Essay about Williams s Use of Symbolic Reference in The...
Williams s Use of Symbolic Reference in The Glass Menagerie Tennessee William s wrote The
Glass Menagerie basing it on himself and his life, although not always in detail. Tennessee s life
was not one of perfection. It had a lot of downs causing the play to be a very sentimental, dimly
lighted and emotionally play. Although this play has a very basic story line Tennessee use of
symbolism crates a much more meaningful story of the Wingfild family. Symbolism is used in
almost every object, character and in the language used throughout the play. There are not very
many props used on stage, apart from basic necessary props such as the settee and table. Other
props are much more significant to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She quit her one means of socialising, her business course at collage because she was that
nervous that she sick. We can see that she is very shy person; she makes a little fantasy world
with her glass animals. Laura is also symbolised by the name Blue Roses . Jim calls her this
name; the gentleman caller who has comes over to the apartment for dinner. Jim also went to the
same high school as Laura. This is were the name came about: Aw, yes I ve placed you now! I used
to call you Blue Roses… . Jim once asked Laura why she had not attended school for a few
days, when she replied Pleurosis Jim misheard and from then on he called her Blue Roses. Blue
Roses is a very symbolic phrase, it describes Laura s character very well, because roses are not blue,
therefore it shows that it is a special and unique rose. This is how Laura is, she is also special
and unique, because she has a minor physical defect, one of her legs is shorter than the other.
Laura also has a very exceptional character, we can see this from what Jim tells her: …other
people are not such wonderful people. They re one hundred times one thousand. You re one times
one! They walk all over the earth. You just stay here. They re common as weed, but you well, you
re Blue Roses! . Laura and Tom were abandoned by their father and

Land Use And Land Cover Changes
CHAPTER ONE
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. Background of the study
Land use and land cover changes (LULCC) induced by human and natural processes a major
role in global as well as regional scale patterns of the climate and biogeochemistry of the earth
system (Ramachandra et al., 2012).Now a day s Global warming is highly increasing as a result of
massive land use and land cover (LULC) changes. The change in land use land cover leads to
environmental change, rainy season fluctuation, increase sea surface temperature (SST) and land
surface temperature (LST). This massive land use and land cover change is due increase the need
of land for settlement and agricultural. Land is scarce (limited) natural resource which cannot be
change when the number of population increases. Land use should be matched with land capacity
and at the same time it should respect the environment, and global climate system (FAO/UNEP,
1999).Land use is converting over time and the most important driving force of land use changes
the human need. Human population is increasing and it causes transformation of natural
ecosystems into human landscapes. Human settlements, the need for farmland and especially, large
urban and industrial areas significantly modify their environment. Changing from permeable and
moist land uses to impermeable and dry one with paving and building material can sharply affect
energy budget and land surface temperature (Guo et al., 2012), as well as

Characters. They are the foundation of a storyline. However, what is the significance of having
realistic characters? Authors construct a story with realistic characters to enable readers in
familiarizing themselves with the character. In Sandra Cisneros Eleven and Ray Bradbury s The
Veldt, both authors reveal realistic characters by using descriptive writing with the use of literary
devices, utilizing dialogue that reflects their young ages and developing the characters by
encountering various types of narrations. The authors use realistic characters to provide a better
reflection about the coming of age as a theme. Writers utilize descriptive writing to create a clear

He [George] could feel it on his neck, still, like a hot paw...And the smell of blood. (Bradbury 3).
The author uses a simile to compare the heat of the sun to a hot paw in the African veldt which
emphasizes the positive thoughts of the children. The smell of blood refers to death, which
transitions into an unexpected thought from children. Bradbury uses a technique called
foreshadowing by contrasting the positive thoughts and negative thoughts of the children. This
explains the variation in the age of Peter as his thoughts begin to expand. Therefore, descriptive
writing with the use of literacy devices reflect the overall theme; coming of age to create
realistic characters. Authors use dialogues as a technique to display an important conversation
between two characters or more. Realistic characters would comprise dialogues consisting
apparent speech manners of a human being. Through dialogues, characters can interact in a way
that could reveal expositional information (age) about a character which seems to be realistic.
For example, Cisneros exaggerates the nervousness in Rachel, when she says, That s not, I don
t, you re not...Not mine (Cisneros 2) after a classmate declares that the red sweater belongs to
Rachel. The writer uses an ellipsis; a pause after every few words to emphasize the idea of Rachel
not being able to speak up for herself, which allows the reader to fill in their own insights about the
character. Rachel endeavors to say that s not

To What Extent Can Blanche Dubois Be Described as a Victim...
This play is about people who display cruelty and harshness in their treatment to others,
especially those who are weak and vulnerable. Blanche Dubois is the central victim of
mistreatment even though she had tried to make Stanley the victim. She displays her self as
fragile and moth like, dealing out her share of insensitivities that happened during her younger
days. Also because of her moth like image, the other characters see her as an easy target to knock
down and use her insecurities against her. Her figure and appearance also reveals her vulnerability
and delicacy. Slim figure, face of delicate, fading beauty All this and her clinging on to material

He desperate attempts to reinvent her self in front of Steila and Stanley ends up with her
sympathizing with her self and allowing them to pick up on her disturbing past. On Stanley s
behalf they end up rejecting her like she rejected her husband and shortly enough she slips into
her own insanity. It was not just her self that put her in the lime light of being a victim; it is also
her new change of environment and people. Stanley is Stella s husband; he is described to be
very masculine and aware of his sexual magnetism. Strongly, compactly built . He is mostly at
ease with people however, if they lack loyalty and affection to him, he will bully them.
Especially women, as he believes them just to be easy conflict. It is seen in scene 3 that Stanley
has little respect for women. I said to hush up! This is addressed to his wife who is seen
emotionless and impassive in this play. As for Blanche how is fussy and at edge, she would be
very effected by the crude attitude that Stanley presents and so tries to hysterical take Stella
away from her husband. Stanley does not forget of this act of interference and makes him all the
more determined to be rid of Stella s charity case . The real reason for Stanley s bulling is that
Blanche immediately received all Stella s attention. How about my supper huh? I m not going to
no Galatorires for supper This made Stella dominant in power over Stanley and Blanche,
something Stanley was not used to. I put you a cold plate on ice .

Chapter 11 Reflection
This week s assignment delivered ample food for thought spiritually as well as physically. I
embraced this opportunity to perform a much needed self evaluation, only after reading Barton s
chapter 8, Sabbath, I found myself lacking in every aspect of honoring the peak of God s greatest
creation, the Sabbath, the extraordinary mark of His inspired power. I was guilty, just as the
children Israel of not remembering the power of the awe inspiring Creator. Although I was taught
religiously about things not to do on the Sabbath (Legalistic), however I do not remember hearing
about the Sabbath being a discipline of Establishing Rhythms of work and rest (Creative Sabbath),
as Barton expresses, nor how the Sabbath and prayer work hand in hand to unite... Show more

Troubles in Northern Ireland from the IRA and British...
INTRODUCTION Although much of the blame for the Troubles in Northern Ireland has fallen on
the IRA as a terrorist group, the British government was responsible for numerous acts of state
terrorism in the period. As a result of their frustration towards the situation in the North and their
desperation to stop the IRA from wreaking havoc, the British Armyand police acted in ways that
one would not expect from the representatives of a world power in the late twentieth century. The
British government refused to recognize the legitimacy of the IRA, and instead of combating them
as a military enemy, often resorted to acts of terrorismof their own. These instances of state
terrorism were often a result of pent up frustration and desperation as... Show more content on

