The Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program will provide incentive payments to eligible
professionals and hospitals that exhibit significant use of certified EHR technology. Participation can
begin as early as 2011. Eligible professionals and hospitals can receive up to $44,000 over five years
under the Medicare EHR Incentive Program. There is an additional incentive for eligible professionals
and hospitals that provide services in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HSPA). In order to receive
the maximum incentive payment, Medicare eligible professionals must begin participation by 2012.
Health care professionals and hospitals that do not meet the requirements by 2015 will be subject to a
decrease in reimbursement (CMS, 2011). The Medicaid EHR Incentive Program will provide
incentive payments to eligible professionals and eligible hospitals as they adopt, implement, upgrade,
or demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology in their first year of participation and
demonstrate meaningful use for up to five remaining participation years. The Medicaid EHR Incentive
Program is voluntarily offered by individual states and territories and may begin as early as 2011,
depending on the state. Eligible professionals can receive up to $63,750 over the six years that they
choose to participate in the program. Eligible hospital incentive payments may begin as early as 2011,

Dentist Vs Orthodontist
I am personally interested in both of these careers. I have had an interest in them since I was in middle
school and started visiting the dentist and orthodontist more frequently. My orthodontist s friendly,
helpful staff always made me feel comfortable. My parents would typically scare me telling me that
the dentist is someone that many kids are afraid to see. I would also look up the top ten fears in the
world, and the dentist would be at the top of the list. However, my dentists actually made me feel at
home when I was in their office. They were sincere and always asked about my day and comforted me
if I felt the least bit of pain. These dentists would inform me on the process of which they are
performing on me and I started to take interest.

Effects of long term space flight on human
The main plot the science fiction paper includes a trip to a planet out of the solar system, including a
record of the long flight to the destination and a description of the scenarios after landing on the plant.
Discussion of space debris, space hazards, effect of long term space flight will be the main aspects in
the record of the flight alongside with an introduction of the spacecraft technology. Regarding the post
landing scenario, atmospheric composition, condition of the planet surface and habitability of the
planet would be discussed in the paper.
The topic that to be presented in this research paper is the effect of long term space flight. A flight that
takes place in space for months or even years certainly has an impact on crew members conditions,
both physically and psychologically. First and foremost, the major difference in the environment
between the space and what the crew members are used to is the degree of gravity. Although in the
actually spacecraft, zero gravity is countered by the artificial gravity generated to ensure crew
members mobility, astronauts still live and work in an environment with little senses of stability and
weight. Scientists have done experiments in Earth orbit that indicate weightless environment is
deleterious to human body to a certain extent.

Language and Learning
* In the educational field, the teaching learning cycle is a model used in contemporary teaching in
both school and adult educational settings. Rothery (1996 in Derewianka amp; Jones 2012, pg 43)
who originally developed the model used this to aim at disadvantaged children for teaching literacy
and writing in the KLA (Key learning areas) who were from socially disadvantaged areas. Over time
the model has been phased across other areas of the English language such as listening, speaking,
reading as well as writing. The key involvement of the teacher also known as expert other in the
teaching learning cycle is guiding the learner to understand key concepts in academic literacy through
use of scaffolding strategies to transform students ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this stage some activities that teachers implement are group work activities where student can
interact with one another including the teacher in developing a written text using formal academic
literature from being shown before when modeling the genre. Also known as macro scaffolding when
the teacher plans out goals for the classroom based on the students prior knowledge and newfound
information (Hammond amp; Gibbons 2005, pg 12). This stage is an important stage as students are
working together and developing their knowledge together. This is also known as ZOP (zone of
proximal development). According to Vygotsky s theory citied in Salmon (2008 pg 457) it is the
student levels level of understanding and where their potential of understanding can be through times
of social interaction and the task being set. So in context of joint construction stage when students
work together and with the teacher scaffolding their writing they are building upon their own
knowledge and knowledge they have learnt from the field to contribute to the topic (Kozulin 2003).
This is also influenced in the other stages of the learning cycle. Another strategy in scaffolding is
interactional scaffolding where the teacher can prompt students to think, which then leads to them
working together in building the field and contributing effectively during joint construction. For e.g. if
the task set was writing a report the teacher can

There are differences between hearing and deaf cinema. When you watch a deaf movie, there is no
build up of tension, because there is no dramatic music, things just happen suddenly. The group of us
watching this movie actually screamed because we got caught off guard. The actors also use a lot
more expression, which adds more quality to the movie. Hearing actors usually have a dead face, no
matter what they are saying. On the other hand, deaf use their bodies more and their facial
expressions. I also caught a line where he Rex told Troy he better stop telling him what to do, or he
will cut off his hands. I found this extremely interesting, because this is the deaf equivalent to the
hearing line, Put a sock in it. They are both used to tell people to shut up; however, you cannot shove a
sock in a deaf person s mouth because they can still sign. If you cut off a deaf person s hands, they can
no longer communicate. I think it is important to catch small details like

Native American Healing Traditions Could Supplement Modern...
Many traditional Native medicines and healing practices were discouraged with the advent of Western
medicine, but now there is a movement to return to traditional ways (Zubek, 1994, p. 1924). Modern
Western medicine treats the symptoms to cure a diseased state when the body is out of homeostasis.
Native American healing traditions do this as well with herbs and plants suited to the purpose. These
Native healing traditions also include sacred rituals, chants, and purification rites to help bring the
spirit and mind of the afflicted back into balance. In effect, treating the whole person, not only the
disease. A blending of these two healing practices could bring about better prognoses for today s
patients. The purpose of this paper is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The findings of this survey showed that 73.6% agreed with the use of traditional medicines for health
maintenance, 79.2% agreed for benign illness, such as colds or sprained ankles, and 90.3% agreed for
palliative care (Zubek, 1994, p. 1926). Where they disagreed the most was with the use of traditional
healing in the intensive care units, only 16.9% agreed with the use of this treatment for serious illness,
such as cardiac or respiratory compromise, whether in the hospital (21.2% agreed) or as outpatients
(26.4% agreed). Nearly half (48.6%) agreed with using traditional medicines for chronic illnesses,
such as non insulin dependent diabetes or Parkinson s disease (Zubek, 1994, p. 1926). One instance
where physicians were unwilling to allow their patients to use Native medicine was while the patient
is in the hospital, because the physician could be held legally responsible for any treatment
administered while admitted under their care. There is also the problem of differentiating between
legitimate Native healing practitioners and those who would take advantage of anyone not aware of
the proper rituals and techniques that need to be performed (Zubek, 1994, p. 1929). This could be
overcome by having a formalized licensing organization such as is used by Western practitioners (i.e.
American Society of Clinical Pathology [ASCP]). That poses another problem though, as to whether
traditionalists would be willing to have such an organization.

