Policing And Anti-Plagiarism
Why Electronic Policing and Anti Plagiarism Software Should Be Used
College and high school students today have access to a vast amount of information on the internet.
We are no longer limited to the books in the library or outdated encyclopedias for research.
Information is in abundance and at our fingertips. Because of this, students find themselves easily
falling into plagiarism, copying and pasting data without properly citing sources. Some students
may pay to have their essay or research paper written for them. Therefore, it is good to have
students work checked by anti plagiarism software because of advanced technology and ease of
accessibility, the lowering of moral and ethical values of some students, and the basic lack of
knowledge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plagiarism has become a serious problem among high school and college students. A lot of this
could be that the attitudes and moral values of students have changed and a high percentage of
students do not worry about being caught. In a recent survey, it is reported that at least 28% of
students do not worry about the potential consequences of plagiarism ( Survey Reveals Unique
Insights to US Students Attitudes Towards Plagiarism ). Some students often claim they did not
know they were doing anything wrong, especially those who claimed to speak a language other
than English (Cross). Of course, with the endless amount of information available on the internet, a
student can easily educate themselves on the proper way to cite an essay. If a student does not
choose good morals and ethics when writing essays, the battle for plagiarism will continue. To
avoid further risk of detection, students will also use paid services that write essays. Even though
this method is hard to detect, a good teacher can notice changes in a student s writing style, which
will send a red flag (Cross). If students continue to lower their moral and ethical values, universities
will increase technology to detect plagiarism. Students should learn to write their own content and
develop their skills. Anti plagiarism software will help deter students from copying from others
work without citing (Graham Matheson and

Silent Movies In The 1920 s
In cinema s early days, the film industry was based in New York, the nation s theatrical center.
Most movies were being filmed in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, and Florida. However, by
the 1920 s, southern California had become the leading film capital due to its cheap land and
labor. Films gained their popularity after Vaudeville actors striked in 1901. This left theaters
scrambling for acts and films became the main event. Silent films were widely popular in the
early 1920 s and were usually accompanied by live piano or organ music. Talking pictures were
first introduced in 1923, but did not become popular until 1927. The first Nickelodeon was
introduced in 1905 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nickelodeons, named after their cost and the
Greek word for theater, soon spread across the country. These storefront theaters remained the
prime outlet for movies among the lower and middle class. The upper class began to flock to
more modern theaters called Picture Palaces. Picture Palaces reached their peaks in the 1920 s and
died out when the Great Depression hit in the 1930 s. These theaters were much larger than most
theaters today and offered a wide range of features such as, extravagant lobbies, neatly dressed
ushers, and live music. During... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Occasionally there would be subtitles of dialogue, but they were often short to ensure that audience
would not be distracted. Live music played a large role in silent films and conveying the emotions
to the audience. One ruinous aspect of the transition from silent films to sound films is the actors
lack to transition with them. Important silent film stars such as Clara Bow and Rudolph Valentino
faded away with silent films. However, stars like Charlie Chaplin and Lionel Barrymore were able
to make a successful transition from silent to sound, and continued their strong acting

The War Of The British Army
In 1775, America attacked its Mother Country in war. But Why? The Prime Minister of England,
George Grenville, issued many laws that taxed the colonist for almost everything they bought or
sold. The pastors and speakers of this era saw that they were being treated unfairly by their Mother
Country and took a stand against it. These men of God spoke out against mistreatment and the
unjust laws that had been placed on them. But how significant was the impact made by pastors and
speakers on the people that heard their messages? If we look at history, we see ragtag groups of
patriots fighting the British Armyin what seems like an unfair fight. What inspired these men to
stand and fight? I believe it was the influence of pastors and speakers... Show more content on

After he heard about the battles fought at Lexington, he gave a sermon about times to preach and
times to fight. He then took off his robe to reveal a Continental Army uniform. He went on to
fight in the battles of Brandywine, Monmouth, and Yorktown. He was eventually promoted to
major general for his heroics in battle, and he served under George Washington. His gravestone
reads, He was Brave in the field, Faithful in the Cabinet, Honorable in all his transactions, a
Sincere Friend, and an Honest Man. Jonas Clark was the pastor of the Church of Lexington. He
was warned by Dr. Joseph Warren that British troops were coming to arrest John Hancock and
Samuel Adams, who were staying in his home. Clark told the people in his church to get ready to
fight, and roughly 150 to 200 men with muskets stood at Lexington Green. When the 800 hundred
British troops entered the Green, both sides exchanged shots. Eight colonists died immediately,
and the ragtag army fired from behind cover. Some of Clark s men escorted John Hancock and
Sam Adams away from the battle, saving their lives. James Caldwell was the pastor of a
Presbyterian Church in Elizabethtown, New Jersey. In the battle of Springfield, he yelled, Give em

How To Regulate Alcohol And Tobacco Advertising
Alcohol and tobacco advertising is not a new concept to this world. Alcohol and tobacco
advertising has been going on since the mid 1900 s. During this time, alcohol and tobacco ads
were on the TV almost as much as regular programs (Danna). This source is credible because the
author has written many articles for the Chicago Tribune before. When alcohol and tobacco
advertisingfirst started they actually argued that smoking and drinking was beneficial for the
human body. Since then, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau and many other
departments have tried to put in laws and acts to help regulate the advertisement of alcohol and
tobacco. For example, laws such as the Federal Cigarette Labeling and AdvertisingAct of 1965 , and

actions when it comes to helping the regulation of advertising alcohol and tobacco products.
These are the reasons why the government should try to maybe add a few more stricter laws to
help regulate the advertising of alcohol and tobacco in The United States of America. This is
because it is really starting to show the effects that it has on the kids when they re younger because

laws that the gambling services have to abide by and are put in place so the gambling companies
do not exploit customers. In the present global economy some laws may restrict companies, which
in turn could lead to decreasing profits. In an attempt to cut costs Ladbrokes moved their online

