Similarities Between Rtk And Tvb
1. Introduction
Uttara (2016) defines mass media as a communication medium which used to interact or communicate
with large amount of citizens of different languages. People receive different messages through
communication devices every day, such as TV, newspapers, and magazines. People received pictorial
massages in the past. Nowadays, those devices become high technology media. One thing that all of
us agree upon, is that media become an inseparable element of our life. Media is an effective tool to
disseminate information, market, advertise, and communicate. It was a double edged sword since there
are both positive and negative influences of the mass media.

My Time As Volunteer At Somerset Dade Academy
During my time as volunteer at Somerset Dade Academy, I was able to work closely with the
elementary and middle school teacher. During each visit, I was able to follow Ms. Lee s daily routine.
In the morning, we had 30 minutes to plan and get her cart ready with supplies she needed for the day.
Also, we would both create various model artworks to inspire her students to create something more
original and imaginative. She wheeled her cart through certain elementary classes depending on her
schedule. Depending on the grade level she was assign to that day, we were able to teach her students
the fundamental concepts of arts and major art movements, all in 30 minutes. Every three weeks, she
would focus on a concept, artist, or art movement. Additionally, she would assign vocabulary words,
which her students would copy and also had access to them online on Quizlet. At the end, she would
administer a summative test on everything they learned for the past three weeks. On the other hand,
Ms. Lee s middle school classes were different, more one on one, and it was a one hour period. Her
students were able to recreate impressionist and expressionist artworks, such as Monet s Water Lilies,
Van Gogh Starry Night and The Bedroom on wall sized canvases. Despite the diversity of art concepts
taught, it can become quite difficult for one teacher to teach 23 elementary classes and 11 middle
school classes. As part of the Miami Dade College community, we can help and stress the

Peak Expiratory Flow Rate
Peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) is a measure of how much a person can breathe out in a single large
breath. PEFR is used as a clinical tool to test the functionality of a patient s lung, the severity of
asthma or other respiratory illness symptoms and the best course of treatment for the patient. The
PEFR reading will be lower when a person s airways are constricted and should be at its highest when
the patient is at full health. The PEFR is measured using a small handheld device known as a peak
flow meter. PEFR is dependent on a person s gender, age, height, weight, smoker status as well as
other factors. The relationship between PEFR and height is a commonly accepted and studied positive
linear relationship. Dharamshi et al (2015) studied the relationship between height, waist to hip ratio
and weight in regards to recorded PEFR values in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They found that height was the most strongly correlated factor to do with an increase in the PEFR
value recorded. They also suggest that other factors such as regional and environmental factors may
also effect the PEFR values obtained and further studies should be done in that area. This study
strongly indicates a statistically significant positive linear relationship between height and PEFR
values. As a result of these findings it was clear there was some kind of relationship between height
and PEFR. To test this, data was taken from a class of biology students. PEFR values before and after
exercise, their smoker status, age, gender, height, weight as well as other relevant information were
recorded and narrowed down to a particular group of people to compare their PEFR values and height
to determine whether there was in fact a positive linear relationship between height and PEFR. Using
the information from previous studies a hypothesis was

History Of Delta Guitar
Blues guitar originated around the 19th century in the deep south of the United States. In the Deep
South, a large black population existed and many of them succumbed to slavery and racial
oppressions. In these hard times, music became a common language between them. The blacks that
were being culturally oppressed expressed their emotions by playing Blues music. One of the earliest
forms of blues was being formed in the Mississippi delta which is known as Delta Blues. It reflected
the oppressive nature of life the blacks had. It displayed short repetitive phrases and was more
percussive than melodic. The delta blues encompasses bottleneck guitar style as it utilizes tons of
sliding techniques. The slides techniques were adopted by later ... Show more content on

A prominent figure in this era will be known as Eric Clapton. He displayed incredible technical
precision in his solos and chords progression. During his time in CREAM, he trademarked a song
composed by Robert Johnson called Crossroads .Clapton did not use open tunning or sliding
techniques but instead his electric guitar featured a heavy style of instrumental backing and soloing,
jumping from a major to a minor in his solo and playing it in the offbeat. Clapton s improvisation was
one of the best freestyles blues that existed due to its originality. Clapton incorporated blues with rock
forming a hybrid type of music. He developed the rock guitar sound making use of the Gibson Les
Paul guitar amplified through a Marshall. Clapton experimented with its sustain feedbacks and vibrato
creating a psychedelic effect by playing his solo with different harmonies by tuning down the treble in
a single called I Feel Free . Clapton also introduced many technological innovations on electric guitar
as he played with the foot pedals and fuzz box. As a result, Clapton changed how blues was being
perceived as elements of rock blended with Chicago and Texas blues creating an era of electric

The Juvenile Justice System
This article discussed diversion programs that are used to help adolescents who have been arrested for
first time misdemeanors. These diversion programs use group counseling as a mandatory component
of sentencing demonstrate initial success in reducing recidivism rates in national outcome studies. The
goal of these diversion programs are to keep adolescents out of the juvenile justice system whenever
possible (Lipsey, Howell, Kelly, Chapman, Carver, 2010). These diversion programs divert
adolescents from entering the juvenile justice system and offer alternatives to formal disciplinary
action. Teen courts (also called Youth Courts) are a growing type of diversion program that utilize a
therapeutic approach, with over 1,050 teen youth courts currently operating in the United States. They
are designed to promote restorative justice, encouraging the youth to restore the damages his or her
behaviors caused to the community. Teen courts have the flexibility to incorporate essential life skills
that are tailored to adolescents developmental needs. These groups sessions are within one year of
time and members have to complete six to eight of the sessions. These sessions include: the
introduction, communication styles, goal setting, career development, anger management skills,
healthy relationships, wellness and termination. Counseling Group Framework The philosophy of the
group counseling approach is to focus on the strengths and life skills opposed to punitive measures

Christianity Dominates American Society And Children Essay
Christianity dominates American society, and due to this any sort of religious rebellion is
automatically seen as hearsay and blasphemy that poisons our society and children. While in the
college setting we try to be more open to other ideas, people still look down on alternate religions as
the wrong way. As for the Satanist church, they re seen as downright evil, certainly a popular
misconception in our culture. When LaVey started the Temple of Satan in the 1960 s, he was poking
fun at our uptight Christian society (Urban, 170.) Modern LaVey Satanism is a mixture between
serious ritual and satire, resulting in a strange community and an even more passionate following.
Throughout our class, we have been learning about what makes a religion a religion, the people
involved, and the culture that relates to its very core. Satanism as a whole is partially religious, and
partially atheist. Nevertheless, this community is fighting for representation in the media, in schools,
and in the community as much as the next religion. Satanism is pushing against the dominant religion,
and in doing so, opening the floodgates for itself as well as other religious groups for their right to
religious freedoms in the United States. In my paper, I will discuss various branches of Satanism, with
a focus on the Satanic Temple s movement and it s fame and reception in today s media. From a
modern Christian perspective, Satan is a representation of worship of all things evil. However, modern

