Equipment Responsibility in the Us. Army
Equipment Responsibility The United States army values soldiers that are responsibility for their
actions and equipment. Being responsibility means being Dependable arriving to work and
appointments on time, keeping track of and control of equipment, meeting deadlines, being in the
right place At the right time, doing the right thing at the right time. Without having accountability
there is not knowing of where or in what shape your equipment is in and there for having a
negative effect on a unit’s combat readiness. As a result of me leaving my
TA 50 unsecured in the GCA lab I am now writing this essay for SFC Adams. Not only does this

It would have taking around two months of no spending to get the funds I would need to buy
just the equipment that I lost. Not to mention the shipping and handling as none of these items
can purchase a post PX. Such an event as losing my TA 50 would also result in me having to
barrow my battle buddies gear so I can perform training that is required for my job as a soldier. I
would also receive Negative counseling statements and very possible an Article 15. If I received a
company grade article 15 I could lose more money, I could be reduced to the pay grade of E 1,
PVT. I could also be restricted to the Camp Humphrey’s Garrison for up to
two weeks and have to perform extra duties for fourteen days. And have to stand before the Bn
Commander LTC. Joel Kain II. Who stated at the Pacific Guardian day that he had little
torolarnce for service members who sham out on their obligations and responsibility. For all of
the reasons I have listed above, financially hardship, a disregard of the seven United states army
values, a disregard for my unit, a disregard for my fellow service members, my sworn obligation I
took at my re enlistment into the united states army and my reputation as a soldier in the United
States army. My actions on Thursday night the 19th of June 2008 were

Functional Genomic Analysis of C. elegans Using RNA...
Introduction
Before we talk about this important experiment, do you know what a nematode is?
Specifically, this experiment used Caenorhabditis elegans, C. elegans for short. C. elegans is a
little worm (just like the kind you find in the ground), but has a very special place in modern
biochemistry: scientists have mapped its entire genomic sequence.
This sequence lets scientists know the character and location of all C. elegans genes. However,
biochemists do not yet fully understand what each gene does and the goal of this experiment is to
find the function of each gene within the worm. The connection between a worm s genotype and
phenotype is important, because, believe it or not, human beings and worms share many of the same

All eukaryotic cells get their genetic information from DNA, which are strands of nucleotides
whose order conveys genetic information to the cell. Structurally, DNA looks like a ladder. A
DNA strand is made up of a sugar phosphate backbone (similar to the sides of a ladder, alternating
sugar and phosphate) and is connected in the middle with paired purines and pyrimidines (fancy
names for four chemicals that make up the steps of the ladder). Scientists refer to the distinctive
shape of DNA as a double helix.
DNA replication is necessary for organisms to stay alive and reproduce. When cells replicate, the
DNA must also be copied so the daughter cells contain the genetic information necessary to
perform key chemical reactions. Cells have machinery that read the information in DNA and use
these instructions to make proteins. To make proteins, the DNA must first unwind in order to be
read. This small section is then replicated to form a single stranded RNA strand. The RNA strand
then forms what is called messenger RNA or simply mRNA. The mRNA is used to make the
proteins the cell needs.
In some viruses, however, the genetic material is double stranded RNA (known as dsRNA), rather
than DNA. These viruses inject their dsRNA into a host s cell. The

Specific Phobias
The most common treatment for specific phobias is a form of psychotherapy called exposure
therapy, although other treatments include other therapies or medication (Andrews et al. 2009).
The goal of treatment for specific phobias is to improve quality of life so that patients are no
longer limited by their phobias. Exposure therapy focuses on changing the response to the object or
situation feared. Gradual, repeated exposure to the source of the specific phobia and the related
thoughts, feelings and sensations can help patients to learn to manage their anxiety (Andrews et al.
2009). There are many variations of exposure therapy. In vivo exposure involves confronting the
phobic stimulus head on but gradually. For example, a patient suffering

MBTI/Strong Interest Inventory Career Assessments According to the MBTI assessment, I am an
ISTP and according to the Strong Interest Inventory, my strongest themes are RCI. I agree with
these analyses, for the most part. As mentioned in the modules, everyone has a little bit of both
sides in them, but some stand out stronger than others. And when it comes to me, it really
depends on the situation, at the time, as to which of my types or interests will stand out more

Summary
Bella Swan is a 17 year old girl who has lived in Phoenix, Arizona, with her mother, her entire
life. After her mother remarries, she moves to Forks, Washington, to live with her father.
Although she is very shy, she seems to make friends very easily at her new high school. On her
first day of school, she takes a seat next to a handsome, yet extremely reserved boy named Edward
Cullen. As soon as Bella sits down, Edward gets up and leaves, trying his hardest to avoid her.
Bella finds his behavior completely strange, but eventually Edward warms up to her, and the
two begin a close friendship. One day, Bella is walking through the school parking lot. All of a
sudden, a car pulls up out of nowhere, heading straight for Bella. Edward suddenly appears,
stopping the car with little force, using only one hand, and completely amazing Bella with his
incredible strength and speed. Still curious, Bella asks a family friend, Jacob, about Edward and
the rest of the Cullen family. Jacob reveals that the Cullen family members are all seen as outcasts,
as everyone believes them to be vampires. Bella ends up questioning ... Show more content on

On How Brazil Positioned Itself as the 7th Largest Economy...
Introduction
Brazil with a population around 201,032,714, is the largest South America s country. Brazil s most
important components of its GDP are service revenues, wide industry sector and its successful
agriculture.
For More than two decades Brazil suffered badly from high inflation, economic decline, domestic
and foreign debt. In 1993 country s Inflation reached 30 percent a month and as a result the country
wouldn t sustain growth. After many unsuccessful plans to control the inflation, finally Real Plan
of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, minister of finance, worked out and brought the inflation down to a
single digit.
Today Brazil with a GDP of $2.533 trillion is the 7th largest economy in the world and it is also
considered as one of the most successful emerging countries. Despite all predictions, thanks to its
huge domestic market and agriculture, the country maintained its growth in 2009 and 2010.
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how Brazil, a country with an extremely high rate of
inflation and low growth, positioned itself as the 7th largest economy of the world and what are
the challenges that the country is facing. First of all the Real Plan of Fernando Henrique Cardoso
and how it helped the country to stabilize its economy and drop down the inflation rate will be
discussed. Secondly how his successor s policies, Luis InГЎcio Lula da Silva, improved country s
economy. At the end the challenges that Dilma Vana Rousseff, the current president, is facing

Retainer headhunters: o Search and often screen the candidates, with the organisations having
exclusive contacts with specific headhunting agencies. o Commission can be similar in terms of the

hybrid model, under which part of the fee is paid upfront, with the rest being contingent on filling
of the position. As a candidate, you should know that headhunters are always paid by their client,
which is the organisation looking to hire. This means the loyalty of the agency is on the client and
not necessarily you as the candidate. This can mean headhunters aren t interested in providing any
type of career counselling and other advice for you. In addition, this can mean the recruiter goes for
standard candidates, who match the job description, as these are what the clients tend to prefer.
Overall, headhunters are not looking for the most talented or likeable candidate. How do
headhunters operate? So, what is the typical process headhunters use to find the right match? The
name, headhunter, is rather suitable for explaining the proceeds, as headhunters tend to hunt for the
right candidates, instead of necessarily waiting for the candidate to come to them. The basic
process tends to follow these steps: вћўThe headhunter receives a job description from

