Tuberculosis Is A Disease Caused By Mycobacterium...
Introduction
When looking to educate myself on the most commonly seen health conditions in hospitals, I turned to
Mrs. Tonya Simpson RN, a registered nurse at St. Joseph hospital in New Jersey. Mrs. Simpson
informed me that Tuberculosis is a disease that she sees profusely at St. Joseph hospital. During the
interview I gained great insight on why she chose this particular disease, the etiology, the frequency,
prevalence, pathophysiology, signs/symptoms, treatments, and the prognosis of Tuberculosis.
Etiology
During the interview with healthcare provider Mrs. Tonya Simpson, she when in great detail
explaining that Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This is a
disease that affects the lungs and can be transmitted from person to person by coughing, face to face
conversing, sneezing, and even breathing the same air of an infected person can spread the disease. A
profuse amount of people have TB, but the bacteria is not active, which prevents them from being
contagious (T. Simpson, personal communication, March 25, 2015). It is only when the disease is
presented to be active that it can be transmitted. Seniors and children have a greater risk to be infected
with Tuberculosis due to their weak immune systems.
Incidence and Prevalence In 2013 Tuberculosis had a total of 9,588 new tuberculosis (TB) cases
reported in the United States, with an incidence rate of 3.0 cases per 100,000 population, a decrease of
4.2% from 2012 (Negar Niki Alami,

The World Under 17 And College Hockey
Prospect Faceoff: World Under 17 s comes to a conclusion, European talents go head to head in the
OHL, plus more from junior/college hockey The World Under 17 Hockey Challenge pits two
countrymen against each other as the tournament comes to a conclusion this week. There is also a pair
of International talents going one on one for the first time in their careers in the OHL, while another
strong European is leading the way for his squad against one of the QMJHL s most feared forwards. In
the WHL, two of the league s top defenseman are a big part of their respective team s success, while a

As the first overall pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, a lot has been expected of the young man
and he has delivered. Also with four goals and four assists for his OHL team in Sudbury, Levin s
interesting background has not overshadowed his hockey prowess. Alex Nylander (Mississauga) vs.
Pavel Jenys (Sudbury) OHL David Levin s Sudbury Wolves are in action this weekend, where they
will have to defend against one of the most electric playmakers in the league, Alex Nylander. Already
drawing rave reviews with his tremendous one on one ability, Nylander has been a regular on the OHL
s highlight reel so far this season. His 10 goals and 11 assists have him in the top ten in OHL scoring,
and he is eight points clear of the next highest rookie scorer, Max Jones of the London Knights. With a
strong family connection in the Toronto area with his father, Michael, an assistant coach with the
Steelheads and older brother William making waves in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, Alex is
certainly worthy of Rookie of the Year consideration already. Another interesting European competing
in the OHL is Pavel Jenys, who was a late addition to the team this year after the Minnesota Wild kept
him for a long look at training camp. Jenys played in eight AHL games last year, where he picked up
three assists after the OHL season came to an early conclusion.. Jenys addition to the team was a
major pickup for a team that desperately needed a

Silk Roads Or Steppe Roads In World History, By David...
David Christian proved his passion for digging deeper into history through use of writing the article
Silk Roads or Steppe Roads? The Silk Roads in World History, published in the eleventh edition of the
Journal of World History, in the spring of 2000 by the University of Hawaii Press. Christian points out
that trans ecological exchanges are not fully appreciated and recognized in conventional
historiography about the Silk Roads; he believes they should be since they play an important role in
the expansion of the roads in the North and were apart of the flourishing of the Silk Roads. In David s
article, he recognizes different interpretations of the Silk Roads throughout different regions and time
periods and relies on a plethora of sources to do. Christian recognizes that the Silk Roads are
ingrained into historiography of China, the Mediterranean world, inner and central Asia, and also play
a vital role as links between different regions of the Afro Eurasian landmass. As mentioned previously,
this article observes that historiography focuses on the trade between trans civilizational societies and
credits them as important to expansion and success of empires and trans civilizational regions. In later
centuries, the historiography describes the flux and flow of the Silk Roads flourishing. Through the
use of sources, Christian describes these successes to have been at peak from 100 CE to the first,
second and third centuries.
The Golden Era was claimed to have ended after the Mongol period, due to being out shadowed by
other trade routes and sea routes. However, the article acknowledged that trans Asian trade and travel
later resumed, but the Silk Roads would never return to their original flourishing state. Different
interpretations of the Silk Roads continued throughout Christian s article. Conventional historiography
in the classical era depicts that the birth of the Silk Roads dates from the opening of the state
sponsored trade between China and Central Asia at the end of the second century BCE. However,
David argues that Eurasian steppeland had vigorous systems of trans Eurasian exchanges before then.
Leaders in that time basically got handed pre established trade systems and routes.

Romero Britto Research Paper
Romero Britto is a twentieth and twenty first century pop artist who was born in Recife, Brazil on
October 6, 1963. He is the seventh child of nine and he is currently married to Cheryl Britto with a son
named Brendan. Romero lived an adequate life with his brothers and sister as a child and was first
introduced to art when he was just a young child. He did not capture the full understanding of
becoming an artist for a career until the day his older brother showed him books that were about
famous artists such as Toulouse Launtrec. Britto became inspired and began copying these fine art
pieces from the books the next day. Originally, Britto embraced art to escape from the real world even
through his early twenties when he was working to get into law school. He of course eventually
dropped out of law school to study art in Europe. Britto traveled to Paris where he was introduced to
the works and artistic techniques of Matisse and Picasso. Romero has explored with many media
including watercolor, pen and ink, serigraphy, lithography, acrylic, and even finger paint. He uses
many forms of Cubism in his pop art along with his signature bright colors and bold patterns. ... Show

