What Is Teenage Curfew Persuasive Essay
Many young teenagers enjoy living life on the edge; they often think or see themselves as fully grown
adults, capable of making their own decisions, and having the freedom that comes with it. But more
often than not, teenagers are not fully able to grasp the sense of maturity and consequence in every
day life, much less out in the real world. In order to keep them safe and away from harm, a curfew is a
perfect wall for teens to stay behind. Everyone remembers that, at least once as a child, they have
dreamt of having the freedom, will, and maturity that their parent or guardian possesses. Even today,
children often pretend to be a business man or president; someone that they hope to be when they get
older. True, teenagers are closer to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Teenagers are often seen as reckless and immature, rather than having the calm and collected
composure that an adult is seen with. This immaturity can sometimes be so high, they simply refuse to
take the fall for the decisions they made; some fail to realize that, in real life, everyone must take the
good with the bad, not solely claim the benefits. This fragile flaw can very much prove fatal, so a
curfew can very much save young citizens from themselves. Many television shows and movies are
known to give a young character an episode or scene about him or her, and it often runs down the
same road; the child or teen does something reckless or idiotic, they try extremely hard to fix it (but it
often makes things worse), and when they fail, they must face the consequences. A well known
example is from the hit Cartoon Network show The Amazing world or Gumball, where the main
character Gumball causes trouble with little or no intention. In one specific episode, Gumball
accidentally damages a rented DVD, and when he tries to fix it, he ends up breaking it. This may seem
like a silly show, but there is one big comparison between his actions and real life: In every episode,
such as the DVD episode, he is forced to face the

Investigating The Combined Heat Transfer
I. Abstract:
The main objectives of this experiment are to determine the combined heat transfer (Qr + Qc) from a
horizontal cylinder in natural convection over a wide range of power inputs and surface temperature.
Also to compare between convection and radiation heat transfer and between Hc and Hr. Moreover, to
determine the effect of forced convection and to show the relation between air velocity and surface
temperature for forced convection. And demonstrate that the local heat transfer coefficient varies
around the circumference of a horizontal cylinder when subjected to forced convection.
In Exp # 1, the voltage was continuously changing until the heater temperature (T10) reach the steady
state condition and at this time, T10 was recorded to get Qr and Qc. In Exp # 2, the voltage was kept
constant while the air velocity was changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition
to determine Qf and Qr. In Exp # 3, the angular position and air velocity were changing continuously
and T10 was recorded at the state condition. The error percentage in Experiment #1 between Qc
experimental and Qc theoretical ranges is between 0.95% and 10.7% while the error in Qr
experimental and Qr theoretical ranges from 7.9% to 21.5%. Finally, the error percentage in
Experiment #2 between Qtot theoretical and Qtot experimental ranges from 5.6% to 6.22%, while the
error in Qt theoretical and Qin ranges from 50.5% to 80.5%.

Factors of the Jewish Dispersion
The destination of the Jewish dispersion varied especially based on the occupations of the Jews. The
actual Diaspora really took place when thousands of Hebrew elites and craftsmen were deported and
dispersed to Babylon. This occurred to concentrate the various skills of the Jewish in separate arenas
and to use these individually skilled communities for the benefit of the Babylonians. For example, as
previously mentioned the most skilled and elite Jews were dispersed to Babylon the heart of the
Babylonian empire. Thus, the better trained and more adept a Jew was, the more opportunity the Jew
had to serve for empire in higher ranks solely to meet the needs of the empire and its rulers. This
helped the empires exiling the Jews to prosper, but unfortunately created rifts and gaps within the
Hebrew community. This pattern of dispersion, which was developed by the Babylonians and used by
the Romans to scatter the Jews, allowed for these dominant empires to prosper, however, limited the
interaction within the Hebrew community and resulted in the diminishing originality and novelty of
the skilled Jews. Despite the use of the uniform dispersion pattern based on the occupations of the
Jews, the reason why Jews were exiled and dispersed varied depending on the imposing empire of the
time, which performed these actions. The Hebrew Diaspora was caused by different factors depending
on the group exiling the Hebrews. In other words, the reason for dispersing the Hebrews depended on

Analysis Of The White Porch By Cathy Song
The poem The White Porch by Cathy Song is an illustration of maturity and coming of age. There is
an innocent tone to the beginning of the poem with sensual undertones as the writing progress s. In the
poem, a woman is reminiscing about her young womanhood as she sits on her porch awaiting her
presumed lover. Song creates the character of the woman to be of a homemaker, describing her duties
taking care of laundry, having a cake in the oven and snapping beans in her lap. Through the
visualization that Song creates it is assumed that the woman is pregnant, and as she is waiting for her
husband she thinks back to the things she herself used to do when she was younger with her own
mother. She is reflecting on the way her mother raised her thinking about how she wants to raise her
own child. The speaker admits to sneaking in her lover late at night behind her mother s back, but does
not seem to feel remorseful because all her decisions led to where she is in her life now. Cathy Songs
poem The White Porch portrays the transition of a girl into a woman using symbolism, imagery and
simile.
The use of symbolism is one of the main literary elements used in this poem. The speaker s long hair
is used as a representation of sexuality. Women are often viewed to be more desirable with longer hair.
Long hair it is also used to validate femininity and in earlier years also represented social status.
Throughout history, hair has been worn in a variety of ways often determined by the

Examples Of Use And Gratification Theory
USES AND GRATIFICATION THEORY
Uses and gratification theory is a theories that concentrate on what people do with the media and what
media does for the people. Uses and gratification theory is different from others theories that it
suppose that because individuals have the right to use the media, not passive consumers who position
themselves as media. Uses and gratification theory to explore how individuals purposely look for
media to meet specific needs, such as entertainment, relaxation or socialization or goal. Several
researchers have classified the type of uses and gratifications into a fourfold category system such as
cognition, diversion, social utility, affiliation, withdrawal, and expression.
COGNITION
Cognition means a process of learning. Individuals will uses a cognitive way to obtain information
about something by using a mass medium. People watch news to get what had happening in our world
or look for some news idea from a magazine or books. However, research has noticed that there are
two different types of cognitive functions are being performed. The one hand is using the ... Show

