The New Imperialism In The 16th Century
Imperialism
Imperialism is the total domination of the political, economical, or cultural aspects or a nation.
Imperial colonization has been occurring sense the beginning of time. An imperialistic nation would
increase its importance and power by winning an empire. Some takeovers were forced by political
rivalries. One nation might seize a territory to prevent a competitor from expanding into that region.
Some nations would expand to boost their economic value, or personal wealth. Imperialism advances
a countries politics, society, and economic value into a powerful money making country.
Imperialism could be defined as a policy of a country of gaining new territories and establishing
nation s dominance of political, economic, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many people who weren t pleased with their economic and political status could migrate to new
regions to find other opportunities. Others were inspired to spread the word of Christianity and sought
a new standard of living. But most importantly, Europeans were concerned with the quest for material
goods and to grow rich (textbook pg. 878).
The new imperialism :
Imperialism has developed two very different meanings in history and in time. The imperialism of the
16th century was much less rapid and dominating than that of the new imperialism of the 19th
century. Imperialism in a sense means the extension of one nation s power over other lands.
Imperialism in the 16th century was just the colonization of North and South America and the set up
of a few trading posts in Africa. In the 19th century however, imperialism grew to mean the total
domination of one area in direct rule of the mother country.
There were two different time periods where Imperialism occurred. The first wave of imperialism,
called the Old Imperialism, lasted from around 1500 1800. The New Imperialism lasted from around
1870 1914. The three main differences that we will discuss today are the differences in economics,
politics, and the motive behind all of

Motivational Theories Of SAS And Grenada Co-Op Bank
Both SAS and Grenada Co operative Bank use a combination of motivational theories to motivate
their staff. SAS applies principles from both Maslow s Hierarchy of needs and Hertzberg s theory.
SAS like Co op Bank provides a combination of monetary and monetary rewards. Employees of SAS
view supporting services such as daycare and gym facilities as kind gestures that keep them close to
their families. Linder Clover, Director of A D of SAS remarked that she can take her daughter to lunch
every day without having to encounter the inconvenience of leaving her job (Why SAS is the best
place to work, 2010). The daycare is located on the premises of the company which allows parents the
opportunity to bring their children to work and visit them during the day. Management and employees
at SAS both agree that they are motivated to work. Employees at SAS openly admitted that they
would not leave their job even if another company offers them a better paying one. This could be
because the salary received plus the additional benefits that the company offers (daycare, gym,
cafeteria recognition, among others) far ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, employees of both firms receive adequate training to carry out their jobs which the
managers attribute to motivation. The manager of Co op Bank further conferred that employees are
rewarded for their outstanding performances through a Performance Management System (PMS) to

A Brief Note On The Industrial Heritage Of Coal Industry
Hewison claimed that as an industry dies, the heritage solution is gradually applied. Depending on the
developing process of coal industry, it seems that it is too early to talk about the development of
industrial heritage of coal in China. However, in fact, industrial heritage of coal has already become
an infant industry in this country. For example, Haizhou Colliery in Liaoning province is the biggest
open pit coalmine in Asia. It was explored in 1897, and in 1953, this colliery was used again after
Second World War and Civil War. It was the first modern, mechanized and electrified open pit in
China. Nevertheless, by the year of 2005, coal resource exhaustion caused the close of the colliery and
this big open pit was abandoned. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are external and internal motivations for industrial transformation from coal industry to
industrial heritage of coal in China below. The external reasons decide the necessity of industrial
transformation of coal industry. And the internal motivations emphasize the value of industrial
heritage of coal.
In terms of external factors, coal resource depletion and environment contamination are the main
reasons for industrial transformation. Specifically, coal, oil and natural gas are non renewable
resources in the world. Even if China is abundant in coal resource, due to much exploiting of coal, it
has declined sharply. The production of coal resource cannot meet the demand for coal in the
development of industrialization. Until now, China has become the world s largest coal importer. By
the year of 2012, China imported 289 million tonnes. Oppositely, Japan, as the second largest coal
importer, had 184 million tonnes imported coal. In the UK, the number of imported coal was 45
million tonnes in the same year.
China Coal Market Development Blue Book 2010 maintained the reasons that could affect coal import
and export. Market requirement, coal price, ocean freight of coal and national policy about export and
import all impact the export and import of coal resource. On one hand, it is certain that coal resource
is still an important energy for economic and industrial development. On the other hand, the data
shows that domestic coal

What I Learned From My Writing
Since the beginning of English 1100, I have created trends in my writing. My approach to writing,
point of view, and writing styles are similar in all of my papers. I have taken the skills I learned from
my previous experiences of writing and improved them in this class. My liberal ideas that have been
embedded in my writing since high school are shown and reflected in multiple projects that I ve
completed. Many of my grammatical errors began to stick out and I have since learned how to correct
them. English 1100 has helped me to correct grammatical errors that I had never noticed before and
has ultimately allowed me to discover why I write a particular way. I have improved my writing habits
through this class and have been able to enhance my skills to the best of my ability.
A common trend among my papers has been my sentence structure. For the most part, my sentences
would be short and very straight forward. A common mistake that I see among many of my peers is
writing consciously, a problem I do not have. I like that I can get right to the point which allowed me
to be more direct in stating my facts and less worried about filling my paper with fluff. By the end of
the semester, I learned to make my sentences more balanced which would allow me to have more flow
throughout my paper. As the semester went on I started to pay closer attention to the length and the
content of each sentence and how each correlated with each other. I took a skill I had coming into the
class and

