Compare And Contrast Determinism And Free Will
Determinism and free will are regarded as two opposite sides, because most people think that they
are incompatible with each other. But actually they are not. Determinism draws a picture of
causality in the frame of laws of nature. That is to say, every event has a cause. From deterministic
point of view, free willis uncaused, so it rejects free will completely. On the other hand, opponents
of free will reject determinism. However, there is a third option, a softer way to solve free will
problem, namely, compatibilism. I believe compatibilism is a better way because it offers a
solution which should be taken into acount. To understand what compatibilism is, first, I need to
explain what determinism and free will are briefly. Free will is the ability to make choice by
taking moral responsibility. Causal determinism is that every event has cause and effect in the light
of laws of nature. According to incompatibilism, these two term are opposite of each other.
However, compatibilism doesn t regard free will and determinism as opposite sides. According to
compatibilism, both determinism and free will are consistent with each other. Because free will...

That is, all that existince is material world. So, material causes for every event and every event
follows necessarily from it causes. As materialism takes a side in determinism, dualism support
existence of free will, because dualism assumes that mind is independent from laws of nature.
Some libertarians claim that we have souls which are nonphysical and independent from laws of
nature, which have similar aspects with dualism. To illustrate, Descartes well known sentence
Cogito ergo sum is based on thinking which accepts mind as separate from body. In other words,
mind doesn t belong the world of laws of nature. The contrast between determinism and free will is
supported by other beliefs such as dualism and materialism, as

Assignment 1.1 Personal Power Profile
The assessment that I chose for this assignment was from the box 5.1 Personal Power Profile.
This assessment is composed of a list of statements that describe possible behaviors of leaders in
work organizations. The end results are based on the response for each item. For example,
strongly disagree is equal to 1 point, disagree is equal to 2 points, neither agree nor disagree is
equal to 3 points, agree is equal to 4 points and strongly agree is equal to 5 points. Consequently, I
end up with more points on referent power4.5, followed by legitimate power 4.0, and expert power
4.0.
Referent power is role model power. This type of power depends on feelings of affection, esteem,
and respect for another individual. The benefits of this type ... Show more content on

The amount of legitimate power someone has depends on the importance of the position she or he
occupies and the willingness to grant authority to the person in that position. The benefits of this
type of power are that incorporates weight of the entire organization, effective for gaining
obedience, helps large organizations function effectively. The costs are that lowers follower task
performance, lowers follower task satisfaction, and may become less effective overtime.
Expert power is based on the person, not on the position. This type of power influences people
because leaders supply needed information and skills.
What have you learned from completing this exercise? What I learned about this exercise is that I
confirmed my leadership style. I like to practice what I preach, as I do not expect others to do
what I do not do. I treat others with respect and courtesy, all the time, no matter what! I think that
honesty is the best policy, so I like to keep my team inform, and I do not pretend to have all of the
answers, I do apologize if I make a mistake. Gaining followers trust is most important to me, so I
always make sure that I communicate with them with valid/proven facts. However, I think that the
legitimate power comes into play when it s about bossing around people about their duties and

Disneyland and its Offerings
This is the place where every kid begs to go. This is the place where adults enjoy going also. It s
the place where dreams come true , Disneyland. Located in Anaheim, California, this popular
amusement park is known all over the world for its entertainment, park rides, Disney characters,
and so much more. Here, children laugh and play while adults enjoy tours or spend the day at the
spa. Either way, both parties will experience the time of their lives. There is so much scenery for
the eyes to enjoy here. From the bright lights, to the extravagant decorations, and to the tall castle
buildings; its elaborate factors cease to exist. This is what sets Disneyland apart from its fellow
amusement parks. The park continues to grow with new things each year. There are so many
awesome things that Disneyland rewards us with.
This tourist attraction was founded by Walt Disney in 1955 (Disneyland Amusement Park). When
this amusement park was first created it wasn t like other amusement parks at the time. Unlike
traditional parks, Walt Disney had a vision of not just having rides but making it a place where
Disneyland is known for its entertainment also. Walt Disney was a cartoon genius (Disneyland
Amusement Park). A lot of his works, most popular being Mickey Mouse, were brought into the
theme of the park. Bringing cartoons like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the amusement
park brought in joy. While walking through the park one may encounter costumes of, Tinker Bell
and other Disney characters. For children and adults, seeing these cartoon characters depicted in
real life, reminds one of happier times. This stood as a trademark for Disneyland. An atmosphere
of optimism, patriotism, and fun are three of the many goals Walt Disney set to achieve
(Disneyland s History). With this in mind things needed to be fixed and changes needed to be
made. When the parked opened up in 1955, there were many speculations that the heavy investment
Disney put in to the park would not be beneficial in return (Disneyland Amusement Park). Walt
Disney spent a lot of money on his vision. Disney projected that he would need eleven

The Trade Organization ( Wto )
The WTO Each country has their own legal framework for internal trade. Goods that we use
everyday, have levels as made in China or Thailand or somewhere on this globe, so how do they
end up in America? This has been made possible through the WTO. The World Trade Organization
(WTO) is the main institute which manages the international trade. It is created to reduce trade
barriers across international borders to contribute to economic growth and development. It s main
purpose is to increase the well being and standards of living of the citizens. It is mainly conducted
by WTO agreements. The WTO has law and regulation for implementation and monitoring the
agreements between countries. Legal documents are signed between trading nations act as contract.
Group called Ministerial Conference solves disagreements between WTO members, There are
several groups within the WTO, with the highest decision making authority going to a group known
as the Ministerial Conference, which can make decisions on all matters and trade disputes among
members. (The World Trade Organization: Definition, History, Purpose Members) In 1948, few
years after second world war General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade
(GATT) was created to
provide a stable international trade and international economic unity.
GAAT was created to lower the trade barriers and Tariff. Members of GATT wanted to make

Effective Use Of Emotions In The Film My Girl
Emotions are an important part of the human being life. When humans express their emotions, they
are displaying everyone else how they really feel about the current situation. Emotions are a big
stitching to the quilt of shared humanity. When humans share their emotions, they find other
humans who are also having these same emotions. Emotions allow humans to show how they are
feelingabout an event or situation and allow others to understand how they are feeling as well.
The movie My Girl is an excellent example of emotions being used to show how someone feels
about a situation. Vada Sultenfuss is a eleven year old girl. Vada has lived an unusual lifestyle her

Presentation on DNA Vaccines Essay
Vaccines
Vaccines are one of the greatest achievements of modern medicine
In developed nations, vaccines have almost exterminated polio and smallpox and tightly controlled
diseases like hepatitis A and B or typhus
There are three generations of vaccinations
First generation vaccines are either weakened or killed forms of whole organisms
There is a problem with first gen vaccines: the pathogens can still revert to dangerous forms and
cause diseases in immunocompromised vaccine recipients.
Second generation vaccines are specific protein antigens, which are safer, but cannot generate killer