The recession was a major economic factor that saw Ladbrokes sales fall by 28%. The recession

give up no matter what the circumstances. The artists are saying that you shouldn t let anyone or

hyperboles and personification. The theme of never giving up is shown with hyperboles and
personification. Starting off with Cause I m on top of the world . Cause I m on top of the
world would be a hyperbole because you can t actually be on top of the world. What Imagine
Dragons are trying to say is that if you keep pushing to reach your goal and eventually achieve it.
Once you achieve that goal you might feel like you are on top of the world. Secondly, Life

ABSTRACT
Corporate social responsibility is a concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental
concerns in their business activities and in interaction with their stakeholders on a voluntary basis.
In this global context, voluntary social and environmental practices of business, going beyond
companies existing legal obligations, can play a major role in filling the governance gap in an
innovative way. The sector is characterized by controls across the entire value chain of sugar
production and sale, which not only hampers its efficiency but also exacerbates the cyclicality in
sugar and sugarcane production. The growth and development in sugar sector in the country in
general and in the state of Uttar Pradesh in particular has multiple linkages with social, economic
and environmental issues. The purpose of this study is to conduct a triple bottom line assessment of
sugarcane value chain and suggest alternatives that could improve the current sustainable practices
of CSR across various stakeholders.

Wild, By Jean Marc Vallee
The 2014 film Wild, directed by Jean Marc Vallee, chronicles the journey and transformation of
Cheryl Strayed as she hikes the Pacific Crest Trail. After the death of her mother, Cheryl begins
to behave recklessly, engaging in sex with strangers and becoming a heroin addict. This takes her
down a dark and destructive path that ruins her marriage. Following the divorce of her and her
husband, Cheryl makes a rash decision to take a 3 month hike from the Mexico border to the
Canada border, in search for a new life and healing. Completely inexperienced and naГЇve, Cheryl
faces many challenges on this journey, but also encounters generous people who help her along
the way. There are instances where Cheryl struggles greatly, such as suffering from dehydration,
encountering a rattlesnake and even facing predatory men. However, there are also times of
happiness and triumph, such as when Cheryl takes her short break in Ashland and her pleasant
encounter with a young boy and his grandmother. As Cheryl tries to survive in the wilderness,
she struggles internally as well, battling her inner demons and having flashbacks of her abusive
childhood and the loss of her mother. Through all of this, nevertheless, Cheryl was undeniably
transformed and was able to have a fresh start. Cheryl states at the end of the movie, After I lost
myself in the wilderness of my grief, I found my own way out of the woods. And indeed she did.
After completing the hike, Cheryl began to live a healthy and

Disadvantages Of Sexual Harassment
Think about having to be forced or coerced to demeaning and misappropriate conduct day in and
out because you fear losing your job or being demoted to a less desirable position. Focus on how
many victims of sexual harassment underwent calling out sick so that they would not have to be
manipulated into doing acts that were degrading and immoral with someone they believed they
could trust, like their supervisor. Moreover, walking into an atmosphere where work is not fun, but
stressful and causes you much anguish and dissatisfaction, only because you are having to undergo
much discomfort and shameful acts. Further, think about the thought of walking into your office
everyday in anxiety and fear because you need your job and want your job. However, but you did
not ask for the unwelcome sexual gestures, inappropriate touching, pressure to perform certain
unlawful duties or be given stipulations such as do as you are told and instructed or be terminated.
All the more, this is what many of the past case victims were accustomed to and subjected to each
day while in the workplace. Consequently, this is what many victims of sexual harassmentendure
each day because they are too afraid to stand up and say anything to anyone because of fear of not
being believed, afraid of losing their jobs, or generally because they were not sure what could be
done.
Even before sexual harassment and retaliation become widely known terms it was very much
present and prevalent in many organizations.

Tis the season in this dystopia, controlled by pitiless bureaucrats and synergetic police. Terry
Gilliam s Brazil depicts a retro futuristic setting dominated by a relentless totalitarian system. The
setting of Brazil takes place during Christmas in an urban region that is never characterized by
name but by its contents. The civilization presented in the film is distasteful, naive, lifeless, and
overseen. Uninspiring infrastructure, apathetic socializations, and lack of sanctuaries illustrates this
society and it seems to be an intended tactic by its government. Bulky grey ducts surround the

Observation can be made on a macro and micro scale, as behavior of a large group can affect the
behavior of individuals (Merton, 1938). In Brazil, society is regulated and positioned a certain
way that satisfies its government. Reaching a desirable achieved status seems hard to
accomplish and only possible if conformed to the Ministry s regime. Sam, however, was offered
a promotion by the master status himself, Mr. Helpmann. Seemingly, Sam s promotion offer was
possible because of his ascribed status being the son of Mr. Helpmann s former co worker and
his power hungry mother s connection with the Ministry. The social institution in the world of
Brazil is centralized to abide the Ministry, who targets society to be uniformed and consumers.
Considering the Consumers for Christ signs and the girls who wishes to Santa for her own credit
card , there is an encompassing feeling of consumerism that citizens believe as holy. Displays of
Tönnies Gesellschaft are frequent, as social control must rest on more formal techniques, such as
laws and legally defined punishments (Schaefer, 2013). Behaviors of the people are carried with
the subconscious awareness of the Ministry, hence the lack of individualism and expectation of
carrying out usual social roles and norms. Any employee of the Ministry of Information is

Management and Operations Management Theory
ABSTRACT
This paper defines the four functions of management and the operations management theory. It then
provides an analysis of how the functions of management the operations management.
THE FOUR FUNCTIONS OF MANAGEMENT
Planning: It is an act of formulating a program for a definitive course of action. The management
defines a goal and puts forward its strategies to accomplish the objectives defined.
Organizing: To divide the work force into specific groups and giving each group a specific task.
Organizing also involves ensuring that a smooth flow of information and co ordination exists
between these groups. Thus the basic aim of organizing is to simply divide the work load and

