Three Ways Police and Probation Officers can Reduce Gang...
Police and probation officers use two words to describe their jobs, to protect and to serve. Not only do
they put their lives in danger every day, but also help the community in more ways than one. Some
ways that police and probation officers can help lower gang violence is by implementing laws more
accordingly, establishing a relationship with troubled youth, and creating programs that benefit their
well being. The root of gang violence all begins at home and then spreads. A troubled teen may be
lacking the love and attention from their parent whether it is because they work too much, or simply
do not care. Then, the teen will result attending school and will begin to find that comfort in places
that they can feel stability. According ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If parents cannot control their children then police officers will need to teach teens why breaking the
law does not have a lovely consequence. Probation officers tend to deal with the softer side of
reducing gang violence. Once a teen is arrested for having or selling drugs then they are assigned a
probation officer that will follow up on their progress and insure they are staying out of trouble. They
will do routine visits to their home, place of work, or school. Especially for teens that are involved in
gang violence this could be an important factor to getting them to release their old ways and straighten
out. If a teen is part of a gang chances are they will be willing to take responsibility when they are
caught with drugs. The purpose of the probation officer will be educating them on why that life style
could not benefit their well being in any way. Instead, they will try to suggest distancing themselves
from those so called friends that only indulge bad behaviors. A probation officer can even suggest to
the court once they report back to the judge that the teen may need to be relocated whether it be to
another school or with another family member. This will allow positive reinforcements to surround
them.
` We establish that building a good relationship with these teens is essential. According to David
Forbes, he interviewed a probation officer named Sharon who stated in order to be a good probation

Ndlorukazi Nandi kaBebe eLangeni, Queen, Mother, and Influential Woman
History is filled with an endless number of very significant individuals that are remembered because
they never gave up, even when all odds were against them. Ndlorukazi Nandi kaBebe eLangeni was
an exceptional woman that was demoted to the bottom but raised her children to be fearless and know
they can work their way up. She became a very powerful queen over the Zulu clan. Nandi is a very
strong individual that never let the negativity of others get in her way. She was also a determined
woman that always spoke her mind. Her humble beginnings and the struggles she faced in her early
years made her strong and resilient. Later, she shared a special bond with her son that was built by all
of the experiences that they shared. Her courage would serve her well when she became a queen.

Nandi is said to have died from dysentery but there was talk that Shaka killed her. There was much
controversy on how Nandi actually died. One story says Shaka s aunt claimed Shaka killed Nandi so
people would turn against him. Zulu belief has it that Shaka killed women he impregnated to prevent
heirs from taking his throne as he became increasingly paranoid during the later years of his reign. It is
said Shaka stabbed Nandi with a sharp spear because she let one of the women he impregnated leave
with her son. Nandi was buried two days after her death with others they killed because custom said a
person of her rank could not die alone. They killed cooks and servants to accompany her in the
afterlife. The death of Nandi sent Shaka and his people into a year of mourning. The people were
thrown into a panic and as a result, thousands of people and cattle were killed. An Emkindini uMuzi
was built in Melmoth in her honor. Nandi s death was tragic and took its toll on all the

Sex Therapy Is The Appropriate Treatment For Sexual...
Today sex therapy is known to have been founded by Masters and Johnson (1970), whos published
report on a new therapeutic approach to sexual problems, revolutionized what health professionals
saw as the appropriate treatment for sexual dysfunction. In contrast to psychoanalytical approaches,
the new sex therapy was relatively brief, problem focused, direct and behavioral with regard to
technique. Ultimately, the large majority of sexual difficulties were seen as arising from a sexually
restrictive or religiously orthodox upbringing.
This resulted in decreased communication with sexual partners, a lack of information about normal
sexual functioning and subsequent anxiety and preoccupation over performance during sexual
interactions. Theirs was a learning model of sexual functioning and the objectives of treatment
consisted of effectively achieving alleviation of performance anxiety and re educating clients
regarding sexuality.
In 1974 Helen Kaplan used Masters and Johnson s new therapy and elaborated her version with a
direct approach to symptom treatment that worked. Nonetheless, many clients resisted the new
behavioral techniques and the therapist relied on other methods of theory and interpersonal roles of
sexual dysfunction. In other words, clients with serious underlying causes did not respond well to
direct intervention.
Masters and Johnson (1970), sex therapy included short term but intensive work with the couple. The
work detailed information about human anatomy

A Good Strategy Drives Business
A good strategy drives business. In some previous definition, the role of a strategist has been relevant
to outsourced specialists and analytic number crunchers. Hence, the main responsibility of a leader is
more likely to be a theory and principle, wh0ich is devised by MBAs and consultants. In the book The
Strategist, the author Cynthia Montgomery plainly redefines strategy and teaching the leaders about
being an effective strategist in an organization. Moreover, she also points out that the procedure of
being a strategist or a leader rather than merely building a new set of business model to be learned and
utilized. Based on her legendary strategy courses on the executive education program at Harvard
Business School, and inspired by her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because they think that these elaborative procedures can guide the companies to implement
better performance. On the other hand, Montgomery demonstrates that an effective strategy should
continuously modify and maintain rather than finishing in once. Put simply, the strategy needs to
appropriate follow and adjust present company s condition and the change of external environment.
Furthermore, the strategy, as a heart and inspiration in a company, should be constantly upgraded, and
the leaders have to recognize the intimate relevance between strategy and leadership. In the book, the
author also redefines that a good strategy is never frozen and should be implemented over time.
Accordingly, leaders play an important role in investigating suitable strategies for their companies,
and just like Montgomery mentions in the book that leader is the one who must shepherd this ongoing
process, must stand watch, identify and weigh, decide and move, time and time again (Cynthia
Montgomery, 2012). As a result, rather than using consultants to describe the strategies, a leader must
be placed in a strategist position in order to bring the companies and organizations to achieve its long
term business success. To emphasize the significance of business strategy, Montgomery uses Masco as
a representative example to verify her standpoint. The organization is a

