Financial Ratios Case Study
UVA C 2332
Rev. Oct. 17, 2012
RATIOS TELL A STORY 2011
Financial results and conditions vary among companies for a number of reasons. One reason for the
variation can be traced to the characteristics of the industries in which companies operate. For
example, some industries require large investments in property, plant, and equipment (PP E), while
others require very little. In some industries, the competitive productpricing structure permits
companies to earn significant profits per sales dollar, while in other industries the product pricing
structure imposes a much lower profit margin. In most low margin industries, however, companies
often experience a relatively high rate of product throughput. A second reason for some of the ... Show

Josua Case Study Psychology
Josué was observed on October 31st, 2016. Josué, his mother, as well as the B.A.T clinical team were
present to conduct a descriptive functional assessment, which consisted of direct observation of
behavior and an Antecedent Behavior Consequence (ABC) narrative recording in the family home.
When the clinical team arrived, Josue was playing with his trains on the living room floor. The clinical
engaged Josue with his trains. The clinical team probed appropriate play, Josue was able the roll his
trains, however, he did not play appropriately with his other toys (i.e. electronics and figurines). He
was also observed to get upset whenever his trains would roll more than two feet away. The clinical
team then probed, the one step instruction, Go get it and he did not comply. Instead, he would stand
up, cry, and hit mom and the clinical team with an open hand. Mom and the clinical team would block
the hitting. Mom would hug, hold, and sang to Josue. Mom added it was hard watching Josua cry.
Josua was observed to look at mom as he engaged in behaviors. When mom ignored (not look at him
as he engaged in behaviors) he then got onto of the dinner table kicked the table and cried. He tried to
pull down the bird cage and open the cage. Mom blocked him and said No and hugged him. Josue did
not comply to the one step instruction, Stop during this time, when presented by the clinical team. The
clinical team probed listener responding. For example, when his name was called, he looked two out
four times at the communicative partner. Greetings were also probed with Josue, he did not respond to

Becoming A Registered Nurse Take Time And Dedication
Taking the steps in becoming registered nurse take time and dedication. This profession is not for
everyone; however once you get though the many barriers, you will feel a great sense of
accomplishments. To be a great nurse you need to be able to communicate to your patients. Be
empathic for individuals who are suffering; this trait can be hard to achieve, because you are not
always able to understand what a person is going through. In other cases nurses find themselves
becoming exhausted because of the constant emotional stress. Sometimes you have to take time away,
to be able to get back to your equilibrium. Lastly, the most important trait that nurses need to have is
to be able to provide patient centered care services. You have to ... Show more content on

time job at the time. The next step was to transfer to a university that had a bachelor program. Once
she graduated with her bachelor, she made the decision to pursue graduate level education. She now
has a Master in Family Nurse Practitioner. Overall she has been practicing nursing for 26 years; as a
nurse practitioner she has spent 16 years. One value that Mrs. Shrand strongly stress about is to keep
her practice patient centered. She believes that you have to have a relationship with your patient. It
does not matter that age, gender, ethnicity. When a patient comes to you with a problem, your job is to
always give them the best care. The role she plays in the health care delivery system is to always stay
knowledgeable and current in her field. Practicing as nurse practitioner comes with a lot of
responsibility. You are working with patients that vary in so many areas. She explains that you have to
have the ability to know how and when to implement each method. The skill to be flexible is also
important as well. The unit the nurse works in is the department of primary care. Her role is to work
with veterans. She makes sure she prescribes the right prescriptions; help her patients get the right
resources and help with disease management. As for members of the healthcare team the she interact

John Keats s Poem, Ode On A Grecian Urn, And The Eve Of...
Keats covered many topics in the poems he wrote during his short life but the theme of fantasy being a
better alternative to reality was prominent throughout many of his works. To Keats the idea that,
Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter (Urn 11 12) play a major role in his poetry,
demonstrating that for him the idea of what is yet to come is far better than the actual reality of the
situation. Through the narratives and stories he tells in his poems, Ode on a Grecian Urn, Ode to a
Nightingale, and The Eve of St. Agnes, it is made evident that Keats would rather live in the fantasy
realm of his own mind than in reality. In his poem Ode on a Grecian Urn, the fantasy that Keats feels
is better than reality is displayed in the scenes decorating the urn, pictures forever frozen in time. At
the beginning of stanza two Keats writes, Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter
(Urn 11 12). In these lines Keats is saying that the anticipation of an event or experience is far better
than the actual experience itself, or rather that the reality of a situation can never truly live up to the
ideal that one has had in one s mind. To Keats, the scenes displayed on the urn are so beautiful that he
not only admires the artwork, he envies those on the urn because they will forever get to display the
scenes of Happy happy boughs (Urn 21) and, unlike he, will never have to bid the spring adieu (Urn
22). To him the urn exemplifies the

Oldest And Most Important Disciplines Of Forensics
1. Abstract
Bloodstain pattern analysis is one of the oldest and most important disciplines of forensics. Its
importance and validation increases when used in combination with other evidence in court.
2. Introduction
Bloodstain pattern analysis is the interpretation of bloodstains found at a crime scene where a
bloodshed incident had occurred. Bloodstain pattern analysis can define events that could or could not
have occurred during the incident. This means that it is possible to sequence multiple events
associated with this incident. Bloodstains are reproducible phenomena when a similar environment is
used, hence the possibility of reconstructing a crime scene.1
Bloodstain pattern analysis uses principles of biology, physics and mathematics.2 It considers blood
behaviour, cohesion, capillary action, velocity, geometry, distance and angle. External forces such as
impact and accelerated motion, cohesive forces due to surface tension and viscosity, gravity and air
resistance will affect blood in a predictable way. This allows the analyst to determine the general
nature of the event that occurred, based on the physical characteristics of bloodstain patterns.1
Reconstructing a crime scene using BPA is of high importance, since it will help include or exclude a
potential perpetrator from the investigation.
2. Background
Bloodstain pattern analysis depends on the perception and the ability of the analyst to have an
objectified opinion. Therefore, a true taxonomic BPA

Hasty Generalization Fallacy
Fallacies are an error in reasoning, a fault in one s argument that does not have the correct evidence or
facts. Fallacies are something that we commit since we were young kids, arguing with your brothers
or sisters and into our adulthood arguing with our spouse or trying to make a point in our career fields.
Many of us even commit these fallacies without realizing what we are doing, it is a learning progress
for many to realize and understand when we are using fallacy and trigger our brain to think in a
different way to avoid the trickiness of fallacies. One fallacy that could be tricky and easy to use daily
would be Hasty Generalizations, which is a fallacy that is based on assumption, which we all know we
have done at some point in our lives and can see how easy it could be to use as an automatic reaction.
Hasty Generalization according to UNC is Making assumption about a whole group or range of cases
based on a sample that is inadequate stereotypes about people When committing a Hasty
Generalization fallacy, you are assuming a conclusion or assuming that one thing is the same as all of
them in a group without knowing the proper facts to back up why your conclusion is correct. You take
your own perspective on a subject and assume you know it all without doing the proper research to
prove to someone else that you do actually know it all. During a debate with a colleague or just a
person in your family you both have had a different experience so you both are convincing

