Mendes uses the same camera work in both of the dining room scenes in American Beauty to create
tension with the audience and to emphasise characters expressions and emotions to the viewers,
leaving us in no doubt what each character is feeling. This allows the audience to understand each
character more effectively and as a result, it challenges us to think about how we might feel in the
same situation. A scene, in American Beauty, that Mendes uses effective camera work to enhance the
audiences view of the characters is the dining room scene that features Lester, his wife Caroline and

Communication and crisis paper:
When working in a hospital, setting whether it s an emergency room, or management office, there s
going to be a time when you are going to experience some kind of face to face crisis, according to
(Coombs, 1999) simply stated no organization is immune to crisis. A crisis can raise inside or outside
the organization and according to Reynolds (2006) the moment it occurs, lives may be at risk and the
reputation of the organization are at risk. When this happens it involves communication or

In fact Penrose (2000) found that while large companies with ample financial resources may have a
chance of survival following a crisis without a crisis plan, 80 percent of smaller lesser known
companies without a comprehensive crisis plan vanish within two years of suffering a major disaster.
My approach is to develop the best crisis approach through communication. Crisis communication
usually has a variety of goals some of which conflict but the most important and universal it to reduce,
and contain harm. My next step is calling all organization so they can identify the hazard they face,
my first phone call would be the (MDCH) Michigan health community department, and then
hopefully they will contact the (American Biological Safety Association). When a crisis began to brew
as a communicator and a leader I wonder when to ask for help from the outside for instance public
relations agency which might be beneficial to keep the problem from completely overwhelming the
organization. This is why I have developed relationship with an agency in case I need them in
emergency like this. Potential advantages and challenges associated with communicating within the
organization and with the public and private sectors during this crisis situation.

Fourth Amendment 4th Amendment
The 4th amendment, search and seizure causes a lot of problems. Search and Seizure is the rights that
police have when they enter in a home. The standard for conducting a warrantless search, probable
cause, is the same standard necessary for a warrant to issue. An illegal search or illegal seizure is a
violation of your Fourth Amendment rights, and any evidence seized must be excluded from trial.
Normally police need a search warrant to enter into a home unless they get the consent to enter in the

Although commonly referred to as the automobile exception, this rule applies to any vehicle,
including boats. While in some ways, it is quite a broad exception, this rule limits the ability to search
those areas that might contain evidence of the type suspected to be present. In other words, if police
suspect that the occupant of a boat is smuggling people across the border, searching a small tackle box
on board would not be permissible. However, if they were looking for drugs, they could search the
tackle box. The rationale is that, if an officer has to take the time to obtain a warrant, the vehicle might
be out of reach before the warrant can be issued and executed. The rationale here is similar to the
automobile exception. Evidence that can be easily moved, destroyed or otherwise made to disappear
before a warrant can be issued may be seized without a warrant. Furthermore, if a suspect enters
private property while being pursued by officers, no warrant is required to enter that property in order

required to seize evidence in plain view if the police are legitimately in the location from which the

Over the past two decades, China has experienced rapid economic growth, which has also brought
about a rise in social and economic inequality. A nation that once operated under the principle of
egalitarianism, China now struggles with a level of inequality that has surpassed most of its East Asia
neighbours. In the 1980 s, poverty was a problem restricted mainly to rural areas, but recently it has
forayed into urban areas as well. Since the mid 1990 s, urban poverty has grown at a very fast pace

The earliest of these attempts was by expanding higher education, which succeeded in matriculation,
but did not provide sufficient stimulus towards consumption as families opted to save for higher
education. The attempt to commercialize the housing market also ended up in a similar scenario, as

A Dream Deferred
The poetry of Langston Hughes, the poet laureate of Harlem, is an effective commentary on the
condition of blacks in America during the 20th Century. Hughes places particular emphasis on
Harlem, a black area in New York that became a destination of many hopeful blacks in the first half of
the 1900ís. In much of Hughes poetry, a theme that runs throughout is that of a dream deferred. The
recurrence of a dream deferred in several Hughes poems paints a clear picture of the disappointment

