The Effect Of Weight Lifting And Its Effects On Basketball...
Weight Lifting and Its Effects on Basketball Players
Ten people gather around a center point waiting as two giants square off between one another,
clashing for the most valuable prize of the battle ahead: the basketball. A game of strategy and high
demands, basketball calls on both the body and the mind in harmony in order to secure a victory. It
calls on your body in many ways that will strip you of energy unlike any other sport. Additionally,
the game will demand a high intelligence and acumen from the mind when making split second
decisions. Lifting weights can positively impact your body, physically and mentally; furthermore,
this training can then be applied onto the basketball court to help increase the physical and mental
attributes of a player. Being well equipped physically for basketball provides many advantages
when you apply it correctly. Basketball is a unique sport that contains non stop movement in
every moment. The objective is simple: score more points than the other team. This is
accomplished by a constant burst of speed, agility, and quickness that combines for fluid
motions up and down the court. If a player is not trained properly, this consistent activity can be
extremely strenuous to their body. Plus, in a game of basketball the gameplay is live until the
ball goes out of bounds, there is a foul, timeout called, or the end of a quarter. While this may
seem like quite a few factors to allow a dead ball and some rest time, they do not occur as much

Three Examples Of Saturated Fats
Lactose intolerance and Fats
What are saturated fat; three examples of saturated fats
These are fat that is made up of atoms that are very dense and the hydrogen atoms fully join with
carbon atoms with no double bonds. This makes the carbon atoms in the fat s molecular structure to
be fully saturated with hydrogen atoms. Three examples of saturated fats are; 1) Butyric acid milk
(especially buffalo, goat, and sheep), butter, Parmesan cheese. 2)Lauric acid coconut oil, palm
kernel oil, laurel oil. 3) Myristic acid nutmeg, coconut oil, palm kernel oil and butterfat.
(Wikipedia,2015)
What are unsaturated fats; three examples of saturated fats:
Unsaturated fat is a fatty acid that has one or more double bonds. These double bonds eliminates
hydrogen atom from the molecular fatty acid chain. This makes unsaturated fats unsaturated with
hydrogen atoms. Three examples of unsaturated fats includes: walnuts, olive oil and cashew nuts.

Trans fat are more commonly man made from vegetable oil. The vegetable oil are heated or
hydrogenated to create the trans fat. Three examples of foods that use trans fat are margarine,
biscuit and frozen pizza. (Wikipedia,2015)
Why might food producers add hydrogen atoms to a vegetable oil
They would do this because vegetable oils are unsaturated with hydrogen atoms; by adding
hydrogen atoms to the vegetable oil; it will make the liquid vegetable oils into solid or semi
solid fats. This will make the vegetable oil fat more dense and thus make it more desirable for use
in baking. The dense properties are more desirable for use in baking because of the more wanted
texture vs the texture that would be made with the natural unsaturated vegetable oils. (wikipedia,
2015)
Is there a downside to the hydrogenation

Nicole Brown Simpson Case
Introduction
On June 12, 1994, in the affluent community of Brentwood located in Los Angeles, California, a
crime would take place that would captivate the minds of the American people, along with media
outlets across the nation. A little after midnight on a cool spring day, a neighbor was out walking
when he noticed a dog with bloody paws. After following the dog, the man came upon a horrific
scene outside the home of Nicole Brown Simpsons on Bundy Drive. When police arrived at the
scene they discovered two bodies lying outside the exterior front gate, later to be identified as
Nicole Brown Simpson, the ex wife of the famous football player Orenthal J. Simpson, and that of
a 25 year old waiter, Ronald Goldman.
Upon arrival at the scene, Detective Mark Furman, along with Detective Philip ... Show more

During further inspection of the inside of the home, the detectives discover two young children
believed to be those of Nicole Brown Simpson and O.J Simpson, asleep. The detectives, while
technicians collect evidence and process the crime scene, decide to contact O.J Simpson, leading
them to his Rockingham estate, located not far from the home of Nicole Brown Simpson. Upon
arrival, detectives receive no response at the gate, leading them to look around, particularly at a
white Ford Bronco parked on the curb. Detectives would later note that the vehicle s tires were
parked in such a way that would indicate that the vehicle had been driven recently and parked with
haste. With inspection, detectives noticed a small speckle of blood on the driver s side door above
the handle. Detectives would later state that upon further inspection, they could also see small
smudges of blood inside the vehicle leading them to believe that someone who either injured inside

Shovelbug Research Paper
My beast, also known as the shovelbug, lives in a desert ecosystem with cold nights and
scorching hot days. Due to these weather changes, the invertebrate has adapted to the
environment in a couple of ways, which will be explained later. Even though there is very little
of it, the vegetation that is found there includes low lying grasses/mosses and cacti. These
patches of grass are scattered throughout the desert and there may be a variety of different species
building their habitats in them. Aside from being a home to native species, the patches of grass
may also be hiding predators waiting to strike. Lastly, is the soil in this environment which plays a
big role in the shovelbug s survival. This soil is very hard for most organisms to dig through,
which is what makes this insect unique in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a small invertebrate with multiple adaptations to survive in the desert ecosystem. For
starters, this insect has very strong mandibles which can instantly kill the shovelbug s prey.
However, the way it traps its prey in the first place is the interesting part. Similar to an antlion,
the shovelbug digs a small pit in the sand with its shovel like legs, hence the name shovelbug.
Soon after, an unknowing insect may wander into this pit and become food as a result. Having
said that, this isn t all it does to capture prey. This insect actually creates a web identical to that of
a spider s which ensures that the shovelbug s food won t be escaping. Additionally, my beast has
developed long, oval shaped wings like the ones you would find on dragonflies. This adaptation
makes for a quick escape if the shovelbug comes across a dangerous predator. Another adaptation to
avoid predators is the hard exoskeleton which helps them blend into their environment. This
exoskeleton was originally just camouflaged flesh that would change color depending on the
surroundings. It still serves the same purpose with the additional benefit of a

Accidental Inventions
Accidental discoveries are inventions that were discovered through no intention of discovery.
From the good to the bad these types of inventions have changed our lives forever. These types of
things are both things we use everyday, down to food people eat everyday.
Food is a necessity to live, but what will surprise you is that some of the food people today were
all accidental discoveries. Saccharin is an artificial sweetener people use to sweeten their food.
This was discovered in 1879 when Constantin Fahlberg was trying to find alternative use for coal
tar and forgot to wash his hands after work. The potato chip was invented by fed up chef George
Crum who to teach an annoy customer a lesson sliced the potatoes thin, fried them and put salt on
them, which to his surprise the customer liked. When Coca Cola was discovered by pharmacist
John Pemberton, it was meant to be a medication, however as things would work out it is now a
common soft drink that will work out for any party. In an attempt to make his own soda pop 11
year old Frank Epperson combined powder and water stuck a stick in it and left it on the porch
overnight and found it the next morning still stuck to the stick. With a combination of a
neighboring waffle stall and an ice cream shall the cone was discovered. Will Kellogg accidently
left bread dough out for several hours and discovered it flaky, so he baked it and discovered
Cornflakes.

