The Sampling Interval For The Current Clamps
The sampling interval for the current clamps can be changed depending on what we want to know. For the air
compressor we may log more frequently, for example every five seconds, if we find that the compressor is switching
mode very frequently, otherwise logging at 60 second intervals may be enough. The purpose of the continuous
measurement will also affect the logging interval. If the first visit gives us the impression that the compressed air
system is an important part of the energy use, we may measure more carefully to have enough information to suggest
detailed measures. The drawing of the electric
(Table 3. Example of plan for energy measurements to allocate electricity use to unit processes.)
In this case we will have a measurement from a switchgear cabinet that covers several unit processes, for example
lighting and forklift charging for a garage and picking stock, as shown in Figure 8. The data from clamp no. 1 in the
switchgear must be complemented by simulta‐ neous measurements from clamps 2 and 3 in the distribution board,
where clamp 2 measures the total incoming current to the Central Garage board and clamp 3 measures the outgoing
current to the forklift chargers. Later, the data from clamp 2 in the Central Garage distribution board can be
subtracted from clamp 1 in the switchgear to get a picture of the energy use in Central Picking Stock and Central
Large Hall. At the same time you have parallel measurements of the air compressor from clamp no 4. The clamp

Hitler s Fall And Defeat Of The World War II
The Second World War is absolutely understood as one of the most impactful events within the last century. From
the horrendous murderous acts of the Holocaust to the unveiling of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, the war was
anything but boring. Every stage of the war proved to be more significant than the previous, and the ultimate end of
World War II is what historians tend to focus on even more than all other stages of the war. The fall and defeat of the
German Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler, is still under investigation and analysis from almost all academia historians. Hitler
s fall and Germany s defeat is what is most impactful about the ending of World War II and the reasoning behind its
happening. Although the defeat of Germany in World War II can be attributed towards a myriad of reasons, two of
the most significant reasons were Hitler s stubbornness to seize oil to power his army, and the strategic bombing of
Germany and German occupied lands by the Allied Forces. Both of these systems can be directly related towards the
defeat of Hitler and the victory of the Allied Forces in World War II. Prior to his invasion and betrayal of the USSR,
Adolf Hitler relied heavily on Josef Stalin and his oil resources. Specifically in the Azerbaijan city of Baku, oil was a
commodity that was worshiped by its townspeople, and was drilled, packaged and sent to the German and Russian
forces. Baku was so rich in oil that it would extract almost 25 million tons of oil for the first year of the

What The Bourgeoisie Essay
Title: What the bourgeoisie...produces...is its own grave diggers. Its fall and the victory of the proletariat are equally
inevitable. Consider this statement with reference to the pattern of class struggle that Marx sees appearing under
capitalism.
Through my analysis of Marx and Engel s The Communist Manifesto I have come to somewhat agree with their
view that in the end the Proletariat always come out on top. It seems to me that it is nothing but a vicious circle .
Marx comments that through our history there has always been evidence of two classes, in other words: the rich and
the poor, he makes the claim that there has forever been the server and the served: ...we find almost everywhere a
complicated arrangement of society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marx discusses in this piece the ever changing nature of systems, from the Feudal system to the manufacturing
system to the Industrial system, The feudal system of industry...now no longer sufficed...The manufacturing system
took it s place...Thereupon, steam and machinery revolutionised industrial production. (D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP
1977) pg 223. Therefore the middle man was cut out, he was no longer important, the division between the powerful
and powerless grew to become much more. The place of manufacture was taken by the giant, Modern Industry, the
place of the industrial middle class, by industrial millionaires, the leaders of the whole industrial armies, the modern
bourgeois.
Marx, in my opinion alludes that the Bourgeois have ruined many of the more caring and loving parts of our society.
The family is an institution that has been present for many centuries, people associate the family as the core of a
person s development, the way a person is brought up essentially shapes the rest of one s life, the person one
become, the way one live one s life and the way in which one s relationships develop in adult life. The bourgeoisie
has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation.
(D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 224. I disagree with this statement, of course I grasp that money is extremely
important

Powerful Women of Homer s Odyssey Essay
The Powerful Women of Homer s Odyssey
Homer s Odyssey depicts women as strong subjects they are real substantive characters. Women in this poem are
tough, strong willed and are treated with the respect and seriousness they deserve. Homer characterizes the women
in his poem as the real counterparts of men they have real feelings, real plans and are able to accomplish them on
their own.
Some of the more impressive and intriguing women in the book are Nausicaa, Arete, Circe, Calypso, Penelope,
Helen and Athena.

Circe and Calypso, while very tricky and sly, are still very strong feminine characters. Circe takes Odysseus crew
and turns them into swine; when Odysseus is able to resist her spell, due to the Moly he had been given by Hermes,
she is dismayed and takes him as her lover. She is mysterious and seductive and is strong even up against Odysseus.
Calypso is a sea nymph who keeps Odysseus captive for nine years, hoping to make him her husband. She is a strong
willed temptress whose sultry ways are able to reel in even the most determined man.
Penelope and Helen are the real human women who can steal men s hearts with their own feminine ways and they
never let their man go. Helen stole the heart of Paris and later married Menelaus the love that Paris had for Helen
began the long Trojan War. Even with her shaded past, Helen is able to live her life as a proper adjusted middle class
matron. Penelope and Odysseus were only together for a few years before he was sent off to war and, while he was
gone for over twenty years, his love for her lasted. Penelope is the symbol of marital fidelity, of trust, honor and
devotion.
Lastly, there is Athena who is a strong woman, a

