Whole Foods Market
(i) Environmental Analysis External Opportunities and Threats
The demographic, economic and the socio cultural segments would be the most relevant segments to
Whole Foods Market. These segments have a direct impact on the profitability, sustainability and
survivability of Whole Foods Market, and the organic food industry. The relevance of the
demographic segment stems from the fact that the age structure, income distribution and population
size are important factors which will influence the demand for organic products. The economic
segment is relevant, as an affluent population will continue to drive and sustain demand for organic
products. The socio cultural segment is another relevant segment, where attitudes about quality of life,

Given that the organic foods industry is a rapidly flourishing one with a huge potential for profits, this
would be an attractive industry to compete in. The high entry barriers, lack of substitute products and
the huge pool of potential consumers will certainly mean an immense potential of opportunities in an
industry that has just started to grow. Whole Foods Markets is in an excellent position to capture these
opportunities and this will be explained below.
(iv) Responses to Wal Mart s foray into the organic foods industry
Focus strategy on market penetration, using existing stores situated in prime locations
Whole Foods Markets has been able to reach out to its target markets through the prime geographical
locations of its stores. By further leveraging on these locations through the offering of more
customized organic products, Whole Foods will be able to penetrate the market deeper. Given that fact
that it has established the Whole Foods Brand in affluent communities, it will be in a better position
than Wal mart to widen its target market and to reach out to potential customers.
Increasing brand awareness, appeal and loyalty though a more aggressive advertising and public
relations campaign
By increasing brand awareness and image, the reputation of Whole Foods will be enhanced. This
would be critical in reaching out to potential customers, as well as retaining current customers. As
mentioned in the case, Whole Foods does minimal

Liberalism and Mercantilism
Liberalism and Mercantilism
International political economy is an important subdiscipline of international relation. It has three
main ideologies, Liberalism, Mercantilism and Marxism. In this essay there will be three parts, first
part is to demonstrate what the Liberalism and Mercantilism are on the perspective of international
political economy and then the second part is to compare and contrast these two ideologies of political
economy. At last, give a conclusion to the Liberalism and Mercantilism.
Liberalism
The liberal perspective on political economy is embodied in the discipline of the Western economics
(Gilpin, 1987). It emphasizes the individual interests, the freedom and the maximization of economic
benefit. Economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Liberalism thinks accumulation of military power and other powers reduces the economic efficiency.
Peace is more effective than war. The following table coming from Frederic shows the specific
difference between Liberalism and Mercantilism (1999).
| Mercantilism | Liberalism | The essence of relation between economy and politics | Politics decides
economic policy | Complete separation | The essence of international political economy | Struggle for
power | Cooperation | The role of the international system | Small to not exist | Promote Cooperation |
The conflict level in international political economy | High | Low to not exist | The essence of market |
Incomplete | Complete | Resource allocation | Less to not exist | Less to not exist | The role of the state
| Maximize | Minimize to not exist | Ownership | National or state control | Individual | Economic
behavior motivation | National expansion | Personal profit | Economic power | Nation | Individual |
Conclusion
Even through the most of viewpoints of Liberalism and Mercantilism are different, these two
ideologies of political economy have the value of existence respectively and are worth to research. In
addition, Liberalism and Mercantilism have their own advantage and disadvantage. When begin to
research them, people should have a critique view to accept their viewpoints. In summary, Liberalism

The s Night
The first thing I noticed about the Rift was that it looked like one of those sleep pods from sci fi
movies in the early 2000 s. The machine was sleek. A silver pod, with the outline of an opening barely
visible. Perfectly ordinary for such a device, but for some reason it sucked all the light out of the
room. The weight of what I was about to experience finally catching up to me. I will be able to see,
smell, and feel everything. Everything that happened in Elie Wiesel s night. I will see, smell, and feel
the holocaust through the eyes of Wiesel. Alright, uh, Yavin. Nice name. I m Mr. Hiraku. Are you
ready? the teacher asked, looking down at his chart for my name.
Yes sir. I answered, a bit shakily. I had used VR before for video games, but never for something so
important.
Alright. I m going to read you off some side effects involved with this experience. While participating
in the Night VR experience software, you may encounter some nausea, disorientation, and discomfort
due to the connectors. After using the Night VR experience software, you may encounter nightmares,
thoughts of suicide, depression, and other symptoms of PTSD. Would you like to continue with the
use of this VR software?
I hadn t known there was going to be so many side effects. But then again, it s to be expected. To
experience something only explainable as horrific, even through VR, is bound to leave something
behind.

Henri inspired other painters to seek authenticity, a quality that is combined with the validity of one s
first impression and personal experience, as well as the current emphasis on the truth. Modernization
carried an updated visual sense and the artists of Ashcan school and shaped viewers interest in unusual
modes of identifying New York City. The Ashcan School rebelled against skillful, finished portraits by
having the ability in restoring the outward appearances of individuals and instead celebrating the
creative process.
One way they were able to achieve through the 1905 Hester Street painting that celebrated the
scampering streets of urban life, as it displayed immigrant shoppers, curious onlookers, casual
strollers, and pushcart peddlers to represent citizens as of equal importance. The purpose was to
overlook the overcrowding, crime, and sheer poverty of the slums by creating a more colorful and
lively place that represented hope in the future. Yet she is also a type, both easily recognizable and
representative to isolate and define the terms of race, ethnicity, and class as he considered the nation s
democratic character and identity (Doss, 2002, p. 49). Another prime example they were able to depict
this was in The 1907 Eva Green painting, which main purpose was to reject the derogatory depictions

Overcoming Communication Barriers between Genders Essay
Roles of men and women
Of the many changes which have taken place in American society since World War II, one of the
greatest has been in the roles of men and women. Members of both genders have lived multiple roles
in the past, but these were generally established ones, such as men being the wage earners and women
the caregivers.
Communication followed largely defined cultural and societal norms. Usually, nuances in speech and
in body language could readily be interpreted. As Archie Bunker nostalgically sang in television s
quot; All in the Family, quot; quot;... and you knew who you were then; girls were girls and men were
men. quot;
Many of the roles have remained the same, but now they frequently are carried out by members ...

