Factory Farming Benefits
Pushing the Boundaries of Science: Industrial Agriculture
What is Industrial Agriculture? Also known as Factory Farming, Industrial Agriculture is a modern
type of agriculture, which involves high inputs of money, eliminating jobs (as well as creating
pollution) by using pesticides in place of heavy machinery, and a dense population of animals raised
on limited land requiring massive amounts of sustenance. (Sustainabletable.org, Industrial Livestock
Production ) FarmSanctuary.org states that Factory Farms abuse animals and exploit the
environment for profit in order to dominate U.S. food production. Environmentalists and animal
lovers criticize Factory Farms due to the controversy surrounding the treatment of animals and the

In chapter five, Victor Frankenstein expresses his horror: I beheld the wretch the miserable
monster whom I had created...His jaws opened, and he muttered some inarticulate sounds, while
a grin wrinkled his cheeks. He might have spoken, but I did not hear...fearing each sound as if it
were to announce the approach of the demoniacal corpse to which I had so miserably given life.
The creature to whom he has given life now terrifies Victor and makes him regret his decision.
This raises the question: When does science go too far? Like Frankenstein s creation of life,
Factory Farms push the limits of science by attempting to control a set part of nature. Industrial
Agriculture exploits nature for profit which is much like Frankenstein s desire to create life from
dead matter; where the desire to gain is more important than the consequences. Farm animals are
similar to the Creature since they are mistreated for no reason other than being non human. By
detaining animals and making them suffer for the sole means of food production, Agriculturists
become a modern day

How Does Disco Affect Society During The 1970s
This author intends to explore how disco impacts the society during the 1970s. On Saturday nights

To understand disco music and why it was popular in the 1970s to 1980s, one must understand the

Resource Room Teacher Interview Report
My morning interview with a resource room teacher provided me with a wealth of vital
information that will assist me in my future career. As I sat at length and spoke with Mrs. Provost,
asking her questions that revealed the inner workings of her job and the various facets that
accompany it, the same thought kept entering my mind someday this going to be me , and I could

The Failure of Technology in White Noise by Don Delillo...
The Failure of Technology in White Noise by Don Delillo
One particularly unfortunate trait of modern society is our futile attempt to use technology to
immunize ourselves against the fear of death. The failure of technology in this regard is the
general subject of Don Delillo s book White Noise. Throughout this novel, technology is depicted
as the ominous messenger of our common fate, an increasing sense of dread over loss of control
of our lives and the approach of inevitable death in spite of the empty promises of technology. In
this essay I will examine Delillo s portrayal of technology and its role in our society.
The title of Delillo s book, White Noise, reminds one of an electronic static of the sort encountered

of everyday life, with four children around the house and an uneasy sense of normalcy . Delillo,
however, exposes how absurd what we consider to be normal really is in our technology dependent
society and our compulsive desire to have machines save us from ourselves and reaffirm our
personal identities:
In the morning I walked to the bank. I went to the automated teller machine to check my balance. I
inserted my card, entered my secret code, tapped out my request. The figure on the screen roughly
corresponded to my independent estimate, feebly arrived at after long searches through documents,
tormented arithmetic. Waves of relief and gratitude flowed over me. The system had blessed my
life. I felt its support and approval. The system hardware, the mainframe sitting in a locked room in
some distant city. What a pleasing interaction. I sensed that something of deep personal value, but
not money, not that at all, had been authenticated and confirmed (42).
One day an industrial accident occurs and a lethal black chemical cloud descends upon the town.
Jack is forced to stop and fill up his tank as his family attempts to comply with the evacuation

shipments to Japan. This shows how the US is stopping trade with Japan. In other words, the quote

to attack after the United States because the Japanese wanted oil.
A third reason for the attack was a new world order. New world order is an idea where Japan will
rule the entire world. In document C it states, December 1941 Japan attacks Pearl Harbor. Japan
did this because the US moved the Navy took off resources. Also in document B it mentions that
Japan is more interested in seizing all oil fields and the only way to do what they had to do was
by invading the Netherland East Indies and they did after the Pearl Harbor Bombing. A new
world order caused the Japanese to attack because the US expanded the navy and stopped oil

expansion in the Pacific, there were three main reasons: A New World Order, US Oil Embargo,
and US Fleet Expansion. There were many reasons why the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor but

Proposal For Red Bull
Marketing Research Proposal Red Bull
Red Bull is one of the greatest energy drink companies in the world. The iconic Blue and Silver
can has become a symbol for vitality, helping people with work and play. Its catchphrase, Red Bull
gives you wings! is a testament to the sort of imagery energy drinks wish to portray.
The brand Red Bull came in to existence in 1984, with its first product launched in 1987, making
it a pioneer in the global energy drink market. The idea came about to Mr. Dietrich Matechitz
while in Thailand. He noticed managers drinking a beverage called Krating daeng prior to
meetings to stay awake and focused. Upon trying the beverage, he found it to have a relieving
effect on his jet lag. He went on to collaborate with the creator of the drink, Chaleo Yoovidhya, and

In light of this, Red Bull has positioned itself as a drink for youths, and with the right promotional
mix, these could lead to an increase in sales.
In order to make its brand relate to the masses of a country, Red Bull will produce labels in the
respective country s language. With this, a higher cost is incurred when launching the drink in
different geographic areas. Nevertheless, Red Bull recognizes the importance of communicating its
brand identity as this would bring about an increase in brand equity and thus, sales revenue in the
future.
With the advancement of social media and technological platforms, Red Bull has had to improve its
communication strategies and promotional tools to be more effective and relevant. These help to
advertise and promote the product, therefore providing a new way of communicating with the
consumers. Promotional tools such as social media outlets like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

Lady Macbeth Monologue
Lady Macbeth first appears in act 1 scene 5. She enters with a soliloquy; reading a letter that she
has received from Macbeth.
With the use of superlatives Macbeth refers to Lady Macbeth at the start of his letter as his dearest
partner of greatness. She reads the letter aloud and is astounded by what it has to say. The first
thing she says after finishing the letter is that Macbeth has already sustained the titles of Thane of
Glamis and Thane of Cawdor and shalt be what thou art promis d. She knows two of the
prophesies have come true and she will make sure that the third one does likewise. This indicates to
us that Lady Macbeth is very sure of herself; she is presented as having manly qualities such as
leadership and determination.

