Standardization Of The International Organization For...
ISO Created in 1947, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) hoped to bring
standardization to a chaotic system of manufacturing. ISO intends to help standardize the quality and
safety of products bought and sold between two companies, either domestic or abroad. In fact, Heizer
Render (2014) stated the move towards global supply chains has placed so much emphasis on quality
that the world has united around a single quality standard, ISO 9000 (p. 210). Its guiding principles
are to ensure quality and safety starting at the top of management within any given organization all the
way through supplier relationships. ISO s mission to ensure accurate record keeping and detailed
documentation started with the collaboration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ISO compliance has become the gold standard for businesses. It is like wearing a badge of honor that
proclaims any company that wears it will ensure a minimum level of quality and safety for its entire
product line. Before the onset of ISO, quality between companies was difficult to maintain as so many
companies in different countries had varying degrees of quality control. A million certificates earned,
in 178 countries worldwide, demonstrates the impact of ISO on global trade.
The Benefits of International Standardization? Corporations that wish to become global
manufacturers, such as Boeing or Lockheed Martin, may be wary of quality control and safety
practices of a company it has never done business with. For operations managers, it should be
important to deliver safe and quality products as well as receive the same level of product from other
companies (Heizer Render, 2014). ISO did not exist pre 1947; therefore, trading between companies
posed a risk of poor quality goods. Without global standardization, one company s definition of
quality may be vastly different than another. The formation of ISO and its standardization has created
a certain level of confidence in global commerce. A company can pledge its commitment to quality
and safety by earning an ISO certification. Consequently, fewer quality issues will result in increased
productivity. According to ISO, it helps companies gain access new markets, level the

A New Framework for Training and Placement Services using Mobile
Abstract
Training and Placement is important part of any educational institute in which most of the work will
carried out using automated tools. Hence the service of these can be given in mobile to increase the
efficient data connection on hand held devices. So the mobile can be used as later device to fill the gap
between students and companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Therefore our proposed
framework can be aimed to reduce human efforts and errors by automating important tasks of cell
such as displaying notices, maintaining info regarding students, student eligibility, company criteria,
training sessions, preparation seminars, interview schedule, etc. ... Show more content on

When it involves the Placement and Training Cell it plays a vital role in locating job opportunities for
Under Graduates and Post Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed
firms and industrial establishments. The Placement Cell operates around the year to facilitate contacts
between companies and graduates. The increasing benefits of automated system now are at highest
position thus many manual processes are automated. Since the automated system is demanded now a
days, educational infrastructures like colleges needed their manual system to function on computer
system. One of such system which is of major importance is training and placement automation for
campus recruitment. Though some manual functioning systems of faculties are automated like
maintaining attendance record, library management. The colleges have more to do like observance and
maintaining student s presence in the campus, that necessary data for their parents or guardians.
2. Importance of Placement and Training Cell Placement and Training cell provides more facilities to
the user such as visited company in college campus, and take the information about company and
selected students. And also the Placement Cell works together as a team in moulding the students to
the requirements of various industries. In today scenario the Training and Placement Officer (TPO) is

Rp-Us Visiting Forces Agreement
INTRODUCTION The United States and the Republic of the Philippines maintain close ties based
upon the U.S. Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty, the period of U.S. colonization, common strategic
and economic interests, and shared democratic values. The United States long maintained sizable
naval and air forces bases in the country. Although the Philippine Senate voted against U.S. wishes to
close American military installations in 1992, bilateral security cooperation resumed following
territorial disputes between the Philippines and China in 1994 and the launching of the Global War on
Terrorism in 2002. After 2001, the Philippines received one of the most dramatic increases in U.S.

This was done as a means to obscure the fact that the US intended to deploy troops in the Philippines
with the purpose of launching the second front of the war on terrorism in order to weaken the Al

September 11 set of troops outside of Afghanistan to the Philippines. However, in order for actual
warfare to take place, the US had to increase its realm of jurisdiction over the exercises. It was
speculated that this had been done through the signing of a treaty between the United States and the
Philippines, conducted in secret during President Arroyo s visit to the United States in November of
2001 (Sarmiento,2001). This agreement, now identified as the Military Logistical Supports Agreement
(MLSA), was rumored to be a document that would allow the United States to return as a permanent
military presence in the country (The Philippine Star, 2003). Filipino Congresswoman Imee Marcos
has called the MLSA a Trojan horse, which when combined with the controversial Visiting Forces

Universal Declaration Of Human Rights
According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a doctrine created to ensure a mutual
standard of treatment amongst all humans, every person deserves an equal set of life standards.
According to Article 18 of this 30 Article document, everyone has the right to freedom of thought,
conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom,
either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in
teaching, practice, worship and observance (Campbell, MacKinnon, and Stevens 98). This document
also states in Article 5, no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment
or punishment (Campbell, Mackinnon, and Stevens 97).
The idea of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is commendable and I believe that achieving
the goals that it states is necessary for ultimate global progress, but it unfortunately falls flat when put
into practice, comparable in assessment to the goals and purpose of the United Nations versus the
actual actions of the United Nations. Many of the declarations in the UDHR overlap with one another
and prevent certain action from occurring. In the contentious issue of Female Genital Cutting, we can
see the above articles clashing with one another. While it is every persons right to be able to freely
practice their religion, it is also apparently every persons right to be able to be free of any degrading

