Taking a Look at Property Contractual Law
Q1. Citing case law (English or Irish), discuss three essential elements that should be complied with to
ensure that a tenant can properly exercise a break clause in a lease of a commercial property. (50
marks)
A1. A Break clause allows a tenant to terminate his/her lease early, usually subject to certain
conditions which allows the tenant to react to the market conditions if they want to upsize, downsize
or the property has just become unaffordable. However exercising a break clause can be tricky and
very risky because getting it wrong usually means losing the brake clause and then the lease continues
which can end up being more expensive than if you just continued the lease. Three essential elements
that are complied with to ensure that a tenant can properly exercise a break clause in the lease of a
commercial property are:
1. Is to include in the lease periodic break clause options to be exercised by the tenant only e.g. a
break in the year five, ten and fifteen of a twenty year lease.
2. In the event that the landlord either, (A) the tenant goes bankrupt or goes into receivership, (B) the
bank repossess or (C) a change of ownership that potently could cause conflict i.e. selling the property
to a competitor.
3. In the event where the landlord applies to fundamentally change the property or the planning e.g.
seeks to carry out major refurbishments that would cause disruption to trade.
Similar actions have arisen from the Irish courts with the case O Brien vs. BT

Disinfectant Lab Report
Our science experiment was to try and figure out which disinfectant was the most effective on killing
bacteria. We chose seven different disinfectants and tested them on gram positive and gram negative
bacteria to see which would have the largest zone of inhibition after 23 hours in an incubator at 28
degrees. This experiment taught me a lot of useful things for the future such as what the most effective
way of cleaning is. We decided to do this project because we wanted to know if what people used to
clean their houses was really doing the job.
For our science experiment, we tested household disinfectants against gram positive, and gram
negative bacteria. To begin with, one of the main differences between gram positive and gram
negative bacteria is the structural differences in their cell walls. Gram negative has an inner
membrane, a small layer of peptidoglycan (which is a substance that forms in most bacteria that acts
as a back bone to the cell wall giving it strength), then another membrane and the cell wall. The
peptidoglycan is sandwiched between two lipid (fat) layers. Gram positive bacteria have just
peptidoglycan but they have a lot of it making them stronger. Secondly, the gram in gram positive and
gram negative refers to how a bacterium reacts to a gram stain. To ... Show more content on

My first point is that without the use of disinfectants, there would be germs absolutely everywhere.
From doorknobs to table counters, germs and endless bacteria would take over. Next, with all of these
germs out in the air and on all surfaces, infection and sickness would spread like wildfire. Even
though there are medication to cure infection and disease, we would need great amounts to help many
people. In conclusion, we would all be inevitably doomed. Infection and disease would eventually
take over without disinfectants leaving nothing. The use of disinfectants is extremely important
because without it everyone would be very

Body Image And Self Esteem
One may stand in front of the mirror and pick at every aspect of their bodies. My hair is too poofy.
Wow, I need to lose some weight. My nose is too big on my face. I wish I wasn t so wide. Does that
sound familiar? Our viewpoint on our body images and our self esteem can influence our feelings,
thoughts and behaviors. The overall definition of self esteem is an individual s emotional evaluation
on his or hers own worth. Although low self esteem is not a mental health problem, but the two are
closely related. Everyone is affected differently by low self esteem.
Today, to young people, the likes on their photos, posts and comments brings a sense of
accomplishment and acceptance. In a survey, 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies and their
weight so they resort to dieting to achieve the ideal body shape. On the downside, only 5% of women
actually have the body shape that is shown in American media. We see photos of beautiful humans
every day. When we walk down the street and see all of the ads scattered on buildings and billboards
with beautiful people on them. We see pictures of them on social medias like Facebook, Instagram and
even Twitter. These medias have became an important part of our lives. On these medias, beauty is
based upon 0.05 percent of the population and we look at it 97 percent of the time (How the Media

Evolution Of Hip Hop
The thing about hip hop is that it s from the underground ideas from the underbelly from people who
have mostly been locked out, who have not been recognized. (Russell Simmons, co founder of Def
Jam Recordings). Hip hop was formed in the Bronx and ghettos of New York City during the 1970s. It
began with African Americans and Latinos at block parties when technology and drum machines
became available and affordable. Hip hop doesn t stay the same and constantly changes with new
elements being added to the four key elements which include MCing, rapping, DJing, scratching,
break dancing, and graffiti. Hip hop has been described as a musical melting pot. It s an amalgamation

Dentist Admissions Essay
As a human being, and raised up in a doctor s family, I have always considered myself to have an
inclination towards helping my community. My outlook towards helping others evolved into a duty
after my own personal interaction with my orthodontist and the accreditation she holds for giving me a
beautiful smile, emerged the idea of pursuing my career as a dentist.
To gain an intuitive understanding of this field, I got enrolled in a 4 year dental graduate program.
Time flew by with years of studying, volunteering at dental camps, attending continuing education
courses, seminars, conferences and being part of the oral health awareness programs at numerous
times. Getting to know about the contemporary facilities, innovative treatments, visiting ... Show more

me an opportunity of proving myself amongst so many fellows, needs to be availed. I believe and

their people with the leading edge facilities and advanced therapies that are yet to be utilized
elsewhere. I want to represent the States in my home country with the best knowledge and skills, and
provide my help to the people anywhere I am given a fortuity to fulfill my responsibility.
I am very optimistic about seeing myself as a practicing oral and maxillofacial surgeon seven or nine
years from now, having the highest dental care standards, volunteering at dental camps, providing
education and being a part of research projects leading to the unseen and compelling future of
dentistry.
I know the path I am opting for, will be laborious and grueling. But, I also agree with it, to not be