Comparing Don T Give Up The Fight And Making Sarah Cry
The story Don t give up the fight and the poem Making sarah cry have the same theme because
they both have the theme of courage. Both have courage because in making Sarah cry the boy

sarah. In the story don t give up the fight Ava had to have courage to stay on the track team even
though nobody wanted her there .They are different because they both show courage, but they
show it in totally different ways like their social implication. Like, Ava helped herself and sarah
helped of her bullies. The boy in making Sarah cry had to stand up to peer pressure and in don t
give up the fight the girl had to show the boys what she is made of. In the story Don t give up the
Fight the theme is courage. I know this because Ava has to keep racing after she is getting
bullied. My other reason is that ava has to stand up to the boys and coach that try to put her down

is that ava has her friend to talk to but she didn t because she felt like nobody would understand.

The Work Of Louis Pasteur
In the midst of the Industrial Revolution, the son of leather tanners provided the clarity needed to
understand the behavior of microbes and applied this understanding to improve people s daily life.
This man, Louis Pasteur, succeeded in his medical investigations and continued to pursue his
interest, despite objections given to him by his peers. The timeless work of Louis Pasteurin the areas
of chemistry and microbiologyprovided the necessary foundation for the scientific study of
immunology and stressed the importance of possessing a thorough understanding of the procedures
involved in medical treatment.
Background
On December 27, 1822, Louis Pasteur was born to a family of leather tanners (Lamont, Cohn). As
a child, Pasteur showed no scientific potential whatsoever (Cohn). However, he did have a talent
for art, and it is possible that this particular interest could have influenced his appreciation for
detail in his later years (Lamont). Many of his teachers suggested that he follow in his father s
footsteps. As time progressed, Pasteur developed an interest in the field of science. Starting from
this point in his life, Pasteur demonstrated the characteristic of rising above his expectations. Even
though he was the son of a leather tanner, Pasteur did not give up and live a simple life. Through
many strenuous years of hard work supplemented with encouragement from his father, Pasteur
began to study at the French University. It is here, as Cohn notes, that Pasteur

Jez Butterworth s Jerusalem creates a comic vision focusing on the ambiguities, turmoil and

How Did Aristotle Contribute To Logic
Noah Wright
Professor Bruno
Intro to Logic
16 September 2017
Aristotle and Gottlob Frege
Throughout the history of human civilization, logic has played an important role in the
development of thought and the innovation of new technological discoveries. Without logic, there
would be no reasonable or coherent way of thinking. Furthermore, there would be no person
capable of coding a program today. Two important logicians who have contributed a great amount to
the study of logic are Aristotle and Gottlob Frege. Aristotle is one of the many great ancient
Greek philosophers who are mentioned throughout many textbooks. He was a student of the Plato
(Aristocles) and a teacher to Alexander the Great. He has contributed to the studies of science,
philosophy, and logic. Although he may have made vital contributions to the study of logic, his
ideals have been reversed or significantly dispelled by the ideology of modern logic. Two men
who showed the limitations of Aristotle s logic are Gottlob Frege and Bertrand Russell. His
contributions to logic vary in many different sections of the study. However, one of his most
significant contributions is the notion of syllogisms. One of Aristotle s contributions that is heavily
taught in logic classes today is syllogisms. Syllogism, in layman s terms, is an argument with two
premises and a conclusion. It is valid and deductive, basically meaning that it started out as a
generalization but condensed to a specification of an idea. To

Archetypes Carl Jung
Carl Jung was a Swiss innovator progressing various theories of the unconscious mind. The Swiss
psychotherapist based his work on Sigmund Freud s perspectives and beliefs of the unconscious
mind. Carl Jung had deducted that a human s unconscious personality could not have started in the

unconscious were shared to all individuals within a society was assumed by Jung. This mental
imagery were claimed as Archetypes by Jung (hence the term Jungian archetypes ) due to the
images being ubiquitous and all inclusive to humans. A famous example of a Jungian archetype is

Poverty Is Not A Task Of Charity Essay
INTRODUCTION
Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity; it is an act of justice. Like slavery and Apartheid,
poverty is not natural. It is man made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of
human beings. Sometimes it falls on generation to be great. You can be that great generation. Let
your greatness blossom. Nelson Mandela. Poverty at its worst involves hunger leading to
starvation, inadequate shelter or housing and lack of clothing. Justice is the idea that all people,
everywhere in the world, have the right to a life of dignity. This means a life free from poverty,
violence, discrimination or human rights violations. A world where justice exists in a world
where all people are included in a society and all people can claim their rights to education,
shelter, and health care regardless of how poor or rich they are. Whenever we speak of poverty
we must speak of injustice. But more than that, we must speak of HOPE. To give hope we must
have it and if we are to build hope in others it will require something of humanity. It is found in
our actions. Poverty is a state of deprivation, or a lock of the usual or socially acceptable amount
of money or material possessions.
The most common measure of poverty in the U.S is the poverty threshold set by the U.S
government. Almost half of the world over three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day. The

many people to begin cleaning up the mess, and they got sick. There is still a lot of damage
there. It s very scary to know that an accident like this could occur again.A large area was affected
by the explosion of Chernobyl. The bigger main areas that were really affected were Ukraine, parts
of Russia, Europe, and Belarus. Ukraine was where the Chernobyl power plant was located so that
was the area that was really affected. The gases spread to Russia, Europe and Belarus. It covered
only most of Russia and Ukraine. It wrecked over 63,000 square miles and was mostly located in
rural areas. In Ukraine there were gas exposures, devoured properties, and fire exposure. The fire
exposure was what was still burning after the explosion, and a lot was fires that affected people.
There were a lot of lapland animals dead from the outcome of the explosion, that were breathing in
the gases and chemicals or that got injured from the explosion who have died. The gas exposure is

The Importance Of Forensic Science In Criminal Justice
In recent decades, there has been wide controversy over forensic science in criminal justice and
it s credibility. Criminal justice system relies on forensic evidence, which includes bite mark and
hair analysis, to convict criminals. People began questioning the legitimacy when the FBI
admitted to the flaws in hair analysis in hundreds of cases that occurred over decades before the
2000s. Not only those cases but many others in which the evidence was not scientific legitimate.
According to The National Registry of Exonerations, more than 2,000 people have been
exonerated in recent decades. More than 400 of those, were because of misleading or flawed
evidence. This all has proven that these methods used for hundreds and thousands of years need to
be fixed and changed. In the state of Texas for example, they have a reorganized commission that
is working to improve forensic sciencewithin the state. The issue is also the prosecutors and many
in the criminal justicesystem. They defend these methods because of its long standing practice.
Which has already proven, that it is not credible in proving someone s innocence and it has cost
many of people s lives.
Forensic Science Credibility Research has shown that in many cases the evidence is not credible.
Brandon Garrett, who is a member of the advisory board of the National Registry of Exonerations,
wrote: Traditional forensics put these people in prison in the first place. People came in and said,