Reductionist Approach To Obesity
Obesity can be explained using both a reductionist and complex systems science approaches. While a
reductionist approach involves isolating variables to find a cause and effect relationship, a complex
systems science approach looks at adaptive and multilevel systems in context. Studies about genetics,
geographic location, and socioeconomic status show how reductionist and complex systems science
approaches can be applied to obesity Obesity can be understood using a reductionist approach by
investigating its link to genetics. One can isolate genes and discover their effect on obesity. This
reductionist approach takes obesity and breaks it down to a narrow focus that can be tested. A
reductionist approach was used in a study where researchers

The Text Euthyphro By Plato
Jeanelle Moncrieffe
Dr. Cicura
Philosophy 2010
27 September 2017 The text Euthyphro by Plato is concisely a dialogue between Socrates and
Euthyphro. Socrates confronts Euthyphro when he argues The point which I should first wish to
understand is whether the pious or holy is blocked by the gods because it is holy, or because it is
blocked by the gods (cf. pg. 31); 10a. This refers back to the Devine Command Theory and civil
religion. Civil Religion is defined as a mixture between religion and cultural relativism. Civil Religion
is an alternative version of the Divine Command Theory that declares that God s stipulations
correspond to an individual culture. The Devine command theory is defined as an action being morally
right because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Overall, Plato is saying that the action being holy and the action being divinely approved does not
have to be equal, however if they are equivalent, then they don t have to acquire an equal meaning.
Therefore, Euthyphro cannot state that what is holy and was approved by the gods does not mean the
same thing. In like manner, his argument pushes the concept of morality. One might say that what is
good is good because God says it s good. This raises the question asked by many philosophers does
God love the good because it is good, or is it good because God loves it? The simple answer is God
loves goodness because he is good therefore he commands goodness. All what is considered righteous
to God may be found in the Bible. The word of the Bible reveals what God expects from his people. It
reveals what is good in his eyes and what is considered evil. The words of the Bible portray the path
of which should be followed. It shows the path of righteousness where one may follow to be like God.
Man was created in the image of God; therefore, man was created to acquire his character. For those
reasons, God loves what is good because it is good and he is good. There are different standards for
judging the morality of something. An action is considered holy, moral or good because God loves it.
Therefore, we can assume that morality is dependent on God s will or

Christ s College can trace its ancient roots back before the (more or less) official foundation in 1505.
At first the establishment was known as God s House, founded in 1437 by William Byngham, a
London priest, with the intention of training grammar school masters. Henry VI requested this
desirable riverside site for his own King s College project, and moved God s House north, to an
agreeable location with a favour owed.
Lady Margaret takes an interest
So, in 1448 God s House moved to the current site in the very centre of Cambridge and caught the
interest of Henry s wife, Lady Margaret Beaufort. Following her husband s death and the crowning of
her son Henry VII, Lady Margaret looked around for good causes and found one in God s House. With
focused energy and a word in the ear of her son the institution was re established as Christ s College in
1505 with, what was in effect, its third Royal Charter.
The institution started life as a Catholic chantry and displayed a keen sense of survival and political
awareness to negotiate Henry VIII s rage with the pope, and the subsequent Dissolution (1536 41). By
Elizabethan times Christ s had become one of the hardcore Puritan colleges of Cambridge. In 1625
John Milton was admitted as a member he was later destined

Homelessness In Philadelphia
In the city of Philadelphia, one of the most prominent social issues is homelessness. Homelessness
simply is the state when someone does not have a physical residence and resorts to living in public
either on the street, in public places, and/or in public buildings. People often become homeless after
living in poverty for quite some time, another huge issue in the city of Philadelphia. Personally, I am
aware that walking around the city, whether on campus or downtown, I am more likely than not going
to see at least one homeless person. There has been a lot of research done on the homeless and
impoverished in Philadelphia and there were some very surprising statistics that were revealed. Based
on these statistics, many claims also regard the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One major issue with social problems is that since they are called problems, people tend to think there
is a solution. However, as we have seen with the lack of space for shelter and the Nutter policy, there
may not be one exact solution, so homelessness is more of a social condition. The statistics found in
the city conducted surveys provide the grounds for the claims about the seriousness of claims of
homelessness as a social issue in Philadelphia. The stigma associated with the homeless illustrates that
the public sees homeless people differently from others. The media coverage of the homeless frames
the news stories so that people tend to see the homeless people in a negative light. Policymakers have
attempted to resolve the social conditions revolving homelessness, but are still yet to find that perfect
solution. The outcomes of these policies show that there is yet to be a sufficient policy for the
homeless and treatment of them. Without a doubt, homelessness is a large social issue in the city of
Philadelphia and by analyzing it through the social problems process it is evident how severe an issue
it is and how difficult it is to find a

outdated in the future. Sinek s TED Talk was given five years ago in 2009, and since then Apple has

statement Sinek presents in the speech which states: Everything we do, we believe in challenging the
status quo. We believe in thinking differently. The way we challenge the status quo is by making our

The Handmaid s Tale By Margaret Atwood
Dystopian Research Essay: The Handmaid s Tale by Margaret Atwood
In the words of Erika Gottlieb With control of the past comes domination of the future. A dystopia
reflects and discusses major tendencies in contemporary society. The Handmaid s Tale is a dystopian
novel written by Margaret Atwood in 1985. The novel follows its protagonist Offred as she lives in a
society focused on physical and spiritual oppression of the female identity. Within The Handmaid s
Tale it is evident that through the exploration of free will and femininity, the dystopian novel presents
an understanding that the future is determined by the actions taken in the past and the present. These
actions are closely related to the novel s context and the characteristics that are present in the
dystopian genre. An understanding that the future is brought into existence by the past is shown
through the exploration of free will. Firstly The Handmaid s Tale reflects Atwood s historical context
where the feminist movements of the 1970s and 1980s proceeded with great triumphs for women in
the fields of politics, media and private households. This is reflected in Offred s society before the
implementation of its current regime where all these progresses have been undone and the women in
Gilead are forbidden to vote, read and write. The society focuses on physical and spiritual oppression,
manipulating the media and controlling the citizen s thoughts as a mandatory governing mechanism, a