Marie Antoinette Was To Blame For The French Revolution
The Archduchess of Austria, Marie Antoinette, married Louis XVI of France at the young age of 14.
After seven years of marriage and no children, Marie s mother sent her son to act as a marriage
counselor for the couple, and they had their first child a year later. She became Queen of France after
Louis s father died, yet had no political power and was often left to her own devices, including lavish
spending and eloquent parties. In her early years as queen she spent a lot of time at the Petit Trianon, a
summer castle and gift from her husband, where rumours circulated about her having an affair with
Swedish diplomat Count Axel von Fersen, which in reality was a platonic crush. At her estate she
redecorated everything extravagantly, rumours saying she plastered the walls with gold and diamonds,

guns and ammunition, then circled the Palace of Versailles to demand the royals be brought to Paris.

advisers and ambassadors sending letters to European rulers begging to help them. With the help of
Axel von Fersen, Marie plotted to escape to Austria where her brother, the Holy Roman Emperor
Leopold II, was waiting with an army to fend off pursuing Frenchmen but they never made it. The
royals were escorted back to Paris and the French declared war on Austria where they were defeated;
the blame going to their Austrian born queen. The National Assembly abolished the monarchy a few
months later and the king and queen were put in prison. Louis XVI was tried for treason and executed;
a few months later Marie Antoinette was put on trial, lost custody of her son, and was sent to the

Aboriginal Discrimination And Aboriginal People
Overview
For many centuries the original inhabitants of Canada, the Aboriginals, have suffered at the hands of
the government. From unrightly abducting their land to racial discrimination and forcing them to
comply with Euro Canadian culture, Indigenous people had every right to be enraged. Indigenous, or
Aboriginal people is a title given to the original settlers and their descendants of North America.
Indians (or First nations), Metis and Inuit, are 3 groups of distinct peoples with unique histories,
languages, cultural practices and spiritual beliefs, and it is unfair to call them one. In Canada today,
more than 1.7 million people identify themselves as an Aboriginal person. Amongst the many first
nations communities here in Canada, The Algonquin people are the most recognized since their
historic land deal with the federal and provincial government back in October 2016. Originally living
in southern Quebec and eastern Ontario, today, Algonquin people have adapted to living in urban
communities across these areas. Due to the changing in lifestyle, aboriginal people have had to adjust.
To them land is much more than something you buy and own, it s the thing that governs their
spirituality intertwining their lives deeply with nature. With a switch in the way they feed themselves,
clothes themselves, and protect themselves, it is destined for them to feel a sense of emptiness in their
hearts. Most of Crown owned land has still to be returned today, and the loss of their

Churches In The Middle Ages
The fundamental teachings of Christianity count no place more holy than any other: Jesus himself
says, Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Matthew
18:20, KJV). Throughout the middle Ages, Pilgrims sought to close the distance between themselves
and God by engaging in physical travel toward a spiritual goal. Before 1000 B.C. churches were
simply built to allow villagers in their respective areas to be able to worship the God they believed in.
Starting with the Romanesque style, and later the Gothic style architecture, churches began to become
massive monuments built to house sculptures, be early tourism destinations, and simply allow the
people in growing cities to all worship at one central location. Pilgrims shaped the churches through
their architect style of Romanesque and Gothic cathedrals, and variation artwork in both era s. ...

greatest achievement of Romanesque architects in Churches was the use of stone vaulted buildings.
This was a ceiling over a room built in a variety of curved shapes. This new type of building styled

Individual Vs Utilitarianism
It is believed that the utilitarian concept does not allow for an individual to invoke what they feel is
their God given right because utilitarianism is mainly concerned with achieving the greatest good for
the majority of people with little concern about the individual . Based on this theory, it would be in the
highest order to actually infringe on an individual s rights so as to benefit the greater population. This
theory is rarely ever concerned with justice, benevolence, egocentricity, or independence of a single
person if the outcome does not benefit the greater amount of people
First let us further examine what is defined as utilitarianism. Utilitarianism states that ever act should
comply with the principle of utility. It points out what we ought to do and what we shall do. It also,
pushes for the most pleasure, with the least pain, for the majority of people involved. Why do people
make certain choices? Utilitarianism states that we are now slaves to pain and pleasure and knowing
the balance between the two will assist in knowing what choices others will make. While with a
utilitarian mindset, making moral decisions based on God given rights are no longer as important as
decisions based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of self preservation, self protection, self acknowledgement, self fulfillment, self regard is
pretty taboo if one is to be aligned with this line of thinking. Dream fulfillment is not an ideology of
this theory. There is no place for super heroes or those who seek to do good for personal gain. The
individual always has to have others on his/her mind and consider how the outcome would affect the
whole. They do good without justification and/or qualification. Even if nothing is accomplished,
happiness was achieved. As mentioned above, utilitarianism is done to solely reach the maximum
goal. It is not focused on justice if oppressing the individual leads to a solution that benefits the most

Social Contract Theory Vs Natural Law Theory
Unlike the Natural Law theory, I believe the Social Contract Theory may have been more beneficial
when it comes to Women s Rights. Social Contract Ethics was a theory that allowed human beings to
live in a stable environment and achieve their personal interests (Shafer Landau, The Fundamentals of
Ethics). Unlike Natural Law, the Social Contract Theory was based on rules, thought of by Thomas
Hobbes, that pulled the human race together and allowed for organization. Another Social Contract
theorist named John Rawls later said that the Social Contract Theory allows individuals the
opportunity to gain more achievements because ones birth rights are simply luck (Grant). This means
that we can be born rich or poor, but that wouldn t matter because ... Show more content on

Not everyone believes in the same things, and theories are often based on religion, culture, and the
way we were raised. For example, I was raised to believe that I have the same rights and
responsibilities as the men in my life. I was raised to work for what I want, respect my elders, and
always follow the rules that are in place; or accept the consequences. I believe that my childhood was
based off of the theory of Deontological Ethics. Deontology concentrates on someone doing the right
thing while also doing ones duty as a human being (Rosenstand, The Moral of the Story An
Introduction to Ethics). The only problem is that some obligations often have consequences. For
example, when I was sixteen years old I began my first job. My father was a single parent, and he
wanted to raise me to work for the things that I wanted and needed regardless of the fact that I was a
young lady still in school. He wanted to make sure that I learned the way of life and that I would
realize what it was like to be an adult. He wanted me to learn that everything could not be handed to
me just because I am a female. Of course, he had consequences to deal with by choosing this method
of approach. My grades went from straight A s to some B s. Regardless, I appreciate him using this
ethical theory to help me grow into the woman I am today. I