The Pros And Cons Of Online Communities
ia a specific site and necessarily need an internet connection. An online community can act as an
information system where members can post, comment on discussions, give advice or

forums, e mail lists and discussion boards. People may also join online communities through
video games, blogs and virtual worlds. Although teens have embraced countless ways of
communicating with people due to their extreme engagement with social media. The biggest
difference between social networks and online communities is that communities form out of
groups of people from all different backgrounds and histories (Boyad D, 2014). From a social
and anthropological standpoint, these are the most interesting to study because they consist of
people who probably have never met yet are held together by a common interest or goal. People
join online communities for all sorts of reasons perhaps they share a preference for similar things

IV. ANALYSIS BY OPTION
1. Framework of Authorities, Option 1
a. Statutory Authority
The general rule, IRC В§ 1001, states that any gain, being any proceeds received in excess of the
property s adjusted basis, from the sale of an asset shall be treated as income and subject to tax. IRC
В§ 1011 and IRC В§ 1012 further clarify the treatment of the gain by further defining an adjusted
basis, defining it as the original cost of the asset net any related capital expenditures. However, the
law does provide an exception whereby any gains from the sale of an asset may be deferred.
This exception, codified in IRC В§ 1031, allows taxpayers to defer the recognition of gains
resulting from the exchange of one property for another property of similar characteristics. For an
exchange to qualify, IRC В§ 1031 states the following tests must be met.
Property currently held must be sold
A new property of like kind must be identified within forty five days
The selected property must be purchased within one hundred and eighty days of the sale of the
original property
The property must be held for productive use or investment

Promoting A Child s Safety Is The Main Goal Of Any Parent
Vaccinating Youth
Helping maintain a child s safety is the main goal of any parent. Having children become
vaccinated can allow the child to be protected from many common illnesses. Common
vaccinations that most children are able to get at a young age can help cure problems that occur
both early on and later in life. With these vaccinations, science has come great ways to keeping
children safe and happy. Although there are risks for children who are receiving them, having a
child vaccinated is the best way to keep children from becoming very ill.
Many common contagious diseases like measles and diphtheria posed serious health threats,
especially in highly populated urban environments. Thanks to scientific breakthroughs and effective
campaigns to promote childhood vaccination, these diseases were nearly eradicated in the Western
hemisphere by the late 1990s (Rabinowitz et al. 1). Each of these diseases can be prevented by a
vaccination given throughout childhood.
Measles, for example, is a highly contagious rash that spreads across the body and can cause
extremely high temperatures with symptoms similar to those of a common cold. Children can be
vaccinated any time from twelve months to twelve years of age. For the first dose, it is
recommended for children from ages twelve to fifteen months (CDC). This vaccination prevents
children from obtaining measles early on in life. Diphtheria is similar to measles for both are
treated very young in age.

study focuses on the mass enterprising activities of a world s leading consumer electronics and
software company, i.e. Apple Inc. and how, through its technologically advanced abilities and
electronic sharpness, it has propelled and introduced the world to a essentially new era of
multimedia innovation. Apple Inc. founded a brand new method in which microchip technology
was to be created and used for industrial, institutional and commercial usage. Which is due in
enormous part through the great talent of Steve Jobs that this esoteric technology managed to

During the last 20 years, Apple Incorporated has done exactly this with consistent brilliance
shown within the products Apple Incorporated invents and provides to not only America but the
world. The idea of this case study is to explore and research Apple Inc. s adopted business plan,
the plan that led to the creation of a new found market, i.e. microcomputers and later iPods and

Urbanization and Social Disparities in Cities, Questions...
Question 1: Cities as Locus for Political Debate
Cities are plots of land, densely covered with built environment, inhabited by dwellers; however
cities are also vast network hubs, linking social, economic and political flows. Cities possess
enormous human capital: they encourage exchange of ideas and intellectual opportunities. Cities
are conceived upon diversity encountering individuals with different believes and points of view,
coming from very different backgrounds one has a chance to test his own convictions against those
of others. Cities therefore are constantly evolving subjects, where one continues to learn every
minute; they also become arenas for political action and organization. In my essay I am going to
discuss how through close spatial proximity and interrelation of different socio economic groups
important political questions are being raised.
With examples from different world regions, such as India, US and Brazil it is possible to distill a
trend that urban setting through compact spatial organization provides exposure to various
viewpoints and encourages its dwellers to take action, to attempt to solve infrastructural problems
and organize in political groups. It is both in the city center and the periphery where people become
involved into performative politics. I would argue, that physical proximity and socio economic
difference present simultaneously in one space no matter whether in the center or in periphery
foster one s involvement in

Character Analysis Of Mrs. Mallard
Mrs. Mallard: Not the Typical Woman
We are introduced to Kate Chopin s Story of an Hour, in which the central character, Mrs.
Mallard, receives false news of her husband s passing due to a tragic train accident. Mallard
represents the many unprivileged women of her time, bound to a marriage they may or may not
be happy with. Mallard s character is reflected through her peculiar response to the appalling
message, as it was not what one the reader would expect from a woman of Mallard s era. This
aspect reveals that not everything in her life was ideal. Therefore, Chopin must set this character
free from the shackles that chain her to a life in an unhappy marriage and dependency of a
housewife on her husband for everything, by killing her. Chopin could argue that no other solution
was accessible for Mrs. Mallard. She ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mallard to the news of her husband s death often left readers puzzled as to why she did not break
down into a hysterical crying fit, as expected of a woman who just learned her husband will not
be coming home to her. Chopin s distinctive claim describes Mallard s initial response in a clear,
sharp, manner: She did not hear the story as many women have heard the same, with a paralyzed
inability to accept its significance. (Chopin 395) Chopin illustrates the idea that Mrs. Mallard
was not paralyzed by the death of her significant other. Rather she accepted it, which strays her
persona away from that of many women who have been in that exact situation. She displays a
sign of grief when the news is freshly given, but as Mallard comes to the realization of a life
without the mandatory input or association of her husband, she eases up and descends to her
room and sits in the armchair facing an open window. She begins to fantasize about life beyond
the house in which she has been trapped for so long, unable to live a life without having her
decisions made for her. With her husband out of the picture, she can finally build a life of her