Summary Of Jeannette Walls The Silver Star
In the novel, The Silver Star, by Jeannette Walls, a conflicted mother, named Charlotte, struggles with
taking care of her two kids named, Liz and Jean. Jean is a twelve year old girl who goes by the name
Bean. She is very responsible and good at taking care of herself. Liz is fifteen years old and she takes
care of Bean and herself. The girls try hard to figure out where to stay whenever their mother
unexpectedly leaves for a couple days.
In the beginning of the novel, Liz and Bean did not mind their mother leaving them home alone
without any supervision. The girls did not mind it at all. I wasn t worried that Mom had been gone for
four days. I was more worried about the chicken pot pies. (Walls 1 2). Here it shows how the narrator,

Albert Einstein Essay
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. There are two ways to
live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
Albert Einstein was the first child born to Hermann and Pauline Einstein, Jewish, middle class
Germans, on March 14, 1879 at Ulm, in Wurttemberg, Germany. Albert s sister, Maria, was born in
November of 1881. They remained close throughout their lives.Einstein and sister 1 The Einstein

1905 was Einstein s miracle year. In March of that year, he sent to the Annalen der Physik, the leading
German physics journal, a paper with a new understanding of the structure of light. He argued that
light acts as though is consists of independent particles of energy. Einstein built on Max Planck s work
and went beyond this. He showed that light quanta could help to explain phenomena being studied by
experimental physicists; he made clear how light ejects electrons from metals. In May of 1905,
Einstein submitted another paper that reinforced the kinetic energy theory. His Special Theory of
Relativity was born; Einstein submitted yet another paper in June of 1905 on electromagnetism and
motion. Since Galileo and Newton, physicists had known that laboratory experiments never revealed a
difference between an object at rest and an object moving at a constant speed along a straight line.
Objects behave the same way on a uniformly moving ship as they do on an anchored ship; this is the
Principle of Relativity. However, according to the electromagnetic theory, light should not obey this
principle. This theory predicted that measurements on velociy of light would show the effects of
motion. Yet, no such effect had been detected in any experiments the velocity of light did not vary.
Einstein found a way to show that the Principle of Relativity was

Symbolism In A Dark Brown Dog By Stephen Crane
What would society be like if we saw the world through a dog s eyes? A black and white world, with
no judging based on one s pigmentation. A world where interactions between human beings were
genuine and meaningful. A place where one s skin color does not determine goodness or badness or
make one better than, or worse than. A dog cannot simply distinguish the difference between a good
human being and a bad one based on color, for which they only pay attention to how they are treated
and the kindness shown from that individual. If dogs could figure this out, why can t we? A short story
written by Stephen Crane in 1893 portrays this mindset of society shortly after slavery was abolished
in the United States. A Dark Brown Dog is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The dog represented African Americans ongoing mistreatment, with the promise from the
Reconstruction Amendments for a better life. By doing so, he tries to become friends with the boy,
ends up going home with him and then bad things happen. The dog would display strategic ability of a
high order, dodging, feinting and scuttling about among the furniture. He could force three or four
people armed with brooms, sticks, and handfuls of coal, to use all their ingenuity to get in a blow. And
even when they did, it was seldom that they could do him a serious injury or leave an imprint. The
themes of subjugation and submission are portrayed in which the stray dogs are like recently freed
slaves. They both don t know the value of their freedom nor do they acknowledge that they are
supposed to be treated well, whether they are animals or human beings. They tolerate cruelty while
seeking affection and they have hope that conditions will improve.
The little boy who is the dynamic character in the story represents the new generation of southerners
who are attempting to treat African Americans as equals since they were no longer slaves. Although
they had good intentions to attempt to protect African Americans, they haven t developed enough to
the point where they could offer a safe and nurturing environment. However, as Crane insinuates his
story, the little boy

