Hip Hop And The Music Genre
What is Hip Hop? According to Encyclopedia Britannica, Hip Hop can be delineated as a music genre
consisting of a stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping, a rhythmic and rhyming
speech that is chanted.1 Originating from a disparaged subculture in the South Bronx and eagerly
spreading through other sectors of New York City during the 1970 s, Hip Hop evolved from formerly
being a relatively fraudulent style to currently being a commercialized and disseminated music genre
among diverse areas around the globe. Hip hop s evolution into a composition distinct from R B
ensued around the time that drum machines and sampling technology became widely available to the
general public at a financially affordable cost for the average consumer. Turntablist techniques (i.e.
scratching, beat mixing, matching, and beat juggling) ultimately developed along with the breaks,
producing a base that could be rapped over, in a manner similar to signifying, as well as percussive
breaks (an influence found in Jamaican dub music). The art of manipulating sound and creating
illustrious music were few of the techniques that identified the aeon of the hip hop genre: Three of
whom will be presented The Diamond Era (1983 1988), The Golden Era (1989 1993), and The Silver
Age (1994 1998). To commence, the first era (The Diamond Era) arose in the year 1983. Although Hip
Hop emerged before 1983, The Diamond era predates the introduction of a new foundation to the hip
hop genre with

Miller s Dramatic Effects of Dishonesty in Death of a Salesman
Introduction ============
Dishonesty is common throughout Death of a Salesman. Whether the lies are intentional or delusional,
Willy, Biff, and Happy tell untruths all the time, Biff finally realizes that they ve been lying to each
other and themselves so much, that they don t even know who they really are. Dishonesty is also
highlighted by Willy s relationship with the woman and his delusion in relation to his career. Finally,
Linda s honesty makes the other characters dishonesty move evident and therefore dramatic.

The fact that it does not occur to either of the boys that there s something wrong with this is very
shocking and the audience is left to wonder how they developed such an attitude
Biff
Biff is deceitful about his life but his dishonesty is compounded, as Willy is dishonest about him.
When Biff stole a football from the locker room when he was in high school, and he claimed that he
took it because the coach told him to work on his passing. Willy acts for a moment as if Biff should
return it, but when Hap implies that Biff was wrong for taking the ball, Willy defends Biff and
declares that the coach, rather than being angry with Biff for stealing, would have been proud and
impressed with Biff s initiative. Willy tells Biff that it s OK that he took the ball because the coach
likes him. Willy tells his son it s perfectly fine to steal from people, as long as you are well liked; they
ll let you get away with it. Willy finds it impossible to understand how someone who was as popular
and well liked as Biff was in high school, could have grown up to be such a failure. Willy always
believed that Biff s popularity would naturally lead to great success in the business world. But that s
not the way things have worked out for Biff, and Willy is baffled by it. Willy shows this by telling Biff
to pretend his work out West was business related instead

The Apartheid Of South Africa Essay
South Africa, after experiencing the apartheid, is trying their best to overcome the apartheid. Now, the
country even has its own leader. He is Jacob Zuma. It is already his second term as a president.( News,
B. (2016, August 5)) The country went over a lot of things, and the history of democratic political
system is not very long for them.
English and Dutch colonized South Africa in the seventeenth century. After South Africa got its
independence from England, Afrikaner National Party became a majority. This was the result of two
groups trying to gain the most power, and the Afrikaner National Party won. After the independence
and apartheid they experienced, there was the first non racial elections in 1994. After that,
parliamentary republic was elected after replacing constitution of Interim Constitution in 1197,
February 4th. After the independence, South Africa tried its best to be non racist and get out of the
apartheid they struggled. South Africa elected its own president, and aimed to be democratic. Even
though South Africa now is not fully settled democratic system, they are still struggling and trying
hard to be fully democratic. (The History of Apartheid in South Africa.)
South Africa once again, tried its best and still trying to be a democratic country. However, the second
largest party, DA, was under the control of apartheid even though the party opposed apartheid laws.
That is why DA changed its route to be more conventional liberal, which opposed ANC.(

Effects Of Stereotyping In The Workplace
Stereotyping, in general, is the perception of individuals or groups based on preconceived notions
about what is generally accepted as true about that person or group rooted in their background
(DuBrin, 2009). Stereotyping can encompass ethnicity, religion, culture, race, age, or gender.
Stereotyping within the workplace often leads to discriminatory practices perpetuating common
negative effects. Based off of these preconceived notions about people sometimes is propagated by
employees within an organization usually where the culture promotes or open displays instances of
discrimination, whether it be intentional or not.
The overreaching conclusion is that stereotyping causes low morale and sense of worth to the
organization. Constant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A movement that has evolved women from what used to be mainly office support, teaching, and
nursing positions to law, banking and information technology. Since the 1early 1900 s, this shift has
had a significant impact on the social and economic empowerment of women, increasing the GDP of
the United States by as much as twenty one percent (Rudman Kilianski, 2000). Female entrepreneurs
and business executives continue to make annual gains, yet stereotypes, prejudice and unequal
earnings compensation continue to be an issue.
Gender Stereotyping Leveling playing field in the workplace has been full of obstacles. However,
what continues to be hampering additional advances have been the persistent cultural and personal
stereotypes of the roles of women in the workplace. Despite numerous reports that confirm companies
with higher numbers of female board members are more financially solvent, professional
environments continually lean more heavily towards the hiring of men their female counterparts

and managers hire and promote others that reflect their own values and views of the world. It stands to
reason that with 70% of managers in the top Fortune 500 companies in the United States are men

Good Communication Is Effective Communication
Good communication is effective communication; it provides direction, a clear goal, and encourages
the flow of ideas. Successful communication is achieved through a variety of methods, but most
importantly, it begins with a foundation of security and trust within the team. Successful
Communication
Over the past few weeks my group has been using our group discussion board as our primary method
of communication. Since beginning our power point project we have been posting updates, questions
and simple check ins to see how each member of the group is coming along with their portion of the
PowerPoint assignment. Our key to success has been because of our communication; this is especially
important because we are a virtual group. We touch base with each other regularly for multiple
reasons, the first being the need to establish a relationship.
In contrast to teams who meet face to face on a regular basis, we cannot pick up on non verbal clues
that are expressed through body language, nor are we able to establish an emotional connection with
one another; with that being said, we must maintain regular contact in order to build a rapport.
Secondly, regular communication allowed us to report progress and drawbacks that may hinder our
success. Moreover, scheduling regular periods of communication enforced accountability by
instituting periodic milestones of progress.
In previous experiences I have had working in collaborative groups, in regard to the importance of
communication,