The American Of A Blind Old Woman
Overall, the American themes in this speech are undeniable. For one thing, Morrison s most important
character, a blind old woman, is stated outright to be American. Not only that, she is the widely
respected child of slaves, so she is very deeply tied into both the good and bad of America s past
(Morrison). She also alludes numerous times to American history and culture, especially in the
conclusion of her speech, which comes in the form of a rapid succession of powerful images. The last
of these is of a wagonload of slaves three years before the Civil War, whose lives are saved from a
frigid winter (however momentarily) by the kindness of two youths (Morrison). Not only is this
clearly tied into American history, it also contains the distinctly American values of hope in the face of
death, like the colonists had against the crushing odds of the Revolutionary War, and unity in spire of
differences after all, the children are most likely white considering they had just exited an inn the
slaves wouldn t have been allowed into that would eventually lead to the passage of every Civil Rights
law in the nation s history (Morrison). Morrison uses an allegory to the Tower of Babel, saying that if
the builders of the Tower had simply learned to communicate with one another, they would not have
had to seek heaven because they would have already reached it (Morrison). This interpretation of the
Tower of Babel is especially meaningful in the context of America, which lives up to its

Shakesperean Clothing Essay example
Have you ever looked at a picture of your parents when they were your age? Or maybe your
grandparents from way back when? Well, judging by how much we laugh at their goofy clothes and
ridiculous shoes, not to mention the hilarious hairstyles, styles have changed a lot. We?ve gone from
high waists to low waists, baggy shirts to shirts that could fit your little sister, from bellbottoms to skin
tight jeans, and from voluminous hair to straight and silky locks. Yes, style can change a lot in a few
decades and if you think that s a lot of change, try going back a few centuries, to the times of
Shakespeare! Back then, the women wore a lot more clothes than we do, that?s for sure! The style
included a chemise, stockings (hose), a corset or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

those). For over clothes, they wore a doublet, with separate sleeves, breeches, a belt, ruff, cloak, shoes,
and a hat. This age was also known as the peacock age, because sometimes the men were more
elaborately dressed than the women! Make up and hairstyles have also changed from then till now.
Then, make up was pale, and extremely white. Women wore hats and carried parasols to escape from
the light, to stay as white as possible. Those with darker, tanned skin were generally workers, so it was
important for the upper class to distinguish themselves from the peasants. Men also used this white
paste to identify themselves from the peasants. Who knew that Queen Elizabeth set the standards for
make up in those days? Her case of smallpox, which left some blemishes, was easily covered by the
heavy white make up. This explains the absurdly pale skin in her many portraits. Cheeks and lips were
ideally red. Kohl was used to darken the eyelashes. Light hair was also considered beautiful. Hair
styles were also very elaborate. Can you imagine sitting in a chair for 4 days with 20 hairdressers?
Well, many women spent almost that much time, because their hair was almost never styled. In those
days, people very rarely took baths, meaning their hair would last for a long time. This may seem
absolutely disgusting to us, but it was perfectly normal

Rspca Organisational Structure
RSPCA: The organisational structure of RSPCA is tall because this business is international with 172

and the chain of command in this business supports power and control. In this business the CEO has

Visual Cliff Summary
Psychologists Eleanor J. Gibson and Richard D. Walk at Cornell University conducted the Visual Cliff
experiment to investigate depth perception in human and animal species. The visual cliff apparatus
allowed them to experimentally adjust the visual, tactical, and other stimuli associated with the
simulated cliff while protecting the experimental subjects from injury. The cliff is created by
connecting a transparent glass surface, which is supported a foot or more above the floor, to a sheet of
patterned material. On one side of the glass, the patterned sheet is placed against the glass, given the
glass a solid look. On the other side, a sheet of the same patterned material is placed on the floor
beneath the glass, creating the visual cliff. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Cognitive theory is based on internal states, such as motivation, decision making, thinking, and
attention. Children show some signs of thinking and decision making during the study; when the
infants were called from the cliff side, they examined the glass by patting it, and even though they feel
the solid glass they still didn t cross to their mothers. They also peered down the glass and backed
away. They didn t simply cross over, they stopped, thought wether this is safe to cross or not, and
made the decision to not cross regardless of the hardness of the glass they touched. This is where the
developmental theory comes. We learn that infants perception of depth develops faster than their
locomotors abilities. Many of the children did supported themselves on the glass as they maneuvered
awkwardly on the bored, and some even backed into the glass while looking at their mothers; if the
glass weren t there, they would have fallen and hurt themselves. I believe that this study will help
people understand that children should not be left alone on the edge of beds or any place

