Disruption In Nursing
Conflict, Disruption, and Violence
This paper is going to explore the topics of conflict, disruption, and violence in the nursing world.
Conflict within the nursing field is something that can happen between employees without intent. As
employees, disruption is something that takes place by bullying or harassing causing issues within the
organization. The same goes for violence. All these behaviors can happen from co workers or patients.
Educating on the ways to handle these situations will be ideal for identifying and resolving.
Conflict
Nursing is a stressful job. There are always situations that arise causing individuals to continue to
work in uncomfortable conditions. One factor that can affect the comfort of employment is conflict.

There is nothing that I feel would have prevented this situation at this time. I do feel that education on
the patient s diagnoses and condition may have helped with the situation escalating so rapidly. Anyone
that does not understand the diagnoses or condition will do their research, which may not be legit or
truthful. As the medical professional, we have resources that provide appropriate and adequate
education to the patient and their family member. Providing this adequate education would have made
providing the care easier at the time that the violence

The Structure Of The Hip Joint
The hip joint is involved in movement and support of the body. Describe how the structure of the
tissues associated with the joint enable it to function effectively.
Analysing the structure of the hip joint will discover the importance of the joint and the way it helps to
support, stabilise, strengthen and create movement. Areas that will be explored are the skeletal system,
different types of joints and all the tissues involved at the hip joint.
The skeletal system has five main functions which consist of support, movement, protection of organs,
blood cell production and mineral release and storage. The skeletal system is made up of two parts, the
Axial skeleton and the Appendicular skeleton. The Axial skeleton includes of the skull, spine and
ribcage. The Appendicular is made up of the arms, legs, pelvic girdle and pectoral girdle. The human
skeleton is composed of bones and joints. A joint is where two bones meet to enable movement.
Hinge, pivot, gliding, saddle, ellipsoid and the ball and socket are all different types of joints which
can be found in the human body.
Joints are classified by their structure; the hip joint is classified as a synovial joint. As shown in image
1 the synovial joint has a joint cavity which lies between the two bones. This contains the synovial
fluid that lubricates the joint. The fluid is produced by the membrane which lines the cartilage called
the synovial membrane. In certain joints small sack structures called bursas hold the synovial

Taking a Look at a Computer Games Engines
A computer games engine is the building block of a video game. It provides a software framework
which game developers use to create and edit content for video games. They can feature a large range
of tools and elements to aid developers into creating a game, such as renderers, animation and
scripting to name a few. The engines allow the process of video games to be economized. This is
because you can use the same game engine to create different games. Computer game engines use a
variety of programming languages, such as Java and C++.
The purpose of a game engine is to provide a suite of visual development tools to a developer to aid
them in the production process. They enable a rapid development by simply being able to re use
meshes, code and textures. Think of it as a big box and it contains a family of tools to help you with
all aspects of creating a game such as audio, graphics and AI functions.
Ever since video games existed, it took a while for game engines to be part of the industry. Games
would have to be made completely from scratch to make the optimal use of the hardware. The first
few games engines came around in 1983, in the form of 2D game creation systems for independent
use. Pinball Construction Set and ACSII s War Game Construction Kit were the first 2 that came
around with many more to follow.
History of Game Engines
The first game engine that existed as one was the Space Rogue game engine. Released in 1989, the
engine had the same name as the game that

Benefits Of Genetically Engineered Food
The alteration of plant and animal genetic codes for the ultimate purpose of increasing food abundance
is an increasingly popular, yet controversial practice in the 21st century. Genetic engineering of food is
done for a number of reasons, the biggest of which is increasing food supplies in the world, especially
for the third world countries. However, there are arguments and even activist movements against
genetic engineering of food, which begs the question why is genetically engineered food so
controversial? The pro and con arguments of the genetic engineering of food cannot be overlooked.
Although it is a controversial practice, genetically engineered food is more useful than harmful to
people and the planet.
The Benefits of Genetically Engineered Food
Food security is one of the biggest concerns in the world today given the rate at which climate change
is crippling the planet s natural ability to sustain humanity. Forman and Silverstein (2012) note that
should the current rate of global warming and climate change persist for the next ten years, the planet
not just the developing world will officially be in a food crisis. This information can be backed by the
fact that the world is already struggling to stay fed (Qaim Kouser, 2013). Genetic engineering of food,
therefore, is a relevant topic as it is a means through which hunger and famine can be avoided
permanently. It is only through genetic engineering that droughts, pests, weed resistant crops, and pest

Advantages Of Homeschooling
Every year, there is a gradual intake of debates on whether homeschooling is more effective than
public schooling. Since 2003, there has been a steady increase of 36% of students being homeschooled
in the United States, and a statistic of 1.5 million students being homeschooled in 2007 (Bergstrom 5).
As more and more students are being homeschooled, it is beginning to become a more effective way
of learning and lifestyle than going to public school. Despite the disadvantages people accuse about
homeschooling, it can actually improve the life of students by giving them a better advantage to a
social life, reducing the risk of being involved in alcohol or drug use, developing a higher standard of
maturity and morals that students of public schooling do not have, and having more success in
schoolwork and learning.
Throughout a child s life of public schooling, they have a vast variety of social interactions with other
students and their teachers, but despite what many peers believe about the interactions in
homeschooling, they too have the same and even more as those in public schooling. According to
Koehler, studies have shown that the, homeschooled population demonstrated above average of
overall social skills, (Koehler 4). Because homeschoolers do not get the same advantages as public
schooling, they gain a wide variety of socialization throughout experiences offered at church groups,
playing at parks, joining outside clubs or organizations, and tutoring groups. By

