1. Henry Viii Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of Henry VIII poses a unique set of challenges due to the
complexity and richness of the historical context surrounding this influential monarch. First and
foremost, delving into the life and reign of Henry VIII requires meticulous research to gather
accurate and relevant information. Navigating through the myriad of historical documents,
scholarly articles, and diverse perspectives on Henry's reign demands a keen analytical mind and
the ability to discern between conflicting accounts.
Moreover, the multifaceted nature of Henry VIII's character and the intricate political, religious,
and social dynamics of his time necessitate a comprehensive understanding of the Tudor era. The
essay writer must carefully navigate the nuanced details of Henry's six marriages, the
establishment of the Church of England, and the broader implications of his rule on English
society.
Crafting a coherent and engaging narrative that captures the essence of Henry VIII's impact on
the course of history is no small feat. Balancing the presentation of historical facts with insightful
analysis requires a skillful blend of historical acumen and effective communication. The task is
not merely to regurgitate information but to provide a nuanced and thoughtful interpretation that
adds depth and context to the reader's understanding.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to maintaining a critical stance while avoiding anachronistic
judgments. It requires the writer to place Henry VIII within the context of his time, appreciating
the complexities of his decisions without imposing modern values and perspectives.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Henry VIII demands a thorough exploration of historical
sources, critical thinking, and the ability to present a nuanced narrative. It is a task that requires
both research prowess and a keen understanding of the broader historical landscape. For those
seeking assistance in navigating these challenges, various resources, including professional

3. Empathy In Psychodynamic Therapy
Although there are many aspects of the counseling relationship, the most important of
these aspects is empathy. Empathy is the ability to truly comprehend the feelings of
the client (Cormier, 2016). It is a true connection with the client that is real with a
genuine desire to help the client. Empathy is almost an automatic emotionthat some
people possess, however a deeper understanding of the client goes beyond empathyis
the principle of care, which is a higher cognitive function (Wilhelm, 2010). The
principle of care is a more professionally trained form of empathy; utilizing a
cognitive process of purposeful assessment of a client s situation that adheres to a
higher moral standard (Wilhelm, 2010). However, when the counselor does have...

4. Forecasting Methodology
Forecasting Methodology
Forecasting is an integral part in planning the financial future of any business and
allows the company to consider probabilities of current and future trends using
existing data and facts. Forecasts are vital to every business organization and for
every significant management decision. Forecasting, according to Armstrong (2001),
is the basis of corporate long run planning. Many times, this unique approach is used
not only to provide a baseline, but also to offer a prediction into the corporation s
future. In the functional areas of finance and accounting, forecasts provide the basis
for budgetary planning and cost control. Marketing relies on sales forecasting to plan

Causal tries to understand the system underlying and surrounding the item being

Leading indicators. Starting with Regression analysis, similar to least squares
method in time series but may contain multiple variables, basis is that forecast is
caused by the occurrence of other events. Econometric models the forecast attempts
to describe some sector of the economy by a series of interdependent equations. An
input/Output model focuses on sales of each industry to other firms and
governments; it indicates the changes in sales that a producer industry might expect
because of purchasing changes by another industry. Leading Indicators type are
statistics moving in the same direction as the series being forecast but move before
the series, such as an increase in the price of gasoline indicating a future drop in the
sale of large cars.
Simulation Models are dynamic models; Dynamic modeling in organizations is the
collective ability to understand the implications of change over time. This skill lies at
the heart of successful strategic decision process. The availability of effective visual
modeling and simulation enables the analyst and the decision maker to boost their
dynamic decision by rehearsing strategy to avoid hidden pitfalls.

5. Parthenon Marbles Essay
To stay or not to stay? That is the question. There are many people who are debating
the true home of the Parthenon Marbles. Some believe the sculptures should stay in
the British Museum whereas others believe it should go back to Greece where it
originally belonged. I do believe the British Museum should return the Parthenon
Marbles to Greece because Lord Elgin did not obtain the marbles legally, Greece
can now take care of the sculptures, and it would not force other museums to return
artworks in which they originated. Firstly, there has been controversy over whether
or not Lord Elgin took the sculptures legally. I believe that he in fact did not take
them legally because when he was asked for the papers validating the removal of the
sculptures, he did not have them but instead he gave a vague translation in Italian
(1). Therefore, it is uncertain whether or not he told the truth or told people what
they needed to hear in order for him to acquire and sell the sculptures. Not only did
Lord Elgin not provide legal documentation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The return of the Parthenon Marbles is not the first case of a museum returning
artworks to their country of origin; in fact the Wright Brothers aircraft and the
Ethiopian Manuscripts are a few which have been returned (6). The side for returning
the sculptures argues that the return of these objects did not disrupt or change big
museums (6). It is not a matter of preserving and keeping big museums the center of
the world, it is a matter of ethics and giving countries what is rightfully theirs. The
opposing side argues that if the Parthenon Marbles were removed from the British
Museum, museums all over the world would be forced to return other artworks from
where they originated (5). They argue that the concept of a museum, which means
collecting object and artworks from different locations, would be lost