From childhood, many women are taught to smile and be pleasant to others. Smiles of good will,
interest, and encouragement by either men or women, however, can be interpreted as agreement with
what is being said. In conversation, it is necessary to be direct and honest as well, especially when a
smile does not signify agreement or approval.
Men often talk at women, not with them. One chaplain assistant NCOIC made a habit of periodically
bringing all members of the staff who were interested into a general conversation at a convenient
location in the office. Early in the morning, at random intervals, he introduced a question or comment
on a current event or another objective topic on which anyone would be able to contribute information
or an opinion. As the men and women of the staff shared the conversation, they grew to know and
respect each other and their backgrounds. They were more ready to offer their information and
insights on work related topics, and close teamwork throughout the staff developed.
A senior chaplain encouraged teamwork in his staff through frequent roundtable discussions of
assigned projects. This practice also ensured capturing the information and expertise possessed by
staff members other than the one who had the responsibility for the action.

Elizabethan Food
During the Elizabethan era various types of foods were eaten and extensive details were added to
these foods. Social classes also played a big role in what the rich or poor ate. Elizabethan meals were
eaten at a specific time during the day. Depending on the job, civilians ate at different a time or place.
People of this era usually ate three meals a day, which consisted of: breakfast, dinner, and supper.
Breakfast was eaten right after getting up in the morning. It was normally a small meal made up of
cold foods like leftovers, eggs, or bread and butter. But since breakfast was by definition eaten early,
those who did not rise early did not eat it. Farmers would only go to church services on Sundays
because they were usually very busy during the rest of the week, but others went daily to early
services. The Noble social class did not get up early enough to eat breakfast. Dinner was a mid day
meal that was eaten 11 am or 12 pm. Farmers would take their meal with them in a bag or have it
delivered to them. Craftsmen would close up shop and go upstairs to the home area, their wife would

The common person usually ate white meat that contained precious little meat, made of things like,
milk cheese, butter, eggs, bread, and pottages. These were sometimes derivative of fish, rabbit, or bird.
Killing larger game in the forest was considered poaching and was very dangerous. Gentry and rich
folks ate brown meats like: beef, venison, mutton, and pork. The poor also ate a lot more vegetables
than the rich that insisted on eating only greens that were fancily prepared. Peasants had easy access to
beef, pork, and other high end meats, but they couldn t afford to keep a lot of it for their personal
meals. They could make it just fine without fancy dishes eaten by their richer social class.
Nutritionists today would appreciate the peasant s simple

Symptoms Of Lyme Disease
Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is an infection that affects many parts of the body, including the skin, joints, and nervous
system. It is a bacterial infection that starts from the bite of an infected tick. The infection can spread,
and some of the symptoms are similar to the flu. If Lyme disease is not treated, it may then cause joint
pain, swelling, numbness, problems thinking, fatigue, muscle weakness, and other problems.
CAUSES
This condition is caused by bacteria called Borrelia burgdorferi.
You can get Lyme disease by being bitten by an infected tick. The tick must be attached to your skin to
transmit the infection. Deer often carry infected ticks.
RISK FACTORS
The following factors may make you more likely to develop this condition:

Sport Marketing Is A Way For Companies To Sell Goods And
Sport marketing is a way for companies to sell goods and services at sporting events such as football,
hockey and Nascar. With millions of viewers at these sporting events, it makes for a great place to
advertise for a company because they are sure to get some business from people who are intrigued by
some form of advertisement. These companies take a risk every time they spend money on
advertisement, it is a large investment so they could win it all and attract customers or they could lose
it all due to poor advertisement. Nietzsche talks about pushing oneself and others to go beyond the
normal range in effort into a realm that may result in great joy or great sorrow. (Malloy,Lang 2016)

He then goes on to explain how in our lives we need to experience some type of suffering, so that one
can overcome the situation and learn from the experience. Taking a risk can also benefit a person or
company, because as Nietzsche explains you could do the same ordinary thing over and over and play
it safe or you can take the risk and experience the failure but then once you experience success it is the
best feeling. If we do the same thing over and over again it becomes dull and unentertaining, so by
taking the risk its keeps you on the edge of your seat with a chance for either failure or success. Both

leaving him with a bogey, the same as Nietzsche. Upset, Bud remembered Aristotle s belief in the

Dueling In Germany Essay
Dueling may sound familiar among aristocratic men in 19th Century Germany, but is it a must to be
done when one men feel offended by another? Whether with bloodshed or not, dueling was seen by
society as the only way to ensure harmonious reconciliation between the men involved in a dispute
with each other (Frevet, 167). However, it is questionable as to whether dueling would result in the
superficial reconciliation if the cause was a serious provocation like adultery (Frevet, 176). In
addition, dueling was seen as a way to prevent war, promote self discipline as well as masculinity. As
the outcome, only those intellectually educated, or commonly distinguished as upper middle class and
aristocratic people, were allowed to duel because advocates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Drawing from the case of the duel in Kessin, Innstetten s settlement on his challenge to Crampas
weighed more on the substantial cultural norm at the time. This is evident when he conversed with his
lawyer, Wullersdorf, We re not just individuals, we re part of a larger whole and we must constantly
have regard for that larger whole, we re dependent on it, beyond a doubt. If it were a matter of living
in isolation, i could let it go (Fontane Chapter 27 ). As a man of divine honor and loyalty, for
Innstetten, the thought of ignoring society worried him more as it was seemingly unacceptable to live
against what is supposed to be done (Fontane Chapter 27 ). Also, by challenging Crampas to a duel,
Innstetten showed respect to the man that may not deserve it, as he put the both of them on the
principle of equality and so called fair chance, which was an existential guarantee for society s
satisfaction (Frevet 168). Consequently, the duel was not a result of grieve and revenge, rather of pride
and honor. Therefore, the norm society has made to attain amicable settlement among the conflicting
upper middle class men, thrusted these men to engage in

The Vampire Chronicles Vs. Twilight Saga
The Vampire Chronicles vs The Twilight Saga Do you prefer The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice or
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer? This question can lead into a huge argument due to the
opinions of who answers the question. A person can guess the answer by the age of the people. The
older generation would suggest The Vampire Chronicles because it tells the tale of the true vampires,
such as the human blood suckers that only comes out at night. While the younger generation would
suggest The Twilight Saga because it shows that vampires can be like regular people. Although there
are some major differences between The Vampire Chronicles and The Twilight Saga, the similarities
are shocking. For people who forgot or don t know about these two novels, these novels are about the
lives of vampires. The Vampire Chronicles (1976 2003) is by Anne Rice. Her novels are series that
tells the story of a French nobleman named Lestate de Lioncourt who transformed into a vampire in
the eighteenth century. The other novel series, The Twilight Saga, is by Stephenie Meyer. Her novel
series tells a story of a young ordinary female, Bella Swan, who falls in love with a vampire named
Edward Cullen. Both of these novel series has turned into the big screen including Interview with a

