime number
being used. You have two as the base because this is what the formula calls for, and then you subtract
one from your prime number, two, to get two to the first power. Then inside your parenthesis you have
two to the second power, the base taken from the formula

In my opinion, I believe iron smelting is an efficient way of extracting iron as it has many companies
working with/against each other in finding the best way to make this process cost efficient, fast, safe
and environmentally friendly (as much as possible).
4. Identify the product(s) of separation and their uses
The product of smelting iron ore is pig iron. Alone, pig iron has limited uses, these include: basic
metal utensils, pot metals, fencing or railing, decorative metal pieces and pig iron pellets or ingots that
can be loaded into a plane for a balanced flight. Pig iron can also be converted to wrought iron and
steel and the uses of these include:
Wrought Iron: railings, hooks, chains, rivets and railway couplings.
Steel: construction, transport, energy, packaging and appliances and industry
5. Discuss issues associated with wastes from the industrial separation processes used
The smelting of iron utilises vast amounts of energy and thus creates greenhouse gas emissions. Large
amounts of gangue (slag) are also a problem produced as a waste product that needs to be disposed

Why Was The Nep Unpopular With Communists
Explain why the NEP was unpopular with many communists in the 1920 s USSR.
The NEP, abbreviation for the New Economic Policy , was a number of policies deployed by Vladimir
Lenin to improve the conditions of post war USSR. The NEP replaced the system of War Communism
which was used between 1918 and 1921. The main motive for the War Communism policy was to
support and supply the Red Army with food and weapons during the Russian Civil War. However,
after the war the country was in turmoil and the majority of the Soviet Union s population suffered
hardship and poverty. This was when a quick solution was needed to revamp the Russian economy
and the NEP policies were the solution. The NEP was made to balance the needs of the well of and ...

Other European countries used much more modernised equipments. However, the NEP does not
encourage this modernisation which could in fact dramatically improve the country s economy. Grain
export was the most important source for their agriculture yet the exports were three fourth lower than
it was a decade ago. This left the Russian economy to be far behind in modernisation than any other
European countries. Modernisation was pivotal as it can enhance a country s strength in many ways.
Most importantly, it would help support Russia s military at a time where an invasion to any European
country could be foreseen. The Communists were afraid of this, since they were prone to any invasion
with their weapons being out of date. The Communists felt they should be a major industrialization
powerhouse against other European rivals such as Germany however the NEP would make the country
even more vulnerable.
Moreover, peasant realised feeding themselves is more important than buying insignificant consumer
goods. So, they held grain for themselves and the grain export seems to have been abandoned. A
system scale of individual peasant farming under the NEP couldn t support plans for industrialisation
and the Communists were out of favour for this plan and so, the current NEP policy needs to be
replaced by a more vigorous and rapid one.
Developing the Russian economy would further be significant as there was an increase in
unemployment. The idleness was

The Effects And Effects Of The Industrial Revolution...
the Victorian years, some of the main characteristics we think of the industrial revolution and the
effects during the Victorian period. In this assignment I m going to explain the impact that the
industrial revolution had on people in
There are three main characteristics of the industrial revolution which most people would think of first
which are urbanization, suburb slums and agricultural revolution.
Urbanization is when people move from small towns and the countryside to live in cities for more job
opportunities. It developed to many people living in overcrowded houses, which lead to social classes
being organized into geographical zones. So, the working classes and under classes lived in the inner
city and the middle and upper classes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and using the method of a crop rotation which is when crops were rotated on three fields instead of
two this kept soil fertile, so more crops could grow.
There were many effects during the industrial revolution some were economic, and some were social.
One of the economic effects was the leisure industry. Using new technology and transportation many
people were able to travel more using the national railway networks, people were able to travel for
days out to the seaside for a cheap fare and so many business people started to run hotels for mainly
the middle class to go for holidays. There were many places people could go for leisure like the
Vauxhall pleasure gardens it was a place for all to go to escape reality it had a small entrance fee, but
it was a place for all social classes to mix and socialise. With all these new places and businesses there
was more opportunities for regular and full time employment. Victorian leisure became a popular
culture in Britain and its modernization under the boost of the industrial revolution. As industrialism
and urban growth began to grind down traditional patterns of rural life. Music halls became very
popular by the 1800 s and succeeded as a prototype modern entertainment industry . The middle class
had more options of leisure than the working class as they had