The Life of Queen Elizabeth I Essay
The Life of Queen Elizabeth I
Queen Elizabeth was born in Greenwich Palace on September 7, 1533.
She died on March 24, 1603, of natural causes. Her father was Henry VII.
His second wife, Anne Boleyn was Elizabeth s mother. King Henry wanted a son, but received a
daughter, instead, from his second wife. Before
Elizabeth s third birthday, Henry had her mother beheaded on charges of adultery and treason.
Elizabeth was brought up in a separate household at Hatfield (not known). King Henry s third wife
gave birth to a son. This boy was named
Edward. Edward was declared first in line for King Henry s throne, while

At this time, Elizabeth s Privy council drew up a Bond of Association which pledged that its signers,
in an attempt on Elizabeth s life, would kill the assassins along with the claimant to the throne who the
attempt was made for. In the mid 1580s, it was clear that a direct military confrontation between
England and Spain was unavoidable in the near future.
Word reached London that the Spanish king, Philip II, had started to assemble together an enormous
fleet that would sail to the Netherlands, and join forces with a waiting Spanish army led by the duke of
Parma. After joining forces, this fleet would proceed to invade and probably conquer the now
protestant England.
The always conservative queen reluctantly had authorized sufficient funds to maintain a fleet of
maneuverable, well armed fighting ships, to which other ships from the merchant fleet would be
added.
In July 1588, the Invincible Armada reached the English water and the queen s ships. In one of the
most famous naval encounters of history, the queen s ships defeated the enemy fleet, which then in an
attempt to return to Spain, was all but destroyed by terrible storms.
At the time when the Spanish invasion was expected, Queen Elizabeth decided to review in person, a
detachment of soldiers assembled at Tilbury.

Charles I Turning Point
How far can the abdication of Charles I in 1555 be considered a key turning point in Spanish History
1474 1598?
After the abdication of Charles I in 1555, his son Philip II became King of Spain, leaving a country
that had experienced many difficulties through the last century. Events such as Civil rebellions, an
uncertain monarchy and non uniform religions had struck Spain, and various events had affected its
history. However, while the abdication was an important turning point in Spanish history, there are
various other events that also impacted it greatly. Events such as Ferdinand and Isabella establishing

Army Organizational Life Cycle Model
Identify and Explain the Purpose and Actions of any Four Phases of the Army Organizational Life
Cycle Model The Army s Organizational Life Cycle Model contains eight phases (U.S. Army War
College, 2015 2016). This paper identifies and explains four of those phases, acquisition, training,
distribution, and deployment. The process the U.S. Army utilizes to fill the units they design with
personnel to fight and win the nation s wars, equipment to own the air and the night, money to put fuel
into the vehicles and bullets in the weapons, and facilities to house the soldiers and their families in is
the Acquisition process. The army cannot continue without new soldiers to fill its ranks or weapons
and bullets to destroy the enemy, this phase is the building block for the Army Organizational Life
Cycle Model and helps dictate training and the rest of the model forward. Noncommissioned Offices
conduct training, but without the training carried out at the entry level schools for enlisted soldiers and
officers certifying soldiers are trained in their programmed skills, the army of today would not
function (U.S. Army War College, 2015 2016). This initial training is the training phase within the
Army Organizational Life Cycle Model, and it feeds the distribution phase. The distribution phase
allocates the trained and skilled soldiers from their training phase to their units where they are needed.

Executive Summary Since its foundation in 1971, Starbucks has been working uncompromisingly to
achieve the company objective of becoming the world s leading coffee brand. Having gone through
various stages of growing pain, today the Company is operating with over 10,000 stores in 37
countries. Starbucks success was mostly a direct result of its aggressive expansion plan, that
consequently turned the Starbucks coffee beverages into a most familiar and popular world leading
brand. Although Starbucks has been successful over the past 34 years, there are some potential

Consequently, this group of consumers possesses the greatest growth potential. In connection with this
growth potential, Starbucks also started Hear Music Coffeehouse stores that offer in store music CD
burning services. Starbucks further started to open Media Bars where customers can create their own
mix of CDs. This is Starbucks first phase of a multi phased national rollout (Starbucks, 2006). Most
likely these creative efforts will boost growth from the younger patorns and music lovers.
On the other hand, the older generations may be reluctant to be attracted to Starbucks. Rather, they
may just visit a local coffee shop instead. Therefore this market segment may not grow as fast as the
younger generations. Furthermore, a market segment that has declining potential is the busy working
professionals. Because of their busy schedule, these working professionals, males and females alike,
may just brew their own coffees in the office space. Another discouraging factor is the much higher
price of Starbucks coffee products. As a general rule, Starbucks does not offer promotional prices on
its products, which tend to be higher than those of competitors (Wikipedia, 2006). As people grow
older, they may be more conscientious to their spending. Regardless of continued future growth
potentials, Starbucks faces some drawbacks. In an effort to increase sales, Starbucks started to print

The Western Springs Fire Department Is The Low Amount Of...
Introduction
The fiscal problem that the Western Springs Fire Department has is the low amount of paid on call
firefighters. If the department looks at these different ways to receive money, they can provide
incentives to draw in future firefighters. Solutions would be to pay a higher hourly rate as well as
implement education tuition funds for the firefighters. As a result, the Department would be able to
offer more incentives to their new firefighters which would lead to increased amount firefighters that
will want to apply at this fire department. This will structure the department to stand out from the
other paid on call departments.
Body
Identify the problem
The fiscal problem is that there are not enough paid on call firefighters to respond to calls. Recruiting
more firefighters to the Western Springs Fire Department would be a benefit to the department as well
as the village. The department would have enough firefighters to control the all calls by mitigating the
problem and save life/ property. This would also eliminate the need of calling and rely on other
departments to respond to the villages own 911 call. If the fire department has extra beneficial items to
offer to the new firefighters it could attract more firefighters to join and this would stop the fiscal
problem.
Offer solutions to the problem
This Fire Department can explore multiple ways to attract future recruits into Western Springs.
Perhaps, this organization can look at other fire departments around

The Importance Of Baroque Art In Europe

Small Group Reflection
In the summer of 2013, I participated in the Calvin College Entrada Scholar program, a four week
intensive program for racial ethnic minority high school students to experience college learning and
living while earning college credit. Creating an international community was a huge theme in this
program, students were not allowed to have their computers, games, nor be on their phones. Another
way that the program encouraged community was with small group devotion with students floormates
and designated floor RA.
I remember one week, the theme within the small groups was sharing our narratives. My small group
consisted of a total of nine female students and our RA. Our discussion lasted about 2 hours that night
mainly because our RA established a safe and open environment, she was someone we loved and
trusted within a short time of knowing her.

