Information And Knowledge About Bigchange s Operation And...
In order to gain more deep understanding and knowledge about BigChange s operation and future
plan, the researcher conducted an in depth interview with the founder of the company who is also the
current CEO. Hence, this part of the chapter 4 will display five main topics of the research collected
from the interview as well as providing some direct quotes of the CEO.
4.4.1. Company Overview
It is essential for the researcher to gain insights into the operation and development of BigChange. The
CEO responded with meticulous answers about current situation and growth strategies. To illustrate,
the CEO believes his company is in the early phase of growth. Though they have just offered their
services and products for 2 years, their performances in the market are remarkable with the annual
revenue of ₤2 million. Moreover, he estimates the market share that the company has gained after two
years working is from 0.5% to 1% and he confirms that the UK telematics is one of the biggest
markets in Europe. Thus it seems to take BigChange more time and efforts to achieve its ambition as a
market leader.
When asking about the current strategy of BigChange, the CEO demonstrated that they are providing
services and products to specified industries in the UK by creating different industry sites. Then they
introduce sites and services to a customer coming from those industries, it will be timesaving and easy
to offer and customise the sites. Furthermore, he illustrated that services can be a

Why Charles Johnson Is Not An Indefatigable Investigator,...
You WOULD NOT want Charles Johnson to look into your background, not if you had anything to
hide. He is an indefatigable investigator, who, at the campus conservative magazine, the Claremont
Independent and at his own rollicking blog for four years kept Claremont McKenna College buzzing
with revelations about affirmative action, politically tendentious speakers, and abuses in student
government. He held college administrators feet to the fire, and they got singed. It was easier to
condemn than to refute him, and his critics soon gave up on the latter. Outside CMC, more
disinterested judges quickly discovered the boldness of his reporting and commentary. Soon he had
been awarded virtually every prize a young journalist of conservative disposition could receive: the
Robert L. Bartley Fellowship at the Wall Street Journal, the Eric Breindel Award, the Robert Novak
Award from the Phillips Foundation, and a Publius Fellowship at the Claremont Institute. Hitting the
trifecta is hard, but what Charles achieved is so remarkable as to be nameless: hitting what, the
quadrifecta?
While leading his very public life as a student journalist, Charles pursued, more quietly but just as
intrepidly, the study of politics. His senior thesis, a precocious work of political biography, became the
starting point for the book (his first) you are now reading. Why Coolidge Matters marks the
appearance of a major new conservative talent and the reappearance of a major old one.

Ethical Issue in Pharmacy
Ethical issues in the retail pharmaceutical industry: An analysis of the ethical dilemmas faced within
Chaguanas Drug Mart Limited Abstract: The ethical duty of a pharmacy is to promote a patient s best
interest. However, certain obvious ethical issues will arise. Within any business involved in bulk
purchasing the issue of unconscious theft will also occur. The following paper focuses on the
application of ethical theories that supports as well as argues the behavior within Chaguanas Drug
Mart. Chaguanas Drug Mart was established in 2008 and is no ordinary pharmacy since it provides
more than your medical needs such as beautiful unusual gifts. The store stocks a range of alternative
products, including pet care items, comfort food, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many customers are relatives or friends of the workers and are aware that the drugs are the only
source to relief but do not go to the doctor for the necessary documents since there is easy access to
the items such as antibiotics. Those who work in the medical field know that protecting patient safety
is the ultimate ethical principle; therefore the argument is twofold where technicians face many ethical
dilemmas because the total amount of good minuses the total the amount of bad however Kantian
argues that the wrong thing regardless of how justifiable is till the wrong thing. The ethical dilemma is
resolved however by placing inventory checks on all prescription drugs within the business which will
manage the supply and movement of stock/Inventory. Although this may not completely solve the
current issue, it will certainly limit the level of diversion. Dilemma 2 Employee monitoring in the
work environment Employee monitoring has emerged as a necessity and is the act of watching and
monitoring employees actions during working hours using employer equipment/property (Raposa
Mujtaba, 2003). Within the company, employees have disregarded the term staff discount by
practicing in unethical behaviour which encompasses stealing the drugstore supplies as well as time
theft. Although time theft can be a more subtle form of unethical behaviour, according to

Methods And Approaches For The Collection And...
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter of the research intends to provide basic understanding of the adopted research design,
methods and approaches for the collection and interpretation of data (Kumar Phrommathed, 2005).
The methodology does not only offers the fundamentals of adopted research methods, but also intends
to present the rationale for the selected research i.e. specific research methods and techniques. In
addition, it provides a description of the research instruments through which the relevant information
was collected and gathered in the research study.
3.1 Research Design
The researcher decided to use primary data for the research study (Burns Bush, 2006). The use of
primary data provided the researcher with first hand information regarding the topic of interest, which
was then used to address the research questions. Considering the nature of the research study, the
researcher used quantitative research design to develop, predict, and address the research questions
(Polkinghorne, 2005).
3.2 Research Philosophy
In light of the literature, research philosophy is defined as the process of collecting and analysing
collected data in standardised and unique manner (Crossan, 2003). The most commonly used research
philosophies include; realism, positivism, and interpretivism. On the basis of the research objectives
and design, the most appropriate research philosophy was positivism.
According to positivist philosophy, the researcher remains disconnected from the

Jean-Georges Vongerichten s Life And Accomplishments
Jean Georges Vongerichten Despite his overwhelming name that seems to extrude nobility and power
Chef Jean Georges is a very down to earth and laid back gentleman who collects vintage toasters.
Born in the middle of March in 1957 in Alsace France this future chef was destined to be a great Chef.
With his earliest memories with his family centering around food it is no wonder he became a Chef.
Growing up he was around his family run business on a daily basis. One of the main reasons he fell in
love with cooking was watching his mother and grandmother in the kitchen on a daily basis where
they would prepare for, and feed, the employees of the business. Each day they would prep and cook