Causes Of Recidivism
In Today s society former offenders are reverting back to criminal activity, leading to a reoccurring issue within the
U.S. criminal justice system. These former offenders are reentering society with little or no progress after prison.
Recidivism Law and Legal Definition (N.d.) defines the term recidivism as the tendency to lapse into a previous
pattern of behavior, especially a pattern of criminal habits. Specifically, to rearrests, reconviction, or reincarnate
former inmates. Currently, there is no single cause for recidivism. However, a few explanations for recidivism may
include, the lack of education, inability to obtain employment, and psychological dysfunctions inherited during
incarceration. Education provides access to economic and social success in any field of life. Commonly, inmate s
ender prison with very low skill levels. So forth, official statistics show over fifty percent of both male and female
offenders do not have any educational skills. In Today s Society education and incarceration inevitably cycle back to
one another. For instance, in neighborhoods in towns that spend millions of dollars to lock up residents, the
education department suffers more. Hence, zip codes to high rates of incarceration can be linked to low performing
schools. Thus, poor communities suffer the most, leading to poor education systems in the community. Specifically,
Hawkins (2010) reports sixty eight percent of the Los Angeles high performing schools are in neighborhoods with

Me: Thank you for allowing me to interview you. I would like to ask you about the subject of the Cold War. At the
end, I will also be asking a couple personal questions.
Question 1: What was the first time you remember hearing about the conflict between the Soviet Union (or the
USSR) and the United States? Tell me about it.
Rebecca: Well, I cannot really remember the first time that I heard about the conflict between the Soviet Union and
the United States. If I think about it, I think that this knowledge was something that I kind of just absorbed...but did
not really understand because no one really took the time to explain the situation to young children when I was
young. I also really do not remember learning much about the conflict while I was in school.
Strangely enough, I remember hiding in a closet one time, and trying to figure out how I was going to hide and hold
my breath, when the Russians came . I was trying to figure out how I could be so quiet that they would not find me
when they came to search the house. I also remember thinking that the Russians were somewhere not that far away,
where they could easily travel into Indiana and invade and take over.

Food Quality And The Microbiological And Chemical Analysis...
Abstract
This report covers the key topics surrounding food quality. It covers the consumers perspective and the industry
standards regarding food quality and the microbiological and chemical analysis of foods. This report also includes
the results collected food analysis over a six week period and worksheets related to each experiment. The analysis
includes the examining of commercial and student canned chickpeas, tomatoes and apples for Vitamin C, Sodium,
Moisture, Fat, Protein and Sulphur Dioxide content. From these results the factors affecting reliability and validity
are discussed. Due to inaccurate and unreliable results Sodium and Sulphur Dioxide analysis have been removed.
Food Quality Consumers Perspective and Industry Standards
Summary
This section focuses on the consumers perspective and the industry standards regarding food quality. It addresses the
requirement for food quality methods, the definitions of food quality and its characteristics and discusses the
limitations within the methods used and the challenges that are faced in the food industry.
Introduction
Food quality is the quality characteristics of food perceived by the consumer; this can include the appearance,
flavour, texture and microbiological standards (Migliore et al., 2015). There are many definitions of food quality.
Phillip Crosby defines quality as the conformance to requirements, not goodness (Crosby, 1979). However, the
customers perception of the quality of the food can

Reasons For Preventing Delays For Closing Delays
You accepted the offer and the buyer have agreed with the closing date, hopefully with any closing delays. The final
goal for both the seller and the buyer is have all parties involve dint he process to prevent any closing delays. The
delays aren t always caused by the seller or the buyer. In some cases the delays are due to the lender or financial
instructions and how long they take to process the loan and close.
In California the escrow instructions have different procedures, for instant southern California signs on the front end,
while northern California signs on the back end. Before anything happens all of the terms of the purchase agreement
need to be met, the seller deposits the deed and the buyer deposits the funds.
Many of the causes for closing delays can be prevented and correctly quickly with planning and communications.
Some common errors causing closing delays include documentation, incorrect amounts stated on the required
funding, or findings from the buyers final walk through of the home before closing.
7 Ways To Avoid Closing Delays On Your Home Sale

Distraction Of Technology Essay
The Distraction of Technology
While Technology gives us many opportunities, it is a major distraction because it causes distractions in the
classroom, dangers while driving, and weakens in person relationships. So with all the opportunities technology
gives us, why are we so distracted? How does it affect students learning ability? What type of threat to our safety
does it pose while driving? How does it affect our in person relationships? Technology distracts students from their
education because it causes them to be more plugged into their devices than their education lower their grades. A
paper published by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that students barred from using digital devices
or laptops in lectures did better on their exams than those using computers and access the internet. The study also
found that forty seven percent of heavy technology users were found to have poor grades. So is it just college

Humanitarianism Is A Complex Task
Humanitarianism is a complex task; there is no universal definition. It s noble that you ve decided to dedicate
yourself to serving those from all abroad who most need your support. But it s important that we think about
humanitarianism from various perspectives. It ll ensure you dedicate yourself to the realm of humanitarianism that
best suits your viewpoints and beliefs. We can understand humanitarianism by framing it against three categories:
pure, alchemical, and intervention. Pure humanitarianism can be understood through the work of MSF individuals
who strive for neutrality to gain permission to serve in hostile environments. This form of humanitarianism seeks to
help those in need while relegating the importance politics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Humanitarian organizations must be in certain areas that the donors are paying attention to. These organizations are
essentially controlled by financial interests. MSF, a pure humanitarian organization, can operate in volatile regions.
Certain donors might not see real value in placing their money in uncertainty that an unstable region presents. NGOs
dependent on donor financing will not be able to adequately support the people of these regions who are in dire need
of aid.
In continuing to define pure humanitarianism by explaining what it is not, we ll delve into institutionalization. We
can understand contemporary humanitarians by their commitment to defending their own institutional interest, as
well as the degree to which that commitment influences the way they conceive of providing help to people in need.
Humanitarian actors might not be willing to provide aid if it means violating their own interests. This further takes
away from the goal of humanitarianism of providing universal aid. Increasingly bureaucratic humanitarian
organizations are becoming more subjective in who can be helped and how interests can be elevated as a result.
Alchemical humanitarians ask the question, what [happens] after survival? Beforehand, humanitarian organizations
would simply close shop and head for the next disaster... Alchemical humanitarians sought to find the causes that led
to disasters