Britto decided to move to Miami and set up an art studio that was open to the public. Due to his true
passion and belief in his art, Romero spent a few years working hard on his art, exhibiting it, and
attracting much attention. In 1988, he was one of the few selected, along with Andy Warhol and Keith
Haring, for Absolut Vodka s Absolut Art campaign. Through his art he has combined forms of cubism
and pop to create an incredibly new and fresh style. The New York Times even acknowledged his art
and said that it exudes warmth, optimism, and

Women Of Latin American Culture
Women of Latin American culture have incessantly ensued the potent gender roles that have become a
social construction of their society over innumerable decades. The profound author of Insurgent
Mexico, John Reed, imparts his experiences with the revolutionary leaders of the Mexican Revolution,
like Pancho Villa, and was able to witness their culture and more specifically the roles these Mexican
women were forced to render by their chauvinistic counterparts. This period of revolution, started to
grant women new mantles usually reserved only for men, like participating in fighting for the success
of the revolution; any preeminent changes would soon approach, but in the meantime Mexican society
run by men enjoyed the regulated traditional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Reed s accounts he expressed how he heard the angry voice of the master of the house reminded the
woman that she was not doing five or six things at once in which his woman would then go attend to
the orders he had just given (Reed, 17). There is an order of importance to note that Reed always
refers to these Mexican women as the man s woman and never their wife, however when he speaks
through the woman s account he refers to the man as their husband. There is more respect demanded
from the women of Mexican culture during the early 1900s because the men viewed their laborious
work that brings in money as a means to deserve to be treated like masters of their family. The
specifically crafted language Reed uses when he speaks of the labor the women perform, can
demonstrate that he realizes they are weary and overworked. Along with everything Reed includes
when he is describing the women work, there is important to also note that he omits any complaints
made by women to their husbands. Throughout the novel in any interaction between and man and his
woman, never did the woman complain about her arduous work and the commands she received. The
work women did in Mexican culture is expected of them and it ties into machismo on part of the men
because they feel their job is only to bring income while the wives took care of the rest. Taking this
into account, Reed portrays these women to be tolerant and respectful not only to these men in their
lives they

Environmental Justice Strategic Plan Paper
The U.S.D.A. Environmental Justice Strategic Plan of 2016 2020 was developed in an effort to
provide equitable conditions throughout every community in the United States of America. The goals
that have developed to reach the equality in all communities has to consider climate changes unlike
other strategic plans. The key priorities for this strategic plan are many and varied. For example, one is
to increase public participation, opportunities for minorities, low income, American Indians and
Alaska natives. This plan is a malleable to adjust for the best results. However, it does contain parts
that are immovable. This Strategic plan is a directive from the Secretary of Agriculture to each

engage the communities in the decision making process. Yet again, Goal 2 has in place agency
performance measures and target dates to ensure accountability and implementation of this goal.
Lastly, Goal 3 purpose is to expand participation in program operations, planning activities, and
decision making processes to benefit environmental justice communities. This goal has objectives that
stress public participation, outreach and collaboration in relationship to programs, planning and
decision making of activities. The overall objective to this Goal is to ensure that the public is both
involved in identifying, avoiding and minimizing environmental justice concerns. In addition, another
objective to this Goal is maintenance and assurance of Tribal Relations. Furthermore, another

Bashmatchkin s Pride In The Overcoat, By Nikolai Gogol
In The Overcoat, Nikolai Gogol reveals just how shallow and judgmental humans are about the
appearance and social status of their peers. Bashmatchkin s coworkers do not respect him. No respect
at all was shown him in the department. The porters, far from getting up from their seats when he
came in, took no more notice of him than if a simple fly had flown across the reception room (762).
The reason for their attitude towards him is because of his appearance. He looks a bit unkempt in
comparison to his coworkers, specifically because of his ratty old coat, and they see him as being
beneath them; they make fun of him because of this. The young clerks jeered and made jokes at him to
the best of their clergy wit, and told before his face all sorts of stories of their own invention about
him (762). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a new coat made. When his new coat is finished and he wears it to work, suddenly everyone has a
change of heart about Bashmatchkin. They all ran out at once into the cloakroom to look at Akaky
Akakievich s new overcoat; they began welcoming him and congratulating him (771). Bashmatchkin
is even invited to a party this same day, all because he got a new coat. Bashmatchkin goes from being

The Average Age Of Onset Of Generalized Anxiety Disorder
The average age of onset of generalized anxiety disorder is 31 years old. Generalized anxiety disorder
affects about 6.8 million American adults. This disorder can develop at any point in the life cycle, but
the highest risk is between childhood and middle age.
Individuals who suffer from GAD can t relax; they startle easily, and have difficulty concentrating.
Often they have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Some physical symptoms include fatigue,
headaches, muscle tension, muscle aches, difficulty swallowing, trembling, twitching, irritability,
sweating, nausea, lightheadedness, having to go to the bathroom frequently, feeling out of breath, and
hot flashes.
Researchers have found that several parts of the brain are involved in fear and anxiety. Researchers are
also looking for ways in which stress and environmental factors may play a role.
GAD has many relations to associated problems from obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder
Agoraphobia, post traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, depression,
stress to suicide, and more.
Freud distinguished that chronic anxiety was prevalent in the general population, and to this day, there
is inadequate information about the natural history of this disorder.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is an effective treatment for many people, it helps them to identify,
understand, and modify faulty thinking and behavior patterns. This enables people with GAD learn to
control their worry. Some