Nelson Mandela Character Analysis

11 Sep 2017
Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. The first person I think of is Nelson
Mandela. Mandela s ultimate success had to do with his character and background. Although he
was born in a royal family, grew up in a divided region of South Africa between blacks and whites.
He still managed to maintain a correct mindset to a path leading to success. You can come from a
small surrounding and have a bigger triumph than someone who comes from a lot more, or it s the
total opposite. In this case, it s the fact that coming from a wealthy family who supports you will
get you anywhere. Gladwell argues that having a superior background means that it is much easier
to be successful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which brings me to my next point. One s background definitely has an impact on successful
people. If it were a different person with a different background, hence the situation would have
turned out differently. Many people are born already into an easier lifestyle because of the place
their family has already had. Robert Oppenheimer was a smart guy who turned out to be
successful with the support of his family and wealth. Oppenheimer didn t face the lifetime
struggles, Lagan has. But he did suffer from depression and was emotionally unstable, which
made sense as to why, Oppenheimer took some chemicals from the laboratory and tried to
poison his tutor (Gladwell 98). The first instance is that any person is going to go to jail for any
crime he or she did, no matter who they are or what reputation they hold. But for this case,
Oppenheimer was taken out the hot seat and was not punished. I believe he was let out of the
situation way too easily and it was odd for them to do. Gladwell here covers every detail of
Oppenheimer s case, making it to the university and how they handled it, Blackett, luckily, found
out that something was amiss. The university was informed. Oppenheimer was called on the carpet.
And what happened next is every bit as unbelievable as the crime itself. Here is how the incident is
described in American Prometheus, Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin s biography of Oppenheimer:
After protracted negotiations, it was

Various pollutants generated and deposited in the urban regions are washed off to the receiving
waters during storm events, resulting in receiving water quality degradation. The impacts on
receiving water quality degradation include elevated toxicity, algal blooms and excessive
sedimentation.
Thus, use of stormwater pollution mitigation strategies to improve the quality of receiving waters
has become increasingly important. Water sensitive urban design (WSUD) is the stormwater
management philosophy adopted in Australia. The aims of WSUD are to manage stormwater
quality and quantity to minimise the impacts of urban developments on the surrounding
environment (Lloyd et al., 2002). WSUD concepts are developed to provide technically effective,
more economical and less environmentally damaging solutions for stormwater management.
However, there are barriers in widespread implementation of WSUD. In this regard, the long term
viability of implemented WSUD systems are perceived with high level of importance (Lloyd et al.,
2002). The primary concern is that the treatment systems adopted in WSUD approach are typically
designed considering static climate conditions. Changing climate in future scenarios including
changes to rainfall patterns and characteristics of dry periods can reduce the effectiveness of such
WSUD systems (Beecham et al., 2012).
Climate change would have a significant impact on the future functionality of WSUD. Researchers
commonly agree that

Taking a Look at the Human Papillomavirus
The term cancer evokes a great fear in many because there has yet been a cure found for the
disease. Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a pathogen that can cause cancer. HPV is one of the few
cancer causing pathogens that has a vaccination that is already being administered to the general
public. The administering of this vaccinewould prevent millions of people from becoming infected.
Each year about 14 million men and women are infected with the human papillomavirus, though
many could be prevented. HPV is a widely contractible virus that can yield cancerous effects, but
it is largely preventable via proper vaccination. Human papillomavirus is a virus that can cause
warts, or as the name suggests papilloma, along with some types of cancers. Papillomas are
benign tumors that in this case are caused by the human papillomavirus. Human papillomavirus
is a group of over a hundred viruses with at least fifteen that are a high risk for causing cancer.
HPV is usually passed from person to person during sexual intercourse, though it usually is
addressed as a virus that can be passed via skin to skin contact. Human papillomavirus has been
linked to cancers of the reproductive system, along with the head and neck. Cervical canceris
probably the most well known cancer that comes from certain strains of HPV. The strains of HPV
that cause cervical cancer first start off as cervical dysplasia and may develop into cancer, but
doesn t always. Cervical dysplasia is the abnormal change to ones

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Multi Core Processor
Generally the CPU has fetch, decode, and execute operation. Most of today s multi core
processors feature shared caches. In shared caches the caches are splitted into blocks and are
used randomly by each core in a multi core processor. Because of this there is severe delay
experienced by each core and the processing speed is also reduced. This happens due to more
time taken for read operation of memory and CPU. The problem faced by such architectures is
cache contention. So far the time required for fetching is more when compared to the execution
process. The fetching time must be reduced. Hence to address this problem, we have
implemented a program that allows the usage of cache memory for each core of a processor at
same time. In our concept, we execute all jobs of each... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ADVANTAGES OF MULTI CORE PROCESSOR The maximum energy in the processing will
be visualized in developing the time while simulating the CPU processes like scanning of anti
virus, writing, reading, and burning the data. Thinking that the die is set into the package in a
physical manner, then the multiple core processor implementations will need very little space
for PCB than the multiple chip SMP implementation. Also, a two core processor utilizes very
little amount of power than the two strongly bonded single core processor, due to the reduced
power needed to transmit the signals outer material to the chip. XIII. EQUATIONS If we
consider that the fetching and execution process are on various blocks of cache then the
quantity of the process being simulated is 1/n. also if it is said that they are developed on the
similar block of cache memory being executed is k/n, where k is the quantity of fetch and execute
process being performed. P is said to be the full quantity of cores. N is the full quantity of blocks of
cache. The CPU writing time is shown below. CPU write time estimation CPU write time= [CPU

Causes And Effects Of Video Games
1 LastName Name Course Professor 5 December 2017 Video Game Addiction and Its Harmful
Effects Playing video games is a pastime that many children enjoy. It has been found that
National surveys of American youth ages 8 to 18 by the Kaiser Family Foundation ... found that
in 2005, 49% of children had a game console in their bedroom (Olson et al. 55). From this
information, it can be assumed that after school about half of the children come home and start
playing video games. The duration of time that children play these video games varies. In recent
times it is estimated that, ...adolescent girls played video games for an average of 5 h a week
whereas boys averaged 13 h a week. (Gentile et al. 5). Gaming, therefore, has become more than
just a fun activity, it has become an addiction. Addiction can be defined as ... with an
uncontrollable urge, often accompanied by a loss of control, a preoccupation with use, and a
desire to continue with the activity even though it creates problems (Skoric et al. 568). These
children feel the need to play video games, and it is taking over their lives. This addiction to video
games impacts many aspects of a child s life. As a result of this addiction, video games cause
difficulties at school, detrimental impact to relationships and teenage development. There has been
a link between poor school performance and difficulties at school with high usage of video games.
It has been reported that, ...high school students who report spending more time

Mcdonald s A Competitive Advantage
SYNOPSIS
In the United States, the fast food market provides consumers quick meals at a reasonable cost. It
has grown significantly in recent years with an 8.7% average annual growth rate throughout the
1980 s. The concept of the industry, providing healthy alternatives to traditional fast food and being
environmentally sound is the latest example how consumers affect the industry. The companies
must be able to change very quickly in order to meet these customer demands and the changing
environment while still conforming to its strategy. For an example, consider McDonald s
Corporation; it is a company that has been able to remain true to its philosophy and still be able to
adapt to the market situation. The resources and capabilities the company has assembled has
allowed it to be a consistent top performer even in a market that is competitive. This paper discusses
several capabilities and resources that provided McDonald s a competitive advantage: food
innovations, customer satisfaction, regulatory standards, intensive training program, quality
products, franchisee relationships, and supplier relations. By applying the VRIO theory to the
information discovered in the case, it was determined that the resources and capabilities that
McDonald s possessed in the 1990 s allowed it to gain a sustainable competitive advantage which
lead to industry success throughout the years.