Slavery In African American History
Modern and historical forces combine to keep the racial hierarchy in the dominant cultures control.
Historically, slavery was diplomatically protected within our constitution safeguarding the control and
ownership of African Americans. The three fifths compromise written into the constitution in 1787,
safeguarded slaveowners by greatly increase the representation and political power of slave owning
states (Laws, 2017). Slavery was widespread within the southern states until the year of 1865, when
slavery and involuntary servitude were abolished, except for those duly convicted of a crime. Between
1866 and 1870, through congress a radical reconstruction era was executed ensuring guaranteed
freedom and civil rights to former slaves. These turn of events, incensed southern slave owners giving
rise to white Supremacy and the Ku Klux Klan. Such historical events and accounts help us

John Keats And The Romantic Period
BEAUY AND TRUTH AND THE GRECIAN URN
Dept. No: 15/PELA/031
John Keats is a romantic poet and he belongs to the Romantic Period. He was born in London and was
educated at a private school at Enfield, and at the age of fifteen he was apprenticed to a surgeon. He
lost interest in surgery, and the career of a poet became a bright possibility when he made the
acquaintance of Leigh Hunt, the famous Radical journalist and poet. When Keats was about seventeen
years old he became acquainted with Spencer, and this proved to be the turning point in his life. The
mannerism of Elizabethan immediately captivated him and he began to imitate him. Keats health was
already failing but the amount of poetry he wrote is marvellous, both in magnitude and in quality. ...

It was, as we say nowadays, objective; it was concrete; it moved not in a world of philosophic thought

towards the drama as the form which offered the most complete fulfilment of its own nature. We shall
find no deeper, nor any more transparent, phrase for the contents of Keats ideal poetry than his own
familiar words: the principle of beauty in all things. (Keats and Shakespeare 75 Murry)
This phrase is rightly and usually remembered in the form in which Keats wrote it to Fanny Brawne

Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglass, An American...
In 1845 Frederick Douglass published his first book Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an
American Slave. This book not only showed people what life was truly like in the eyes of a slave, but
it became instrumental in propelling the abolitionist movement and helping it gain motion all across
the country. Douglass was truly a revolutionary person because throughout the duration of slavery,
African American people were not permitted to be educated. This was considered dangerous. It wasn t
until Frederick Douglass was moved to Boston, where slaves were treated more like people instead of
cattle, that he learned to read and write. When Frederick was 20 years old he escaped to Massachusetts
and began to learn more about the abolitionist movement; this lead to him writing his first book. None
of this would have been possible, however, without Douglass learning how to read and write.
Education is a major key in lifting people of color out of oppression.
The wife of Douglass s master began teaching him to read as he was just a boy at the time and he
appealed to her humanity. When Hugh Auld, Douglass s master, found out about what his wife was
doing he became livid and forbade her to teach him anymore. Auld said that if she taught him to read
he would become ...unmanageable, and of no value to his master. And that it would make Douglass

Fossil Fuels And Alternative Methods Of Generating...
FOSSIL FUELS AND ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF GENERATING ELECTRICITY
What are fossil fuels?
Fossil fuels are natural resources created under the Earth s surface from the remains of ancient
organisms. These organisms include plants and animals and other organic matter.
How are fossil fuels formed?
Millions of years ago most of the land on Earth was covered with swamps and forests. As trees and
plants died, they would sink to the bottom of the swamps. As more trees and plants died their remains
would bury dead plants and organic matter underneath them creating layers of dead plants. As the
layers of rotting material build up in the forests and swamps it is compressed by the heavy weight of
the plants and water. This weight with high temperatures removes the moisture from the organic
decaying matter. This creates peat. Over millions of years peat was covered by sand and clay and other
minerals. These sediments changed into rocks called sedimentary rocks.
Rock continued to pile up and compress the peat. This caused the water to be squeezed from the peat.
Over millions of year this process turned peat into fossil fuels such as natural gas, oil and coal.
Three examples of fossil fuels
Three examples of fossil fuels include:

Oil

How are these fossil fuels used in Australia?

Coal is used to produce 80% of the nation s electricity use. This is achieved by the burning of the coal

The Importance Of The Patriot Act
After the attack on September 11, 2001, the United States implemented the Patriot Act. This new act
was signed by President George W. Bush on October 26, 2001, and brought about many changes to
make the United States strong by making changes that would help guard against terrorism.
The Patriot Act was implemented right after the September 11 occurrence. This act revised the
electronic surveillance which allows the administration to eavesdrop on anyone. Although Patriot Act
was rejected before the September 11 incidence, the legislative body overturned their decision by the
Bush Administration. Although some members of the committee did not have a chance to review the
Patriot Act, but it was voted in successfully and signed by President Bush. Before the Patriot Act went
into effect, surveillance was limited by the authorities (Surveillance Under the USA/Patriot Act,
2017). As stated by Hall (2015), The USA Patriot Act amended existing surveillance statutes. When
the Fourth Amendment and these statutes are viewed as a whole, electronic and wire surveillance can

authorization was limited to only designate offences to listen to discussions on the telephone;

Analysis Of The Poem The Dead
McCrea and Cheng have differing views on the role of identity within Joyce s The Dead. McCrea
argues that identity is incomplete because of the limitations of language whereas Cheng argues that
the cultural atmosphere shapes identity. I, however, agree with certain aspects of both arguments.
Firstly, I believe that McCrea s focus on failed communication is needed to understand the nature of
identity within The Dead; however, McCrea incorrectly blames everything on the failure of language,
when the individual and society is also partly responsible. Therefore, I believe that Cheng s argument,
that the environment partly forms identity, is valid; however, he needlessly restricts the Conroys
identities by directly comparing them to Britain and Ireland. I will use Cheng s focus on a culturally
formed identity in tandem with McCrea s thematic focus on failed communication within The Dead to
answer the question of why Gabriel Conroy s identity fades at the end of The Dead (248). To answer
this question, I will consider Gabriel s personal thoughts about himself, others, and how he responds
to each challenge he receives to his personhood.
First, we must discuss the state of Gabriel s identity before it fades. Before it fades, he is
misunderstood. This fact is seen when Gabriel has a conversation with Lily. During this conversation,
Gabriel exclaims that I suppose we ll be going to your wedding one of these fine days with your