What Does Beatrice’s Language Show About Her Attitudes...
What does Beatrice s language show about her attitudes towards different men in the two different
scenes you have studied? 10th February 2012
Introduction
Much ado nothing is a romantic Shakespeare play about two couples of lovers. The play is set in
Messina, deep in the heart of Italy and is based in Elizabethan times. The lovers are namely; Claudio
and Hero, Bennedick and Beatrice. Claudio is a noble Florentine count from Florence. Bennedick is a
war hero from Padua. Both are honourable war heroes fighting for Don Pedro the prince of Aragon.
Beatrice is the niece of Leonato the Governor of Messina. At the beginning of the play Don Pedro and
his valiant fighters return from the wars to Messina. While at Messina Claudio immediately falls ...

However beneath all this fancy language we can derive that Bennedick was painted all over Beatrice s
thoughts and she cannot resist asking about his well being. When the messenger states he knows none
of that name, Hero her cousin says My cousin means Signor Bennedick of Padua this clearly shows
that not only is Bennedick and Beatrice s thoughts he is also a subject of conversation and discussion
between Beatrice and Hero.
The way Beatrice speaks seemingly spitefully about Bennedick shows us she is perhaps interested in
Bennedick and trying not to arouse the suspicion of the messenger and her uncle. By adding sarcastic
comments and insults where Bennedick name appears shows us she is trying hard not to bring out her
real feelings for him, the name Signor Mountanto is one of the names Beatrice has devised to insult
Bennedick however the fact that the name is so complex in meaning and the inside joke so well
thought out shows us she has really thought about this insult and it has not an insult off the top of her
head. Beatrice is more devious and careful about relationships than Claudio who seems rather
desperate to get with Hero and throw himself headfirst into a relationship that he perhaps knows
nothing about. This suggests perhaps she has more experience in love and relationships and has also
experienced disappointment and is afraid of it.

When Bennedick and Beatrice meet they immediately engage in a fierce verbal battle,

Project Future Book Report
Walt Disney World Resort is known worldwide and is a widely popular vacation spot to millions of
families every year. Though so many people know about this central Florida destination, very few
know just exactly how it came about. In his book, Project Future, Chad Denver Emerson describes in
detail the process Disney and his team went through in order to make his dream a reality. From finding
the location for the project to finalizing legislations, Emerson recalls the efforts put in by so many and
the difficulties they faced while doing so. Through this book, we see just how state and local
government were put into use during the development of Project Future. With the huge success of
Disneyland, Walt Disney became interested in working on another project on the East Coast. He had
received many letters inquiring a Disney expansion in their state or city, but the majority received a
response from Disney stating that he was not interested. Although, there were rare occasions when
Walt s interest did pique, particularly in Niagara, New Jersey, and St. Louis, but nothing more than a
few meetings and visits came out of this. One major problem with these locations is that the winter

World Resort is its own municipality and that it took years beforehand for it to actually become that.
Walt Disney worked effortlessly at this project and the fact that he never was able to see his next big

The Principles And Elements And Principles Of Graphic Design
Design is an act of creativity and innovation that soothes the aesthetics as well as functional. It s a way
of solving problems creatively. Graphic design is more about just producing something pretty. It s a
process of selecting and arranging visual elements, typography, images, info graphics, illustrations,
charts, graphs, layouts, symbols and colors to convey a message to a target audience successfully.
Graphic design is also known as visual communication that intends to convey a specific message with

Centralized: most of the designers used this kind of layout. It is easy to handle.
Golden Section: It is the most beautiful design and can be used to create pleasing, natural looking
compositions in your design work.
Typography is the art of arranging alphabets in a creative way. It should be readable, appealing,
presentable and understandable.
It depends on the skills of a designer and is about much more than making the words readable. The
choice of fonts and how a designer make it work with the layout, grid, color scheme, design theme and
so on will make the difference between a good, bad and great design.
Typeface is very important component to typography as it involves the style and tone of the font.

Immanuel Kant s Justification For The Existence Of God
It it only by one s belief in God that they could establish a justification for trusting their senses, and
furthermore for believing that our world is one of governed by certain laws established by God that
will cause it to act in a predictable manner. Yet, these are the very elements that need to be in place for
obtaining certainty about our world when using empiricism. Therefore, Locke s epistemology does not
hold up against the continuation of his own idea of empiricism; naturally it only lead to Hume, the
inexistence of God, a host of doubts, and finally in a complete lack of knowledge about the world we
live in.
Immanuel Kant s epistemological account synthesized empiricism and rationalism, forming the unique
explanation of constructivism. For Kant, both needed to work simultaneously to provide ... Show more

The two primary objections that we will view are related to his methodology of doubt and his proof of
God. Thomas Hobbes objected to Descartes methodology of doubt by claiming he was leading people
into doubt. Furthermore it has been objected that it would not be possible to truly doubt in the manner
that Descartes is claiming to doubt, and that some things simply cannot be doubted. These are minor
objections; first, Descartes is not leading people into doubt, but into his methodology of doubt. He is
not attempting to cultivate true skepticism in his readers, but is rather attempting to establish what
could potentially be doubted to confirm what is necessarily true. It is also true that it would not be
possible to truly doubt as Descartes is; he is well aware of this and uses doubt merely as a tool. Lastly,
it is true that some things cannot be doubted, and Descartes is using his methodology of doubt in

The Mountain Meadow Massacre What is the Mountain Meadow Massacre? The Mountain Meadow
Massacre was the killing of roughly 120 immigrants who were passing through Southern Utah.
Immigrant men, women and children were traveling from Arkansas to California and they were riding
a Baker Fancher wagon train. Later that day they were killed by a group a Mormons with the help of
local Paiute Indians. For a century and a half the Mountain Meadow Massacre has shocked and