IMPACT OF MANAGEMENT FUNCTION ON OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
This section analyses the impact that the previously discussed functions of management has on the
operations management.
Planning is the most important pillar of operations management. When an organization plans its
goals and sets down its strategies, it then becomes easier for the managerial level to decide and
distribute the work load. Without any plan of action, the organization or company would not know
what it is working towards. For a manufacturing company, planning would include product design.
For work to be conducted on the principles of operations management, organizing plays an
important role. Workload needs to be divided in such an efficient manner that the skills of an
employee or a group of employees are used to the fullest. Overloading any employee would result in
deficient outputs and derogatory work which would naturally be time consuming.
As the goal of organizing is to produce better results, similarly leading or motivating is necessary
for an organization to extract maximum performance out of the workers. With appealing incentives,
workers would work honestly and put in their best. This in turn would save the company time and
there would be a complete control of the managerial department over things like production control
and quality control. When an employee is

What Is The Ideology Of True Love In Romeo And Juliet
William Shakespeare was a playwright and author in the 16th and 17th centuries, with at least 37
plays and 154 sonnets to his name. His many works span in genre and form, from the tragedy of
Romeo and Juliet to the poem of a father s unconditional love and eventual acceptance of a loved
one s death. Through a vast variety of linguistic and structural techniques, he is able to promote,
develop and explain his personal ideology of love. Evidence of this is seen through the character of
Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and the narrative voice in a selection of sonnets.
Within sonnet 116, Shakespeare personifies the abstract noun of love when he states Whose worth s
unknown . Through personifying his ideology of true love, it makes it increasingly ... Show more

Through isolating that line, it not only emphasises its importance as a statement, with summer
being a metaphor for his son, and thus showing pure paternal love; but also the importance of
the new tone, pride. The word But , although with negative connotations, is used to positively
emphasise the importance of the new phase of acceptance of his son s death, and the
continuation of his paternal love. It is through this line that Shakespeare goes on to explain how
his love for his son will never diminish, as it is immortalised, along with his son, in the poem.
This is the act of creating an autotelic memorial in that the poem will never fade away, ever
when the writer dies. Due to this, Shakespeare is able to show that his concept of love, no matter
what form it is in, is so strong and true that it is infinite and can overcome all obstacles, even
death itself. To a 16th century reader, the concept of love taking many forms and overcoming even
death was unconventional, as it contrasted greatly to the accepted ideal of courtly love, which was
limited and weak. To a modern day reader, whose greatest fear is death; being told love overcomes
death reassures them of its strength. This promotes Shakespeare s ideology, especially through
contrast in the

Book Review: Killer Angels
The novel Killer Angels by Michael Shaara portrays the battle of Gettysburg in all of its glory
from the perspective of both the Union and the Confederate soldiers. He told the story of the
battle day by day, switching from General to General, and showing an immense amount of insight
and research to how things most likely occurred during the heat of battle in July of 1863. Not only
did Shaara display various viewpoints of the battle, he did it in a convincing style.
Killer Angels was written not as a work of non fiction but rather as a historical fiction, in which
literary license and research was used to put the reader into the mind of all of the main leaders of
the Battle of Gettysburg. At the time of the publishing of this novel, Shaara s idea of humanizing
all of the leaders was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, on the Confederate side, he shows how an ailing and weary Robert E. Lee has
pinned his hopes to end the war on the idea of attacking and destroying the Union army on it s own
ground. Shaara depicted Lee s top general, James Longstreet, as being against the invasion because
he believed the South s military success had come from a defensive style of warfare. This idea that
Longstreet was apprehensive about the attack is an interesting perspective that deepens the struggle
of Lee in the battle. As they advance into Pennsylvania, Shaara ties his new idea together with the
known fact that the Confederates had been left with a dangerous lack of information about Union
movements. This is due to cavalry officer J.E.B. Stuart failing to provide them with reports from
his scouting mission. Shaara s perspective on Longstreet does a lot to aid his reputation after he
was scapegoated in the aftermath of the war by the defeated Confederate

However, the educational system has changed to make it harder to receive an education almost

problem is compounded when families expect multiple children to attend college. America s

Archetypes In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
Archetypes reveal something of wherever or whomever they came from, and these can be
significant cultural values of that area or civilization. Most religious stories and mythologies have
some sort of similar root, some sort of global archetypes. Maynard James Keenan. The Ancient
Middle East have cultural values that are reflected in their stories. These cultural values are
comparative and can be used to connect civilizations like Egypt and Mesopotamia with one another.
The use of archetypes in Gilgamesh, Adoration of the Disk, and Genesis reveal the comparative
cultural values in the Ancient Middle East by identifying certain beliefs and ideas that the
Egyptians and Mesopotamians valued regarding their religion.

In Gilgamesh, Genesis and Adoration of the Disk, the archetype of the bird represents migration
and transformation. In Gilgamesh, there are three birds sent out in The Story of the Flood, a
raven, dove and swallow. All but the raven returns, in the Sumerian ancient epic of Gilgamesh,
as She saw the waters had retreated, she ate, she flew around, she cawed, and she did not come
back (42 43). This bird represents the negative of life, as hopelessness is present in the world. This
contrasts the flood story in Genesis where the dove that is sent out returns back after finding land.
This is not hopelessness, but the positivity of the returned hope after the flood. Adoration of the
Disk by Akhenaten uses chicks Whose breath is thine ... chirping its joy, And dancing on its small,

Comparison Of Halloween And Dia De Los Muertos
Halloween and Dia de los Muertos are very interesting holidays in there own different ways.
Halloween and Day of the Dead can be similar but on the bottom line they are very different by
the way they decorate, what they eat, and how they celebrate the holidays. The two holidays may
seem similar at first but after understanding the complexity of the ideas behind both holidays
actions, your opinion can change. For example during Halloween some kids might go trick or

with people who have passed on and a famous sauce they would eat is mole sauce which is like a