Our small group was the definition of people that are often marginalized, minority women. I am not
saying that we were not empowered, being in that group alone after hearing everyone struggles was
empowering. However, after our discussion there was no direction to where to go from there, after
opening up. I personally could not look at others the same way after hearing their stories. A solution
would had been a follow up small group discussion before departing from the program, but with only
small group meetings once a week it is difficult to implement this idea. In addition, I understand that
our RA did not have training in social work, mentoring, or psychology, she was a Speech Path major.
In the small group the most we could do was sympathize with each other, but not truly lift them up
and congratulated them in overcoming their hardships and help them decide their next step after this

Walt Disney s Perseverance And Imagination
The Magic of Disney can be attributed to Walt Disney s perseverance and imagination. Swearing to
never create another character he didn t have the license to, he created an animation studio in Kansas,
which went bankrupt shortly after. After moving to California, he set up shop and started Disney
Brothers Cartoon Studio. One of the first real successes of the studio is a short in 1982 called
Steamboat Willie, by Les Clark, which introduced the character later known as Mickey Mouse and
was the first time audiences experienced synchronized sound (TL). Walt s death in 1966 left the
Empire in uncharted territory as the company had to learn how to fend for itself or did with Walt and
Nine Truly Old Men. They needed new talent and skilled animators, and Eric Larson was the man for
the job (W9OM).
In death Walt left $80 million behind, $38 million (47.5%) went to the founding and funding of an
animation program in Chouinard Art Institute, CalArts, room A113 (VF) (Quora). This class reaped
the benefits of Disney s monopoly on the animation industry and trained the next generation of
animators in the Disney way. This was originally Walt s goal and he was close to starting class.
However, he was inconveniently side tracked by dying and project was put on hold till Larson adopted
it. Students of this class include Tim Burton, Brad Bird, Glen Keane, Nancy Beiman and many more,
working on projects like The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Cars, and The Incredibles. The students

The Role Of Textile In Early Civilization

As people began depending more upon agriculture, this changed. Textiles were a needed product.
Women spun the yarn by using a distaff and spindle. She held the distaff which was a long rod that
held the loose fibers, along with the spindle, a little rod that revolved as she let it fall. This way of
spinning, twisted the yarn as it was wound. Women had simplified this process to allow them to
accomplish other tasks at the same time they spun the yarn. Once the yarn was spun, both men and
women would help weave the cloth for clothing. Many peoples in early civilizations used the fleece of

A distinct feature of this economic slowdown is the direct degradation of consumer s assets which has
wiped out hundreds of billions of dollars in wealth. And consumers have responded by spending
conservatively and concentrating on improving their savings. This new era of low spending and

In the next section, we have tried to quantitatively analyse GE s pre and post recession supply chain
through its financial statements and publicly available secondary information. GE was chosen because
of its enormous supply chain and global presence.
SUPPLY CHAIN BALANCED SCORECARD (SCOR: SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS
REFERENCE MODEL)
With the SCOR model we tried to compare performance of GE before and after recession and measure
the supply chain efficiency in each period based on the four dimensions Source, Plan, Make and
Deliver as shown exhibit 2. Exhibit 2: SCOR Model for Supply Chain Efficiency
The Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for each of the dimensions were identified and GE was scored
on each of these KPIs for pre recession quarter and post recession quarter. The prerecession supply
chain efficiency of GE was found to be 87.94% and that in the post recession period to be 73.12%.

The Myth Vs. The Reality In Texas
1. Explain what Jillson means by The Myth vs. The Reality in Texas? According to Cal Jillson, many
people see Texas as a successful model of small government, light regulations, and low tax, basically
an entrepreneurial state rapidly growing in population and creating jobs faster than any other state in
the nation. Unfortunately, while some of the aspects of this view are true, it is not the complete truth.
In reality at about the middle of the twentieth century, the state of Texas was fairly poor, not as poor as
the deep South states, but not as wealthy as the other states including California, Illinois, Connecticut,
New York or even Massachusetts. For example, in 1950, per capita personal income in Connecticut

States exercise police power in which gives them the authority to adopt clean air and water standards,
regulate safety in the workplaces, as well as to enforce laws that both promote and protect the health,

that the authorities can take over private property for public use just upon compensation. States
provide their citizens with many public services including schools, healthcare, law enforcement,
welfare services, public transportation, agriculture support, and conservation. These services cost the
states a great amount of money every year, the largest portion of the budget for both the state and local
governments are the more costly services including education, healthcare, transportation, and public

barrow money. Nationwide, the most important tax for state and local governments are sales, property,

the few states that does not levy personal income taxes. Lastly, the states create and control local

issues can emerge in the deficient design concepts and the daily operations of the pharmaceutical

following system deficiencies are mentioned: production system, packaging and labeling system,
facilities and equipment system, material system, and lab control. What I learnt from this paper is the
importance of supplier audit, rational design of validation method and facilities design.
Firstly, supplier audit is important. Although the author ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The good quality of the vendor s product can also help the customer to guarantee their finished
product quality.
Secondly, the rational design of validation method is very important. In the case study 1 Aseptic
Processing of a Sterile Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) , the process simulation (i.e., media
fill) program was not adequately representative of the actual manufacturing process. The process
simulation validation program is used to detect and diagnose an existing source of contamination.
However, some companies do not realize this usage, and the process simulation validation program
designed does not reflect the actual situation of production. Not just only for the simulation validation,
other validations, like analysis methodology validation, equipment performance qualification, also
exist this kind of problem, that is, the method used to validate/qualify does not have a sufficient
sensibility and representativeness. Many engineers do not know how to design the validation method;
even they do not like to perform the validation, but FDA mandates to perform validation, so some of
engineers copy with it just for FDA inspection, not for keeping the quality of production. It is clear to
cause the waste of manpower, material and financial resources. Good validation design cannot only