Theme Of Evil In Beowulf
Beowulf versus Evil Heroes can be in our everyday life or someone you ve seen only once but all of
our heroes have something in common. Their heroic traits make up who they are and some character
traits my heroes have in common are kindness, courage, intelligence, and empathy. Beowulf is also a
hero in my eyes because he possesses all of these traits and more. What traits do your heroes have in
common? Robert Nye s long poem, Beowulf: a New Telling, is a fictional long poem about a hero,
Beowulf, who constantly battles the face of evil in many forms. The theme of this text is about good
vs. evil which shows up many times, one after another. To start, Beowulf as a young warrior portrayed
many traits of a hero such as brave and fearless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bravery is an important character trait for heroes in order to help them defeat other monsters/ evil and
this is still the same for Beowulf as he defeats Grendel s reincarnation. Therefore, when Beowulf was
a young warrior, he had many character traits of a hero including being gallant, confident, and bold.
Continuing on, Beowulf as an older king has traits different from Beowulf as a young warrior such as
cunning and selfless which fuels my reason of why Beowulf is a dynamic character. For example,
Beowulf is strategic as he devises a plan involving bees against the Firedrake and so Beowulf releases
the Queen Bee just as, The Firedrake took a deep breath and swallowed [it] (98 103). During this
ordeal, Beowulf cunningly creates a plan to defeat the Firedrake by releasing the Queen Bee into the
mouth in which the rest of the bees follow, stinging the Firedrake from the inside. The word clever
means able to use your intelligence to do something, especially in a slightly dishonest way (Longman
dictionary, 178). Beowulf is dynamic because whilst Beowulf was a young warrior, he would have
never thought to attempt this. Beowulf needed this trait as an older king because he would have never
been able to finish off the Firedrake if he wasn t cunning. Additionally, Beowulf is caring as he says,
The Firedrake will pay for what it has done not only with its life, but with the gold he keeps watch

The Continuing Immigration Debate Summary
Mark Rosenblum, US IMMIGRATION POLICY SINCE 9/11 Mark Rosenblum s U.S Immigration
Policy Since 9/11 does not provide an argument but rather he describes challenges, and identifies
questions central to the future of the U.S immigration debate. Overall, it seems that prior to 9/11 it
seemed migration negotiations were stalled every time. Whether this was done purposely or is merely
a coincidence is my concern.
Rosenblum states that migration negotiations going well until 2001, post 9/11 period, when migration

Franz Joseph Haydn
Franz Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer of the Classical Era. Apart from being considered as
one of the most influential and significant composers of the Western classical music, he was also
known as one of the three composers part of First Viennese School composers, which also included
Mozart and Beethoven. He composed The Piano Sonata in E flat major, Hob. XVI:49, and dedicated it
to Mrs. Maria Anna Edle von Genzinger. This piece is rather representative of works written in his late
period since it is one of his last piano sonatas. Composed for the fortepiano, this piece can be
described as incorporating the Viennese keyboard style, as well as, many other musical ideas gathered
by Hadyn in England. The sonata is divided into 3 movements: Allegro, Adagio e cantabile and
Finale: Tempo di Minuet. He opened his first movement with a theme in a question and answer style
that evokes a dialogue. In this movement, the sense of humour and seriousness expressed at the same
time, makes the contrast more distinct. It also reflects the introspection and determination. The second
movement is in the ternary form (ABA) and it has a singing style. It is in B flat major with highly
decorated thematic material, and the lyrical phrasing makes the piece tranquil and peaceful. The theme
is repeated in a more expressive manner and as it progresses to the middle of the movement, it
becomes contrasting. Touches of the tonic minor add a melancholic feel to it, causing the mood to
become dark. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Summary Of Gerald Graff s Hidden Intellectualism
Although many people would agree that Intellectuals are those who stand out academically, Gerald
Graff would think otherwise. Hidden Intellectualism is an essay written by Gerald Graff, where he
shares his beliefs about how the educational system is failing to tap those who are doing academically
poor, yet resembles great potential of intellectualism when it comes to their passion or interest. Along
with this beliefs Patch Adams is a movie based on a real story, where Hunter Adams (Patch) who
admitted himself on a Psychiatric hospital after trying to commit suicide tries to redeem himself. After
spending a few months in the Psychiatric hospital. Hunter found himself being hopeless by pills and
his counselor. It wasn t until one night he helped his roommate to conquer his fear, by creating a
humor game so he can laugh about his own fears. After that night he realized that he felt extremely
happy helping his roommate that he developed a passion for it, decides to leave, and go into medical
school. However, being in a medical school required a lot of focused, attention, and memorization,
something that Patch didn t do. For Patch being a doctor required more than just learning and
following rules of a book. His belief was to treat patients in a humanistic way not, comply by the rules
of a book.
Gerald Graff s argues that thinking outside the box can also be the new intellectual, which is supported
by the movie Patch Adams by questioning whether the educational system is in a