USS Midway Museum
USS Midway Museum
On September 24, 2016 I had the privilege of visiting the USS Midway Historical Museum. My friend
Michelle, who is also a CBU student, accompanied me while we explored this fantastic site. I was
recommended to tour the USS Midway by my German foreign exchange student who was able to visit
the attraction a couple weeks earlier. Niels emphasized how much he enjoyed his visit and explained
that it was a shame that I had not been there earlier, due to the fact that I live so close to San Diego. It
was Niel s advice, paired with my prior interest in the history of this battleship that inspired me to
finally see it for myself.
Michelle and I arrived on a beautiful San Diego day at North Harbor Drive near the Coronado
Broadway Pier. We parked somewhat far away because it was a busy day on the harbor. Walking
towards the ship, we witnessed street performers doing all sorts of entertaining things that created a
fun atmosphere. Some were blowing up balloons for kids, while others were playing their instruments,
filling the air with a sweet melody. Walking along this beautiful parkway, looking out at the blue
waters crashing against the docks, I could not help but realize how blessed and grateful I am to be free
in such a great nation.
The first attraction I saw was a huge granite monument just across the street from the Midway. It
honored the second most decorated ship in WWII, known as the USS San Diego CL 53. This ship was

Benefits Of Lucid Dreaming
All You Need to Know About Lucid Dreaming
Chapter 1: Overview of Lucid Dreams
Dreams have played a very crucial role to cultures through the years. The aborigines have believed
that the stories of the world very start as the realization of their dreaming. Native Americans have
believed that their dreams are doorways to the spiritual world, ways to quests and prophecies.
The concept of lucid dreaming is not something new either. Aristotle is considered to be the first one
to write about lucid dreaming; however, he did not coin a term for it. Certain Tibetan Buddhists have
been practicing dream yoga for a long time, which is something similar to lucid dreaming.
The ultimate goal of dream yoga is to examine your consciousness and give you to a state of constant
awareness. Bulk of the principles governing the Buddhist belief is to be familiar with the world for
what it is, without illusion. A lucid dreamer is familiarized with the dream world for what it is a
dream. As you dream, you go with the flow of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The advantages of lucid dreaming start with being able to promote stress relief through your dreams;
although lucid dreaming can have a lot of other concrete advantages in your own life. Following are
just some of the known benefits of lucid dreaming:
Facing fears many lucid dreamers utilize lucid dreams as a means to deal with their phobias or
overcome their nightmares. You can set up your lucid dream to deal with a worst case situation, so you
will already know that you can surpass it. You may also use your dreams as a means to gradually
experience your fears and to discover how you can surpass them. For example, if you are afraid of
creepy crawling insects, you can make your elf face these creatures in your dream, knowing that you
can wake up at any time. You ll soon find yourself getting over much of your fear that usually comes

The Epic Of Judea Short Story
Another day, and more dead sheep littered the hills of Judea. A fierce pack of roaming wolves had
struck again. All the shepherd boys of Judea, on high alert, had been arming themselves with
pitchforks and knives to defend their helpless herds of sheep. One of these shepherd boys went by the
name of Joshua. Joshua tended to the sheep of his frail father, and looked after his family. He was a
good son, and a loving brother. Mentiri, another shepherd boy, was the biggest and strongest of all the
shepherd boys in the village. For his strength, good looks, and physical prowess, he was the pride of
the village. On a warm summer night on the hills of Judea, under a full moon, Joshua and Mentiri
were tending to their flock. A low howl came from the far side of the hill. The far off ... Show more

Mentiri and Joshua, hearing the howls getting louder and closer, herded their sheep into a nearby
gulley and prepared themselves to defend their flock. The snarling, hungry pack of wolves suddenly
appeared and circled the entrance to the gulley. They then moved in for the kill. Joshua felt a surge of
bravery in his heart, like no other feeling he d had felt before. He grabbed his pitchfork and stoically
held his ground. He glanced at Mentiri, and to his surprise, saw fear in his eyes and knew he was on
his own. He knew he would get no aid from the larger, stronger man. The largest wolf, who seemed to
be the leader of the pack of seven wolves, sprang at Joshua, its jaws wide open. Joshua blocked the
wolf with his pitchfork, and stabbed him in the throat with his knife. He paused and looked around.
Mentiri was no where to be found, for the pride of the village had fled to a nearby cave and was
cowering in fear. The pack of seven wolves, now six, set upon Joshua with ferocity. He fought back
with equal ferocity, killing them one by one, as they tore at his flesh. The cowering Mentiri could hear

An Effective System For Lossless Image Compression
Abstract In this paper, we proposed an effective system for lossless image compression using different
wavelet transform such as the stationary wavelet transform, the non decimated wavelet transform, and
discrete wavelet transform with delta encoding and compare the results without delta encoding. With
the development in the field of networking in the process of sending and receiving files needed to
effective techniques for image compression as the raw images required large amounts of disk space to
defect during transportation and storage operations. We used lossless compression to maintain the
original features of the image in this process; there is a major problem which often is low compression
ratios. We also use three types of wavelet transform which are discrete wavelet transform, non
decimated wavelet transform, and stationary wavelet transform to demonstrate the effectiveness of the
proposed system for comparison and to show the differences between each type to overcome previous
challenges. This paper proposed a system for lossless image compression based on the use of the three
types of wavelet transforms using Arithmetic coding and Huffman coding with delta coding, which
helps in the high compression ratio to clarify the extent of the difference and distinction between each
type. The results show that the stationary wavelet transform outperforms the non decimated wavelet
transform and the discrete wavelet transform and with delta encoding outperforms without delta

The Supreme Court Of Canada Decision Essay
Introduction You have asked me to summarize the Supreme Court of Canada decision in Doré v
Barreau du Québec, 2012 SCC 12, SCR 395 and analyze whether the Law society is likely to sanction
Evan Frank. Although the Rules of Professional Conduct place limitations on certain conduct to
ensure professionalism, the expressive rights of lawyers must be given due respect and the likelihood
of Mr. Frank s sanction will depend on a fair balance of expressive value of the content in the letter,
with the public s expectation of professionalism. Case summary: Doré v Barreau du Québec During a
criminal proceeding where the appellant, Mr. Doré was the defence council in the Superior court of
Quebec, he was subject to personal attacks by Justice Boilard. Taking offence from the personal
attacks, he wrote a letter to the judge, which included attacks on the judge s professionalism, social
skills, and shaming him as a judge. (Doré, at Para. 10) A complaint was filed against Mr. Doré, by the
Syndic du Barreau for violation of article 2.03 of the Code of ethics of advocates, R.R.Q. 1981, c. B 1,
r.1, and oath of office. The article stated that the conduct of an advocate must bear the stamp of
objectivity, moderation and dignity (Para. 13) which the judicial council concluded that Mr. Doré
violated. The Judicial council, rejecting Mr. Dore s claim that the letter was private, concluded that
Judge Boilard s conduct did not justify the content in letter. (Doré, at para.16) The issue before

Cardiovascular Disease In Men
Although men had ruled the earth for years together, the male gender is highly susceptible so far heart
disease is concerned . More men are living with and dying of Coronary Heart Disesse (CHD) than
women and have more hospital discharges for Cardiovascular disease ( CVD ) and CHD. The
prevalence of CHD is higher in men within each age stratum until after 75 years of age, which may
contribute to the perception that heart disease is a man s disease.
The classic risk factors for CVD are the same in women and men, but there are gender differences in
the prevalence of risk factors. Dr Bernadine Healy first introduced the concept of the Yentl syndrome
in 1991, suggesting gender bias in the management of CHD.