John Dalton was a British chemist. He s known for bringing the atomic theory to
light as well as his contributions to color blindness Dalton was born in Eaglesfield,
England September 6, 1766 and died July 27, 1844 due to a stroke. Dalton and his
brother Jonathan were both born color blind. Dalton s family wasn t big on the
financial end and he really wanted an education. When he turned 12 he began
teaching at the school he was formerly attending. At the age of 14 he began to help
out with working on a farm but soon realized that it wasn t for him and returned to
teach at a Quaker school. Shortly after he returned to the school he was name the
principal! He worked there as the school s principal for many years until he was
given the opportunity to become a math and philosophy tutor at the New College
in Manchester. While working there he joined a group that gave him access to the
laboratory facilities. His first research project was Dalton went after one of his
favorite topics meteorology. The amazing thing about this is that Dalton kept daily
logs of the weather, he kept up with specific things such as wind velocity and
barometric pressure for 57 years. In fact his findings were published in his first book

one way to explain it and that was that it was hereditary. He even went on to prove
his theory when genetic analysis of his own eye tissues showed that he didn t have
the photoreceptor for seeing the color green. To this day the condition is called
Daltonism. Dalton s interest in atmospheric pressure pushed him to start studying
gasses. In the early 1800 s Dalton realized that air isn t a chemical solvent. Instead
Dalton revealed that it s a mechanical system composed of small particles that uses

7. Romeo And Juliet Deaths
Romeo and Juliet, the Shakespearean playwright of two star crossed lovers, ends in
two tragic deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. Who can be hold responsible for their
deaths, when so many things went wrong along the way? Many could be held
responsible for the deaths of the two lovers, but Romeo himself deserves to carry
the heavier load of responsible for not only his death, but the death of his lover,
Juliet as well. The young boy s acts of irresponsibility, impulse, belligerence,
immaturity, and streak of bad decisions only brought definite consequences to both
himself and Juliet. As the story of Romeo and Juliet further progresses, Romeo s
true character becomes more and more apparent; he seems to act solely by
impulse. Romeo acts moreso with his emotions, and sudden thoughts than his
brain which stores reason and logic. This causes for tragedy and unfortunate
circumstance by the end of the poem. This shows how impulsive he is in most of
his decisions and how he tends to be very dramatic in everything that he does.
When Romeo discovers that Juliet is dead, he almost immediately dramatically
decides to drink poison, to kill himself. Here s to love, O true apothecary, thy drugs
are quick thus with a kiss I die. Which shows how quickly he makes wrash and
dramatic decisions without thinking it through. If Romeo had not been so careless
and impulsive in his decision, Juliet would have awoken and they would both still
be alive. Romeo is also extremely short tempered and belligerent. Often, Romeo
resorts to violence when conflict occurs, he is quick to act out of rage. This goes
hand in hand with how impulsive and irresponsible he is, which further supports
that he was responsible for him and Juliet s death. Romeo kills Paris out of rage and
fury, as violence has become a natural instinct or reaction for him. Romeo killed
Tybalt as well, over a simple joke. That is two lives that Romeo himself his
responsible for taking, is it hard to believe he could be responsible for his own as
well as Juliet s, due to what we ve seen him capable of over the course of the story. O,
I am slain if thou be merciful open the tomb lay me with Juliet. Romeo seems to be
careless of any consequences he may face due to his

Q1. The correlation between two rival traditions of economic thought by Hunt
Lautzenheister and the great divide in social sciences
Smith s economic theory of economic welfare was, above all else, policy oriented
theory. His principal concern was to ascertain what social and economic forces were
most conducive to increasing human welfare, and, by this, to recommend policies
that would best promote human happiness. Smith s definition of economic well being
was quite simple and straightforward. According to Smith, Economic welfare depends
on the amount of the annual produce of labour and the number of consumers (Hunt
22). In every economy, welfare increases as the composition of productive output ...

The three social classes each received a distinct form of monetary return; rent, wages
and profits. These forms of class income primarily correspond to the three parts of the
production costs and determines the prices of commodities. However, Smith assumed
that selfish and acquisitive motives characterized all economic behaviour despite his
admission that in noneconomic behaviour, people had other motives, including those
considered altruistic. The assumption that all economic behaviour depends on selfish,
acquisitive motives was to become the foundation of neoclassical economics
beginning in the late nineteenth century.
Within the context of Smith s theory of history, capitalismrepresented the highest
stage of civilization, and capitalism would reach its greatest height when in had
evolved to a state in which the government had adopted a laissez faire policy. It
allows the forces of competition and the free interplay of supply and demand to
regulate the economy, which would be almost entirely unhindered by government
interventions. According to Smith, the level of production in any society depends on
the number of production labourers and the level of their productivity. Productivity,
in turn, depends on specialization. According to the same scholar, specialization is
the greatest improvement in the productive power of labour, and the greatest part of
the skill. In most instances, there exist two principles that govern the extent of
9. How the Earth Was Made
The three myths Chinese, African, and Norse have the same way of the earth being
made because they all have it that men made the earth.
This story has it that the heaven and earth were integrated into one body that
reminds you of an egg, that Pangu slept inside. He slept for about 18,000 years and
then woke up. He noticed that he was in a vast of dark; therefore, he made his
hands huge and cut into the darkness. After an explosion, heaven and earth started to
split. He was scared that the heaven and earth may go together again, so he held the
heaven with his hands and carefully walked on land. His body grew three meters
every day. therefore, the distance between heaven and earth became three meters
longer every day.
Another 18,000 years passed and now heaven became far away from the earth and the
earth was now very thick. At the same time, Pangu also grew to be a huge man.
During this time, heaven continued ascending and expanding while the earth sinking
and getting thicker until the distance between them was as far as 90,000 kilometers
which had reached the extreme. That was the situation of the universe in our eyes at
current time. Pangu gradually got weaker after he separated heaven and the earth.
After he died his body turned into all the things in the universe. His left eye became
the sun and his right eye, the moon.
The protruded parts in his body turned out to be high mountains and his blood
became rivers. His muscle became the soil field, and his hair and beard