The Conflict Between White People And Black People
The bloodiest Civil War war in the United States history was not cure of everything. After the war,
social problems existed for long years. White people and black people kept fighting. Racism was a
very big problem. White people killed lots of black people for no reason. Even after KKK, white
people kept causing problems and killing black people. One of the examples is the Elaine Race Riot.
This bloody riot started in September 30, 1919 in Phillips County s Elaine Town in Arkansas. In this
essay, I am going to write about this riot and its details.
The Elaine Riot was one of the biggest conflict between white people and black people in the United
States history. A shooting incident started the riot. It happened at a meeting of the Progressive Farmers

people were killed. However, exact number is not known.
The incident happened in September 30, 1919. Around 100 black sharecropper, who were working on
the white landowner s plantations, attended a meeting of the Progressive Farmers of Household Union

Data Analysis Method
Throughout our observation week we were able to collect vast amount of data both from observations
and interviews. In order to let our data speak to us and help us to understand how the collaborative
work is conducted between ITB and Royal Danish Library we have adopted grounded theory method
as a main data analysis practice to work with. This decision involved summarizing cons and pros of
using this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967), using grounded theory involves
development of theory rather by logical deduction then from experimental data itself. The publication
of The Discovery of Grounded theory finds it relevant in practical applications and enable prediction
and explanation of behavior. As our field setting is not often overflown with different actors we have
decided to unlock behavioral patterns and get insight also on the profiles of employees. By this
approach we have enriched our data, by being able to see connection between artifacts and articulation

each artifact might have different purpose of use as it is observed by different point of views from

Gender Role In Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Essay
Gender Role In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness
For the most part people who read Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad may feel that the novella is
strictly a story of exploration and racial discrimination. But to Johanna Smith who wrote Too
Beautiful Altogether : Ideologies of Gender and Empire in Heart of Darkness it is much more than
that. Johanna Smith along with Wallace Watson and Rita A. Bergenholtz agree that throughout Heart
of Darkness there are tones of gender prejudice, but the way that these three different authors perceive
and interpret those gender tones are to a certain extent different.
In Too Beautiful Altogether Smith points out that even though Heart of Darkness is an especially
masculine account, femininity and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To recognize ideological contradictions in Heart of Darkness, one needs to be on familiar terms with
discourse. A discourse is a domain of language use (Belsey 5), a specific mode of speaking, writing,
and thinking that includes certain shared assumptions (Smith 190). One example Smith gives of an
ideology in Heart of Darkness is the ideology of gender or empire, written in the words feminine or
savage. Johanna Smith gives many examples of Marlow s contradictions that his ideological discourse
of empire and gender work to mystify. In Heart of Darkness the women are often silenced. Smith
points out the example of the laundress: the company s chief accountant insists that she had to be
taught to launder his clothes properly and that she had a strong disliking for the job. But you never
truly hear her side of the story; Smith suggests Marlow s silencing of the laundress shows Marlow s
authority as the masculine narrator of his story, to conceal not only her story but also those of the other
silent women in Heart of Darkness (Smith 193). Marlow s Way of self asserting his dominating
silence of the women is a clear example of Marlow s view towards women and is a key illustration of
just how much Marlow believes he, as a male, is far more superior than a women. The second point

3.1 SOCIALISMO: Entre as

Ransom Of Julius Caesar Research Paper
Julius Caesar is one of my favorite Greek leaders. Some of the things that he has done sound unreal,
and are very unknown. One time, in 75 B.C., he was kidnapped by pirates. He was in his mid 20s, and
had he set out from Rome for the Aegean island of Rhodes. He planned to study with Apollonius who
was a Greek rhetorician whose students had included Cicero, who became a famous orator in Rome.
However, along the way to Rhodes, Caesar s ship was hijacked by pirates off the southwestern coast
of Asia Minor. When the pirates named a ransom price for his release, Caesar thought the number was
insultingly low and told them he deserved a higher ransom be demanded. Eventually, the higher
ransom was paid and Caesar was freed. Soon after, he sought revenge

Sherlock Holmes V. Sherlock. There Always Seems To Be A
Sherlock Holmes v. Sherlock
There always seems to be a debate on which portrayal of Sherlock Holmes is better.; the movie with
Robert Downey Jr. or the show with Benedict Cumberbatch? The movie and show are based on
Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle but are different in aspects such as actor portrayals,
levels of complexity, and main character deaths. These aspects make the show better than the movie.
Both shows have relatively the same characters, but the portrayals vary greatly. In the movie, Robert
Downey Jr. portrayal of Sherlock was very bland. Sherlock found little to no satisfaction in being a
high functioning sociopath with amazing deductive skills. There was no connection with anybody in
the movie; he felt nothing for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Watson takes care of and tries to keep Sherlock out of trouble, but is almost always ready to go on a
case and join in on the troublesome game. He balances Sherlock s sociopath tendencies but brings his
own wonder to the show. Watson makes sure he is heard and is the voice of reason.
Additionally, Andrew Scott as Moriarty is perfect. He has the psychopathic behavior and is very
conniving and mysterious. Scott makes him unnerving because you know he is a master criminal and
will not hesitate to kill people. Yet he still keeps the character relatable. Scott makes Moriarty a
serious psychotic man but brings slight comedy to the part by not being serious.
The show is better than the movie because the character portrayals are much better because they are
more relatable and overall intriguing. The development of the characters is detailed but leaves enough
out to keep it clouded with mystery. On top of a better portrayal of characters, the show has a better
level of complexity.
In the movie, the Moriarty case was complex and difficult to follow. The case was difficult because
Sherlock is going against someone on his intelligence level, so the audience struggles to keep up.
Also, having a backstory with the gypsy that helped throughout the movie added to the plot but was
more of a distraction. The ending was not that complex though. The impending murder kept you
guessing, but not the death of Moriarty.

