Global Warming Persuasive Essay
Writing a persuasive essay on the topic of global warming can be a challenging yet rewarding
task. The complexity lies not only in presenting a coherent argument but also in conveying the
urgency and importance of addressing this global issue. The subject matter requires a deep
understanding of scientific concepts, environmental policies, and the interconnectedness of
various factors contributing to climate change.
One of the difficulties in crafting such an essay is striking the right balance between scientific
data and emotional appeal. It's essential to present compelling evidence that supports the reality
of global warming while engaging the reader on a personal level. Finding credible sources,
interpreting complex scientific information, and translating it into accessible language can be
time-consuming and challenging.
Moreover, crafting a persuasive essay involves addressing potential counterarguments and
providing convincing rebuttals. Anticipating and refuting opposing views requires thorough
research and critical thinking skills. Striking a persuasive tone without sounding alarmist or
overly optimistic adds an additional layer of complexity to the writing process.
Creating a well-structured essay with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion is crucial for
effective communication. Organizing thoughts and arguments in a logical sequence while
maintaining a persuasive flow can be a demanding task.
In summary, writing a persuasive essay on global warming demands a combination of research
skills, scientific understanding, rhetorical finesse, and a deep commitment to conveying the
urgency of the issue. It's a challenging endeavor that requires dedication and a genuine passion
for environmental advocacy.

CHAPTER THREE
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.1 Introduction
This chapter comprised of research design, research philosophy, empirical model,
operationalization and measurement of variables, target population, sampling design,
data collection instruments, data collection procedure and data analysis and
presentation. The operational methodology that was used in this study was the before
and after basis where data was collected on firms before using venture capital and
after using venture capital. (Bueselinck Margnat, 2003) argue that there is no gold
standard in impact measurement.
3.2 Research design
(Borg Gall, 1983) defined research design as a detailed plan on how a research
study will be conducted. It is a plan according to which data is collected to
investigate the research hypothesis or question in an economical manner. According
to Gall et al (2003) a research design is a plan for collecting and utilizing data so as
to obtain the desired information with sufficient precision or so that a hypothesis can
be tested properly. It is a framework that guides the collection and analysis of data.
A descriptive research design was adopted for this research. According to (Cooper
Schindler, 2003), a descriptive study is concerned with finding out the what, where
and how of a phenomenon. (Saunder et al, 2003) further assert that descriptive
research is used principally to gain a deeper understanding of something. The
descriptive research collects data in order to answer questions
Essay On Sex Trafficking In North Carolina
Polaris rates all 50 states based on ten criterions of laws that are fundamental to
warding off human trafficking. The Ten criterions are as follows: sex trafficking
provisions, labor trafficking provisions, asset forfeiture, training or human trafficking
task force, a lower burden of proof for sex trafficking of minors, human trafficking
hotline, safe harbor, victim assistance, access to civil damages and vacating
convictions for sex trafficking victims. North Carolina has provisions that cover
eight out of the ten categories. North Carolina does not have a human trafficking
hotline; additionally, victims do not have access to civil damages. As a result of
meeting eight out of the ten criterions, North Carolina is ranked as a Tier 1 state.
North Carolina scored 3 more points than it needed to make the bare minimum of the
(7+ points) to qualify for Tier 1. Moreover, the Tier 1 designation means that North
Carolina has passed enough laws that that adequately fight human trafficking, but

This number is likely even higher due to the fact that many trafficking victims go
unnoticed. Furthermore, the NHTH stated that most of North Carolinas Trafficking
victims are used for labor. North Carolina sits in between two major HT hubs,
Washington DC and Atlanta Georgia. To further exacerbate the situation I 85 and 95
run from several other states directly into NC which allows traffickers to smoothly
move victims in and out of the state quickly and easily. In addition to the interstate
bringing in trafficking victims, the coastline is also vulnerable. The ports along the
coastline allow for easy unrestricted access into North Carolina. Also, North Carolina
has an international airport which makes international sex tourism
Business Torts Ethics And Ethics
Business Torts Ethics Business Torts Ethics As a business owner or manager, one
must always be aware of potential risks and liabilities, and perform necessary actions
to limit or remove those liabilities in their entirety. These foreseeable risks are
situations which can subject the owner to different types of torts. Furthermore,
beyond just reducing the possible financial and criminal liability, owners have an
ethical responsibility to provide an environment free of the risk of damages to their
customers. The following is a discussion of a potentially tortious situation, legal and
ethical responsibilities of the owner, and methods of mitigating risk. Anatomy of a

282) and include injuries that are substantially likely to result from the behavior or
action. Included in the categories of intentional tort are assault and battery, trespass,
intentional infliction of mental distress, and invasion of privacy (Reed et al., 2016).
Assault and battery includes the threat of harm, a present ability to carry out the
threat, and a harmful or offensive touching of another (Farlex, Inc, 2016). The
intruder threatened Sharon and Darryl, was able to carry out the threat at that
moment and followed through by physically harming each of them. Trespass
involves entering someone s land without their permission (Reed et al., 2016). The
intruder forced his way into Sharon s apartment without her consent. Intentional
infliction of mental distress is defined by Reed et al. (2016) as a battery to the
emotions (p. 284) and usually must be accompanied by physical manifestations.
The intruder inflicted distress upon Sharon as evidenced by her screams, and she
was physically harmed in the process. Invasion of privacy occurs when one intrudes
upon another s solitude, such as an illegal invasion of one s home (Reed et al.,
2016). It is clear in this example that the intruder illegally invaded Sharon s home.
Based on these definitions, the intruder s act of not only entering the property by
force, but further inflicting injury upon Sharon and Darryl makes him liable for
The Devil Wears Prada Satire
Journal Assignment# 7 The Devil Wears Prada is defined as light comedy. In some
ways, even though it cannot elicit out loud laughter, it still has its own unique
humor. The Devil Wears Prada is a movie that tells a story about a young girl who
just graduated from college is hired to be a personal assistant in a famous fashion
magazine office. She tries her best to meet the requirements of her boss and
experiences struggle and helpless, and finally, she made her choice bravely. The
message that the movie conveys to audience is people always have choice whether
in prosperity or adversity, and everyone should stick to his or her choice and be
worthy to the heart. Even though there is a big difference between the movie scenes

Cuban Embargo Case Study
The economic interest of the Unites States greatly outweighs the benefit of
maintaining a Cuban Embargo and should be the motive for its repeal. The intent of
the original embargo was to prevent the Castro regime from assuming power and to
deter foreign investment. Both of these initiatives have failed and the consequences
of a decades old embargo land squarely on the general population of Cubaand the
business interests of the Unites States. American business have much to gain with the
removal of the Cuban Embargo. Business opportunities abound in the agriculture
market, banking sector, medical field, and construction industries. The effect of the
Cuban Embargo should be understood in order to appreciate the opportunities its

High Performance Tire
BUS 485
Executive Summary
High Performance Tire is a family owned business that was founded in 1952. The
founder s daughter, Jane Wallace, ran the company before turning over management
responsibilities to her son, William Wallace in 2001. Since then, the company s
performance has declined. High Performance Tire s reputation in the industry has
turned to negative and employee turnover rate have increased. Jane Wallace is
concerned of how the business is running. Her intention of keeping the company
within the family is threatened with her son s inability to run the business effectively.
This case is important to look at because it demonstrates the importance of having a

Mr. Wallace also decided to cut the wages and benefits from skilled employees to
help with increasing profits. These skilled employees were then under paid and
decided to leave the company only to be replaced with younger workers with less
experience. The employee turnover rate ended up causing the company more money
in the long run. Another issue in this case came from Jane Wallace herself. She gave
full managerial rights to her son at full capacity regardless of the doubts and fears she
had. William Wallace did not have the managementexperience to run the family
business.
Recommendation
High Performance Tire (HPT) is in a position where they are no longer making
profits and the business have declined drastically since 2001. Jane Wallace wants to
improve condition of their family business and to ensure that they will be able to
continue to operate in the future. There a few recommended strategy tools HPT
should use to come up with a strategic plan. First, is for the company to conduct a
SWOT analysis to analyze the current state of the business and to determine areas
where work needs to be done. Second, HPT needs to analyze the industry and
completion environment by following the Porter s Five Forces framework. This tool
can allow HPT to learn more about their competitive environment and figure out
where to better position their company amongst their competitors. Furthermore, this
tool can help give them competitive advantage over their

Many solutions to the black market have been proposed, including legalizing drugs

is a concession to criminals and drug users, while others argue that government

The Laffer Curve, By Mark Koba
So, what exactly is the Laffer curve? According to The Laffer Curve:CNBC
Explains, by Mark Koba , The Laffer Curve is an economic tax theory that argues
that increasing tax rates beyond a specific point would prove to eventually be counter
productive to the economy as well as government revenue. The Laffer curve is a
special graph that depicts the relationship between a government s taxrate as a whole
as well as the number of tax revenue it receives. According to Laffer Curve Center s
article, the Laffer curve is one of the large theoretical constructs of the supply side
of economics. They also go deeper as to say that in simplicity, the Laffer Curve
illustrate a picture of the trade of that dwells between tax rates and the total tax...