Decreased sexual activity and function are common in patients with CVD and are often interrelated to
anxiety and depression. The Stockholm Heart Epidemiology Programme (SHEEP) study of post MI
patients (50% women) found that those who were sedentary had a higher risk of MI with sexual
activity (relative risk 4.4) than did those who were physically active (relative risk 0.7). Sexual activity
is reasonable for patients who can exercise ≥3 to 5 METS without angina, excessive dyspnea,
ischemic ST segment changes, cyanosis, hypotension, or arrhythmia (Class IIa; Level of Evidence C).
In 2005, the Princeton Conference suggested that post MI patients who had undergone successful
coronary revascularization or had a treadmill test without ischemia could resume sexual activity 3 to 4
weeks after MI. CABG and most other heart surgeries (eg, valve repair/replacement) are commonly
performed through a median sternotomy, it is generally recommended that sexual activity be delayed
for 6 to 8 weeks after CABG and non coronary open heart

Apuleius In-Depth Ekphrasis Of Diana And Actaeon
Although ekphrases are frequent in the novel, Apuleius in depth ekphrasis of Diana and Actaeon
specifically describes the physical form of statues as a work of art, which ultimately tie into Lucius s
adventure. The use of ekphrasis leads into yet another interpolated tale that is seemingly not related to
the novel. However, ekphrasis not only describes the statues in great detail but also describes how
Apuleius molds the ancient Roman tale into Lucius s story. Diana s statue was made of Parian marble
occupied the exact center point and as an utterly resplendent piece of statuary that shone bright on the
reflective marble (Met. 2.4, pp. 33 34). The description is similar to that of Isis in how this first ranked
goddess evinced especial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lucius describes Actaeon as craning forward and gawking at the deity (Met. 2.4, pp. 34). Craning and
gawking suggest that Actaeon is overly curious and depraved. The connotation of gawking suggests
that Actaeon was knowingly intruding on Diana s bath. Similarly, Lucius is very eager and curious
like when he is struck near senseless by my unbearable yearning by the witchcraft in Thessaly (Met.
2.2, pp. 22). Lucius further emphasizes how eager in witchcraft that he is to sign up as [Pamphile s]
apprentice and pay through the nose for it (Met. 2.6, pp. 25). The similar inquisitive character of
Actaeon and Lucius is used to construct a parallel between the two narratives. The purposeful story of
Diana and Actaeon provides a similar message to The Golden Ass. Actaeon and Lucius were both
overly curious and saw what they should not have seen. Actaeon gawked at Diana bathing while
Lucius saw Pamphile turn into an owl (Met. 3.21, pp. 60). Although Actaeon is turned into a stag by
Diana and then devoured by his hunting dogs, Lucius is forgiven and returns to his normal human
form to serve for Isis beliefs. The irony of Lucius describing Actaeon also shows a parallel with
Apuleius s description of Lucius throughout the novel. The notion that The Golden Ass as an
autobiography of Apuleius seems clearer in the ekphrasis of Actaeon and Diana due to the irony. Like

Paul Laurence Dunbar Poem Analysis
Paul Laurence Dunbar is African American poet who lived from in the late 1880s to the early 1900s.
During his life, Dunbar wrote many poems, in both dialect and standard english. However, many of
his poems are considered controversial now, due to negative racial stereotypes and dialect. Currently,
some believe that Dunbar s poetry perpetuates harmful stereotypes such as use of dialect; while others
believe that it helps break racial stereotypes through the portrayed emotions. Dunbar s dialect poetry is
helpful for African Americans, because it accurately depicts the experience of African Americans and
humanizes them. The depiction black struggles within Dunbar s dialect poetry makes Dunbar s poetry
beneficial for the black race. For example, in An Ante bellum Sermon, when Dunbar writes But when
Moses wif his powah Comes an sets us chillun free, We will praise de gracious Mastah, Dat has gin us
liberty; An we ll shout ouah halleluyahs, On dat mighty reck nin day, When we se reco nised ez citiz ,
Huh uh! Chillun, let us pray! , he is depicting a common feeling of African Americans. Although this
poem takes place before the Civil War, and before Dunbar s birth, both of Dunbar s parents were ex
slaves, which gave him an understanding of slavery. With an understanding of slavery, Dunbar was
able to depict the desire for slaves to be rid of the unjust system. Beyond that, the idea is still
applicable to the time in which he lived. From one issue to another, people anticipate equality while in
dire situations. Similarly, in Song, Dunbar depicts the harmful race relations from his time. Instead of
the black experience being told from a sympathizer perspective, Dunbar has a better understanding of
what it was like to be black in the 1890s. The competition and hate between flowers symbolizes the
conflict between white and black people. Through this metaphor, especially at the end when they
celebrate the death of all daisies when he writes In de fiel de flags is wavin in a tantalizing way, Kin o
joicin case de daisies all is daid, Dunbar depicts the hateful race relations of his time. Dunbar s
representation of black issues brings attention to them, which benefits African Americans. Because