Beowulf Is The Longest Epic Poem
Beowulf is the longest epic poem written in Old English. The story centers around the exploits of
Beowulf, a heroic warrior known for his strength and bravery. The theme of heroism is prevalent
throughout the poem through the use of conflict between good and evil forces. Beowulf is often
engaged in selfless conquests in the pursuit of saving others, resulting in his emergence as the hero of
the story. The text, while focusing on the main theme of heroism, is divided into two main parts,
Beowulf as a young warrior and Beowulf as an experienced ruler. Heroism presents itself as both a
virtue and a flaw for Beowulf; although it allows him to become a celebrated warrior, it is also what
leads to his downfall as a ruler.
The poem opens by illustrating the importance of courage, the ultimate form of greatness to the
Danes. So. The Spear Danes in days gone by and the kings who ruled them had courage and greatness.
We have heard of those princes heroic campaigns. (lines 1 3)
In warrior culture, heroism and bravery are celebrated above all else. All great kings of the past were
known for their heroism. Before ever becoming king, young Beowulf is renowned as a great warrior
for his immense strength and courage in battle. Beowulf while known for his mastery of combat also
fulfills his social obligations. He demonstrates virtues such as proper mannerisms, loyalty, courtesy,
and pride all of which are dictated by the Germanic heroic code. He often demonstrates these virtues

Elton Mayo Human Relation Theory
When we think of manager everyone gets the same image in their head of such. Someone going
around giving orders and making sure employees do what they have been ordered to do. At one point
managers focused on the productivity and efficient division of labor and workers as an extension of
machinery also known as Scientific Management. But in the years after WW2, there was an almost
immediate change to this because of the introduction of The Human Relations Theory, also known as
the behavioral theory of management. This theory saw workers in a different light; they were now
seen as thinking beings with needs who liked to receive attention. Companies eventually saw that
attention motivated employees and even allowed them to get more out of themselves for the benefit of
the organization. The man known to have discovered the behavioral theory of management was Elton
Mayo. Elton Mayo (12/26/1880 09/07/1949) was a psychologist, industrial researcher, and
organizational theorist. He was educated at medical schools in Edinburgh and London but lost interest
in medicine at the University of Adelaide. In 1922 Mayo left the United States of America. There he
acquired a Rockefeller grant there enabling him to investigate the high turnover at the textile mill.
This work got the attention of the Harvard school of administration where he became a professor of
industrial research in 1929 this led to him conducting research into personal and social factors
determining work output at the

Theme Of Wealth In Great Expectations
In Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, wealth is a common theme that has varying effects on
different characters and their attitudes. Pip and Drummle are both people whose experiences with
money shape who they are, and how they act. Throughout the first part of the novel, Dickens writing
shows that money does not always equal happiness.
Pip has had no experiences with the upper class by the beginning of Great Expectations, and as a
result, he is satisfied with his conventional life. But, this all changes when he starts going to the Satis
house and socializing with Ms. Havisham and her daughter, Estella. After seeing what Pip feels his
life should be, he becomes dissatisfied with his social class, even stating I wished Joe had been rather
more genteelly brought up, and then I should have been so too. , Implying that he is also unhappy with
the upbringing of his family members. His preoccupation with wealth and status causes him to grow
distant from his family and friends, a decision that he later regrets. Pip reflects, It is a most miserable
thing to feel ashamed of home. There may be black ingratitude in the thing, and the punishment may
be retributive and well deserved, but that is a miserable thing, I can testify. He is ashamed of his home
because he feels that his and his family s financial status is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Havisham s characters both reacted negatively to money and the responsibilities attached to it. Pip
began his life without money, yet it still caused him grief even when he got his fortune. Ms. Havisham
was born into the lap of luxury, but her wealth ultimately hindered her ability to heal and function as a
normal human being. Without the influence of money, perhaps these characters would have found
happiness earlier on in life, and their expectations could have been less great. Ultimately, the saying
that money can t buy happiness is true, but it is much more comfortable to cry in a mansion than the
streets of Victorian

As pointed out by Sodersten and Reed(1994), this is a theory of long term general equilibrium in
which two factors of production labour and capital are both mobile between sectors. Hereafter, further
theory came which described the new growth theory . It originated from the mechanism through
which exports affect economic growth. For instance, Grossman and Helpman (1990) proposed a two
country growth model with endogenous technological progress. In their model, exports help to
promote technology and knowledge diffusion and thus in recent period, the extensive literature
concerning the relationship between trade and growth is also the consequence of the many changes
that have taken place in the fields of development economics and international trade policy. An
example of these changes is the tremendous modification from inward oriented policies to export
promotion strategy. By the early 1980s export led orientation and export promotion had already
secured a wide consensus among researchers and policy makers, to such an extent that they had
become conventional wisdom among most economists in the developing world (Tyler, 1981; Balassa,
1985). This strategy is still advocated by some international organizations, the international bank
community and multilateral lenders such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund
(IMF), and among the mainstream policy makers.