Hepatitis C is an inflammatory condition of the liver that ultimately results in cirrhosis consequently
leading up to liver cell cancer due to a blood borne virus. The infection is usually asymptomatic
showing how those who are infected with Hepatitis C are unaware of its presence until the condition
has become potentially life threatening. The main ways in which the virus is transmitted is from the
transfusion of unscreened blood, improper sterilization of invasive medical devices used in surgery
and other internal examinations of the patient and the reuse of syringes by health care providers for
common ailments or by narcotic users. Evidently, Pakistan as the second highest prevalence rate of

I will be analysing these ethical issues with the use of my chemistry and economical knowledge. The
research question An investigation into the mortality and morbidity of drug pricing from Hepatitis C in
Pakistan mainly uses pharmaceutical sciences to underline and justify the main objectives of drug
pricing whilst identifying the human implications from both perspectives of economics and chemistry.
Economical Justification
66% of Pakistan s population live in rural areas underlying the geographical issues with suffering from
Hepatitis C. The geographical consequences mainly ly with the isolation the rural population have
from the productive and thriving urban cities of the country. Individuals are unable to be a part of an
exponentially growing economy as they are unfortunately marked as the less prosperous part of the
country. This evidently leads to unemployment. Unemployment is defined as the people of working
age who are without work, available for work and actively seeking employment. This effectively
contributes to the prevalence rate as due to being unemployed people are unable to afford necessities,
such as Hepatitis C treatment, since there is no government system in place in aid of the unemployed.
However, if an individual is employed and earning an income, the income may not be sufficient
enough to accommodation an appropriate and successful course of treatment. In order to access
treatment, the amount of

Alligator And Crocodile Compare And Contrast
Most people believe that all Alligators and crocodiles live in the Everglades region in Florida, as it s a

instances. The environment that alligators and crocodiles live in is very different from one another.
There are only 2 types of alligators the in the world, American and Chinese. American Alligators live
in freshwater areas down in the Southeastern portion of the U.S, while the Chinese Alligators reside in
eastern China. They increase plant diversity and provide habitats for other surrounding animals during
the droughts. Unlike alligators, crocodiles have 14 different species, with many on the brink of

Mauro (1995) conducted a research based on a cross country data to evaluate causes of corruption

economic growth of different countries over the period 1971 1979 and 1980 1983. In his research,
Mauro used indices related to corruption from Business International Corporation which sells indices
to banks, companies, and investors. The indices are based on the responses of the BI s analysts from
more than 70 countries, and they reflect analysts perspective on conditions in a country. The indices
have values between 1 and 10, and higher values correspond to a better quality of institutions. Mauro
has used nine indices, which, in his opinion, are the best determinants of institutional efficiency:
political change (a change in institutional framework due to elections), political stability
(disintegration of political activities), probability of opposition group takeover (probability of the
opposition to gain power), stability of labor (possibility of labor disruption), relationship with
neighboring countries, terrorism, legal system (efficiency of labor environment), red tape
(bureaucracy), corruption. Mauro separated those nine indices into two groups based on how closely
the indices are correlated. The first group is labeled as bureaucratic efficiency and includes variables
such as legal system, red tape, and corruption. The second group of variables is labeled as political

We Shall Overcome Summary
The article, We Shall Overcome: Promoting an Agenda for Integrating Spirituality and Community
Practice by Anthony J. Hill and Linda Plitt Donaldson (2012) detailed the role of spirituality in social
work community practice and investigated previous research conducted integrating spirituality into
community practice. The article described the relationship between organized religion and community
outreach, since many religions offer assistance to needy members of their congregations and
communities.
An important claim of the authors was the lack of studies conducted about incorporating spirituality
into community practice. Spirituality has been studied at micro levels of social work and been found
to be influential in helping individuals, therefore, it is possible that it would be beneficial in macro
practice as well, furthermore, studies should be done to determine spirituality s efficiency in
community practice (Hill Donaldson, 2012).

In this poem states her thoughts on much of nature, as well as opinions on how to live life and honor
God. She contemplates verses of the bible containing the story of Cain and Abel and ponders the
nature of humans. The puritan viewpoint that man is weak and vain and full of sin is apparent in this
poem. Especially in the 29th stanza, Man at the best a creature frail and vain, / In knowledge ignorant,
in strength but weak, / Subject to sorrows, losses, sickness, pain, / Each storm his state, his mind, his

man is weak and sinful he still hopes for divine translation. Nor all his losses, crosses and vexation, /In
weight, in frequency and long duration / Can make him deeply groan for that divine Translation. Anne
Bradstreet was very strong in her Puritan values and it showed through in her poetry, especially this
one. The historical values of her time were based highly on the societies religious values. The poem
encompasses the societies view on nature and God, and man s place in the world. Bradstreet s form of