The Importance Of Planning For Disaster Response And How...
1) Describe the focus of the article and its relevance to project management.
From a high level the focus of the article was the importance of planning for disaster response and
how the lack of planning can have a serious negative impact on the effectiveness of providing relief to
those in need. All of the information is relevant to project management in that providing disaster relief
is a project much like any other project. The main differences are that it is more complex, requires
immediate action, and is less tolerant of mistakes (scope change). The author points out that Effective
planning helps any project, but in disaster relief efforts, it can make the difference between life and
death, normality and chaos. (1)
The importance of staying focused and not trying to be all things to all people is discussed as well as
ensuring that aid givers stick with their core competencies and know when to disengage. A
contributor, Myles Fish of International Aid is quoted as saying If there is not a predetermined
contribution and consummation, then you will end up taking on every need, which is far too taxing on
any organization and presents a situation where the entire effort never has an end (2)
Other areas mentioned include the importance of communication at all levels and between all relief
agencies. Myles Fish also says this about communication High level communication is imperative in
coordinating with other community partners to identify gaps in services and to

Conceived Identity
Many people view the role of a public relations professional within an organization as one that
involves making the company look good among other image enhancing functions. Whether they are
called PR professionals, PR people, media relations folks, they are the ones typically called on to
inform the public of updates or improvements, they are called to help change the perception of the
public, help with rebranding efforts and in the event of negative press or other crises, public relations
professionals are often called on to fix things, to wield that magic wand of words and press releases to
make the bad stuff all go away in an effort to preserve or salvage a positive identity. Many would be
surprised to learn that the role of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Real corporate identity...is about behavior as much as appearance, and certainly about reality, as much
as symbolism. Wherever behavior and appearance are linked, real corporate identity emerges. There
are said to be five identities of a company 1. The actual identity that encompasses the actual defining
characteristics of the corporation, 2. Communicated identity this involves the part of a company s
identity that is revealed using controllable corporate communication, 3. Conceived identity is the third
type of identity and refers to the perceived corporate image held by relevant stakeholders, 4. Ideal
identity this is the best positioning of the organization in a given timeframe and finally is 5. The
desired identity which is the corporate leaders vision for the organization. Having these different
identities without proper alignment can create discord among these different areas and can weaken a
company. At Emory University, I work as the Associate Director for Annual Giving with the office of
the Emory Annual Fund. Our main constituents are students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators,
prospective students and alumni. Other publics include companies that we have special partnerships

Strong women are prevalent in our culture. For example, Helen Keller, was blind and deaf, but still
made an impact on our society. Other examples of strong women include Harriet Tubman and Amelia
Earhart. The book, The Odyssey, is no different; there are many strong women in this book, Circe and
the Sirens are examples of this. These women are all strong because they possess various traits, such
as Harrit Tubman s detrmantion and the Sirens beautiful voices, along with the knowledge to put them
into effect. The Sirens and Circe hold certain character traits, some of which they share, and others
they differ on. Circe is one of the strong women in this book. Circe is an immortal who can do simple

Circe changed her mind, also Ulysses wanted to return to Ithaca, his home country. Circe is not the
only strong women in The Odyssey; the Sirens are a set of sisters that are also strong in this book. The
Sirens are two sisters with beautiful voices that draw men to them. Once a man hears their voices, he
is unable escape, if he hears their voice he will be drawn to them, doing whatever it takes to get to the
island they are living on. Once a man reaches the island of the sisters, they take the bones of the men
and use then to make drums, which are a part of their music. These two sisters have the faces of young
girls, but the bodies of birds. Because the Sirens are so powerful, if any man hears their voices all the
men will be dragged to their island. To prevent this Ulysses plugs his men s ears with beeswax.
Ulysses, however keeps his own ears unplugged to be able to hear the sound going on around him,

Abstract
This paper will discuss the effects perfusion has on the body as well as the multiple body systems that
are effected from poor perfusion. We will be looking at the relationships between profusion as it
relates to ischemic stroke, myocardial infarction, and tuberculosis. This paper will use online journal
entries from EPSCO as well as off line entries from Lewis to help us find a better understanding into
the related topics at hand. Lastly I will discuss stroke in depth as it pertains to my clinical experience
and explain the strong link profusion has on ischemic stroke and the measures used to retain brain
tissue. We will look at research done by Agarwal, Smriti (2015) that looks at the effectiveness and
time saving procedures researched by his team when detecting stroke as well as research done by
Dong, Hongli (2015) that shows a strong correlation between vitamin b12 and folic acid and the
prevention of an ischemic event.

Cleats Descriptive Writing
Seeing my cleats you would naturally think that they are worn by an average athlete unconcerned with
style. The first thing noticeable is how the cleats were originally white, but have turned a yellowish
brownish color like fading summer grass. The right cleat s lace is torn on the end, so I had to even out
the laces to be able to tie them. The left shoe has a black broken hair tie, knotted 5 times at the bottom
of the lace. It was my girlfriend s before it broke and she let me have it for some extra luck. The once
clear , rubber spikes on the bottom had now turned brown and opaque, worn down to about the length
of a fingernail. The covering near the toe of the shoe was beginning to rip off, so you could see a light
brown rough fabric that structured the cleat. Even though they re ugly, worn out, and ready to be
tossed into the trash, these cleats gave me the best two seasons of my life: one season of lacrosse,
which turned out to be the season that led to a chance for me to commit to the college of my dreams,

hoped it wouldn t be the last. The hair band was sitting on the bottom of the left shoelace giving me all
the luck I needed. The bottom of the cleats had some dirt stuck in the creases and a small ant pile of
turf pellets under my heel. The hair band gave me some extra luck on that day because I might have
played the best lacrosse I have ever played. Franklin Field is the place where I ripped part of the shoe
lace off of my right shoe. The marks that these cleats left on Franklin Field will never be

Theme Of The Seventh Seal
Undoubtedly, one of the greatest masterpiece ever made, The Seventh Seal, Ingmar Bergman s finest
analogy about the human condition, seems quiet timeless and deeply familiar with the world that it
takes place in. Set during the Middle Ages during the Black Death (plague) era, The Seventh Seal
begins with a narrator s voice that reads from the Book of Revelations from the bible: And when the
Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. The said
silence in heaven or rather the silence of God in the world is Bergman s major theme, along with
death. This film sets a high level of ambition by using a theme that is mainly universal, which is the
quest for the meaning of life.
The movie begins as Antonius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, the dominant element used to explore the philosophical theme can be found in the
setting of the movie. For instance, deserted villages are everywhere; and every town they run into
appears to have been destroyed by the Black Plague. No set pieces are nice or lively in a way to
suggest that the world they live in is dark and disturbing, or anything but a land for the dying. The
gloomy tone of the film is mainly emphasized by a simple use of grayscale, as it really accentuates the
setting where an almost desolate land caused by the plague. The scoring of the music is also
strengthening the gloomy tone of the film. On the whole, the film is aesthetically beautiful and
philosophically brilliant, which is still become a relevant topic even after half of the century passed.
Thanks to those elements, Ingmar Bergman was able to help clarify one of the most questionable
human thought, which is the meaning of life itself. Following Bergman s creation of Antonius Block,
it can be seen that all roads lead the

