यूनानी चिकित्सा विज्ञान, चिकित्सा विज्ञान के जनक Hippocrates के अखलात के सिद्धांत पर आधारित है। इस सिद्धांत के अनुसार शरीर में चार प्रकार के अखलत होता है, जो स्वस्थ्य अथवा बीमारी के लिए उत्तरदायी होता है।

5. Early Life and Education
• The Unani physician Hakim Mohammad
Kabiruddin was born on 14 April 1894 at
Saikhpura, Bihar, British India. His
father’s name was Shaikh Jamiluddin. He
received his elementary education
at Saikhpura and then went to Kanpur at
the age of 11years with his brother
Hakim Zahruddin in 1905. At Kanpur, he
learned Arabic and Persian from Molana
Abdullah Kanpuri and Molana Ahmad
Hassan Kanpuri for two years.
6. Takmil-ut-tib Lucknow
• In 1907, he came to Lucknow, where he
studied from Molana Abdul Majeed
Firangimahli in Canning College,
Lucknow, then he took admission in
Takmil-ut-tib Lucknow but not completed
his study from this institute. Then he
moved to Delhi where he got admission to
Madarsa Tibbya, Delhi in 1909. Here he
studied the Unani medicine under the
guidance of Hakim Abdul Rasheed
Rampuri, Hakim Abdul Rehman
7. Teachers
• He studied the Unani medicine under the
guidance of Hakim Abdul Rasheed
Rampuri, Hakim Abdul Rehman Punjabi,
Hakim Abdul Razzaq Peerji, Hakim
Mohammad Ahmad Khan, Hakim Gulam
Kibriya Khan, Dr. Ameer Chand and gain
practical knowledge under the guidance of
Hakim Ajmal Khan. Though he continued
to excel in his studies, got the first position
and won Shiv Parsad Bahadur and
Shamshul utba medal
8. "Jibda-tah-Al-Hukma
• Hakim Sb. went to Lahore for
higher education, where he got the
degree of "Jibda-tah-Al-Hukma"
from Oriental College, Lahore. He
also studied Arabic and Persian
from Madarsa Nomania, Lahore.
9. Beginning of Translation
• In Lahore, he worked as a
translator for Pandit Thakur Dutt
Sharma and Hakim Gulam Jilani,
• Later he left the job and
established a clinic “Faiz-e-Kabir”
where he taught Hikmat to
students along with the healing
practice
10. Major Accomplishments
• After returning from Lahore he
joined Tibbia College, Delhi in
the department of translation.
• In 1917, He joined Ayurvedic
and Unani Tibbi College, Delhi
as the teacher of Anatomy.
11. Daftar al-Masih
• In 1921, He founded Al-Masih, a
monthly magazine, published for eight
years from 1921 to 1928. He also
established ‘Daftar al-Masih’, a
publishing house, which published
original works as well as translations, to
make it more accessible. The ‘Daftar al-
Masih’ played a pivotal role in the
translation and edition of Arabic and
Persian text of Unani medicine into Urdu.

• Several scholars like Hakim Sayed
Mohmad Yusuf, Hakim
Mohammad Sadique, Hakim
Habeeb, Hakim Khawja Rizwan
Ahmad Dr. Usman, etc. were the
part of this organization.
• Hakim Kabiruddin was secretory
and Hakim Abdul Wahid was a
joint secretary of Daftar al-Masih
13. Risalah-yi Quaroorah
• He compiled a work Risalah-yi
Quaroorah on urine diagnosis
(uroscopy & urinalysis). Instead
of elaborating on the traditional
modes of uroscopy, he gives an
extensive account of modern
approaches to urine diagnosis by
its chemical analyses
14. As a Researcher
• On 2nd July 1926, Hakim Ajmal
Khan established a research
Centre in Tibbia College, Delhi.
• Hakim Kabiruddin was one of the
selected researchers by Hakim
Ajmal Khan for this institute.
15. In “Government Tibbi School, Patna"
• At the same time, the first Government
Unani medical institute of united India
“Government Tibbi School, Patna" was
established on 29th July 1926. For the
selection of teacher and principal for this
institute, a three members committee was
constituted by the Government of Bihar
& Orissa, Hakim Kabiruddin was one of
the members
16. His rusticated from Tibbia College
• In 1932, after a student movement in
college, Hakim Kabiruddin and two other
Hakim Ilyas Khan and Hakim Fazlur
Rehman were rusticated from Tibbia
College, Delhi.
• The allegation imposed on them was to
instigate the students for agitation.
17. Jamia Tibbiya, Karolbagh, Delhi
• His rustication was unfortunate for Tibbia
College but fortunate for the Unani
system that a new Unani medical institute
named “Jamia Tibbiya, Karolbagh,
Delhi” was founded by the combined
effort of these three scholars in 1935.
• Today this institute is called Jamia
Hamdard Faculty of Medicine (Unani)
18. Nizamia Tibbia College, Hyderabad
• In 1937, The Nizam of Hyderabad
decided to upgrade the 'Madarsa Tibbi'
(1891) into an Unani medical college.
For this purpose, the Nizam invited
Hakim Kabiruddin and he was selected
as a Vice Principal of Nizamia Tibbia
College, Hyderabad. He also compiled
and translated the medical syllabus of
Jamia Usmania, Hyderabad.
19. Daftar al-Masih
• He served this institute from 1939
to 1947, during this period he
continued the activity of
‘Daftar al-Masih’.
The office of this organization was
at Noorul Amrah Market in
Hyderabad.
20. Shahanshah-e-Tasnifaat
• The Nizam of Hyderabad was
highly impressed with Hakim
Kabiruddin. Hence, He was
honored with the title of
‘Shahanshah-e-Tasnifaat’
(Emperor of Compilations) by
Nizam of Hyderabad
21. Contributed 80 books
• Hakim Fakhrae Alam mentioned
in his book “Urdu Tibbi
Mutarajjimin” that Hakim
Kabiruddin authored, translated,
and edited about 80 books.
22. Chief guest in GTCH, Patna
• On 25th March 1952, he was
invited as a chief guest in the
convocation event of Government
Tibbi College, Patna in his native
state Bihar.
23. AKTC, Aligarh
• In 1957, he joined Ajmal Khan
Tibbiya College, AMU, Aligarh as
Reader.
24. All India Unani Tibbi Conference
• From 1939 to 1955, several times
he chaired the All India Unani
Tibbi Conference as president.
25. Hakim Kabiruddin Academy, Patna
• In 1990, Hakim Kabiruddin
Academy was established by the
combined effort of hakim
Qamruzzama Qamar and Hakim
Mohammad Zeyauddin (Former
principal GTCH, Patna) in his
humble homage
26. Hakim Mohd. Kabiruddin
• On the 30th August 2019, the
Honourable Prime Minister of India,
Mr. Narendra Modi released the
commemorative stamps on 12 modern
Master Healers of AYUSH. Hakim
Kabiruddin is one of these Master
Healers of AYUSH systems.
27. Death
• Hakim Mohammad Kabiruddin
passed away on 9th January 1976,
due to respiratory disorder at the
age of 82 years in Delhi