Slavery In Cincinnati
Cincinnati is a beautiful city on the Ohio River in southern Ohio that has a very rich history. The city
was founded in 1788 and soon blossomed into a thriving city. One important part of Cincinnati s
history was its involvement in the underground railroad and abolitionists. Based on the Ohio River it
posed as a perfect place to cross on the way to freedom. It also was close to the border with the south
during the civil war, causing it as a marker of entrance into the northern part of the united states during
the war. Cincinnati was a important part of the underground railroad, abolitionist movements, and the
fight to end slavery. The underground railroad was not a real railroad to begin with, it was a series of

One of the more famous oppositions of the abolition of slavery in Cincinnati was the Cincinnati Riots
of 1829. Cincinnati was full of irish immigrants and they disliked the competition they received from
the African American community in the area. Irish attacked African Americans in the area trying to get
them to leave the area, leaving more jobs for the immigrants. Some of the African Americans left,
while others stayed and fought for their jobs and lives. Another attack occurred later in 1836, this time
attacking a printing press that was publishing a anti slavery newspaper. A mob destroyed the press,
throwing it out into the streets in attempt to deter the publisher, soon though he continued to publish
his newspaper. The Ohio river was a prominent part of railroad in Cincinnati. It was referred to the
jordan river by conductors and passengers. It was common to talk in code using biblical names on the
railroad and among conductors, such as calling Canada the promised land . One famous house that
was a station on the underground railroad based on the Ohio river was the Rankin

Stereotypes In Ameil Burke s Summer Heights High

the use of Jonah Takulua, also played by Chris Lilley. In the series, Jonah is depicted as a tough
Tongan with behavioural issues, aggressions problems and an inability to read. While this is meant to
be a joke it does create a negative stereotype towards teenagers and makes the show unfairly represent
teens in a negative manner and as a result people who are watching this will think that most teenagers
cannot read at all. Another example of Summer Heights High representing teens in a negative manner
is in a scene when Jonah gets into a fight with a younger kid over break dancing. This kid is shown to
be a better break dancer than Jonah and as a result he turns aggressive in order to feel superior towards
the younger kid. This makes viewers feel that if teens aren t the best they will use violence to solve

are going through what you are going through. There are five stages of grief. The first stage is denial.
In the denial stage you think this cant be happening to me . The second stage is anger. In the anger
stage you think why is this happening and who is to blame ? Third step is bargaining. When
bargaining you think if this does not happen than I will do this or so Fourth step is depression. In this
step you feel too sad to do anything. The last step of grief which is the hardest is acceptance.
Acceptance does not mean you are ok with what happened but you are at peace with it and ready to