Animal Experimentation And The Human Understanding Of...
Any knowledge obtained, or currently being obtained, through the use of animals is beneficial to
furthering the human understanding of medicine (Greek et al. 15). Throughout history, animal
experimentation has been a key component in understanding the fundamentals of human life. Kay
Peggs argues that virtually every major medical advance of the last century is due, in part, to research
with animals (624). Before recent times, scientists could easily dissect animals strictly for exploration
and curiosity (Greek et al. 15). The knowledge gained from animal experimentation has helped
scientists get desired results without causing direct harm to humans. Without animal experimentation,
medicine and education would be in the dark ages.
In today s times, using animals for medical research and education is a highly controversial issue.
Some believe that it is not justifiable to use animals to serve as human models. They argue that
humans are the best models for human disease and treatment efficacy, not animals. However, humans
cannot be test subjects for the benefit of society without volunteering to participate and fully
understanding the question being researched. This is for all human beings, including prisoners, the
mentally impaired, and unwanted children (Rollin 5). Also, according to the USDA, the first
requirement for a new medical drug or vaccine to be considered for a clinical trial is that nonhuman
animal subjects were used during the development and testing

Proximal Humerus Fracture
EVOLUTION OF TREATMENT With advent of advanced medical care, the life span of humans has
considerably increased. This in turn has increased the populations of the aged people. With the
increased life span and need to be independent patients are now demanding for a better functional
outcome following a fracture fixation. Management of proximal humerus fractures in the elderly has
always posed a challenge to the orthopaedicians in their daily practice. The earliest documentation
regarding proximal humerus fractures was by the Egyptians dating back to 1600 BC. The Edwin
Smith Papyrus (copied circa 1600 BC) in columns XII and XIII has documented about three cases of
proximal humerus treated by bandaging and splinting technique [Figure 1]. 1 Later in 415 BC,
Hippocrates approach to fractures of humerus was noted in De Fracturis and also the Hippocratic
Corpus (circa 440 340 BC). In Hippocratic mode of reduction for fractures of humerus (De Fracturis,
VIII) the patient is made to sit on a high stool with a hanging rod in the armpit. Then the elbow is
flexed with a scarf with heavy weights under the forearm extending the upper arm. The fracture is then

Celsus stated that ...there is least danger when the middle of the bone is fractured. The nearer the
fracture is to either the upper or the lower end the worse it is; for they are at once more painful and
more difficult to treat (De Medicina, VIII, 10). According to Celsus the bandages should be longer in
proximal humerus fracture than if the shaft or distal part is broken. He also recommended making the
turns of the bandage numerous rather than tight. His method differed from Hippocrates in using six
bandages instead of three and he applied larger pieces of linen and soaked it with wine and oil instead
of cerate.

Gender Differences In Nonverbal Communication
Gender Differences in Nonverbal Communication Nonverbal communication includes visual cues
known as body language that arise during human interactions. These cues include proximity, body
positions, posture, touch, gestures, facial expressions, and eye contact, and can be as important in
communication as the words actually spoken. Within the category of nonverbal communication, many
variances exist between males and females. Matthew Hertenstein, a psychology professor at DePauw
University, and Dacher Keltner found in a study of U.S. undergraduates that a number of explanations
have been proposed to explain these gender differences, some of which emphasize power and status
some of which emphasize the social roles of the genders (Hertenstein and Keltner 72). Since many
differences exist between males and females in how they display nonverbal communication, it is
important to study these distinctions to eliminate confusion and misunderstanding between genders.
Men and women tend to physically approach conversations and interactions differently. Typically,
women prefer to be approached from the front, rather than from the side or behind, and researchers
believe this is based on protection since one can see the person coming (Reiman). Men, on the other
hand, prefer to be approached from the side or at an angle, because it is less aggressive. While women
stand face to face, men tend to sit side by side, because for men, a face to face position indicates

Auditing and Assurance
Chapter 1 Assurance and Auditing an Overview
The Framework for Assurance Engagements * The framework defines an assurance engagement as an
engagement in which an assurance practitioner expresses a conclusion designed to enhance the degree
of confidence of the intended users other than the responsible party about the outcome of the
evaluation or measurement of a subject matter against criteria * The following five elements of
assurance engagement are identified 1. Three party relationships between the practitioner (auditor),
responsible party, intended user 2. Subject matter financial position and performance, non financial

vel, and this is associated with a positively expressed assurance opinion * The objective of a limited
assurance engagement is a reduction in assurance engagement risk to a level that is acceptable in the
circumstances and this is associated with a negatively expressed assurance opinion, such as that
nothing has come to the auditor s attention to persuade them that the information has been materially
misstated * A significant difference between a related services engagement and an assurance
engagement is that the auditor does not have the discretion to undertake evidence collection
procedures outside those that have been agreed upon * The auditor therefore only issues a report of
factual findings to the parties that have agreed to the procedures being performed, in which no
conclusion is communicated and which therefore expresses no assurance * An assertion based
assurance engagement requires the auditor to issue an opinion on written assertions made y others * A
direct reporting assurance engagement requires the auditor to provide assurance on the accountability
matter on which the responsible party has not made a written assertion
Auditing Defined * ASA 200.11 provides the objectives of the auditor in undertaking an audit of a
financial report * The definition developed by the American Accounting Association is a systematic
process of objectively obtaining and evaluating evidence regarding assertions about economic actions
and events

Media Influences On American Culture
Media Influenced in American Culture Back in the 1920s people had receive news and entertainment
through the radio, which then in turn out shined newspapers and magazines. Now day s social media
sites have become the most popular form to get the news and information. The biggest tool in the
media that generates revenue by the millions every day, is advertising. The media has its way of
showing us constructive information when it comes to news channels, travel and other educational
shows. Kids benefit from watching these, since it can boost self esteem, heighten interest levels in a
particular subject, or encourage them to ask relevant questions. We have a sense of what is happening
around us, with a fair insight about how things work elsewhere on the globe. We can view the world
through the television, even if we are rooted in one spot the whole time. It is a getaway to places
unknown, foreign, and magical with knowledge of what goes on around us without being physically
present in that place. The media in all its forms can introduce us to creative outlets that can help us
better ourselves in different ways, be it in our personal or work lives. It can change our perspectives
and push us to do more than what we limit ourselves to. It can also help us engage with other people
around the world, and be more open and understanding towards other cultures. The ability to create

The Economic Inequality Of Australia
Australia, although being a multicultural country where everyone is equal, there is a severe presence
of economic inequality. With millions of people living poverty, Australia s wealthy continue to
accumulate wealth, whereas the poor continue to become poorer. With the economic inequality in
Australia rising, the Australian government is contributing to this by creating new policies within the
budget, making those who are disadvantaged already worse off. Rather than creating policies that
make the wealthy even wealthier, the government should be reducing the burden on those who
actually have substantial burdens already. The government is aware that there are ways in which they
can reduce the economic inequality in Australia, however with ... Show more content on

