2. Causes And Consequences Of B. F Skinner
Burrhus Frederick Skinner, more commonly known as B.F Skinner, believed studying the mind,
the internal mental events, was never productive since the mind acted like a black box. For him,
more productive approach was seeing a direct behavior. He thought the best way to understand a
behavior was to look at the causes of an action and its consequences operant conditioning. Operant
conditioning dealt with operants like internal actions that could have effect on surrounding
environment. He then set out to identify the process that made certain operant behaviors more or
less likely to occur. Skinner is regarded as father of Operant Conditioning, but his work was based
on Thorndike s Law Of Effect. However, Skinner added new term into the
Law of Effect reinforcement. This was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if we look at criminals and see if they are either born or made, psychopaths and
sociopaths have different personalities.
Psychopaths would be born criminals where their genetics have relations to their actions where
they could hide their feelings and pretend to care, but in reality, they do not. Sociopaths, in
contrast, are either made by their surroundings and parental influence. Therefore, if Skinner had
done the same experiment on human, who have more capabilities to think than animals, people
could have gone to the food straight. They could have yelled or called for help for food. They
could have shown more aggressive behaviors than animals and could have simply asked what to do
to people who were conducting the experiments. And if people who got experimented repeated their
actions over and over again for being right and getting what they wanted, their

5. High Fidelity Rob s Relationship
In Nick Hornby s High Fidelity, Rob, a record obsessed music fanatic, is contemplating his recent
break up with his long term girlfriend, Laura. The book features a period of soul searching for
Rob, as he tries to find closure for all of his relationships with women and attempts to find his
purpose in life. Hornby uses the character of Rob, Rob s relationship with Laura and the contrast
between Rob, Dick and Barry to show that hobbies can be used to interact with the environment
in different ways. Although they can often be used as a crutch inhibiting growth, they are more
often shown as a way to aid self development. Rob is an unmarried thirty five year old man. He

Rob met Laura while he was working as a DJ. Rob says that [Laura] came up to my little rostrum
thing and spoke to me, and I liked her straightaway: she asked me to play a record that I really
loved (87). Their relationship began because they shared a similar interest in music. If Laura
had not liked the music Rob played, she would not have returned to the Groucho Club or even
spoken to Rob and they would have never met. Likewise, if Rob had not been passionate about
music, he would not have been a DJ and would never have organized the Groucho Club.
However, Laura left Robert because she did not think he was mature enough for her, something
Rob was quick to blame on his interest in music. In Rob s opinion, Laura left him because his
obsession for music and his career in the music industry made him undesirable. On the other
hand, Laura and Rob salvaged their relationship with the help of music. When they start seeing
each other again, their romantic life is tense for an extended period of time and Laura tells Rob
that [he is] certainly not happy (271). She decides to re establish the Groucho Club as it is the
only job that really fulfilled Rob. When Rob starts working as a DJ again, he is content with his
social position and secure in his relationship with Laura. This is evidence that Rob and Laura met

6. Abelard and Aquinas Essay
Peter Abelard was a renowned dialectician from 1079 to 1142. He subjected theological doctrines
to logical analysis. In other words, he used rational argument to discover truth. Saint Thomas
Aquinas, was a believer in the power of reason, giving St. Augustine s theory an alternate
approach. He taught in Paris and Italy during the years 1225 to 1274. Both of these new age
thinkers changed the way Catholic followers viewed the natural world.
Peter Abelard was one of the new thinkers that applied scholasticism to his theological aspects.
According to the excerpt Scholastic thinkers assumed that some teachings of Christianity, which thy
accepted as true by faith, could also be demonstrated to be true by reason (238). Peter ... Show more

