White Supremacism In African Americans
Introduction
Who has the authority to tell anyone they re lesser than a white man? White supremacy is egregious,
and can hurt a whole race. Today the writer is going to write about white supremacy. It was the worst
thing to happen to America, and has consumed a great deal of our history. From Ancient Egypt to
today, 2016, white supremacists have prowled the earth. The height of popularity for this social
phenomenon was during the European colonial expansion, which was in the eighteen hundreds when
many countries started to adopt the idea. Many countries soon after, dropped the idea of slavery, but
then proceeded with racism in various ways. This paper will include discussion of segregation, slavery
and other things like hate groups.

The KKK (Ku Klux Klan) was a very popular subject in the news in the 1930 s through 1960 s. This
group was the most violent: they did bombings, arson, lynchings, and murders. By the time
segregation started, the KKK had grown bigger, and more violent, so they used that to their advantage.
The KKK had a run for their money when the Civil Rights Movement began. The KKK retaliated by
bombing a church, and murdering a child. Many white supremacists that join groups like these, grew
up in hate driven houses and weren t given direction, guidance, or discipline. Some future white
supremacists were born with parents who were already white supremacists and had adopted that

Flower Morphology And Honey Bees
Flower Morphology. Flowers in blueberry are characterized by their bell shaped corollas, with
stamens and anthers inside and a stigma sometimes protruding past the flower aperture (Eck and
Mainland, 1971) (Figure 1). Blueberry flowers have elongated corolla tubes and poricidal anthers,
which tends to make pollination by honey bees difficult (Ritzinger and Lyrene, 1999). Variation in
flower size and morphology between cultivars has been shown to impact insect foraging activity and,
as a result, fruit set (Courcelles et al., 2013). Corolla length and aperture diameter appear to be some
of the most important floral traits for pollen and nectar accessibility to honey bees, which impacts
pollination and fertilization. As shown by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it is well established that fertilization and yields are significantly increased when flowers
are cross pollinated (Ehlenfeldt, 2001; Krebs and Hancock, 1990; Vander Kloet, 1984; Vander Kloet
and Lyrene, 1987; Wood, 1968). Yields are also generally increased through cross pollination with the
aid of insect pollinators (Ehlenfeldt, 2001; Krebs and Hancock, 1990). Generally, fewer tetrads of
outcrossed pollen are required to reach pollen load saturation than with self pollination (Parrie and
Lang, 1992). However, pollen tubes from self pollinated plants grow at the same rate as outcrossed
pollen once germination occurs (Krebs and Hancock, 1988; Vander Kloet and Lyrene, 1987). Only a
fraction of ovules develop into seeds, with over 100 ovules being common to highbush blueberry fruit
and fewer than 50 seeds forming (Pritts et al., 1992). Seed number is positively correlated to fruit size
(until saturation occurs) and seed abortion is dependent on the level of self fertility (Pritts et al., 1992;
Vestrheim et al., 1996).
Pollination in highbush blueberry. In blueberry production, commercially managed honey bees,
specifically the Italian honey bee (Apis mellifera ligustica ; commonly referred to as honey bee ) are
primarily responsible for pollination. Wet and cool spring weather limits honey bee activity and
subsequently can negatively affect pollination and fruit set. The Northeastern region of the United
States, including Michigan, is

Chinese Cinderella Courage Quotes
Though mine is a simple, personal tale of the journey of one unloved little Chinese girl growing up in
Shanghai and Hong Kong, please do not underestimate the power of such stories. In one way or
another, every one of us has been shaped by the stories we have read and absorbed in the past. (Yen
Mah xi) All of Adeline s life she was fighting a never ending war when all she wanted to do was
succeed. In the memoir, Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah, Adeline lives a harsh life of many
ups and downs. In order to succeed in her cruel life, it required Adeline to have courage. She compares
herself to Mulan because she too, was a warrior and fought many battles which took great courage.

All the adults just stood there avoiding eye contact with Niang as she beat her own daughter and it was

John Wilkes Booth s The Lincoln Assassination
The Lincoln Assassination is the most important assassination out of all the four presidents who have
been assassinated. John Wilkes Booth grew up on a farm. His dad, Brutus Booth, was a famous actor
at the time, as was his brother. When John Wilkes Booth grew up, he decided to become an actor
along with his family. Booth was furious when the North beat the South in the Civil War and he
blamed this all on one man: Lincoln. Booth had an original plan to capture Lincoln, but he failed to be
at the spot where they were expecting Lincoln. This leads to the Lincoln Assassination and how it was
planned out and his killers. The first attempt at kidnapping Lincoln was when Booth and his men were
to take him to Richmond and hold him hostage for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lincoln saw this time as a way to reunite the North and the South. Vice President Andrew Johnson
took the job as President, but he was a very horrible president. By then, Congress was getting taken
over by a group called the Radical Republicans who they wanted to punish the South for leaving the
Union. Congress then passed a law called the Reconstruction Act and the people took that act very
hard. That was the start of the Klu Klux Klan and they wanted to kill every black man. Unfortunately
they are still around today but not as powerful as back then. Johnson tried to pass laws, but they were
out voted by the Radical Republicans. Then, the Radical Republicans passed some saying that the
people should punish the South for their actions. Johnson had no power so all those laws went through
and he couldn t do a thing about it. It was then that the Radical Republicans decided to try and
impeach Johnson, but that plan failed, but overall his actions made him a bad president. This paper
was to explain the Lincoln Assassination and how it was planned out and his killers. Booth had an
original plan to capture Lincoln before he assassinated him and the people involved were Samuel
Arnold, Michael O Laughlen, John Surratt, Lewis Powell, George Atzerodt, and David Herold. Booth
shot Lincoln on April 15, 1865 on Good Friday. After Lincoln died, his Vice President Andrew
Johnson became president. The Lincoln assassination is

lower courts because they don t think that the case is important enough for their attention. Federal
courts involve cases that deal with money or in more extensive things like bank robbing, kidnapping,

Currently there are nine members on the Supreme Court, eight are associate justices and one is the

This was not granted by the United States Constitution, but came about later in the early 1800s from a
case that was taken to the Supreme Court. In the case of Marbury vs Madison, Marbury was asking
the Supreme Court to force the Secretary of State, James Madison to recognize his appointment to an