Disadvantages Of Geography
In the US, 1 out of 3 children are overweight, making childhood obesity the number one health
concern for parents. This is the complete opposite in Yemen, as there are around 400,000 children
there that suffer from malnutrition, causing a child to die every 10 minutes from diseases related to
starvation. All over the world, countries are at different levels of technological advancements, but
where do these disparities come from? How could one place become so much more advanced than
others? The answer to inequality starts with geography. Europe s geographical placement gave
Europeans the advantage of having abundant, nutritious crops, giving them domesticable animals.
Having these animals leads to the spread of germs between humans and animals. Their geography also
gave them everything necessary for steel production. All these advantages gave the Europeans the
ability to decimate other cultures and appropriate their resources, giving them more power.
The first step to development is agriculture. A civilization s latitude or geographic location affects the
place s amount of sunlight and the number of seasons they get, dictating the climate. The climate
affects the crops they can grow, which in turn controls how productive the people can be, leading to
development. Civilizations that lack plentiful and nutritional crops have less time to be productive and
develop than those who do. The geography of a place, or the latitude line they are on controls seasons.
A place such as

Genius Hour Essay
Greetings and welcome to my Genius hour project! This is a project I have chosen because I am a very
intuitive person, and with an abstract object such as the brain to study, I feel inspired to learn more and
investigate the brain s actions, jobs, abilities, and the overall science behind it. The human brain
shapes the way we perceive and think about our everyday lives based on the experiences we gather
and live through. My genius hour project is about where the best learning happens. For my genius
hour infographic I decided it would be appropriate to learn about what also happens to the human
brain when problems are formed inside. This lead me to the complex field of neurology. This field
inspired me quite materially.

Throughput Is A Efficient Measure Of Productivity
In the goal, throughput is defined as the speed in which the manufacturing process produces money
through sales. This compares with the traditional definition of throughput as the time it takes for a
product to enter the manufacturing process and leave as a finished good. I find Goldratt s definition to
be a more efficient measure of productivity. With the traditional definition of throughput it is merely
measuring the time it takes for a product to be produced from start to finish. However, this does not
take into account whether or not the finished products are being sold or sitting on a shelf. This is why
Goldratt s definition of throughput is more efficient measure because if the product is not being sold it
is not being accounted for. The second term defined is inventory, which is the amount of money the
manufacturing plant has spent on things they anticipate to sell. Traditionally inventory is defined as a
list of materials or parts in stock on hand for use. The Goal s definition is more accurate because it
takes into account other costs of the inventory not just the material itself. There are raw materials,
work in process inventory, and finished goods inventory. In the Goal they accounted for the holding
costs to store finished products not yet sold as inventory. The third term defined is operational
expense, is defined as the total money spent to convert inventory to throughput. This definition
separates expenses that do not contribute to converting inventory

Ocean’s Eleven Movie
Movies are a true reflection of society and they show, and sometimes exaggerate, social values and
ideals. When watching a movie one can see more clearly how society is and how it is viewed. Major
social issues such as gender, race and ethnicity, social class, and sexuality are among the things that
are portrayed in movies. Race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class are socially constructed
abstractions along with relationships are organized. These constructs are reflected in social
institutions, public practices, and individual identities including the choice people make, their options,
and opportunities (Walker, 342). With the changing times also comes changing social values. These
changes can be seen when comparing movies from two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet today there are still issues in American that revolve around race. That being said America has
come a long way and has made great strides in the way of race relations as we have recently elected
the first minority president. Though strides have been made in the right direction there is still progress
to be made. In both versions of Ocean s Eleven race can be seen as a central concept. There is a scene
in the remake that is very reflective of society today and its views on race. This scene shows the
perspective view of whites and blacks today. Though this scene is a setup which is planned by the
heist team it is still representative of society s views today. In this scene Bernie Mac s character is
acting as if he must be fired from his job at the casino as a blackjack dealer. Matt Damon s character is
acting as if he is from the NGC and he is informing the casino owner that the African American dealer
that is employed at his casino is an ex convict. Mac s character reacts and says, God damn cracker ;
this comment is accusing Damon s character of being racist against him. Mac then goes on to say a
black man can t earn a decent wage in this state . This very issue is seen in today s American society
with employment laws that say employers cannot discriminate based on race. Even though these laws
greatly help the employment opportunities of minority groups there still seems to be race issues

Analysis of Mozart s K. 515 Mvt. 1
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Andrew McGuire

11/19/2012
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a prodigy of his time, and arguable the greatest of all time. This paper
will discuss an analysis of his third string quintet in C major, K. 515. Through this piece in Sonata
Form we will dissect the exposition, the development, the recapitulation, and the coda; along with an
analysis of the quintet we will briefly discuss parts of Mozart s life, as well as look at the background
of the Viola Quintet No. 3 in C Major, K. 515. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born into a musical
family after his sister Nannerl, by his father and mother Leopold and Anna Maria. His beginnings
would originate in Salzburg, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As with codas we find our final theme in the piece the part proceeding the measure of rest (see Figure
5). Delving deeper into the coda we find theme two reoccurring in the tonic key, this time not
segregated by instrument parts. For the first time in the movement we see the two viola parts
obviously playing what is the theme (see Figure 6), right before we see the second viola briefly mingle
with the cello.
Figure [ 6 ]
After the brief return of theme two between the cello and violas we end happily on the tonic of the
piece. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. Not only this piece but also this assignment. It is one
thing to sit in class and read about and take notes over sonata allegro form. It is completely another to
be expected to dive deeper into a piece and try to figure out its inner most workings. As a violist I also
appreciate the fact that Mozart went against the normality of the cello quintet and wrote a viola
quintet. The fact he was willing to go against what was expected of him by society makes me respect
him as a composer even more. After a glimpse into the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, we have
discussed his Quintet No. 3 in C major. Discussed its themes and their placement, as well as briefly
the variations of these themes. We also saw a brief glimpse into history around the time that the K.