This means that those who are already well off, are getting advances that make them wealthier and
those who are struggling are only getting small advances that determine whether they can put food on
the table and provide for their families. An example of a struggling Australian dealing with the
economic inequality posed against him is Duncan Storrar. Storrar appeared on a popular political show
on the ABC, Q A and posed a question to the panel. I have a disability and limited education. I ve been
a low income earner my whole life and as such I pay a larger percentage of my income in taxes than
the average Australian. Lifting my tax free threshold would change mine and my children s life. How
come rich people get a lift in their threshold? It means nothing to them but to me it would mean my
kids hear something else apart from sorry girls, daddy is broke (Storrar, 2016). Duncan is just one
example of how he economic inequality in Australia affects its citizens.
The government of Australia highly impacts the economic inequality in Australia with doing things
such as bringing in polices and aiming the budget at certain demographics. After the highly anticipated
budget release of 2016, the government told Australians of the major budget measures that were going
to affect them. This included a raise of the tax bracket for middle income earners, redefining it as
$87,000 rather than the current $80,000. Currently, the bracket is for those who earn $37,001 $80,000.

Criminal Justice System And The Law System
INTRODUCTION Developing information suggests that a criminal justice system gains practical
value by generating societal views of fair enforcement and judgement. Particularly, views of practical
fairness resulting in views of the system s legality, may promote systemic compliance with applicable
law, support with legal institutions and actors, and respect to even negative outcomes. A separate
information alludes that a criminal justice system derives realistic value by allocating criminal legal
responsibility and punishment according to principles that trail general instincts of justice.
Distinctively, views of applicable justice resulting in views of the system s ethical credibility would
seem to promote compliance, support, and respect. By contrast, a criminal justice system alleged to be
procedurally unfair or basically unjust may incite resistance and agitation, and may lose its capacity to
control powerful social and normative influence. Trust in the Law by T.R. Tyler and Y. J. Huo pursues
to explain why people eagerly comply with legal authorities. One method by which compliance might
be achieved is through the threat of sanctions that would be associated with noncompliance. This
avoidance approach, the authors indicate, is less optimal than having people consent without
persuasion. Their central notion is that such willingness to comply critically depends upon a strong
sense that legal authorities are legitimate. This sense of legitimacy,

Of Vincent Lamouroux s Essay Notes On Site Specificity
The stark white remains of the Sunset Pacific Motel upsets the urban environment surrounding the
strip of Sunset Boulevard in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. French artist Vincent
Lamouroux coats an abandoned motel, the billboard that rests above it, the wire fence encompassing
it, and the palm trees surrounding it with a temporary layer of opaque lime wash. He names the piece
Projection. The motel now stands like a ghost, gleaming in white with its community s history

Haring s ACT UP, which later circulated as mass produced posters, reflects upon and urges for
awareness on the AIDS crisis. Kwon claims that with the incorporation of the street into the
framework of art, there is a greater concern for integrating art more directly into the realm of the
social, either in order to redress (in an activist sense) urgent social problems such as the ecological
crisis, homelessness, AIDS...or more generally in order to relativize art as one among many forms of

artistic identity, both Projection and ACT UP use the street as a site of protest and interrupt the urban
landscape through their choice of contrasting color palettes, creating a confrontation between the
viewer and the problems of the present. Over the last decade, Silver Lake has become one of the many
neighborhoods of Los Angeles subjected to gentrification. Today, the neighborhood is filled with

What Do The Myths Show About The Idea Of Order Vs. Chaos...
Topic 1: What do the myths show about the idea of order vs. chaos and/or good vs. evil and what does
that say/show about each culture?
Persian and Hinduism myths paints both these ancient cultures as having an opposing negative
supremacy that is eventually defeated with time, patience, and worship. George Santayana is a
mastermind who scripted a website document named Ancient Myth, Religion, and Philosophy .
Santayana describes Zoroastrianism as a view of time and reality in a battle that will eventually lead to
a victory of one opposing force over the other. Santayana also describes Hinduism as being
worshipped by either a female goddess or a male goddess. Zoroastrianism s supreme God Ahura
Mazda has been in an ever lasting battle with a bad spirit known as Angra Mainyu. The idea of a
messiah is portrayed as Mainyu s kryptonite because it will [eventually] lead the forces of good
against evil at the end of time . Hinduism views men as chief gods and every chief god plays a
significant role in the creation of the universe. The chief Gods develop characteristics of being patient
and consistent in creating the world because they were in a continuous battle with the evil female
gods. Each culture was resilient in facing all odds to worship and live their true destiny.
Topic 9: Compare and contrast the views of death and afterlife in the myths. What do these views
show us about the cultures?

This is a very extravagant book. Agenda 21 is a fiction but it does not mean it will stay

Arthurian Legend
Arthurian Legend, group of tales in several languages that concern the legendary King Arthur of the
Britons, his realm, and the knights of his inner circle. The legend is one of the most enduring tales in
recorded history. It first appeared in the 5th or 6th century ad and took its basic form between the 12th
and 15th centuries. It continues as a popular subject in modern times.
The legend presents Arthur as a leader in ancient times who defeats the Saxons and other enemies. He
thereby unites the people of Britain in peace and harmony. Eventually his kingdom weakens from
within in part because of the illicit love between Arthur s queen, Guinevere, and the knight Lancelot
and Arthur himself is struck down by his own illegitimate son, ... Show more content on

As Arthur fathers an illegitimate son, so too does Lancelot, although he does so while under a spell
that makes him think the woman (named Elaine) is actually Guinevere. Lancelot s son, Galahad, is
entirely free of sin and weakness, and thus he alone is ultimately qualified to complete the quest and
find the Holy Grail. (Sir Bors and Sir Percival accompany him, but they are excluded from the final
holy vision that appears to Galahad as he reaches the Grail.)
Once the quest is ended, peace does not last, and eventually Arthur s armies are embroiled in new
wars, including one with the Romans, who demand tribute from Arthur and provoke a battle. Not all
the conflicts involve foreign enemies, however. When Arthur discovers Lancelot and Guinevere s love
affair, his system of justice requires that Guinevere be arrested and condemned to death. Lancelot flees
but then returns to rescue her. During the ensuing battle, Lancelot kills the brothers of Sir Gawain,
who remain loyal to Arthur. As a consequence, Gawain and Lancelot, formerly the closest of friends,
become enemies.
Arthur s absence from court while battling the Romans and pursuing Lancelot offers Mordred the
opportunity to seize the throne. He attempts to do so by buying the allegiance of Arthur s barons, and
some texts say that he either