Supreme Court decided that the Judiciary Act was unconstitutional and that they did not have the

Challenging Behaviors in Young Children and Their Functions Anastasia Sims ECE201: Intro to Early
Childhood Behavior Management (ACP1116B) June 22, 2011
Introduction There are many reasons why young children have challenging behaviors. These reasons,
or functions, for behaviors are serving a purpose for that child. It is our job as educators to figure out
what those functions are so they can be prevented or managed, in the case of disruptive or dangerous
behaviors, or reinforced and encouraged, in the case of those positive behaviors we would like to see
flourish. The way to do this is to determine the function of a behavior, implement an individual
behavioral support plan, be consistent with it, and maintain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Peers of course are another group of people that come in contact with a child a good portion of the
time, as well as child care and school. Poverty, and the conditions that surround it, and exposure to
violence in society, are also two very big factors. If you do not have money you can not get proper
nutrition, and without proper nutrition your development is suppressed. In the end though, if children
have the proper support system in place to help them deal with their challenging behavior then all of
those risk factors are less important. In fact researchers have decided we should focus on protective
factors instead. They discovered an ability called resilience and found that it is associated with a series
of protective factors that counter the impact of the risk factors in a child s life. (Kaiser, Sklar
Rasminsky, p.43) You can never know exactly why behaviors exist but you can definitely have a plan
in place to help curb them.
The Behaviors The three behaviors I will be focusing on are ones that I have seen on a daily basis in
my 12 years experience working with young children. They are hitting, eloping, otherwise known as
running away or escaping, and fussing or crying. Hitting is considered challenging because it is an
aggressive act that hurts someone else. Its one thing to hit yourself, but hitting someone else should
not be tolerated. When a

Women Of The Elizabethan Society
Women of the Elizabethan society, such as in Shakespeare s Othello, are particularly not considered as
equal. Women were more often seen as less of people who need to be helped and aided by man. This
ideology was spread by both men and women of that time by them playing into the gender roles of
male and female. Othello gives a relative example of the male and female ideology being accepted and
spread throughout society in the Elizabethan age. With it only being three women in the play,
Desdemona, Emilia and Bianca and then the rest of the members being male species, it is difficult to
not come across gender issues. There are many expectations of women as well as roles that they
acquired back in the Elizabethan society. Firstly, women were treated as objects of possession towards
men. For example, when the duke had decided to give permission for Desdemona to escort Othello to
Cyprus. Othello speaks to Iago, coincidentally relating to him as a man of honesty and trust ,
informing the Duke that To his conveyance I assign my wife (I.3.283). Desdemona, being as Othello s
wife, is treated as his possession and it is implied that she is a like a commodity to be guarded and
transported. Later, the first Senator, send farewell wishes to Othello, concludes by hoping that Othello
will use Desdemona well (I.3.288). The word use seems to suggest that women are indeed looked at as
objects which also supports the Venetian expectation of women. That they are to obey the wills of

Women s Marches Analysis
David Brooks, from the New York Times, asserts that the women s marches will not be effective
because they focus on the wrong issues such as climate change and equal pay (Brooks). These issues
are for the upper middle class and do not center around diversity, but rather prioritize identity politics
which is a tendency for people to form political alliances with those of the same religion, race,
ethnicity, etc. Diversity plays a major role in America and it is important for everyone to embrace it.
Brooks also says that another reason the women s marches will not be a success is because there is too
big a gap between the marches and the Democratic and Republican Parties (Brooks). In order for
something to occur, a political party has to

Albert Camus Suffering
In Albert Camus The Stranger, the novel centers around the life of Meursault, a French Algerian, who
begins the novel attending his mother s funeral. Meursault does not express grief over his mother s
death, and treats the day after the funeral as just another day with no nostalgia for what came before.
As the novel progresses, Meursault continuously shows this lack of emotion and connection to others
in his life, making him a stranger to not only the reader but other characters in the story. When
Meursault befriends a neighbor of his, Raymond, and helps him with his cheating Arab girlfriend, he
unknowingly gets sucked into a conflict that will affect the rest of his life. A victim of circumstance

The Stranger acknowledges a different approach to life and reality, one with certainty and emphasis on
the individual. In Melissa Payne s Discussion of the Absurd in Albert Camus Novels, Essays and
Journals, she describes that Camus desires that man reads this novel and becomes disorientated and
divorced from any reality of which he knows. He must recognize that reality means that life exists and
death is approaching; Camus believes that these are the only truths, and abstractions no longer exist
(Payne 15). In the novel, Meursault knows that his death is approaching in the form of his execution
for the murder of the Arab. His crisis arises while questioning his past actions, an exercise out of
character with his belief that life is only about present choices and the dawn of the next day. Meursault
does not seek to absolve himself by turning to God or asking for forgiveness, but instead, accepts the
life he has chosen, freed by the certainty that death was inevitable one way or

The Health Care Delivery System
The health care delivery system can be overwhelming, but compare it to another country, this can
make it more confusing. Let s look further into Americas health care delivery system and let take a
look into the health care delivery system of Canada. I have always found Canada fascinating. I hope to
understand how they run their health care and maybe what can we do to our health care to improve it?
Canada s health care system, is a group of socialized health insurance plans that provides coverage to
Canadian citizens. It also publicly funds and administers on a provincial or territorial basis, with
guidelines set by the federal government. Canada implemented their health insurance, also known as
Medicare, in 1966. Medicare is made up of 13 health insurance plans. The majority of the financing
comes from the general tax revenues and the federal government provides a fixed amount that is not a
part of the actual expenditure. The total health care expenditure is made up of 70% health in the public
sector. Territorial and provincial departments of health have the responsibility to give medical
insurance plans, decide if there should be reimbursement for providers, and deliver certain public
health services. By law, all provinces are required to provide access to all medical services and to
provide an easy way to access benefits in each providence. All Canadian providences, expect Ontario,
have resorted to regionalization. This is done by creating administrative districts in