Internship Analysis Paper
Analysis Key Issue My internship term at EPRA has gone by with minimal issues. I have genuinely
enjoyed working with all of my colleagues and the position itself has been interesting. I would say that
the largest issue facing EPRA as a whole would be the distrust on environmental initiatives that was
previously discussed. There has, however, been a prevailing issue with my job specifically. As
mentioned, the auditing department at EPRA is relatively new. Due to this, very few employees have
had to be trained as a compliance analyst in the past. To be specific, only six people (including the
four that are currently on the team) have had to learn the position. Included in the six are two
employees who were hired to help start the auditing department ... Show more content on

I learnt most about Excel in Business Information Systems (BIS), Quantitative Methods (QM), and

had learnt in these courses such as basic shortcuts and formulas. Through my schooling I felt as
though I had a basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications. There are also many things that I
learned on the job such as the VLOOKUP function and pivot tables, which I feel as though have taken

Eve s Apology In Defense Of Women By Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum
In Eve s Apology in Defense of Women, an excerpt from Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum, Aemilia Lanyer
uses biblical illusions such as the story of Eve eating the forbidden fruit, as well as satirical diction to
convey a message of unjust attitudes toward the female gender. These attitudes express an imbalanced
judgement of women in religious settings, a notion that would continue to be used not only when
alluding to religion, but also in other everyday life events. Lanyer, however, uses this satirical
language to argue that Eve is only to blame as much as the male characters in the story, Adam and
Satan. Since being written in 1611, Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum has interested readers of all kinds due
to its incredible use of feminist diction in several different poems and paragraphs, all of which are
written by a young female author, Aemilia Lanyer. According to Subjectivity and Women s Poetry in
Early Modern England by Lynette McGrath, Lanyer was trying to sway aristocratic dedicatees into a
benevolent membership in a women s community by poetically invoking the attractive and idealized
discourses of maternity, religion and women s nurturing love for each other (page 211). In Eve s
Apology in Defense of Women the reader can recognize this heavy use of religious context to
persuade her audience to grasp this idea of building a women s community via the unjust treatment
reserved in the very first book of Genesis. The first line of the poem, which reads Now Pontius Pilate

My Experience With A Learning Disability
Sitting in class, I could not help but look around and notice that everyone else knew what they were
doing while I just sat there silently, pretending to fit in. I had no clue what I was supposed to be doing
because I did not really understand the lesson the teacher had just finished teaching. I didn t want to
ask a question because it seemed like I was the only one that was lost, so instead, I just sat at my desk
with my head down and pretended to write on my paper. I have repeated this scenario on numerous
occasions. In 5th grade, I was diagnosed with a learning disability which affected the way I learned
and my ability to understand what others around me said. My mom noticed that I was working really
hard to accomplish the same work that other kids my age did with less effort and in a shorter amount
of time. We saw a psychologist who sent me to a specialist who diagnosed me with a learning
disability in central auditory processing, and also had a very weak short term memory. Basically, this
means that my brain processes information slower than the average. Although my hearing is normal, it
takes my brain longer to comprehend what I hear and then process it. Sometimes I miss parts of what
people say because my brain is not able to understand everything that is being said all at once so I
need directions written down or given slowly in order to truly comprehend.
Although I struggled academically, I was not able to qualify for school services at the time according

Summary Of The Man I Killed
Kiowa was against it, he felt like it was wrong and since he was religious he felt like setting up camp
and base of operations in a church was bad news. Dobbins however wasn t all that religious, he
believed in god but it was just being nice to people that mattered to him. Kiowa grew up loving
churches and carrying The Bible around but Dobbins hated churches.
2. What is the meaning of the washing motion of the younger monk? Is it the same when Dobbins
does it? I think the washing motion is just a show of courtesy or kindness, maybe even hello, goodbye,
or thank you. When Dobbins did the washing motion, I believe it was an act of respect just like when
the monks did it.
3. The image of the monk cleaning an M 60 is incongruous and jarring. What purpose does it serve in
the story? The purpose is to contrast culture in the U.S to the culture in Vietnam. When people picture
monks they picture peace, prayer, and silence not cleaning guns or having anything to do with
violence. I think it s a case of situational irony because monks wouldn t be cleaning M 60 s. Chapter

The Different Factors of Individual Language Learners in Second Language Acquisition
Recently, Second Language Acquisition (SLA) play important role to language learning and teaching
as second language that SLA refers both to the study of individuals and groups who are learning a
language subsequent to learning their first one as young children, and to the process of learning that
language that the additional language is called a second language (L2), even though it may actually be
the third, fourth, or tenth to be acquired. It is also commonly called a target language (TL), which
refers to any language that is the aim or goal of learning (Saville Troike, 2006). According to Gass and