The response to revenue to a tax rate change will be reflected on depending on what
the tax system is in place at that specific moment as well as the time period, the
movement of it inside the underground activities, the levels of tax rate that is already
in place, the prevalence of legal and accounting driven tax loopholes, and the
proclivities of the productive factor.
When analyzing the concepts of the Laffer Curve it is detrimental to understand all of
the aspects that make up the Laffer curve. When analyzing it is simple to point to the
idea that if there are no taxes, then there will be no income for the government
revenue. However, one question remains whenever the government decides to set a
high tax. What affect will this high tax have on the governments revenue? Naturally I
assumed that if the government took the action of implementing a higher tax in their
system, then this would mean that they would receive a higher a revenue from the
people. I was wrong in this sort of thinking, because this is generally not what
happens. I have come to find out through research from the article Exploring the
Laffer Curve: Behavioral Responses to TaxationBy: Samuel Kazman that whenever
the government sets a high tax on the people, the causes a sense of reluctance in
them to pay the taxes. No one is willing to give a large portion of their income to the
government, and if they were forced to then this would cause for them to
Similarities Between Buddhism And Buddhism
Buddhism, like other world religions, is not one homogeneous grouping of like
minded devotees adhering to one school of thought. Just as Christianity has its
Catholics and Protestants, and Islam its Sunnis and Shiites, Buddhism is also
comprised of various schools and sects. Some scholars separate Buddhist schools into
geographical groupings, such as Southern, Eastern and Northern traditions, whereas
some prefer to focus on a more tradition specific delineation, such as Theravada,
Mahayana, and Vajrayana Buddhism(Cousins 1998, p. 370; Buddhism 2015 ). All
traditions accept the fundamental Buddhist doctines of Four Noble Truths, the Noble
Eightfold Path, anatta (absence of soul) and karma (causation), but differ on other
significant aspects. This essay will compare and contrast two Buddhist traditions, the
Therevada Buddhism of Sri Lanka, and Mahayana Buddhism of China. Theravada
Buddhism can also be characterised as representative of the Southern tradition of
Buddhism, whereas Mahayana is of the Eastern tradition. This essay will also address
how these particular types of Buddhism developed in their respective countries.
Prior to the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka in 247 BCE, the cultural environment
was characterised by a mix of indigenous (veddha) and Aryan beliefs, influenced by
elements of mainland Indian culture (Perera 2013). It was the Indian Emperor Asoka
who sent his son, Mahinda, to introduce Buddhism to the Sri Lankan king (Robinson,

Adam Yauch Research Paper
Adam Yauch (or his stage name, MCA) was the bassist and one of the three
members of the Beastie Boys, alongside Adam Horovitz (Ad Rock) and Michael
Diamond (Mike D). MCA was born on August 5th, 1964 in Manhattan, where he
continued to live throughout most of his life. Yauch was raised in a non religious
environment by his parents Noel and Frances Yauch, but grew up to become a
Buddhist. Adam Yauch taught himself bass in high school and started the Beastie Boys
as a punk rock band with Mike Diamond and former members John Berry on
Guitar, and Kate Schellenbach on drums. The group later on became the rap group
known today with Ad Rock on guitar. The band released their first album, Licensed
to Ill, on November 11, 1986 with hit songs such as Brass Monkey and Fight for
Your Right . The album became the first rap album to reach Number One, and sold
over 9 million copies in the U.S.. Following Licensed to Ill, the Beastie Boys
released Paul s Boutique in 1989, which was critically considered to be a
masterpiece, being compared to Pet Sounds and Dark Side of the Moon. They
released three albums in the nineties (Check Your Head, Ill Communication, and
Hello Nasty) and a few EPs. In the 2000 s, the band released To the 5 Boroughs, The

What would you say about Harry s character?
Aristotle: I would say that Harry s character was very tainted and distorted. His
only motivation was brought on by his very own pleasure and pain, which is not in
sync with any moral or ethical virtues. There is nothing by doing which a son will
have done the equivalent of what he has received, so that he is always in debt. For
no one could ever return to them (his mom) the equivalent of what he gets, but the
man who serves them with the utmost or his power is thought to be a good man.
That is not to be said about Harry.
Interviewer: Harry has a Dynamite dream, a vision of a better life that stems from
scoring some really good dope, cutting it, and then redistributing it in order to better
himself financially and to get off the streets so he can stop stealing from his mom.
He also wants to better his mom s situation, his girlfriend s situation, and his best
friend/using buddies situation. In Harry s mind he s doing something good. How do
you feel about Harry s intentions and his dream?

People try to understand the world through perception of experiences that they
encounter. These encounters include either living through the experience first hand
or the experience being conveyed by another person. Our perception weeds out main
ideas from those experiences deeming them realistic and if so labels them truths.
However, our perception of the obtained truthfrom those experiences is not always
credible because as a recipient we are restricted to the amount of experience we can
retain. Meaning the perceptions of the labeled truths is a result of our translationof
incomplete experiences into new perception resulting from what he or she could

Due our limitations as recipients, which cause truth to vary among us, discovering
truth becomes impossible because of its constant changes.
When we encounter experiences through person to person, alterations occur at
times on purpose by the conveyor on the experience so the translation by the
recipient can result in the closest experience to the experience retained by the
conveyor. These changes highlight the retained ideas in the experience, allowing it
to remain a truth, O Brien explains, when you go to tell about it, there is always
that surreal seemingness, which makes the story untrue, but which in fact represents
the hard and exact truth as it seemed (O Brien 442). As a recipient of an experience
one is bound by only the translation of the experience one can retain, so when the
conveyor tells his or her experience/story. The conveyor emphasizes the experience
retained causing the alterations in the experience but this allows the recipient to
translate a truth similar to the conveyor. Those translations are also seen in Krakauer
s writings, where Krakauer show McCandless was prepared by translating
McCandless s experiences through McCandless journal entries, He was green, and he

What Is Poe A Genius
Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19, 1809, and died October 7, 1849; he lived
only forty years, but during his brief lifetime, he made a permanent place for
himself in American literature and also in world literature. A few facts about Poe s
life are indisputable, but, unfortunately, almost everything else about Poe s life has
been falsified, romanticized, slanderously distorted, or subjected to grotesque
Freudian interpretations. Poe, it has been said at various times, was a manic
depressive, a dope addict, an epileptic, and an alcoholic; moreover, it has been
whispered that he was syphilitic, that he was impotent, and that he fathered at least
one illegitimate child. Hardly any of Poe s biographers have been content to write a

Poe and his foster father often quarreled during his adolescence and as soon as he
was able to leave home, Poe enrolled at the University of Virginia. While he was
there, he earned a good academic record, but Mr. Allan never allowed him the means
to live in the style his social status demanded. When Poe tried to keep up with his
high living classmates, he incurred so many gambling debts that the parsimonious
Mr. Allan prevented his returning for a second year of study.
Unhappy at home, Poe got money somehow (probably from Mrs. Allan) and went
to Boston, where he arranged for publication of his first volume of poetry,
Tamerlane and Other Poems (1827). He then joined the army. Two years later, when
he was a sergeant major, he received a discharge to enter West Point, to which he
was admitted with Mr. Allan s help. Again, however, he felt frustrated because of the
paltry allowance which his foster father doled out to him, so he arranged to be court
martialed and

Essay Reading a TV Commercial
Reading a TV Commercial The first bit in the advert shows a predominantly red
background with dancers silhouetted in the bottom left hand corner. I think that the
silhouette is in the corner because that isn t what we are supposed to see. Even
though this image shows enjoyment and excitement as the feeling you get from
coca cola, this isn t what they are selling. In the bottom left hand corner as well
there is a small logo saying, dance . The writing in this caption is in much the same
style as the coca cola logo so this and the red could both be the first signs of coca
cola. The second clip is of a hand on a keyboard. As in the last clip, the caption,
dance is still in the corner. In this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The man is the central figure, even though his face is blurred, because he
represents the action and energy made by the feeling you get from a coca cola. In
the background is a drinks vending machine with the coca cola logo on the side.
This is to remind you that he gets the feeling from coca cola and also plays a part
in the anchorage of the whole advert. The fourth extract is of three coke bottles
dancing. This implies that the coca cola has so much energy in it, the bottles even
move themselves. This is an insight into the effect it has on us. This is also when
the caption dance disappears. This could be because the writing on the coke
bottles is similar to the writing in the caption and so this shows the connection
between action and movement (dance) and coca cola. The cola bottle also moves
to the beat of the backing track. The fifth part is of a night gowned dancer in an
attic bedroom. The main colour in this one is yellow which, to me, represents
warmth, sunshine and summer. This could be to show that coca cola is best drunk
when it is summer and it is really hot weather. Also with the clip being in a
bedroom it shows that coca cola can wake you up even if you are sleepy at the end
of the day and it puts you on a high. The aspect of being on a high is also shown
because it is shot in an attic, which is obviously very high up in a house. This sixth

Criricism of Wilkie Collins’ Woman in White Essay
Criricism of Wilkie Collins Woman in White
To Mr. Collins belongs the credit of having introduced into fiction those most
mysterious of mysteries, the mysteries which are at our own doors. So said Henry
James in an unsigned review of another author s work. But his view was certainly
not shared by all those who cast their opinions into the fray. An unsigned review in
the Saturday Review said of Collins work, Estimated by the standard of great novels,
the Woman in Whiteis nowhere. Somewhere between these two points are friends
and correspondents of Mr. WilkieCollins. Novelist George Meredith wrote to Collins
himself saying, The tension of the W[oman] in W[hite] is not exactly pleasant,

Another is a good natured family lawyer of the old school. A third is a brave and
determined lady. Playing on Collins own comparisons to a court trial this reviewer
wrote, They are not staring at the spectators, or, if they are, they are staring listlessly
and vacantly, like witnesses who are waiting to be called before the court, and have
nothing to do until their turn arrives.
Of course many positive critiques of the novel existed. One was written as a direct
reaction to the Saturday Review piece. This anonymous reviewer of the Spectator
cried out , The vivid and manifold emotions with which we read her story are still
fresh in our memory, and we retain a lively sense of the personality of every actor
in it from Marian and Laura down to the old parish clerk. Yet we are told that the
author `does not attempt to paint character or passion. He is not in the least
imaginative! Mashallah! This critic ends his or her review stating, To sneer at the
best thing of its kind because it is not something else is a convenient mode of
detraction, and, when done with assurance and a certain degree of literary tact, it
may pass with the unwary for authoritative criticism; but it seems a pitiful thing after
all when once the trick of it has been discovered.
And once again a middle road emerged from between the two extreme views. An
unsigned in The Times praised Collins, but with restraint. We must be content to ask,

