Art Compare Contrast Essay
After reading over chapters fifteen through twenty they describe when and where art was used the
most. Art was used in many cultures in different time periods as the years, centuries pasted art became
more advances and more complex. People used what they could find to make something out of it.
I learned that the earliest form of art began in Africa approximately two million years ago. It was
interesting to find out that the work of art was an engraved ochre that had lines as if it was crossed
hatches (Page 241). I also found out that other pieces of art were discovered from cave paintings to
human like figurines either carved or molded by clay. Egypt had similar views their art was many of
humans most higher ranking. Later, Greece began creating work of art that honored an individual s
achievements that consisted of a life sized, freestanding either nude male or clothed woman. Most of
their art involved classical art which meant it restrained emotion (256 257). Then along came the
Romans which their art was tied into architecture and the engineering. They created structure such as,

nature or action in the paintings but instead on a canvas or wall the paintings are on a handscroll, they
even have style they use is called literati painting. Then I found out that in Islamic art they do not have
any human figures only patterns that seem to never end. Lastly, I read that in Africa they make
carvings into masks or a post, some post tells stories of either the village or certain things that one
should know along with Africa, Oceania and Australia they have very similar art ways but in Easter

The Impact Of Media On Female Athletes
threatening female athlete (Rowe, 2004:??). Females very rarely receive more coverage than males,
despite their efforts and achievements being equivalent (Weter and Canni, 2013). This is evident in the
sport sections of newspapers as well as other forms of mediated sport. Often only a minute portion, if
any, of a newspaper page is utilised for the representation of female athletes. Media personnel attempt
to permeate ideologies to wider society through the use of media texts, often legitimising the notion
that sports are naturally an activity for males. This is achieved by displaying many images of
physically powerful men (George et al, 2001: ) who depict the ideals and values of muscular
Christianity. Boyle and Haynes, (2009:122), explain that due to biological differences between men
and women that have been socially established, females are very rarely represented showing muscles
and being physically powerful. George et al, (2001: ), explain that this organisation of society can be
seen throughout history and has been prominent for many years. The Victorian legacy, as explained by
Boyle and Haynes (2009:123), where by female physical ability, emotional state and limitations
inflicted by society to participate in sport, can still be seen in modern society. Majendie, (2015),
produced a media text for the Independent about the gold medal winner Jessica Ennis Hill. In this
particular text she is initially referred to as the golden girl . Bruce, (2015: ),

Balancing The Four Bottom Lines
Balancing The Four Bottom Lines In Small Business There are numerous reasons why an individual
decided to become an entrepreneur. Naturally, one of the purposes of founding a business is to
generate income for the entrepreneur (Hoffman Casnocha, 2012). However, it is also understood there
is more to gauging the success of a venture than purely just the profitability, or bottom line (Hoffman
Casnocha, 2012). In a concept noted as The Four Bottom Lines, success is gauged on more humanistic
criteria (Katz Green, 2013). The four bottom lines are referred to as The firm, Community, Family,
and Yourself (Katz Green, 2013). The thought behind The four bottom lines concept is to measure an

While Mrs. Lopez was, understandably, unwilling to discuss the financials of her business, it is

Assume for the moment that the Chinese had not ended their maritime voyages in 1433. How might

How does this chapter distinguish among the various kinds of societies that comprised the world of

Several changes would undoubtedly have surprised a knowledgeable observer, including the
emergence of Islam;
the revival of China and Western Europe;
the collapse of the Byzantine Empire;
the emergence of Russia and the spread of Christianity into that region;
the emergence of states in Southeast Asia;
the emergence of Japan;
the emergence of powerful empires in West Africa.
However, some features would still be recognizable, such as the persistence of Paleolithic, agricultural
village, and herding societies;
the continuance, albeit at a more intense rate, of long distance commerce and exchange;
the persistence of broad cultural traditions, especially in the Mesoamerican, Andean, Chinese,
European, and Indian civilizations.
4.
A global traveler of the fifteenth century might have predicted that Islam, Buddhism, and perhaps
Christianity would continue to spread;
that the established cultural regions of China, India, the Islamic world, Christian Europe, the Andes,
and Mesoamerica would continue to develop and expand;
that long distance commerce and exchange would continue to have an important impact on the
development of civilizations;
that empires would continue to have a growing influence on world history;
that the regions occupied by Paleolithic, agricultural village, and herding societies would continue to
shrink.

Who Is Javert A Hero
Victor Hugo wrote a captivating novel in the early 1860 s that still mesmerizes audiences of young
and old. It not only keeps the reader asking for more with its intrinsic love story, but shows the not so
beautiful side of the post French Revolution era. When Victor Hugo was writing Les Miserables he
wanted the audience to note the flawed justice system, and how law was point blank. Javert the
Inspector exemplified how the law was much more than his black and white philosophy. Despite that
Javert was the most unwavering character as he never strayed from his moral compass. Javert
embodied this trait in the novel by becoming a gendarme even with his trials and tribulations, using
Jean Valjean as his compass, and staying true to himself. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Summary Of Gangs Of New York
In the opening scene of Gangs of New York we see two rival gangs in the slums of Five Points; paired
against one another. One gang is led by amsterdam s father portrayed as Liam Neeson and the other by
a man with a dark and unique mustache, who is later known as Bill the Butcher . The gangs begin an
all out war and many characters are shown violently dying and bleeding profusely. Liam Neeson is
slain at the hands of Bill the Butcher. We see Mr. Vallon s son portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio
watching the battle intensely. We watch as the boy, Amsterdam, sees his father die on the battlefield.
Sixteen years later Amsterdam returns to Five Points and retrieves the knife used to kill his father, that
he had hidden before leaving New York. Amsterdam is later introduced to Bill, who is the leader of all
the gangs, but keeps his identity a secret so that he will be added to the gangs to avenge his father s
death; by learning all the secrets of the gangs, later becoming Bill s right hand man. As Amsterdam
begins to gain Bill s trust, he learns more and more secrets of why his father was initially killed. He
learns of Bill s weaknesses and figures out strategies to complete his revenge. In the end of the movie
Amsterdam gets his revenge by killing the gang members with a gang of his own made up by the
people of Five Points, which includes, near the end of the battle, stabbing Bill the Butcher. Bill s gang