Using Focus Groups In Qualitative Research
In today s society, at risk youths often face challenges when reaching out to adults regarding their
personal situations, especially when it comes to them wanting someone to understand their own
perspectives. Therefore, it is important as a researcher to understand the different procedures to
research, especially when selecting an appropriate method to investigate a problem a community
faces, such as with studying youths. As a result, a researcher must follow the rule of thumb when
designing their methods to avoid ethical issues in qualitative research as well as exploring different
options to allow youths to open up to an adult researcher. However, when considering this problem,
the main goal for a researcher is to investigate what youths ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In order to understand how this method can be used in this study, then it first must be explained.
According to the text, Making Sense of the Social World, focus groups are considered as, a qualitative
method that involves unstructured group interviews in which the focus group leader actively
encourages discussion among participants on the topics of interest (Chambliss Schutt, 2016, p. 220).
Often times young adults are more open when around others of their own age, this is the main reason I
selected this method because an at risk youth is going to be more comfortable answering questions
and sharing their opinions when around a group that shares similar characteristics or life situations
compared to just a one on one conversation between them and a researcher or amongst strangers.
However, with this method there are also strengths and weaknesses when using this method. The
major strengths to focus groups are: they can save time and money compared to other methods, they
provide participants the opportunity to explain their viewpoints, it allows for participants to be more
open and give clarification on their personal and group perceptions, and they provide for a broad range
of information and data to be collected from the sample. The disadvantages to focus groups are: they
are hard to manage among a large group, there can be disagreements or unnecessary conversations
among participants that might take away from the main questions being asked, and not everyone
might what to participate or feel intimidated. Not only are their strengths and weaknesses, but also
there is also ethical concerns because it is an open group setting compared to other methods.
Therefore, the main ethical concern with focus groups is that a researcher has disclosed participants
identities to each other, which can be a concern particularly if there are sensitive topics being
discussed among one

Financing and Structuring Health Care
Financing and Structuring Health Care
(1) Three main types of Health Insurance:
The three major types of health insurance available in the US are Health Maintenance Organizations
HMOs, Point of Service plans POS, Preferred Provider Organizations PPOs. (Health Insurance
Coverage, 2010) All the three coverage options come under managed care plans wherein the health
insurers collaborate with healthcare providers to build networks. HMOs offer the most economical
health insurance coverage, however their plans are not always flexible. As they come under HMO
purview the insured has to pay monthly premium while the co payments are relatively low for hospital
and subsequent office visits. When an insured belongs to an HMO, there is a restriction to visit doctors
within his network only and any failure will entail footing the bill by the insured himself. Prior to
visiting Specialist Doctors, HMOs often need the insured to get referrals. Even visiting the Emergency
Room needs approval if one belongs to an HMO. (Health Insurance Coverage, 2010)
Nevertheless HMOs fixed rates encourage them to offer outstanding coverage for health improvement
as well as preventive care services. POS plans are comparable to HMOs on the aspect that their
domain is healthcare networks. In case the insured primary care doctor refers him to a doctor outside
the network, the insurance company will honor major part of the bill. Also, if the insured refers
himself to a doctor outside his network, the

Social Roles By Imaginary Play
When a child is asked what do they want to be when they grow up, they often respond with a
firefighter, princess, ninja, or teacher. Kids explore and learn these social roles by imaginary play in
classrooms, playrooms and in the home. No matter what make believe land this play is taking place,
children are learning how to problem solve, cooperate with others, and think flexibly. The skills it
takes to turn a pillow fort into a castle is extraordinary! When children are encouraged, rather than
repressed, to use their imaginations while playing gives them opportunities to learn about themselves
and the world, work out how to handle new situations, develop a higher order of thinking skills, and
implement knowledge learned. In imaginary play, this is one of the first opportunities children have to
explore what they like or dislike about interests or abilities. Experimenting with the role playing and
making sense out of what is being learned in daily life is expressed in imaginary play. When children
play with dolls, they often envision themselves as the doll which allows adults to see what they are
directly observing and obtaining. New situations that might be considered scary like getting shots at a
doctor s office imaginary play is used to desensitize the situation. By engaging in make believe play, it
allows them to prepare and get comfortable with what is going on. Using imaginary play is highly

Point mutations affecting the beta globin expression belong to three different categories:

What Are The Causes Of The French Revolution
The French Revolution in the eighteenth century became a significant historical event ever since this
led to important changes within France. One such change which had a major impact was the
abolishment of the old monarchy, or the end of absolute power of the monarchical form of
government, present in France at that time. Revolutionary ideas also spread out of the country,
throughout Europe, and unto the rest of the world. But what are the causes of this? Many of the
problems in France lead to the revolution and the most general cause common to all revolutions can be
found in the social structure of one s society (French Revolution, n.d.). Before the revolution, France
was ruled by powerful kings who held the supreme authority. Their authority was believed to have
been derived from God himself. In the article The Royal Government (2015), it was according to the
political doctrine of the era that France was an absolutist, divine ... Show more content on

Characteristics Of Puck In A Midsummer Night s Dream
A Midsummer Night s Dream is a comedic play about a complex love relationship between four
lovers, Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius. The king of fairies, Oberon orders a hobgoblin
named Robin Goodfellow or puck to retrieve an extraordinary flower so he can put the juice into the
queen of fairies, Titania s eyes. This was an exceptional flower because when the juice is applied to a
person s eyelid, it makes them fall in love with the first creature they see. Robin obtains the flower and
drops the juice onto Titania, Demetrius, and Lysander s eyelids where they fall in love with the wrong
person. Titania falls in love with a weaver named Bottom, and Demetrius and Lysander fall in love
with Helena. Hermia starts to argue with Helena ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robin is the hero of the play and is an amazing character.
In A Midsummer Night s Dream, there are many different choices that affect the storyline of the play.
One major choice that affected the storyline is when Robin anointed Demetrius and Lysander with the
juice of the flower. As a result of this happening, they both fell in love with Helena. Angry of jealousy,
Hermia started to fight Helena. Another action that majorly affected the plot was the fact Oberon
wanted to take the Indian boy away from Titania, so he comes up with the idea to put the flower juice
on her eyelids. Without this scheme, there would be no conflict and no solution to the problem
between the four lovers. Also, the fact that Robin agreed to anoint the liquid to the three characters
eyelids was a crucial part of the plot. If Robin were to decline the offer, there would be no storyline.
Also, fate made Hermia and Lysander love each other which helped the play. Those were some
choices the characters made that heavily affected the story of the play.
The theme of A Midsummer Night s Dream is magic. The reason the theme of the play is magic is
because throughout the play, the main subject is how it shaped the characters lives. One example of
magic is the love potion . This love potion makes anyone fall in love with the first creature they see if
it is anointed on someone s eyelids. This potion made Demetrius, Titania, and Lysander fall under a

After learning these mysteria, members were considered reborn or born again. Christianity in fact
began along these lines of practice. Its most important ceremony, the Mass or Eucharist, in which the
body and blood of Christ were symbolically eaten in the forms of bread and wine, was forbidden to all
but a select few who had completed three levels of initiation. Most early Christians, whether of Jewish
or Gentile origin, would have been familiar the concept of mysteria. Throughout the Mediterranean
world, religious communities based on this idea of secret teachings thrived.
Another common element in the mystery religions was their tendency to worship the divine on what
we today would think of as a higher spiritual level than standard Greek and Roman religions did. The
idea of a spiritual world as separate from the material world, first promoted by Plato, was fully
adopted by the mystery religions and provided them with a basis for belief in life after death.
Conversely, ancient Greco Roman religion and Judaism contained nothing that addressed this new
concept of separate worlds. Traditional public worship in both Jewish and Gentile communities
generally emphasized the material world in its requests for good crops, healthy children and success in
business. Worship in a closed