The Outsiders Differences Between Book And Movie
The Outsiders
Books and movies have many similarities and differences, this is some similarities and
differences in The Outsiders. The similarities in the books are they all have the same lesson
/theme. In the book and movie the lesson or point is the split between gangs and how they also
have the same problems on both sides of town this makes the story more reliable than not to have
the same theme. In the movie and the book the themes are very apparent in the split between
social groups which makes the story have the same feeling as the book. In the movie in the book
and movie Johnny is abused by his parents. This is important because in the book Johnny is the
shy character which is always in the lot or not at home which forms the character. That is how

Some of the more apparent differences in the book and movie is that in the book Johnny is a very
shy and soft spoken yet on the movie johnny is more talkative. This affects the plot greatly by
saying that Johnny is beaten and is on the verge to kill yet in the movie the feeling of being abused
is not here. This leads me to believe that Johnny doesn t have the strength to kill Bob Sheldon.
Another difference is that in the book is that Johnny in the hospital was on a bed but in the movie
Johnny is is on a high tech bed which is built for his injury. This is important because in the movie
the specialized bed gives the feeling that he is in critical condition which makes the audience more
emotional than the book with Johnny in a common bed which does not give the feeling of a critical
condition. That is some of the many differences in the book and movie of The

The Importance Of Football In The World
By the second half of the Nineteenth Century, the first club and sports federation was established (
football history , 2013). The enthusiasm for football was quickly contagious from Great Britain to
other countries, thanks to the population and urbanization process resulted from the Industrial
Revolution (Spampinato, 2004). There was an urgent need to build a facility could welcome a high
number of spectators and fans (Santo, Mildner, 2010), formed the awareness of sports importance
to individuals and community, to produce a new age of stadia at five sequential steps of progression.

(Spampinato, 2004). Seats had better view angles, stands became roofed, and a higher number of
toilet facilities, and beverage outlets in the stands were provided. That was the start of the concept
of fan zones (Fig.8), especially by 1970 s, when the market saw the appearance of the specialized
and dedicated sports architecture practice (Santo, Mildner, 2010), which produced new image of
fans facilities with amenities (greater revenue, more luxury suites, and higher quality finishes)

common element of that age, the stadia concept was an introverted element in the city, although
their inner facilities were a comfortable inside yet anonymous outside, missing both indoor and

Hezbollah began its existence with leaders, such as al Musawi, al Khalil, and Mughniyah, who
had proven their competence in the crucible of Lebanon s Civil War. With these leaders, they
recruited fighters with an extensive military training background, which proved to be an asset
against the Israeli army. There is said to be tens of thousands of Hezbollah members within their
ranks and could increase up to a hundred thousand or more. Abbas al Musawi was the senior
leader of Hezbollah before the Israeli s killed him in 1992. Hassan Nasarallah became the next
senior leader of Hezbollah, also known as the Secretary General; essentially he makes all the
decisions for any political or paramilitary activities. Nasrallah was a student of al Musawi in a

supporter of the Israel resistance and while in school, he organized a group of Shiite s to assist
in the invasion of Israel. Even though Nasrallah has faced criticism from his own people, he has
won broad grassroots support by cultivating a social welfare network that provided schools,

of the Mayan culture, as the buildings built by the Mayans were often covered with many stone

Unlike the other early civilizations the Mayans also decorated with paint and stucco statues.
The Maya built pyramids, temples, palaces, walls, residences and more. The Maya built a great

objectified person, as opposed to a very real human. Lust can be further practically defined as the
inability to place selfless love on a higher pedestal than selfish desire. Shakespeare explores these
conflicting definitions of lust in his 129th sonnet, condemning his animalistic variations of lust that
coexist with his desire for a genuine state of love. As opposed to following the ... Show more

When juxtaposed with the opening line, an inappropriate form of lust is a waste of the vitality that
a person can give to the world in the form of intellect. In accordance with this natural tendency, the
tone of the first half of the sonnet is most definitely savage (Martin 5), supported by the words
bloody...murderous, which brings about the connotation of a fierce creature of nature with only the
desire to quench the physical thirst. These first lines support the wild tendencies by comparing
Shakespeare s initial action of lust to the first defense (Vendler 551) of an animal, partial to
primitively impulsive behavior. The speaker is trying to erase his guilt when his rationality as a man
should advise a reformation of his reasons for love. Throughout the sonnet, there is a continuous
reference, more technically, a conceit of the hunt that further enhances the image of animals in their
natural setting, uninhibited by society s rules. Some critics have gone so far as to contest that
Shakespeare mocks primitive lust. However, its sole presence is quite pitiful, for the speaker is
unable to grasp a greater level of satisfaction that is everlasting, not ephemeral. The distinction
between selflessness and selfishness is one that separates the human from the savage animal,
although these opposing

William Byrd Influences
If you were asked to name an influential person in history, who would you immediately think of?
Most likely, the person is or was a politician, businessman, writer, etc. You most likely did not
think of a musician. We, as a society, under appreciate the work of great musicians of our time as
well as past times. For example, William Byrd was an extremely influential musician who lived
from 1538 1623. He is responsible for choir pieces consisting of four (or more) voice parts.
Throughout his lifetime, he made many uncertain opportunities. William Byrd beneficially
impacted his society through the risks he took in his music.