A Brief Note On The Primary Function Of Exec
Lab 2
CSNB324
Muath Abdullah SN091649
Answer Q1:
Execv(): it is a prototype of exec family, v is added to indicate the type of argument which in this case
specified as a vector (array of character pointers). The primary function of exec () system call is to
execute a file or a program. This is done by creating a new process image from a regular, executable
file.
This file is either an interpreter script or an executable file object. It has the form execv(char *path,
char *argv[], char *envp[]). The path argument is the pathname of a file that contains the new program
to be executed. The argv array is a list of parameter strings, and the envp array is a list of environment
variable strings and values that should be used when the process begins executing the new programs.
When a process encounters the execve() system call, the next instruction it executes will be the one at
the entry point of the new executable file.
Execvp()
The created child process does not have to run the same program as the parent process does. The exec
type system calls allow a process to run any program files, which include a binary executable or a
shell script. On this page, we only discuss one such system call: execvp(). The execvp() system call
requires two arguments: 1. The first argument is a character string that contains the name of a file to
be executed.
2. The second argument is a pointer to an array of character strings. More precisely, its type is char
**, which is exactly identical to the

The Concepts Of Nature Vs Nurture
The concepts of Nature vs Nurture, are major concepts in social science. Nature is the hereditary
pattern of physical features in a human being s development. These features include, but are not
limited to, our personality, usual and unusual appearances and the general measurements of how
humans hold the attributes of being sociable, hostile behavior, their emotions, and the usage of alcohol
and drugs. On the other hand Nurture is slightly different. Nurture is the influence of the environment
that plays upon the behavior and characteristics in a human. The idea of nurture is that humans will
grow up to form their personality on the way they are raised and life experiences. Culture is defined
by the people in the environment, however, the environment helps shape and form human
personalities in order to forge a culture. Culture is created by religions/beliefs, clothing/foods,
language/social habits as well as the humanistic discipline; such as music, paintings, literature, and
many more. Culture is generated by humankind, because humans hold their belief systems and
patterns that was passed down by generations; by humans passing down what they have learned from
their families this begins to create a culture. Personality plays a central role in both nature vs nurture
and culture. Furthermore, personality is stated the total organization of inherited and acquired
characteristics of an individual as evidenced by the individual s behavior (Hunt 119). Personality is

Pros And Cons Of The 1920s
After WWI, the United States entered an era of conservative values and a supposed return to
normalcy. The 1920s were marked by a desire to return to the way of life before the left leaning
reforms of the Progressive Era and WWI. However, the nation was not unified during the decade.
Many rifts began to form in American society and economy. The 1920s were marked by discord
among many Americans in the areas of immigration, religion, and with the issue of socialism, marked
especially by the Red Scare. When it came to the topic of immigration, nativists largely won during
the 1920s. In response to nativist demands, the government introduced literacy tests in 1917. This
measure to restrict immigration helped pave the way for even more strict regulations in the 1920s.
Beginning in 1920, the government began to introduce quotas to further regulate immigration. While
President Wilson was opposed to such regulations, newly elected President Harding was in favor of
them. Under Harding, quotas became increasingly strict over the first half of the decade, culminating
with the Immigration Act of 1924. The Act restricted anyone who was ineligible for becoming a
citizen of the United States from even immigrating into the county. People of Asian descent, for
instance, were previously restricted from becoming US citizens and were therefore unable to even
immigrate into the country under the Act. Because of these restrictions, immigration rates plummeted.
Nativism was rampant in

related to the fact that the original film was the first movie she ever saw in theater. Thus, I was raised

Overall diversity in college campuses has been held back with the SAT because of its unfair standards.
In an article called These Four Charts Show How the SAT Favors Rich, Educated Families. written by

lower education. Keep in mind that the article was published by The Washington Post which has won

Summary Of Valmiki s Ramayana

Midterm Essay
Valmiki s Ramayana has transcended being simply a folktale, and has manifested itself into an
embodiment of virtues. It has great influence over the expectation of a women in the society; the
status and the ideal itself has been conferred upon them by the Ramayana which depict Sita as the
ideal wife worthy of being emulated by Hindu women. There is a similar, recurring pattern that seems
to unfold for any women depicted in the Ramayana who actively stray beyond this idea model. These
women, particularly Tataka, Shurpanakha and Ahalya, are depicted as creatures that conclude in

Shurpanakha is a demon from Lanka, who speaks with sharp directness, and isn t hesitant to use her
sexual power as a tactic of getting what she wants. Ahalya, though she slightly varies from Tataka and
Shurpanakha, is still undeniably influenced by the forests temptations. In the earliest, full narrative,
when Indra comes disguised as her husband, Ahalya sees through his disguise, but consents owing to
her curiosity . In another interpretation, Ahalya s pride in her beauty compels her to continue, but in
both cases she doesn t deny her impulses and consciously acts on it.
In each of their respective narratives, the three women share a moment where they fall from grace ,
and part from their virtues. In the Ramayana, physical beauty is so intimately correlated to holiness
and godliness. For example, when Rama is being described, there is extraordinary amount of detail
and attention given to the description of his appearance; sentences on sentences just about the
statuesque form of Rama s arms. It is undeniable that physical appearance is a direct mirror of the
character s inner disposition. The women are originally described as having unparalleled beauty. It s
only when they part from what is considered virtuous, do they transform and lose their physical
appeal. In Tataka s case, she was once a beautiful princess whose falling moment was when she chose
to seek out revenge, and allow herself to be engulfed in utter rage. She was

The Development of Marketing and the Marketing Process
Having a well planned out strategy created by your marketing team is essential to your organization s
success. IT will help you to achieve that goals that you set for the organization and help in attaining
the profitability that every business person wants to achieve.
But before we get into how marketing came about and how it evolved we have to understand what
marketing is and what marketing has made marketing as we know it today. According to the American
Marketing Association, marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating,
communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners,
and society at large (American Marketing Association, 2013, para. 1) With that being said marketing
really started to show up in the early 1900 s when people started to realize that there was a correlation
between buying power and demand. In addition to the correlation it was realized that buying power
and demand could be manipulated in favor of the seller with the help of advertising. The sellers were
realizing that they could take their products and pare it with a perceived value and more people would
be attracted to it and purchase the products or services.
Well now that we know that sellers could add value to their products

Furthermore, when people alter their behaviors, it sometimes becomes impossible to know when a
person is truly being themselves. This type of playing the part leads into the sociological theory
known as Dramaturgy. Dramaturgy was first theorized by Erving Goffman. Goffman believed that
people conduct themselves differently in different situations to appear in some way that is
advantageous, kind of like actors playing different characters in films. For instance, there was a group
of teenagers who were taking lots of pictures with each other. However, one boy was just off to the

jumped into one of the pictures with his friends and began taking more pictures. After they all took

Review Of The Magnum Opus East Of Eden
Sins of the Father
Parents are ultimately responsible in their choice to have children. However, the roles that those
parents have in shaping the lives of their children is entirely up for debate. There is no set guide for
how you raise your children. As a result, we see a wide range of involvement from smothering to
entirely absent. In Steinbeck s magnum opus East of Eden, the influence of father figures on Adam
Trask as well as the resulting effects on Adam s children is explored. The figures in his life only serve
as guiding hands, but the choices he makes are his to make freely.