inform you when and how you should make appointments. When making an appointment, don t ask or
insist on speaking to the executive or whomever is in charge. They have personal assistances who
schedule their meetings for them. When scheduling the meeting, try and schedule it one month in
advance, business hours are typically 9:00 am 5:00 pm, so that is the appropriate time to schedule an
appointment. When arriving to an appointment you should arrive at the exact time or just before the
scheduled time for example, you should arrive 5 or 10 minutes before having to be there (Zavrski

Monetary Denomination
I now am going to talk about Monetary Denomination and what Australia s is and their current
exchange rate. Australia s national currency is the Australian dollar which comes in $5, $10, $20, $50,

HCS451 Risk Assessment Summary
Agape Long Term Care is a 40 bed skilled nursing facility, specializing in Alzheimer s and dementia
patients. The management team at Agape has decided to make risk management a focus in the
upcoming year, and has hired a consultant to perform an assessment and formulate a plan for risk
management. Long term care facilities serve over 3 million Americans, and that number is growing
every year. (Rubbens, 2007)With the boom in the need for long term care, comes more risks. Risk
management is designed to mitigate safety concerns, assure quality and protect patients rights. Risk
management is both proactive eliminating risks before they can occur, and reactive after a risk has
occurred, taking steps so if will not occur again. Every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

proactive in their daily duties. The consultant also recommended sending the risk manager to be
certified by the Center for Aging Services Risk Management (CASRM), a not for profit foundation
that researches, educates and promotes a culture of risk management and safety. CASRM is an
invaluable resource for risk management in long term care and skilled nursing facilities. (Linda
Wallace, 2011) Agape has taken the first steps to promote a culture of risk management within its
organization. They will be performing a risk assessment; following thought with a written risk
management program and continue to education their staff of incorporating risk management into
daily activities. These changes will lead to fewer negative incidents, improve the quality of healthcare

Essay On Delirium
Delirium is a condition that is often treated by identifying and correcting the underlying etiology
(Townsend Morgan, 2017). This includes the healthcare team addressing if the patient was hypoxic,
took certain medications, or had a fluid and electrolyte imbalance that lead to the delirium (Townsend
Morgan, 2017). Medical treatment modalities for delirium involve select pharmacological therapy for
specific symptoms, but are not recommended (Townsend Morgan, 2017). Common pharmacological
interventions include reducing symptoms of psychosis or substance withdrawal (Townsend Morgan,
2017). Physicians prescribe anti psychotics such as Haloperidol at a low dose to reduce the agitation
associated with delirium (Townsend Morgan, 2017). Other medical treatment modalities for delirium
include the use of anxiolytic agents such as Benzodiazepines to reduce the occurrence of delirium
associated with substance withdrawal (Townsend Morgan, 2017). Lastly, as the delirious client
becomes increasingly confused and aggressive, other mechanical or chemical restraints may be
implicated for overall safety measures (Townsend Morgan, 2017). ... Show more content on

Remaining with the client will aid in orientating them to their surroundings and reduce the anxiety
associated with the confusion (Townsend Morgan, 2017). Another nursing intervention implicated for
the delirious client involves providing a calm environment with minimal stimulus (Townsend Morgan,
2017). Obtaining a low stimulus environment will minimize distractions associated with the delirium
and maintain clients comfort (Townsend Morgan, 2017). Lastly, promoting adequate rest is an
essential nursing intervention for a delirious patient (Townsend Morgan, 2017). Often, delirium can
progress from sleep deprivation, which correlates to impaired cognition from continual stress on brain

Basic education can also improve level of understanding in law. The understanding in law hopefully
can solve the physical conflict between people and resolve any disputes through law institution. Early

Ideas of Rulers in Tao-te Ching and The Prince Essay
When comparing Tao te Ching to The Prince there are numerous differences. The authors of these two
documents had almost completely opposite ideas of how a ruler should behave and how a government
should be run. One believed that the ruler could accomplish the most by doing the least; the other
believed that by controlling how the public perceived a ruler was what would make him a success or a
failure. Machiavelli believed that to rule the prince must do things that would win approval with his
people, and that the prince must always keep and maintain arms to remain in power. On the other hand
Lao tzu believed that the master ruled with as little involvement as possible, he believed that to not do

Throughout The Prince are guide lines for a ruler to follow concerning matters of how he is going to
be viewed by the people. Machiavelli says that a prince should take care to not be too generous or too
cruel as either could have a negative effect on his reputation. While these two ideas might seem to
have little relevance to one another it is just an example of how Lao tzu s and Machiavelli s ideas
about how important the rulers public persona was to their ability to rule successfully.
Finally one major difference is that Machiavelli believes that the ruler should always keep arms and be
ready to fight off a threat. Lao tzu has the idea that the only need to keep arms is for a last resort when
all other options have been exhausted. This is an enormous difference; The Prince gives the idea that
by not maintaining a military and a willingness to fight the ruler may be over thrown by either another
country or by his own people. Lao tzu gives the idea that if you rule properly you will not need the
weapon except in the most extreme circumstances. He also gives the idea that if a ruler tries to rule by
force another force opposing the ruler will come to him.
Both of these authors have good ideas on how to rule properly and have the greatest influence on their
people. While neither one of the ideas is wrong nor right they are both good proposals for any one not
just a prince or a master, but anyone who finds

York City was 9.1 minutes in 2012, compared to 6.9 minutes in 2007, an increase of 31 percent

Kelley was very successful in recruiting people to socialism. She told Friedrich Engels: We have a

He later established the general theory of specific heats by observing the amount of heat required to
raise the temperature of different substances by the same temperature interval.
In 1819, the French physicists Pierre Louis Dulong and Alexis Thérèse Petit observed that the heat
capacity per atom for metals were extremely similar within the temperature range of 300 500K. They
determined heat capacities by surrounding the bulb of a mercury thermometer with a hot powdered
sample and subsequently monitoring the cooling rate [2]. Since their experimental results for the heat
capacities of different metals were close to that of an average, 3R, where R is the universal gas
constant, it was concluded and accepted that the value of the heat capacity of an element is constant.
In 1892, Sir James Dewar performed experiments in the pursuit of determining the specific heat
capacity of palladium. He measured the rise in the volume of vapour produced when placing the solid
in boiling liquid. In doing so he invented the Dewar flask by placing a brass container within another
container and depriving the gap between them of air, creating near vacuum conditions.
In 1907 Albert Einstein made the first attempt to apply quantum theory to the molar heat capacity of
solids [1] He made two assumptions: each atom in the lattice of a material is an independent quantum
harmonic oscillator and that all vibrational modes