William wrote over 120 pieces, including sonnets, madrigals, and other secular works (William).
William is best known for his development of the English madrigal. (Britannica) A madrigal is a
choral piece for two to four people. In his song, Ave Verum Corpus , we can clearly hear this use
of many choral voices. In fact, this effect can be found in a almost all of William s works. He
took large risks by using two, three, four, or even more voices to blend perfect harmonies and
use alternating melodies. The result is beautiful music that would be used, even today, by
countless others. On aspect of his music is the joining of high and low voices. There are areas in
his music where the low voices sing but the high voices do not and vice versa. Then, William
does a splendid job of blending them together, using the differing pitches of the singers to
compliment each others voices. The result is a full sound that is not too muddy and low, yet not
too high and pitchy. His songs were almost always in Latin wording, including the constant use
of the phrase Agnus Dei or Lamb of God . If listening very closely, one might be able to hear this
phrase repeated in many of the works provided by William. Byrd also released a collection of
madrigals that became very popular (William).William also jumped for any opportunity he could
get his hands on; for example, William majorly contributed in the making of the English

I decided to attend a night traffic court session at the Ventura Courthouse. The cases ranged from
seat belt violations to reckless driving. Most of the defendants appeared before the court to
request more time to pay the fines associated with the tickets. I was surprised to see that very
few of the people in the courthouse were pleading not guilty. Only one person showed up to
defend a case with legal help from an attorney of some sort. The first person to claim not guilty
was charged with speeding. I tried to get as many of the details of the case as possible. The facts of

were as follows: While exiting the 5 freeway, the defendant claims to have made a brief stop at a
stop sign at the intersection at the end of the off ramp. After the stop, she proceeded to turn right
through the intersection. Shortly thereafter, she was stopped by a officer and was charged with
violating CVC 22450(a) Failure to stop for stop sign. The defendant stated that she told the
officer that she had stopped at the limit line as required. The officer agreed and said: You

in this statement that he wanted her to stop for a longer period of time than she actually had. The
defendant read from the California Vehicle Code, the required length of time for a stop is defined
in CVC 587 as Stop or stopping... shall mean any cessation of movement of a vehicle. The
defendant then stated that she believed that any cessation of movement would include the stop she
made. She then stressed that the officer, by his statements, seemed to believe that a set time period
for a stop is required though no such set time length is actually provided for in the law. The
defendant also offered that since many drivers do not stop at all at an uncontested stop, the officer

Volunteer Service In American Society
In American society, helping those that are less fortunate has always served as one of our core
values. Benjamin Franklin is credited as the first volunteer when he founded a volunteer firefighting

bandages, wrappings, and many other cloth items. Often times, the volunteerwillingly makes

What motivates the volunteer to sacrifice their own time in the service of others? In this paper, I

The Importance Of Functional Family Unit
The amount of functional family units has been decreasing for the last century and it is negatively
affecting humanity. In 1960 the percent of children living with two parents was seventy three
percent; in 2013 the percent decreased to forty six. The family unit is the basic social unit of
society. The familyunit helps each member learn about and get used to social roles. Each member
holds a specific function or social role in the family. In a healthy family all members fulfill their
functions and emotional expression is accepted. Also, most healthy families practice a religion. If
the family members fail to fulfill their functions the family unit disintegrates. Dysfunctional
families are often caused by a parent not fulfilling their function or being abusive. A parent might
not function enough and not care enough for the children. The parent might also function too much
and not give room for children to grow. In a functional family unit, the parents give space for their
children to grow, but also have a set of established rules. Establishing a functional family unit is
important because they form the basic unit of society, the functionality of the family affects the
mental functionality of the children, it greatly affects the children s future, and it affects society as
a whole.
Although some might argue that the functionality of the family does not severely impact a child s
mental health, studies have shown otherwise. Two large meta analyses, one reported

The video London Underground Dinner Party displays many different aspects of culture within
the London commuter community. The video shows a group of young people setting up a table
and sitting down to eat food together in the middle of the train. Interestingly, there are different
microcultures present on this one train cart made up of ten to thirty people at a time. Those
involved, receive very different and varying interactions with the others present on the train.
These responses and interactions represent the differences in cultures throughout this small train
car. Specifically, in the forms of knowledge, behavior and the cultural artifacts found throughout
the video. This video is only a few minutes in length, but is able to show so much if you look
closely and pause the video from time to time. In the forms of cultural knowledge the boy had

hands to greet them and welcomed them to the table. After many of the people arrived, they
began talking and engaging in eye contact which is another form of cultural knowledge specific
to theirs. Passing food from one person to another and then to those positioned away from the

Human Consciousness Essay
Human Consciousness
Erich Fromm and Shirley Jackson have both written wonderful true life affecting essays and
should be awarded for them. I appreciate both stories and feel they both set tales to learn from
and live by. As a combined theme for both I ld say human consciousness is more then a gift . And
read on to see what I mean.
In Erich Fromm we notice a compassionate concern for the unfolding of life. Fromm claims that
the growing process of the emergence of the individual from his original ties, a process which we
may call individuation, seems to have reached its peak in modern history in the centuries between
the Reformation and the present. Of course, the beginning of change is not the cause of all our
problems but it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Being set in your own way doesn t necessary have to be bad? Just imagine, if the tradition was
something more positive that promote life rather than destroy it. Traditions, rituals are made from
rules established. The rules could be rules of a home, a city, county, state or nation. Then again
imagination can do wonders and living life is just part of nature. And that s where Fromm brings
our attention to living life . He states that although the animals are living within nature, they at the
same time going above it and are conscious of themselves. Which I think is very true. Setting
themselves over against nature they have lost their unity and feel unbearably alone, lost, and
powerless. This same process can be seen in the development of individual human beings. Each of
us initially feels at one with our environment, but then becomes gradually more aware of our
individuality. Fromm determines, therefore, that on the one side of the growing process of
individuation is the growth of self strength, but on the other side of this process is a growing
aloneness.
Then again with Jackson s story one has to gaze from a distance. At first glance, one would think
by reading The Lottery, that it was to tell of someone s great chance of fortune. After all it begins
with the setting of a beautiful day. The

There were numerous acts protecting the rights of men but almost none for women. Women were
deprived, neglected and usually considered to be the husband s property . Moreover, when
women s rights were violated there wee no institutions they could turn to for help. Men could get

to husbands leaving wives poor and deprived of everything. During the Victorian period some acts

In the title story Drown, by Junot Diaz, and Drinking Coffee Elsewhere, by ZZ Packer, the authors
explore the complex interactions of gender, ethnicity, friendship and sexual identity. In Drown the
narrator is young Dominican American man, growing up in urban New Jersey, struggling to claim

The Effect Of A Clock Reaction On The Reaction Rate Of A...
A clock reaction is a form of chemical reaction where multiple reagents are placed together with
no apparent change after a time lag until a dramatic colour change appears called the induction
period (King, Preece and Billingham, 1999). This abrupt colour change can be due to the limiting
reagent being fully consumed which allows the remaining chemicals to react resulting in a colour
change. Specific kinetic and stoichiometric conditions are required for this standard clock
behaviour to occur. Clock reactions can be highly useful to investigate rates of reaction as the rate
of the colour change may differ due to varying factors.
The reaction rate of a chemical reaction can be defined as the speed in which the reaction occurs.