Beetlejuice Analytical Review
In the movie Beetlejuice, the theme is that the afterlife is not really the end for us all; we live on a
multiple level world between life and death, and need to respect the dead. The theme is idealistic and
not applicable in real life to all people. Throughout the movie, Burton reveals his take on the living
and life after death and the delicate interaction between the two. The character Otho, played by Glenn

Adam swerves the steering wheel while over a bridge to avoid hitting a dog, and as a result the car is
teetering over the edge of the bridge towards the river; the only thing keeping Adam and Barbra from

To be an American during the time of the Revolutionary War had a lot of different meanings to many
different people. To white men it meant freedom. To many people and men specifically it mean that
they wanted to have freedom from Great Britain. To women it mean that you had to do as your

Trigger finger also known as Stenosing Tenosynovitis is a condition that affects the tendons in your
fingers or thumb. It is identified by the inflammation in the synovial sheath of a tendon. This disorder
occurs in people who work jobs where there is a physical strain on the joint of the hands. This strain
may be cause from various occupation the restrict movement of the hands to a small area for a long
period of time. Trigger finger has many treatments such as surgical and injections have been looked
into but the literature has not focused on dietary changes through supplements or food. Over the past
couple of years data has been developing on the effects of dietary fatty acids such as omega 3 on bone
and joint health. Purpose: The objective of this paper is to provide a review of recent literature on the
dietary fatty acid omega 3 and symptoms in trigger finger. This document summarizes the results of

New York City Transportation System

While these (rail agencies) have not expanded their services into Penn Station as much as New Jersey
Transit has, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has studies being worked on to provide such
availabilities with regards to its Metro North Railroad. Two of the aforementioned railroad s lines, the
New Haven and Hudson Line are being looked upon as for having the potential to arrive in Penn
Station rather than terminating into Grand Central Terminal through already existing trackage. The

Hell Gate Line with the possiblity of adding new train station along the way within the vicinities of Co

from Metro North s Hudson Line into Penn Station. Along the line, new rail stations may be
implemented within the vicinities of West 125th and West 62nd Streets in Manhattan s West Side.

East Side Access is completed, allowing LIRR trains to terminate at Grand Central Terminal instead of
Penn Station; rail traffic in the station is high enough as it is to allow for more trains from a fourth

Carlos Cruchaga and his team searched for dementia related genetic variations in some of these
families and Their results were published in 2014 in the journals Nature and Nature Medicine. The
team identified variations in genes called phospholipase D3 (PLD3) and UNC5C that appear to
promote the risk of late onset Alzheimer s disease. The results of what they found inspired them to
keep looking for more. Dr. Cruchaga received his Association grant in 2011 for a study entitled Exome
Sequencing of Late Onset Alzheimer s Disease Families. Dr. Cruchaga selected 14 families to observe
who have inherited Late Onset Alzheimer. His team and him later analyzed the exomes from certain
members of these families, searching for gene variations linked to Alzheimer s.
This process initially identified a variation in PLD3 that was shown to double the risk of Alzheimer s
disease in some cases. Previous research has found that people with Alzheimer s tend to have lower
than normal levels of the PLD3 protein in their brains. This finding indicates that PLD3 may protect
the brain against Alzheimer s like changes.
In 2005 there were various report on gene therapy trials delayed disease progression. It wasn t a
successful cure, but the results were promising enough which triggered further research in that area.

almost always play this rhythm on the second and fourth beats of the measure. The backbeat gives

In life, people see different meanings to the same events based on their perspective. In the same way,
authors place symbols in a book to intensify the characters emotions and further the plot. Nathaniel
Hawthorne uses symbols in The Scarlet Letter such as the color red, sunshine, and various characters,
such as Chillingworth, Hester, and Pearl. Red is a color that can represent passion, sensitivity, or
power. Throughout the novel, the color red represents all of these descriptions. Hawthorne creates red
objects such as the rosebush, the letter A, and a meteor. The rosebush, as described by the author,
...symbolizes some sweet moral blossom, that may be found along the track, or relieve the darkening
close of a tale of human frailty and sorrow, (Hawthorne 34). Being at the door of a dark prison, the
rosebush stands in contrast to the prison, a place of suffering and shame, and instead gives joy to all
who pass by. This symbol foreshadows Hester s future lifestyle and helps develop her character
throughout the story.
A similar theme of red is shown in the scarlet letter. The Puritans shame Hester by forcing her to wear