The Causes Of Human Growth And The Endocrine System
In mammals, we find that the body requires certain systems to function properly and effectively in
order to grow. The endocrine system is one of the physiological systems that primarily regulates
growth and plays a vital role in the onset of post natal growth as well as the onset and cessation of
pubertal growth. There are also other contributors such as nutrition and genetics, etc. that influence
these growth patterns. The endocrine system is a vital messaging system that relies completely on
hormone delivery to specific cells. The medium of this delivery is the blood in the venous system
which means that the hormones secreted can reach target cells often located far from the endocrine
glands; this is an efficient method as the endocrine system regulates activities that require duration
rather than speed. This efficient system means that homeostasis can be maintained. As the hormones
are distributed in the blood through the venous system, this results in the whole body being exposed to
these hormones and therefore the fact that only the target cells have specific binding receptors for the
particular hormone means that only those target cells will respond to the exposure of the hormone.
Once the hormone is bound to its specific target cell receptors, a chain of events within the target cells
occurs that brings about the hormones final effect. (Sherwood, 2016)

Phaedrus The Charioteer
In the historically well known work of Phaedrus, written by Plato, the human soul is compared to the
natural union of a team of winged horses and their charioteer (31). This horse drawn chariot is
controlled by a charioteer, which represents the human mind and a voice of reason, while each winged
horse depicts the rational and irrational passions of the human soul. Throughout Phaedrus, Plato
implores the pursuit of philosophy through controlled and modest passions rather than unrestrained
ones. The charioteer is the master of two horses, one of his horses is beautiful and good and from
stock of the same sort, while the other is opposite and has the opposite sort of bloodline (31) The
white horse is noble, a lover of honor with modesty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A soul who has wings that are akin to the divine (32) and possess the power to lift up even the most
laden of souls. Virtues such as beauty, wisdom, and goodness help empower and grow the soul s
wings, but foulness and ugliness make the wings shrink and disappear (32). These virtues are
imperative to the cultivation of the soul, for only a philosopher s mind will grow wings, (37), and
without proper nourishment they will not be able to produce a return. Chariots that are reined by the
white horse move easily, since they are balanced and under control, but the other chariots barley make
it (33). A chariot that gives into the untamed nature of the black horse will be pulled towards earth and
will encounter the most extreme toil and struggle a soul will face (33). It is the charioteers job to guide
these two horses, who often try to go their separate directions, to a place beyond heaven on a quest to
enlightenment and glimpse of Reality (33). One who does not seek to reign in the black horse will
easily be pulled of this path to enlightenment whenever pleasure is presented to the soul. But,
charioteer who yearns to rise with the white horse, will be able to use the black horse s eros, or desire,
as substance if properly

the Signal Corps of the United States Army has had a varied and honored history. Although it began
simply by today s standards, with the use of flags and torches at its inception, through contemporary
times it continues to innovate and embrace technology in order to keep commanders informed and
warfighters communicating. What started as the vision of one man in the mid nineteenth century has

The US Army Signal Corps sent training teams to Vietnam, as well as provided training for
Vietnamese officers in the US. Communist insurgent groups began attacking in South Vietnam, killing
two Americans in 1959. It was during this time that the Army began using atmospheric scatter
technologies, bouncing radio waves off different layers of the atmosphere in order to communicate
beyond line of sight up to 400 miles away. (3) This system was modified to form the tactical
communications backbone for ground troops, where standard Army multi channel radios were utilized
in addition to the new troposcatter radios. Throughout the Vietnam Conflict, though, communication
between the geographically separated ground units and camps was improved through the introduction
of better radio equipment and radio retransmit systems. The milestone achieved in the Vietnam
Conflict, from a signal perspective, was the propagation of high quality commercial communications
to the Soldier in the field. In the years following the Vietnam Conflict and the draft, the Army
downsized yet again, contracting to an all volunteer force. In July of 1973, the Army placed all of its
branch schools under the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and the Army consolidated its
signal training to its training site at Fort Gordon, Georgia. (SOURCE) On October 1, 1974 Fort

Reality Is Seemingly Through Reality Essay
What we believe to be impossible to be achieved through reality is often projected in the unconscious.
Freud theorized that our minds repressed desires that could summon emotions such as guilt or shame,
which could lead to what is called wish fulfillment through dreams, hallucinations, or phases of
neurosis. Experiences of intense dream sequences that involve sexual relations with family members,
or homicide carried out by the individual or others, are examples of wish fulfillment dreams. Said
dreams represent taboos or actions that could result in extreme consequences in reality, so instead, the
impulses or yearnings are satisfied within the unconscious where only the individual can truly gain
access to. To Freud, the mind was a part of us suffering from chronic turmoil, with the ego and the
superego constantly at war with the ID, where impulses rest.
When my dream occurred, the contents, while shocking, did not come as a surprise to me. During that
period, my father had been absent from my life for the most part, causing much distress from my
family as a whole. I had to withdraw from a university I got accepted into because of financial
difficulties, and also pushed back attending community college to work as a hostess in a restaurant to
save up for school resources. It wasn t because we didn t have enough, but because I didn t want my
family to enter such a state due to my father s inability to separate himself from his gambling
addictions. I found myself walking

Rape, Violence, And Feminist Networks
There has been a lot of discussion of rape within sociologists, criminologists, and feminist networks.
In my own words, rape is someone engaging with someone else sexually without their consent. Rape
is not strictly vaginal penetration, nor an exclusive heterosexual only act. If two people are in a
relationship or married, there is still no justification to the perpetrator for their act. In the 21st century,
although rape crimes have dropped 24.1% from 2001 to 2010, but not all rapes are reported (Eitzen,
Zinn, Smith, 2010). Curtis (1997) reported that 42% of rape victims do not tell anyone of their
assaults. There may be a number of reasons why victims don t speak out. Victims of rape typically fear
their own safety and lives if they speak out on it. Men who are victims typically don t report rapes
because it s considered demasculizing to their gender. Rape victims are traumatized for life, they live
with the burden, as their perpetrators walk away free (Curtis, 1997). NPR s Rachel Martin interviewed
author, Jon Krakauer, and they discussed Krakauer s new book on the issue of acquaintance rape.
Curtis (1997) defines acquaintance rape in the situation that the victim knows their assaulter. With the
main subject being acquaintance rape, Krakauer s book focuses on this college town, Missoula, in
Montana. Krakauer tells Martin that 230 rapes have occurred in Missoula, without prosecution (NPR,
2015). From there, Krakauer talks about one of those cases.