Allusion In Dustland Fairytale
The writer of Dustland Fairytale , Brandon Flowers, best employs allusion as well as diction to prove
the theme not everything in life goes perfectly. Throughout the song, Flowers changes the music to
represent different events a couple may face, while using diction, specific word choice at certain
points, to metaphorically represent the situations the couple, which turned out to be Flowers parents,
may be in. The song starts off softly, using word choice like some kind of slick chrome American

Medical Malpratices in Surgery
Medical malpractice cases increases when a patient is harmed or injured by a doctor or nurse or other
medical professional who fails to provide proper and better health care treatment. Fortunately, doctors,
nurses, and hospitals make mistakes in a small number of cases. But within that small minority of
cases, certain types of errors crop up more often than others.
Surgical errors can be medical malpractice if the surgeon s performance falls below the accepted
standard of care for a reasonably competent surgeon under similar circumstances, and the patient is
injured as a result. Although some surgical errors are the result of a physician s actual incompetence,
most result from poor planning before surgery or failure to properly communicate with the patient or
his/her family about the possible risks associated with a procedure. During surgery, doctor, nurses and
medical provider often face situations where quick and fast decisions need to be made. When mistakes
occur during surgery, the patient on the operating table can suffer severe and weaken injuries.
Medical mistakes during surgery can occur when a doctor, nurse or hospital staffs fail to give their full
attention to the patient they are operating on. This can result in the wrong procedure being performed,
medical supplies used during the surgery being left inside of the patient, or a failure to promptly and
properly react when unanticipated problems arise. In many cases, problems during surgery are the
direct result

My Puppet Making Journey
In the following essay I will be discussing and explaining the various aspects of my puppet making
journey. This includes the style I have chosen to use, as well as what and who influenced me and how
I plan on using this puppet. I decided to go for the shadow puppetry method.
What exactly is shadow puppetry (also known as shadow play)? In order for something to be
considered as shadow play you only need about three things, namely a source of light, a form (can be
a figure or your hand etc.) and a wall/screen/surface to project onto. If you are like me and try to make
a dog or an ostrich with your hands every chance you get then you can say you have had experience in
shadow puppetry.
I decided to use shadow puppetry because I remember watching a shadow puppet show when I was
younger (about six or seven years old) and it was incredibly captivating yet so simple. The fact that
the images were just silhouettes gave my colourful imagination the chance to paint them any way I
wanted to. I cannot remember the exact show I watched but I do remember the feeling it left me with.
I hope I can achieve the same wonder with my puppets. A court poet during the reign ... Show more

I cut them out and made holes in some for the light to shine through (perforation). I then attached
skewers to the back of each puppet with tape. For the bigger puppet of George Carlin I drew out his
whole face then traced his jaw on a separate piece of paper. I then cut off his initially drawn jaw and
attached the traced one for mobility. One skewer keeps him upright and the other moves his jaw. I
constructed a theatre made out of cardboard. I took a cardboard box and cut out a stage which I
replaced with white paper/screen. There is an opening for my hands in order to put on a show. My
light source will be the flashlight from my phone. I enjoyed this whole process because I had to make

Black Tea Lab Report
Introduction:
The purpose of this lab is to see if black tea helps as a natural fertilizer to enhance the growth of the
radish plants. In order for a seedling to grow into a healthy mature plant, it must have nourishments
like water and nutrients. Tannic acid and nutrients are some of the nutritional ingredients in black tea,
when these nutrients are added to soil it becomes a more habitable place for the seedlings to develop
into plants. Tea leaves also have nitrogen in them, nitrogen is a vital nutrient for plants to grow.
Purpose:
The purpose of this lab is to see if black tea mixed with water will help increase the rate of growth for
a radish plant, as appose to the use of solely water.
Question:
How does black tea affect the growth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

9. Poured 10 ml of tea water substance into Charlie
10. Then with the scoopla picked up the grinded leaves from the bottom of the beaker and packed
them on the top of each plant (except for Devonte)
Discussion Section:
In the lab, all of the plants had a constant rate of growth because all four plants were newly planted.
The plants were taken care of and fed in the same way, so the predicted outcome was that they would
grow at the same rate for the duration of the lab.
Conclusion:
This lab was conducted to see what happens when black tea and water are used to enhance the growth
of a radish plant. The hypothesis was that the plants that were given the black tea and water mixture
were going to grow faster than the control plant (Devonte). The hypothesis was partially correct
because all the plants grew substantially large closer to the end of the lab. Plant 2 (Bravo) started to
wither away and die because it was over fed, and eventually drowned in water. The other two plants
grew at a consistent pace and developed into healthy mature plants. To sum up, the lab that was
conducted was successful in the sense that two out of the four plants grew rapidly without the use of

Autobiography Of A Homeless Person
In day to day life, an individual will come into contact with countless people who all
have vastly diverse backgrounds. One person may be a renowned surgeon, or you could come
across a homeless man that thinks everyone is trying to harm him in some way or another. The
fact of the matter is that no one has an obvious way of knowing how someone s day has gone, or
what kind of frame of mind they happen to be in at any given moment in time. One might notice
that most people s days are hectic, depressing, or maybe sometimes even a little deplorable.
Regardless of anyone s history, we should all strive to put that behind us and start off on a new

filled to the top with food, onto the conveyer belt. The cashier then proceeded to start asking the
typical questions such as, Do you have a card with us Ma am? She replied, in a mumbled
voice, No. The next question was, Will you be paying in cash or credit? Without saying
anything, she handed the cashier a WIC check. WIC stands for Women, Child, and Infant
which is a form of Social Security. It is similar to a food stamp, but a WIC check has specific
items that may be bought with it. They go into specification such as, three cans of tomato juice,
two one gallon jugs of milk, and a single head of lettuce. After the transaction was finished, I
hauled all of her groceries that she had gotten for free, out to her car in a shopping cart. Once we

Reflection Paper On The Teaching Of Santa
Things aren t always black and white and the decisions we make as parents are often a result of our
own heartaches and pains. Which is why to answer the question as to why we did, what we did,
concerning the teaching of Santa comes in the form of a story for me.
For me, as a parent, my goal was for my children to know the truth and to live a life of truth. I wanted
my kids to love Jesus more than life itself. I wanted them to know and experience the life in Christ I
had come to know as teenager in a miserable spot. I knew the King of Kings and Lord of Lord and
wanted that to be the center of our home. I knew if they knew the truth, the truth would set them free.
When I was little I had a brother and a sister and real parents. My real parents taught me about Santa
Claus. The night before Christmas we put out a glass of milk and a plate of cookies. Christmas
morning the milk was partially gone and all the cookies were gone except a little moon shaped sliver,
proof that Santa had come and that he was real and of course, then there were presents wrapped under
the Christmas tree.
There was so much excitement that one Christmas Eve at bedtime I couldn t settle down. I could see
down the hall right into our living room. Switching places with my little brother, who slept at the
opposite end of the bunk bed, was the remedy for my restlessness and I quickly fell asleep. The next
morning he told me he saw Santa Claus.. I asked what he looked like and how he got in. He