when Cyrus favored Adam s puppy over charles pocket knife for no discernable reason. Charles

Amylase is an enzyme, produced by plants, animals, and microorganisms, that is used to break down

starch molecules into polymers composed of glucose units, which are used to create glucose, fructose

which are the primary energy source for the human body. Amylase is of particular interest to me

Eye Doctors or O.D. s, have to provide there services in order to meet the demands. Optometrists have
to be well educated and friendly people.
All States and the District of Columbia require that optometrists be licensed, which requires a Doctor
of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school and passing both a written and a clinical
State board examination. Licenses are renewed every one to three years and in all states, continuing
education credits are needed for renewal. The Doctor of Optometry degree requires a four year
program proceeded by at least 3 years of study before they even start. ... Show more content on

Employment growth will be fastest in retail optical stores and out patient clinics. Employment of
optometrists would grow more rapidly were it not for anticipated productivity gains that will allow
each optometrist to see more patients. These gains will result from greater use of optometry assistants
and other support personnel, and the introduction of new equipment and procedures. New surgical
procedures using lasers are available that can correct some vision problems, but they remain
expensive. In addition to growth, the need to re lace optometrists who leave the occupation will create
employment opportunities. Relatively few opportunities from this source are expected, however,
because most optometrists continue to practice until they retire; few transfer to other occupations.
Optometrists held about 38,000 jobs in 1998. The number of jobs is greater than the number of
practicing optometrists because some optometrists hold two or more jobs. For example, an optometrist
may have a private practice, but also work in another practice, clinic, or vision care center. According
to the American Optometric Association, about two thirds of practicing optometrists are in private
practice. Although many optometrists practice alone, a growing number are in a partnership or group
practice. Some optometrists work as salaried employees of other optometrists or of ophthalmologists,
hospitals,

Given To Fly Eddie Vedder Meaning
In 1991 when Eddie Vedder wrote and performed his album Ten, he knew he was competing with the
big time grunge band; Nirvana. Once it hit the stage it was clear there was no competition. Eddie s
deep, emotional messages throughout this album, his shaky, raspy voice that transfers from screaming
lyrics to soft, poetic like speaking. All tied together with his hard to hate persona that can be heard
throughout this album and every album made by Eddie Vedder.
In the song Given To Fly Eddie says He got up out of there, ran for hundreds of miles / He made it to
the ocean, had a smoke in a tree / The wind rose up, set him down on his knee. In this verse Eddie is
describing his life and how he needs to get away from it all and just have a peaceful break, alone.
Vedder likes to use his life in third person in most of his songs to make his message more distant, and
almost more easily relatable. The song Given To Fly is actually a second or a reference to the song
Going to California By Led Zeppelin and how just leaving might help out more than anything.
Throughout the album there are several different songs with an abundance of different meanings. The
song, Alive, has one of the deepest messages that is tied to his life personally. The song is about a boy
that finds out that who he thought was his father, is actually his stepfather and his real father is dead.
Eddie said the song is a work of fiction based on reality (SK) . When Vedder was born his mom had
left his father and

The Victorian period formally begins in 1837 and ends in 1901. The Victorian era was from 1832
1901, which was a period of dramatic change in the world over, and especially in England. with the
rapid extension of colonialism through large portions of Africa, Asia, and the West Indies, making
England a prominent center of world power and relocating the perceived center of Western
Civilization from Paris to London. The population of London, exceeded from 2 million to 6.5 million
during the Victorian era. This era evidenced a marked change due to industrialization away from a
way of life based on the ownership of land to a modern urban economy based on trade and
manufacturing.
The church had the significant impact on people s life during the Renaissance. If we want to compare
between the literature during the two periods, Victorian era and Renaissance we can see that the style
of writers by writing their books, novels and theaters were different. In Victorian era Lord Tennyson
(1809 1892) one of the most important and representative voices of this changing age of this era. As
Poet Tennyson until his death, he gave voice to the sentiments of his time in carefully crafted narrative
poetry. While in renaissance era Shakespeare got the prominent place in English

Motif Of Memento Mori
Memento mori motif in Baroque art
Tianyao Wang
Introductionīŧš
Memento mori in Latin means remember that you have to die .[1] It s the medieval Latin Christian
theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of
earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits. [2] In art, memento mori are
artistic or symbolic reminders of mortality.[3] For example, the Danse Macabre , also known as the
Dance of Death is as artist genre in the medium of paintings, frescoes and even in the musical settings
closely related to the Memento mori motif. Danse Macabre can be traced back to Late Middle Ages
which was about allegory on the universality of death. The visual example of Danse ... Show more

Above his heads , there is a very slim halo, which in the shape of a ring, with only half of it can be
seen ambiguously and the other half melted into dark. His head was almost bald with salt and pepper

Jerome s left hand took the edge of one open book and the right hand stretched naturally on the table
with a pen in his hand. For there is no additional paper under the pen, the pe should be used to make
notes and commentary on the book. On the left side of the table, we can see white cloth laying down
the table, above which two books overlapped upon. And upon the books, a skull is laid on it. The skull
symbol is the most common memento mori element. When it appears in the portraiture, it also reflects
person s own meditation and research on the mortality, death and the related staff.
This painting exemplifies many of the characteristics of Caravaggio s paintings, which is typical in the
Baroque period.
There are plenty of details which can illustrate Caravaggio s realism. The latter book on the left side is

An Assessment Into The Bankruptcy Examiner s Report...
The purpose of this memo is to provide an assessment into the Bankruptcy Examiner s report
regarding the risk management failure as it relates to Leman Brothers. The fundamental reason for the
failure is based on the change in corporate strategy of 2006 in which Lehman decided to shift from a
moving or securitization business to a storage business, with the firm making and holding longer term,
risk investments. This strategic positioning was fully supported by the board, although the chief risk
officer and certain senior risk management executives had expressed concerns about the extent of the
change to the firm s risk appetite.
Strategy Impact:
While investment banks are in the business of taking calculated risks they must consider risk within
the firms risk appetite. In March 2006 Lehman Brothers adopted a new business strategy to grow its
proprietary business from a lower risk brokerage model to a higher risk, capital‐intensive banking
model with a focus on expanding three specific areas of principal investment: commercial real estate,
leveraged loans and private equity businesses to consume more capital. This strategy was risky due to
the firm s high leverage and small equity. This impacted their risk taking significantly because this
strategy was generally riskier and more illiquid than their traditional lines of business. As some
Lehman officers described it, Lehman shifted from focusing almost exclusively on the moving
business a business strategy of