11. Coming Of Age Stories
Coming of age stories are defined as stories where a vital character goes through a
significant maturation process. Both Jane Eyre and a portrait of the artist as a
young man match this description. The respective main characters, Jane Eyre and
Stephen Dedalus both undergo a series of maturation changes as they venture into
adulthood and all that it entails. Although Jane and Stephen are very different in
terms of their lifestyle preferences, beliefs, customs and manners, many similarities
can be drawn from the two concerning the hardships and adversities they are faced
with as they grow up. Jane s uncle s dying wish was that his wife raise Jane. As a
young child she was harassed by her cousin John Reed who would always be aided
by his mom. While locked in the haunted red room, Jane believes that she sees the
ghost of her uncle who sought to protect her. Jane is forced to grow up without love
from her family. In contrast, Stephen is raised in a loving home in Ireland. Whereas

school for eight years while Stephen constantly changes schools because his family

between Jane and Stephen is the dark period Stephen goes through where he is only
concerned with physical relationships. Once Stephen chose to reject religion and
simply pursue a sexual relationship and an artistic career he became very different
from Jane in the sense that Jane isn t nearly as rebellious. These characters struggled
through very difficult times and dealt with it
12. Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration
Introduction Cells are the basic units of life and their processes are vital to the
functioning of all organism. The reactions of photosynthesis and cellular respiration
are complimentary and are also the most important pathways on the Earth.
Photosynthesis is a process that converts carbon dioxide into organic compounds in
presence of sunlight. Cellular respirationis the set of metabolic reactions that take in
cells of living organisms that convert nutrients like sugar into energy , which is
known as ATP (adenosine triphosphate), and waste products. The two processes are
closely related and likewise, they share many similarities and differences
Processes in a Nutshell The main difference between photosynthesis and cellular
respiration is that photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplast and cellular
respiration takes place in the mitchondrion. Plants contain mitochondria and
chloroplasts so both they may undergo both processes. However, animals and other
heterotrophs undergo cellular respiration, but not photosynthesis. In a nutshell, the
purpose of these processes is to convert free energy into ATP.
Discovery of Photosynthesis
The beginning of the discovery of photosynthesis began in the mid 17th century when
J.B. Van Helmont carefully measured the mass of the soil used by a plant and the
mass of the plant as it grew. After this noticed that the soil mass changed very little.
He then hypothesized that the mass of the growing plant must come from the water.

In Alistair McLeod s collection of short stories the Lost Salt Gift of Blood; death
seems to be a constant companion. Death is important and perhaps even symbolic in
this collection of short stories. It is important because it has the power to affect
people and relationships, invokes freedom and even predetermines ones future,
through the deathof animal s people and the impending death of others. The first
story In the Fall consists of 2 deaths, the death of a horse and a death of chickens
both with very different effects on people. The first death was the death of a horse
who was a very close companion or more like an old familyfriend to the family but
with age Scott the horse had grown old and incapable of farm work. The mother...

story 2 different deaths cause 2 totally different impacts on people and
relationships within the story. In another story by McLeod called The Boat the
death of the father liberates his spirit and frees his son from obligated
responsibility. When the father dies his own spirit is freed from his nagging wife,
she always nagged on him because ... he was a failure as a husband and father who

her; dying in a sense liberated him. The father s dying also freed the son from
obligated responsibility. The son felt he had to stay because he loved his father

predetermines a young mans future. The young man Calum, has only been given a

Considering the experience of one country with compulsory voting, and one in which
voting is voluntary, does compulsory voting tend to enhance the quality of
democracy?
Compulsory voting can be defined as the legal obligation to attend the polls at
election time According to a dictionary definition, democratic state is one where
supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their
elected agents under a free electoral system. There are different democratic countries
such as Canada, United States of America, Belgium, Australia and they all have
different electoral processes. Some countries practice either compulsory voting or

In order to make sure everyone is exercising this right to vote, some countries have
enforced laws that prevent people from disregarding this civil duty. As an individual
liberty consists in exemption from legal control, so political liberty consists in
participation in legal control. Compulsory voting is in the interest of everyone in the
country, through voting we are given a voice to decide which people amongst us we
would rather have serving and protecting us.
The initial expectation is that a substantial gap exists between the voting rates of the
socially advantaged because the latter are less informed about politics, feel more
alienated from the political system and are not the main target of mobilization efforts
by political parties One of the problems with countries with voluntary voting is that
participation is low participation which can also be called low electoral turnout. one
of the problems most democratic states with voluntary voting have, is the turnout of
electoral processes. Everyone has the right to vote but people on the day of election
stay home and turnouts end up low. These states end up having less than 60%
turnout. However in states with Compulsory voting such as Australia, election
turnouts have been high. the average level of turnout under the system of compulsory
voting was 91.6% If the turnouts for elections enhances democracy why do other