What Makes Augustine s Confessions Memorable
Maddie Yamona
Western Civilization II
Mr. Horswell
29 September, 2017
What makes Augustine s Confessions memorable
Augustine s Confessions was a major piece of work that heavily influenced the religion back in his
times. Augustine s Confessions is still read today because of the relatability it shows in aspects of
depression, love, and finding your identity. Throughout the book Augustine goes through his life and
the decisions he has made and how they made him either a better or worse person. We can use
Augustine s Confessions as a tool to also evaluate our own lives and decisions because of the way he
judges himself and what he considers to be the best and worst things he has done and why. Augustine
goes through trying to find himself through things of the world and then finally realizes why he can
not when he steps back and looks at the fact that he must first find himself in God.
Augustine finds himself going through hard times throughout the Confessions and this includes the
struggle with depression. Augustine loses one of his very close friends and begins to become
depressed, I raged and sighed and wept and worried, I could not rest, I could not think intelligent.
(Augustine. 64). When Augustine becomes depressed he says that he does not want to be around
people and people can relate to this because when people are upset they want time to themselves to
think not time around other people. Another example of when Augustine is depressed is when
Augustine realizes how

Pros And Cons Of Corruption In American Prisons
Throughout mankind, the ideas of avarice and prosperity have pushed companies to work harder,
although sometimes this can come with a price. Corruption infiltrates all manners of society like
government and industries and the American prison system is no different. Since America must
provide housing for those who are incarcerated, they build one prison per week due to the increased
rate of criminals (Franklin). Many peoples crimes do not fit their punishment and additionally the
duration of the punishment does not match the crime committed. Why is that? The corruption of state
and local governments have an incentive to maintain a certain population within prisons. This is a
current conflict within the United States. Therefore, state and local governments should not have the
power to dictate the amount people who reside in America s prisons. Further, financial incentives from
companies should be banned from influencing the population of prisons.
In American prisons, inmates have the opportunity which allows them to work a job behind bars, this
helps the prisoner sustain their lives while being imprisoned. Many people believe that prisoners are
adequately paid for their work. On the contrary, they are paid a fraction of the average wage of a
civilian. Additionally, the prison industrial complex is filled with government officials, who profit
from the work of the prisoners and the number of prisons ( Prison Industrial Complex ). Although,

Comprehensive Assessment
Did the exhibition of your work to the public provide you with a worthwhile experience?
Yes, exhibiting my work to the public was a worthwhile experience because it allowed me to see my
project through the eyes of new viewers, as well as over hearing some criticism of my work. Since I
had worked on my project for quite a long time, I became desensitized to my photographs. I did not
see them as revolting anymore, but during the exhibition, I saw a few disgusted reactions. One in
particular was an older woman, who after glancing at my images, made a sour face and immediately

my work in a different way than I do; I thought that my images were fascinating and beautiful, but she

passionate about doing this type of work. Next year, I will be studying art history at Concordia, and I
do not think that I would have considered this if I had not gone through the ALC program, and I also
do think that the theory classes that I took have prepared me for university and future academic

was written using the MLA format, therefore something that I learned how to do in the ALC program

Single Camera Conventions
A single camera production is the use one single camera to film all of the diverse shots. An advantage
of single camera production is the flexibility with shots due to other cameras not being in the frame
and also the low budget. On the other hand, single camera production comes with disadvantages such
as being time consuming and difficult to consistently reposition; furthermore if the camera is damaged
all work may be lost. Within this essay, I will be discussing the elements in which make up a single
camera production along with indicating an understanding of the codes and conventions that relate to
this area of media.

Mirror Image Which character do I relate to the most? In the story Mirror Image, I relate to Jenny the
most. Jenny s current relationship with her sister, Alice, is like my brother and mine. Whenever my
brother and I argue, I respond the same way Jenny does. Jenny and I are awfully distant. Similar to
Jenny restricting her sister from reading her diary, I also have expressed harsh whatever s to my
brother. Just as Jenny is, I am also passive aggressive. Jenny showed that she s quite upset with the
new Alice by calling her Gail . In the same way, I have shown disgust by dropping hints like using one

Being Betrayed, Misunderstood, And Forgotten Had Never...
While trusting someone, the thought of being betrayed, misunderstood, and forgotten had never
crossed my mind. For example, I have a really had habit of putting my trust into people who are
unworthy of it. I hate that I ever put my trust in those people with such personal things in my life. As
bad habit of trusting people, it resulted in regretful decisions. One bad habit of regretfully trusting that
ended in a regretful decision was trusting Leonard because he took my friendship for granted and tried
to use me. Leonard and I met in the fourth grade, and we became best friends instantly. I could tell the
difference between our values throughout the years of our friendship. Leonard was basically spoiled
while I was not. Next, he began to complain about feeling it was beneath him. In my head, I thought
how anyone could be so ungrateful. Leonard was my best friend, so I trusted him to understand my
work situations. Until this one incident that pushed me over the edge with him. While I was away for
eight months at training, I expected for Leonard to understand that with hard work comes
responsibilities. He never thought of how it would affect me if I spent all of my hard earned money on
him. When returned from training, his hand was always out. As a best friend, I helped him when he
asked me for things, but began to regret that decision when he asked me for five hundred dollars to put
a down payment on a car. Army money only stretched so far because I am in a reserve unit. Even

Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to identify which tree nut of the 4 that were tested (hazelnuts,
walnuts, pecans, and almonds) had the highest energy content.
Hypothesis
If different tree nuts are tested for their energy content then the tree nuts with the highest amount of oil
on its exterior (shell) will have the greater energy content, this is because the tree nuts with the greater
oil content will catch fire at a quicker pace than the tree nuts with a smaller oil amount on their outer
shell.