The Crunch By Charles Bukowski
In the poem, The Crunch by Charles Bukowski, it talks about some of the major topics that are
important to us in this world. The poem explains how some people can feel insecure about themselves.
People believe they need to look perfect to succeed in life. The poem says the world has a sense of
loneliness and how people are not the same anymore. Charles Bukowski explains the many problems
that people are having, however it seems it is all mental. Charles Bukowski s work displays how the
people are living with a lack of happiness. People are just not being nice to people, no matter who you
are. People just are not good to each other one on one. The rich are not good to the rich the poor are
not good to the poor. By treating people poorly,

Summary Of The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll
In Macbeth, Macbeth killed for the short lived reign of power he gained and ultimately is killed. In
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dr. Jekyll experimented the curiosity from his youth to
separate his dark side from him only for Mr. Hyde, Jekyll s evil personality, trying to overcome Jekyll
before their death. In both works of literature, Macbeth and Jekyll are both faced with their own
conflicting forces that could lead to destruction. Because Macbeth had his wife and the prophecy as
forces, the reader was able to understand how a person changes his whole personality when power is
just in reach to achieve and how much damage peer pressure can make on a person. Dr. Jekyll had the
curiosity of his youth and the potion as forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jekyll. The potion was created in order for Dr. Jekyll to turn into Mr. Hyde and vice versa, he had to
consume a certain potion, and after a while, it was causing Mr. Hyde to appear more often. When Mr.
Utterson and Mr. Poole was trying to get into Dr. Jekyll s laboratory, Mr. Hyde/Dr. Jekyll was Crying
night and day for some sort of medicine and cannot get it to his mind..., but every time the drug was
delivered, There would be another paper telling me to return it, because it was not pure... (Stevenson
pg. 45). Unfortunately, by the time his colleagues got into the lab, he had killed himself. In Jekyll s
confession statement, he wrote that I knew well that I risked death; for any drug that so potently
controlled and shook the very fortress of identity... (Stevenson pg. 66) and had on one occasion gone
to bed Henry Jekyll, I had awakened Edward Hyde (Stevenson pg. 72). He also wrote that he had
voluntarily stripped myself of all those balancing instincts by which even the worst of us continues to
walk with some degree of steadiness among temptations; and in my case, to be tempted, however
slightly, was to fall (Stevenson pg. 76). The potion had become addicting to Jekyll like modern day
drugs one time can get anyone hooked for life. Because of the drug, he continued to turn himself into
Mr. Hyde, knowing the risks that could

Monetary Policy
Monetary Policy at the Local and Federal Level Impact in a Recession
Monetary policy, in the short run, has an impact toward the demand for goods and services. That is,
monetary policy has a distinct influence over inflation and other economic factors, not only at the
federal level, but at the state and citywide levels. Monetary policy will influence the financial
conditions facing firms and households in the environment, even at the micro level. Thus, employees
who produce goods and services are impacted, as is the demand for those goods and services. When
monetary policy imposes changes, the financial conditions that affect the economic activity in specific
sectors are influenced as well. The federal government, through fiscal policies ... Show more content

Of course, this is felt throughout the entire economy, at the state and local levels, and in
macroeconomics at the federal level. Individuals are dramatically impacted when stocks rise or fall.
The focus is on when stocks fall and there is a crippling impact on the individuals and their financial
worth. During a recession, the stock market has likely fallen, where one may notice the impact
throughout the local environment as individuals struggle to compensate for their losses. Therefore, one
is likely to see monetary policy in order to make adjustments and fix what is out of alignment in the

The Domains Of It Infrastructure
In this paper we will discuss some cases within the Seven Domains of IT infrastructure in which some
bad things that could happen. Most cases are within the possibility of reality while some are very far
out there and most likely would not happen. This is based on a Kansas Marketing Firm. The first
domain is the user domain. The most logical thing that could go wrong is that an employee could and
most likely will at some point, forget security policies and accidentally exposed the networks to
malicious files or code. This is done by uploading something off a foreign data transfer device such as
a flash drive. This could cause problems with the entire system if the malicious program is a virus. A
more non logical problem would be if a disgruntled employee purposely tries to take down the system
or steals information that is considered sensitive. While this happens it is less logical than accidently
exposure. The worst thing that could happen is that the malicious code wipes out your servers,
removes all data and causes massive production loss and most likely a loss of profit. This is countered
with strong policies and physical security to derail these problems. The second domain is the
workstation domain. The threats to this would be similar to the first domain because if a user does
something malicious on that workstation, it would affect a larger area of the domain. Another problem
is that workstations run programs that are susceptible to bugs and crashes. If

Although the climate affects window performance other factors in the environment should be
considered, too. For example, If your home is in a heavily shaded area, less direct sunlight hits your
window panes. You need windows that perform based on the climate and the surroundings.
The New Jersey climate varies greatly from season to season. We have frigid winter weather and hot,
humid summers. There are three glass options in the Renewal by Andersen portfolio with excellent
SHGC ratings; all work well in our climate, but each one has unique benefits depending on your
personal environment.

which gives you greater control over the interior lighting in your home.

10) {14, 6, 15} ∩[pic] = {14, 6, 15}
Find the probability.
11) A lottery game has balls numbered 1 through 15. What is the probability that a randomly selected
ball is an even numbered ball or an 8?
Even numbers between 1 15 are , 2,4,6,8,10,12,14 = 7 numbers which includes an 8 too
So the probability of selecting an even number is 7/15
12) The following data show the list price, x, in thousands of dollars, and the dealer invoice price, y,
also in thousands of dollars, for a variety of sport utility vehicles. Find a linear equation that
approximates the data, using the points (16.5, 16.1) and (20.0, 18.3).
|List Price |Dealer Invoice Price |
|16.5 |16.1 |
|17.6 |17.0 |
|20.7 |18.2 |
|23.1 |19.3 |
|20.0 |18.3 |
|24.6 |21.0 |
Given points (16.5, 16.1) and (20.0, 18.3)
Slope = (18.3 16.1)/(20 16.5) = 0.629
Now equation of line is given by