Figure 1: Effect of order on the reactant (UCDAVIS 2, 2017)
Typically, the order of a reactant does not go beyond a second order. The greater the order is, the
greater the increase in reaction rate when the reactant is doubled. The sum of the order of reactants
for the experiment is then the order of the overall reaction (UCDAVIS 2, 2017).
The two methods to determine the rate law of a kinetics experiment is by initial rates and by
integrated rate law. To utilise the initial rates method, multiple experiments can be conducted with
differing concentrations and measuring the initial rate for the reactions (Yamauchi, Nord and
Schullery, 2016). From this, the reaction order for the corresponding substance can be calculated
and the rate constant can be found. However, the method of initial rates requires the chemical
reaction to be fairly slow and since several experiments need to be executed, it is not an ideal
method.
The integrated rate law method utilises integrated rate laws in comparison with the collected data
relating concentration and time during a kinetics experiment (SparkNotes, 2017). This method
finds the order of the reactant by plotting the time versus a function of the concentration data and
using trial and error with a selected rate law. If the integrated rate law is correct, the data points
will appear linear and if it is not linear then

Hurston in 1937. In the novel Janie Crawford plays the main character and has a very
subservient mind, but as the novel progresses, so does her attitude and views on self worth and

women are oppressed to the authority of men during the 1930 s. Janie s childhood was shaped by
her nanny, but as she grows to be a young woman she begins to realize that she craves
independence and self worth. Janie says Why must Joe be so mad with her for making him look

Janie is beginning to question why it is acceptable for a man to disrespect a woman in society,

India s Opinion On Indian Theatre
The aim of this essay is to explore how Indian theatre has developed within Britain, society s
opinion on Indian performers in theatre and how it is now becoming more acceptable and respected
in modern day British theatre. It is very clear that ethnical established ways of thinking have always
been challenged in Indian theatreperformance for several reasons. These consist of the
disadvantages faced by the ethnic groups on the British stage, the use of Indian languages, and how
Indian Theatre is looked upon by audiences Indian and non Indian. Tara Arts Theatre Company will
be used as a case study throughout this essay.
Firstly, in the report from, The Arts Britain Ignores it is highlighted that the historical disadvantages
faced by ethnic minority arts... (were) ... lack of premises to rehearse, lack of comparable back up
that is afforded to equivalent native British groups, lack of acceptance within the arts structure
(Khan, 1976, cited in Hingorani, 2010, p. 4). From this it is apparent hat earlier on even though the
Indian theatre community were producing great plays they still had to work and overcome the
barrier of not having any help, support or encouragement from the mainstream British theatre
industries and arts councils.
These boundaries all lead up to Tara Arts Theatre Company. The birth of Tara Arts was created
when a male Asian youth called Gurdip Singh Chaggar was killed in a racial responsive attack.
This took place in London on 4 June 1976. (Hingorani, 2010,

Characterization Of Ramayana Ram
Every one has a Ram within. What is Ram? A person, a hero, a god or just a concept? Ram could
have traits of what we define as Ravana and Sita.
Ramayana is a myth that shows different traits as different characters. People have translated it in
their own ways most commonly Ram to be the hero, the braveness; Sita to be a victim, the weak
one; Ravana to be the villain, the bad side. Everyone could have all of these traits together. It is
how you behave differently to each person in your life. And how you react in every situation.
This paper is trying to explore the different sides to a character through Ramayana.
This paper takes the approach where characters of Ramayana are concepts. It also explores
Characters in different relations; as a son, a husband, a brother, and a king. Concepts meaning traits
found in the person. It could be something Ram stand for.
Trying to question the hero (Ram), the victim (Sita) and the villain (Ravana) of the story. It also
addresses a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But was the myth only about Ram? Did the other characters have no role at all? Were they not
important enough or worthy enough?
Over the years there have been different telling of Ramayana. The word telling is used instead of
version because version is used when you have an original but nobody knows where did the
Ramayana originate. And as times changed people have adapted the Ramayana according to their
surroundings. The story may be the
same in every Ramayana, but the discourse may be vastly
different. Even the structure and sequence of events may be the same, but the style,
details,
tone, and texture may be vastly different.
Devdutt Patnaik as well has a slightly different take on Ramayana as well. He does not portray
Ram to be a hero, Sita to be a Victim and Ravana to be a villain but Ram is a god, Sita is the
goddess, Ravana is just a Brahmin who fails to expand his mind. He describes Ramayana not as
Rams journey but as the story of Sita and

Antisemitism The Holocaust
The Holocaust started because of ingrained antisemitism both in Germany and the countries it
conquered, compounded by propaganda and the encouragement and leadership of political leaders.
It also started because the passive and active perpetrators held deep animosity towards the Jewish
people ingrained by almost 2000 years of antisemitism in Christian teachings‚ which made them
receptive to the message of the Nazis, and which made the idea of eliminating and exterminating
Jewsreasonable and indeed desirable.
The Holocaust was undertaken by Adolph Hitler to extinguish an entire race, the Jewish People.
Similarly, for the past five years, four million Syrian refugees have been displaced and in need of
new residential areas while more than 11.6 million people have been affected by the civil war in
Syria. Like in the Holocaust, the Roma, physically and mentally disabled, communists and
homosexuals were targeted; not just the Jewish population. Both events demonstrate the inhumanity
of our times where a piece of paper with a stamp on it is the difference between life and death. ...

Prior to his upbringing and continuing, anti Semitism propaganda was abundant in production.
Nonetheless, Hitler established a Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda headed
by Joseph Goebbels. The Ministry s aim was to ensure the Nazi s anti semitic message was
successfully spread through any mode of communication. The propaganda reignited the resentment
and underlying hatred inside every German through the exploitation of anti semetic myths
entrenched in the European culture for generations. Propaganda also encouraged passivity and
acceptance of the impending measures against Jews, as these appeared to depict the Nazi
government restoring

Spirited Away Symbolism
Another character development showed an example in the move, Spirited Away when Master
Haku, a boy in the spirit world who assisted Chihiro seemed as though he couldn t be trusted;
however, the scene flipped where Haku was shown as a loving caring person. Additionally, in
Ponyo an example was also shown of Sosuke, a little boy helping Ponyo when she was trapped in
a jar; at first, the way the director depicted that scene, it seemed as if the boy was going to hurt
Ponyo which turned out not to be the case, that he too, like Haku was a loving caring human being.
From the narrator s point of view all of the characters looked suspicious, that some of them needed
something; towards the end of the movies, the audiences could tell that the director was trying to
alter the human perceptions.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Miyazaki shows his audience that both worlds share the same parallel circles; names were
powerful in the spirit and human worlds names identify identity in both worlds. It was very
important for Sen aka Chihiro, in Spirited Awayto remember her name because if she did not,
then she wouldn t be able to return to her natural world. In Ponyo it was also important for her to
have a name. Another example of the power of words was when Yubaba let Chihiro, in Spirited
Away , signed over her name to her and then she assigned Chihiro a new. Haku in Spirited Away ,
couldn t remember his name but he sensed that Yubaba had something to do with it, and so, he
made sure that Chihiro didn t forget her name because she would be trapped just as he was. Sosuke
also assigned Ponyo a name; not that giving Ponyo a name in the human world would bring
anything mystical, but it gives her self worth, identity, and belonging, just like Chihiro. Miyazaki
shows his audience that there was no difference in the sprite or the human world that both worlds
are equally

