Thesis Statement For Early Marriage
Outline
Thesis
In spite of believing that early marriage is a target for deliverance from poverty and it is the only way
for the girl s protection from the surrounding society as well as it is considered to be a solution for
reducing the burdens of the family, Early marriage should be combated and put into a limit by
prohibition of its legalization for its bad consequences.

Nannerl Influence On Mozart s Birth
Nevertheless, Nannerl remained a powerful influence to some of Mozart s greatest operas. In Così fan
tutte and Le Nozze di Figaro, the Countess and Fiordiligi find themselves standing at odds with the
social norms when they challenge the dominance of powerful men. Perhaps, the characters are
influenced from the relationships Mozart witnesses in his family. Unlike the heroines in his operas,
Nannerl chose to remain silent and submissive, never challenging Leopold s wishes, despite her
personal feelings. Despite her weak nature, Nannerl was rational, shrewd, and responsible, which
perfectly depicts the Countess and Fiordiligi. The difference between Mozart s heroines and Nannerl
lies in the ability to overcome adversity and fight for their beliefs, something that Nannerl never
accomplished. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the time Leopold and Mozart were traveling Europe, Anna Maria had to take of Nannerl on her
own while managing to keep her family connected through the difficult time of illness and financial
turmoil. The most difficult challenge for her was probably not being able to take part in her adoring
son s daily life and witness his musical success. To make the matter worse, whenever Leopold wrote
her a letter, he would either criticize her home management in his absence or boast about the
wonderful places that he and Mozart had visited. (Source 7, Ibid) This must have been painfully
difficult for Anna Maria to endure the absence of her husband and son while constantly being
criticized by her husband for her home management

High Fructose Ry Sweeteners
Sugar it is that deliciously sweet white substance that we just can t seem to resist. It is a guilty
pleasure that is known by almost everyone to be unhealthy, but is sugar actually a chronic toxin? Is it
slowly killing us from the inside out? In recent years, more and more research seems to suggest so.
With the increasing epidemic of obesity and diabetes, scientists are looking for answers, and their
findings are quite disturbing. If sugar is a toxin, then people need to know because health and lives are
at stake and the sugar industry could fall apart. To answer the question about the toxicity of sugar, one
must be clear about what type of sugar is being discussed because there are many different types. This
essay will discuss high fructose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to L. Bell, studies show that the sugar fructose in high fructose corn syrup messes up the
appetite controls, causing a person to not realize that they are full even though they ate the energy
dense fructose (L. Bell, 2013). This overeating can lead to weight gain, which can in turn lead to other
serious health problems. According to a study published in the International Journal of Obesity (2013)
High SSB [fructose rich sugar sweetened beverages] consumption has a notable effect on increased
levels of BMI [body mass index] and SUA [serum uric acid] (W.T. Lin, H.L. Huang, M.C. Huang, T.F.
Chan, S.Y. Ciou, C.Y. Lee, Y.W. Ciou, T.H. Duh, P.L. Lin, T.N. Wang, T.Y. Liu, and C.H. Lee, 2013, p.
532). In other words, the consumption of beverages sweetened with high fructose corn syrup
significantly increases levels of body mass index and the production of uric acid. Uric acid is harmful
because it can lead to kidney disease and gout, the painful inflammation of the joints because of all of
the extra uric acid circulating in the blood. Another concern about fructose is how it effects the liver.
Every cell in the body can use glucose to make energy, but only the liver can break down fructose.
When fructose is eaten, it must pass through the liver to be broken down. According to R. Lustig, once
it gets to the mitochondria, the power plant of the cell,

Nope, he said, I just want stock. JetBlue stock. David Neeleman, CEO and Founder, JetBlue Airways
It was the first week of April 2002, barely two years since the first freshly painted JetBlue plane rolled

leader Southwest Airlines. Neeleman stayed only briefly with Southwest, leaving to assist in the
launching of Canadian low fare carrier WestJet. Simultaneously, Neeleman also developed the e
ticketing system Open Skies which was acquired by Hewlett Packard in 1999. Neeleman
acknowledged that JetBlue s strategy was built on the goal of fixing everything that sucks about
airline travel. He offered passengers a unique flying experience by providing new aircraft, simple and
low fares, leather seats, free LiveTV at every seat, preassigned seating, reliable performance and high
quality customer service. JetBlue focused on point to point service to large metropolitan areas with
high average fares or highly traveled markets that are underserved. JetBlue operating strategy had
produced the lowest cost per available seat mile of any of the major U.S. airlines in 2001, 6.98 cents
versus an industry average of 10.08 cents. With its strong capital base, JetBlue had acquired a fleet of
new Airbus A320 aircraft. The JetBlue fleet was not only more reliable and fuel efficient than other
airline fleets but afforded greater economies of scale since the airline only had one model of aircraft.
JetBlue management believed in leveraging advanced technology. For instance, all of their pilots used