Drug Trafficking In Brazil Essay
Over the course of the last decade, there has been an exponential growth in illicit trafficking of drugs
affects all aspects of life. Brazil is a direct victim of this trafficking as its homicide rate of 27.1 per
100,000 inhabitants. This figure is one of the worst in the world, most are largely linked to drug
trafficking by organized crime groups. Brazil is conscious of crime groups that control the illegal drug
trade are: Primeiro Comando da Capital, Comando Vermelho, and Amigos dos Amigos. Due to the
geographic location of Brazil, it is a pinnacle transit zone for drugs to be smuggled into Europe and
Africa. The predominant drug trafficking in Brazil is cocaine coming from Bolivia, Peru and
Columbia who wish to reach the transit zone in Brazil. This has a direct correlation in trends in drug
use, trafficking and illicit markets in the country. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drug cases are grouped with serious crimes such as murder, rape and kidnapping. The delegation of
Brazil is known for being present at UN drug conventions in order to gain expertise on the topic. In
the last two decades itself, Brazil has passed legislature to help deal with this ongoing issue. In 2006,
Brazil passed the Drug Law which states, Whoever acquires, keeps, holds in storage, transports or
carries upon himself, for personal use, drugs without authorization or in violation of legal or
regulatory decree, shall be subject to the following penalties: I: warnings about the effects of drugs; II:
community service; III: educational measures, completion of an educational course. With progress
comes complication as this law fails to recognize the difference between a drug user and drug
trafficker. An effect is the alarming increase in prisoners with the total up to 620,000 who swelter in
prisons. It is in best interest for the country to remain strict but refine the details that cause

Counselling Psychotherapy And Psychodynamic Perspectives
Introduction I am developing an understanding of two of the most utilised approaches in counselling
psychotherapy. These are the person centered and psychodynamic perspectives. I seek to explore my
development and attunement to the concepts we have been introduced to by facilitating my own
learning. Also I isolate difficulties that have arisen and explain how I have overcome these obstacles.
This will aid my continual development towards becoming a helper. This piece is my own reflexive
account on my journey so far. In my development to date, and the feelings of achievement and failure
through actions of my early adolescence. Becoming a helper is a longstanding ambition of mine,
formulated by my desire to help others. My experiences over the last twenty five years, have taught
me that I am sometimes over analytical in my thoughts, overly concerned about others, I can end up
neglecting myself. Throughout this journey I have had chronic ups and downs life can harbor. I
continue to develop my own sense of self, and pursue the opportunity to guide others through their
own dialogue. Narrative of the self I recall when I was younger I was insistent on helping my mum
and dad look after my two brothers. This could be because I m the eldest of three. I am a daughter and

Importance Of Technology On Education
Most people think of the phones in their hand or pocket when they think of technology, but the first
roots of technology started all the way back in the Paleolithic Era. This era brought us the first set of
stone tools and the famous cave paintings that have helped us learn about the past. Following the
Paleolithic Era, we had the Mesolithic and Neolithic Eras which both brought us more advanced stone
tools and the start of copper tools. After the Meso/Neolithic Eras, we had the Bronze Era which
brought us our bronze tools and weapons. The next era was the Iron Age; this age brought us our iron
tools and bullets which further improved hunting. Next was the Middle Ages that gave us our armory
and many more improvements on weaponry. Following the Middle Ages, there was the Renaissance,
then the Industrial Ages where hundreds of inventions were made like the steam engine and the
telegraph which advanced travel and communication. The last era is the Information Age which gave
us our phones, computers and the internet. Throughout history, technology has improved and given
society many benefits including the improvements of the educational system, medical and the many
communication systems.
The vast expanses of old and modern technology have pushed us forward in a new stance on education
and the system itself. With the use of the internet from their phone and computer/laptop kids and
adults alike can go online and read articles, look at powerpoints or Prezi s or watch videos about

Sociological Perspectives on Religion Essay example
Religion is a ritualized system of beliefs and practices related to things defined as sacred by an
organized community of believers. (Basirico et.al. 379). Religion is an important element in the
society because it influences the way individuals act and think. It has shaped the relationship and
bonding among families as well as influenced the decision made in economics and politics. Religion
in general has contributed to shape a society and a government structure which will influence the way
the individuals under certain governmental structure behave. Sociologists are interested in religion
mainly because religious belief is heavily rooted in individuals lives and it helps sociologists to
interpret human s actions, expression, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, no matter how sociologists and scientists view religion, there are a lot of people who will
still believe in their own religion and that there exists a power that science cannot explain. For
example, in an Islamic country such as Indonesia, government is organized base on what is
appropriate according to Islam. Even though, there are a lot of people questions the existence of
supernatural power and hundreds of books publish that study the scientific view of religion,
government and people in that country still believe in their religions. Students at school also study
about science and sociological perspective toward religion and almost every student still believe in
their religion and practice it in their societies. Moreover, in US where freedom of speech is allowed
and knowledge can be shared quickly by internet, every person in US knows about scientific study of
religion but Christianity is still emphasized in everyday life. People may only view sociological and
scientific perspective of religion as one of the knowledge that need to be known but doesn t have to be
practiced. Overall, the sociological study in religions does not undermine nor strengthen one s faith.
Other factors such as people who use religion to abuse people or control over people that may have
made a person to change their view toward religion. Sociologists also view religion as part