The Concepts Of Sexual Literacy And Well Being
Introduction The concepts of sexual literacy and well being are going to go hand and hand in everyday
life. When working through situations the better your sexual literacy is the better you will be able to
solve the problem. Sexual literacy is simply, the knowledge and skill needed to promote and protect
sexual well being (2), this is any information you have on sexuality as a whole. Just like in school, the
more literate you are, the better you will be at the subject. Which leads to your sexual well being, this
is experiencing good health, pleasure, and satisfaction in a relationship. (2) Anything that is not
harmful to you or your significant other falls into this category; it is the well being of your
relationship. More specifically, I will be connecting it to my personal situation of communication and
the difficulties of being in a long distance relationship.
Personal Explanation I am have currently been in a relationship for one year and all is great, but for
the past 7 months we have been in two different cities and more recently even states apart. At first we
were only a few hours away, but our relationship was in a real bad place because we round it hard to
find time to talk to one another. I was doing a summer internship that kept me busy 24/7, and he was
recently graduated working 9 to 5 in Houston. Our problem began, when he would want to call and
talk, but I was working still, which lead to me calling late and we would both be too tired to talk. This

Gratitude Essay
Showing gratitude is one of the simplest yet most powerful things humans can do for each other.
Randy Rausch was an American professor of computer science, human computer interaction, and
design at Carnegie Mellon University. He believed that showing appreciation for others was the
strongest yet simplest act someone could do for anyone. Over the past generations, philosophers and
professors from around the world have come up with different assumptions about the term gratitude.
Behavioral and psychological research has shown the surprising life improvements that can stem from
the practice of gratitude. A conclusion that can drawn from this research is that giving thanks makes
people happier and more resilient, strengthens relationships, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Falling in love with Jenny was something Forest was grateful for. He felt praised for knowing such a
woman as Jenny. Life changed for Forest when he met Jenny. She brought a sense of relief to his life,
which awoke him to the idea of recognition. Recognizing the beauty in Jenny s personality made him
feel gratified to know her as a human. Also, Forest gave back to Jenny by giving her flowers and
chocolates to show his appreciation for her. Forever thanking Jenny for her compassion is all Forest
wanted to do. Thus, Forest Gump is an excellent example for the idea of giving thanks and
broadcasting appreciative thoughts.
Gratitude is used either as referring to the wellness in one s self and the wellness outside one s self.
First, the acknowledgment of goodness can be in one s life. In a state of gratitude, we affirm that all in
all, life is good, and has elements that make it not just worth living, but rich detail. When we show
gratitude from in our lives, we are presenting a wise, beautiful idea that makes mankind realize that
giving thanks should not be a choice; it should be a priority. No matter who we are, expressing
acknowledgement is contagious. We see others accomplish goals and show appreciation for their hard
work, and that makes us feel that we need to bring ourselves accountable for our efforts and appreciate
ourselves for our own accomplishments. Consequently, the acknowledgment that we have received

Similarities Between Ancient Greece And China Essay
1. Using three civilizations as examples, describe the concept of the Axial Age The concept of axial
age was introduced into the sphere of philosophical knowledge by German existentialist philosopher
Karl Jaspers for characterizing the period of ancient history during about the 8th to the 3rd century
BC. In this period of time we have developed a fundamentally new religious beliefs and doctrines that
promoted human and cultural values of the era. Jaspers described the Axial Age as an interregnum
between two ages of great empire, a pause for liberty, a deep breath bringing the most lucid
consciousness. Jaspers argued that during the Axial Age, the spiritual foundations of humanity were
laid simultaneously and independently in China, India, Persia, Judea and Greece. And these are the
foundations upon which humanity still subsists today. Consider, for example Greece, India and China.
Ancient Greece up to the 6th century BC was on a par with other civilizations by the level of spiritual
development. Hellenic culture range was one of those, whose coordinate system covers the problems
of family, God, nature and Eros. As a general rule, the mentality of this culture consisted the two
vectors Apollonian and Dionysian. Dionysian beginning was aimed at the satisfaction of the
instinctual needs, as opposed to the Apollonian, whose essence consisted of creative and scientific
elements. The widespread fall of the monarchy and the actualization role of the nation brought

Iago Quotes In Othello
Be careful who you trust, the devil was once an angel. (Unknown). Honest Iago, good Iago, many
names for the character who created so much chaos throughout Shakespeare s classic tragedy Othello.
Iago manipulated everyone; he went out of his way to destroy Othello s relationships with
Desdemona, take everything from Rodrigo, and the effort to destroy Cassio.
Othello had much respect towards Iago and put much trust into him. Iago was very good a hiding his
true intentions to take down Othello s relationship.
After some time, to abuse Othello s ear

Little by little Iago was able to push Othello to the point where he was no longer the person we saw at
the beginning of the play. Othello killed Desdemona because he though Iago was his friend and would
never lie. Iago was a very toxic friend since the start and knew exactly how the story would end
because he had everyone wrapped around his finger.
Rodrigo was another victim that payed for Iago s wrath towards Othello, envy towards Cassio, and
overall greed for money and power, all of which are deadly sins. Iago charmed Rodrigo with the idea
that he could have his one true desire; the fair Desdemona. Iago never cared for Rodrigo and though
he was pathetic as did the audience because he was constantly whiny. Rodrigo was also gullible and
very desperate to win Desdemona s affection. In act 2 scene 3 Rodrigo is very emotional over that fact
he feels he will never get Desdemona because Iago is not giving him results and ends up saying I will
incontinently drown myself. . Iago again out of self need helps Rodrigo so he will not kill himself. The
reason he stops Rodrigo is because he is the source of his money, and he knows he will need him in
the future for his plan. He does end up becoming part of his plan in helping destroy Cassio, but
Rodrigo dies at the hands of Iago so that Iago would look like a hero and the one person who knew his
plan is dead. Iago is a master of manipulation and which lead to Rodrigo ending in a very unfortunate
situation.