Intelligence also has some connection with school performance that there are links between
intelligence and aptitude in classroom, as might be expected (Cook, 2008 cited Genesee, 1976) On the
other hand, intelligence may play a less important role in language learning that focuses more on
communication and interaction (Cummins, 1980). Hence, it is important to keep in mind that
intelligence is complex and that a person has many kinds of abilities and strengths (Brown, 2000;
Johnson, 2008). For the second cognitive variables is aptitude that refers to the ability to learn quickly
(Carroll, 1991) and is thought to predict success in learning or the natural ability to learn a language
that is thought to be a combination of various abilities, such as the ability to identify sound patterns in
a new language, the ability to recognise the different grammatical functions of words in sentences,
Rote Learning ability, and the ability to infer language rules (Richards et.al., 1995; Cook, 2008). In
term of Language aptitude refers to the potential that a person has for learning languages. This
potential is often evaluated using formal aptitude tests (Modern Language Aptitude Test (MLAT),
which predict the degree of success the candidate will have with a new language. Aptitude tests vary
but many include evaluation of ability to manage sounds, grammatical

The American Dream For A Long Time Essay
House, a shelter for people, which is one of a basic requirement for human survival in today s world.
According to Andriotis (2014) and Shlay (2006), homeownership is regarded as an aspect of the
American dream for a long time (p.1) (p.527). The American dream, a pursuit that a large number of
US citizens seek, require individuals work hard to achieve it. In other words, owing a property has
long been a gateway to the American dream. Individuals have possession of the house if they have
enough money to afford the payment on a home and be willing to purchase it. Otherwise, people need
to rent a house to guarantee that they have a relatively fixed shelter. However, there are the limited
rights for the tenants, and thus they have to depend on the decision of owners, whereas the landlords
have the power to make a decision on the property since they have the housing ownership. Hence,
whether to buy or rent have become a fundamental problem that plagues the individuals. Elsinga and
Hoekstra (2005) point that the homeownership not only in favor of personal, but also benefit the
community (p.403). Therefore, buying a house is over than renting since it brings tremendous benefits
to individuals. Specifically, purchasing a property is a desirable option that generates tax benefit, build
self confidence for owners, and profits the construction of the community harmony rather than renting
a house. While it is true that owning a house generates numbers of undeniable benefits,

How Is Math Used In Lacrosse
The Types of Math Used in Lacrosse
Most people would assume that soccer is the fastest game played with two feet, but actually it is
lacrosse. Math is used in the game of lacrosse in many ways, as an example the angle you shoot at
determines where the ball goes. Also, an example of math being used would be the different shapes in
the game. Like for example, the field you play on is a rectangle with different shapes and lines to
determine the foul lines, shooting lines, and the half field. Another subject of math being involved in
lacrosse is the area inside the net. This is how much space there is in the net, where the ball could go.
In lacrosse, angles are mostly used in shooting. An angle is the space within two to three lines or more

The math involved is the area inside the netting. The area is the extent or the measurement of a surface
or piece of land. The area of the boys and men s net is different because of the size of the net. The
official men s lacrosse net s size is 6 H x 6 W x 7 D. The area of the net is 69.6 square feet, to find this
out first you need to multiply the depth of 7 ft. and the height of 6 ft. which will bring you to 42 ft.
After you have done that you take the two numbers of the net, which would be 6 and 7, and you times
them by themselves. This would lead you with 36 and 49. You then add these numbers to get 85 and
square root this number to get 9.2. Now if you where to times the leftover 6 and the 9.2 you would get
55.2. After that you divide that by two to get 27.6 which would would add to the 42 you got before
and your answer would come out and be 69.6 square feet. The lacrosse field has certain measurements
and lines on it. The field is played on a 110 yd. (100 m.) long and 60 yd. (55 m.) wide field. There are
five lines or areas of the field, one of them is the midfield line, which divides the whole field into two,
so the sides are 50 m. on each side. Another area of the field is the defense and attack area. The lines
are marked 35 yards from the end of the field. Theses markers and areas of the field are very important
to the game because that s how you play the game and where you re supposed to

Fascism And Nazism Similarities
Fascism and Nazism. Both once prominent forms of government during the 20th century, and now the
number of countries that use either one of these governments is diminishing. Fascism and Nazism
both emerged because of a general crisis of the European political system during the late 19th century
to the end of World War 1. Fascism was motivated by the fears of of social as well as political
disintegration, and of political revolution on the part of both ruling of the lower and middle classes
(Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). Europe would later see many Nazi and Fascists movements during
the time period between World War 1 and World War 2; however, in only Italy and Germany did these
forms of government manage to come to power and develop into their respective regimes
(Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). While these two once prominent governments share some
similarities, they also share many differences.
Fascism first exploded onto the political scene during the 1919 as the first mass movement of of the
middle class citizens in both Italy as well as Germany. In this political party, important sections of the
economic and political establishments sought out to attempt to preserve the status quo in the
revolutionary times (Encylopedia.com Editors, 2017). This form of government appealed to many
lower and middle class citizens because it made it seem that they were at control of the political party.
Fascism was popular to the public in general just because it brought out a