Usually automated mining consists of two types of technology with the first dealing with the
operations and software advancement and second one helps in mining vehicles and equipment with
computerized technology by applying robots. The technology is offered in three forms full
automation, remote control and teleoperation. Handheld remote control helps in mining bulldozers
that operate in risky conditions like underground mining, blast areas and are operated with the use
of handheld remote. Teleoperated technology also helps in mining vehicles by a operator but at a
safe distance from the mining location with use of positioning software, cameras. Lastly whole

Short Essay On Sophocles
The Ancient Greeks were fans of plays and feats of prowess while simultaneously proving
themselves better than everyone else. Sophocles is regarded as one of the most decorated Greek
tragedians, writing over 120 plays (Downey). He was a very important figure in Athens, taking up
several important roles in the government. He took up the role of commissioner in the
Peloponnesian War, led a victorious battle at Salamis at the age of 16, and many other
accomplishments as well, not to mention his esteemed writing career ( Ancient Greece Sophocles;
Sophocles ). Sophocles was an Ancient Greek tragedian who had a very decorated career until
his death in 405 BCE, who influenced every playwright to follow. Sophocles was born in 496
BCE in Hippeios Colonus, a town near Athens, Greece. He was raised by his father, Sophilus, who
was an armor manufacturer ( Ancient Greece Sophocles ; Taplin Woodard). Sophocles soon went to
study music for his education, under Lamprus (Downey). Sophocles, however, would not go down a

in existence. These plays are: Ajax , Antigone , The Trachinae , Oedipusthe King , Electra ,

plays, as they take place in Thebes, these three being Oedipus the King , Oedipus at Colonus , and
Antigone (Ancient Greece Sophocles ). These plays followed the great King Oedipus, who was
a famous hero from Sophocles hometown (Buller). Oedipus the King, also sometimes referred
to as Oedipus Rex or Oedipus Tyrannos was considered to be Sophocles masterpiece. Oedipus at
Colonus was the last play Sophocles ever wrote before he died (Downey). In all, over 1000

