Good Argumentative Essay Sample
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Good Argumentative Essay Sample" presents both
challenges and opportunities. At first glance, the topic may seem straightforward, as it implies
the need to provide a high-quality example of an argumentative essay. However, delving deeper
reveals the intricacies involved in selecting a compelling argument, structuring the essay
effectively, and presenting evidence persuasively.
One hurdle lies in the initial phase of choosing a topic that not only aligns with the
argumentative essay format but also sparks interest and engagement. This requires thorough
research and critical thinking to identify a relevant and contentious issue. The process involves
evaluating potential topics for their suitability in generating a well-supported argument,
considering the availability of credible sources, and gauging the potential for counterarguments.
Once a topic is chosen, the next challenge arises in constructing a coherent and logical
argumentative essay. This involves crafting a clear thesis statement, outlining key points, and
organizing evidence in a manner that builds a persuasive case. The ability to seamlessly integrate
facts, statistics, and expert opinions requires a nuanced understanding of the chosen topic and
effective communication skills.
Moreover, addressing potential counterarguments adds another layer of complexity. Anticipating
opposing viewpoints and skillfully refuting them demonstrates the depth of research and critical
analysis undertaken during the essay-writing process. Striking the right balance between
presenting one's perspective and acknowledging opposing views is crucial for a well-rounded
and convincing argument.
In terms of language and style, maintaining a formal and persuasive tone throughout the essay
requires careful consideration. Clarity and conciseness are essential, and the use of appropriate
evidence and examples further enhances the overall quality of the essay. A thorough revision
process is necessary to ensure coherence, coherence, and the absence of grammatical errors.
While the challenges are evident, the process of creating a good argumentative essay sample also
offers valuable opportunities for intellectual growth. It encourages the development of research
skills, critical thinking abilities, and effective communication strategies. Successful completion of
such an essay reflects not only a mastery of the chosen topic but also a proficiency in the art of
persuasion.
In conclusion, navigating the intricacies of crafting a good argumentative essay sample requires
careful consideration of topic selection, effective organization, persuasive writing, and skillful
counterargumentation. The process is undoubtedly challenging but offers a platform for
intellectual growth and development. For those seeking assistance, it's worth exploring external
resources like HelpWriting.net, where similar essays and more can be ordered to ease the
burden of essay composition.

The Treatment Of Diabetes Mellitus
Project subjects and Consent The treatment of diabetes is dependent on its type and
its severity, insulin, exercise, and a diabetic diet is used to treat type 1 diabetes,
whiles type 2 diabetes is initially controlled with weight loss, type 2 diabetic diet and
physical activity; when these initiatives fail to balance elevated blood sugars, oral
medications are prescribed and if that proves few futile then insulinand multiple
injectable medications are introduced (Medicinenet2). One cannot prevent type 1
diabetes; however, one can prevent type 2 diabetes by sustaining a balanced weight
and engaging in regular physical activity (Medicinenet2). I will conduct an

Another six days for entering and analyzing the data. The remaining time will be
used to write the report about the project. The goal of the project is to find out if
insulin is effective in the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus (ADA, 2014).
Resources Needed The project will require a lot of human capital and finance.
Money will be needed to buy papers to prepare the questionnaires. I may have to
pay people who participate in the project. I will be paying for their time and drugs
used in the treatment of their diabetes disease. I may need to employ one or two
research assistants to work on the project.
About the questionnaire The questionnaire that I hope to design will ask
participants whether they have Type 1 Diabetes or not. The questionnaire will also
ask about the drugs the participants used for the treatment of their diabetes. One of
the questions that would be asked is whether insulin injection is effective in the
treatment of Type 1 Diabetes? I will also ask some demographic information such
as the age, gender, racial and ethnicity of participants, age of diagnosis of Type 1
Diabetes, dosage of insulin taken each time, what is used for urine and blood testing,
and complication of diabetes that the participants have experienced (ADA, 2014).
Process of delivery The questionnaire will be administered at the same time to all
subjects participating in the project. Before the
Research Paper On Liver Cirrhosis
Liver cirrhosis is a problem that can be caused by many liver diseases. It is a
progressive disease itself, developing slowly over many years. It is characterized as
scarring to the normal liver tissue which keeps this organ from working as it should
and causes it to take on an abnormal structure. The diseases that lead to cirrhosis
injure and kill livercells. Scar tissue that has formed due to inflammation and repair,
prevents the cells that have not died to properly replace the dead cells which result in
newly formed cell clusters forming within the scar tissue.
The liver is one of the most important organs in the body due it performing many
critical functions, two of which are producing substances required by the body such
as clotting
The Negative Effects Of Gender Roles
To put it in simpler terms, gender roles are basically a generalization that is made
about the roles or behavior that is deemed appropriate based on gender. CNN
releases an article by Emanuella Grinberg and Victoria Larned on September 20,
2017 that discusses how gender roles directly affect both boys and girls in their
childhood and adolescence. The authors provide examples of generalizations made
about both males and females. Study was made that concentrated on the health
inequities that stemmed from genderroles. The digital news writers suggest that
enforcing gender roles can lead individuals to feel the need to conform, to have low
self esteem, and fear ostracism. It is proposed that children and teens should be
advised about sex, relationships, and identity at an earlier age to reduce the impact
made from enforcing these gender stereotypes. Based on the research and study,
efforts should be made to reduce the negative effects of gender roles on society.
Keywords: stereotypes, gender roles, generalizations
Many have conducted research and studies on the idea of the gender roles, and
center their focus on the evolutionary aspect, how boys differ from girls, or how
people are greatly influenced by them. However, an article written by two digital
news writers, Emanuella Grinberg and Victoria Larned, put the spotlight on the
mental and health problems that arise in society as consequences of enforcing these
generalizations. Knowledge on the
Water Potential Essay
The western part of the country has exhibited the criteria that has warranted water
relocation efforts. For a time, the water diversion efforts worked to serve the
communities around it appropriately. However, as the withdrawal of water has
exceeded the supply and as climate change has contributed to decreasing water supply
, there are serious threats to the future of available water in the western United States.
One proposed solution involves diverting water from the Great Lakes in Michigan to
the southwest. The location of the Great Lakes, positioned between the United States
and Canada, leads to international considerations and a controversial problems
regarding international law. The lakes serve as a water source to both the Americans...

