Misinformant And Misreading Ian Mcewan s Atonement
Misinformant and Wrongful conclusions In his essay Who Killed Robbie and Cecilia? Reading
and Misreading Ian McEwan s Atonement Martin Jacobi argues the role of misreading in Ian
McEwan s Atonement and the consequences of misreading and reading with preconception.
Misreading is the incorrect or misinterpretation of a reading. In McEwan s Atonement misreading is
a key concept that allows Ian McEwanto persuade readers into believing situations and conclusions
that are not confirmed. Jacobi s main argument examples focuses on the misreading and
interpretation of two main characters deaths, Robbie and Cecilia. The misreading in Atonement
causes readers to believe they are dead even though it is not confirmed. Jacobi further argues that
along with misreading reading with preconceptions also leads to misinterpretation, that when we
read we have preconceptions about the novelwhich leads to assumptions about what will occur.
(Jacobi 71) While Jacobi argues the negative of having preconceptions about a novel, having
knowledge and information about a novel and the author can be beneficial when trying to
understand the novel and the why in the novel. Knowing information about when the novel is set,
what was happening during this time can be useful for understanding as well as useful for avoiding
misreadings. Although I agree with Jacobi s argument that misreading and reading with
preconceptions can lead to misinterpretation and wrong conclusions, I do believe that having

Mise En Scene In Blade Runner
Mise en Scene in Blade Runner
1.What is mise en scene? How does the concept mise en scene relate to cinematography, editing
and sound? Mise en scene is a concept regarded to be controversial in cinematography due to the
many intricate factors that can be admittedly its encumbrances. The term could mean all the
creative input the producer designs to create a particular essence of the film. In broad, the term can
be used to describe scene composition, lighting, visual effects, costumes, sets and props among
many other variables other than editing effects. It has also been described as the methodology of
enhancing choreographed movements within a scene rather than through editing. Cinematography
is an intricate art of producing moods, space and time cues that leave an impact and an impression
on the viewers. Mise en scene is one of the most sublime techniques of enhancing the emotional
impact of a film. Together with sound effects, and editing, a film directorcan produce nearly
magical experience and emotional impact on the target audience and viewers of the film.

Exploring The Traditional Chinese Culture
Exploring Traditional Chinese Culture
China is one of the oldest civilizations on the planet, records of Chinese civilization dates back to
around 1766 B.C.E. China is located in eastern Asia along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. With
approximately 3.7 million square miles, China is the fourth largest nation in the world. In the west,
the area consists of mountains, high levels, and desert. The eastern areas are described by fields,
deltas, and hills, the highest point being the largest mountain in the world; Mount Everest. China is
also the most populous country on earth. The assessed population in 2014 was 1.36 billion people,
which is more than one fifth of the world s populace. (Central Intelligence Agency, 2016) Of these
individuals, 92 percent are Han Chinese; the remaining 8 percent are individuals of Zhuang,
Uyghur, Hui, Yi, Tibetan, Miao, Manchu, Mongol, Buyi, Korean, and different nationalities.
Mandarin Chinese is the official language. However, China is also home to several other languages
including Cantonese, Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur, Zhuang, English, and Portuguese.
(Introduce four topics somehow)
Relationships Traditional Chinese culture discouraged any intimacy between unmarried couples, as
well as public display of affection between boys and girls. However, over time China has become
more accustomed to the idea of dating and premarital sex. According to a survey, one third of urban
youth thought premarital sex should be condoned by society and that

Comedy in I Henry IV and II Henry IV by William...
Comedy in I Henry IV and II Henry IV
In I Henry IV and II Henry IV, William Shakespeare brings together drama and comedy to create
two of the most compelling history plays ever written. Many of Shakespeare s other works are
nearly absolute in their adherence to either the comic or tragic traditions, but in the two Henry IV
plays Shakespeare combines comedy and drama in ways that seem to bring a certain realism to his
characters, and thus the plays. The present essay is an examination of the various and significant
effects that Shakespeare s comedic scenes have on I Henry IV and II Henry IV. The Diversity of

(II Henry IV, II. iv. 113 122)
The scene is filled with bawdy references and second meanings, meanings which the audience
would undoubtedly find uproarously funny. Hal, too, often speaks this language of the lower
classes, especially when chiding Falstaff: These lies are like the father that begets them gross as a
mountain, open, palpable. Why, thou clay brained guts, thou knotty pated fool, thou whoreson
obscene greasy tallow catch (I Henry IV, II. iv. 224 227). The language Shakespeare uses in the
tavern scenes is certainly different from the more solemn and courtly language found in the plays
more dramatic moments, as in Hal s gallantry towards Hotspur upon the latter s death:
Prince. But let my favors hide thy mangled face;
And, even in thy behalf, I ll thank myself
For doing these fair rites of tenderness
Adieu, and take thy praise with thee to heaven.
Thy ignominy sleep with thee in the grave,
But not remembered in thy epitaph. (I Henry IV, V. iv. 95 100)
The differences in styles of language truly brings alive the plays various characters, from the
lowliest drawer to the noblest knight. The playwright s audience would have been composed of a
similarly diverse spectrum of society, from the groundlings at the foot of the stage, to the members
of the court in attendance, and these disparate members of the audience might very well have come
away from the plays with different interpretations of

Anne Moody Coming Of Age Essay
In the Jim Crow South, Anne Moody lived her life trying to overcome the challenges of living in a
racist society. In her autobiography, Coming of Age in Mississippi, she details her intimate
experiences as a young African American woman facing the challenges of growing up in the Jim
Crow South during the mid twentieth century. This autobiography is divided into four,
chronological sections: childhood, high school, college, and the Movement. In the first section of
the book, Moody recollects her life living in extreme poverty and battling racial distinctions at a
young age. Throughout her struggle to find a balance between school and work, Moody begins to
take note of the racial inequalities in her society. The black and white dichotomy was not the only
form of racial distinction she internalized. The poor treatment of high yellows ... Show more content

Because racial etiquette played a huge role in the dynamic of systematic oppression, this death
was not just any other death. This tragic event marked a turning point in Moody s life. She
finally came to a realization that the treatment of blacks in this country was unjust and cruel.
While growing into a beautiful woman, she also learns of the NAACP and their efforts to
overthrow racial inequality. She then transferred to Tougaloo College for her final two years of
college where she began taking part in the Movement. Here, Moody joined the NAACP. From the
sit in at Woolworth s in Jackson to numerous protests within the area, she allowed the struggle of
her people to pave the way to her membership in CORE. Shortly after, Moody became a CORE
activist in Madison County where she became very active in the Freedom Vote. Because of her avid
participation in this sector of the movement, her criticism of the movement in general offers a