Legalism And Confucianism
Confucianism, together with Mohism and Legalism, is three out of the four main philosophical
teachings in ancient China. Chinese philosophers such as Confucius, Mo Tzu, and Han Fei Tzu had
their own views on life. The teachings of Mo Zi both resembled and greatly differed from that of
Confucius; as for Han Feizi he took a totally different approach. The three books written by each
philosopher, the Analects, the Mozi and the Han Feizi each discuss how power should be manifested
in a society which affects the people and the state. Although each of the three figures are concerned
with power, Confucius believes the manifestation of power is being moral and following the tradition,
Mo Tzu believes promoting power solely on the strength of abilities ... Show more content on

According to Mo Tzu, the concept of universality is a way to prevent a power imbalance. He urged
that all people follow Heaven in this by practicing universal love. Mo Tzu believed that all were equal
before the lord of the heavens. Mo Tzu saw Heaven and associated that with God. God being someone
who loves all people no matter their class or ethnicity. Also, he believed if God loves everyone
equally, people should strive to love one another in the same manner. He believed that the powers of
heaven acted on the world and exercised a love for all humankind. It is stated, The principle of
universality is the way of the sage kings, the means of bringing safety to the rulers and officials and of
assuring ample food and clothing to the people... It is the way of the sage kings and great benefit to the
people. (The Mozi, 49) His standard of action is strictly based on utility; love for all human beings is
demonstrated by satisfying their immediate material needs and by abandoning all forms of activity and
expense that do not contribute to the feeding, clothing and housing of the people. He spoke of the
value of the labor of common folks, and he advocated promoting people to positions of power solely
on the strength of their abilities and virtues. It is taught that it is necessary to recognize that to balance
power is that people should not prioritize partially, but universally. With his Universal Love
philosophy, he specified that a government would have no need to attack or have a war with another
state. By not having war between each other there would be peace, and it would stimulate the
economy by saving money. This would benefit everyone especially commoners because it will
eliminate their suffering, but also just all people in general because all people should be equal. The

Leopold In Cold Blood Analysis
Starting from the European colonization period, Congo has constantly been plagued with foreign
interference, namely by external countries and multinational corporations looking to gain wealth. They
have demolished the magnificent African cake systematically throughout the years, starting primarily
from Leopold s Congo Free state, which he ruled single handedly, to the modern day Democratic
Republic of Congo. Leopold began his regime by holding conferences regarding Africa, and formed
organizations that he claimed would aid Africa. Not only did Leopold abuse the abundance of natural
resources out of greed, he also destroyed the economy, political system, and the people for generations
to come. Leopold s framework of a Congo whose resources ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Leopold began by extracting ivory, and later began extracting the highly valued rubber. He then began
looking into the mines of the Congo, which held an abundance of highly valued minerals to gain more
wealth. To make the transportation of the extractive resources more efficient, Leopold had a railway
built, using additional forced labor on the part of the Congolese. Along with the repressive Force
Publique, Leopold also sent a group Christian missionaries to ensure that the Congolese were meeting
Europe s expectations of him introducing the Congolese to Christianity. Meanwhile, all of Europe and
America was fully convinced that he was truly helping the Congo developmentally. It wasn t until an
open letter sent by an American named George Washington Williams were his true, or lack of, actions
revealed though the letter did not directly end Leopold s reign over the Congo Free State. His actions
were so severe that American author Mark Twain would write a satirical pamphlet condemning
Leopold s actions, portraying him as a delusional man trying to convince others that he did improve
the Congo s way of life. After two decades of exploitation, which the modern day Democratic

DNA Chip Genetic Testing of the Future
Many, if not most diseases, have their roots in our genes. Genes, through the proteins they encode,
determine how efficiently we process foods, how effectively we detoxify poisons, and how vigorously
we respond to infections. In the past 20 years, amazing new techniques have allowed scientists to
learn a great deal about how genes work and how they are linked to disease. This rapid pace of
discovery of genetic factors, responsible for certain diseases, has allowed scientists to genetically test
asymptomatic individuals and predict their risk of certain diseases. In this paper, I am going to discuss
the following areas pertaining to the topic of genetic testing:
The definition and purpose of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The information from genetic tests can help provide people and families with answers to their
questions: why did this happen to my child or why do I have to suffer from this disease? Genetic tests
also provide scientists with information regarding disease pathogenesis. For instance, by studying the
genetic makeup of individuals with breast cancer, scientists can find out what particular mutation in
the DNA, or in several genes, is causing the cancer and use that to screen high risk individuals.
Researchers are also taking advantage of genetic tests to find gene mutations that make bacteria or
viruses resistant to drugs.
Screening Techniques
The immediate challenge in genetic testing is being able to design an effective mutation analysis
method that offers a rapid, accurate, cost effective, and user friendly test for scanning several
susceptibility genes at once. According to the article in Nature Biotechnology, by Charis Eng and Jan
Viig, genetic testing techniques are grouped into two main categories: screening and scanning.
Screening methods involve probing specific genes for previously identified mutations. These methods,
however, are unrealistic for such diseases which are characterized by a large number of disease
causing mutations that can be virtually anywhere in the gene s coding region or regulatory region (3).
For example, in breast cancer, mutations can be found anywhere within the large

Similarities Between The Weary Blues And Lepanto

been used across different contexts, particularly in historical settings. At one point, compositions such
as poems were written in an effort to document certain dimensions that prevailed during specific times

element was developed. Following this fact, the respective discourse will concentrate on two
particular poems. These comprise The Weary Blues by Langston Hughes and Lepanto by G. K.

invention of a new kind of medium; the motion picture.[1] Since then, comparisons between a film
and the novel it was based upon have become mainstay. Amazingly, ardent fans of a particular novel
can become polarized when the material is changed in any fashion or perceived in a different sense
than the reader imagined. Thus, Book to Film Adaptation Analysis are commonplace in today s society
and ripe with the energetic opinions of the consumer. Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone was a
novel written by J.K. Rowling and published by Bloomsbury in 1997.[2] It is the first book in a series
and proved immensely successful having won most of the British book awards that were judged by
children and other awards in the United States.[3] It quickly topped the New York Times best seller
list and stayed near the top for nearly two years![4] By mid 2008 official translations of the book were
published in 67 languages. Hollywood, looking for fresh material, took notice and by the end of 1999,
Rowling had sold the film rights to the first four Harry Potter books to Warner Brothers.[5] Harry
Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone released to audiences on November 16th, 2001 to great success. Like
its predecessor, it received high praise by critics.[6][7] Roger Ebert, well known for his insightful film
reviews, gave it four out of four stars calling it a classic, and particularly praised