Socialism offered an ideal and classless society in which the state controlled everything, yet the
people utilized the practice of controlling politics. He formed a highly centralized government,
which was furthered to totalitarian goals by his successor, Joseph Stalin. Stalin focused on
military and industrial gains which, by his death in 1953, had crippled the Soviet state because his
successors could not make any reforms without undermining the CPSU the Communist Party of
the Soviet Union (367). A heavy reliance on secret police and a militarized economy was already
in place when Mikhail Gorbachev came on the scene. He was elected General Secretary of the
CPSU in 1985 when the USSR was in middle of continually diminishing economic productivity; it
became stagnant. With his powers as secretary, he saw room for reform to change the USSR
drastically. He planned to do this through instituting glastnost, or openness, in society, which he
believed would ameliorate levels of corruption. Corruption was a detriment to democratization,
which he believed would heal the economy. He brought back the first contested elections in many

Victimization, Perceive Crime Ad The Justice System Essay
Data and Variables
This study is influenced by variables that have been gathered from the General Social Survey on
Victimization. The information from the survey dates back to 2009, and focuses specifically on
Crime and Justice, and well as Society and Community. The data set consist of 554 different
variables, and 19422 cases from all provinces within Canada excluding territories. The data was
collected by Statistics Canada on behalf of those who have been victimized. Also known as Cycle
23, the data collected only survey those who were 15 years of age and above. The purpose of this
survey is to understand how Canadians, through their experiences of victimization, perceive crime
ad the justice system.
Since not all provinces have the same population within, a sample was gathered from each
province as a representative of the overall population. When analyzing the province of resident of
each respondent, Ontario and Quebec have the largest samples because they consist of the largest
populations. On the contrary, Newfoundland and Labrador, along with Prince Edward Island have
the smallest samples because the population of those provinces are lower compared to other
provinces. Samples of each population act as a representatives to the population for many reasons.
The main reasons are that it is very difficult to interview every single household within a country.

Costco Key Issues
Key Issues:
At the end of 2012, Costco was a successful business; however there are some issues that they
would need to deal with. These issues mainly arise from their previous successful ventures as a
warehouse wholesale company. The first issue is that Costco has competitors that can actually
be and are a threat to their success. Competition allows a company to improve itself and prove its
prowess to its customers. However, when a competitor is able to provide the service at a much
reduced cost, problems will arise. As for the second issue, it seems that Costco s efforts to become

Most notably, the increase from 2010 to 2011 was a staggering $9,774 in millions. Compared to
the increase of $5,660 in millions from 2009 to 2010, there is a greater increase in merchandising
costs that Costco should be concerned about (Thompson... 2014). These costs have been accrued
through increasing gas costs for the transportation of goods and the increase in warehouses have
increased preopening costs. Costco has so far been able to keep a net income possible with these
increasing merchandising costs. Although if the net income is compared from 2009 to 2010
and 2010 to 2011, the amount of gain in the net income is decreasing; if left unchecked, this will
become a problem. In 2009 to 2010, there was a gain of $217 million while in 2010 to 2011
there was only a gain of $157 million (Thompson... 2014). This is a smaller gain by $58 million.
While it is still an increase in net income, the resulting costs of running their business have caused
Costco to achieve a smaller profit margin.
Recommendations:
First Recommendation: In regards to key issue 1 and 2, Costco needs to lower its membership fees

Ted Bundy and Psychodynamic Theory Essay

parents throughout his early childhood years. According to the article I read Ted s grandfather

awkward, but during high school he developed into good looking guy and was liked by many.

Psychodynamic theorists believe that this disorder begins during infancy when infants either
develop trust or mistrust towards their caregivers. In the case of Ted this very issue caused a lot
of turmoil for him. He grew up thinking that his grandparents were his parents and that is sister
was his mother. I think that this was very hard for him to accept and he felt like he could not
trust anyone. Researchers have supported the psychodynamic theory by claiming that people
with disorder have been subjected to family violence and parental conflict or divorce. Ted s
grandfather was said to be violent towards Ted and his other siblings. I believe that Ted s
environment played a huge role in his developing antisocial disorder and that these factors
would be listed under axis IV of the DSM IV TR. Michael Packard who was an editor for DSM
IV s criteria developed a way to determining the GAF or the Global Assessment Functioning. He
suggests moving up and down the scale until the person s status at that moment is described. I
chose the time in Ted s life when he was killing and found his GAF to be a 4 or lower according
Packard s method. At this level the DSM IV s criteria would be that Ted was a persistent danger of
severely hurting others (Midwest Behavioral Health Network, 2009). Psychodynamic theorists
would believe that Ted s past experiences would contribute to his disorder. They believe that

Essay Disputing the Canon
Disputing the Canon
I was in the best of settings when I realized that Shakespeare was indeed great. My freshman year

and, perhaps most heart warming of all, a self proclaimed Shakespeare lover whose posters of The

After sitting by a tree and reading the text front to back, perhaps then I would be able to see
Shakespeare in Percy s sense of the word.
Percy s noble task is to open our minds to the possibility that we are not the masters of what we
know that, in part, what we know and what we see, when approached passively, have a lot more
to do with preformed symbolic complex than with ourselves (512). Percy s exploration achieves
one of the main goals of all philosophy to change the way we think about things. He changes the
meaning of many concepts human beings tend to take for granted. Sight is no longer the mere
act of seeing, but a struggle, an act of understanding and appreciation (523). Sovereignty, in
relation to things, is no longer some abstract concept of power, but an ability to interpret for
oneself (517). Education or perhaps more specifically, its dynamic is reshaped, for it is no longer
a passive act (i.e. being taught to ) but an action that relies much more upon the student, who may
have the greatest difficulty in salvaging the creature itself from the educational package in which it
is presented (519). These concept alterations are thus meant to alter our reality; they aim to help us
rediscover in art what he calls in his opening paragraph an island, Formosa. This previously
untouched island is beautiful to its discoverer

scarring, it often associated with kidney failure and dialysis. After 5 years about 90% of people
develop ACKD. They usually seek help because they notice blood in the urine due to the cyst
bleeding. Patients with PKD and progress to end stage renal disease may need the following
procedures; hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and renal transplantation. Polycystic kidney disease is
multiple cyst that form on the kidney. There is NO cure for PKD. Everyone that has PKD does
NOT develop kidney failure. By the age of 60 about 50% of people with PKD will have kidney
failure and 60% by the age of 70. Treatment that is used, is used to reduce the symptoms. Your
kidney filters waste and extra fluid from the blood to the urine. When cyst form on the kidney they
are sacs filled with fluid. This can enlarge the kidney. The cyst is replacing the kidney structure