Causes Of Bismarck Unification Germany
Many believe that Prince Otto Edward Leopold von Bismarck, later known as just Bismarck, was
the main reason for German unification. Bismarck was the first chancellor of this new country as
Bismarck had changed 39 smaller states, into one large industrial power. The unification of
Germany had a large impact on the balance of powers in Europe. Bismarck dominated Germanyand
European politics for nearly 30 years. However some historians argue that Bismarck was only this
successful and powerful because of circumstances out of his control. Nationalism and liberalism
were rising as an ideology, the decline of Austria had an effect and 1848 was nicknamed as a year
of revolutions due to the amount of revolutions that took place also factored in, but at the heart of
all these is Bismarck s use of deception and realpolitik and manipulating situations to his advantage.
The traditional belief that Bismarck unified Germany because of the wars with France Austria and
Denmark. Although these are important in the grand scheme of unifying Germany. For Bismarck
to provoke these wars and turn them into his advantage, foundations had to be laid to support
these actions other factors had been in place to support Bismarck and his belief for a unified
Germany. Nationalism was one of these factors. Revolutions flourished and changed countries in
Europe. One of these was the coup d Г©tat led by Napoleon Bonaparte to save France from the
terror reign of Robespierre., He aimed to unite the whole

impeachment states the court can use tainted evidence or illegally obtained evidence to impeach

defendants who believe their Miranda rights have been violated due to an unreasonable search
conducted by law enforcement. The rule protects government officials against lawsuits. Finally the

exceptions to what deemed admissible to court with the violation of the Fourth Amendment. The

Technology, through the times, has offered many options in protecting the society from crimes and
other evil doings. However, with industrialization, the proliferation of computers and complex
political and social systems, our society needs a heightened level of security. Police and military
personnel continue guarding us against criminals and terrorists. However, there is the needfor
individuals to consult other security services and private eyes to conduct their own investigations
and protect their properties, families, and businesses. They invest in modern and efficient
surveillance equipment to monitor activities within their facilities such as spy cameras to secure
their families and alert them of suspicious individuals.

Also, they are very small, which poses both advantages and disadvantages their small size ensures

Internet IP Spy Camera
IP spy cameras share the same principle as other kinds of spy cams, the only difference being that
you can view what it sees directly on your computer. This makes it ideal for people who wantto get
real time videos. Also, some IP cams offer remote viewing this means that you are not limited to
using the computer which it is connected to, you can use any computer as long as you have

because, while nanny cameras are cool to have and use, they all have unique aspects, features, and

The Seven Dispensations In The Bible
The seven dispensations are not explicitly stated in the Bible. Instead they are a Biblical
interpretation that divides the history of mankind into seven different categories. There are
different versions or interpretations of the seven dispensations, but I will explain the general
understanding that is commonly accepted. The seven dispensations are: the dispensation of
innocence, the dispensation of conscience, the dispensation of human government, the dispensation
of promise, the dispensation of law, the dispensation of grace, and the millennial kingdom of
Christ. The first dispensation, innocence, begins with the creation of man (Genesis 1:27) and ends
with the fall of man (Genesis 3). This dispensation is called innocence because Adam, the first
man, was created innocent and without knowledge of good and evil. Adam was given the authority
to rule over everything of the earth, under one condition: Adam and Eve must not eat from the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The time period of this dispensation is 1,000 years. The responsibilities of the resurrected Old
Testament saints, glorified church, and survivors of the tribulation will be to remain obedient,
remain unified, and continue worshiping Jesus. (The Seven Dispensations) There will be
peace, justice, unity, abundance, healing, righteousness, and joy during the 1,000 year reign of
Jesus on earth and satan will be locked up in the abyss unable to escape. (The Seven
Dispensations) After the 1,000 year reign is over satan will be let out one last time to tempt
Jesus s believers. The followers of satan and satan himself will be defeated once and for all and they
will all be cast into the lake of fire. The people who are found unrighteous by Jesus on the Great
White Throne will also be cast into the lake of fire. After these things people will live and know God

Not many sports are as physically demanding on the human body as football. The physical toll that
football players pay is almost impossible to comprehend unless one has actually played the sport
for a significant amount of time. However, until recently any connection between the hits taken by
football players and their health down the road was largely ignored. A common, yet difficult injury
to detect in football is a concussion, the most common traumatic brain injury. A concussion is
defined as a brain injury that is caused by a sudden blow to the head or the body. The blow shakes
the brain inside the skull, which temporarily disrupts the brain from functioning normally. Reports
and studies have surfaced shedding light on just how much damage is inflicted upon the brain due
to crippling hits. These studies suggest that NFL athletes who received concussions suffered lasting
damage to the brain, which opens the gate to a multitude of other health issues such as dementia,
Alzheimer s disease, and clinical depression .
Football is a violent and fast sport in which many injuries cannot be avoided. When proper
technique is used on a tackle the shoulder proceeds down and the head remains up. However the
upperbody of the runner goes down, and the head is lowered, which is the body natural response
when anticipating an impact. As the tackler moves forward his upperbody is also lowered to the

The Memory Of Memory And Memory
A fact that cannot be denied is that human beings rely on their memory a lot, not only to
remember special events or memorise facts that have been learned but also to recall processes and
routines executed on a daily basis. Memory can be defined as a system that processes information
in the mind, which consists of three stages; namely encoding, storage, and retrieval (Farlex Partner
Medical Dictionary, 2012). Encoding refers to the receiving and modification of an informational
stimulus so that it can be embedded in the memory. Storage is the next memory stage, in which
information is retained and kept available until it is needed again. Information is more likely to be
stored in the long term if it is continuously used and rehearsed. The... Show more content on

The oldest recorded example of a mnemonic device is the method of loci, which was created back
in the Ancient Greek era (Robson, 2011). This method involves visual imagery by relating new
information to specific locations in a familiar place to a person. When this association is
established, a person can recall the new information relative to the landmarks of the familiar
location. Besides that, chunking is also another type of mnemonic device, in which a large piece of
information is broken down into smaller chunks. A theory by Jacobs (1890), as cited in Holt Lewis
(2008), stated that the capacity of the short term memory is about 5 to 9 chunks. Therefore,
chunking lengthy information into smaller sections can help the human brain to encode more
information at a higher rate, so that they can be stored easily. Other mnemonic devices include
acronyms, keyword method, and narrative chaining.
Mnemonic devices have been proven to work very well for memory enhancement. The information
learned via mnemonic devices tends to be remembered better for a longer period as compared to
other memorisation techniques such as rote learning. Rote learning refers to a method of
memorisation based on repetition without fully understanding or focusing on what is being
committed to memory (Stevens Bernier, 2013). While most people believe that repetition is the
best way to remember information, the context of the

Betrayal is it right or wrong? Is it supporting your country, or turning against your friends? In

main characters and their decisions going forward. This coming of age movie takes place during
the height of Nazi Rule, where three swing kids named Peter, Arvid, and Thomas try to avoid
getting influenced by the Hitler Youth to become part of them, but as the movie continues,
Thomas and Peter end up becoming HJs, and Thomas is fully committed whereas Peter is forced