Lee was killed because they found out that he was part of the Massacre. If you wonder how he was the

out from the protection of their wagons. John D. Lee and William Bateman were waving a white flag,
marched across the field and talked to the emigrants to leave their weapons, wagons, and cattle for
there could be no harm from the Mormons. That was a lie. The emigrants listened to Lee and they
were walking with a mormon by their side. Every emigrant men and women had a Mormon by their

when the massacre happened. Right when he said that, all the Mormons shot the emigrants that were

was one kid that was only 4 years old and saw his mother get killed by a mormon. He said it was the
most horriblest thing he ever saw because he was right beside his mother when he saw her get shot in

looked that when the massacre happened. John Lee, Colonel Dame, and Lt. Colonel Haight went back
home and told about the massacre to everyone. Some blamed Brigham Young but he never knew
about the massacre. Everyone were wondering who was responsible about the massacre. When Young
s official Mormons heard about that, they were worked on blaming the Indians or the emigrants
themselves. By November John D. Lee completed a fictionalized account of the massacre, attributing
all the killing to the Indians and send it to Young. When Young received it he began on his report

In the book Year of No Rain by Alice Mead, Stephen and Wol have different points of view on how

Where is Kenya? You tell us Stephen. You got a hundred in geography. From this quote I am inferring

I am visualizing Stephen being frantic and speaking in a panicking tone. I can grab from this quote
that Stephen, unlike Wol, is passionate and feels confident in his future because of the education he

The Change Of Corporate Dividend Policy
There have also been significant changes in corporate payout policy over this period.
According to the Constant payout ratio, a firm will pay a fixed dividend rate e.g. 40% of earnings.
The dividend per share would therefore fluctuate as the earnings per share changes. Dividends are
directly dependent on the firm s earnings ability and if no profits are made any dividends are paid.
This policy creates uncertainty to ordinary shareholders, especially who rely on dividend income and
might demand a higher required rate of return (Gitman, 1998).
Constant Amount Per Share or Fixed Dividend Per Share is where the dividend per share (DPS) is
fixed in amount irrespective of the earnings levels. This creates certainty and is therefore preferred by
shareholders who have a high reliance on dividend income. It protects the firm from periods of low
earnings by fixing, DPS at a low level. This policy treats all shareholders by giving a fixed return. The
DPS could be increased to a higher level if earnings appear relatively permanent and sustainable.
Under the Constant Dividend Per Share Plus Extra/ Surplus policy, a constant DPS is paid every year.
However extra dividends are paid in years of supernormal earnings. It gives the firm flexibility to
increase dividends when earnings are high and participate in supernormal earnings. The extra
dividends are given in such a way that it is not perceived as a commitment by the firm to continue the
extra dividend in the future. It is applied by

Children Should Not Adopt Children Essay
Society views adoption as a wonderful, beautiful thing that could be a positive effect for the adopted
child, but cannot see the negative effects it has on the family as a whole or the biological children.
From the perspectives of the parents adopting, the biological children, and of the adopted child,
adoption is much more complicated than it initially seems. Families that already have biological
children should not adopt children.
Growing from a family of four to a family of seven has had the biggest affect on my life, both positive
and negative. My parents brought my three adopted siblings permanently into the family when I was
four, but they were practically living with us since I was born. Living with a family of seven in a little,
run down, brown rustic colored, and memory filled mobile home in a community of similar but
uniquely individual trailers lined up next to each other having their own story to tell holds a very
impacting memory of my life. People may think that adopting children into a family who already have

Darcy Deception
In the novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen we have the opportunity to see first hand through the
eyes of the author an interpretation of what she perceives to be the social norms and expectations
revolving around different topics like marriage, love, and deception. The central plot in the novel
revolves around two main characters Elizabeth and Darcy. Despite any emotional connection or
mutual feelings they have for each other they are torn apart because of two different worlds society
makes them believe they live in. Throughout the novel, Darcy deceive the people around him mostly
the people he truly cares about in order to protect them. Darcy decides to do what he believes would
be the best thing to protect those he cares about in order to protect them and their feelings. Darcy s
best friend, Bingley finds himself attracted to Elizabeth s sister Jane. However, Darcy didn t see or
understand that Jane s guard was up and he genuinely believed that Jane didn t feel the same way.
Darcy then decides to stop anything between Bingley and Jane from happening in order to spare his
friends feelings. Further into the novel, Bingley and Jane end up being in London at the same time.
Darcy deceives Bingley once again and kept him away from knowing that Jane was in town as well.

Harms of Watching Television
There are benefits to watching TV like gaining minimal knowledge, but in comparison to how harmful
it can be that small amount of knowledge isn t worth it. Also television can harm a child s
development, encourage laziness, and cause you to obtain an addiction to it. There are so many things
that you can damage when you watch TV on a regular basis, why do this to yourself?
To begin, the first few years of life are very critical for a child s development, why ruin it by using a
TV as a babysitter? Research states that children who are always watching TV, or even just have it on
as background noise, aren t as likely to develop Theory of mind . Theory of mind is the idea that you
aren t the only one that has a mind. Since you can t actually see someone else s mind it s only logical
to base it off of you having one , it allows people to come to the realization that other people have
beliefs and desires different from their own, children who are constantly exposed to television have a
more likely risk of not developing this which can lead to autism, schizophrenia, and other such things.
To add, children who are always watching TV are more likely to form an attention disorder and this
can result in academic and social trouble. These disabilities can lead to a very challenging life that
might have been avoidable if you tried to help them walk, develop speech, and obtain reading skills,
instead of just sitting them in front of a TV all day.

Evaluation Of The Execution Of An Evaluation
Program Evaluation Chapters 11 12 Warranting the execution of an evaluation is not practical reality
for all programs, policies, organizations, as it is imperative for the evaluator to assess all factors. More
specifically, The temptation to evaluate everything may be compelling in an idealistic sense, but it
ignores many practical realities (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011, p. 259. Ones ability to identify
appropriate opportunities requires essential skillsets, knowledge, and the ability to analyze each
condition. In today s society the primary drive behind an evaluation is due to a mandated funding
source, thus seeking accountability regarding public funded programs (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen,
2011). Identifying the purpose of the evaluation is often times vague, requiring the evaluator to
examine significant materials pertaining to the stakeholders, as well as properly identifying objectives
and expectancies held by the stakeholders (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011). This process requests
the evaluator to review the purpose of the program, the users, the program, program theory, relevant
resources, and appropriate contextual issues. The evaluation process can have significant positive
impacts on both the stakeholders and the evaluator, as communication, knowledge, and relationships
are established. Thus, Evaluation can also educate stakeholders, empowering them to become active in
the evaluations, by helping them gain skills in questioning

Per Ohlin Research Paper
Per Dead Ohlin The black metal genre has changed a lot throughout the years because of many
influential musicians in the scene. One of the bands to change the scene entirely was Mayhem. One of
Mayhem s particular vocalists, Per Ohlin, did even more for the genre. Per Dead Ohlin started as a
very reserved young man but he later grew up to be one of the most morbid and influential black metal
musicians in the music industry, changing the genre entirely. Per Ohlin was born in Västerhaninge,
Sweden on January 16, 1969 (Patterson 143). He suffered from several medical problems in his early
years. By the age of 3, he suffered from sleep apnea, which caused him to be awake all too often.