His greatest work was
Summa Theologica. In this work he attempted to merge faith with reason, and the works of Aristotle
with the scriptures. Historically, he is seen as an alternate approach to St. Augustine s view of the
city of man versus the city of God. Augustine and Aquinas shared the belief that the original sin was
Adam and Eve s venture through the garden of good and evil. On page 239, Aquinas held that both
faith and reason came from God, they were not in opposition to each other; properly understood,
they supported each other.. He did not want people to shun the idea of reason, he wanted the world
to see that it was not evil. Combining Christianity with Aristotelian knowledge, he shed light upon
the difficulty to distinguish common ground between the natural world and the supernatural world.
The excerpt is divided into two different sections, Whether, Besides the Philosophical Sciences,
Any Further Doctrine Is Required? and Whether God Exists?. In the second section he proves five
ways God exists by using Aristotle s technique in philosophy, they are motion, nature of efficient
cause, possibility and necessity, the graduation to be found in things, and the governance of the
world. The way he words his logic is extremely confusing. For example, Now it is not possible that
the same thing should be at one in actuality and potentiality in the same respect, but only in
different respects. For what is actually hot cannot

7. The Faerie Queen By Edmund Spencer
The Faerie Queen by Edmund Spencer uses erotic and mystifying dreams to provide insight into
the representation of gender relations; it is through women that the emotional state of desire as
well as terror is experienced. Throughout the epic women dominate the visions experienced by
the knights which sometimes makes the dreams more complex and difficult to interpret.
Interestingly, the male counterparts within the context of the epic explore controversial
implications of their virtues as men, because of how they conceptualize women within their
dreams. In the first canto of the epic the Red Cross Knight conceptualizes Una in his dream as a
deceiver. However, it is Archimago that is responsible for Kinght s sense of deception as he
sends an emissary to the underworld to acquire a fit false dreame (I.i.43.9) with the sole purpose
of taunting the Red Cross Knight. Archimago wants to take advantage of his thoughts and feeling
towards Una. A dream of this nature would corrupt his chivalric code, and strip him down to a
mere man his manly hart did melt away (I.i.47.5), left Red Cross bathed in wanton blis and
wicked ioy (I.i.47.6), then prompted him to fly into a rage against the innocent Una. The Red
Cross Knight is tormented by the dream of Una , and yet is plagued once again by Archimago who
sends a springht, that feigning dreame, and that faire forged Spright (I.ii.2.2) to give the knight with
a vision of Una engaging sexually in an illicit manner. Not surprisingly,

Franz Kafka created literature mater pieces filled with sociological perspectives, and sort of
Literary modernism basically much of which we can use to actually define generally modern and
historic really social issues, which generally is quite significant. Kafka kind of was born in july 3,
1883 in in the city of Praguealso known as the very capital of the for all intents and purposes
Czech Republic, definitely contrary to popular belief. He kind of was one of six, with his two
younger brother passing during their infant stages and his three sisters Ottilie, Elli, and Valli
who also passed later down the line, or so they actually thought. His parents never understood his
creative ideas and his passion for literature, often finding his ideas being undermined by his
father, or so they for all intents and purposes thought. Kafka s father really ruled the household in
a tyrannical manner, he generally was also one example used to paint pictures of hardship, hate,
and disappointment in most of his work in a subtle way. Kafka s father was also a well known
uneducated merchant who specifically worked his way up in the very Jewish slum of Prague, or so
they basically thought. One of Franz Kafkas greatest work of art for the most part was The
Metamorphosis, really much of which described his life, sort of further showing how he

10. Remebering Vimy Essay
Whether it be depictions of the noble savage or a red clad, horse riding Mountie patrolling the
northern nation, Canadians have a knack for creating a mythical element to their past.
Deconstructing national myths has become a burgeoning field of academic inquiry as evidenced by
monographs such as Daniel Francis in his book National Dreams: Myth, Memory, and Canadian
History. A central event in the Canadian consciousness, with much national sentiment attached to it,
is that of Vimy Ridge. On April 9, 2007 over thirty five hundred high school students from across
Canadacongregated at the newly restored Canadian National Vimy Memorial near Vimy, France.