Generational Differences in the Classroom
Most people have a learning style that mirrors how they were taught when they were younger. It
should be noted that there is not a one size fits all method when it comes to learning. The key to being
able to appeal to each of the different generations is to offer diversity in teaching styles in order to
satisfy the different preferences. As of now, there are four generations that are in the workforce and
those four generations are: The Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and the Millennials.

and are not retiring as they were expected to (Levonius, 2015). The Baby Boomers were taught to

this generation was in school there was a grade inflation in the educational system, and the Boomer s

taught by lecture, and the technology they had included overhead projectors and some videos (Warren,
2012). Since this generation was accustomed to trying to achieve high grades they became
achievement oriented adults. Education was quite a bit different from earlier generations in this era
(Olson, 2011). There was more emphasis placed on students to finish high school, and for the first
time in history more students were attending college. From both the size of the generation as well as
their impact to society, Baby Boomers have strong sense of self and a desire for involvement in their
world, particularly at work (Olson, 2011). They have a strong work ethic, and a desire to receive

My Hero Is A Hero
What Makes My Hero a Hero
The word hero is a small word with a big meaning. A hero is someone who is admired or idealized for
courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Depending on who your hero is, and what they
do, show different characteristics. In numerous ways, my Uncle Clint is my personal hero. In my eyes,
his characteristics are: courage, bravery, and selflessness. He is brave because he sacrificed his life to
fight for our country. He rejoined the military when he did not have to, just to be able to serve his
country, knowing he would be deployed. Most people would not want to risk their life, but my Uncle
Clint did. He was willing to go fight and leave his family when others would not. He was hurt early on

He left his family and girlfriend to carry on his family history with the military. No one made him
join, he just set his mind to something he wanted to do and finished through it. He does not know just
how much he means to me and my family.
My Uncle Clint has always been someone that has been there for me and loved me. In my eyes he
would be a hero to me even if he did not go into the military. Him joining in the military, and rejoining
a second time showed that he did not give up. It showed that, that is something he put his mind to and
was not going to stop until he finished. My Uncle Clint is a strong man who is teaching everyone
around him from right and wrong. He wants the best for everyone he meets. He is not one that will let
his family go without. He makes sure to put everyone else above him. My Uncle Clint will always be
my hero.
What surprises me is how many people look up to him, for example, his son. Wesley wants to join and
serve his country just like his dad. When I see someone who knows my Uncle Clint, they tell me just
how blessed I am for him to be my uncle. It is crazy how he could impact as many lives as he has. He
would lay down his life for anyone. That shows not only me, but everyone who knows him that he
would do anything for anyone. I do not know what still goes through his mind, but he still chooses to
be strong. I learned from the interview that he is strong and will fight for what he believes

Benefits Of A Successful Business
In order to have a successful business, businesses need to find a way to keep employees motivated to
do their jobs and increase work satisfaction. This is undeniably crucial for a business to continue to be
profitable. Some solutions to this problem are incentives, having a good work environment, and
showing appreciation.
When employees perform poorly by not doing their job or not doing their job well, it reflects
negatively on the business. Customers who are not satisfied, may complain and may not return.
Customers can also discourage others from going to that particular establishment by telling their
friends about their terrible experience. The business then loses money from that customer and that
customers friends who now do business with the competition. That business may now have a bad
reputation that started from that one customer s negative experience (Deeb).
By keeping employees pleased and excited at their jobs, they tend to perform better than those
employees who are not please at their job. In an article written by John Waggoner, he wrote, If a
company treats its employees well, the business should prosper.... So in other words, the business
makes money if the employees are pleased. Employees who are given incentive tend to perform better
at their jobs than people who do not receive incentive. Google is an example of a company that is
highly successful and is known for having generous benefits for their employees to par take. The stock
at Google has climbed

The New Liberal Arts Ungar Summary
In the 20th century, there are many individuals that can argue whether going to college is the correct
decision to make right after graduating high school. Ungar and Murray, go head to head, and give
detailed and credible information to back up their opinion on why individuals should consider
attending college.
According to Unger s article, The New Liberal Arts, he solely concentrates on explaining why a liberal
arts college education should be the one that high school graduates should aspire. He explains why
liberal arts should be aspired by high school graduates by dissecting seven common misconceptions
that many people have, and proving them otherwise. Ungar s first misperception tells us how many

He claims that fewer people should go to college because students should have already learned what
will be exposed to them in college, in elementary and middle school. He states, K 8 are the right years
to teach the core knowledge [of liberal education], and the effort should get off to a running start in
elementary school (Murray 2008:23). Basically saying that liberal education should not be studied in
college, but rather in an age where children have more fact based nature. Another argument that
Murray provides in his article is that people solely go to college to earn a reputable resume with a
B.A. to get a decent job. Murray (2008:246) says that large numbers of students are in college to buy
their admission ticket the B.A. In addition, another argument that Murray introduces to support his
idea of why fewer people should attend college is that he believes that individuals might already have
the knowledge and skill to go out into the real world, without needing a college degree. Murray also
believes that individuals that complete college and get B.A. are likely to make less money than if he
were to become a skilled work, such as an electrician, right after high school. Murray writes, In today
s America, finding a first rate lawyer or physician is easy. Finding a first rate skilled labor is hard. This
encourages people not to attend college after high school, but