Differences Between Sea Oats And Camphorweed
On the Cabretta beach dunes, there is an abundance of vegetation that encompasses the area of the
quadrant for each stop. The most plant diversity of one stop, was observed in a swale (Dune Stop
2), with weed oats, wax myrtle, rushes, and dog fennel. These four plants solely appeared in the
swale. Sea oats and camphorweed were the most abundant planttypes in the dunes; additionally, sea
oats and camphorweed can be found in multiple dune environments. Sea oats were found in dune
crests, between two troughs, and in the fore dune, having most abundance in the crests, while
camphorweed was found in inter dune meadows, between two troughs, and in the fore dune,
having most abundance in the inter dune meadows (Figure ). These two plants displayed
significant height differences in various dune territories. In the crest, sea oats measured at a height
of 105cm, but as they grow closer to the ocean, they increase by ~63cm. As for camphorweeds,
they grew to be roughly 60cm in the inter dune meadows and fore dune; however, in between the
two troughs, the plant stood at an average height of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When gathering data from the modern marsh, eight different quadrants that were 15 m apart from

mid marsh region, with living and dead spartina, glass warts, and salt warts. Interestingly, there is
a sharp shift from 71% spartina and 13% salt warts at 45m into the marsh to 93% salt warts and
7% spartina at 60m. These sudden shifts in plant type abundance throughout the marsh from the
marsh border to 105m into the marsh (Figure ). Salt warts were the most copious, followed by
spartina, and glass warts with the least occurrences in the marsh. One the marsh border, needle rush

The Innate Ability Of Learned Experiences
First, you need to be large and aggressive to protect yourself from other cats and predators, all of
whom are native to their species and carry the same DNA as the generations before them
combined with the innate ability of learned experience. Their reactions and actions are instinctive,
whereas you will be at a disadvantage since you are not native to the species and will not have
those learned skills. It is an unknown that you will have those instinctive traits once your
transformation is complete. Essentially, you will be a newborn kitten in an adult body without the
protection, nurturing and teaching of a mother. Dr. Retcel hoped and doubted her words would
sink in. Unless you intend to remain indoors where J can look out for you, there is a good chance
you will not last long on the outside or in the wild. Do you understand, Worthington?

Progressing into Free Market Economies
The United States is a blessed nation to have freer markets than most. According to the 2013 Index
of Economic Freedom, the United States ranks as No. 10 in the most free market countries, while
Zimbabwe ranks No. 175 out of the 177 countries listed. (1) How are countries like Hong Kong,
New Zealand, and the U.S. ranked so high? With social cooperation, income inequality, comparative
advantages, freedom of trade, sound money, reductions in taxes and regulations, and protection of
propertyrights, more markets in other countries will too progress into free market economies.

difficult to recognize it and it takes longer to fight the infection. Recovery from the cold is fairly
simple, stay warm (not hot) Get lots of fluids and rest. Wait the cold out it should go away in 5
to 7 days, if the symptoms worsen or drag out for ever then go see a doctor, it might have turned
into an upper respiratory infection, which is quite nasty and painful. Contrary to popular believe
over the counter drugs do not do much for the cold, and may only add to your misery by giving

regarding the problem, justify the impact of the problem to the
society, and consider the future customers of that would be solution.
Before designing solutions, related literature must be examined first.
This may ease off confusion as to where and how to start. Lastly, a

Film Mise En Scene
In film making, Mise en ScГЁne refers to the overall look and feel of a movie. It includes
everything the audience sees, hears, and experiences while viewing a motion picture. Mise en
ScГЁne may influence one s mood as they watch a movie. In addition, odors, dГ©cor, lighting, and
sounds can inspire one s emotional response to a real life setting. Citizen Kane exhibits the
elements of mise en scГЁne to reinforce loss as a recurring theme throughout the film. For example,
throughout the course of the production, Charles Kane lost important prized possessions, including
his mother, which steered him on a negative course. During the dinner scene, Charles and his first
wife Emily were at the table conversing, which displayed many elements of design that
foreshadowed their future plans as a couple. For instance, at the beginning of their relationship, they

The way the house is presented in the beginning scene provides an inference to the attitude and
personality of Charles Foster Kane in his elder years. The 3 tiers of fencing in view describe
how Kane is isolated, lonely, and private. The dark skyline and abundance of foreign landscape
characterizes how he has exotic taste. Lastly, the gondolas from Italy indicate how he wants the
world to focus on him. Elements of design are used heavily in the scene when Susan Alexander
is sick in bed due to depression of not wanting to be an opera singer. The director Orson Welles
created Susan to look weak and lifeless that showed viewers how controllable Charles was. The
light was dim on her and bright on Charles. Charles was elegantly dressed while she looked like
she was about to die. Every detailed element makes viewers conclude the complicated relationship
between these two characters, and how they treated one

The Phillips Curve Essay
The Phillips Curve
Economists agree that unemployment and inflation are two of the major macroeconomic problems
of the twentieth century. If a relationship between the two existed then this would be a major break
through for the macro management of the economy. Phillips work was empirical started with
evidence and worked towards a theory. The causation for the Phillips theory was that the level of
unemployment caused the rate of change in money wages to be what it was.
What economic theory lies behind this?
As unemployment decreases the available pull of labour goes down. This means that resources
become increasingly scarce and workers can push for higher wage rates. Or as unemployment

They held that it was the government s duty to achieve the correct level of demand by manipulating
its own spending and tax receipts, or in other words, to have an active fiscal policy. This policy
required the government to spend more than it received if the economy had less than full
employment. As a consequence, aggregate demand would rise through a multiplier effect and
unemployment would fall. The inflation controversy Demand Pull or Cost Push?
Keynesian economists were divided into two camps. Some believed that inflation was caused by
too much demand for goods and services, or excess demand i.e. Demand Pull Inflation. Such
economists were very enthusiastic about the Phillips curve because it seemed to provide strong
evidence for their views. The second camp of Keynesian economists believed that inflation was
caused by cost pressures arising from high wage settlements gained by strong trade unions and from
increases in import prices i.e. Cost Push Inflation. They were doubtful about the usefulness of the
Phillips curve. On the
Nicholas Perry
evidence of the Phillips curve they thought that wage inflation and unemployment could be traded
off against each other, that policy makers could decide to have a bit less unemployment in
exchange for accepting a bit more wage inflation or vice versa. The Phillips curve helped the
demand pull Keynesians in another way as in order to manage the level

Australia, while only 0.3% of the world s populationlived in Australia (UNDESA, 2013). Because
of the huge number of immigrants Australian government set programmes to control the increase,
which are integrating immigrants into its society and focusing on skilled migrants. This essay will

Firstly, the integration of immigrants has been effective into the society. This could be because the
rate of crimes by immigrants and the chances to being imprisoned is low when comparing with

Secondly, choosing immigrants who have skills and abilities which lead to creating more jobs and
increasing the Australian economy. Moreover, their tax contribution is higher than Australian
workers, and this may affect positively in Australian income. Also, the immigrants who come on a

An Analysis of Benjamin Franklin s Autobiography
Introduction Benjamin Franklin is revered by Americans as one of its most revered and adored
founding fathers. For foreigners, Benjamin Franklin became the very icon of America, not only
because he was accomplished, but because he was a new man, a man that could only have been
made in America. Franklin came to be seen as the embodiment of American values. The image and
the values promoted in Franklin s autobiography would later come to be regarded as essential
American virtues: determination, industriousness, and self sufficiency. It was purportedly these
virtues which led to his great practical accomplishments in publishing, politics, and science. In a
sense, Franklin s autobiography was the first exposition of the now famous American Dream.
Thesis: In his autobiography, Franklin is undoubtedly concerned with developing virtue and self
improvement, but relies on others as the primary frame of reference for his own progress, always
measuring himself with others. This habit of comparison results in the development of vices as
well as virtues. Background Aims At the start of the First Chapter, Franklin claims to write only so
that his own life may be an example for his son of how one can live well and how one can get
through hardships. He meant to show ...the conducing means...which...so well succeeded, my
posterity...may find some of them suitable to their own situations. Franklin, B. (1909). The