This essay examines the myth formation of Vimy Ridge in the English Canadian myth symbol
complex. Through an examination of the military achievements upon which the Vimy myth is
based, global and local views of the success at Vimy, the foundation of Vimy as national myth will
be examined. The cultural aftershock shown through the magnitude of published poetry and
construction of a National Monument, and how the Battle of Vimy Ridge is taught in English
Canadian secondary education systems will divulge an analyse of Vimy Ridge as an active part of
the English Canadian imagined community s myth symbol complex ninety years after its
conception. Although among Allied powers, the Battle of Vimy Ridge remains only a part of the
much larger British offensive, the Battle of Arras. For Canadians, however, Vimy is perpetuated
through Canadian history as the birthplace of English Canadian nationhood from a time when it
lacked a strong global presence on the international stage.
Before an examination of the perpetuation of Vimy as a national myth within Canadian society can
occur, the term myth itself must be clarified. Myth will neither be viewed as a pejorative or
positive term, nor as quaint stories or falsehoods. Rather, in accordance with the definition of myth
provided by Clarence Bolt, myths are deeply (often unconsciously) held beliefs and values that
provide people with meaning and purpose...help[ing]

11. Marxists theory to the sociological understanding of crime...
Assess the contribution of the Marxist theory to the sociological understanding of crime and
deviance. (21 marks) Marxism is a macro/structural approach to society, meaning that it looks at
the large scale societal structure for answers about how society works and operates and explores
crime and deviance in relation to classes within a capitalist society. Marxists claim that laws do
not reflect a value consensus, instead laws and law enforcement benefits the rich (protection of
private property), and discriminate the poor which brings about social class reproduction, the
working class are criminalised for their crimes but the criminal just system are more lenient

Pearce also explores how white collar crime is hidden from the masses and this puts them in a
state of false consciousness so they do not see the full extent of the white collar crime, this is
ideological social control, this is often linked to the media which often portrays stereotypes and
demonises the poor as criminals. Chambliss looks into selective law enforcement, at the heart of
the legal system in the protection of private property, this ensures that the ruling class maintain
their wealth, which leads to social class reproduction. All social groups commit crime, but it is
the poor who are targeted by the criminal justice system. This is linked to stereotypes where the
police target deprived groups in deprived areas e.g. stop and search. There are many strengths
and weaknesses to the Marxist approach, such as it explores law making as well as law
breaking, it examines selective law enforcement so looks into the discrimination of the working
class. They also highlight the idea of social control and how police are more likely to stop and
search people based on stereotypes that are displayed in the media which can also be linked with
the labelling theory. However there are some weaknesses to the Marxist approach such as that it
ignores how some laws benefit everyone, and ignores gender and ethnicity which can be a vital
factor in differences in crime and deviance and it is too

Entering International Markets Measuring a potential business venture has many aspects which the
international manager must be aware of in order to convey the correct information back to the
decision makers. Being ignorant to any of the aspects can lead to a false representation of the
project, and hence an uninformed decision being passed. In order for a business to survive it must
grow. For growth to be optimal, management must first be able to identify the most attractive
prospective leads. The country as a whole, specifically geography, government, and financial aspects
must be looked at in order to yieldthe best possible picture of the market a company wishes to enter.

After sifting through the leads and finding the right ones to investigate management must formulate
an international marketing plan. This further helps management in locating potential markets for
their products. The first step is to use secondary research to find out what the sales potential is in a
given market. Asking the questions of need, demand, and support gives one a starting point for
research. If we were a company that sold pants we might want to ask the following questions. Is
there a need for pants? Is it cold enough there to wear pants? Do people that demand the pants have
money? These are the questions that one should ask of potential markets. Table 1 located at the end
of the paper shows the statistics that are needed for a general market picture. After gathering the
information from the secondary research, the picture of a potential market becomes more evident.
However, to make the picture clearer, one must conduct primary research. This research outlines the
specifics of the potential market that directly pertain to the product. Robert Douglas book,
Penetrating the International Market, addresses the issue of locating potential markets in greater
detail.2

ethics but one main one I abide by are the Ten Commandments. This includes commands such as:
no other gods before Him, do not steal, murder, commit adultery, do not misuse the name of God,
and keep the sabbath holy. Each one has a reason I value and believe is important to keep. For