In Films And Television, There Are Many Different Ways
In films and television, there are many different ways the filmmakers choose to create their films to be
hegemonic or counter hegemonic. For an example, the movie The Blind Side is created to remove
stereotypes focused around race and economic class. In many movies and television shows, writers
challenge stereotypes and use counter hegemony to remove stereotypes around social groups like race
and economic class.
There are many articles that talk about race and social class in movies. One article is, How The Blind
Side Blinds Us: Post racism and the American Dream by Jeffery Bineham. This article mentions how
the movie fights against racism. The author of this article explains how this film uses counter
hegemony to display public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within the movie The Blind Side there are many different ways that the film writers challenge
hegemonic beliefs. For example, one of the main characters in the movie is an upper class southern
white woman. The women adopted a low class large black man, which represents the removal of
stereotypes around upper class southerners being racists towards blacks. The women s friends
challenged her with stereotypes comments. The friends comment saying that she should not be taking
in any black men into her house. They say he is going to steal her belongs to sell them because he is a
poor black man, which reinforces the stereotypes around poor black men. There are racial and
economic class stereotypes in the south because of the southern history of slavery. The woman
removes the stereotypes with her acts in the movie, which shows how the movie represents counter
hegemony.
The Blind Side represents counter hegemony in many different ways. Following the example
previously stated the filmmakers remove the stereotype of black people are only good at sports . In the
movie, the high class, white women adopted the low class black man. The man was recruited to play
football by the high school coach, and then by colleges. He was a large black male, which fits the
stereotype of black football players. The movie shows the stereotype representing that he is only good
at football and not academics. His grades were very low, and he was told he wouldn t get into college.

The Music Of Elvis Presley
There were plenty of music coming out and showing up in the 1960 s. It was time; time for a new
form of music, a new sound, it was time for a revolution. There were all types of music being played
and new music being formed. There were all sorts of bands playing different kinds of music and
playing with their own styles while taking over the airwaves. Whether it be rock, soul, or any other
type of music, it was a revolution. This also led to new bands forming and breaking into the industry.
In the sixties rock music comes of age and dominates the popular music charts. Elvis Presley
continued to score hits in the early part of the decade, but the music continued to diversify with the
folk revival, the Brill Building sound, Phil Spector s wall of sound, girl groups and surf music, all
impacting the early part of the decade. The Motown, Stax and Atlantic labels bring more African
American artists back to the forefront of the pop charts. By 1964 American artists are sharing the top
of the charts with U.K. bands led by great bands like the Beatles and The Rolling Stones. In the U.S.
garage bands emerge, inspired by the British Invasion sound.
There were many bands that were ruling the airwaves and even just beginning and making their name
in the music industry. From the Beatles to Led Zeppelin, all the way to Black Sabbath in the category
of Rock. Songs ranging from Hey Jude to Whole Lotta Love . In Soul/Motown; the Temptations to

In today s era, we depend a lot on technology and the internet. For daily things such as school, work,

positive or negative contribution. In the book, The Shallows: What the internet is doing to our brains,

is too difficult. Even if the phones, computers, or any form of tech is put away, we will find a new

Tattoo History
The beginning of the modern history of the tattoo can be dated back to 1769, when the term tattoo was
first introduced into the English language. British explorer, Captain James Cook, had traveled to
Polynesia and observed Tahitians practicing tattowing. In his account, the men and women of Tahiti
painted their bodies by imbedding black color under their skin, in such a manner as to be indelible...
(Perzanowski 2013). Even though Cook s account of the practice was recorded in his account, the first
written reference of the word tattoo resides in the journal of Joseph Banks, the botanist and naturalist

Most prospective tattoo artists learn through first hand experience by an apprenticeship at a specific
shop. They often begin tattooing simple flash designs and progressively develop their artistic skills for
more custom ones. Because these apprentices work under the supervision of a well qualified tattoo

The tradition has accepted and incorporated the ever changing icons and trends as time continues to
pass. However, at the same time originality and creativity also continue to be a theme that is sought
after. Even with the development of custom tattooing, traditional themes are still prevalent in today s
tattooing society. The modern and popular interest in tattooing has attracted numerous artists, some of
whom were trained at prestigious art institutes (Velliquette, Murray, and Creyer 1998). The Tattoo

In September 2014, the European Court of Justice delivered a judgment on Groupement des Cartes
Bancaires v. European Commission. This case was initially decided on by the commission, and then
appealed to the General Court of the European Union. When the General Court dismissed the appeal,
it appealed to the European Court of Justice (ECJ). After hearing the opinion given by Advocate
General N. Wahl (AG Wahl), the ECJ made a decision to quash the General Court s decision. The case

Another example is when those in a social group have preferences or choices differ from the rest of

Methodological Individualism
In the social sciences, an endless debate is ongoing involving fundamental issues pertaining between
methodological individualism and methodological holism. The reason this is such a deep rooted
heated debate amongst researchers is the fact that it touches upon our most deeply seated beliefs about
the nature of the individual and of society, our knowledge about these, and the idea of a good society
(Udehn, 2002). According to Parsons (1937) methodological individualism is a claim in social
phenomena which must be explained by showing how these results from individual actions, which in
turn must be explained through reference to the intentional states that motivate the individual actors.
Simply put, it is the claim that explanations of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following economist Mark Blaug (1992), he believed that the effect to rule out the macro propositions
that could not be reduced to the micro would mean that all research using the implication of the macro
would have devastating effects for society, thus there must be something wrong with this
methodological principle. What is then majorly argued by theorist against methodological
individualism is the fact that working on theories based on an infinite amount of possibilities could
come up with an infinite amount of conclusions, thus never coming to the route of the issue at hand.
Secondly, much research conducted on the macro , which has not been able to be explained in terms of
micro , has been used by researchers with great success for society as a whole, however if the
methodological individualism model is correct, all of that research would be rejected, and since no one
is willing to throw out good research, there is a problem with methodological individualism. Although
methodological individualism is based on an infinite amount of possibilities, Mises (1998) writes,
society is not a sui generis entity; there is I and you and Bill and Joe and all the rest. From a
methodological individualism viewpoint, collective nouns describing social phenomena do not refer to
independent substances. The idea the methodological individualism develops a reductionist