The Media Of Teen Drug Abuse
What causes the negative stigma among African American teenagers in the media regarding teen drug
abuse, and does this stereotype hold any ground? We chose to research this topic because of the
common stigma that the media portrays on every day African American teens, and we wanted to know
how this effects their everyday lives, like how they are treated because of this stigma. Further research
in this area could be a step forward into eliminating every day stereotypes and helping take another
step towards equality in the United States. It is important as a sociologist to research these issues so
that society can take steps forward to a more equal and understanding society. We plan to address this
issue in a way that could help readers understand the stigma these stereotypes have on teens, and how
it effects the way they experience life as a whole. Social problems are what affect us in today s society
and when Media today portrays African American teens as lazy, and violent drug users many actually
take these stereotypes to heart.
In the article Stereotype or Reality: Another Look At Alcohol and Drug Use Among African American
Children, speaks on the issues of medias portrayal of African American Children living in high risk
environments in overwhelmingly negative terms such as children under siege, Endangered Species,
lost generation, and so much more. The article also addresses the stereotype of how African American

Essay on Mesoamerican Astronomy
Introduction For centuries, people from all latitudes have been fascinated by the night sky. The
unreachable stars, the Moon, the comets and all the events happening in the sky, fired up imaginations
and became symbols of life and death, of war, peace and the passing of time and the seasons. The
movement of the stars was used to establish the time for planting and harvesting, to prepare for the
long winters and to try to discover the future and destiny, the eternal unknown destiny of the human
race. Three large human groups, the Mayans, the Aztecs and the Zapotecs populated the Central and
Southeastern regions of Mexico long before the discovery of the continent by Columbus. These
ancient cultures developed a very complex knowledge of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They produced a very accurate 360 day long calendar they used to measure long periods of time.
Developing an extended astronomical knowledge was not very easy because their astronomers did all
their observations with the naked eye. However, they were able to do all kinds of incredibly precise
astronomical measurements and calculate the seasons, the solstices and eclipses. They did all this by
following the patterns of the movements of planets and stars, observing the shadows cast by the Sun,
and using some rudimentary instruments. The practice of astronomy was relegated to the ilhuica
tlamatilizmatini, or wise man who studies heaven . These priest astronomers had a great amount of
power, given the fact that they could essentially predict the future. (Welser Sherrill) II Planets, Stars,
the Moon and the Sun. Venus. The Mayans gave great importance to the planet Venus; they recorded
its transit across the sky and used this information to create the Dresden Codex which contains the
data for the full circle of this planet. The Mayans counted five repetitions of the cycle of Venus, each
one with a length of 584 days, which correspond to approximately 8 years. In the Mayan mythology,
Venus is the companion of the sun. The observed that Venus is always close to the sun in the sky,
rising before sunrise as morning star or after sunset as evening star. Venus was so important to the

If a child has a language delay, then they will not develop language skills as fast as their peers. This
means that a language delay is associated with development issues. However, most are able to catch
up with everyone else by the time they get to preschool. In the article I found, from the National
Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, it describes a Specific Language
Impairment as a disorder of language in which the accomplishment of language skills is delayed in
children exhibiting no hearing loss or no other developmental delays. This means a Specific Language
Impairment is not related to development. Further, according to the article I found, a Specific

Rhino Poaching Essay
Poaching of Rhinos: A Growing Transnational Crime Industry
In 2011, the West African black rhino was declared extinct by the IUCN (International Union for
Conservation and Nature). Now all five rhino species left are in the endangers list (Poaching: The
Statistics). The reason the rhino population has nearly been driven to extinction is due to poaching.
The rhinos are being hunted and killed for their horns, which is a valued ingredient used in traditional
Asian medicines (Poaching of Rhinos in the Spotlight). In this essay, I will explore why the rhinos are
being poached, the overall impact of poaching in the rhino population, and what the authorities are
doing to deal with this profitable transnational crime industry.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the rhino ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

however mostly happened in the 70 s and 80 s in Yamen (Shivamber). Another reason is that due to its

rhino horn is more expensive than most things out there. For example, one kilo of marijuana is rated at
about $5,060, one kilo of gold at about $42, 972, and a kilo of cocaine at about $48,885. However, the
value of a kilo of rhino horn is about $100,000. It is estimated that one rhino horn can produce about
$1 million dollars. This is the reason being why this is such a profitable businesses for many crime
organizations (Shivamber).
Since 2008, Poachers have killed more than 5,940 African rhinos. According to the IUCN and the

it a higher increase for the sixth year in a row (Poaching Statistics). The countries affected by this are

Introduction to Stonebridge
Stonebridge, since 1991, is a middle size, privately owned hotel development and hospitality
management company. Currently, this firm owns more than 7000 guest rooms, holding franchise
license with Hilton Worldwide, Marriott International, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and
InterContinental Hotel Group. Its primary bands are Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn Suites, Marriott
Hotels. [1]
Stonebridge s problems to be resolved
As of 2006, hotel information systems had been fragmented. With applications catering to specific
functions with little or no integration between each system. In a larger sense, hospitality was
hampered by legacy systems which were often incompatible and hard to update. [2] Since Stonebridge
had acquired many hotels while growing, it had many old compatibility related problems. These hotels
management systems are inconsistent.
Invoice processing was inefficient and error prone. This process had been totally paper and manual
based. Worse, aside from difficulty to find invoices, some invoices had been missing.
Inconsistencies between payroll and employee time tracking management systems. The process of

Brazil takes place during Christmas in an urban region that is never characterized by name but by its

Observation can be made on a macro and micro scale, as behavior of a large group can affect the
behavior of individuals (Merton, 1938). In Brazil, society is regulated and positioned a certain way
that satisfies its government. Reaching a desirable achieved status seems hard to accomplish and only
possible if conformed to the Ministry s regime. Sam, however, was offered a promotion by the master
status himself, Mr. Helpmann. Seemingly, Sam s promotion offer was possible because of his ascribed
status being the son of Mr. Helpmann s former co worker and his power hungry mother s connection
with the Ministry. The social institution in the world of Brazil is centralized to abide the Ministry, who
targets society to be uniformed and consumers. Considering the Consumers for Christ signs and the
girls who wishes to Santa for her own credit card , there is an encompassing feeling of consumerism
that citizens believe as holy. Displays of Tönnies Gesellschaft are frequent, as social control must rest
on more formal techniques, such as laws and legally defined punishments (Schaefer, 2013). Behaviors
of the people are carried with the subconscious awareness of the Ministry, hence the lack of
individualism and expectation of carrying out usual social roles and norms. Any employee of the