MHPA Research Paper
The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008, also known as MHPAEA is defined as a
federal law that prevents group health plans and health insurance issuers that provide mental health or
substance use disorder benefits from imposing less favorable benefit limitations on those benefits than
on medical or surgical benefits (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, para 1). Originally,
MHPAEA applied only to group health plans and group health insurance coverage, but was amended
by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to also apply to individual health insurance
coverage (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, para 2). The Mental Health Parity Act of 1996
(MHPA) defined that large group health plans could not impose annual dollar limits on mental health
benefits that are less favorable than any limits imposed on medical or surgical benefits (Centers for

medical or surgical benefits are treated in regard to dollar limits spent annually, however does not
require large group health plans or insurance issuers to cover mental health or substance use disorders

Tarachand Chakravarti one of the leaders of the Young Bengal group was appointed the secretary of
the organisation. Weekly service was held originally, every Saturday evening; later it was transferred
to Wednesday, a practice which has been retained to this day at the Brahmamandir of Tagore s
Shantiniketan. It consisted of three successive parts, viz. recitation of the Vedas by Telegu Brahmins in
the closed apartment exclusively before the Brahmin members of the congregation, reading and
exposition of the Upanishads for the general audience, and singing of religious hymns. This would
correspond exactly to the reading of the Bible, the sermon and the hymns of Christian worship, and on
this point Rammohun s previous Unitarian contacts had certainly been of considerable help by
providing him with a model of congregational worship which was alien to the spirit of Hinduism. The
parallelism however was confined exclusively to the outward form. The contents of Rammohun s
universal worship were thoroughly Hindu in character. The reading of the vedas exclusively before the
Brahmin participant does not apparently accord well with the universal and non sectarian ideals of the
new church as set forth in its Trust Deed. But the only custodian of Vedic rituals in Calcutta at that
moment was the orthodox Telegu Brahmin community and its members could not be persuaded to
recite the Vedas before Brahmins and non Brahmins alike. That Rammohun and his

Access Control Research Paper
An access control example in my community is doors. Having a lock door, will cover access to your
home, which is one of the first steps in securing your home. A properly set up fence, will make it even
more difficult for someone to roam in your yard. If someone you do not know is inside your fence, it
can easily alert you that a potential problem is arriving. Shrubs are another factor in access control.
Shrubs can make it very difficult for someone to view inside your home. There are shrubs that can
grow up to 15 to 20 feet height. Having many shrubs in your yard can make access to your home feel
more of a challenge, which is how a lot of homes in my community are set up. Natural surveillance
example is windows. Windows not only protect you from the weather but it helps with ... Show more

home owner having another safety aspect part of his or her home. Every home in my community has a
front and back porch.
All of these measure are very effective in my community. Cops are not around my community 24/7 or
anybody else s community. These different elements and the examples I provided helps my

My Story By Alicia Appleman Jurman
Those who take the time to fully examine the Holocaust, and its exemplary survivors deal with the
unsettling knowledge that those before them over looked. Between the years of 1933 to 1947, the
Holocaust prospered through many countries in Europe, including the proximity of one survivor s
homeland, Poland. Alicia: My Story by Alicia Appleman Jurman is historically famous for it s
shocking relevance throughout its background. It has also been infamous for its brutal unvarnished
truth by well known book reviews, but overall it s cultural impact on the world has shown it is a lesson
that should be known by all.
Before there were survivors of the appalling Holocaust, there was the emanation of this fledgling
abomination. It began in September 1st of 1939, when Nazi troops invaded Poland, and Germany
surrendered sulkingly on May 8th of 1945 ( HISTORY 3). This kindled the tyrant Adolf Hitler to wage
two wars, and incidentally revived a new World War. The first war was against the allied forces, Great
Britain, the United States and the Soviet Union; Sadly, the other war was against the jews, this in turn
gave way to the beginning of the Holocaust (3). This was all kindled only a few years after one
survivor named Alicia Appleman Jurman was born which made her nine years of age at the time in
Poland. Jews who collapsed under the harsh hammer of the German s control in the Eastern and
Central Europe were almost immediately belittled in every way made possible (3). The effects were