Delivery methods
There are currently two widely used methods of delivering DNA vaccines: injection or gene gun
In an injection, as much as 100 to 200 microliters of DNA are injected directly into muscle tissue
Muscle tissue is inefficient as an uptake site, so more DNA is needed to ensure that enough
plasmids are taken into host cells
Delivery Methods Continued
In the gene gun method, as little as sixteen nanograms of DNA are fired directly into the abdominal
epidermis
This method needs so little DNA because the DNA is directly bombarded into individual cells.
The gene gun delivery method is essentially an air gun that fires microscopic heavy metal particles
(such as gold or lead) covered with plasmid DNA
Delivery Methods Continued
Other, less common delivery methods include
Aerosol sprays on nasal or lung mucosa
Topical administration to the eye
Liposome mediated delivery
Attenuated Shigella or Listeria vectors for oral administration to the intestinal mucosa
Recombinant Adenovirus vectors

Expectations Drive Perceptions By Annie Dillard
Expectations Drive Perceptions Annie Dillard, in her essay, Seeing, describes how each
individual sees and perceives differently. Dillard explains how a certain individual may see
something completely different than another. Each and every individual perceives situations and
views in their own way, depending on their expectations, their backgrounds, their experiences,
and their attitudes. When an individual expects to see something, typically that is what they see.
Because they are generally focused on seeing what they expect, the individual doesn t see or
notice the small things that are often important. One specific example of different perceptions is
school. Students perceive school in various ways, depending on what they expect. The thought
or action of going to school is perceived in various ways, depending on an individual s
expectations. Because they expect opportunities and rewards to come out of school, some
students perceive school as a wonderful place to be. To illustrate, Annie Dillard, in her essay,
Seeing, explains how expectations affect how a person sees, But if you cultivate a healthy poverty
and simplicity, so that finding a penny will literally make your day, then, since the world is in fact
planted in pennies, you have with your poverty bought a lifetime of days (Dillard 17). Dillard
means that if an individual expects the penny to contribute to their attitude or life, then it will. But,
if an individual expects the penny to be worthless, then it

Fugality Research Paper
The Order Behind Frugality Both Kemmu shikimoku, issued by the Ashikaga bakufu in 1336, and
the Code for the Warrior Households, issued by the Tokugawa bafuku in 1615, stipulated that it
was indispensable to practice frugality. Both Ashikaga bakufu and Tokugawa bafuku were new
regimes when they promulgated these two legal documents. While at first glance, these two legal
documents might seem to share similar attitudes toward frugality, in fact, they were different in
nature. In this paper, I would like to compare Kemmu shikimoku (1336) and the Code for the
Warrior Households (1615), by first closely examining the details of these two frugality laws and
then speculating their motivations for issuing the frugality law. In so doing, I wish to... Show more

Both legal documents resorted to classics and tradition as justification. For instance, in Kemmu
shikimoku, the author confessed that he had selected the teachings of Japan and China, past and
present (Grossberg, 22). Likewise, at the end of the Code for the Warrior Households, it stated that
This is the clear admonition of the wise men of old (Wm. Theodore et al., 14). Such references to
history and tradition were necessary, since both Ashikaga bakufu and Tokugawa bakufu were newly
founded, when Kemmu shikimoku and the Code for the Warrior Households were issued
respectively. While both regimes solidified their legitimacy by embracing the history, their
fundamental governing ideologies had changed. On the one hand, the authors of Kemmu
shikimoku still regarded virtue as the most important thing for the government. It said in Kemmu
shikimoku that The [Chinese] classics say that virtue is good government, and government rests in
the security of the people. The Shogun should bring a speedy end to the people s suffering.
(Grossberg, 16). Therefore, Kemmu shikimoku stipulated the frugality law in order to bring a
speedy end to poverty that resulted from basara, the ostentatious display (Grossberg, 16). The ideal

In his study, Jeong (2016) found an important strength of Google Drive was its cultivation of
collaborative learning and construction of collective knowledge. This was crucial to students
educational experience because it provided another outlet for peer interactions and the
distribution of knowledge (Jeong, 2016). Jeong (2016) discovered 90% of students appreciated
the Google Drive platform for the ways in which it enhanced active communication, autonomous
class participation, mutual collaboration, and dynamic classroom interaction (Jeong, 2016, p. 1).
When students are satisfied or perceive learning tools in a positive manner, they are more likely
to be motivated to use them in an effective way (Jeong, 2016). Further, Tan and Yongbeom (2011)
examined how well Google Docs facilitates group or organizational collaboration through its
ability to allow users to work asynchronously. They concluded when using Google Docs for a
group project, the perceived usefulness was statistically significant and positively affected
satisfaction, a factor which has a strong influence on the continued use of the application (Tan and

(1989) found students perceptions of how manageable Google applications were correlated with
current and future usage. The performance and benefits

Paris Peace Conference Vs Treaty Of Versailles
During the Paris Peace Conference, there were many different approaches how to create an
effective solution after the conflicts of the war. Georges Clemenceau of France, who had also
served during the French defeat in the Franco Prussian War, wanted revenge on Germany by
humiliating the country. The actions of the British representative, David Lloyd George, were
driven purely by self interest, and the Italian representative, Vittorio Orlando, was greedy in his
pursuit to acquire colonies. However, the representative from the United States, President Wilson,
sought to create a plan that would create a fair peace. Wilson felt that it was essential to create a
proposal that would establish a liberal structure of peace to prevent major European powers from
engaging in further conflict over issues such as colonies. The plan that President Wilson designed,
called the Fourteen Points, outlined multiple objectives. First, the... Show more content on

The final plan of the Conference, the Treaty of Versailles, was much different from Wilson s
Fourteen Points. Wilson s plan called for a just peace and prevent future wars, whereas the Treaty
of Versailles called for punishing Germany. The major points of the Treaty included Germany
losing one tenth of its land, Germany having to downsize their army and disband their navy and
airforce altogether, Germany paying reparations that would cripple its economy, and Germany
having to admit that they were the cause of World War I. These points would allow for the rise of
fascist powers in Italy and Germany, eventually leading to the outbreak of World War II. However,
one success of Wilson s plan was Point 14, which led to the creation of the League of Nations, a
group of nations that would meet to prevent conflict and preserve peace. Overall, the Fourteen