Problems Associated With Comorbidities And Its Effects On...
Closely associated with comorbidities, is the concept of addressing any vulnerabilities or hurdles that
consumers might face, not only in undertaking treatment, but in their day to day life. These hurdles
include such things as impairments in vision, hearing or coordination.11 Another core concept that is
pertinent to consider in management of these young people is to recognise that they are in an
incredibly dynamic phase of development. Each individual will be referred at a different emotional,
psychological and physiological stage, and each individual will evolve, mature and develop at a
different trajectory. The clinician must take this development into consideration to ensure firstly, that
the treatment is appropriate for the individual s current level of development, and secondly, that the
treatment considers the likely development course, and evolves with this development.12 In my own
clinical experience, it is not uncommon for families, schools and organisations to present in crisis,
with the hope of obtaining immediate answers and rapid improvements. However, despite these many
agendas, it is important for clinicians to have a clear mind and sound knowledge of human learning
and behaviour modification. With both the psychological and neurobiological understanding of the
formation of learnt behaviours and habit formation, it is crucial that both the clinician and the
consumers are aware of the need for appropriate treatment durations, and understand that it may take

The Evolution Of Tetra Pods
It is often debated which species share common ancestors, in particular, how closely related
amphibians, mammals and osteichthyes are. The evolution of tetra pods, or four legged animals, from
aquatic animals such as fish can be traced back 365 million years ago to the Devonian, 408 360, mya,
and evidence shows that this evolution was divergent in nature (Freeman, S. 2011; Myer, A and
Zardoya, R. 2004). Divergent evolution, also sometimes termed adaptive radiation, occurs over many
geological times and gives rise to a number of new species that all occupy different habitats and show
characteristics that assist in survival and reproduction under their natural selection pressures (Kinear,

2011). Different organisms can evolve in similar ways even if they are not similar by descent from a
common ancestor and this is known as homoplasy (Hawks, J. 2005). Classification of animals is an
important field of biology, as new knowledge about genetics, anatomy and evolutionary relationships
often leads to new thoughts on how different groups of organisms are related. In the biological
systems of classification, all organisms are divided and classed into increasingly specific groups,
starting with the kingdom, and finally being classed down to their genus and species (Huxley, L;
Watter, M. 2005). Animals are either vertebrates or invertebrates, and this determines what phyla they
belong to. All vertebrates, for example are all classed under the chordate phylum, meaning that they
all evolved from an ancestor that had a notochord along the back (dorsal) side. Mammals, fish,
reptiles, amphibians and birds are all chordates. Studies on vertebrates have revealed that progressive
evolutionary adaptations, such as improved respiration, efficient reproduction and paired muscular
appendages enabled the vertebrates to survive in a wider range of habitats and on land. The
development of the earliest vertebrates and the transition from

Portrayal Of Women In Persepolis
Women in our society have been treated as a sideline, not included, and muted across our generations.
In the graphic novel Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi shows religion and authority to portray that women in
the text are marginalized, excluded, and silenced. This graphic novel takes place in Iran during the
Islamic Revolution, which influenced a lot of how women were treated. The women in Persepolis are
marginalized, excluded, and silenced by restricted communication, forbidden to wear what they want,
and not always having control of their actions. Persepolis demonstrates women being marginalized,
excluded, and silenced through restricted communication. In the chapter The Key , the girls are being
marginalized and silenced by Marji explaining a mandatory self flagellation ritual they perform twice
a day as mourning the dead of the war, Marji says, ...And we had to beat our chests in a voice over, as
a way of telling us she had no choice in the ritual or to speak during it(95). The image for the self
flagellation additionally portrays this thought by everyone executing the same beating, dressed the
same, and their emanata expresses a straight face looking forward in silence. Satrapi also goes on
saying and showing for initiation for the beginning of school, all the girls are illustrated as confused
with question marks above them as indication, as the icon/teacher says, Let s go children on the

It s dark, then all of a sudden everything lights up with colors of green, red and blue. The cascade of
colors roaming through the sky has the crowd of people in awe. These colors of light are known as the

The Northern Lights appear when the Earth s magnetic field interacts with certain solar winds.

The Most Important Composers Of The Nineteenth Century
Johannes Brahms was one of the most important composers of the nineteenth century. Although he is
forever enshrined in music history as one of the three B s (Along with Beethoven, and Bach), Brahms
contribution to the musical world is far greater than just the letter B. ( Self Confidence par. 9) From
his works in orchestral music (such as his four symphonies, and concertos) to his piano, chamber, and
choral music, all of these have had a meaningful impact the world of music, both in the nineteenth
century, and today. (Sandberger par. 1) Johannes Brahms was born in Hamburg, Germany on May 7,
1833, to Johanna Nissen and Johann Brahms. ( Museum par. 1)At the age of 7, Brahms began
studying Piano under Otto Marxsen, and Eduard Maxsen. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1864, these words came to life in Brahms first piece, German Requiem. Inspired by the death of his
mother in 1865, he selected bible verses himself for the piece, (Forney 244) and it would be the piece
that launched him into stardom. Clara Schumann even remarked: Seeing Johannes standing there with
the wand in hand, I had to think over and over of my dear Robert s prophecy, let him wave his magic
wand and have his way with chorus and orchestra that today came to fulfillment. (Sandberger par. 5)
In 1871, Brahms moved into an apartment in Vienna, Austria, and soon became very successful (in
part due to his status as heir to Robert Schumann who passed away in 1856, and the relative fame of
his composition German Requiem). (Forney 244) A year later Brahms would become the director of
the Viennese choral society Singakademie. ( Museum par.15) Brahms also traveled widely during this
period. He would regularly visit various cities in Germany, Italy, and Austria, and these would serve as
the composing sights for many of his most famous works. In 1889 Brahms became an honorary citizen
of the city of Hamburg, and was inducted into the Leopold Order by Austrian Emperor Franz Josef I
that same year. ( Museum par. 29) By 1895, Brahms had conducted his last concert, and one year later