Thus, there is a high demand for water. At present, Pennsylvania does not face the
water shortages that warrant water relocation, however, if surface and groundwater
withdrawals increase it could push Pennsylvania closer to considering installing more
hydrological alterations and exacerbate the problems that currently face the nation as
a whole.
There is a clear demand for water in locations that do not naturally have an adequate
supply. Water diversion projects serve their purpose in providing water for individual
consumers as well as for irrigation and industry. However, as illustrated in this paper,
there are severe consequences that arise when disrupting the natural flow of water the
ecosystem around it. To mitigate some of the consequences national geographic has
suggested restricting the construction of dams, providing incentives for farming
business to reduce the use of pesticides, establishing protected wetlands areas, and
regulating water withdrawal for human use (Freshwater Threats, 2016). It is
important that the solutions to reduce the negative effects of hydrological alterations
are aimed at various areas. Efforts should be aimed at reducing the demand for water
by increasing efficiency in industry and irrigation as well as increasing the efficiency
of water delivery. Efforts should be aimed at the careful planning, engineering, and
construction of the hydrological alterations with special attention
Until I Was Dying, I Was Not Living. This May Sound...
Until I was dying, I was not living. This may sound paradoxical but this is a major
theme in the story of my life. Thus far, the plot of my life is much like one of those
seen in a 5th grade english class. There is an exposition, rising action, climax, and
the very beginning of a falling action. Although I am sure my life will be filled with
many of these peak shaped plot maps of ups and downs, currently the mountain I am
on has been a steep climb with lots of testing moments along the way.
Growing up, I was a very shy, quiet and independent child. In preschool, I preferred
to play babies or draw quietly rather than run around and scream on the playground. I
enjoyed meeting new people but not in large groups. Once I got to know someone I ...

After class that day, the teacher called me to stay back and asked if I had any
interest in a free ticket to the solar system exhibit at the Science Museum. My face
lit up but I had to turn him down because I had a hockey tournament that weekend.
During those years, I was not authentically myself. I stifled my passions in order to
fit in and be accepted by others. By the time high school came around I was tired of
being someone I wasn t. My freshman year I quit hockey, created a group workout
club called SWEAT, and joined student council. I began taking advanced placement
classes and was finally able to quench my thirst for knowledge. I grew apart from
my friend group and decided I didn t need a clique. I was friends with my different
people in many different groups and enjoyed being able to have many friends rather
than a select group. Doing things for myself allowed me to flourish in my own way.
However, in my later high school years I found myself in a fog. I could hardly find
the energy to pull myself out of bed in the mornings, I was falling asleep in class,
drinking ten water bottles a day, and eating at least 6 meals a day but losing ten
pounds a week. By the time I was 80 pounds it was clear that something was not
right. I distinctly remember sitting in the parking lot at school thinking to myself
that I was not comfortable in my own skin. A few days later I ended up in the
emergency room and was diagnosed a type one diabetic. My

The story is set in the future when robots are developed. These robots are not only
used for labour purposes, but also used for entertainment. A special series of robots
are designed to entertain people. They are the Golders, who are the dancers, the
Coppers, who are the actors and the Silvers who are the musicians. When Jane first
saw one of the Silvers, she was enamored with the robot s perfection. She sold all
her belongings in order to own him. To Jane, he is no longer a robot but a real human

In the end, Silver developed a soul and returned Jane s love, thereby indicating that
Silver is now truly alive. He is a real human as he now has a soul. This is similar to
the time when Galatea comes to life, as she was then a real human.
One significant difference between the myth and the novel is that Pygmalion in the
novel is a girl instead of the novel, while Galatea is a male robot. Also, the male
dominant idea in the myth disappeared. Instead, the author mainly concentrates on
creating equal status between Jane and the robot. However, both texts valued love
and romance above all things. While other values such as family relationships are
less important. Language appearance is also an important idea in the novel. Silver
s appearance, is far above all man. For example as Jane s friend Egyptia said: Beauty,
acrobatics, tenderness, humor, prowess. It s ruined me for a man for weeks. Jane
fell in love with him because of his beauty and perfection. Therefore, appearance
plays a key role in the novel as well as the Pygmalion Myth.

The story is told in first person. This helps the reader to gain a better understanding
of the inner feeling of the persona. This is very effective in terms of a love story.

A military installation represents the home of military personnel, it s a place

strength. It is a location where most of the military s conventional weapons are kept.
An attack on such a place will send the message that the United States military

Ancient Greece s Obsession with Beauty Essay
Ancient Greece was one of the most important civilizations in the history of mankind.
Ancient Greece spanned thousands of years, beginning in 1100 BC and ending with
the end of the Hellenistic period in 146 BC. Ancient Greece made many contributions
to the modern world, such as language, politics, philosophy, science, art, architecture,
beauty, and much more. Beauty now a days is in most cases considered as how pretty
something looks on the outside. Most people these days look at outer beauty rather
than inner beauty. Beauty in ancient Greeceis different than beauty now in many