Flathead Catfish Research Paper
As the sun starts to go down an angler stands waist deep in the murky green waters of the Mississippi
River. He anxiously awaits for the right moment to grasp onto his next big catch. All of the sudden, he
reaches into the water and he feels his whole arm being swallowed by a massive fish eating machine.
The angler struggles as the fish fights back and wants to let go but not on his watch. He lifts his arm
up in the air and there it is, a massive 60 pound beast clamping down on his arm. This hand fishing
method is better known as noodling. It is a common fishing practice used to catch flathead catfish in
southern states such as Alabama and Mississippi. The fish eating machine of the North American

Discouraging High Testosterone Levels
In today s society, high testosterone levels are discouraged. In a world where we work in cubicles,
where violence gets you sent to prison, and where we are required to swallow our pride, to do what we
are told. Considering this, you could be led to believe that men are being poisoned intentionally. A
conspiracy, that guarantees we conform to their standards, throughout our lives.
Okay, before you dismiss me as a conspiracy theorist, take note that the Soviets were the first to add
fluoride to the drinking water, in prisons. They wanted to decrease testosterone levels, and to make
prisoners submissive. Considering testosterone is the driving force behind the courage of men, and I
seriously doubt the warden had any concern with dental health.
Now that you are ready to commit to a lifestyle that allows for the highest possible testosterone levels,
what do you do?

Detoxifying sounds a lot worse than it really is. There are no enemas, or expensive juicer diets. You
just need to consume a form of sulfur, such as MSM, and zeolite. Both zeolite and MSM are fairly
inexpensive, and found readily at health and wellness stores.
Zeolite is formed when volcanic ash reacts with the surrounding rocks. This mineral has a regular,
porous framework that allows filtering, based on size. This molecular sieve, catches toxic substances,
with its characteristic structure, and allows the impurities to be excreted, in your urine. All research

Pathological Gambling
Pathological gambling is depicted by an absence of control of gambling behavior, failed efforts to
leave or cut back, leniency, use of betting to getaway difficulties, and dishonest to family and friends
about gambling comportment (American Psychiatric Association [APA], 2000a). Difficulty and
pathological gambling have also been linked with poorer levels of wellbeing and greater percentages
of disorders throughout populaces (Erickson, Molina, Ladd, Pietrzak, Petry, 2005). Since the
development of permissible gambling, there has been a resultant upsurge in gambling involvement
and gambling glitches (Shaffer Hall, 2001). People with gambling glitches have considerable liability
and jumbled family contacts (Shaw, Forbush, Schlinder, Rosenman, Black, 2007).
Older adults may be more susceptible to gambling glitches due to unchanging earnings, monotony,
and declined activity after retirement, and pathological gamblers have greater degrees of
apprehension, despair, and intoxication (Kerber, Black, Buckwalter, 2008). Older adults with
gambling glitches are also susceptible to comorbid physical diseases. Older adult gamblers may have
felt the extra monetary tension that distresses their physical wellbeing (Pietrzak, Molina, Ladd, Kerins,
Petry, 2005).
Pathological gambling is an increasing public health setback that has received bantam consideration
from investigators, the government, or the overall public. With the development of permissible

Gender In Ismat Beauvoir
The French feminist Simone de Beauvoir famously declared one is not born but rather becomes a
woman . Beauvoir s thesis distinguishes the two categories sex and gender and suggests that while
sexuality may be natural and physical, gender is a social construct inculcated through cultural
conditioning. Sex is understood as something unalterable, constant, associated with the anatomy
whereas gender is the cultural meaning and the form that is ascribed to the body. Despite the fact that
gender and sex are distinct from each other unequal power play and sexual politics continues to be
important between different gender roles. Beauvoir is also of the view that the prime category of
human thought is relation between self and the other. Society ... Show more content on

Prior to Chugtai, the writers of PWA focused attention on the exploitation of poor women belonging to
the lower segment of Muslim society. Chughtai for the first time turned her attention to the zenana of
the upper middle class families and questioned the notion of the ideal Muslim woman by placing in
proximity this idea against the depiction of women s oppression and transgression in her short stories.
Sarat Kumar Jena observes that the zenana is the place which the women occupy in a Muslim
household. The zenana connotes a space that is womanly and feminine . In the twentieth century
British India the zenana became a domestic space for protecting cultural and social interests of the
Muslim community. In an environment of political turbulence and the struggle for independence
where women were also participating, the zenana becomes an area of seclusion, a gendered space. It
becomes an area of exclusion, seen as a symbol of the Muslim woman who in this politically unstable
climate became a representative of cultural values and tradition. It becomes a space of the ideal wife .

Argumentative Essay On Mexican Migrant Workers
The phenomenal growth farming, minding, railroad construction, and commercial fishing all have a
story of transnational families and shattered dreams. With the coming of the Mexican Revolution in
1910, many mexicans fled north to the United States in order to escape the bloodshed in search of new
lives. Sadly their dream for a better life did not come true. Migrant workers work for low wages in
extreme conditions such as extreme heat, discomfort, and danger, as well as struggling to have a stable
life for their families. The disastrous great depression left many people unemployed. As a result, a
large number of caucasian people took over many migrant workers jobs in California. This left many
Mexicans and Filipinos desperate and willing to do anything for money. Farm workers were often
unpaid and were denied the right to unionize, a right that all other American workers enjoyed. Migrant
workers are from different ethnicities such as Mexicans, Mexican Americans, Europeans, but most of
the population is made up of Mexican migrant workers. Migrant workers lived a very harsh work
environment as well as a harsh society interactions. Mexican farm workers were offered a legally
binding work contract, but the majority suffered gross abuses of their labor rights and racial
discrimination. Migrant workers have always played a vital role in the US economy, so they should
not be treated as illegal or undeserving individuals. People have always harassed migrant workers and