How Did Isaac Newton Contribute To Physics
Born on January 4th, 1643 in Woolsthorpe, England, Isaac Newton was an established
mathematician and physician. He is credited as one of the greatest minds of the 17th century
Scientific Revolution. With his discoveries in optics, motion, and mathematics, Newton developed
the principles of modern physics. He also shares credit with Gottfried Leibniz for the creation
/development of Calculus.
In 1666, Newton began contributing to the field of optics, first by observing that color was a
property of light by measuring it through a prism. From 1670 to 1672, he lectured at the University
of Cambridge on optics and investigated the refraction of light, demonstrating that the multicolored
spectrum produced by a prism could be recomposed into white light by a lens and a second prism.
In 1687, he published his best known work, Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica
(Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), which has been called the most influential book
on physics. The Principia states Newton s laws of motion, forming the foundation of mechanics,
Newton s law of universal gravitation, and the origin of Kepler s laws of planetary motion. In the

Wireless Networking And Its Impact On The World
In 2016, the majority of networking is done wirelessly. Advancements in technology over the
past ten to fifteen years has allowed us to network wirelessly anywhere in the world. There are
remote areas in the world that do not allow wireless networking due to resources being
unavailable, at least for now. The world of networking is continuously growing. I would predict
that with initiatives such as Facebook s WiFi Drone, WiFi will be available everywhere in the
world no matter your location. The term WiFi is a trademark of the WiFi alliance, a trade
association who promotes LAN technologies and certifies products. The term WiFi was adopted
in 1999 as a branding term. It is an acronym for wireless fidelity. Any device that has a stamp of
WiFi certification must meet the IEEE 802.11standards meaning that the devices capabilities are
compatible with other certified devices. In 1985, the FCC released what is known as the ISM

for all sorts of devices around the world that serve a purpose in the title s description. The ISM

the traffic going across the same frequency. 902 928 MHz is only unlicensed by what the ITU or

Forecasting Model Of Forecasting Models
Forecasting is often defined as the estimation of the value of a variable (or set of variables) at
some future point in time (Goodier, 2010). It can be applied to a number of different situations
when there is uncertainty about the future and the data collected can aid in decisions that need to
be made (Armstrong, 2001). In relation to healthcare, forecastingmodels have been used to aid their
sector s departments to plan staff rota schedules, ensuring that a sufficient amount of senior staff are
available at any given time throughout the day, week, month and year. As explained previously, a
fundamental factor that causes overcrowding is a limited supply of resources to treat patients,

These models can be characterised as consisting of a time trend, a seasonal factor, a cyclical
element and an error term (Kennedy, 2008.) Unlike casual or economic forecasting, where it is
assumed there is a historical relationship between a dependent and an independent variable will be
consistent in the future, time series models assume the historical components of the model will
repeat itself. Research has been undertaken to develop a generalised forecasting model that uses a
method that can accurately predict future the attendees and resources needed at Emergency
Departments.
1.3.3 Long Range Forecasting for Future Attendees An early attempt to predict attendees was
conducted by Milner (1988) who s study on a single Emergency Department within the UK
attempted support to healthcare planning by forecasting annual first, return and total attendances
at EDs for Trent districts and the whole of the Trent region. The data of annual first, return and
total attendances were collected over a training period of 10 years and evaluated over a period of
1 year using an Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) method for modelling which
falls into time series model category. This method for forecasting this type of data has been
supported by other researchers, who state that ARIMA forecasting techniques should be considered
for a time series that s contains a trend or seasonal or non stationary data. The results

After some time on the island, Prendick is exposed to the propaganda that spreads through the
beast s culture. They reference Moreau as being The law whom they fear with humble bows.
The beast people display this loyal attitude as they chant in gruesome rhythm His is the Hand
that wounds, his is the Hand that heals (68). The island, their village, and the dreaded
Dr.Moreau that brought them into this world is all of what the beast people have come to
apperceive, making them innocently gullible. One such character described by Montgomery as
complex trophy of Moreau s skill, a bear, tainted with dog and ox, and one of the most
elaborately made of all the creatures seems to further his loyalty towards Moreau as the novel s
plot thickens. M ling separates himself from the other beasts as he is allowed to sleep in a

Six Elements Of A Literature Review On Tourism And Human...
1. Introduction
A literature review is a body of text that determines the aims to review the critical points of
current knowledge including substantive findings as well as theoretical and methodological
contributions to a particular topic. The review of relevant literature is nearly always a standard
chapter of a thesis or dissertation. The review forms an important chapter in a thesis where its
purpose is to provide the background to and justification for the research undertaken. Bruce , who
has published widely on the topic of the literature review, has identified six elements of a literature
review. These elements comprise a list; a search; a survey; a vehicle for learning; a research
facilitator; and a report.

an effectively implemented talent management strategy include improved employee recruitment

Mixed Chamber Ensemble Critique
On November 8, 2015, I attended the Mixed Chamber Ensembles at Dr. Bobbie Bailey Family
Performance Center, Morgan Hall. I was very happy that weekend, because my family came up to
see me. I home town is four hours away, so this was the first time I have seen my family in two

Sunday. I choose to attend the one at ten o clock with my friend Bria decided to attend the

Should Sports And The Athletes From A Financial Perspective
To Pay or Not to Pay Athletics have always been a huge part of my life. For as long as I can
remember I have been throwing a ball, catching a ball, racing, competing, you name it. This led
me to so many great opportunities in my life. I played on a state championship football team in
high school, I had the opportunity to play college football, and I formed relationships that will
no doubt last me a lifetime. So yes, it is near and dear to my heart. Thus, I pay serious attention
to things that often go on in the world of sports, some that are more important than others. The
hot button issue when it comes to college athletics today is the relationship between the schools
and the athletes from a financial perspective. When I first started hearing about it, I can honestly
say that I did not know too much about the subject. There are a lot of economics and business
concepts and terms that were a foreign language to me. As I continued to research, I became
fascinated with both sides of this issue which have credible arguments. On one side of it, there
are pundits who will be the first to say we should not pay these athletes for a myriad of reasons
that I will go into as I progress. The other side says that the current system is nothing short of
exploitation on the highest level that these athletes are not being properly compensated for what
they endure day in and day out. This is a delicate issue that is becoming more and more of a focal
point throughout the country. The myth