Walter Mitty Dream
In The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Walter Mitty daydreams into fantastic fantasies as he faces the
harshness of reality. Walter is first seen as the Commander of a navy hydroplane through a hurricane.
However, the The Old Man ain t afraid of Hell (The) in the hurricane is afraid of his wife as she nags
him for speeding. Unnamed Mrs. Mitty continues to command her husband even insisting that he wear
gloves. Walter, upset, purposely takes off the gloves at a red light. As he stopped at the red light for
too long, a cop tells him to Pick it up, brother! (The). Mitty interestingly assumed the cop to be
referring to the gloves he took off instead of the car. Because of the authority figure of the cop, the
second daydream is triggered. Mitty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thurber had a troublesome marriage with Althea; Walter is constantly being controlled by Mrs. Mitty.
Because of Mrs. Mitty s nagging and imposing influence seen in paragraphs 3 and 4, Walter is
triggered into a daydream. As a world famous surgeon, he not only is in control of his life, but the life
of his patient. Mitty cleverly adapts to emergencies like using a fountain pen to fix the needed surgical
machinery (The). Every time he escapes, it is because of a trigger, often through an authority figure
imposing on him. In fact, it is the clear distinction between fantasy and reality that makes escaping a
theme. The heavy juxtaposition between diction of the dream world and real life is evident. For
example, in the second daydream as a surgeon, Dr. Mitty snapped at fellow doctors and nurses to give
him a fountain pen and uses fake yet complicated sounding medical terms such as Obstreosis of the
ductal tract (The). However, in the subsequent paragraph as Walter clumsily almost hits another car in
the parking lot in reality, he only muttered in response to the valet, unable to give a definitive reply.
The dramatic juxtaposition between Mitty s spectacular fantasies and mundane reality drives the story.
Thurber highlights Mitty s desperateness for action through the drastic differences in scenes. Also,
Thurber distinguishes daydreams by incorporating much more imperative voice and literary devices
compared to straight dialogue in the reality. Thurber literally makes the fantasies more alive and
interesting than boring reality. Onomatopoeia is seen in 3 of the 5 daydreams, ta pocketa pocketa... in
paragraph 1 for the hydroplane and the same sound for the surgical machine (The). Rat tat tatting in
paragraph 14 reflects the machine gun sounds Captain Mitty heard during war. By using

find peace from Amanda s nagging inquisition and commands, as he said, I d rather smoke when
Amanda complains to him about smoking too much. Through Amanda s sighing, A fire escape landing

Tom could readily escape from the world of Amanda to a world of new dimensions. Other than
Amanda, Tom is also trapped in the responsibility of supporting his mother and sister who are
dependent on his wages to live, as he complained, Who pays the rent on it, who makes a slave of

Furthermore, Tom despises the tedious job at the warehouse that stops him doing his own interests, as
he cried out, You think I m in love with the Continental Shoemakers? ... I d rather somebody picked
up crowbar and battered out my brains than going back mornings! All of these situations cause Tom to
have an even stronger will of escape. Hence, going to movies or having drinks in the bar every night