Deat Death Research Paper
God s original intent is that dominion be expressed through a relationship with God and others. It is
not surprising that Satan, as part of his agenda to rob God of His glory, would do what he can to
promote division within humanity. This division is seen all across humanity including the church.
Conflict originated in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned. As stated earlier, Adam and
Eve lived in perfect harmony with God and each other. Their relationship had great freedom. God s
only stipulation was that they were not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God said
if you eat of it, ...in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die (Gen. 2:17b). When they sinned
against God by eating the fruit, death became a reality. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

were separated from their relationship to God and paradise (Gen. 3:23 24). They died or were
separated with respect to their covenant privileges and suffered the indictment and judgment of their
Sovereign. Death as separation is also a physical separation between the body and spirit and soul (1
Cor. 15:21 22). Eternal death is an endless separation from the presence of God 1Cor. 6:9 10). Adam

Eiseley compares this to the brown wasp that wishes to die in the center of the hive. The men came
inside the train station to be around other people so that they did not die alone. Sometimes it is the
place that matters the most, the center of the hive for the brown wasp and the bench in the train station
for the old man. We cling to a time and place because without them man is lost, not only man but life.

Later Eiseley tells of a mouse that made a home in one of the flower pots in his living room. This was
no ordinary house mouse, this was a field mouse; the one that he had seen in the field of the site of the
new suburban store. It ran away from the field where the bulldozers were and headed towards Eiseley
s apartment building. The mouse made a burrow in the flower pot and was quick to hide and not be
seen. He tried to dig the burrow deeper but failed. Eiseley then refilled the burrow with the dirt and
did not expect to see the mouse again. To his surprise the burrow reopened but there was no sign of
the field mouse. Not even the temptation of food would draw the mouse out. He thought it would end
up in some trap or someone else s apartment.

Hexaaqua Copper Lab Report
Experimental Objectives:
Copper belongs to group 11 and is also known to be the least reactive of the first row metals. It is the
only d block metal in the first row that has a stable 1+ oxidation state however in comparison to its +2
state, the former is seen as unstable. Cu(0) is rarely stable (2) and hence this is why it is not abundant
in nature, and instead is generally extracted from ores via leaching or roasting methods. It is the +2
oxidation state that seems to dominate the majority of aqueous copper chemistry with the
characteristic blue colour of most copper solutions being an indicator for the presence of the hexaaqua
copper (II) ion (1).The aim of this experiment was to perform reactions to demonstrate the reactivity

Excess nitric acid was still present in the solution and reacted with the strong base of NaOH in order
for the solution to be neutralised. The excess NaOH allowed a double displacement or metathesis
reaction to occur. This was where the copper (II) ions react with the OH ions to produce an absolute
blue precipitate of copper hydroxide which was insoluble. Sodium nitrate however is soluble in water
and thus stayed dissolved in the solution (4). The insoluble blue precipitate observed in the reaction is
supported by this explanation. The fact that the blue litmus paper did not turn red upon addition of the
reaction mixture showed that acid was no longer present within the solution and hence the reaction

A Streetcar Named Desire, By Tennessee Williams
A Streetcar Named Desire, written by Tennessee Williams, was first performed on December 3rd,
1947. Chronicling the actions and events that take place when two sisters are reunited, A Streetcar
Named Desire is regarded as one of Tennessee William s most successful plays. Likewise, Blank
Space , written and performed by Taylor Swift, was first performed November 23rd, during the 2014
American Music Awards. Blank Space spent 22 weeks in the top 40 charts and is featured on the best
selling album 1989. Though A Streetcar Named Desire and Blank Space are two separate works
written and performed 67 years apart, character and character actions in A Streetcar Named Desire are
synonymous with lyrics portrayed in Blank Space because Blank Space lyrics can be used to describe
the relationship between the characters, Blanche and Stanley. Both works describe an unhealthy
relationship between two people, foreshadow an event that leads to insanity, and provide detailed
information that can be applied to both characters.
A Streetcar Named Desire and Blank Space are similar because they both describe an unhealthy
relationship. In the case of A Streetcar Named Desire, this would be the relationship between Blanche
DuBois and Stanley Kowalski. Blanche is Stanley s sister in law, who serves as his antagonist (Bloom,
22). Though the characters are related by marriage and therefore family, they suffer many differences
that lead to their hatred of one another. While Blanche is

Introduction
When one speak of the word diversity, odds are the first thing that comes to mind is either race or
gender, when in fact it is a whole lot more that can be considered and not just race alone. It can be
diverse ideas, diverse training, diverse cultural, diverse academic abilities, and diverse skills. Diversity
Management is the practice of recognizing and supporting multiple lifestyles and personal
characteristics within a group of people. In today s workplace diversity is not a norm but also an
encouraged workplace makeup from employees, shareholders, government, and employers. Diversity

Summary
Some direct opposite results of an ineffective diversity management program is poor top level
management and low and poor organization visibility. (Human Resource Management) Poor
leadership can lead to poor organization morale, low employee retention and commitment, and
ultimately organizational failure.