Distillation Gas Chromatography
In the process of obtaining the products of an elimination reaction between 2 Methyl 2 butanol with
a strong acid (sulfuric acid), it was necessary to undergo two fundamental techniques of separation
and analysis: distillation and gas chromatography. Distillation is one of the oldest biotechnological
techniques utilized by human kind. The history of distillation is very closely tied to the history of
the production and consumption of alcohol, although, some of the oldest scientific findings on the
theory and applications of distillation came from Aristotle and his observations and records which
were then utilized and referenced by Alexander around the 12th century [1]. Alexandrian chemists
are thought to be the major contributors to the knowledge and theory we hold today about
distillation and its applications. This separation technique takes advantage of... Show more content

analysis, also known as gas liquid chromatography, is an extremely applicable and powerful
method of environmental analysis. G.C. analysis is one of the few analyzing methods which has
the capacity to measure nearly all gases, pesticides, and small as well as complex organic
molecules [2]. As with other forms of chromatography, two different phases are needed, more
specifically, for gas liquid chromatography the mobile phase is a gas and the stationary phase is a
liquid (usually of high boiling point such as hexane). The very small sample which is to be
analyzed is injected into an oven, as depicted in figure 2, which is hot enough for the sample to
vaporize and be carried into the column by a gas such as helium. How fast the sample travels
through the column depends on how much time it takes moving with the gas in the column as
opposed to being attached to the mobile phase. This amount of time in the column, or retention
time, is measured by the detector. Every substance has a specific retention time. The graph
generated by the computer detector for our specific elimination reaction is shown

Jack Kerouac
from Heaven
Jack Kerouac spent his creative years writing in a prosperous post world war II America. He was
in many ways a very patriotic person who had no problem making known his love for his country ,
particularly within his literature. It was, quite literally, America that he was in love with. Taking
cues from writers such as Whitman, he embraced the American landscape as a field for spiritual
cultivation. Kerouac was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kerouac was a devoted student of the Buddhist way and would often impress his peers with his
knowledge of the Sutras and other Buddhist texts and ideas. This is particularly interesting when it
is considered that these peers were other students of Buddhism such as Gary Snyder or even Philip
Whalen, who is an ordained Zen monk. In fact, Kerouac was so immersed in Buddhist thought that
in 1956 he completed the manuscript to what would become a 420 page book titled Some Of The
Dharma, which was a collection of notes and thoughts on various ideas taken from the Sutras.
Included also were numerous poems and prose poems, which were attempts to transliterate the
ancient wisdom of Buddhism into a modern context, applicable to the western intellectual and
spiritual journeyman. Some of the Dharma was to be a study guide for the beginning practice of
Kerouac amp;#8217;s good friend and companion Allen Ginsberg.
While Kerouac was writing what was perhaps his best and certainly one of his most spiritually
driven novels, Desolation Angels, he was also writing a poem to accompany the novel which was
titled Desolation Blues. Although written after Kerouac was no longer up on Desolation Peak
serving as a fire lookout in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, it was a reflection upon the many
contemplations provoked by the solitude and serenity of the time he spent alone atop the mountain.
From the opening line he has recognized an inherently Buddhist view of the world

Wakefield High School Sports Injury
Throughout my junior and senior years of high school I was a part of the Student Athletic Training
Team in the Sports Medicine Department of Wakefield High School. To help better understand the
injuries that the team encountered in the field, I enrolled in the Sports Medicine classes that were
offered by the school. The classes were taught by the head athletic trainer for the school who
believed in hands on learning, especially for his student trainers. During the duration of the course
and my time as a member of the team, I saw numerous different types of injuries; but there were
three that occurred most often: an ankle sprain, a muscle strain, and a rotator cuff tear.

The Dual Writing Style In Gillian Flynn s Gone Girl
Nick and Amy moved from New York City, where both were laid off from their previous jobs as
writers, to Nick s hometown of North Carthage, Missouri to care for Nick s cancer stricken mother
and his father with alzheimer s. The two have a quite imperfect marriage that is at times profoundly
one sided, but is disrupted when Amy goes missing. A search Amy quickly ensues, and as the
investigation progresses, the truth about Amy and Nick s not so wonderful marriagecomes out for
all to see. In this journal I will be predicting the possibility of Nick s involvement in the case,
questioning why the detectives won t rule Nick out as a possible suspect, and evaluating the dual
perspectivewriting style in Gone Girl.

Along with the rotating viewpoints, the two stories being told, by Amy and Nick, happen at
different times through the collective story. I usually dislike this writing method, but in this plot,
I think it works well. I like that the two do not tell the same story from different perspectives but
rather one tells the story and the other follows with a background perspective that gives some
insight as to the reasoning behind the actions and motives of the characters in the present. In the
case of this book, Nick is narrating the investigation of Amy s disappearance as chapters of Amy s
diary chronicle the past relationship between the two counterparts. The two perspectives
complement each other, but neither spoil the storyline, as dual perspective books tend to do. For
example, Amy often gives us accounts from Nick and Amy s early relationship. Her discoveries
from the dawn of their romance shows how the opposite family structures of the two partners
change how act in the present of their relationship: People say children from broken homes have it
hard, but the children of charmed marriages have their own particular challenges (Flynn 27). The
two narrators of the story give a deep understanding of the motives and actions without giving too
many details that might spoil the future of the