  • 3. The Structure Of The Hip Joint The hip joint is involved in movement and support of the body. Describe how the structure of the tissues associated with the joint enable it to function effectively. Analysing the structure of the hip joint will discover the importance of the joint and the way it helps to support, stabilise, strengthen and create movement. Areas that will be explored are the skeletal system, different types of joints and all the tissues involved at the hip joint. The skeletal system has five main functions which consist of support, movement, protection of organs, blood cell production and mineral release and storage. The skeletal system is made up of two parts, the Axial skeleton and the Appendicular skeleton. The Axial skeleton includes of the skull, spine and ribcage. The Appendicular is made up of the arms, legs, pelvic girdle and pectoral girdle. The human skeleton is composed of bones and joints. A joint is where two bones meet to enable movement. Hinge, pivot, gliding, saddle, ellipsoid and the ball and socket are all different types of joints which can be found in the human body. Joints are classified by their structure; the hip joint is classified as a synovial joint. As shown in image 1 the synovial joint has a joint cavity which lies between the two bones. It provides a software framework which game developers use to create and edit content for video games. They can feature a large range of tools and elements to aid developers into creating a game, such as renderers, animation and scripting to name a few. The engines allow the process of video games to be economized. This is because you can use the same game engine to create different games. Think of it as a big box and it contains a family of tools to help you with all aspects of creating a game such as audio, graphics and AI functions. Ever since video games existed, it took a while for game engines to be part of the industry. Games would have to be made completely from scratch to make the optimal use of the hardware. The first few games engines came around in 1983, in the form of 2D game creation systems for independent use. Pinball Construction Set and ACSII s War Game Construction Kit were the first 2 that came around with many more to follow. • 6. Benefits Of Genetically Engineered Food The alteration of plant and animal genetic codes for the ultimate purpose of increasing food abundance is an increasingly popular, yet controversial practice in the 21st century. Genetic engineering of food is done for a number of reasons, the biggest of which is increasing food supplies in the world, especially for the third world countries. However, there are arguments and even activist movements against genetic engineering of food, which begs the question why is genetically engineered food so controversial? The pro and con arguments of the genetic engineering of food cannot be overlooked. Although it is a controversial practice, genetically engineered food is more useful than harmful to people and the planet. The Benefits of Genetically Engineered Food Food security is one of the biggest concerns in the world today given the rate at which climate change is crippling the planet s natural ability to sustain humanity. Forman and Silverstein (2012) note that should the current rate of global warming and climate change persist for the next ten years, the planet not just the developing world will officially be in a food crisis. This information can be backed by the fact that the world is already struggling to stay fed (Qaim Kouser, 2013). Genetic engineering of food, therefore, is a relevant topic as it is a means through which hunger and famine can be avoided permanently. It is only through genetic engineering that droughts, pests, weed resistant crops, and pest resistant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Advantages Of Homeschooling Every year, there is a gradual intake of debates on whether homeschooling is more effective than public schooling. Since 2003, there has been a steady increase of 36% of students being homeschooled in the United States, and a statistic of 1.5 million students being homeschooled in 2007 (Bergstrom 5). As more and more students are being homeschooled, it is beginning to become a more effective way of learning and lifestyle than going to public school. Despite the disadvantages people accuse about homeschooling, it can actually improve the life of students by giving them a better advantage to a social life, reducing the risk of being involved in alcohol or drug use, developing a higher standard of maturity and morals that students of public schooling do not have, and having more success in schoolwork and learning. Throughout a child s life of public schooling, they have a vast variety of social interactions with other students and their teachers, but despite what many peers believe about the interactions in homeschooling, they too have the same and even more as those in public schooling. According to Koehler, studies have shown that the, homeschooled population demonstrated above average of overall social skills, (Koehler 4). Because homeschoolers do not get the same advantages as public schooling, they gain a wide variety of socialization throughout experiences offered at church groups, playing at parks, joining outside clubs or organizations, and tutoring groups. • 9. USS Midway Museum USS Midway Museum On September 24, 2016 I had the privilege of visiting the USS Midway Historical Museum. My friend Michelle, who is also a CBU student, accompanied me while we explored this fantastic site. I was recommended to tour the USS Midway by my German foreign exchange student who was able to visit the attraction a couple weeks earlier. Niels emphasized how much he enjoyed his visit and explained that it was a shame that I had not been there earlier, due to the fact that I live so close to San Diego. It was Niel s advice, paired with my prior interest in the history of this battleship that inspired me to finally see it for myself. Michelle and I arrived on a beautiful San Diego day at North Harbor Drive near the Coronado Broadway Pier. We parked somewhat far away because it was a busy day on the harbor. Walking towards the ship, we witnessed street performers doing all sorts of entertaining things that created a fun atmosphere. Some were blowing up balloons for kids, while others were playing their instruments, filling the air with a sweet melody. Walking along this beautiful parkway, looking out at the blue waters crashing against the docks, I could not help but realize how blessed and grateful I am to be free in such a great nation. The first attraction I saw was a huge granite monument just across the street from the Midway. It honored the second most decorated ship in WWII, known as the USS San Diego CL 53. • 13. The Epic Of Judea Short Story Another day, and more dead sheep littered the hills of Judea. A fierce pack of roaming wolves had struck again. All the shepherd boys of Judea, on high alert, had been arming themselves with pitchforks and knives to defend their helpless herds of sheep. One of these shepherd boys went by the name of Joshua. Joshua tended to the sheep of his frail father, and looked after his family. He was a good son, and a loving brother. Mentiri, another shepherd boy, was the biggest and strongest of all the shepherd boys in the village. For his strength, good looks, and physical prowess, he was the pride of the village. On a warm summer night on the hills of Judea, under a full moon, Joshua and Mentiri were tending to their flock. A low howl came from the far side of the hill. The far off ... Joshua felt a surge of bravery in his heart, like no other feeling he d had felt before. He grabbed his pitchfork and stoically held his ground. He glanced at Mentiri, and to his surprise, saw fear in his eyes and knew he was on his own. He knew he would get no aid from the larger, stronger man. The largest wolf, who seemed to be the leader of the pack of seven wolves, sprang at Joshua, its jaws wide open. Joshua blocked the wolf with his pitchfork, and stabbed him in the throat with his knife. He paused and looked around. Mentiri was no where to be found, for the pride of the village had fled to a nearby cave and was cowering in fear. The pack of seven wolves, now six, set upon Joshua with ferocity. • 14. An Effective System For Lossless Image Compression Abstract In this paper, we proposed an effective system for lossless image compression using different wavelet transform such as the stationary wavelet transform, the non decimated wavelet transform, and discrete wavelet transform with delta encoding and compare the results without delta encoding. With the development in the field of networking in the process of sending and receiving files needed to effective techniques for image compression as the raw images required large amounts of disk space to defect during transportation and storage operations. We used lossless compression to maintain the original features of the image in this process; there is a major problem which often is low compression ratios. We also use three types of wavelet transform which are discrete wavelet transform, non decimated wavelet transform, and stationary wavelet transform to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system for comparison and to show the differences between each type to overcome previous challenges. This paper proposed a system for lossless image compression based on the use of the three types of wavelet transforms using Arithmetic coding and Huffman coding with delta coding, which helps in the high compression ratio to clarify the extent of the difference and distinction between each type. The results show that the stationary wavelet transform outperforms the non decimated wavelet