Mole sauce is also a big part of the holiday along with the drink of the holiday which is atole.
Atole is a hot thick drink made from maize, it gives energy to the dead souls. During the Day of
the Dead holiday, families would have picnics with their incense at their grave sites to respect them
and have one last meal with the people they loved. The Day of the Dead has a thought out meal
plan during the holiday but Halloween just has candy, pumpkins, and other famous sweets like
candy corn.
Halloween and Dia de los Muertos have different ways to celebrate their holidays. First of all
Halloween is only one day while the Day of the Dead is actually three days. Halloween takes
place on October 31st which at night is when people trick or treat. The reason by trick or treating
is from an old story that was told that you should go to house to house asking for goods to scare
away the bad souls which started reflecting on all the scary decorations during the holiday. While
the Day of the Dead is October 31st November 2nd which all the days reflect on the people who
passed on and to celebrate life. People respect and have a meal at their incense grave sites with the
souls that are good and that are now passed on to a better place.
Halloween and Dia de los Muertos are similar but very different in the ways they, decorate, eat,
and the way they celebrate. These two holidays are very interesting and can be seen as similar

the water issue for Aboriginal people, for now, 80 Aboriginal communities are under, boiled water
advisories and 21 of those communities have a high risk of contaminated water otherwise known as
polluted water. The Canadian government apologized to the Aboriginals, but that apology only
addressed the residential schools and ignored all the times they raided and broke the Canadian
Constitution of 1982. Another problem for them is the poor houses, an example is the Attawapiskat

Sun Tzu, Napoleon Bonaparte And Stonewall
This source is a magazine article on Sun Tzu, Napoleon Bonaparte and Thomas Jonathan
Stonewall Jackson similar battle techniques that I found on the database History Reference. All
three of the commanders mentioned were ingenious, and this article discusses the tactics they
employed: celerity (speed/swiftness), shaping the enemy, and exploiting victory. Despite the
genius of all three commanders this article provided, I only focused on one, Napoleon Bonaparte,
because he is my person of eminence. Napoleon highly valued time and believed the loss of it
irreparable in war. He used celerity to gain the advantage of surprise. For example, a rapid flanking
march toppled much of the allied forces command structure at Ulm, Germany, in October

Similarities Between Islam And Mormonism
Islam and Mormonism
Islam and Mormonism are two monotheistic religions whose origins go back to Abraham, but were
founded within the last 1500 years. There are many similarities between the religions, and of
course, many differences.
The Qur an is the sacred text of Islam. Muslims believe that Muhammad, at twenty three years of
age, received revelation from God over the next twenty three years through the angel Gabriel.
Muslims view the Qur an as God s final revelation and would not accept any other revelations.
They believe that Muhammad was the final prophet. For most Muslims, the Qur an is only really
the sacred word of God if it is in Arabic. Muslims believe that the current Qur an is exactly the
same as what was revealed to Muhammad ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Mormonism, there is something similar to the Five Pillars of Islam in that they have a list of
beliefs that they see as their main or most important beliefs which are listed in the Thirteen
Articles of Faith. The most important of those articles of faith would be Mormonism s version
of the Five Pillars of Islam. The first article of faith is probably the most important one: that we
believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. The
next Pillar of Mormonism would be the second article of faith in my opinion: that we believe
that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam s transgression. The next Pillar
of Mormonism would be the third article of faith:that we believe that through the Atonement of
Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. The
next and in my opinion, the most important of all our articles of faith is the fourth one: that we
believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus
Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth,
Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. You could also break that article of faith up
and say that the four ordinances and principles listed in the fourth article of faith are four of the
Pillars of Mormonism . The last Pillar of Mormonism would be that we believe the Bible to be
the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the
word of God. This is important because it sets us apart from other religions, especially other
Christian religions. There are many beliefs in Mormonism and many beliefs in Islam, and just as
the Five Pillars of Islam outline the most important beliefs of Islamic belief, the Thirteen Articles of
Faith outline the most important and basic beliefs of Mormonism. The Five Pillars of

Examples Of A Watchman
There is scarcely a person on earth that is so free of the foibles of man that he can assert with
biblical certainty that he has never been guilty of contradiction. Life itself, indeed God s own
providence is full of contradiction; for the very rain that gives life also gives death and the very
sunshine that warms and enervates also scorches and eviscerates. So who are we to point our
finger at someone and heap opprobrium on his head when he spews forth a bundle of
contradictions masquerading as impeccable logic and good sense?
Watchmen, that s who.
To be a watchman means to tell it as you see it, to sound a clear alarm so that people know what s
happening and to put aside your own preferences where those preferences are not underpinned by ...

If two centenarians are Christians and both die on his hundredth birthday, one was serving God
faithfully for ninety years and the other became a Christian the day before he died, then be assured
that God will welcome them both into heaven. There is absolutely nothing unfair or unjust about
this.
The length of time you serve God has nothing to do with the gift of eternal life (same as going to
heaven) for no one has ever earned or will ever merit eternal life which is based solely on the
acceptance of Jesus Christ through faith in his redemptive work on the cross of Calvary. Because
salvation is never by merit it therefore does not matter how long or short a time you have been
serving the Lord. In all scripture there is one outstanding example of this principle and it is
found in Matthew 20:1 16. In this scripture you can see that the workers who started to work at
5pm got the same wages as those who started at 6am bright and early. The powerful point to
observe in all this is that each received what was promised and nobody was cheated. God has made
this promise, ...that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John
3:16) and he never fails to honour it.

Evaluation Of The Performance Appraisal
Performance appraisals are used in business today as a means of providing critical feedback to
employees on their performance in the workplace. In a global environment, particular care needs
to be exercised to ensure the message delivered and received by employees is sensitive to the
cultural differences between the parties. This document will be discussing a situation where
unintended consequences arose during a performance appraisal. The document will provide for a
synopsis of the case study, background information, and some of the strengths and weaknesses of
the performance appraisal. A review of if the situation could have been avoided and should the
supervisor have anticipated the employee reaction will also be discussed. Finally, a review of culture
sensitivity in performance evaluations will be analyzed and to determine if the interaction style
between the parties was the reason for the ultimate outcome.