College Students Are Well Known For Being Creative
College students are well known for being creative with ways to make money by creating new products and services.
A Massachusetts college student is facing pressure of getting discipline actions for listing up his dorm room at
Airbnb for renting as a way of making some money. According to the article Emerson student could face disciplinary
action after renting out his dorm room on Airbnb from Boston.com, Jack Worth, a 19 year old sophomore studying
visual and media at Emerson College, provides his dorm rooms to three renters before he gets caught (Hoover,
2016). The reporter uses both epideictic and pathos to lure readers attention about the story, but she neither states her
opinions over situation nor focuses on the target audience.
Firstly, Hoover successfully draws attention by using two methods to show two sides of the story. She opens with
pathos by stating the reason that leads Jack Worth to come across the idea of renting out his room, Living in Boston
isn t cheap, Emerson is a fantastic location; there is a high level of interest of travel in this neighborhood because it s
so centrally located, I saw this as a way to make some money, but also help some people out (para 3). Hoover then
uses epideictic by quoting Emerson College as another side of the situation, The Emerson College Residence Hall
policy and the housing contract that undergraduate residents sign prohibit students from subleasing or renting
College housing units or beds to protect residents

Divine Intervention in Homer s Epic Poem, The Iliad Essay
The gods and goddesses that the Greek people believe in make up the
Greek mythology studied today. These divine characters represent a family
living on Mount Olympus who intervene frequently in the lives of the human
characters in Greek plays. They are omnipresent, for they are always observing
mans actions and working through human nature. The gods are a higher power, and
provide explanations for otherwise unexplainable events. The gods help humans
in trouble and give them guidance about the future. The Olympians influence men
on earth both psychologically and physically. In Homer s epic poem, The Iliad,

This intervention is the greatest assist of a divine power to a human being in
The Iliad.
Athena also plays an influential role in the battles of Diomedes.
Martin Mueller reveals, Athena is closest to Diomedes. She is with him at
the beginning and end of his aristeia and she addresses him without disguise
(136). Athena also urges Diomedes to fight Aphrodite. With this command, she
removes the cloud from his eyes which made him able to see the gods.
Furthermore, as Robert Graves states, She put fresh strength into his legs and
arms, which allowed him to sustain in battle with Aphrodite (104). Athena
instructs Diomedes not to attack any other gods; but, Diomedes does not take her
advice, and fights against Apollo and other gods, which causes Diomedes to
retreat until he is saved by being reunited with Athena. This powerful goddess
assistsd Diomedes greatly as she does the other characters in The Iliad.
Another Greek warrior who is helped by Athena was Pandaros. Athena
encourages him to break the truce with Menelaos , but, as Steiner states,
This does not lessen his own responsibility for his treachery He is a fool to
be persuaded (46). Then, she switches to Menelaos side, to prevent any
serious harm from the arrow that was shot. Athena protects

The Black Walnut Tree Figurative Language
In The Roots
There is a conflict between practicality and sentimentality conveyed through the use of both literal and figurative
language by poet Mary Oliver in The Black Walnut Tree. There is an alternation from a debate between mother and
daughter rationalizing reasons of selling the black walnut tree that sits in the family s backyard in order to pay off
their mortgage, to the symbolic viewing and characterization of the tree as a reflection of the family s history and
what value it holds to further generations. Despite the whip crack of the mortgage experienced every month, cutting
down the black walnut tree would be a heinous deception on the family s heritage.
The literal language used in the beginning of the free verse does not imply the tree having any symbolic meaning to
the speaker and her mother. It is casually said My mother and I debate, we could sell the black walnut tree...[to] pay
off the mortgage which defines that in these lines the tree has not yet been introduced with its symbolic purpose.
Initially, the tree is viewed as a property they are willing to sell. They rationalize the idea by noting that there are

Importance Of Sam In The Catskills
Sam had used many skills to survive in the Catskills. Some of them are kind of hard to do, but others are simple.
Three of the skills Sam had learned to use are burning out the inside of trees, making makeshift fishing poles and
finding his own bait, and finally making his own wooden instruments. Sam used these in the story but that doesn t
mean that they are actually possible. Also, some people would ve used the same skills, but in their own ways. There
are many skills Sam used, some were burning out the inside of his tree to make room to live in, some helped him to
gather food, and some helped him to simply stay inside of a happy mood. The first skill I ve chosen is the technique