The Theory Of The Drive Theory
Drive Theory The Drive theory was so named by Freud because of its emphasis on
libidinal and aggressive drives, which Freud considers to be the two principal
motivating forces of human behavior, and which barks for attention and expression.
A child at birth is in a state of primary narcissism, and it clamors to have its needs
met irrespective of the comforts of others. The erogenous zones (mouth, anus and
genitals) are the avenues through which the energies are directed, and by stimulating
these areas, the child finds pleasure. If energies are not adequately released, anxiety
results, but as the child develops, it learns to regulate such forces for its ultimate
good and that of others. Freud believes that three components of... Show more content

If human beings functioned solely from the Id s control center, there would be
absolute chaos, since people will do whatever they wish, whenever they wish, and
wherever they wish, irrespective of consequences. The Ego lives in both the
conscious and the unconscious mind, and it represent the I of the individual. The
Ego functions like a good citizen, and acts as an intermediary between the Id, the
superego, and the external environment, to procure socially acceptable behavior. The
ego coordinates volition, and its main business is to protect self. It also regulates and
suppresses the inordinate promptings of the Id through reasoning and compromises,
and is capable of delaying gratification for the future. As maturation ensues, the ego
expands, while the id shrinks, except in special cases where the individual is fixated
at the infantile level. Conditioned on the examination that people with strong egos
often have weak ids and superegos, Freud concludes that the relative distribution of
energy among these forces affects personality directly. Top of Form Bottom of Form
The superego is the conscience that grows out of parental prohibitions, and it
represents the moral component of the personality. Through the diminution of early
narcissism, when the child begins to acknowledge its limits, the superego imposes
itself as a kind of watchdog over the ego, making sure that the
Mercy Is A Residential Treatment Facility Essay
To start off this journey, you need a little background. Life didn t make much sense
when I was a kid. There was lots of abuse and not so much fun. This all led to a
place called Mercy Ministries and that is where this journey begins. Mercy is a
residential treatment facility. I was introduced to the idea of Mercy in December
of 2012, and I was accepted into the program in May of 2013. My entrance date
was June 3, 2013. The first thought I had was when am I going to leave this hellish
place. Six months had past and I received the month of which was going to be my
graduation. I could taste the finish line, I had three months left, I was going to
graduate in March. I had no idea what day it was going to be but I knew that I was
going to leave with the victory that God had given me. The next 3 months would be
spent looking for a place of residence I could call home. So I called my best friend.
So when I get out of this place, can I stay with you? Sure, how long do you think you
will stay? I will be home for good, so how long do you want me for? If forever works
for you, I would be totally fine having you for that long. As I hung up the phone
with my best friend, I knew everything would be okay. Life was going to work
itself out and I was going to be safe when I went home. The time went on and
March got closer, my time had finally come, A DATE!! March 24, 2014, that is the
day I would graduate. More phone calls with my best friend ensured me that I

myself captivated by the text and class readings. First of all, the big picture of the

with his people, they would have to become holy and he alone is the one who
makes them holy. In fact, the closer they came to God the more holy they would
need to be. Desmond Alexander said it this way, For the Israelites to enjoy a close
and meaningful relationship... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can even be pictured through the arrangement of the Tabernacle. The further
in, the more holy it becomes. So much so, that only the High Priest may enter the
Holy of Holies. Secondly, many others and I have approached Leviticus from a
logical and modern perspective, which creates confusion. However, Mary Douglas
points out the overwhelming analogical emphasis of the entire book. She says, only
when we take, the whole system of analogies in which it nests will [we] show how it
is to be read (Douglas 20). In other words, every aspect of the book is connected
intricately together to underscore the holiness of God. Furthermore, Douglas points
out that, Bible students have to choose between accepting the muddle made by
imposing a Western linear reading upon an archaic text, or trying to read the book
through its own literary conventions (Douglas 51). This opens up a clearer new
view of Leviticus where the entire sacrificial system is connected to the entire
story of the Bible. So why is Leviticus important for us today? Alexander says, The
concept of holiness lies at the heart of the Pentateuch (Alexander 246). I would
even go a step further and state that holiness lies at the heart of all scripture. Our
holy God desires to dwell close and personal with us and in order for this to be
possible, he has to make us holy. He did this through his Son Jesus. His blood was
able to purify us inside and out, so much so that the Holy Spirit can dwell within us
Grey s Anatomy Observation
Grey s Anatomy is a drama medical show that has been airing on TV since 2005.
The show is based on the surgical unit of Seattle Grace Hospital. Throughout the
show, we have seen characters evolve from interns to residents to fellows and to
attendings and maybe if the character is lucky, they become head of a surgical
department. Characters also develop multiple relationships with their colleagues.
Some of these relationships are appropriate for the work setting like friendships
while some are inappropriate like having a romantic relationship with a colleague.
Although I love Grey s Anatomy and could binge watch it all the time, I believe that
the sexual encounters characters have at the hospital are unrealistic. Grey s Anatomy

Lower ranked characters, like interns, are having romantic relationships with superior
characters such as attendings. We see this in the very first episode of the show.
Meredith Grey, an intern, sleeps with her boss so to speak, Derek Shepard, an
attending. However, they hook up before knowing that either of them work at the
same hospital. In real life people would see this as sleeping with the boss to gain
special treatment such as getting to assist in more surgeries and better their
education. Later in the season, other interns find out that Meredith and Derek have
had sexual encounters and they do believe that she does it so she can assist on
more surgeries. During multiple episodes characters would hook up in the on call
rooms. This is unrealistic because on call rooms are for people who need to sleep
over in case they are needed for an emergency. They are also used for people who
are working a double shift and would like to take a nap on one of their breaks.
Characters in the show always seem to find some free time to hook up in the on
call rooms. Again, this is unrealistic because doctors are always busy, especially
surgeons. It is unlikely that two surgeons that like each other are going to have a bit
of free time at the same time. It is for these reasons why the sexual
Nonindigenous Species
The Great Lakes provide 20% of the world s fresh water source and are one of the
most profitable areas in the world. If we as a species want to benefit from the water
supply we have, The Great Lakes must be protected from threats such as invasive
species, and allowed to flourish. Although there a slough of invasive species, there are
also proper methods for minimizing and dealing with the invasive species and
pollutants in the Great Lakes.
During the last two hundred years, invasive species have altered the Great Lakes
ecosystem Invasions by nonindigenous species are a leading environmental problem
(Sala et al. 2000). Intentional and unintentional introductions of nonindigenous
species are therefore subject to considerable environmental policy and regulation
(Miller and Fabian 2004). . When an environment is altered, the economy, health, and
people around the area are affected Tampering with an environment that is used for
food, water, recreation and business can have great impacts. The environmental and
economic impacts of nonindigenous species has been closely studied, Alien species
are the second leading cause of extinction in the US and cost approximately $120
billion annually. (Crowl et al. 2008). By changing our methods of shipping and
transportation throughout the Lakes, we would be able to cut back on this deficit.
One way that nonindigenous species are introduced to a new ecosystem is through

Hetch Hetchy Dam Valley And The Longest Debate
Between...
Hetch Hetchy Dam The Hetch Hetchy valley is the subject of one of the greatest and
longest debates between conservationists and preservationists. In short,
preservationists look to safe the great Hetch Hetchy valley from being dammed and
flooded, and by doing that they prevent San Francisco people from getting what is
rightfully theirs, the clean water and natural resources of the Hatch Hatchy valley and
the Tuolumne River. Conservationists are on the other hand, they try to use the most
of the Hetch Hetchy valley. Conservationists strongly support the Raker bill that
allows the government of San Francisco to build the dam and provide the clean
water to the city and county of San Francisco. Building the dam and flooding the
Hetch Hetchy valley will destroy a part of the beautiful scenery replacing it with a
lake, but it also tremendously increases the practical use of the Hetch Hetchy
resources: it will provide electric power and the so much need water to the San
Francisco district and will still provide the surrounding irrigating districts with the
normal amount of water, it is the best project to solve San Francisco water
problems considering the price and efficiency of the dam, and in addition it will
also improve the popularity of the Hetch Hetchy and make it more accessible to the
middle class people across the state. The damming and flooding the Hetch Hetchy
valley will resolve the insufficiency of a water supply in San Francisco. Approving
the Raker bill will

Singer has directed several films including X Men and (earlier) Public Access .
Although Public Access was his first film it did not receive significant recognition,
which is why the explosive success of The Usual |Suspects established him as
something of a maverick. This film is predominantly a crime thriller which examines

receptionist if he can use the fax machine. He has the drawing in his hands. This
moment provokes excitement in the audience for it seems that at last, the true
identity of the infamous Keyser Soze is to be revealed. Back at the police station
we see the stumbling Kint collecting his possessions before leaving One watch,

the significance of these words. We have seen these objects before; they are

Cut back to Kujan s office where he is sitting on the desk chatting to another cop.
The camera cuts back to Verbal and watches him leaving. Although we are being