Men would get married around the age of twenty five to thirty. They were very
important in ancient Greece society. In the families the men s role was very
important. The man was in charge of the family. Most men worked during the day
as businessmen or farmers. When men are at the house they were to be treated
with respect. During dinner men might have sat in another room while being
entertained by slaves or women. Men also controlled the government. Children
had different roles depending on the gender weather it was a boy or a girl. Most
girls were taught to clean, cook, and weave which were the basic house chores.
They were also taught songs and dances so they could participate in religious
festivals. Overall the girls did not have much importance in ancient Greece. All
they mostly did as they grew up is how to become a mom and how to become in
charge of a house. On the other hand boys were much more important than the girls
in ancient Greece. At the age of six they were usually sent for school. At school
they learned many different things. They learned how to read, write, and enjoy
poetry and music. They were usually involved in wrestling, running, and many other
gymnastics. They usually began to train for their future jobs at the age of 16. Many
boys that wanted to join the army started training at the age of 7 and finally joined
the army at the age of 20. Other jobs that many choose were to be a businessman, an
Olympic athlete, politician, or to go into
Establishing Training And Development Department
Establishing Training and Development Department Altovise Perry Webster
University It is very important that every company has a successful Training and
Development Department so employees may enhance their skills. We would like
for every company to grow steady and healthy so it can help with employees to
work successfully on their jobs. I develop ways that offers direction and guidance
to businesses that are in the process of establishing a Training and Development
Department. The first thing we need to do is to identify goals. We need to come
up with goals that will make a positive impact on each company. We need to plan
what is very important for the company. This will help with establishing a skillful
culture for the employees. We need to ask questions like: 1.What is the vision and
mission of the company? 2.What types of training and development will best
attracts, retains, and develops the talent needed for success? Knowing the company
s goals, it will dictate what type of training and development department we should
have. Also, we need to assess our training needs. Identify skills we need now and
skills we will need in the future. These skills must drive our decision making
regarding how we will structure our training department. (Johnston, 2015) The
second thing we need to is to acquire training resources. We need to look at what type
of tools to use for our training and development department. Because everyone learns

on in our life. Our sisters started there journey into parenthood and with that we had
new additions to our family. Along with the births of our nephews nieces came
eczema a skin aliment that was not familiar to our family. Simultaneously, while we
were setting up our business, we discovered that opening a Salon Spa was not going
to be easy. We needed to raise capital and I came up with the idea to sell baskets with
lotion, soapand body spray. Me being the person that I am, I wanted those products
to bear our name. I did a extensive search on the internet and found several
companies that did private labeling. We ended up having a full line of bath body
products and at the time I was very happy with the private labelcompany that we were
using. I had always had a interest in making handmade items, the conversations I had
with the private label owner peaked my interest.
I never thought that I would be interested in this sort of thing. I was interested in

only a small number of people making products. At that time handmade product

Religion And Religion Essay
Religion is universal. Although people may have different ideologies and practices,
everyone believes in something, whether they deem it their religion or not. In this
way, religion is a powerful connection between all of humanity; thus, it is important
to understand the people behind religion and how their unique characteristics
correlates with and influences religionwhether that be their social class, ethnicity,
gender, or politics. However, ethnicity and gender, along with the closely linked
topics of sexuality and politics, are the most significant concepts to understand
religion in our modern world. To begin, we should understand the concept of
ethnicity, as well as why I believe ethnicity and gender are important to discuss...

This can create fractures within society and religion as these groups attempt to
reconcile their culture with socially accepted beliefs, as well as decide which of
those beliefs they should reject. This fracture and the long term effects of the
connection between ethnicity and religion can be seen in many religions histories,
for example, Catholicism.
As Christiano discusses, xenophobia and anti Catholicism became tangled as Irish
Catholics immigrated to the U.S. in the nineteenth century. As the Irish became the
majority of the Catholic population, they had to contend with other ethnic Catholics,
as well as contend with the dominant Protestantism (Christiano 162 63). While
nativist hostility to Catholic immigrants continued, Irish immigrants turned in toward
themselves, rejecting the Protestant Americanism of public schools and creating
parochial schools instead to preserve their religion and culture (Christiano 164).
Unfortunately, the continued anti immigration sentiment took part in producing
groups such as the American Patriotic League and the Ku Klux Klan, as well as
creating the Immigration and Naturalization Act, which ended mass immigration for
the next four years (Christiano 164). As we can see,
Industrial Farming And Its Effects On The Environment
Commercial farming today produces over 250 million pounds of the meat that is
eaten. While some see that industrial farming has its benefits such as less man power
with technology, large scale production, and lower prices, (Fredrick, Advantages of
Industrial Agriculture) the industrial food institutions have also had bad effects.
These effects concern agriculture, the environment, human health, and animals.
Industrial farming can lead to environmental degradation, air and water
contamination, loss of biodiversity, loss of marine life, and even poor treatment of
animals kept inside these industrial farms (Horrigan, How sustainable Agriculturecan
Address the Environmental...). Because industrial farming is tied to these bad
effects more sustainable approaches can be made to lessen the severity of this
occurring issue. Industrial farming has had effects on our environment in many
ways. Due to large scale farms having to hold many animals, even millions, this
comes with the responsibility of dealing with animal waste. A lot of this waste is
either put into fields for nourishment or is released throughout the air and even
dumped into lakes or oceans. This causes the water to then become unclean and
useless. Making clean, drinkable water for families and other animals even harder to
access. Woodlands are also cut down in order to produce human consumables that are
then fed to more human consumables. For example, in Argentina many of the
woodlands have been cut down to produce