Child Rearing Styles Are Different As The Parents Are
Nashika Turner 2/26/2015 DEP2004 Professor Hernandez Child rearing styles are as different as the
parents are. Child rearing is a standout amongst the most difficult and troublesome obligations an
individual can confront. The way a family is organized is known as the child rearing style. Child
rearing styles are accumulations of parental state of mind, practices, and non verbal interpretations
that portray the way of guardian kid connections. Since people figure out how to parent from a wide
range of samples including their own guardians, good examples, society and backgrounds. Child
rearing procedures can fluctuate significantly from family unit to family unit, then again, specialists
accept that child rearing styles can be separated into four fundamental classifications which
permissive, authoritarian, authoritative, and neglectful. The style of child rearing with which kids are
raised can significantly influence their social advancement, and also their capacities to manage life
circumstances as grown ups. Folks who take after the lenient style of child rearing have not very many
standards, no predictable cutoff points, and as a rule offer into their kids. In a tolerant family, the kids
are in control. Authoritative Parenting Authoritative child rearing is one of the better known methods
for raising up the children, without going excessively high on freedom or order. Definitive folks know

underneath the exterior lay indicators of Disney s corrupt ideals. Common people are deceived into

The power that these companies gain allows these businesses to control, to a certain extent, politics

Walt Disney, the founder of Disney, imposed his political beliefs by marketing films and rides that

I think it is a good ideas to teach children about what is right from wrong when they are young. I like
to tell children that they can work better together when they fully understand each other. Now and
days students have tons of technology in the classroom that most people feel that will help them learn.
Others feel like technology blocks student from learning because they depend on google. I ve heard
some students say that if you don t know the answer then you can just google it. Children are being
raised in the technology generation where technology is everywhere. But why stop children from
using technology when that s all that is big shown on television, in the media, magazines, radio, etc.
From reading a new article from Pinellas County School District I learned that the children from

great idea to have children interact through technology. Why? Because the questions that the children

that the children over there have experienced. In case of emergency, how do you get off the island

Antigone As A Tragic Hero
Antigone is a tragedy by the ancient Greek playwright Sophocles, which depicts two extraordinary
cases for a tragic hero. Both Creon and Antigone are the principal characters of the play to be tragic
heroes. A tragic hero is a character who is known for being noble and has an imperfection that helps to
his or her destruction. Creon and Antigone are honorable and defective in their own particular
manners, having a comparative deplorable imperfection. The greatest golfer ever known as Tiger
Woods is portrayed as a modern day tragic hero because of his flaw of over the top pride leading to the
decimation of his profession and relationship. Tiger takes responsibility for his actions, yet it is too
late and he would has to tolerate the inevitable consequences. Antigone is portrayed as a character
who is very proud her pride is one of the elements that causes her downfall. Antigone has her mind set
on burying her brother Polyneices and she will stop at nothing until she does what will bring her great
glory. Creon remains firm on his decision, anyone who pursues to bury Polyneices, the one who
attacked the city, will be punished by death. Antigone is also described as egotistical in the way that
she reveals to her sister who won t become involved with Polyneices burial oh tell it! Tell everyone!

Psychologist Jean Piaget proposed two kind of interaction: * Simple interactions: putting together *
Emergentism: adding more to what was put together
The first box shows simple interaction while the second box shows emergentism. Diagram 2 shows us

In this short story rainsford faces the struggles of the ocean, plants, animals, day, and night. He faces
all of this in order to survive because out in nature it s about survival ofthe fittest, prey or predator, to
kill or to be killed. Rainford makes up his minds and says he s not dying today. Rainford has his whole
life planned out ahead of him and he s not going to let a few bugs bites and killer hounds get in the
way of his future. Nature can get in the way of life just like people. For example typhoons, hurricanes,
and tornadoes are all different parts of nature that destroy things and get in our way of everyday life.
Hurricanes have ruined cities and flooded homes up to the point where these people have had to
evacuate. Volcanic eruptions, hot lava spuese everywhere and the only thing that can be done is to
leave and just let nature take its course.
Nature always unexpectedly throws an obstacle at anyone. This short story The Most Dangerous

each other, they both pull people, animals, and things in, both are hard to get out of, its like a trap. The