Some of these skills I personally wouldn t use. I would definitely use the burning out the trees technique because you
never know when you will have to clear out a road block or the entrance to a stash you hid away. I might use the
makeshift fishing pole skill because it s always fun to make something then see it work well, plus I like doing
entertaining things. For the instrument technique I just probably wouldn t use it. I m not really a band person and It s
not as useful as makeshift fishing poles so I probably wouldn t use it. Next are the modifications I would use on the
skills. Instead of just randomly burning the inside of a tree into flames I would try and make separate parts of the
tree. So if one part of the tree goes into flames accidently I don t burn the whole tree down. Also for the fishing I
would try to make stronger or more advanced fishing poles and hooks. I would also test out different bait than just
worms. I would see which fish like a certain bug or bait. Then when I go fishing I would see which fish I want to
catch, then I would use that specific bait and have a better chance of catching the fish I wanted. These may be how I
would prefer using the skills, but how would you prefer them or use

Examples Of Odysseus As A Modern Hero
What do you think a hero is? I think a hero is someone who cares about others, has a kind personality, and is a good
leader. In the text The Odyssey, people have argued whether or not the main character, Odysseus, is a hero. I think
that Odysseus is a modern hero because he is loyal, smart, and he is brave.
One way that Odysseus fits the mold of a modern hero is how he is loyal. He was loyal because he always tried to
keep his men safe. In the story The Lotus Eaters while they were on the Land of the Lotus Eaters, he made sure all of
his men were on the ship so none of them were left behind. He also made sure none of the men on Island of
Thrinacia ate Helios cattle. This made him loyal because loyal people always have their friends backs. This
compares Odysseus to a modern hero because they have to be loyal so they don t let other people down. ... Show

The Branding of IKEA
Company background
The first catalogue was introduced in 1951 and with this the founder saw his chance to expand his business on a
larger scale, and this was the year he decided to completely focus on low price furniture, as from the beginning
IKEA sold mainly matches, watches, Christmas decorations, picture frames and jewellery.
In 1956 the company came up with the concept of flat pack self assembly furniture.
The first international IKEA store was introduced in Norway in 1963, and was soon followed by the opening of

Extensions are usually introduced as they have more advantages and these can be transferred to a new product, with
the same attributes but in a different form.
For example IKEA may create a substitute product, such as a sofa bed instead of just a sofa or a bed. We could also
introduce a complementary product to an already existing one; a water filter to go with the new kettle. And we can
use previous experience and expertise on new products, with the advantage of lower costs; there is no need of
launching the brand name as it is already well known.
Brand extensions involve a very low risk of failure for well established brands, though new brands are at very high
risk of failing, as the consumer is more reachable when he/she has an opinion of an already existing brand. Though
there is always a risk of extension failure, which will give the brand a negative image in the consumers mind. But
there is also a risk of idea failure, PR failure and people failure, where the company uses wrong tactics and this will
again give the consumer the unsuitable image of the brand. In some cases there branding can lead to negative
opinions, but also culture failure can play a part, as consumers in different countries have different ethics and
religions.

planets consist of Earth, Mars, Mercury, and Venus that tell us their unique differences of each planet based on their
position in the solar system. Mercury s surface can be very hot while the other half of the planet is very cold due to
the position facing the Sun. Venus has greenhouse gases similar to that of Earth that scientist can use to help

Adolf Hitler
Adolf Hitler
The one who does not remember history is bound to live through it again
George Santayana
Adolf Hitler is known for having the greatest impact on Europe in all of history, especially Germany. Although the
majority of people look down on him for his mass murder of about 6 million Jews in a short time period, his story of
influence on a whole country is incredible. He started out as a boy from a little town in Austria with nothing more
than a paintbrush and a dream; a dream to become an artist and study at the Vienna Academy of Art. Although this
infamous man is one of the most hated people in history, his story is one that must be told.
Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in the little town of Braunau am Inn, Austria. ... Show more content on

A Führer is a German leader or guide, which is now related often to Hitler. Hitler s rise to power was based on long
term affects for Germany. The decade of depression left by the First World War, which left Europe in great debt and
starving. There was so much resentment in the Germans, which they wanted a leader that could help them out of the
state of depression that lasted so long. Hitler s Nazi s, men who followed and helped Hitler to his rise of power, also
had a reign of terror that scared Europe and thus leading to Hitler s rise. Adolf Hitler was a very profound and
persuasive public speaker. He would make public speeches about how if he got into power, that he would guarantee
food and health for every person in Germany. One of his mottos was A Chicken In Every Pot, A [Volkswagon] In
Every Garage . This was a very promising statement for Germany; after all they had been through.
The Holocaust is the most infamous mass murder throughout all of history. It went on from January 30th, 1933 to
May 8th, 1945 (V E Day). It was a plan to murder all people of the Jewish religion in Europe. This was a very highly
thought through plan created by Hitler to achieve his perfect race . Hitler s anti Semitism acts were because he
thought that it was a Jewish professor that turned Hitler down from being able to study at the Academy in Vienna
and also thought that it was a Jewish doctor that could not help Adolf s mother live. When

Disneyland Is The Most Successful Amusement Park
Disneyland is the most successful amusement park in the world. Since the original park opened in 1955 more than a
half billion people have visited the Disney theme parks worldwide, making it the most visited theme park in history.
It is a symbol of global Americanization and cultural expansionism. American pop culture is prevalent all over the
world and Disneyland is the perfect representation of this notion. Tourist from all over the world come to America
and enjoy the Disney theme park experience and soon enough new Disneyland parks will be built around the world.
Tokyo Disneyland
Once Disney discovered the amount of Japanese tourist that visited the Disneyland parks in America, it was
inevitable that the Disney Corporation would build a theme park overseas. In 1962, the Japanese company, Oriental
Land Co. (OLC) approached Disney with the idea of building a theme park in Japan. The Walt Disney Company
licensed Disney characters and other copyrighted material to Tokyo Disneyland; however, Oriental Land Co. owns
and operates the amusement park.
Tokyo Disneyland was built on the reclaimed land in the Tokyo bay area and was predominantly designed after the
Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Florida. It was marketed that it was a 100% replica of the American
Disneyland, which also encompassed selling only American food and Disney products inside the park. OLC s
objective was to create the feeling that visitors would be taking a foreign vacation by coming to their amusement