Examples Of Sight And Blindness In Oedipus The King
The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision. (Helen Keller, n.d.)
According to Helen Keller being able to literally see worth nothing when you are mentally blind that
is, not being able to see things beyond the surface. The theme of sight versus blindness in the tragic
play Oedipus the king by Sophocles is a metaphor, with blindness symbolising knowledge, light and
truth while sight symbolises ignorance, darkness and lie. This metaphor and irony of sight and
blindness is the building block of the play Oedipus the king , with central figures Oedipus, King of
Thebes and Teiresias the blind prophet. References to sight and blindness, both metaphorical and
literal are frequent throughout the play. Usually, the image ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While this pride could be commendable at the beginning of the play, here it has become exaggerated
to the extent that it becomes nearly absurd. His pride makes him choose to deny the truth which
pushes him to presume and accuse Creon and Teiresias of treason. This demonstrates Oedipus
blindness to the truth, the truth about the fact that Polybus and Merope are not his real parents, Jocasta
is both his wife and mother as Teiresias says To her that gave [you] birth, [you shall be proved] a son
and husband both (Oedipus the king, Sophocles lines 536 537), he is The land s pollution as Teiresias
call him, referring to Oedipus as Laius murderer whom he is searching for and finally Oedipus is not
aware that Laius is his father. During their meeting Teiresias tells Oedipus You have your eyes but see
not where you are in sin, nor whom you live with. Here Sophocles uses the prophet s words to
emphasise Oedipus lack of foresight and through this metaphor of sight, he also reveals ironically that
the blind prophet has a greater ability to see what is happening in Oedipus life unlike Oedipus who
sees and understand none and has no idea of what is happening and will happen to him. Towards the
end of their discussion, Teiresias prophesise using the metaphor of sight and blindness that But soon
he will be shown to be a citizen true native Theban, and he ll have no joy of the discovery: blindness

Racism by Kool G. Rap DJ Polo in relation to Racism and Ethnicity Long before the 90s, race and
ethnicity have been a controversial issue all over the world, particularly in the United States. In
sociology, the concepts of race and ethnicity is connected to the concept of minority and majority

Neuromancer And The Matrix Analysis
William Gibson s Neuromancer, and The Matrix by The Wachowskis both depict a society in which
humans are under constant manipulation by indispensable machines. In Neuromancer, the protagonist
Case is indirectly manipulated by a powerful Artificial Intelligence named Wintermute. In The Matrix,
majority of the human population lives within a computer simulated world, run by machines.
However, both storylines depict the fact that manipulation is more abundant than is often seen, as both
protagonists are more frequently under the influence of other humans. Neuromancer and The Matrix
both demonstrate the nature of manipulation, and explore the fact that individuals are oblivious to the
manipulation that they face.
Manipulation is ubiquitous. Throughout the movie, the Matrix is presented to the audience as the as
the only source of manipulation, What is the Matrix? Control (The Matrix). The perspective shown to
the audience implies that the robots are the only manipulative force present within this society.
Morpheus introduces Neo to the concept of the Matrix, by saying You are a slave, Neo (The Matrix)
and further explaining it as A prison for your mind (The Matrix). However, even once Neo has been
freed from the matrix, he remains susceptible. Neo is constantly being manipulated by both the Oracle

The English Of The Middle English
American English is consistently changing it began with the Anglo Saxon settlement. The next
settlement that helped influence the English language was the Scandinavians which have some words
with hybridization with spelling from Old English and Norse origins. During the Middle English
period is when the most influencing happened with the Old English being broke down and replaced
with the same English system we use today. During the early modern periods standardization began
giving a standard for spelling and grammar. From there on English continued to evolve and was
influenced from all over the world.
The Proto Indo European language is spoken in the Baltic area until the Celtic s take over and inhabit
Spain, France, Germany Austria, Eastern Europe, and the British Isles. It is suggested by many that the
Celtic language helped influence the English Language today. In 55 B.C. the Romans begin to raid the
British Isles and end up taking over Britain. The first Germanic tribes Jutes, Angles and Saxons arrive
in England from the North Sea. The Roman Empire collapses and Romans start to leave Britain. 400

then? she smiles cockily before raising an eyebrow at my silence. She expects me to die. I say silently
and she stops she just stops her talking and goes quiet, and I leave her to that. I never was very good at
simple conversations. The buddy tactic seemed to be shot out the water as she d already pointed out
she knew my flaw. I had already begun to gnaw on my lips to the point they were red raw when Renee

Althea gushes towards me with the same glee that Semmia possessed. Magnar glares at me, with an

Comparison of Madness and Sanity in Hamlet and Death of a...
Comparison of Madness and Sanity in Hamlet and Death of a Salesman Could anyone really
determine whether or not a person is mad or sane?
In William Shakespeare s Hamlet and Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman each of their two main
characters, Hamlet and Wily Loman, are put up to this question, but in each situation their so called
madness differs in the cause of them. The ways in which their madness affects their lives is proven by
three actions. These actions are neglecting their responsibilities, negatively influencing others, and
finally distracting themselves.
It is really never determined whether or not Hamlet and Willy are really mad, but there is some good
details that reflect it. Both characters were once ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He doesn t even realize that he is jeopardizing his life by not paying attention. Also Willy wants so
much more, but he doesn t even try to make it better. He escapes like a coward from the present which
is the easy way out. With once being in control and now losing it along with their priorities, it is safe
to determine that there is a bit of madness in them both. As a result of neglecting their responsibilities,
they negatively influence others around them in an indirect way. Hamlet was a nice young man who
was in love at one point. Now by letting everything such as mother s incestuous relationship with
Uncle Claudius and his father s death get to him, he turns against everyone and becomes a loner. In the
first scene he is shown, he is apart from the crowd. Also once he worshipped his love
Ophelia and now he treats her as if she does not exist. As a result of this bad treatment, Ophelia goes
mad. Here s where all the trouble begins. Because of her madness, she dies by drowning, but whether
or not it is suicide is left up to the reader. After her suicide, everything comes tumbling down. This
begins the downfall of Hamlet. If he didn t treat her so badly she would not have died and therefore
other deaths would have been avoided. Willy also neglects the ones he loves. He neglects their
feelings, thoughts and also physically neglects them. Happy, his son, lacks a relationship with his

Obamacare The Affordable Care Act
In March 2013, President Barack Obama signed a federal statue into law that would change the way
Americans receive healthcare. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, better known as the
Affordable Care Act, and sometimes called Obamacare is the most significant revision of the U.S.
healthcare system since the passage of Medicare and Medicaid back in 1965. The main function of the
Affordable Care Act is to improve hospitals and physicians practices financially, technologically, and
clinically so the health outcomes and lower costs. Americans are split, as they are with most political
issues, on whether or not the act is a viable solution to our healthcare problem. Even though it has had
its problems such as a faulty website and being thought of as too complicated and expensive for the
American government to take on, I believe the Affordable Care Act is a good solution for the
healthcare problems in our country. Before the Affordable Healthcare Act, there were a few healthcare
reform bills proposed and passed by Congress and earlier presidents. President Bill Clinton proposed a
healthcare reform bill that would make employers responsible for providing their employees with
health insurance. The Republicans did not agree with that plan and suggested an alternative that would
require individuals to buy insurance. The Clinton bill ended up failing because of negative advertising
and concerns that it was way too complex (Roy). He instead passed the State Children s