The Motif In Rhodopis And The Egyptian Cinderella Story
Throughout the world, there are hundreds of Cinderella stories from many different cultures on Earth.
Each Cinderella story around the world connects to the culture it originates in, based on their political,
economical, and religious beliefs, as well as their location and their achievements, like the Cinderella
story from France, and Rhodopis (the Egyptian Cinderella story). Furthermore, according to the
Egyptian (actually Greek) Rhodopis and the French Cinderella, both are similar in a way where the
motif damsel in distress , reveals the culture it originates from through the social necessity of social
classes.
In this case, the French Cinderella damsel in distress motif reveals that the story originated in France.

The damsel in distress in the Egyptian Cinderella story is a young woman who is a slave to a rich
master. Rhodopis is always being made fun of and forced to do all the hard work of her fellow servant
girls, just because she is different and beautiful. I know this, because the story claims that, They would
tease her and make fun of her, . They made sure that she did all the work, like, washing clothes,
weeding the garden, and making their food for them, par. 2. This punishment is unfair for Rhodopis,
which shows the damsel in distress motif in the Egyptian story as well. Rhodopis got captured by
pirates, and sold as a slave, according to the story. This was very common in Ancient Egypt, because
there was a need for somebody to do the housekeeping work for rich people who had government
posts and couldn t do the work. All of the wealth in Egypt came from the crops that slaves/farmers
would grow to make money, which was given to the nobles to distribute to the people and give to the
Pharaoh. Without the slaves, there would be no crops, and without crops, there would be no money.
Because of this, the author of Rhodopis altered the story to make the damsel in distress motif fit in
with the Egyptian social necessity of

Essay On Reflection On Ethics
CRITICAL REFLECTION ON ETHICS
Venessa Bjork
The Situation:
A seasoned social worker employed by a community mental health center was seeking consultation on
an ethical dilemma. The ethical dilemma is that one of her clients, Alice M., had committed suicide
and her parents would like her to deliver a eulogy at Alice s funeral. The social worker discussed how
she wanted to be supportive, but she also was concerned about Alice s confidentiality and boundaries
with the family.
Dolgoff s General Decision Making Model:
1. Identify the problem
The practitioner should focus mostly on disagreeing values related to the client s privacy and worth,

If the social worker were to give the eulogy, she may offer comfort to the client s parents and possibly
others who attend the funeral. The social worker may also obtain some comfort in the manner.
In contrast, giving the eulogy may compromise the client s privacy and confidentiality. Those who
attend the funeral may feel uncomfortable hearing the social worker s comments, especially if the
social worker reveals the nature of her relationship with the deceased. Also, the social worker s status
may be damaged (along with her agency and the social work profession) if those who are in
attendance are disapproving of the social worker s decision to give the eulogy.
If the social worker declines, the client s parents may be angry and upset. Also, the social worker may
feel some doubts as a result, particularly if the social worker s rapport with the parents becomes
stressed.
6. Select and implement using Ethical Principles Screen:
a. Principle 1: Protection of life (the preservation of life is the highest principle)
In regards to the protection of life, it is important to not forget that this includes the quality of life.
One thing that is crucial in the principle is that we did not want to hinder the parents quality of life,

My Journey To Hong Kong Essay
Like many things, my journey to Hong Kong has a beginning, middle and end but, not in that order. I
would always assume that the beginning of my journey started the moment I stepped on Cebu Pacific

oblivious to the fact that what lay ahead of me consisted more than that of a theme park and cold

Inching my way towards the city lights, I left the Philippines for a new world half expecting 9 out of 8

Optimization Of Water And Nano Fluid
Constructal optimization of water and nano fluid flow for micro channel heat sinks with rectangular
cross section
Abstract
In this paper, three dimensional water and Al2O3 water nano fluid flow and heat transfer is optimized
geometrically using constructal theory. A numerical code based on the finite volume method and
SIMPLER algorithm is developed to solve the governing equations. The code is carefully validated by
comparing numerical predictions with experimental data. In this study we consider aspect ratio,
number of channels in the heat sink and solid fraction factor as degrees of freedom. Given a specific
volume and axial length of the micro channel heat sinks and a fixed pressure drop, we want to find out
the best possible number of channels in the system, and geometry of each channel that maximizes the
global thermal conductance. Furthermore we investigate the effect of different pressure drops. The
results show that the geometric parameters have a strong effect on the performance of micro channel
heat sink. Comparison of the results of water and Al2O3 water nano fluid indicate that neither Re nor
pressure drop along the channel are good parameters to compare the thermal performance of nano
fluid and water.

Personalisation In Health And Social Care Essay
The personalisation is the concept had been mentioned commonly in health and social care setting,
and there are personalisation strategies available for care providers to refer to adjust their services in

Social inclusion is a theme of reducing inequalities between the least advantaged groups, communities
and the rest of society. To involve people who are in the least advantaged groups to engage and
support with opportunities are available for them can reduce the gap from the mainstream society. As I
mentioned above that some people tend to become isolated in the community due to their disability
and moving into care home setting is one of the solution to have opportunity of meeting people from
same generation and sharing similar value of life thus to reduce the social exclusion. Nowadays care
providers endeavour to build good relationship with local communities by organising all sorts of
events for reasons of promoting residents wellbeing and marketing purpose. However, on the other
hand for those who choose living in care home setting as the second best due to their increased care
needs, they can be at risk of social isolation. It would not be too difficult to make the situation worse if
some other resident made a negative comment in the communal area. This will make them feel
unwelcomed and want to stay in their own bedroom all the time which contribute to the fact of being
isolated in the home. Then it will rely on the management of the home in terms of how to avoiding