Thomas stays loyal to his friends in the beginning of the movie. However, because of the
behavior and personality that he has, it is hard to stick on one side for too long and he is easily
influenced and persuaded. Another scene in the movie was when Thomas and Emil fight in the
HJ school boxing ring. After Thomas says, Let s see how you do when you re not fighting a
cripple, he tries his hardest to fight for Arvid although Thomas betrayed him. With this in mind,
Thomas stands up for Arvid although he was the one without a real reason to join the HJs like
Peter. This is due to the fact of how Thomas is like a pendulum, always going back and forth
from side to side. Even though Emil does end up beating Thomas, he does get in the last words,

The Measuring Of Flow Volume Loops Essay
Introduction: The measuring of flow volume loops (FVL) in laboratory settings during exercise
are becoming increasingly popular to identify the limiting mechanics of ventilation (Johnson,
Beck, Zeballos Weisman, 1999a). The collection of a maximum flow volume loop (MFVL)
through a forced maximal maneuver at rest allows researchers to compare a baseline value with
tidal loops obtained during exercise (Johnson et al., 1999a). Dominelli and Sheel state that MFVL
provides information on an individual s capability to produce volume and flow with respect to
their mechanical ceilings (2012). Placing the respective tidal loops associated with different
exercise intensities within a resting MFVL shows the difference in volumes during exercise and
rest. An MFLV maneuver would yield the largest loop; whereas, the resting tidal loop would be the
smallest (Johnson, Weisman, Zeballos Beck, 1999b). Additionally, tidal loops during exercise will
fit somewhere between resting and maximal tidal loops; increasing in volume as intensity
increases; however, the loops still remain small in comparison to the MFVL (Johnson et al. 1999b).
This aforementioned trend observed in healthy individuals during increasingly intense exercise is
related to the lack of constraints on ventilation (Johnson et al. 1999b). Major factors responsible for
limiting ventilation at rest and during exercise are bronchodilation and bronchoconstriction; these
in turn affect total lungcapacity (TLC) a key measure with

The Effects Of Water Pollution On The World And It...
Water pollution is one of the most undesirable environmental problems in the world and it requires
solutions. Textile industries produce a lot of wastewater, which contains a number of contaminants,
including acidic or caustic dissolved solids, toxic compounds, and any different dyes, many of these
dyes are carcinogenic, mutagenic, and toxic to human beings, fish species, and microorganisms.
Hence, their removal from aquatic wastewaterbecomes environmentally important.
There are several methods available for color removal from waters and wastewaters such as
membrane separation, aerobic and anaerobic degradation using various microorganisms, chemical
oxidation, coagulation and flocculation, and reverse osmosis. Some of these techniques have been
shown to be effective however they have some limitations such as excess amount of chemical
usage, accumulation of concentrated sludge that has serious disposal problems and lack of
effective color reduction. The adsorption technique, which is based on the transfer of pollutants
from the solution to the solid phase, is known as one of the efficient and general wastewater
treatment method
The method is superior to other dye removal techniques in terms of initial cost, simplicity of design,
ease of operation, and non toxicity of the utilized adsorbents compared to other conventional
wastewater treatment methods.
The cost effectiveness, availability and adsorptive properties are the main criteria in selection of an

On Christmas Eve, families attend church together. Some children expect Father Christmas to
leave gifts, and others wait for Santa Claus to visit and deliver gifts. After opening presents on
Christmas morning, the family sits down to a breakfast of ham and eggs. Then the family goes to
church again. Christmas Day is when families and close friends gather together from all over
Australia. The highlight of the day is the holiday meal in the middle of the day.
Finally, one of my favorite parts about learning Australia Christmas, is that they have huge
bonfires at the end of the day. They get together and hang out, they tell stories to each other. Also
they gets laughs in, and play around making up time that they didn t get to spend with each other
over the past year or so. Christmas is one of my all time favorite holidays! Who wouldn t enjoy

Overpopulation Satire
Overpopulation is one of the biggest concerns of humanity s. Overpopulation is a drain on
natural resources, living space, opportunity, and the world at large. Mother nature cannot hope
to provide enough sustenance for the land. Overpopulation is about us human, we are the
smartest species on this planet after all; we make all the decision on this planet. At this world
we don t play by our own rules, we play with by the rule that Mother Nature has created for all
the species on the planet so we are all equal. Just take a look at an animal for example, like a tiger
in a forest it is not perfect, it dies. It might be of starvation, natural enemies or may be sickness, but
still, they die from the cruel rule mother natural have set for us. It means... Show more content on

If someone isn t strong enough to fight, or too scared of standing up, or even just too lazy to do
things for themselves, they will be eliminated. Let just let you something you might know, the

are weak left behind and forget. Society is a place it doesn t have room to contain people who
are weak, they are the dead weight for those who are stronger and better peoples. Eliminate them
will be more humane, we spend so much money, effort and resources to take care of the things
that shouldn t even be alive. Just like the tiger not fast enough left behind, not strong enough to
fight and get food left behind. Basically, there will be no room for those who are weak doesn t
want to try and fight back to rise up again, they will fend for themselves. Overpopulation is a
huge issue for the world that we never thought it would come to this point. Humans tend to be
like mice, having kids all the time. Just imagine if we could find a way to eliminate every person

General Description of Edwards SAPIEN XT Transcatheter Heart
Valve.
Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), or Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI),
is a relatively new surgical procedure to combat aortic stenosis. When the aortic valve gets
occluded from a congenital defect, or damage from
calcium or scarring ,1 blood cannot flow through the valve efficiently. This leads to decreased
availability of oxygenated blood to peripheral tissues, and can be harmful or even fatal to patients.
When the malformations of the valve reach a critical point in which the patient s health will be
significantly affected by the lack of proper blood flow,
TAVR is an effective choice to combat stenosis. According to a study done by Samir
Kapadia, MD, TF TAVR (trans femoral transcatheter aortic valve replacement) exhibits a 95.7
percent success rate. Thirty day mortality is limited to 0.4 percent, and stroke rate exhibited a 1.6
percent incidence rate. Follow ups after one year showed a mortality rate and stroke rate of 17.5
percent and 3.5 percent, respectively.2 This data implies that while TAVR is effective, the
procedure still has room to improve. The Edwards SAPIEN