Adding International Perspectives to Vocational Education...
Adding International Perspectives to Vocational Education
International work opportunities are increasing as the borders of the U.S. economy expand to embrace
international markets. Future workers will need to develop global awareness and an understanding of
competitive, cultural, and economic factors that influence ways of doing business in order to work in
the international arena. This Digest examines the instructional approaches and strategies used in
vocational education to prepare students to work in a global environment.
The Industrial Age expanded the vision of U.S. workers beyond their local communities to the country
s national borders. The current Information Age moves the focus to global boundaries. To meet the ...

How can vocational education, the educational program area that is specifically designed to prepare
students for work, infuse international concepts into vocational education programs so that the youth
of today are prepared for the global workplace? Ostheimer (1995) offers several suggestions:
1. Promote global awareness.
2. Internationalize the curriculum.
3. Adopt instructional practices that incorporate international dimensions.
4. Provide resources that address international/global dimensions of business.
5. Provide faculty development programs in international business.
Global Awareness
With the growth of multinational corporations and increased trade among nations, workers need to
understand global conditions, development, and trends. Such issues as population growth, wealth
distribution, environmental concerns, diseases, and political and social problems as well as cultural
issues such as religious beliefs, customs, and family structure have implications for a country s
business activity and practices. The study of such issues will enhance students abilities to engage in
job related problem solving and decision making in ways that reflect knowledge of and respect for
other cultures (McLaughlin 1996).
Classroom study, even when it includes international content, cannot provide the extent of global
awareness that one

Banana Is A Common Tropical And Subtropical Fruit Eaten By...
1 Introduction
Banana is a common tropical and subtropical fruit eaten by a great number of people worldwide, it is
also regarded as main staple food crop in many developing countries. However, banana has very short
shelf life, is very easy to get decomposed and often affected by many postharvest diseases, which
cause a lot of serious impacts on banana distribution, especially for the exported bananas. Among all
the postharvest diseases of banana, crown rot is the most significant one, the rot pathogen is extremely
complex, it has been reported that there are more than ten genera cause crown rot all over the world.

sporotrichoides. Nevertheless, fungi of one species may have different pathogenic levels, it is reported
that, F. semitectum and F. verticillioides have the biggest pathogenicity (Lassois et al. 2010).
3 Environment Conditions for Disease Development
The occurrence of banana crown rot is usually influenced by different per harvest sectors. The
development of disease is partly related to seasonal factor. Generally, the banana crown rot is more
often occurs during summer (March ~ September), while the rot grows slowly in the cold season
(October to February) (Lassois et al. 2010). Temperature between 25°C to 30°C is appropriate for the
fungi to grow dramatically, and the growth declines sharply when banana was stored in cool
temperature, around 13°C (Finlay and Brown 1993). Besides, geographical variation is also influence
the occurrence of crown rot, it is reported that the banana crown rot development at higher altitude
(500m) is much less than at relative lower altitude (80m) in Cameroon (Ewané et al. 2012). The
duration of time between harvesting and cooling is also of great significance when it comes to the
disease development. The recommended fruit elapsed time should be no longer than 48 hours from
harvesting to storing in refrigerator (Finlay and Brown 1993). In

Software Product Lines and Architecture
IV. SOFTWARE PRODUCT LINES
A software product line (SPL) is a set of software intensive systems that share a common, managed set
of features satisfying the specific needs of a particular market segment or mission and that are
developed from a common set of core assets in a prescribed way.
Software product lines are emerging as a viable and important development paradigm allowing
companies to realize order of magnitude improvements in time to market, cost, productivity, quality,
and other business drivers. Software product line engineering can also enable rapid market entry and
flexible response, and provide a capability for mass customization.
The various product variants can be derived from the basic product family. The purpose is to reduce
the time and cost of production, and to increase software quality by reusing core assets. The general
process of product lines is based on the reusability of requirements, documentation, architecture and
components.

The profession of human service uses an enormous quantify of information to conduct test in the

A high quality test will mainly deal with these issues and provide somewhat minimal difference. In
contrast a changeable test is extremely susceptible to these issues and will provide unstable ending.
Validity
Validity is the degree to which the test measures what it is set out to measure (Reshow amp;
Rosenthal, 2008).The types of validity includes construct, content, convergent or discriminant,
criterion, external, face, internal, and statistical (Rosenthal amp; Rosnow, 2008, p. 125). It is important
to distinguish the validity of the research outcome because it cannot contain any room for error, nor
pending variable without an applicable explanation. Validity is not verified by a statistic; rather by a
uniform of examiner that reflects exemplify knowledge, and relationship among the test, and the
performance it is projected to measure. Therefore, it is important for a test to be applicable in order for
the product to securely, and correctly apply, and translated.
Construct validity is the extent to which suggestion can be made from a broad view standpoint lining
ideas to observations in the research to the hypothesis on which those ideas are based. Content validity
reflect on a personal pattern of measurement because it transmit on people s insight for measuring