Data Classification Of Neuro Fuzzy Link Based...
To predict the links in the dataset we have used the Fuzzy Link Based Classification algorithm a
subpart of Neuro Fuzzy Link Based Classification algorithm, which is a combination on the
Feedforward Neural Networks (FFNet) Backpropagation techniques and fuzzy logic. FFNet was
inspired from the neural system the human body. In this chapter we will first explain about the system
design involved in setting up the network followed by explaining the FFNet and Backpropagation
algorithm, explain the reasons for using the algorithm and then discuss about how we worked on our
dataset and the steps involved in obtaining the desired output.
5.1 System Design
From selecting the dataset to be worked on to data classification and link prediction, many steps are
involved in like clustering data, classification of data, data extraction etc. These steps are performed in
a proper order as mentioned in the below figure of System architecture.
Fig 5.1 System Architecture [9]
Initially the dataset must be selected to retrieve the data so that classification can be performed.
In user interface model data is retrieved from the dataset and represented in a readable format. On this
data pattern recognition and analysis can be performed.
In clustering and classification phase dissimilar data is differentiated from similar data. In our project
this step can be omitted because the dataset is already in the form of a CSV file, divided according to
the respective link types.

spoke about the difficulties of race relations and brought attention to what blacks went through to get
to where they are today. Martin Luther King Jr. was a respected figure and had a dream for equality
among blacks and whites. King liked the message that this book provided. Van Woodward writes
striking incongruities appeared between the needs and moods of the black ghetto and the goals and
strategies of the civil rights crusade, as typified by the leadership of Martin Luther King Jr., and
voiced in his lyrical dream (Van Woodward, 193). In 1896, the court case of Plessy vs. Ferguson ruled
that the states had the right to legally segregate public facilities. This court ruling fueled the fire of
Southerners in regards to race relations, leading to the Jim Crow laws. These laws went as far as to say
blacks could not cut a white person s hair, drink from the same water fountain as a white person, and
established a test for blacks to take prior to getting a ballot. The Strange Career of Jim Crow is a book
that opens reader s eyes to obstacles that black people faced during this period of time. Van Woodward
does an excellent job in this book illustrating history. He provides factual and vivid examples of the
racism that blacks faced in their fight for equality. It is obvious that this is a well written book in that it

Capacity issues are something hospitals are facing more and more every day. Patients who have been
admitted wait sometimes for hours up to days for a bed to open up on an inpatient unit. This delay
takes up bed space and resources in the Emergency Department leading to increased delays for others

The Green Revolution was a period of technological innovation in agriculture between the years 1943
and the 1970s. It was due to food becoming inadequate, and economic life became primitive and
inactive. This was a time where disease ravaged, conditions were horrible, and hunger was common.
Positively, the Green Revolution caused an increase in food supply, expansion into new technology,
and provided social mobility. On the flip side, it also caused the necessity for more labor, and
increased the need for cash incomes. The Green Revolution caused new changes in social structure.

Disadvantages Of Deficit Spending
Deficit spending is when there is an excess of government expenditures over the government revenue,
creating a shortfall that must be financed through borrowing (Deficit Spending, 2014). To put this in
other terms deficit spending is when the government needs to borrow money in order to pay for
different government programs and other items of value. In the past deficit spending has been used
when a country was facing a war or they needed to finance a building project. Deficit spending is also
used to help pull a country out of a recession. The actions taken by the government during the late
1930s and early 1940s are a prime example of deficit spending. The United States were in the middle
of the great depression and consumer spending had fallen drastically due to the number of people that
found themselves unemployed and without money. In order to combat this drastic decrease in
spending the government took on a number of projects that were meant to increase the overall
spending. In order to spend more the government would have to borrow money. Once the country was
out of the depression, and consumer spending began to grow, the idea was that the government would
be able to pay back the money that they had borrowed. In order to determine if deficit spending is
worth the cost a country needs to look at the advantages and disadvantages.
One of the major advantages of deficit spending is the amount of revenue and jobs that are created in a
time when the overall consumer

Physician Assisted Suicide For The Terminally Ill Essay
Physician assisted suicide for the terminally ill is one of the most debated policies in America.
Physician assisted suicide (PAS) is only considered a when a patient has a terminal illness and
expresses their right to end their life with a physician. This scenario typically takes place when a
patient is suffering severely from a terminal illness and it is only a matter of time before they will die.
Advocates for PAS have typically had a loved one who is or was suffering through their final stages of
life. Each individual state has specific laws and policies regarding the process of PAS; however, the
requirements for a patient to be considered for PAS are similar (Death with Dignity, n.d.).
Presently, there are currently only five states in which PAS is legally permitted: Oregon, Washington,
California, Vermont, and Montana. In 2016, there are 20 states in which PAS laws could change, so in
order to fully understand the arguments and policies regarding PAS, one must be aware of the key
terms of PAS. The term euthanasia is often used interchangeably with PAS, but they are different.
Euthanasia occurs when a physician administers life ending drugs into a patient, however, PAS occurs
when the patient administers the life ending drugs themselves with a physician s assistance (Death
with Dignity, n.d.).
With the likely increase in states that allow PAS, there are many issues with stakeholders and policies
that need to be addressed. There will undoubtedly be ongoing

Music of Robert Schumann as a New Stage in the Development...
Music of Robert Schumann as a New Stage in the Development of Romanticism
Music of Robert Schumann embodies many of the most characteristic features of German
Romanticism deep psychological insight, aspiration for the ideal, intimacy, irony and bitterness.
Advanced aesthetic tendencies of German culture in the period of 1820 40s found vivid expression in
his music. In contradictions, which are inherent in Schumann s music, reflected the complex
contradictions of the social life from his time. His music is filled with a restless, rebellious spirit that
puts him in the same line with Byron, Heine, Goethe, Wagner and others. However, the theme of
rebellion in the music of Schumann has a psychological, but very lyrical representation. Compared to
Heinrich Heine, Victor Hugo, and Ludwig Van Beethoven who viewed the world through the prism of
social injustice, Schumann did not aim towards social revolt. The greatest part of his diverse heritage
was his personal confession in music. Schumann s piano music, for instance, Kreisleriana, Op.16 and
the Symphonic Etudes, op.13, are truly a musical encyclopedia of the human soul with many nuances
and tones, with shades of colors of joy, sorrow, anguish, doubt and struggle, dreams and anxieties,
rush, despair, faith and courage.
E.T.A. Hoffmann in his writing Dichtungen und Schriften defined genius as a person who is able to
touch us, to move us mightily, the artist himself must be deeply affected in his own heart. Effective