The History of American Literature
The history of American Literature starts well before this land was even called America. It has been a
great evolution to come from tribal symbols and drawings to today s Stephen King and Danielle
Steele. Literature has gone through many phases and was impacted by great events and ideas in
American history. The earliest form of literature in what would one day be known as America were far
from what modern day people would consider Literature . The Natives who inhabited this land first
had unwritten ways of passing on experiences, beliefs, and stories. Natives relied heavily on the verbal
telling of these stories to younger generations. The same stories, fables, or belief structures were told
repeatedly, each time identical to the last, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mather s rewarding career included writings on science and medicine as well as theology and history.
His Sentiments on the Small Pox Inoculated (1721) was instrumental in introducing the smallpox
vaccine to New England. A new genre for American writers, the travel narrative, would become
especially influential late in the 1700s. Travel narratives include Travels Through the Interior Parts of
North America (1778) by Jonathan Carver and Travels Through North and South Carolina, Georgia,
East and West Florida, the Cherokee Country, etc (1791) by William Bartram . Travel stories often
blended observations on nature and landscape with tales of personal courage and achievement. The
first American newspaper, the Boston News Letter, was founded in 1704, and joined by the Boston
Gazette in 1719. At a time when newspaper journalism was concerned primarily with reporting
political events, the New England Courant, started by James Franklin in 1721, became the first
newspaper to include literary entertainment. Franklin s younger brother Benjamin Franklin published
humorous social commentary in the Courant under the pen name of Silence Dogwood . Magazines
also appeared for the first time in the colonies during the mid 1700s. Before 1800 magazines were
concerned primarily with measuring America s developing culture against the British model. During
the 1700s Boston and Philadelphia became centers of publishing in addition to being political and
commercial centers.

Conversion Of Sto Analysis
Conversion of St. Paul (or The Road to Damascus ) was painted by Italian Baroque artist
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio for the church of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome. It tells the
story of St. Paul conversion. As we know from the bible, and St. Paul s letters, Saul (St. Paul) was on
his way to Damascus to prosecute Christians when he was blinded by light/ spirit from heaven. He fell
to the ground, and the spirit asked him: Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? (Acts 9: 1 6).
Conversion of St. Paul took place in noon and on the desert so it must have been really bright and
sunny, but on Caravaggio s painting we see different scene. Background is dark, as if the event took
place at night. Caravaggio uses chiaroscuro to emphasize St. Paul ecstasy. The servant and the horse
are plunged in darkness. The artist wanted to get the feeling of contrast between light from the sky and
ordinary background, which is dark. Caravaggio gave up painting God and angels instead he painted
presence of God in divine light. There is a dramatic contrast between supernatural light and ordinary
darkness. Paul young, beautiful and ecstatic persona is countered with very realistic image of a servant
and a horse. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The World Of A Plane Crash
In September of 2004, Lost first aired on ABC. The drama series about people stranded on an island
after a plane crash, had elements of science fiction that J.J Abrams used to captivate millions every
episode. The series starts by introducing the main characters, Jack and Kate, and their personal
backgrounds leading up to the commercial plane crash. However, as the series progresses, characters
once believed to have little impact in the show, are highlighted in a single episode and shed light on
topics never previously thought about. The 23rd Psalm, the tenth episode in season two, demonstrates
this aspect of the series very well. The science fiction characteristic of the series is toned down to
bring attention to the drug trading in Africa, specifically Nigeria. The 23rd Psalm attempts to inform
people around the world how organized crime in Nigeria has affected the lives of many who live there,
what they have to do to survive, and the sphere of influence drug trafficking has around the world. The
episode begins with Eko (Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje) finding out that Charlie Pace (Dominic
Monaghan) has in his possession a Virgin Mary statue. Eko demands to see the statue only to break in
open and revealing the heroin inside. Eko then demands that Charlie take him to the location where he
found the statue, which happens to be a small plane crash site farther inland on the island. The plane
appears to be a Nigerian Beechcraft that has already fallen off of a cliff, killing

Analysis Of Elegy Written In A Country Churchyard
Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard is a poem by Thomas Gray which was first published in 1751.
The origins of the poem are unknown, but it was somewhat inspired by Gray s thoughts of the death of
the poet Richard West in 1742. The poem presents the argument that the remembrance of death can be
good and bad. The narrator finds comfort in thinking about the lives once lived by the people buried in
the churchyard. The poem is not just about death, it is about how people are remembered after they
have died. In the first stanza of the poem we see the first metaphor in the poem. Line one, The curfew
tolls the knell of parting day , is a metaphor for death because a knell is a bell that rings when
someone dies. The author could be saying that the day is dying, or ending, because the curfew is a bell
that rings at the end of the day. In line two, the author replaces the word over with o er in order to
make the number of syllables fit the iambic pentameter. In the second stanza, the author uses
alliteration to show how quiet and peaceful the churchyard is by saying And all the air a solemn
stillness holds (line 6). The author also uses personification to talk about the the bells, by saying they
are drowsy (line 8). The use of personification is continued into the third stanza. The speaker does not
say that the owl is hooting, instead he states
that the owl is moping and complaining (line 10), which is something that a human would do, and not
an owl. In stanza 4, the speaker is looking over the graves and saying that this is where the ancestors
of the town are buried. He describes them as rude , but when this poem was written, rude didn t mean
impolite, it meant someone from the country or someone who was unsophisticated. The people in the
graves were most likely farmers or country men. In stanza 5, the speaker clearly states that the
ancestors that are in the graves are dead and are never going to wake up. He lists things that would
normally wake a person up, such as the smell of the breeze first thing in the morning, the sound of
birds tweeting, and the sound of a roosters cock a doodle do or the sound of a horn being blown. The
next stanza focuses on the pleasures that the dead ancestors

Theme Of Death In The Masque Of The Red Death
The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection. (Thomas
Paine). The two stories Masque of the red death and Flight there is a discussion of finding oneself as
well as there virtues. In the story Flight , the main protagonist, Pepe has trouble growing into the man
his mother expects of him and is considered lazy. By the end of the story though Pepe finds his way to
becoming a man when it was needed, but learns the hard way. In Masque of the Red Death, a deadly
plague is rampaging society. While this is occuring the upper class throw a party to forget and distance
themselves away from the widespread agony taking place. The characters ethics must be called to
question and it is to be determined whether or not they deserved death ultimately. Edgar Allan Poe s
Masque of the Red Death and John Steinbeck s Flight both use different sources of conflict to convey
the idea of facing Reality and Disillusionment.
In both stories the characters go through internal conflict where they are met with disillusionment. In
Masque of the Red Death , the main character is going through an internal conflict. In the party that
was thrown, there came yet another chiming of the clock, and then were the same disconcert and
tremulous and meditation as before (Poe). It can be perceived that the chime of the clock was a way of
demonstrating death catching up to the main characters. This shows the internal conflict of the wealthy
people and