Comparing the Messages of Animal Dreams and The Bean...
Political and Social Messages of Animal Dreams and The Bean Trees
Perhaps The Poisonwood Bible is Barbara Kingsolver s best work. It was while reading this book
(which centers around The Congo and what the western world has done to this country) that I began to
make the connection that all of Kingsolver s books contain a political and social message. She uses
her stance as an author to illuminate her readers to situations and issues that she feels are important.
Kingsolver s voice can be heard in Animal Dreams when the main character, Codi talks about what
happened to her sister, Hallie in Nicaragua, and how unaware Americans were to what was happening
in that country. It made the news in Tucson, at least for a day. You ... Show more content on

I wanted to see how much Kingsolver has twisted real life for her stories sakes. While the stories and
characters are all spun from Kingsolver s imagination, the political issues she raises are realistic
enough to make one wonder if she hasn t taken them straight from news headlines. Because of this, I
would like to look into the reality of these issues outside of Kingsolver s novels and compare them to
how she presents them fictionally.
The second topic I chose to pursue was whether Barbara Kingsolver approaches her writing with an
agenda and if so, if that is a good or bad thing. Critics and reviewers alike have characterized Barbara
Kingsolver as a political writer and this label is not one that she denies, in fact it seems a badge that
she wears rather proudly. In an interview with Donna Perry for her book, Backtalk; Women Writer s
Speak Out, Kingsolver gives her reasons why most writers avoid this label:
It surprises me constantly that almost everybody else in the United States of
America who writes books hates to be called a political writer. As if that demeans
them...in the United States art and politics got this divorce in the fifties and there s
never been a reconciliation. Artists working in the United States remain, by and
large afraid of being labeled political, even though they re no longer afraid that
they ll lose their jobs or lose their readership. They re afraid that they ll lose there

The Marxist Theory Is The Political And Economic Theories...
The Marxist theory is the political and economic theories originated by German theorists: Karl Marx
and Friedrich Engels. Marx was born in Germany in 1818 and studied philosophy and law. He was
among many the most important authors of sociology and was best known as the father of Marxism
(McIntyre, 21). Along with Friedrich Engels, he wrote and published The Communist Manifesto. This
document helped shape the revolutions that reconstructed much of the world with over the course of
the next century. According to Marx the most important thing about society is the way a society is
organized to produce goods and services, also known as mode of production. The relationships among
people and people s relationships to the forces of production are how decisions were made about what
to do with the outcomes. The Marxist theory recognizes several typical modes of production and
characteristics of different periods in our past history (McIntyre, pg28) These modes of production
includes: Primitive communism which had no categorized social class structures or capital growth,
Asiatic mode which is allegedly the original form of society where small groups removes social
additions through violence directed at settled or unsettled band groups within a domain. Ancient mode
is when property is the control of the individual, the forces of production connected with this mode is
the widespread use of animals in agriculture, and advanced trade networks. Feudalism the property is

America Needs Prayer in Public Schools Essay
Not so long ago, a typical school day would begin with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. Today, a
simple prayer is considered offensive and unconstitutional. A prayer is meant to be a conversation
with God; a personal connection to a sovereign being of choice. I personally believe that prayer is
beneficial. Prayer calms my mind and gives me the chance to thank God for all of his blessings.
Granted, not everyone believes in the same God that I do. I believe most people would probably agree
that there is some form of higher power that everyone has to answer to. One of the things that I love
about being an American, are the freedoms that I have. I am free to worship the God I choose and to
pray at anytime or any place that I choose. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Little did they know their complaint against the school system would shock the country and set into
motion a new way of looking at what was a time honored tradition. After several failed attempts
through the various court systems in the state of New York, the case ended up going before the highest
court in the country, the United States Supreme Court. On June 25, 1962, the United States Supreme
Court voted 6 to 1 in favor of banning the Regents Prayer. The Justices considered the prayer a direct
contradiction to the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment which prohibits the government
from sponsoring or favoring any religion...prayer is a purely religious activity that should be left to the
people, not the government (Haas 48). The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof... (Irons 11). I believe that many people who read the First Amendment and the Establishment
Clause take it out of context. I agree that the government should not be allowed to establish one
religion, but I do not agree with the government interjecting and infringing upon my rights or my
children s rights to pray when and where they choose. Just look at the last part of the Establishment
Clause prohibiting the free exercise thereof... If my child chooses to pray at the

The Point Of Euthyphro
What is the point of the Euthyphro?
Euthyphro [ca. 399 395 BCE], by Plato, is a written dialogue about the events which occurred before
the trial of Socrates , where Socrates was charged with two crimes impiety against the pantheon of
Athens and corruption of the youth. Socrates was accused of failing to acknowledge the gods that the
city acknowledges and introducing new deities . The consequence for such a crime was death.
Euthyphro was in the court to present manslaughter charges against his father to the court. Socrates
begins his debate with Euthyphro by asking Euthyphro does he have a clear understanding of what is
pious and impious. He asks this because he is face with the crime of impiety; Socrates hopes to learn
from Euthyphro so he has a better understanding of his charge and can better defend himself in trial.

Minimising Quality Gaps in Service Management
Identify and discuss the significance and relevance of minimizing Quality Gaps in developing a
positive Service Culture and meeting and exceeding Customer expectations of Good service.
Many customers, independent of industry, have expectations of the service they want to receive. The
rank of their expectations depends on earlier encounters and experience. Providing good service to
your customers is essential to a successful business future. Companies within different industries,

Overstaffing and understaffing is an example of a quality gap from the resources department. A good
example would be a restaurant, on a busy Friday evening with too little waiters. The waiters would be
very stressed and have limited time to actually spend enough time with their customers and thoroughly
understand and provide excellent service to them. On the other hand, overstaffing, having too much
staff in a clothes shop might get annoying to customers if the personnel keep coming up to ask if they
need any help. Therefore a perfect balance of staff must be planned in the roster according to different
factors, such as different weekdays, special occasions and public holidays. The last type of quality gap
comes from the staff themselves, based on their performance. In order to provide excellent customer
service, the staff must make customers feel welcome and important . Bad attitude, rudeness or even
bad grooming might give customers a poor image about your business, and therefore create potential
for less demand in the future. Staff training and product knowledge is another area which should be
covered carefully in order to avoid probable quality gaps, or even dangerous situations. A waiter
should know the basics of their meals, in case of customer allergies or intolerance which may result

popping in my head like if the whole book will be about dinosaur skin color, why did the author
choose to start her story this way. This is why i choose to write an essay about it. But I found the first
sentence of the story unique, Something you won t see in other books.
The first sentence was, If the truth was a crayon and it was up to me to put a wrapper around it and
name its color, I know just what I would call it dinosaur skin. It didn t really make sense to me in the
beginning. It made me feel like the book was about dinosaur skin color or something i wonder why the
Author add that part and on the first chapter. The title of this chapter was Heidi, maybe the Author
thought that heidi the main character of the book liked dinosaurs, so she should include it in the story.
I looked at one of the leads that the Author might of started the story with and the beginning with but