Explain Why The Venom Of The Brazilian Wasps
The venom of the Brazilian wasps kills tumor cell The scientists believe that the venom of the Brazilian wasps could
be used in the fight against cancer. The BBC reported that according to the lab tests, toxin kills cancer cells while
healthy cells remain intact. A team from the Brazilian university says the experimental drug binds with tumor cells
and causes the loss of key molecules. The research is at an early stage and needs further examination to verify is it
safe for humans. Polybia Paulista is particularly aggressive type of wasps that are endemic in southeastern Brazil and
whose stings are not welcome. Earlier studies on mice have shown that the poison can specifically attack and destroy
tumor cells. The scientific team, led by

Cory Mature In Boy s Life
It was a cold morning when Cory Mackenson s life first began to change. He was woken up at the crack of dawn by
his father to get ready for what was about to be the most shocking day of his life. They got out of their house and
began his dad s usual milk route, but little did Cory know that he would be seeing a dead body that would scar him
and his father and change their lives forever. In the book Boy s Life by Robert McCammon, Cory s father s
experience with the murder at Saxon s Lake and Cory s relationships with his friends cause Cory to mentally grow
and mature throughout the novel from a reckless boy into a responsible young man. It first appeared that Cory was

begin to harass them and call them very rude names. After the name calling came the physical harassment and by

about ten feet. (169) This time Cory put his foot down to the endless insults thrown by the brothers, and he stood up
for not just himself but also his friends, which was a way that his friends had made him mentally grow. More than
once in this story do Cory s friends influence the way that Cory matures, and they especially do that when Cory is
talking to Davy Ray whilst Davy is on his deathbed. Cory is scared and most likely feels alone at that moment since
he is helping his friend to be able to go in peace. But his past experiences with his friends have helped him get to a
point where he is able to put his own feelings aside and help his friend who needs it more. Both of these times in the
story show the ways that Cory s friends were part of the reasoning to why he mentally matured from a boy into a
young man. If these things had not happened to his friends then nothing would have inspired Cory to take action or
demonstrate ways that he has

Van Gogh s Starry Night
In Vincent Van Gogh s Starry Night there are many aspects of the artwork that are symbolic of Van Gogh s life
struggles. It is easy for the viewer to assume that the aspects of Starry Night represent van Gogh s time in the
asylum, however, not all aspects represent his insanity and isolation. Starry Night is van Gogh s representation of his
biography inspired by his loss of faith, which can be seen and supported by the symbols of the church and the stars.
It is fair to say van Gogh was not in a good emotional place when he painted Starry Night. On May 8th 1889, van
Gogh entered the hospital of St. Paul de Mausole at St. Rémy because of his mental instability. He did not leave for
many weeks therefore he was able to devote the majority of his time to his paintings. van Gogh painted Starry Night
in June between 16 18. The mountains are the ones he could see from his cell window but are exaggerated to reflect
this idea of another world or religion that he had connected with in the past (Soth). According to James Elkins, van
Gogh had very passionate, if not obscure, thoughts about how his art worked as religion (Elkins 12). Many scholars
can see the relationship but it is not evident to the common eye. There is definitely a relationship that ties Starry
Night to van Gogh s spiritual life, but it is the loss of his spiritual life that influenced this piece of artwork. In Starry
Night (figure 1) there is a church that is not based off the church in the town of St. Rémy

Gender Bias In Sports Essay
Highly accomplished female athletes are often infantilized by sport commentators by referring to them as girls or
young ladies whereas skilled male athletes are rarely (if ever) referred to as boys (Messner et al., 1993; Wensing
Bruce,
2003). A recent headline in the UK s Daily Mail regarding the Sochi Olympics read, Curl power: Girls sweep their
way to bronze as Britain equals its best ever Winter Olympics tally (Daily Mail Reporter, 2014). Not surprisingly, the
male curlers were not referred to as boys when they won a silver medal the next day.
Commentators further infantilize female athletes by calling them by their first name only whereas this rarely occurs
with male athletes. Messner et al. (1993) found that women s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Billings (2007) examined the media commentary for men s and women s diving, gymnastics,
swimming, and track and field competitions during the 2004 Summer Olympics and discovered that gender biased
commentary occurred more often in the sports considered artistic (e.g., gymnastics, diving) with the greatest gender
bias between men and women s gymnastics. Similarly, Angilini, Billings, and MacAuthor (2013) found the greatest
amount of gender biased commentary in figure skating in their examination of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Typically, the negative framing described in the previous paragraphs occurs alongside positive narratives. Duncan

Hasbrook (1988) used the term ambivalence to describe media accounts about female athletes that present such
mixed messages. As Eagleman (2013) described, it is coverage that appears positive at first glance, but actually
includes words, phrases, or themes that subtly belittle women (p. 4). It is used to simultaneously acknowledge the
changing norms regarding women s involvement in sport and yet resist major changes to the status quo by artfully