16. Social Networks Before The Internet
Social networks Old and New Merriam Webster describes social networks as a
network of individuals (such as friends, acquaintances, and coworkers) connected by
interpersonal relationships (Social Network 1) There are many people these days
who, when they hear social networks they think of the Internet but there are many
different types of social networks that were around before the Internet was even
invented. Social networkexisted long before the internet and there are several
similarities as well as differences between social networks before and after the
Internet. Two examples of social networks before the internet are the telegraph and
the newspaper.
The telegraph allowed for people to communicate from thousands of miles away
from each other. Although it was not as advanced as other machines now it was
still a network of individuals speaking to another network of individual simply to
keep in touch. Much like modern day social networks people using the telegraph
came up with their own language almost allowing for them to communicate easier.
For example, in order to save money some people would end a telegraph with stop
instead of a period and everyone knew what it meant. Telegraphs lasted for a long
time as they were so effective, but eventually when the telephone became more
accessible many people turned to that instead of telegraphs simply because they
wanted to hear the other person s voice.
Another example of a social network before the internet is the newspaper.

One of the most desirable traits that marketers would like to see in the consumers
they are positioning their product towards is loyalty to their brand. Brand loyalty can
be defined as the extent of the faithfulness of consumers to a particular brand,
expressed through their repeat purchases, irrespective of the marketing pressure
generated by the competing brands. (Business Dictionary, 2012) An expression of
brand loyalty from consumers can help companies to experience significant growth
not only through repeat purchases, but also word of mouth: brand loyal consumers
who talk among their peers about their purchasing behaviour may talk positively
about the brand they like, which allows these consumers to try these ... Show more

and eventually enriched himself. In civilians eyes he was corrupt and he proved that
when an earthquake hit Nicaragua. He had declared to use the emergency powers
and while that took place he headed a different direction. He decided to steal the aid

The Sandinistas did not believe that the message they were trying to get towards the

20. Comparing Hawaii And Wyoming
Family Vacationing Hawaii and Wyoming are two states often visited because of the
variety of activities they offer. Even though both states appear different, they actually
do have similarities. Hawaii is a tropical island with a moderately warm climate year
round. Because of its climate, visitors generally enjoy outside activities. Wyomingis a
landlocked state that usually has cooler climate. However, in the summer, it can
rival Hawaii for heat. In Wyoming people spend a great deal of time driving around,
taking pictures and exploring new bucket list places. Also, activities such as hiking,
wagon riding, and cookouts allow people to be outside during their visit. [Thesis]:

They each have waterfalls that were once dried up from hot climate. Both states
have volcanoes and are made from a volcanic eruption. The Big Island of Hawaii is
basically a rock formed by lava. Yellowstone in Wyoming is a large, rocky
grassland formed by an eruption. Surprisingly, Hawaii has mountains just like
Wyoming. The Grand Teton mountains are stunning to look at and have snow on
top of each peak. Hawaii has one main mountain called Mauna Kea which has snow
on top of it even in warm climate. The activities and food are the same in Hawaii
and Wyoming. In Hawaii, my family went to a luau which was like a cookout.
Here, they served roasted pig in the ground, sides, and fruit. The food is not much
different than in Alabama. However, some restaurants did serve bison burgers and
different fish than I am used to. In Wyoming, we went to two different cookouts.
The first one was on Snake River and they served steak, potatoes, corn, and rolls.
The second cookout on a wagon ride had the same food as the first one, which is
similar to food in Alabama. Some restaurants served lamb, bison, and tenderloin
that my family is not used to. The transportation in Hawaii and Wyoming is the
same. My parents and I had to fly from Atlanta to both states because it is such a
great distance. We had to rent a car on both trips. To get around the Big Island of
Hawaii or to see hidden places, driving a long distance was required. Wyoming took
at least thirty minutes to get from one place to
21. Russian Formalism And The Hero
The title hero has been around for a long time. There are many things that can pop
into a person s head when the word hero is said. Within Russian formalism, there is
the idea of structures and perceptions within literature. The time, place, historical
movement, and author, can change the perceptions of a novel or even how it is
written. Stories have been around since people started to communicate. Stories or
myths were used to teach lessons, for entertainment, or to keep history alive. There
have always been different types of stories that people would talk about. One type of
story that has been around for a long time is the story of heroes. The stories started
out having hidden lessons within the stories. To fully understand the archetype, or
structure, of the heroquest Russian formalismwill be discussed. With understanding
Russian formalism, it then will be connected to the hero quest structure. The hero
quest structure will then be broken down to be explained. To better understand the
hero quest the French novel, Kiffe Kiffe Tomorrow by FaГЇza GuГЁne will be
analyzed using this structure. Following the concepts of Russian formalism, novels
can be classified through the hero quest structure influencing the perceptions of the
works.
Russian formalism is a mixture of symbolism theory mixed with linguistic theory.
But, with formalism studies are more scientific and objective than that of symbolist
theory. Russian formalism is a type of literary criticism and looks at the
22. The Postclassical Period
CCOT 2012
Changes and continuities from the classical to the post classical cover a wide
range of political, cultural, religious and economic shifts as populations grew and
societies became more complex. The classical empires of Rome, Han China, Gupta
India and Archaemenid Persia fell due to external and internal forces and were
replaced by the larger empires of the post classical Byzantine; Tsui, Tang and Song in
China and the Caliphates in Persia. Only India did not return to an over reaching
centralized empire. During the post classical Dar el Islam united much of Eurasia
with a single religious adherence to Islam. Also, the largest empire the world was
ever to see, the Mongols, rose during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact the sole purpose of these kingdoms was trade and they were little interested in
administering their kingdoms for any other purpose. Conquest as a source of revenue
was not needed as they could bring in wealth through trade relations.
One of the greatest changes in the post classical period was the rise of Islam that
spread across Eurasia and Africa. Even after the Islamic Empire, Dar al Islam, had
begun to lose power by 850 Islam continued to spread, unifying diverse societies and
ethnicities through the commonality of culture and religion.
Changes in political and cultural traditions during the post classical period occurred
in Africa because of intensive Islamic contact. When Arab conquerors introduced the
Islamic faith into northern Africa, they expanded the region of commerce. Muslim
merchants established trading centers for copper, iron, salts, and cotton textiles. The
newly established trade affected traditional social and religious beliefs. After 1000
C.E., the kin based social structure experienced difficult challenges. Increased
conflict between peoples led to the creation of military forces for both offensive and
defensive use. This led to the formation of chiefdoms exhibiting more formal
structures of governing such as in the kingdoms of Kongo, Ghana, and Mali. Because
most traders were Muslim, many African societies converted to Islam to improve
their relations with the