Real Time Pcr Detection Of Hiv Viral Load
Real time PCR detection of HIV viral load
Introduction:
HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a lentivirus which is responsible for HIV infection and
eventually causes AIDS.
It s assumed that the virus has been in existence since 1930 but it s still unclear that how the virus
came into existence. There are two kinds of HIV virus, HIV 1 which causes more severe disease and
the source of transmission is a chimpanzee species Pan troglodytes whereas HIV 2 is transmitted by
Cercocebus atys, a monkey found in West Africa (Norris, 2011).
HIV binds to the CD4+ T cells because it needs CD4+ receptor to penetrate into cells. The virus
transcribes its RNA into cDNA and then integrates its DNA into the host DNA and replicates further.
It uses the DNA of CD4+ T lymphocytes and eventually ends up destroying them (Roberts, 2008).
Once it weakens the immune system, the body becomes vulnerable to various diseases and is exposed

New Media, Not Newspapers, is a Dynamic Way to Communicate
New media is dynamic. It is the emergence of the internet, social network sites to communicate, work
and advertise through the use of devices like computers, tablets and mobile phones. New media is a
powerful tool in the sense that one is able to communicate with people from all over the world and
also expand businesses. Also, it is widely used to read news articles. Nowadays, new media is
commonly used by news organisations and journalists to enhance newspapers and online news portals.
News organisations presume that with new media, they are able to establish an online news site which
could help with the organisations revenue by attracting the attention of readers towards its online news
platform.

These are the hottest social media networks now. They have been using these social media platforms
to ensure that their news site is able to bring in more readers to remain interactive. The Straits Times
used their Twitter account wisely as a sub channel to post their news stories. Twitter outlets are good
to post up a short header of the news along with its link to the online news site for the full story.
Twitter nowadays is a medium where many go to find news or updates. At the same time, they have
used the platform to bond and interact with readers. When readers know how considerate the
organisation is regarding their readers, these readers become loyal to their news site or newspapers.
Quoted from the article [1], Singaporeans are busy people and love to know what is happening in real
time... they love to follow the local media news on Twitter and why checking news is one of the top
daily behaviours... , it shows how effective the online news site is to remain interactive with their
readers. With over 200,000 followers on their Twitter [2], Straits Times is gaining recognition on the
social world which helps their online news portal to gain popularity.
With the rising demand of online news portals, The Straits Times would be able to promote its
traditional newspaper using social media. News posted on the online news portal are usually brief and
not detailed as compared to newspapers itself. News posted on online news site serve to only work as

The Effects Of Positive And Negative Police Relations
The Effect of Positive and Negative Police Community Relations
Anastasia Allen
American Public Community System
An understanding of police community relations is crucial because both positive and negative police
relations can greatly impact policing. Positive or negative police community relations can result from
a variety of factors including cooperation, race issues, corruption, fear or assurance of police, and
violence. When the community and police relations are positive, the police better understand the
community s needs and the community is more inclined to report crimes and aid the police. When
community and police relations are negative, the police do not understand the community s needs
which leads the pubic, especially those who experience high levels of crime, to feel that the police do
more harm than good.
Throughout the 20th century there have been major issues relating to poor police community
relationships. In more recent years they have been numerous problems with the police community
relations that have led to difficult situations including the Rodney King beating and the 1992 LA riots,
the Timothy Thomas shooting and the 2001 Cincinnati riots, as well as the more recent Michael
Brown shooting and 2014 Ferguson riots. In all of these situations the police community relationship
was strained and after a final straw event, rioting erupted to force a change. As seen with these
examples, many of the most explosive events resulting from poor

Stamp Act Grenville Dbq
Comment
Powered by
Hannah Johns
The Stamp Act required that British Colonists pay a tax in the form of a stamp on all printed
materials such as; land titles, licenses, playing cards, court documents, newspapers and more.
It was the idea of George Grenville in an attempt to raise a revenue from the colonies and it
became an incredibly hated tax by the colonists; one in which they would protest in extreme
measures such as, tarring and feathering tax collectors, forming mobs and rioting in the streets.
Acts such as the Currency Act and Sugar Act were passed by parliament at the request of
Grenville and were met with some resistance but not measured by the same degree as the
Stamp Act. (power point 4) (pg. 207) In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By parliamentary request Grenville
would find it necessary to pass legislation that would benefit the crown economically after the
war. The colonists grew to hate the tax because it required a greater amount of money and
strain on the rich than the poor. It was also about 70 percent more than Grenville originally
proposed and expected. After a period of salutary neglect from 1607, the founding of
Jamestown up until the end of the French and the Indian War in 1763, the colonists had
established a system of taxation and legislation on their own accord. The Stamp Act was a form
of direct parliamentary control in which the colonists felt they had established too much
distance from their Mother Country to be controlled in such a manner. Benjamin Franklin
would insist that the colonies be allowed to have representation in parliament. (pg. 212) That
thought would be countered by the British government with the idea of virtual representation.
The view of Parliament was that the British government had every right to impose

The scene opens to a fatigued Willy Loman returning home after an unsuccessful business trip. His
wife Linda, worried over Willy s state of mind and recent car accident, offers up explanations of his
current state, diverting from the thought of his senility and pressures him to rest. Willy grumbles to
Linda that their son, Biff, has yet to create a life for himself. Despite Biff s promise as a star athlete in
high school, he failed senior year math and never attended college, seeming to wander aimlessly. Biff
and his brother Happy, who are temporarily staying with Willy and Linda after Biff s unexpected
return from the west, reminisce about their childhood together in their old room; they discuss their
father s mental deterioration, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

in order to pacify him. Biff tries to tell him what happened, as Willy gets angry at his son s failure and
absorbs into a flashback of what occurred in Boston the day Biff came to see him. Willy had been
having an affair with a receptionist on one of his sales trips when Biff unexpectedly arrived at Willy s
hotel room. A stunned Biff angrily confronted his father, calling him an impostor and a fraud. From
that moment, Biff s views of his father change and set Biff adrift in life. Biff leaves the restaurant in
frustration, followed by Happy and two girls that Happy has picked up. They leave Willy behind in the
restaurant absorbed in his flashback. When they later return home, their mother angrily confronts them

The Middle Ages And The Renaissance
The Middle Ages is thought to be a time period of obliviousness by many historians, where diminutive
or no developments took place. The church was the focus of attention, and rather than a logical
outlook of the world, beliefs were concentrated around fallacies; on the other hand, the resurgence of
education and innovations that followed the Middle Ages and was branded as the Renaissance. There
have been disagreements as to whether the Renaissance is actually a isolated time period, or instead,
just a great point of the Middle Ages. The Renaissance was unquestionably a distinct time period.
With the ancient Greek and Roman people as their muse, it led to humanism views and stimulated
man to become talented in multiple areas of life. Therefore, the Renaissance man, a man who
surpassed in many areas, became protuberant. Also, the ideals of the people altered, and their religious
beliefs no longer governed their lives. Developments in all facets of life effectively enhanced. Thus,
numerous aspects led to the modification from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, a time period that
was indisputably dissimilar from the Middle Ages; and Civic Humanism became the forefront of this
time.
Throughout the Renaissance, notions and theories reformed significantly. Humanism, a vital portion of
the Renaissance, focused on nonspiritual concepts and theories and the significance of promoting
individual s thoughts and morals. This movement depicted stimulation from the early Greek and