transform and the discrete wavelet transform and with delta encoding outperforms without delta ... The Supreme Court Of Canada Decision Essay Introduction You have asked me to summarize the Supreme Court of Canada decision in Doré v Barreau du Québec, 2012 SCC 12, SCR 395 and analyze whether the Law society is likely to sanction Evan Frank. Although the Rules of Professional Conduct place limitations on certain conduct to ensure professionalism, the expressive rights of lawyers must be given due respect and the likelihood of Mr. Frank s sanction will depend on a fair balance of expressive value of the content in the letter, with the public s expectation of professionalism. Case summary: Doré v Barreau du Québec During a criminal proceeding where the appellant, Mr. Doré was the defence council in the Superior court of Quebec, he was subject to personal attacks by Justice Boilard. Taking offence from the personal attacks, he wrote a letter to the judge, which included attacks on the judge s professionalism, social skills, and shaming him as a judge. (Doré, at Para. 10) A complaint was filed against Mr. Doré, by the Syndic du Barreau for violation of article 2.03 of the Code of ethics of advocates, R.R.Q. 1981, c. B 1, r.1, and oath of office. The article stated that the conduct of an advocate must bear the stamp of objectivity, moderation and dignity (Para. 13) which the judicial council concluded that Mr. Doré violated. The Judicial council, rejecting Mr. Dore s claim that the letter was private, concluded that Judge Boilard s conduct did not justify the content in letter. (Doré, at para.16) The issue before ... Apuleius In-Depth Ekphrasis Of Diana And Actaeon Although ekphrases are frequent in the novel, Apuleius in depth ekphrasis of Diana and Actaeon specifically describes the physical form of statues as a work of art, which ultimately tie into Lucius s adventure. The use of ekphrasis leads into yet another interpolated tale that is seemingly not related to the novel. However, ekphrasis not only describes the statues in great detail but also describes how Apuleius molds the ancient Roman tale into Lucius s story. Diana s statue was made of Parian marble occupied the exact center point and as an utterly resplendent piece of statuary that shone bright on the reflective marble (Met. 2.4, pp. 33 34). Lucius describes Actaeon as craning forward and gawking at the deity (Met. 2.4, pp. 34). Craning and gawking suggest that Actaeon is overly curious and depraved. The connotation of gawking suggests that Actaeon was knowingly intruding on Diana s bath. Similarly, Lucius is very eager and curious like when he is struck near senseless by my unbearable yearning by the witchcraft in Thessaly (Met. 2.2, pp. 22). Lucius further emphasizes how eager in witchcraft that he is to sign up as [Pamphile s] apprentice and pay through the nose for it (Met. 2.6, pp. 25). The similar inquisitive character of Actaeon and Lucius is used to construct a parallel between the two narratives. The purposeful story of Diana and Actaeon provides a similar message to The Golden Ass. Actaeon and Lucius were both overly curious and saw what they should not have seen. Actaeon gawked at Diana bathing while Lucius saw Pamphile turn into an owl (Met. 3.21, pp. 60). Although Actaeon is turned into a stag by Diana and then devoured by his hunting dogs, Lucius is forgiven and returns to his normal human form to serve for Isis beliefs. The irony of Lucius describing Actaeon also shows a parallel with Apuleius s description of Lucius throughout the novel. • 21. Paul Laurence Dunbar Poem Analysis Paul Laurence Dunbar is African American poet who lived from in the late 1880s to the early 1900s. During his life, Dunbar wrote many poems, in both dialect and standard english. However, many of his poems are considered controversial now, due to negative racial stereotypes and dialect. Currently, some believe that Dunbar s poetry perpetuates harmful stereotypes such as use of dialect; while others believe that it helps break racial stereotypes through the portrayed emotions. Dunbar s dialect poetry is helpful for African Americans, because it accurately depicts the experience of African Americans and humanizes them. The depiction black struggles within Dunbar s dialect poetry makes Dunbar s poetry beneficial for the black race. For example, in An Ante bellum Sermon, when Dunbar writes But when Moses wif his powah Comes an sets us chillun free, We will praise de gracious Mastah, Dat has gin us liberty; An we ll shout ouah halleluyahs, On dat mighty reck nin day, When we se reco nised ez citiz , Huh uh! Chillun, let us pray! , he is depicting a common feeling of African Americans. Although this poem takes place before the Civil War, and before Dunbar s birth, both of Dunbar s parents were ex slaves, which gave him an understanding of slavery. With an understanding of slavery, Dunbar was able to depict the desire for slaves to be rid of the unjust system. Beyond that, the idea is still applicable to the time in which he lived. From one issue to another, people anticipate equality while in dire situations. Similarly, in Song, Dunbar depicts the harmful race relations from his time. Instead of the black experience being told from a sympathizer perspective, Dunbar has a better understanding of what it was like to be black in the 1890s. The competition and hate between flowers symbolizes the conflict between white and black people. Through this metaphor, especially at the end when they celebrate the death of all daisies when he writes In de fiel de flags is wavin in a tantalizing way, Kin o joicin case de daisies all is daid, Dunbar depicts the hateful race relations of his time. All of the information is relevant to project management in that providing disaster relief is a project much like any other project. The main differences are that it is more complex, requires immediate action, and is less tolerant of mistakes (scope change). The author points out that Effective planning helps any project, but in disaster relief efforts, it can make the difference between life and death, normality and chaos. A contributor, Myles Fish of International Aid is quoted as saying If there is not a predetermined contribution and consummation, then you will end up taking on every need, which is far too taxing on any organization and presents a situation where the entire effort never has an end (2) Other areas mentioned include the importance of communication at all levels and between all relief agencies. George Clooney s Film Good Night And Good Luck Though it is set in the 1950s, George Clooney s film Good Night and Good Luck is still remarkably relevant today as an example of the George Clooney, who wrote, directed, and costarred in the film, is the son of journalist Nick Clooney. Prior to transferring to Drexel, I attended American University, where the elder Clooney was on the faculty as a journalist in residence. Shortly after I was accepted into AU, I remember reading an article reporting that Nick and George Clooney, along with several congressmen and prominent activists, had been arrested at the Sudanese Embassy for protesting the human rights violations perpetrated by the country s leadership. • 33. Walter Mitty Dream In The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Walter Mitty daydreams into fantastic fantasies as he faces the harshness of reality. Walter is first seen as the Commander of a navy hydroplane through a hurricane. However, the The Old Man ain t afraid of Hell (The) in the hurricane is afraid of his wife as she nags him for speeding. Unnamed Mrs. Mitty continues to command her husband even insisting that he wear gloves. Walter, upset, purposely takes off the gloves at a red light. As he stopped at the red light for too long, a cop tells him to Pick it up, brother! (The). Mitty interestingly assumed the cop to be referring to the gloves he took off instead of the car. Thurber had a troublesome marriage with Althea; Walter is constantly being controlled by Mrs. Mitty. Because of Mrs. Mitty s nagging and imposing influence seen in paragraphs 3 and 4, Walter is triggered into a daydream. As a world famous surgeon, he not only is in control of his life, but the life of his patient. Mitty cleverly adapts to emergencies like using a fountain pen to fix the needed surgical machinery (The). Every time he escapes, it is because of a trigger, often through an authority figure imposing on him. In fact, it is the clear distinction between fantasy and reality that makes escaping a theme. The heavy juxtaposition between diction of the dream world and real life is evident. For example, in the second daydream as a surgeon, Dr. Mitty snapped at fellow doctors and nurses to give him a fountain pen and uses fake yet complicated sounding medical terms such as Obstreosis of the ductal tract (The). However, in the subsequent paragraph as Walter clumsily almost hits another car in the parking lot in reality, he only muttered in response to the valet, unable to give a definitive reply. The dramatic juxtaposition between Mitty s spectacular fantasies and mundane reality drives the story. Thurber highlights Mitty s desperateness for action through the drastic differences in scenes. Also, Thurber distinguishes daydreams by incorporating much more imperative voice and literary devices compared to straight dialogue in the reality. Thurber literally makes the fantasies more alive and interesting than boring reality. Onomatopoeia is seen in 3 of the 5 daydreams, ta pocketa pocketa... in paragraph 1 for the hydroplane and the same sound for the surgical machine (The). Rat tat tatting in paragraph 14 reflects the machine gun sounds Captain Mitty heard during war. By using onomatopoeia, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