The Truth About Being Misunderstood
Corbin watched Patria disappear up the stairs and heard her bedroom door, his bedroom door, close
softly. What he d said was the truth. Her mother had protected her till her death. But maybe Patria was
right as well. By not telling her what they knew they were leaving her vulnerable. She trusted the
Cavicks too much. Maybe if she knew their hands were dirty she wouldn t be so trusting. He would go
talk to her, but it could wait. He still needed more information. He needed to talk to Alexandrov again.
Corbin turned to Pinks. Your vocabulary has become unusual since you woke. Has it? Pinks asked as
he shoveled eggs into his mouth. It has. Why do you think that is? Corbin asked. This wasn t the first
time he d brought this up, but it was becoming more noticeable. Pinks shrugged. Maybe I ve finally
found my intellectual equal and I can freely express myself without fear of being misunderstood, or
having to explain my words. Corbin finished his breakfast quickly and took his plate to the sink. I
need to go. Stay with her, and let me know what she does. You re welcome for breakfast! Pinks yelled
after him. I am not the housekeeper, he muttered, but Corbin still heard him. Corbin hit the garage
door opener, but held on to the Tahoe as he knelt to the ground. His vertigo made him gag a few times
and he thought he was going to toss up the breakfast he didn t thank Pinks for. His vertigo definitely
wasn t getting better. More frequent, and more intense. He

Breakfast Club Character Evaluations Essay
The Breakfast Club was a movie about five very different characters, Claire, Andrew, Brian, Allison,
and John Bender. Claire was a popular girl, Andrew was a wrestler (jock), Brian was intellectually
gifted, Allison was a basket case, and John Bender was a rebel. On the outside they seem like very
different people, in fact they were all socially opposite, but they also shared so much.
As the movie starts out, the five teenagers are being punished with Saturday detention; their
assignment for the next eight hours was to right a paper entitled Who Am I? Their most probable
assumption was from them to write about their achievements. Being students in America, we are all
raised to excel at whatever we do, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So, naturally, she fell in love with him. Perhaps the one quality that unites everyone is that they all
have trouble with their parents. Claire s problem is that she is used as a weapon to the other spouse of
her parents and the only way she can escape that destiny is to be with friends as much as possible,
liking going to the mall and doing other stuff that she has built up in her mind of being cool. Bender
was hated by his parents and probably was an accident. The way his parents treated him built up this
image of himself in his mind that was negative; and therefore, made him negative. Brian was pushed
to over achieve by his parents and so when he finally got an F he thought that it was the end of the
world, when in fact he most likely doesn t care. He does not think for himself, he thinks, What are my
parents going to think? Andrew thinks the same way. He stated openly that he does not care if he wins
or loses, and that he sometimes wishes that his leg would give so that he would not have to wrestle
anymore. Last, Alison was ignored by her parents; forcing her to think that everyone must ignore her.
All of the characters in the movie show fear of rejection. Andrew, fearing rejection from his father,
hurt another student mentally and physically because he believed that what his father would want.
Brian shows the fear of rejection also in that he thinks that his F would make his family not love him
anymore. His parents