Social Criticism in the Hollywood Melodramas of the Fifties
In the early 1950s the films of Douglas Sirk led the way in defining the emerging genre of the
Hollywood melodrama. Melodrama strictly means the combination of music (melos) and drama, but
the term is used to refer to the popular romances that depicted a virtuous individual (usually a woman)
or couple (usually lovers) victimized by repressive and inequitable social circumstances (Schatz 222).
Sirk s films were commercially successful and boosted the careers of stars like Lauren Bacall, Jane
Wyman, and Rock Hudson, who was in seven of Sirk s thirteen American films (Halliday 162 171).
Although critics in the fifties called the films trivial and campy and dismissed them ... Show more

The visual aspects of Imitation of Life are more discreet; the color is slightly more realistic, in part
because the newer Eastman color technology was used instead of Technicolor (Bordwell 357). The
outdoor scenes are lavish but authentic, due to the larger budget of the film and the desire not to draw
as much attention away from the more complex and socially important plot.
Visual realism, however, was never a goal of melodrama. In fact, melodramas had a variety of visual
techniques designed to remind the audience that they weren t real. Extreme high and low camera
angles, the placement of large objects in the foreground, visual blocks (like columns) separating
characters, and non natural lighting were jarring to the audience and were a manifestation of the inner
tensions of the characters (FilmFrog 5). The idea behind these tactics was that As soon as the audience
is reminded that they are watching a contrived reality, that only within this artificial world are social
problems worked out so neatly, the prosocial fiction is cast in doubt (Schatz 249). But this most likely
was not the true effect on most audiences, who although they may have understood the social issues
presented, probably did not pick up on the symbolism and technique especially since melodramas
weren t even analyzed academically until the 1970s (Klinger 2).

The Influence Of Camels On The Bedouin People
Camels, or dromedaries, are animals that have one or two humps on their backs. The hump is mostly
made out of fat. If the camel has a hard time finding food, the fat in the hump provides energy. When
the camel is starving the hump shrinks. They are large animals that are able to survive in the hot, dry
climate of the desert in the Middle East. They are a very important animal to the Bedouin people of
the desert. They mostly live in the Middle East. The Bedouin people are Arab people who use camels
as their transportation. They travel across the deserts in Africa. They are also nomadic herders. The
Bedouin people have used camels for trade for over three millennia s. They use camels to trade items.

Attending A Music Concert At An Art Museum
Think about the arts: they are omnipresent like air in daily life, from going to the movies to attending
a music concert to visiting an art museum, with none of those activities being existent if it were not for
the people who spent years perfecting those art forms for other s entertainment and enjoyment. The
truth is, the arts have been embedded in human nature just like carvings on wood, and is a surviving
and persisting tradition that can be traced to even the earliest culture and history that has proved itself
to be a key factor for bringing the world together under common interests and art forms. One would
think that the arts should be required in all education systems with their strong roots in the past and
modern times, but the arts are still the first programs to be cut from schools on tight budgets, and are
nonexistent in low income schools due to being dismissed as inferior to the more academic subjects.
Even though the arts are more abstract, subjective, and lenient in subject areas, they are still the
crucial link and passage to the world of creativity, imagination, and passion. The arts are irreplaceable
subjects that should be maintained in schools because only they can provide a truly well rounded
education to students, harnessing them with priceless skills that simply cannot be found in purely
academic classes, while providing numerous benefits that no other programs can replace. Unlike
regular academic subjects, the arts have their basis on creative

Cinderella Epilogue
I grab Darian closer towards me. After everything that happened today, I just want him more and
more. I love him in a way that happens mostly in fairy tales. He s the prince in Cinderella that
everyone adores and wants, but I m the Cinderella that he finds. The glass slipper is like our hearts. It
fits, perfectly. It s something new that I ve never experienced before. He makes me, me.
Darian stops and looks at me. Is there something wrong?
Oh, no. Sorry, I m just thinking about how much I love you. He smiles that smile I love. One day, I ll
make sure that we can do this, but in our house together. Darian takes off his shirt and says that here is

I woke up before Lily did. Of course. I caress her for a bit and fix her hair before getting out of bed. I
go and brush my teeth then go downstairs. My mom s up already and I say good morning to her as I
make some breakfast. I feel like eating some spam and eggs. Hm. Lily likes sandwiches things. I
wonder if a spam, egg and bacon croissant would taste good. While grabbing all of the materials
needed, I fry up some food and it smells good. I go to the fridge and take out some juice and pour it in
a glass. After, I get a plate and put Lily s food on it and bring that and the glass up to my room.
She s still sleeping. I sneakily go back downstairs to get my food and tiptoe back upstairs. I don t

to kiss her. Once I do, she still doesn t wake up. I try nudging her a bit. She still doesn t wake up. I

The Lower-Class Struggle In F. Scott s Lower Class
Scott died when his horse was spooked and threw him off of itself onto the back of his head causing
him to die. People of the lower class usually have these types of jobs where they work outside or in
the field. Because of Scott s lower class status he had a higher chance of being killed than someone of
the upper class who worked in an office would have. In the lower class there is a struggle to find a job
and there is a struggle to stay alive. Michel Pêcheux says It is also to recognize, under the primacy of
class struggle, how the status of Marxist theory is determined by the ideological and political struggle
of the proletariat. (Pêcheux) which means that Marxist theory is influenced by these struggles the
lower class face first with their ideology and then with the lack of power they have in the political
system. Repeatedly being forced down and never getting a chance to rise up in power because the
people already at the top want to stay at the top which contributes to conflict theory. ... Show more

Enterprise Mobility Improves The Time, Content, And Form...
Enterprise mobility improves the time, content, and form dimensions of information quality.
Since each dimension is improved, the resulting overall quality of information generated by an
organizational information system that utilizes enterprise mobility is also improved.
Improved Information Accessibility
Enterprise mobility enables improvements in information accessibility. The degree of improvement is
directly dependent upon the mobile hardware and communications equipment in use. The degree of
information accessibility required which defines the hardware and communications requirements is
determined by the business needs that are driving the enterprise mobility application. Enterprise
mobility technology (hardware, software, and communications) provides a wide range of options that
can be mixed and matched to fit the needs of each individual enterprise mobility application.
The improvements in information accessibility enabled by enterprise mobility result in improved
information flow both to and from the central fixed information system. The mobile computer enables
quick and efficient information retrieval from the central information system. The ability to access
central information and make fixed or ad hoc queries of corporate databases enables employees to get
the information they need to complete the job. The mobile computer also enables transmission of
current operational data, in native digital format, from the mobile user to the central fixed information