Whale Rider Essay
Whale Rider directed by Nicki Caro has won many awards such as Critic s Choice
Movie Award for Best Young Performer and Independent Spirit Award for Best
International Film. The award winning film explores the many privileges, obligations
and duties of the leaders and potential leaders in protagonist Pai s Maori community.
Caro does this through characterisations of Pai, and her supporting characters, such as
Koro, her grandfather. He believes that his duty was to establish a new chief with no
modern compromise. Pai, on the other hand, she has to prove to Koro that the
traditional ways need to adapt like the world around them. So, minor characters also
had roles, duties and expectations throughout the film that they had issues fulfilling.
The film displayed the theme of duty specifically through Koro. Koro had to obey
ancient traditions but he also had the sacred role to establish a new male chief.
Koro s dedication to the traditional ways allowed no compromise, even if it was
defeating. At the beginning of the film, Koro tells Nanny Flowers that Pourangi
would have another child He ll have another child even though his wife and one of
the twins had just died. He never acknowledges Pai and focuses on himself and his
job to find the male chief. He even tries to set Pai s father Pourangi up with Pai s
school teacher. Pourangi showcases his artwork to his family but a picture of his
partner showed up. Pourangi explained that it was his pregnant
24. Decomposition Of Salmon Essay
Decomposition of Salmon
The decomposition of salmon and other waste products from salmon farming have a
wide array of environmental impacts. The effects on the environment are seen
through nitrogen and oxygen depletion in the vicinity, remineralization, fish waste,
and other waste materials known to thrust the salmon environment into a zone of
stress.
Nitrogen Oxygen Depletion
The largest impact that decomposition has on natural world in the vicinity of salmon
farms is nitrogen and oxygen depletion. Studies have shown that the decomposition
of salmon in fish farming strategies contributes to the loss of nitrogen and oxygen in
the surrounding areas (Brickell Goering, 1997). This can be attributed to the chemical
process a salmon carcass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Overabundance of these chemicals is toxic to fish and can cause fish kills (Genoil,
2012). Fish carcass remineralization can ultimately block sunlight and choke plants
causing the ecosystem to collapse into a deadzone (Genoil, 2012). Farmed fish
mortality can reach 30% in shallow waters (Genoil, 2012). Salmon farms increase
organic matter mineralization (Heilskov Holmer, 2001). This is caused by enhanced
microbial activities because of the presence of organic rich faecal pellets (Heilskov
Holmer, 2001). The microbial organisms are more active in the fish farms because the
stagnant waters allow certain bacteria from salmon faecal pellets to accumulate and
provide the microbes with a near optimal environment to produce the inorganic
substances that are byproducts of remineralization. The salmon also catalyzed this
process by direct ingestion of detritus (Heilskov Holmer, 2001). Through the direct
ingestion of these decomposers, the salmon undergo a biotic decomposition where
the carcasses are broken down into simpler, organic matter that undergo
remineralization more

Corporations and Their Influence in Support for Public Art Museums
Statement of Intent Historically, museums have relied on four sources of financial
support: individual contributions, corporate and foundation support, earned revenues,
and government grants. This paper focuses on present day corporate support for art
and the museums that collect and display that art. It urges museums to reassess their
assumptions about corporations and suggests ways that museums can develop new
approaches to align their solicitation of support with changing corporate objectives.

Thus arts organizations must act to align their needs with the evolving requirements
of corporate benefactors if lasting partnerships are to be formed. Museums must
position their brand to corporations as places of value, enhancement and richness to
local communities. Corporations need to reevaluate museums as a pillar for support
on par with any other social cause, with value for society at large. With better
understanding of the overlap of objectives both corporations and arts organizations
share, public museums can offer creative, outside the box thinking in seeking
corporate support. Museum development professionals can better understand the
value to not only maintain existing resources, but ways to seek new partners through
innovative corporate engagement by aligning museum programming and values with
the increasingly social and environmental causes corporations have come to identify.
By observing trends in federal and corporate funding for the arts and funding shifts,
this capstone will explore why corporations who currently support public art do so
through funding and art collections, and their increasing needs for employee
engagement. Understanding the relationship history corporate America and art share,
and the wide reaches art has made in contemporary society, can offer museum
advancement teams new approaches for funding, and to aid corporations to no longer