Summary Of Invisible Man, Hamlet, And Crime And Punishment
Out of all the books we ve read this year, in my opinion Invisible Man, Hamlet, and Crime and
Punishment did the best job of showing me what the world outside education was like. These books
do the best job because they depict very different lives from mine: they are narrated by men, one
African American, one Russian, and one Danish royalty three identities that I do not claim for myself.
If we re going to learn about the world, I might as well learn about worlds other than my own (which I
d say I m pretty familiar with). A common theme throughout the books I ve chosen is a problem with
the binaries society presents us, whether it be racial, moral or internal. The conflicts addressed in these
books often spring from a failure to find a balance, or an endeavor to find out where in the middle you
belong. Crime and Punishment is a prime example of the dangers of seeing in black and white.
Raskolnikov s existence is a grey area, because although he s a murderer, the reader is sort of rooting
for him. To me, Crime and Punishment is about the different tones morality can take. Raskolnikov is a
murderer, but to him, and maybe some of the readers, he is justified in his act. This crime doesn t
define him as a moral or immoral person, that is for the reader to decide. Sonya is a similar example of
the fluidity of morality, because she s a prostitute, but does so to help her family and also provides
crucial moral guidance to Rodya. Although I have no moral qualms with

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress...
Cognitive behavioural therapy is a combination of behavioural strategies and cognitive therapy
(Zayfert, 2006). Aaron T. Beck was the founder of cognitive behavioural therapy in 1963, initially his
work focused on depression. The basic principles of cognitive behavioural therapy are people s
thoughts, emotions and behaviours and all work together in a unified system (Curwen.B, 2000). B.
Curwen states: That thoughts can lead to emotions and behaviour; and that emotional disorders arise
from negatively biased thinking (which lead to unhelpful emotions and behaviours); and that
emotional disorders can be helped by changing such thinking (Curwen.B, 2000). Amy s problems

Amy does not consciously believe the counter evidence and dismisses it which feeds her core belief.
Amy s negative automatic thoughts cause Amy to fear danger, this is shown on lines 84 93, her
negative automatic thoughts cause Amy to become hyper vigilant. When out and about she constantly
looks out for danger, which is causing Amy to become anxious. Amy is avoiding driving as she feels
that it s not safe for her to drive, Amy has no counter evidence to support this thought. The accident
has changed Amy s original core beliefs, that the world is safe, she s loved and she has control. Her
negative thoughts, emotions and behaviours are maintaining the problem, causing a vicious circle. The
steps of cognitive behavioural therapy that Amy needs to change her core beliefs and negative
behaviour are taught in two main steps. The first stage of therapy is verbal technique, which will
attempt to teach Amy to cast doubt on her core beliefs, this is done by talking to the therapist about her
thoughts and feeling at that present time, this will help Amy make a connection herself about her
feelings and thoughts. The

Why Is It Important To Establish A Novel On A Rare And...
Some things are so meaningful to us that we do not have the courage to share it with other, and would
rather keep it our own secret. I believe that what Hazel means when she says there are books so
special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like a betrayal (Green 33), is that there
are books that some keep as possessions due to the fact that they are so rare and special for us that if
we were to tell anyone about it, everyone would eventually know about it. Letting people in on your
rare and special secret means telling people about your rare possession, which would no long be rare
as everyone would know about it. An Imperial Affliction holds a special place in Hazel s heart for

because he already knows what it feels like to battle cancer. One of the many reasons that Hazel feels

without dying. Anna, the main character in An Imperial Affliction, says that she is the side effect,

Impact Of Slavery On The Indian Ocean
Slavery in the Western Hemisphere has had an unmistakable impact on the the world and for those
who live in the United States of America, it s impact is still seen today. For the most part this impact
has been negative on the United States seeing as though it brought about immense racial tension
between blacks and whites which is still today, crippling the nation. This type of slavery did not allow
for upward mobility in the slave community. Seeing that Slavery across the Indian Ocean was not
based upon race, and more upon social class and sexuality, there was more of a sense of upward
mobility in the Indian Ocean slave trade than there was in the transatlantic slave trade which involved
more brutal treatment based upon race. Today, slavery is known as one of the most inhumane acts of
mankind. Slaves were brought over from their countries, mainly from the western and southern coast
of Africa, to work for the Europeans without pay. Not only were they without pay, they were brought
over in boats, packed on all decks of the ship in such a way that was comparable to a can of sardines.
Slaves were taken and shipped to countries in South America and North America, to work on
plantations to harvest plants such as, Tobacco, Cotton, Sugarcane, and Indigo. These slaves worked 20
hour days on these plantations and were rewarded with slave quarters which were in most cases in
unlivable conditions. No matter what state of health a slave was in, they were expected to work

Analysis Of The Movie The Things They Carried
The Actual War Scenario Vietnam War
The Things They Carried, is a novel based on the Vietnam War, and the book
reveals the truth of the war as the author remembers the war after twenty one years and
snows his guilt and emotions for the war. The Things They Carried, belongs high on the
list of the best fiction about any war... crystallizes the Vietnam experiences for everyone
and exposes the nature of all war stories.( New York Times, Book of the Century ). Tim
O Brien, the author of the book is both the narrator and the protagonist of the book. As,
he himself is present in the war and also tells different stories told by the member of the
alpha company. O Brien use of storytelling along with theme is the part of the book
which makes it more realistic and effective, which is the ultimate point and purpose of
the author.
O Brien believes that stories have immense power, they gain the attention of the audience and allows
them to confront and face with the situation together and share the experience. Telling stories returns
to narrative. For example, Mitchell Sanders the resident of the Alpha company and the storyteller tells
story consisting of myths to the specifics. The hearing of a sound in the jungle and shooting in own
foot by Rat Kiley, contends that truth and morality in a war story have little to do with accuracy. Rat
was not a reliable narrator and he cared for making the story alive and making readers feel to be

Australian Urbanisation Early 1900 s
The process of urbanisation is a central feature of Australian history. By 1900 over two thirds of
Australians were living in areas that were classified as urban. The growth of these cities was
encouraged by various factors; the interaction and engagement of economic, demographic, political
and social characteristics are definitely the key features that promoted the urbanisation of Australia.
However, with the development of Australia came problems that people living in cities had to face.
Environmental and health difficulties were to be over come in the city suburbs while economic
depression followed after a period of prosperity and progress.
Economic factors are fundamental in determining urban structure. Cities can be seen as a form ...