Features Of Writing A Review At A Professional Standard
Regardless of the object being reviewed, there are a number of essential features of writing a review at
a professional standard. This essay will examine each of those features with reference to two reviews
of films which explore a specific theme.
Firstly, however, the meaning of the term professional standard must be established. There are
standards that all professions must follow. These are to do with ethics and values. At the very least,
standards of professionalism indicate a level of expertise , separating those who are considered
professional from the amateur. Merely deriving an income from writing a review is not proof that a
professional standard has been met. The NSW Professional Standards Council claims that any
attempts to define standards of professionalism typically centralise around some sort of moral or
ethical foundation within the practice of a specific and usually established expertise .
A standard attributable to being professional can also indicate a level of quality or attainment. An
individual review may be at a reasonably high standard but what makes it professional ?
By way of analogy, there are particular essential ingredients when baking a sponge cake... a pinch of
this and teaspoon of that. We all know, however, that, even though the same recipe has been followed,
there are sponge cakes and there are sponge cakes. Similarly reviewers may follow the same standard
format and ensure their reviews

The Negative Effects Of Bilingualism In Education
In a country such as Canada, having two official languages makes it nearly impossible to avoid the
topic of bilingualism. Anyone who grew up through education system in Ontario likely has strong
opinions about the value of being able to speak both English and French fluently. Those opinions may
be strengthened further once a resident is faced with the challenge of deciding which educational
stream to apply their children to. Immigrant families have it more difficult in that their children are
already learning their native language and English when they arrive, and then they may be required
start learning French as well. Along with these social implications of bilingual learning, there are also
psychological issues that come up. There are helpful effects and some that are not so helpful that result
from trying to learn two languages, this paper serves as a means to display both the benefits and the
drawbacks related to bilingualism and the bilingual learning process.
Learning more than one language at once constantly requires that the learner be incredibly adaptable
and responsive. This means that their executive control system is much more stimulated while
learning than that of their fellow students who participate in a monolingual program. If this is indeed
the case, it could also be that this more active system is strengthened, giving a student in such a
program an advantage over other students (Bialystok, 2008). If implemented properly, many of the

In this paper I want to go in depth to share my understanding and perception of what I believe a griot
is, i am choosing to write about this because 1, I was captivated by the word, its meaning, its influence

these functions and also because I was not satisfied with my digestion of this word when we talked
about it in our section groups due to limited time. Who is a griot? According to the book, Sundiata
griots were the counselors of kings, they conserved the institution of the kingdoms by memory work
alone and they also appear as one of the most important people of the society two things I want to talk
about 1. Gender 2. Position/power. As I read through the pages of Sundiata the information presented

Impact Of Public Policy On Global Energy And Climate Change
Aidan Johnson

The Impact of Public Policy on Global Energy And Climate Change As a political science major with
a focus on international politics, energy and the environment are not just a means to an end but instead
they are the focus of the work itself. Rather than studying business and needing energy to run things
effectively, the study of international relationships is in the business of dealing with these large topics
in energy reduction especially as they relate to reducing carbon emissions. The deeper one dives into
the real core of worldwide energy production the more complicated and hopelessly confusing it may
seem. With thousands of government policies dictating energy production, and hundreds of
governments acting around the world to come to agreements concerning emission and environmental
protection, the concern of global climate change as a result of carbon emissions has been seen by
many as beyond hope. However, despite overwhelming odds, in December 2015 a landmark
agreement was reached by 195 countries to decrease global fossil fuel emissions and attempt to
mitigate the effects of global warming. Just a few months later in April of 2016 it was signed into
effect by all of them, and while it still needs to be ratified in many countries this is a historic step
towards protecting the environment from the harmful effects of global warming. Ahead a brief outline
of our domestic energy policy will be examined, followed by an overview of

Cold Air Mass Lab Report
Introduction
Statement of Purpose:
The purpose of this experiment is to see what occurs when a warm air mass connects with a cold one.
The independent variable is the temperatures of the two sides, and the dependent variable is the time it
takes for them to start reacting. The control group is testing for the lowest amount of minutes (zero)
taken for the creation from the mixture, and the variable groups are the longer durations of time (up to
fifteen minutes).
Background Research: What happens when air masses collide? Air masses are huge quantities of air
containing specific temperatures and humidity. The way that air masses are created, are by air forming
over land or sea, and causing the air to be warm or cold (Reynolds 62). Warm air ... Show more

If warm air collides with cold air, then the front will be calm, while the warm air progresses upwards.
On the other hand, if the colder air meets the warmer air, the colder air will weaken the warmer air,
and force it to form a steep rising front ( What Happens When Air Masses Collide ). If there is a
scenario in which either one of the fronts do not move when in the same area, that is called a
stationary front. A stationary front can be recognized by precipitation and clouds, too (Brugge 94). An
occluded front occurs when a cold air mass finds and merges with another cold air mass under a warm
air mass. Lastly, there is a boundary that separates dry air from moist air. This is called the dryline. It
divides the moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and the desert air ( Air Masses ). A dryline is designed
as a black line with open half circles that are black (Bell 79). When air masses form together, a war
begins. The air masses tries to hustle with the other (Vogt 53). When a front is present, the weather is
unpleasant ( The Science of Air Masses: What Happens When Air Masses Collide ). Air density is
much more beneficial at the surface, however it can decrease with altitude (Desonie 16). Pressure is a
big requirement for this to occur as well. The formula for pressure is: Force over Area, or F/A (
Pressure ). There are two kinds of pressure: high and low. High pressure are also anticyclones. These
are areas that are more vast