Many worldviews have multiple opinions of psychology, but no one knows this better than

Christian recognize the metaphysical world and there are multiple verses in the Bible agreeing
with this view point, an example would be in John 4:24, God is spirit, and those who worship him

continuity of my identity has remained undisrupted. Due to the constant changing, no one would

Have you ever wondered about what a product or a medicine goes through before it gets to us on
the store shelves? Products from deodorant to Viagra to weed killer go through years of tests
before a regulating body decides they are safe for us to use. The FDA approves drugs and
cosmetics and he EPA regulates chemicals that are used and may be harmful to the environment.
However before these products are even considered by these regulatory bodies they must go through
years of testing. Testing that is unfortunately done on defenseless animals. Each year 50 to 100

This type of test is disturbing due to the fact that there are several highly sensitive non animal tests
that can be done to detect chemical induced genetic mutations but the government still requires
companies to poison animals to see whether or not they will develop cancer. The standard test of
the kind is the rodent cancer bioassay. Mice and rats are subjected to a lifetime of chemical
exposure to the chemicals in all new or reformulated pesticides, food additives, and drugs. Studies
have proven that these tests are found to have more than a 70 percent false positive rate. The final
group of tests that are performed on animals is product tests. No law requires that cosmetics and
household products be tested on animals however, the FDA does urge companies to conduct
whatever tests are necessary to establish that their products are safe and the Consumer Safety
Product Commission that regulates household products does not require animal testing yet many
companies do it anyway. I have saved what I feel is the most cruel aspect of animals testing is that

Stalin was courageous, rambunctious, bold, fierce, and determined. Stalin knew that in order to

to their cause. Stalin used these traits and put them to work gaining Lenin s admiration. What Stalin

As Stalin s power began to grow, there was one person who dared speak out against it, Vladimir

became concerned with who would become his successor. Stalin and Lenin had a strong political
relationship and Stalin would visit Lenin often to discuss the direction of Russia and the Soviet
Union. However, one day Stalin cursed at Lenin s wife and Lenin was understandably very upset.
This began the breaking down of their relationship. Lenin began heeding the warnings from
Trotsky about Stalin s power hungry ways and he began keeping detailed notes of disapproval
about Joseph Stalin. Although Lenin s Testament was meant to be a public account of Lenin s fears
in terms of the Soviet Union under Stalin, Stalin had allied with Lev Kamanev, the acting Premier
during Lenin s last year, and Grigori Zionoviev, head of the Comintern, and through their combined
influence, they had suppressed the document from being revealed to the Twelfth Party Congress.
Although these men did not truly agree with his policies, they did not want Trotsky to take over so
they sided with Stalin to prevent that from happening. On January 21, 1924, Lenin died. Thanks to
Kamanev and Zionoviev s influence, Lenin s Testament was again not made public but instead only
read to the Thirteenth Party Congress. Although people were shocked to hear Lenin s thoughts of

originally began with the British and their requirement for standards in Defense Industries. To
qualify, a firm had to detail in writing the procedure for making their product, the procedure had to

How are the photographs taken with a 3D microscope different than those taken with a regular

They are different, because you can see so much more when you look through a microscope. For

100th of a millimeter.
How can photography allow us to view the world around us in different ways?
By taking memories, and valueing them. Teaching us to cherish the times spent with loved ones,

Abstract:
Cyberbullying is an online harassment of children by others. The works of Patchin, Shariff, and

cyberbullying that can be understood. Most cyberbullying instances happen at home and is often
brought to the school campus. School systems are left unsure of how to response to the bullying
while balancing legal and ethnic responsibilities. Students across the nation are being bullied online
and are bringing to school the residual effects of these personal attacks The issues include
traditional bullying, teen social media use and cyberbullying. The issue of cyberbullying cannot
truly be addressed unless it is approached reactively. It has become increasingly evident that the
Internet has brought to our campuses another threat to student safety. It has come to the point
where school districts have zero tolerance policies against bullying to case of cyberbullying.