Should Sports Be Co-Ed
Sports should not be co ed, due to the differences in the capability levels of athleticism between
females and males. Sports are based off of age and skill, but the female and male genders each have
major differences in athleticism. Sports such as football include factors such as size, strength and
quickness. The male and female bodies are developed differently creating an unfair advantage to the
men. Men are born stronger than women due to their production of testosterone which helps build
muscle. Women do produce testosterone, but very little of it making the men naturally stronger. Men
just happen to have denser and stronger bones and ligaments than women, causing a higher risk of
injury. It is much harder if men and women play on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, according to Cassandra Meuret, author of Co ed Sports is Something That Should Not
Be Considered states Imagine football being mixed with both men and women. A 250 pound
linebacker charging at a 150 pound woman doesn t exactly seem like the safest scenario. (Meuret 1).
Another example is strength. Stated in the article Should sports be co ed? strength is another big
factor. The world s strongest woman, who bench pressed 531 lbs, does not compare to the world s
strongest man, who bench pressed 1,008 lbs. (S 1). We should not integrate men and women into the
same team because with this difference in strength being as drastic as it is, that is not fair to the male
or the female in the situation. Say the sport that is co ed is football, someone who can press almost
double as another person, is to tackle the smaller one, that could lead to a harmful injury. Strength and
muscle capacity may be important to the difference in men and women, but height is another fatal
factor. The article Should sports be co ed provides another example of NBA basketball player at 6 6.98
(2007 08 Player Survey: Height), which is well above the average height of a WNBA basketball
player at 5 11.84 (2002 03 WNBA Player Survey Averages), the women would be at a disadvantage. (
S 2) With almost a foot difference, the male could reach the net a lot easier than the woman could.
With this height difference, this causes the male to have naturally longer legs, with a longer stride. The
world record holder for the men s 400m dash time is 43.18 seconds, which is 4.42 seconds faster than
the world record holder for the women s world record at 47.60 seconds (400 Metres). (S 3). Say the
world s fastest man, and the world s fastest women competed in a race. The male would win because
of the difference in leg strength and

Space Landing Pros And Cons
That s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind, Neil Armstrong said on July 20th, 1969.
Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon and he was accompanied by Buzz Aldrin. Apollo 11
launched on July 16th, 1969 and landed on the moon on July 20th, 1969. The objective of the space
landing was a national goal set by John F. Kennedy. Armstrong and Aldrin spent 21 hours on the moon
with seven hours of sleep. But is this all true, or is it all a lie?
Body of Research:
On July 20th, 1969 Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the moon. Or did they? Actually, yes,
NASA did, but that hasn t stopped conspiracy theories from surfacing. Conspiracy theorists have made
people believe that humans never set foot on the lunar surface, and that the entire effort was massively
staged. In many of pictures of the landing, the American flag that Neil Armstrong put up has ripples.
But how is this possible, once you put it on surface there is no wind? Well scientists have said that the
flag s edges are pulled taut. They said when you do this effect, which was done purposely, you put a
stiff wire into the fabric. They did this because instead of letting the flag hang flat, the wire creates
ripples.
Another conspiracy is that they re multiple shadows in the moon photos prove there was more than
one source of light. Again scientist debunked this theory too. When taking the pictures the astronauts
were on a hilly, brightly lit landscape while the sun was close to the

There are five basic types of martial arts. The five basic types are Dragon, Snake, Crane, Tiger, and
Leopard. Bodidharma, a monk from India, came up with the five styles of fighting. Shaolin monks
adopted these fighting styles to defend themselves from thieves. More than 1,000 years later we now
have the many different types of martial arts. The Leopard is one of the five basic fighting styles. The
Leopard is strong against the Dragon fighting style. It is weak against the Snake fighting style. The
leopard is an offensive animal, so it is based off an offensive attacking style. The Leopard uses fast

The Tiger uses simple and direct approaches. It is of simple and direct strategies and tactics. There is
no need for complex stepping, diverse techniques, involved tactics, and no need for blocking. The
Tiger style relies on the user s size, attitude, strength, power and purpose. Its techniques are powerful.
Tiger style attacks directly at the most vulnerable and direct point of the opponent which is the throat.
If the throat is covered then the objective is to remove, and the Tiger goes for the throat. With its size
and strength a tiger cannot afford long fights as it will make them vulnerable to lesser attackers. The
Tiger operates with overwhelming power, determination, and fearlessness. It is best for the muscular,
strong, and large martial artist. The Tiger Stylist is an aggressive, offensive, and sometime harsh
fighter with the little grace, avoiding pinpoint strikes for large, sweeping movements that act as both
blocks and attacks in the one motion. The Tiger is a personality that prefers action rather than words.
They are leaders and prefer the front while others are still thinking about the origin of the problem,
Tiger stylists are already ready when others are still researching, thinking or consulting on the matter
at hand. The nature of Tiger is also not to know when to give up. There are no opponents, only
obstacles, no impossibilities, just other people s incompetence, nothing that cannot be done,

Biographical Summary On Frankenstein
Biographical Summary Author Mary Shelley was born August 30th, 1797 to philosopher and writer
William Godwin and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft. Mary s mother passed away early in Shelley s life
and wasn t a prominent figure. Her father remarried another woman named Mary Jane Clairmont.
Shelley and her stepmother rarely got along so a female role model was not something Shelley
received in her early years. Clairmont refused to send Shelley to be educated at a school but has no
hesitation when sending her own daughter. Even without a formal education Shelley would still
attempt to seek knowledge through books and would often daydream to escape the everyday struggles
of her life at home. She also took up writing as an activity in which to ... Show more content on

Critical analysis
The novel Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, was a piece written in 1817 during a time when women
weren t considered to be adequate authors. Shelley s work is both intriguing as it is thought provoking.
She brings to light the true nature of society and life altogether when tested. She factors in how the
outside world can influence our choices in writing. George Levine from The Ambiguous Heritage of
Frankenstein and Benjamin Truitt from Frankenstein Critical Analysis and Literary Criticism both
share their opinions about Shelley s piece of written work. Frankenstein is a story full of questions and
excitement. What is interesting about Shelley s novel is the absence of God and multiple female
characters. She ignores the proper way of conception and birth. Due to this, the science of what Victor
accomplished had gone awry. His goal while creating the monster was a perfect race in which they
would help mankind, even though the dream of the new race is...exploded in the end (Levine 12).