The Macondo Blowout
The Macondo Blowout occurred on April 20, 2010 and caused over four million barrels of crude oil,
hydrocarbons, to spill into the Gulf of Mexico (Peterson et al.). This event is also known as the
Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Subsequently, hydrocarbon plumes formed from the oil spill and with the
natural water plumes that feed many corals, causing concern for coral communities from many
researchers, so investigations were made to inquire about the health of coral communities nearby
(Fisher et al. 796). Results showed that over half of coral communities within twenty kilometers of the
explosion site displayed signs of harm (Fisher et al. 297). The effects of Deepwater Horizon oil spill

Paul Grice s Cooperative Method
Grice s maxims
We use the language every day to communicate with each other in order to learn.in other words we
need language to cooperate.
In linguistics the cooperative principles design to cooperate to work together in order to communicate
efficiently between two people or groups of people.
Grice s maxims was written in 1975 and created by Paul Grice about how follow the conversation
maxims. The linguist Paul Grice presented these maxims in depth and give us four maxims.
The cooperative principle is generally about cooperative with one another when two people want to
speak or to exchange the conversation.

If we violate the maxim of quality, we lie. If we violate the maxim of quantity by not giving enough
information. According to Grice, a maxim has been flouted and implicature .There is an important
relation between conventional and an implicit meaning. Speakers can interact in many utterances, but
the hearer gather the utters. Cooperative principle attempts to make the utterances more difficult rather
easier and can delete information.
The CP is concerned with being helpful, avoiding miscommunication particularly in speaking. Many
problems in interpretation between Grice s use of the term cooperation with a technical meaning, and
meaning of the word ,because dialogue may be right or wrong termed as being cooperative .

The Beware Of Dog Sign Posted At Cupcakes For Kids
The Beware of Dog sign posted at Cupcakes for Kids is an absolute defense that will likely remove
Plaintiff from any liability if the Defendant files a counterclaim. According to Florida Statute § 767.04
(2015), an owner is not liable, except as to a person under the age of 6 . . . if at the time of any such
injury the owner had displayed in a prominent place on his or her premises a sign easily readable
including the words Bad Dog. It is essential that the Bad Dog sign or equivalent wording must be
easily readable as well as posted in a prominent place. Carroll v. Moxley, 241 So. 2d 681 (Fla. 1970).
The sign must be easily readable meaning that the sign is legible and capable of being read, not
necessarily that the injured party must have been able to actually read and understand it. Registe v.
Porter, 557 So. 2d 214 (Fla. 2d DCA 1990).
In order to be relieved of liability, an owner must have a prominently placed Bad Dog sign that is
easily readable. In Carroll, the court held that the purpose of having a prominently placed sign that is
easily readable is to give actual notice of the risk of a bite to the victim. Carroll, 241 So. 2d at 682.
The owner of the store in Carroll had a Beware of Dog sign beside the counter of the hardware store.

The Effects Of Outdoor Sports Lighting On The Community
Can something as common as lighting cause enough contention to divide a community? In New
Providence the answer is a resounding yes. Without land available for the opening of new athletic
fields, there simply are not enough sports fields to meet the needs of the town s population. In an
effort to solve this dilemma, the proposal has been made by the New Providence Partnership for
Recreation (NPPR) to install lighting in Lieder Field. The benefits to the community include an
increase in hours each day the field may be used at no expense to the taxpayer. Yet, others in the
community believe that outdoor sports lighting would have a negative impact on the quality of life in
the community, be too costly and would diminish the property value of nearby homes. While athletic
field lights have been used in southern New Jersey without these negative impacts that part of the state
is significantly more rural than densely populated New Providence. Is athletic field lighting beneficial
for the town of New Providence? While there are always benefits as well as negative consequences for
community decisions, the benefits of installing athletic field lighting far outweigh the negative
ramifications.
Availability of Fields for Residents Use There is a growing need in the community for athletic fields,
yet there is not land available to build additional facilities. The NPPR believes installing Lieder Field
lighting would allow sports competitions to be held past dusk all year long,

What Role Does Morality Play In A Utopian Society
The concept of utopia is one which has many differing connotations and is therefore also one which
cannot be confined to one interpretation alone. The term is commonly used to represent a community
or society that, in theory, possesses highly desirable or near perfect qualities; however, these
encompassing ideals, which arguably place emphasis on egalitarian principles of equality, are
implemented in a number of ways and are subsequently based on varying ideologies, thus insisting on
varying views of morality. The word itself, which was first coined by Sir Thomas More in the early
sixteenth century and used to describe a fictional island society in the Atlantic Ocean, was taken from
the Greek οὐ ( not ) and τόπος ( place ), literally translating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Marriage of Heaven and Hell and Algernon Charles Swinburne s Hermaphroditus seek to expose

well as critiquing the mode of normative sexuality and representations of the body. Another important
concept to consider alongside this is that of dystopia, which is characterized by dehumanization,
totalitarian governments, and all matters associated with a cataclysmic decline in society. Dystopic
societies are usually set in the future and provide an antonymic, frightening opposition to the general
concept of utopia. Rather than portraying an idyllic state of civilisation which promises an exit from
the cycle of life and death, the term dystopia is used to draw attention to real world issues which if