Persuasive Speech
Laugh often, Dream big, and reach for the stars! by Don Williams. Many people
don t like to step out of their comfort zone. Instead they like to stay in their shell
and hid. In my life I like to adventure and step out on something fun, new and
interesting. One thing that I have tried lately is repelling, it is where you use a
rope to pull you down something. In my class we used a rope and our bleachers, it
was great but most people were nervous. Before we were able to do this we went
through the basics and we repelled on a smaller and easier wall. Basics are
important so that we can know what needs to be achieved in the grand scheme of
things. I was able to learn that repelling helps you understand the importance of safety
and the thrill of falling and holdingyour life on one rope. Importance of safety can
help you in repelling with not falling to your death. In repelling you have one rope
that you are pulled with to lower you to the ground. The first things you needto do is
secure you rope to your harness. These two items are what help you to not
completely fall to the ground. One important tip is, what to do to pull yourself to
the ground, you must slowly release from the rope in your hand. After doing this
inside we moved to a more higher and intricate place, where you would really need to
know what you were doing. As did the basic going back first i moved to falling face
first. This was a more complicated and scarier type of repelling. But for me to be able

about every part of it. Going into the retreat, I was nervous. I worried about the
school that I was missing, if I had packed enough, if I was going to like the food, if
I was going to feel a part of the group, etc. But I faced it head on and had an
absolutely incredible experience. Firstly, I really enjoyed not having phones. It was
weird for me to not be able to reach into my pocket to check the time or to check up
on what was happening back in Burlington. It allowed to to really cherish the moment
and focus on spending my time with the nineteen other people that I was with. Each
activity that we did on the retreat was a ton of fun and equally valuable for me, but I
will highlight just my favorites. One of the things that I loved most from the retreat
was the one on one talks. I am someone who doesn t tend to be great at sitting down
with someone and really getting to know them and having deep conversation with
them. When I did so, I loved it more than words could speak. I am a rather
intellectual and thoughtful person, but I don t tend to share those thoughts. I talked
with Lindsey, Cal, Nylah, and Jon Michael. Those conversations were and still are
so special to me. I wish that we had continued to have those randomly assigned deep
talks throughout the year, as they helped me to validate my feelings and to really
connect with individual peer
Essay On Syncope
Introduction: Orthostatic symptoms are common in children and adolescents such
that 15% experience syncope once in their teenage years.1 A comprehensive history,
physical examination, bedside orthostatic testing and an ECG are usually sufficient
for diagnosis combined with prevention measures for postural intolerance and
reassurance being sufficient in most cases.2 4 Many patients with orthostatic
intolerance(OI) have limitations of daily activities with reduced school attendance and
impaired quality of life.5
A subset of children with OI may have an underlying disorder (autoimmune condition,
mitochondrial insufficiency, diabetes mellitus etc.) and thus diagnosis can be elusive
and expensive.6 Syncope is obvious and readily recognized to the extent that patients
are frequently evaluated in an emergency room and office setting. Clinical
characteristics are described in children with syncope but literature is limited in
describing those many patients who present with symptoms other than syncope.7,8
We studied the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of children and
adolescents with OI who had autonomic dysfunction based on head up tilt table test
(HUTT).

Comparing Apple Vs Apple
The smartphone industry is a very up and coming place. In the US, more than 77%
of adults own a smartphone (Smith). There are many different kinds of smartphones.
They can vary in shape, size, color, and brand. Two of the largest brands of
smartphone are Samsung and Apple. They make two of the hottest phones on the
market right now. Just recently Samsung made the Galaxy S8, and Apple came out
with the iPhone8. Both phones are reported to be top of the line. Both being high
end devices have many similarities, but they also have differences that set them far
apart from each other. Let s start off with one big difference between these two
phones, the camera. We re again treated to a solitary 12 megapixel f/1.8 rear
snapper... The Galaxy S8 comes with a 12 megapixel Dual Pixelrear camera
(Spendelow). The difference between the cameras here is that the Galaxy has a
dual camera, whereas the iPhone does not. The iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone X do
have the dual camera if you re willing to spend the extra money. These two phones
also have different camera resolution. The Galaxy s camera resolution is 2960 x
1440 pixels, and the iPhones is 1334 x 750 pixels (Bushnell). Between the two
phones camera resolution, the Galaxy has the iPhone beat. The Samsung s front
facing camera is also a little bit better than the iPhone s. The iPhone s camera is 7
megapixels whereas the Samsungs is 8 megapixels (Kidman). However, the
iPhone has reportedly been seen with warmer colors, helping with the contrast of
pictures. Overall, the Samsung s dual rear camera and 8 megapixels front facing
camera has the iPhone beat. Another big difference between the two phones is the
hardware and internal specs. One main difference between these two phones is the
two kinds of operating systems they use. Samsung uses Android 7.1.1, and the
iPhone uses iOS 11. Two separate systems tailored to the devices needs. They both
are top of the line operating systems and are the most up to date systems you can
use (Kidman). Both operating systems are fine tuned to the use of the consumer
and are both extremely customizable. The iPhone Has a 2GB RAM and uses the A11
Bionic processor, and the Galaxy has a 4GB RAM and uses the octa core Exynos

Cosmopolitanism And The Role Of Diversity In American
Cinema
Cosmopolitanism or the capacity of belonging everywhere has been defined by a high
level of mutual respect for the rights of others and a generalized tolerance of ethnic,
cultural, political and national differences (Buchanan, 2010, p. 99). Beyond the
Kantian, individual definition, some recent sociological and cultural approaches on
the issue suggest that it could be more productive to study it in a situated context and
not as an abstract idea (Glick Schiller and Irving, 2015). Now that the concept is
becoming more relevant to the study of transnational cinemas, it is worth to notice
that this interpretation of filmcosmopolitanism is not necessarily subscribed to the
idea of a neutral cinema, free from local or national perspectives.
In order to analyse the particular case of international film festivals as showcases of
diversity in the Colombian cinema, this paper addresses the ideas of cosmopolitanism

For instance, critical cosmopolitanism, seen within the scope of cultural modes of
mediation emphasizes moments of world openness created out of the encounter of
the local with the global (Delantey, 2006, 27). But the ideas of cosmopolitanism
may also be related to a colonial gaze upon the discovery of the other and here the
postcolonial theory provides a critical overview that questions the univocal idea of
modernity. This perspective opens up the possibility of understanding a
cosmopolitanism from below or diversality (Mignolo, 2000). Beyond a uniform idea
of globalization studies on cultural media industries in Latin America point out to the
idea of mundialization of culture (Ortiz, 2006) an approach recognize the determinant
role of the power relationships among economy, technology and government

Computers have become part of our daily complex lives; we depend heavily on
computers to help break our complicated lives down. Most people now prefer to do
things the digital way and so does companies. Most of trading (buying and selling)

living, there is a need for technology called the operating system to carry out the
activities we require our computers to do. Computers and technology come in
different forms and sizes and due to the capitalistic nature of our economy
everyone is allowed to come up with their own form of computer and even the
technology to run it. In recent years companies have gained interest doing business

The Medieval Feudalism System
Feudalism is a relationship between a lord and his vassals to provide service and
resources for each other. The feudal system emerge as dominant political and social
system in medieval Europe, because it provided the vassals with security by their
lords.
In one instance, The fiscal burdens of feudalism took any form deemed suitable by
the lords: payments in cash, in kind, in labor services, or in military services
(Goldsmith). After the Vikings raided many homes and cities, many people didn t
have much money to protect themselves. To ensure protection, they find lords who
are able to protect them. In return, the vassals do military service, pay taxes, and do
labor for their lords. However, while the lower class are working hard to benefit the
king, they don t gain anything from the king or their lords. For example, if the king

warfare and lack of a strong central government forced the nobility to build strong

strong enough to protect them, then the vassals will go to find new lords that will
have military power that will protect them. This is when loyalty to the lord and
generosity comes into play. Also, chivalry is significant in the feudal society. If the
king or the lord are not courageous, loyalty and generous, then it will become a

Multiculturalism In Australia In The 1970 s
Post Second World War Australia was a very traditional society. In the 1960 s to the
1970 s, tradition began to change. Just like any western country, Australia entered a
period of liberalisation in politics, fashion, gender roles and religion/beliefs. The
Vietnam War had helped shape a modern society that could question its government s
actions and choices to try change the world around it. A vast part of the liberalisation
in Australiawas witnessed by the end of the 70 year old White Australia policy. The
Vietnam War had quite a significant impact on Australia.
Multiculturalism
In 1977 the multiculturalism became a government policy when it was laid down in
a charter. The charter set out the rights of all Australian individuals to equality of
opportunity and cultural identity. The government gave funding and licenses to
foreign radio stations and even started language schools through the week and on

In 1976, after the boat people began arriving in Australia, the Liberal government led

anyone can see till the end shows an almost textbook example of this. Note the
difference between ritardando and rubato. The latter is a whole branch of
musicology and studies the way a performer should increase or decrease the tempo in
certain moments from a musical work. For instance, Chopin s pieces usually require
such approach although he never put down in writing where he wanted to hurry up
and where he wanted to slow down. That s why rubato is one of the most
sophisticated techniques in music and demands a quite considerable musical sense
and talent.
In ВЎВ°Bohemian RhapsodyВЎВ± certain chord progressions are used frequently.
The heavy and looped use of such chord progressions often results in a very
predictable song. For certain listeners this is good, and it even helps them to

boring very quickly, especially if the melody is also predictable. Queen use a very
limited and tasteful use of clichВЁВ¦s, a very nice example of this is Bohemian

The tone and mood of Bohemian Rhapsody varies throughout the song. It begins with
a slow and pitiful chorus that only murmuringly hints of the possible explosion later.

Turner Syndrome, A Rare Medical Disorder
Gonadal Dysgenesis Gonadal Dysgenesis, also known as turner syndrome, is a rare
medical disorder that affects 1 in every 2,500 girls (kidshealth). It is a chromosomal
that occurs when one of the two X chromosomes found in females are missing or is
incomplete. This condition only affects females. Although researches don t know
exactly what cause turner syndrome, they do know that it s a problem with a female
chromosome. Females who are born with Tuner Syndrome are short in height and
effects their sexual development and the ability to have children. Other features of
this condition that can vary among women who have turner syndrome include:
extra skin on the neck, heart defects, puffiness or swelling on the hands and feet,
and/or kidney failure. Turner Syndrome was discovered by Henry H. Turner, MD,
a pioneer endocrinologist. He first discovered the syndrome in 1938 when he wrote
is manuscript describing the syndrome that has his name. Henry Turner described
his initial observations of the Turner syndrome in an interview with R. Palmer
Howard, MD and he said he noticed a pattern of non maturing girls who were shorter
than regular girls and had short necks, and a low hair line. Turner continued to follow
the seven patients, and he later discovers that they responded to an estrogen therapy,
in which helped the teenagers develop breasts, and increase the size of their uterus.