The significance of the Common Man in A Man For All Seasons.
==============================================================
I have decided to explore how Bolt uses the Common Man to emphasise the features of the major
characters and to illustrate the main themes of the play. I will also explore the role the common man
plays in the structure of the play and his effect on the audience.
The Common Man is the only character who speaks directly to the audience, which I think is
important as it means they can feel part of the play: there is interaction between the audience and
actors. This communication may increase the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Common Man s comments on the characters may also raise moral issues amongst the
audience. For example, the Common Man remarks on More s wilful indifference to realities. In
one sense the audience may agree with this as they may feel More does not take a very realistic
approach to government. This is illustrated in scene two, when More and Wosley are discussing
the divorce, they may feel that Thomas s ideal to govern the country by prayer is not very
practical. Wosley: you d like that wouldn t you? To govern the country by prayer? More: Yes I
should
However, others may disagree with the Common Man and think that More is realistic in judgement.
For example, he ensures his family does not know any information they could be asked about in
court, to make sure they stay out of danger. Therefore the common man is significant in the sense
that his commentary has an effect on the audience: his judgements may cause the audience to ask
themselves if Thomas More deserves the title A Man For All Seasons?
Because this play deals with events that actually occurred (eg: the reformation of the church) and
people who actually lived, the common man plays a significant role in telling us the real events of
the time, which relate to the plot. For example, in Act

What To Do About Damaged Shingles On Your Roof
Replacing a loose shingle is a common type of roof repair you may have to make, especially if
you have trees that grow too close to your roof. When tree branches scrape the shingles, they lift
up the edges and the shingles eventually curl. Then the wind catches them during a storm and
finishes ripping the shingles off the roof. Even if the shingles aren t missing completely, you still

Making The Repairs

difficult to find an exact color match if your shingles are old and faded due to sun exposure, so
you ll have to do the best you can. In addition to shingles, you ll need roofing nails, a crowbar,

A mineral compound known as Hydroxyapatite (HAP) or Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 is the primary
inorganic component of hard tissues, like bones and teeth, found in humans and other vertebrate
animals [1]. One of the most known properties of HAP is that it is bioactive. It has the capability
to assimilate in bone structures and reinforce boneingrowth and osseointegration. However, it is
thermally unstable and putrefies at temperature ranges between 800п‚°C 1200п‚°C. Also, the
mechanical strength of HAP is not that good making it unsuitable for long term load bearing
applications. [2] It is tough but very brittle and weak in tension [3].
HAP can be synthesized starting from calcium carbonate and a variety of orthophosphate sources
e.g. sodium and ammonium dihydrogen, orthophosphoric acid, orthophosphates, and potassium [4].
A natural source of HAP includes human and animal bones. The Weston A. Price Foundation said

fluoridated mineral of calcium phosphate . Nonetheless, exposing native HAP and fluoroapatite to
soluble calcium without phosphate produces calcium derivatized apatites.

