In the University Of Arizona Museum Of Art, the Pfeiffer Gallery is displaying many art pieces of oil
on canvas paintings. These paintings are mostly portraits of people, both famous and not. They are
painted by a variety of artists of European decent and American decent between the mid 1700 s and
the early 1900 s. The painting by Elizabeth Louise Vigee Lebrun caught my eye and drew me in to
look closely at its composition.

The little girl s dress gives the texture of lightness and seems like airy fabric that would be thin and
translucent. The time in this piece is very accurate of the late 1700 s and when viewing it, the time
seems classic. The emphasis of this piece is mainly the mother and the daughter, however when
looking at them you are drawn into looking at their realistic eyes. The eyes seem like the focal point
which draws the viewer in to the picture.
The relationship in the painting between the mother and daughter give it a definite asymmetrical
balance and maybe a little radial balance. A radial balance because of their eyes being the central
focus, then the faces, then the holding of each other, then where they are placed on the canvas, and
then the bench and the landscape. The colors used by the painter, also creates balance with in the
picture. The wine colored dress of the mother, red sash of the daughter s dress, ruby lips, and the rosy
cheeks give a warm feeling to the central focus of the mother and daughter. The cool color of the sky
is the same as the women s eyes as well as the trees and green on the mother s dress. These balances
give unity or a unifying feeling to the painting, especially between the mother and daughter.

In the center of White Point Garden at the Charleston Battery, beholds a statue thats beautiful art
conveys a very powerful message to the public that cannot be ignored. The Confederate Defenders of
Charleston monument very clearly conveys a sense of power, but with more analyzation, a deeper
meaning is found through description, visuals, and appeals. Created by Herman A. MacNeil, the
statue, standing at thirteen feet tall, is a bronze statue that features a male warrior with a sword and a

This empowering quote was an analogy to World War I memorials, and it made it clear that the fight
for personal liberties was substantial during the time. Visually, The statue stands in the middle of
White Point Garden, surrounded by trees and overlooking the harbor, with the light from the ocean

The Importance Of Being A Hero
The most important and impactful part of being a hero is essentially doing heroic things. A heroic
action, in this case, would be qualified as an act that benefits others more than yourself and is
characterized as having a generally upstanding moral motive. In this respect, Dr. Manhattan would be
the most successful hero because not only does he end a war, but he is also the reason that nuclear war
was postponed for so long (Moore, Gibbons 130). Just having a godlike hero present that could stop
nuclear conflict at any time was enough to keep countries from annihilating all humans. From this
logic, Dr. Manhattan saved the most lives for the longest period of time therefore doing the most good.
This outweighs his lack of empathy and compassion. Regardless of how he feels about people, he still

With possibly the last changes to the tax law through President Obama s term, Congress agrees on
making many of the Tax Extenders permanent. These so called Tax Extenders are tax provisions that
Congress has passed over the past few years with short term expiration dates, at which point the
provision would lapse. Typically, after the provision lapsed, Congress would retroactively reinstate the
provisions, thus extending its life through the current tax year. This has led to some tax planners
relying on the hopes that Congress will reinstate these provisions, without the explicit knowledge that
they would do so. Therefore, the now permanent provisions (those that have been extended without a
set expiration date) are able to give tax planning professionals more certainty in their projections. The

To recover from the storm, I select The Banjo by Louis Gottschalk as my next piece. In contrast to the
fierce thunderstorm in Moonlight s third movement, Banjo is full of cheerful and light hearted
melodies. As if a sunshower, the music refreshes our mind and energizes our spirit.
Staccato, one of the most remarkable characteristics in this piece, brings energy to the entire music. In
the subject line of the A section (this piece has a five part A B A B A form), the melody of the left hand
purely consists of staccatos whose short, bouncing feature opens up a dynamic theme., This dynamic
is further expressed as the piece enters B section, since the high pitched notes have more
distinguishable sounds and a more rapid speed. This movement then culminates at five major chords
whose high pitch and strong, sharp volume produce an extraordinarily penetrating sound. All these
movements delineates a playful scene of rain dancing at every corner of the world: on a roof, a stream,

Social engineering is a method of hacking in which attackers utilize personal or not so personal
information to impersonate the rightful owner of an account. They call up the company in question
and engineer a reset of the account permissions that allow them to take over. The idea is to trick a

security.
Phishing is a criminal activity using different variations of social engineering techniques. Phishers

Life Has Changed My Life
Every 30 years (with some exceptions) lives are dramatically changed as the result of a beautiful
phenomenon. On August 21, 2017, at 1:17 PM, I would be one of those lucky ones whose lives are
transformed. It would be a monumental experience that would shake my life and thousands of others
for as long as they lived. My sister, my Father and I would drive all the way from Washington, DC to
Charleston, South Carolina. Sitting on the tan, leather seats of our black Toyota land cruiser, it was the
kind of day when your legs would stick to the seats from the summer heat, but it was also the day we
would begin our trek. We would leave the comfort of our home to view the Great American Eclipse

democrats, the only exception being in the subject of the death penalty. If this is the case then why do
African Americans vote majority democratic one may ask. Well, the history of republicanism has