The Scottish Stereotypes Of Henry Playland And Henry
Playland
In order to increase their marketability, publishers would play on the Scottish
stereotypes which included tartanry, bagpipes and the idea of Scots being brutes.
This stereotype has been argued to have come from how the English view
highlanders. Matthew Gelbart argues that The Gaelic speaking Scots seemed to
outsiders a Sectarian and ungovernable group, still ruled by feudal and barbaric clan
allegiances, and both impenetrable both linguistically and geographically. (Gelbart,
2007, p. 29) This arguably caused the people of Scotlandto become spectacles to
outsiders. In attempt to increase their profits, publishers of eighteenth century
Scotland channelled these stereotypes into what they could sell off as Scottish
music to outsiders. Henry Playford is a prime example of this. Playford published
his Collection of Original Scots tunes (Full of Highland Humours) for the Violin:
Being the First of this Kind yet Printed in 1700. The use of Highland in the title
would have arguably been an attempt from Playford to make this collection appealing
to the English market as it has been argued that the tunes in this collection did not
originate in the Highlands at all. (Gelbart, 2007) From this, it is evident that Scottish
music of the eighteenth century was a reflection of Scottish stereotypes which were
perpetuated by publishers for their own gain.
It could be argued that these stereotypes have not been confined to the eighteenth
century and have been used by more modern
Male And Female Rapper Through Their Music
Male vs. Female rapper through their music Rap music is really popular to us,
young people, and sometimes adults, too. In my opinion, I think that rap is a way
to allow all of the rappers to express themselves, their voices, their experience, and
their feeling from their life. And in some other people opinion, they also describe
rap music as the story or the voice of the streets. According to a music articles The
birth of Rap: A Look Back from NPR.org website, rap music was born and began to
develop in the middle of year 1970s. They are firstly formed and played by the
Black communities, and then slowly spread out to the world. In rap world, at first
they are only male rappers who use music to express themselves and their pain
towards the world. Then, women also began to rap to be able to express their
thoughts more and more. Female and male rapper are sharing the same purpose of
express themselves through their songbut they are different in the way they use their
lyrics, the subject they choose to rap on and the feeling they express to their fans and
their songs listeners.
Female and male rappers are separate themselves when they come to choose their
lyrics to rap. I would say that female rappers are most likely less using negative
words to describe thing or someone else than the male rappers. According to the
article From Fly Girls To Bitches and Hos by Joan Morgan, she stated that male
rapper is usually use the word Bitches and Hos when they describe black

time. The workload of this course is going to be larger than what I was used to in
undergrad, I have come to accept the reality of being a graduate student. After
examining the syllabus, I noticed that the workload is not over whelming, but it will
take time managementskills and dedication. I have reviewed the syllabus more than
once, making sure that I had an understanding of everything that is expected of me in
this course. When reading the syllabus, I did find myself questioning some of the
assignments, but it stated that we would review the instructions more thoroughly
during class. I did not realize that I would be learning so much by reading the first
chapter of our textbook. I found it very interesting that Egan (2014) described two
different styles of helpers, formaland informal. Formal helper s individuals that hold a
role in helping others lives. Informal helpers are individuals that
Porters five forces model
Defination of Porter s five forces model Porter s five forces model is an analysis
tool that uses five forces to determine the profitability of an industry and shape a

important forces affecting the intensity of competition in an industry and its
profitability level. Understanding the tool Five forces model was created by M.
Porter in 1979 to understand how five key competitive forces are affecting an

framework is used to analyze industry s competitive forces and to shape organization
s strategy according to the results of the analysis. But how to use this tool? We have
identified the following steps: Step 1. Gather the information on each of the five

World Myhtology The Golden Guide Analysis
To me, this passage just emphasizes the point that we all have distinctive outlooks
on things. There is a Spanish proverb that my mom used to say to me that reminds
me of that Cada Cabeza es un mundo ( each mind is a world unto itself). Therefore,
just because we see something in a particular way, does not mean that everyone
else see it in the same way. To illustrate, recently I went to the Metropolitan Art
museum with my friend, we walked all over, but I stop and admire a beautiful
abstract painting of Pablo Picasso, to me it was such an experienced like the
painting was transmitting something to me, I was able to feel and perceived
something. However, my friend passed by the painting without even noticing and
simply did not call his attention. I believe that I saw something that made me emote

Analysis Of Healthy Cities
Healthy Cities
It is difficult to measure the health of an entire city since health is multidimensional.
Therefore, looking at population s well being in regards to their physical,
psychological, social, emotional, and spiritual perspectives are necessary. These
dimensions are further affected by health amenities, health promotion, environmental
enhancement, and social care within the city (Webster Sanderson, 2013). In order to
evaluate these four factors, objective and subjective data about the city should be
collected and analyzed.

Nurses often see patients at the hospital, but their view about patients health is
narrow because they do not have an opportunity to assess patients from a
multidimensional perspective. Although health is an individual criterion, people
living in the same community tend to be healthier or unhealthier when compared to
other cities. For example, population from Orange County is considered healthier
than population from Riverside County. By knowing patient s neighborhood, the
nurse can conclude possible community diagnosis and provide resources pertinent
to patients specific location. For instance, if a patient is a resident of Lake
Elsinore and expresses inability to afford a car, the nurse will not provide
education about bus passes because there is no public transportation available in the
city. Instead, she could advise the patient to purchase a bicycle or an adult tricycle.
This form of transportation does not require money for gas or insurance and is a
great way to commute from one place to another in a small city.
Professional and Personal Growth The assessment of Lake Elsinore gave me an

Social Engineering Attacks On Critical Infrastructures
Social Engineering Attacks on critical infrastructures do not always target the
vulnerabilities in the systems themselves. One of the weakest links in security is the
human factor. Social engineering targets this, and it has worked very effectively for
them. According to Raj Samani and Charles McFarland, social engineering is the
deliberate application of deceitful techniques designed to manipulate someone into
divulging information or performing actions that may result in the release of that
information (Samani and McFarland 6). Social engineering attacks are divided into
two categories: hunting and farming. In hunting, the attacker wants to extract
information from the target with little interaction. An example would be a phishing...