  • 2. Standardization Of The International Organization For... ISO Created in 1947, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) hoped to bring standardization to a chaotic system of manufacturing. ISO intends to help standardize the quality and safety of products bought and sold between two companies, either domestic or abroad. In fact, Heizer Render (2014) stated the move towards global supply chains has placed so much emphasis on quality that the world has united around a single quality standard, ISO 9000 (p. 210). Its guiding principles are to ensure quality and safety starting at the top of management within any given organization all the way through supplier relationships. ISO s mission to ensure accurate record keeping and detailed documentation started with the collaboration ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ISO compliance has become the gold standard for businesses. It is like wearing a badge of honor that proclaims any company that wears it will ensure a minimum level of quality and safety for its entire product line. Before the onset of ISO, quality between companies was difficult to maintain as so many companies in different countries had varying degrees of quality control. A million certificates earned, in 178 countries worldwide, demonstrates the impact of ISO on global trade. The Benefits of International Standardization? Corporations that wish to become global manufacturers, such as Boeing or Lockheed Martin, may be wary of quality control and safety practices of a company it has never done business with. For operations managers, it should be important to deliver safe and quality products as well as receive the same level of product from other companies (Heizer Render, 2014). ISO did not exist pre 1947; therefore, trading between companies posed a risk of poor quality goods. Without global standardization, one company s definition of quality may be vastly different than another. The formation of ISO and its standardization has created a certain level of confidence in global commerce. A company can pledge its commitment to quality and safety by earning an ISO certification. Consequently, fewer quality issues will result in increased productivity. According to ISO, it helps companies gain access new markets, level the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rp-Us Visiting Forces Agreement INTRODUCTION The United States and the Republic of the Philippines maintain close ties based upon the U.S. Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty, the period of U.S. colonization, common strategic and economic interests, and shared democratic values. The United States long maintained sizable naval and air forces bases in the country. Although the Philippine Senate voted against U.S. wishes to close American military installations in 1992, bilateral security cooperation resumed following territorial disputes between the Philippines and China in 1994 and the launching of the Global War on Terrorism in 2002. This was done as a means to obscure the fact that the US intended to deploy troops in the Philippines with the purpose of launching the second front of the war on terrorism in order to weaken the Al Qaeda network (Simon, 2002). On January 15, 2002, the United States was able to send the first post September 11 set of troops outside of Afghanistan to the Philippines. However, in order for actual warfare to take place, the US had to increase its realm of jurisdiction over the exercises. It was speculated that this had been done through the signing of a treaty between the United States and the Philippines, conducted in secret during President Arroyo s visit to the United States in November of 2001 (Sarmiento,2001). This agreement, now identified as the Military Logistical Supports Agreement (MLSA), was rumored to be a document that would allow the United States to return as a permanent military presence in the country (The Philippine Star, 2003). Filipino Congresswoman Imee Marcos has called the MLSA a Trojan horse, which when combined with the controversial Visiting Forces Agreement of February 1998 would lead to the reintroduction of US troops in the Philippines (Philippine Daily Inquirer, ... • 6. Universal Declaration Of Human Rights According to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a doctrine created to ensure a mutual standard of treatment amongst all humans, every person deserves an equal set of life standards. According to Article 18 of this 30 Article document, everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance (Campbell, MacKinnon, and Stevens 98). This document also states in Article 5, no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment (Campbell, Mackinnon, and Stevens 97). The idea of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is commendable and I believe that achieving the goals that it states is necessary for ultimate global progress, but it unfortunately falls flat when put into practice, comparable in assessment to the goals and purpose of the United Nations versus the actual actions of the United Nations. Many of the declarations in the UDHR overlap with one another and prevent certain action from occurring. In the contentious issue of Female Genital Cutting, we can see the above articles clashing with one another. While it is every persons right to be able to freely practice their religion, it is also apparently every persons right to be able to be free of any degrading and harmful treatment that ... • 10. The American Of A Blind Old Woman Overall, the American themes in this speech are undeniable. For one thing, Morrison s most important character, a blind old woman, is stated outright to be American. Not only that, she is the widely respected child of slaves, so she is very deeply tied into both the good and bad of America s past (Morrison). She also alludes numerous times to American history and culture, especially in the conclusion of her speech, which comes in the form of a rapid succession of powerful images. The last of these is of a wagonload of slaves three years before the Civil War, whose lives are saved from a frigid winter (however momentarily) by the kindness of two youths (Morrison). Not only is this clearly tied into American history, it also contains the distinctly American values of hope in the face of death, like the colonists had against the crushing odds of the Revolutionary War, and unity in spire of differences after all, the children are most likely white considering they had just exited an inn the slaves wouldn t have been allowed into that would eventually lead to the passage of every Civil Rights law in the nation s history (Morrison). Morrison uses an allegory to the Tower of Babel, saying that if the builders of the Tower had simply learned to communicate with one another, they would not have had to seek heaven because they would have already reached it (Morrison). This interpretation of the Tower of Babel is especially meaningful in the context of America, which lives up to its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Well, judging by how much we laugh at their goofy clothes and ridiculous shoes, not to mention the hilarious hairstyles, styles have changed a lot. We?ve gone from high waists to low waists, baggy shirts to shirts that could fit your little sister, from bellbottoms to skin tight jeans, and from voluminous hair to straight and silky locks. Yes, style can change a lot in a few decades and if you think that s a lot of change, try going back a few centuries, to the times of Shakespeare! For over clothes, they wore a doublet, with separate sleeves, breeches, a belt, ruff, cloak, shoes, and a hat. This age was also known as the peacock age, because sometimes the men were more elaborately dressed than the women! Make up and hairstyles have also changed from then till now. Then, make up was pale, and extremely white. Women wore hats and carried parasols to escape from the light, to stay as white as possible. Those with darker, tanned skin were generally workers, so it