Effect Of Mozart Effect On Pop Culture
Introduction
Music is everywhere. It has been a fundamental factor in the evolution of culture since the beginning
of time. Both the invention of the gramophone and the radio and the attempt to market these to the
masses in the late 1800 s and early 1900 s, the culture of music has been assimilated more and more
into life. Now the earth as a culture has become intertwined with each other through the development
of the Internet and the establishment of it in everyday life. Due to this development, music has only
become more accessible and portable to the public. A person can just pull out their phone and listen to
music whenever and wherever that person wants.

the effect is short lived and temporary, while others point to flaws in experimental designs as a
fundamental factor. (Thompson, 2015) It is critical to evaluate this claim in order to understand if

disadvantages of listening to music while working; and a general probe into the integrity of the Mozart

listening to music before testing, rather than during. I believe that classical music under the right
circumstances may help with concentration, and may play a temporary role in intelligence boosting as

Napoleon Bonaparte The Ruthless Conqueror
Napoleon Bonaparte: The Ruthless Conqueror
Napoleon Bonaparte was one of the most successful and controversial military leaders of all time.
Leading France from the years 1799 to 1815, he would establish the French empire, a superpower that
was very similar to that of the Romans. In only sixteen years, Bonaparte came close to conquering all
of Europe, but paid a steep price for his triumph. During his reign, Napoleon Bonaparte An exhibit for

his reign, Bonaparte s main goal was to conquer all of Europe. In order to do so, he recognized that he
needed to defeat France s main threat, Great Britain. In order to weaken them, Bonaparte created the
Continental system. The Continental system was a set of blockades that was designed to cut the
British off from trade with the rest of Europe... (but,) by 1812, it was clear that the Continental system
was not working. (Source E) Underestimating the power of Great Britain s superior navy, Bonaparte
did not realize that the British would able to make their own blockades around France. Napoleon
Bonaparte would blame Russia for his failure, and invade the vast country. This would be the biggest
failure of his career. In an attempt to defeat his new enemy, Bonaparte would march 600,000 thousand
troops into Russia. Even as the weather conditions worsened, Bonaparte decided to always push
further into Russia, trying to conquer Moscow before winter, (Source E) which he knew would cost
him more lives. Eventually losing about 500,000 of these men, he return to France with the remains of
an army. This means that Bonaparte did not consider what the cost of these wars could be. This is
significant, as this is a decision that no enlightened monarch would make. Instead of actually thinking

Professionals in the United States Army stand apart from others engaged in particular careers in the

Compassion is an essential element of good government. Courtesy and kindness, both to those we

Caring for others is the counterbalance against the temptation to pursue the mission at any cost.
Respect. To treat people with dignity, to honor privacy, and to allow self determination are critical in a

The Dangers Of Nuclear Bombs
Nuclear Bombs
What would happen if the most powerful countries in the world started a nuclear war? In society,
many people will agree that nuclear bombs are a threat to humankind and the all life on Earth. To this
day, several countries still have nuclear bombs and weapons. This can affect the world because
countries with nuclear weapons have even threatened to use these against other countries, which could
start a third, more deadly, world war.
The last World War (WW2) was the only war that actually used nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons
are categorized into two major types of bombs. The first is called an atomic bomb and it can kill
thousands of people, but the hydrogen bomb is even worse and can kill ten times the number of living
things. When a nuclear bomb explodes, it either releases uranium or plutonium atoms, smoke, dust,
and soot. As this happens, the bombs pollute the ground, food, water and air. When the chemicals get
into large and small bodies of water, it can destroy the ecosystem and hurt people who eat food grown
or raised in the area. Even when there is wind, it is still dangerous. The wind can carry the chemicals
which travel for miles and can be destructive to habitats. Nuclear bombs can kill living things almost
instantly, but if the people near the explosion don t die, they usually suffer from radiation, very severe
burns, flying glass and deadly debris. When the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima,

Aeneas And Augustine Compare And Contrast
Foundations of Western Culture Essay 2
A journey is the act of traveling from one place to another and in the case of Aeneas and Augustine, it
was taken to accomplish a goal. Aeneas and Augustine both take distinctive journeys in the works
written by Virgil and Augustine. Virgil opens The Aeneid with stating his subject of warfare and a man
at war, in which he illustrates the sense of war. Aeneas has a destiny and takes a journey to find a new
home for his people, as a leader would. In contrast, Augustine, in Confessions takes a journey to find
his final resting place with God. Though both of these trips are exceptionally different, there are a
number of similarities between the two. The physical journey of Aeneas and Augustine were similar in
the sense that they both had the same goal in mind of uncovering something along the way. Both of
these characters take individual journeys and face their own troubles along the way, but in the end,
Aeneas and Augustine accomplish the destiny that was brought upon them at different times in their
lives.
Both journey s taken by Aeneas and Augustine were similar in many ways. Aeneas is looking for a
new place for Troy after it is destroyed. It is Aeneas destiny to find a new home for his people, and his
prophecy in The Aeneid is that Rome will be great in the end. Him and all of his people need a new
place to belong. Similarly, Augustine is taking a journey to become a Christian and he struggles

Brief Description Of Public Policy
Part A: Brief description of public policy
Policy refers to a distinct path of action that is suitable for the pursuit of desired goals within a
particular context, directing the decision making or behavior of an organization or individual. There
are three key elements of policies: problem definition, goals to be achieved, and policy instruments to
address the problem and achieve the goal. The policy process is an activity of balancing different
solutions that address aspects of complex problems: the policymaking is typically described as messy
(CITE). Important components of the policy process include identification of a policy problem along
with framing the problem for solutions (also known as policy formulation), implementation of policy
strategies, and establishing outcomes for evaluation of policy effectiveness.
Policies come from those who have legitimate authority to impose normative guidelines for action
(i.e., elected officials). Formulation of health related policies is complex and depends on a variety of
scientific, economic, social, and political forces. As a result, there is a considerable gap between what
public health research shows is effective and the policies that are enacted and enforced (Brownson,
Chriqui, Stamatakis, 2009).
Non elected officials (i.e., practitioners) are generally required to implement the policy through
programs (i.e., interventions). There are many barriers to effective policy implementation. For
example, insufficient