Essay about Americans Have the Right to Keep and Bear Arms
Americans Have the Right to Keep and Bear Arms
Our rights as Americans started to take shape when the Constitution of the United States was drawn
up by the delegates at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia. Three years later, a very
important part of American history called the Bill of Rights was added. The Bill of Rights is
looked upon and interpreted every day. It gives the citizens of the United States many of the rights
and freedoms that we value today, and some of those are in jeopardy. One right that is at stake is
our right to bear arms, which is addressed in the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is a
highly debatable topic, and many legal scholars and the Supreme Court have yet to resolve the
issues and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several states have added right to carry laws, while others have made it illegal to possess a
concealed weapon (Smith 22). Most of the additional laws deal with the ownership and use of
handguns and assault type weapons. There has been much debate and government lobbying
dealing with the passing of gun laws. Many people think the government is focusing too much on
the laws about guns, because 90 percent of all violent crime in the United States does not involve
any type of firearm (Smith 17). Other countries around the world have also set examples by having
gun laws. Guns are banned in the United Kingdom, and the crime rate has risen since that time
(Smith 24). Also, within the United States, the crime rate in the states is lower if the states have
right to carry laws (Smith 22). The other major problem with gun laws in the United States is that
they are simply not being enforced (Smith 15). These facts and others involving the positive uses of
guns are argued in court rooms and government offices around the country every day. As
government officials study the facts and make laws, they continue to maintain the people s right to
bear arms.
When thinking about the people s right to bear arms, it is appropriate to know that not all stories
about guns are bad. Guns are not always used for violence, and the government seems to be
keeping this fact in mind. Positive stories about people having their lives saved by guns seem to

Pros And Cons Of Merit Pay
Merit Pay The controversy of the merit pay system has been a highly contentious discussion in the
field of education, most notably in my school district. As stated in the Education Commission of
the United States, merit pay is pay for performance where a teacher s compensation is tied to the
performance in the classroom (2010). While merit pay for classroom teachers has been around for
decades, it is increasingly becoming an issue around the country. As seen in my district, the issue
has become a non negotiable topic as the district is negotiating a new contract with the teacher s
union. The district s proposal to include it in the new contract in order to improve student outcomes,
attract new, highly qualified teachers to the district, and retain the proficient teachers already
employed in the schools. The political influence increased when President Barack Obama
introduced the Race to the Top Initiative. As stated in Howell Magazinnik, the Race to the Top
Initiative was created to stimulate the adoption of educationreforms in the state governments of
education (2017). The debate has been ongoing surrounding the pros and cons of merit pay with
both supporters and opposition. The merit pay system will continue to have legal implications for
schoolleaders as it impacts the rights of teachers, but the impact on student achievement. I support
merit pay as it is prescribed to tie teacher performance to pay increases.

Drugs And Drugs In H. G Bissinger s Friday Night Lights
Football is America s go to entertainment sport. The NFL hit its peak in 2015, with an average of
114.1 million television viewers throughout the year ( Statista, 2017). This sport is loved by all,
the players, parents, coaches, and fans. But, is football merely entertainment? Is it just a simple
game, teaching young boys the value of teamwork, dedication, and discipline? Are parents
spending their Friday nights to support their boys, or is there something bigger happening? In H.G

Summary OfFranciscan Missions In Alta California
In the introduction, the author wrote that California was a happy place which was not true. The
article Franciscan Missions in Alta California, explains that the missionaries brought hardships
to the people of California killing thousands of people by the mission system. The Spaniards
brought diseases and drastic lifestyle changes that decreased the number of Native people. The
author mentions that hostile Indians made travel dangerous, except for the brave and well
armed. Yet, the Natives would often cooperate by showing the Spaniards where the fresh water
was, providing food, and helping their explores. The Indians were willing to welcome the
Spaniards into the trading system. A chain of 13 prosperous missions stretched along coastal,
however, Serra founded a chain of missions that depended upon the labor of the Indians and their

than the lives that they had before. A ten year old Indian boy was baptized at a mission, but the
Native people were only exploited for the benefit of the church, the Spaniards, and the individual
missionaries themselves. The article continues by explaining that Spaniards hoped to assimilate
the Natives to a Hispanic way since they believed their way of life was superior (language,
religion, crop raising techniques). By the year 1800 there were over 500 Indians living at the
missions, but the Indians were in captivity, enforced labor,

Along with time to focus on jobs, time for recreation was introduced giving people more free

The Counter Terrorism Law
Counter terrorism Law
No one can deny that the word terrorism is hated to be heard. Terrorism is commonly known as
any action referring to violence against innocent citizens or causing damages to a public or private
property for political purposes. According to Maria Keet, (Senior Lecturer with the Department of
Computer Science, University of Cape Town) Terrorismis resulted due to plenty of causes that
made such a phenomenon be a public concern. Separatism is probably the main reason of arising
of terrorism. The conflict between people is due to nationalism and racism issues. This conflict

of terrorism is poverty and social inequality. Some statistics proved that 15% of the population

Comparing The Integumentary And Skeletal System
1. The Integumentary and Skeletal systems The integumentary system depends on skeletal system
to supply the red blood cells. The bones make red blood cells that take oxygen and nutrients to the
dermis which is the under layer of skin, which is still alive. On the other hand, the skeletal depends
on the skin to absorb vitamin D. The bloodcan then transfer it to the bones why it is used to
support bone structure. 2. The Skeletal and Muscular systems The skeletal system s goal is to
give the body posture. However, the muscular system connects to the bone and helps move the
arm. For example, Biceps and triceps connect to the shoulder and the radius and ulna to lift and
lower your arm. In order for proper function, your body must only contract either the biceps or
triceps at once. Additionally, the biceps and triceps would lie limp without the support from the
bone. This is because the muscle can only constrict and relax. For this reason, they can t move any
limb without bones. 3. Muscular and Digestive systems The muscular system depends on the
digestive to break down and absorb nutrients. In order to accomplish this feat, it takes two organs.
The stomach breaks down the food. However, the molecules are absorbed by the small and large
intestines. Afterword the nutrients are sent to the cells that make up the muscles. This replenishes

The Unattainable Standards of the Fashion World
Most people think of the fashion industry as a materialistic world of extravagant, overpriced, un
wearable clothing. Where anorexic, and yet extremely beautiful women use their looks to sell you
a product that they themselves probably don t even like. They think of an industry that sets the
most unattainable standards and lowers the self esteem of young women to zero. They think of it
as a world where everyone is judged and no one will ever be pleased...and in the end none of it
even matters because they re all just clothes, but I do not.
You may be asking yourself, Why is fashionimportant? . Clothes are not just clothes. They aren t
just what you wear. Clothes are personal and intimate. The clothes you wear send a public
message to others about the way you see yourself (regardless of whether or not you want them to).
It s really all about branding. From the minute you take the hanger off the rack, you are creating an
image. Clothes can even transform you, that shirt you just threw on this morning can give you an
enormous boost of confidence. How powerful is it that a piece of fabric can make you look and
feel differently.
iThere are many in the industry that truly possess great personal style and have major influence in

about a speech: without memorization a speech will not come easy and someone could fail
without it (SC3). Timing is another one of the major key components of a speech (BE3). Along
with memorization, without timing the speech, it may not flow and could be confusing to the
audience. The best way to practice timing is to plan out your speech, focus on what needs to be
memorized, and time it from there. Nerves are something that everyone gets before giving a
speech, but others know how to control their nerves unlike myself. Nervous and worried, is
exactly how I go into every speech I give, wishing I could be confident and excited (BE1). The
best way to not be nervous is to take deep breaths, practice, and to accept the fear. Fighting nerves
isn t easy; breathing, is the easiest way (SC2). Before a big speech, when someone is nervous,
their muscles will tighten, but taking deep breaths to get oxygen to your brain will help relax the
body.