Revenge of Medea
Medea was such a different woman and people in her society were afraid of her, including men.
As a result of this, before Jason, she never experienced being in love. When she finally experienced
this type of love she went to no end for Jason. To protect Jason and her love for him she killed the
beast guarding the Golden Fleece, she killed her brother, and she left her home, family and
everything she knew for him. Most women would not have gone that far for love, especially
women during her time; but Medea was not your average woman. All of the things she did for
Jason. But start when Jason betray her, all the bad feeling coming.

Being a stranger is hard and when your love one betray is harder. She also said to the woman of
the Corinth, You have this city, your father s home. I m alone; I have no city; now my husband
insults me. (Pg. 25, line. 5 8). She said her family gone and she does not have anyone to lean on.
The only person she has was her husband but now her husband going to leave her and marry
another woman. She had betrayed her father because of Jason. She did everything for Jason. So
she does not have family to return. This is very emotional because when we feel sad, we just
need someone to talk to or someone who with us to encourage us. But Medea was in another
country with different culture and believes. She said in the country where she from if a man
grows tired of the company at home, he can go out, and find a cure for tediousness. We wives are
forced to look to one man only. (pg. 24, line. 30 32). For her she rather die instead of seeing her
husband leaving her and she wants only her husband to her and no other woman between her and
Jason.
This is what Medea said to the woman of Corinth If I can find a way to work revenge on Jason for
his wrongs to me, say nothing. (Pg. 25, line 11 13). She said that because he s the only person
she has and she has no one to help her and no justices to help her. And if Jason leaves her she has
no one to return to. It is very easy to agree

The Movie Rain Man By Raymond Babbit
Introduction In the movie Rain Man, Raymond Babbit is portrayed by actor, Dustin Hoffman.
Raymond Babbit is a patient of the Walbrook Institute where he was placed at a young age.
Raymond is diagnosed with Savants Syndrome. In Raymond s case, he functions at an
impressively high level (Inc., 2004). Savant syndrome is diagnosed when an individual performs
basic cognitive processes below what is deemed as normal. However these individuals exhibit
exceptional abilities in certain areas. In the case of Raymond Babbit, his memory was exemplary.
The character Raymond Babbit, was based on a man named Laurence Kim Peek. Although Mr.
Peek lived his life with Savant Syndrome, he was not autistic. After receiving an MRI, doctors
discover that Mr. Peek lacked the corpus callosum, the anterior commissure, and the hippocampal
commissure (Brogaard, 2013). This is also acknowledged as split brain. These three parts of the
brain belong to the neurological system of the brain and transfers information from the right and
left hemisphere. This is the reason that Mr. Peek possessed the ability to both read pages of a book
and absorb the information simultaneously. Genetics, infections, and intoxication during pregnancy
are all factors that can affect the corpus callosum (Brogaard, 2013). According to Jung s Cognitive
Theory, Savants would be classified as Introverted in all categories; sensing, intuiting, thinking, and
feeling. Savants are extremely intelligent, however their social and

Embracing The Dumb Blonde Analysis
In its largest sense, Session on Gender demonstrated opinions on gender, sexuality, and women s
issues. It also showed the intercultural relations that cross national boundaries, cultural relations
within a particular society, and the interactions between female activities such as art and literature.
The first speaker, Krista Aldritch presented the topic Embracing the Dumb Blonde : Navigating
Identity in Anita Loos Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She argued that dumb blonde can actually be
very intellectual and use her look to get what she wants. Krista supported her argument by using
Lorelei Lee, the main character of Anita Loos Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Lorelei Lee s character
reveals what it means to be a woman in 1920s. Krista explained that Loralei Lee uses her dumb
blond persona to succeed and to secure her future by being that desirable image for men.

Overload In Hockey Training
Before assigning a program regime it is important to analyze both the needs of the individual and
the biomechanics of their required movements. When looking at athletes specifically, a coach
should analyze not only the biomechanical and physiological requirements of the athletes but also
how to improve transfer of training. Goals of hockey players often include improving power and
speed of skating stride or increasing accuracy of the wrist shot. The training plan the athlete should
be given to achieve these goals should involve exercises that mimic contraction types, rate of force
production and biomechanics of these movements. Experience of the athlete and the combination
of general and specific training are crucial factors that determine how training will transfer to
performance. Although weight training will increase the amount of force an athlete can provide,
this does not necessarily guarantee an increased performance within their sport. For this reason,
coaches should apply research that is specific to their athletes sport to increase mechanical
specificity, while applying principles of overload and variation. Overload is when a stimulus of
sufficient strength, duration and frequency is applied to an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Ira Aldridge By Lolita Chakrabarti
Ira Aldridge is not a house hold name in the Theatre committee, but it should be. A native New
Yorker who moved to England when he was in his late teens, Ira achieved immense fame in mid
1800 s Europe, mesmerizing people of all nationalities with his renditions of Shakespeare. Since
his death he has become rather obscure, although a dramatization of his life, by Lolita
Chakrabarti, is making its way into theatrical seasons across Europe and the USA. Ira Aldridge is

Competing theatre companies sent thugs and police to harass the Theater during performances
and hired newspapers to print spoofs of African American dialects. Ira worked backstage and
played several roles at The Grove in his late teens and could often be found outside the theatre
after performances participating in brawls with competing actors and police trying to shut down
the Theater. Historian Bernth Lindforths would say this violence foreshadowed the anti
abolitionist riots of 1834, which devastated black homes, churches, and businesses. Ross
speculates that if Ira had stayed in the US, his acting career would definitely have failed. Ira
arrived in London in 1825, eight years before slavery would be abolished in the British Empire.
As Ira toured the British Isles in those eight years, the practice of black face was being
established as a favored sport in the theatre. During Ira s first few years of touring, he s simply