Female Genital Mutilation is Sexual Abuse Essay
Female circumcision, also known as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), is a very dangerous surgery. It
is done to girls of any age, from a few days old to right before their wedding. The most common age is
three. In most countries where
FGM is practiced the clitoris is considered dangerous to the man. At one point they thought that if a
penis touched a clitoris, it would shrivel up and fall off.
Girls in Africa and parts of Asia are genitally mutilated for family honor, cleanliness, protection
against spells, insurance of virginity and faithfulness to the husband, or to terrorize women out of sex.
In the late 70 s and early 80 s parts of
Europe and the United States used circumcision as a way to cure over sexed or

The third type,
Infibulation, is the most severe and harmful type. In infibulation, the entire clitoris and both labia are
removed. Then the remaining tissue of the vulva are pinned together by catgut or silk sutures. A tiny
slit, for urination and menstruation, is left open by inserting a sliver of wood, a matchstick, or reed
into the vagina. After the surgery, the girl is bound from hip to ankle and kept immobile for 40 days.
This allows scar tissue to form. All three types result in many harmful effects. Most of the effects of
FGM are caused by the surgery taking place in an unsanitary environment. Kitchen knives, scissors,
razor blades, or pieces of glass are the most common instruments used for the cutting. Unless
performed in a hospital, the cutting tool is generally rusty and very dirty. Instead of sterilizing the
instrument between surgeries, it is placed on dirt, ashes, or cow dung. This results in many infections.
Using the same tool on several girls also promotes the spread of HIV. Due to loss of blood and pain
many girls suffer from shock. Many women suffer from pelvic complications. Also urinary retention
and urinary tract infections are common among circumcised women. Due to loss of blood many of the
girls suffer from week bones, often resulting in fractures and breaks. The loss of the clitoris makes it
impossible for the woman to have an orgasm. If the person performing the

Symbolism In Lamb To The Slaughter
Rationale: I was inspired by the character and language usage in Lamb to the Slaughter. I have
attempted to show Mary s behavior and thoughts through visual imagery (e.g. licking black lipstick to
return to red lips), symbolism (e.g. red lips symbolize new life), foreshadowing (e.g. she had loved
him), starting sentences with conjunctions (and, so) and black comedy (Mary was secretly dating
another person as well), all literary devices used in the original story. I have also focused more on
describing setting instead of characters, similar to the original story. The title of my pastiche is A
leopard cannot change its spots. Like the original title, this is a biblical phrase with a reference to an
animal. The title means that like how a leopard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The photo that the deceased woman had in her purse was still lying on the floor, along with the
woman s shoeprints on the carpet and a few drops of blood near the window. One of the police held up
the photo and looked at the body, and exclaimed, Guys! The deceased is the person in this photo with
Patrick! Realizing that the woman had been in the house and that this woman had some connection to
Patrick, all suspicion fell on Mary. Throughout all this the meaty fragrance of cooked lamb floated
throughout the house. The police asked, Mary. Did you kill this woman and Patrick? No, of course
not! Mary knelt down and placed her face in her hands, making sniffling sounds. Why would I kill my
dear Patrick? Mary started bawling. Even though every piece of evidence pointed to Mary, they had
yet to discover the weapon of murder. Mary, wiping up her last tears, said, What do you think about
thyme and lamb? You think they go well together? Mary, this is serious, another person has died. What
about basil? I love basil. I water it everyday. Mary continued talking about herbs. The police, unable
to find the weapon and hence unable to prove Mary is the murderer, left. They all thought Mary had

Comparing Julius Caesar And Antony
Octavian and Antony No contemporaries could have possibly known for sure as to who the victor
would be from the conflict that arose between Gaius Julius Ceasar Octavianus, Octavian, and Marcus
Antonius, Antony. However, knowing what the ultimate outcome of the struggle was, one may be able
to look back into history and offer key reasons as to why Octavian was able to defeat Antony.
Ultimately, I believe there was not one key reason for Octavian victory. It was a combination of
Octavian s proximity to Rome, his favor with the citizens, and the elimination of his opposition at
home that all combined to allow his eventual triumph. Overlooking some smaller details, it is first
important to know that after Julius Ceasar s assassination that Octavian was named his heir and
returned to Italy to claim this inheritance. From here, he gathered military power and allowed the
senate to use him, in order to advance his political position, and he was sent to fight against a
rebellious Antony. At this point, Octavian did not try to decimate Antony s forces, instead he proposed
and ultimately formed the second triumvirate with Antony and Lepidus as the other heads of the state
(Wells 13). From here, the Roman territories were divided into areas of governorship with Antony
taking the east, Octavian the west, and Lepidus had the Africa territories (Wells 17). This would turn
out to be one of the main contributing factors in Octavian s ultimate success; for it allowed him the
opportunity

Respect And Disrespect In Society
What is the definition of respect? Respect is defined as the quality or state of being esteemed
according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary. Society, thus far, has been based off of respect, but in a
world where respect has seemed to have begun to start disappearing; what exactly could happen to
society itself? Society can handle some disrespect but if disrespect begins to take control, disrespect
could very well become the new norm and lead to dangerous consequences down the road.
Respect has been around since the dawn of the human race. Leaders have been granted respect from
making a tough decision in hard times to authoritative positions. Respect is not a trait that has the
capability to be gained overnight. Respect is a trait that can be wiped away from just one mistake an
individual makes. Leaders have a huge impact on society. For example, current President Donald
Trump, has received huge amounts of disrespect from decisions he has made while in office or
remarks he made on the campaign trail. This form of disrespect has huge consequences on society.
Society is not functioning in a healthy way due to examples like this. This is not about whether an
individual likes the President or not this is about showing respect. When the youth see this form of
disrespect, it lays the grounds for how the youth will teach their children. Could society really
function with this continuing growth of disrespect? I do not believe society can survive if there is no

Origin And Development Of Hunting
Origin and Development of Hunting in Humans Everyday humans around the world consume meat for
nutritional value and; though it is out of mind, survival. When we plan to acquire meat today it is
typically purchased from a store where it had been processed and packaged. However the process of
acquiring this valuable protein was not always so simple. It has been proposed since the time of
Darwin and his theory of Evolution that it was our initial conversion into omnivores who both hunted
and gathered that gave us the extra nutrients to further develop as an intelligent race. Not only did
meat help enlarge brain size but it has been argued to shape our morphology which further aided in
hunting and survival on the savannah rather than in trees. Darwin s evolutionary studies have
remained unchallenged until recently. Darwin specified hominization began when our ancestors
abandoned the trees, embraced an upright bipedal gait, and began using their free hands to create and
use tools. Tools became vital for the purpose of hunting and carcass processing. Darwin explained that
meat, obtained through hunting, became the most stimulating component in hominid adaptation to
savannas. Triggering a progressive increase in brain size, meat subsequently led to increased
intelligence. Another element surrounding this theory of evolution suggests men are superior in mental
endowment to women. Hunting being primarily a male activity and gathering primarily for females its
possible gender