  • 2. Three Ways Police and Probation Officers can Reduce Gang... Police and probation officers use two words to describe their jobs, to protect and to serve. Not only do they put their lives in danger every day, but also help the community in more ways than one. Some ways that police and probation officers can help lower gang violence is by implementing laws more accordingly, establishing a relationship with troubled youth, and creating programs that benefit their well being. The root of gang violence all begins at home and then spreads. A troubled teen may be lacking the love and attention from their parent whether it is because they work too much, or simply do not care. Then, the teen will result attending school and will begin to find that comfort in places that they can feel stability. According ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If parents cannot control their children then police officers will need to teach teens why breaking the law does not have a lovely consequence. Probation officers tend to deal with the softer side of reducing gang violence. Once a teen is arrested for having or selling drugs then they are assigned a probation officer that will follow up on their progress and insure they are staying out of trouble. They will do routine visits to their home, place of work, or school. Especially for teens that are involved in gang violence this could be an important factor to getting them to release their old ways and straighten out. If a teen is part of a gang chances are they will be willing to take responsibility when they are caught with drugs. The purpose of the probation officer will be educating them on why that life style could not benefit their well being in any way. Instead, they will try to suggest distancing themselves from those so called friends that only indulge bad behaviors. A probation officer can even suggest to the court once they report back to the judge that the teen may need to be relocated whether it be to another school or with another family member. This will allow positive reinforcements to surround them. ` We establish that building a good relationship with these teens is essential. According to David Forbes, he interviewed a probation officer named Sharon who stated in order to be a good probation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Sex Therapy Is The Appropriate Treatment For Sexual... Today sex therapy is known to have been founded by Masters and Johnson (1970), whos published report on a new therapeutic approach to sexual problems, revolutionized what health professionals saw as the appropriate treatment for sexual dysfunction. In contrast to psychoanalytical approaches, the new sex therapy was relatively brief, problem focused, direct and behavioral with regard to technique. Ultimately, the large majority of sexual difficulties were seen as arising from a sexually restrictive or religiously orthodox upbringing. This resulted in decreased communication with sexual partners, a lack of information about normal sexual functioning and subsequent anxiety and preoccupation over performance during sexual interactions. Theirs was a learning model of sexual functioning and the objectives of treatment consisted of effectively achieving alleviation of performance anxiety and re educating clients regarding sexuality. In 1974 Helen Kaplan used Masters and Johnson s new therapy and elaborated her version with a direct approach to symptom treatment that worked. Nonetheless, many clients resisted the new behavioral techniques and the therapist relied on other methods of theory and interpersonal roles of sexual dysfunction. In other words, clients with serious underlying causes did not respond well to direct intervention. Masters and Johnson (1970), sex therapy included short term but intensive work with the couple. In some previous definition, the role of a strategist has been relevant to outsourced specialists and analytic number crunchers. Hence, the main responsibility of a leader is more likely to be a theory and principle, wh0ich is devised by MBAs and consultants. In the book The Strategist, the author Cynthia Montgomery plainly redefines strategy and teaching the leaders about being an effective strategist in an organization. Moreover, she also points out that the procedure of being a strategist or a leader rather than merely building a new set of business model to be learned and utilized. Based on her legendary strategy courses on the executive education program at Harvard Business School, and inspired by her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because they think that these elaborative procedures can guide the companies to implement better performance. On the other hand, Montgomery demonstrates that an effective strategy should continuously modify and maintain rather than finishing in once. Put simply, the strategy needs to appropriate follow and adjust present company s condition and the change of external environment. Furthermore, the strategy, as a heart and inspiration in a company, should be constantly upgraded, and the leaders have to recognize the intimate relevance between strategy and leadership. In the book, the author also redefines that a good strategy is never frozen and should be implemented over time. Accordingly, leaders play an important role in investigating suitable strategies for their companies, and just like Montgomery mentions in the book that leader is the one who must shepherd this ongoing process, must stand watch, identify and weigh, decide and move, time and time again (Cynthia Montgomery, 2012). As a result, rather than using consultants to describe the strategies, a leader must be placed in a strategist position in order to bring the companies and organizations to achieve its long term business success. To emphasize the significance of business strategy, Montgomery uses Masco as a representative example to verify her standpoint. The organization is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Marie Antoinette Was To Blame For The French Revolution The Archduchess of Austria, Marie Antoinette, married Louis XVI of France at the young age of 14. After seven years of marriage and no children, Marie s mother sent her son to act as a marriage counselor for the couple, and they had their first child a year later. She became Queen of France after Louis s father died, yet had no political power and was often left to her own devices, including lavish spending and eloquent parties. In her early years as queen she spent a lot of time at the Petit Trianon, a summer castle and gift from her husband, where rumours circulated about her having an affair with Swedish diplomat Count Axel von Fersen, which in reality was a platonic crush. At her estate she redecorated everything extravagantly, rumours saying she plastered the walls with gold and diamonds, as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Aboriginal Discrimination And Aboriginal People Overview For many centuries the original inhabitants of Canada, the Aboriginals, have suffered at the hands of the government. From unrightly abducting their land to racial discrimination and forcing them to comply with Euro Canadian culture, Indigenous people had every right to be enraged. Indigenous, or Aboriginal people is a title given to the original settlers and their descendants of North America. Indians (or First nations), Metis and Inuit, are 3 groups of distinct peoples with unique histories, languages, cultural practices and spiritual beliefs, and it is unfair to call them one. In Canada today, more than 1.7 million people identify themselves as an Aboriginal person. Amongst the many first nations communities here in Canada, The Algonquin people are the most recognized since their historic land deal with the federal and provincial government back in October 2016. Originally living in southern Quebec and eastern Ontario, today, Algonquin people have adapted to living in urban communities across these areas. Due to the changing in lifestyle, aboriginal people have had to adjust. To them land is much more than something you buy and own, it s the thing that governs their spirituality intertwining their lives deeply with nature. With a switch in the way they feed themselves, clothes themselves, and protect themselves, it is destined for them to feel a sense of emptiness in their hearts. Churches In The Middle Ages The fundamental teachings of Christianity count no place more holy than any other: Jesus himself says, Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20, KJV). Throughout the middle Ages, Pilgrims sought to close the distance between themselves and God by engaging in physical travel toward a spiritual goal. Before 1000 B.C. churches were simply built to allow villagers in their respective areas to be able to worship the God they believed in. Starting with the Romanesque style, and later the Gothic style architecture, churches began to become massive monuments built to house sculptures, be early tourism destinations, and simply allow the people in growing cities to all worship at one central location. • 9. Individual Vs Utilitarianism It is believed that the utilitarian concept does not allow for an individual to invoke what they feel is their God given right because utilitarianism is mainly concerned with achieving the greatest good for the majority of people with little concern about the individual . Based on this theory, it would be in the highest order to actually infringe on an individual s rights so as to benefit the greater population. This theory is rarely ever concerned with justice, benevolence, egocentricity, or independence of a single person if the outcome does not benefit the greater amount of people First let us further examine what is defined as utilitarianism. Utilitarianism states that ever act should comply with the principle of utility. It points out what we ought