Rapid climate change also ends up on the suspect list of possible dinosaur extinction events. During
the latter part of the Cretaceous Period continents broke up causing volcanoes to erupt and fill the
sky with gas and ash resulting in a drastic climate change ( Dinosaurs Climate Change and
Biodiversity ). The shifting of continents changed the Earth s landscape, altering weather patterns
and overall climate ( DinosaurExtinction Theories ). Also, over a long period of time, climate
gradually changed. Ocean habits changed, temperatures grew much more extreme causing

They say as mammals continued to evolve, they drove the dinosaurs into extinction ( What Killed
the Dinosaurs ). Not only did mammals likely compete with dinosaurs for resources, many species
survived the end Cretaceous extinction and subsequently came to dominate Earth. ( What Killed
the Dinosaurs? ). This is primarily because the early mammals were a lot smaller than the mammals
that exist today. Some of the world s earliest mammals were the multituberculates, a group of small
rodent like animals that first emerged on Earth about 165 million years ago. (Welsh, Jennifer).
Scientists predict that any mass extinction event that caused animals to go extinct affected larger
animals than it did the smaller animals, such as mammals ( Dinosaurs Became Extinct due to
Laying Eggs ). Mammals remained small for almost 100 million years, while they out competed
small and baby dinosaurs for food, shelter and resources until they were extinct. Once the
dinosaurs were out of the way mammals were able to evolve and grow large in size like the
mammals that exist today today (LiveScience). Fossil evidence sheds some light on this theory as
well. Fossils of mammals believed to date back to about eighty five million years ago show that
mammals began to change rapidly and grow. This matches up with other mammal groups,
including recently discovered species from the Late Cretaceous (between 100 million and 65
million years ago) showing highly specialized

Differences Between Softball And Baseball
Softball and baseball are very similar sports. People like to say they are the exact same and
nothing is different between the two. But in reality they have a key factors that make them very
different from each other. Softball and baseball are both played the same way but as you get
deeper into the game you start to see more differences.
Softball is a sport that is played by females. When softball players play in tournaments they are
either timed and those last roughly 71 to 73 minutes a game and if they are not timed then you
play the whole seven innings. The bases are 60 feet apart from each other, the pitcher s mound is
43 feet back from the catcher, and the whole field is around 210 feet. It is common that you see

Baseball players have the choice to either play with wooden or composite bats. Baseball bats are
a lot heavier than softball bats and they are also wider at the end. Baseballs measure between 9
to 9.25 inches in circumference and weigh between 5 to 5.25 ounces. Baseball pitchers have
many different types of pitches as well, some examples are Fastballs: Four seam, Two seam,
Cutter, Splitter, and Forkball. Breaking Balls: Curveball, Slider, Slurve, and Screwball.
Changeups: Changeup, Palmball, and Circle Changeup. Similarities for softball and baseball
are that they both are played in very similar ways. You walk up to home plate with a bat and
stand in front of home plate and your goal is to hit the ball and get on base. Four balls and you
get walked and three strikes means you strikeout and go back to the dugout. If you get three outs
for the whole team then you go from on the field to hitting or hitting to on the field. When you first
start off on the field, the pitcher gets six warmup pitches and then their last pitch gets thrown down
to the shortstop standing at second base pretending to tag someone. They both are played on either
dirt or turf fields with a grass outfield. They have the same in field fly rules and ITB rules. Each
team has nine players. A pitcher, catcher, first baseman, second baseman, shortstop, third baseman,

During the late 90 s, when Gattaca was released, talks on gene manipulation were very serious. It
was also around the time when the clone of Dolly the sheep was revealed to the public. In my
opinion, Andrew Niccol had purposely released the film at that particular time to make realise
the consequences of gene manipulation, to make parents most of all, realise what could
happen. I think that at the end of the film, when Jerome commits suicide and Vincent is going up
into space, is a very effective part in portraying the consequences of having a genetically
modified child. A person who thought he was perfect in all ways possible, who people thought
to be perfect; his life ended the day he got a silver medal instead of gold in a swimming
competition. He tried to commit suicide, but became handicapped instead. However, he did
become successful in killing himself at the end. I think Andrew Niccol wanted to depict how fatal
the consequences could be, because people were only seeing one side of the story more like only
being shown one side the better side of the story; these people being parents. He wanted people, in
particular parents to become aware of the problems arising with having gene manipulated children.
Niccol wanted parents to think about their children. Whether they wanted a God Child who was not

Inaugural Address On January 21st, 2013, Barack Obama addressed the audience as the re elected
President of America in an inaugural ceremony on the West Front of Capitol. The speech was
written by Jonathan Favreau. In an inaugural address, Obama touched upon several important
issues; immigration, gender equality, and economic reforms and left behind the message that unity
is our nation s ultimate strength. He was able convinced the audience that they should all work
together to overcome all issues and for a better tomorrow for the next generation. Obama
successfully persuaded the audience by exemplifying that he was aware of their issues, problems,

audience with use of rhetoric and convinced them his arguments were credible, logical, and

Modern President, in which he explained that presidential power is the power to persuade. Central
motivation of this book was to advice new president with their strategic problem of power and so

Dreamliner 787 Case Study
Boeing is the worlds largest aerospace company. While Boeing is known mostly known for their
commercial airplanes they also manufactures defense, space and security systems, military aircrafts,
weapons, satellites, electronic defense systems, launch systems and information and
communication systems (Boeing, 2013). In this case we are going to focus on the Dreamliner 787,
and the problems that came with the creation of it. The first Boeing 787Dreamliner was delivered
to Japan s ANA in 2011, nearly 40 months after the planned delivery date. The expected delivery
was in May 2008, but the fuel efficient 787 Dreamliner s manufacturing had become complicated
due to multiple changes in the design and supply chain implemented all at once. Far from the
traditional manufacturing, Dreamliner design consists of many new features like unique design,
one piece fuselage, reduced weight, 20% increase in fuel economy, and reduction in maintenance
time. Apart from the changes in design, another major difficulty was the company s global supply
chain network. For the first time ever Boeing outsourced two most critical parts fuselage and
wings. Everything put together, the complications kept increasing and so is the delay. At least
when the plane finally the entered the market years later design came out as expected, and there
weren t any sacrifices to the design that had to be made. The plane can hold from 210 250
passengers on routes of 7650 8200 nautical miles and satisfies the fuel