Payday Loan Loans Are A Good Option
But sometimes there are unforeseen financial circumstances. Paydays loans are a good option to
consider. Keep these tips in mind when thinking about getting a payday loan.
People should only use a payday loan as their last resort. Loans carry very high interest rates which
actually have you paying close to 25 percent of the initial amount of the loan. Prior to securing a
payday loan, investigate your options. A simple method to find reputable payday loan lenders to
to look on websites that review them. You can get information on which companies are
trustworthy and which ones have shady practices that you should avoid. If set on getting payday
loans, review all information before signing a contract. There are scams that are set up to offer a
subscription that you may or may not want, and take the money right out of your bank checks
account without your knowledge. Do not get involved in a never ending vicious cycle. You
should never get a payday loan to get the money to pay the note on another one. Do everything
you can to get out of this cycle. It is very easy to fall into this trap if you don t take steps to prevent
it. The costs can spiral out of control quickly and leave you broke.
Be sure you have a clear understanding of payment due dates. Loans have high rates when it comes
to their interest rates, and these companies often charge fees from late payments. It is imperative
that these types of loans are paid on time. It s even better to do so prior to the day they

President Franklin D. Roosevelt
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, arguably one of the most famous Presidents because of his
work during such a difficult time took office in 1933. Roosevelt came into office with a bold
plan and acted on it swiftly, providing jobs and relief for those in need. Over the next eight
years, the government instituted a series of experimental projects and programs, known
collectively as the New Deal, that aimed to restore some measure of dignity and prosperity to
many Americans. More than that, Roosevelt s New Deal permanently changed the federal
government s relationship to the U.S. populace. The New Deal consisted of a number of
government funded programs. For my purpose though, I want to focus on the Bank Act of 1933.
The Bill was sponsored by Sen. Carter Glass (D VA) and Rep. Henry Steagall (D AL) and signed
into law by Roosevelt in 1933. This policy change set up the banking industry for a successful
recovery and a strong future. The Bank Act of 1933 contained many goals. One of the most crucial
successes of this law was that commercial banking and investment banking were now completely
separate. This interaction had been a problem due to overlap in business practices that weren t
morally right. Another system of value that came from this act was the Federal Deposit Insurance
Corporationor FDIC, as many of us know it today. What the FDIC does is insure deposits up to a
certain amount. This was great for the clients of the bank and brought back a sense of security
among the

Decision making is the most important aspect of any matter...
Decision making is the most important aspect of any matter one confronts in the physical world.
The success or failure of a project, business, operation, company etc. is directly proportional to the
logical reasoning carried out to reach a decision. Bad/ suboptimal decisions can ruin/damage
business, project, reputation and careers. Past few decades of research into the decision making
paradigm has highlighted that bad decisions are a byproduct of distortions and biases that
incapacitate our reasoning. Most of our decision making is heuristic in nature that serves perfectly
well in most of the situations. However, when the problem is large enough, one tends to ignore or
poorly identify the details that must be taken into account in order... Show more content on

The problem of finding an optimal solution under given constraints belongs to the discipline of
mathematical optimization that includes methods like linear programming, dynamic programming,
integer programming, Pontryagin s maximum principle and nonlinear programming. Linear
programming has been popular since its introduction and has helped solve many real world
problems yet it suffers from a grave limitation i.e. the real world is not linear which restricts its
use to linear optimization problems or to the ones that can be approximated as linear models.
Problems with strong nonlinearities will not give a feasible solution if approximated via linear
models. Nonlinear programming addresses these limitations but is far more difficult to implement
and needs more computational power to solve problems. In this paper we review the nonlinear
programming technique and the way it can help solve a complex optimization problem. The paper
is organized as follows. In section 2 we define the optimization problem and its mathematics. In
section 3 we discuss the nonlinear programming, its origin, uses and the software programs that
can be used to aid problem solving. Section 4 is an example of optimization problem and its
solution via nonlinear programming. In section 5, we give the conclusion.
2.Optimization Problem
Mathematically an optimization problem is defined as follows: where is called the objective or cost
function to be optimized subject to m inequality constraints

My Love For Dogs Research Paper
Ever since I was a small child I remember my mom blasting her favorite music throughout the
house as she attempted to clean up after my siblings and I. She also found it very entertaining to
annoy us by singing at the top of her lungs as we would travel places in the car. She always
listened to classical music, country music, Patsy Cline, or Phantom of the Opera. As a child I just
always told her she was really weird and went along my way, but secretly on the inside I started to
enjoy the types of music she listened to. Now I find music very intriguing and often notice myself
applying certain songs to different aspects of my life.
Living in the country My entire life I lived in a small town called Mackay, Idaho. We lived about
15 minutes from town with five miles of the road to our house being dirt road. That five miles of
dirt road is my whole life, that s where I learned how to drive, where many rattlesnakes were killed,
and where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Living in the country means that we tend to get uninvited visitors coming down from the
mountains, so my parents have always made sure that we have a dog in the yard to help alarm
us of any danger. I was always the one who had to take care of the dogs because they were
always my dogs, until about six years ago when my mom got a cocker spaniel for her birthday.
She was only a few months old when we got her, and she was supposed to go outside after a few
nights in the house, but that never happened, so now she thinks she is the boss of the house.
She quickly became one of us and is easily classified as the youngest child of the family, thus she
was named Baby. As mentioned before my mom loves to walk around singing at the top of her
lungs, so she quickly picked up on singing a song by The Olympics called My Baby Loves a
Western Movie. Ever since she started singing that song, we have all started to give the dog a little
chorus as we walk by

Authority Figure In The Milgram And The Stanford Prisoner...
You are taking part in an experiment and you are asked by an authority figure to harm someone.
Do you view the authority as someone to be respected? Are you afraid of the consequences? Do
you feel obligated to carry out the experiment? Are your morals strong enough to be disobedient to
the authority? People have often been put into the place of having to choose whether to be
destructively obedient or to disobey and face the consequences. This has happened in Nazi Germany
, and in both the Milgram and the Stanford Prisoner experiments. How do those who are obedient
and disobedient differ? Many different kinds of factors can play a part in a person s decision to be
obedient to an authorityor to be completely disobedient. In these experiments, or even in real life,
an authority figure can hold a lot of power. However, some may view them differently than others.
What do authorities even look like? Why do people feel the need to listen to them? An authority
may seem well educated, put together, respectable, and powerful. The way a person views an
authority can can often be the determining reason in whether they feel the need to be obedient to
them. Those people who are obedient to an authority may view the authority as someone who
should be respected because of the way that they act, their title, or their education level. When
someone respects another person, they are more likely to listen and obey. This goes along with
feeling inferior to the authority figure because those