1. ABSTRACT
The result that an institution receives from the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) is in PDF
(Portable Document File) format file. To analyze and manipulate them manually is very tedious job
for a person. This is where text mining and file format convertors come into light to overcome this
kind of problem. Text mining has an exceptional contribution for programmers and scientists to
mine data out from textual files. Text mining overlooks the redundant textual data and only targets
only on the required data patterns. Text mining plays important role because its center of
functioning is devising patterns into necessary format or could be said that it derives a very
quality of information from text. File format conversion has always been a bridge as well as
challenge to access that particular data without particular tool. Different files have protocol set like

Reducing Barbecue Dose
The thickness of barbecue sauce is important for more than just its mouth feel. Thin barbecue
sauce does not bind to or coat meat as effectively as a thicker liquid does. There are a number of
ways to make a sauce that is the right texture, some are simpler and more effective than others.
Reduction
Reduction is the simplest way to thicken a barbecue sauce. Just heat it and reduce the amount of
water in the sauce via evaporation. While it does take longer to reduce a sauce when compared to
other thickening methods, it does not require you to dilute the sauce. In addition, reduction does
not involve adding extra ingredients. To reduce your barbecue sauce, place it in a pot and bring it
to a boil. Lower the heat and continue at a slow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You use it by mixing it with water to form a slurry. While using a cornstarch slurry is not quite as
simple as reduction, it can do the job in less time. Place your sauce in a pot. To add cornstarch,
first mix it with cold water until it is dissolved then pour the slurry into your sauce. Start with a ВЅ
tablespoon each of cornstarch and water for a cup of sauce. Note that you want to avoid lumps
in your cornstarch since these may not break down once the cornstarch is heated. Bring your
sauce to a boil and simmer. Within five minutes, your sauce should be noticeably thicker. The
more cornstarch you add, the faster the sauce will thicken and the thicker it will be. Keep
stirring with a whisk to keep the sauce from sticking to the bottom and sides of the pot. Note
that many barbecue sauces are highly acidic and cornstarch has a way of breaking down in acids.
If you are making a barbecue sauce with lots of ketchup or vinegar, you may find that the
cornstarch breaks down and does not thicken at all. If you keep adding more cornstarch, this may
result in your sauce taking on a chalky taste. Another drawback of using cornstarch stems from the
fact that you are diluting the other ingredients. Your sauce will be blander than it would be if you
had not used a

Star-Crossed Lovers In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes/A pair of star cross d lovers take their life. (Prologue,
lines 5 6) This renowned quote is taken from Shakespeare s celebrated play Romeo and Juliet and
for years has introduced audiences to both the beginning and end of this unforgettable tale. It is
the story in which Shakespeare coined the phrase of star cross d lovers and among many of his
other groundbreaking words and phrases, this one has continued with our society today through
literature, music, and other aspects of culture. Star crossed lovers, it essentially explains itself, a
pair of lovers whose loveis doomed to end in only tragedy, as written in the stars. And as the play

Still another example is in Act III when Romeo kills Tybalt, Juliet s cousin who killed Romeo s
best friend Mercutio. Before entering his duel with Tybalt Romeo says This day s black fate on
more days doth depend;/ This but begins the woe others must end. In this quote, Romeo is
saying that this dark day is the beginning of many to come. After killing Tybalt in revenge,
Romeo realizes that he will have to face consequences for disturbing the peace again, possibly
death. Romeo then blames fate for this instead of his own actions saying O, I am fortune s fool!
insisting that fate has made a fool of him. This pattern of bad decisions made by emotional
teenagers who blame the consequences on a larger force themselves is repeated over and over
again throughout the play up until the very end. At this end, when analyzing the characters
decisions in the play and where and when they blame fate, it is obvious that the stars are not the
reason that so many ends up dead in this tragedy. Instead, it is when Romeo and Juliet decide to
throw themselves into life with the mindset that it is not their fault of what happens, but the fate
that controls them and it is too late to change that. It is when Romeo, Juliet, and the Friar decide to
keep a marriage of two lovers from

Human Genetic Engineering Essay
Genetic engineering is a practice commonly used in food to produce yields of superior size or
quality. Recently this technology has been tested on humans. The human race will now be able to
improve upon itself and their offspring. With this technology disease can be disposed of and normal
people can become better than average. Not all technology needs to be utilized. Genetic engineering
that should not be used in humans unless done to prevent or treat disease until it is fully understood
since the consequences are undetermined and potentially devastating. Human genetic engineering,

Preventing sickness is not wrong. The issue occurs when one tries to, as Sandel claims, reach
beyond health or above the norm ( The Case Against ). Pills and other devices have done this. For
example, David King, a professor at Harvard, recollects when human growth hormone was
marketed towards people with hormone deficiencies. Now it is prescribed to normal short
children (39). Surgery was also originally used for medical uses, but cosmetic surgery is now its
own field. When HGE becomes affordable and safe the public will find use.
Clapper explains germline changes the genes in eggs or sperm ( Human Genetic ). This will
modify any future children. Mitochondrial transfer, a form of germline engineering, is now
possible allowing for three genetically linked parents to a child. Wynne Parry, LiveScience
contributor, describes that it replaces faulty mitochondria with healthy ones from a third party (
Designing Life ) riding the child of mitochondrial diseases from the mother due to old age during
pregnancy.
Germline engineering will satisfy few people who have infertility and do not want to use other
methods. Parents can have the same bond between another being without conceiving a child. There
is adoption, but some do not do this since the child will not be genetically linked to them. Clapper
mentions that gamete and embryo donation, or pre implantation diagnosis and selection can be
used ( Human Genetic ). The latter allows for both parents to be related

Radical Formulas
This week we learned about Radical Formulas and how this can be applied in our everyday lives.
Radicals seem very complicated at first, but because we have learned so much already, it is just
taking what we already know and apply it to the problem that we have been assigned. I have been
asked to work a problem 103 and 104 on pages 605 and 606 of our math book Elementary and
Intermediate Algebra. We are going to break out each step to show how we came to our answer.
By breaking out our problems, we will have a better understanding of the solving radical formulas.
We will start working problem 103 on page ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For a boat with a displacement of d pounds and a sail area of A square feet S is determined by the
function S = 16Ad 2/3. a) Find S to the nearest tenth for the Tartan 4100, which has a sail area of
810 square feet and a displacement of 23,245 pounds. b) Write d in terms of A and S .
Step one
Starting with our formula.
Step two
Here we have plugged in the values into our formula. When solving we do order of operations first
and we will solve exponents first.
Step three
Complete the multiplication
Step four
This is our solution
Now we will solve the second part of the problem.
Step one
Step two
We will divide by 16A
Step three
Step four
Raise all the parts to the 3/2 power.
Step five
The (16A)3/2 has became the reciprocal to the 3/2 power
Step six
Here is the solution for d.
To conclude we showed how use the Radical Formulas in each problem that we were working. We
broke out each step so that we would have a better time understanding how one would answer this
question. We have shown our work in hopes that other will be able to follow these same steps to
find their solutions. We now have a better understanding of the Radical Formulas.