How Interracial Marriage Affects Children
How interracial Marriage Affects Children
What do you think that your reactions would be if your sibling or friend introduced their spouse, who
happened to be from another race? Would you be taken aback? Would you never accept the situation?
If that would be the case, it is the time to face the reality.
These days, mixed color families and couples are common. I have personally seen many cases.
Interracial marriages happen everywhere. Even in Korea where people are proud of a five thousand
year of history of homogeneous population, interracial marriages occur. What is the interracial
marriage? It means marriage between different races that is a form of exogamy. The term of interracial
marriage is synonymous with interethnic marriage, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, regardless of their own inner problems with identity, there would be negative effects from
outside. The first social group that children meet is family; parents role is specially important and has
the biggest impact in their lives. Multiracial parents are different races from the child. Between
parents, a multiracial child might try to choose one identity. One parent might try to pull child in one
direction while the other parent tries to pull the child in a different direction. At times, if one parent is
not chosen, he/she gives the child negative feedback to their child. This can cause lack of supporting
that the children should get from parents, and it may influence children s emotional stability. Even
though at times parents and child agree on the child s identity, society does not accept their decision.
In both cases, children might lay blame on their parents, and it brings resentment in a family. (
Interracial Marriages ) The other problem that the children may face in the family is conflict with
relatives or siblings (Rosenblatt, Karis, and Powell). Most times, grandparents are close to the
multiracial child. However, sometimes because of their traditional views, grandparents might be afraid
of being associated with children of another color. In other words, they feel fear from being
stigmatized whey they are seen with their multiracial grandchildren. At times, the child might be
pushed the one side of the family of the parents that the

Humility In Geopolitics
The responsibility of Christians in regards to geopolitics and the mandates of the Gospel is one of
humility and leadership; humility in the sense of servanthood to the Lord, and leadership in being
beacons of light for those around us. This responsibility falls on the Christian because of our
relationship with Christ. It is a unique relationship, one that places us in a special context with those
around us.
In recalling the history of Rome, Dr. Ed Smither recounts the sack of the most powerful city in the
world at that time, documenting how the citizens became angry at the gods for not protecting them;
then, turning their anger on the Christian citizens. Yet in a powerful and widely syndicated written
work entitled City of God, Augustine of

RIAS Intellectual Assessment
The literature reviewed indicated there is an absence of consensus or discussion in the education
literature about the characteristics of high ability in different curriculum areas, relatively few practical
studies of gifted and talented enrichment education and placement of advanced learners; much of the
literature is limited and the result of individual, albeit well motivated, practice; and consequently,
evidence based policy and practice are scarce. Instead, much of the literature reflects individual
experience and/or impression. While this is important and valuable, it is different from rigorously
conducted research studies for longitudinal end results. Previous research focused on the perception of

The proposed study would be a cause and effect correlation study because I want to compare the
results of students with honors class education to those who are in special group setting (namely
gifted), where all members of their class are high achievers.
The method I would use for my study will be a quasi experimental design based on non equivalent
group design. This will be used because it requires a pretest and post test for my treatment (Gifted)
and comparison group (Honors), and I will be working with established intact groups. I chose this type
of design since I will be using comparable classrooms. I will also incorporate an auxiliary instrument
of a survey for teacher perceptions.
Mortality: This study will compare existing raw data. This will deter any threat to mortality.
Testing: Each group will be given the same computerized assessment. The assessment questions will
be taken from the district s proficiency exam for English I. These questions are categorized by
standards and have been used on previous state