  • 2. The Effect Of Weight Lifting And Its Effects On Basketball... Weight Lifting and Its Effects on Basketball Players Ten people gather around a center point waiting as two giants square off between one another, clashing for the most valuable prize of the battle ahead: the basketball. A game of strategy and high demands, basketball calls on both the body and the mind in harmony in order to secure a victory. It calls on your body in many ways that will strip you of energy unlike any other sport. Additionally, the game will demand a high intelligence and acumen from the mind when making split second decisions. Lifting weights can positively impact your body, physically and mentally; furthermore, this training can then be applied onto the basketball court to help increase the physical and mental attributes of a player. Being well equipped physically for basketball provides many advantages when you apply it correctly. Basketball is a unique sport that contains non stop movement in every moment. The objective is simple: score more points than the other team. This is accomplished by a constant burst of speed, agility, and quickness that combines for fluid motions up and down the court. If a player is not trained properly, this consistent activity can be extremely strenuous to their body. Plus, in a game of basketball the gameplay is live until the ball goes out of bounds, there is a foul, timeout called, or the end of a quarter. While this may seem like quite a few factors to allow a dead ball and some rest time, they do not occur as much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Three Examples Of Saturated Fats Lactose intolerance and Fats What are saturated fat; three examples of saturated fats These are fat that is made up of atoms that are very dense and the hydrogen atoms fully join with carbon atoms with no double bonds. This makes the carbon atoms in the fat s molecular structure to be fully saturated with hydrogen atoms. Three examples of saturated fats are; 1) Butyric acid milk (especially buffalo, goat, and sheep), butter, Parmesan cheese. 2)Lauric acid coconut oil, palm kernel oil, laurel oil. 3) Myristic acid nutmeg, coconut oil, palm kernel oil and butterfat. (Wikipedia,2015) What are unsaturated fats; three examples of saturated fats: Unsaturated fat is a fatty acid that has one or more double bonds. These double bonds eliminates hydrogen atom from the molecular fatty acid chain. This makes unsaturated fats unsaturated with hydrogen atoms. The vegetable oil are heated or hydrogenated to create the trans fat. Three examples of foods that use trans fat are margarine, biscuit and frozen pizza. (Wikipedia,2015) Why might food producers add hydrogen atoms to a vegetable oil They would do this because vegetable oils are unsaturated with hydrogen atoms; by adding hydrogen atoms to the vegetable oil; it will make the liquid vegetable oils into solid or semi solid fats. This will make the vegetable oil fat more dense and thus make it more desirable for use in baking. The dense properties are more desirable for use in baking because of the more wanted texture vs the texture that would be made with the natural unsaturated vegetable oils. Nicole Brown Simpson Case Introduction On June 12, 1994, in the affluent community of Brentwood located in Los Angeles, California, a crime would take place that would captivate the minds of the American people, along with media outlets across the nation. A little after midnight on a cool spring day, a neighbor was out walking when he noticed a dog with bloody paws. After following the dog, the man came upon a horrific scene outside the home of Nicole Brown Simpsons on Bundy Drive. When police arrived at the scene they discovered two bodies lying outside the exterior front gate, later to be identified as Nicole Brown Simpson, the ex wife of the famous football player Orenthal J. Upon arrival, detectives receive no response at the gate, leading them to look around, particularly at a white Ford Bronco parked on the curb. Detectives would later note that the vehicle s tires were parked in such a way that would indicate that the vehicle had been driven recently and parked with haste. With inspection, detectives noticed a small speckle of blood on the driver s side door above the handle. • 5. Shovelbug Research Paper My beast, also known as the shovelbug, lives in a desert ecosystem with cold nights and scorching hot days. Due to these weather changes, the invertebrate has adapted to the environment in a couple of ways, which will be explained later. Even though there is very little of it, the vegetation that is found there includes low lying grasses/mosses and cacti. These patches of grass are scattered throughout the desert and there may be a variety of different species building their habitats in them. Aside from being a home to native species, the patches of grass may also be hiding predators waiting to strike. Lastly, is the soil in this environment which plays a big role in the shovelbug s survival. This soil is very hard for most organisms to dig through, which is what makes this insect unique in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a small invertebrate with multiple adaptations to survive in the desert ecosystem. For starters, this insect has very strong mandibles which can instantly kill the shovelbug s prey. However, the way it traps its prey in the first place is the interesting part. Similar to an antlion, the shovelbug digs a small pit in the sand with its shovel like legs, hence the name shovelbug. Soon after, an unknowing insect may wander into this pit and become food as a result. Having said that, this isn t all it does to capture prey. This insect actually creates a web identical to that of a spider s which ensures that the shovelbug s food won t be escaping. Additionally, my beast has developed long, oval shaped wings like the ones you would find on dragonflies. This adaptation makes for a quick escape if the shovelbug comes across a dangerous predator. Another adaptation to avoid predators is the hard exoskeleton which helps them blend into their environment. From the good to the bad these types of inventions have changed our lives forever. These types of things are both things we use everyday, down to food people eat everyday. Food is a necessity to live, but what will surprise you is that some of the food people today were all accidental discoveries. Saccharin is an artificial sweetener people use to sweeten their food. This was discovered in 1879 when Constantin Fahlberg was trying to find alternative use for coal tar and forgot to wash his hands after work. The potato chip was invented by fed up chef George Crum who to teach an annoy customer a lesson sliced the potatoes thin, fried them and put salt on them, which to his surprise the customer liked. When Coca Cola was discovered by pharmacist John Pemberton, it was meant to be a medication, however as things would work out it is now a common soft drink that will work out for any party. • 7. Nelson Mandela Character Analysis Nyayiel Lok Director Riveroll Senior Monday 11 Sep 2017 Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. The first person I think of is Nelson Mandela. Mandela s ultimate success had to do with his character and background. Although he was born in a royal family, grew up in a divided region of South Africa between blacks and whites. He still managed to maintain a correct mindset to a path leading to success. You can come from a small surrounding and have a bigger triumph than someone who comes from a lot more, or it s the total opposite. In this case, it s the fact that coming from a wealthy family who supports you will get you anywhere. One s background definitely has an impact on successful people. If it were a different person with a different background, hence the situation would have turned out differently. Many people are born already into an easier lifestyle because of the place their family has already had. Robert Oppenheimer was a smart guy who turned out to be successful with the support of his family and wealth. Oppenheimer didn t face the lifetime struggles, Lagan has. But he did suffer from depression and was emotionally unstable, which made sense as to why, Oppenheimer took some chemicals from the laboratory and tried to poison his tutor (Gladwell 98). The first instance is that any person is going to go to jail for any crime he or she did, no matter who they are or what reputation they hold. But for this case, Oppenheimer was taken out the hot seat and was not punished. I believe he was let out of the situation way too easily and it was odd for them to do. Gladwell here covers every detail of Oppenheimer s case, making it to the university and how they handled it, Blackett, luckily, found out that something was amiss. The university was informed. Oppenheimer was called on the carpet. And what happened next is every bit as unbelievable as the crime itself. Various pollutants generated and deposited in the urban regions are washed off to the receiving waters during storm events, resulting in receiving water quality degradation. The impacts on receiving water quality degradation include elevated toxicity, algal blooms and excessive sedimentation. Thus, use of stormwater pollution mitigation strategies to improve the quality of receiving waters has become increasingly important. Water sensitive urban design (WSUD) is the stormwater management philosophy adopted in Australia. The aims of WSUD are to manage stormwater quality and quantity to minimise the impacts of urban developments on the surrounding environment (Lloyd et al., 2002). WSUD concepts are developed to provide technically effective, more economical and less environmentally damaging solutions for stormwater management. However, there are barriers in widespread implementation of WSUD. In this regard, the long term viability of implemented WSUD systems are perceived with high level of importance (Lloyd et al., 2002). Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a pathogen that can cause cancer. HPV is one of the few cancer causing pathogens that has a vaccination that is already being administered to the general public. The administering of this vaccinewould prevent millions of people from becoming infected. Each year about 14 million men and women are infected with the human papillomavirus, though many could be prevented. HPV is a widely contractible virus that can yield cancerous effects, but it is largely preventable via proper vaccination. Human papillomavirus is a virus that can cause warts, or as the name suggests papilloma, along with some types of cancers. Papillomas are benign tumors that in this case are caused by the human papillomavirus. Human papillomavirus is a group of over a hundred viruses with at least fifteen that are a high risk for causing cancer. HPV is usually passed from person to person during sexual intercourse, though it usually is addressed as a virus that can be passed via skin to skin contact. In shared caches the caches are splitted into blocks and are used randomly by each core in a multi core processor. Because of this there is severe delay experienced by each core and the processing speed is also reduced. This happens due to more time taken for read operation of memory and CPU. The problem faced by such architectures is cache contention. So far the time required for fetching is more when compared to the execution process. The fetching time must be reduced. Hence to address this problem, we have implemented a program that allows the usage of cache memory for each core of a processor at same time. In our concept, we execute all jobs of each... • 14. Mcdonald s A Competitive Advantage SYNOPSIS In the United States, the fast food market provides consumers quick meals at a reasonable cost. It has grown significantly in recent years with an 8.7% average annual growth rate throughout the 1980 s. The concept of the industry, providing healthy alternatives to traditional fast food and being environmentally sound is the latest example how consumers affect the industry. The companies must be able to change very quickly in order to meet these customer demands and the changing environment while still conforming to its strategy. For an example, consider McDonald s Corporation; it is a company that has been able to remain true to its philosophy and still be able to adapt to the market situation. The