Religious Experiences are in the Mind of the Believer Essays
Religious Experiences are in the Mind of the Believer
A religious experience is a spontaneous or induced mental event over which the
recipient has relatively little control. It is often accompanied with the gaining of
certain knowledge and the experience is always unique. [1] Elton Trueblood s
definition of a religious experience is very broad, including any experience of feelings
of love, power, glory or strength from God. This differs from a simple experience
which can be defined as an event or series of events participated in or lived through,
especially one that makes a powerful impression on the mind and sense. [2]
It is obvious that religious experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When people try to describe an experience
of God they tend to make comparisons which raises problems philosophically, and
many argue that the analogies have weaknesses.
The definitions of mystical experience used by researchers and clinicians vary
considerably, ranging from Neumann s (1964) upheaval of the total personality to
Greesley s (1974) spiritual force that seems to lift you out of yourself to
Scharfstein s (1973) everyday mysticism. William James created four
characteristics which he believed will enable people to identify mystical experiences,
a term that is used in a vast variety of contexts. These include ineffability, noetic
quality, transciency and passivity. From James four characteristics, mystical
experiences are concerned with noetic quality and transciency. Noetic quality refers
to knowledge that is gained through intuition and perception however not in the
conventional manner, whilst transciency refers to the duration of the experience; it
appears that most religious experiences last between a few minutes and two hours.
However the effect and the significance are out of proportion to its physical duration.

Essay On Atonement
Adapted from Ian McEwan s novel Atonement. In 1935, thirteen year old Briony Tallis (Saoirise
Ronan) changes the lives of her sister Cecilia (Keira Knightley) and lover Robbie Tuner (James
McAvoy). She accuses Robbie of a crime he didn t commit, which has damaging consequences and
guilt which affects Briony s entire life.
Cinematography is implemented in a variety of different ways to convey Briony s character. Even
before the introduction of Briony, an overview of her bedroom and of the dollhouse, filled with model
figures carefully arranged, reveals much about her personality. This is the first evidence regarding the
creative yet manipulative personality of Briony. She has arranged her toys to replicate Noah s Ark,

In the beginning of the film, 13 year old Briony witnesses the sexual tension between her sister and
Robbie; however, she does not completely comprehend what she is seeing. As a result, this leads to the
arrest of Robbie, as Briony believes that what she saw was he assaulting both her sister and cousin
Lola. This incident leads to the concept of perception in which lighting is utilised in a clever way to
illustrate this. When Briony encounters Cecilia and Robbie in the library, the light shone on half her
face contrasts against the face shadowed on the other half. This is symbolic to her perception of the
situation, as she is only observing a portion of what has happened. As Briony is only aware of half of
the complete situation, this causes her to misjudge the event. Similarly, when she discovers Lola being
assaulted, light is utilised through her torch when she discovers Lola, the torch blinds her
momentarily, throwing her into the light and then darkness. This causes Briony to fade, emphasising
the idea of how one s sight can affect your perceptions. These events are critical, as Briony s incorrect
perception of occasions is the catalyst for the whole film and the consequences that are to come.
Additionally, light is used when Briony goes to Paul Marshall the man who assaulted Lola and Lola s
wedding. Briony gazes upwards as light falls upon her from above, implying a sudden comprehension
of her understanding of who assaulted Lola. Here, light depicts the understanding of the truth.
Throughout the film, light is used to illustrate various ideas, and it tells its own particular story
underneath the action of the main

Generations And The Gaps In-Between
Generation s and The Gaps In Between In our present day lives many might not think about different

many different generations live their lives day to day like everyone else. The world in a sense* is a
generational salad bowl, mixed with people of all generations living together. Many might never
notice they are living in a generational salad bowl, that is until they talk to someone who was born in a

Credit Bureau Research Paper
Understanding the Credit Bureaus
In order to fully understand credit and the reporting process, we must first understand who the credit
bureaus are. Hopefully we can help you with this article to understand the history of The Big 3 : the
most commonly used credit bureaus or consumer reporting agencies and their role in the credit
reporting process.
A credit bureau is essentially an aggregator of information on consumers. Each and every time you fill
out a credit application, miss or make a payment, and obtain a mortgage or a car loan or just about
anything that has to do with the extension of credit (some one else s money), the credit bureaus are
involved and more than likely aggregating or collecting that information.
The credit bureaus have made a very profitable business out of helping lenders like banks, mortgage
banks, credit card companies and auto loan lenders assess credit worthiness or in laymen s terms a
consumers ability to pay back a loan. The credit scoring model is a risk assessment in the form of a
score. This assessment or credit score is one of the leading decision makers of interest rates and other
terms of a loan. Consumers with poor or low credit scores will pay a higher annual interest rate than
consumers with high credit scores. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cravendale Milk Essay
The Cravendale advert was created by Wieden and Kennedy commissioned by Belgian animators Pic
Pic and Andre to create this interesting series of stop motion ads for Arla, which are the makers of
Cravendale filtered milk. The series shows how these characters explore different places and have a
variety of different events to get their hands on Cravendale milk. The adverts were an instant hit and

technique of animating toy figures that the older generation might recognise brings people a sense of
nostalgia as well as a charm. Seeing these old figurines that people will remember from their
childhood come alive in such a manner brings distinctive humour to the advert which the family can

other figures are doing actions that kids would do. For example at the start you see the main character

Over the years there has been a significant decrease in the percentage of African American male

American males will result in increased crime rate, shortened life span and overall hard life. However
this epidemic can be stopped by looking at the contributing factors of why there is a decrease in

prepared? Under preparedness
Students attend school starting at pre school then kindergarten, kindergarten to first grade and leading
up to middle school then high school, the classes and teachers are supposed to prepare them for the
next level. With the correct preparation and tools, after graduating high school, many students have
their mind set on attending college as the next level. However many African American male students
who do have the ability to graduate high school, are not prepared for their next level which is college.
Due to the quality of these schools the school districts in urban neighborhoods have fewer academic
offerings, less qualified teachers, out of date materials and lower quality curriculum (WOOD, J.
(2011), results in the poor education of the minority students attending them. Also due to the different
academic and environment backgrounds that white and black students come from, many teachers are
unaware of how to teach black students and how to gain their attention in the classroom. Other than