Essay about The Theme of Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill
In the story Miss Brill, an old, lonely lady spends her Sunday observing people in a park.
Although ignored by everyone around her, Miss Brill manages to convince herself that she is
really an integral part of the scene and would be missed if she weren t there. Her illusion is
shattered by a chance remark at the end of the story, and she returns home, clearly devastated by her
new understanding of her place in life. What this story is trying to illustrate is that sometimes
people can be happy through living in an illusion. However, this kind of happiness is fragile and
can be easily destroyed.
Unfortunately, modern society does not provide a place for everyone. Inevitably, there are those
people, often elderly, who become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

was sure it would be repeated. It was; she lifted her head and smiled (98). Even if she s only an
observer, Miss Brill is an involved observer. She draws enjoyment from simply being in the park
atmosphere. However, her enjoyment is more than a passing mood. It s actually an indication of
a deeper emotion a kind of happiness. This becomes clear after Miss Brill has paid close
attention to several small exchanges between people at the park. Oh how fascinating it was! How
she enjoyed it! How she loved sitting here, watching it all! (99). That Miss Brill does not actually
participate in anything is clear to the reader, but not to her. Vicarious involvement in other peoples
lives seems to be fulfilling for her, even though there is no actual interplay with others. The most
telling evidence that Miss Brill is happy (and that her happiness is based on a false impression)
is when she comes to the conclusion that she s somehow needed at the park. No doubt somebody
would have noticed if she hadn t been there; she was part of the performance after all... Miss Brill
nearly laughed out loud (100). This realization eventually moves Miss Brill to

Essay On Critical Reflection
Part one: Critical Reflection on your team as whole
I believe our group has struggled from the very beginning with being organized. I think some of the
difficulties started with the team strategic plan. The team would have benefited more, from an
outline of information that would be presented during the final speech (Adler, Ronald B., et al.,
2013). I think our organization was lacking the first day we met to work on the team strategic plan.
We all pushed off the meeting because we thought we had more time and as the due date
approached we quickly met up to discuss what needed to be in the strategic plan. Then asked
everyone to work on it on their own time. I don t think this was the most beneficial way to divide
tasks. We should have spent more time doing group work, and not assigned as much individual
work (Adler, Ronald B., et al., 2013). I think we should have used part of the designated meeting
times to do group work, that would have been the most beneficial for our group due to all
members of the group having so much going on outside of the project, that the time would have
allowed each of us to have a required/designated time to work on the project. Allowing for us to
get more done, earlier on. I think the anticipation of some members to get the team strategic plan
done also caused them to take on too much responsibility which affected their stress level and in
return affect their quality of work. Also causing us to get a lower grade due to other minds not

Legible means clear, readable and understandable. It could be harmful to an individual if other
people cannot read what you have written, for example in a care plan about the way the individual
is feeling.
Records must always be factual and not an opinion. They should include the correct date and a full
signature of the person writing the record. It is also recommended to use black ink. Some
documents will only accept black ink. Information must not be crossed out, or covered using
correction fluid.
Always record any information given to you by an individual even if you think it is trivial
because it might help someone else. Always check an individual s care and support plan before
working with them as there may have been changes since you last worked with the individual, even
if it was only a short time ago.

Innovation In Transport Industry Essay
Innovation in Transport Industry
Introduction
After Singapore independence, Singapore s bus service was provided by numerous small operators
and was highly split with both service and safety standards were low. The aggressive competition by
the private bus companies led to poor service, lack of incorporation and network economies
eventually resulting in the immediate bankruptcy of many of these companies. The government
moved in a team of civil servants, take over the fragmented companies and put together a tight
outfit, making reasonable profits. The new entity, SBS Transit, was eventually nationalized.

Since 1987, managing the three way tensions of ensuring profitability and acceptable quality had
been the job of the Public Transport Council (PTC), which regulates transport fares for both buses

In 1996, Singapore Government revealed one of its most aspiring and extensive plans for the
Singapore s land transport system. It contained details step the authorities to follow to achieve its
vision of a world class transport system for the city in the next 10 to 15 years time. The change to
existing schemes was proposed like revision of taxi fares. New schemes were introduced as well
such as Electronic Road Pricing (ERP), which eventually become omnipresent in Singapore. But
among all these implementation, the heart of the blueprint was that 75 Percent of all day to day
trips in Singapore would be made by public transport. In order to achieve this goal, improvements to
public transport were critical. The White Paper said that the government would enhance public
transport, encouraging more Singaporeans to switch from cars to train and bus, and easing traffic
congestion. It would also enhance railway and road networks so that commuters can

Lowenstein should not have shared that kind of information to her husband. This kind of behavior
violates the Code of Ethics and can result in a loss of her license.
Another strong ethical issue was the huge confidentiality issues that involves Susan and
Savannah s family. Susan reveals information about Savannah s sessions while she was still in a
medically induced coma, so clearly there was not permission to do so from Savannah or from a
legal stance. The Code of Ethics prohibits this kind of behavior and as a social worker is not
acceptable.
Fourth ethical issue I spotted was the relationship was deepened when Dr. Lowenstein asked
Tom to coach her son in football. This is an indicator of a dual relationship that should be
prohibited. Football is a contact sport and this created a relationship between Tom and Susan s
son. The relationship escalated as Tom and the son we rolling around in the grass and became
close as summer went on. This is an unreasonable distance between client and Susan s personal
life. If this was a social work colleague, my ethical responsibility would to be consider both
parties and approach the colleague to gather information and get a better understanding of the
situation. Also, it would be a good idea to check the agencies work policies just to make sure this
is a violation. If it is it might be a good idea to let the supervisor of the agency know what has been

Propaganda In The Handmaid s Tale By Margaret Atwood
The doublespeak or propaganda is a significant manipulate language that has been used in The
Handmaid s Tale by Margaret Atwood, especially in VIII. Birthday. This manipulate language is
being used to persuade and encourage people by individual judgements and attitudes. The first
significant circumstance that Aunt Lydia uses her personal judgement to blame other women that
they are not good. In the novel, Of course, some women believed there would be no future, they
thought the world would explode. That was the excuse they used. They said there was no sense in

Ancient Egyptian Civilization
The ancient Egyptian civilization is arguably the oldest civilization in the world. It is believed to
have emerged around 5,500 years ago, although some scholars have estimated an even earlier date.
During the predynastic period the Egyptians were not united, but as the Sahara desert expanded
many people began moving their settlements around the Nile River. These settlements started
coming together to form towns. As these towns progressed they developed many new ideas to help
the society run smoother. However the total unification and start of the ancient Egyptian
civilization did not happen, until Hierakonpolis expanded and conquered Naqada. The ancient
Egyptian civilization was now created. Since this civilization was one of the first in the world,
there was no structure to start with. In order to function as a thriving civilization, the Egyptians
had to accomplish agricultural, architectural, medical, and educational advancements. The ancient
Egyptian s advancements in agriculture is one of the driving forces that lead to the success of
their empire. The Egyptian civilization came together because of the need for fertile soil and a
constant supply of water. Although the Nile was a constant supply of water, the Egyptians still
needed to find a way to bring the water to their crops. Murray shows the reason why irrigation was
needed, In Egypt, 6000 years ago, when the latest rainy interlude began to wane, neolithic tribesmen
from both sides flocked into the Nile Valley

Similarities And Differences In Ancient Greece
In this essay two Ancient Greek city states (polies) will be compared and contrasted showing how
despite their differences, they both rose to become predominating powers. Ancient Greece consisted
of many small city states, two of which were Athens and Sparta. Athens was considered the center
of fine arts, music, and educational opportunities. Spartawas known for its outstanding military
strength and tactical abilities at war. Life for a Spartiate was comprised of constant training and
conditioning for war, while an Athenian citizen would spend much of their day pursuing what they
wished. Although these two city states were substantially different, they both rose to become the
two most predominant powers in Ancient Greece.
There were several advantages and disadvantages to each of these two polies. Their societal
structures were relatively similar, and their governments were exact opposites. Athens was a very
artistic and philosophical city state while Spartan culture revolved more around the training of men
for war and stability of the government. Spartans valued organization and stability, while
Athenians comparatively valued freedom of choice. There were also huge gender biases between
the two polies, and through all of this, traditions and beliefs have been passed down to our
generations today, helping to shape the world we live in.
To begin with the simplest societal structure of these two poleis. Spartan society was divided into
three main classes. At the top was