  • 2. Art Compare Contrast Essay After reading over chapters fifteen through twenty they describe when and where art was used the most. Art was used in many cultures in different time periods as the years, centuries pasted art became more advances and more complex. People used what they could find to make something out of it. I learned that the earliest form of art began in Africa approximately two million years ago. It was interesting to find out that the work of art was an engraved ochre that had lines as if it was crossed hatches (Page 241). I also found out that other pieces of art were discovered from cave paintings to human like figurines either carved or molded by clay. Egypt had similar views their art was many of humans most higher ranking. Later, Greece began creating work of art that honored an individual s achievements that consisted of a life sized, freestanding either nude male or clothed woman. Most of their art involved classical art which meant it restrained emotion (256 257). Then along came the Romans which their art was tied into architecture and the engineering. They created structure such as, The Colosseum and Pantheon these structures both had similar things they had arches and columns yet, the Pantheon had a high ... Lastly, I read that in Africa they make carvings into masks or a post, some post tells stories of either the village or certain things that one should know along with Africa, Oceania and Australia they have very similar art ways but in Easter Island Moai, there is giant stone heads it s so interesting they can weigh up to 75 ... • 3. The Impact Of Media On Female Athletes threatening female athlete (Rowe, 2004:??). Females very rarely receive more coverage than males, despite their efforts and achievements being equivalent (Weter and Canni, 2013). This is evident in the sport sections of newspapers as well as other forms of mediated sport. Often only a minute portion, if any, of a newspaper page is utilised for the representation of female athletes. Media personnel attempt to permeate ideologies to wider society through the use of media texts, often legitimising the notion that sports are naturally an activity for males. This is achieved by displaying many images of physically powerful men (George et al, 2001: ) who depict the ideals and values of muscular Christianity. Boyle and Haynes, (2009:122), explain that due to biological differences between men and women that have been socially established, females are very rarely represented showing muscles and being physically powerful. George et al, (2001: ), explain that this organisation of society can be seen throughout history and has been prominent for many years. The Victorian legacy, as explained by Boyle and Haynes (2009:123), where by female physical ability, emotional state and limitations inflicted by society to participate in sport, can still be seen in modern society. Majendie, (2015), produced a media text for the Independent about the gold medal winner Jessica Ennis Hill. In this particular text she is initially referred to as the golden girl . • 4. Balancing The Four Bottom Lines Balancing The Four Bottom Lines In Small Business There are numerous reasons why an individual decided to become an entrepreneur. Naturally, one of the purposes of founding a business is to generate income for the entrepreneur (Hoffman Casnocha, 2012). However, it is also understood there is more to gauging the success of a venture than purely just the profitability, or bottom line (Hoffman Casnocha, 2012). In a concept noted as The Four Bottom Lines, success is gauged on more humanistic criteria (Katz Green, 2013). The four bottom lines are referred to as The firm, Community, Family, and Yourself (Katz Green, 2013). Mrs. Lopez is quite content with her little Java Hut Express. Although she never scaled the concept, the Java Hut has managed to keep it s door open as a single location concept. While Mrs. Lopez was, understandably, unwilling to discuss the financials of her business, it is publicly available the enterprise nets $500,000 USD per year ( Manta , 2016). Community. The Java Hut Express is one of the most popular small businesses in the town of 62,000 in which it resides. The Java Hut s owner uses her business as a soap box to display messages she finds important such as All Lives Matters banners and flags. According to Mrs. Lopez this helps her feel like she is a part of the community, rather than just a fixture within it. She also employs three local high school students, working with the youth seems to be something she enjoys. Family. Mrs. Lopez cites wanting to spend time with her family a chief factor in determining the personal feasibility of her business. When her children were still in school, she missed getting them ready in the mornings as the coffee shoppe requires her to be their very early in the morning. Self. It not only keeps the reader asking for more with its intrinsic love story, but shows the not so beautiful side of the post French Revolution era. When Victor Hugo was writing Les Miserables he wanted the audience to note the flawed justice system, and how law was point blank. Javert the Inspector exemplified how the law was much more than his black and white philosophy. Despite that Javert was the most unwavering character as he never strayed from his moral compass. A Brief Note On The Primary Function Of Exec Lab 2 CSNB324 Muath Abdullah SN091649 Answer Q1: Execv(): it is a prototype of exec family, v is added to indicate the type of argument which in this case specified as a vector (array of character pointers). The primary function of exec () system call is to execute a file or a program. This is done by creating a new process image from a regular, executable file. This file is either an interpreter script or an executable file object. It has the form execv(char *path, char *argv[], char *envp[]). The path argument is the pathname of a file that contains the new program to be executed. The argv array is a list of parameter strings, and the envp array is a list of environment variable strings and values that should be used when the process begins executing the new programs. When a process encounters the execve() system call, the next instruction it executes will be the one at the entry point of the new executable file. Execvp() The created child process does not have to run the same program as the parent process does. The exec type system calls allow a process to run any program files, which include a binary executable or a shell script. On this page, we only discuss one such system call: execvp(). The execvp() system call requires two arguments: 1. The first argument is a character string that contains the name of a file to be executed. 2. The second argument is a pointer to an array of character strings. More precisely, its type is char **, which is exactly identical to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Concepts Of Nature Vs Nurture The concepts of Nature vs Nurture, are major concepts in social science. Nature is the hereditary pattern of physical features in a human being s development. These features include, but are not limited to, our personality, usual and unusual appearances and the general measurements of how humans hold the attributes of being sociable, hostile behavior, their emotions, and the usage of alcohol and drugs. On the other hand Nurture is slightly different. Nurture is the influence of the environment that plays upon the behavior and characteristics in a human. The idea of nurture is that humans will grow up to form their personality on the way they are raised and life experiences. Culture is defined by the people in the environment, however, the environment helps shape and form human personalities in order to forge a culture. Culture is created by religions/beliefs, clothing/foods, language/social habits as well as the humanistic discipline; such as music, paintings, literature, and many more. Culture is generated by humankind, because humans hold their belief systems and patterns that was passed down by generations; by humans passing down what they have learned from their families this begins to create a culture. Personality plays a central role in both nature vs nurture and culture. Furthermore, personality is stated the total organization of inherited and acquired characteristics of an individual as evidenced by the individual s behavior (Hunt 119). Personality is either ... • 12. Pros And Cons Of The 1920s After WWI, the United States entered an era of conservative values and a supposed return to normalcy. The 1920s were marked by a desire to return to the way of life before the left leaning reforms of the Progressive Era and WWI. However, the nation was not unified during the decade. Many rifts began to form in American society and economy. The 1920s were marked by discord among many Americans in the areas of immigration, religion, and with the issue of socialism, marked especially by the Red Scare. When it came to the topic of immigration, nativists largely won during the 1920s. In response to nativist demands, the government introduced literacy tests in 1917. This measure to restrict immigration helped pave the way for even more strict regulations in the 1920s. Beginning in 1920, the government began to introduce quotas to further regulate immigration. While President Wilson was opposed to such regulations, newly elected President Harding was in favor of them. Under Harding, quotas became increasingly strict over the first half of the decade, culminating with the Immigration Act of 1924. The Act restricted anyone who was ineligible for becoming a citizen of the United States from even immigrating into the county. People of Asian descent, for instance, were previously restricted from becoming US citizens and were therefore unable to even immigrate into the country under the Act. It has great influence over the expectation of a women in the society; the status and the ideal itself has been conferred upon them by the Ramayana which depict Sita as the ideal wife worthy of being emulated by Hindu women. There is a similar, recurring pattern that seems to unfold for any women depicted in the Ramayana who actively stray beyond this idea model. IT will help you to achieve that goals that you set for the organization and help in attaining the profitability that every business person wants to achieve. But before we get into how marketing came about and how it evolved we have to understand what marketing is and what marketing has made marketing as we know it today. According to the American Marketing Association, marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large (American Marketing Association, 2013, para. 1) With that being said marketing really started to show up in the early 1900 s when people started