Obvious even to the first time and recreational reader or audience member, A Raisin in the Sun s
familial relationships play an integral role to the plot and overall tone of the play. In order to translate
to the screen the importance of the emotions shared in the family, the filmmaking team working on the
movie had to develop a system of shots and compositions that would imply the relationships visually
in order to support the already emotional dialogue of the play. A number of very important scenes
occur in the play, which are emphasized in the film by using these technical cinematic methods.
The first good example of emotion translated through frame composition is that in which Mama
reveals the purchase of the house in Clybourne Park, occurring in Act Two, Scene One of the play.
This scene is pivotal in the course of the narrative. Walter Lee s dream of opening his own liquor store

Furthermore, I will highlight and discuss personal development and its relation to being a childcare

I will discuss the importance of being a reflective practitioner and how this relates to professionalism.

to reflect on their self as a practitioner and identify any gaps in their knowledge. Benchmark 18 in the
standards for childhood practice (SSSC, 2015) states that Managers/lead practitioners engage in
professional reflection for continuing improvement this encourages practitioners to be critical of their
practice, support their own reflection and to include other users of the setting to become involved in
reflection. In my experience involving other users of the service such as parents, carers and children in
reflection may be beneficial as it allows you to take their thoughts, ideas and experiences on board as
well as your own personal reflections. Brookfield (1995) suggests that reflection has four lenses, one
of these being the student s lens. Workers should involve the experiences of the users of the setting

is important to reflect on practice as it encourages childcare workers to reflect on their self as a

teachers to obtain the workdays needed during grading periods. Markedly, students, even parents, have
positive outlooks on year round schooling by reason of the frequent breaks, giving them time to
rejuvenate and be prepared when they return back to school. Remediation is especially significant
when it comes to children retaining knowledge. Year round schooling allows for remediation to occur
periodically over the course of a school year, rather than just 3 months of summer break, which in
reality most kids aren t doing anything school related. For example, that 45 15 day schedule that year