Marketing Is A Complex Network Of Processes
The average person may not realize that marketing is a complex network of processes; not just product

advertising side of things in the world of goods and services. A large amount of people might not

Marketing is the process that covers product distribution and concepts ranging all the way from
realization of consumer needs to satisfaction of the need with a finished product or service (Kerin et

Edward Luttwak s Analysis On Military Force, Military...
Edward Luttwak s analysis of Roman strategy evaluates the link between military force, military
power, policy, and deterrence. Luttwak describes force as the actual application of a state s military
capability while power is derived from the state s perceived ability to impose force. The Romans
employed a combination of force and power to achieve their policy aims regarding security.
Deterrence provides security by relying on power and the threat of force to prevent an adversary from
committing an unwanted act. Today, United States policy leverages the nation s perceived power,
bolstered by its potential to employ force, in order to deter aggression by potential adversaries and
enhance security. To begin, it is important to explore Luttwak s definitions of force and power. He
describes the use of military force as a finite ability to directly apply military means in order to force
an adversary s compliance. A state s ability to use force is thus limited by the size of its military
capability and its ability to concentrate that capability against an enemy. More importantly, once
military forces are committed to an action they are no longer available to pursue other objectives and
are essentially consumed. The implication is that reliance on military force limits a state s ability to
achieve its objectives to the amount of force it can employ at a given time and place. Examples of the
finite nature of military force are numerous. Luttwak points to

not the dancers were actually moving. On the other hand, Cascade of Moons had 6 dancers instead of
only two. This gave another element to the piece because I would watch one dancer, then another, and
by the time I went back to the first dancer, she was in a completely different position. Although they
were moving extremely slowly, because each dancer was doing something different, it felt as thought
there was always something new to look at. There were more moments of rapid movements in this
piece as well, which was very contrasting to the slower movement. However, while Helen Tide had
very minimal fast movements, Cascade of Moons had much more fast paced moments. The amount of
contrast each choreographer decided to have in their piece helped convey the different stories that they
are trying to