27. The Importance Of The Arabic Language
Around about the 9th and 10th centuries, Math and Science started to flourish in
the Middle Eastern world. This time is known as The Golden Age of Islam
(Chejne 57). During this time many Middle Eastern scholars began taking the
works of the greeks and translating them into the Arabic Language. This allowed for
the Middle East to learn in a new way and brought light to this new world of
learning. Through this translation, many doors opened up which allowed for new
mathematics and scientific discoveries. Arabic then became known as the
language of mathematics and sciences (Chejne 59). While Arabic is one of the
more known languages of the Middle East and shows in great context how one
language can develop and grow as an identity for people all of the other Middle
Eastern Languages did the same as well. Besides showing how language is
important to a society through religion, literature, and learning Arabic also shows
how a language can evolve into different ones as described before as dialects.
Overall, the Arabic Language contains one standard version of the language and
around 12 main different dialects. The Standard version of the Language is known
as Modern Standard Arabic or MSA for short. This form of Arabic is what is taught
in schools and known as the Written form of Arabic (Callison Burch et al. 2).
Having this standard form of Arabic is a way for everyone who speaks it to be able
to understand and communicate with one another. This helps show another great

congenital adrenal hyperplasia, CAH. The motherin bewilderment asks what the
course of treatment would look like and what exactly CAH is, she seeks a plan, a

When an illness is becoming medicalized it can appear to be fueled by three
factors; influence of the medical profession, social movements, and directed
organizational activity (Conrad, 3 4). Medicalization can be useful in giving
knowledge to individuals dealing with an unknown predicament, but sometimes,
like the case in CAH, it can be questioned to if a medicalized stance on an illness is
necessary. A key example of medicalization of a physical condition that aligns with
the genital concerns of CAH would be male impotence. This condition, like
ambiguous genitals, does not have a negative impact on the physical health of the
individual at all, but a drug, Viagra, has been administered to men anyway (Conrad,
6). The side effects of Viagra range from the minute stuffy nose to very serious
concerns such as memory problems and loss of hearing. Despite these risks, men
continue to take the medication because of the aesthetic around being able to perform
in the bedroom. This can be translated into the prenatal usage of

Mathis, Jackson Valentine (2013) provide examples of workplace violence
categories as physical assault, threats, harassment, intimidation, and bullying. These
acts are deemed to be violent in nature, can be directed towards someone at work or
on duty and can be instigated by a criminal or a customer. In my company, I have yet
to witness or bear part to any form of physical assault, threats, harassment, or physical
intimidation. I view bullying as the most prevalent workplace violencein my

Sometimes the bully believes his or her actions are justified as a means of
climbing the corporate ladder. When the word bully is mentioned, many people
think of an aggressive, mean person. However, in my experience and from a
managerial/supervisory standpoint, most workplace bullies are actually non
aggressive (from a physical standpoint) but they are extremely aggressive from a
non physical standpoint. For example, the cunning workplace bully employs
methods of deception, misrepresentation of information and intentional misdirection
of blame onto another person. These types of deliberate acts, which are completed
in an attempt to gain power, respect or influence, in this student s opinion can be
equal to the more common form of physical bullying. Hananel (2013) reports that
non physical on the job bullying can be seen as a supervisor s verbal abuse or
threats, cruel comments or relentless teasing by a co worker. Hananel (2013) also
indicates that employers list the majority of bullying incidents as verbal abuse, such
as shouting, swearing and name calling, along with malicious gossip, rumors and

Experimental approach:
Light field synthesis. The PI is very capable to lead this project to the ultimate
success. He engineered and developed the unique LFS device (Fig. 1). Also, he
demonstrated a full control of synthesizing light field waveforms from the LFS
with attosecond (10 18s) temporal resolution on demand in (Nature 530, 66 70,

The laser pulse of each channel is compressed to their Fourier limit (shortest
duration) before all the pulses coherently superimpose at the exit of the apparatus
and forming one laser broadband short (2 fs) pulse. The tailoring of the waveform at
the exit is possible by controlling the relative phases and intensities of the four
spectral channels inside the synthesizer. This tailoring process is automatized to
obtain the desired waveform of the output electric field by a programming code

Most Greek figures were influenced by animals and were occasionally created
using different animal body parts. The Egyptians were further involved in creating
countless monumental sculptures of their pharaohs and queens. Other than
limestone the Egyptians also used painted wood and sandstone and later used gold
and bronze to strengthen their sculptures, while Greeks would use marble and
bronze. The difference in religious beliefs between the two time periods is the
major difference because Egyptians had a very solid belief in the after life and
helping their dead find a better life after death whereas the Greeks lacked such belief.
Ancient Greece borrowed various of their concepts from the Egyptians and
Mesopotamians to improve their individual and independent artistic identity through
painting, sculpture, and architecture. Much of the artwork was government
supported and available for public viewing in the cities. The Greeks were also
involved in contributing to the beginning of medicine and astronomy and their
perception of balance and proportion of form. The Greek government was minor and
had several cities and states that were independent. This was different from Egyptian
politics because it had a more conservative style.
The Greeks were similar to the Egyptians in that both had restricted room for farming
and made used of the columns. Even though the Greeks pick up the idea from the
Egyptians,

concerned with how environmental factors, called stimuli affect observable behavior,
called the response (McLeod, 2007). The psychodynamic perspective explains that
human behavior is determined by the unconscious mindand childhood experiences
(McLeod, 2007). The humanistic perspective believes that an individual s behavior
is connected to his inner feelings and self image (McLeod, 2007). The cognitive

the unconscious mind consists of three components named the Id, the Ego, and the
Superego (McLeod, 2007). The Id is the primitive component of personality and
responds directly and immediately to the instincts (McLeod, 2007). The Ego is the
decision making component of personality and works by reason (McLeod, 2007).
As Freud explained, The ego is that part of the id which has been modified by the
direct influence of the external world, (Freud, 1923). The Superego incorporates the

positively? According to Jib Fowles in Advertising s Fifteen Basic Appeals,
advertisers create ads that appeal to one s motives (541). Regardless of negative
outcomes, people believe that buying advertised products will help satisfy their basic

advertising influences people positively by fulfilling the needs to nurture, achieve,