Extraction Techniques For Rough Medications
Extraction, as the term is utilized pharmaceutically, includes the partition of restoratively dynamic
segments of plant or creature tissues from the idle or latent parts by utilizing particular solvents as a
part of standard extraction strategies. The items so acquired from plants are generally polluted fluids,
semisolids or powders expected just for oral or outside use. These incorporate classes of arrangements
known as decoctions, implantations, liquid removes, tinctures, pilular (semisolid) separates and
powdered concentrates. Such arrangements famously have been called galenicals, named after Galen,
the second century Greek doctor. The motivations behind institutionalized extraction techniques for
rough medications are to achieve the restoratively sought divide and to wipe out the dormant material
by treatment with a specific dissolvable known as menstrum. The concentrate along these lines got
might be prepared for use as a restorative specialists in the type of tinctures and liquid concentrates, it
might be further prepared to be fused in any dose frame, for example, tablets or cases, or it might be
fractionated to seclude singular concoction substances, for example, ajmalicine, hyoscine also,
vincristine, which are modem drugs. In this way, institutionalization of extraction strategies
contributes fundamentally to the last nature of the home grown medication. The concoction properties
of the analyte are critical to an extraction, just like the properties of the fluid

Differences Between Men And Women
Introduction
Communication style, as defined by the textbook, is the behaviors that are observable by others
(Reece, 2014). Men and women have general differences in communication style, whether in a formal
or informal setting. Linguistic style, as defined by Deborah Tannen, refers to a person s characteristic
speaking pattern. Men tend to be more direct and dominating, whereas, women exhibit a more
practical and indirect approach. Although these conclusions are generalizations, research has proven
that they are typical of the ordinary man and woman (Tannen, 1995).

The male directive approach may work well when dealing with other men, from both a manager and
an employee s perspective, however, taking that approach when dealing with a female counterpart will
hinder them. The same goes for women, as mentioned in the example above. Their caring approach
will work well with other sensitive women, however, there will be miscommunication when applied to
an issue with a male counterpart.
Conflict
Women seek compromise when conflicts arise, but they sometimes fail to stand their ground. They
succumb to the dominating demeanor of men, who use their natural mannerism to their advantage.
This is an example of a hindrance to women, but an advantage to men. Men know that women work to
maintain a peaceful work environment and if backing down in a disagreement is what it takes, its
often the road taken (Warren, 2017).
Strengths
Women tend to have the upper hand in situations where listening skills, inclusive body language and
empathy are more highly valued . They display signs of genuine interest when others are speaking by
nodding their heads, leaning in, and smiling because they expect reciprocated behavior (Goman,
2016). Women have the need to feel valued and appreciated for their efforts. They seek approval from
their colleagues and managers. This is because women exhibit characteristics of a people oriented
style. On the contrary, men are thought to take charge more readily and be viewed as more effective