The Grail As A Symbol Of Divine Grace
The Holy Grail is the mystical cup that Christ used at the last supper and it is believed that it holds
special powers. The Grail was considered to be a bowl or dish when first described by Chrétien de
Troyes (Holy Grail Crystalinks). Hélinand of Froidmont described the Grail as a wide and deep saucer
(O Neal 79). Other authors had their own ideas: Robert de Boron portrayed it as the vessel of the Last
Supper; and Peredur had no Grail per se, presenting the hero instead with a platter containing his
kinsman s bloody, severed head (Holy Grail Crystalinks). In Parzival, Wolfram von Eschenbach, citing
the authority of a certain (probably fictional) Kyot the Provençal, claimed the Grail was a stone that
fell from Heaven, and had been the sanctuary of the Neutral Angels who took neither side during
Lucifer s rebellion. The authors of the Vulgate Cycle used the Grail as a symbol of divine grace.
Galahad, illegitimate son of Lancelot and Elaine, the world s greatest knight and the Grail Bearer at
the castle of Corbenic, is destined to achieve the Grail, his spiritual purity making him a greater
warrior than even his illustrious father. Galahad and the interpretation of the Grail involving him were
picked up in the 15th century by Sir Thomas Malory in Le Morte d Arthur, and remain popular today.
The Grail is first featured in Perceval, le Conte du Graal (The Story of the Grail) by Chrétien de
Troyes, who claims he was working from a source book given to him by his patron,

Implementing Change Essay
Implementing Change Organizations do not change, people do (Sullivan and Decker, 2009). A
manager s responsibility is to manage people. Change is difficult for most people and managing
through the change process is not an easy task. Many theories on managing change exist, but they
basically have four elements: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation (Sullivan Decker,
2009). A manager s role is to examine each of these elements and apply them to the people that he or
she leads. Addresses the Manager s Role and Responsibility In Implementing Change According to
Sullivan and Decker there is a ten step process to implement change (Sullivan Decker, 2009). In the
first three steps the manager must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more active the participants are in the planning, the less resistance there will be later (Sullivan
Decker). If staff does not trust leadership, does not share the organization s vision, does not buy into
the reason for change, and aren t included in the planning, there will be no successful change,
regardless of how brilliant the strategy (Goman, 2000). How people react to change is important to
understand. Change takes an emotional toll on people, some more than others. It is important not to
underestimate that toll and understand who will have a harder time adapting to change. Fear of change
has many roots. Those roots can be a lack of trust, fear of failure, fear of loss of income or a belief that
the change is unnecessary (Sullivan Decker). By understanding the reason for the resistance a manager
can help the employee overcome his or her fear and become a supporter of the change. The last two
steps are to provide feedback mechanisms to keep everyone informed of the progress of change and
evaluate the effectiveness of change (Sullivan Decker). People need to be kept informed of the change
process to minimize anxiety. Sometimes there are unexpected consequences to the change, and it is
important to have a system in place for those consequences to be discussed and if needed more
changes made in order to accommodate those consequences. Address Ways a Manager Should Handle

Athenian Democracy Dbq
Despite having a Limited Democracy, Athens enjoyed many freedoms. An example of these freedoms
would be people voting, the Athenians could vote. Athens had a democracy with a very high citizen
participation. Athens had a democracy where there was large amounts of participation in it. An
example of this would be the Vase in Document 1, it shows multiple Athenian people that are working
together on a project. In Document 1, one of the people is an Athenian Soldier, based on what he is
wearing, and the others working appear to be Athenian citizens. The vase appears to show teamwork
and unity between the men, which is also another sign of a democracy. Another example of the
participation is in Document 2, which is a quote from the Celestine s. This mentions a people party, in
which is a political party that is to be made up Athenians citizens that make laws and governing. The
quote by the Thucydides in Document 5, mentions the Athenians participation was beyond the
obscurity of his condition , in other words no matter who you were you could participate in the

Corruption is mentioned by Plato in Document 8, which was what he thought the eager ruler caused.
Also the history of Athens had corruption in it too, but afterwards it was not to be talked about
anymore. This is shown in Document 9 by the excerpt from Aristotle s Politics. It talked about how
tyrannies end democracy and allow the corruptions of the states. In addition, it was also talked about
in Document 4 by Aeschines, and how only a democracy remedies the temper of one s autocratic
rulers. Lastly, Democracy was combating the conception of Lawlessness of Liberty . (Document 3)
This means that a democracy was seen as allowing corruption but it wasn t, but it helped combat

is a chemical that an organism needs to live and grow or a substance used in an organism s

Loss Of Life Exposed In Endymion By John Keats
Of all the great poets of the early nineteenth century, John Keats (1795 1821) was the last to be born
and first to die. Born in London, England, on October 31, 1795, to a poor stable keeper, John Keats
devoted his short life to the perfection of poetry marked by intense imagery, great sensuous appeal and
an attempt to express a philosophy through classical legend. Although he was brought up amid
surroundings and influences by no means calculated to awaken poetic genius. Rendered an orphan at
the tender age of eight, his father s death had a deep rooted effect on the young boy s life. In a more
metaphysical sense, it shaped his understanding of the human condition, both its suffering and its loss.