Essay about Colonial America
Religious Freedom in colonial America
Religion was a very important part of everyday life in colonial America. Sometimes people were
not allowed to question what they were taught, and if they did so they were punished
accordingly. Before 1700 some colonies had more religious freedom then others. While others
colonies only allowed religious freedom to a select group, others allowed religious freedom to all
different kinds of religions. In the overall there was quite a bit of religious freedom in colonial
America
First there is the colony or Rhode Island, which was started by a man, named Roger Williams in
(1636). It did not become an official colony until (1644) when it then ... Show more content on

These laws however were not re instituted to the Catholics and Jews. Even though Catholics and
Jews were deprived of freedom of worship. Pennsylvania was still democratic; it was founded for
civil and religious freedom. People there had more freedoms in Pennsylvania then they would have
if they lived in England.
Rhode Island and Pennsylvania were examples of the two most democratic colonies of colonial
America. Not all of the colonies were like this. For example, in (1629) non separatists Puritans
left from England and started a new colony called the Massachusetts Bay Colony. People who
did not agree with their views were often banished. Anne Hutchinson was one of these people
who were banished. She was banished because she argued against the Puritan belief of
predestination. She had a trial and from there was forced out of the colony. Another person that
was kicked out of the colony was a man named Roger Williams. Williams was exiled from the
colony because he was found to have new and dangerous opinions that disagreed with already
established Puritan beliefs. Also, men that were not a part of a Puritan congregation could not vote
in provincial elections. Freedom in this colony was somewhat limited.
Colonies of colonial America had different views when it came to religion, but they all had one
thing in common. All of the colonies had to some extent,