Years of British occupation and oppression led to a sustained campaign to regain freedom from
Britain beginning in the early twentieth century. Both the loyalist (supporters of the Union with
Britain) and the republicans (supporters of a united Ireland) were willing to use violence for their
cause. This took form in the 1916 Easter Rising, where Irish rebels declared the independence of
the Irish Republic and fought in Dublin against the British to regain control of their homeland. The
rebels were unsuccessful and were forced to surrender. This lead to the later Irish War of
Independence, and the introduction of the Government of Ireland Act in 1920 and the Anglo Irish
Treaty of 1921, which resulted in the partitioning of Ireland into six counties in the North ruled by
Britain and twenty six counties in the south, newly named the Irish Free State. However, a
significant minority in the North of around forty percent were Irish nationalists who wanted
independence from Britain. Therefore, from its creation in 1920, Northern Ireland was a state whose
citizens differed over their national allegiance. This situation in the North caused a great deal of
tension, as the leaders of the Protestant, unionist majority discriminated against the Catholic,
nationalist minority. So, by the 1960s, Catholic nationalist frustration was manifested in a campaign
for civil rights, to which the state responded with vicious intensity. Those who were

Most Influential Characters Of The Old Testament
Abraham is one the most influential characters of the Old Testament in helping us to understand
the Gospel. He lived 4,000 years ago traveling from what is known today as Iraq to modern day
Israel. He was a friend of God and became a father of faith as well as father to many nations.
Therefore, through this passage, we read about one of the dramatic story of Godtesting Abraham s
faith. It took Abraham twenty five years to finally receive his first heir son and God tells him in
vs. 2 Then God said, Take your son, your only son, whom you love Isaacand go to the land of
Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.

God meant every word in this verse even though He knew exactly how precious Isaac was to
Abraham. I mean it took Abraham until his 100th age to finally bore a son. First lesson we can
learn here is that God does not tempt, He tests us. untested faith is no faith at all Abraham
passed the hardest test ever known to men because he did not withhold his only son simply
because he obeyed the voice of the Lord. The second lesson we can learn from this passage is
Abraham s faith. Abraham had all night and morning to be sacred, worried, sad, and terrified,
about what God had instructed him to do. However because he obeyed God and knew that God
would provide an alternative sacrifice, he had faith in God. In verse 8, Isaac asks Abraham where
is the sheep for the burnt offering, Abraham replied, God will provide a sheep for the burnt
offering, my son.

Relationship Between The Stamp And Currency Act
Before the American Revolution, Great Britain ruled its colonies in North America. The ruling
government imposed strict taxes via its acts of parliament. Most of these taxes raised revenue for
the British troops and settling debts arising from the Indian and French war (1756 1753). This
paper provides details of the Stamp and Currency Acts.
The Stamp Act
On March 22, 1765, the British Parliament passed the Stamp Act which became effective on
November 1, 1765. This act implemented a direct tax requiring the colonies to use stamped papers
on all printed materials (George). The printed materials had a revenue stamp to facilitate tax
collection. Colonies paid the stamp tax using the British currency. The colonies used paper money
that could not pay the stamp tax. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The printed materials included newspapers, legal documents, and magazines among others. On
April 1763, George Grenville became British prime minister replacing John Stuart ( Stamp Act 1765
). Grenville appointed distributors of the stamp in the colonies, some of them included local
colonists. George Grenville initiated the Stamp Act.
The act faced a hostile reception where residents of major colonies protested against the act and
aired their concerns. Stamp distributors were in serious trouble. For instance, protesters hung
Andrew Oliver on an elm tree on August 14, 1765. He distributed stamps in Massachusetts.
Violence continued in critical colonies such as Rhodes Island and New York.
On October 1765, representatives from different colonies met in New York to discuss on
petitioning the Stamp Act. The meeting was known as the Stamp Act Congress. The
representatives provided proof that the parliament did not have the right to tax them. Meanwhile,
protests continued, and so many people lost their lives ( Stamp Act 1765 ). On March 18, 1766,
the royal assent repealed the act.

Abortion Should NOT Be Legal In The United States
With the presidential election being over and the White House along with the Congress having a
big shift from democratic control to Republican control now we the people bring up questions such
as what s going to happen with gun control now, what about the affordable care act, will gay
marriage stay legal, and finally what about abortion. With new laws that have come through that
limit the time period in which a woman can get an abortion some people may wonder if it will
stay legal much longer especially for such a strong republican government that we have right now
they will not waste time trying to get as much done as I can while there is a strong republican
party in the capital. However with abortion is it such a bad thing that we make that illegal in this
great country.
Now I know with your first argument that it s a mother s choice it s her choice of her body she
is the one who has control she is the parent of whatever is inside of her. The statements maybe
true but if only for certain things like for example if the child wants to jump all over their mother

The father should also have a say in the abortion but that s not all. If the person that is getting the
abortion is under age then it is also up to the parents of not only the mother but also the father
and even then it is about the child and the child should have a chance at a life and if the family
didn t want the baby they could have gave the baby up for adoption yes i know people say that if
you just throw the kid in a home that they will be there forever and not get adopted. Yes sadly
this is true a lot of kids even now don t get adopted but it would give the world more people to feed
it with new ideas.

There are two main reasons for air travel leisure and business. Leisure travel is seen to be price
elastic as demand increases when prices drop vice versa. On the other hand business travel is
seen to be price inelastic because a change in price doesn t affect the demand for travel.
Bargaining power of buyers can reduce profitability by lower prices such as Tesco, Walmart.
Kippenberger (1998) states that it is often useful to distinguish potential buyer power from the
buyer s willingness or incentive to use that power. This force is relatively high when there are few
large players in the market and is present when there is a large number of undifferentiated, small
suppliers such as small farming businesses supplying large grocery companies. There is a low
concentration of buyers to suppliers in the airline industry which means that they have little
bargaining power. Increased internet usage has amplified awareness and interaction of customers.
There are two main aircraft manufacturers who have a high bargaining power. They are Boeing

My Junior Year In High School

achievements. As a person I had a major growth, I become more active in school in which was a
huge step for me, and academically, well I ve never seen so many A s since Freshmen year, well
that is if I examine only second semester but overall I felt that my grades were better than last

mind has opened a door which helped me find the inner me that was stuck in for the past 2 years of
high schoollike if I were a bud that has finally opened. I shockley impressed at myself, willing to
accept any new challenges this year which truly helped me become a better person in education
and personally. Starting off the year went well for me, there was a few ups and downs but I
managed to hold on tightly to complete this year. Junior year was certainly a tough challenge for
me , I took AP English Language, based on all of my classes this was the most challenging to me.

myself for not putting time and effort into my work. What I believe AP English Language was

Lean operations emphasizes the understanding of the customer by producing units only as they are
needed. As individual units are manufactured this reduces inventory drastically. This also would
reduce any waste of products created and not sold. Both of these processes would have been a
benefit to my company as there were several units of certain brands that were not desirable or
meeting customer needs. This caused a loss of revenue by having units that were produced but not
sold. The lean operations and Just In Time methods would eliminate this problem from the
manufacturing side of my company.
Work Cells Vs. Traditional Straight Line Method:
By utilizing work cells in my manufacturing facility I would have been able to reduce travel
distance in production due to the fact that all equipment in work cells is modular. This allows
the work cells to be easily arranged or moved as needed. The implementation of work cells
versus straight line manufacturing would have been beneficial also because it provides an
organized workplace and reduced space for inventory or production materials. Also by using the
work cell method of production defects would be easily detected early, this is because with work
cells products are tested at the end of each production cycle making it easier to detect and fix any
defects that may arise.

Viva La Vida And The Count Of Monte Cristo
While each piece of literature is completely different, some of them have similar patterns and
ideas. One of these ideas would be human nature. Human nature is anything that is natural for a
human to do and can not be stopped easily. Things like greed and too much power can change
someone greatly. This can be the cause of many problems and can make someone who is a good
person into a bad person. In Viva La Vidaand The Count of Monte Cristo, the writers use of
allusions and metaphors convey the idea that human nature can be the cause of misfortune.
The story of Viva La Vida, by Coldplay, is about a king who has too much power and ends up
being overthrown from people in his kingdom. Coldplay expresses this story in metaphors.