The Photographer and His Camera
Since the invention of the camera in 1839, photography has transformed the entire nature of art in
that it brought about a great revolution of the traditional arts, pushing it from depictions of a world
we already knew to expressions of inward gestures and creativity. Photography conveniently
replaced with images the words that were once essential to describing a visual. These images are in
fact very different in nature from the continuous action of television, as well as the timeless
sculpture. Abolishing the concept of time and space, the technology of the photo is thus fabricated

Because man and machine are inseparable, the influences of art and technology run toward
convergence. Rudolph Serkin, a concert pianist, when asked who he performed for, himself, the

world where mankind and technology are so dependent on each other, the photographer
photographs exclusively for his camera, not himself or what is in front. He is, in turn, the mass

The possibility of seeing the photographer s work as completely neutral or aesthetically intriguing is
basically non existent. There is no essential difference between photography as documentation and
photography as artwork. By definition, photography is printing positives chemically from negatives
to yield an exact duplication; but through the lens of a camera, all objects, including people, are
unnaturally fixed. It is undeniable that the photographer creates with the intention to sell and

Doctors generally use medications to treat the symptoms of FOP. Because there are not many cases

most common medications used to treat the symptoms of FOP include:
Aminobiphosphates: This type of drug suppresses the formation of blood vessels, which is what
bone tissue requires for growth. Aminobiphosphates also limit bone resorption through shortening
the life span of osteoclasts.
Corticosteroids: The use of corticosteroids like prednisone during a flare up can help decrease
inflammation and swelling, thus shortening the duration of the inflammatory process.

42. Light On The Fourth Crusade
The Fourth Crusade by Donald Queller and Thomas Madden sheds light on the last great crusade
and the on goings within the event. The authors capture a glimpse into the world of the middle
ages, and provides insight into the relationships within the crusades. Soon after his promotion to
papacy in 1198 Innocent III announced his goal for possession of the holy lands. He announced a
crusade and put forth a call for crusaders to all towns including barons while excluding kings.
Innocent III intended for the crusade to be wholly under the control of the papacy. Unfortunately,

43. Soccer Community Description Of Soccer Essay
UCF Soccer Community Description
Soccer consists of many important text and lexis, the first being the rulebook for soccer. It
consists of how to play soccer, what you can and cannot do during a game, and the setup for the
team: 11 players on the field, 2 teams, 3 4 referees, and as many backup players on the bench.
The importance of this text is how the lexis is incorporated into literacy. The goal of the rulebook
is to guide a new player on how to play the game, but most importantly it will build how they
interpret the game and how those interpretation of the rules spread into their life. Players learn
how to be more perceptive of what is happening around them and this helps to stimulate their
brains. But how do players perceive what going on on the field? They read a playbook.
Playbooks contain names and descriptions of many common and intricate soccer plays. This
may consist of: bicycle kicks a player throwing both feet in the air as a ball is approaching on the
fly, while moving the legs with a pedaling motion to kick the ball in the opposite direction to
which the player is facing, with the player usually ending up sprawled on the ground, chip kicking
the ball right over the goalies head, or volley strike or kick (the ball) before it touches the ground.
These types of plays help players connect their minds with the ball, building their knowledge and
eventually, literacy. The last important text is motivating speeches. These are so important because

44. U-High Creek Water Quality Analysis
The water quality of the U High creek was found to be excellent. Though the water has excellent
quality, some other creeks have very poor water quality. This bad water is due to pollution, and
pollution comes from humans. One way water quality can be tainted is pollution from farms.
Fertilizer and farm wastecan be very harmful to creek water quality. The fertilizer used on crops
/ fields can runoff the fields and into creeks due to lots of rain. The chemical pollutionin the water
leads to high level of nitrate and phosphate. Algae uses this to grow very fast (eutrophication) and
then dies and breaks down by bacteria which quickly multiple and use up all the oxygenkilling the
organisms in the water (Lenntech, 1998 2016). A second way that creeks can become polluted is
through chemical waste from industrial companies. Chemical waste from industrial processes are
sometimes accidentally dumped into rivers. Some of these chemicals include cyanide, zinc, lead,