To What Extent Is Lady Macbeth A Tragic Hero
A tragic hero is a character who does wrong for their benefit, but leads in a great downfall. There
are many tragic heroes in famous literature all over the world. These tragic heroes show their
flaws leading to a tragedy. In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, the main character
Macbeth is a tragic hero because of his wife, Lady Macbethmanipulating him and desire to
become king. Macbeth s selfish actions led to his tragic death. In the beginning of the play both
Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are good people who were honorable to their country, Scotland.
Macbeth was a true warrior that fought for King Duncan. Lady Macbeth was a lovable innocent
woman that supported her husband. After Macbeth hears the prophecies from the witches he
becomes curious about being King of Scotland. It is his wife, Lady Macbeth who sparks the idea
of killing King Duncan. Lady Macbeth planned on killing King Duncan herself in his sleep, but
could not: ...I laid their daggers ready; He could not miss em. Had he not resembled My father as
he slept, I had done t... (Act 2 Scene 2). If King Duncan did not look similar to Lady Macbeth s
father she would have killed him herself. Lady Macbeth manages to convince Macbeth to killKing
Duncan to get to his way to becoming king. She starts to intimate Macbeth by calling him a coward
since he starts to have second thoughts about the plan. Lady Macbeth knows Macbeth weakness
and how to use it against. She... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What is The Meaning of Free Will in Life Essay
Free will is the idea in which individuals can have the power of acting without the constraint of
necessity or fate, and this idea of free will served as a prevalent theme in Kurt Vonnegut s
Slaughterhouse Five. Vonnegut illustrates the absurdity of no free will in Pilgrim s world through
the book s nonlinear structure and unorganized plot. The novel is constructed as a series of
inconsistent flashbacks and future incidents through the eyes of the protagonist, Billy Pilgrim. Billy
Pilgrim is able to time travel to the past and future, but without any control over his peculiar ability.
He can constantly travels through any moment in time without controlling it. Instead of free will
existing, the notion of predestination and fate controlled... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Vonnegut states, Billy has gone to sleep a senile widower and awakened on his wedding day. He
has walked through a door in 1955, and come out another one in 1941. He has gone back through
that door to find himself in 1963. He has seen his birth and death many times, he says, and pays
random visits to all the events in between (23). Pilgrim is able to visit and revisit different
periods of time constantly without any influence or choice of his doing in the matter. Because
Pilgrim is able to see into the past and future, he cultivates unsympathetic feelings and is
indifferent, which shows that Pilgrim loses a sense of value of himself. He lacks passion in his
life as he does not truly appreciate everything and everyone he has. Having no free will would
persuade individuals to hold no motivation or determination in their lives because it would not
matter in a fate controlled world. Moreover, predestination and fate would take the place of free
will if it did not exist in the world. Believing that one s life is already decided for and planned
entirely would defeat the purpose of life as people would not be able to experience life due to
the choices they make and want. Knowing that an individual is destined to follow a particular
path in life without any chance to avoid or change it will change the person s outlook on life. In
the novel, Pilgrim married Valencia Merble even though he didn t love her and thought she was as

Greek Art Evolution
The evolution of Greek art has expanded over hundreds of years and has contributed to many
artistic developments, especially in sculpture. The depiction of the human figure has drastically
changed over time from an undeveloped form to a more detailed rendering. This transformation
can be seen from Early Bronze Age figurine models to Ancient Hellenistic sculptures. Examples of
early figurines are small with disproportionate and unusual bodies while much later sculptures are
large scale showing the importance of corrected bodily proportions. Tiny figures generally had the
same poses lacking facial and body definition details while later sculptures have exquisite, clear
facial features, and deeply chiseled bodies. The developments of sculptors overtime produced
advancements in Greek sculpture. This can be seen especially in certain sculpture subjects like
Greek athletics, mythology, political depictions, as well as scenes of tragedy or death. Athletic
Greek sculpture was an important way in which statues were intended to immortalize successful
athletes. The development of these statues became more realistic and idealized as time progressed,

Compared to earlier periods of Greek art, figures in sculpture were represented more static and
stoic. Pieces like figurines from the Early Bronze Age showed little to no movement, drama or

naturalistic representation. Hellenistic art shows natural raw qualities of deep movement that is
easier to see than in early Classical Greek sculptures and even earlier. By having a deeper
depiction of subject matter, there can be an increase in the storytelling aspect of these pieces.

Persuasive Essay On Graffiti
Since the birth of graffiti in the 1960 s many people were or are either thrown in jail, have to pay
a high fine in graffiti damages or are either asked to do graffiti in many museums and art
galleries because owners like the art they see and want others to see it too. Graffiti has been
around for some time now, most people and the police just see it as a form of destruction and not
art they should not just see it as something that is good or evil because these artists are expressing
themselves through this art and trying to spread a message. The United States and the U.K need to
accept the art and nature or meaning behind this graffitibecause it is a way for people to do good
things other than rob or go to jail it is also a way for people to get their message out and have
others hear them or see them in an artistic way.
Generally most people look and take graffiti as a form of destruction and wanting to cause
violence, but in the artist s mind they want to be creative and help the people around them by
making art to cheer someone up or create a sense of creativity in others. They don t do it to go to
jail or because they want to pay a fine they do it because they are open minded and creative. For
instance, A lot of attention is given to the broken window theory, which says that signs of
disorder like petty vandalism, fare jumping ... and yes, graffiti, open the window to larger
crimes, Verel told The Huffington Post. But little is paid to the ways graffiti is harnessed for
good in a form that s both constructive and authentic (Patrick Verel). They are taking this broken
windows theory too far and only saying it can cause bigger crimes. Some graffiti artists are trying
to uplift the neighborhoods and the people they live around with creative art. Also not all graffiti
is bad enough to want artists to commit a crime. While making this art or graffiti I don t think that
these artist are trying to harm the buildings in any way, but they should ask for permission if they
aren t allowed to be painting on these buildings. This is to let the owner of the building know that
they mean no harm to the environment or their workplace. For example, Adam Cooper, cultural

Elementary School Vs Middle School Research Paper
School is always extremely important in my town because it s a huge part of everybody s life. We
have 3 schools but 2 of them are really competitors, elementary school and middle school. The only
question is, which one is the best?
The first difference between my elementary and middle schools is the lunches. The lunches in
elementary school where short and the teachers didn t allow the kids to use forks. So, for
example, if you wanted to eat their pancakes, you needed to use a single spoon. However, in
middle school you get to choose what you want to use (except for knives) and choose what you
want to eat. There is a buffet style lunch line for food and you don t have to eat exactly what they
make for lunch.
The next difference is P.E. Both schools have very similar classes for this but they are still
different. For example you played much more fun games in elementary ... Show more content on

Every student had computer lab and art. Art was just art there was really nothing special about it
and computer lab was just learning how to type. Which, as you can imagine, both got extremely
boring after a semester. However, the middle school has a multitude of different classes and you
get to pick 2 that you want to take. For example, you can take band, chorus, art, photo shop,
horticulture, and a lot more.
Field day is the day at the end of the year where kids get to have fun and celebrate because the
year is over. However, the field days are not very similar at all. In the middle school you walk to
the park and mess around there for a few hours. This makes the day extremely boring and you
don t have any water so in the hot may day you are sweating a lot and have nothing to drink. The
elementary school, however, has a much better field day. You get to play on the blacktop or the
grass and they had jumping pits and WATER. At the time it was very fun and Definitely better than