The Growth Of Eco Friendly And Reliable Methods For Our...
Introduction
During the course of human history, fungi has always been used as food and exploited to preserve and
ferment beverages and foods. By the twentieth century, we had learned to protect human health by
harnessing fung (immunosuppressive agents, anti cholesterol statins and antibiotics), while industries
made us of fungi to support large scale production of acids, biosurfactants and enzymes. In the 1980 s,
with the dawn of fresh nanotechnology, fungi had remained important by being able to synthesize
nanoparticles.
Nanoparticles or nanomaterials are materials including particles or constituents that are of nanoscale
proportions, or something that has been produced via nanotechnology. Biologically hazardous or
environmentally toxic reducing agents are normally associated in the nanoparticles chemical
synthesis. Today, the growth of eco friendly and reliable methods for the production of nanomaterials
is a vital facet of nanotechnology. One such approach that has shown potential beyond measure is
centred on the use of biological micro organisms, such as fungi for the biosynthesis of these
nanoparticles.
Fungi can invariably be used for the synthesizing of metallic nanoparticles from their salt, since fungi
contain enzymes and proteins as reducing agents. Should be cautious while handling them during
experiments, as some fungi are disease causing. Fungal biomass generally grows quicker than that of
bacteria in consistent conditions. While production of metal

  • 2. Hip Hop And The Music Genre What is Hip Hop? According to Encyclopedia Britannica, Hip Hop can be delineated as a music genre consisting of a stylized rhythmic music that commonly accompanies rapping, a rhythmic and rhyming speech that is chanted.1 Originating from a disparaged subculture in the South Bronx and eagerly spreading through other sectors of New York City during the 1970 s, Hip Hop evolved from formerly being a relatively fraudulent style to currently being a commercialized and disseminated music genre among diverse areas around the globe. Hip hop s evolution into a composition distinct from R B ensued around the time that drum machines and sampling technology became widely available to the general public at a financially affordable cost for the average consumer. Turntablist techniques (i.e. scratching, beat mixing, matching, and beat juggling) ultimately developed along with the breaks, producing a base that could be rapped over, in a manner similar to signifying, as well as percussive breaks (an influence found in Jamaican dub music). The art of manipulating sound and creating illustrious music were few of the techniques that identified the aeon of the hip hop genre: Three of whom will be presented The Diamond Era (1983 1988), The Golden Era (1989 1993), and The Silver Age (1994 1998). To commence, the first era (The Diamond Era) arose in the year 1983. Although Hip Hop emerged before 1983, The Diamond era predates the introduction of a new foundation to the hip hop genre with ... Miller s Dramatic Effects of Dishonesty in Death of a Salesman Introduction ============ Dishonesty is common throughout Death of a Salesman. Whether the lies are intentional or delusional, Willy, Biff, and Happy tell untruths all the time, Biff finally realizes that they ve been lying to each other and themselves so much, that they don t even know who they really are. Dishonesty is also highlighted by Willy s relationship with the woman and his delusion in relation to his career. The fact that it does not occur to either of the boys that there s something wrong with this is very shocking and the audience is left to wonder how they developed such an attitude Biff Biff is deceitful about his life but his dishonesty is compounded, as Willy is dishonest about him. When Biff stole a football from the locker room when he was in high school, and he claimed that he took it because the coach told him to work on his passing. Willy acts for a moment as if Biff should return it, but when Hap implies that Biff was wrong for taking the ball, Willy defends Biff and declares that the coach, rather than being angry with Biff for stealing, would have been proud and impressed with Biff s initiative. Willy tells Biff that it s OK that he took the ball because the coach likes him. Willy tells his son it s perfectly fine to steal from people, as long as you are well liked; they ll let you get away with it. Willy finds it impossible to understand how someone who was as popular and well liked as Biff was in high school, could have grown up to be such a failure. Willy always believed that Biff s popularity would naturally lead to great success in the business world. But that s not the way things have worked out for Biff, and Willy is baffled by it. Willy shows this by telling Biff to pretend his work out West was business related instead ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Apartheid Of South Africa Essay South Africa, after experiencing the apartheid, is trying their best to overcome the apartheid. Now, the country even has its own leader. He is Jacob Zuma. It is already his second term as a president.( News, B. (2016, August 5)) The country went over a lot of things, and the history of democratic political system is not very long for them. English and Dutch colonized South Africa in the seventeenth century. After South Africa got its independence from England, Afrikaner National Party became a majority. This was the result of two groups trying to gain the most power, and the Afrikaner National Party won. After the independence and apartheid they experienced, there was the first non racial elections in 1994. After that, parliamentary republic was elected after replacing constitution of Interim Constitution in 1197, February 4th. After the independence, South Africa tried its best to be non racist and get out of the apartheid they struggled. South Africa elected its own president, and aimed to be democratic. Even though South Africa now is not fully settled democratic system, they are still struggling and trying hard to be fully democratic. (The History of Apartheid in South Africa.) South Africa once again, tried its best and still trying to be a democratic country. However, the second largest party, DA, was under the control of apartheid even though the party opposed apartheid laws. That is why DA changed its route to be more conventional liberal, which opposed ANC.( ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Effects Of Stereotyping In The Workplace Stereotyping, in general, is the perception of individuals or groups based on preconceived notions about what is generally accepted as true about that person or group rooted in their background (DuBrin, 2009). Stereotyping can encompass ethnicity, religion, culture, race, age, or gender. Stereotyping within the workplace often leads to discriminatory practices perpetuating common negative effects. Based off of these preconceived notions about people sometimes is propagated by employees within an organization usually where the culture promotes or open displays instances of discrimination, whether it be intentional or not. The overreaching conclusion is that stereotyping causes low morale and sense of worth to the organization. Constant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A movement that has evolved women from what used to be mainly office support, teaching, and nursing positions to law, banking and information technology. Since the 1early 1900 s, this shift has had a significant impact on the social and economic empowerment of women, increasing the GDP of the United States by as much as twenty one percent (Rudman Kilianski, 2000). Female entrepreneurs and business executives continue to make annual gains, yet stereotypes, prejudice and unequal earnings compensation continue to be an issue. Gender Stereotyping Leveling playing field in the workplace has been full of obstacles. However, what continues to be hampering additional advances have been the persistent cultural and personal stereotypes of the roles of women in the workplace. Despite numerous reports that confirm companies with higher numbers of female board members are more financially solvent, professional environments continually lean more heavily towards the hiring of men their female counterparts (Bergmann, 1989). women. Of course, companies typically want to hire the most talented candidates that adhere to the company culture, yet research has shown that there is a trend in which executives and managers hire and promote others that reflect their own values and views of the world. It stands to reason that with 70% of managers in the top Fortune 500 companies in the United States are men (Eagley Karau, 2002), ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Good Communication Is Effective Communication Good communication is effective communication; it provides direction, a clear goal, and encourages the flow of ideas. Successful communication is achieved