Edward Pierce
In Michael Crichton s The Great Train Robbery, gentleman burglar Edward Pierce organizes a
gold heist. He has the opportunity and means to commit the crime, but his motive is never
explicitly revealed. Crichton indicates that Pierce s motive sprouts not from greed nor necessity.
Instead, Pierce commits the crime because he is obsessed with manipulating other people. Pierce
uses fear to get people to bend to his will. He walks through slums with self assurance, an attitude
that makes the other criminals afraid of him (Crichton 35). He also tells a gruesome story about
buffalo hunting in order to scare off Emily Trent (64 5). The story is unnecessary to achieving his
plan, but the Trents emotions come under his power. Furthermore, Pierce

Walmart Case Study Essay
Why do you think Wal Mart did not venture abroad until 1991, despite its success in the USA?
Ans. Until then they were happy enough simply to expand their business in US, after that reached
a certain size and the company had the management time to spend on it then it was time to think
about replicating that success abroad. Because the markets abroad are much more competitive
than in America where it is a slayer of small businesses, except for fresh produce sellers.
Globalization has taken off in recent years, before the turn of the century it was much more
difficult and expensive for franchises to efficiently expand outside of their native country. Q2. How
would you explain wal mart choice of countries during the early stages of international expansion in
the 1990 s. Ans. Internationally, the retailer operates in Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, China,
Korea, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Its expansion strategy internationally has been
aggressive and powerful. The latest expansion strategy is for the company to gain entry into a
nation by corporate takeover of a national retailer. Once the company is bought, Wal Mart converts
the stores into Wal Mart stores. Three countries, all with no previous Wal Mart stores, became part
of the corporation s international presence when domestic retail chains were overtaken. In 1994,
Wal Mart bought 122 Woolco stores in Canada; today there are 196 units in Canada. In 1998 Wal
Mart bought the Wertkauf store with 21 units, now there

Lifting A Truck Essay
When we think of the word big trucks you think of monster trucks first but it actually can also
mean the big tall lift of a truck and that is how monster trucks came to be. Lifting a vehicle over
the legal height is not allowed on the streets because of how big the vehicle is when modified
and can run the risk of running people off the road or over their car. When lifting a vehicle
started out it was for the everyday man or woman who was interested in mudding there vehicle to
the max and now it has became much more popular because people love the thrill of riding higher
than everyone else and can still mud in their everyday driver. The method of lifting a vehicle was
first used by the military and when the wars were over... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lifts were starting to go into the favor of the law again and when it did the changes were
starting to make people upset and tired of all the law changes. In Illinois you can t lift the body
from the chassis more than 3 inches. In terms of bumper height, a GVWR(gross vehicle weight
rating) of 4,500 pounds or less and your front bumper can t go higher than 24 inches. GVWRs
between 4,501 and 7,500 pounds determine the maximum height of 27 inches at the front and 29
inches at the rear. Finally, if your truckis between 7,501 and 9,000 pounds, the allowable
alteration is a maximum height of 28 inches in front and 30 inches in back. The laws of lifting
were made to help keep the safety of the road and not to make everybody run off the road
because of a big lifted truck heading down the road. When the lift wasn t enough the tires
became the next big thing and the tries acted as a lift kit as well. The big tires added as much as
a three inch lift if you ordered big tires and some were just adding only one inch but with the big
tires you could lift your truck without installing a bigger lift

Ethical Issues in Erin Brockovich Erin Brockovich is in a car accident that is not her fault and

She continues to do things that only lawyers are permitted do, such as give advice to clients.
However, Erin does so in a way to earn their trust and becomes friends with many of the residents.
This proves to be a pivotal point in keeping up the morale of the people when they begin to feel
like the lawyers are failing them. In their first meeting, Donna told Erin that PG amp;E had paid
for doctors visits for the whole family. However, PG amp;E was not doing this just to be nice, as
they would have the residents believe, they had an ulterior motive. They sent them to specific
doctors because these doctors would lie to them to cover up for PG amp;E. It was clear that PG
amp;E must have paid these doctors to tell the residents that the water was safe and that their
health problems were not associated to the chromium. The fact that a doctor would lie to a patient
is just as, if not more unethical than what PG amp;E did by lying to the citizens. Although this
issue was not dealt with in the movie, those doctors should have lost their right to practice. The
company should have offered the residents of Hinkley the right to see another doctor of their
choice, at PG amp;E s expense. Upon realizing she needed to get information about the water in
Hinkley, specifically the type of chromium, she went to the water board. She was told not to let
them know what she was looking for or the records could

Multiple Modes Of Transportation In Jakarta Metropolitan...
Proposal for research on multiple modes of transportation in Jakarta Metropolitan Region
Introduction
Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia, one of the world s most densely developed megacities, and
home to more than 10 million inhabitants (The World Bank 2015). The Greater Jakarta
Metropolitan Region (JMR) is officially known as Jabodetabek, a name formed by combining the
initial syllables of 6 independent municipalities: Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi. This
huge urban agglomeration with more than 27 million population, or 10 percent of the population of
Indonesia, has been the most attractive area in Indonesia for both domestic and direct foreign
investments especially in the manufacturing sectors which can potentially ... Show more content on

As a result of the rapid urbanization and growing economic prosperity, motorization in Jabodetabek
has been promoted at a higher rate. The JMR, consequently, faces paralyzing traffic jams due to the
poor plans, coordination and appropriate governance at different levels, i.e. national, metropolitan,
and local levels. The region virtually has no established and formally predesigned system of
metropolitan governance such as the specific legal regulations on land use (Putra, Woltjer and Tan
2016, 171).
Review of Literature
Based on the aforementioned spatial pattern, the development practice in the fringe of Jakarta can
be characterized as an urban sprawl (Bertaud 2001). It goes without saying that such developments
would lead to quite a few negative externalities, notably environmental problems, such as the
degradation of water quality in the area due to land conversion and more pollution due to heavy
traffic congestion (Firmanlda and Dharmapatni 1994).
More importantly, however, the sprawling urban region significantly influences the social practices
of those underprivileged, impoverished people. In particular, as the city grows, the spatial
separation of city centers (such as employment) and housing affects women because they are most
frequently responsible for household related activities such as housework, shopping, medical care,
and other types of chores, both young and old (Turner 2013, 4). As women are also

Antigone Vs Duccio
The most important difference between MaestГ and Antigone is the message that each portrays to
society. Duccio di Buoninsegna s series of individualized paintings depicting the Virgin Mary
display her as a central figure that is respected and possibly worshiped by both men and women.
Sophocles play on the other hand displays female oppression through his main character and the
lack of dedication to religion by men. I think this is an important differencebecause each work of art
exposes the beliefs that each artist conveys about their individualized society. Even though there are
many distinctions between Duccio s MaestГ and Sophocles Antigone, I believe that the most
important difference is the message that each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For starters, Antigone was created in 441 BCE Athens, a city state in Ancient Greece, where the
only thing more powerful than a man s pride in Athens political system was preserving their
egos. During this time, it was evident that the women were firmly wedged underneath the thumb
of Athenian men. The playwright s tragedy encompasses this several times through his
characters. He writes, As far as she s concerned, we bear no guilt. But she s lost her place living
here with us, (Sophocles Excerpt 4). In this quote Antigone s uncle, King Creon ostracizes his
niece because she disobeyed his demands when she performed a burial custom for her brother,
Polyneices. This quote assists in proving that one of the major messages of Sophocles play is the
domination of Athenian men over women. During Sophocles life, Athenian females were not able
to attend the plays, defend themselves in court, choose who they would marry, or spend their
money freely. This idea was reinforced in his play by showing the harshness of Antigone s
treatment by King Creon, exhibiting that females were not equal and certainly did not have the
same liberties as men did. The