An example of the four phases in a phishing attack would be gathering information
about the target in phase one, sending an email to the target that states the purpose in
phase two, asking the target to provide credentials as a recommendation or a required
action in phase three, and ending the interaction once the credentials are provided in
phase four. To defend against social engineering, it is important for organizations to
have an active awareness training program. There are a number of actions that
organizations can take to mitigate risks from social engineering attacks. On the
human side, staff should be aware of social engineering threats and what their roles
and responsibilities are when facing such attacks. Social engineers understand that
people would prefer not to confront somebody in most situations, and they take
advantage of this weakness. Employees should be encouraged to challenge
individuals who are not following organizations policies, like not wearing employee
identification badge for example. Also, companies should have a strong password
policy and employees should be aware that they should not write the password down.
Employees need to understand not to leave confidential documents in plain sight and
shred the documents when they want to discard them. More importantly,
organizations should try not to blame employees when social engineering attacks
happen as the employees are the victims of
Joan of Arc Biography
Joan d Arc was one of the most popular Renaissance warriors and is famously
known for her battle at Orleans, which she won, at only 18 years of age. When she
rose to fame, Joan was often called the Maid of Lorraine, showing that she was the
peasant girl from Lorraine.
Born in 1412, Jeanne d Arc, more commonly known as Joan of Arc, was raised in the
small village of DomrГ©my, located in Lorraine, France. Her parents, Jacques d
Arc and Isabelle RomГ©e, were mere peasants that also helped raise her 4 siblings,
Jean d Arc, Pierre d Arc, Catherine d Arc, and Jacquemin d Arc. As a child, Joan
often had to deal with wars, financial struggles, a corrupt government, and the
slaying of innocent people, often for no reason. This was because of the
simultaneous deaths of the kings of France, King Henry V, and England, King
Charles VI. With them dead, the only heirs to the throne were Charles, who may
not have been Charles VI s biological son, and Henry, who was Catherine (Charles
VI s daughter) and Henry V s son. There was a dispute between the two countries
as to who would rule the other, as Henry was only an infant and Charles might not
have really been an heir. As a result, the Hundred Years War was fought between the
two countries. As Henry grew older, the war raged on. He was eventually crowned
king, but didn t use any of his power to try to win the Hundred Years War; this gives
Henry the title of a Dauphin, someone who has the power to rule but hasn t taken the
initiative; like
How Does Shakespeare Use Ethos In The Winter s Tale
Words are a tremendously powerful tool that can spark different emotions and
reactions causing us to question our intentions. With such passionate displays of
raw emotions, Shakespeare is able to captivate his audience in The Winter s Tale.
Each character displays such authentic feelings that gives life to each word on the
page, helping the reader develop the sense of power and control our feelings can
often mimic. The best way to interpret the play is to submerge ourselves into these
characters realistic emotions that cling to each word. Shakespeare can connect to his
reader s emotions while by demonstrating with each character how powerful words
can be. His use of pathos in his writing helps connects empathy to the characters

In the article, The Pedagogy of Emotional Response: Feeling Shakespeare s The
Winter s Tale by James Lambert, he refers to the Cognitive Emotional Pedagogy
which is a a relatively recent theory that maintains that the brain s cognitive
functions are activated by a person s emotional memory and state (28). As in, the
best way to interpret this play is for the readers to develop a sense of feeling to the
play in order to analyzing and learn from it. I believe Shakespeare is able to do that
by demonstrating the influence words have over the characters thus creating the
emotional reactions inside the play that the audience can relate too. For example,
many people can relate to Hermione where they have tried to convince someone
something isn t true but no matter what they say, it will never change. As a teacher, I
want my students to be submerge in this plays ability to use words to manipulate
emotions and put themselves in the character s positions of authenticity and
vulnerably. Lambert also stated, Cognitive Emotional Pedagogy is an exciting and
fertile approach to teaching, but the reason it has not affected higher levels of
education, including university and graduate level training, is probably because it
asks teachers to integrate their own emotional experience with that of the students,
which can result in the discomfort of confession and self exposure. Too often a
student s preconceived emotional state, like anger or depression, is brought to bear
in class discussions rather than their a priori emotional response to a text within the
class (28). I found this quote interesting because it is true, Shakespeare does bring up
emotional text that most people want to avoid because it makes us uncomfortable.
Too often we avoid talking about the hard to deal with

setting unfolds an important aspect of the story by positioning a where and when.
Throughout the story, June May struggles with her internal conflict of resisting her
Chinese culture. However, she begins to release this resistance as she ventures

the significance of the color gray amongst colors, and June May s transition into a

Including her temporary environments, the transportation that June May uses

Ore-Ida Tater Tot Analysis
What is so Special about Ore Ida Tater Tots? There are many techniques that
advertisers use in the creation of advertisements in order to catch people s
attention and spark their interest in a certain product. Advertising influences
people using pictures, humor, and the psychological need for food. However,
these are not always successful tactics for initiating interest in purchasing an item.
An advertisement promoting Ore Ida tater tots is one example of a company who
incorporated those various techniques, but in my opinion was not very successful.
A young girl with a skeptical look on her face is pictured sitting at a table, holding
up a white piece of paper with one hand. There are horizontal lines drawn on the

you must see the picture of the tater tots in the suspect line up. In Fowles article, he
discusses the effect that images have on viewers of advertisements. He states, Some
few ads have their emotional appeal in the text, but for the greater number by far the
appeal is contained in the artwork. This makes sense, since visual communication
better suits more primal levels of the brain (Fowles 75). Even without reading the

makes it easier for pedophile to track them down, as their towns and names would be

little girls under risk, many psychologist still believe that pageants teach girls to be

The Death of Socrates
The Death of Socrates
The Death of Socrates was painted by a French painter . His name was Jacques
Louis David. The painting represents the scene of the death of Greek philosopher
Socrates. He was condemned to die by drinking hemlock for the expression of his
ideas against those of Athens and corrupting the minds of the youth. The painting
also depicts both Plato and Crito, with the former sitting at the edge of the bed and
the latter clutching the knee of Socrates. Socrates had the choice to go into exile and

Food Allergies For Halloween
How to Help Children With Food Allergies Safely Enjoy Halloween
If you ask a child what their favorite holiday is, you might be surprised to hear them
say Halloween! Between the costumes, candy, parties, and thrill of the scare,
Halloween has become a fast favorite over the decades. Coinciding with its rise in
popularity, however, is a rise in dangerous food allergies that put trick or treaters at a
serious health risk.
What Are Food Allergies?
The body is an incredible feat of biological design, but sometimes, it mistakenly
attacks itself (autoimmune) or overreacts to certain substances (allergies), which can
lead to potentially life threatening symptoms. For people who suffer from food
allergies, their body s immune system mistakenly identifies harmless food proteins as
dangerous and abnormally reacts in efforts to destroy them.
According to FARE (Food AllergyResearch and Education), a food allergy reaction
sends someone to the ER roughly every 3 minutes.
Food allergy symptoms can vary from mild digestive problems to nausea, hives, skin
rash, vomiting, flatulence, itching, cramping, swollen lips, and even swollen
airways. Severe anaphylaxis and a drop in blood pressure can lead to loss of
consciousness and death if not immediately treated.
The most common food allergens include:

Genre Theory and John Ford s Stagecoach Essay
Genre Theory and John Ford s Stagecoach
The analytic theory posited by Robert Warshow in his essay The Westerner , itemizes
the elements necessary for a film to belong to the genre of the western . Most
contentiously, he mandates that the narrative focus upon the individual hero s plight
to assert his identity, and diminishes the importance of secondary characters and
issues, or any tendency toward social drama. (431) He states that it is subtle variations
that make successive instances of a genre film interesting, yet limits this variety to
minor variations in the characteristics of the actors who play the hero s role. (430)
It is my belief that while exhibiting many of the traits itemized by Warshow, John

Other elements expected by the western viewer include the importance of the vast
landscape in relation to the men upon it; the figures of the morally ambiguous
marshall, the cultured Eastern lady, the understanding yet fallen prostitute and the
bad guy ; and the conflict between nature and civilization, usually represented by
Apaches and white settlers respectively. Lastly, the most general and material
characteristic of a western is its setting on the American western frontier in the late
1900 s. Each of these motives is evident in Ford s Stagecoach ; however, there are
several conventions of the western which the director intentionally manipulates,
which exceed altering the traits of the actor who plays the lead role.
The first convention varied by Ford is the hero s expected relationships with two
different types of women. The generic first lady is the refined Eastern schoolmarm
character. She represents the paradigm of civilized virtue, and as such fails to
understand the cowboy s need for revenge, to do what he has to do. (457) In contrast,
we usually encounter the highly sexualized saloon girl or prostitute, whose shares
with the hero marginalization by the fledgling civilization of the frontier. This second
woman understands the cowboy s code in a way that the cultured woman cannot. In
the conventional western , the hero often ends up with the lady , but his choice is
excused by the convenient accidental death of the saloon girl, usually due

Cholelithiasis: Stones in the Gallbladder The presence of gallstones in the
gallbladder, clinically known as Cholelithiasis, is a very common medical condition
affecting most of the world s population. It is mostly prevalent in the western
countries. In the U.S. alone, gallstones are present in 8 20% of the population by the
age of 40 (University of Connecticut Medical Center, n.d.). Stones can come in varies
sizes and two main types. This condition can present itself with absolutely no

For those that are symptomatic or become symptomatic treatment varies on
severity and where the stone is located. The most common treatment is
cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Patients that will benefit
from this procedure the most are those with large ( 2 cm) gallstones, those who
have a nonfunctional or calcified (porcelain) gallbladder on imaging studies and
who are at high risk of gallbladder carcinoma, those with spinal cord injuries or
sensory neuropathies affecting the abdomen, and those with sickle cell anemia in
whom the distinction between painful crisis and cholecystitis may be difficult
(Heuman, 2015). This procedure may be done open or laparoscopic. Open
cholecystectomy involves the surgeon creating a large opening in the abdomen
and using direct exploration to remove the gallbladder. This technique is not
common today and laparoscopic is more favorable. During a laparoscopic
cholecystectomy procedure, surgeons will make multiple small abdominal
incisions and insert a video endoscopy and other instruments to remove the
gallbladder by sections. This technique is less invasive and results in less
postoperative discomfort and improved cosmetic results. For those patients who
decline surgery or are at high risk for surgery, gallbladder stones may be dissolved.
This treatment may take up to two years or longer for complete dissolution and the
stones may return. The best applicants for this treatment are those with small
stones made of cholesterol. Ursodeoxycholic acid 4 to 5 mg/kg po bid or 3 mg/kg
po tid (8 to 10 mg/kg/day) dissolves 80% of tiny stones 0.5cm in diameter within 6

Harriet Tubman, Mother Jones, And Melba Pattillo Beals
How can a person make a big difference in human rights? Well, Harriet Tubman,
Mother Jones, and Melba Pattillo Beals are all examples of people who fought and
made a big impact for all human rights. While Harriet Tubman and Melba Pattillo
Beals stood up for African American Rights, Mother Jones fought for child labor
laws, and all these individuals were determined to take action for their cause. These
special people helped to enact change by standing up for rights they believe in, and
fighting for equality due to racial discrimination or child labor. Harriet Tubman is

everyone to stand up for a cause that may be important to anyone. It is essential to

because of your skin color. Everyone should be free and have equal rights. It is also
important to stand up for what you believe in, even if it means going against the

However there are various treatments (both conventional to mainstream medicine, and
alternate treatments) for RA. The most important thing is to begin treatment early,
before the joints undergo permanent damage. The most important and successful
treatment is that of starting treatment with DMARDs (disease modifying ant
rheumatic drugs) that not only relieve the symptoms of RA, but also slow down
the progression of the disease itself. Anti inflammatory drugs have also proven to be
successful in managing symptoms of RA. (Eric Ruderman, 2013).. Physical and
occupational therapy as well as low impact exercise also have beneficial effects on
the symptoms of RA due to them strengthening the joint and improving mobility. For
severe RA that cannot be helped by other treatments, surgery has proven to be
beneficial as well. There are also a number of alternative treatments for RA.
According to The Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Network (RASN), Organic turmeric

the fact that it is a natural antioxidant and anti inflammatory agent that also has bone

A Clash Of King Martin Analysis
All fiction has to have a certain amount of truth in it to be powerful. This is a quote
from leading fantasy writer and bestselling author, George R.R. Martin. In his
novel, A Clash of Kings, Martin depicts a dark and grimy setting in which war is a
constant theme, a setting very much similar to that of Lord of the Rings and
Beowulf. A Clash of Kings is only the second of thirteen novels in Martin s book

