the struggles, both internal and external, that Giovanni Guasconti faces when
courting a young woman named Beatrice Rappaccini. Beatrice s love of a plant and
her father s love of science are conflicts that also highlight the theme of love. Along
with these conflicts, Hawthorne uses the theme of love to pose the question of
whether or not love is worth fighting for as well as critiquing a tragic flaw in

lumbar puncture, reducing the chance of a microbiological diagnosis. Objective: to
evaluate the role efficacy of CSF serum Heparin binding protein (HBP) in diagnosis
of bacterial meningitis. Patients: 30 patients diagnosed with ABM, 30 diagnosed
with patients with viral meningitis 30 subjects with normal CSF examination
findings (controls). Setting: Ministry of Health specialized hospital, Alexandria,
Egypt Design Measurements: Diagnosis was based on history, clinical criteria, CSF
examination, latex agglutination culture and sensitivities. HBP was measured using
in both serum CSF. Intervention: none. Results: CSF HBP levels averaged 0.82

Whether by land or by sea, eighteenth century colonial travel was arduous,
expensive, and many times dangerous. Because of this, few people traveled very
far from their homes. Transportation has changed dramatically since the late 1700

This was before airplanes, which appeared in the very early stages of the 1900 s.

very much centered around the gods, and a healthy fear of the consequences of not
obeying their laws. The next most important staples of the society were the concepts
of braver, pride, and hospitality, or Xenia. The significance of these values is shown
quite clearly in The Odyssey of Homer.