It was explored in 1897, and in 1953, this colliery was used again after Second World War and Civil War. It was the first modern, mechanized and electrified open pit in China. Nevertheless, by the year of 2005, coal resource exhaustion caused the close of the colliery and this big open pit was abandoned. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are external and internal motivations for industrial transformation from coal industry to industrial heritage of coal in China below. The external reasons decide the necessity of industrial transformation of coal industry. And the internal motivations emphasize the value of industrial heritage of coal. In terms of external factors, coal resource depletion and environment contamination are the main reasons for industrial transformation. Specifically, coal, oil and natural gas are non renewable resources in the world. Even if China is abundant in coal resource, due to much exploiting of coal, it has declined sharply. The production of coal resource cannot meet the demand for coal in the development of industrialization. Until now, China has become the world s largest coal importer. By the year of 2012, China imported 289 million tonnes. Oppositely, Japan, as the second largest coal importer, had 184 million tonnes imported coal. In the UK, the number of imported coal was 45 million tonnes in the same year. China Coal Market Development Blue Book 2010 maintained the reasons that could affect coal import and export. Market requirement, coal price, ocean freight of coal and national policy about export and import all impact the export and import of coal resource. My approach to writing, point of view, and writing styles are similar in all of my papers. I have taken the skills I learned from my previous experiences of writing and improved them in this class. My liberal ideas that have been embedded in my writing since high school are shown and reflected in multiple projects that I ve completed. Many of my grammatical errors began to stick out and I have since learned how to correct them. English 1100 has helped me to correct grammatical errors that I had never noticed before and has ultimately allowed me to discover why I write a particular way. I have improved my writing habits through this class and have been able to enhance my skills to the best of my ability. A common trend among my papers has been my sentence structure. For the most part, my sentences would be short and very straight forward. A common mistake that I see among many of my peers is writing consciously, a problem I do not have. I like that I can get right to the point which allowed me to be more direct in stating my facts and less worried about filling my paper with fluff. By the end of the semester, I learned to make my sentences more balanced which would allow me to have more flow throughout my paper. As the semester went on I started to pay closer attention to the length and the content of each sentence and how each correlated with each other. I took a skill I had coming into the class and ... I have genuinely enjoyed working with all of my colleagues and the position itself has been interesting. I would say that the largest issue facing EPRA as a whole would be the distrust on environmental initiatives that was previously discussed. There has, however, been a prevailing issue with my job specifically. As mentioned, the auditing department at EPRA is relatively new. Due to this, very few employees have had to be trained as a compliance analyst in the past. Eve s Apology In Defense Of Women By Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum In Eve s Apology in Defense of Women, an excerpt from Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum, Aemilia Lanyer uses biblical illusions such as the story of Eve eating the forbidden fruit, as well as satirical diction to convey a message of unjust attitudes toward the female gender. These attitudes express an imbalanced judgement of women in religious settings, a notion that would continue to be used not only when alluding to religion, but also in other everyday life events. Lanyer, however, uses this satirical language to argue that Eve is only to blame as much as the male characters in the story, Adam and Satan. Since being written in 1611, Salve Deus Rex Juadeorum has interested readers of all kinds due to its incredible use of feminist diction in several different poems and paragraphs, all of which are written by a young female author, Aemilia Lanyer. According to Subjectivity and Women s Poetry in Early Modern England by Lynette McGrath, Lanyer was trying to sway aristocratic dedicatees into a benevolent membership in a women s community by poetically invoking the attractive and idealized discourses of maternity, religion and women s nurturing love for each other (page 211). In Eve s Apology in Defense of Women the reader can recognize this heavy use of religious context to persuade her audience to grasp this idea of building a women s community via the unjust treatment reserved in the very first book of Genesis. I had no clue what I was supposed to be doing because I did not really understand the lesson the teacher had just finished teaching. I didn t want to ask a question because it seemed like I was the only one that was lost, so instead, I just sat at my desk with my head down and pretended to write on my paper. I have repeated this scenario on numerous occasions. In 5th grade, I was diagnosed with a learning disability which affected the way I learned and my ability to understand what others around me said. My mom noticed that I was working really hard to accomplish the same work that other kids my age did with less effort and in a shorter amount of time. We saw a psychologist who sent me to a specialist who diagnosed me with a learning disability in central auditory processing, and also had a very weak short term memory. Basically, this means that my brain processes information slower than the average. Although my hearing is normal, it takes my brain longer to comprehend what I hear and then process it. According to Andriotis (2014) and Shlay (2006), homeownership is regarded as an aspect of the American dream for a long time (p.1) (p.527). The American dream, a pursuit that a large number of US citizens seek, require individuals work hard to achieve it. In other words, owing a property has long been a gateway to the American dream. Individuals have possession of the house if they have enough money to afford the payment on a home and be willing to purchase it. Otherwise, people need to rent a house to guarantee that they have a relatively fixed shelter. However, there are the limited rights for the tenants, and thus they have to depend on the decision of owners, whereas the landlords have the power to make a decision on the property since they have the housing ownership. Hence, whether to buy or rent have become a fundamental problem