Strategic Plan for Costco Wholesale Corporation
Executive Summary
The retail industry is an extremely competitive environment that poses many challenges for Costco
Wholesale Corporation and its competitors. Since many of the stores offer the same products, it
may sometimes be very hard for customers to differentiate between retail stores. Even though the
economy is recovering from a recession, the retail business is still a mature industry and is
improving very steadily. Costco and its competitors are affected by the same political, economic,
social, and technological factors, such as taxes, presidential elections, SEC regulations, the
economic state of the country, exchange rates, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From a political standpoint, one of the biggest external factors affecting corporations in the
retail industry is taxes. The United States corporate federal income tax rate is one of the highest
in the world, in which companies have to pay 35% in taxes on income over $18,333,333.
(Greenstein, Rogoff, Olsen, amp; Co., LLP, CPA s) Firms in this industry would like to see
corporate taxation decrease so that the company is able to have a higher net income. It is
uncertain if the corporate tax rate will increase or decrease; however, presidential candidate Mitt
Romney says that he is planning on offering a corporate tax cut to encourage businesses to
increase operations in the United States than overseas. The nation will just have to wait and see if
this becomes reality. A higher net income could potentially mean more earnings per share and
more dividends distributed to shareholders. Not only are retail companies affected by taxes in the
United States, they are also affected by export and import taxes on goods produced and sold
throughout the world. Costco owns a number of subsidiary companies, such as Price Enterprises,
Inc. and Shinsegae Department Store Co, which is located in Korea and subject to foreign taxation
rates. Costco, as well as its retail competitors, would like to see a decrease in foreign taxation rates
so that they re able to generate a higher net income from their foreign subsidiaries. Another political
factor that affects

Wesleyan Quadrilateral Analysis
Wesleyanism derives from theology based upon the views of John Wesley, founder of Methodism.
The main themes of Wesley s theology are based on his letters, diaries, and journal. His sermons
and commentaries on the Bible, books, pamphlets, and the collections of hymns that he and his
brother Charles produced also had a great impact on Methodism. These memorabilia reveal a rich
collection of insights about John Wesley s viewpoints of Christianity, his personal life and activities,
and the origin and development of the early Methodist movement and its mission. After examining
the corpus of Wesley, Albert Outler, a 20th century American Methodist theologian and philosopher,
coined the phrase Wesleyan Quadrilateral. The Wesleyan Quadrilateral affirms four valid sources of
theology: scripture, reason, tradition and experience. Scripture is considered the primary source
and standard for Christian doctrine. Tradition is experience and the witness of development and
growth of the faith through the past centuries and in many nations and cultures. Experience is the
individual s understanding and appropriating of the faith in the light of his or her own life. Through

Workforce injury or death In the construction business, health and safety is the most concerning
risk. Working on construction site is very physically demanding job and also very dangerous. There
are many sources of potential danger from injuries caused by working with the tools/material

heights, slips from scaffolding, electrocutions, falling objects, explosions, overexertion, vehicle
related accidents... пѓ To control these risks, safety standards have to be met at all times and
monitored frequently. All employees should be trained and informed about Health Safety
standards; supervisors have to be responsible for ensuring safety measures are in place on every
construction site and if something goes wrong, they should be held accountable. Accident and
injury rates should be carefully monitored on regular basis. Examples of simple but crucial
safety rules include: work areas should be clear of obstructions; slippery surfaces should be
reported immediately; safety net should be installed to prevent objects from falling on workers;
all workers should be provided with electrical safety training; visibly mark the area for vehicles

demonstrate that Ariel is Prospero s personal slave, but is trying to get freedom, he is close to
his goal as gold is a weak metal that can be broken easily. Within the character s eyes, bird is
written inside to signify the character s ultimate desire to be free in the wild just as how birds can
fly freely. Ariel also stands on top of welcome mat to show the character s peaceful nature that
makes him beloved by his master. Prosperos hand is being held by Ariel s hand to show the strong

Prospero states, Why, that s my dainty Ariel. I shall miss thee, [but] yet thou shalt have freedom.
So, so, so. To the king s ship, invisible as thou art. The quote takes up the final words of Prospero
to Ariel in that Ariel has gained freedom, which has been the character s ultimate goal throughout
the play. Then in Act 4, Scene 1, Ariel sates, Before you can say Come and Go, And breathe twice
and cry So, so! Each one, tripping on his toe, will be here with mop and mow. Do you love me,
master, no? Ariel is wanting his master s approval stating that he is loyal person who wants to

Act 1, Scene 2 in which Caliban is called, Thou liest, malignant thing! Hast thou forgot. The foul

shows the Caliban has been lying about his position in the island, this is a part of his evil

Indian Nationalism
IIndian nationalism
Indian nationalism refers to the many underlying forces that molded the Indian independence
movement, and strongly continue to influence the politics of India, as well as being the heart of
many contrasting ideologies that have caused ethnic and religious conflict in Indian society. Indian
nationalism often imbibes the consciousness of Indians that prior to 1947, India embodied the
broader Indian subcontinent and influenced a part of Asia, known as Greater India.
National consciousness in India
India has been unified under many emperors and governments in history. Ancient texts mention
India under emperor Bharata and Akhand Bharat, these regions roughly form the entities of modern
day greater India. Mauryan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More than just Indian
Indian nationalism is as much a diverse blend of nationalistic sentiments as its people are ethnically
and religiously diverse. Thus the most influential undercurrents are more than just Indian in nature.
The most controversial and emotionally charged fiber in the fabric of Indian nationalism is
religion. Religion forms a major, and in many cases, the central element of Indian life. Ethnic
communities are diverse in terms of linguistics, social traditions and history across India.
Hindu Rashtra
An important influence upon Hindu consciousness arises from the time of Islamic empires in India,
during which many Hindu temples were destroyed and Hindus forcibly converted to Islam, and
millions of Hindus killed by Muslim invaders. Entering the 20th century, Hindus formed over 75%
of the population and thus unsurprisingly the backbone and platform of the nationalist movement.
Modern Hindu thinking desired to unite Hindu society across the boundaries of caste, lingustic
groups and ethnicity. In 1925, K.B. Hedgewar founded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in
Nagpur, Maharashtra, which grew into the largest civil organization in the country, and more
potent, mainstream base of Hindu nationalism.
Vinayak Damodar Savarkar coined the term Hindutva for his ideology that described India as a
Hindu Rashtra, a Hindu nation. This ideology has become the

Carotid Palpation
Introduction
Most endurance trained athletes and participants in a group exercise class monitor their exercise
intensity through palpation of the carotid or radial artery. Heart rate (HR) is used as an indictor of
exercise intensity because of the linear relation between HR and oxygen consumption (Cotton Dill,
1935). The researchers of this study have decided to use pule rate palpation to monitor exercise
intensity because the procedure is described in many textbooks and it is common in various
exercise settings (American Collage of Sports Medicine, 2000). However most chronic
exercisers have a rapid recovery of HR following the cessation of exercise, and therefore carotid
or radial palpation could underestimate exercise HR. Also, endurance trained individuals have a
greater arterial baroreflex sensitivity and are more responsive to carotid palpation. Therefore, the
palpation of the carotid artery may unload arterial baroreceptors and elicit feedback reductions in
HR (Heidorn McNamera, 1956). The primary aim of this study was to determine the accuracy of
carotid and radial palpation in estimating exercise HR and the effect of carotid palpation HR in
chronic exercisers. The secondary aim was to determine the association between the magnitude of
reductions in HR ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However for the results to be more meaningful and valid, a certified fitness trainer should have
taken the pulse rates. One study looked at the ability of certified fitness trainers and participants
to accurately palpate post exercise HR. The post exercise HR obtained by the trainers was 134 +
/ 38 bpm and the participants obtained 140 +/ 25 bpm (Garner Wagner, 2013). Having trainers
obtain pulse rates could avoid any bias from the participants; in other words, the researchers would
know that the pulse rates are accurate and not falsified or