This king had the key to the castle, meaning that he knew what the people wanted. The way
Coldplay explains this story makes it seem like the people living in the king s castle turned on
him, hence the reference to the walls closing in on himself. This king must have been hated for
something he did, then again, every human makes mistakes. Although, this must not have been
the first time because he lost his whole castle just from a mistake. Then he starts to realize why
he was wrong. The downfall of this king could have been from bragging about his power too
much since it is human nature to brag. Or possibly being overwhelmed with too much power
giving his enemies a chance to attack. Another metaphor with the same meaning can be found in
The Count of Monte Cristo. The same thing that happened to Brutus the night before the Battle
of Philippi: I saw a ghost. And that ghost told me I have lived long enough (Dumas 381). At this
moment in the story, the count is preparing for his duel with Albert. He then tells Maximilien
that he plans on dying during the duel and leaving Maximilien his will. Maximilien is shocked
and asks the count why he would ever do such a thing. The count responds with the above quote.
This quote is a metaphor and shows how it is in a human s nature to want to forget the people
who you don t like. This quote uses the example of Mercedes since she was the ghost that came
to Dantes the night before the duel and begged him not to kill her son. Dantes responds by saying
that he can not live with the dishonor of backing away from a duel, so he agreed to let Albert

Structure And Roles Of The Ten Isoforms Of AC In Mammalian...
Of the ten isoforms of AC that mammalian cells possess, nine of those isoforms are integral
membrane proteins (mACs) and one of them is soluble or exists in the cytoplasm (sACs). The
mAC isoforms are involved in the signaling pathway involving cAMP activating various target
proteins in response to an extracellular stimuli, however the sAC isoform is hypothesized to be
involved with a signaling pathway involved with intracellular stimuli. Cloning of the sAC
revealed that it is biochemically distinct from the other isoforms and it is the more ancient
isoform, as it closely resembles ACs found in cyanobacteria which first evolved over 3 billion
years ago. The sAC is also regulated much differently than the mACs; while the nine other... Show

When in the active conformation, cyclization of ATP occurs through the accomplishment of three
tasks. The first task to complete is deprotonating the 3 hydroxyl group on the ATP ribose to
prepare it for nucleophilic attack of the О± phosphate which AC accomplishes with Asp396 and
Asp440 (Fig 3).1 Asp residues to hold onto metal cofactor Mg2+ and Mn2+; these ions assist in
stabilizing the negative charge on the ОІ and Оі phosphate groups while creating an electron
delocalization at the 3 hydroxyl group. This delocalization draws the electrons from oxygen away
from the hydrogen, sufficiently weakening this bond, and activating this oxygen to be the
nucleophile. The second task of the active site is to stabilize the overabundant negative charge
surrounding the attacked phosphorus. After nucleophilic attack, the phosphorus in the О± position
adopts trigonal bipyramidal geometry: it is bonded with five oxygen atoms and three carry a
negative charge. The excess charge is stabilized by Arg1029 (Fig 4). The third and final task the
active site of AC must accomplish for formation of cAMP is to stabilize the negative charge on the
leaving group, pyrophosphate. To this end, Arg484 and Lys1065 keep pyrophosphate positioned
until catalysis is over (Fig 5). These portions of the active site ensure cyclization of ATP and ATP
alone. The specificity of the binding pocket for ATP over GTP comes from specific residues
within the active site. Guanylyl cyclase (GC) is the sibling

The Importance Of School Dress Codes
An Atlanta school board is set to announce in January its decision on the petition of two 5th
grade students to change the school s dress code. The girls wanted to be allowed to wear
skintight leggings without any skirt or shorts on top of the leggings. Similar debates are taking
place in other schools across the US as students seek more liberal changes to their schools dress
codes. The push is in response to recent changes made by some school boards, similar to public
schools in Evanston, Illinois, which allowed students to wear anything, but the genitalia and the
nipple of the breast must be covered, Psychology Today reported. Liberal dress code The result
of the liberal dress code is many female students go to school wearing skintight leggings and a
tight top that starts just above the breasts and ends above the belly button. It has been a clothing
trend in more than 400 schools the past 16 years. The acceptance of such types of apparel for
school has become so common when at the turn of the millennium, it would be unusual for a
female teenager to attend class in a very short skirt and thin material made of mesh for her top,
with undergarments visible under the mesh. Studies show that when girls frequently wear skintight
leggings or a swimsuit (outside the pool), she is engaged in self objectification. The girl sees
herself as an object of display for others. The more the public the setting is when she wears those
flimsy clothing, the more likely that

Commercial Property Disadvantages
Disadvantages of commercial property 1.Commercial property is susceptible to economic
downturns. 2.The underlying costs may be high. 3.Commercial property can be tough to sell
when values are declining, even when a fund is used. 4.Portfolio use 5.Due to the probable
difficulty in selling commercial property holdings, commercial property is best used to expand
your portfolio instead of as a core portfolio holding. Return expectations from commercial
property There are two possible sources of investment return when it comes to commercial
property. These are: 1.Capital growth: Capital growth refers basically to increases in the value
of property. Capital growth has a tendency to be helpful in times of good financial growth; this
can be uninteresting when growth is slow and damaging in downturns. Just as economic
forecasting has a tendency to be a particularly undependable science, property price forecasting is
likely to be unreliable and pose great differences of opinion. Gains and losses are to be expected,
but may in the end even them out. 2.Rental yield: In due course, rental profit is likely to be a
grander contributor to profits than capital growth, along with being significantly more dependable.
In times when rental yields are great in comparison to government bond yields, it could be wise
time to invest in commercial property. In Ireland and the UK, leases have a tendency to be long,
normally for 10 or more years at the beginning. This means that the rental

An Evaluation Of Intervention ( Rti )
Response to Intervention (RtI) is an academic framework that has been adopted by school districts
across the country to help create a structure in which all students receiving the supports they need to
be successful in school. The RtI Action Network defines RtI as a multi tier approach to the early
identification and support of students with learning and behaviorneeds. (http://www.rtinetwork.org
/learn/what/whatisrti) An RtI framework addresses both academic concerns and behavior
concerns. The behavior framework of RtI is often called Positive Behavioral Interventions and
Supports or PBIS. RtI has three tiers in which to address the academic and behavioral needs of all
students. Tier 1 consists of high quality instruction to all students, including differentiation, and
subsequent screening of all students to determine who is in need of further support. Tier 2 are
targeted interventions for those students who are screened and it has been determined these
students are in need of greater support than what is provided in Tier 1 alone. Tier 3 consists of
intensive interventions for those students who have shown little or no progress with tier 2
interventions and school personnel have determined the student needs more intense and
individualized support. As a school counselor I will be very involved with both RtI Academics and
PBIS as a framework to work with all students and determine the level of support each individual
student will need.