Another example, We glance at a picture of a solitary rancher at work, and Marlboro
slips into our minds, negatively influences one but captures attention (Fowles 540).
Even though some products are unnecessary, advertising fulfills one s needs.
Fowles defines the need to nurture as the need to take care of small, defenseless
creatures (546). Henry A. Murray explains that to feed, help, support, console,
protect, comfort, nurse, [and] heal describes nurture (Fowles 546). One
successfully raises their family through accomplishing their need to nurture.
Failing to accomplish this motive, we could not successfully raise up our
replacements (Fowles 546). For example, in the NyQuil advertisement, the wife
gives the husband NyQuil to heal his sickness (Fowles 546). By implying the
motive, nurture, advertisers appeal to one s senses. Campbell s vegetable soup
includes the phrase, It brings them [children] all the sturdy goodness of 15 different
garden vegetables combined with a rich, invigoration beef stock (Behrens and
Rosen 585). One can taste the invigoration beef stock and smell the rich scent of the
soup (Behrens and Rosen 585). This detailed description of Campbell s soup
influences parents to buy the product. Dog food advertisements like Caesar s

37. Stereotypes Of The China Doll
I. Introduction
The China Doll stereotype is a kind of stereotype wherein the west portrays the
East Asian girls as a sexual object. Being diminutive, permissive, and coy are three
main things the west sees in eastern women. This stereotype is not new, for it has
been going on for 200 years. It began when Marco Polo began his journey. Aside
from that, in 1839, in the opium war, these women were exported to the west. In the
late 1800 s, French naval officer Pierre Loti loved writing about his trips.
In 1888, during his trip to Japan, he met a woman that became his temporary wife.
He described her diminutive doll like appearance. He, then wrote a book about it
called Madame Chrysamtheme and has become famous and was printed for more
than a hundred times. However, that story did not stop there. Another American opera

Also, it is needed that Asian women take the initiative to be able to portray
themselves and bring about their perspective culture and not allow Western influence
to tamper with it. Slowly, it is through talent of Asian women that recognition is
gained and culture is promoted, and so long as that continues to progress will it be
possible to completely eradicate the objectification of Asian women suffering through
the racial generalization that is the China doll stereotype.

38. Alexander Pope And Jonathan Swift And Materialism
Analysis
Society s view of women have changed over time, but have always had objectifying
tendencies. During the 18th century, cosmetic alteration to natural beauty and
materialism heightened, which resulted in a change in the way society viewed
women. This change objectified women and scrutinized them more than in previous
time periods. Authors such as Alexander Pope and Jonathan Swift convey these
views throughout their writings. Pope s Rape of the Lock exposes the materialism
used in objectifying women, mainly in the upper class societal levels. The plot of
the story centers a materialistic goal, as the lock of hair that was cut from a womans
head became so called evidence of a man s sexual conquest. Other sexual conquests,

(Pope II 106 107). The first description used in each line is something of
importance, as staining honor, forgetting prayers or losing her heart all have serious
implications. More serious actions are then paired with trivial material ones; staining
a new brocade, missing a masquerade or losing a necklace at a ball. Pairing material
actions with important ones unify them as being on the same level of importance.
The contradiction is removed and materialism is elevated.
Objectification of women goes hand and hand with materialism. When Pope
speaks of the sexual conquests in The Rape of the Lock, he only focuses on the
material aspects that result from sex. He first speaks of the Baron, who states he will
win his prize by force to ravish, or by fraud betray; as he will try anything to achieve
his goal (Pope II 32). The aspect of using force emphasizes
39. The Keystone Xl ( Kxl ) Pipeline
In the October of 2015, oil prices have dropped to their lowest since 2008 and
Canada has lost over 35,000 jobs, and the value of the loonie has dropped to a mere
77 cents compared to the U.S. Dollar. As Canada desperately clings onto the failing
economy, it turns its attention to The Keystone Pipelines. The Keystone XL (KXL)
pipeline was an idea proposed in 2008 by the TransCanada energy company, to
deliver 830,000 barrels of oil each day beginning in Hardisty, Alberta, and extending
south to Steele City, Nebraska. TransCanada claims to bring more jobs, energy
security, and benefit to the Canadian and American economy. Yet, President Obama
denied the proposal in 2015. Although it was a huge disappointment to Canada, the
decision to deny permission for further construction of the pipeline was the right one.
The future of Canada s economy should not rely on the Keystone XL pipeline,
because the devastating environmental risks, the instability of the oil industry, and
Canada s ability to expand other industries.
The main reason President Obama rejected the proposal of Keystone XL was due to
environment concerns. As quoted from Salon News President Obama s decision to
deny permission for construction of the Keystone Pipeline may turn out to be a
momentous event in the history of our efforts to protect our planet from
environmental disaster. The construction and use of Keystone XL will greatly risk
the environment, and because of this, it should not be built, and Canada