  • 2. Compare And Contrast Determinism And Free Will Determinism and free will are regarded as two opposite sides, because most people think that they are incompatible with each other. But actually they are not. Determinism draws a picture of causality in the frame of laws of nature. That is to say, every event has a cause. From deterministic point of view, free willis uncaused, so it rejects free will completely. On the other hand, opponents of free will reject determinism. However, there is a third option, a softer way to solve free will problem, namely, compatibilism. I believe compatibilism is a better way because it offers a solution which should be taken into acount. To understand what compatibilism is, first, I need to explain what determinism and free will are briefly. Free will is the ability to make choice by taking moral responsibility. Causal determinism is that every event has cause and effect in the light of laws of nature. According to incompatibilism, these two term are opposite of each other. However, compatibilism doesn t regard free will and determinism as opposite sides. According to compatibilism, both determinism and free will are consistent with each other. Because free will... As materialism takes a side in determinism, dualism support existence of free will, because dualism assumes that mind is independent from laws of nature. Some libertarians claim that we have souls which are nonphysical and independent from laws of nature, which have similar aspects with dualism. To illustrate, Descartes well known sentence Cogito ergo sum is based on thinking which accepts mind as separate from body. In other words, mind doesn t belong the world of laws of nature. • 3. Assignment 1.1 Personal Power Profile The assessment that I chose for this assignment was from the box 5.1 Personal Power Profile. This assessment is composed of a list of statements that describe possible behaviors of leaders in work organizations. The end results are based on the response for each item. For example, strongly disagree is equal to 1 point, disagree is equal to 2 points, neither agree nor disagree is equal to 3 points, agree is equal to 4 points and strongly agree is equal to 5 points. Consequently, I end up with more points on referent power4.5, followed by legitimate power 4.0, and expert power 4.0. Referent power is role model power. The amount of legitimate power someone has depends on the importance of the position she or he occupies and the willingness to grant authority to the person in that position. The benefits of this type of power are that incorporates weight of the entire organization, effective for gaining obedience, helps large organizations function effectively. The costs are that lowers follower task performance, lowers follower task satisfaction, and may become less effective overtime. Expert power is based on the person, not on the position. This type of power influences people because leaders supply needed information and skills. What have you learned from completing this exercise? What I learned about this exercise is that I confirmed my leadership style. I like to practice what I preach, as I do not expect others to do what I do not do. I treat others with respect and courtesy, all the time, no matter what! I think that honesty is the best policy, so I like to keep my team inform, and I do not pretend to have all of the answers, I do apologize if I make a mistake. Gaining followers trust is most important to me, so I always make sure that I communicate with them with valid/proven facts. Located in Anaheim, California, this popular amusement park is known all over the world for its entertainment, park rides, Disney characters, and so much more. • 12. Expectations Drive Perceptions By Annie Dillard Expectations Drive Perceptions Annie Dillard, in her essay, Seeing, describes how each individual sees and perceives differently. Dillard explains how a certain individual may see something completely different than another. Each and every individual perceives situations and views in their own way, depending on their expectations, their backgrounds, their experiences, and their attitudes. When an individual expects to see something, typically that is what they see. Because they are generally focused on seeing what they expect, the individual doesn t see or notice the small things that are often important. One specific example of different perceptions is school. Students perceive school in various ways, depending on what they expect. The thought or action of going to school is perceived in various ways, depending on an individual s expectations. Because they expect opportunities and rewards to come out of school, some students perceive school as a wonderful place to be. To illustrate, Annie Dillard, in her essay, Seeing, explains how expectations affect how a person sees, But if you cultivate a healthy poverty and simplicity, so that finding a penny will literally make your day, then, since the world is in fact planted in pennies, you have with your poverty bought a lifetime of days (Dillard 17). Fugality Research Paper The Order Behind Frugality Both Kemmu shikimoku, issued by the Ashikaga bakufu in 1336, and the Code for the Warrior Households, issued by the Tokugawa bafuku in 1615, stipulated that it was indispensable to practice frugality. Both Ashikaga bakufu and Tokugawa bafuku were new regimes when they promulgated these two legal documents. While at first glance, these two legal documents might seem to share similar attitudes toward frugality, in fact, they were different in nature. In this paper, I would like to compare Kemmu shikimoku (1336) and the Code for the Warrior Households (1615), by first closely examining the details of these two frugality laws and then speculating their motivations for issuing the frugality law. For instance, in Kemmu shikimoku, the author confessed that he had selected the teachings of Japan and China, past and present (Grossberg, 22). Likewise, at the end of the Code for the Warrior Households, it stated that This is the clear admonition of the wise men of old (Wm. Theodore et al., 14). Such references to history and tradition were necessary, since both Ashikaga bakufu and Tokugawa bakufu were newly founded, when Kemmu shikimoku and the Code for the Warrior Households were issued respectively. While both regimes solidified their legitimacy by embracing the history, their fundamental governing ideologies had changed. On the one hand, the authors of Kemmu shikimoku still regarded virtue as the most important thing for the government. It said in Kemmu shikimoku that The [Chinese] classics say that virtue is good government, and government rests in the security of the people. Georges Clemenceau of France, who had also served during the French defeat in the Franco Prussian War, wanted revenge on Germany by humiliating the country. The actions of the British representative, David Lloyd George, were driven purely by self interest, and the Italian representative, Vittorio Orlando, was greedy in his pursuit to acquire colonies. However, the representative from the United States, President Wilson, sought to create a plan that would create a fair peace. • 16. How Did Isaac Newton Contribute To Physics Born on January 4th, 1643 in Woolsthorpe, England, Isaac Newton was an established mathematician and physician. He is credited as one of the greatest minds of the 17th century Scientific Revolution. With his discoveries in optics, motion, and mathematics, Newton developed the principles of modern physics. He also shares credit with Gottfried Leibniz for the creation /development of Calculus. In 1666, Newton began contributing to the field of optics, first by observing that color was a property of light by measuring it through a prism. From 1670 to 1672, he lectured at the University of Cambridge on optics and investigated the refraction of light, demonstrating that the multicolored spectrum produced by a prism could be recomposed into white light by a lens and a second prism. In 1687, he published his best known work, Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), which has been called the most influential book on physics. In relation to healthcare, forecastingmodels have been used to aid their sector s departments to plan staff rota schedules, ensuring that a sufficient amount of senior staff are available at any given time throughout the day, week, month and year. • 25. Should Sports And The Athletes From A Financial Perspective To Pay or Not to Pay Athletics have always been a huge part of my life. For as long as I can remember I have been throwing a ball, catching a ball, racing, competing, you name it. This led me to so many great opportunities in my life. I played on a state championship football team in high school, I had the opportunity to play college football, and I formed relationships that will no doubt last me a lifetime. So yes, it is near and dear to my heart. Thus, I pay serious attention to things that often go on in the world of sports, some that are more important than others. The hot button issue when it comes to college athletics today is the relationship between the schools and the athletes from a financial perspective. When I first started hearing about it, I can honestly say that I did not know too much about the subject. There are a lot of economics and business concepts and terms that were a foreign language to me. As I continued to research, I became fascinated with both sides of this issue which have credible arguments. On one side of it, there are pundits who will be the first to say we should not pay these athletes for a myriad of reasons that I will go into as I progress. The other side says that the current system is nothing short of exploitation on the highest level that these athletes are not being properly compensated for what they endure day in and day out. It gives the citizens of the United States many of the rights and freedoms that we value today, and some of those are in jeopardy. Several states have added right to carry laws, while others have made it illegal to possess a concealed weapon (Smith 22). Most of the additional laws deal with the ownership and use of handguns and assault type weapons. There has been much debate and government lobbying dealing with the passing of gun laws. Many people think the government is focusing too much on the laws about guns, because 90 percent of all violent crime in the United States does not involve any type of firearm (Smith 17). Other countries around the world have also set examples by having gun laws. Guns are banned in the United Kingdom, and the crime rate has risen since that time (Smith 24). Also, within the United States, the crime rate in the states is lower if the states have right to carry laws (Smith 22). The other major problem with gun laws in the United States is that they are simply not being enforced (Smith 15). These facts and others involving the positive uses of guns are argued in court rooms and government offices around the country every day. As government officials study the facts and make laws, they continue to maintain the people s right to bear arms. When thinking about the people s right to bear arms, it is appropriate to know that not all stories about guns are bad. On the other hand, the skeletal depends on the skin to absorb vitamin D. The bloodcan then transfer it to the bones why it is used to support bone structure. 