Drinking is one of people s main problems. Drinking distorts self perception and actions. There
are many reasons for drinking: depression, happiness, a social event. These incentives are

His face looked strange. He smiled at the face in the mirror and it grinned back at him. He
winked and it went on. It was not his face but it didn t make any difference. (19) This quote shows
that drinking distorts perception and allows misconception, like Nick sees in his face. His face was
not the same he saw what drinking was doing to him, but it did not matter. There was no other
solution to his problems. He just continued drinking.
Drinking is used as a bandage or a way to forget. It causes no self control and therefore to speak
freely. Hemingway uses drinking as a form of expression, as Nick does realizing he lost the
woman of his life: All he knew was that he had once had Marjorie and that he had lost her. She
was gone and he had sent her away. That was all that mattered. It was all gone, finished. (20)
Since Nick is drunk, it consents him to reflect and express himself openly. This shows that drinking
is seen as a form of expression.
Everything he had just withered away. At that point he realized that drinking was of no use. No
matter how much you drink, it is not a solution to your problems. It keeps going on in a cycle:
There is no use getting drunk. (22) Only after they get drunk do they realize that it is not worth it
and drinking does not help. In the end the two friends don t resolve

Reflection On What I Have Learned About Myself And UW-Madison
I hope all is going well back home in small town, rural Wisconsin. I am writing to you the discuss
and reflect upon what I have learned about myself and UW Madison and how I can utilize those
different lessons I ve learned to make the most out of my Wisconsin Experience and eventually
achieve my personal and professional goals. First and foremost, I cannot begin to start with how
radically different this university and the diversity up here is compared to what I am accustomed
to back home. Walking the streets here was definitely a culture shock for me at first. The
different races and beliefs here were almost overwhelming to begin with, especially after one of
our house meetings discussing those topics. Being around only one thousand people my whole
life, who all shared similar beliefs in many ways put a little shell around me. If someone was
slightly different than everyone else, they were judged and sometimes severely bullied for just
being themselves. I am so very thankful for the eye opening that the University of Wisconsin
Madisonhas provided for me. It not only will allow me to see things with a different perspective,
but it will also give me a new appreciation for all walks of life. The history of high academia and
prestigious standings throughout the country was also a bit intimidating at first. It was hard for
me to think that I could make it amongst tens of thousands of other bright individuals, but I am
confident that I am slowly finding my place, my reason for coming to this university. Being able
to be amongst some of the smartest individuals in the United States has humbled me immensely.
Back home, I was considered the smartest of the smart, earning high honors in all academics.
Here, though, I am merely average. But, I am going to be working every day to set myself aside
from others by finding the thing that I truly excel in and what makes me special. I cannot wait to
begin my courses away from gen eds, and start specializing in the Kinesiology field. Overall, I
know that these ideas will help mefind my purpose here at the University of Wisconsin Madison
and what makes me a true badgerat heart. The immense size of this campus has also taught me a
great deal in self advocacy. You know

Nationalism. One country is fighting for power over the other country, trying to conquer it. Gene

Gene rectifies his own injustice Finny will be hurt, and will trust Gene no longer. The truth is

this situation. In daily life many people keep their personal belongings to themselves. This can be

Unfortunately, during these times, Frank saw how mean kids can be as he was given the

him down but Frank would later use that as a basis for his some of his creations. During this time,
he explored atheism because of these difficulties (Hines, 1986).
Finding and Designing Love
After Frank s father grew sick, the Goldberg family moved to Los Angeles where some of the
family already resided. Ironically, they lived in an apartment that was close to where the Loyola
Law School would be built in later years, according to Frank s blueprints. At this time, the family
was struggling for money and Frank had to find a job. He worked as a delivery truck man who
installed breakfast nooks. It was through this job that Frank would meet Anita Snyder, a woman
who he married later in 1952. Two years later, with the permission of his family, Frank decided
to change their last name to Gehry. The couple had two daughters and the three followed Gehry
to an army base in Georgia (Hines, 1986) and then to Paris (Hines, 1986; Templer, 1999).

Superstition in Huck Finn Essay
Superstitious Times
Some say that superstition is an impractical way of looking at life but the characters in Mark Twain
s, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn beg to differ. Examples of superstition are abundant
throughout the novel. Allowing characters in a novel to have superstitions makes their lives more
realistic and the reading more enjoyable. Huck and Jim s superstitions cause them grief, help them
get through, and sometimes get them into trouble in their lengthy runaway journey. Although both
of these characters tend to be quite rational, they quickly become irrational when anything remotely

is somewhat childish and belief in the reality of witches shows that Huck has a long way to go
before maturation.
In the fourth chapter Huck sees Pap s footprints in the snow. So Huck goes to Jim to ask him
why Pap is there. Jim gets a hair ball that is the size of a fist that he took from an ox s stomach.
Jim asks the hair ball; Why is Pap here? But the hair ball won t answer. Jim says it needs money,

Throughout my primary education the idea and concept of the American Dream has been
repeatedly drilled into my curriculum and brain. I never once thought to question that this dream of
upward mobility is attainable. We are all taught from early on that if you can dream it, you can do
it. Foroohar presents the facts that although that may have been the case years ago, it is no longer
in existence now. As our society changes with new technologyand new changes in government, the
rungs of upward mobility change as well. Foroohar says that even though many aspects of our
society have changed, our idea that any social or economical climb is attainable has not. Many
countries have adapted to changes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The job market is not growing, but the American population is. Big business and government are
not addressing the job crisis for the average working class. Policies are not being put into place to
support those who are suffering. The American Dream seems to be changing into the American
Nightmare. Society is favoring a technologically advanced world of big business where the average
citizen is not looked after or supported. This kind of treatment is hurting not only the working
people, but also the country as a whole. The United States is slipping in the ranks globally, and other
more successful countries have continued to show that maybe the solution to this problem is to
stop and finally listen and tend to the everyday

In the film Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, Ben faces and overcomes obstacles that
transform him into the prominent individual he stands for today. Obstacles one faces will either
build a person or break them. In relation to Ben Carson s life, these obstacles he has thus far
overcome could be clearly noted to have a significantly positive change and meaning in his life. A
few of these many remarkable obstacles take place at different moments in his life including his
education, university and internship years, and his adulthood.
Ben Carson has a potential within him of a great student but does not realize it until it reaches the

Cynthia a 4 year old patient diagnosed with Rasmussen s, has been to numerous doctors to fix
this disorder and they all fail to come up with a solution. Ben takes up this case and concludes on
performing a hemispherectomy. This procedure Ben has never done before, yet he finds a way
to comfort the parents of this child and tell them it will turn out okay. Considering risks this
patient s life could be compared to a gamble, but Ben keeps a positive mind and most importantly
puts his faith in God. Aside from his issues as a surgeon Ben also faces a major problem when
his wife has the miscarriage of the twins. At this point Ben feels what it means to be on the other
side while he waits in the waiting room. This tremendous loss in Ben s life inspires him to take
on a surgery that will in a way make up for the loss. The case of the twins is rare to come by, and
most surgeons will not even consider doing, but Ben decides to work with them and at least give
them a shot at living. He does not give up for a second in this case, he takes this surgery very
personal and spends most of his time reading books trying to figure out a way to save both of
these children s lives. Once Ben finds the key to perform the surgery, which came from the idea of
the dripping faucet having something blocking it, then he proceeds to do the twenty two hour
surgery. He

A Brief Note On Highway Construction Projects And Saudi...
3.1. Chapter introduction
This chapter describes the procedure that was used during the study. This includes data sources,
data collection methods used in gathering information from these sources and the methods used in
analyzing data.
3.2. Data sources
The data sources used during the study included:
Reviewing literature about Health and safety legislations governing highway construction projects
in Saudi Arabia.
Case study analysis of Highway construction projects in Saudi Arabia.
Project managers of highway construction projects in Saudi Arabia.
Workers of highway construction projects in Saudi Arabia.
3.3. Data collection methods
The data collection methods used during the study included questionnaires, interviews, and ... Show