  • 2. White Supremacism In African Americans Introduction Who has the authority to tell anyone they re lesser than a white man? White supremacy is egregious, and can hurt a whole race. Today the writer is going to write about white supremacy. It was the worst thing to happen to America, and has consumed a great deal of our history. From Ancient Egypt to today, 2016, white supremacists have prowled the earth. The height of popularity for this social phenomenon was during the European colonial expansion, which was in the eighteen hundreds when many countries started to adopt the idea. Many countries soon after, dropped the idea of slavery, but then proceeded with racism in various ways. This paper will include discussion of segregation, slavery and other things like hate groups. Slavery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The KKK (Ku Klux Klan) was a very popular subject in the news in the 1930 s through 1960 s. This group was the most violent: they did bombings, arson, lynchings, and murders. By the time segregation started, the KKK had grown bigger, and more violent, so they used that to their advantage. The KKK had a run for their money when the Civil Rights Movement began. The KKK retaliated by bombing a church, and murdering a child. Many white supremacists that join groups like these, grew up in hate driven houses and weren t given direction, guidance, or discipline. Some future white supremacists were born with parents who were already white supremacists and had adopted that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Flower Morphology And Honey Bees Flower Morphology. Flowers in blueberry are characterized by their bell shaped corollas, with stamens and anthers inside and a stigma sometimes protruding past the flower aperture (Eck and Mainland, 1971) (Figure 1). Blueberry flowers have elongated corolla tubes and poricidal anthers, which tends to make pollination by honey bees difficult (Ritzinger and Lyrene, 1999). Variation in flower size and morphology between cultivars has been shown to impact insect foraging activity and, as a result, fruit set (Courcelles et al., 2013). Corolla length and aperture diameter appear to be some of the most important floral traits for pollen and nectar accessibility to honey bees, which impacts pollination and fertilization. As shown by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it is well established that fertilization and yields are significantly increased when flowers are cross pollinated (Ehlenfeldt, 2001; Krebs and Hancock, 1990; Vander Kloet, 1984; Vander Kloet and Lyrene, 1987; Wood, 1968). Yields are also generally increased through cross pollination with the aid of insect pollinators (Ehlenfeldt, 2001; Krebs and Hancock, 1990). Generally, fewer tetrads of outcrossed pollen are required to reach pollen load saturation than with self pollination (Parrie and Lang, 1992). However, pollen tubes from self pollinated plants grow at the same rate as outcrossed pollen once germination occurs (Krebs and Hancock, 1988; Vander Kloet and Lyrene, 1987). Only a fraction of ovules develop into seeds, with over 100 ovules being common to highbush blueberry fruit and fewer than 50 seeds forming (Pritts et al., 1992). Seed number is positively correlated to fruit size (until saturation occurs) and seed abortion is dependent on the level of self fertility (Pritts et al., 1992; Vestrheim et al., 1996). Pollination in highbush blueberry. In blueberry production, commercially managed honey bees, specifically the Italian honey bee (Apis mellifera ligustica ; commonly referred to as honey bee ) are primarily responsible for pollination. Wet and cool spring weather limits honey bee activity and subsequently can negatively affect pollination and fruit set. The Northeastern region of the United States, including Michigan, is ... • 4. Chinese Cinderella Courage Quotes Though mine is a simple, personal tale of the journey of one unloved little Chinese girl growing up in Shanghai and Hong Kong, please do not underestimate the power of such stories. In one way or another, every one of us has been shaped by the stories we have read and absorbed in the past. (Yen Mah xi) All of Adeline s life she was fighting a never ending war when all she wanted to do was succeed. In the memoir, Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah, Adeline lives a harsh life of many ups and downs. In order to succeed in her cruel life, it required Adeline to have courage. She compares herself to Mulan because she too, was a warrior and fought many battles which took great courage. Adeline is very much like Mulan, the Chinese female warrior. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I knew I should remain silent but words choked me and I felt compelled to spit them out (Yen Mah 34). Adeline was extremely brave stand up to Niang for Little Sister and if Little Sister would have been aware of what Adeline had just done for her, she probably would ve been a lot nicer to Adeline. All the adults just stood there avoiding eye contact with Niang as she beat her own daughter and it was Adeline, who was in first grade at the time, that stuck up for her. It was defeat. Ye Ye had given up (Yen Mah 149). Niang was a very frightful person. She brought terror to the entire family and even Ye Ye, who used to be head of the family, but was overthrown by Niang, did not question her. Ye Ye s defeat was very sad to Adeline because he meant so much turn and in return, she used her courage and bravery to stick up for Ye Ye and to never be disloyal no matter what the consequences were. • 5. John Wilkes Booth s The Lincoln Assassination The Lincoln Assassination is the most important assassination out of all the four presidents who have been assassinated. John Wilkes Booth grew up on a farm. His dad, Brutus Booth, was a famous actor at the time, as was his brother. When John Wilkes Booth grew up, he decided to become an actor along with his family. Booth was furious when the North beat the South in the Civil War and he blamed this all on one man: Lincoln. Booth had an original plan to capture Lincoln, but he failed to be at the spot where they were expecting Lincoln. This leads to the Lincoln Assassination and how it was planned out and his killers. The first attempt at kidnapping Lincoln was when Booth and his men were to take him to Richmond and hold him hostage for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lincoln saw this time as a way to reunite the North and the South. Vice President Andrew Johnson took the job as President, but he was a very horrible president. By then, Congress was getting taken over by a group called the Radical Republicans who they wanted to punish the South for leaving the Union. Congress then passed a law called the Reconstruction Act and the people took that act very hard. That was the start of the Klu Klux Klan and they wanted to kill every black man. Unfortunately they are still around today but not as powerful as back then. Johnson tried to pass laws, but they were out voted by the Radical Republicans. Then, the Radical Republicans passed some saying that the people should punish the South for their actions. Johnson had no power so all those laws went through and he couldn t do a thing about it. It was then that the Radical Republicans decided to try and impeach Johnson, but that plan failed, but overall his actions made him a bad president. This paper was to explain the Lincoln Assassination and how it was planned out and his killers. Booth had an original plan to capture Lincoln before he assassinated him and the people involved were Samuel Arnold, Michael O Laughlen, John Surratt, Lewis Powell, George Atzerodt, and David Herold. Booth shot Lincoln on April 15, 1865 on Good Friday. After Lincoln died, his Vice President Andrew Johnson became president. The Lincoln assassination is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes the Supreme Court returns cases back to lower courts because they don t think that the case is important enough for their attention. Federal courts involve cases that deal with money or in more extensive things like bank robbing, kidnapping, fraud, treason or etc. Sate courts are arranged depending on the legislature of each state. Currently there are nine members on the Supreme Court, eight are associate justices and one is the chief justice. A justice on the Supreme Court is appointed for life. They do not serve terms like congressman, instead serving for life. A justice can be removed from the Supreme Court by impeachment for corruption and after a trial; however, a justice has never ... In the case of Marbury vs Madison, Marbury was asking the Supreme Court to force the Secretary of State, James Madison to recognize his appointment to an office. The Judiciary Act said the Supreme Court had the authority to make a decision. However, the Supreme Court decided that the Judiciary Act was unconstitutional and that they did not have the decision making power in this case. Since then, Judicial Review has been used by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court checks the other branches of government by determining if a law is in agreement with the United States Constitution. The three branches of government were created to keep the rules in check and everything in balance. The three branches of government check each other periodically to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing and following the rules. Challenging Behaviors in Young Children and Their Functions Anastasia Sims ECE201: Intro to Early Childhood Behavior Management (ACP1116B) June 22, 2011 Introduction There are many reasons why young children have challenging behaviors. These reasons, or functions, for behaviors are serving a purpose for that child. It is our job as educators to figure out what those functions are so they can be prevented or managed, in the case of disruptive or dangerous behaviors, or reinforced and encouraged, in the case of those positive behaviors we would like to see flourish. The way to do this is to determine the function of a behavior, implement an individual behavioral support plan, be consistent with it, and maintain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Peers of course are another group of people that come in contact with a child a good portion of the time, as well as child care and school. Poverty, and the conditions that surround it, and exposure to violence in society, are also two very big factors. If you do not have money you can not get proper nutrition, and without proper nutrition your development is suppressed. In the end though, if children have the proper support system in place to help them deal with their challenging behavior then all of those risk factors are less important. In fact researchers have decided we should focus on protective factors instead. They discovered an ability called resilience and found that it is associated with a series of protective factors that counter the impact of the risk factors in a child s life. (Kaiser, Sklar Rasminsky, p.43) You can never know exactly why behaviors exist but you can definitely have a plan in place to help curb them. The Behaviors The three behaviors I will be focusing on are ones that I have seen on a daily basis in my 12 years experience working with young children. They are hitting, eloping, otherwise known as running away or escaping, and fussing or crying. Hitting is considered challenging because it is an aggressive act that hurts someone else. Its one thing to hit yourself, but hitting someone else should not be tolerated. When a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Women Of The Elizabethan Society Women of the Elizabethan society, such as in Shakespeare s Othello, are particularly not considered as equal. Women were more often seen as less of people who need to be helped and aided by man. This ideology was spread by both men and women of that time by them playing into the gender roles of male and female. Othello gives a relative example of the male and female ideology being accepted and spread throughout society in the Elizabethan age. With it only being three women in the play, Desdemona, Emilia and Bianca and then the rest of the members being male species, it is difficult to not come across gender issues. There are many expectations of women as well as roles that they acquired back in the Elizabethan society. Firstly, women were treated as objects of possession towards men. For example, when the duke had decided to give permission for Desdemona to escort Othello to Cyprus. Othello speaks to Iago, coincidentally relating to him as a man of honesty and trust , informing the Duke that To his conveyance I assign my wife (I.3.283). Desdemona, being as Othello s wife, is treated as his possession and it is implied that she is a like a commodity to be guarded and transported. Later, the first Senator, send farewell wishes to Othello, concludes by hoping that Othello will use Desdemona well (I.3.288). The word use seems to suggest that women are indeed looked at as objects which also supports the Venetian expectation of women. That they are to obey the wills of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The girl barely seems to notice that my eyes haven t strayed away from hers since I noticed her different colored eyes, but instead she starts to act like she might break down and cry because of how overwhelming everything must be. I get up and leave quietly and swiftly without even introducing myself to her. That same day as I was helping out the kitchen when I heard an attendant say that Rose wasn t feeling well again. Here we go again I say to the chef beside me. This is a recurring problem everyday. Rose feels sick, and we drown her in medicine to make sure she lives another day. Just as I m headed to rose s room I run into Rhine outside of her room. She s not supposed to be out so I quickly tell her to run back into her room before she gets caught. Religious Experiences are in the Mind of the Believer Essays Religious Experiences are in the Mind of the Believer A religious experience is a spontaneous or induced mental event over which the recipient has relatively little control. It is often accompanied with the gaining of certain knowledge and the experience is always unique. [1] Elton Trueblood s definition of a religious experience is very broad, including any experience of feelings of love, power, glory or strength from God. This differs from a simple experience which can be defined as an event or series of events participated in or lived through, especially one that makes a powerful impression on the mind and sense. When people try to describe an experience of God they tend to make comparisons which raises problems philosophically, and many argue that the analogies have weaknesses. The definitions of mystical experience used by researchers and clinicians vary considerably, ranging from Neumann s (1964) upheaval of the total personality to Greesley s (1974) spiritual force that seems to lift you out of yourself to Scharfstein s (1973) everyday mysticism. William James created four characteristics which he believed will enable people to identify mystical experiences, a term that is used in a vast variety of contexts. These include ineffability, noetic quality, transciency and passivity. From James four characteristics, mystical experiences are concerned with noetic quality and transciency. Noetic quality refers