The Benefits Of Capital Gains And The Values Of Money
Capital gains are effectively just money earned for having money in the first place and investing it
wisely. Capital gains are realized once an investor sells their stocks in a publicly traded company, and
are the way in which thousands of wealthy Americans become even richer. The term capital gains also
applies to money received from index funds, which are a type of mutual fund with a portfolio
constructed to match or track the components of a market index (CITE). This means that by depositing
money into an index fund, that money is invested in a wide variety high performing companies. Then,
when that money is withdrawn, the owner receives capital gains, just like an individual investor
would. Many upper middle class and wealthy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a glaring flaw and one that blatantly allows the wealthy to become wealthier, with no checks
on that wealth. Unfortunately, this policy does not just aid the wealthy, but it hurts the poor and middle
class that use public goods that are funded by taxes. Demonstrating this, the Congressional Budget
Office (CBO), predicts that Normalizing the capital gains tax rate so that it s the same as the income
tax rate is an easy way to bring a lot of money into the public fisc some $161 billion per year (CITE).
For comparison, the poorest 50% of Americans paid a total of $34 billion in taxes in 2013. Taxing
capital gains as if it were normal income would remove the tool that the rich and powerful use to
become even more rich and powerful, as well as inject billions of into public projects. Therefore, it
would go far in solving the issue of wealth inequality that we face today. Fortunately, this issue is very
simple to solve. All that is required is for the federal government to treat capital gains as normal
income. Subsequently, public projects and systems that are currently suffering with little money,
would receive an incredible boost. However, there is still opposition to these ideas among wealthy
Americans, Congressmen, and voters. Several arguments are used in opposition to some of the
policies that have been suggested in this paper, and in the next few paragraphs, I will refute the
common opponents. The first of these opposing viewpoints