The missapplication of capital investment appraisal techniques * Surveys of capital
budgeting practices in the UK and USA reveal a trend towards the increased use of
more sophisticated investment appraisals requiring the application of discounted cash
flow (DCF) techniques. Several writers, however, have claimed that companies are
underinvesting because they misapply ormisinterpret DCF techniques. * the only
justification we can think of for using the accounting rate of return method is because
top management believe that reported profits have an impact on how financial
markets evaluate a company. This is further reinforced in many companies by linking
management rewards to short term financial accounting measures. Thus a project s
impact on the financial accounting measures used by financial markets would appear
to be a factor that is taken into account within the decision making process. * Dimson
and Marsh (1994) have expressed concern that many UK companies may be using
excessively high discount rates to appraise investments and, as a result, these
companies are in danger of underinvesting. In the USA it has also been alleged that
firms use discount rates to evaluate investment projects that are higher than their
estimated cost of capital (Porter, 1992).

Can Adults Get Acne Essay
Can Adults Get Acne? When when we think of acne, we often imagine an
adolescent. After all, puberty is a common time for acne to appear. We are then led
to believe that once we achieve adulthood, acne can no longer affect us. Yet, that is
not true for everyone. Adult Acne can Impact Anyone Many people regain a clear
complexion once they reach adulthood. Yet, for others acne continues to hold them.
Some people may even experience acne for the first time during their adult years. It
is not unheard of to experience acne in your 30 s, 40 s, and even 50 s. The Rhyme
and Reason behind Adult Acne A majority of adult acne sufferers are women. This is
because of all the hormone fluctuations that occur each month as well as during

Yet, nothing is without its side effects. Many acne aids sell in retail stores across
the country. While they work for some people, they are not effective for everyone
or every situation. Prescription therapies are effective for many acne sufferers.
Yet, they, too, come with their disadvantages. Some people have reported
discomfort from some of the treatments. If discomfort does not get you, the price
tag will. Some treatments cost anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand
dollars. Natural solutions are on the rise these days as well. Essential oils, herbs,
and plant products were used by our ancestors for centuries. They provided natural
solutions to common everyday problems. Acne is one such problem that benefits

Privacy Invasion Of Privacy
Merriam Webster defines ethics as a set of moral principles: a theory or system of
moral values. 1 Much of the information about people is equivalent to what can be
discovered in a phonebook. Phone companies should not have the residential listing in
their phonebooks if privacy was an issue. That statistic alone does not make a
distinction of privacy invasion. The danger of ethical investigations is the instant
cross referencing of other search engine and database information combined with the
perpetrators intent for this information. Accessing GPS features and tags on photos
and internetposts, which can be reversed lookup to some degree, privacy invasion
threats are ever increasing. There are huge problems with inaccurate information, this

Were The Patriots And Loyalists Justified
In the past, while learning about the American Revolution I had always thought of
America as a united front. The war between the Patriots and Loyalists could even be
compared to the war between America and Britain. The Patriots were not justified in
abusing and expelling the Loyalists. In the actions the Patriots took against the
Loyalists, they violated their unalienable rights, these actions also allowed for history
to repeat itself through the civil war in 1861. The Patriots fought for an admirable
cause, as stated in the Declaration of Independence they believed in fighting for the
unalienable rights: that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness
(Ford.153). However, they took these unalienable rights away from the... Show more

In 1861, America entered a war within itself, the American Civil War. Both conflicts
began in a similar fashion. In both situations, a party felt like they were being muffled
by the government. In response to their feelings, both groups of rebels decided that
they could survive on their own. This caused friction within both parties and a
disconnect between the government and those who thoroughly believed in its
practice and the governed and those who believed that there was more that could be
done. While some believed that it was best to see the government through, it is
understandable to see where some might find it more appealing to demand change. It
is interesting to ponder an alternate end to the American Revolution, while an accent
might be nice, we would live in world where even the simplest necessities would be
heavily taxed and America would no longer be a safe haven for those seeking life,
love and the pursuit of happiness, like Thomas Paine stated in Common Sense This
new world hath been the asylum for the persecuted lovers of civil and religious
liberty from every part of Europe (Paine.150). Both groups of people during both
periods of war wanted the best possible outcome for America, unfortunately that was
taken too far when Patriots started abusing Loyalists and expelling them from the
Truth Is Culturally Relative
The quality of being true is related to something clear, without any uncertainty. This
is perfectly summarized by the Greek word for truth is бјЂО»О®ОёОµО№О±
(alГ©theia), from the privative prefix бјЂ (a ), meaning not , and О»О®ОёОµ (
lethe), oblivion , which, as Martin Heidegger (2001) explained by analysing its
etymology, refers to the state of not being hidden . Truthis a cross issue, that embraces
everything related to humans, from the most ordinary aspect of daily life, to the most
deep religious thought. The need to find what is true is part of the human nature, but
as the German philosopher Edmund Husserl (1965) stated, that same nature, which
gave us the need of knowledge, at the same time bound us to subjectivity, limiting our
understanding to judgement and interpretation, thus, truth can only be obtained
gradually, through a never ending task. This process of understanding finds its
ancient roots in Greece, in the VII VI century B.C., when philosophy was born and
the slow loss of universal certainties has started. The very first interest of
philosophers was that to define the concept of Being, a wide notion that embraces
objective and subjective features of reality. Throughout the philosophy of truth,
objectivism and subjectivism lead to the development of the two major approaches to
reality, Relativism and Universalism. One of the first interpretation of truth and
knowledge was given by the sophists, and it finds its primary source in Protagoras

Female Employment And Gender Discrimination
What is female employment and what are the reasons of gender discrimination in
China?
II.Female employment and gender discrimination
Today, employment discrimination in society everywhere. From age discrimination,
education discrimination, gender discrimination, residence discrimination, physical
discrimination, health discrimination, discrimination in marriage and childbearing, to
dialect discrimination, blood type discrimination, wages, employment status and even
under the career choices of discrimination, discrimination in promotion, etc., and is
particularly important the impact of harmful and undoubtedly gender discrimination.
Gender discrimination, also known as sexual discrimination, is any action that
specifically denies opportunities, privileges, or rewards to a person (or a group)
because of gender. The practice of letting a person s gender become a factor when
deciding who receives a job or a promotion, is gender discrimination.
Here are some examples of potentially unlawful sex/gender discrimination that
women, for example, may face: In terms of Hiring/Firing/Promotions, it should be
said that a female applies for a job for which she has experience and excellent
qualifications, but she is not hired because some of the company s long time clients
are more comfortable dealing with men; she is told that she is laid off due to
company cutbacks and reorganization, while men in the same job and with less
seniority than her keep their jobs. She has worked for

A Power system is an connection of generators to load centres. Through H.V.

subsystems: Generation, X mission and Distribution systems. The electric power
demand is Growing and building of new generating units transmission circuits is
becoming difficult because of environmental economic reasons. So, power utilities
are forced to depend on utilization of existing generating units and to load existing
lines close to their heating limits.
In 1980s the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) has introduced a new
technology program known as Flexible AC Transmission System (FATCS).
Idea of program was to increase controllability and optimization of utilization ...

The current has larger values for lower and higher values of excitation. In between,
the current has minimum value corresponding to a particular excitation. The
variations of I with excitation are known as V curves.
For the same mechanical load, the armature current varies with field excitation over
a wide range. When over excited, the motor supplies vars to the grid and when under
excited it absorbs vars from the grid.
Disadvantages of Sync Condensers:
Considerable losses in the motor.
Maintenance cost is high due to rotating component.
At low power rating the cost is high compared to static capacitors method.
As the synchronous equipment is not self starting, so extra excitation equipment is
needed for that purpose.
Hence we opt to use the SVCS instead of Synchronous Condensers.

The Pros And Cons Of Miami Heat
The Miami Heat continue to slide down the standing as of late. Losing 7 of their
last 10 games, they are currently sitting at the 13th spot in the Eastern Conference
division. Rumors are now spreading that they are considering of trading Hassan
Whiteside to the Golden State Warriors with Klay Thompson as a trade piece in a
rumored deal. The Heat was once a dominating force in the league for the past few
years. From 2010 2014, led by the Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and
Chris Bosh, they build the best trio combination in the league. They ve been in the
NBA Finals for four consecutive years and won two championships during those
times. However, James decides to leave the Heat and went back to his hometown,
Cleveland. Since then, Wade and Bosh carried the Heat franchise and lead the team
to playoff appearances but never gone further. And now that Wade leaves the team
and Bosh not cleared to play because of his health condition, the Heat is said to be
looking for a high caliber player to fill in that gap.... Show more content on

According to Blasting News, even if the Warriors are off to a good start, there s a
notion that they will make a shakeup of their roster before the February trade
deadline and a possible trade deal with Heat might happen soon. Trade scenario is
saying that Hassan Whiteside will head West and join the Dub City team while
Klay Thompson will strut his stuff in South Beach with the Heat. The trade will
send huge trembling in the NBA and will definitely be a hot topic in the coming
days but it will truly benefit both teams as per stated in the report. Golden State will
take advantage of Whiteside great inside presence to toughen up their interior
defense which they badly needed since Andrew Bogut left the team last summer. He
can protect the rim, have a good mid range jumper and can give a triple double