Calorimetry is connected to food which plays a major role in people s daily routine/procedure and
their health. A lot of people usually check the calorie content in their food on a daily basis in order to
assure themselves that they are eating the right amount in order for them to lead a healthy life and stay
in shape. Something that not all people know though is a calorie is a unit of energy. And calorimetry is
what is used to let us know the energy content that is within a certain food. Without calorimetry
people would really have no idea how much they are taking in. Also many people would most likely
be living a way unhealthier life if calorimetry wasn t used, this is because people would not know how
to balance out their diet with exercise. Also they would probably be eating a larger amount of super
unhealthy foods, this is due to the fact that many people like the taste of fatty, calorie high foods that
are not really good for you and if they didn t know the amount of calories inside of those foods than a
lot of people wouldn t even think twice about choosing between a cookie or a carrot. More likely than
unlikely people would choose the cookie over the carrot. So to wrap this all up into one point
calorimetry allows people to live healthier lifestyle than they probably would without it

Some information that we found was that if the police suspects that home holds marijuana, then they
must first get hold of a search warrant under the Fourth Amendment, if not then the police officers
must prove exigent circumstances such as destruction of evidence, hot pursuit, or some other
exception that applies. But the number one guaranteed way for this to go smoothly is to get a search
warrant by a judge. With that being said the police officers could demand and require what they need
from and what they can get from the search warrant. But in order to get a search warrant, the police
officers must provide that they have probable cause that there is marijuana in the house. Even though

way on searching humans, buildings, homes and even vehicles. Now marijuana is generally cultivated
with a lot of high intensity lamps; the police officers can now conduct an infrared scan that creates
thermal images of the outside of the homes. With that being said they can measure the heat originating
from the inside of the house. An example of this new technology would be the case of Kyllo v. United
States, 533 U.S. 27 (2001), basically saying that the police collected info from the ultraviolet scan was
used and can be used with other evidence to create probable cause for a search warrant. Within the
case of Kyllo, the proof that was acquired from the search warrant was in fact used against Kyllo at
his trial for developing marijuana and the court of appeals confirmed the verdict but the Supreme

Discuss The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Division Of Labor
For supporting trade as well as economic interdependence, division of labor creates opportunities for
individual cooperations to cooperate and improve manufacturing and individual labor productivity.
While the corporations can maximize their benefits through surplus value owing to selling product, the
workers have opportunities to get job more easily as well as professional working enviroment by using
modern technology, however, exploitation, effecting workers health and uninspiring job significantly
influence on the workers and even labor productivity. It can be argued that the benefits, workers get
from division of labor, is not considerable.
According to Adam Smith (1976), there are three main advantages of the division of labor. Firstly, ...

time as well as increasing labor productivity. Beside that, in order to concentrate on renovated product

carry out new invested trategy, which supply them with long term employment security, stable salary
expectations and better welfare in order to achieve their long term development goals (Liu Shang,

To coordinate with the machine technology investment, advanced corporate employers will invest a
lot in skills traning for workers. Substantial investments in turn exhance employers ability to improve
human resources management policies to guarantee the long term contractual relationship between
workers does not mean a reduction in their ptofits but is a premise for capital to earn profits. Under
such conditions, technological workersm as an important way for value added, are favourably treated
by capital in some extent, and become the core labor group.

Susan Sontag s Notes On Camp
It is important to first be aware of the concrete definitions of low culture, as defined by Susan Sontag
in her Notes on Camp (1964) Low culture is a derogatory term for popular culture and working class
culture A direct opposite to this is high culture, often favoured by the elite. In which Sontag recognises
that both high culture and low culture are minority cultures. The combined influences of both strains
constitute mainstream culture . Before looking at what low culture Pope drew upon to produce his
own high art it is important to understand the context of Pope s writing and what was going on in
regards to Literary History of that time period.
The English Neo Classical Movement dominated English Literature from the Restoration (1660) to the
lyrical ballads of 1798,1800 and 1802. It is conventionally divided into three parts. These being the
Restoration Age (1600 1700) where figures such as John Milton and John Dryden were renowned.
The Augustan Age (1700 1750) where Alexander Pope himself was a central poetic figure and The
Age of Johnson (1750 1798). The primary focus is of course the Augustan Age, where Pope s work is
prevalent.
The Eighteenth century brought a new war of words, with a quarrel in 1690 s France in L Académie
Française, putting in to place a new historical sense of culture across Europe. The ideology is that
classical authors and learning could not be improved upon or surpassed by modern writers, instead
they should look to imitate the great

How Music Has A Influence On Physical Aspect Of Sexual...
Music has a huge influence on physical aspect of a sexual relationship, as well as the emotional part of
relationships. Music speaks to the mind, body and soul and many singers take advantage of this
influence to express their views on sex and relationships. Song lyrics often have implicit meanings
and literary references. One song in particular called Stimulated, by the rapper Tyga; real name
Michael Ray Nguyen Stevenson portrays the physical aspect of a sexual relationship. In his song
Stimulated, Tyga sings about having sex with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner before she turns eighteen.
The lyrics include They say she young, I should ve waited/She a big girl, dawg, when she stimulated.
These lyrics imply a coarse, vulgar, sparsely disguised metaphor for having sex. The hidden message
in these lyrics is that if the underage girl is stimulated, then it is okay to have intercourse with her.
Furthermore, Tyga is violating the age of consent openly while at the same time indirectly admitting
statutory rape. These lyrics are clearly encouraging the sexual battery of statutory rape and blurring
the age of consent for sex. The lyrics are hypothetically influencing the thoughts and behaviors in a
way that it is lessening the importance of statutory rape. Encouraging the listener to take the age of
consent and the offence of statutory rape lightly. Switching gears onto the emotional component of
relationships, the singer Britney Spears promotes the idea of dating a bad boy