CIA and JSOC drone strikes are illegal. They violate the Hague Convention that states contracting

Sandy Hook Elementary Shootings
In the aftermath of the Sandy Hook elementary shootings, the NRA executive vice president, Wayne
Lapierre, released a statement in a press conference that spoke of how politicians who wanted to make
schools a gun free zone only serve to invite all potential killers that schools are the safest place to
inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk. The only thing to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good
guy with a gun was an important aspect of his speech, which emphasized the need to protect the
children in schools with guns. He made the point that the President is surrounded and protected by
Secret Service agents who are armed. Lapierre wanted to employ the millions of qualified and active
retired police, active, Reserve, and retired military,

Figurative Language In The Alchemist
The Alchemist Figurative Language Coelho uses a simile in the sentence; The Alchemist fell as silent
as the desert (Coelho 142). Coelho gives a sense of comparison between the absence of the alchemist s
voice and the silence of the desert. Coelho compares books to caravans in a simile by using the word
like; Books are like caravans in that respect (Coelho 78). Coelho indicates that one can learn as much
on a caravan as from books. Coelho gave a touch of life to the Sun and wind by personification; In my
travels around the world, I ve often seen people speaking of love and looking toward the heavens, the
wind said, (Coelho 240). From where I am, the sun said, I can see the Soul of the World (Coelho 242).
By adding personification, the author made it seem as if the Sun and wind actually have human
characteristics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The world doesn t speak but the author states this to say that the world can tell many things to one
who listens to it. The author refers to foreshadowing to give the reader a little sneak peek; He took the
fourth part and handed it to the monk. This is for the boy. If he ever needs it (Coelho 252). When the
monk is given the fourth piece of gold, it foreshadows that Santiago will return. Coelho applied some
irony towards the end of the novel; An hour later, he had before him a chest of Spanish gold coins
(Coelho 268). It is ironic for Santiago to travel all the way to Egypt only to discover that the treasure
he was seeking was right under the place where he had dreamed it. Coelho makes use of a metaphor;
The desert is a capricious lady, and sometimes she drives men crazy (Coelho 71). He compares the
desert to a woman s mood changes because of the constant weather changes in the

Elizabeth s Mother-Personal Narrative
It is a beautiful day with a nice cool breeze. There are kids outside playing in the park. You can hear
cars in the distance. There is a small house on a hill where Elisabeth lives with her mother. Elizabeth
has long brown hair and hazel eyes. She looks a lot like her mother. Her life had been just about
perfect until now. Elizabeth is one day away from turning 15. She is really nervous. She has lived with
her mother so long now, just the two of them. All of the fun memory s they have had together could
just disappear without her house and her mother. Leaving would be so hard.
When someone turns 15 in Elisabeth s unjust society, they must move away from their parents and
move into their own pre selected house. Each person gets to pick the color ... Show more content on

The morning came. Elizabeth sat a the table eating the usual, oatmeal. Today Elizabeth s mother made
Elizabeth s favorite type of oatmeal, strawberry! Although the oatmeal is delicious Elizabeth must
speak up.
It s not fair! Elisabeth said before she left her mother Why can t I come back and visit you?
Her mother responded You know the rules. I am upset too, but you can t come here again . Elizabeth
gets in the car and leaves to her new home as Elisabeth drives away she holds in her tears. Her mother
stays sobbing, watching her leave. This could be the last time they ever see each other again.
Elisabeth gets her own house, a nice small blue house that has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a small
kitchen and a small living room. This is perfect for Elisabeth except for now she just lives there alone.
The air tastes sweet, she lives next to the ocean! She goes into her front yard and meets her new
neighbor Nelson that who has just left his family recently too. He thinks that Elisabeth should go see
her mother. Elisabeth thought about Nelson s advice and a week or so past in her perfect house. She
really does want to go see her mother again. So, later that night she decides to sneak into her mother s
house and stay there a day or two. It was a scary way there sneaking out was never Elisabeth s
specialty. When she was little she tried sneaking to