Literature Review On Visual Art Education
This literature review is concerned with the effective and engaging way to deliver
visual art lesson to students. This is a significant educational topic because research
suggests that students engagement in the classroom has been distinguished as the
important indicator for students academic success (Harbour, Evanovich, Sweigart,
Hughes, 2015). Errey and Wood (2011) also suggest that the higher the level of
students engagement will result in a better learning outcome. However, many
students have fallen in the category of disengage during their classroom practice,
which also includes art classroom. The existing literature on visual art education
proven that many students in art classroom claimed that they were bored and
showed resistance in their art classes (Pennisi, 2013), they were also not as
enthusiastic about their art project as the teacher (Andrews, 2010). So, the purpose
of this literature review is to discuss several approaches for teachers to effectively
deliver art education in the classroom.
The existing literature on visual art education proven that there is little evidence of
how teaching practice happens in the classroom (Mitchell, 2016). Mitchell (2016)
also argues that although there are several types of research that provide the
important information on the foundation of art educations, there is barely any
information that proves how learning effectively occurs in the art education. This
approach might include building a positive relationship (Keeffe, Lovejoy, Spenser
Jones, Prain, 2013), the usage of technology in the classroom (Patton Buffington,
2016), applying student centered learning (Andrews, 2010).
Student centered Learning
It has been discussed that teacher needs to move away from teacher centered learning
and using student centered learning instead. In this way, instead of being the
commander in the classroom, teacher act as the facilitator and the guide for students,
in which helping students in reaching their desired art projects. It is also necessary
for visual art classroom to provide a condition where different students develop their
own potential abilities (Tomljenovic, 2015). This condition could be achieved by
using student centered teaching strategies, which
Descent From The Cross Analysis
Group 1, Question A
Catalina s masculine behaviors in her autobiography demonstrates how gender was
socially constructed in both Europe and America during the colonial era. One
scene in particular is, Meanwhile, some boys noticed me and surrounded me until,
annoyed, I picked up some rocks and injured one of them (I don t know where
because I didn t see) They arrested me and kept me in jail for one long month until
he healed and they released me, with a little money remaining after my expenses (2).
In this scene she stands her own ground against a group of men with violence rather
than submitting to them or running away. Women during this era were not
expected to defend themselves or fight back. That is more acceptable action for
men to perform. Her violent behavior put her in jail not because she is unjust for
defending herself, but because she struck a man and it was not socially acceptable
for a woman to do so. During this era women were not scene to act violently or hit
men because it was not a norm or an action women for women to do.

In this portrait there are about seven people helping Jesus from the cross after his

Relationship Between Teacher Training And Student...
2. LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1Theoretical review
Meta analytic reviews reveal contradictory results with regard to the relationship
between teacher training and student achievement. Hanushek (1989, 1997; Fehrler et
al., 2009) concluded that there is no strong evidence to suggest that teacher training
and teacher education has a positive effect on student achievement. On the other hand,
Greenwald et.al (1996) and Kane (2013) find a strong relationship between teacher
education and student achievement. Using a narrative synthesis of individual studies,
Wayne and Youngs (2003) argue that students test scores in English, History and
Science do not provide sufficient empirical evidence for drawing conclusions
regarding the nature of the relationship between teachers education and training and
students achievement.
2.1.1Aspects of teacher training and education that affect teacher quality
The government plays a major role in determining the qualification of teachers.
Governments influences teacher quality by setting teacher qualification at a high
level to so as to ensure satisfactory teacher quality while taking into account the
supply of qualified individuals. Minimum qualification requirements for teachers tend
to change over time. Teachers employed in the past may not meet the set
qualifications for new teachers, (UNESCO, 2012, 2014). Thus, the quality of new
teachers entering into the profession from initial training will tends to depend on
several factors including the

CHAPTER THREE RESEARCH METHODOLOGY 3.1 Introduction This chapter comprised of research design, research philosophy, empirical model, operationalization and measurement of variables, target population, sampling design, data collection instruments, data collection procedure and data analysis and presentation. The operational methodology that was used in this study was the before and after basis where data was collected on firms before using venture capital and after using venture capital. (Bueselinck Margnat, 2003) argue that there is no gold standard in impact measurement. 3.2 Research design (Borg Gall, 1983) defined research design as a detailed plan on how a research study will be conducted. It is a plan according to which data is collected to investigate the research hypothesis or question in an economical manner. According to Gall et al (2003) a research design is a plan for collecting and utilizing data so as to obtain the desired information with sufficient precision or so that a hypothesis can be tested properly. It is a framework that guides the collection and analysis of data. A descriptive research design was adopted for this research. According to (Cooper Schindler, 2003), a descriptive study is concerned with finding out the what, where and how of a phenomenon. (Saunder et al, 2003) further assert that descriptive research is used principally to gain a deeper understanding of something. The descriptive research collects data in order to answer questions
  • 3. Essay On Sex Trafficking In North Carolina Polaris rates all 50 states based on ten criterions of laws that are fundamental to warding off human trafficking. The Ten criterions are as follows: sex trafficking provisions, labor trafficking provisions, asset forfeiture, training or human trafficking task force, a lower burden of proof for sex trafficking of minors, human trafficking hotline, safe harbor, victim assistance, access to civil damages and vacating convictions for sex trafficking victims. North Carolina has provisions that cover eight out of the ten categories. North Carolina does not have a human trafficking hotline; additionally, victims do not have access to civil damages. As a result of meeting eight out of the ten criterions, North Carolina is ranked as a Tier 1 state. North Carolina scored 3 more points than it needed to make the bare minimum of the (7+ points) to qualify for Tier 1. Moreover, the Tier 1 designation means that North Carolina has passed enough laws that that adequately fight human trafficking, but should continue to build upon the foundation it already has.... In addition to the interstate bringing in trafficking victims, the coastline is also vulnerable. The ports along the coastline allow for easy unrestricted access into North Carolina. Also, North Carolina has an international airport which makes international sex tourism

Business Torts Ethics And Ethics Business Torts Ethics Business Torts Ethics As a business owner or manager, one must always be aware of potential risks and liabilities, and perform necessary actions to limit or remove those liabilities in their entirety. These foreseeable risks are situations which can subject the owner to different types of torts. Furthermore, beyond just reducing the possible financial and criminal liability, owners have an ethical responsibility to provide an environment free of the risk of damages to their customers. Included in the categories of intentional tort are assault and battery, trespass, intentional infliction of mental distress, and invasion of privacy (Reed et al., 2016). Assault and battery includes the threat of harm, a present ability to carry out the threat, and a harmful or offensive touching of another (Farlex, Inc, 2016). The intruder threatened Sharon and Darryl, was able to carry out the threat at that moment and followed through by physically harming each of them. Trespass involves entering someone s land without their permission (Reed et al., 2016). The intruder forced his way into Sharon s apartment without her consent. Intentional infliction of mental distress is defined by Reed et al. (2016) as a battery to the emotions (p. 284) and usually must be accompanied by physical manifestations. The intruder inflicted distress upon Sharon as evidenced by her screams, and she was physically harmed in the process. Invasion of privacy occurs when one intrudes upon another s solitude, such as an illegal invasion of one s home (Reed et al., 2016). It is clear in this example that the intruder illegally invaded Sharon s home. Based on these definitions, the intruder s act of not only entering the property by force, but further inflicting injury upon Sharon and Darryl makes him liable for

The intent of the original embargo was to prevent the Castro regime from assuming power and to deter foreign investment. American business have much to gain with the removal of the Cuban Embargo. Business opportunities abound in the agriculture market, banking sector, medical field, and construction industries. Mr. Wallace also decided to cut the wages and benefits from skilled employees to help with increasing profits. These skilled employees were then under paid and decided to leave the company only to be replaced with younger workers with less experience. The employee turnover rate ended up causing the company more money in the long run. Another issue in this case came from Jane Wallace herself. She gave full managerial rights to her son at full capacity regardless of the doubts and fears she had. William Wallace did not have the managementexperience to run the family business. • 9. The Laffer Curve, By Mark Koba So, what exactly is the Laffer curve? According to The Laffer Curve:CNBC Explains, by Mark Koba , The Laffer Curve is an economic tax theory that argues that increasing tax rates beyond a specific point would prove to eventually be counter productive to the economy as well as government revenue. The Laffer curve is a special graph that depicts the relationship between a government s taxrate as a whole as well as the number of tax revenue it receives. According to Laffer Curve Center s article, the Laffer curve is one of the large theoretical constructs of the supply side of economics. They also go deeper as to say that in simplicity, the Laffer Curve illustrate a picture of the trade of that dwells between tax rates and the total tax... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The response to revenue to a tax rate change will be reflected on depending on what the tax system is in place at that specific moment as well as the time period, the movement of it inside the underground activities, the levels of tax rate that is already in place, the prevalence of legal and accounting driven tax loopholes, and the proclivities of the productive factor. When analyzing the concepts of the Laffer Curve it is detrimental to understand all of the aspects that make up the Laffer curve. When analyzing it is simple to point to the idea that if there are no taxes, then there will be no income for the government revenue. However, one question remains whenever the government decides to set a high tax. What affect will this high tax have on the governments revenue? Naturally I assumed that if the government took the action of implementing a higher tax in their system, then this would mean that they would receive a higher a revenue from the people. I was wrong in this sort of thinking, because this is generally not what happens. I have come to find out through research from the article Exploring the Laffer Curve: Behavioral Responses to TaxationBy: Samuel Kazman that whenever the government sets a high tax on the people, the causes a sense of reluctance in them to pay the taxes. No one is willing to give a large portion of their income to the government, and if they were forced to then this would cause for them to
  • 10. Similarities Between Buddhism And Buddhism Buddhism, like other world religions, is not one homogeneous grouping of like minded devotees adhering to one school of thought. Just as Christianity has its Catholics and Protestants, and Islam its Sunnis and Shiites, Buddhism is also comprised of various schools and sects. Some scholars separate Buddhist schools into geographical groupings, such as Southern, Eastern and Northern traditions, whereas some prefer to focus on a more tradition specific delineation, such as Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana Buddhism(Cousins 1998, p. 370; Buddhism 2015 ). All traditions accept the fundamental Buddhist doctines of Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, anatta (absence of soul) and karma (causation), but differ on other significant aspects. This essay will compare and contrast two Buddhist traditions, the Therevada Buddhism of Sri Lanka, and Mahayana Buddhism of China. Theravada Buddhism can also be characterised as representative of the Southern tradition of Buddhism, whereas Mahayana is of the Eastern tradition. This essay will also address how these particular types of Buddhism developed in their respective countries. Prior to the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka in 247 BCE, the cultural environment was characterised by a mix of indigenous (veddha) and Aryan beliefs, influenced by elements of mainland Indian culture (Perera 2013). It was the Indian Emperor Asoka who sent his son, Mahinda, to introduce Buddhism to the Sri Lankan king (Robinson, Johnson Bhikku 2005, p.