The decision to use interviews was motivated by the need to complement questionnaires.
Additionally, they gave the researcher the opportunity to probe the respondent and thereby getting
more reliable information. This probing also ensured that the validity and reliability of information
was upheld.
3.3.3. Observation
This method of data collection involves watching the behavior of character of research study
objects in order to obtain the required information. The use of this method was motivated by the
need to observe highway construction workers in their work environment. This was necessary to
observe the Health and safety measures that the workers adhere to in their working environment.
3.3.4. Review of health and safety legislations
These records contain legislative information about health and safety precautions that should be
observed in roads constructions. Review of these records was important as a way of ensuring that
there was a baseline for comparing actual health and safety references with what is required by law.
3.4. Sampling
Due to the high number of workers in construction projects, it was not feasible to include all of
them in the study. Therefore, a sampleof these workers was used as a representation of the sample
population.
3.4.1. Sampling method and sample population
A sampling method refers to the procedure used in selecting a sample from a sample population. A
sample population refers to the total number of subjects

Notes On Bloom s Connection Puzzles
Bloom s Connection Puzzles
a. The course content I would use this strategy for would be in Social Studies. However, this
concept could be applied to any area that would be taught in the eighth grade.
b. The learner will identify significant events, people, and documents in the major eras of United
States history.
c. This selected activity would work well for this content because it will allow the students to
explore different areas of a topic to help finish the puzzle. My thoughts are that this would be an
ongoing project that might take several days, weeks, or even the entire year as the students
explore United States history. My vision for this activity is to use puzzle pieces that are color
coded. One specific color for who, what, where, when, why, and how. The start of any puzzle
column could be any color and will be created by either the teacher or the student. The students and
teachers will then finish the puzzle column with as many different puzzle colors that are possible
that will help to explain the original puzzle piece. For instance, I might start with a who puzzle
piece with the name Rosa Parks. The students would then search that person to find how further
information to place on connecting color coded puzzle pieces. Another start might be a what with
Stamp Act written on it. The students would then find out further information to finish the puzzle.
Each column of the puzzle pieces would sit side by side to create a larger puzzle of our United

Attending School Facilitates A Process Of Maturing
Attending school facilitates a process of maturing because students brings life experiences that have
exposed them to multiple perspectives and ideas that differ from the values, traditions or beliefs of
others. At times these diverse beliefs and outlooks may cause conflicts among classmates, co
workers, bosses, and perhaps school administrators. Our upbringing also affects the way we deal
with the challenges of working and interacting with others on a daily basis not just in school, but
also in other settings. My particular individual situation involved unique circumstances and resulted
in outcomes that included confusion, contradiction, and frustration. I have worked with students
and instructors at school for much of my life and in a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At work, my responsibilities besides my cashier duties range from working in customer service
to jewelry, stocking, and setting up displays. Sometimes also I retrieve shopping carts or even
clean. The manager, who assigns and oversees these tasks, has a different method of working
than I do. I prefer to take my time so that things are done right and I avoid complications or
errors; thus, my careful approach attempts to ensure that we will not have to redo the project. I
also like to have fun at work, whether joking around, making short conversation, or singing
along with my co workers to the store s radio. My manager, on the other hand, likes things done
in the fastest possible way, risking potential mistakes that come with rushing. He prefers
working quietly, not talking with one another or singing to make the time go quickly. We agree
that our displays should look their best, that everything should be organized so cleaning up is
easier for us, and that the shopping experience should be easy and pleasant for customers. We
compromise while working together so we can get the best out of each other as individuals and
as a team. For example, the manager sometimes lets us listen to music, but he asks that individual
employees keep to themselves and get everything done in a timely manner. If a co worker and I
are assigned merchandise to display, we first assemble the display. We then unpack the
merchandise and discuss what design or layout would look best. If we re

The Untold Story By Jonathan Berent
Social Anxiety Although they recognize that the fear is excessive and unreasonable, people
with social anxiety disorder feel powerless against their anxiety. They are mortified they will
humiliate or embarrass themselves in public situations. Social anxiety is the fear of being
judged by peers that has no known causes and can be treated with special help by doctors. Social
anxiety is the bear of interaction with other people that brings on self consciousness, feeling of
being negatively judged and evaluated, and, as a result, leads to avoidance said Jonathan Berent,
author of The Untold Story . It is known as a phobia that is most commonly known with

According to Lesley Stabinsky Compton (Social anxiety disorder in children and teens), Some
of the most common anxiety symptoms are a trembling voice, crying, screaming, changes in

people there, that could be caused by social anxiety. There are multiple symptoms and causes
that are still unknown today. How can someone treat social anxiety? Some of the most common
ways to treat social anxiety is therapy. But, there is multiple types of therapy. Like there is
group therapy or one on one therapy. But there is a problem with therapy. They say that therapist

which is false because they really don t understand or know what to say about it. (What is social

Leslie Feinberg s Stone Butch Blues
In many ways, Leslie Feinberg s Stone Butch Blues does more than explore what it means to be
a part of the LGBTQ community. In many ways, Stone Butch Blues is a how to book just as
much as it is a lifeline for the LGBTQ community. It is a how to book in the sense it examines
how to be a member of the LGBTQ community, while at the same time revealing the follies of a
definitive correct way how. In doing so, Feinberg reveals not only the performative nature of gender
, but also how the concept of gender and strict binaries can be a destructing and limiting forced
within and outside of the LGBTQ community.

threat to their own identities and own position within the system of power. As a result, Jess s

gender [ a group of girls squealed as I passed, Is it animal, mineral, or vegetable? (24)], or letting
her know Jess [isn t] a girl s name (25), her classmates deprive her of the option to define her own

stripping her to see how [she] tinkles (18) and once she s in high school, it progresses even further
to the rape. The dissonance of needing to categorize her while at the same time being unable to do
so is perhaps so conflicting they have nowhere to go but violence.
After growing up with an unsympathetic family and unimaginable circumstances, Jess has
nowhere to go but out. It is as if she is physically propelled out of a space she can no longer

finding a community: When I stepped inside, it was just a bar.

The Coordinated Management Of Meaning Theory
The Coordinated Management of Meaning theory (CMM) is a theory that is intriguing to me
personally because it is unlike any of the previous theories we have read about or talked about it. It
is the only theory so far that has actual steps to evaluate communication between two people. The
CMM theory has six building blocks to evaluate communication: content (what is said), speech act
(the way the content is interpreted), episode (what is inside and outside an interaction),
relationships (scripted way we interact with others) , autobiography (individuals view of himself or
herself), and cultural patterns (understanding of different cultures or societies when the content was
said). This CMM theoryis viewed through the determinism human nature because the theory...

Sophie s Contribution To The American Revolution
Sophie Germain was born April 1st of 1776, an era of revolution. The American Revolution
began around the year of her birth. Then thirteen years passed when the French Revolution
began in her own country. In many ways Sophie personified the spirit of revolution into which
she was born. She was a middle class female who went against the wishes of her family and the
social prejudices of the time to become a highly recognized mathematician. Like the member of a
revolution, her life was full of determination, up and downhill struggles. It took a long time for
her to be recognized and appreciated for her contributions to the field of mathematics, but she did
not give up. Because she was a woman she was never given as much credit as she was due... Show

At about this time the French Academy of Sciences announced a contest to explain the underlying
mathematical law of a German physicist s study on the vibration of elastic surfaces. Sophie was
fascinated and set out to explain the law underlying Chladni s study. The Academy set a two year
deadline, and in 1811 Sophie submitted the only entry in the contest. Her lack of formal education
was evident in the anonymous paper she submitted, and thus she was not awarded the prize. She
still had much to learn in the area. Lagrange was able to correct her errors and two years later she
again entered the contest which had been extended. She received honorable mention this time.
Finally in 1816, she entered the contest for the third time and won with her paper Memoir on the
Vibrations of Elastic Plates. Upon earning the prize, the judges did relate that there were some
serious shortcomings in her explanation. These shortcomings would not be corrected for decades.
After winning the contest, Sophie continued her work on the theory of elasticity publishing several
more memoirs. The most important of these deals with the nature, bounds, and extent of elastic
surfaces (Osen 90). Her work in the theory of elasticity would prove to be very important to the