Argumentative Essay On Antiheron
A hero is someone who always is brave and fearless in the face of danger. He is not flawed and is
admired for his heroic deeds by everyone while an antihero is one who lacks the conventional
attributes of a hero. When we look at the definition of heroes, most people cannot relate to it. We
make mistakes sometimes whereas traditional heroes do not make mistakes, and they are perfect.
We compromise on certain issues even if it will not benefit everyone; traditional herodo not
compromise, yet they want to make everyone happy by making the right decision while defeating
evil vices. Most people cannot relate to traditional heroes because at some point in their lives, they
have made mistakes and compromised on certain situations. The popularity of antiheroes benefits
the society because everyone feels included in heroic acts in different ways.
Antiheroes are more relatable to the people than traditional heroes. Antiheroes are flawed just like
everyone else; they compromise on certain issues, and they show that they are humans too. We

Epic of Beowulf
Where Did the Christianity in Beowulf Come From?
The Christian influences in Beowulf ultimately came from the Christian/Catholic Church of Rome
which converted Romans, and thereby the Roman legions and thereby the occupied provinces. Also
the Christian/Catholic Bishop of Rome sent missionary priests and monks to the British Isles to
proselytze the population. There are additional considerations too.
First of all, let us be clear about the fact that the conversion of Britain to Christianity began quite
early. The Catholic priest Venerable Bede
, born in Bernicia, Northumbria, around 673, states in Bk

Eusebius quotes the then existent works of earlier writers like the Jewish historian Josephus, the
philosopher Philo, Clement, Papias, and church writers like Dionysius of Corinth and Caius who
lived before the year 100. In Book2, chapter14 of the Ecclesiastical History Eusebius recounts how
the anti Christian Simon Magus encountered Peter the apostle in Rome:
He [Simon Magus] undertook a great journey from the East across the sea and fled to the West,
thinking that this was the only way for him to live according to his mind. Entering the city of
Rome, by the cooperation of that malignant spirit which had fixed its seat there, his attempts
were soon so far successful as to be honored as a god with the erection of a statue by the
inhabitants of that city. This, however, did not continue long; immediately under the reign of
Claudius, by the benign and gracious providence of God, Peter, that powerful and great apostle,
who by his courage took the lead of all the rest, was conducted to Rome against this pest of
mankind. He, like a noble commander of God fortified with the divine armor, bore the precious
merchandise of the revealed light from the East to those in the West, announcing the light itself and
salutary doctrine of the soul the proclamation of the kingdom of God.
Since Emperor Claudius died in 54AD and was succeeded by Tiberius Claudius Nero, Peter was
preaching in Rome sometime prior to 54. Book2, ch 15 of the Ecclesiastical History begins

Examples Of Satire Essay
Stupidity or Satire?
Laughter can be an instinctive expression of lively amusement although we don t usually realise
the offence of the joke we are laughing at. Tamara discusses modern satire and its position in
humanity. Sometimes the world we live in can be too blinded or careless to really discover the
reasons why we laugh at satirical comedy. Satire can be like a dream. When were in the dream we
remember bits of details and when we wake up we don t realise what our dream was about in the
first place. Satire can relate to this because as were watching satirical things were able to laugh
at the subject of mockery even when it can be so stupid, yet when we walk away from it we
forget what we watch and keep living our lives. TV shows such as Summer Heights is well known

Should Athletes Use Performance Enhancing Drugs Essay
Should Athletes be able to use Performance Enhancing drugs? Shirley Babashoff, is a female
swimmer who participated in The 1976 Montreal Summer Olympic Games. She had won seven
gold medals in total at the end of the games, but she was denied all seven of them as a result of a
government sponsored doping program. Consequently, she is in one of the worst clubs nobody
would want to be in: athletes who were denied a medal at all because they got caught doping. It is
important to make sure kids are looking up to these athletes as role models and not doing the
wrong things. The health risks behind the drugs could possibly be anywhere from a cramp to a
heart attack. Using performance enhancing drugs makes the game unfair and it kills the integrity of
the game. Athletes in all levels of play should not be allowed to use performance enhancing drugs,
they will affect the long term health of the player, damages the integrity and fairness of the game,
and endangers others associated with the person who uses them. Anabolic steroids are artificial

Explain How To Build-Up A Bad Smell Of A Water Heater
If your water has started to smell like rotten eggs, you need to sanitize your water heater.
Bacteria build up in your water heater can cause your water to smell bad; the only way to
effectively get rid of the smell is to throughly clean your water heater. Here are the steps you ll need
to follow in order to get rid of that bad smell:
Turn Off Your Water Heater
The first thing you need to do is turn off your water heater. If you have an electric water heater,
just turn off the manual switch. If you have a gas water heater, you ll need to set the control lever
to pilot. The pilot light should still be lit.
You will also need to close the inlet valve on your water heater for the cold water at this time.
Turn On The Hot Water
Next, you ll need to turn on a nearby hot water faucet. It can be a sink or tub faucet. When you turn
on the hot water faucet, you ll want to have someone also turn on the temperature and pressure
valve located at the top of your water heater at the same time. Doing this will help relieve the
pressure inside of the tank and allow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Add Hydrogen Peroxide
Now you will need to add hydrogen peroxide to your hot water tank. You can use the standard
3% hydrogen peroxide that you can find at your local drugstore. For a small hot water heater, you
ll want to add about two bottles of hydrogen peroxide; for a large water heater, you ll want to add
around four bottles of hydrogen peroxide to your tank.
You can add the hydrogen peroxide by pouring it into the outlet pipe or into the opening near the
temperature and water pressure valve. Once the hydrogen peroxide has been added, close the
temperature and pressure valve. Open the cold water inlet and allow the water heater to fill with
water again. You ll want to close the water inlet value when the tank is almost full.