issues and mental illnesses. This essay will explore sociological explanations to understand and draw
conclusions on why the sexualisation of culture has and continues to occur today. I will explore
feminism and how it has influenced sexualisation of culture today and how pornography has
influenced todays pornification problems.
One sociological explanation for this is that of a multitude of factors related to that of feminism. In the
mid 1970s child abuse was brought to public eye by a group of second wave feminists also known as
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the most significant of the factors that laid the ground for shift of sexualisation to become a
recognised social issue from its former clinical term (Fredrickson 1992).
However, positioning the innocence of a child to symbolise femininity began to counter benefit the
movement by setting the tone for the return of traditional family values. For example, the innocent girl
was remobilized to attack the legalization of child abortion, a goal that feminists had achieved years
earlier. This debacle however did provide the ideal social conditions for today s sexualisation problem
to be identified as in 1981 journalists were beginning to investigate the sudden sexualisation of young
females. Sexualisation being used to describe mal socialization which in fact separates children from
their natural essence causing premature entry in adult forms of sexual subjectivity. For example, that
of play makeup for girls (Schiro 1981).
Another sociological explanation that is provided for the pornification of media today is that of the
evolution of porn. Pornographic content has always been in existence with our culture with prehistoric
rock art dated before civilisation depicting sexual acts. This can also be seen in art work during the
Victorian era such as that of the painting by Édouard Manet titled Olympia which was a nude picture
of a French courtesan which

Nature in Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birth-Mark and Wilfred...
Freedom is an entity that people desire to have in life. Nathaniel Hawthorne in The Birth Mark and
Wilfred Owens in Disabled both have similar plots about two peoples concern for nature. Nathaniel
Hawthorne The Birth Mark focuses on the importance of nature. In the story The Birth Mark, nature is
said to be the most compelling thing man has made. The main character Aylmer, a scientist, is
obsessed with perfection and nature. Aylmer is trying to live a life of fantasy because of his desire for
perfection. In addition, Aylmer marries a woman by the name of Georgiana. Georgiana is a high
spirited woman who has one imperfection, the red birth mark on her left cheek. Aylmer desires to have
a perfect wife. Aylmer believes he can fix his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both of the stories use nature to make a valid point. Nathaniel Hawthorne uses nature to talk about his
wife s birth mark. Aylmer thinks his wife birth mark is interrupting the nature of man. Similar to the
poem Disabled, the poet believes that war interrupts nature. For example, when people think of the
sun, the sun helps facilitates man s growth. The sun is a force that guides the universe. The poet
believes that war disrupts nature s concern with life and death. Nature needs to take its course in the
world. During World War I, many soldiers were losing their life as a result of the war. Throughout the
poem, nature represents commotion. The narrator shows the side of nature by stating, And half his
lifetime lapsed in the hot race (Owens 898). The poet assumes he spent half of his life in tremulous
memories that almost cost him his life. As a result, the poet believes that war interrupts nature course
of life. According to Daniel Pigg, The touch itself redefines his nature and renders him as other,
separate and distinct (). Pigg reveals war interrupts nature. Similar to The Birth Mark Georgiana s
cheek symbolizes nature. In the story, Aylmer talks about the nature by muttering It was the fatal flaw
of humanity which nature, in one shape or another, stamps ineffaceably on all her productions, either
to imply that they are temporary a finite, or that their perfection must be wrought by toil and pain
(Hawthorne 314). Georgiana birth mark causes

Spiritual Reflection
I have been into the practicum for over a month now. It is beneficial for me to reflect on my learning
and practice in the past few weeks in the areas of class reading and teaching, triads, meeting with
directees in sessions and supervision. My class reading and teaching in the last few weeks provide me
with a solid idea about spiritual direction. My understanding is that in the spiritual direction session,
the director is to listen to on an ongoing conversation between the directee and God. The Holy Spirit
has already been working in the life of directee before the session and will continue to be at work after
the session is over. The emphasis of spiritual direction will be to enhance the relationship between the
directee and God. In a spiritual direction session, typical questions asked are Where is God in this? or
Where has God gone and why don t I sense any divine presence at all? I learn to know that spiritual
direction arises out of inviting and listening to God. One thing I am in tension with myself and need to
be reminded constantly is that I should not have the attitude or expectation to resolve the issue
mentioned in the session. The focus of the session should be about what goes on between the directee
and God. The triad experiences help me to put my learning into practice and they build my confidence
in carrying out sessions. Those questions raised in the triads on reflecting the experience of spiritual
direction help me to be aware of my