Social Leadership, Global Management, And Millennial...
Chapter Two
In this chapter, it will provide an overview of the literature that has been included in this proposed
study. The literature used in this chapter was developed and reviewed by various articles, books,
magazines, website journals, and peer reviewed articles on management, mentoring, global
leadership, global management, and millennial leadership.
The gaps in literature within this study were based on literature that was used between 1999 and
present. The conceptual framework used in this proposed study has been designed and based off
of an exploratory qualitative research design. The content used within this proposed study are to
review the literature used within this chapter. This chapter is a presentation of the literature that
has been reviewed and will create a more definitive conceptualization of why the study is needed
and how it can help to benefit millennial leaders in management. A concept is an image or
symbolic representation of an abstract idea. (Chinn Kramer, 1999) A conceptual framework helps
to provide a model that gives direction to the study. It helps to enable the researcher to provide and
show relationships of different constructs that is intended for the research. It also helps to outline
possible courses of action to present an approach or idea for the intended study.
Chapter two will contain the following, it will provide the reader with a narrative about the
proposed research, after which it will discuss how the literature from the study

What Criteria Could You Differentiate Among Multiple...
Questions
1. How would you differentiate among multiple discriminant analysis, regression analysis, logistic
regression analysis, and analysis of variance?
The main difference is in the number of independent and dependent variables and the way in which
these variables are measured. Note the following definitions:
In Multiple discriminant analysis (MDA), the predictor or independent variables are metric and the
single criterion or dependent variable is non metric . In Regression Analysis , both the multiple
independent variables and the single dependent variable are metric. In Analysis of Variance
(ANOVA) , the single independent variable is non metric and the multiple dependent variables are
metric.

The result is an upward bias in statistical significance that must be identified during the analysis and
interpretation.
4. How would you determine the optimum cutting score?
For equal group sizes, the optimum cutting score is defined by ZA + ZB
ZCE =
N
ZCE is the critical cutting score value for equal size groups, ZA is the centroid for group A and ZB
is the centroid for Group B and N is the total sample size.
For unequal group sizes, the optimum cutting score is defined by NAZA + NBZB
ZCU =
NA + NB
ZCU = is the critical cutting score value for unequal size groups, NA is the sample size for group A
and NB is the sample size for Group B
5. How would you determine whether the classification accuracy of the discriminant function is
sufficiently high relative to chance classification?
There has to be some chance criterion that should be established. This is generally a fairly straight
forward function of the classifications that is used in the model and of the sample size. The authors
then suggest the criterion that the classification accuracy or the hit ratio must be at least twenty
five percent greater than by chance. Other test can be to use a test of proportions to examine for the
significance between the obtained hit ratio proportion and the chance criterion proportion .

Red Flags That Indicate A Home For Sale Might Have Problems
Looking for the right new home to buy can be both fun and stressful. It s disheartening to find a
home in a good location that you love only to find out something is wrong with it. However, it s
best to find out about problems before you buy. Homeowners aren t always forthcoming with
problems you should know about, however, they may be required to disclose certain things. Here
are some red flags to look for when shopping for real estate that may help you avoid a home with
hidden problems.
The House Has Been On The Market A Long Time
If homes in the area tend to sell at a reasonable pace, be leery of a home that s been on the market

It could save you from buying a home with legal trouble or that has structural damage. Carefully
consider buying a home that you might not be able to sell quickly in the future if you need to.
Several Homes Are For Sale In The Same Area
Another red flag is when several homes are for sale on the same street or in the same condo
building. This situation could be a coincidence, and sometimes neighbors are prompted to list their
home when buyers are in the area looking at other homes, but a more serious problem could be
prompting people to sell. There might be problems in the neighborhood such as increased crime or
problem residents.
When There s Vacant Land Nearby
While it might seem nice that there s not a house close to the one you re interested in, buying
next to vacant land is risky. At some point, a house may go up there and you ll be subjected to
many months of construction noise and traffic. Plus, if the lot becomes unattended, it will be an
eyesore and attract pests. Also, find out about plans for large tracts of vacant land near the
neighborhood. If the home is in a big city, the land might be developed with condos or a shopping
center at some time in the

Executive Summary Tim s Coffee Shoppe set up outside looks very appealing for customers to go
inside and have a cup of coffee. When looking at the inside the atmosphere looks appealing for
customers. The business is also open every day from 6am to 2am with a bus stop close to the
business so it is easier to get too when not having a vehicle. Notice that the restaurant is located next
to the college. With having a coffee shop next to a college this will mostly attract more college
students and also with having live entertainment this should get more customers to come in. With
the live entertainment I noticed that there is no time schedule to when the live entertainment is

employees fill out their time cards correctly. There has been one employee that has received four
warnings throughout working at Tim s Coffee Shoppe, this employees warnings involve being
rude to the customers and to the other employees that also work there. Most of the employees
enjoy working there and with their managers. However there is one employee that felt like she
was not going to get anywhere by working so she is going to put her two weeks in so she can go
work for one of the competitors. One employee suggests that they need to have better cash
registers so they do not have to go through the paper receipts to make sure everything is
accounted for at the ending of a shift. With the one person that keeps getting the warnings I
suggest of letting him go so there is no more problems between him and the customers or
employees. When the one employee suggested that the new owner to get new cash registers I feel
that it might be a good idea so it is much easier to keep track of what is being sold. Also to keep
better track of the mistakes that might happen during the shifts. Also with having better cash
registers the restaurant could always start accepting