The Effect Of Post Discharge Mur And Nms Service
This research was performed in order to investigate the processes relating to the post discharge
MUR and NMS service and to ascertain if they were believed to impact on the patients health
outcome. It was carried out using questionnaires, distributed by hand to community pharmacists in
three boroughs of South West London. The aim of the questionnaire was to achieve a rapid
response from a diverse range of community pharmacies. This study had a response rate of 50% (59
out 118 questionnaires were received back) which was lower than originally expected. It would
appear that one of the main reasons could be attributed to time restraints of the role as many
pharmacists identified that they did not have the time to complete the questionnaire. To further
compound the lower than expected completion rate, some of the pharmacists approached were
locum pharmacists who were reluctant to participate on the basis of their limited knowledge of the
way that particular pharmacyfunctioned and their lack of familiarity with the community
surrounding the pharmacy in which they were working. Another factor which contributed to the
low response rate was that some of the returned questionnaires were not fully completed and
therefore could not be included in the data analysis.
100% of the respondents provided MUR and NMS services and just over half of the participants
52%, provided post discharge MUR/NMS. It was found from the responses that it is consistently
difficult to identify post

Hoverboards In The Film Back To The Future
Hoverboards In the movie Back to the Future Part II, (1989), the main character, Marty McFly,
rides on a hoverboard in the year 2015. Now that the year that was considered the future in the
movie has come and gone, what progress has happened in the field of hoverboards? The answer
is quite a bit, although all of the modern versions fall short of the urban sports equipment featured
in the film. Here are the top five contenders for the title of hoverboard. Self balancing smart
scooter, the first product to be mass produced with the claim of being a hoverboard, is in fact not
much more than a Segway without the handle. This hoverboard does not actually hover but runs on
two wheels, utilizing a self balancing gyroscopic control system. A number of brand names are
competing for the lucrative market, despite having a bad reputation of starting on fire. ... Show more

Operating with an electromagnetic system this product actually hovers, but needs to be operated
on a conductive surface. Tony Hawk, the famous skateboarder endorses this hoverboard and is
said to have been directly involved in giving feedback to improve the second version. With its
limitations it is more likely that the Arx Pax hover engine will find other applications outside of
recreational use (Allain, 2015). Lexus, the car manufacturer has successfully created a hoverboard
to be featured in an advertisement, but does not intend to mass produce them. The board operates
on a system of superconductors cooled by liquid nitrogen, known as flux pinning. This process
requires a track of magnets and has no real world functionality (Allain, 2015). Omni, moves us
away from future replacements for skateboards and into the realm of flying platforms, Omni s
prototype is essentially a platform on a quadcopter drone. It flies, you stand on it and it looks fun
but, it would not be practical in an urban environment (Allain,

Why Is Charles Kane A Good Person
I believe that Charles Foster Kane could ve been a good person, but ended going down the
wrong path. He was given a large sum of money when he became an adult, but in return basically
had his childhood stolen from him (Hughes). His mother wanted him to live the rich life instead
of in a little town where she was living and to eventually inherit her recently found fortune
(Hughes). When he was given this money, he let it take over his life and lost sense of how he
should behave. Because of this, I do not personally like Charles Kane due to how he let the money
affect his decisions.
I believe that the author portrays Charles Kane as sort of an evil man through the things he does,
but shows that Kane doesn t realize how he is behaving is wrong. One example of this would be
how he ran his newspaper company the New York Inquirer (Citizen Kane). He presented the news
in the best way possible to get as many people as he could to read it. Even if he had to lie a little
bit in the title or in the actual stories, all he cared about was being everyone s main source of
news. This however was the opposite of what he originally wanted to do which was to present
only honest and true news. One time he lied about the news was in relation to his second wife

something he did in regard to Thatcher. Walter Thatcher was a banker, so Kane wrote in the
newspaper attacking the baking business in an attempt to get back at Thatcher for taking him from
his family (Citizen Kane). This shows that Kane wasn t a very good person because Thatcher tried
his hardest to get Charles to like him, but was never successful in doing