Year Round School Benefits
Barack Obama stated, The challenges of the new century demand more time in the classroom. A three
month vacation from school may seam ideal, but in reality it is detrimental to a child s education. Year
round schooling is very beneficial not only because it offers educational benefits, but family benefits
as well. The family benefits that attending a year round school provides are financial stability and a
much easier time planning family vacations. It can be hard for parents to find childcare for three
months in a row as well as having the money to do so. Families with an employed mother and children
younger than 15 paid an average of $143 per week for child care in 2011, up from $84 in 1985 (Child
Care Costs on the Upswing, Census ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the frequent breaks that come along with year round schooling, this helps the students and
teachers to not become overwhelmed by being overcrowded. Just like schools with a traditional
calendar, year round school students attend 180 days of school. The only difference is is that year
round schools have a multi track system that consists of four different tracks. The way this schedule
works is that while one track is out of school for a fifteen day break, three other tracks are in school
for 45 days. Once the group that was on a fifteen day break have returned to school, one track will be
sent out on their fifteen day break. ( What Is A Multi Track Year Round Calendar? 15). The three
month vacation many kids get is not such a good thing. This is because over the course of three
months, children forget half of what they had learned previously. Year round schooling provides
children to retain information much better by having shorter, more frequent breaks. A comparison was
done between three year round schools and three standard schedule schools to compare how much
knowledge was gained by the students by the end of the year. The three year round schools had gained
10.05% more knowledge of math and 10.52% reading skills by the end of the school year. The
standard schedule school had gained 7.71% more knowledge of math and 8.91%. ( Year Round School
Statistics 8). As you can see, year round school increases students knowledge, and offers a better
learning environment by providing appropriate durations for breaks for students and teachers to
relieve themselves from the stresses of

California s this story is one of the most serious cases of child abuse. Dave the author of this book
wrote this book about himself and the struggles he encountered because of his abusive mother. Right
now doesn t always define your future. In this story David Pelzer was viciously beaten by his
alcoholic mother. She often would play games with him. Often times these games were torturous, and
unpredictable. At times the so called games his mother played would almost leave him dead. David

Latin American Cultures Midterm
Section 1 Question 1 Throughout the pre Columbus era in Latin America, The Mayas, Aztecs, and
Incas built unique civilizations, each with its own distinctive achievements, creating distinctive
cultures to unite their individual societies. The Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas not only shared many
similarities in the ways they built their civilizations, but also had differing characteristics that made
each people its own. Civilization in the Americas originated as early as 7000 B.C. as a result of a land
bridge between Asia and the Americas, formed when the Bering Strait connecting current day Russia
with Alaska united the two continents during the Ice Age. The humans who crossed the land bridge,
mostly hunter gatherers, eventually developed advanced civilizations throughout North and South
America. By around 900 B.C., the Olmec civilization one of the first advanced civilizations in the
Americas populated parts of Mexico and Central America, where they developed advancements such
as building the first pyramids. About 200 years later, descendants of the Olmecs emerged the Maya,
Zapotec, Totonac, and Teotihuacán civilizations. Over time, the Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas emerged as
subsequent descendants of the first humans who populated the Americas. The Mayan civilization
emerged as early as 2000 B.C. in Mesoamerica, Southern Mexico extending throughout

Analysis of Jim Collin s Great by Choice Essay
Human Sexuality Assignment At its core, Great By Choice is a deep exploration of what distinguishes
top performers from their peers during times of chaos, crisis, instability and uncertainty. Rigorous in
its approach but practical in its presentation, Great By Choice to me seems like the perfect handbook
for college seniors such as myself. In tackling the question of what distinguishes top performers in
times of uncertainty, the authors first define what exactly a top performer is and then highlights the
three key ingredients that these individuals were discovered to possess. 10Xers are leaders who built
companies that started from a position of vulnerability, rose to beat their respective industries by at
least 10 times, and did so in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Basically a forward thinking individual who understands that slow and steady wins the race who is
armed with patience, drive, and the ability to sell their dream to others is needed to obtain success
before anything else. According to Collins the fire bullets, then cannonballs approach is the best way
to explain the success of large companies. The concept is sort of an homage to the days before
automatic handguns. It takes a lot less gunpowder to fire a bullet than a cannonball, so it is more
effective and plausible to start a battle with bullets; and once enough time has been spent preparing for
the big finish then a cannonball can and should be fired. A bullet is a low distraction, low risk, and low
cost test or experiement. There are two types of cannonballs, uncalibrated and calibrated. A calibrated
cannonball is an idea or concept that is backed by evidence, or in this case empirical validation. A
uncalibrated cannonball, in more or less words, is when one places all their eggs in one basket without
taking the time to obtain empirical validation. Again, slow and steady wins the race. Intel s founders
believed that innovation without discipline leads to disaster. This means having the patience to
cultivate, check and double check an idea to make certain it can be executed and delivered. With this
patience one must take it upon themselves to figure out what will and will not work. There is no way
to predict the future,