From this, engineers determined that chassis quality was important. A fourth table was created
to know the importance index of various function groups by using information from table1 and
table 3. For example, the importance index for chassis is calculated by multiplying each row in
table 3 with the relative percentage of each column of table1 that is (.50 x .41) + (.30 x .32) + (.10
x .18) + (.10 x .09) = .33. A final table was developed to calculate the target costindex for each
functional group. The target cost index was calculated by dividing each important index (from
table 4) with target cost (from table 2). For example, the importance index for Chassis is .33 and
the target cost is 20% so the target cost index is 1.65. A function group with target cost index

One of England s most famous writers, Geoffrey Chaucer, was known for writing social
commentary and for his ironic descriptions. His most famous work The Canterbury Tales is no

the clergy s corruption and greed. Three characters in particular represent the problems Chaucer
solved for the church. The Friar is supposedly a religious man of God, that would live among the
poor. Although people would not see how the Friar was, Chaucer knew the sneaky things he
would do and allows the character to see the true Friar. A Friar there was, a wanton, and a merry,
a limiter, a very festive man. (208 209.) Unprofessionally, the Friar went from place to place
collecting donations for the Church when the money would go to him. He would basically use his
position in the church to get money. Friar s intentions were dishonest and would also make money
by selling his blessings. He should have been even more poor than the people he had helped, but

Many people have heard different theories about why President Washington died. The most
common one though, seems to be the fact that he was blood let, leading to his subsequent death.
If that does not seem unusual enough, how about people drinking their own poop. Well believe
it or not, people have been known to do that willingly, mainly for various medical reasons, one
being fecal bacteriotherapy (FBT). Another even stranger solution people came up with for
curing maladies, is trepanation the act of drilling holes in others heads. All of these unusual
practices have led to valid current day medical procedures. Blood letting was a common practice
used throughout history as a cure for everything from acne, to the plague, to bleeding, and
everything in between! Galen s four humors theory contributed to this idea greatly, with the
thought that there were four substances in the body that had to be kept in balance to stay healthy.
One of the four substances was blood; if there was too much or too little, they would ill. Blood
letting is still used today to treat the blood disorder hemochromatosis, where patients have too
much iron in their blood. Now though, phlebotomy is done under safer conditions by medical
professionals who remove a portion of blood approximately equal to a blood donation, one pint.

term, however the results and effects of the War were a factor that ultimately led to the collapse of
the Soviet Unionas a whole.
The short term impact World War 2 had for the Soviet Union was positive for the growth and
evolution of the Soviet Union. The War both enhanced nationalism, and propelled the Soviet
Union to a major world player. In the eyes of Stalin, WWII was exactly what the Soviet Union
needed to evolve into a great nation. The war created great sense of nationalism and unity that

The Evaporation Race
When it rains, puddles of water are often left behind, but it starts to disappear after just a few
hours. What is happening? This is called evaporation. Evaporation is a very common natural
process that occurs all around the world, where a liquid changes from a liquid state to a gaseous
state. Evaporation occurs when enough heat energy is absorbed by the molecules in a liquid state
to the point where it starts to vaporize. Do other liquids react in the same way? The answer is yes,
but in this experiment, a heat source will be used to evaporate different liquids. The results will
show if certain liquids do, in fact, evaporate faster or slower than others depending on their
ingredients.
How do liquids change from a liquid to a gas phase? A liquid is a primary state of matter that has
no specific shape. According to chemwiki.ucdavis.edu, Liquids are more dense and less
compressible than gasses. Liquids have a definite volume, independent of the size and shape of
their container. The attractive forces are not strong enough, however, to keep neighboring
molecules in a fixed position and molecules are free to move past or slide ... Show more content on

How is the dependent variable, evaporation rate, affected by different liquids? As said on

bonds that hold water molecules together, which is why water easily evaporates at the boiling point
(212Лљ F, 100ЛљC)... Water s boiling point is a known fact, but other liquids with lower boiling
points evaporate faster, and that is what will make the evaporation rate for each liquid vary. If
energy is added to a liquid, the molecules will react by vibrating faster and spreading apart,
eventually changing the liquid to a gaseous phase. With these facts in mind, one can resume with