In this article she wrote about three different ways to view a given situation. Her three economic
paradigms are conservative/ free market, liberal/ imperfectionist, and radical/ exploitation. Free
market economics states that individuals are free, independent, rational choosers who are motivated by
self interest. They believe in a free market and that the government should have no control over it, and
that this will lead to competitive markets and economic growth. Liberals also use a market system;
however, they believe that government intervention is necessary. They think that some people don t
have the resources at their disposal to achieve upward mobility. Liberals believe that they it is
necessary for governments to provide an education to all people so that they have a chance to improve
their living conditions. Gertrude s son is an example of the government not successfully
accomplishing this. In the slums, children are not given the education that they need in order to
succeed later in life. This is one example of how the government in South Africa is not doing what an

perspective. Radicals have very firm theories of how workers are exploited by their employers. They

Agricultural Literacy In Agriculture
Agriculture is a staple of every community, people have just lost sight of that. Smith and Park (2006)
report, In 1900, 41% of the American population was employed in agriculture, as compared to 1.9% of
the population in 2002 . How have we become so far removed from the agricultural life that we
believe the propaganda spread about it? Smith and Park (2006) explain why ignorance to agricultural
life has thrived,
Agricultural literacy is an issue that has gained attention in recent years and is a subject of concern to
those in the agriculture business. With fewer agricultural programs offered in schools, generations of
young people are being raised with little knowledge of agriculture. As this cycle continues, lack of
knowledge creates and perpetuates stereotypes concerning farming.
The disconnect between the urban public and rural communities has caused a lot of misunderstandings
on how their food is produced. Balschweid, Thompson, and Cole (1998) state,
As general concerns rise over the way our food is produced, public impressions are tainted by the
actions of special interest groups (Lichte Birkenholz, 1993). As a result, many Americans elect and
influence lawmakers to directly intervene in the practices used in producing our food and fiber
(Hamlin,1962). Because this nation is two full generations removed from living and working on
farms, lawmakers cannot be expected to make informed decisions regarding the safe and appropriate

Mao Zedong Ideology
Mao Zedong as a Chinese Nationalist
Anthony Trang
HST/REL 111
Professor Rush
12/01/2017
Mao Zedong was a man who went down in history as a terrible person who ruled with an iron fist. He
was, however, a man who worked hard for his country. As defined by Merriam Webster dictionary,
loyalty and devotion to a nation; especially : a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation
above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to
those of other nations or supranational groups. Mao is certainly someone who would be called a
nationalist. While Mao was in charge he had a few big objectives which were all for, in his eyes, the
good of the country.
One of his objectives was unifying China by eliminating warlords and getting rid of outsider
influence. Mao initiated sweeping campaigns against bribery, corruption, and tax evasion, among
other things, in order to eliminate the previous chaos and instability that had been created in China s
fractious warlord ruled past. The warlords in the past had caused so many of the problems that Mao
had to live with as there was so much corruption which lead to there being many poor people. A series
of bad harvests in Hunan led to outbreaks of famine, and some of the desperate Hunanese formed a
group under the slogan Eat Rice Without Charge, and seized stores of rice from the wealthier farmers.
Among the shipments they seized was one that Mao s father was sending to the

mechanism is accepted for Fe catalysts,7 but the mechanism over Co catalysts is less clear.1 Ge and
Neurock,8 as well as Ojeda et al.,4 have suggested that the carbide mechanism is the pathway for FT

3.1.1 On the Mechanism and Active Site of the FT Process Over Co Catalysts Several studies have
investigated the effect of syngas on the structure of metallic Co catalysts.9 12 For instance, Karaca et
al. investigated the effect of syngas on a CoPt/Al2O3 catalyst using X Ray Diffraction (XRD).9 After
reducing the catalyst in H2 at 623 K, XRD peaks were observed for face centred cubic (fcc) and
hexagonal close packed (hcp) structures of metallic Co. After exposure to 20 bar of syngas at 493 K,
the fcc XRD peaks became narrower over 5 hrs, which was suggested to be due to an increase in the
particle size due to sintering of the Co metal phase. Over the subsequent 5 hrs this peak decreased in
intensity and a new peak assigned to a carbide phase grew in. Therefore, the authors concluded that
deactivation of the catalyst was due initially to sintering and then, over longer periods of time, to
carbidisation. Wilson and de Groot have investigated the surface reorganisation of a model Co catalyst
upon exposure to 4 bar of a H2/CO mixture (2:1 ratio) at 523 K.10 11 The surface was examined ex
situ in an Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) chamber before and after exposure to syngas using a Scanning
Tunnelling Microscope (STM). Before exposure to CO the surface consisted of flat terraces, with a

In this book, bias towards women is obvious. It is one of the main themes and is not hard to find.
Babmukuru at first suggests that Nhamo, Tambu s brother, be educated instead of Tambu because he is
a boy and she is a girl but after years at this school Nhamo has changed in a bad way and rejects his
family and learns a native language until eventually, he dies in a hospital away from his family. Only
then does Babmukuru offer Tambu to take the place of Nhamo and attend the missionary school by his

Key Character Of Estella Havisham
Another key character from the novel that reflects growth and development as seen in the
bildungsroman genre is, Estella Havisham. She is the biological daughter of Abel Magwitch, a

As we, travel further into her journey, the reader begins to understand that Estella has been raised to

The Emotional Development Of Young Children
The emotional development in young children plays a very important role throughout their lives
especially in their education. From birth to about eight years of age, children are learning the meaning
behind each emotion and how to appropriately use them to express themselves. Erik Erikson,
psychologist, created an 8 socioemotional stage development theory explaining what skills were being
developed at certain ages. Parental monitoring is important during childhood to determine their
emotional progress to catch any delays or disabilities developing. Positive nurturing will create a more
positive outcome in their education. Also how the effects of bullying and child maltreatment can lead
to an poor outcome in your child s educational success. Erik Erikson, a German psychologist created
an eight stage socioemotional development theory about early childhood development. Each stage
shows what emotions and characteristics are being developed during each age of a child s life. Stage 1,
trust vs mistrust; occurs from infancy to 2 years of age. As a baby you must learn to trust that your
mother or caregiver will feed and take care of you until you are able to do so yourself. Stage 2,
autonomy vs shame; usually occurs between 18 months to 2 years and 3 and a half to 4 years of age.
Stage 3 is initiative vs guilt; occurs around 3 and a half years of age. Stage 4 is industry vs inferiority