  • 3. Dentist Vs Orthodontist I am personally interested in both of these careers. I have had an interest in them since I was in middle school and started visiting the dentist and orthodontist more frequently. My orthodontist s friendly, helpful staff always made me feel comfortable. My parents would typically scare me telling me that the dentist is someone that many kids are afraid to see. I would also look up the top ten fears in the world, and the dentist would be at the top of the list. However, my dentists actually made me feel at home when I was in their office. They were sincere and always asked about my day and comforted me if I felt the least bit of pain. These dentists would inform me on the process of which they are performing on me and I started to take interest. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Effects Of Long Term Space Flight On Human Dai 1 Zeqing Dai Dr. Erika Harnett Ess 102 Space and space travel 20 October 2016 Effects of long term space flight on human The main plot the science fiction paper includes a trip to a planet out of the solar system, including a record of the long flight to the destination and a description of the scenarios after landing on the plant. Discussion of space debris, space hazards, effect of long term space flight will be the main aspects in the record of the flight alongside with an introduction of the spacecraft technology. Regarding the post landing scenario, atmospheric composition, condition of the planet surface and habitability of the planet would be discussed in the paper. The topic that to be presented in this research paper is the effect of long term space flight. A flight that takes place in space for months or even years certainly has an impact on crew members conditions, both physically and psychologically. First and foremost, the major difference in the environment between the space and what the crew members are used to is the degree of gravity. Although in the actually spacecraft, zero gravity is countered by the artificial gravity generated to ensure crew members mobility, astronauts still live and work in an environment with little senses of stability and weight. Scientists have done experiments in Earth orbit that indicate weightless environment is deleterious to human body to a certain extent. • 5. Language and Learning * In the educational field, the teaching learning cycle is a model used in contemporary teaching in both school and adult educational settings. Rothery (1996 in Derewianka amp; Jones 2012, pg 43) who originally developed the model used this to aim at disadvantaged children for teaching literacy and writing in the KLA (Key learning areas) who were from socially disadvantaged areas. Over time the model has been phased across other areas of the English language such as listening, speaking, reading as well as writing. The key involvement of the teacher also known as expert other in the teaching learning cycle is guiding the learner to understand key concepts in academic literacy through use of scaffolding strategies to transform students ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this stage some activities that teachers implement are group work activities where student can interact with one another including the teacher in developing a written text using formal academic literature from being shown before when modeling the genre. Also known as macro scaffolding when the teacher plans out goals for the classroom based on the students prior knowledge and newfound information (Hammond amp; Gibbons 2005, pg 12). This stage is an important stage as students are working together and developing their knowledge together. This is also known as ZOP (zone of proximal development). According to Vygotsky s theory citied in Salmon (2008 pg 457) it is the student levels level of understanding and where their potential of understanding can be through times of social interaction and the task being set. So in context of joint construction stage when students work together and with the teacher scaffolding their writing they are building upon their own knowledge and knowledge they have learnt from the field to contribute to the topic (Kozulin 2003). This is also influenced in the other stages of the learning cycle. Another strategy in scaffolding is interactional scaffolding where the teacher can prompt students to think, which then leads to them working together in building the field and contributing effectively during joint construction. • 6. Black Sand Analysis Black Sand is a horror film, featuring all deaf cast members. This movie lacks linear plot, as the movie consists of multiple plot twist that needs flashbacks to explain the ending. Movies that are all American Sign Language differ from that of hearing movies, and it affects the plot. This is my first movie with all Deaf actors, but I enjoyed it more than movies with hearing actors. So in the beginning of the movie, we meet the characters: Aunt Beth; Cathy, Aunt Beth s niece; Troy, Beth s son; Tim, the boyfriend of Cathy; Joy, Cathy s friend; Rex the boyfriend of Joy. The group arrives in Costa Rica to find that Aunt Beth is not too excited about them coming, and said she sent a letter to Cathy telling her not to come. This is because weird ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are differences between hearing and deaf cinema. When you watch a deaf movie, there is no build up of tension, because there is no dramatic music, things just happen suddenly. The group of us watching this movie actually screamed because we got caught off guard. The actors also use a lot more expression, which adds more quality to the movie. Hearing actors usually have a dead face, no matter what they are saying. On the other hand, deaf use their bodies more and their facial expressions. I also caught a line where he Rex told Troy he better stop telling him what to do, or he will cut off his hands. I found this extremely interesting, because this is the deaf equivalent to the hearing line, Put a sock in it. They are both used to tell people to shut up; however, you cannot shove a sock in a deaf person s mouth because they can still sign. If you cut off a deaf person s hands, they can no longer communicate. I think it is important to catch small details like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Native American Healing Traditions Could Supplement Modern... Many traditional Native medicines and healing practices were discouraged with the advent of Western medicine, but now there is a movement to return to traditional ways (Zubek, 1994, p. 1924). Modern Western medicine treats the symptoms to cure a diseased state when the body is out of homeostasis. Native American healing traditions do this as well with herbs and plants suited to the purpose. These Native healing traditions also include sacred rituals, chants, and purification rites to help bring the spirit and mind of the afflicted back into balance. In effect, treating the whole person, not only the disease. A blending of these two healing practices could bring about better prognoses for today s patients. The purpose of this paper is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The findings of this survey showed that 73.6% agreed with the use of traditional medicines for health maintenance, 79.2% agreed for benign illness, such as colds or sprained ankles, and 90.3% agreed for palliative care (Zubek, 1994, p. 1926). Where they disagreed the most was with the use of traditional healing in the intensive care units, only 16.9% agreed with the use of this treatment for serious illness, such as cardiac or respiratory compromise, whether in the hospital (21.2% agreed) or as outpatients (26.4% agreed). Nearly half (48.6%) agreed with using traditional medicines for chronic illnesses, such as non insulin dependent diabetes or Parkinson s disease (Zubek, 1994, p. 1926). One instance where physicians were unwilling to allow their patients to use Native medicine was while the patient is in the hospital, because the physician could be held legally responsible for any treatment administered while admitted under their care. There is also the problem of differentiating between legitimate Native healing practitioners and those who would take advantage of anyone not aware of the proper rituals and techniques that need to be performed (Zubek, 1994, p. 1929). This could be overcome by having a formalized licensing organization such as is used by Western practitioners (i.e. American Society of Clinical Pathology [ASCP]). That poses another problem though, as to whether traditionalists would be willing to have such an organization. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Machiavelli believed that to rule the prince must do things that would win approval with his people, and that the prince must always keep and maintain arms to remain in power. He later established the general theory of specific heats by observing the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of different substances by the same temperature interval. In 1819, the French physicists Pierre Louis Dulong and Alexis Thérèse Petit observed that the heat capacity per atom for metals were extremely similar within the temperature range of 300 500K. They determined heat capacities by surrounding the bulb of a mercury thermometer with a hot powdered sample and subsequently monitoring the cooling rate [2]. Since their experimental results for the heat capacities of different metals were close to that of an average, 3R, where R is the universal gas constant, it was concluded and accepted that the value of the heat capacity of an element is constant. In 1892, Sir James Dewar performed experiments in the pursuit of determining the specific heat capacity of palladium. He measured the rise in the volume of vapour produced when placing the solid in boiling liquid. In doing so he invented the Dewar flask by placing a brass container within another container and depriving the gap between them of air, creating near vacuum conditions. In 1907 Albert Einstein made the first attempt to apply quantum theory to the molar heat capacity of solids [1] He made two assumptions: each atom in the lattice of a material is an independent quantum harmonic oscillator and that all vibrational modes ... Medical Malpratices in Surgery Medical malpractice cases increases when a patient is harmed or injured by a doctor or nurse or other medical professional who fails to provide proper and better health care treatment. Fortunately, doctors, nurses, and hospitals make mistakes in a small number of cases. But within that small minority of cases, certain types of errors crop up more often than others. Surgical errors can be medical malpractice if the surgeon s performance falls below the accepted standard of care for a reasonably competent surgeon under similar circumstances, and the patient is injured as a result. Although some surgical errors are the result of a physician s actual incompetence, most result from poor planning before surgery or failure to properly communicate with the patient or his/her family about the possible risks associated with a procedure. During surgery, doctor, nurses and medical provider often face situations where quick and fast decisions need to be made. When mistakes occur during surgery, the patient on the operating table can suffer severe and weaken injuries. What exactly is shadow puppetry (also known as shadow play)? It has been a great evolution to come from tribal symbols and drawings to today s Stephen King and Danielle Steele. Literature has gone through many phases and was impacted by great events and ideas in American history. The earliest form of literature in what would one day be known as America were far from what modern day people would consider Literature . The Natives who inhabited this land first had unwritten ways of passing