Hierarchical Social Constructs Among Chinese Americans
Hierarchical Social Constructs amongst Chinese Americans
Introduction
There are many aspects of the Chinese American culture that other ethnic groups do not understand.
Social hierarchy, an overarching aspect of the Chinese American community, is a paradigm that shapes
Chinese American culture. This social hierarchy often affect personal decisions that may prompt a
Chinese national to want to immigrate to the United States. Once here, many of these now Chinese
Americans are forced to transact with the larger American population while negotiating their spot in
their expatriate hierarchy. As a Chinese family immigrates into the US, they are faced with many
decisions in regards to their acculturation and eventual assimilation. While negotiating these obstacles,
individual Chinese Americans are faced with the dilemma of what customs they want to retain and
what cultural nuances they want to discard. As there are many thriving Chinese American
communities in large US cities, it becomes imperative that social workers further understand Chinese
American culture. According to Barnes and Bennett, Immigration and births now account for
2,734,841 Chinese Americans living in the United States, the largest Asian American population
reported in the 2000 census (as cited in Dorton Lantz, 2007, p. 121). People want to emigrate out of

her long white prima donna legs (97), straps that are off her shoulders looped loose around the cool
tops of her arms (98) so that there was nothing between the top of her suit and the top of her head
except her... I mean, it was more than just pretty (98) and with breasts like the two coolest scoops of
vanilla I had ever known were there (101). Age, physical characteristics and dress aren t the only
differences that he notices between the girls and the regular customers. The girls also walk the store
aisles against the usual traffic pattern and the regular customers find that disconcerting. Obviously,
these girls do not follow the social conventions of the town. When the girls arrive at Sammy s check
out counter he learns Queenie is buying herring in sour cream for her mother. Lengel, the manager,
taking notice of them, comes over and tells them they are not at the beach and the store wants them
decently dressed when they come in here (100). While the embarrassed girls defend themselves
against Lengel s continued criticism, Sammy imagines Queenie s house where the snacks will be
eaten. He slid right down her voice into her living room. Her father and the

Brave New World Identity Essay
Brave New World is a book that revolves around the cultural elements of Community, Identity,
Stability (1). That motto is something that holds true for the many average lives that partake in the
New World community and can even apply to the Reservations that are explained throughout the
book. However, there is an exception to this motto and that exception is John the Savage. John is truly
an outsider in both cultures, for many different, yet similar, ways. He is caught between two extremely
different worlds, worlds of which he isn t accepted as normal. He tends to stick with the identity that
he created on the Reservation, which revolves around Shakespeare and the acts of the other Savages,
and, when entering the New World, he is truly faced with a cultural collision, which ultimately leads
to his demise. John s responses to this battle between cultural beliefs proves how inhumane the New
World truly is, mainly because of conditioning. True love in the New World is something that is
completely foreign to the majority of the machine minds of the people who live there and is ... Show

He fought for change and development, as well as the freedom of the people who don t even know
that they are imprisoned by their controllers. His identity guided him to do that, to fight for change.
However, the Controllers have different ideas in mind, as Mustapha Mond informs John that, we don t
want change. Every change is a menace to stability. That s another reason we re so chary of applying
new inventions (Huxley 224 225). Change and development is an integral part of life, even for John.
He may have never acted in such ways that he did if it weren t for reading and the development of his
own mind. He had an opportunity that many in the New World don t and that is the freedom to
develop and expand his horizons of thinking, which is a freedom that everyone

The President Of The United States Essay
Reflection
What seems like a lifetime ago I took a trip of a lifetime with my mother and two of my children to
Washington D.C. to witness Barack Obama take the oath of President of the United States, and
become the 44th President. Nearly 8 years have passed since my mother and I took 2 of my children,
Austin and Tanner to the Inauguration of Barack Obama, our nation s 1st black President.
Consequently, I have been reflecting back on that experience as we near the final days of a highly
contentious and low brow election cycle. Although 8 years ago I was full of hope for our country, for
my family, for the melding of races as American s had the opportunity to embrace the true meaning of
the words The United States, conversely that is not how I feel today.
Celebrating holidays such as Martin Luther King Jr. s birthday and incorporating Black History Month
activities has always provided opportunities to teach all of my children about the civil rights
movement, how far our nation has come and how changes must continue to attain full equality. All in
all, our nation has made progress towards positive race relations, but then wannabe thugs call my kids
Niggers, and it is like taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Explaining to my children what Bloody
Sunday was in preparation to view the movie, Selma, or trying to explain the murders of Trayvon
Martin, and Michael Brown are poignant examples of why race still matters. While I feel like I m

Compassion Fatigue Research Paper
In the field of medicine, there is large debate over something known as compassion fatigue. Some say
it exists while others claim it doesn t. I believe the reason people debate the idea of compassion
fatigue being a reality is due to a misunderstanding in how compassion fatigue manifests.
Compassion fatigue has many names; vicarious trauma, secondary traumatic stress, and secondary
victimization. Dr. Frank M. Ochberg, MD, defines it as, ...a low level, chronic clouding of caring and
concern for others in your life whether you work in or outside the home. Over time, your ability to feel
and care for others becomes eroded through overuse of your skills of compassion. This is a good way
to explain the apathy brought on when compassion fatigue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I believe it to be more a lack of emotion due to frequently endured traumas in the field. In a situation
where you re able to say, Dr. Don used to react so much more to death five years ago. But he seems to
be numb now, you may be witnessing compassion fatigue manifest in lack of emotion. It s not that Dr.
Don no longer cares; It s that he no longer feels the need to, or has the will to, express emotions
toward the situation. This can pose a lot of issues in the long run. Unwillingness to express emotion
can turn to depression, anxiety, lethargy, and self loathing. But let s look at the other side and examine
why there are those that call it a myth.
Dr. Dani McVety, DVM, states that, ...I think it s an overused term in the veterinary industry,
following with a quote from her colleague, Dr. Alice Villalobos, DVM, I believe what we really
struggle with in our profession is not so much compassion fatigue as ethical fatigue. I believe this
whole heartedly. It s not that compassion fatigue isn t real; It s that many people blanket the term over
all signs of depression in the field. Compassion fatigue is a very particular mental reaction; Using it so
frequently leads to the disbelief in its existence, which can be damaging for those truly suffering from