Langston Hughes The Negro Artist And The Racial Mountain
Langston Hughes , The Negro Artist and the Racial Mountain claimed that African Americans face
racial and cultural challenges with finding their own identity in a society mainly influenced by
Eurocentric American culture. More specifically, Hughes discussed the challenges of African
American artists in embracing their black and remaining successful. Hughes recalled a conversation
with a black poet, who stated that I want to be a poet not a Negro poet, (Hughes, 964). Hughes
interpreted his statement to mean that subconsciously he wanted to be white. He used this
conversation and others to support his beliefs about African American identity and culture. He
communicated that African Americans try to blend into the Eurocentric American culture,

The Song TKO By Justin Timberlake
The song TKO by Justin Timberlake reflects the pain a man can suffer by the woman he loves. This is
a song that Othello would listen to because he feels betrayed by his beloved wife Desdemona. During
the song, Justin sings, It cuts right on my eye, yeah it hurt/Still can t see/ Think I saw you with another
guy (21 22). Similarly, Othello is blind from the truth and thinks Desdemona is cheating on him with
his ex lieutenant Cassio. As a result, Othello breaks down and states, She s gone. I am abus d, and my
relief/Must be to loathe her. (3.3.262 266). Therefore, this is a song that relates to Othello because,
like Justin Timberlake, Othello has a miserable feeling thanks to his self destructing relationship with
Desdemona.

Vasa Anthropogenic Disaster
Since a disaster is defined as a calamitous event, especially one occurring suddenly and causing great
loss of life, damage, or hardship, as a flood, airplane crash, or business failure (Dictionary.com), I
would say the sinking of the Vasa was a anthropogenic disaster. The failure of the Vasa can be
contributed to more than just its sinking, if we take a look at its inception the Vasa was predestined to
fail. The lessons learned from this event can provide insight into the loss of the Vasa and projects of
today. 1. Lack of documentation: According to the article there was no scientific theory of how a
vessel should be build, no schematics or engineering drawings to provide a visual of how the boat
would look and the blueprints lived in the head of the designer. 2. ... Show more content on

Unrealistic timeline of completion: Based on pass successes it was notated that 2 or 3 years are
required to complete a single ship. Then contract between Hybertson and Admiral Fleming required a
speeded up rate of production which did not allow for adjustments to errors or true evaluation of each
ship individually. As the war became more active the time constraints to complete the Vasa became
tight. 3. Unclear expectations: The primary function of the Vasa was to be a large war. Unfortunately
there were no specifications of what the ship should look like the only information provided were
approximate length and width the ship should have. Hybertson was responsible for determining the
form and proportions of the ship based on what knew about ships build in the

Irony In Alice Munro s How I Met My Husband
Alice Munro s, How I Met My Husband , provides a good example of both situational and dramatic
irony. The situational irony lies in the fact that the reader does not expect the mailman to be Edie s
husband at all. Throughout most of the story, the narrator speaks about Chris Watters a war hero and
commendable man. The way that she refers to him with such an affectionate description and tone
makes the reader believe that they will end up together. However, this is not the average love story.
This is a realistic love story, and though it is unexpected, she does not end up with Chris, but the
mailman who she had always waited on to deliver his letters. This is when the dramatic irony takes
place. The mailman developed the idea that she had been