Analysis of The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost Essay
Thesis Robert Frosts The Road Not Taken is more symbolic of a choice one must make in their life in
attempt to foresee the outcome before reaching the end, than it is about choosing the right path in the
woods. Describe the literal scene and situation. The literal scene of Robert Frost s The Road Not
Taken, is described as a yellowed wood (Arp Johnson, 2009). Use of this description could be that fall
is upon the wood or the trees perhaps once white have yellowed with age. Before the traveler is a road
split into two different directions, he has no idea where each road leads. In trying to imagine, where
each one might lead he tries to look down each path (Arp Johnson, 2009), but to no avail as he can
only see as far as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It could just be symbolic for a choice that he must make in his life. As college students, our road is
what major we will choose and this will help decide the outcome of our future. When one decides to
follow God a divided path becomes the focus of our lives, do we continue down the path we have
been on our whole lives, and is well known but will surely lead to death? On the other hand, do we
choose the path God would have us take not only changing our lives, but in the end instead of an
eternity spent in the cold grip of death, we find eternal life? Why does the title emphasize the road not
taken? The emphasis on the road not taken is Frost s way of making us think as we read this poem that
no matter which way the speaker chose to go a road would always stay not taken. The speaker
intended to complete his journey on the chosen path, then at another time go back, and take the other
direction. What are the rhythm patterns that Frost uses in the poem (include the scansion and technical
methods: alliteration, assonance, and consonance)? Frost uses both masculine rhyme and end rhyme.
The masculine rhyme is the rhyming sounds that contain only one syllable such as wood, stood, and
should. The end rhyme pattern that Frost uses is, A, B, A, A, B C, D, C, C, D E, F, E, E, F and G, H,
G, G, H. (Arp Johnson, 2009). There are lines of this poem that show the alliteration method, two
examples are found in line 6 then took the , and line 8 wanted wear Assonance also

False Claims Act And Qui Tam Provisionss
This thesis is written to provide a historical and policy evaluative perspective on the topic of the False
Claims Act and it s Qui Tam provisions. The False Claims Act is a fairly old Act, dating back to 1863.
The Act was first enacted to fight procurement fraud but in recent years the focus has turned to health
care fraud. This thesis will seek to determine whether or not the False Claims Act and it s Qui Tam
provisions are an effective tool in fighting fraud, in particular health care fraud. The focus of this
thesis will be to evaluate the False Claims Act (FCA) and in particular its Qui Tam provisions. A
closer look will be taken at the emergence of a very lucrative type of fraud in the United States. This
type of fraud has only been on

Agamemnon Sympathy
In his play Agamemnon, Aeschylus initially invites the audience to sympathize with both
Clytemnestra and Cassandra. While the sympathy towards Cassandra remains throughout the play,
Clytemnestra s does not. Contradictorily, the audience is not invited to be sympathetic towards
Agamemnon in the beginning, but this changes over the course of the play.
At first, Aeschylus invites the audience to sympathize with Clytemnestra, but this changes as the play
progresses. In the beginning of Agamemnon, Clytemnestra emphasizes the fact that there had been a
multitude of rumors about the death of Agamemnon while he was at war. An audience typically feels
sympathy towards anyone who has a spouse out at war, and even more so when that person finds out

Cassandra can see her own future but no one believes her. She sees her impending death but can not
do anything to change it. Also, she can not tell anyone else of the events because they will not believe
her. The audience finds themselves imagining what he would do if they were Cassandra. Often, just
putting yourself in someone else s perspective forces you to somehow sympathize with him or her. As
she realizes that she is going to the House of Atreus, and yells words like manslaughter, butchery, and
blood (Page 42, Lines 1090 1093). These words have appalling connotations and the fact that these are
the words that she is using to describe her very near future creates sympathy towards Cassandra. She
then sees her own death and is completely helpless. This creates sympathy because generally if a
person sees their own death, especially being murdered, he or she would likely want to try to change
what is going to happen, but Cassandra cannot and the audience knows this and sympathizes with her.
She has to continue as seconds towards her death creep closer. Cassandra is helpless and the viewers
She is first taken as slave and then has to face death. The continuous sympathetic invitation that
Aeschylus creates contradicts the other two characters. This is to highlight the curse of the House of
Atreus not only affects the people directly involved but also the lives of the innocent. The curse begins
when Agamemnon kills Iphigenia which creates a cycle of murders that were justified by using
examples of other murders. This highlights the karmic drama of killing and the cycle that murder
creates; which leads to the idea of justice and how the situation needs to be

Autonomy Against Spain
In Negotiating Spain and Catalonia: Competing Narratives of National Identity, author Fernando Leon
Solis examines the various motivational factors for Catalonia s push for autonomy within Spain. The
author makes a compelling case as to how and why Catalonia is attempting to gain autonomy. Solis
believes that the main motivation for Catalonian autonomy is the conflict over the definition of
Catalan identity, which, Catalans believe, can only fully be established under regional autonomy. Solis
argues that if the Catalan National political party, Convergencia I Unio, can come to an agreement
with the majority party in parliament, Partido Popular, then Catalonia may receive regional autonomy.
Additionally, Solis believes that the Catalans are not seeking national independence, but rather they
wish for a high level of autonomy within Spain. It is important to ... Show more content on