One reason for the variation can be traced to the characteristics of the industries in which companies operate. For example, some industries require large investments in property, plant, and equipment (PP E), while others require very little. In some industries, the competitive productpricing structure permits companies to earn significant profits per sales dollar, while in other industries the product pricing structure imposes a much lower profit margin. In most low margin industries, however, companies often experience a relatively high rate of product throughput. A second reason for some of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. John Keats s Poem, Ode On A Grecian Urn, And The Eve Of... Keats covered many topics in the poems he wrote during his short life but the theme of fantasy being a better alternative to reality was prominent throughout many of his works. To Keats the idea that, Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter (Urn 11 12) play a major role in his poetry, demonstrating that for him the idea of what is yet to come is far better than the actual reality of the situation. Through the narratives and stories he tells in his poems, Ode on a Grecian Urn, Ode to a Nightingale, and The Eve of St. Agnes, it is made evident that Keats would rather live in the fantasy realm of his own mind than in reality. In his poem Ode on a Grecian Urn, the fantasy that Keats feels is better than reality is displayed in the scenes decorating the urn, pictures forever frozen in time. At the beginning of stanza two Keats writes, Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter (Urn 11 12). In these lines Keats is saying that the anticipation of an event or experience is far better than the actual experience itself, or rather that the reality of a situation can never truly live up to the ideal that one has had in one s mind. To Keats, the scenes displayed on the urn are so beautiful that he not only admires the artwork, he envies those on the urn because they will forever get to display the scenes of Happy happy boughs (Urn 21) and, unlike he, will never have to bid the spring adieu (Urn 22). • 6. Oldest And Most Important Disciplines Of Forensics 1. Abstract Bloodstain pattern analysis is one of the oldest and most important disciplines of forensics. Its importance and validation increases when used in combination with other evidence in court. 2. Introduction Bloodstain pattern analysis is the interpretation of bloodstains found at a crime scene where a bloodshed incident had occurred. Bloodstain pattern analysis can define events that could or could not have occurred during the incident. This means that it is possible to sequence multiple events associated with this incident. Bloodstains are reproducible phenomena when a similar environment is used, hence the possibility of reconstructing a crime scene.1 Bloodstain pattern analysis uses principles of biology, physics and mathematics.2 It considers blood behaviour, cohesion, capillary action, velocity, geometry, distance and angle. External forces such as impact and accelerated motion, cohesive forces due to surface tension and viscosity, gravity and air resistance will affect blood in a predictable way. This allows the analyst to determine the general nature of the event that occurred, based on the physical characteristics of bloodstain patterns.1 Reconstructing a crime scene using BPA is of high importance, since it will help include or exclude a potential perpetrator from the investigation. 2. Background Bloodstain pattern analysis depends on the perception and the ability of the analyst to have an objectified opinion. Therefore, a true taxonomic BPA ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fallacies are something that we commit since we were young kids, arguing with your brothers or sisters and into our adulthood arguing with our spouse or trying to make a point in our career fields. Many of us even commit these fallacies without realizing what we are doing, it is a learning progress for many to realize and understand when we are using fallacy and trigger our brain to think in a different way to avoid the trickiness of fallacies. One fallacy that could be tricky and easy to use daily would be Hasty Generalizations, which is a fallacy that is based on assumption, which we all know we have done at some point in our lives and can see how easy it could be to use as an automatic reaction. Socrates confronts Euthyphro when he argues The point which I should first wish to understand is whether the pious or holy is blocked by the gods because it is holy, or because it is blocked by the gods (cf. pg. 31); 10a. This refers back to the Devine Command Theory and civil religion. Civil Religion is defined as a mixture between religion and cultural relativism. Overall, Plato is saying that the action being holy and the action being divinely approved does not have to be equal, however if they are equivalent, then they don t have to acquire an equal meaning. Therefore, Euthyphro cannot state that what is holy and was approved by the gods does not mean the same thing. In like manner, his argument pushes the concept of morality. One might say that what is good is good because God says it s good. This raises the question asked by many philosophers does God love the good because it is good, or is it good because God loves it? The simple answer is God loves goodness because he is good therefore he commands goodness. All what is considered righteous to God may be found in the Bible. The word of the Bible reveals what God expects from his people. It reveals what is good in his eyes and what is considered evil. The words of the Bible portray the path of which should be followed. It shows the path of righteousness where one may follow to be like God. Man was created in the image of God; therefore, man was created to acquire his character. For those reasons, God loves what is good because it is good and he is good. There are different standards for judging the morality of something. An action is considered holy, moral or good because God loves it. Therefore, we can assume that morality is dependent on God s will or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With focused energy and a word in the ear of her son the institution was re established as Christ s College in 1505 with, what was in effect, its third Royal Charter. The statistics found in the city conducted surveys provide the grounds for the claims about the seriousness of claims of homelessness as a social issue in Philadelphia. The stigma associated with the homeless illustrates that the public sees homeless people differently from others. The media coverage of the homeless frames the news stories so that people tend to see the homeless people in a negative light. Policymakers have attempted to resolve the social conditions revolving homelessness, but are still yet to find that perfect solution. The outcomes of these policies show that there is yet to be a sufficient policy for the homeless and treatment of them. A dystopia reflects and discusses major tendencies in contemporary society. The Handmaid s Tale is a dystopian novel written by Margaret Atwood in 1985. The novel follows its protagonist Offred as she lives in a society focused on physical and spiritual oppression of the female identity. Within The Handmaid s Tale it is evident that through the exploration of free will and femininity, the dystopian novel presents an understanding that the future is determined by the actions taken in the past and the present. These actions are closely related to the novel s context and the characteristics that are present in the dystopian genre. An understanding that the future is brought into existence by the past is shown through the exploration of free will. Firstly The Handmaid s Tale reflects Atwood s historical context where the feminist movements of the 1970s and 1980s proceeded with great triumphs for women in the fields of politics, media and private households. This is reflected in Offred s society before the implementation of its current regime where all these progresses have been undone and the women in Gilead are forbidden to vote, read and write. The society focuses on physical and spiritual oppression, manipulating the media and controlling the citizen s thoughts as a mandatory governing mechanism, a common dystopian ... The process the U.S. Army utilizes to fill the units they design with personnel to fight and win the nation s wars, equipment to own the air and the night, money to put fuel into the vehicles and bullets in the weapons, and facilities to house the soldiers and their families in is the Acquisition process. If the department looks at these different ways to receive money, they can provide incentives to draw in future firefighters. As a result, the Department would be able to offer more incentives to their new firefighters which would lead to increased amount firefighters that will want to apply at this fire department. One of the first real successes of the studio is a short in 1982 called Steamboat Willie, by Les Clark, which introduced the character later known as Mickey Mouse and was the first time audiences experienced synchronized sound (TL). According to the text, Making Sense of the Social World, focus groups are considered as, a qualitative method that involves unstructured group interviews in which the focus group leader actively encourages discussion among participants on the topics of interest (Chambliss Schutt, 2016, p. 220). Often times young adults are more open when around others of their own age, this is the main reason I selected this method because an at risk youth is going to be more comfortable answering questions and sharing their opinions when around a group that shares similar characteristics or life situations compared to just a one on one conversation between them and a researcher or amongst strangers. However, with this method there are also strengths and weaknesses when using this method. The major strengths to focus groups are: they can save time and money compared to other methods, they provide participants the opportunity to explain their viewpoints, it allows for participants to be more open and give clarification on their personal and group perceptions, and they provide for a broad range of information and data to be collected from the sample. The disadvantages to focus groups are: they are hard to manage among a large group, there can be disagreements or unnecessary conversations among participants that might take away from the main questions being asked, and not everyone might what to participate or feel intimidated. Not only are their strengths and weaknesses, but also there is also ethical concerns because it is an open group setting compared to other methods. In the second part it will be shown that the mystery religions helped to clear the pathway for the Christianization of the Greco Roman world by men such as Paul the Apostle. Finally, the Emperor Constantine s role in this story will be mentioned, during whose reign the mystery religions declined and Christianity became the major religion of Europe and the near east. The paper will conclude with a brief speculation about the significance of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After learning these mysteria, members were considered reborn or born again. Christianity in fact began along these lines of practice. Its most important ceremony, the Mass or Eucharist, in which the body and blood of Christ were symbolically eaten in the forms of bread and wine, was forbidden to all but a select few who had completed three levels of initiation. Most early Christians, whether of Jewish or Gentile origin, would have been familiar the concept of mysteria. Throughout the Mediterranean world, religious communities based on this idea of secret teachings thrived. Another common element in the mystery religions was their tendency to worship the divine on what we today would think of as a higher spiritual level than standard Greek and Roman religions did. The idea of a spiritual world as separate from the material world, first promoted by Plato, was fully adopted by the mystery religions and provided them with a basis for belief in life after death. Conversely, ancient Greco Roman religion and Judaism contained nothing that addressed this new concept of separate worlds. Traditional public worship in both Jewish and Gentile communities generally emphasized the material world in its requests for good crops, healthy children and success in business. • 44. The Domains Of It Infrastructure In this paper we will discuss some cases within the Seven Domains of IT infrastructure in which some bad things that could happen. Most cases are within the possibility of reality while some are very far out there and most likely would not happen. This is based on a Kansas Marketing Firm. The first domain is the user domain. The most logical thing that could go wrong is that an employee could and most likely will at some point, forget security policies and accidentally exposed the networks to malicious files or code. This is done by uploading something off a foreign data transfer device such as a flash drive. This could cause problems with the entire system if the malicious program is a virus. A more non logical problem would be if a disgruntled employee purposely tries to take down the system or steals information that is considered sensitive. While this happens it is less logical than accidently exposure. The worst thing that could happen is that the malicious code wipes out your servers, removes all data and causes massive production loss and most likely a loss of profit. This is countered with strong policies and physical security to derail these problems. The second domain is the workstation domain. The threats to this would be similar to the first domain because if a user does something malicious on that workstation, it would affect a larger area of the domain. Another problem is that workstations run programs that are susceptible to bugs and crashes. If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. The Benefits Of Capital Gains And The Values Of Money Capital gains are effectively just money earned for having money in the first place and investing it wisely. Capital gains are realized once an investor sells their stocks in a publicly traded company, and are the way in which thousands of wealthy Americans become even richer. The term capital gains also applies to money received from index funds, which are a type of mutual fund with a portfolio constructed to match or track the components of a market index (CITE). This means that by depositing money into an index fund, that money is invested in a wide variety high performing companies. Then, when that money is withdrawn, the owner receives capital gains, just like an individual investor would. Many upper middle class and wealthy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a glaring flaw and one that blatantly allows the wealthy to become wealthier, with no checks on that wealth. Unfortunately, this policy does not just aid the wealthy, but it hurts the poor and middle class that use public goods that are funded by taxes. Demonstrating this, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), predicts that Normalizing the capital gains tax rate so that it s the same as the income tax rate is an easy way to bring a lot of money into the public fisc some $161 billion per year (CITE). For comparison, the poorest 50% of Americans paid a total of $34 billion in taxes in 2013. Taxing capital gains as if it were normal income would remove the tool that the rich and powerful use to become even more rich and powerful, as well as inject billions of into public projects. Therefore, it would go far in solving the issue of wealth inequality that we face today. Fortunately, this issue is very simple to solve. All that is required is for the federal government to treat capital gains as normal income. Subsequently, public projects and systems that are currently suffering with little money, would receive an incredible boost. However, there is still opposition to these ideas among wealthy Americans, Congressmen, and voters. Several arguments are used in opposition to some of the policies that have been suggested in this paper, and in the next few paragraphs, I will refute the common opponents. The first of these opposing viewpoints ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