  • 2. Essay about Williams s Use of Symbolic Reference in The... Williams s Use of Symbolic Reference in The Glass Menagerie Tennessee William s wrote The Glass Menagerie basing it on himself and his life, although not always in detail. Tennessee s life was not one of perfection. It had a lot of downs causing the play to be a very sentimental, dimly lighted and emotionally play. Although this play has a very basic story line Tennessee use of symbolism crates a much more meaningful story of the Wingfild family. Symbolism is used in almost every object, character and in the language used throughout the play. There are not very many props used on stage, apart from basic necessary props such as the settee and table. Other props are much more significant to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jim calls her this name; the gentleman caller who has comes over to the apartment for dinner. Jim also went to the same high school as Laura. This is were the name came about: Aw, yes I ve placed you now! I used to call you Blue Roses… . Jim once asked Laura why she had not attended school for a few days, when she replied Pleurosis Jim misheard and from then on he called her Blue Roses. Blue Roses is a very symbolic phrase, it describes Laura s character very well, because roses are not blue, therefore it shows that it is a special and unique rose. This is how Laura is, she is also special and unique, because she has a minor physical defect, one of her legs is shorter than the other. Laura also has a very exceptional character, we can see this from what Jim tells her: …other people are not such wonderful people. They re one hundred times one thousand. You re one times one! They walk all over the earth. You just stay here. They re common as weed, but you well, you re Blue Roses! . Laura and Tom were abandoned by their father and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Land Use And Land Cover Changes CHAPTER ONE 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1. Background of the study Land use and land cover changes (LULCC) induced by human and natural processes a major role in global as well as regional scale patterns of the climate and biogeochemistry of the earth system (Ramachandra et al., 2012).Now a day s Global warming is highly increasing as a result of massive land use and land cover (LULC) changes. The change in land use land cover leads to environmental change, rainy season fluctuation, increase sea surface temperature (SST) and land surface temperature (LST). This massive land use and land cover change is due increase the need of land for settlement and agricultural. Land is scarce (limited) natural resource which cannot be change when the number of population increases. Land use should be matched with land capacity and at the same time it should respect the environment, and global climate system (FAO/UNEP, 1999).Land use is converting over time and the most important driving force of land use changes the human need. Human population is increasing and it causes transformation of natural ecosystems into human landscapes. Human settlements, the need for farmland and especially, large urban and industrial areas significantly modify their environment. Changing from permeable and moist land uses to impermeable and dry one with paving and building material can sharply affect energy budget and land surface temperature (Guo et al., 2012), as well as ... • 4. Analysis Of Sandra Cisneros Twelve And Ray Bradbury s... Characters. They are the foundation of a storyline. However, what is the significance of having realistic characters? Authors construct a story with realistic characters to enable readers in familiarizing themselves with the character. In Sandra Cisneros Eleven and Ray Bradbury s The Veldt, both authors reveal realistic characters by using descriptive writing with the use of literary devices, utilizing dialogue that reflects their young ages and developing the characters by encountering various types of narrations. The authors use realistic characters to provide a better reflection about the coming of age as a theme. Writers utilize descriptive writing to create a clear depiction of people, objects or events by emphasizing important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He [George] could feel it on his neck, still, like a hot paw...And the smell of blood. (Bradbury 3). The author uses a simile to compare the heat of the sun to a hot paw in the African veldt which emphasizes the positive thoughts of the children. The smell of blood refers to death, which transitions into an unexpected thought from children. Bradbury uses a technique called foreshadowing by contrasting the positive thoughts and negative thoughts of the children. This explains the variation in the age of Peter as his thoughts begin to expand. Therefore, descriptive writing with the use of literacy devices reflect the overall theme; coming of age to create realistic characters. Authors use dialogues as a technique to display an important conversation between two characters or more. Realistic characters would comprise dialogues consisting apparent speech manners of a human being. Through dialogues, characters can interact in a way that could reveal expositional information (age) about a character which seems to be realistic. For example, Cisneros exaggerates the nervousness in Rachel, when she says, That s not, I don t, you re not...Not mine (Cisneros 2) after a classmate declares that the red sweater belongs to Rachel. The writer uses an ellipsis; a pause after every few words to emphasize the idea of Rachel not being able to speak up for herself, which allows the reader to fill in their own insights about the character. Rachel endeavors to say that s not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. To What Extent Can Blanche Dubois Be Described as a Victim... This play is about people who display cruelty and harshness in their treatment to others, especially those who are weak and vulnerable. Blanche Dubois is the central victim of mistreatment even though she had tried to make Stanley the victim. She displays her self as fragile and moth like, dealing out her share of insensitivities that happened during her younger days. Also because of her moth like image, the other characters see her as an easy target to knock down and use her insecurities against her. Her figure and appearance also reveals her vulnerability and delicacy. He desperate attempts to reinvent her self in front of Steila and Stanley ends up with her sympathizing with her self and allowing them to pick up on her disturbing past. On Stanley s behalf they end up rejecting her like she rejected her husband and shortly enough she slips into her own insanity. It was not just her self that put her in the lime light of being a victim; it is also her new change of environment and people. Stanley is Stella s husband; he is described to be very masculine and aware of his sexual magnetism. Strongly, compactly built . He is mostly at ease with people however, if they lack loyalty and affection to him, he will bully them. Especially women, as he believes them just to be easy conflict. It is seen in scene 3 that Stanley has little respect for women. I said to hush up! This is addressed to his wife who is seen emotionless and impassive in this play. As for Blanche how is fussy and at edge, she would be very effected by the crude attitude that Stanley presents and so tries to hysterical take Stella away from her husband. Stanley does not forget of this act of interference and makes him all the more determined to be rid of Stella s charity case . The real reason for Stanley s bulling is that Blanche immediately received all Stella s attention. How about my supper huh? I m not going to no Galatorires for supper This made Stella dominant in power over Stanley and Blanche, something Stanley was not used to. I put you a cold plate on ice . ... • 6. Chapter 11 Reflection This week s assignment delivered ample food for thought spiritually as well as physically. I embraced this opportunity to perform a much needed self evaluation, only after reading Barton s chapter 8, Sabbath, I found myself lacking in every aspect of honoring the peak of God s greatest creation, the Sabbath, the extraordinary mark of His inspired power. I was guilty, just as the children Israel of not remembering the power of the awe inspiring Creator. Muller is correct and on point, we must permit time to rest physically, emotionally, and most important spiritually. • 7. Troubles in Northern Ireland from the IRA and British... INTRODUCTION Although much of the blame for the Troubles in Northern Ireland has fallen on the IRA as a terrorist group, the British government was responsible for numerous acts of state terrorism in the period. As a result of their frustration towards the situation in the North and their desperation to stop the IRA from wreaking havoc, the British Armyand police acted in ways that one would not expect from the representatives of a world power in the late twentieth century. The British government refused to recognize the legitimacy of the IRA, and instead of combating them as a military enemy, often resorted to acts of terrorismof their own. These instances of state terrorism were often a result of pent up frustration and desperation as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Years of British occupation and oppression led to a sustained campaign to regain freedom from Britain beginning in the early twentieth century. Both the loyalist (supporters of the Union with Britain) and the republicans (supporters of a united Ireland) were willing to use violence for their cause. This took form in the 1916 Easter Rising, where Irish rebels declared the independence of the Irish Republic and fought in Dublin against the British to regain control of their homeland. The rebels were unsuccessful and were forced to surrender. This lead to the later Irish War of Independence, and the introduction of the Government of Ireland Act in 1920 and the Anglo Irish Treaty of 1921, which resulted in the partitioning of Ireland into six counties in the North ruled by Britain and twenty six counties in the south, newly named the Irish Free State. However, a significant minority in the North of around forty percent were Irish nationalists who wanted independence from Britain. Therefore, from its creation in 1920, Northern Ireland was a state whose citizens differed over their national allegiance. This situation in the North caused a great deal of tension, as the leaders of the Protestant, unionist majority discriminated against the Catholic, nationalist minority. So, by the 1960s, Catholic nationalist frustration was manifested in a campaign for civil rights, to which the state responded with vicious intensity. Those who were ... • 8. Most Influential Characters Of The Old Testament Abraham is one the most influential characters of the Old Testament in helping us to understand the Gospel. He lived 4,000 years ago traveling from what is known today as Iraq to modern day Israel. He was a friend of God and became a father of faith as well as father to many nations. Therefore, through this passage, we read about one of the dramatic story of Godtesting Abraham s faith. It took Abraham twenty five years to finally receive his first heir son and God tells him in vs. 2 Then God said, Take your son, your only son, whom you love Isaacand go to the land of Moriah. The second lesson we can learn from this passage is Abraham s faith. Abraham had all night and morning to be sacred, worried, sad, and terrified, about what God had instructed him to do. However because he obeyed God and knew that God would provide an alternative sacrifice, he had faith in God. • 9. Relationship Between The Stamp And Currency Act Before the American Revolution, Great Britain ruled its colonies in North America. The ruling government imposed strict taxes via its acts of parliament. Most of these taxes raised revenue for the British troops and settling debts arising from the Indian and French war (1756 1753). This paper provides details of the Stamp and Currency Acts. The Stamp Act On March 22, 1765, the British Parliament passed the Stamp Act which became effective on November 1, 1765. This act implemented a direct tax requiring the colonies to use stamped papers on all printed materials (George). The printed materials had a revenue stamp to facilitate tax collection. Colonies paid the stamp tax using the British currency. The colonies used paper money that could not pay the stamp tax. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The act faced a hostile reception where residents of major colonies protested against the act and aired their concerns. Stamp distributors were in serious trouble. For instance, protesters hung Andrew Oliver on an elm tree on August 14, 1765. He distributed stamps in Massachusetts. Violence continued in critical colonies such as Rhodes Island and New York. On October 1765, representatives from different colonies met in New York to discuss on petitioning the Stamp Act. The meeting was known as the Stamp Act Congress. The representatives provided proof that the parliament did not have the right to tax them. Meanwhile, protests continued, and so many people lost their lives ( Stamp Act 1765 ). • 10. Abortion Should NOT Be Legal In The United States With the presidential election being over and the White House along with the Congress having a big shift from democratic control to Republican control now we the people bring up questions such as what s going to happen with gun control now, what about the affordable care act, will gay marriage stay legal, and finally what about abortion. With new laws that have come through that limit the time period in which a woman can get an abortion some people may wonder if it will stay legal much longer especially for such a strong republican government that we have right now they will not waste time trying to get as much done as I can while there is a strong republican party in the capital. However with abortion is it such a bad thing that we make that illegal in this great country. Now I know with your first argument that it s a mother s choice it s her choice of her body she is the one who has control she is the parent of whatever is inside of her. • 20. Viva La Vida And The Count Of Monte Cristo While each piece of literature is completely different, some of them have similar patterns and ideas. One of these ideas would be human nature. Human nature is anything that is natural for a human to do and can not be stopped easily. Things like greed and too much power can change someone greatly. This can be the cause of many problems and can make someone who is a good person into a bad person. In Viva La Vidaand The Count of Monte Cristo, the writers use of allusions and metaphors convey the idea that human nature can be the cause of misfortune. The story of Viva La Vida, by Coldplay, is about a king who has too much power and ends up being overthrown from people in his kingdom. Coldplay expresses this story in metaphors. I used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This king had the key to the castle, meaning that he knew what the people wanted. The way Coldplay explains this story makes it seem like the people living in the king s castle turned on him, hence the reference to the walls closing in on himself. This king must have been hated for something he did, then again, every human makes mistakes. Although, this must not have been the first time because he lost his whole castle just from a mistake. Then he starts to realize why he was wrong. The downfall of this king could have been from bragging about his power too much since it is human nature to brag. Or possibly being overwhelmed with too much power giving his enemies a chance to attack. Another metaphor with the same meaning can be found in The Count of Monte Cristo. The same thing that happened to Brutus the night before the Battle of Philippi: I saw a ghost. And that ghost told me I have lived long enough (Dumas 381). At this moment in the story, the count is preparing for his duel with Albert. He then tells Maximilien that he plans on dying during the duel and leaving Maximilien his will. Maximilien is shocked and asks the count why he would ever do such a thing. The count responds with the above quote. This quote is a metaphor and shows how it is in a human s nature to want to forget the people who you don t like. This quote uses the example of Mercedes since she was the ghost that came to Dantes the night before the duel and begged him not to kill her son. Of the ten isoforms of AC that mammalian cells possess, nine of those isoforms are integral membrane proteins (mACs) and one of them is soluble or exists in the cytoplasm (sACs). The mAC isoforms are involved in the signaling pathway involving cAMP activating various target proteins in response to an extracellular stimuli, however the sAC isoform is hypothesized to be involved with a signaling pathway involved with intracellular stimuli. Cloning of the sAC revealed that it is biochemically distinct from the other isoforms and it is the more ancient isoform, as it closely resembles ACs found in cyanobacteria which first evolved over 3 billion years ago. The sAC is also regulated much differently than the mACs; while the nine other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When in the active conformation, cyclization of ATP occurs through the accomplishment of three tasks. The first task to complete is deprotonating the 3 hydroxyl group on the ATP ribose to prepare it for nucleophilic attack of the О± phosphate which AC accomplishes with Asp396 and Asp440 (Fig 3).1 Asp residues to hold onto metal cofactor Mg2+ and Mn2+; these ions assist in stabilizing the negative charge on the ОІ and Оі phosphate groups while creating an electron delocalization at the 3 hydroxyl group. This delocalization draws the electrons from oxygen away from the hydrogen, sufficiently weakening this bond, and activating this oxygen to be the nucleophile. The second task of the active site is to stabilize the overabundant negative charge surrounding the attacked phosphorus. After nucleophilic attack, the phosphorus in the О± position adopts trigonal bipyramidal geometry: it is bonded with five oxygen atoms and three carry a negative charge. The excess charge is stabilized by Arg1029 (Fig 4). The third and final task the active site of AC must accomplish for formation of cAMP is to stabilize the negative charge on the leaving group, pyrophosphate. To this end, Arg484 and Lys1065 keep pyrophosphate positioned until catalysis is over (Fig 5). These portions of the active site ensure cyclization of ATP and ATP alone. The specificity of the binding pocket for ATP over GTP comes from specific residues within the active site. Guanylyl cyclase (GC) is the sibling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Return expectations from commercial property There are two possible sources of investment return when it comes to commercial property. These are: 1.Capital growth: Capital growth refers basically to increases in the value of property. Capital growth has a tendency to be helpful in times of good financial growth; this can be uninteresting when growth is slow and damaging in downturns. Just as economic forecasting has a tendency to be a particularly undependable science, property price forecasting is likely to be unreliable and pose great differences of opinion. Gains and losses are to be expected, but may in the end even them out. 2.Rental yield: In due course, rental profit is likely to be a grander contributor to profits than capital growth, along with being significantly more dependable. In times when rental yields are great in comparison to government bond yields, it could be wise time to invest in commercial property. I am writing to you the discuss and reflect upon what I have learned about myself and UW Madison and how I can utilize those different lessons I ve learned to make the most out of my Wisconsin Experience and eventually achieve my personal and professional goals. First and foremost, I cannot begin to start with how radically different this university and the diversity up here is compared to what I am accustomed to back home. Walking the streets here was definitely a culture shock for me at first. The different races and beliefs here were almost overwhelming to begin with, especially after one of our house meetings discussing those topics. Being around only one thousand people my whole life, who all shared similar beliefs in many ways put a little shell around me. If someone was slightly different than everyone else, they were judged and sometimes severely bullied for just being themselves. I am so very thankful for the eye opening that the University of Wisconsin Madisonhas provided for me. It not only will allow me to see things with a different perspective, but it will also give me a new appreciation for all walks of life. The history of high academia and prestigious standings throughout the country was also a bit intimidating at first. Any litter and debris will work its way up to the Bay from the rivers and smother any grass beds along with bottom dwelling creators and add chemical contaminants to the water. Gene is competing with him and decides to make him fall down the tree, which is social injustice. Like the war countries are fighting to see which one stands tall. During World War 2 there were millions of deaths and casualties. Wars usually start with some type of spark and that spark was Imperialism and Nationalism. One country is fighting for power over the other country, trying to conquer it. Gene is fighting his own war against himself and Finny trying to see who is better. The truth even hurts Gene himself in this situation. In daily life many people keep their personal belongings to themselves. This can be represented as a secret, or the truth, Sharing it sometimes can result in social conflict, or fear of someone or something. In my opinion as well as many others, people say that the truth should be said even though when the event occurs that someone asks about something, telling that person the truth can result in consequences or mistrust. Looking at another point of anger, usually wars start with something that angers a country. For example, when the United States of America tried to stop Germany in World War 1 Germany fought harder and this resulted in over 100,000 American casualties. Stopping someone from their actions sometimes results in conflict between that person, and the person who said that. There are boundaries between people that should not be ... How would you differentiate among multiple discriminant analysis, regression analysis, logistic regression analysis, and analysis of variance? The main difference is in the number of independent and dependent variables and the way in which these variables are measured. Note the following definitions: In Multiple discriminant analysis (MDA), the predictor or independent variables are metric and the single criterion or dependent variable is non metric . How would you determine whether the classification accuracy of the discriminant function is sufficiently high relative to chance classification? There has to be some chance criterion that should be established. This is generally a fairly straight forward function of the classifications that is used in the model and of the sample size. The authors then suggest the criterion that the classification accuracy or the hit ratio must be at least twenty five percent greater than by chance. Other test can be to use a test of proportions to examine for the significance between the obtained hit ratio proportion and the chance criterion proportion . 6.