Solis relies on journals, such as those found in La Vanguardia, to examine the positions of different
political currents. However, Solis s main flaw in his argument is that he does not provide readers with
enough information on the Spanish government structure. When addressing the importance of the
2000 election, Solis mentions how the Partido Popular chose to form a coalition with Convergencia I
Unio, even though they did not have to form such a government in order to form a majority in
parliament. Without a working knowledge of how a coalition government works, why it is formed and
how it is beneficial, the average reader may not be able to fully grasp the importance of the 2000
election. However, this is only a minor weakness. Ultimately, Solis is highly successful in laying out a
convincing argument and demonstrating why Catalonian people, who have a strong attachment to
their cultural identity, wish to gain autonomy within

Origin ( E.g Time, Place Of Beginnings )
Origin (e.g time, place of beginnings): The Inca was also known as Tawantinsuyu, first appeared in the
Andes region of South America throughout the 12th century A.D, the heterogeneous empire quickly
flourished through the military power of their emperors. They had their own culture and pantheist
beliefs up until 1438, however, the influences of past settlements and the following ninety five years
of expansion caused religious beliefs to change and develop significantly. The Inca conquered
neighbouring Andean regions which had their own set of religious beliefs, worshipped deities and had
unique practices. Nearly all Andean communities participated in the everyday worship of the forces of
nature (including rain, lightning, thunder, the moon and the rising of the sun each day) and venerated
the earth s physical features (such as snakes, jaguars, rivers and mountains). The peasants among each
allyu (a group of extended families) executed these practices for thousands of years. Each allyu
worshipped their ancestors, which they believed to originate from the natural world at sacred places
called huacas. The Incas built their own temples, sacred sites, took sacred relics from the locals and
held them in the sacred land Cuzco to encourage compliance with the Inca beliefs and accept the
supremacy of Inti (the most important Inca deity and sun god). Instead of forcing them to completely
convert to the Inca state religion, the Incas assimilated the deities, beliefs and culture of

The History Of Ethnography
Movies are stupendous sources of entertainment, and have been since the nineteenth century. In the
year eighteen eighty eight Thomas Edison, the wonderful inventor of the electric bulb and the
phonograph decided to construct machines for producing and displaying moving photographs. With
the assistance of W.L.K Dickson, Thomas began analyzing and altering the phonograph to make rows
of small pictures on similar cylinders. Any sound reproducing machine using records in the form of
cylinders or discs is a phonograph. ( Dictionary.com) Mr. Edison travels to Paris in eighteen eighty

should actively listen to her patients and show that she is listening through maintaining eye contact;
this helps with trust. She should also let the patient know that she is approachable. She needs to watch
expressions on her face and body language when communicating with patients. On the other hand, it is
still important for the nurse to be confident and decisive when it comes to her job in caring for these

The Jim Crow laws according to Pilgrim, was more than a series of rigid anti Black laws. It was a way
of life. (V.) These laws happened everyday for blacks and it formed into a way of life for them. Often
time s these laws were completely unjust and made Blacks have to work a lot harder in life or struggle
to get by in life. For instance A Black male could not offer his hand with a White male because it
implied that they were socially equal (Pilgrim). That law in general is outrageous and shows how the
White people thought of blacks and wanted them to be on the bottom of the totem pole. There were
some reasons that these laws were put into place and enforced. One of these was because doctors said
that they were inferior to whites. Whites

the way in which they are governed. An organisational structure is the process of arranging people and
other resources to work together to accomplish a goal (Schermerhorn, 2011). However, what happens

However, the Valve Steams Ahead case study shows that Valve Software does not have an

handbook that is administered to each new employee. This handbook describes how the structure
works, picking your own projects, office hours, peer reviews, steps taken after your first 6 months,
hiring new staff and the weaknesses of the company (Handbook for New Employees). This lack of
structure within the company makes it hard for people to develop mentors and become accustomed to
the social aspects of the company which is only translated through existing employees. This affects the
hiring of new staff as some talented people who are perfect for the organisation prefer to work within
a formal organisational structure. Recommendations In order for Valve Software to improve their
hiring of new staff and the initial training and development of employees, a few steps must be taken
which are modified from formal organisational structures. Firstly, regarding the hiring of new staff,

Importance Of Family Relationships
The connection of various individual by marriage, blood, etc are considered as family relationships.
Moreover, these connections are considered to be the most important building block for the
comprehensive development of individuals in our society. Family relationships, whether they may be
harmonious or disruptive, serves as an important driving force for all individuals interactions in the
outside world. While, these relationships may either be destructive or harmonious, they promote the
transmission of good behaviours, cultural influences and other specific ways of life from the older to
the younger members of the family unit. Harmonious relationships are more pleasing and consistently
allows members of the family to feel more comfortable. Also, a strong bond is formed among the
family members. On the other hand, destructive family relationships builds and maintain tension
between the individuals, which ultimately prevents the proper transfer of good values and attitudes to
the members. This type of relationship can be directly attributed to the future problems faced by