The main character shows his strength by defeating ultimately his own paranormal figure. This allows
the man to not only help himself, but the other men along with him as well. His choice ultimately
saved them all. This idea of choice is shown in the following vignette as well The Tunnel. Here a dog
appears to warn the man to stay out of or to stay away from the tunnel. The man walks through the
tunnel slowly and cautiously. He gives the illusion that he is looking at something he remembers or his
past per se. Reaching the end of the tunnel he is faced with men of his past. He then tells the men
about his failed choice to put them into action. His determination to send the men back to where they
are from, matches the mountain climbers will to resist sleep. This appears again within the vignette

wedding depending on the specific weather and dressing up as they did is a major play within the
Japanese culture. It is not something seen in many parts of the world. Culture is also shown within the
way they dress. Specifically in The Peach Orchard the actors are dressed in Kimonos. A popular style

Physical Development in Middle Childhood Essay
The physical, cognitive and socio emotional domains of human development are influenced by diverse
factors. Phases of development extend from the beginnings of human life and continue throughout the
lifespan. These developmental phases are characterised by a range of features including brain
development, language development and social development amongst others.
Gross motor skills include activities such as running, skipping and jumping. They involve the use of
the body s larger muscle groups. Gross motor skills greatly improve in middle childhood due to
increased muscle mass, strength and coordination (McDevitt and Ormrod, 2010). These skills also
improve with practice and repetition which can be provided by participation in the ... Show more

A child who is isolated by illness may well develop depression and find it hard to resume socialising
on his return to school . Consequently he may be behind in both physical and social development and
confront the daunting task of recovery. Between the ages of five and twelve years the brain undergoes
great development and growth. The increase in neurons and connections promotes the development of
fine motor skills. This physiological change is a prerequisite for motor skill refinement and growth.
Family income is another factor in the development of the child. A poorer family may not be able to
afford healthy food. They may be uneducated about good nutrition. Their child may miss out on the
nutrition that a good diet delivers. In many homes television and video games are more readily
accessible recreational activities. When both parents work they may not have the time to supervise
extra curricular activities. Time constrained parents may also more frequently choose fast foods, over
looking nutrition for convenience.
The learning environment for middle childhood (as for all others) should be both stimulating and
encouraging . The classroom should accommodate the needs of all its students. It is the responsibility
of the teacher to be cognizant of their various beliefs and customs. The Australian classroom is
becoming increasingly multicultural (Witsel , 2003). By acknowledging a child s culture and the
constraints that

The Battle At Iwo Jima, But Instead, Looking At First...
A. Plan of Investigation The purpose of this investigation is to go beyond the perceived thoughts and
facts about Iwo Jima, but instead, looking at first person accounts and eyewitnesses. Iwo Jima is
known as Thirty Six Days of Hell which takes place from the 19th of February in 1945 to the 26th of
March, 1945. During these thirty six days the goal of this battle was to obtain the island because of the
location and how they would be able to utilize it for a landing strip for damaged aircrafts and
replenishment. The scope of the investigation will be understanding what life was like for the soldiers
on both sides throughout the battle. The method of this investigation will be using interviews,
secondary sources with eyewitness accounts, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When they first arrived, they knew that the Japanese tended to wait for the first wave to pass through
before starting the full blown attack. Clarence Rae described the island, They bombed Iwo for thirty
days before we ever got there. Bombed. Shelled. Everything you could think of to soften it up. . . At
6:30 in the morning all the transports were in place and by 6:40 the war had broken out. Slowly but
surely the American soldiers made progress and secured some of the airfields because by the
beginning of March, two thirds of the island was captured by American soldiers because they had a
strong Marine base and were able to push the Japanese back. After five days the Americans were able
to take over Mt. Suribachi which was such a relief for the soldiers because the five prior days was just
the beginning of the thirty six day war. Iwo Jima veteran, Hershel Woodrow Williams remembers, The
flag going up on Mount Suribachi, on Japanese territory, was something that we as marines really
needed. It was a short lived victory because after the taking over of Mt. Suribachi the bloody battle
resumed with thousands killed and bodies mutilated for thirty one days later. Another veteran, Norman
Baker, remembered vividly, After a while, I wasn t in shocked anymore and that s the worst thing for
me. You became like animals or a machine. The mindset of the Marines at that point in time was

existence and, in many ways, sets the pattern for the genre, neatly fitting the definition of a primary
epic (that is, one that grows out of oral tradition).
In The Odyssey, Homer employs most of the literary and poetic devices associated with epics:
catalogs, digressions, long speeches, journeys or quests, various trials or tests of the hero, similes,
metaphors, and divine intervention.
Homer composed The Odyssey in a meter known as dactylic hexameter, which gives the epic its
elevated style. Each line has six metrical feet. The first five feet may be made up of either dactyls
and/or spondees. A dactyl is a metrical foot consisting of a long sound followed by two short sounds
(BEEEEAT beat beat). A spondee has two long sounds (BEEEEAT BEEEEAT).