Unlike in Britain, urbanisation had stimulated the growth of industrialisation.
By the nineteenth century, Australia had a relatively affluent, well housed, well fed and a healthy
population. The first increase in population occurred in 1830 when a bounty system, to catch escaped
convicts, was introduced and immigration was assisted on a large scale. During the 1850 s the gold
rushes bought the next influx of immigrants and Australia s population more than doubled over a
period of ten years. In this time before 1860, population grew largely due to immigration rather than
natural increase. In most urban areas a higher rate of population or an increasing degree of
urbanisation may be gained through natural increase, from immigration or a sizeable movement from
rural to urban areas. In Australia it was a merging of these three factors that encouraged urbanisation.
Yet, over seas migration was the most important source of Australian metropolitan population growth,
followed closely by natural increase. Rural to urban drift of population was much less important,
except during the post gold rush periods. The demographic variables such as age structure, fertility,
mortality, and marriage rates were also of considerable economic, social and political significance,

Miseducation Of Laurry Hill Analysis
Lauryn Hill was born in South Orange, New Jersey and was the child of a teacher and computer
consultant. When growing up, Hill was always enamored by the arts and would compete in singing
competitions. After the age of 13, she met Pras Michel and Wyclef Jean , and the three formed the
band called the Fugees. The band would later go on to sell millions of album copies for the album The
Score. However, conflicts between the bandmates eventually led to the dissolution of the band. During
a hiatus, Hill took time off to focus on her pregnancy with her first child. During the pregnancy, Hill
felt inspired and began to write over thirty songs ranging from love experiences to conflicts in the
Fugees. From her experiences writing R B, gospel, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the track Doo Wop ( That Thing), Hill comments on self respect and how the issue of sex
dominates society. For instance with the lyrics, Don t think I haven t been through the same
predicament Let it sit inside your head like a million women in Philly, Penn It s silly when girls sell
their souls because it s in Look at where you be in, hair weaves like Europeans Fake nails done by
Koreans.Come again. Hill uses this line to show that women do not need to conform to Eurocentric
standards in order to be deemed beautiful by societal standards. With the line come again Hill is trying
to challenge women to be more than sexual objects and that women should remove the inorganic
beauty products. In Doo Wop, Hill tells men and women to avoid societal pressures and become
independent. For the track Doo Wop, the song starts with a piano, a deep bass, and a simple hip hop
beat. This sound sets the tone for the rest of the song because it intertwines classical, soul, and R B
music together. The intertwining of the different beats meshes well with the acapella style of singing
Hill uses in the song causing an earthy feel to the song. The vocals in the song are loud and powerful
which helps communicates the theme of self respect and

Torques Equilibrium, and Center of Gravity Essay
Torques equilibrium, and center of gravity
Introduction Torque is a quantitative measure of the tendency of a force to cause or change the
rotational motion of a rigid body. A torque is the result of force acting at a distance from an axis of
rotation. An essential thing to keep in mind is that the magnitude of the torque is equal to the product
of the forces perpendicular distance and magnitude.
Theory The magnitude of the torque (t) is found from the product of the force F and the perpendicular
distance from the axis of rotation to the forces line of action. When there is no net torque acting on a
stationary rigid body, the body will then be in static rotational equilibrium and there is no rotational
motion.

Case 2 (three known masses) Computation was done by placing the meter stick on the stand
suspending m1=100g at 30 cim, m2=200g at 70 cm position. M3=50g was the calculated mass for the
system to be at equilibrium. M1=100g and was at the 20 cm position and m2=200g while on the 60
cm position. Both the results and percent error of the experimental value were calculated.
Case 3 (unknown mass/balance principle) A known mass was compared with an unknown mass with
the use of the balance principle. With the meter stick on the support stand the unknown mass (m1) was
suspended near one end of the meter stick while the other stick was suspended with m2. Until the
meter stick was in balance its position was adjusted. The unknown mass was then removed in which
the actual mass was then determined by using a laboratory balance.
Analysis The experiment concluded that the center of gravity of the meter stick did not change
although the equilibrium was required to be re balanced once the masses were added. Depending on
the mass at one end the distance further away from the center changed. If the mass on one side was
greater than the mass on the opposite side the clamp from that side would have to move further away
from the center in order to recover the equilibrium. There was a slight percent difference when the
torque for both sides were calculated. The cause of this may have

Toads and Toads Revisited Comparison (Philip Larkin)
Toads and Toads Revisited are poems in Philip Larkin s collection that describes both the perks and
burdens of a work life. Larkin s view of work in Toads is seen as a heavy load whereas in Toads
Revisited , it is seen as something that keeps him occupied and helps him though life. Toads Revisited
was written after Larkin became a firmly established chief librarian of the Hull Library and he had no
further to go because he had already reached the top position. His attitude to work had undergone
subtle changes from eight years ago to Toads Revisited. In this poem, Larkin has managed to escape
from the monotony of his desk, perhaps during lunch or break. He takes a walk around the park where
he observes and sees more than he expects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The word starves between two underscores adds emphasis and that people go hungry but no one goes
through starvation. Larkin also does not hide the idea that his hard work goes to pensioners. The idea
of shouting stuff your pension! is a rather disrespectful thought towards elderly people, enhanced by
the exclamation marks. However, Larkin uses a quote from Shakespearean literature, the stuff that
dreams are made on from the Tempest, Act 4, Scene 1 spoken as part of Prospero s resignation speech
refers to a scenario can only be fantasised and wished. Stuff refers to the materials that go into
creating an illusion, not to the object of a wish. Regardless of his complains, Larkin understands and
knows that something toad like exists in him as well and squats within himself. Larkin s play on the
alliteration of h suggests the sound of heaving and heaviness. The toad in him will never allow him to
blag his way through getting all the things he wants in life. He is never going to be able to shake off
work because of this toad in him that drives him to continue doing mundane tasks every day. He
knows he will be constantly discontent and dissatisfied with his life. With one toad sitting on his life
and the other sitting inside him, Larkin states that the spiritual truth of either truth is embodied by the
other and that it is hard to lose either, when you have both. In Larkin s case, it was