through a variety of methods, but most importantly, it begins with a foundation of security and trust within the team. Successful Communication Over the past few weeks my group has been using our group discussion board as our primary method of communication. Since beginning our power point project we have been posting updates, questions and simple check ins to see how each member of the group is coming along with their portion of the PowerPoint assignment. Our key to success has been because of our communication; this is especially important because we are a virtual group. We touch base with each other regularly for multiple reasons, the first being the need to establish a relationship. In contrast to teams who meet face to face on a regular basis, we cannot pick up on non verbal clues that are expressed through body language, nor are we able to establish an emotional connection with one another; with that being said, we must maintain regular contact in order to build a rapport. Secondly, regular communication allowed us to report progress and drawbacks that may hinder our success. Moreover, scheduling regular periods of communication enforced accountability by instituting periodic milestones of progress. In previous experiences I have had working in collaborative groups, in regard to the importance of communication, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Disadvantages Of Geography In the US, 1 out of 3 children are overweight, making childhood obesity the number one health concern for parents. This is the complete opposite in Yemen, as there are around 400,000 children there that suffer from malnutrition, causing a child to die every 10 minutes from diseases related to starvation. All over the world, countries are at different levels of technological advancements, but where do these disparities come from? How could one place become so much more advanced than others? The answer to inequality starts with geography. Europe s geographical placement gave Europeans the advantage of having abundant, nutritious crops, giving them domesticable animals. Having these animals leads to the spread of germs between humans and animals. Their geography also gave them everything necessary for steel production. All these advantages gave the Europeans the ability to decimate other cultures and appropriate their resources, giving them more power. The first step to development is agriculture. A civilization s latitude or geographic location affects the place s amount of sunlight and the number of seasons they get, dictating the climate. The climate affects the crops they can grow, which in turn controls how productive the people can be, leading to development. Civilizations that lack plentiful and nutritional crops have less time to be productive and develop than those who do. The geography of a place, or the latitude line they are on controls seasons. A place such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Throughput Is A Efficient Measure Of Productivity In the goal, throughput is defined as the speed in which the manufacturing process produces money through sales. This compares with the traditional definition of throughput as the time it takes for a product to enter the manufacturing process and leave as a finished good. I find Goldratt s definition to be a more efficient measure of productivity. With the traditional definition of throughput it is merely measuring the time it takes for a product to be produced from start to finish. However, this does not take into account whether or not the finished products are being sold or sitting on a shelf. This is why Goldratt s definition of throughput is more efficient measure because if the product is not being sold it is not being accounted for. The second term defined is inventory, which is the amount of money the manufacturing plant has spent on things they anticipate to sell. Traditionally inventory is defined as a list of materials or parts in stock on hand for use. The Goal s definition is more accurate because it takes into account other costs of the inventory not just the material itself. There are raw materials, work in process inventory, and finished goods inventory. In the Goal they accounted for the holding costs to store finished products not yet sold as inventory. The third term defined is operational expense, is defined as the total money spent to convert inventory to throughput. When watching a movie one can see more clearly how society is and how it is viewed. Major social issues such as gender, race and ethnicity, social class, and sexuality are among the things that are portrayed in movies. Race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and class are socially constructed abstractions along with relationships are organized. There is a scene in the remake that is very reflective of society today and its views on race. This scene shows the perspective view of whites and blacks today. Though this scene is a setup which is planned by the heist team it is still representative of society s views today. In this scene Bernie Mac s character is acting as if he must be fired from his job at the casino as a blackjack dealer. Matt Damon s character is acting as if he is from the NGC and he is informing the casino owner that the African American dealer that is employed at his casino is an ex convict. Mac s character reacts and says, God damn cracker ; this comment is accusing Damon s character of being racist against him. Mac then goes on to say a black man can t earn a decent wage in this state . Analysis of Mozart s K. 515 Mvt. 1 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Quintet No. 3 in C major, K. 515 Andrew McGuire Dr. Burkart MUSHIS 200 11/19/2012 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a prodigy of his time, and arguable the greatest of all time. This paper will discuss an analysis of his third string quintet in C major, K. 515. Through this piece in Sonata Form we will dissect the exposition, the development, the recapitulation, and the coda; along with an analysis of the quintet we will briefly discuss parts of Mozart s life, as well as look at the background of the Viola Quintet No. 3 in C Major, K. 515. Delving deeper into the coda we find theme two reoccurring in the tonic key, this time not segregated by instrument parts. Figure [ 6 ] After the brief return of theme two between the cello and violas we end happily on the tonic of the piece. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. Not only this piece but also this assignment. It is one thing to sit in class and read about and take notes over sonata allegro form. It is completely another to be expected to dive deeper into a piece and try to figure out its inner most workings. As a violist I also appreciate the fact that Mozart went against the normality of the cello quintet and wrote a viola quintet. The fact he was willing to go against what was expected of him by society makes me respect him as a composer even more. After a glimpse into the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, we have discussed his Quintet No. 3 in C major. Discussed its themes and their placement, as well as briefly the variations of these themes. According to Helen Keller being able to literally see worth nothing when you are mentally blind that is, not being able to see things beyond the surface. During their meeting Teiresias tells Oedipus You have your eyes but see not where you are in sin, nor whom you live with. Here Sophocles uses the prophet s words to emphasise Oedipus lack of foresight and through this metaphor of sight, he also reveals ironically that the blind prophet has a greater ability to see what is happening in Oedipus life unlike Oedipus who sees and understand none and has no idea of what is happening and will happen to him. The visual aspects of Imitation of Life are more discreet; the color is slightly more realistic, in part because the newer Eastman color technology was used instead of Technicolor (Bordwell 357). The outdoor scenes are lavish but authentic, due to the larger budget of the film and the desire not to draw as much attention away from the more complex and socially important plot. Visual realism, however, was never a goal of melodrama. In fact, melodramas had a variety of visual techniques designed to remind the audience that they weren t real. Extreme high and low camera angles, the placement of large objects in the foreground, visual blocks (like columns) separating characters, and non natural lighting were jarring to the audience and were a manifestation of the inner tensions of the characters (FilmFrog 5). The idea behind these tactics was that As soon as the audience is reminded that they are watching a contrived reality, that only within this artificial world are social problems worked out so neatly, the prosocial fiction is cast in doubt (Schatz 249). But this most likely was not the true effect on most audiences, who although they may have understood the social issues presented, probably did not pick up