The Disease of Alcoholism Essay
The Disease of Alcoholism
Alcoholism is a primary, chronic disease with genetic, psychosocial, and environmental factors
influencing its development and manifestations. The disease is often progressive and fatal. Alcoholism
is a complex disease with physical, social and psychological consequences, but it can be treated
through detoxification and anti anxiety drugs. What will be explained in this essay is basically the
history of alcohol, signs of one possibly being an alcoholic, possibilities to why one becomes an

In the past, alcoholism was often viewed as a moral weakness or character flaw; it was thought that

The APA manual distinguishes between alcoholism and alcohol abuse. The latter is a less severe
problem; unlike alcoholics, alcohol abusers do not develop physical withdrawal or compulsive alcohol
use. However, like alcoholics, their drinking has negative health, economic and social effects. Both
alcoholics and alcohol abusers need treatment, although the goals differ. In most cases of alcohol
abuse, the goal is to limit drinking, while for alcoholism, it is to stop drinking altogether.
Why some people become alcoholics remains a mystery, although most scientists now agree that a
combination of genetic and environmental factors increases a person s vulnerability.
Based on the results of Swedish adoption studies, some researchers divide alcoholism into two types.
Type I, the most common, occurs in both men and women and is associated with adult onset alcohol
dependence. This form, also known as milieu limited alcoholism, appears to be the result of genetic
predisposition and environmental provocation, according to NIAAA s 1991 publication Alcohol
Research: Promise for the Decade that is, the development of alcoholism in these cases is an
interaction between inherited predisposition and the person s life situations.
Type II, or male limited, alcoholism, on the other hand, is due mainly to genetics. It occurs only in
men, usually with early onset in the teen years, and is more difficult to