Dan Sperber s Article The Future of Writing
In Dan Sperber s article The Future of Writing, he assesses the presence of writing and reading in our
society, as well as where it may lie in the future . He addresses the possible downfall of writing, the
prevalence that reading will hold in our society, as well as how our society will adapt and handle the
changes. He also covers the emergence of text to speech and speech to text technological advances,
the effects on society and how the disappearance of the two of them will never fully occur. Sperber s
main claim throughout the article is that writing, with the help of technology, may eventually cease to
exist, or at least be far less prominent . While writing has obtained a unique and prominent standing in
most places of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Sperber does stress that there is a strong difference between the writing and reading, and
their relationship with technology. While he states that writing may completely be taken over by
technology, the same could never be done to reading. Most particularly because the two are very
closely linked, yet writing could never exist without reading. The benefits that are present with writing
come mostly from reading, as well as with the fact that as you write, you read along with your words.
Though writing may be replaced at some point in time, reading can never be replaced despite the text
to speech technology.
In particular, he addresses the impact that technology could have, and like writing it involves both
speech and text, yet in the opposite order. This time technology would allow a person to listen to the
text be read to them rather than having to read it themselves. However, Sperber suspects that this is
much less likely than the latter, particularly because most people prefer to read and interpret on their
own. They typically also do not enjoy the voice of the computer, and it is much harder to follow,

Why Is A Starfish So Slow But Never Has Tiny Particles...
Why is a starfish so slow but never has tiny particles like algae and barnicles on it? The answer is
pedicellariae. Pedicellariae are the spikes on starfish. They engulf algae and barnicles before they can
attach to the starfish. We re designing a boat paint that is able to mimic the functions of pedicellariae.
Boat paint has been affecting aquatic habitats for thousands of years and counting. Scientists have
tried changing the ingredients but no matter what they try, species of animals have been harmed.
Many of us just leave the dirty work of choosing bottom paint for our vessel to our local boat repair
yard. This is a good choice, since most yards know just what type of paint is best. We should be aware
of available choices and what bottom paints are environmentally friendly. This would create a non
harmful way of keeping your boat bottom in good shape.
The year 2011 may be remembered as the year when sailors started thinking differently about copper.
After centuries of relying on toxic metals to ward off growth on the bottoms of boats, sailors are
awakening to a new era of environmental consequences, greater regulation, and breakthroughs in
science and paint technology. Generally, antifouling paints contain at least one biocide, an ingredient
capable of poisoning marine life that would cling to the hull, but getting these toxins to work usually
requires either friction or a chemical reaction. Florida has found 160 miles of estuaries contaminated

Throughout literary history, heroes are usually described as being good looking and tall. People who
are categorized as heroes need to have a distinguished courage and heroes are often rewarded for their
courageous and noble acts. A hero needs to be liked by the inhabitants of his or her country because he
or she committed a heroic act such saving a child who has fallen into a well. In many books, the
character with all of the heroic qualities is often the main character. Although some characters from

Sheltering Sky versus Blood Meridian Essay
Extreme circumstances bring about substantial changes in people. At least that is what Paul Bowles
and Cormac McCarthy seem to be saying in the writing of their respective books, The Sheltering Sky
and Blood Meridian. Both authors place their characters in difficult locations, dealing with difficult
people and expect them to emerge changed, for better or for worse. In The Sheltering Sky, Bowles
takes his American trio and places them in the desert lands of the African continent where the wide,
dry impossibly desolate terrain takes its toll on their minds and bodies. Likewise, McCarthy takes his
ragged bunch of marauders, most prominently the Kid, and has them wandering the massive expanse
of the untamed west. This convention of forced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both parties chance upon characters, both eccentric and dangerous, and all involved seem to get
themselves into the most impossible situations imaginable. Apparently the point Bowles and
McCarthy are trying to convey to the reader is that great change and substantial inner growth can only
come about through intense emotional stress and physical challenge.
Kit, in The Sheltering Sky, learns some very interesting things about herself through the course of our
travels with her. She starts out as Port s wife, a secondary character of sorts, afraid to voice her
opinions on virtually everything. We have the inside track on her thought s and feelings though, and

her marriage and identity. We get our first glimpse of her realization of these problems on her train

of her unhappiness and is the beginning of a downward spiral that takes her to the brink of insanity
and far beyond. We see the beginning of her growth in her encounter in the Fourth Class cabin of the
train when see comes in close contact with the miserable peasant folk and she realizes that aside from
their cultural differences she is no better than these simple folk and in some ways she is far worse. As

Canadian economy
In the international foreign exchange market, the Canadian dollar, Australian and New Zealand are
collectively referred to as resources currency (Issa, Lafrance Murray, 2006). The reason for this is that
the currency exchange rate changes are greatly influenced by the international commodity prices.

Major Blunders That You Have Seen Speakers Commit While
Major blunders that you have seen speakers commit while addressing an audience SPEAKING WITH
LOW ENERGY. Actually, this problem is not restricted solely to speakers. 80 90% of the speakers
that I observe do not expend enough energy. Hence, they come across as uninvolved, uninteresting,
and unenthusiastic NOT PREPARING ENOUGH Granted, many speakers don t know how to prepare
effectively other than preparing their media. Experienced speakers do plenty of research so that they
feel confident in their material and their ability to respond to any question the audience might throw at
them. Careful preparation is essential. The amount of time you spend on planning depends on your
situation, but it s a good idea to start early you can never ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Speaking Incoherently Even though we spend a significant part of the day talking to one another,
speaking to an audience is a surprisingly difficult skill, and it s one that we need to practice. If nerves
make you rush through a presentation, your audience could miss your most important points. Use
cantering or deep breathing techniques to suppress the urge to rush. If you do begin to babble, take a
moment to collect yourself. Breathe deeply, and enunciate each word clearly, while you focus on
speaking more slowly. Showing a Lack of Dynamism Another common mistake is to freeze in one
spot for the duration of your presentation. Some presenters feel most comfortable behind the podium.
Try to emulate great speakers like Steve Jobs, who moved purposefully around the stage during his
presentations. Avoiding Eye Contact Have you ever been to a presentation where the speaker spent all
of his time looking at his notes, the screen, the floor, or even at the ceiling? How did this make you
feel? Meeting a person s gaze establishes a personal connection, and even a quick glance can keep
people engaged. If your audience is small enough, try to make eye contact with each individual at least
once. If the audience is too large for this, try looking at people s foreheads. The individual may not
interpret it as eye contact, but those sitting around them will. RUSHING. Rushing