Mixed Incontinence Case Study
The patient in the case study would most likely have mixed incontinence. The two forms of incontinence the patient
would suffer from are transient and functional. The patient is currently taking Lasix 80 mg by mouth every 12 hours
and would this would be the contributable factor for transient incontinence. Functional incontinence in this case
would be from the patient being unable to make it to the toilet because he needs two people to assist him when
moving. If the patient was not taking the Lasix, he would still most likely suffer from functional incontinence. The
patient has also had an intraoperative left cerebrovascular accident (CVA) which can also be a factor for
incontinence but there is not enough information given to make that determination. Although, a CVA can be a factor
for incontinence it is not always the cause. The Lasix 80 mg twice a day combined with the patient not being able to
go to the toilet on his own would lead to a diagnosis of mixed incontinence (Ebersole Hess , 2014). ... Show more

the pads are moisture absorbent. The commode next to the bed would be the last resort in interventions as the patient
would still need assistance to transfer from the bed. Putting these interventions into place would help the patient with

My First Day Of College Essay
My first day of college was kind of a blur but it was most certainly a very important one. I spent my first semester of
college at Central Michigan University, I arrived on the Friday before classes started which is commonly known as
Welcome Weekend around campus. Coming into it I really didn t know what to expect from college, I was really
nervous about meeting my roommates and having to communicate with them. I had been friends with the same 6
people for the past 5 years and moving on into a new environment where I knew no one was pretty daunting. I live in
Livonia Michigan it s about 20 minutes out from Detroit, CMU is in Mount Pleasant just over 2 hours away. I was so
sad to leave my friends that day I basically slept the whole way to Mount Pleasant just so I wouldn t cry. When I
arrived my parents and I along with some help from the student volunteers unpacked my aunts minivan and moved
into my home for next 9 months. I was the first to arrive so I obviously chose the biggest room, I stayed in Trout hall
on the north side of campus. The way they had it set was 4 roommates in one dorm, each dorm had 2 bed rooms and
1 bathroom as well as a common room. Different dorm halls had different rooming methods but the one Trout used
was pretty common on campus. Once I was all moved in and unpacked my parents went out to grab me some
groceries, I used this time to catch up with my friend Nick. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Around 11,000,000 people were killed in one of the most hateful crimes in all of history: the Holocaust. Although we
could not have prevented this tragedy, I believe that we should all work to stop something like this from ever
happening again. In order to prevent, however, we must first educate ourselves. And I think a great way to educate

concentration camps people were sent to in order to work and be killed. It contained a life sized replica of a gas

The Bishop s Icy Robe
Part of a handful of women poets in the Modernist Era, Elizabeth Bishop wrote
around a hundred poems mostly containing dark themes which can be attributed to her
greatly compromised childhood. She has check mated the world of poetry and has
marked her name through her distinct style in poems such as A Death in Nova Scotia,
Sestina, and In the Waiting Room. The poem, Death in Nova Scotia, discusses a

living with the grandmother and holding back her true feelings. The speaker also
mentions that the house feels chilly (23) which can indicate that Bishop never felt
completely comfortable in her grandparents house and not her parents home (which no
longer existed). This poem parallels Bishops other poem Memories , and the reason for
that; the grand father kept telling the young child to be polite and almost submissive to
what he was saying because public appearance is important. So that thought transversely

different. In some ways, these mysterious creatures are much like humans. Many people are fascinated by these
whales when they see them perform in marine parks such as SeaWorld. What most people don t realize is that the life
of these whales is not as great as it may seem. There is much evidence that proves captive life will never be

The longest a captive born Orca has very lived is twenty five years (Rose, 3). The average life expectancy is six
years in captivity. Eighty six percent of 135+ whales in captivity since 1961 are now dead (KIWE, 3). SeaWorld, one
of the most famous marine parks exhibiting Orca whales, has experienced approximately one Orca death a year since
beginning their breeding program. It is reasonable and logical to expect at least a third of all captive whales to still
be alive today considering the number of males and females, years since the first Orca entered captivity, and life
expectancies in the wild, but only twenty percent is still living. The most parsimonious explanation for this failure to
show improved survivorship, despite the effort by Oceanaria to advance husbandry techniques in the past forty five
years, is that Orcas are inherently unsuited to confinement (Rose, 3). Not only are Orcas far too intelligent to be held
captive, but also captivity does not meet their familial and social needs. In the wild, Orcas have complex familial and
social relationships with those in their pods that they are not able to sustain in captivity due to being placed in a pool
with and artificial family. Orcas typically spend their entire lives with their families unless taken away (Cronin, 2).
In captivity, the young are separated from their mothers. At SeaWorld, after a four and a half year old Orca was taken

Sicko is an American made documentary that was released in 2007. This documentary focused on the health care
system in United States. Filmmaker, Michael Moore, visited different parts of the United States and interviewed
people about their experiences with the healthcare system and health insurance. While it is obvious that people
without health insurance are subjected to pay higher medical rates, the film also shows that even people with health
insurance, are unable to pay their medical bills. This is due to the fact that certain procedures, medication, etc. are
not covered by their insurance. Some people often go to the extremes of traveling to Canada to receive free care. A

As mentioned earlier, for the millions of other Americans that are insured with a healthcare plan, they still struggle to
pay for urgent care. For example, in Sicko a woman had a decent healthcare plan that would provide coverage for
her family. Her husband, Tracy became ill with cancer. His doctors wanted to try different medications to see if it
would help him. The insurance company denied to pay for his medication due to experimental reasons. Tracy s
doctors then suggested to do a bone marrow transplant. The doctor mentioned that this treatment had been successful
on other patients. Once again the insurance company denied to pay for Tracy s treatment. Ultimately, Tracy passed
away due to lack of treatment. This is the reality of many sick Americans. They are focused to delay important
medical procedures/medication because they cannot afford the cost. Insurance companies try to find ways out of
paying for their customer s insurance. They use excuses such as experimental reasons as a means of denying to pay
for treatments or they state that the customer had a pre existing condition which they do not cover. Sicko depicted
that the more denials a health insurance company issues, the more money the company saves. In the documentary
Michael Moore visits Canada to examine how health care/insurance differs from the United States. People receive
quality care and do not have to pay for health treatments in Canada. Canada operates as on a single