resources and capabilities the company has assembled has allowed it to be a consistent top performer even in a market that is competitive. This paper discusses several capabilities and resources that provided McDonald s a competitive advantage: food innovations, customer satisfaction, regulatory standards, intensive training program, quality products, franchisee relationships, and supplier relations. By applying the VRIO theory to the information discovered in the case, it was determined that the resources and capabilities that McDonald s possessed in the 1990 s allowed it to gain a sustainable competitive advantage which lead to industry success throughout the years. Lust can be further practically defined as the inability to place selfless love on a higher pedestal than selfish desire. Shakespeare explores these conflicting definitions of lust in his 129th sonnet, condemning his animalistic variations of lust that coexist with his desire for a genuine state of love. As opposed to following the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When juxtaposed with the opening line, an inappropriate form of lust is a waste of the vitality that a person can give to the world in the form of intellect. In accordance with this natural tendency, the tone of the first half of the sonnet is most definitely savage (Martin 5), supported by the words bloody...murderous, which brings about the connotation of a fierce creature of nature with only the desire to quench the physical thirst. These first lines support the wild tendencies by comparing Shakespeare s initial action of lust to the first defense (Vendler 551) of an animal, partial to primitively impulsive behavior. The speaker is trying to erase his guilt when his rationality as a man should advise a reformation of his reasons for love. Throughout the sonnet, there is a continuous reference, more technically, a conceit of the hunt that further enhances the image of animals in their natural setting, uninhibited by society s rules. Some critics have gone so far as to contest that Shakespeare mocks primitive lust. However, its sole presence is quite pitiful, for the speaker is unable to grasp a greater level of satisfaction that is everlasting, not ephemeral. The distinction between selflessness and selfishness is one that separates the human from the savage animal, although these opposing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William wrote over 120 pieces, including sonnets, madrigals, and other secular works (William). William is best known for his development of the English madrigal. (Britannica) A madrigal is a choral piece for two to four people. In his song, Ave Verum Corpus , we can clearly hear this use of many choral voices. In fact, this effect can be found in a almost all of William s works. He took large risks by using two, three, four, or even more voices to blend perfect harmonies and use alternating melodies. The result is beautiful music that would be used, even today, by countless others. On aspect of his music is the joining of high and low voices. There are areas in his music where the low voices sing but the high voices do not and vice versa. Then, William does a splendid job of blending them together, using the differing pitches of the singers to compliment each others voices. The result is a full sound that is not too muddy and low, yet not too high and pitchy. His songs were almost always in Latin wording, including the constant use of the phrase Agnus Dei or Lamb of God . If listening very closely, one might be able to hear this phrase repeated in many of the works provided by William. In 1960 the percent of children living with two parents was seventy three percent; in 2013 the percent decreased to forty six. The family unit is the basic social unit of society. The familyunit helps each member learn about and get used to social roles. Each member holds a specific function or social role in the family. In a healthy family all members fulfill their functions and emotional expression is accepted. Also, most healthy families practice a religion. If the family members fail to fulfill their functions the family unit disintegrates. Dysfunctional families are often caused by a parent not fulfilling their function or being abusive. A parent might not function enough and not care enough for the children. The parent might also function too much and not give room for children to grow. In a functional family unit, the parents give space for their children to grow, but also have a set of established rules. Establishing a functional family unit is important because they form the basic unit of society, the functionality of the family affects the mental functionality of the children, it greatly affects the children s future, and it affects society as a whole. Although some might argue that the functionality of the family does not severely impact a child s mental health, studies have shown otherwise. Two large meta analyses, one reported ... In Erich Fromm we notice a compassionate concern for the unfolding of life. Fromm claims that the growing process of the emergence of the individual from his original ties, a process which we may call individuation, seems to have reached its peak in modern history in the centuries between the Reformation and the present. Which I think is very true. Setting themselves over against nature they have lost their unity and feel unbearably alone, lost, and powerless. This same process can be seen in the development of individual human beings. Each of us initially feels at one with our environment, but then becomes gradually more aware of our individuality. Fromm determines, therefore, that on the one side of the growing process of individuation is the growth of self strength, but on the other side of this process is a growing aloneness. A clock reaction is a form of chemical reaction where multiple reagents are placed together with no apparent change after a time lag until a dramatic colour change appears called the induction period (King, Preece and Billingham, 1999). This abrupt colour change can be due to the limiting reagent being fully consumed which allows the remaining chemicals to react resulting in a colour change. Specific kinetic and stoichiometric conditions are required for this standard clock behaviour to occur. Clock reactions can be highly useful to investigate rates of reaction as the rate of the colour change may differ due to varying factors. Figure 1: Effect of order on the reactant (UCDAVIS 2, 2017) Typically, the order of a reactant does not go beyond a second order. The greater the order is, the greater the increase in reaction rate when the reactant is doubled. The sum of the order of reactants for the experiment is then the order of the overall reaction (UCDAVIS 2, 2017). The two methods to determine the rate law of a kinetics experiment is by initial rates and by integrated rate law. To utilise the initial rates method, multiple experiments can be conducted with differing concentrations and measuring the initial rate for the reactions (Yamauchi, Nord and Schullery, 2016). From this, the reaction order for the corresponding substance can be calculated and the rate constant can be found. However, the method of initial rates requires the chemical reaction to be fairly slow and since several experiments need to be executed, it is not an ideal method. The integrated rate law method utilises integrated rate laws in comparison with the collected data relating concentration and time during a kinetics experiment (SparkNotes, 2017). This method finds the order of the reactant by plotting the time versus a function of the concentration data and using trial and error with a selected rate law. If the integrated rate law is correct, the data points will appear linear and if it is not linear then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is very clear that ethnical established ways of thinking have always been challenged in Indian theatreperformance for several reasons. These consist of the disadvantages faced by the ethnic groups on the British stage, the use of Indian languages, and how Indian Theatre is looked upon by audiences Indian and non Indian. It also explores Characters in different relations; as a son, a husband, a brother, and a king. Concepts meaning traits found in the person. It could be something Ram stand for. Did the other characters have no role at all? Were they not important enough or worthy enough? Over the years there have been different telling of Ramayana. The word telling is used instead of version because version is used when you have an original but nobody knows where did the Ramayana originate. And as times changed people have adapted the Ramayana according to their surroundings. The story may be the
same in every Ramayana, but the discourse may be vastly different. Even the structure and sequence of events may be the same, but the style, details,
tone, and texture may be vastly different. Devdutt Patnaik as well has a slightly different take on Ramayana as well. He does not portray Ram to be a hero, Sita to be a Victim and Ravana to be a villain but Ram is a god, Sita is the goddess, Ravana is just a Brahmin who fails to expand his mind. He describes Ramayana not as Rams journey but as the story of Sita and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Antisemitism The Holocaust The Holocaust started because of ingrained antisemitism both in Germany and the countries it conquered, compounded by propaganda and the encouragement and leadership of political leaders. It also started because the passive and active perpetrators held deep animosity towards the Jewish people ingrained by almost 2000 years of antisemitism in Christian teachings‚ which made them receptive to the message of the Nazis, and which made the idea of eliminating and exterminating Jewsreasonable and indeed desirable. The Holocaust was undertaken by Adolph Hitler to extinguish an entire race, the Jewish People. Similarly, for the past five years, four million Syrian refugees have been displaced and in need of new residential areas while more than 11.6 million people have been affected by the civil war in Syria. Like in the Holocaust, the Roma, physically and mentally disabled, communists and homosexuals were targeted; not just the Jewish population. Both events demonstrate the inhumanity of our times where a piece of paper with a stamp on it is the difference between life and death. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Spirited Away Symbolism Another character development showed an example in the move, Spirited Away when Master Haku, a boy in the spirit world who assisted Chihiro seemed as though he couldn t be trusted; however, the scene flipped where Haku was shown as a loving caring person. Additionally, in Ponyo an example was also shown of Sosuke, a little boy helping Ponyo when she was trapped in a jar; at first, the way the director depicted that scene, it seemed as if the boy was going to hurt Ponyo which turned out not to be the case, that he too, like Haku was a loving caring human being. From the narrator s point of view all of the characters looked suspicious, that some of them needed something; towards the end of the movies, the audiences could tell that the director was trying to alter the human perceptions.... Miyazaki shows his audience that both worlds share the same parallel circles; names were powerful in the spirit and human worlds names identify identity in both worlds. It was very important for Sen aka Chihiro, in Spirited Awayto remember her name because if she did not, then she wouldn t be able to return to her natural world. In Ponyo it was also important for her to have a name. Another example of the power of words was when Yubaba let Chihiro, in Spirited Away , signed over her name to her and then she assigned Chihiro a new. Haku in Spirited Away , couldn t remember his name but he sensed that Yubaba had something to do with it, and so, he made sure that Chihiro didn t forget her name because she would be trapped just as he was. Sosuke also assigned Ponyo a name; not that giving Ponyo a name in the human world would bring anything mystical, but it gives her self worth, identity, and belonging, just like Chihiro. Miyazaki shows his audience that there was no difference in the sprite or the human world that both worlds are equally ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