to realize that there was a correlation between buying power and demand. In contemplating where I was to do my observation, I wanted to find a location with a lot of people, a location that was indoors, and a location that would provide me with a wide point of observation that would allow me to peacefully and conspicuously observe people while taking notes in my notebook. As a result, I decided on the second floor above the lounge area in the Santa Anita mall, located in Arcadia, CA, on a Saturday afternoon. This type of playing the part leads into the sociological theory known as Dramaturgy. Dramaturgy was first theorized by Erving Goffman. Goffman believed that people conduct themselves differently in different situations to appear in some way that is advantageous, kind of like actors playing different characters in films. For instance, there was a group of teenagers who were taking lots of pictures with each other. However, one boy was just off to the side calmly looking at his friends. After a few minutes of this, his attitude completely changed, and he jumped into one of the pictures with his friends and began taking more pictures. After they all took pictures, they all left to another part of the mall, and this boy returned back to his calm self. This was a perfect example of someone who was playing the part of appearing more social even though he may not have actually felt that way. However, the roles that those parents have in shaping the lives of their children is entirely up for debate. There is no set guide for how you raise your children. As a result, we see a wide range of involvement from smothering to entirely absent. In Steinbeck s magnum opus East of Eden, the influence of father figures on Adam Trask as well as the resulting effects on Adam s children is explored. These behaviors are the makings of a dictator or authority figure, not a father figure. While authority may be a component, Cyrus lacks the proper guidance and love to be a father figure. In the song Given To Fly Eddie says He got up out of there, ran for hundreds of miles / He made it to the ocean, had a smoke in a tree / The wind rose up, set him down on his knee. In this verse Eddie is describing his life and how he needs to get away from it all and just have a peaceful break, alone. Vedder likes to use his life in third person in most of his songs to make his message more distant, and almost more easily relatable. The song Given To Fly is actually a second or a reference to the song Going to California By Led Zeppelin and how just leaving might help out more than anything. Throughout the album there are several different songs with an abundance of different meanings. The song, Alive, has one of the deepest messages that is tied to his life personally. The purpose of this memo is to provide an assessment into the Bankruptcy Examiner s report regarding the risk management failure as it relates to Leman Brothers. The fundamental reason for the failure is based on the change in corporate strategy of 2006 in which Lehman decided to shift from a moving or securitization business to a storage business, with the firm making and holding longer term, risk investments. This strategic positioning was fully supported by the board, although the chief risk officer and certain senior risk management executives had expressed concerns about the extent of the change to the firm s risk appetite. Strategy Impact: While investment banks are in the business of taking calculated risks they must consider risk within the firms risk appetite. In March 2006 Lehman Brothers adopted a new business strategy to grow its proprietary business from a lower risk brokerage model to a higher risk, capital‐intensive banking model with a focus on expanding three specific areas of principal investment: commercial real estate, leveraged loans and private equity businesses to consume more capital. This strategy was risky due to the firm s high leverage and small equity. This impacted their risk taking significantly because this strategy was generally riskier and more illiquid than their traditional lines of business. To put this in other terms deficit spending is when the government needs to borrow money in order to pay for different government programs and other items of value. In the past deficit spending has been used when a country was facing a war or they needed to finance a building project. Deficit spending is also used to help pull a country out of a recession. The actions taken by the government during the late 1930s and early 1940s are a prime example of deficit spending. The United States were in the middle of the great depression and consumer spending had fallen drastically due to the number of people that found themselves unemployed and without money. In order to combat this drastic decrease in spending the government took on a number of projects that were meant to increase the overall spending. Advocates for PAS have typically had a loved one who is or was suffering through their final stages of life. Each individual state has specific laws and policies regarding the process of PAS; however, the requirements for a patient to be considered for PAS are similar (Death with Dignity, n.d.). Presently, there are currently only five states in which PAS is legally permitted: Oregon, Washington, California, Vermont, and Montana. In 2016, there are 20 states in which PAS laws could change, so in order to fully understand the arguments and policies regarding PAS, one must be aware of the key terms of PAS. The term euthanasia is often used interchangeably with PAS, but they are different. Euthanasia occurs when a physician administers life ending drugs into a patient, however, PAS occurs when the patient administers the life ending drugs themselves with a physician s assistance (Death with Dignity, n.d.). Music of Robert Schumann as a New Stage in the Development of Romanticism Music of Robert Schumann embodies many of the most characteristic features of German Romanticism deep psychological insight, aspiration for the ideal, intimacy, irony and bitterness. Advanced aesthetic tendencies of German culture in the period of 1820 40s found vivid expression in his music. In contradictions, which are inherent in Schumann s music, reflected the complex contradictions of the social life from his time. His music is filled with a restless, rebellious spirit that puts him in the same line with Byron, Heine, Goethe, Wagner and others. However, the theme of rebellion in the music of Schumann has a psychological, but very lyrical representation. Compared to Heinrich Heine, Victor Hugo, and Ludwig Van Beethoven who viewed the world through the prism of social injustice, Schumann did not aim towards social revolt. The greatest part of his diverse heritage was his personal confession in music. Schumann s piano music, for instance, Kreisleriana, Op.16 and the Symphonic Etudes, op.13, are truly a musical encyclopedia of the human soul with many nuances and tones, with shades of colors of joy, sorrow, anguish, doubt and struggle, dreams and anxieties, rush, despair, faith and courage. Real Time Pcr Detection Of Hiv Viral Load Real time PCR detection of HIV viral load Introduction: HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a lentivirus which is responsible for HIV infection and eventually causes AIDS. It s assumed that the virus has been in existence since 1930 but it s still unclear that how the virus came into existence. There are two kinds of HIV virus, HIV 1 which causes more severe disease and the source of transmission is a chimpanzee species Pan troglodytes whereas HIV 2 is transmitted by Cercocebus atys, a monkey found in West Africa (Norris, 2011). HIV binds to the CD4+ T cells because it needs CD4+ receptor to penetrate into cells. The virus transcribes its RNA into cDNA and then integrates its DNA into the host DNA and replicates further. It uses the DNA of CD4+ T lymphocytes and eventually ends up destroying them (Roberts, 2008). Once it weakens the immune system, the body becomes vulnerable to various diseases and is exposed to life threatening diseases known as opportunistic infections. A population of over 35 million people have HIV/AIDS and Sub Saharan Africa constitutes half of the population (AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, 2014). Figure 1. A statistical map showing the number of people infected with HIV/AIDS (Who.int, 2013). The HIV Infection progresses through a number of stages. As shown in Figure 2. When the community and police relations are positive, the police better understand the community s needs and the community is more inclined to report crimes and aid the police. When community and police relations are negative, the police do not understand the community s needs which leads the pubic, especially those who experience high levels of crime, to feel that the police do more harm than good. The colonists grew to hate the tax because it required a greater amount of money and strain on the rich than the poor. After a period of salutary neglect from 1607, the founding of Jamestown up until the end of the French and the Indian War in 1763, the colonists had established a system of taxation and legislation on their own accord. The church was the focus of attention, and rather than a logical outlook of the world, beliefs were concentrated around fallacies; on the other hand, the resurgence of education and innovations that followed the Middle Ages and was branded as the Renaissance. There have been disagreements as to whether the Renaissance is actually a isolated time period, or instead, just a great point of the Middle Ages. The Renaissance was unquestionably a distinct time period. With the ancient Greek and Roman people as their muse, it led to humanism views and stimulated man to become talented in multiple areas of life. Therefore, the Renaissance man, a man who surpassed in many areas, became protuberant. Also, the ideals of the people altered, and their religious beliefs no longer governed their lives. Developments in all facets of life effectively enhanced. Thus, numerous aspects led to the modification from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, a time period that was indisputably dissimilar from the Middle Ages; and Civic Humanism became the forefront of this time. Throughout the Renaissance, notions and theories reformed significantly. At times, if one parent is not chosen, he/she gives the child negative feedback to their child. This can cause lack of supporting that the children should get from parents, and it may influence children s emotional stability. Even though at times parents and child agree on the child s identity, society does not accept their decision. In both cases, children might lay blame on their parents, and it brings resentment in a family.