  • 2. Empirical Formula Of Magnesium And Oxygen Empirical Formula Of Magnesium Oxide The goal of the assignment was to determine the empirical formula based on the reaction of Magnesium and oxygen. Empirical Formula is a calculation to find the lowest whole number ratio of elements within a compound. To find the empirical formula, first the student must assume that the total mass is 100g for each element if the problem given is a percentage, then convert mass to moles, after that, divide each mole by the lowest value of moles calculated, and finally round all the numbers to the nearest whole number. For this experiment, Magnesium and oxygen were used as our elements. To follow the experiment s instructions the student needs to use measurements like mass (body of matter without definite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My hypothesis of The reaction of Magnesium and oxygen should leave the empirical formula of MgO was not supported because the data had a specific ratio of 6 61. There could be a couple real errors in the experiment. One is that when you are supposed to clean the metal piece, it could not clean it perfectly which will affect your data. It will affect your data because it could add weight to the measurements and specific weight is key for empirical formula. Another real error could be not having enough time to finish your experiment and that could affect your data because you need time for the crucible to cool down in between measurements and weighing. To improve the experiment, one should wear gloves so they do not dirty the mg with their fingers and limit the exposure the mg has with fingers (not wearing gloves). To improve the time error, one should calculate how much time is needed for the crucible to cool down by finding a period of time when you can work for an extended period of time without having unrelated ... • 3. A Doll s House Review Essay A Doll s House Review A Doll s House was published in Norway in 1879 by Henrik Isben. He is known as the father of Modern Theatre. He is also referred as the father of realism. The play is very interesting because of the funny dialogue, the unique characters, and Ibsen s view of the place of ladies in the public eye. The main characters of the play is Nora Helmer and her husband Torvald Helmer. Imagine what it would be like to live in a doll s home? It s a house in which you are controlled and have no energy to settle on any solid choice; It s a house in which you are a play thing for another person s amusement. This sounds a ton like an awful marriage, so it s a house in which your husband holds the satchel strings, in a manner of speaking, and abandons you with no influence over your family s accounts. In fact, your husband keeps you on a tightrope. Such is the perceived life of Nora Helmer. A Doll s House is an example of a literacy work with numeral possible themes. The idea of the play is an expression of the need for women to escape from the confinement and restriction that they faced in nineteenth century European society, it is supported by the condescending manner in which Torvald treats Nora and by his frequent references to the respective value of men and women. Another theme is in order for a marriage to be successful, the people involved should know and trust each other, show view each other as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A cyanide molecule also has a strong tendency to bind with other atoms or compounds, yielding a variety of different products. The type of atom or compound to which the cyanide molecule bonds determines the properties and toxicity of the resulting product. There are two kinds of cyanide: organic and inorganic. Organic cyanides are typically called nitriles. Here, the CN group is linked by a covalent bond to a carbon containing group. Inorganic cyanide on the other hand is a negatively charged polyatomic ion. These kinds of cyanide are considered as the salts of hydrocyanic acid which are highly toxic. Manifestations and ... Using a methodology centered in evidence based, population approach health studies, scientists have been given the means to fight and control disease around the world. Traditionally, a communicable disease is caused by one of three foreign agents: bacteria, parasites, viruses. While quite different, these four agents have much in common, including their adherence to Koch s germ theory, their reliance on human hosts, and methods of transmission. In the last twenty years or so, however, the scientific community has encountered a fifth type of pathogen that is completely different in size, composition, and the disease it causes the prion. In its simplest form, a prion is a protein in a misfolded form. Essentially, this protein propagates by transmitting its misfolded state to other proteins in its host, specifically in cranial and neural tissue. The altered structure of the protein, which constitutes the prion, is extremely stable, and cannot be denatured by chemical and physical agents. The harm comes to the human or animal when the prions aggregate extracellularly in the central nervous system, creating plaques and holes in the tissue diseases that are caused by prions are known as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs). In the 1990 s, one of the worlds most abundant cod populations was quickly destroyed. The Newfoundland cod fishery had been one of the most productive cod fisheries in the world. Fishing for cod in Newfoundland had dated back to the 16th century, when the amount of fish seemed endless. The Canadians had traditionally fished sustainably for cod using small boats and traditional methods such as jigging or small inshore gill nets, but in the 1950 s and 1960 s other countries began to join in on the fishing, using larger boats and nets. Perfect numbers are more complex than just deciding whether a number is considered perfect or not. First, what you have to do to get a perfect number. Every scholar has invented their own formula to result in a perfect number. The most common formula is to take the factors of a number and add them together. If the sum of the factors, except the number itself, results in the original number then the number is perfect. The NEP, abbreviation for the New Economic Policy , was a number of policies deployed by Vladimir Lenin to improve the conditions of post war USSR. The NEP replaced the system of War Communism which was used between 1918 and 1921. The main motive for the War Communism policy was to support and supply the Red Army with food and weapons during the Russian Civil War. However, after the war the country was in turmoil and the majority of the Soviet Union s population suffered hardship and poverty. This was when a quick solution was needed to revamp the Russian economy and the NEP policies were the solution. The NEP was made to balance the needs of the well of and ... However, the NEP does not encourage this modernisation which could in fact dramatically improve the country s economy. Grain export was the most important source for their agriculture yet the exports were three fourth lower than it was a decade ago. This left the Russian economy to be far behind in modernisation than any other European countries. Modernisation was pivotal as it can enhance a country s strength in many ways. Most importantly, it would help support Russia s military at a time where an invasion to any European country could be foreseen. The Communists were afraid of this, since they were prone to any invasion with their weapons being out of date. The Communists felt they should be a major industrialization powerhouse against other European rivals such as Germany however the NEP would make the country even more vulnerable. Moreover, peasant realised feeding themselves is more important than buying insignificant consumer goods. So, they held grain for themselves and the grain export seems to have been abandoned. A system scale of individual peasant farming under the NEP couldn t support plans for industrialisation and the Communists were out of favour for this plan and so, the current NEP policy needs to be replaced by a more vigorous and rapid one. In his research, Mauro used indices related to corruption from Business International Corporation which sells indices to banks, companies, and investors. Hill and Linda Plitt Donaldson (2012) detailed the role of spirituality in social work community practice and investigated previous research conducted integrating spirituality into community practice. The article described the relationship between organized religion and community outreach, since many religions offer assistance to needy members of their congregations and communities. An important claim of the authors was the lack of studies conducted about incorporating spirituality into community practice. Spirituality has been studied at micro levels of social work and been found to be influential in helping individuals, therefore, it is possible that it would be beneficial in macro practice as well, furthermore, studies should be done to determine spirituality s efficiency in community practice (Hill Donaldson, 2012). A number of very important scenes occur in the play, which are emphasized in the film by using these technical cinematic methods. The first good example of emotion translated through frame composition is that in which Mama reveals the purchase of the house in Clybourne Park, occurring in Act Two, Scene One of the play. This scene is pivotal in the course of the narrative. Walter Lee s dream of opening his own liquor store seems truly killed during this scene, yet the dream so important to Mama and Ruth is simultaneously being fulfilled.