Mr. John Pineno Out on the Course: Golf Course Photography Golf course
photography is a type of landscape photography, but is different from many other
types of landscapes. Golf courses often have well manicured grass that is cut at
different heights to give it definition. Another aspect that affects the color is the
direction in which the grass is mowed. If the blades of grass are facing away, they
appear to be a lighter shade of green. On the other hand, if they are mowed towards
you, then the grass will appear to be a darker shade of green. The difference in color
and in the grass creates a great contrast between the fairway, rough, and the greens.
Other parts of golf courses such as water and sand traps are also often featured in
photos and provide great effects to enhance them.
The way that light strikes the green or fairway of a golf hole can make a remarkable
difference in the impact of a photograph (Maynard). This quote tells us how
important natural light is when taking photos of a golf course. ... Show more content

Taking them on a clear, sunny day often is the best way to go unless a picture tries
to feature a storm rolling in to give it a gloomier effect. The green landscapes and
changes in scenery often lead to diverse photos even while taking pictures of the
same golf course. I enjoy taking pictures out on the course and hope to continue
doing so as well as taking other landscape photographs. There is a difference in golf
course pictures because they usually have a subject such as the green. Often times
there are landscape photos that are beautiful but you may not know where to look
because there is no focal point. This article helped me better understand the best time
and strategy to taking great photos when out on the golf
41. The Cruel People In The Rodo Industry
Did you know that the average bucking horse or bull works less than 5 minutes a
year in the arena? There are many events in the rodeo like Bucking broncos,
Bucking bulls, Calf roping, Team roping, Barrel racing, and more. Although there
will always be cruel people in the rodeo industry, most people are very respectful of
the animal, and rodeos have to follow rules and they have equipment to keep the
animalsand the rider safe.
First of all, rodeos have to follow rules. According to the RCA rules a veterinarian
will be on site at all rodeo events. Animals are inspected by medical personnel
immediately prior to and after the event. Any animal that appears to be sore, lame,
sick, or injured is removed from the event and placed under immediate
42. Moses Is A Hero s Journey Essay
There must be a strange feeling Moses experiences and I m sure he probably did
feel inadequate to this great task. Many of us would have questioned God in his
choice. Look at Moses as he says that, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto
my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. Does this sound
like something you may of been through, I have and I m sure you may of you felt
the same way also? Mosesis like many of us, caught in our feelings and emotions and
leaning on them in a critical time in our life.
Exodus. 4:1 4 God proves something to Moses on that day as he said unto him, what
is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast or throw it on the ground.
And he threw it on the ground, and it became ... Show more content on

And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand. This must
be mined blowing to say the least. Are you at this place mentality yet for a
supernatural miracle?
The great thing is that Moses like many of us, needed a faith builder. We the
Prophets of God, in this generation are like our prophetic forefathers, we have our
faith built by our afflictions and life drama and we see that God proves himself in
our lives daily. Prophets, God is still asking each one of us this same question, What
is in our hands? What will it take to make you believe that I m your God the source
of the supernatural?
Prophets, yes, we have the talents, the abilities, and even if we have material
possessions, with a limited knowledge of the Truth, please remember this. All things,
that God has put in our hands have been sanctified with the rod of God s authority
through the begetting of the Holy Spirit.
This is a life changing principle and we need to embrace. This is something I
highly encourage you to never forget. Yes, it is life changing and supernatural. We
may feel inadequate at times, and so unworthy of this honor, just as the great
Moses did. We know that in our own selves we come far short of his glory, but this
worked for Moses and will work for you and me. Let us begin today to embrace it,
right
43. Psychological Ownership Paper
In psychology, ownership is the feeling that something is yours. People can feel
ownership about a variety of things, material and immaterial in nature. Is there a way
organizations can benefit from higher employee engagement, increased financial
performance and lower turnover, simply by increasing feelings of ownership? In mid
1970s, the USA carried out the Employee Stock Ownership Plans. The thought behind
this project was that if employees held some shares of the company, it would enhance
their sense of responsibility toward the enterprise and activate their positive attitude
toward the work. Interestingly, researchers found that there were no significant
differences in organizational performance between an enterprise which adopted...

Pierce, Kostova and Dirks (2001) define it: psychological ownership is that state
where an individual feels as though the target of the ownership, or a piece of that
target is theirs For example, this company is MINE . However, Pierce and Jussila
(2010) note that mine can also be ours , meaning the object has a connection with the
self while simultaneously having a connection to another individual or group.
Although it is important to note that most of the empirical work on psychological
ownership has focused exclusively upon psychological ownership over one s job
or organization. Van Dyne and Pierce (2004) took it one step further, and called for
additional research to approach and examine feelings of ownership toward specific
targets within organizations. They examined various aspects of the job or
organization, such as specific job roles, designated workspaces, important projects,
new ideas and so on. This is because these objects may be more concrete or personal
and thus foster stronger feelings of ownership than more complex, shared targets such
as the organization as a whole.
According to Jussila, Tarkiainen, Sarstedt and Hair (2015) psychological ownership
is both cognitive and affective. In other words, it reflects the employees awareness,
thoughts, and beliefs regarding the object of possession and the personal