The Teen Drug Abuse
The teen drug abuse is extremely bad now a days because that s all what mostly all teens wan and they can never
stop because they use it to their advantage and they convince their friends and other people to do it with them. The
feelings that are associated with using drugs are relief, silliness, euphoria, and happiness. After all those good
feelings they have side effects after that and those are headaches, drowsiness, nausea, dehydration, exhaustion, and
fever. They can even have side effects like vomiting and a little bit of loss memory. But when you abuse drugs and
by that means that when you use drugs to many times and too much it can lead to death. The ways you can die from
drugs are overdoses, traffic accidents and that s if and when you use it when driving, crime related activity or other

Jill Stein On Political Pros And Cons
I sided with Jill Stein on most 2016 Presidential Election issues. Two specific issues from the survey that are the
most important to me are education, and science. I agree with Jill Stein on labeling GMOs, and put a temporary
prohibition on GMOs and pesticides until they are proven safe. I also agree with her about cancel all student dept.
Dept can be cancel for Wall Street criminals whose waste, fraud and abuse that leads to the crash of our economy.
Why not eliminate it for the general public. These positions are both liberal, because they emphasize the need for the

  • 2. The Sampling Interval For The Current Clamps The sampling interval for the current clamps can be changed depending on what we want to know. For the air compressor we may log more frequently, for example every five seconds, if we find that the compressor is switching mode very frequently, otherwise logging at 60 second intervals may be enough. The purpose of the continuous measurement will also affect the logging interval. If the first visit gives us the impression that the compressed air system is an important part of the energy use, we may measure more carefully to have enough information to suggest detailed measures. The drawing of the electric (Table 3. Example of plan for energy measurements to allocate electricity use to unit processes.) In this case we will have a measurement from a switchgear cabinet that covers several unit processes, for example lighting and forklift charging for a garage and picking stock, as shown in Figure 8. The data from clamp no. 1 in the switchgear must be complemented by simulta‐ neous measurements from clamps 2 and 3 in the distribution board, where clamp 2 measures the total incoming current to the Central Garage board and clamp 3 measures the outgoing current to the forklift chargers. Later, the data from clamp 2 in the Central Garage distribution board can be subtracted from clamp 1 in the switchgear to get a picture of the energy use in Central Picking Stock and Central Large Hall. At the same time you have parallel measurements of the air compressor from clamp no 4. The clamp ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hitler s Fall And Defeat Of The World War II The Second World War is absolutely understood as one of the most impactful events within the last century. From the horrendous murderous acts of the Holocaust to the unveiling of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, the war was anything but boring. Every stage of the war proved to be more significant than the previous, and the ultimate end of World War II is what historians tend to focus on even more than all other stages of the war. The fall and defeat of the German Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler, is still under investigation and analysis from almost all academia historians. Hitler s fall and Germany s defeat is what is most impactful about the ending of World War II and the reasoning behind its happening. Although the defeat of Germany in World War II can be attributed towards a myriad of reasons, two of the most significant reasons were Hitler s stubbornness to seize oil to power his army, and the strategic bombing of Germany and German occupied lands by the Allied Forces. Both of these systems can be directly related towards the defeat of Hitler and the victory of the Allied Forces in World War II. Prior to his invasion and betrayal of the USSR, Adolf Hitler relied heavily on Josef Stalin and his oil resources. Specifically in the Azerbaijan city of Baku, oil was a commodity that was worshiped by its townspeople, and was drilled, packaged and sent to the German and Russian forces. Baku was so rich in oil that it would extract almost 25 million tons of oil for the first year of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. What The Bourgeoisie Essay Title: What the bourgeoisie...produces...is its own grave diggers. Its fall and the victory of the proletariat are equally inevitable. Consider this statement with reference to the pattern of class struggle that Marx sees appearing under capitalism. Through my analysis of Marx and Engel s The Communist Manifesto I have come to somewhat agree with their view that in the end the Proletariat always come out on top. It seems to me that it is nothing but a vicious circle . Marx comments that through our history there has always been evidence of two classes, in other words: the rich and the poor, he makes the claim that there has forever been the server and the served: ...we find almost everywhere a complicated arrangement of society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Marx discusses in this piece the ever changing nature of systems, from the Feudal system to the manufacturing system to the Industrial system, The feudal system of industry...now no longer sufficed...The manufacturing system took it s place...Thereupon, steam and machinery revolutionised industrial production. (D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 223. Therefore the middle man was cut out, he was no longer important, the division between the powerful and powerless grew to become much more. The place of manufacture was taken by the giant, Modern Industry, the place of the industrial middle class, by industrial millionaires, the leaders of the whole industrial armies, the modern bourgeois. Marx, in my opinion alludes that the Bourgeois have ruined many of the more caring and loving parts of our society. The family is an institution that has been present for many centuries, people associate the family as the core of a person s development, the way a person is brought up essentially shapes the rest of one s life, the person one become, the way one live one s life and the way in which one s relationships develop in adult life. The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation. (D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 224. The Black Walnut Tree Figurative Language In The Roots There is a conflict between practicality and sentimentality conveyed through the use of both literal and figurative language by poet Mary Oliver in The Black Walnut Tree. Despite the whip crack of the mortgage experienced every month, cutting down the black walnut tree would be a heinous deception on the family s heritage. But