to do and what we shall do. It also, pushes for the most pleasure, with the least pain, for the majority of people involved. Why do people make certain choices? Utilitarianism states that we are now slaves to pain and pleasure and knowing the balance between the two will assist in knowing what choices others will make. The individual always has to have others on his/her mind and consider how the outcome would affect the whole. They do good without justification and/or qualification. I learn many things from this project, I got to see the behind the scenes of an organization and all the challenges they come across. At first they would only take out specific breeds, but after the success they had the animal shelter, ask them if they could take other dogs that did not have luck at the shelter. Another thing that Adopt a Rescue Pet does is that they find a foster home for the dogs. Social Contract Ethics was a theory that allowed human beings to live in a stable environment and achieve their personal interests (Shafer Landau, The Fundamentals of Ethics). Unlike Natural Law, the Social Contract Theory was based on rules, thought of by Thomas Hobbes, that pulled the human race together and allowed for organization. Not everyone believes in the same things, and theories are often based on religion, culture, and the way we were raised. For example, I was raised to believe that I have the same rights and responsibilities as the men in my life. I was raised to work for what I want, respect my elders, and always follow the rules that are in place; or accept the consequences. I believe that my childhood was based off of the theory of Deontological Ethics. Deontology concentrates on someone doing the right thing while also doing ones duty as a human being (Rosenstand, The Moral of the Story An Introduction to Ethics). The only problem is that some obligations often have consequences. For example, when I was sixteen years old I began my first job. My father was a single parent, and he wanted to raise me to work for the things that I wanted and needed regardless of the fact that I was a young lady still in school. He wanted to make sure that I learned the way of life and that I would realize what it was like to be an adult. He wanted me to learn that everything could not be handed to me just because I am a female. Of course, he had consequences to deal with by choosing this method of approach. My grades went from straight A s to some B s. Regardless, I appreciate him using this ethical theory to help me grow into the woman I am today. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He was born in London and was educated at a private school at Enfield, and at the age of fifteen he was apprenticed to a surgeon. He lost interest in surgery, and the career of a poet became a bright possibility when he made the acquaintance of Leigh Hunt, the famous Radical journalist and poet. When Keats was about seventeen years old he became acquainted with Spencer, and this proved to be the turning point in his life. We shall find no deeper, nor any more transparent, phrase for the contents of Keats ideal poetry than his own familiar words: the principle of beauty in all things. This book not only showed people what life was truly like in the eyes of a slave, but it became instrumental in propelling the abolitionist movement and helping it gain motion all across the country. Douglass was truly a revolutionary person because throughout the duration of slavery, African American people were not permitted to be educated. This was considered dangerous. It wasn t until Frederick Douglass was moved to Boston, where slaves were treated more like people instead of cattle, that he learned to read and write. When Frederick was 20 years old he escaped to Massachusetts and began to learn more about the abolitionist movement; this lead to him writing his first book. None of this would have been possible, however, without Douglass learning how to read and write. Education is a major key in lifting people of color out of oppression. The wife of Douglass s master began teaching him to read as he was just a boy at the time and he appealed to her humanity. When Hugh Auld, Douglass s master, found out about what his wife was doing he became livid and forbade her to teach him anymore. Auld said that if she taught him to read he would become ...unmanageable, and of no value to his master. And that it would make Douglass ...discontented and unhappy. • 16. Fossil Fuels And Alternative Methods Of Generating... FOSSIL FUELS AND ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF GENERATING ELECTRICITY What are fossil fuels? Fossil fuels are natural resources created under the Earth s surface from the remains of ancient organisms. These organisms include plants and animals and other organic matter. How are fossil fuels formed? Millions of years ago most of the land on Earth was covered with swamps and forests. As trees and plants died, they would sink to the bottom of the swamps. As more trees and plants died their remains would bury dead plants and organic matter underneath them creating layers of dead plants. As the layers of rotting material build up in the forests and swamps it is compressed by the heavy weight of the plants and water. This weight with high temperatures removes the moisture from the organic decaying matter. This creates peat. Over millions of years peat was covered by sand and clay and other minerals. These sediments changed into rocks called sedimentary rocks. Rock continued to pile up and compress the peat. This caused the water to be squeezed from the peat. Over millions of year this process turned peat into fossil fuels such as natural gas, oil and coal. Three examples of fossil fuels Three examples of fossil fuels include: Coal Oil Natural gas How are these fossil fuels used in Australia? • 19. Analysis Of The Poem The Dead McCrea and Cheng have differing views on the role of identity within Joyce s The Dead. McCrea argues that identity is incomplete because of the limitations of language whereas Cheng argues that the cultural atmosphere shapes identity. I, however, agree with certain aspects of both arguments. Firstly, I believe that McCrea s focus on failed communication is needed to understand the nature of identity within The Dead; however, McCrea incorrectly blames everything on the failure of language, when the individual and society is also partly responsible. Therefore, I believe that Cheng s argument, that the environment partly forms identity, is valid; however, he needlessly restricts the Conroys identities by directly comparing them to Britain and Ireland. I will use Cheng s focus on a culturally formed identity in tandem with McCrea s thematic focus on failed communication within The Dead to answer the question of why Gabriel Conroy s identity fades at the end of The Dead (248). To answer this question, I will consider Gabriel s personal thoughts about himself, others, and how he responds to each challenge he receives to his personhood. First, we must discuss the state of Gabriel s identity before it fades. Before it fades, he is misunderstood. This fact is seen when Gabriel has a conversation with Lily. During this conversation, Gabriel exclaims that I suppose we ll be going to your wedding one of these fine days with your young man (197). Lily responds, with great ... • 23. Benefits Of A Successful Business In order to have a successful business, businesses need to find a way to keep employees motivated to do their jobs and increase work satisfaction. This is undeniably crucial for a business to continue to be profitable. Some solutions to this problem are incentives, having a good work environment, and showing appreciation. When employees perform poorly by not doing their job or not doing their job well, it reflects negatively on the business. Customers who are not satisfied, may complain and may not return. Customers can also discourage others from going to that particular establishment by telling their friends about their terrible experience. The business then loses money from that customer and that customers friends who now do business with the competition. That business may now have a bad reputation that started from that one customer s negative experience (Deeb). By keeping employees pleased and excited at their jobs, they tend to perform better than those employees who are not please at their job. In an article written by John Waggoner, he wrote, If a company treats its employees well, the business should prosper.... So in other words, the business makes money if the employees are pleased. Argumentative Essay On Mexican Migrant Workers The phenomenal growth farming, minding, railroad construction, and commercial fishing all have a story of transnational families and shattered dreams. With the coming of the Mexican Revolution in 1910, many mexicans fled north to the United States in order to escape the bloodshed in search of new lives. Sadly their dream for a better life did not come true. Migrant workers work for low wages in extreme conditions such as extreme heat, discomfort, and danger, as well as struggling to have a stable life for their families. The disastrous great depression left many people unemployed. As a result, a large number of caucasian people took over many migrant workers jobs in California. This left many Mexicans and Filipinos desperate and willing to do anything for money. Child rearing is a standout amongst the most difficult and troublesome obligations an individual can confront. The way a family is organized is known as the child rearing style. Child rearing styles are accumulations of parental state of mind, practices, and non verbal interpretations that portray the way of guardian kid connections. Since people figure out how to parent from a wide range of samples including their own guardians, good examples, society and backgrounds.