Analysis Of J. Cole s The Album 2014 Forest Hill Drive...
J. Cole released his album 2014 Forest Hill Drive on December 9, 2014 without any features,
media marketing, or promotions (Berry). This album became significant within the music
industry because of how far it strays from the lyrical composition of popular rap artists of today.
Majority of rap artists in the 2000 s rely heavily on commercial producers and multiple artist
features to promote the popularity of their album. Rappers often do not stray far from crude,
sexual and misogynistic lyrics just to gain fame and cash flow for their label. As a hip hop artist,
J. Cole manages to gain more success than any rap album with no features. J. Cole writes an
honest, and nostalgic album that speaks further into his thoughts on current social issues and his
personal life story. He shines a light on his insecurities and gets his audience to feel a special
connection with him as an artist. J. Cole managed to create the only album in rap and hip hop
history to go platinum without any features while transcending development of pop culture within
the rap industry. Hip Hop developed as an urban underground movement during the 1970 s in South
Bronx, New York and when this subculture first surfaced, the terms hip hop and rap music were
used interchangeably (Ralph). Since the beginning of the genres, majority of music enthusiasts felt
more connected to rap, and it gained commercial popularity more rapidly. Hip hop remained
underground, and artists like J. Cole were hardly recognized by

Large Trailer Analysis
Unfortunately, collisions involving large trucks and passenger vehicles are all too common on the
roads throughout North Carolina. In fact, the state s Department of Transportation reported that
there were more than 3,400 accidents involving semitrailers in 2013 alone. Due to the size
differences between the vehicles, such collisions often result in serious injuries, or death, for the
occupants of passenger vehicles. While not all trucking crashes can be avoided, there are steps
that drivers can take to reduce their odds of being involved in these types of accidents. Use
caution when passing It is obvious to most motorists that tractor trailers are much larger and longer
than the average passenger vehicle. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety points out

As a result, truckers may have to merge into the lanes to their left in order to make some right
turns. Drivers should be aware of this, and refrain from trying to squeeze in between these
vehicles and the curb or other automobiles. This may help avoid serious semitrailer accidents.
Avoid suddenly slowing or stopping According to the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, fully
loaded tractor trailers can weigh as much as 80,000 pounds. Due to their size and weight, these
vehicles require significantly more stopping distance than passenger cars, trucks and SUVs. In
ideal conditions, large trucks traveling at 55 mph need about 430 feet to stop. Consequently,
truckers may not be able to adjust and stop in time to avoid a collision if drivers suddenly slow or
stop in front of them. Thus, it is recommended that people be attentive to the road conditions and
take precautions to avoid unexpectedly stopping when driving in front of a semitrailer. Stay out of

Analysis Of The Poem Sahgal
Sahgal aptly suggests her faith and hope through the symbolic limbless beggar. The beggar, who
looks a great bone arch, more insect than animal , a monster ant with eyes glaring with
intelligence (13) is the reality many shudder to face. He is the living evidence of man s
inhumanity to man as he asserts his rights, his hands are chopped off by his land lord and he gets
no redress from the political leaders who are all land lords at heart. The mutilation does not
intimidate his spirit and he remains a fearless fighter for freedom. When Nishi s servants try to
drag him to the vasectomy camp, he thrashes out, handless and crippled though, and flings himself
out of their reach. Ironically, Rose, who warms him day after day to be... Show more content on

There are, still a few occasions when the reader is force fed with facts. For instance, Sonali s
grandfather s account of his mother s murder in the name of Sati running to nearly twenty pages
(119 to 136) sounds more like a scholarly dissertation on a subject of sociological importance
rather than an authentic rendering of a personal tragedy. The long quotations from the Bombay
courier or the List of Hindoo Widows immolated no doubt establish the veracity of the information
given about Sati but the episode loses a degree of its impetus and ceases to grip the reader. The
novel Rich Like Us, shows that the Sahgal has grown enormously both in her awareness of the
manifestation of human relationship, and sophistication of the presentation of her thematic
concerns. In this novel, Sahgal copes effectively with the portrayal of what is wrong with the
contemporary society, with the delineation of the moral dilemmas as well as with the aesthetic
difficulties of conveying a positive message of action in the fictional format. What Nayantara Sahgal
does in Rich Like Us is to highlight the need for intellectual and practical action to bring about
efficacious changes in the contemporary society. In this age of ours, where in the midst of hectic
activity, technical turmoil and jet travel the basic passivity of men prevails Rich Like Us, an

Impact of Geography in Richard Russo s Novels Essay

individuals in a small town environment. In Empire Falls, Miles Roby and his family have

College has always been a part of my life plan. From the time I was a little girl, I dreamed about
what it would be like to walk across that stage with a degree in my hand. Sadly, this isn t the case
for some. To many potential students, the idea of going to school is one that they dream about, but
never take the steps to achieve and the reason boils down to one simple thing cost. While
community collegeisn t the most expensive option out there, it can still get extremely pricey, I
know from experience. This seems like it s a personal problem, but in fact, it should be a state

While it s obvious that the costs of education will increase on the part of the state, the outcome
will counterbalance that cost in a rather simple way. Educated people, usually, leave school and
enter higher paying jobs (Los Angeles Times). This, alone, will greatly affect the economy in a
positive way. It will increase the number of people stimulating the economy by buying higher
ticket items (like houses, cars, etc.) and help keep the population out of debt. Studies also suggest
that attending a community college increases the chances of a student attending another college to
complete higher level degrees (USA Today College). More than likely, that student will be paying
to attend that college, which is a payment straight to the government. Having more educated
workers will also decrease the number of people on government assistance programs (The
American Prospect). Because people are working better jobs with higher incomes, the chances of
them having to sign up for programs like Welfare and MediCal are greatly reduced. There are also
studies that suggest that educated people tend to be healthier, which will give the state a healthier
population (Global Partnership for Education) as well as lower the costs put into government funded