was important for the upper class to distinguish themselves from the peasants. Men also used this white paste to identify themselves from the peasants. Who knew that Queen Elizabeth set the standards for make up in those days? Her case of smallpox, which left some blemishes, was easily covered by the heavy white make up. This explains the absurdly pale skin in her many portraits. Cheeks and lips were ideally red. Kohl was used to darken the eyelashes. Light hair was also considered beautiful. Hair styles were also very elaborate. Can you imagine sitting in a chair for 4 days with 20 hairdressers? Well, many women spent almost that much time, because their hair was almost never styled. In those days, people very rarely took baths, meaning their hair would last for a long time. This may seem absolutely disgusting to us, but it was perfectly normal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Visual Cliff Summary Psychologists Eleanor J. Gibson and Richard D. Walk at Cornell University conducted the Visual Cliff experiment to investigate depth perception in human and animal species. The visual cliff apparatus allowed them to experimentally adjust the visual, tactical, and other stimuli associated with the simulated cliff while protecting the experimental subjects from injury. The cliff is created by connecting a transparent glass surface, which is supported a foot or more above the floor, to a sheet of patterned material. On one side of the glass, the patterned sheet is placed against the glass, given the glass a solid look. On the other side, a sheet of the same patterned material is placed on the floor beneath the glass, creating the visual cliff. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Cognitive theory is based on internal states, such as motivation, decision making, thinking, and attention. Children show some signs of thinking and decision making during the study; when the infants were called from the cliff side, they examined the glass by patting it, and even though they feel the solid glass they still didn t cross to their mothers. They also peered down the glass and backed away. They didn t simply cross over, they stopped, thought wether this is safe to cross or not, and made the decision to not cross regardless of the hardness of the glass they touched. This is where the developmental theory comes. We learn that infants perception of depth develops faster than their locomotors abilities. Many of the children did supported themselves on the glass as they maneuvered awkwardly on the bored, and some even backed into the glass while looking at their mothers; if the glass weren t there, they would have fallen and hurt themselves. Their heroic traits make up who they are and some character traits my heroes have in common are kindness, courage, intelligence, and empathy. Beowulf is also a hero in my eyes because he possesses all of these traits and more. What traits do your heroes have in common? Robert Nye s long poem, Beowulf: a New Telling, is a fictional long poem about a hero, Beowulf, who constantly battles the face of evil in many forms. The theme of this text is about good vs. evil which shows up many times, one after another. To start, Beowulf as a young warrior portrayed many traits of a hero such as brave and fearless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bravery is an important character trait for heroes in order to help them defeat other monsters/ evil and this is still the same for Beowulf as he defeats Grendel s reincarnation. Therefore, when Beowulf was a young warrior, he had many character traits of a hero including being gallant, confident, and bold. Continuing on, Beowulf as an older king has traits different from Beowulf as a young warrior such as cunning and selfless which fuels my reason of why Beowulf is a dynamic character. For example, Beowulf is strategic as he devises a plan involving bees against the Firedrake and so Beowulf releases the Queen Bee just as, The Firedrake took a deep breath and swallowed [it] (98 103). During this ordeal, Beowulf cunningly creates a plan to defeat the Firedrake by releasing the Queen Bee into the mouth in which the rest of the bees follow, stinging the Firedrake from the inside. The word clever means able to use your intelligence to do something, especially in a slightly dishonest way (Longman dictionary, 178). Beowulf is dynamic because whilst Beowulf was a young warrior, he would have never thought to attempt this. Beowulf needed this trait as an older king because he would have never been able to finish off the Firedrake if he wasn t cunning. Additionally, Beowulf is caring as he says, The Firedrake will pay for what it has done not only with its life, but with the gold he keeps watch over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Apart from being considered as one of the most influential and significant composers of the Western classical music, he was also known as one of the three composers part of First Viennese School composers, which also included Mozart and Beethoven. He composed The Piano Sonata in E flat major, Hob. XVI:49, and dedicated it to Mrs. Maria Anna Edle von Genzinger. This piece is rather representative of works written in his late period since it is one of his last piano sonatas. Composed for the fortepiano, this piece can be described as incorporating the Viennese keyboard style, as well as, many other musical ideas gathered by Hadyn in England. The sonata is divided into 3 movements: Allegro, Adagio e cantabile and Finale: Tempo di Minuet. He opened his first movement with a theme in a question and answer style that evokes a dialogue. In this movement, the sense of humour and seriousness expressed at the same time, makes the contrast more distinct. It also reflects the introspection and determination. The second movement is in the ternary form (ABA) and it has a singing style. It is in B flat major with highly decorated thematic material, and the lyrical phrasing makes the piece tranquil and peaceful. The theme is repeated in a more expressive manner and as it progresses to the middle of the movement, it becomes contrasting. In order to let our data speak to us and help us to understand how the collaborative work is conducted between ITB and Royal Danish Library we have adopted grounded theory method as a main data analysis practice to work with. This decision involved summarizing cons and pros of using this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967), using grounded theory involves development of theory rather by logical deduction then from experimental data itself. The publication of The Discovery of Grounded theory finds it relevant in practical applications and enable prediction and explanation of behavior. As our field setting is not often overflown with different actors we have decided to unlock behavioral patterns and get insight also on the profiles of employees. By this approach we have enriched our data, by being able to see connection between artifacts and articulation work, that draws an implication of artifacts in collaborative work. One example Smith gives of an ideology in Heart of Darkness is the ideology of gender or empire, written in the words feminine or savage. Johanna Smith gives many examples of Marlow s contradictions that his ideological discourse of empire and gender work to mystify. In Heart of Darkness the women are often silenced. Smith points out the example of the laundress: the company s chief accountant insists that she had to be taught to launder his clothes properly and that she had a strong disliking for the job. But you never truly hear her side of the story; Smith suggests Marlow s silencing of the laundress shows Marlow s authority as the masculine narrator of his story, to conceal not only her story but also those of the other silent women in Heart of Darkness (Smith 193). But in the years after WW2, there was an almost immediate change to this because of the introduction of The Human Relations Theory, also known as the behavioral theory of management.