Educational Psychology Class Analysis
In the first week of the second semester starts on my long road of potentially becoming a teacher. My
Educational Psychology class had me thinking and analyzing the issues in the world specifically
education. I have always known that there are issues in the world of education but I didn t know some
of the issues are close to home such as our community of De Pere. The issues, conversations we talked
about included the high rates of poverty in children, America s drum major instinct, and the
opportunity gap. All these issues pose a significant issue in our educational system and lives of
children.
Before I get into the detail of what I have learned over the course of three class periods I would like to
address how blessed and thankful I am. While I always try to tell myself that it can always be worse or
that there are many other individuals who are struggling to live. I do not always follow that lesson.
However, by watching videos, in addition with the readings and our class lectures helped me remind
myself of the daily struggles people live by. I will admit I m not the individual who lives in a gated
community and has their own car but I have never had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The opportunity gap is a difference in scores based off two groups. The two groups can be designated
between ethnicity, gender, and economic status. In the state of Wisconsin, standardized tests and the
graduation rate is used to measure the opportunity gap. For example, in third grade reading African
American students scored 26.6 percent lower than Caucasian students in proficient reading. While I m
not exactly a fan of the concept of measuring students learning by standardized tests the gaps do stay
consistent with graduation rates. In the 2012 2013 high school Graduation Class measured in four
years that African American students had a 27.6 percent lower than Caucasian Students. Before the
class lecture, I didn t know how big our opportunity gap