  • 3. Nannerl Influence On Mozart s Birth Nevertheless, Nannerl remained a powerful influence to some of Mozart s greatest operas. In Così fan tutte and Le Nozze di Figaro, the Countess and Fiordiligi find themselves standing at odds with the social norms when they challenge the dominance of powerful men. Perhaps, the characters are influenced from the relationships Mozart witnesses in his family. Unlike the heroines in his operas, Nannerl chose to remain silent and submissive, never challenging Leopold s wishes, despite her personal feelings. Despite her weak nature, Nannerl was rational, shrewd, and responsible, which perfectly depicts the Countess and Fiordiligi. The difference between Mozart s heroines and Nannerl lies in the ability to overcome adversity and fight for their beliefs, something that Nannerl never accomplished. ... To make the matter worse, whenever Leopold wrote her a letter, he would either criticize her home management in his absence or boast about the wonderful places that he and Mozart had visited. It is a guilty pleasure that is known by almost everyone to be unhealthy, but is sugar actually a chronic toxin? Is it slowly killing us from the inside out? In recent years, more and more research seems to suggest so. With the increasing epidemic of obesity and diabetes, scientists are looking for answers, and their findings are quite disturbing. If sugar is a toxin, then people need to know because health and lives are at stake and the sugar industry could fall apart. To answer the question about the toxicity of sugar, one must be clear about what type of sugar is being discussed because there are many different types. This essay will discuss high fructose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to L. Bell, studies show that the sugar fructose in high fructose corn syrup messes up the appetite controls, causing a person to not realize that they are full even though they ate the energy dense fructose (L. Bell, 2013). This overeating can lead to weight gain, which can in turn lead to other serious health problems. According to a study published in the International Journal of Obesity (2013) High SSB [fructose rich sugar sweetened beverages] consumption has a notable effect on increased levels of BMI [body mass index] and SUA [serum uric acid] (W.T. Lin, H.L. Huang, M.C. Huang, T.F. Chan, S.Y. Ciou, C.Y. Lee, Y.W. Ciou, T.H. Duh, P.L. Lin, T.N. Wang, T.Y. Liu, and C.H. Lee, 2013, p. 532). In other words, the consumption of beverages sweetened with high fructose corn syrup significantly increases levels of body mass index and the production of uric acid. Uric acid is harmful because it can lead to kidney disease and gout, the painful inflammation of the joints because of all of the extra uric acid circulating in the blood. Another concern about fructose is how it effects the liver. Every cell in the body can use glucose to make energy, but only the liver can break down fructose. When fructose is eaten, it must pass through the liver to be broken down. According to R. Lustig, once it gets to the mitochondria, the power plant of the cell, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It consisted of three successive parts, viz. recitation of the Vedas by Telegu Brahmins in the closed apartment exclusively before the Brahmin members of the congregation, reading and exposition of the Upanishads for the general audience, and singing of religious hymns. This would correspond exactly to the reading of the Bible, the sermon and the hymns of Christian worship, and on this point Rammohun s previous Unitarian contacts had certainly been of considerable help by providing him with a model of congregational worship which was alien to the spirit of Hinduism. The parallelism however was confined exclusively to the outward form. The contents of Rammohun s universal worship were thoroughly Hindu in character. The reading of the vedas exclusively before the Brahmin participant does not apparently accord well with the universal and non sectarian ideals of the new church as set forth in its Trust Deed. • 10. My Story By Alicia Appleman Jurman Those who take the time to fully examine the Holocaust, and its exemplary survivors deal with the unsettling knowledge that those before them over looked. Between the years of 1933 to 1947, the Holocaust prospered through many countries in Europe, including the proximity of one survivor s homeland, Poland. Alicia: My Story by Alicia Appleman Jurman is historically famous for it s shocking relevance throughout its background. It has also been infamous for its brutal unvarnished truth by well known book reviews, but overall it s cultural impact on the world has shown it is a lesson that should be known by all. Before there were survivors of the appalling Holocaust, there was the emanation of this fledgling abomination. It began in September 1st of 1939, when Nazi troops invaded Poland, and Germany surrendered sulkingly on May 8th of 1945 ( HISTORY 3). This kindled the tyrant Adolf Hitler to wage two wars, and incidentally revived a new World War. The first war was against the allied forces, Great Britain, the United States and the Soviet Union; Sadly, the other war was against the jews, this in turn gave way to the beginning of the Holocaust (3). This was all kindled only a few years after one survivor named Alicia Appleman Jurman was born which made her nine years of age at the time in Poland. Jews who collapsed under the harsh hammer of the German s control in the Eastern and Central Europe were almost immediately belittled in every way made possible (3). The effects were ... • 11. The Grail As A Symbol Of Divine Grace The Holy Grail is the mystical cup that Christ used at the last supper and it is believed that it holds special powers. The Grail was considered to be a bowl or dish when first described by Chrétien de Troyes (Holy Grail Crystalinks). Hélinand of Froidmont described the Grail as a wide and deep saucer (O Neal 79). Other authors had their own ideas: Robert de Boron portrayed it as the vessel of the Last Supper; and Peredur had no Grail per se, presenting the hero instead with a platter containing his kinsman s bloody, severed head (Holy Grail Crystalinks). In Parzival, Wolfram von Eschenbach, citing the authority of a certain (probably fictional) Kyot the Provençal, claimed the Grail was a stone that fell from Heaven, and had been the sanctuary of the Neutral Angels who took neither side during Lucifer s rebellion. The authors of the Vulgate Cycle used the Grail as a symbol of divine grace. Galahad, illegitimate son of Lancelot and Elaine, the world s greatest knight and the Grail Bearer at the castle of Corbenic, is destined to achieve the Grail, his spiritual purity making