Persuasive Essay On How To Eat
Following the French restaurant scene, a women s etiquette class on how to eat spaghetti appropriately
takes place in an Italian restaurant. The teacher speaks to the class that they should only catch three or
four strings of spaghetti and eat them silently. However, after a westerner eats spaghetti casually and
makes a loud noise, the entire etiquette class, including the teacher, begins to shovel the food into their
mouths. At this point, the pleasure of eating food has taken place of the eating tradition of classiness
and elegance. Additionally, the film shows a man who is suffering from a toothache because of eating
too much. Even when he is feeling the pain, he is unable to resist the temptation of dim sum on the
subway, which leads him to a trip to the dental office. His tooth has such a huge abscess that the
dentist and nurses almost vomit. For the man, food brings him so much pleasure that he breaks the
boundaries of healthy eating to enjoy the food. Moreover, after the dentist states that he should start by
eating something soft, he buys an ice cream cone right away. The ice cream attracts a kid who is
forbidden from eating sweets by her mom. The man gives the ice cream cone to the child, and the
child guiltily indulges through the ice cream cone. For the child, food also represents pleasure that
breaks the boundary of healthy eating.
Moreover, for the man in white suit in the movie Tampopo, food brings about sexual pleasure. He

While conducting Perishable and Frozen LTO studies, it was noted that methodology for handling

The proper procedure for handling commingled pallets from any double deep reserve locations is:
LTO driver arrives at the system directed reserve location, vertical lift and retrieve entire pallet stack
(unless the system directed pallet is obtainable).
LTO driver must RPK the non requested pallet(s) back to an available reserve location.

The Portrayal Of Race On The Media
The Portrayal of Race in the Media
Ryker M. Bolden
Walla Walla University Abstract
This paper takes a look at five popular American television shows and breaks down how race and
issues involving racism are portrayed in American media, specifically television, in today s society.
We will analyze the characters, symbols, messages, and interactions in each of the five programs and
how they shape the public attitude on racial and ethnic groups. The shows used in this paper are
Veronica Mars, Community, Whose Line is it Anyway, Psych, and Castle. Each of these programs
offer similar portrayals of race; few characters fall into stereotypes while the majority of others are
unique and well balanced. Keywords: racism, stereotypes, discrimination The Portrayal of Race in the
Media Television is a massively popular media platform that provides information to billions of
viewers worldwide. This information plays a significant role in shaping the public opinion on many
topics. However, when the information provided on TV is inaccurate or oversimplified it can often
lead to misinterpretation by the viewer. Research has shown that television often influences people s
opinions and attitude towards other racial and ethnic groups. Since a stereotype is oversimplified
generalization about a group of people, it makes sense that the oversimplified information that shows
up on television could easily form stereotypes about the different racial and ethnic groups we see.

The Struggle for Self-Definition in Boys and Girls by...
The Struggle for Self Definition in Boys and Girls
When we are adolescents we see the world through our parents eyes. We struggle to define ourselves
within their world, or to even break away from their world. Often, the birth of our self is defined in a
moment of truth or a moment of heightened self awareness that is the culmination of a group of events
or the result of a life crisis or struggle. In literature we refer to this birth of self as an epiphany. Alice
Munro writes in Boys and Girls about her own battle to define herself. She is torn between the inside
world of her mother and the outside world of her father. In the beginning her father s world prevails,
but by the finale, her mother s world invades her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, she is filled with the sense of being a part of something important. It seemed to me that work . . .
done out of doors, and in my father s service, was ritualistically important (113). She is contributing to
the family income in her own way when each year she rakes the grass, carries water for the foxes, or
cleans the watering dishes. Her father may be stern, but he is proud of his tom boy. He remarks to a
passing salesman, Like to have you meet my new hired man. This praise from her father fills her with
delight, I turned away and raked furiously, red in the face with pleasure (112). Children need praise
from their parents like they need food.
Then, in the months prior to Christmas, Father slaughters the animals, skins them, and sells their pelts
for the family s yearly income. He actually skins the foxes in the basement of the house where she
lives. The smell of the pelting process . . . penetrated all parts of the house. The reader finds the whole
process and the fact that she watches this process with her brother, Laird, repulsive at first, but she
describes the process as reassuringly seasonal, like the smell of oranges and pine needles. These things
are normal for her, yet in the following passage there is an under current that her father s business is
upsetting to her, although she is not fully aware of this until later in the story. We see the
foreshadowing of this in the following line: We

U.s. Auto Parts Industry
 Despite recent growth, the U.S. motor vehicle sector is still behind. Total U.S. motor vehicle sector
sales in 2011 were 48.1 percent below sales in 2000 because of declining overall demand and
significant long term loss of market share.  The U.S. auto parts industry is particularly vulnerable.
The U.S. trade deficit in auto parts increased from $9.5 billion in 2000 to $31.2 billion in 2010.
Exports support U.S. jobs, but imports displace production that would support domestic employment;
thus, on balance, trade deficits tend to increase unemployment (holding everything else in the
economy constant).  The U.S. auto parts industry is threatened by Chinese practices. Heavily

Themes Of Birds In Psycho
Psycho a film directed by Alfred Hitchcock was created for the purpose of inciting fear and suspense
to engage its audience.
Hitchcock portrayed the message of mental health throughout the film.
Psycho both encouraged and allowed the audience to reflect on the message of mental health also.
Hitchcock utilises birds and taxidermy, the visual motif of eyes, and camera angles to engage his
audience and to create suspense.
Within the movie Psycho, birds are a prominent motif. The themes of isolation and duality, were
emphasized by the use of bird related language, such as Marion s surname being Crane and her being
from Phoenix. While dining with Norman in the parlor of the Bates motel, Marion is told by Bates that
she eats like a bird , this transitions to Norman stating that he knows a lot about taxidermy and the
stuffing of birds, however not so much about how they are when they are alive. Hitchcock suggests
the fact that Norman doesn t know how to function normally within society, however indicating he
does know how to coexist with his mother . The taxidermy of the birds foreshadows that his mother is
in fact stuffed (preserved) and Norman is the one keeping her alive . Hitchcock effectively utilised
taxidermy and birds, to highlight Norman s mental health. These create suspense, to help engage the
audience.
A prominent visual motif Hitchcock utilised within the film was the characters eyes. The themes of
voyeurism and surveillance were underlined throughout