MCA was born on August 5th, 1964 in Manhattan, where he continued to live throughout most of his life. Adam Yauch taught himself bass in high school and started the Beastie Boys as a punk rock band with Mike Diamond and former members John Berry on Guitar, and Kate Schellenbach on drums. The band released their first album, Licensed to Ill, on November 11, 1986 with hit songs such as Brass Monkey and Fight for Your Right . The album became the first rap album to reach Number One, and sold over 9 million copies in the U.S.. Following Licensed to Ill, the Beastie Boys released Paul s Boutique in 1989, which was critically considered to be a masterpiece, being compared to Pet Sounds and Dark Side of the Moon. These encounters include either living through the experience first hand or the experience being conveyed by another person. Our perception weeds out main ideas from those experiences deeming them realistic and if so labels them truths. However, our perception of the obtained truthfrom those experiences is not always credible because as a recipient we are restricted to the amount of experience we can retain. Meaning the perceptions of the labeled truths is a result of our translationof incomplete experiences into new perception resulting from what he or she could retain from the original experience. Due our limitations as recipients, which cause truth to vary among us, discovering truth becomes impossible because of its constant changes. When we encounter experiences through person to person, alterations occur at times on purpose by the conveyor on the experience so the translation by the recipient can result in the closest experience to the experience retained by the conveyor. These changes highlight the retained ideas in the experience, allowing it to remain a truth, O Brien explains, when you go to tell about it, there is always that surreal seemingness, which makes the story untrue, but which in fact represents the hard and exact truth as it seemed (O Brien 442). As a recipient of an experience one is bound by only the translation of the experience one can retain, so when the conveyor tells his or her experience/story. The conveyor emphasizes the experience retained causing the alterations in the experience but this allows the recipient to translate a truth similar to the conveyor. • 14. What Is Poe A Genius Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19, 1809, and died October 7, 1849; he lived only forty years, but during his brief lifetime, he made a permanent place for himself in American literature and also in world literature. A few facts about Poe s life are indisputable, but, unfortunately, almost everything else about Poe s life has been falsified, romanticized, slanderously distorted, or subjected to grotesque Freudian interpretations. Poe, it has been said at various times, was a manic depressive, a dope addict, an epileptic, and an alcoholic; moreover, it has been whispered that he was syphilitic, that he was impotent, and that he fathered at least one illegitimate child. Hardly any of Poe s biographers have been content to write a straight account... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Poe and his foster father often quarreled during his adolescence and as soon as he was able to leave home, Poe enrolled at the University of Virginia. While he was there, he earned a good academic record, but Mr. Allan never allowed him the means to live in the style his social status demanded. When Poe tried to keep up with his high living classmates, he incurred so many gambling debts that the parsimonious Mr. Allan prevented his returning for a second year of study. Unhappy at home, Poe got money somehow (probably from Mrs. Allan) and went to Boston, where he arranged for publication of his first volume of poetry, Tamerlane and Other Poems (1827). He then joined the army. Two years later, when he was a sergeant major, he received a discharge to enter West Point, to which he was admitted with Mr. Allan s help. Again, however, he felt frustrated because of the paltry allowance which his foster father doled out to him, so he arranged to be court martialed and

I think that the silhouette is in the corner because that isn t what we are supposed to see. Even though this image shows enjoyment and excitement as the feeling you get from coca cola, this isn t what they are selling. In the bottom left hand corner as well there is a small logo saying, dance . The writing in this caption is in much the same style as the coca cola logo so this and the red could both be the first signs of coca cola. The second clip is of a hand on a keyboard. The man is the central figure, even though his face is blurred, because he represents the action and energy made by the feeling you get from a coca cola. In the background is a drinks vending machine with the coca cola logo on the side. This is to remind you that he gets the feeling from coca cola and also plays a part in the anchorage of the whole advert. The fourth extract is of three coke bottles dancing. This implies that the coca cola has so much energy in it, the bottles even move themselves. This is an insight into the effect it has on us. This is also when the caption dance disappears. This could be because the writing on the coke bottles is similar to the writing in the caption and so this shows the connection between action and movement (dance) and coca cola. The cola bottle also moves to the beat of the backing track. The fifth part is of a night gowned dancer in an attic bedroom. The main colour in this one is yellow which, to me, represents warmth, sunshine and summer. This could be to show that coca cola is best drunk when it is summer and it is really hot weather. Also with the clip being in a bedroom it shows that coca cola can wake you up even if you are sleepy at the end of the day and it puts you on a high. The aspect of being on a high is also shown because it is shot in an attic, which is obviously very high up in a house. This sixth clip shows

Criricism of Wilkie Collins’ Woman in White Essay Criricism of Wilkie Collins Woman in White To Mr. Collins belongs the credit of having introduced into fiction those most mysterious of mysteries, the mysteries which are at our own doors. So said Henry James in an unsigned review of another author s work. But his view was certainly not shared by all those who cast their opinions into the fray. An unsigned review in the Saturday Review said of Collins work, Estimated by the standard of great novels, the Woman in Whiteis nowhere. Playing on Collins own comparisons to a court trial this reviewer wrote, They are not staring at the spectators, or, if they are, they are staring listlessly and vacantly, like witnesses who are waiting to be called before the court, and have nothing to do until their turn arrives. Of course many positive critiques of the novel existed. One was written as a direct reaction to the Saturday Review piece. This anonymous reviewer of the Spectator cried out , The vivid and manifold emotions with which we read her story are still fresh in our memory, and we retain a lively sense of the personality of every actor in it from Marian and Laura down to the old parish clerk. Yet we are told that the author `does not attempt to paint character or passion. He is not in the least imaginative! Mashallah! This critic ends his or her review stating, To sneer at the best thing of its kind because it is not something else is a convenient mode of detraction, and, when done with assurance and a certain degree of literary tact, it may pass with the unwary for authoritative criticism; but it seems a pitiful thing after all when once the trick of it has been discovered. And once again a middle road emerged from between the two extreme views. An unsigned in The Times praised Collins, but with restraint. We must be content to ask, in the name of
  • 18. The Theory Of The Drive Theory Drive Theory The Drive theory was so named by Freud because of its emphasis on libidinal and aggressive drives, which Freud considers to be the two principal motivating forces of human behavior, and which barks for attention and expression. A child at birth is in a state of primary narcissism, and it clamors to have its needs met irrespective of the comforts of others. The erogenous zones (mouth, anus and genitals) are the avenues through which the energies are directed, and by stimulating these areas, the child finds pleasure. If energies are not adequately released, anxiety results, but as the child develops, it learns to regulate such forces for its ultimate good and that of others. If human beings functioned solely from the Id s control center, there would be absolute chaos, since people will do whatever they wish, whenever they wish, and wherever they wish, irrespective of consequences. The Ego lives in both the conscious and the unconscious mind, and it represent the I of the individual. The Ego functions like a good citizen, and acts as an intermediary between the Id, the superego, and the external environment, to procure socially acceptable behavior. The ego coordinates volition, and its main business is to protect self. It also regulates and suppresses the inordinate promptings of the Id through reasoning and compromises, and is capable of delaying gratification for the future. As maturation ensues, the ego expands, while the id shrinks, except in special cases where the individual is fixated at the infantile level. Conditioned on the examination that people with strong egos often have weak ids and superegos, Freud concludes that the relative distribution of energy among these forces affects personality directly. Top of Form Bottom of Form The superego is the conscience that grows out of parental prohibitions, and it represents the moral component of the personality. Through the diminution of early narcissism, when the child begins to acknowledge its limits, the superego imposes itself as a kind of watchdog over the ego, making sure that the

There was lots of abuse and not so much fun. This all led to a place called Mercy Ministries and that is where this journey begins. Mercy is a residential treatment facility. I was introduced to the idea of Mercy in December of 2012, and I was accepted into the program in May of 2013. My entrance date was June 3, 2013. The first thought I had was when am I going to leave this hellish place. Six months had past and I received the month of which was going to be my graduation. I could taste the finish line, I had three months left, I was going to graduate in March. I had no idea what day it was going to be but I knew that I was going to leave with the victory that God had given me. The next 3 months would be spent looking for a place of residence I could call home. So I called my best friend. So when I get out of this place, can I stay with you? Sure, how long do you think you will stay? I will be home for good, so how long do you want me for? If forever works for you, I would be totally fine having you for that long. As I hung up the phone with my best friend, I knew everything would be okay. Life was going to work itself out and I was going to be safe when I went home. The time went on and March got closer, my time had finally come, A DATE!! March 24, 2014, that is the day I would graduate. More phone calls with my best friend ensured me that I
  • 20. Book Of Levius Research Paper The book of Leviticus has always seemed to be a disconnected, confusing, and thank God we do not have to book in the Bible for me. Whether the command was what to wear, forbidden foods to eat, how to harvest the land or what sacrifice to make and when, the text had left me disinterested. However, this week I found myself captivated by the text and class readings. First of all, the big picture of the book of Leviticus was brought to light. Specifically, in order for a Holy Godto dwell with his people, they would have to become holy and he alone is the one who makes them holy. In fact, the closer they came to God the more holy they would need to be. Desmond Alexander said it this way, For the Israelites to enjoy a close and meaningful relationship... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can even be pictured through the arrangement of the Tabernacle. The further in, the more holy it becomes. So much so, that only the High Priest may enter the Holy of Holies. Secondly, many others and I have approached Leviticus from a logical and modern perspective, which creates confusion. However, Mary Douglas points out the overwhelming analogical emphasis of the entire book. She says, only when we take, the whole system of analogies in which it nests will [we] show how it is to be read (Douglas 20). In other words, every aspect of the book is connected intricately together to underscore the holiness of God. Furthermore, Douglas points out that, Bible students have to choose between accepting the muddle made by imposing a Western linear reading upon an archaic text, or trying to read the book through its own literary conventions (Douglas 51). This opens up a clearer new view of Leviticus where the entire sacrificial system is connected to the entire story of the Bible. So why is Leviticus important for us today? Alexander says, The concept of holiness lies at the heart of the Pentateuch (Alexander 246). I would even go a step further and state that holiness lies at the heart of all scripture. Our holy God desires to dwell close and personal with us and in order for this to be possible, he has to make us holy. He did this through his Son Jesus. His blood was able to purify us inside and out, so much so that the Holy Spirit can dwell within us