him a greater warrior than even his illustrious father. Galahad and the interpretation of the Grail involving him were picked up in the 15th century by Sir Thomas Malory in Le Morte d Arthur, and remain popular today. • 12. Implementing Change Essay Implementing Change Organizations do not change, people do (Sullivan and Decker, 2009). A manager s responsibility is to manage people. Change is difficult for most people and managing through the change process is not an easy task. Many theories on managing change exist, but they basically have four elements: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation (Sullivan Decker, 2009). A manager s role is to examine each of these elements and apply them to the people that he or she leads. Addresses the Manager s Role and Responsibility In Implementing Change According to Sullivan and Decker there is a ten step process to implement change (Sullivan Decker, 2009). In the first three steps the manager must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The more active the participants are in the planning, the less resistance there will be later (Sullivan Decker). If staff does not trust leadership, does not share the organization s vision, does not buy into the reason for change, and aren t included in the planning, there will be no successful change, regardless of how brilliant the strategy (Goman, 2000). How people react to change is important to understand. Change takes an emotional toll on people, some more than others. It is important not to underestimate that toll and understand who will have a harder time adapting to change. Fear of change has many roots. Those roots can be a lack of trust, fear of failure, fear of loss of income or a belief that the change is unnecessary (Sullivan Decker). By understanding the reason for the resistance a manager can help the employee overcome his or her fear and become a supporter of the change. The last two steps are to provide feedback mechanisms to keep everyone informed of the progress of change and evaluate the effectiveness of change (Sullivan Decker). People need to be kept informed of the change process to minimize anxiety. Sometimes there are unexpected consequences to the change, and it is important to have a system in place for those consequences to be discussed and if needed more changes made in order to accommodate those consequences. The two countries have faced the pressures of economic transformation, social and political standoffs, and now have moved to a new stage of complex mix of diplomatic issues, differences in values, and increasingly intertwined economy. In the following, I will first analyze the similarities and differences between the two speeches, point out U.S. and China s problematic intentions that cause diplomatic challenges, and argue about why it is crucial for the U.S. to keep interfere with China s diplomatic situations. To defend my position, I will examine China and the U.S. s take on the South China Sea dispute, which has risen up to be a major flashpoint for conflicts in Asia after the Cold War. The family benefits that attending a year round school provides are financial stability and a much easier time planning family vacations. Just like schools with a traditional calendar, year round school students attend 180 days of school. The only difference is is that year round schools have a multi track system that consists of four different tracks. The way this schedule works is that while one track is out of school for a fifteen day break, three other tracks are in school for 45 days. Once the group that was on a fifteen day break have returned to school, one track will be sent out on their fifteen day break. ( What Is A Multi Track Year Round Calendar? 15). The three month vacation many kids get is not such a good thing. This is because over the course of three months, children forget half of what they had learned previously. Year round schooling provides children to retain information much better by having shorter, more frequent breaks. The standard schedule school had gained 7.71% more knowledge of math and 8.91%. ( Year Round School Statistics 8). The Mayas, Aztecs, and Incas not only shared many similarities in the ways they built their civilizations, but also had differing characteristics that made each people its own. Civilization in the Americas originated as early as 7000 B.C. as a result of a land bridge between Asia and the Americas, formed when the Bering Strait connecting current day Russia with Alaska united the two continents during the Ice Age. The humans who crossed the land bridge, mostly hunter gatherers, eventually developed advanced civilizations throughout North and South America. By around 900 B.C., the Olmec civilization one of the first advanced civilizations in the Americas populated parts of Mexico and Central America, where they developed advancements such as building the first pyramids. About 200 years later, descendants of the Olmecs emerged the Maya, Zapotec, Totonac, and Teotihuacán civilizations. In tackling the question of what distinguishes top performers in times of uncertainty, the authors first define what exactly a top performer is and then highlights the three key ingredients that these individuals were discovered to possess. 10Xers are leaders who built companies that started from a position of vulnerability, rose to beat their respective industries by at least 10 times, and did so in ... Basically a forward thinking individual who understands that slow and steady wins the race who is armed with patience, drive, and the ability to sell their dream to others is needed to obtain success before anything else. According to Collins the fire bullets, then cannonballs approach is the best way to explain the success of large companies. The concept is sort of an homage to the days before automatic handguns. It takes a lot less gunpowder to fire a bullet than a cannonball, so it is more effective and plausible to start a battle with bullets; and once enough time has been spent preparing for the big finish then a cannonball can and should be fired. A bullet is a low distraction, low risk, and low cost test or experiement. There are two types of cannonballs, uncalibrated and calibrated. A calibrated cannonball is an idea or concept that is backed by evidence, or in this case empirical validation. A uncalibrated cannonball, in more or less words, is when one places all their eggs in one basket without taking the time to obtain empirical validation. Again, slow and steady wins the race. Intel s founders believed that innovation without discipline leads to disaster. This means having the patience to cultivate, check and double check an idea to make certain it can be executed and delivered.