  • 2. What Is Teenage Curfew Persuasive Essay Many young teenagers enjoy living life on the edge; they often think or see themselves as fully grown adults, capable of making their own decisions, and having the freedom that comes with it. But more often than not, teenagers are not fully able to grasp the sense of maturity and consequence in every day life, much less out in the real world. In order to keep them safe and away from harm, a curfew is a perfect wall for teens to stay behind. Everyone remembers that, at least once as a child, they have dreamt of having the freedom, will, and maturity that their parent or guardian possesses. Even today, children often pretend to be a business man or president; someone that they hope to be when they get older. True, teenagers are closer to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Teenagers are often seen as reckless and immature, rather than having the calm and collected composure that an adult is seen with. This immaturity can sometimes be so high, they simply refuse to take the fall for the decisions they made; some fail to realize that, in real life, everyone must take the good with the bad, not solely claim the benefits. This fragile flaw can very much prove fatal, so a curfew can very much save young citizens from themselves. Many television shows and movies are known to give a young character an episode or scene about him or her, and it often runs down the same road; the child or teen does something reckless or idiotic, they try extremely hard to fix it (but it often makes things worse), and when they fail, they must face the consequences. A well known example is from the hit Cartoon Network show The Amazing world or Gumball, where the main character Gumball causes trouble with little or no intention. In one specific episode, Gumball accidentally damages a rented DVD, and when he tries to fix it, he ends up breaking it. This may seem like a silly show, but there is one big comparison between his actions and real life: In every episode, such as the DVD episode, he is forced to face the ... • 3. Investigating The Combined Heat Transfer I. Abstract: The main objectives of this experiment are to determine the combined heat transfer (Qr + Qc) from a horizontal cylinder in natural convection over a wide range of power inputs and surface temperature. Also to compare between convection and radiation heat transfer and between Hc and Hr. Moreover, to determine the effect of forced convection and to show the relation between air velocity and surface temperature for forced convection. And demonstrate that the local heat transfer coefficient varies around the circumference of a horizontal cylinder when subjected to forced convection. In Exp # 1, the voltage was continuously changing until the heater temperature (T10) reach the steady state condition and at this time, T10 was recorded to get Qr and Qc. In Exp # 2, the voltage was kept constant while the air velocity was changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition to determine Qf and Qr. In Exp # 3, the angular position and air velocity were changing continuously and T10 was recorded at the state condition. The error percentage in Experiment #1 between Qc experimental and Qc theoretical ranges is between 0.95% and 10.7% while the error in Qr experimental and Qr theoretical ranges from 7.9% to 21.5%. Finally, the error percentage in Experiment #2 between Qtot theoretical and Qtot experimental ranges from 5.6% to 6.22%, while the error in Qt theoretical and Qin ranges from 50.5% to 80.5%. II. Introduction: Heat transfer is the process whereby ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Factors of the Jewish Dispersion The destination of the Jewish dispersion varied especially based on the occupations of the Jews. The actual Diaspora really took place when thousands of Hebrew elites and craftsmen were deported and dispersed to Babylon. This occurred to concentrate the various skills of the Jewish in separate arenas and to use these individually skilled communities for the benefit of the Babylonians. For example, as previously mentioned the most skilled and elite Jews were dispersed to Babylon the heart of the Babylonian empire. Thus, the better trained and more adept a Jew was, the more opportunity the Jew had to serve for empire in higher ranks solely to meet the needs of the empire and its rulers. This helped the empires exiling the Jews to prosper, but unfortunately created rifts and gaps within the Hebrew community. This pattern of dispersion, which was developed by the Babylonians and used by the Romans to scatter the Jews, allowed for these dominant empires to prosper, however, limited the interaction within the Hebrew community and resulted in the diminishing originality and novelty of the skilled Jews. Despite the use of the uniform dispersion pattern based on the occupations of the Jews, the reason why Jews were exiled and dispersed varied depending on the imposing empire of the time, which performed these actions. The Hebrew Diaspora was caused by different factors depending on the group exiling the Hebrews. In other words, the reason for dispersing the Hebrews depended on the ... • 5. Analysis Of The White Porch By Cathy Song The poem The White Porch by Cathy Song is an illustration of maturity and coming of age. There is an innocent tone to the beginning of the poem with sensual undertones as the writing progress s. In the poem, a woman is reminiscing about her young womanhood as she sits on her porch awaiting her presumed lover. Song creates the character of the woman to be of a homemaker, describing her duties taking care of laundry, having a cake in the oven and snapping beans in her lap. Through the visualization that Song creates it is assumed that the woman is pregnant, and as she is waiting for her husband she thinks back to the things she herself used to do when she was younger with her own mother. She is reflecting on the way her mother raised her thinking about how she wants to raise her own child. The speaker admits to sneaking in her lover late at night behind her mother s back, but does not seem to feel remorseful because all her decisions led to where she is in her life now. Cathy Songs poem The White Porch portrays the transition of a girl into a woman using symbolism, imagery and simile. The use of symbolism is one of the main literary elements used in this poem. The speaker s long hair is used as a representation of sexuality. Women are often viewed to be more desirable with longer hair. Long hair it is also used to validate femininity and in earlier years also represented social status. Throughout history, hair has been worn in a variety of ways often determined by the ... • 7. Animal Experimentation And The Human Understanding Of... Any knowledge obtained, or currently being obtained, through the use of animals is beneficial to furthering the human understanding of medicine (Greek et al. 15). Throughout history, animal experimentation has been a key component in understanding the fundamentals of human life. Kay Peggs argues that virtually every major medical advance of the last century is due, in part, to research with animals (624). Before recent times, scientists could easily dissect animals strictly for exploration and curiosity (Greek et al. 15). The knowledge gained from animal experimentation has helped scientists get desired results without causing direct harm to humans. Without animal experimentation, medicine and education would be in the dark ages. In today s times, using animals for medical research and education is a highly controversial issue. Some believe that it is not justifiable to use animals to serve as human models. They argue that humans are the best models for human disease and treatment efficacy, not animals. However, humans cannot be test subjects for the benefit of society without volunteering to participate and fully understanding the question being researched. This is for all human beings, including prisoners, the mentally impaired, and unwanted children (Rollin 5). Also, according to the USDA, the first requirement for a new medical drug or vaccine to be considered for a clinical trial is that nonhuman animal subjects were used during the development and testing ... With the increased life span and need to be independent patients are now demanding for a better functional outcome following a fracture fixation. Management of proximal humerus fractures in the elderly has always posed a challenge to the orthopaedicians in their daily practice. The Edwin Smith Papyrus (copied circa 1600 BC) in columns XII and XIII has documented about three cases of proximal humerus treated by bandaging and splinting technique [Figure 1]. 1 Later in 415 BC, Hippocrates approach to fractures of humerus was noted in De Fracturis and also the Hippocratic Corpus (circa 440 340 BC). In Hippocratic mode of reduction for fractures of humerus (De Fracturis, VIII) the patient is made to sit on a high stool with a hanging rod in the armpit. • 10. Gender Differences In Nonverbal Communication Gender Differences in Nonverbal Communication Nonverbal communication includes visual cues known as body language that arise during human interactions. These cues include proximity, body positions, posture, touch, gestures, facial expressions, and eye contact, and can be as important in communication as the words actually spoken. Within the category of nonverbal communication, many variances exist between males and females. Matthew Hertenstein, a psychology professor at DePauw University, and Dacher Keltner found in a study of U.S. undergraduates that a number of explanations have been proposed to explain these gender differences, some of which emphasize power and status some of which emphasize the social roles of the genders (Hertenstein and Keltner 72). Since many differences exist between males and females in how they display nonverbal communication, it is important to study these distinctions to eliminate confusion and misunderstanding between genders. Men and women tend to physically approach conversations and interactions differently. Typically, women prefer to be approached from the front, rather than from the side or behind, and researchers believe this is based on protection since one can see the person coming (Reiman). Men, on the other hand, prefer to be approached from the side or at an angle, because it is less aggressive. While women stand face to face, men tend to sit side by side, because for men, a face to face position indicates challenge or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With millions of people living poverty, Australia s wealthy continue to accumulate wealth, whereas the poor continue to become poorer. With the economic inequality in Australia rising, the Australian government is contributing to this by creating new policies within the budget, making those who are disadvantaged already worse off. An example of a struggling Australian dealing with the economic inequality posed against him is Duncan Storrar. Storrar appeared on a popular political show on the ABC, Q A and posed a question to the panel. I have a disability and limited education. I ve been a low income earner my whole life and as such I pay a larger percentage of my income in taxes than the average Australian. Lifting my tax free threshold would change mine and my children s life. How come rich people get a lift in their threshold? After the highly anticipated budget release of 2016, the government