Irish Spoken English Language
The conflict between the English and the Irish has had many negative effects on Irish culture and
traditions. The Irish language in particular has suffered dramatically from the presence of the
English on the island. When the English gained control of Ireland, they forced their language upon
the people there, and by the end of the nineteenth century, the Irish Gaelic language was almost
extinct. Since then the language has made somewhat of a comeback. Today there are many
Gaeltacht, or Irish speaking, areas where the most common spoken language is Irish. The language
is also taught in schools both in Northern Irelandand the Republic of Ireland. Irish is the national
and first official language of the Republic of Ireland and is recognized as an official minority
language in Northern Ireland. There have been and continue to be many efforts to preserve and
encourage the learning of the language... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first poem, A Grafted Tongue by John Montague introduces the topic with very strong
descriptions of what it feels like to be in a place where you are forced to learn a new language.
This poem highlights the discomfort and humiliation that comes with this experience. He comments
on how the English tried to get rid of the Irish language completely, but it is now taught in
schools. Teachers desperately trying to throw the language on modern Irish English speaking
children so it is not forgotten. The second poem, Received English (ix) by Mary O Malley also
discusses the difficulty of learning a new language/accent that is strange to you, but she describes
how each different tongue trying to say the new words makes them their own. Her poem brings up
the Received Pronunciation, or standard English pronunciation, brought from England. O Malley
describes how the Irish gave the words new life, with their own accent, fit for the old languages
songs and

Discipline Child Abuse
There is no disciplinary handbook when it comes to how someone should parent their
child. There will be issues that arise throughout the child s life that will need different levels of
discipline. However, there is a right and a wrong way to handle these misbehaviors. Parents must
help their defiant children be successful (Petrakis 147). For many parents finding the proper way
to deal with their child s behavior can be stressful and result in anger. According to Jody Pawel, a
licensed social worker, discipline should have a focus on helping a child learn from their mistakes
(Pawel). Child abuseis defined as the physical maltreatment of a child ( Child Abuse ). In other
words child abuse is what we refer to when discipline has gotten out of control, or reached a toxic
level. The majority of parents may not see their verbal warnings, guilt trips, timeouts, loss of
privileges, name calling, spanking, belt hitting, first hitting, burning, sexual misconduct,
abandonment, or broken bones as a major issue. However, there is a point to when child discipline
becomes child abuse. There is a fine line not only between discipline and physical abuse, but also
discipline and emotional child abuse. When it comes to emotional abuse the line is drawn when
verbal warnings, cursing, or guilt trips result in a child feeling a sense of self doubt. When it
comes to discipline and physical abuse the line is drawn when any amount of physical pain is
inflicted on a child who is in an