The Importance Of Greed In Today And Today
Greed. Each and every single human being has the feeling of greed. Humans receive love and care but
will never feel satisfied. Instead, they will only desire more. Someone claps in applause for another
but that other will just want more. A person will always have more and another will want to be like
them. They will never feel content. That constant feeling is greed. The feeling will always be present
because enough will never be enough. More now than ever, Americans, especially children, have
become much more greedy and expect much more out of the world than generations before our time
did.
Around the time of the 1950s, Christmas was the best time of the year that everyone waited for
likewise as it is today. It used to be that only a few presents were given to each kid whereas today
children get countless presents in which their parents blow hundreds of dollars on. Not only the
amount of presents, but the types of presents differ in today s society as well. Today s presents are
items such as the newest iPhone or MacBook rather than receiving underwear and a cabbage patch
doll like children used to. Children were thrilled to open the one or two gifts they received unlike
today where if a child doesn t obtain the newest version of the IPhone, it turns into a temper tantrum
and ungratefulness for the rest of the gifts. Falling asleep on Christmas eve was also a problem due

As mentioned in the book Yunior s family immigrated from the Dominican Republic, which affected

  • 2. Tuberculosis Is A Disease Caused By Mycobacterium... Introduction When looking to educate myself on the most commonly seen health conditions in hospitals, I turned to Mrs. Tonya Simpson RN, a registered nurse at St. Joseph hospital in New Jersey. Mrs. Simpson informed me that Tuberculosis is a disease that she sees profusely at St. Joseph hospital. During the interview I gained great insight on why she chose this particular disease, the etiology, the frequency, prevalence, pathophysiology, signs/symptoms, treatments, and the prognosis of Tuberculosis. Etiology During the interview with healthcare provider Mrs. Tonya Simpson, she when in great detail explaining that Tuberculosis is a bacterial disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This is a disease that affects the lungs and can be transmitted from person to person by coughing, face to face conversing, sneezing, and even breathing the same air of an infected person can spread the disease. A profuse amount of people have TB, but the bacteria is not active, which prevents them from being contagious (T. Simpson, personal communication, March 25, 2015). It is only when the disease is presented to be active that it can be transmitted. Seniors and children have a greater risk to be infected with Tuberculosis due to their weak immune systems. Incidence and Prevalence In 2013 Tuberculosis had a total of 9,588 new tuberculosis (TB) cases reported in the United States, with an incidence rate of 3.0 cases per 100,000 population, a decrease of 4.2% from 2012 (Negar Niki Alami, ... • 3. The World Under 17 And College Hockey Prospect Faceoff: World Under 17 s comes to a conclusion, European talents go head to head in the OHL, plus more from junior/college hockey The World Under 17 Hockey Challenge pits two countrymen against each other as the tournament comes to a conclusion this week. There is also a pair of International talents going one on one for the first time in their careers in the OHL, while another strong European is leading the way for his squad against one of the QMJHL s most feared forwards. In the WHL, two of the league s top defenseman are a big part of their respective team s success, while a pair of college forwards who once scored in bunches try to re ignite their games in this week s Prospect Faceoff. Joel Teasdale (Canada Red) vs. David ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the first overall pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, a lot has been expected of the young man and he has delivered. Also with four goals and four assists for his OHL team in Sudbury, Levin s interesting background has not overshadowed his hockey prowess. Alex Nylander (Mississauga) vs. Pavel Jenys (Sudbury) OHL David Levin s Sudbury Wolves are in action this weekend, where they will have to defend against one of the most electric playmakers in the league, Alex Nylander. Already drawing rave reviews with his tremendous one on one ability, Nylander has been a regular on the OHL s highlight reel so far this season. His 10 goals and 11 assists have him in the top ten in OHL scoring, and he is eight points clear of the next highest rookie scorer, Max Jones of the London Knights. With a strong family connection in the Toronto area with his father, Michael, an assistant coach with the Steelheads and older brother William making waves in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies, Alex is certainly worthy of Rookie of the Year consideration already. • 4. Silk Roads Or Steppe Roads In World History, By David... David Christian proved his passion for digging deeper into history through use of writing the article Silk Roads or Steppe Roads? The Silk Roads in World History, published in the eleventh edition of the Journal of World History, in the spring of 2000 by the University of Hawaii Press. Christian points out that trans ecological exchanges are not fully appreciated and recognized in conventional historiography about the Silk Roads; he believes they should be since they play an important role in the expansion of the roads in the North and were apart of the flourishing of the Silk Roads. In David s article, he recognizes different interpretations of the Silk Roads throughout different regions and time periods and relies on a plethora of sources to do. Christian recognizes that the Silk Roads are ingrained into historiography of China, the Mediterranean world, inner and central Asia, and also play a vital role as links between different regions of the Afro Eurasian landmass. As mentioned previously, this article observes that historiography focuses on the trade between trans civilizational societies and credits them as important to expansion and success of empires and trans civilizational regions. In later centuries, the historiography describes the flux and flow of the Silk Roads flourishing. Through the use of sources, Christian describes these successes to have been at peak from 100 CE to the first, second and third centuries. The Golden Era was claimed to have ended after the Mongol period, due to being out shadowed by other trade routes and sea routes. However, the article acknowledged that trans Asian trade and travel later resumed, but the Silk Roads would never return to their original flourishing state. Different interpretations of the Silk Roads continued throughout Christian s article. Conventional historiography in the classical era depicts that the birth of the Silk Roads dates from the opening of the state sponsored trade between China and Central Asia at the end of the second century BCE. However, David argues that Eurasian steppeland had vigorous systems of trans Eurasian exchanges before then. Leaders in that time basically got handed pre established trade systems and routes. ... • 5. Romero Britto Research Paper Romero Britto is a twentieth and twenty first century pop artist who was born in Recife, Brazil on October 6, 1963. He is the seventh child of nine and he is currently married to Cheryl Britto