Theological Reflection Essay
Many weeks have passed since I last wrote about my theological perspective at length. I began the
class with lots of questions, and I do not believe I can say for sure that they have been answered, but I
can say that I am now at peace with the idea that some of my questions may not be able to be
answered in this life. It amazes me that I have been able to grow so much in such a short period of
time. The growing pains were great, but the reward was greater. I feel that I am in a much better place
in my life now. In the past few months, I have tried to reclaim some of the closeness to God that I feel
I have been missing. It has not been easy for me to give up control of my life. I have strong tendencies
to be in control of what goes on, so that I have some inclination of how to prepare to react. As a result
of learning to let go, I feel much less fearful of the future or my place in it. Not only has this class
helped me come to terms with the idea that I should not have total control over my life, but it has also
reminded me of things I had forgotten about. It truly left me pleasantly surprised with the content of
the class. I cannot lie, much of the curriculum contained information that I already had some
knowledge of, but that is only a result of my obsessive research in the pursuit of answers. However,
something that I appreciated greatly was the inclusion of the Apocrypha. Further, I appreciated that
verses from Apocryphal books were used in the same way that Canonical verses were used. This was
one of the biggest problems I had with the way Christianity has always been taught to me. Many
exclude the Apocrypha as if it does not even exist, much less as an original piece of the non canonical
Bible. This fact, colloquially stated, has always seemed sketchy to me. I was not even aware of its
existence until about a year ago. My foundations were shaken a little when I found out. I compare it to
finding out about a long held family secret. I could not find anything in what I read of the Apocrypha
to be too out there, so I did not understand why it was never mentioned in the first place. It seemed to
me that if they were so set on not mentioning it, there could be a whole array of other texts/writings
that

New Monarchies In Spain Essay
New Monarchies in France, Spain, and England? What were New Monarchies ? The Middle Ages
were the peak of the New Monarchs. These monarchies lasted from 1460 to 1550. The Roman Law
was used by the New Monarchs. This law is civil law. They proclaimed themselves the rulers of
countries, and had the power to create their own laws. In the years before the 17th century, the
monarchs did not have autocracy. These monarchs increased taxes on the nobles, and seized their land
when they were not cooperative. The monarchies power grew with the military revolution, which is
when the military plan changed causing the government to also change. The Church s power was
decreased by the monarchs. Monarchs also took out loans which caused an increment in debt. There
were three main monarchies: France, England, and Spain.
The French monarchy rose a few years after The Hundred Years War. The Valois dynasty rose with
King Louis XI in the 1460s. He was king from the years of 1461 to 1483. He was brutal towards the ...

The king ruled from 1478 to 1516, and the queen ruled from 1474 to 1504. The Reconquista was
attained in the year of 1492. The Reconquista wanted to make Spain fully Christian by getting rid of
the Jews and Moors. The Muslims gave in to the Reconquista. The middle class of Spain sharply
decreased after they removed the Jews and Moors. Around 165,000 Jews were removed and many of
them went to northern Europe, Turkey, and North Africa. The Hermandades helped the royal authority
with the cities and opposed to nobles. The Queen Isabella created the Spanish Inquisition. The
authority of the Inquisition was give to the Church, and it was supervised by Tomas de Torquemada.
Jews were a main target of the Inquisition and 4,000 of them were killed because they did not leave
when they were told to. The Church s Inquisition was stopped in the 1500s by Ximenes

Usfk General Order To The Rangers Case Analysis
(4) It is clear the information regarding the application of the USFK General Order to the Rangers was
disseminated to the company. It is also apparent that CPT Jorgensen had at least some knowledge of
this fact. At some point there was serious consideration by CPT Ferriter to call MG Deedrick to ask
for an exception to policy for his men to cover the weekend, particularly because there was an MWR
ski trip planned for Friday 11 MAR 16. CPT Ferriter eventually decided it was not prudent to make
that request and never asked MG Deedrick for the exception.
(5) It appears a second officer in the Company, the FSO 1LT Finlay, was also confused as to the
application of the policy to the B Co Rangers for weekend. In his statement (Exhibit 11) ... Show more

Although 1SG Mortensen was in the room with CPT Ferriter during the phone calls he was not able to
hear anything CPT Jorgensen said, nor is he able to confirm or deny that CPT Jorgensen lied to CPT
Ferriter (Exhibit 10).
(6) Due to the lack of substantiating evidence or corroborating witness testimony, I am unable to
conclude that CPT Jorgensen committed the act of lying to a superior Officer. It is the opinion of this
investigator that the situation was more a result of miscommunication and lack of details at the time of
the calls, coupled with CPT Jorgensen s hung over and exhausted state, than that of an intentional

Components Of The Olfactory System
The Olfactory System
Introduction
The human body is a complex organism that is composed of many different sensory systems. These
systems work together to create various sensations within the body. The olfactory system, also known
as the sense of smell, is one of the most imperative of all the sensory system. Mammals, both humans
and animals, depend greatly on the olfactory system whether it is cognizant or unintentional. Many
people fail to realize how much the sense of smell binds to almost every other sense within the body.
Many animals depend on the sense of smell as their primary sense. Humans however depend on their
vision as their primary sense but that doesn t mean humans are not dependent of the olfactory system.
To get an overall understanding of the olfactory system, it is important to understand how it operates
and travels within the body. Each function is vital to the overall production of the sense of smell. It is
also important to understand the connection between the olfactory sense and the brain. Damage to any
part of the olfactory system can have a big impact on how you perform in your everyday life. A
damage as minimal as a congestion can affect your sense of smell that then transfers to the depletion
of your taste. In more extreme cases damage can result in disorders such as depression and Alzheimer
s disease.
The Components of The Olfactory System Unlike many of the other senses, olfaction is a chemical
based sense. The olfaction system job is to