Littering the The World
As you walk down the packed streets of New York City, 8.3 million people are out and about. Its
7pm and you re eating a granola bar headed to see the newest big hit on Broadway. Once you
finish, you look around and realize there is no garbage pails anywhere nearby. So you toss your
wrapper in the street and think nothing of it and casually walk away and go on with your
evening......
As a matter a fact, many people do this every day all around the world. And there is a name for it
too, litter. Litter is trash, such as paper, cans, and bottles that is left out in an open or public place.
There are many effects that litter can do. Litter that is lying in the streets gets blown into sewers
and clogs the sewers and waterways. From there, it flows into bodies of water. Chemicals and
toxins from plastic bottles escape into water systems. Animals get cut on sharp metal or broken
glass and get stuck inside bins and containers. When food litter is littered from a vehicle, it brings
animals to the road, and then they run onto incoming traffic and quickly become road kill, that can
hurt your car. These are some environmental effects that litter can do.
There is also an economic aspect to the harms of litter. Houses in littered neighborhoods sell for
less money, and much of what is thrown away or littered could have been recycled and could have
been made into something new. But surprisingly, the most littered item in the world is a cigarette
butt. They may be small, but there harm is much

In chapter five, Victor Frankenstein expresses his horror: I beheld the wretch the miserable monster whom I had created...His jaws opened, and he muttered some inarticulate sounds, while a grin wrinkled his cheeks. He might have spoken, but I did not hear...fearing each sound as if it were to announce the approach of the demoniacal corpse to which I had so miserably given life. The creature to whom he has given life now terrifies Victor and makes him regret his decision. This raises the question: When does science go too far? Like Frankenstein s creation of life, Factory Farms push the limits of science by attempting to control a set part of nature. Industrial Agriculture exploits nature for profit which is much like Frankenstein s desire to create life from dead matter; where the desire to gain is more important than the consequences. Farm animals are similar to the Creature since they are mistreated for no reason other than being non human. By detaining animals and making them suffer for the sole means of food production, Agriculturists become a modern day ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Delillo, however, exposes how absurd what we consider to be normal really is in our technology dependent society and our compulsive desire to have machines save us from ourselves and reaffirm our personal identities: In the morning I walked to the bank. I went to the automated teller machine to check my balance. I inserted my card, entered my secret code, tapped out my request. The figure on the screen roughly corresponded to my independent estimate, feebly arrived at after long searches through documents, tormented arithmetic. Waves of relief and gratitude flowed over me. The system had blessed my life. I felt its support and approval. The system hardware, the mainframe sitting in a locked room in some distant city. What a pleasing interaction. I sensed that something of deep personal value, but not money, not that at all, had been authenticated and confirmed (42). One day an industrial accident occurs and a lethal black chemical cloud descends upon the town. Jack is forced to stop and fill up his tank as his family attempts to comply with the evacuation orders. In those few minutes he is exposed to the cloud and the looming black cloud as a metaphor of death takes on a new significance. Jack is told that in about thirty years the doctors will be able to ... Macbeth tells her that he is a brave man but if pushed to do something evil, he will become a monster, but Lady Macbeth attacks his ego by saying when he does it he will be so much more of a man. Lady Macbeth makes him feel bad by telling him that if she swore to do something then she would rather have dash d the brains out of the babe that milked her rather than go back on it. This shows how much of a cold and ruthless person she really is. Macbeth asks what happens if they should fail and she simply replies we fail. Like, Ava helped herself and sarah helped of her bullies. The boy in making Sarah cry had to stand up to peer pressure and in don t give up the fight the girl had to show the boys what she is made of. In the story Don t give up the Fight the theme is courage. I know this because Ava has to keep racing after she is getting bullied. My other reason is that ava has to stand up to the boys and coach that try to put her down and want her to quit but, she keeps running even though she is getting made fun of. The Work Of Louis Pasteur In the midst of the Industrial Revolution, the son of leather tanners provided the clarity needed to understand the behavior of microbes and applied this understanding to improve people s daily life. This man, Louis Pasteur, succeeded in his medical investigations and continued to pursue his interest, despite objections given to him by his peers. The timeless work of Louis Pasteurin the areas of chemistry and microbiologyprovided the necessary foundation for the scientific study of immunology and stressed the importance of possessing a thorough understanding of the procedures involved in medical treatment. Background On December 27, 1822, Louis Pasteur was born to a family of leather tanners (Lamont, Cohn). As a child, Pasteur showed no scientific potential whatsoever (Cohn). However, he did have a talent for art, and it is possible that this particular interest could have influenced his appreciation for detail in his later years (Lamont). Many of his teachers suggested that he follow in his father s footsteps. As time progressed, Pasteur developed an interest in the field of science. Starting from this point in his life, Pasteur demonstrated the characteristic of rising above his expectations. Even though he was the son of a leather tanner, Pasteur did not give up and live a simple life. Through many strenuous years of hard work supplemented with encouragement from his father, Pasteur began to study at the French University. It is here, as Cohn notes, that Pasteur ... To what extent does Jez Butterworth focus on human weakness and ineptitude in his play Jerusalem ? Jez Butterworth s Jerusalem creates a comic vision focusing on the ambiguities, turmoil and hypocrisies of the society presented on stage. Butterworth focuses on the characters degeneracies in which the form of humour tends to be the exposure of their unruly behaviour and their reluctance to conform to social norms. • 16. How Did Aristotle Contribute To Logic Noah Wright Professor Bruno Intro to Logic 16 September 2017 Aristotle and Gottlob Frege Throughout the history of human civilization, logic has played an important role in the development of thought and the innovation of new technological discoveries. Without logic, there would be no reasonable or coherent way of thinking. Furthermore, there would be no person capable of coding a program today. Two important logicians who have contributed a great amount to the study of logic are Aristotle and Gottlob Frege. Aristotle is one of the many great ancient Greek philosophers who are mentioned throughout many textbooks. He was a student of the Plato (Aristocles) and a teacher to Alexander the Great. He has contributed to the studies of science, philosophy, and logic. Although he may have made vital contributions to the study of logic, his ideals have been reversed or significantly dispelled by the ideology of modern logic. Two men who showed the limitations of Aristotle s logic are Gottlob Frege and Bertrand Russell. His contributions to logic vary in many different sections of the study. However, one of his most significant contributions is the notion of syllogisms. One of Aristotle s contributions that is heavily taught in logic classes today is syllogisms. Syllogism, in layman s terms, is an argument with two premises and a conclusion. It is valid and deductive, basically meaning that it started out as a generalization but condensed to a specification of an idea. To ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is man made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings. Sometimes it falls on generation to be great. You can be that great generation. Let your greatness blossom. Nelson Mandela. Poverty at its worst involves hunger leading to starvation, inadequate shelter or housing and lack of clothing. Justice is the idea that all people, everywhere in the world, have the right to a life of dignity. This means a life free from poverty, violence, discrimination or human rights violations. A world where justice exists in