2. Buildings that were once new are now destroyed, small businesses that existed are gone, houses are without roofs, etc. The indignation I feel is that our president, has not taken action in aiding these American Citizens who are being affected by the aftermath of these two hurricanes, predominantly Maria. There is only one working hospital on the island and the streets are still flooded. These floods can eventually be precursors to diseases and infections (possible and real threats). As a way to help the Puerto Ricans, my parents and I have donated water, first aid kits etc. so these individuals can get the help/supplies they need. The fact that it took the president to send the help needed by Puerto Rico nearly a week infuriated people such as myself. As of right now there is not much I can do other than help by collecting ... • 40. The Unattainable Standards of the Fashion World Most people think of the fashion industry as a materialistic world of extravagant, overpriced, un wearable clothing. Where anorexic, and yet extremely beautiful women use their looks to sell you a product that they themselves probably don t even like. They think of an industry that sets the most unattainable standards and lowers the self esteem of young women to zero. They think of it as a world where everyone is judged and no one will ever be pleased...and in the end none of it even matters because they re all just clothes, but I do not. You may be asking yourself, Why is fashionimportant? . Clothes are not just clothes. They aren t just what you wear. Clothes are personal and intimate. The clothes you wear send a public message to others about the way you see yourself (regardless of whether or not you want them to). It s really all about branding. From the minute you take the hanger off the rack, you are creating an image. Clothes can even transform you, that shirt you just threw on this morning can give you an enormous boost of confidence. How powerful is it that a piece of fabric can make you look and feel differently. iThere are many in the industry that truly possess great personal style and have major influence in the fashion world. From the red carpets to street style, these ladies can do no wrong. One major movie starlet, Jennifer Lawrence, has become quite the fashionista. • 41. Glossophobia Speech In the United States alone, as much as 75% of the population struggles with the fear of public speaking, also known as glossophobia. Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking, some cases more extreme than others. Certain cases of glossophobia may be just a phobia, while other cases may just be as simple as stage fright. Throughout my life, I have had to give speeches on topics from Justin Bieber to the Jack Trice football stadium in Ames, and each minute is one I will never get back. Even though speeches are something I hate doing, I feel as though I learn something new each time I give a speech. The things I struggle with the most in giving speeches is the fearof being judged, the fear of failure, and how nervous I get before and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The best way to prepare for a speech is to make notes, memorize certain parts, get the timing perfect (SC4). Failure while giving a speech is something that without the proper preparation, could very likely happen. Having small side notes written down while giving a speech are crucial to help move along the process. Notes not only move along the speech, but they are used as a guide as to what do say and talk about next. Memorization is one the biggest key components about a speech: without memorization a speech will not come easy and someone could fail without it (SC3). Timing is another one of the major key components of a speech (BE3). Along with memorization, without timing the speech, it may not flow and could be confusing to the audience. The best way to practice timing is to plan out your speech, focus on what needs to be memorized, and time it from there. Nerves are something that everyone gets before giving a speech, but others know how to control their nerves unlike myself. Nervous and worried, is exactly how I go into every speech I give, wishing I could be confident and excited (BE1). The best way to not be nervous is to take deep breaths, practice, and to accept the fear. Fighting nerves isn t easy; breathing, is the easiest way (SC2). Before a big speech, when someone is nervous, their muscles will tighten, but taking deep breaths to get oxygen to your brain will help relax the body. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Payday Loan Loans Are A Good Option But sometimes there are unforeseen financial circumstances. Paydays loans are a good option to consider. Keep these tips in mind when thinking about getting a payday loan. People should only use a payday loan as their last resort. Loans carry very high interest rates which actually have you paying close to 25 percent of the initial amount of the loan. Prior to securing a payday loan, investigate your options. A simple method to find reputable payday loan lenders to to look on websites that review them. You can get information on which companies are trustworthy and which ones have shady practices that you should avoid. If set on getting payday loans, review all information before signing a contract. There are scams that are set up to offer a subscription that you may or may not want, and take the money right out of your bank checks account without your knowledge. Do not get involved in a never ending vicious cycle. You should never get a payday loan to get the money to pay the note on another one. Do everything you can to get out of this cycle. It is very easy to fall into this trap if you don t take steps to prevent it. The costs can spiral out of control quickly and leave you broke. Be sure you have a clear understanding of payment due dates. Loans have high rates when it comes to their interest rates, and these companies often charge fees from late payments. • 43. President Franklin D. Roosevelt President Franklin D. Roosevelt, arguably one of the most famous Presidents because of his work during such a difficult time took office in 1933. Roosevelt came into office with a bold plan and acted on it swiftly, providing jobs and relief for those in need. Over the next eight years, the government instituted a series of experimental projects and programs, known collectively as the New Deal, that aimed to restore some measure of dignity and prosperity to many Americans. More than that, Roosevelt s New Deal permanently changed the federal government s relationship to the U.S. populace. The New Deal consisted of a number of government funded programs. For my purpose though, I want to focus on the Bank Act of 1933. The Bill was sponsored by Sen. Carter Glass (D VA) and Rep. Henry Steagall (D AL) and signed into law by Roosevelt in 1933. This policy change set up the banking industry for a successful recovery and a strong future. The Bank Act of 1933 contained many goals. One of the most crucial successes of this law was that commercial banking and investment banking were now completely separate. This interaction had been a problem due to overlap in business practices that weren t morally right. Another system of value that came from this act was the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporationor FDIC, as many of us know it today. What the FDIC does is insure deposits up to a certain amount. This was great for the clients of the bank and brought back a sense of security among the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Decision making is the most important aspect of any matter... Decision making is the most important aspect of any matter one confronts in the physical world. The success or failure of a project, business, operation, company etc. is directly proportional to the logical reasoning carried out to reach a decision. Bad/ suboptimal decisions can ruin/damage business, project, reputation and careers. Past few decades of research into the decision making paradigm has highlighted that bad decisions are a byproduct of distortions and biases that incapacitate our reasoning. Most of our decision making is heuristic in nature that serves perfectly well in most of the situations. However, when the problem is large enough, one tends to ignore or poorly identify the details that must be taken into account in order... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The problem of finding an optimal solution under given constraints belongs to the discipline of mathematical optimization that includes methods like linear programming, dynamic programming, integer programming, Pontryagin s maximum principle and nonlinear programming. Linear programming has been popular since its introduction and has helped solve many real world problems yet it suffers from a grave limitation i.e. the real world is not linear which restricts its use to linear optimization problems or to the ones that can be approximated as linear models. Problems with strong nonlinearities will not give a feasible solution if approximated via linear models. Nonlinear programming addresses these limitations but is far more difficult to implement and needs more computational power to solve problems. In this paper we review the nonlinear programming technique and the way it can help solve a complex optimization problem. The paper is organized as follows. In section 2 we define the optimization problem and its mathematics. In section 3 we discuss the nonlinear programming, its origin, uses and the software programs that can be used to aid problem solving. Section 4 is an example of optimization problem and its solution via nonlinear programming. In section 5, we give the conclusion. 2.Optimization Problem Mathematically an optimization problem is defined as follows: where is called the objective or cost function to be optimized subject to m inequality constraints ... • 46. My Love For Dogs Research Paper Ever since I was a small child I remember my mom blasting her favorite music throughout the house as she attempted to clean up after my siblings and I. She also found it very entertaining to annoy us by singing at the top of her lungs as we would travel places in the car. She always listened to classical music, country music, Patsy Cline, or Phantom of the Opera. As a child I just always told her she was really weird and went along my way, but secretly on the inside I started to enjoy the types of music she listened to. Now I find music very intriguing and often notice myself applying certain songs to different aspects of my life. Living in the country My entire life I lived in a small town called Mackay, Idaho. We lived about 15 minutes from town with five miles of the road to our house being dirt road. That five miles of dirt road is my whole life, that s where I learned how to drive, where many rattlesnakes were killed, and where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She was only a few months old when we got her, and she was supposed to go outside after a few nights in the house, but that never happened, so now she thinks she is the boss of the house. She quickly became one of us and is easily classified as the youngest child of the family, thus she was named Baby. • 48. Authority Figure In The Milgram And The Stanford Prisoner... You are taking part in an experiment and you are asked by an authority figure to harm someone. Do you view the authority as someone to be respected? Are you afraid of the consequences? Do you feel obligated to carry out the experiment? Are your morals strong enough to be disobedient to the authority? People have often been put into the place of having to choose whether to be destructively obedient or to disobey and face the consequences. This has happened in Nazi Germany , and in both the Milgram and the Stanford Prisoner experiments. How do those who are obedient and disobedient differ? Many different kinds of factors can play a part in a person s decision to be obedient to an authorityor to be completely disobedient. In these experiments, or even in real life, an authority figure can hold a lot of power. However, some may view them differently than others. What do authorities even look like? Why do people feel the need to listen to them? An authority may seem well educated, put together, respectable, and powerful. The way a person views an authority can can often be the determining reason in whether they feel the need to be obedient to them. Those people who are obedient to an authority may view the authority as someone who should be respected because of the way that they act, their title, or their education level. When someone respects another person, they are more likely to listen and obey. This goes along with feeling inferior to the authority figure because those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not all of the colonies were like this. For example, in (1629) non separatists Puritans left from England and started a new colony called the Massachusetts Bay Colony. People who did not agree with their views were often banished. Anne Hutchinson was one of these people who were banished. She was banished because she argued against the Puritan belief of predestination. She had a trial and from there was forced out of the colony. Another person that was kicked out of the colony was a man named Roger Williams. Williams was exiled from the colony because he was found to have new and dangerous opinions that disagreed with already established Puritan beliefs. Also, men that were not a part of a Puritan congregation could not vote in provincial elections. Freedom in this colony was somewhat limited.