During each visit, I was able to follow Ms. Lee s daily routine. In the morning, we had 30 minutes to plan and get her cart ready with supplies she needed for the day. Also, we would both create various model artworks to inspire her students to create something more original and imaginative. She wheeled her cart through certain elementary classes depending on her schedule. Depending on the grade level she was assign to that day, we were able to teach her students the fundamental concepts of arts and major art movements, all in 30 minutes. Every three weeks, she would focus on a concept, artist, or art movement. Additionally, she would assign vocabulary words, which her students would copy and also had access to them online on Quizlet. At the end, she would administer a summative test on everything they learned for the past three weeks. On the other hand, Ms. Lee s middle school classes were different, more one on one, and it was a one hour period. Her students were able to recreate impressionist and expressionist artworks, such as Monet s Water Lilies, Van Gogh Starry Night and The Bedroom on wall sized canvases. Despite the diversity of art concepts taught, it can become quite difficult for one teacher to teach 23 elementary classes and 11 middle school classes. • 5. Peak Expiratory Flow Rate Peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR) is a measure of how much a person can breathe out in a single large breath. PEFR is used as a clinical tool to test the functionality of a patient s lung, the severity of asthma or other respiratory illness symptoms and the best course of treatment for the patient. The PEFR reading will be lower when a person s airways are constricted and should be at its highest when the patient is at full health. The PEFR is measured using a small handheld device known as a peak flow meter. PEFR is dependent on a person s gender, age, height, weight, smoker status as well as other factors. The relationship between PEFR and height is a commonly accepted and studied positive linear relationship. Dharamshi et al (2015) studied the relationship between height, waist to hip ratio and weight in regards to recorded PEFR values in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They found that height was the most strongly correlated factor to do with an increase in the PEFR value recorded. They also suggest that other factors such as regional and environmental factors may also effect the PEFR values obtained and further studies should be done in that area. This study strongly indicates a statistically significant positive linear relationship between height and PEFR values. As a result of these findings it was clear there was some kind of relationship between height and PEFR. To test this, data was taken from a class of biology students. PEFR values before and after exercise, their smoker status, age, gender, height, weight as well as other relevant information were recorded and narrowed down to a particular group of people to compare their PEFR values and height to determine whether there was in fact a positive linear relationship between height and PEFR. • 6. History Of Delta Guitar Blues guitar originated around the 19th century in the deep south of the United States. In the Deep South, a large black population existed and many of them succumbed to slavery and racial oppressions. In these hard times, music became a common language between them. The blacks that were being culturally oppressed expressed their emotions by playing Blues music. One of the earliest forms of blues was being formed in the Mississippi delta which is known as Delta Blues. It reflected the oppressive nature of life the blacks had. It displayed short repetitive phrases and was more percussive than melodic. The delta blues encompasses bottleneck guitar style as it utilizes tons of sliding techniques. These diversion programs use group counseling as a mandatory component of sentencing demonstrate initial success in reducing recidivism rates in national outcome studies. The goal of these diversion programs are to keep adolescents out of the juvenile justice system whenever possible (Lipsey, Howell, Kelly, Chapman, Carver, 2010). These diversion programs divert adolescents from entering the juvenile justice system and offer alternatives to formal disciplinary action. Teen courts (also called Youth Courts) are a growing type of diversion program that utilize a therapeutic approach, with over 1,050 teen youth courts currently operating in the United States. They are designed to promote restorative justice, encouraging the youth to restore the damages his or her behaviors caused to the community. • 8. Christianity Dominates American Society And Children Essay Christianity dominates American society, and due to this any sort of religious rebellion is automatically seen as hearsay and blasphemy that poisons our society and children. While in the college setting we try to be more open to other ideas, people still look down on alternate religions as the wrong way. As for the Satanist church, they re seen as downright evil, certainly a popular misconception in our culture. When LaVey started the Temple of Satan in the 1960 s, he was poking fun at our uptight Christian society (Urban, 170.) Modern LaVey Satanism is a mixture between serious ritual and satire, resulting in a strange community and an even more passionate following. Throughout our class, we have been learning about what makes a religion a religion, the people involved, and the culture that relates to its very core. Satanism as a whole is partially religious, and partially atheist. Nevertheless, this community is fighting for representation in the media, in schools, and in the community as much as the next religion. Satanism is pushing against the dominant religion, and in doing so, opening the floodgates for itself as well as other religious groups for their right to religious freedoms in the United States. In my paper, I will discuss various branches of Satanism, with a focus on the Satanic Temple s movement and it s fame and reception in today s media. From a modern Christian perspective, Satan is a representation of worship of all things evil. However, modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. What Does Beatrice’s Language Show About Her Attitudes... What does Beatrice s language show about her attitudes towards different men in the two different scenes you have studied? 10th February 2012 Introduction Much ado nothing is a romantic Shakespeare play about two couples of lovers. The play is set in Messina, deep in the heart of Italy and is based in Elizabethan times. The lovers are namely; Claudio and Hero, Bennedick and Beatrice. Claudio is a noble Florentine count from Florence. Bennedick is a war hero from Padua. Both are honourable war heroes fighting for Don Pedro the prince of Aragon. Beatrice is the niece of Leonato the Governor of Messina. At the beginning of the play Don Pedro and his valiant fighters return from the wars to Messina. While at Messina Claudio immediately falls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However beneath all this fancy language we can derive that Bennedick was painted all over Beatrice s thoughts and she cannot resist asking about his well being. When the messenger states he knows none of that name, Hero her cousin says My cousin means Signor Bennedick of Padua this clearly shows that not only is Bennedick and Beatrice s thoughts he is also a subject of conversation and discussion between Beatrice and Hero. The way Beatrice speaks seemingly spitefully about Bennedick shows us she is perhaps interested in Bennedick and trying not to arouse the suspicion of the messenger and her uncle. By adding sarcastic comments and insults where Bennedick name appears shows us she is trying hard not to bring out her real feelings for him, the name Signor Mountanto is one of the names Beatrice has devised to insult Bennedick however the fact that the name is so complex in meaning and the inside joke so well thought out shows us she has really thought about this insult and it has not an insult off the top of her head. Beatrice is more devious and careful about relationships than Claudio who seems rather desperate to get with Hero and throw himself headfirst into a relationship that he perhaps knows nothing about. This suggests perhaps she has more experience in love and relationships and has also experienced disappointment and is afraid of it. Though so many people know about this central Florida destination, very few know just exactly how it came about. In his book, Project Future, Chad Denver Emerson describes in detail the process Disney and his team went through in order to make his dream a reality. From finding the location for the project to finalizing legislations, Emerson recalls the efforts put in by so many and the difficulties they faced while doing so. Through this book, we see just how state and local government were put into use during the development of Project Future. With