told Australians of the major budget measures that were going to affect them. • 16. Criminal Justice System And The Law System INTRODUCTION Developing information suggests that a criminal justice system gains practical value by generating societal views of fair enforcement and judgement. Particularly, views of practical fairness resulting in views of the system s legality, may promote systemic compliance with applicable law, support with legal institutions and actors, and respect to even negative outcomes. A separate information alludes that a criminal justice system derives realistic value by allocating criminal legal responsibility and punishment according to principles that trail general instincts of justice. Distinctively, views of applicable justice resulting in views of the system s ethical credibility would seem to promote compliance, support, and respect. By contrast, a criminal justice system alleged to be procedurally unfair or basically unjust may incite resistance and agitation, and may lose its capacity to control powerful social and normative influence. Trust in the Law by T.R. Tyler and Y. J. Huo pursues to explain why people eagerly comply with legal authorities. One method by which compliance might be achieved is through the threat of sanctions that would be associated with noncompliance. This avoidance approach, the authors indicate, is less optimal than having people consent without persuasion. Their central notion is that such willingness to comply critically depends upon a strong sense that legal authorities are legitimate. This sense of legitimacy, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. So B By Sarah Weeks The weird start This story has a weird beginning. I thought that the first chapter of So B. by Sarah Weeks it was going to be an introduction and all. But it was talking about dinosaur skin color. Then all these thing started popping in my head like if the whole book will be about dinosaur skin color, why did the author choose to start her story this way. This is why i choose to write an essay about it. But I found the first sentence of the story unique, Something you won t see in other books. The first sentence was, If the truth was a crayon and it was up to me to put a wrapper around it and name its color, I know just what I would call it dinosaur skin. It didn t really make sense to me in the beginning. It made me feel like the book was about dinosaur skin color or something i wonder why the Author add that part and on the first chapter. The title of this chapter was Heidi, maybe the Author thought that heidi the main character of the book liked dinosaurs, so she should include it in the story. I looked at one of the leads that the Author might of started the story with and the beginning with but it didn t fit into any of them the first chapter was not all that interesting. But i wonder ... Now the earth as a culture has become intertwined with each other through the development of the Internet and the establishment of it in everyday life. Many have found that the effect is short lived and temporary, while others point to flaws in experimental designs as a fundamental factor. (Thompson, 2015) It is critical to evaluate this claim in order to understand if there actually are intellectual benefits of music. As it stands right now, if this theory is correct, the integration of classical music into education and work may boost proficiency of both students and workers. This paper will cover several topics: The advantages of listening to music while working; the disadvantages of listening to music while working; and a general probe into the integrity of the Mozart Effect. This paper must be split up into these sections as the Mozart Effect focuses specifically on listening to music before testing, rather than during. I believe that classical music under the right circumstances may help with concentration, and may play a temporary role in intelligence boosting as described in the Mozart ... Leading France from the years 1799 to 1815, he would establish the French empire, a superpower that was very similar to that of the Romans. In only sixteen years, Bonaparte came close to conquering all of Europe, but paid a steep price for his triumph. During his reign, Napoleon Bonaparte An exhibit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art should portray Napoleon Bonaparte as a ruthless conqueror, not an enlightened despot, as he enforced legalist like policies, brought on the Napoleonic wars, and was driven solely by his desire for power. The Continental system was a set of blockades that was designed to cut the British off from trade with the rest of Europe... (but,) by 1812, it was clear that the Continental system was not working. (Source E) Underestimating the power of Great Britain s superior navy, Bonaparte did not realize that the British would able to make their own blockades around France. Napoleon Bonaparte would blame Russia for his failure, and invade the vast country. This would be the biggest failure of his career. In an attempt to defeat his new enemy, Bonaparte would march 600,000 thousand troops into Russia. Even as the weather conditions worsened, Bonaparte decided to always push further into Russia, trying to conquer Moscow before winter, (Source E) which he knew would cost him more lives. Eventually losing about 500,000 of these men, he return to France with the remains of an army. This means that Bonaparte did not consider what the cost of these wars could be. In society, many people will agree that nuclear bombs are a threat to humankind and the all life on Earth. To this day, several countries still have nuclear bombs and weapons. This can affect the world because countries with nuclear weapons have even threatened to use these against other countries, which could start a third, more deadly, world war. The last World War (WW2) was the only war that actually used nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are categorized into two major types of bombs. The first is called an atomic bomb and it can kill thousands of people, but the hydrogen bomb is even worse and can kill ten times the number of living things. When a nuclear bomb explodes, it either releases uranium or plutonium atoms, smoke, dust, and soot. As this happens, the bombs pollute the ground, food, water and air. When the chemicals get into large and small bodies of water, it can destroy the ecosystem and hurt people who eat food grown or raised in the area. Even when there is wind, it is still dangerous. The wind can carry the chemicals which travel for miles and can be destructive to habitats. Aeneas And Augustine Compare And Contrast Foundations of Western Culture Essay 2 A journey is the act of traveling from one place to another and in the case of Aeneas and Augustine, it was taken to accomplish a goal. Aeneas and Augustine both take distinctive journeys in the works written by Virgil and Augustine. Virgil opens The Aeneid with stating his subject of warfare and a man at war, in which he illustrates the sense of war. Aeneas has a destiny and takes a journey to find a new home for his people, as a leader would. In contrast, Augustine, in Confessions takes a journey to find his final resting place with God. Though both of these trips are exceptionally different, there are a number of similarities between the two. The physical journey of Aeneas and Augustine were similar in the sense that they both had the same goal in mind of uncovering something along the way. • 37. Brief Description Of Public Policy Part A: Brief description of public policy Policy refers to a distinct path of action that is suitable for the pursuit of desired goals within a particular context, directing the decision making or behavior of an organization or individual. There are three key elements of policies: problem definition, goals to be achieved, and policy instruments to address the problem and achieve the goal. The policy process is an activity of balancing different solutions that address aspects of complex problems: the policymaking is typically described as messy (CITE). Important components of the policy process include identification of a policy problem along with framing the problem for solutions (also known as policy formulation), implementation of policy strategies, and establishing outcomes for evaluation of policy effectiveness. Policies come from those who have legitimate authority to impose normative guidelines for action (i.e., elected officials). Formulation of health related policies is complex and depends on a variety of scientific, economic, social, and political forces. As a result, there is a considerable gap between what public health research shows is effective and the policies that are enacted and enforced (Brownson, Chriqui, Stamatakis, 2009). Non elected officials (i.e., practitioners) are generally required to implement the policy through programs (i.e., interventions). There are many barriers to effective policy implementation. For example, insufficient ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A large amount of people might not understand that marketing is a much more diverse set of steps, not just billboards and commercials. Marketing is the process that covers product distribution and concepts ranging all the way from realization of consumer needs to satisfaction of the need with a finished product or service (Kerin et al, 2011). • 40. Edward Luttwak s Analysis On Military Force, Military... Edward Luttwak s analysis of Roman strategy evaluates the link between military force, military power, policy, and deterrence. Luttwak describes force as the actual application of a state s military capability while power is derived from the state s perceived ability to impose force. The Romans employed a combination of force and power to achieve their policy aims regarding security. Deterrence provides security by relying on power and the threat of force to prevent an adversary from committing an unwanted act. Today, United States policy leverages the nation s perceived power, bolstered by its potential to employ force, in order to deter aggression by potential adversaries and enhance security. To begin, it is important to explore Luttwak s definitions of force and power. He describes the use of military force as a finite ability to directly apply military means in order to force an adversary s compliance. A state s ability to use force is thus limited by the size of its military capability and its ability to concentrate that capability against an enemy. More importantly, once military forces are committed to an action they are no longer available to pursue other objectives and are essentially consumed. The implication is that reliance on military force limits a state s ability to achieve its objectives to the amount of force it can employ at a given time and place. Examples of the finite nature of military force are numerous. Luttwak points to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of their movement was so slow that it was hard to tell whether or not the dancers were actually moving. On the other hand, Cascade of Moons had 6 dancers instead of only two. This gave another element to the piece because I would watch one dancer, then another, and by the time I went back to the first dancer, she was in a completely different position. Although they were moving extremely slowly, because each dancer was doing something different, it felt as thought there was always something new to look at.