  • 2. Policing And Anti-Plagiarism Why Electronic Policing and Anti Plagiarism Software Should Be Used College and high school students today have access to a vast amount of information on the internet. We are no longer limited to the books in the library or outdated encyclopedias for research. Information is in abundance and at our fingertips. Because of this, students find themselves easily falling into plagiarism, copying and pasting data without properly citing sources. Some students may pay to have their essay or research paper written for them. Therefore, it is good to have students work checked by anti plagiarism software because of advanced technology and ease of accessibility, the lowering of moral and ethical values of some students, and the basic lack of knowledge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Plagiarism has become a serious problem among high school and college students. A lot of this could be that the attitudes and moral values of students have changed and a high percentage of students do not worry about being caught. In a recent survey, it is reported that at least 28% of students do not worry about the potential consequences of plagiarism ( Survey Reveals Unique Insights to US Students Attitudes Towards Plagiarism ). Some students often claim they did not know they were doing anything wrong, especially those who claimed to speak a language other than English (Cross). Of course, with the endless amount of information available on the internet, a student can easily educate themselves on the proper way to cite an essay. If a student does not choose good morals and ethics when writing essays, the battle for plagiarism will continue. To avoid further risk of detection, students will also use paid services that write essays. Even though this method is hard to detect, a good teacher can notice changes in a student s writing style, which will send a red flag (Cross). If students continue to lower their moral and ethical values, universities will increase technology to detect plagiarism. Students should learn to write their own content and develop their skills. Anti plagiarism software will help deter students from copying from others work without citing (Graham Matheson and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Silent Movies In The 1920 s In cinema s early days, the film industry was based in New York, the nation s theatrical center. Most movies were being filmed in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, and Florida. However, by the 1920 s, southern California had become the leading film capital due to its cheap land and labor. Films gained their popularity after Vaudeville actors striked in 1901. This left theaters scrambling for acts and films became the main event. Silent films were widely popular in the early 1920 s and were usually accompanied by live piano or organ music. Talking pictures were first introduced in 1923, but did not become popular until 1927. The first Nickelodeon was introduced in 1905 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Nickelodeons, named after their cost and the Greek word for theater, soon spread across the country. These storefront theaters remained the prime outlet for movies among the lower and middle class. The upper class began to flock to more modern theaters called Picture Palaces. Picture Palaces reached their peaks in the 1920 s and died out when the Great Depression hit in the 1930 s. These theaters were much larger than most theaters today and offered a wide range of features such as, extravagant lobbies, neatly dressed ushers, and live music. During... Live music played a large role in silent films and conveying the emotions to the audience. One ruinous aspect of the transition from silent films to sound films is the actors lack to transition with them. Important silent film stars such as Clara Bow and Rudolph Valentino faded away with silent films. However, stars like Charlie Chaplin and Lionel Barrymore were able to make a successful transition from silent to sound, and continued their strong acting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The War Of The British Army In 1775, America attacked its Mother Country in war. But Why? The Prime Minister of England, George Grenville, issued many laws that taxed the colonist for almost everything they bought or sold. The pastors and speakers of this era saw that they were being treated unfairly by their Mother Country and took a stand against it. These men of God spoke out against mistreatment and the unjust laws that had been placed on them. But how significant was the impact made by pastors and speakers on the people that heard their messages? Thorn p.4] IMPACT OF MANAGEMENT FUNCTION ON OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT This section analyses the impact that the previously discussed functions of management has on the operations management. Planning is the most important pillar of operations management. When an organization plans its goals and sets down its strategies, it then becomes easier for the managerial level to decide and distribute the work load. Without any plan of action, the organization or company would not know what it is working towards. For a manufacturing company, planning would include product design. For work to be conducted on the principles of operations management, organizing plays an important role. Workload needs to be divided in such an efficient manner that the skills of an employee or a group of employees are used to the fullest. Overloading any employee would result in deficient outputs and derogatory work which would naturally be time consuming. As the goal of organizing is to produce better results, similarly leading or motivating is necessary for an organization to extract maximum performance out of the workers. With appealing incentives, workers would work honestly and put in their best. This in turn would save the company time and there would be a complete control of the managerial department over things like production control and quality control. When an employee is ... His many works span in genre and form, from the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet to the poem of a father s unconditional love and eventual acceptance of a loved one s death. Through a vast variety of linguistic and structural techniques, he is able to promote, develop and explain his personal ideology of love. Evidence of this is seen through the character of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and the narrative voice in a selection of sonnets. The word But , although with negative connotations, is used to positively emphasise the importance of the new phase of acceptance of his son s death, and the continuation of his paternal love. It is through this line that Shakespeare goes on to explain how his love for his son will never diminish, as it is immortalised, along with his son, in the poem. This is the act of creating an autotelic memorial in that the poem will never fade away, ever when the writer dies. Due to this, Shakespeare is able to show that his concept of love, no matter what form it is in, is so strong and true that it is infinite and can overcome all obstacles, even death itself. To a 16th century reader, the concept of love taking many forms and overcoming even death was unconventional, as it contrasted greatly to the accepted ideal of courtly love, which was limited and weak. To a modern day reader, whose greatest fear is death; being told love overcomes death reassures them of its strength. This promotes Shakespeare s ideology, especially through contrast in the ... He told the story of the battle day by day, switching from General to General, and showing an immense amount of insight and research to how things most likely occurred during the heat of battle in July of 1863. Not only did Shaara display various viewpoints of the battle, he did it in a convincing style. Killer Angels was written not as a work of non fiction but rather as a historical fiction, in which literary license and research was used to put the reader into the mind of all of the main leaders of the Battle of Gettysburg. • 28. The Movie Rain Man By Raymond Babbit Introduction In the movie Rain Man, Raymond Babbit is portrayed by actor, Dustin Hoffman. Raymond Babbit is a patient of the Walbrook Institute where he was placed at a young age. Raymond is diagnosed with Savants Syndrome. In Raymond s case, he functions at an impressively high level (Inc., 2004). Savant syndrome is diagnosed when an individual performs basic cognitive processes below what is deemed as normal. However these individuals exhibit exceptional abilities in certain areas. In the case of Raymond Babbit, his memory was exemplary. The character Raymond Babbit, was based on a man named Laurence Kim Peek. Although Mr. Peek lived his life with Savant Syndrome, he was not autistic. After receiving an MRI, doctors discover that Mr. Peek lacked the corpus callosum, the anterior commissure, and the hippocampal commissure (Brogaard, 2013). This is also acknowledged as split brain. These three parts of the brain belong to the neurological system of the brain and transfers information from the right and left hemisphere. This is the reason that Mr. Peek possessed the ability to both read pages of a book and absorb the information simultaneously. Genetics, infections, and intoxication during pregnancy are all factors that can affect the corpus callosum (Brogaard, 2013). • 30. Overload In Hockey Training Before assigning a program regime it is important to analyze both the needs of the individual and the biomechanics of their required movements. When looking at athletes specifically, a coach should analyze not only the biomechanical and physiological requirements of the athletes but also how to improve transfer of training. Goals of hockey players often include improving power and speed of skating stride or increasing accuracy of the wrist shot. The training plan the athlete should be given to achieve these goals should involve exercises that mimic contraction types, rate of force production and biomechanics of these movements. Experience of the athlete and the combination of general and specific training are crucial factors that determine how training will transfer to performance. Although weight training will increase the amount of force an athlete can provide, this does not necessarily guarantee an increased performance within their sport. For this reason, coaches should apply research that is specific to their athletes sport to increase mechanical specificity, while applying principles of overload and variation. They say as mammals continued to evolve, they drove the dinosaurs into extinction ( What Killed the Dinosaurs ). Not only did mammals likely compete with dinosaurs for resources, many species survived the end Cretaceous extinction and subsequently came to dominate Earth. ( What Killed the Dinosaurs? ). This is primarily because the early mammals were a lot smaller than the mammals that exist today. Some of the world s earliest mammals were the multituberculates, a group of small rodent like animals that first emerged on Earth about 165 million years ago. (Welsh, Jennifer). Scientists predict that any mass extinction event that caused animals to go extinct affected larger animals than it did the smaller animals, such as mammals ( Dinosaurs Became Extinct due to Laying Eggs ). Mammals remained small for almost 100 million years, while they out competed small and baby dinosaurs for food, shelter and resources until they were extinct. Once the dinosaurs were out of the way mammals were able to evolve and grow large in size like the mammals that exist today today (LiveScience). Fossil evidence sheds some light on this theory as well. Fossils of mammals believed to date back to about eighty five million years ago show that mammals began to change rapidly and grow. This matches up with other mammal groups, including recently discovered species from the Late Cretaceous (between 100 million and 65 million years ago) showing highly specialized ...