his past experiences with his friends have helped him get to a point where he is able to put his own feelings aside and help his friend who needs it more. Both of these times in the story show the ways that Cory s friends were part of the reasoning to why he mentally matured from a boy into a young man. If these things had not happened to his friends then nothing would have inspired Cory to take action or demonstrate ways that he has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Van Gogh s Starry Night In Vincent Van Gogh s Starry Night there are many aspects of the artwork that are symbolic of Van Gogh s life struggles. It is easy for the viewer to assume that the aspects of Starry Night represent van Gogh s time in the asylum, however, not all aspects represent his insanity and isolation. Starry Night is van Gogh s representation of his biography inspired by his loss of faith, which can be seen and supported by the symbols of the church and the stars. It is fair to say van Gogh was not in a good emotional place when he painted Starry Night. On May 8th 1889, van Gogh entered the hospital of St. Paul de Mausole at St. Rémy because of his mental instability. He did not leave for many weeks therefore he was able to devote the majority of his time to his paintings. van Gogh painted Starry Night in June between 16 18. The mountains are the ones he could see from his cell window but are exaggerated to reflect this idea of another world or religion that he had connected with in the past (Soth). According to James Elkins, van Gogh had very passionate, if not obscure, thoughts about how his art worked as religion (Elkins 12). Many scholars can see the relationship but it is not evident to the common eye. There is definitely a relationship that ties Starry Night to van Gogh s spiritual life, but it is the loss of his spiritual life that influenced this piece of artwork. In Starry Night (figure 1) there is a church that is not based off the church in the town of St. Rémy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Gender Bias In Sports Essay Highly accomplished female athletes are often infantilized by sport commentators by referring to them as girls or young ladies whereas skilled male athletes are rarely (if ever) referred to as boys (Messner et al., 1993; Wensing Bruce, 2003). A recent headline in the UK s Daily Mail regarding the Sochi Olympics read, Curl power: Girls sweep their way to bronze as Britain equals its best ever Winter Olympics tally (Daily Mail Reporter, 2014). Not surprisingly, the male curlers were not referred to as boys when they won a silver medal the next day. Commentators further infantilize female athletes by calling them by their first name only whereas this rarely occurs with male athletes. Messner et al. (1993) found that women s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, Billings (2007) examined the media commentary for men s and women s diving, gymnastics, swimming, and track and field competitions during the 2004 Summer Olympics and discovered that gender biased commentary occurred more often in the sports considered artistic (e.g., gymnastics, diving) with the greatest gender bias between men and women s gymnastics. Similarly, Angilini, Billings, and MacAuthor (2013) found the greatest amount of gender biased commentary in figure skating in their examination of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Typically, the negative framing described in the previous paragraphs occurs alongside positive narratives. Duncan and Hasbrook (1988) used the term ambivalence to describe media accounts about female athletes that present such mixed messages. As Eagleman (2013) described, it is coverage that appears positive at first glance, but actually includes words, phrases, or themes that subtly belittle women (p. 4). It is used to simultaneously acknowledge the changing norms regarding women s involvement in sport and yet resist major changes to the status quo by artfully undermining ... The two forms of incontinence the patient would suffer from are transient and functional. The patient is currently taking Lasix 80 mg by mouth every 12 hours and would this would be the contributable factor for transient incontinence. Functional incontinence in this case would be from the patient being unable to make it to the toilet because he needs two people to assist him when moving. If the patient was not taking the Lasix, he would still most likely suffer from functional incontinence. The patient has also had an intraoperative left cerebrovascular accident (CVA) which can also be a factor for incontinence but there is not enough information given to make that determination. Although, a CVA can be a factor for incontinence it is not always the cause. It contained a life sized replica of a gas chamber that I walked through to see the rest of the information on the floor. At the very back of the room rested a model of how people were executed in the camps. It first showed dozens of tiny figures lined up, waiting for their deaths. Farther down, figures were in a room stripping their clothes. The final part of the model was devastating. It showed the figurines all clumped together, suffocating, dying. Even though each one couldn t have been larger than my thumb, I could see the pain of 11 million reflected on those figures faces. The detail was astounding. The speaker also mentions that the house feels chilly (23) which can indicate that Bishop never felt completely comfortable in her grandparents house and not her parents home (which no longer existed). This poem parallels Bishops other poem Memories , and the reason for that; the grand father kept telling the young child to be polite and almost submissive to what he was saying because public appearance is important. The longest a captive born Orca has very lived is twenty five years (Rose, 3). The average life expectancy is six years in captivity. Eighty six percent of 135+ whales in captivity since 1961 are now dead (KIWE, 3). SeaWorld, one of the most famous marine parks exhibiting Orca whales, has experienced approximately one Orca death a year since beginning their breeding program. It is reasonable and logical to expect at least a third of all captive whales to still be alive today considering the number of males and females, years since the first Orca entered captivity, and life expectancies in the wild, but only twenty percent is still living. The most parsimonious explanation for this failure to show improved survivorship, despite the effort by Oceanaria to advance husbandry techniques in the past forty five years, is that Orcas are inherently unsuited to confinement (Rose, 3). Not only are Orcas far too intelligent to be held captive, but also captivity does not meet their familial and social needs. In the wild, Orcas have complex familial and social relationships with those in their pods that they are not able to sustain in captivity due to being placed in a pool with and artificial family. Orcas typically spend their entire lives with their families unless taken away (Cronin, 2). In captivity, the young are separated from their mothers.