  • 2. Equipment Responsibility in the Us. Army Equipment Responsibility The United States army values soldiers that are responsibility for their actions and equipment. Being responsibility means being Dependable arriving to work and appointments on time, keeping track of and control of equipment, meeting deadlines, being in the right place At the right time, doing the right thing at the right time. Without having accountability there is not knowing of where or in what shape your equipment is in and there for having a negative effect on a unit’s combat readiness. As a result of me leaving my TA 50 unsecured in the GCA lab I am now writing this essay for SFC Adams. It would have taking around two months of no spending to get the funds I would need to buy just the equipment that I lost. Not to mention the shipping and handling as none of these items can purchase a post PX. Such an event as losing my TA 50 would also result in me having to barrow my battle buddies gear so I can perform training that is required for my job as a soldier. I would also receive Negative counseling statements and very possible an Article 15. If I received a company grade article 15 I could lose more money, I could be reduced to the pay grade of E 1, PVT. I could also be restricted to the Camp Humphrey’s Garrison for up to two weeks and have to perform extra duties for fourteen days. And have to stand before the Bn Commander LTC. Joel Kain II. Who stated at the Pacific Guardian day that he had little torolarnce for service members who sham out on their obligations and responsibility. For all of the reasons I have listed above, financially hardship, a disregard of the seven United states army values, a disregard for my unit, a disregard for my fellow service members, my sworn obligation I took at my re enlistment into the united states army and my reputation as a soldier in the United States army. • 3. Functional Genomic Analysis of C. elegans Using RNA... Introduction Before we talk about this important experiment, do you know what a nematode is? Specifically, this experiment used Caenorhabditis elegans, C. elegans for short. C. elegans is a little worm (just like the kind you find in the ground), but has a very special place in modern biochemistry: scientists have mapped its entire genomic sequence. This sequence lets scientists know the character and location of all C. elegans genes. However, biochemists do not yet fully understand what each gene does and the goal of this experiment is to find the function of each gene within the worm. The connection between a worm s genotype and phenotype is important, because, believe it or not, human beings and worms share many of the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All eukaryotic cells get their genetic information from DNA, which are strands of nucleotides whose order conveys genetic information to the cell. Structurally, DNA looks like a ladder. A DNA strand is made up of a sugar phosphate backbone (similar to the sides of a ladder, alternating sugar and phosphate) and is connected in the middle with paired purines and pyrimidines (fancy names for four chemicals that make up the steps of the ladder). Scientists refer to the distinctive shape of DNA as a double helix. DNA replication is necessary for organisms to stay alive and reproduce. When cells replicate, the DNA must also be copied so the daughter cells contain the genetic information necessary to perform key chemical reactions. Cells have machinery that read the information in DNA and use these instructions to make proteins. To make proteins, the DNA must first unwind in order to be read. This small section is then replicated to form a single stranded RNA strand. The RNA strand then forms what is called messenger RNA or simply mRNA. The mRNA is used to make the proteins the cell needs. In some viruses, however, the genetic material is double stranded RNA (known as dsRNA), rather than DNA. These viruses inject their dsRNA into a host s cell. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Specific Phobias The most common treatment for specific phobias is a form of psychotherapy called exposure therapy, although other treatments include other therapies or medication (Andrews et al. 2009). The goal of treatment for specific phobias is to improve quality of life so that patients are no longer limited by their phobias. Exposure therapy focuses on changing the response to the object or situation feared. Gradual, repeated exposure to the source of the specific phobia and the related thoughts, feelings and sensations can help patients to learn to manage their anxiety (Andrews et al. 2009). There are many variations of exposure therapy. In vivo exposure involves confronting the phobic stimulus head on but gradually. For example, a patient suffering ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I agree with these analyses, for the most part. As mentioned in the modules, everyone has a little bit of both sides in them, but some stand out stronger than others. And when it comes to me, it really depends on the situation, at the time, as to which of my types or interests will stand out more prominently. • 7. On How Brazil Positioned Itself as the 7th Largest Economy... Introduction Brazil with a population around 201,032,714, is the largest South America s country. Brazil s most important components of its GDP are service revenues, wide industry sector and its successful agriculture. For More than two decades Brazil suffered badly from high inflation, economic decline, domestic and foreign debt. In 1993 country s Inflation reached 30 percent a month and as a result the country wouldn t sustain growth. After many unsuccessful plans to control the inflation, finally Real Plan of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, minister of finance, worked out and brought the inflation down to a single digit. Today Brazil with a GDP of $2.533 trillion is the 7th largest economy in the world and it is also considered as one of the most successful emerging countries. Despite all predictions, thanks to its huge domestic market and agriculture, the country maintained its growth in 2009 and 2010. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how Brazil, a country with an extremely high rate of inflation and low growth, positioned itself as the 7th largest economy of the world and what are the challenges that the country is facing. First of all the Real Plan of Fernando Henrique Cardoso and how it helped the country to stabilize its economy and drop down the inflation rate will be discussed. Secondly how his successor s policies, Luis InГЎcio Lula da Silva, improved country s economy. At the end the challenges that Dilma Vana Rousseff, the current president, is facing ... Hybrid agency: o There are a number of headhunting agencies that use a hybrid model, under which part of the fee is paid upfront, with the rest being contingent on filling of the position. As a candidate, you should know that headhunters are always paid by their client, which is the organisation looking to hire. This means the loyalty of the agency is on the client and not necessarily you as the candidate. This can mean headhunters aren t interested in providing any type of career counselling and other advice for you. In addition, this can mean the recruiter goes for standard candidates, who match the job description, as these are what the clients tend to prefer. Overall, headhunters are not looking for the most talented or likeable candidate. How do headhunters operate? So, what is the typical process headhunters use to find the right match? The most plant diversity of one stop, was observed in a swale (Dune Stop 2), with weed oats, wax myrtle, rushes, and dog fennel. These four plants solely appeared in the swale. Sea oats and camphorweed were the most abundant planttypes in the dunes; additionally, sea oats and camphorweed can be found in multiple dune environments. Sea oats were found in dune crests, between two troughs, and in the fore dune, having most abundance in the crests, while camphorweed was found in inter dune meadows, between two troughs, and in the fore dune, having most abundance in the inter dune meadows (Figure ). These two plants displayed significant height differences in various dune territories. In the crest, sea oats measured at a height of 105cm, but as they grow closer to the ocean, they increase by ~63cm. Keynesian economists were divided into two camps. Some believed that inflation was caused by too much demand for goods and services, or excess demand i.e. Demand Pull Inflation. Such economists were very enthusiastic about the Phillips curve because it seemed to provide strong evidence for their views. The second camp of Keynesian economists believed that inflation was caused by cost pressures arising from high wage settlements gained by strong trade unions and from increases in import prices i.e. Cost Push Inflation. They were doubtful about the usefulness of the Phillips curve. On the Nicholas Perry evidence of the Phillips curve they thought that wage inflation and unemployment could be traded off against each other, that policy makers could decide to have a bit less unemployment in exchange for accepting a bit more wage inflation or vice versa. • 32. Essay about The Theme of Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill In the story Miss Brill, an old, lonely lady spends her Sunday observing people in a park. Although ignored by everyone around her, Miss Brill manages to convince herself that she is really an integral part of the scene and would be missed if she weren t there. Her illusion is shattered by a chance remark at the end of the story, and she returns home, clearly devastated by her new understanding of her place in life. What this story is trying to illustrate is that sometimes people can be happy through living in an illusion. However, this kind of happiness is fragile and can be easily destroyed. Unfortunately, modern society does not provide a place for everyone. Inevitably, there are those people, often elderly, who become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was; she lifted her head and smiled (98). Even if she s only an observer, Miss Brill is an involved observer. She draws enjoyment from simply being in the park atmosphere. However, her enjoyment is more than a passing mood. It s actually an indication of a deeper emotion a kind of happiness. This becomes clear after Miss Brill has paid close attention to several small exchanges between people at the park. Oh how fascinating it was! How she enjoyed it! How she loved sitting here, watching it all! (99). That Miss Brill does not actually participate in anything is clear to the reader, but not to her. Vicarious involvement in other peoples lives seems to be fulfilling for her, even though there is no actual interplay with others. The most telling evidence that Miss Brill is happy (and that her happiness is based on a false impression) is when she comes to the conclusion that she s somehow needed at the park. No doubt somebody would have noticed if she hadn t been there; she was part of the performance after all... Miss Brill nearly laughed out loud (100). • 34. Essay On Critical Reflection Part one: Critical Reflection on your team as whole I believe our group has struggled from the very beginning with being organized. I think some of the difficulties started with the team strategic plan. The team would have benefited more, from an outline of information that would be presented during the final speech (Adler, Ronald B., et al., 2013). I think our organization was lacking the first day we met to work on the team strategic plan. We all pushed off the meeting because we thought we had more time and as the due date approached we quickly met up to discuss what needed to be in the strategic plan. Then asked everyone to work on it on their own time. I don t think this was the most beneficial way to divide tasks. We should have spent more time doing group work, and not assigned as much individual work (Adler, Ronald B., et al., 2013). I think we should have used part of the designated meeting times to do group work, that would have been the most beneficial for our group due to all members of the group having so much going on outside of the project, that the time would have allowed each of us to have a required/designated time to work on the project. Allowing for us to get more done, earlier on. I think the anticipation of some members to get the team strategic plan done also caused them to take on too much responsibility which affected their stress level and in return affect their quality of work. Also causing us to get a lower grade due to other minds not checking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prince