It is proposed that children and teens should be advised about sex, relationships, and identity at an earlier age to reduce the impact made from enforcing these gender stereotypes. Based on the research and study, efforts should be made to reduce the negative effects of gender roles on society. For a time, the water diversion efforts worked to serve the communities around it appropriately. However, as the withdrawal of water has exceeded the supply and as climate change has contributed to decreasing water supply , there are serious threats to the future of available water in the western United States. One proposed solution involves diverting water from the Great Lakes in Michigan to the southwest. At present, Pennsylvania does not face the water shortages that warrant water relocation, however, if surface and groundwater withdrawals increase it could push Pennsylvania closer to considering installing more hydrological alterations and exacerbate the problems that currently face the nation as a whole. There is a clear demand for water in locations that do not naturally have an adequate supply. Water diversion projects serve their purpose in providing water for individual consumers as well as for irrigation and industry. However, as illustrated in this paper, there are severe consequences that arise when disrupting the natural flow of water the ecosystem around it. To mitigate some of the consequences national geographic has suggested restricting the construction of dams, providing incentives for farming business to reduce the use of pesticides, establishing protected wetlands areas, and regulating water withdrawal for human use (Freshwater Threats, 2016). It is important that the solutions to reduce the negative effects of hydrological alterations are aimed at various areas. Efforts should be aimed at reducing the demand for water by increasing efficiency in industry and irrigation as well as increasing the efficiency of water delivery. Efforts should be aimed at the careful planning, engineering, and construction of the hydrological alterations with special attention

Thus far, the plot of my life is much like one of those seen in a 5th grade english class. There is an exposition, rising action, climax, and the very beginning of a falling action. Although I am sure my life will be filled with many of these peak shaped plot maps of ups and downs, currently the mountain I am on has been a steep climb with lots of testing moments along the way. In the end, Silver developed a soul and returned Jane s love, thereby indicating that Silver is now truly alive. He is a real human as he now has a soul. This is similar to the time when Galatea comes to life, as she was then a real human. One significant difference between the myth and the novel is that Pygmalion in the novel is a girl instead of the novel, while Galatea is a male robot. Also, the male dominant idea in the myth disappeared. Instead, the author mainly concentrates on creating equal status between Jane and the robot. However, both texts valued love and romance above all things. While other values such as family relationships are less important. Language appearance is also an important idea in the novel. Silver s appearance, is far above all man. For example as Jane s friend Egyptia said: Beauty, acrobatics, tenderness, humor, prowess. It s ruined me for a man for weeks. Jane fell in love with him because of his beauty and perfection. Therefore, appearance plays a key role in the novel as well as the Pygmalion Myth. Techniques The story is told in first person. This helps the reader to gain a better understanding of the inner feeling of the persona. This is very effective in terms of a love story. From the use of first person, Jane s love for Silver

We would like for every company to grow steady and healthy so it can help with employees to work successfully on their jobs. I develop ways that offers direction and guidance to businesses that are in the process of establishing a Training and Development Department. The first thing we need to do is to identify goals. We need to come up with goals that will make a positive impact on each company. We need to plan what is very important for the company. This will help with establishing a skillful culture for the employees. We need to ask questions like: 1.What is the vision and mission of the company? 2.What types of training and development will best attracts, retains, and develops the talent needed for success? Knowing the company s goals, it will dictate what type of training and development department we should have. Also, we need to assess our training needs. Identify skills we need now and skills we will need in the future. These skills must drive our decision making regarding how we will structure our training department. (Johnston, 2015) The second thing we need to is to acquire training resources. We need to look at what type of tools to use for our training and development department. As Christiano discusses, xenophobia and anti Catholicism became tangled as Irish Catholics immigrated to the U.S. in the nineteenth century. As the Irish became the majority of the Catholic population, they had to contend with other ethnic Catholics, as well as contend with the dominant Protestantism (Christiano 162 63). While nativist hostility to Catholic immigrants continued, Irish immigrants turned in toward themselves, rejecting the Protestant Americanism of public schools and creating parochial schools instead to preserve their religion and culture (Christiano 164). While some see that industrial farming has its benefits such as less man power with technology, large scale production, and lower prices, (Fredrick, Advantages of Industrial Agriculture) the industrial food institutions have also had bad effects. These effects concern agriculture, the environment, human health, and animals. Industrial farming can lead to environmental degradation, air and water contamination, loss of biodiversity, loss of marine life, and even poor treatment of animals kept inside these industrial farms (Horrigan, How sustainable Agriculturecan Address the Environmental...). Because industrial farming is tied to these bad effects more sustainable approaches can be made to lessen the severity of this occurring issue. Industrial farming has had effects on our environment in many ways. Due to large scale farms having to hold many animals, even millions, this comes with the responsibility of dealing with animal waste. A lot of this waste is either put into fields for nourishment or is released throughout the air and even dumped into lakes or oceans. This causes the water to then become unclean and useless. Making clean, drinkable water for families and other animals even harder to access. Woodlands are also cut down in order to produce human consumables that are then fed to more human consumables. The Scottish Stereotypes Of Henry Playland And Henry Playland In order to increase their marketability, publishers would play on the Scottish stereotypes which included tartanry, bagpipes and the idea of Scots being brutes. This stereotype has been argued to have come from how the English view highlanders. Matthew Gelbart argues that The Gaelic speaking Scots seemed to outsiders a Sectarian and ungovernable group, still ruled by feudal and barbaric clan allegiances, and both impenetrable both linguistically and geographically. (Gelbart, 2007, p. 29) This arguably caused the people of Scotlandto become spectacles to outsiders. In attempt to increase their profits, publishers of eighteenth century Scotland channelled these stereotypes into what they could sell off as Scottish music to outsiders. Henry Playford is a prime example of this. Playford published his Collection of Original Scots tunes (Full of Highland Humours) for the Violin: Being the First of this Kind yet Printed in 1700. The use of Highland in the title would have arguably been an attempt from Playford to make this collection appealing to the English market as it has been argued that the tunes in this collection did not originate in the Highlands at all. (Gelbart, 2007) From this, it is evident that Scottish music of the eighteenth century was a reflection of Scottish stereotypes which were perpetuated by publishers for their own gain. It could be argued that these stereotypes have not been confined to the eighteenth century and have been used by more modern