with a son named Brendan. Romero lived an adequate life with his brothers and sister as a child and was first introduced to art when he was just a young child. He did not capture the full understanding of becoming an artist for a career until the day his older brother showed him books that were about famous artists such as Toulouse Launtrec. Britto became inspired and began copying these fine art pieces from the books the next day. Originally, Britto embraced art to escape from the real world even through his early twenties when he was working to get into law school. He of course eventually dropped out of law school to study art in Europe. Britto traveled to Paris where he was introduced to the works and artistic techniques of Matisse and Picasso. The profound author of Insurgent Mexico, John Reed, imparts his experiences with the revolutionary leaders of the Mexican Revolution, like Pancho Villa, and was able to witness their culture and more specifically the roles these Mexican women were forced to render by their chauvinistic counterparts. In Reed s accounts he expressed how he heard the angry voice of the master of the house reminded the woman that she was not doing five or six things at once in which his woman would then go attend to the orders he had just given (Reed, 17). There is an order of importance to note that Reed always refers to these Mexican women as the man s woman and never their wife, however when he speaks through the woman s account he refers to the man as their husband. There is more respect demanded from the women of Mexican culture during the early 1900s because the men viewed their laborious work that brings in money as a means to deserve to be treated like masters of their family. The specifically crafted language Reed uses when he speaks of the labor the women perform, can demonstrate that he realizes they are weary and overworked. Along with everything Reed includes when he is describing the women work, there is important to also note that he omits any complaints made by women to their husbands. Throughout the novel in any interaction between and man and his woman, never did the woman complain about her arduous work and the commands she received. The work women did in Mexican culture is expected of them and it ties into machismo on part of the men because they feel their job is only to bring income while the wives took care of the rest. The porters, far from getting up from their seats when he came in, took no more notice of him than if a simple fly had flown across the reception room (762). The reason for their attitude towards him is because of his appearance. • 10. The Causes Of Human Growth And The Endocrine System In mammals, we find that the body requires certain systems to function properly and effectively in order to grow. The endocrine system is one of the physiological systems that primarily regulates growth and plays a vital role in the onset of post natal growth as well as the onset and cessation of pubertal growth. There are also other contributors such as nutrition and genetics, etc. that influence these growth patterns. The endocrine system is a vital messaging system that relies completely on hormone delivery to specific cells. The medium of this delivery is the blood in the venous system which means that the hormones secreted can reach target cells often located far from the endocrine glands; this is an efficient method as the endocrine system regulates activities that require duration rather than speed. This efficient system means that homeostasis can be maintained. As the hormones are distributed in the blood through the venous system, this results in the whole body being exposed to these hormones and therefore the fact that only the target cells have specific binding receptors for the particular hormone means that only those target cells will respond to the exposure of the hormone. Once the hormone is bound to its specific target cell receptors, a chain of events within the target cells occurs that brings about the hormones final effect. (Sherwood, 2016) Mammalian growth Growth in mammals is achieved through the production of the growth hormone (GH) by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout Phaedrus, Plato implores the pursuit of philosophy through controlled and modest passions rather than unrestrained ones. • 13. Reality Is Seemingly Through Reality Essay What we believe to be impossible to be achieved through reality is often projected in the unconscious. Freud theorized that our minds repressed desires that could summon emotions such as guilt or shame, which could lead to what is called wish fulfillment through dreams, hallucinations, or phases of neurosis. Experiences of intense dream sequences that involve sexual relations with family members, or homicide carried out by the individual or others, are examples of wish fulfillment dreams. Said dreams represent taboos or actions that could result in extreme consequences in reality, so instead, the impulses or yearnings are satisfied within the unconscious where only the individual can truly gain access to. To Freud, the mind was a part of us suffering from chronic turmoil, with the ego and the superego constantly at war with the ID, where impulses rest. When my dream occurred, the contents, while shocking, did not come as a surprise to me. During that period, my father had been absent from my life for the most part, causing much distress from my family as a whole. I had to withdraw from a university I got accepted into because of financial difficulties, and also pushed back attending community college to work as a hostess in a restaurant to save up for school resources. • 15. Rape, Violence, And Feminist Networks There has been a lot of discussion of rape within sociologists, criminologists, and feminist networks. In my own words, rape is someone engaging with someone else sexually without their consent. Rape is not strictly vaginal penetration, nor an exclusive heterosexual only act. If two people are in a relationship or married, there is still no justification to the perpetrator for their act. In the 21st century, although rape crimes have dropped 24.1% from 2001 to 2010, but not all rapes are reported (Eitzen, Zinn, Smith, 2010). Curtis (1997) reported that 42% of rape victims do not tell anyone of their assaults. There may be a number of reasons why victims don t speak out. Victims of rape typically fear their own safety and lives if they speak out on it. Men who are victims typically don t report rapes because it s considered demasculizing to their gender. Rape victims are traumatized for life, they live with the burden, as their perpetrators walk away free (Curtis, 1997). NPR s Rachel Martin interviewed author, Jon Krakauer, and they discussed Krakauer s new book on the issue of acquaintance rape. Curtis (1997) defines acquaintance rape in the situation that the victim knows their assaulter. With the main subject being acquaintance rape, Krakauer s book focuses on this college town, Missoula, in Montana. Krakauer tells Martin that 230 rapes have occurred in Missoula, without prosecution (NPR, 2015). From there, Krakauer talks about one of those cases. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout the book Augustine goes through his life and the decisions he has made and how they made him either a better or worse person. We can use Augustine s Confessions as a tool to also evaluate our own lives and decisions because of the way he judges himself and what he considers to be the best and worst things he has done and why. Augustine goes through trying to find himself through things of the world and then finally realizes why he can not when he steps back and looks at the fact that he must first find himself in God. Augustine finds himself going through hard times throughout the Confessions and this includes the struggle with depression. Augustine loses one of his very close friends and begins to become depressed, I raged and sighed and wept and worried, I could not rest, I could not think intelligent. (Augustine. 64). • 17. Pros And Cons Of Corruption In American Prisons Throughout mankind, the ideas of avarice and prosperity have pushed companies to work harder, although sometimes this can come with a price. Corruption infiltrates all manners of society like government and industries and the American prison system is no different. Since America must provide housing for those who are incarcerated, they build one prison per week due to the increased rate of criminals (Franklin). Many peoples crimes do not fit their punishment and additionally the duration of the punishment does not match the crime committed. Why is that? The corruption of state and local governments have an incentive to maintain a certain population within prisons. This is a current conflict within the United States. Therefore, state and local governments should not have the power to dictate the amount people who reside in America s prisons. Further, financial incentives from companies should be banned from influencing the population of prisons. In American prisons, inmates have the opportunity which allows them to work a job behind bars, this helps the prisoner sustain their lives while being imprisoned. Many people believe that prisoners are adequately paid for their work. On the contrary, they are paid a fraction of the average wage of a civilian. Additionally, the prison industrial complex is filled with government officials, who profit from the work of the prisoners and the number of prisons ( Prison Industrial Complex ). Leonard and I met in the fourth grade, and we became best friends instantly. I could tell the difference between our values throughout the years of our friendship. Leonard was basically spoiled while I was not. Next, he began to complain about feeling it was beneath him. In my head, I thought how anyone could be so ungrateful. Leonard was my best friend, so I trusted him to understand my work situations. Until this one incident that pushed me over the edge with him. While I was away for eight months at training, I expected for Leonard to understand that with hard work comes responsibilities. He never thought of how it would affect me if I spent all of my hard earned money on him. When returned from training, his hand was always out. As a best friend, I helped him when he asked me for things, but began to regret that decision when he asked me for five hundred dollars to put a down payment on a car. Army money only stretched so far because I am in a reserve unit. Even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A lot of people usually check the calorie content in their food on a daily basis in order to assure themselves that they are eating the right amount in order for them to lead a healthy life and stay in shape. Something that not all people know though is a calorie is a unit of energy. And calorimetry is what is used to let us know the energy content that is within a certain food. Without calorimetry people would really have no idea how much they are taking in. Also many people would most likely be living a way unhealthier life if calorimetry wasn t used, this is because people would not know how to balance out their diet with exercise. Also they would probably be eating a larger amount of super unhealthy foods, this is due to the fact that many people like the taste of fatty, calorie high foods that are not really good for you and if they didn t know the amount of calories inside of those foods than a lot of people wouldn t even think twice about choosing between a cookie or a carrot. More likely than unlikely people would choose the cookie over the carrot. • 33. Susan Sontag s Notes On Camp It is important to first be aware of the concrete definitions of low culture, as defined by Susan Sontag in her Notes on Camp (1964) Low culture is a derogatory term for popular culture and working class culture A direct opposite to this is high culture, often favoured by the elite. In which Sontag recognises that both high culture and low culture are minority cultures. The combined influences of both strains constitute mainstream culture . Before looking at what low culture Pope drew upon to produce his own high art it is important to understand the context of Pope s writing and what was going on in regards to Literary History of that time period. The English Neo Classical Movement dominated English Literature from the Restoration (1660) to the lyrical ballads of 1798,1800 and 1802. It is conventionally divided into three parts. These being the Restoration Age (1600 1700) where figures such as John Milton and John Dryden were renowned. The Augustan Age (1700 1750) where Alexander Pope himself was a central poetic figure and The Age of Johnson (1750 1798). The primary focus is of course the Augustan Age, where Pope s work is prevalent. The Eighteenth century brought a new war of words, with a quarrel in 1690 s France in L Académie Française, putting in to place a new historical sense of culture across Europe. The ideology is that classical authors and learning could not be improved upon or surpassed by modern writers, instead they should look to imitate the great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Music speaks to the mind, body and soul and many singers take advantage of this influence to express their views on sex and relationships. Song lyrics often have implicit meanings and literary references. One song in particular called Stimulated, by the rapper Tyga; real name Michael Ray Nguyen Stevenson portrays the physical aspect of a sexual relationship. In his song Stimulated, Tyga sings about having sex with his girlfriend Kylie Jenner before she turns eighteen. The lyrics include They say she young, I should ve waited/She a big girl, dawg, when she stimulated. These lyrics imply a coarse, vulgar, sparsely disguised metaphor for having sex. The hidden message in these lyrics is that if the underage girl is stimulated, then it is okay to have intercourse with her. Furthermore, Tyga is violating the age of consent openly while at the same time indirectly admitting statutory rape. These lyrics are clearly encouraging the sexual battery of statutory rape and blurring the age of consent for sex. The lyrics are hypothetically influencing the thoughts and behaviors in a way that it is lessening the importance of statutory rape. Encouraging the listener to take the age of consent and the offence of statutory rape lightly. Instead, they will only desire more. Someone claps in applause for another but that other will just want more. A person will always have more and another will want to be like them. They will never feel content. That constant feeling is greed. The feeling will always be present because enough will never be enough. More now than ever, Americans, especially children, have become much more greedy and expect much more out of the world than generations before our time did. Around the time of the 1950s, Christmas was the best time of the year that everyone waited for likewise as it is today.
