food for millions. Also, currently in the Middle East wheat production is being slowed and
stifled from the depletion of fossil water from over pumped aquifers. Aquifers are not the only
water resource under strain. Rivers are being over pumped for irrigation in agriculture.
Agriculture demand for fresh water is estimated to take up 70% of all fresh water consumption.

Girls and boys both grow up being socialized on what is normal and unusual for their gender. At
a young age they are given the idea of what is expected of them based on whether they are male
or female. Toys are a prominent factor in this socialization, because they are typically presented for
one gender and are unacceptable for the other. To assess how toys playa role in gender socialization,
I made a trip to Toys R Us in College Station and surprisingly found that the gender beliefs have
changed quite a bit since I was a child in the late 90s to early 2000s. The first thing that went
through my mind when walking into the store was to look for the Girls and Boys signs that
would indicate to me which section was for which gender. There weren t any signs though! Toys

On October 21, 2017, I was able to observe Claire Marcus for my Life Span Development class.
This observation allowed me observe the physical and cognitive changes children experience. It

and literature as a desolate arid landscape of mountains and deserts. The story or movie backdrop
was usually set in America s colonial era and often included small frontier towns with saloons, the
local jail, and ranches on the outskirts of town. The main characters were ranchers, handsome gun