on experiences, beliefs, and stories. Natives relied heavily on the verbal telling of these stories to younger generations. The same stories, fables, or belief structures were told repeatedly, each time identical to the last, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mather s rewarding career included writings on science and medicine as well as theology and history. His Sentiments on the Small Pox Inoculated (1721) was instrumental in introducing the smallpox vaccine to New England. A new genre for American writers, the travel narrative, would become especially influential late in the 1700s. Travel narratives include Travels Through the Interior Parts of North America (1778) by Jonathan Carver and Travels Through North and South Carolina, Georgia, East and West Florida, the Cherokee Country, etc (1791) by William Bartram . Travel stories often blended observations on nature and landscape with tales of personal courage and achievement. The first American newspaper, the Boston News Letter, was founded in 1704, and joined by the Boston Gazette in 1719. At a time when newspaper journalism was concerned primarily with reporting political events, the New England Courant, started by James Franklin in 1721, became the first newspaper to include literary entertainment. Franklin s younger brother Benjamin Franklin published humorous social commentary in the Courant under the pen name of Silence Dogwood . Magazines also appeared for the first time in the colonies during the mid 1700s. Before 1800 magazines were concerned primarily with measuring America s developing culture against the British model. • 30. Conversion Of Sto Analysis Conversion of St. Paul (or The Road to Damascus ) was painted by Italian Baroque artist Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio for the church of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome. It tells the story of St. Paul conversion. As we know from the bible, and St. Paul s letters, Saul (St. Paul) was on his way to Damascus to prosecute Christians when he was blinded by light/ spirit from heaven. He fell to the ground, and the spirit asked him: Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? (Acts 9: 1 6). Conversion of St. Paul took place in noon and on the desert so it must have been really bright and sunny, but on Caravaggio s painting we see different scene. Background is dark, as if the event took place at night. Caravaggio uses chiaroscuro to emphasize St. Paul ecstasy. The servant and the horse are plunged in darkness. The artist wanted to get the feeling of contrast between light from the sky and ordinary background, which is dark. Caravaggio gave up painting God and angels instead he painted presence of God in divine light. There is a dramatic contrast between supernatural light and ordinary darkness. Paul young, beautiful and ecstatic persona is countered with very realistic image of a servant and a horse. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 31. The World Of A Plane Crash In September of 2004, Lost first aired on ABC. The drama series about people stranded on an island after a plane crash, had elements of science fiction that J.J Abrams used to captivate millions every episode. The series starts by introducing the main characters, Jack and Kate, and their personal backgrounds leading up to the commercial plane crash. However, as the series progresses, characters once believed to have little impact in the show, are highlighted in a single episode and shed light on topics never previously thought about. The 23rd Psalm, the tenth episode in season two, demonstrates this aspect of the series very well. The science fiction characteristic of the series is toned down to bring attention to the drug trading in Africa, specifically Nigeria. The 23rd Psalm attempts to inform people around the world how organized crime in Nigeria has affected the lives of many who live there, what they have to do to survive, and the sphere of influence drug trafficking has around the world. The episode begins with Eko (Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje) finding out that Charlie Pace (Dominic Monaghan) has in his possession a Virgin Mary statue. Eko demands to see the statue only to break in open and revealing the heroin inside. Eko then demands that Charlie take him to the location where he found the statue, which happens to be a small plane crash site farther inland on the island. The plane appears to be a Nigerian Beechcraft that has already fallen off of a cliff, killing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Analysis Of Elegy Written In A Country Churchyard Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard is a poem by Thomas Gray which was first published in 1751. The origins of the poem are unknown, but it was somewhat inspired by Gray s thoughts of the death of the poet Richard West in 1742. The poem presents the argument that the remembrance of death can be good and bad. The narrator finds comfort in thinking about the lives once lived by the people buried in the churchyard. The poem is not just about death, it is about how people are remembered after they have died. In the first stanza of the poem we see the first metaphor in the poem. Line one, The curfew tolls the knell of parting day , is a metaphor for death because a knell is a bell that rings when someone dies. The author could be saying that the day is dying, or ending, because the curfew is a bell that rings at the end of the day. In line two, the author replaces the word over with o er in order to make the number of syllables fit the iambic pentameter. In the second stanza, the author uses alliteration to show how quiet and peaceful the churchyard is by saying And all the air a solemn stillness holds (line 6). The author also uses personification to talk about the the bells, by saying they are drowsy (line 8). The use of personification is continued into the third stanza. The speaker does not say that the owl is hooting, instead he states that the owl is moping and complaining (line 10), which is something that a human would do, and not an owl. In stanza 4, the speaker is looking over the graves and saying that this is where the ancestors of the town are buried. He describes them as rude , but when this poem was written, rude didn t mean impolite, it meant someone from the country or someone who was unsophisticated. The people in the graves were most likely farmers or country men. In stanza 5, the speaker clearly states that the ancestors that are in the graves are dead and are never going to wake up. He lists things that would normally wake a person up, such as the smell of the breeze first thing in the morning, the sound of birds tweeting, and the sound of a roosters cock a doodle do or the sound of a horn being blown. The next stanza focuses on the pleasures that the dead ancestors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Theme Of Death In The Masque Of The Red Death The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection. (Thomas Paine). The two stories Masque of the red death and Flight there is a discussion of finding oneself as well as there virtues. In the story Flight , the main protagonist, Pepe has trouble growing into the man his mother expects of him and is considered lazy. By the end of the story though Pepe finds his way to becoming a man when it was needed, but learns the hard way. In Masque of the Red Death, a deadly plague is rampaging society. While this is occuring the upper class throw a party to forget and distance themselves away from the widespread agony taking place. The characters ethics must be called to question and it is to be determined whether or not they deserved death ultimately. Edgar Allan Poe s Masque of the Red Death and John Steinbeck s Flight both use different sources of conflict to convey the idea of facing Reality and Disillusionment. In both stories the characters go through internal conflict where they are met with disillusionment. In Masque of the Red Death , the main character is going through an internal conflict. In the party that was thrown, there came yet another chiming of the clock, and then were the same disconcert and tremulous and meditation as before (Poe). It can be perceived that the chime of the clock was a way of demonstrating death catching up to the main characters. This shows the internal conflict of the wealthy people and ... • 35. The Truth About Being Misunderstood Corbin watched Patria disappear up the stairs and heard her bedroom door, his bedroom door, close softly. What he d said was the truth. Her mother had protected her till her death. But maybe Patria was right as well. By not telling her what they knew they were leaving her vulnerable. She trusted the Cavicks too much. Maybe if she knew their hands were dirty she wouldn t be so trusting. He would go talk to her, but it could wait. He still needed more information. He needed to talk to Alexandrov again. Corbin turned to Pinks. Your vocabulary has become unusual since you woke. Has it? Pinks asked as he shoveled eggs into his mouth. It has. Why do you think that is? Corbin asked. This wasn t the first time he d brought this up, but it was becoming more noticeable. Pinks shrugged. Maybe I ve finally found my intellectual equal and I can freely express myself without fear of being misunderstood, or having to explain my words. Corbin finished his breakfast quickly and took his plate to the sink. I need to go. Stay with her, and let me know what she does. You re welcome for breakfast! Pinks yelled after him. I am not the housekeeper, he muttered, but Corbin still heard him. Corbin hit the garage door opener, but held on to the Tahoe as he knelt to the ground. • 36. Breakfast Club Character Evaluations Essay The Breakfast Club was a movie about five very different characters, Claire, Andrew, Brian, Allison, and John Bender. Claire was a popular girl, Andrew was a wrestler (jock), Brian was intellectually gifted, Allison was a basket case, and John Bender was a rebel. On the outside they seem like very different people, in fact they were all socially opposite, but they also shared so much. As the movie starts out, the five teenagers are being punished with Saturday detention; their assignment for the next eight hours was to right a paper entitled Who Am I? Their most probable assumption was from them to write about their achievements. Being students in America, we are all raised to excel at whatever we do, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Claire s problem is that she is used as a weapon to the other spouse of her parents and the only way she can escape that destiny is to be with friends as much as possible, liking going to the mall and doing other stuff that she has built up in her mind of being cool. Bender was hated by his parents and probably was an accident. The way his parents treated him built up this image of himself in his mind that was negative; and therefore, made him negative. Brian was pushed to over achieve by his parents and so when he finally got an F he thought that it was the end of the world, when in fact he most likely doesn t care. He does not think for himself, he thinks, What are my parents going to think? Andrew thinks the same way. He stated openly that he does not care if he wins or loses, and that he sometimes wishes that his leg would give so that he would not have to wrestle anymore. Last, Alison was ignored by her parents; forcing her to think that everyone must ignore her. All of the characters in the movie show fear of rejection. Andrew, fearing rejection from his father, hurt another student mentally and physically because he believed that what his father would want. Brian shows the fear of rejection also in that he thinks that his F would make his family not love him anymore. His parents ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