  • 2. Misinformant And Misreading Ian Mcewan s Atonement Misinformant and Wrongful conclusions In his essay Who Killed Robbie and Cecilia? Reading and Misreading Ian McEwan s Atonement Martin Jacobi argues the role of misreading in Ian McEwan s Atonement and the consequences of misreading and reading with preconception. Misreading is the incorrect or misinterpretation of a reading. In McEwan s Atonement misreading is a key concept that allows Ian McEwanto persuade readers into believing situations and conclusions that are not confirmed. Jacobi s main argument examples focuses on the misreading and interpretation of two main characters deaths, Robbie and Cecilia. The misreading in Atonement causes readers to believe they are dead even though it is not confirmed. Jacobi further argues that along with misreading reading with preconceptions also leads to misinterpretation, that when we read we have preconceptions about the novelwhich leads to assumptions about what will occur. (Jacobi 71) While Jacobi argues the negative of having preconceptions about a novel, having knowledge and information about a novel and the author can be beneficial when trying to understand the novel and the why in the novel. Knowing information about when the novel is set, what was happening during this time can be useful for understanding as well as useful for avoiding misreadings. Although I agree with Jacobi s argument that misreading and reading with preconceptions can lead to misinterpretation and wrong conclusions, I do believe that having ... Comedy in I Henry IV and II Henry IV In I Henry IV and II Henry IV, William Shakespeare brings together drama and comedy to create two of the most compelling history plays ever written. Many of Shakespeare s other works are nearly absolute in their adherence to either the comic or tragic traditions, but in the two Henry IV plays Shakespeare combines comedy and drama in ways that seem to bring a certain realism to his characters, and thus the plays. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (II Henry IV, II. iv. 113 122) The scene is filled with bawdy references and second meanings, meanings which the audience would undoubtedly find uproarously funny. Hal, too, often speaks this language of the lower classes, especially when chiding Falstaff: These lies are like the father that begets them gross as a mountain, open, palpable. Why, thou clay brained guts, thou knotty pated fool, thou whoreson obscene greasy tallow catch (I Henry IV, II. iv. 224 227). The language Shakespeare uses in the tavern scenes is certainly different from the more solemn and courtly language found in the plays more dramatic moments, as in Hal s gallantry towards Hotspur upon the latter s death: Prince. But let my favors hide thy mangled face; And, even in thy behalf, I ll thank myself For doing these fair rites of tenderness Adieu, and take thy praise with thee to heaven. Thy ignominy sleep with thee in the grave, But not remembered in thy epitaph. (I Henry IV, V. iv. 95 100) The differences in styles of language truly brings alive the plays various characters, from the lowliest drawer to the noblest knight. The playwright s audience would have been composed of a similarly diverse spectrum of society, from the groundlings at the foot of the stage, to the members of the court in attendance, and these disparate members of the audience might very well have come away from the plays with different interpretations of ... Bismarck was the first chancellor of this new country as Bismarck had changed 39 smaller states, into one large industrial power. The unification of Germany had a large impact on the balance of powers in Europe. Bismarck dominated Germanyand European politics for nearly 30 years. However some historians argue that Bismarck was only this successful and powerful because of circumstances out of his control. Nationalism and liberalism were rising as an ideology, the decline of Austria had an effect and 1848 was nicknamed as a year of revolutions due to the amount of revolutions that took place also factored in, but at the heart of all these is Bismarck s use of deception and realpolitik and manipulating situations to his advantage. The traditional belief that Bismarck unified Germany because of the wars with France Austria and Denmark. Although these are important in the grand scheme of unifying Germany. For Bismarck to provoke these wars and turn them into his advantage, foundations had to be laid to support these actions other factors had been in place to support Bismarck and his belief for a unified Germany. Instead they are a Biblical interpretation that divides the history of mankind into seven different categories. There are different versions or interpretations of the seven dispensations, but I will explain the general understanding that is commonly accepted. The seven dispensations are: the dispensation of innocence, the dispensation of conscience, the dispensation of human government, the dispensation of promise, the dispensation of law, the dispensation of grace, and the millennial kingdom of Christ. The first dispensation, innocence, begins with the creation of man (Genesis 1:27) and ends with the fall of man (Genesis 3). This dispensation is called innocence because Adam, the first man, was created innocent and without knowledge of good and evil. Adam was given the authority to rule over everything of the earth, under one condition: Adam and Eve must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.... Not many sports are as physically demanding on the human body as football. The physical toll that football players pay is almost impossible to comprehend unless one has actually played the sport for a significant amount of time. However, until recently any connection between the hits taken by football players and their health down the road was largely ignored. A common, yet difficult injury to detect in football is a concussion, the most common traumatic brain injury. A concussion is defined as a brain injury that is caused by a sudden blow to the head or the body. The blow shakes the brain inside the skull, which temporarily disrupts the brain from functioning normally. Reports and studies have surfaced shedding light on just how much damage is inflicted upon the brain due to crippling hits. These studies suggest that NFL athletes who received concussions suffered lasting damage to the brain, which opens the gate to a multitude of other health issues such as dementia, Alzheimer s disease, and clinical depression . Football is a violent and fast sport in which many injuries cannot be avoided. When proper technique is used on a tackle the shoulder proceeds down and the head remains up. However the upperbody of the runner goes down, and the head is lowered, which is the body natural response when anticipating an impact. • 14. The Memory Of Memory And Memory A fact that cannot be denied is that human beings rely on their memory a lot, not only to remember special events or memorise facts that have been learned but also to recall processes and routines executed on a daily basis. Memory can be defined as a system that processes information in the mind, which consists of three stages; namely encoding, storage, and retrieval (Farlex Partner Medical Dictionary, 2012). Encoding refers to the receiving and modification of an informational stimulus so that it can be embedded in the memory. Storage is the next memory stage, in which information is retained and kept available until it is needed again. Information is more likely to be stored in the long term if it is continuously used and rehearsed. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The oldest recorded example of a mnemonic device is the method of loci, which was created back in the Ancient Greek era (Robson, 2011). This method involves visual imagery by relating new information to specific locations in a familiar place to a person. When this association is established, a person can recall the new information relative to the landmarks of the familiar location. Besides that, chunking is also another type of mnemonic device, in which a large piece of information is broken down into smaller chunks. A theory by Jacobs (1890), as cited in Holt Lewis (2008), stated that the capacity of the short term memory is about 5 to 9 chunks. Therefore, chunking lengthy information into smaller sections can help the human brain to encode more information at a higher rate, so that they can be stored easily. Other mnemonic devices include acronyms, keyword method, and narrative chaining. Mnemonic devices have been proven to work very well for memory enhancement. The information learned via mnemonic devices tends to be remembered better for a longer period as compared to other memorisation techniques such as rote learning. Rote learning refers to a method of memorisation based on repetition without fully understanding or focusing on what is being committed to memory (Stevens Bernier, 2013). • 16. The Measuring Of Flow Volume Loops Essay Introduction: The measuring of flow volume loops (FVL) in laboratory settings during exercise are becoming increasingly popular to identify the limiting mechanics of ventilation (Johnson, Beck, Zeballos Weisman, 1999a). The collection of a maximum flow volume loop (MFVL) through a forced maximal maneuver at rest allows researchers to compare a baseline value with tidal loops obtained during exercise (Johnson et al., 1999a). Dominelli and Sheel state that MFVL provides information on an individual s capability to produce volume and flow with respect to their mechanical ceilings (2012). Placing the