on the symbolism and technique especially since melodramas weren t even analyzed academically until the 1970s (Klinger 2). ... Instead of sterilizing the instrument between surgeries, it is placed on dirt, ashes, or cow dung. This results in many infections. Using the same tool on several girls also promotes the spread of HIV. Due to loss of blood and pain many girls suffer from shock. Many women suffer from pelvic complications. Also urinary retention and urinary tract infections are common among circumcised women. Due to loss of blood many of the girls suffer from week bones, often resulting in fractures and breaks. • 30. Symbolism In Lamb To The Slaughter Rationale: I was inspired by the character and language usage in Lamb to the Slaughter. I have attempted to show Mary s behavior and thoughts through visual imagery (e.g. licking black lipstick to return to red lips), symbolism (e.g. red lips symbolize new life), foreshadowing (e.g. she had loved him), starting sentences with conjunctions (and, so) and black comedy (Mary was secretly dating another person as well), all literary devices used in the original story. I have also focused more on describing setting instead of characters, similar to the original story. The title of my pastiche is A leopard cannot change its spots. Like the original title, this is a biblical phrase with a reference to an animal. The title means that like how a leopard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The photo that the deceased woman had in her purse was still lying on the floor, along with the woman s shoeprints on the carpet and a few drops of blood near the window. One of the police held up the photo and looked at the body, and exclaimed, Guys! The deceased is the person in this photo with Patrick! Realizing that the woman had been in the house and that this woman had some connection to Patrick, all suspicion fell on Mary. Throughout all this the meaty fragrance of cooked lamb floated throughout the house. The police asked, Mary. Did you kill this woman and Patrick? No, of course not! Mary knelt down and placed her face in her hands, making sniffling sounds. Why would I kill my dear Patrick? Mary started bawling. Even though every piece of evidence pointed to Mary, they had yet to discover the weapon of murder. Mary, wiping up her last tears, said, What do you think about thyme and lamb? You think they go well together? Mary, this is serious, another person has died. What about basil? I love basil. I water it everyday. Mary continued talking about herbs. The police, unable to find the weapon and hence unable to prove Mary is the murderer, left. They all thought Mary had lost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Comparing Julius Caesar And Antony Octavian and Antony No contemporaries could have possibly known for sure as to who the victor would be from the conflict that arose between Gaius Julius Ceasar Octavianus, Octavian, and Marcus Antonius, Antony. However, knowing what the ultimate outcome of the struggle was, one may be able to look back into history and offer key reasons as to why Octavian was able to defeat Antony. Ultimately, I believe there was not one key reason for Octavian victory. It was a combination of Octavian s proximity to Rome, his favor with the citizens, and the elimination of his opposition at home that all combined to allow his eventual triumph. Overlooking some smaller details, it is first important to know that after Julius Ceasar s assassination that Octavian was named his heir and returned to Italy to claim this inheritance. From here, he gathered military power and allowed the senate to use him, in order to advance his political position, and he was sent to fight against a rebellious Antony. At this point, Octavian did not try to decimate Antony s forces, instead he proposed and ultimately formed the second triumvirate with Antony and Lepidus as the other heads of the state (Wells 13). From here, the Roman territories were divided into areas of governorship with Antony taking the east, Octavian the west, and Lepidus had the Africa territories (Wells 17). This would turn out to be one of the main contributing factors in Octavian s ultimate success; for it allowed him the opportunity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Respect And Disrespect In Society What is the definition of respect? Respect is defined as the quality or state of being esteemed according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary. Society, thus far, has been based off of respect, but in a world where respect has seemed to have begun to start disappearing; what exactly could happen to society itself? Society can handle some disrespect but if disrespect begins to take control, disrespect could very well become the new norm and lead to dangerous consequences down the road. Respect has been around since the dawn of the human race. Leaders have been granted respect from making a tough decision in hard times to authoritative positions. Respect is not a trait that has the capability to be gained overnight. Respect is a trait that can be wiped away from just one mistake an individual makes. Leaders have a huge impact on society. For example, current President Donald Trump, has received huge amounts of disrespect from decisions he has made while in office or remarks he made on the campaign trail. This form of disrespect has huge consequences on society. Society is not functioning in a healthy way due to examples like this. This is not about whether an individual likes the President or not this is about showing respect. When the youth see this form of disrespect, it lays the grounds for how the youth will teach their children. Could society really function with this continuing growth of disrespect? I do not believe society can survive if there is no more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Origin And Development Of Hunting Origin and Development of Hunting in Humans Everyday humans around the world consume meat for nutritional value and; though it is out of mind, survival. When we plan to acquire meat today it is typically purchased from a store where it had been processed and packaged. However the process of acquiring this valuable protein was not always so simple. It has been proposed since the time of Darwin and his theory of Evolution that it was our initial conversion into omnivores who both hunted and gathered that gave us the extra nutrients to further develop as an intelligent race. Not only did meat help enlarge brain size but it has been argued to shape our morphology which further aided in hunting and survival on the savannah rather than in trees. Darwin s evolutionary studies have remained unchallenged until recently. Darwin specified hominization began when our ancestors abandoned the trees, embraced an upright bipedal gait, and began using their free hands to create and use tools. Tools became vital for the purpose of hunting and carcass processing. Darwin explained that meat, obtained through hunting, became the most stimulating component in hominid adaptation to savannas. Triggering a progressive increase in brain size, meat subsequently led to increased intelligence. Another element surrounding this theory of evolution suggests men are superior in mental endowment to women. Hunting being primarily a male activity and gathering primarily for females its possible gender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Growth Of Eco Friendly And Reliable Methods For Our... Introduction During the course of human history, fungi has always been used as food and exploited to preserve and ferment beverages and foods. By the twentieth century, we had learned to protect human health by harnessing fung (immunosuppressive agents, anti cholesterol statins and antibiotics), while industries made us of fungi to support large scale production of acids, biosurfactants and enzymes. In the 1980 s, with the dawn of fresh nanotechnology, fungi had remained important by being able to synthesize nanoparticles. Nanoparticles or nanomaterials are materials including particles or constituents that are of nanoscale proportions, or something that has been produced via nanotechnology. Biologically hazardous or environmentally toxic reducing agents are normally associated in the nanoparticles chemical synthesis. Today, the growth of eco friendly and reliable methods for the production of nanomaterials is a vital facet of nanotechnology. One such approach that has shown potential beyond measure is centred on the use of biological micro organisms, such as fungi for the biosynthesis of these nanoparticles. Fungi can invariably be used for the synthesizing of metallic nanoparticles from their salt, since fungi contain enzymes and proteins as reducing agents. Should be cautious while handling them during experiments, as some fungi are disease causing. Fungal biomass generally grows quicker than that of bacteria in consistent conditions. While production of metal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