Whole Foods Market (i) Environmental Analysis External Opportunities and Threats The demographic, economic and the socio cultural segments would be the most relevant segments to Whole Foods Market. These segments have a direct impact on the profitability, sustainability and survivability of Whole Foods Market, and the organic food industry. The relevance of the demographic segment stems from the fact that the age structure, income distribution and population size are important factors which will influence the demand for organic products. The high entry barriers, lack of substitute products and the huge pool of potential consumers will certainly mean an immense potential of opportunities in an industry that has just started to grow. Whole Foods Markets is in an excellent position to capture these opportunities and this will be explained below. (iv) Responses to Wal Mart s foray into the organic foods industry Focus strategy on market penetration, using existing stores situated in prime locations Whole Foods Markets has been able to reach out to its target markets through the prime geographical locations of its stores. By further leveraging on these locations through the offering of more customized organic products, Whole Foods will be able to penetrate the market deeper. Given that fact that it has established the Whole Foods Brand in affluent communities, it will be in a better position than Wal mart to widen its target market and to reach out to potential customers. Members of both genders have lived multiple roles in the past, but these were generally established ones, such as men being the wage earners and women the caregivers. Communication followed largely defined cultural and societal norms. Usually, nuances in speech and in body language could readily be interpreted. Smiles of good will, interest, and encouragement by either men or women, however, can be interpreted as agreement with what is being said. In conversation, it is necessary to be direct and honest as well, especially when a smile does not signify agreement or approval. Men often talk at women, not with them. One chaplain assistant NCOIC made a habit of periodically bringing all members of the staff who were interested into a general conversation at a convenient location in the office. Early in the morning, at random intervals, he introduced a question or comment on a current event or another objective topic on which anyone would be able to contribute information or an opinion. As the men and women of the staff shared the conversation, they grew to know and respect each other and their backgrounds. They were more ready to offer their information and insights on work related topics, and close teamwork throughout the staff developed. A senior chaplain encouraged teamwork in his staff through frequent roundtable discussions of assigned projects. Whether with bloodshed or not, dueling was seen by society as the only way to ensure harmonious reconciliation between the men involved in a dispute with each other (Frevet, 167). However, it is questionable as to whether dueling would result in the superficial reconciliation if the cause was a serious provocation like adultery (Frevet, 176). Also, by challenging Crampas to a duel, Innstetten showed respect to the man that may not deserve it, as he put the both of them on the principle of equality and so called fair chance, which was an existential guarantee for society s satisfaction (Frevet 168). • 16. Summary Of Invisible Man, Hamlet, And Crime And Punishment Out of all the books we ve read this year, in my opinion Invisible Man, Hamlet, and Crime and Punishment did the best job of showing me what the world outside education was like. These books do the best job because they depict very different lives from mine: they are narrated by men, one African American, one Russian, and one Danish royalty three identities that I do not claim for myself. If we re going to learn about the world, I might as well learn about worlds other than my own (which I d say I m pretty familiar with). A common theme throughout the books I ve chosen is a problem with the binaries society presents us, whether it be racial, moral or internal. The conflicts addressed in these books often spring from a failure to find a balance, or an endeavor to find out where in the middle you belong. Crime and Punishment is a prime example of the dangers of seeing in black and white. Raskolnikov s existence is a grey area, because although he s a murderer, the reader is sort of rooting for him. To me, Crime and Punishment is about the different tones morality can take. Raskolnikov is a murderer, but to him, and maybe some of the readers, he is justified in his act. This crime doesn t define him as a moral or immoral person, that is for the reader to decide. Sonya is a similar example of the fluidity of morality, because she s a prostitute, but does so to help her family and also provides crucial moral guidance to Rodya. Anna, the main character in An Imperial Affliction, says that she is the side effect, which Hazel agrees to. Hazel feels as the book is only meant for her, as she understands how Anna might have felt when battling cancer. • 20. Impact Of Slavery On The Indian Ocean Slavery in the Western Hemisphere has had an unmistakable impact on the the world and for those who live in the United States of America, it s impact is still seen today. For the most part this impact has been negative on the United States seeing as though it brought about immense racial tension between blacks and whites which is still today, crippling the nation. This type of slavery did not allow for upward mobility in the slave community. Seeing that Slavery across the Indian Ocean was not based upon race, and more upon social class and sexuality, there was more of a sense of upward mobility in the Indian Ocean slave trade than there was in the transatlantic slave trade which involved more brutal treatment based upon race. Today, slavery is known as one of the most inhumane acts of mankind. Slaves were brought over from their countries, mainly from the western and southern coast of Africa, to work for the Europeans without pay. Not only were they without pay, they were brought over in boats, packed on all decks of the ship in such a way that was comparable to a can of sardines. Slaves were taken and shipped to countries in South America and North America, to work on plantations to harvest plants such as, Tobacco, Cotton, Sugarcane, and Indigo. These slaves worked 20 hour days on these plantations and were rewarded with slave quarters which were in most cases in unlivable conditions. • 22. Australian Urbanisation Early 1900 s The process of urbanisation is a central feature of Australian history. By 1900 over two thirds of Australians were living in areas that were classified as urban. The growth of these cities was encouraged by various factors; the interaction and engagement of economic, demographic, political and social characteristics are definitely the key features that promoted the urbanisation of Australia. However, with the development of Australia came problems that people living in cities had to face. Environmental and health difficulties were to be over come in the city suburbs while economic depression followed after a period of prosperity and progress. Economic factors are fundamental in determining urban structure. Cities can be seen as a form ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike in Britain, urbanisation had stimulated the growth of industrialisation. By the nineteenth century, Australia had a relatively affluent, well housed, well fed and a healthy population. The first increase in population occurred in 1830 when a bounty system, to catch escaped convicts, was introduced and immigration was assisted on a large scale. During the 1850 s the gold rushes bought the next influx of immigrants and Australia s population more than doubled over a period of ten years. In this time before 1860, population grew largely due to immigration rather than natural increase. In most urban areas a higher rate of population or an increasing degree of urbanisation may be gained through natural increase, from immigration or a sizeable movement from rural to urban areas. In Australia it was a merging of these three factors that encouraged urbanisation. Yet, over seas migration was the most important source of Australian metropolitan population growth, followed closely by natural increase. Rural to urban drift of population was much less important, except during the post gold rush periods. The demographic variables such as age structure, fertility, mortality, and marriage rates were also of considerable economic, social and political significance, advancing ... When growing up, Hill was always enamored by the arts and would compete in singing competitions. After the age of 13, she met Pras Michel and Wyclef Jean , and the three formed the band called the Fugees. The band would later go on to sell millions of album copies for the album The Score. However, conflicts between the bandmates eventually led to the dissolution of the band. During a hiatus, Hill took time off to focus on her pregnancy with her first child. In Doo Wop, Hill tells men and women to avoid societal pressures and become independent. For the track Doo Wop, the song starts with a piano, a deep bass, and a simple hip hop beat. This sound sets the tone for the rest of the song because it intertwines classical, soul, and R B music together. • 24. Torques Equilibrium, and Center of Gravity Essay Torques equilibrium, and center of gravity Introduction Torque is a quantitative measure of the tendency of a force to cause or change the rotational motion of a rigid body. A torque