  • 29. Essay On Atonement Adapted from Ian McEwan s novel Atonement. In 1935, thirteen year old Briony Tallis (Saoirise Ronan) changes the lives of her sister Cecilia (Keira Knightley) and lover Robbie Tuner (James McAvoy). She accuses Robbie of a crime he didn t commit, which has damaging consequences and guilt which affects Briony s entire life. Cinematography is implemented in a variety of different ways to convey Briony s character. Even before the introduction of Briony, an overview of her bedroom and of the dollhouse, filled with model figures carefully arranged, reveals much about her personality. This is the first evidence regarding the creative yet manipulative personality of Briony. She has arranged her toys to replicate Noah s Ark, demonstrating the side ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the beginning of the film, 13 year old Briony witnesses the sexual tension between her sister and Robbie; however, she does not completely comprehend what she is seeing. As a result, this leads to the arrest of Robbie, as Briony believes that what she saw was he assaulting both her sister and cousin Lola. This incident leads to the concept of perception in which lighting is utilised in a clever way to illustrate this. When Briony encounters Cecilia and Robbie in the library, the light shone on half her face contrasts against the face shadowed on the other half. This is symbolic to her perception of the situation, as she is only observing a portion of what has happened. As Briony is only aware of half of the complete situation, this causes her to misjudge the event. Similarly, when she discovers Lola being assaulted, light is utilised through her torch when she discovers Lola, the torch blinds her momentarily, throwing her into the light and then darkness. This causes Briony to fade, emphasising the idea of how one s sight can affect your perceptions. These events are critical, as Briony s incorrect perception of occasions is the catalyst for the whole film and the consequences that are to come. Additionally, light is used when Briony goes to Paul Marshall the man who assaulted Lola and Lola s wedding. Briony gazes upwards as light falls upon her from above, implying a sudden comprehension of her understanding of who assaulted Lola. Here, light depicts the understanding of the truth. Throughout the film, light is used to illustrate various ideas, and it tells its own particular story underneath the action of the main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the correct preparation and tools, after graduating high school, many students have their mind set on attending college as the next level. However many African American male students who do have the ability to graduate high school, are not prepared for their next level which is college. Due to the quality of these schools the school districts in urban neighborhoods have fewer academic offerings, less qualified teachers, out of date materials and lower quality curriculum (WOOD, J. Men and women have general differences in communication style, whether in a formal or informal setting. Linguistic style, as defined by Deborah Tannen, refers to a person s characteristic speaking pattern. Men tend to be more direct and dominating, whereas, women exhibit a more practical and indirect approach. Although these conclusions are generalizations, research has proven that they are typical of the ordinary man and woman (Tannen, 1995). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The male directive approach may work well when dealing with other men, from both a manager and an employee s perspective, however, taking that approach when dealing with a female counterpart will hinder them. The same goes for women, as mentioned in the example above. Their caring approach will work well with other sensitive women, however, there will be miscommunication when applied to an issue with a male counterpart. Conflict Women seek compromise when conflicts arise, but they sometimes fail to stand their ground. They succumb to the dominating demeanor of men, who use their natural mannerism to their advantage. This is an example of a hindrance to women, but an advantage to men. Men know that women work to maintain a peaceful work environment and if backing down in a disagreement is what it takes, its often the road taken (Warren, 2017). Strengths Women tend to have the upper hand in situations where listening skills, inclusive body language and empathy are more highly valued . They display signs of genuine interest when others are speaking by nodding their heads, leaning in, and smiling because they expect reciprocated behavior (Goman, 2016).