a world where all people are included in a society and all people can claim their rights to education, shelter, and health care regardless of how poor or rich they are. Whenever we speak of poverty we must speak of injustice. But more than that, we must speak of HOPE. To give hope we must have it and if we are to build hope in others it will require something of humanity. It is found in our actions. Poverty is a state of deprivation, or a lock of the usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions. The most common measure of poverty in the U.S is the poverty threshold set by the U.S government. Almost half of the world over three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day. People began questioning the legitimacy when the FBI admitted to the flaws in hair analysis in hundreds of cases that occurred over decades before the 2000s. Not only those cases but many others in which the evidence was not scientific legitimate. According to The National Registry of Exonerations, more than 2,000 people have been exonerated in recent decades. More than 400 of those, were because of misleading or flawed evidence. This all has proven that these methods used for hundreds and thousands of years need to be fixed and changed. Having children become vaccinated can allow the child to be protected from many common illnesses. Common vaccinations that most children are able to get at a young age can help cure problems that occur both early on and later in life. With these vaccinations, science has come great ways to keeping children safe and happy. Although there are risks for children who are receiving them, having a child vaccinated is the best way to keep children from becoming very ill. Many common contagious diseases like measles and diphtheria posed serious health threats, especially in highly populated urban environments. Thanks to scientific breakthroughs and effective campaigns to promote childhood vaccination, these diseases were nearly eradicated in the Western hemisphere by the late 1990s (Rabinowitz et al. 1). Each of these diseases can be prevented by a vaccination given throughout childhood. Measles, for example, is a highly contagious rash that spreads across the body and can cause extremely high temperatures with symptoms similar to those of a common cold. Children can be vaccinated any time from twelve months to twelve years of age. For the first dose, it is recommended for children from ages twelve to fifteen months (CDC). With examples from different world regions, such as India, US and Brazil it is possible to distill a trend that urban setting through compact spatial organization provides exposure to various viewpoints and encourages its dwellers to take action, to attempt to solve infrastructural problems and organize in political groups. The information from the survey dates back to 2009, and focuses specifically on Crime and Justice, and well as Society and Community. The data set consist of 554 different variables, and 19422 cases from all provinces within Canada excluding territories. The data was collected by Statistics Canada on behalf of those who have been victimized. Also known as Cycle 23, the data collected only survey those who were 15 years of age and above. The purpose of this survey is to understand how Canadians, through their experiences of victimization, perceive crime ad the justice system. Since not all provinces have the same population within, a sample was gathered from each province as a representative of the overall population. When analyzing the province of resident of each respondent, Ontario and Quebec have the largest samples because they consist of the largest populations. On the contrary, Newfoundland and Labrador, along with Prince Edward Island have the smallest samples because the population of those provinces are lower compared to other provinces. Samples of each population act as a representatives to the population for many reasons. The main reasons are that it is very difficult to interview every single household within a country. • 35. Costco Key Issues Key Issues: At the end of 2012, Costco was a successful business; however there are some issues that they would need to deal with. These issues mainly arise from their previous successful ventures as a warehouse wholesale company. The first issue is that Costco has competitors that can actually be and are a threat to their success. Competition allows a company to improve itself and prove its prowess to its customers. However, when a competitor is able to provide the service at a much reduced cost, problems will arise. As for the second issue, it seems that Costco s efforts to become an international company are moving slowly. They have not reached a point where their US and Canadian warehouses provide a backbone for their finances. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Compared to the increase of $5,660 in millions from 2009 to 2010, there is a greater increase in merchandising costs that Costco should be concerned about (Thompson... 2014). These costs have been accrued through increasing gas costs for the transportation of goods and the increase in warehouses have increased preopening costs. Costco has so far been able to keep a net income possible with these increasing merchandising costs. Although if the net income is compared from 2009 to 2010 and 2010 to 2011, the amount of gain in the net income is decreasing; if left unchecked, this will become a problem. While it is still an increase in net income, the resulting costs of running their business have caused Costco to achieve a smaller profit margin. Recommendations: First Recommendation: In regards to key issue 1 and 2, Costco needs to lower its membership fees in order to attract new customers. Membership fees account for a small portion of their total revenue but membership numbers are how Costco makes its profits. Psychodynamic theorists believe that this disorder begins during infancy when infants either develop trust or mistrust towards their caregivers. In the case of Ted this very issue caused a lot of turmoil for him. He grew up thinking that his grandparents were his parents and that is sister was his mother. I think that this was very hard for him to accept and he felt like he could not trust anyone. Researchers have supported the psychodynamic theory by claiming that people with disorder have been subjected to family violence and parental conflict or divorce. Ted s grandfather was said to be violent towards Ted and his other siblings. I believe that Ted s environment played a huge role in his developing antisocial disorder and that these factors would be listed under axis IV of the DSM IV TR. Michael Packard who was an editor for DSM IV s criteria developed a way to determining the GAF or the Global Assessment Functioning. He suggests moving up and down the scale until the person s status at that moment is described. I chose the time in Ted s life when he was killing and found his GAF to be a 4 or lower according Packard s method. At this level the DSM IV s criteria would be that Ted was a persistent danger of severely hurting others (Midwest Behavioral Health Network, 2009). How lucky I thought I was. Indeed, if I wanted to appreciate Hamlet, I was in the right hands. But how misled I actually was at least, in Walker Percy s eyes. After sitting by a tree and reading the text front to back, perhaps then I would be able to see Shakespeare in Percy s sense of the word. Percy s noble task is to open our minds to the possibility that we are not the masters of what we know that, in part, what we know and what we see, when approached passively, have a lot more to do with preformed symbolic complex than with ourselves (512). Percy s exploration achieves one of the main goals of all philosophy to change the way we think about things. He changes the meaning of many concepts human beings tend to take for granted. Sight is no longer the mere act of seeing, but a struggle, an act of understanding and appreciation (523). Sovereignty, in relation to things, is no longer some abstract concept of power, but an ability to interpret for oneself (517). Education or perhaps more specifically, its dynamic is reshaped, for it is no longer a passive act (i.e. being taught to ) but an action that relies much more upon the student, who may have the greatest difficulty in salvaging the creature itself from the educational package in which it is presented (519). These concept alterations are thus meant to alter our reality; they aim to help us rediscover in art what he calls in his opening paragraph an island, Formosa. G.C. analysis is one of the few analyzing methods which has the capacity to measure nearly all gases, pesticides, and small as well as complex organic molecules [2]. The very small sample which is to be analyzed is injected into an oven, as depicted in figure 2, which is hot enough for the sample to vaporize and be carried into the column by a gas such as helium.