the huge success of Disneyland, Walt Disney became interested in working on another project on the East Coast. He had received many letters inquiring a Disney expansion in their state or city, but the majority received a response from Disney stating that he was not interested. Although, there were rare occasions when Walt s interest did pique, particularly in Niagara, New Jersey, and St. Louis, but nothing more than a few meetings and visits came out of this. Immanuel Kant s Justification For The Existence Of God It it only by one s belief in God that they could establish a justification for trusting their senses, and furthermore for believing that our world is one of governed by certain laws established by God that will cause it to act in a predictable manner. Yet, these are the very elements that need to be in place for obtaining certainty about our world when using empiricism. Therefore, Locke s epistemology does not hold up against the continuation of his own idea of empiricism; naturally it only lead to Hume, the inexistence of God, a host of doubts, and finally in a complete lack of knowledge about the world we live in. Immanuel Kant s epistemological account synthesized empiricism and rationalism, forming the unique explanation of constructivism. For Kant, both needed to work simultaneously to provide ... These are minor objections; first, Descartes is not leading people into doubt, but into his methodology of doubt. He is not attempting to cultivate true skepticism in his readers, but is rather attempting to establish what could potentially be doubted to confirm what is necessarily true. Later that day they were killed by a group a Mormons with the help of local Paiute Indians. John D. Lee and William Bateman were waving a white flag, marched across the field and talked to the emigrants to leave their weapons, wagons, and cattle for there could be no harm from the Mormons. That was a lie. The emigrants listened to Lee and they were walking with a mormon by their side. Every emigrant men and women had a Mormon by their side with a gun. Only seventeen kids survived and they were maybe at least 7 years old or younger. There was one kid that was only 4 years old and saw his mother get killed by a mormon. He said it was the most horriblest thing he ever saw because he was right beside his mother when he saw her get shot in the head. The mormons let those 17 kids leave on their own.The next day after the massacre Colonel Dame and Lt. Colonel Haight visited the site of the massacre with John Lee. He described how it looked that when the massacre happened. John Lee, Colonel Dame, and Lt. Colonel Haight went back home and told about the massacre to everyone. Some blamed Brigham Young but he never knew about the massacre. Everyone were wondering who was responsible about the massacre. When Young s official Mormons heard about that, they were worked on blaming the Indians or the emigrants themselves. By November John D. In the midway chapters of the book A Year of no Rain by Alice Mead, Wol changes the way he feel s towards Naomi. On page 19 he said, Stephen, do you think Naiomi likes me? This clearly makes Wol sound like he is in love with her. Then, when Naomi goes missing he is more focused on whether or not she is alive. • 18. The Change Of Corporate Dividend Policy There have also been significant changes in corporate payout policy over this period. According to the Constant payout ratio, a firm will pay a fixed dividend rate e.g. 40% of earnings. The dividend per share would therefore fluctuate as the earnings per share changes. Dividends are directly dependent on the firm s earnings ability and if no profits are made any dividends are paid. This policy creates uncertainty to ordinary shareholders, especially who rely on dividend income and might demand a higher required rate of return (Gitman, 1998). Constant Amount Per Share or Fixed Dividend Per Share is where the dividend per share (DPS) is fixed in amount irrespective of the earnings levels. This creates certainty and is therefore preferred by shareholders who have a high reliance on dividend income. It protects the firm from periods of low earnings by fixing, DPS at a low level. This policy treats all shareholders by giving a fixed return. The DPS could be increased to a higher level if earnings appear relatively permanent and sustainable. Under the Constant Dividend Per Share Plus Extra/ Surplus policy, a constant DPS is paid every year. However extra dividends are paid in years of supernormal earnings. It gives the firm flexibility to increase dividends when earnings are high and participate in supernormal earnings. The extra dividends are given in such a way that it is not perceived as a commitment by the firm to continue the extra dividend in the future. It is applied by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the perspectives of the parents adopting, the biological children, and of the adopted child, adoption is much more complicated than it initially seems. Families that already have biological children should not adopt children. Growing from a family of four to a family of seven has had the biggest affect on my life, both positive and negative. In today s society the primary drive behind an evaluation is due to a mandated funding source, thus seeking accountability regarding public funded programs (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011). Identifying the purpose of the evaluation is often times vague, requiring the evaluator to examine significant materials pertaining to the stakeholders, as well as properly identifying objectives and expectancies held by the stakeholders (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011). This process requests the evaluator to review the purpose of the program, the users, the program, program theory, relevant resources, and appropriate contextual issues. Optimization Of Water And Nano Fluid Constructal optimization of water and nano fluid flow for micro channel heat sinks with rectangular cross section Abstract In this paper, three dimensional water and Al2O3 water nano fluid flow and heat transfer is optimized geometrically using constructal theory. A numerical code based on the finite volume method and SIMPLER algorithm is developed to solve the governing equations. The code is carefully validated by comparing numerical predictions with experimental data. In this study we consider aspect ratio, number of channels in the heat sink and solid fraction factor as degrees of freedom. Given a specific volume and axial length of the micro channel heat sinks and a fixed pressure drop, we want to find out the best possible number of channels in the system, and geometry of each channel that maximizes the global thermal conductance. Furthermore we investigate the effect of different pressure drops. The results show that the geometric parameters have a strong effect on the performance of micro channel heat sink. Comparison of the results of water and Al2O3 water nano fluid indicate that neither Re nor pressure drop along the channel are good parameters to compare the thermal performance of nano fluid and water. Nowadays care providers endeavour to build good relationship with local communities by organising all sorts of events for reasons of promoting residents wellbeing and marketing purpose. That motto is something that holds true for the many average lives that partake in the New World community and can even apply to the Reservations that are explained throughout the book. The President Of The United States Essay Reflection What seems like a lifetime ago I took a trip of a lifetime with my mother and two of my children to Washington D.C. to witness Barack Obama take the oath of President of the United States, and become the 44th President. Nearly 8 years have passed since my mother and I took 2 of my children, Austin and Tanner to the Inauguration of Barack Obama, our nation s 1st black President. Consequently, I have been reflecting back on that experience as we near the final days of a highly contentious and low brow election cycle. Although 8 years ago I was full of hope for our country, for my family, for the melding of races as American s had the opportunity to embrace the true meaning of the words The United States, conversely that is not how I feel today. We will analyze the characters, symbols, messages, and interactions in each of the five programs and how they shape the public attitude on racial and ethnic groups. The shows used in this paper are Veronica Mars, Community, Whose Line is it Anyway, Psych, and Castle. Each of these programs offer similar portrayals of race; few characters fall into stereotypes while the majority of others are unique and well balanced. Keywords: racism, stereotypes, discrimination The Portrayal of Race in the Media Television is a massively popular media platform that provides information to billions of viewers worldwide. This information plays a significant role in shaping the public opinion on many topics.