is the result of force acting at a distance from an axis of rotation. An essential thing to keep in mind is that the magnitude of the torque is equal to the product of the forces perpendicular distance and magnitude. Theory The magnitude of the torque (t) is found from the product of the force F and the perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation to the forces line of action. When there is no net torque acting on a stationary rigid body, the body will then be in static rotational equilibrium and there is no rotational motion. Materials ... M3=50g was the calculated mass for the system to be at equilibrium. M1=100g and was at the 20 cm position and m2=200g while on the 60 cm position. Both the results and percent error of the experimental value were calculated. Case 3 (unknown mass/balance principle) A known mass was compared with an unknown mass with the use of the balance principle. With the meter stick on the support stand the unknown mass (m1) was suspended near one end of the meter stick while the other stick was suspended with m2. Until the meter stick was in balance its position was adjusted. The unknown mass was then removed in which the actual mass was then determined by using a laboratory balance. Analysis The experiment concluded that the center of gravity of the meter stick did not change although the equilibrium was required to be re balanced once the masses were added. Depending on the mass at one end the distance further away from the center changed. If the mass on one side was greater than the mass on the opposite side the clamp from that side would have to move further away from the center in order to recover the equilibrium. There was a slight percent difference when the torque for both sides were calculated. The cause of this may have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The benefits that are present with writing come mostly from reading, as well as with the fact that as you write, you read along with your words. Though writing may be replaced at some point in time, reading can never be replaced despite the text to speech technology. In particular, he addresses the impact that technology could have, and like writing it involves both speech and text, yet in the opposite order. This time technology would allow a person to listen to the text be read to them rather than having to read it themselves. Pedicellariae are the spikes on starfish. They engulf algae and barnicles before they can attach to the starfish. We re designing a boat paint that is able to mimic the functions of pedicellariae. Boat paint has been affecting aquatic habitats for thousands of years and counting. Scientists have tried changing the ingredients but no matter what they try, species of animals have been harmed. Many of us just leave the dirty work of choosing bottom paint for our vessel to our local boat repair yard. This is a good choice, since most yards know just what type of paint is best. • 41. Major Blunders That You Have Seen Speakers Commit While Major blunders that you have seen speakers commit while addressing an audience SPEAKING WITH LOW ENERGY. Actually, this problem is not restricted solely to speakers. 80 90% of the speakers that I observe do not expend enough energy. Hence, they come across as uninvolved, uninteresting, and unenthusiastic NOT PREPARING ENOUGH Granted, many speakers don t know how to prepare effectively other than preparing their media. Experienced speakers do plenty of research so that they feel confident in their material and their ability to respond to any question the audience might throw at them. Careful preparation is essential. The amount of time you spend on planning depends on your situation, but it s a good idea to start early you can never ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Speaking Incoherently Even though we spend a significant part of the day talking to one another, speaking to an audience is a surprisingly difficult skill, and it s one that we need to practice. If nerves make you rush through a presentation, your audience could miss your most important points. Use cantering or deep breathing techniques to suppress the urge to rush. If you do begin to babble, take a moment to collect yourself. Breathe deeply, and enunciate each word clearly, while you focus on speaking more slowly. Showing a Lack of Dynamism Another common mistake is to freeze in one spot for the duration of your presentation. Some presenters feel most comfortable behind the podium. Try to emulate great speakers like Steve Jobs, who moved purposefully around the stage during his presentations. Avoiding Eye Contact Have you ever been to a presentation where the speaker spent all of his time looking at his notes, the screen, the floor, or even at the ceiling? How did this make you feel? Meeting a person s gaze establishes a personal connection, and even a quick glance can keep people engaged. If your audience is small enough, try to make eye contact with each individual at least once. If the audience is too large for this, try looking at people s foreheads. The individual may not interpret it as eye contact, but those sitting around them will. RUSHING. Rushing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Theological Reflection Essay Many weeks have passed since I last wrote about my theological perspective at length. I began the class with lots of questions, and I do not believe I can say for sure that they have been answered, but I can say that I am now at peace with the idea that some of my questions may not be able to be answered in this life. It amazes me that I have been able to grow so much in such a short period of time. The growing pains were great, but the reward was greater. I feel that I am in a much better place in my life now. In the past few months, I have tried to reclaim some of the closeness to God that I feel I have been missing. It has not been easy for me to give up control of my life. I have strong tendencies to be in control of what goes on, so that I have some inclination of how to prepare to react. As a result of learning to let go, I feel much less fearful of the future or my place in it. Not only has this class helped me come to terms with the idea that I should not have total control over my life, but it has also reminded me of things I had forgotten about. It truly left me pleasantly surprised with the content of the class. I cannot lie, much of the curriculum contained information that I already had some knowledge of, but that is only a result of my obsessive research in the pursuit of answers. However, something that I appreciated greatly was the inclusion of the Apocrypha. Further, I appreciated that verses from Apocryphal books were used in the same way that Canonical verses were used. This was one of the biggest problems I had with the way Christianity has always been taught to me. Many exclude the Apocrypha as if it does not even exist, much less as an original piece of the non canonical Bible. This fact, colloquially stated, has always seemed sketchy to me. I was not even aware of its existence until about a year ago. My foundations were shaken a little when I found out. I compare it to finding out about a long held family secret. I could not find anything in what I read of the Apocrypha to be too out there, so I did not understand why it was never mentioned in the first place. It seemed to me that if they were so set on not mentioning it, there could be a whole array of other texts/writings that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. Usfk General Order To The Rangers Case Analysis (4) It is clear the information regarding the application of the USFK General Order to the Rangers was disseminated to the company. It is also apparent that CPT Jorgensen had at least some knowledge of this fact. At some point there was serious consideration by CPT Ferriter to call MG Deedrick to ask for an exception to policy for his men to cover the weekend, particularly because there was an MWR ski trip planned for Friday 11 MAR 16. CPT Ferriter eventually decided it was not prudent to make that request and never asked MG Deedrick for the exception. • 45. Components Of The Olfactory System The Olfactory System Introduction The human body is a complex organism that is composed of many different sensory systems. These systems work together to create various sensations within the body. The olfactory system, also known as the sense of smell, is one of the most imperative of all the sensory system. Mammals, both humans and animals, depend greatly on the olfactory system whether it is cognizant or unintentional. Many people fail to realize how much the sense of smell binds to almost every other sense within the body. Many animals depend on the sense of smell as their primary sense. Humans however depend on their vision as their primary sense but that doesn t mean humans are not dependent of the olfactory system. To get an overall understanding of the olfactory system, it is important to understand how it operates and travels within the body. Each function is vital to the overall production of the sense of smell. It is also important to understand the connection between the olfactory sense and the brain. Damage to any part of the olfactory system can have a big impact on how you perform in your everyday life. A damage as minimal as a congestion can affect your sense of smell that then transfers to the depletion of your taste. In more extreme cases damage can result in disorders such as depression and Alzheimer s disease. The Components of The Olfactory System Unlike many of the other senses, olfaction is a chemical based sense. The olfaction system job is to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