that plagues the individuals. Elsinga and Hoekstra (2005) point that the homeownership not only in favor of personal, but also benefit the community (p.403). The official men s lacrosse net s size is 6 H x 6 W x 7 D. The area of the net is 69.6 square feet, to find this out first you need to multiply the depth of 7 ft. and the height of 6 ft. which will bring you to 42 ft. After you have done that you take the two numbers of the net, which would be 6 and 7, and you times them by themselves. This would lead you with 36 and 49. You then add these numbers to get 85 and square root this number to get 9.2. Now if you where to times the leftover 6 and the 9.2 you would get 55.2. After that you divide that by two to get 27.6 which would would add to the 42 you got before and your answer would come out and be 69.6 square feet. Both once prominent forms of government during the 20th century, and now the number of countries that use either one of these governments is diminishing. Provide resources that address international/global dimensions of business. 5. Provide faculty development programs in international business. • 34. Features Of Writing A Review At A Professional Standard Regardless of the object being reviewed, there are a number of essential features of writing a review at a professional standard. This essay will examine each of those features with reference to two reviews of films which explore a specific theme. Firstly, however, the meaning of the term professional standard must be established. There are standards that all professions must follow. These are to do with ethics and values. At the very least, standards of professionalism indicate a level of expertise , separating those who are considered professional from the amateur. Merely deriving an income from writing a review is not proof that a professional standard has been met. The NSW Professional Standards Council claims that any attempts to define standards of professionalism typically centralise around some sort of moral or ethical foundation within the practice of a specific and usually established expertise . A standard attributable to being professional can also indicate a level of quality or attainment. An individual review may be at a reasonably high standard but what makes it professional ? Those opinions may be strengthened further once a resident is faced with the challenge of deciding which educational stream to apply their children to. Immigrant families have it more difficult in that their children are already learning their native language and English when they arrive, and then they may be required start learning French as well. Along with these social implications of bilingual learning, there are also psychological issues that come up. There are helpful effects and some that are not so helpful that result from trying to learn two languages, this paper serves as a means to display both the benefits and the drawbacks related to bilingualism and the bilingual learning process. Learning more than one language at once constantly requires that the learner be incredibly adaptable and responsive. This means that their executive control system is much more stimulated while learning than that of their fellow students who participate in a monolingual program. Impact Of Public Policy On Global Energy And Climate Change Aidan Johnson BBE2201 25 April 2016 The Impact of Public Policy on Global Energy And Climate Change As a political science major with a focus on international politics, energy and the environment are not just a means to an end but instead they are the focus of the work itself. Rather than studying business and needing energy to run things effectively, the study of international relationships is in the business of dealing with these large topics in energy reduction especially as they relate to reducing carbon emissions. The deeper one dives into the real core of worldwide energy production the more complicated and hopelessly confusing it may seem. With thousands of government policies dictating energy production, and hundreds of governments acting around the world to come to agreements concerning emission and environmental protection, the concern of global climate change as a result of carbon emissions has been seen by many as beyond hope. However, despite overwhelming odds, in December 2015 a landmark agreement was reached by 195 countries to decrease global fossil fuel emissions and attempt to mitigate the effects of global warming. Just a few months later in April of 2016 it was signed into effect by all of them, and while it still needs to be ratified in many countries this is a historic step towards protecting the environment from the harmful effects of global warming. If warm air collides with cold air, then the front will be calm, while the warm air progresses upwards. On the other hand, if the colder air meets the warmer air, the colder air will weaken the warmer air, and force it to form a steep rising front ( What Happens When Air Masses Collide ). If there is a scenario in which either one of the fronts do not move when in the same area, that is called a stationary front. A stationary front can be recognized by precipitation and clouds, too (Brugge 94). An occluded front occurs when a cold air mass finds and merges with another cold air mass under a warm air mass. Lastly, there is a boundary that separates dry air from moist air. This is called the dryline. It divides the moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and the desert air ( Air Masses ). A dryline is designed as a black line with open half circles that are black (Bell 79). When air masses form together, a war begins. The air masses tries to hustle with the other (Vogt 53). When a front is present, the weather is unpleasant ( The Science of Air Masses: What Happens When Air Masses Collide ). Air density is much more beneficial at the surface, however it can decrease with altitude (Desonie 16). Pressure is a big requirement for this to occur as well. • 41. The Lady With The Dog Essay Colour is in the art and the art is literature. Often, one depicts morality the concept of shades: a color scheme that involves the gradation from lightest to darkest, which in most case, is white to black. In such scale, the shades white and black represent two contrasting extremes as they parallel the idea of morality, where white is right and black is wrong. However, the complication arises at the area between the white and black: the grey. The grey area possesses no absolute verdict, for one can be both morally right and wrong. Russian realist Anton Chekhov implements such perception as he colours the story with white, black, and grey. An exploration of The Lady with The Dog serves to examine his employment of colour in addressing the issue of morality, specifically regarding the characters actions, and in part, the conveyance of his personal views of what is right and wrong.