You wake up in the middle of the night to your child screaming. It s 4 in the morning and you have
school at 8:45 the next morning. That s the life of a teenage mom, and to many who think it s not real,
it is. Teenage pregnancy is still a very real occurrence in America and there are more than 200,000
babies born each year to teenage moms. Due to the amount of babies born to girls under the age of 19,
parenting classes should be a required class in high schools. This parenting class could teach girls the
importance of safe sex, how much it costs to raise a baby and also show how much your life can
change when you have a child. Parenting classes could teach the importance of safe sex to teenage
girls. Many girls in high school take the risk of unprotected sex and to understand this issue we need
to look at the statistics. According to www.dosomething.org, 90% of teenage girls who have
unprotected sex end up pregnant within just one year. Also according to www.betterhealth.org, 51% of
females are sexually active before they get medication contraceptive prescribed by a doctor. 40% of

There are a lot of things to consider when designing the layout of a toddler classroom. It is very
important to create an environment that is geared toward the proper developmental stage in order for
young children to get the most out their classroom. Children in the preoperational stage (2 yrs. 7 yrs.)
need a wide variety of hands on activities to promote development. Using Jean Piaget s Theory of
Cognitive development to design a classroom will give toddlers a wide range of activities to gain a
strong foundation for learning.

something similar to help the students define their assigned group. For rotating centers each group will
play in once center for a designated period of time; then switch centers.
Each center designed is to engage a different aspect of child development. The large floor rug is

African Americans came as a new people upon their arrival to America, and many of them were
forcefully removed from their previous lives and traditions. African slave culture today is closely
associated with voodoo rituals and bizarre dances, but there is much more to their fascinating culture

The King and I takes place in Bangkok, Siam in the year 1862; after a recently widowed English
schoolteacher, Anna Leonowens, and her son, Louis, move there to give the King of Siam s children

Anna struggles with the king because their cultural beliefs are so different, but the conflict diminishes
after the king finds out that Britain would like to take over Siam. He calls upon Anna to help him look

The main issue that should first be outlined is that it can be argued that the Human Rights Act causes
an imbalance. The Act favours the judiciary over both the executive and the legislature as it gives the

grandest, safest, and most technologically advanced ship during her time. Her designers and engineers
set out to build a class of ocean liners that could compete against White Star Line s rival company,
Cunard. However, when Titanic, the second of her sister ships sunk on her maiden voyage, it shook
the world and it had a major impact on the world and its people. One of the main effects was the effect
on safety regulations. Titanic only carried enough lifeboats to sustain roughly half of the passengers
and crew on board. At the time, Titanic actually exceeded the amount of the lifeboats required by the
British Board of Trade regulations by 10 percent.
Although there was room on deck for twice as many lifeboats, the Titanic carried lifeboats for just
over half of the passengers and crew on board. The designer of the Titanic had allowed room on deck
for two rows of lifeboats, but one row was removed before the voyage began to make the deck more
aesthetically pleasing [Rogers and others, 1998]. With outdated British Board of Trade regulations, the

the way in which it was written. To me it was written in a very scattered brain way, similar to how a
hyperactive childs diary would look like. At times when Dettwyler was trying to explain something,
she would go into tangents, mostly about her own personal opinions of the topic, which ruined the
mood of the book, lessened the impact of whatever she was talking about at the time and frankly, it
just annoyed me. I found it difficult to understand what was trying to be said and it made it difficult to
read. I think if she didn t try to cover so much in such a small book malnutrition, female circumcision
and other random topics I would have enjoyed it more. One thing that I did like was how she wasn t
political on her trips to Mali, she just talked to people. She didn t preach just talk and I think that s
what helped improve these people s lives. It was interesting but I wouldn t read it again or recommend
it like I did for the Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down. Main Points: Though Dettwyler was
scatterbrained, I did recognize some of her main points for writing this book. Her main points were to
show the importance of nutritional health and how there are many ways to help people and the best
way to achieve this was to take a holistic approach and proper education. When the CARE