Nurses often see patients at the hospital, but their view about patients health is narrow because they do not have an opportunity to assess patients from a multidimensional perspective. Although health is an individual criterion, people living in the same community tend to be healthier or unhealthier when compared to other cities. For example, population from Orange County is considered healthier than population from Riverside County. By knowing patient s neighborhood, the nurse can conclude possible community diagnosis and provide resources pertinent to patients specific location. For instance, if a patient is a resident of Lake Elsinore and expresses inability to afford a car, the nurse will not provide education about bus passes because there is no public transportation available in the city. • 27. Social Engineering Attacks On Critical Infrastructures Social Engineering Attacks on critical infrastructures do not always target the vulnerabilities in the systems themselves. One of the weakest links in security is the human factor. Social engineering targets this, and it has worked very effectively for them. According to Raj Samani and Charles McFarland, social engineering is the deliberate application of deceitful techniques designed to manipulate someone into divulging information or performing actions that may result in the release of that information (Samani and McFarland 6). Social engineering attacks are divided into two categories: hunting and farming. In hunting, the attacker wants to extract information from the target with little interaction. An example of the four phases in a phishing attack would be gathering information about the target in phase one, sending an email to the target that states the purpose in phase two, asking the target to provide credentials as a recommendation or a required action in phase three, and ending the interaction once the credentials are provided in phase four. To defend against social engineering, it is important for organizations to have an active awareness training program. There are a number of actions that organizations can take to mitigate risks from social engineering attacks. On the human side, staff should be aware of social engineering threats and what their roles and responsibilities are when facing such attacks. Social engineers understand that people would prefer not to confront somebody in most situations, and they take advantage of this weakness. Employees should be encouraged to challenge individuals who are not following organizations policies, like not wearing employee identification badge for example. Also, companies should have a strong password policy and employees should be aware that they should not write the password down. Employees need to understand not to leave confidential documents in plain sight and shred the documents when they want to discard them. More importantly, organizations should try not to blame employees when social engineering attacks happen as the employees are the victims of

When she rose to fame, Joan was often called the Maid of Lorraine, showing that she was the peasant girl from Lorraine. Born in 1412, Jeanne d Arc, more commonly known as Joan of Arc, was raised in the small village of DomrГ©my, located in Lorraine, France. Her parents, Jacques d Arc and Isabelle RomГ©e, were mere peasants that also helped raise her 4 siblings, Jean d Arc, Pierre d Arc, Catherine d Arc, and Jacquemin d Arc. As a child, Joan often had to deal with wars, financial struggles, a corrupt government, and the slaying of innocent people, often for no reason. This was because of the simultaneous deaths of the kings of France, King Henry V, and England, King Charles VI. With them dead, the only heirs to the throne were Charles, who may not have been Charles VI s biological son, and Henry, who was Catherine (Charles VI s daughter) and Henry V s son. There was a dispute between the two countries as to who would rule the other, as Henry was only an infant and Charles might not have really been an heir. As a result, the Hundred Years War was fought between the two countries. As Henry grew older, the war raged on. He was eventually crowned king, but didn t use any of his power to try to win the Hundred Years War; this gives Henry the title of a Dauphin, someone who has the power to rule but hasn t taken the initiative; like

In the article, The Pedagogy of Emotional Response: Feeling Shakespeare s The Winter s Tale by James Lambert, he refers to the Cognitive Emotional Pedagogy which is a a relatively recent theory that maintains that the brain s cognitive functions are activated by a person s emotional memory and state (28). As in, the best way to interpret this play is for the readers to develop a sense of feeling to the play in order to analyzing and learn from it. I believe Shakespeare is able to do that by demonstrating the influence words have over the characters thus creating the emotional reactions inside the play that the audience can relate too. For example, many people can relate to Hermione where they have tried to convince someone something isn t true but no matter what they say, it will never change. As a teacher, I want my students to be submerge in this plays ability to use words to manipulate emotions and put themselves in the character s positions of authenticity and vulnerably. Lambert also stated, Cognitive Emotional Pedagogy is an exciting and fertile approach to teaching, but the reason it has not affected higher levels of education, including university and graduate level training, is probably because it asks teachers to integrate their own emotional experience with that of the students, which can result in the discomfort of confession and self exposure. Too often a student s preconceived emotional state, like anger or depression, is brought to bear in class discussions rather than their a priori emotional response to a text within the class (28). I found this quote interesting because it is true, Shakespeare does bring up emotional text that most people want to avoid because it makes us uncomfortable. Too often we avoid talking about the hard to deal with

Lastly, the most general and material characteristic of a western is its setting on the American western frontier in the late 1900 s. Each of these motives is evident in Ford s Stagecoach ; however, there are several conventions of the western which the director intentionally manipulates, which exceed altering the traits of the actor who plays the lead role. For those that are symptomatic or become symptomatic treatment varies on severity and where the stone is located. The most common treatment is cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. Patients that will benefit from this procedure the most are those with large ( 2 cm) gallstones, those who have a nonfunctional or calcified (porcelain) gallbladder on imaging studies and who are at high risk of gallbladder carcinoma, those with spinal cord injuries or sensory neuropathies affecting the abdomen, and those with sickle cell anemia in whom the distinction between painful crisis and cholecystitis may be difficult (Heuman, 2015). This procedure may be done open or laparoscopic. Open cholecystectomy involves the surgeon creating a large opening in the abdomen and using direct exploration to remove the gallbladder. This technique is not common today and laparoscopic is more favorable. During a laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedure, surgeons will make multiple small abdominal incisions and insert a video endoscopy and other instruments to remove the gallbladder by sections. This technique is less invasive and results in less postoperative discomfort and improved cosmetic results. For those patients who decline surgery or are at high risk for surgery, gallbladder stones may be dissolved. This treatment may take up to two years or longer for complete dissolution and the stones may return. The best applicants for this treatment are those with small stones made of cholesterol.