In order to gain more deep understanding and knowledge about BigChange s operation and future plan, the researcher conducted an in depth interview with the founder of the company who is also the current CEO. Hence, this part of the chapter 4 will display five main topics of the research collected from the interview as well as providing some direct quotes of the CEO. 4.4.1. Company Overview It is essential for the researcher to gain insights into the operation and development of BigChange. The CEO responded with meticulous answers about current situation and growth strategies. To illustrate, the CEO believes his company is in the early phase of growth. Though they have just offered their services and products for 2 years, their performances in the market are remarkable with the annual revenue of ₤2 million. Moreover, he estimates the market share that the company has gained after two years working is from 0.5% to 1% and he confirms that the UK telematics is one of the biggest markets in Europe. • 3. Why Charles Johnson Is Not An Indefatigable Investigator,... You WOULD NOT want Charles Johnson to look into your background, not if you had anything to hide. He is an indefatigable investigator, who, at the campus conservative magazine, the Claremont Independent and at his own rollicking blog for four years kept Claremont McKenna College buzzing with revelations about affirmative action, politically tendentious speakers, and abuses in student government. He held college administrators feet to the fire, and they got singed. It was easier to condemn than to refute him, and his critics soon gave up on the latter. Outside CMC, more disinterested judges quickly discovered the boldness of his reporting and commentary. Soon he had been awarded virtually every prize a young journalist of conservative disposition could receive: the Robert L. Bartley Fellowship at the Wall Street Journal, the Eric Breindel Award, the Robert Novak Award from the Phillips Foundation, and a Publius Fellowship at the Claremont Institute. Hitting the trifecta is hard, but what Charles achieved is so remarkable as to be nameless: hitting what, the quadrifecta? While leading his very public life as a student journalist, Charles pursued, more quietly but just as intrepidly, the study of politics. His senior thesis, a precocious work of political biography, became the starting point for the book (his first) you are now reading. Why Coolidge Matters marks the appearance of a major new conservative talent and the reappearance of a major old one. We ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Methods And Approaches For The Collection And... RESEARCH METHODOLOGY This chapter of the research intends to provide basic understanding of the adopted research design, methods and approaches for the collection and interpretation of data (Kumar Phrommathed, 2005). The methodology does not only offers the fundamentals of adopted research methods, but also intends to present the rationale for the selected research i.e. specific research methods and techniques. In addition, it provides a description of the research instruments through which the relevant information was collected and gathered in the research study. 3.1 Research Design The researcher decided to use primary data for the research study (Burns Bush, 2006). The use of primary data provided the researcher with first hand information regarding the topic of interest, which was then used to address the research questions. Considering the nature of the research study, the researcher used quantitative research design to develop, predict, and address the research questions (Polkinghorne, 2005). 3.2 Research Philosophy In light of the literature, research philosophy is defined as the process of collecting and analysing collected data in standardised and unique manner (Crossan, 2003). The most commonly used research philosophies include; realism, positivism, and interpretivism. On the basis of the research objectives and design, the most appropriate research philosophy was positivism. According to positivist philosophy, the researcher remains disconnected from the ... Closely associated with comorbidities, is the concept of addressing any vulnerabilities or hurdles that consumers might face, not only in undertaking treatment, but in their day to day life. These hurdles include such things as impairments in vision, hearing or coordination.11 Another core concept that is pertinent to consider in management of these young people is to recognise that they are in an incredibly dynamic phase of development. Each individual will be referred at a different emotional, psychological and physiological stage, and each individual will evolve, mature and develop at a different trajectory. The clinician must take this development into consideration to ensure firstly, that the treatment is appropriate for the individual s current level of development, and secondly, that the treatment considers the likely development course, and evolves with this development.12 In my own clinical experience, it is not uncommon for families, schools and organisations to present in crisis, with the hope of obtaining immediate answers and rapid improvements. However, despite these many agendas, it is important for clinicians to have a clear mind and sound knowledge of human learning and behaviour modification. With both the psychological and neurobiological understanding of the formation of learnt behaviours and habit formation, it is crucial that both the clinician and the consumers are aware of the need for appropriate treatment durations, and understand that it may take ... Classification of animals is an important field of biology, as new knowledge about genetics, anatomy and evolutionary relationships often leads to new thoughts on how different groups of organisms are related. In the biological systems of classification, all organisms are divided and classed into increasingly specific groups, starting with the kingdom, and finally being classed down to their genus and species (Huxley, L; Watter, M. 2005). Animals are either vertebrates or invertebrates, and this determines what phyla they belong to. All vertebrates, for example are all classed under the chordate phylum, meaning that they all evolved from an ancestor that had a notochord along the back (dorsal) side. Mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians and birds are all chordates. In an effort to solve this dilemma, the proposal has been made by the New Providence Partnership for Recreation (NPPR) to install lighting in Lieder Field. How have we become so far removed from the agricultural life that we believe the propaganda spread about it? Smith and Park (2006) explain why ignorance to agricultural life has thrived, Agricultural literacy is an issue that has gained attention in recent years and is a subject of concern to those in the agriculture business. With fewer agricultural programs offered in schools, generations of young people are being raised with little knowledge of agriculture. As this cycle continues, lack of knowledge creates and perpetuates stereotypes concerning farming. The disconnect between the urban public and rural communities has caused a lot of misunderstandings on how their food is produced. Balschweid, Thompson, and Cole (1998) state, As general concerns rise over the way our food is produced, public impressions are tainted by the actions of special interest groups (Lichte Birkenholz, 1993). As defined by Merriam Webster dictionary, loyalty and devotion to a nation; especially : a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups. Mao is certainly someone who would be called a nationalist. While Mao was in charge he had a few big objectives which were all for, in his eyes, the good of the country. One of his objectives was unifying China by eliminating warlords and getting rid of outsider influence. Mao initiated sweeping campaigns against bribery, corruption, and tax evasion, among other things, in order to eliminate the previous chaos and instability that had been created in China s fractious warlord ruled past. The warlords in the past had caused so many of the problems that Mao had to live with as there was so much corruption which lead to there being many poor people. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3.1.1 On the Mechanism and Active Site of the FT Process Over Co Catalysts Several studies have investigated the effect of syngas on the structure of metallic Co catalysts.9 12 For instance, Karaca et al. investigated the effect of syngas on a CoPt/Al2O3 catalyst using X Ray Diffraction (XRD).9 After reducing the catalyst in H2 at 623 K, XRD peaks were observed for face centred cubic (fcc) and hexagonal close packed (hcp) structures of metallic Co. After exposure to 20 bar of syngas at 493 K, the fcc XRD peaks became narrower over 5 hrs, which was suggested to be due to an increase in the particle size due to sintering of the Co metal phase. Over the subsequent 5 hrs this peak decreased in intensity and a new peak assigned to a carbide phase grew in. Therefore, the authors concluded that deactivation of the catalyst was due initially to sintering and then, over longer periods of time, to carbidisation. Wilson and de Groot have investigated the surface reorganisation of a model Co catalyst upon exposure to 4 bar of a H2/CO mixture (2:1 ratio) at 523 K.10 11 The surface was examined ex situ in an Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) chamber before and after exposure to syngas using a Scanning Tunnelling Microscope (STM). The learning environment for middle childhood (as for all others) should be both stimulating and encouraging . The classroom should accommodate the needs of all its students. It is the responsibility of the teacher to be cognizant of their various beliefs and customs. The Australian classroom is becoming increasingly multicultural (Witsel , 2003). • 43. The Battle At Iwo Jima, But Instead, Looking At First... A. Plan of Investigation The purpose of this investigation is to go beyond the perceived thoughts and facts about Iwo Jima, but instead, looking at first person accounts and eyewitnesses. Iwo Jima is known as Thirty Six Days of Hell which takes place from the 19th of February in 1945 to the 26th of March, 1945. During these thirty six days the goal of this battle was to obtain the island because of the location and how they would be able to utilize it for a landing strip for damaged aircrafts and replenishment. The scope of the investigation will be understanding what life was like for the soldiers on both sides throughout the battle. The method of this investigation will be using interviews, secondary sources with eyewitness accounts, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When they first arrived, they knew that the Japanese tended to wait for the first wave to pass through before starting the full blown attack. Clarence Rae described the island, They bombed Iwo for thirty days before we ever got there. Bombed. Shelled. Everything you could think of to soften it up. . . At 6:30 in the morning all the transports were in place and by 6:40 the war had broken out. Slowly but surely the American soldiers made progress and secured some of the airfields because by the beginning of March, two thirds of the island was captured by American soldiers because they had a strong Marine base and were able to push the Japanese back. After five days the Americans were able to take over Mt. Suribachi which was such a relief for the soldiers because the five prior days was just the beginning of the thirty six day war. Iwo Jima veteran, Hershel Woodrow Williams remembers, The flag going up on Mount Suribachi, on Japanese territory, was something that we as marines really needed. It was a short lived victory because after the taking over of Mt. Suribachi the bloody battle resumed with thousands killed and bodies mutilated for thirty one days later. Another veteran, Norman Baker, remembered vividly, After a while, I wasn t in shocked anymore and that s the worst thing for me. You became like animals or a machine. The mindset of the Marines at that point in time was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Examples Of Spondee In The Odyssey existence and, in many ways, sets the pattern for the genre, neatly fitting the definition of a primary epic (that is, one that grows out of oral tradition). In The Odyssey, Homer employs most of the literary and poetic devices associated with epics: catalogs, digressions, long speeches, journeys or quests, various trials or tests of the hero, similes, metaphors, and divine intervention. Homer composed The Odyssey in a meter known as dactylic hexameter, which gives the epic its elevated style. Each line has six metrical feet. The first five feet may be made up of either dactyls and/or spondees. A dactyl is a metrical foot consisting of a long sound followed by two short sounds (BEEEEAT beat beat). A spondee has two long sounds (BEEEEAT BEEEEAT). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Educational Psychology Class Analysis In the first week of the second semester starts on my long road of potentially becoming a teacher. My Educational Psychology class had me thinking and analyzing the issues in the world specifically education. I have always known that there are issues in the world of education but I didn t know some of the issues are close to home such as our community of De Pere. The issues, conversations we talked about included the high rates of poverty in children, America s drum major instinct, and the opportunity gap. All these issues pose a significant issue in our educational system and lives of children. Before I get into the detail of what I have learned over the course of three class periods I would like to address how blessed and thankful I am. While I always try to tell myself that it can always be worse or that there are many other individuals who are struggling to live. I do not always follow that lesson. However, by watching videos, in addition with the readings and our class lectures helped me remind myself of the daily struggles people live by. I will admit I m not the individual who lives in a gated community and has their own car but I have never had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The opportunity gap is a difference in scores based off two groups. The two groups can be designated between ethnicity, gender, and economic status. In the state of Wisconsin, standardized tests and the graduation rate is used to measure the opportunity gap. For example, in third grade reading African American students scored 26.6 percent lower than Caucasian students in proficient reading. While I m not exactly a fan of the concept of measuring students learning by standardized tests the gaps do stay consistent with graduation rates. In the 2012 2013 high school Graduation Class measured in four years that African American students had a 27.6 percent lower than Caucasian Students. Before the class lecture, I didn t know how big our opportunity gap ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