Throughout the show, we have seen characters evolve from interns to residents to fellows and to attendings and maybe if the character is lucky, they become head of a surgical department. Characters also develop multiple relationships with their colleagues. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lower ranked characters, like interns, are having romantic relationships with superior characters such as attendings. We see this in the very first episode of the show. Meredith Grey, an intern, sleeps with her boss so to speak, Derek Shepard, an attending. However, they hook up before knowing that either of them work at the same hospital. In real life people would see this as sleeping with the boss to gain special treatment such as getting to assist in more surgeries and better their education. Later in the season, other interns find out that Meredith and Derek have had sexual encounters and they do believe that she does it so she can assist on more surgeries. During multiple episodes characters would hook up in the on call rooms. This is unrealistic because on call rooms are for people who need to sleep over in case they are needed for an emergency. They are also used for people who are working a double shift and would like to take a nap on one of their breaks. Characters in the show always seem to find some free time to hook up in the on call rooms. Again, this is unrealistic because doctors are always busy, especially surgeons. It is unlikely that two surgeons that like each other are going to have a bit of free time at the same time. It is for these reasons why the sexual

Hetch Hetchy Dam The Hetch Hetchy valley is the subject of one of the greatest and longest debates between conservationists and preservationists. Conservationists are on the other hand, they try to use the most of the Hetch Hetchy valley. Conservationists strongly support the Raker bill that allows the government of San Francisco to build the dam and provide the clean water to the city and county of San Francisco. Building the dam and flooding the Hetch Hetchy valley will destroy a part of the beautiful scenery replacing it with a lake, but it also tremendously increases the practical use of the Hetch Hetchy resources: it will provide electric power and the so much need water to the San Francisco district and will still provide the surrounding irrigating districts with the normal amount of water, it is the best project to solve San Francisco water problems considering the price and efficiency of the dam, and in addition it will also improve the popularity of the Hetch Hetchy and make it more accessible to the middle class people across the state. In my life I like to adventure and step out on something fun, new and interesting. One thing that I have tried lately is repelling, it is where you use a rope to pull you down something. In my class we used a rope and our bleachers, it was great but most people were nervous. Before we were able to do this we went through the basics and we repelled on a smaller and easier wall. Basics are important so that we can know what needs to be achieved in the grand scheme of things. I was able to learn that repelling helps you understand the importance of safety and the thrill of falling and holdingyour life on one rope. Importance of safety can help you in repelling with not falling to your death. In repelling you have one rope that you are pulled with to lower you to the ground. The first things you needto do is secure you rope to your harness. These two items are what help you to not completely fall to the ground. One important tip is, what to do to pull yourself to the ground, you must slowly release from the rope in your hand. After doing this inside we moved to a more higher and intricate place, where you would really need to know what you were doing. As did the basic going back first i moved to falling face first. This was a more complicated and scarier type of repelling. But for me to be able to do

Beyond the Kantian, individual definition, some recent sociological and cultural approaches on the issue suggest that it could be more productive to study it in a situated context and not as an abstract idea (Glick Schiller and Irving, 2015). Now that the concept is becoming more relevant to the study of transnational cinemas, it is worth to notice that this interpretation of filmcosmopolitanism is not necessarily subscribed to the idea of a neutral cinema, free from local or national perspectives. Bohemian Rhapsody was written in 1975 by the British rock band Queen, whose lead singer Freddie Mercury died in 1991 from AIDS. The song is one of the worldВЎВЇs most popular all time songs. The latter is a whole branch of musicology and studies the way a performer should increase or decrease the tempo in certain moments from a musical work. For instance, Chopin s pieces usually require such approach although he never put down in writing where he wanted to hurry up and where he wanted to slow down. That s why rubato is one of the most sophisticated techniques in music and demands a quite considerable musical sense and talent. In ВЎВ°Bohemian RhapsodyВЎВ± certain chord progressions are used frequently. The heavy and looped use of such chord progressions often results in a very predictable song. For certain listeners this is good, and it even helps them to memorize the piece. For many others, though, the clichВЁВ¦ based songs get boring very quickly, especially if the melody is also predictable. Queen use a very limited and tasteful use of clichВЁВ¦s, a very nice example of this is Bohemian Rhapsody and the clichВЁВ¦s in the verses. It is a chromosomal that occurs when one of the two X chromosomes found in females are missing or is incomplete. This condition only affects females. Although researches don t know exactly what cause turner syndrome, they do know that it s a problem with a female chromosome. Females who are born with Tuner Syndrome are short in height and effects their sexual development and the ability to have children. Other features of this condition that can vary among women who have turner syndrome include: extra skin on the neck, heart defects, puffiness or swelling on the hands and feet, and/or kidney failure. Turner Syndrome was discovered by Henry H. Turner, MD, a pioneer endocrinologist. He first discovered the syndrome in 1938 when he wrote is manuscript describing the syndrome that has his name. Henry Turner described his initial observations of the Turner syndrome in an interview with R. Palmer Howard, MD and he said he noticed a pattern of non maturing girls who were shorter than regular girls and had short necks, and a low hair line. Turner continued to follow the seven patients, and he later discovers that they responded to an estrogen therapy, in which helped the teenagers develop breasts, and increase the size of their uterus. Some of the symptoms of females who are born with Turner syndrome are shorter than average,

The war between the Patriots and Loyalists could even be compared to the war between America and Britain. The Patriots were not justified in abusing and expelling the Loyalists. In the actions the Patriots took against the Loyalists, they violated their unalienable rights, these actions also allowed for history to repeat itself through the civil war in 1861. Both conflicts began in a similar fashion. In both situations, a party felt like they were being muffled by the government. In response to their feelings, both groups of rebels decided that they could survive on their own. This caused friction within both parties and a disconnect between the government and those who thoroughly believed in its practice and the governed and those who believed that there was more that could be done. While some believed that it was best to see the government through, it is understandable to see where some might find it more appealing to demand change. This process of understanding finds its ancient roots in Greece, in the VII VI century B.C., when philosophy was born and the slow loss of universal certainties has started. The very first interest of philosophers was that to define the concept of Being, a wide notion that embraces objective and subjective features of reality. Throughout the philosophy of truth, objectivism and subjectivism lead to the development of the two major approaches to reality, Relativism and Universalism. • 47. Literature Review On Visual Art Education This literature review is concerned with the effective and engaging way to deliver visual art lesson to students. This is a significant educational topic because research suggests that students engagement in the classroom has been distinguished as the important indicator for students academic success (Harbour, Evanovich, Sweigart, Hughes, 2015). Errey and Wood (2011) also suggest that the higher the level of students engagement will result in a better learning outcome. However, many students have fallen in the category of disengage during their classroom practice, which also includes art classroom. The existing literature on visual art education proven that many students in art classroom claimed that they were bored and showed resistance in their art classes (Pennisi, 2013), they were also not as enthusiastic about their art project as the teacher (Andrews, 2010). So, the purpose of this literature review is to discuss several approaches for teachers to effectively deliver art education in the classroom. The existing literature on visual art education proven that there is little evidence of how teaching practice happens in the classroom (Mitchell, 2016). Mitchell (2016) also argues that although there are several types of research that provide the important information on the foundation of art educations, there is barely any information that proves how learning effectively occurs in the art education. This approach might include building a positive relationship (Keeffe, Lovejoy, Spenser Jones, Prain, 2013), the usage of technology in the classroom (Patton Buffington, 2016), applying student centered learning (Andrews, 2010). Student centered Learning It has been discussed that teacher needs to move away from teacher centered learning and using student centered learning instead. In this way, instead of being the commander in the classroom, teacher act as the facilitator and the guide for students, in which helping students in reaching their desired art projects. It is also necessary for visual art classroom to provide a condition where different students develop their own potential abilities (Tomljenovic, 2015). This condition could be achieved by using student centered teaching strategies, which

  • 50. Relationship Between Teacher Training And Student... 2. LITERATURE REVIEW 2.1Theoretical review Meta analytic reviews reveal contradictory results with regard to the relationship between teacher training and student achievement. Hanushek (1989, 1997; Fehrler et al., 2009) concluded that there is no strong evidence to suggest that teacher training and teacher education has a positive effect on student achievement. On the other hand, Greenwald et.al (1996) and Kane (2013) find a strong relationship between teacher education and student achievement. Using a narrative synthesis of individual studies, Wayne and Youngs (2003) argue that students test scores in English, History and Science do not provide sufficient empirical evidence for drawing conclusions regarding the nature of the relationship between teachers education and training and students achievement. 2.1.1Aspects of teacher training and education that affect teacher quality The government plays a major role in determining the qualification of teachers. Governments influences teacher quality by setting teacher qualification at a high level to so as to ensure satisfactory teacher quality while taking into account the supply of qualified individuals. Minimum qualification requirements for teachers tend to change over time. Teachers employed in the past may not meet the set qualifications for new teachers, (UNESCO, 2012, 2014). Thus, the quality of new teachers entering into the profession from initial training will tends to depend on several factors including the