  • 2. Taking a Look at Property Contractual Law Q1. Citing case law (English or Irish), discuss three essential elements that should be complied with to ensure that a tenant can properly exercise a break clause in a lease of a commercial property. (50 marks) A1. A Break clause allows a tenant to terminate his/her lease early, usually subject to certain conditions which allows the tenant to react to the market conditions if they want to upsize, downsize or the property has just become unaffordable. However exercising a break clause can be tricky and very risky because getting it wrong usually means losing the brake clause and then the lease continues which can end up being more expensive than if you just continued the lease. Three essential elements that are complied with to ensure that a tenant can properly exercise a break clause in the lease of a commercial property are: 1. Is to include in the lease periodic break clause options to be exercised by the tenant only e.g. a break in the year five, ten and fifteen of a twenty year lease. 2. In the event that the landlord either, (A) the tenant goes bankrupt or goes into receivership, (B) the bank repossess or (C) a change of ownership that potently could cause conflict i.e. selling the property to a competitor. 3. In the event where the landlord applies to fundamentally change the property or the planning e.g. seeks to carry out major refurbishments that would cause disruption to trade. Similar actions have arisen from the Irish courts with the case O Brien vs. BT ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Disinfectant Lab Report Our science experiment was to try and figure out which disinfectant was the most effective on killing bacteria. We chose seven different disinfectants and tested them on gram positive and gram negative bacteria to see which would have the largest zone of inhibition after 23 hours in an incubator at 28 degrees. This experiment taught me a lot of useful things for the future such as what the most effective way of cleaning is. We decided to do this project because we wanted to know if what people used to clean their houses was really doing the job. For our science experiment, we tested household disinfectants against gram positive, and gram negative bacteria. To begin with, one of the main differences between gram positive and gram negative bacteria is the structural differences in their cell walls. Gram negative has an inner membrane, a small layer of peptidoglycan (which is a substance that forms in most bacteria that acts as a back bone to the cell wall giving it strength), then another membrane and the cell wall. The peptidoglycan is sandwiched between two lipid (fat) layers. Gram positive bacteria have just peptidoglycan but they have a lot of it making them stronger. Secondly, the gram in gram positive and gram negative refers to how a bacterium reacts to a gram stain. To ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My first point is that without the use of disinfectants, there would be germs absolutely everywhere. From doorknobs to table counters, germs and endless bacteria would take over. Next, with all of these germs out in the air and on all surfaces, infection and sickness would spread like wildfire. Even though there are medication to cure infection and disease, we would need great amounts to help many people. In conclusion, we would all be inevitably doomed. Infection and disease would eventually take over without disinfectants leaving nothing. The use of disinfectants is extremely important because without it everyone would be very ... • 4. Body Image And Self Esteem One may stand in front of the mirror and pick at every aspect of their bodies. My hair is too poofy. Wow, I need to lose some weight. My nose is too big on my face. I wish I wasn t so wide. Does that sound familiar? Our viewpoint on our body images and our self esteem can influence our feelings, thoughts and behaviors. The overall definition of self esteem is an individual s emotional evaluation on his or hers own worth. Although low self esteem is not a mental health problem, but the two are closely related. Everyone is affected differently by low self esteem. Today, to young people, the likes on their photos, posts and comments brings a sense of accomplishment and acceptance. In a survey, 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies and their weight so they resort to dieting to achieve the ideal body shape. On the downside, only 5% of women actually have the body shape that is shown in American media. We see photos of beautiful humans every day. When we walk down the street and see all of the ads scattered on buildings and billboards with beautiful people on them. We see pictures of them on social medias like Facebook, Instagram and even Twitter. These medias have became an important part of our lives. On these medias, beauty is based upon 0.05 percent of the population and we look at it 97 percent of the time (How the Media Shapes the Way We See Ourselves, pp. 5) By the time that a typical girl is 17, she has seen 250,000 commercials stating that they should be a ... • 6. Dentist Admissions Essay As a human being, and raised up in a doctor s family, I have always considered myself to have an inclination towards helping my community. My outlook towards helping others evolved into a duty after my own personal interaction with my orthodontist and the accreditation she holds for giving me a beautiful smile, emerged the idea of pursuing my career as a dentist. To gain an intuitive understanding of this field, I got enrolled in a 4 year dental graduate program. I believe and know, that the United States is in lead of having the best quality of healthcare providers and treating their people with the leading edge facilities and advanced therapies that are yet to be utilized elsewhere. I want to represent the States in my home country with the best knowledge and skills, and provide my help to the people anywhere I am given a fortuity to fulfill my responsibility. I am very optimistic about seeing myself as a practicing oral and maxillofacial surgeon seven or nine years from now, having the highest dental care standards, volunteering at dental camps, providing education and being a part of research projects leading to the unseen and compelling future of dentistry. I know the path I am opting for, will be laborious and grueling. But, I also agree with it, to not be unworkable. If life gives me a second chance, I anticipate myself of becoming an even better dentist and consider it a stroke of fortune, because this is what makes me the person I am today and this is what I have always wanted to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 1905 was Einstein s miracle year. In March of that year, he sent to the Annalen der Physik, the leading German physics journal, a paper with a new understanding of the structure of light. He argued that light acts as though is consists of independent particles of energy. Einstein built on Max Planck s work and went beyond this. He showed that light quanta could help to explain phenomena being studied by experimental physicists; he made clear how light ejects electrons from metals. In May of 1905, Einstein submitted another paper that reinforced the kinetic energy theory. His Special Theory of Relativity was born; Einstein submitted yet another paper in June of 1905 on electromagnetism and motion. Since Galileo and Newton, physicists had known that laboratory experiments never revealed a difference between an object at rest and an object moving at a constant speed along a straight line. Objects behave the same way on a uniformly moving ship as they do on an anchored ship; this is the Principle of Relativity. However, according to the electromagnetic theory, light should not obey this principle. This theory predicted that measurements on velociy of light would show the effects of motion. Yet, no such effect had been detected in any experiments the velocity of light did not vary. Einstein found a way to show that the Principle of Relativity was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Symbolism In A Dark Brown Dog By Stephen Crane What would society be like if we saw the world through a dog s eyes? A black and white world, with no judging based on one s pigmentation. A world where interactions between human beings were genuine and meaningful. A place where one s skin color does not determine goodness or badness or make one better than, or worse than. A dog cannot simply distinguish the difference between a good human being and a bad one based on color, for which they only pay attention to how they are treated and the kindness shown from that individual. If dogs could figure this out, why can t we? A short story written by Stephen Crane in 1893 portrays this mindset of society shortly after slavery was abolished in the United States. By doing so, he tries to become friends with the boy, ends up going home with him and then bad things happen. The dog would display strategic ability of a high order, dodging, feinting and scuttling about among the furniture. He could force three or four people armed with brooms, sticks, and handfuls of coal, to use all their ingenuity to get in a blow. And even when they did, it was seldom that they could do him a serious injury or leave an imprint. The themes of subjugation and submission are portrayed in which the stray dogs are like recently freed slaves. They both don t know the value of their freedom nor do they acknowledge that they are supposed to be treated well, whether they are animals or human beings. They tolerate cruelty while seeking affection and they have hope that conditions will improve. The little boy who is the dynamic character in the story represents the new generation of southerners who are attempting to treat African Americans as equals since they were no longer slaves. Although they had good intentions to attempt to protect African Americans, they haven t developed enough to the point where they could offer a safe and nurturing environment. Following economist Mark Blaug (1992), he believed that the effect to rule out the macro propositions that could not be reduced to the micro would mean that all research using the implication of the macro would have devastating effects for society, thus there must be something wrong with this methodological principle. What is then majorly argued by theorist against methodological individualism is the fact that working on theories based on an infinite amount of possibilities could come up with an infinite amount of conclusions, thus never coming to the route of the issue at hand. Secondly, much research conducted on the macro , which has not been able to be explained in terms of micro , has been used by researchers with great success for society as a whole, however if the methodological individualism model is correct, all of that research would be rejected, and since no one is willing to throw out good research, there is a problem with methodological individualism. Although methodological individualism is based on an infinite amount of possibilities, Mises (1998) writes, society is not a sui generis entity; there is I and you and Bill and Joe and all the rest. For example, the innocent girl was remobilized to attack the legalization of child abortion, a goal that feminists had achieved years earlier. This debacle however did provide the ideal social conditions for today s sexualisation problem to be identified as in 1981 journalists were beginning to investigate the sudden sexualisation of young females. Sexualisation being used to describe mal socialization which in fact separates children from their natural essence causing premature entry in adult forms of sexual subjectivity.