respective tidal loops associated with different exercise intensities within a resting MFVL shows the difference in volumes during exercise and rest. An MFLV maneuver would yield the largest loop; whereas, the resting tidal loop would be the smallest (Johnson, Weisman, Zeballos Beck, 1999b). Additionally, tidal loops during exercise will fit somewhere between resting and maximal tidal loops; increasing in volume as intensity increases; however, the loops still remain small in comparison to the MFVL (Johnson et al. 1999b). This aforementioned trend observed in healthy individuals during increasingly intense exercise is related to the lack of constraints on ventilation (Johnson et al. 1999b). Major factors responsible for limiting ventilation at rest and during exercise are bronchodilation and bronchoconstriction; these in turn affect total lungcapacity (TLC) a key measure with ... Textile industries produce a lot of wastewater, which contains a number of contaminants, including acidic or caustic dissolved solids, toxic compounds, and any different dyes, many of these dyes are carcinogenic, mutagenic, and toxic to human beings, fish species, and microorganisms. Hence, their removal from aquatic wastewaterbecomes environmentally important. There are several methods available for color removal from waters and wastewaters such as membrane separation, aerobic and anaerobic degradation using various microorganisms, chemical oxidation, coagulation and flocculation, and reverse osmosis. Some of these techniques have been shown to be effective however they have some limitations such as excess amount of chemical usage, accumulation of concentrated sludge that has serious disposal problems and lack of effective color reduction. The adsorption technique, which is based on the transfer of pollutants from the solution to the solid phase, is known as one of the efficient and general wastewater treatment method The method is superior to other dye removal techniques in terms of initial cost, simplicity of design, ease of operation, and non toxicity of the utilized adsorbents compared to other conventional wastewater treatment methods. Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), or Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), is a relatively new surgical procedure to combat aortic stenosis. When the aortic valve gets occluded from a congenital defect, or damage from calcium or scarring ,1 blood cannot flow through the valve efficiently. This leads to decreased availability of oxygenated blood to peripheral tissues, and can be harmful or even fatal to patients. When the malformations of the valve reach a critical point in which the patient s health will be significantly affected by the lack of proper blood flow, TAVR is an effective choice to combat stenosis. The depiction of the human figure has drastically changed over time from an undeveloped form to a more detailed rendering. This transformation can be seen from Early Bronze Age figurine models to Ancient Hellenistic sculptures. Examples of early figurines are small with disproportionate and unusual bodies while much later sculptures are large scale showing the importance of corrected bodily proportions. Tiny figures generally had the same poses lacking facial and body definition details while later sculptures have exquisite, clear facial features, and deeply chiseled bodies. The developments of sculptors overtime produced advancements in Greek sculpture. Persuasive Essay On Graffiti Since the birth of graffiti in the 1960 s many people were or are either thrown in jail, have to pay a high fine in graffiti damages or are either asked to do graffiti in many museums and art galleries because owners like the art they see and want others to see it too. Graffiti has been around for some time now, most people and the police just see it as a form of destruction and not art they should not just see it as something that is good or evil because these artists are expressing themselves through this art and trying to spread a message. The United States and the U.K need to accept the art and nature or meaning behind this graffitibecause it is a way for people to do good things other than rob or go to jail it is also a way for people to get their message out and have others hear them or see them in an artistic way. Generally most people look and take graffiti as a form of destruction and wanting to cause violence, but in the artist s mind they want to be creative and help the people around them by making art to cheer someone up or create a sense of creativity in others. They don t do it to go to jail or because they want to pay a fine they do it because they are open minded and creative. For instance, A lot of attention is given to the broken window theory, which says that signs of disorder like petty vandalism, fare jumping ... and yes, graffiti, open the window to larger crimes, Verel told The Huffington Post. But little is paid to the ways graffiti is harnessed for good in a form that s both constructive and authentic (Patrick Verel). They are taking this broken windows theory too far and only saying it can cause bigger crimes. Some graffiti artists are trying to uplift the neighborhoods and the people they live around with creative art. Also not all graffiti is bad enough to want artists to commit a crime. While making this art or graffiti I don t think that these artist are trying to harm the buildings in any way, but they should ask for permission if they aren t allowed to be painting on these buildings. • 36. Wesleyan Quadrilateral Analysis Wesleyanism derives from theology based upon the views of John Wesley, founder of Methodism. The main themes of Wesley s theology are based on his letters, diaries, and journal. His sermons and commentaries on the Bible, books, pamphlets, and the collections of hymns that he and his brother Charles produced also had a great impact on Methodism. These memorabilia reveal a rich collection of insights about John Wesley s viewpoints of Christianity, his personal life and activities, and the origin and development of the early Methodist movement and its mission. After examining the corpus of Wesley, Albert Outler, a 20th century American Methodist theologian and philosopher, coined the phrase Wesleyan Quadrilateral. The Wesleyan Quadrilateral affirms four valid sources of theology: scripture, reason, tradition and experience. Scripture is considered the primary source and standard for Christian doctrine. Tradition is experience and the witness of development and growth of the faith through the past centuries and in many nations and cultures. • 45. Carotid Palpation Introduction Most endurance trained athletes and participants in a group exercise class monitor their exercise intensity through palpation of the carotid or radial artery. Heart rate (HR) is used as an indictor of exercise intensity because of the linear relation between HR and oxygen consumption (Cotton Dill, 1935). The researchers of this study have decided to use pule rate palpation to monitor exercise intensity because the procedure is described in many textbooks and it is common in various exercise settings (American Collage of Sports Medicine, 2000). However most chronic exercisers have a rapid recovery of HR following the cessation of exercise, and therefore carotid or radial palpation could underestimate exercise HR. Also, endurance trained individuals have a greater arterial baroreflex sensitivity and are more responsive to carotid palpation. Therefore, the palpation of the carotid artery may unload arterial baroreceptors and elicit feedback reductions in HR (Heidorn McNamera, 1956). The primary aim of this study was to determine the accuracy of carotid and radial palpation in estimating exercise HR and the effect of carotid palpation HR in chronic exercisers. To many potential students, the idea of going to school is one that they dream about, but never take the steps to achieve and the reason boils down to one simple thing cost. While community collegeisn t the most expensive option out there, it can still get extremely pricey, I know from experience. This seems like it s a personal problem, but in fact, it should be a state problem. Free community college in California will not only be a great benefit to potential students, but to the state economy and government, as well as the local... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While it s obvious that the costs of education will increase on the part of the state, the outcome will counterbalance that cost in a rather simple way. Educated people, usually, leave school and enter higher paying jobs (Los Angeles Times). This, alone, will greatly affect the economy in a positive way. It will increase the number of people stimulating the economy by buying higher ticket items (like houses, cars, etc.) and help keep the population out of debt. Studies also suggest that attending a community college increases the chances of a student attending another college to complete higher level degrees (USA Today College). More than likely, that student will be paying to attend that college, which is a payment straight to the government. If a Jumpmaster fails any portion of his/her duties, that is lives of young Paratroopers at stake. Or should we place only people with college degrees in these jobs (Commissioned Officers), In which the majority have proven a level of maturity? The article clearly stated that the accident was not due to an equipment malfunction, but failure of the Sergeant. Why did he not take the hard right over the easy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