of Tides is a movie about a grown woman named Savannah Wingo and she struggles with suicide and depression. She lives in New York while her brother, Tom Wingo, lives in South Carolina. Lowenstein should not have shared that kind of information to her husband. This kind of behavior violates the Code of Ethics and can result in a loss of her license. Another strong ethical issue was the huge confidentiality issues that involves Susan and Savannah s family. Susan reveals information about Savannah s sessions while she was still in a medically induced coma, so clearly there was not permission to do so from Savannah or from a legal stance. The Code of Ethics prohibits this kind of behavior and as a social worker is not acceptable. Fourth ethical issue I spotted was the relationship was deepened when Dr. Lowenstein asked Tom to coach her son in football. This is an indicator of a dual relationship that should be prohibited. Football is a contact sport and this created a relationship between Tom and Susan s son. The relationship escalated as Tom and the son we rolling around in the grass and became close as summer went on. This is an unreasonable distance between client and Susan s personal life. If this was a social work colleague, my ethical responsibility would to be consider both parties and approach the colleague to gather information and get a better understanding of the situation. • 42. Ancient Egyptian Civilization The ancient Egyptian civilization is arguably the oldest civilization in the world. It is believed to have emerged around 5,500 years ago, although some scholars have estimated an even earlier date. During the predynastic period the Egyptians were not united, but as the Sahara desert expanded many people began moving their settlements around the Nile River. These settlements started coming together to form towns. As these towns progressed they developed many new ideas to help the society run smoother. However the total unification and start of the ancient Egyptian civilization did not happen, until Hierakonpolis expanded and conquered Naqada. The ancient Egyptian civilization was now created. Since this civilization was one of the first in the world, there was no structure to start with. In order to function as a thriving civilization, the Egyptians had to accomplish agricultural, architectural, medical, and educational advancements. The ancient Egyptian s advancements in agriculture is one of the driving forces that lead to the success of their empire. The Egyptian civilization came together because of the need for fertile soil and a constant supply of water. Although the Nile was a constant supply of water, the Egyptians still needed to find a way to bring the water to their crops. Similarities And Differences In Ancient Greece In this essay two Ancient Greek city states (polies) will be compared and contrasted showing how despite their differences, they both rose to become predominating powers. Ancient Greece consisted of many small city states, two of which were Athens and Sparta. Athens was considered the center of fine arts, music, and educational opportunities. Spartawas known for its outstanding military strength and tactical abilities at war. Life for a Spartiate was comprised of constant training and conditioning for war, while an Athenian citizen would spend much of their day pursuing what they wished. Although these two city states were substantially different, they both rose to become the two most predominant powers in Ancient Greece. There were several advantages and disadvantages to each of these two polies. Their societal structures were relatively similar, and their governments were exact opposites. Athens was a very artistic and philosophical city state while Spartan culture revolved more around the training of men for war and stability of the government. Spartans valued organization and stability, while Athenians comparatively valued freedom of choice. There were also huge gender biases between the two polies, and through all of this, traditions and beliefs have been passed down to our generations today, helping to shape the world we live in. To begin with the simplest societal structure of these two poleis. Spartan society was divided into three main classes. At the top was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because the markets abroad are much more competitive than in America where it is a slayer of small businesses, except for fresh produce sellers. Internationally, the retailer operates in Mexico, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, China, Korea, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Its expansion strategy internationally has been aggressive and powerful. The latest expansion strategy is for the company to gain entry into a nation by corporate takeover of a national retailer. The region virtually has no established and formally predesigned system of metropolitan governance such as the specific legal regulations on land use (Putra, Woltjer and Tan 2016, 171). Review of Literature Based on the aforementioned spatial pattern, the development practice in the fringe of Jakarta can be characterized as an urban sprawl (Bertaud 2001). More importantly, however, the sprawling urban region significantly influences the social practices of those underprivileged, impoverished people. • 53. Antigone Vs Duccio The most important difference between MaestГ and Antigone is the message that each portrays to society. Duccio di Buoninsegna s series of individualized paintings depicting the Virgin Mary display her as a central figure that is respected and possibly worshiped by both men and women. Sophocles play on the other hand displays female oppression through his main character and the lack of dedication to religion by men. I think this is an important differencebecause each work of art exposes the beliefs that each artist conveys about their individualized society. Even though there are many distinctions between Duccio s MaestГ and Sophocles Antigone, I believe that the most important difference is the message that each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For starters, Antigone was created in 441 BCE Athens, a city state in Ancient Greece, where the only thing more powerful than a man s pride in Athens political system was preserving their egos. During this time, it was evident that the women were firmly wedged underneath the thumb of Athenian men. The playwright s tragedy encompasses this several times through his characters. He writes, As far as she s concerned, we bear no guilt. But she s lost her place living here with us, (Sophocles Excerpt 4). In this quote Antigone s uncle, King Creon ostracizes his niece because she disobeyed his demands when she performed a burial custom for her brother, Polyneices. This quote assists in proving that one of the major messages of Sophocles play is the domination of Athenian men over women. During Sophocles life, Athenian females were not able to attend the plays, defend themselves in court, choose who they would marry, or spend their money freely. This idea was reinforced in his play by showing the harshness of Antigone s treatment by King Creon, exhibiting that females were not equal and certainly did not have the same liberties as men did. • 54. The Effect Of Post Discharge Mur And Nms Service This research was performed in order to investigate the processes relating to the post discharge MUR and NMS service and to ascertain if they were believed to impact on the patients health outcome. It was carried out using questionnaires, distributed by hand to community pharmacists in three boroughs of South West London. The aim of the questionnaire was to achieve a rapid response from a diverse range of community pharmacies. This study had a response rate of 50% (59 out 118 questionnaires were received back) which was lower than originally expected. It would appear that one of the main reasons could be attributed to time restraints of the role as many pharmacists identified that they did not have the time to complete the questionnaire. To further compound the lower than expected completion rate, some of the pharmacists approached were locum pharmacists who were reluctant to participate on the basis of their limited knowledge of the way that particular pharmacyfunctioned and their lack of familiarity with the community surrounding the pharmacy in which they were working. Another factor which contributed to the low response rate was that some of the returned questionnaires were not fully completed and therefore could not be included in the data analysis. 100% of the respondents provided MUR and NMS services and just over half of the participants 52%, provided post discharge MUR/NMS. It was found from the responses that it is consistently difficult to identify post ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. Hoverboards In The Film Back To The Future Hoverboards In the movie Back to the Future Part II, (1989), the main character, Marty McFly, rides on a hoverboard in the year 2015. Now that the year that was considered the future in the movie has come and gone, what progress has happened in the field of hoverboards? The answer is quite a bit, although all of the modern versions fall short of the urban sports equipment featured in the film. Here are the top five contenders for the title of hoverboard. Self balancing smart scooter, the first product to be mass produced with the claim of being a hoverboard, is in fact not much more than a Segway without the handle. This hoverboard does not actually hover but runs on two wheels, utilizing a self balancing gyroscopic control system. A number of brand names are competing for the lucrative market, despite having a bad reputation of starting on fire. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Operating with an electromagnetic system this product actually hovers, but needs to be operated on a conductive surface. Tony Hawk, the famous skateboarder endorses this hoverboard and is said to have been directly involved in giving feedback to improve the second version. With its limitations it is more likely that the Arx Pax hover engine will find other applications outside of recreational use (Allain, 2015). Lexus, the car manufacturer has successfully created a hoverboard to be featured in an advertisement, but does not intend to mass produce them. The board operates on a system of superconductors cooled by liquid nitrogen, known as flux pinning. This process requires a track of magnets and has no real world functionality (Allain, 2015). Omni, moves us away from future replacements for skateboards and into the realm of flying platforms, Omni s prototype is essentially a platform on a quadcopter drone. It flies, you stand on it and it looks fun but, it would not be practical in an urban environment (Allain, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. Why Is Charles Kane A Good Person I believe that Charles Foster Kane could ve been a good person, but ended going down the wrong path. He was given a large sum of money when he became an adult, but in return basically had his childhood stolen from him (Hughes). His mother wanted him to live the rich life instead of in a little town where she was living and to eventually inherit her recently found fortune (Hughes). When he was given this money, he let it take over his life and lost sense of how he should behave. Because of this, I do not personally like Charles Kane due to how he let the money affect his decisions. I believe that the author portrays Charles Kane as sort of an evil man through the things he does, but shows that Kane doesn t realize how he is behaving is wrong. One example of this would be how he ran his newspaper company the New York Inquirer (Citizen Kane). He presented the news in the best way possible to get as many people as he could to read it. Even if he had to lie a little bit in the title or in the actual stories, all he cared about was being everyone s main source of news. This however was the opposite of what he originally wanted to do which was to present only honest and true news. One time he lied about the news was in relation to his second wife Susan Alexander. She was not a very skilled operasinger as told by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Charles went into the newspaper business, his true colors were shown by something he did in regard to Thatcher. Walter Thatcher was a banker, so Kane wrote in the newspaper attacking the baking business in an attempt to get back at Thatcher for taking him from his family (Citizen Kane). This shows that Kane wasn t a very good person because Thatcher tried his hardest to get Charles to like him, but was never successful in doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
