Midsummers Night Dream
How does the play within the play enhance your enjoyment of the rest of A Midsummer Night s
Dream? If not, why not? I would argue that A Midsummer Night s Dream is one of Shakespeare s
greatest comedies. Comedy is in abundance in A Midsummer Night s Dream, especially in the play
within the play . The play within the play is a key characteristic in A Midsummer Night s Dream and
deserves a thorough analysis as it holds a tight link to the main plot of this play. This part of the play
takes up most of act V and allows a cheerful and comical ending to the play. The play within the play
adds deeper meaning and understanding to the play as an entirety and it mirrors certain aspects of the
play as a whole. The play that group of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However puke gets mixed up and instead he anoints the eyes of Lysander therefore causing him to fall
in love with Helina, leaving Hermia without her beloved Lysander. Yet the Oberon soon makes Puke
correct his mistake and reunites the lovers correctly. Lysander and Hermia fall back in love with the
help of some more love juice. Helina eventually gets her wish. Demetrius is as in love with her as she
is in love is with him. As if there wasn t enough characters getting upset and confused, Shakespeare
also adds nearly an equal measure of confusion into the play within the play . Just as the Athenian
lovers were bewildered and fooled, so too was Pyramus. He mistakenly believed that his love Thisbe
has been killed by the lion. This almost exact mirroring of the main themes and ideas of A Midsummer
Night s Dream enhances the quality and enjoyment of the play within the play and the entire play
itself. The play within the play gave me something to compare my views on A Midsummer Night s
Dream against. The impact that the play within the play has on the audience is very subtle yet it is a
major link in the play as a whole. When A Midsummer Night s Dream begins it has all the making of a
tragedy. The father who refuses to let her daughter wed the man she is in love with, who instead orders
her to marry a man who he sees fit. Hermias father wants her killed for disobeying her. The mention of

Causes Of Mfecane
Explaining Mfecane as a multipolar cause and showing the flaws in the unipolar cause schools of
thought.
Introduction.
During the 1820 s the southern area of Africa went through a drastic population growth and radical
social, political changes, economic and ecological changes. This period was characterised as a period
of migration, battles, food deprivation, and suffering for most of the kingdoms of Southern Africa .
This period of wars and migration in Africa become known as Mfecane. There are many schools of
thought as to why these migrations and wars took place. These schools of thought, are based on
specific causes for the Mfecane. The causes are trade, environmental changes, political changes and
population growth. This essay will, however, argue that there is no unipolar explanation for the ...

Gump, however, has led us away from blaming Mfecane solely on Shaka, since Shaka only comes
after the start of Mfecane, thus could he as a great leader only worsen Mfecane by increasing the
number of wars . Colin Web argued that the reason why Difagane took place was indeed about,
political changes, but what made Web s study different he did not only blame one kingdom, he argued
the causes for Mfecane was due to three strong kingdoms, present at the same time. These three
kingdoms according to Web was known as Sobhuza s Ngwane Dhlamini, Dingiswayo s Mthethwa and
Zwide s Ndwandwe . Thus did Web conclude due to the fact that all these kingdoms were present at
the same time competition ware high and resources were low, this led to wars and migration often
associated with Mfecane. This was possible because in terms of environment and natural resources the
three conquering chiefdoms resembled one another remarkable close, their lies a strong possibility that
if adversity struck one of these chiefdoms it would strike all three, setting them on similar courses of

The Individual in Judaism and Hinduism
Through the Bhagavad Gita and the Book of Job we see the similar ways that different religions affirm
that the individual can t have the same level of knowledge as the divine. We also, however, see that
while Hinduism offers an explanation for this knowledge disparity, and offers a path of empowerment
that allows the individual to strive for the knowledge level of the divine, Judaism simply deems that
we are insignificant beings when compared to God, and that we can t ever achieve nearly the same
amount of knowledge as God. The Book of Job tells those who consider the bible to be a holy text,
namely Jewish and Christian people, the story of Job. His story tells us that we, as individual human
beings, are lesser beings than God and can t know as much as God. At the end of the story, after
hearing God mention the greatness of his creations, Job finally breaks and admits that he was wrong to
question God, as Job, an individual human being, has a limited amount of knowledge compared to
God. While God is pleased with this response from the previously dubious Job, he is not happy with
Zophar, Eliphaz, and Bildad for claiming to know why God acted in the manner in which he did while
they were consoling Job. God relents however, and forgives them after Job prays for them. God is so
delighted with Job for withstanding all of the punishments Satan had put forth upon him that he
rewarded Job with two times more of everything he had lost, including his children. This ending to the

President Hindenburg s Influence On The Rise Of Power
President Hindenburg was one of many contributing factors to Hitler s rise to power. Power is the
capacity or ability to direct or influence the behaviour of others or the course of events. President
Hindenburg passed on a role in government to Hitler, but Hindenburg took the risk and didn t know
what he was in for. The argument produced is about the importance of President Hindenburg s actions,
what effect the Great Depression made on Hitler s rise to power and the long term resentment about
the Treaty of Versailles.
The Treaty of Versailles which was established after World War One, contributed to the
embarrassment and humiliation Germany was faced with. Land and Military were lost, but most of all
respect from the German population . At this stage Germany became remote and the only person
German people had hope in was Hitler. To the German community Hitler was their ultimate saviour .
The combined actions provided rich material for Hitler to use in supporting him in the rise of power.
The Treaty also started a process where the German economy was rebuilt bases around the loans led
by the US . This made the nation especially weak when the Great Depression came. The German
economy fell soon after due to invasion from the French as it was impossible for Germany to pay the
reparations. The German currency lost its value and this was the start to the middle classes falling into
poverty . In 1924 the crisis was ended by the Dawes Plan, which re established the value of the

3d Printing And Its Effects On The World Of Tissue...
3D Printing On the forefront of tissue scaffold fabrication is 3D printing. 3D printers have a multitude
of advantages over traditional scaffold fabrication methods. High print precision allows fibers to be
deposited into 3D structures with finely tunable dimensions, 3D printers also have the ability to
incorporate multiple materials into the same structure through multiple extrusion heads. Jakus et al.
used a 3D extrusion based printer to create a graphene and polylactide co glycolide scaffold and
showed it could create a 3D graphene structure (3DG) with features as small as 100 um and as large as
10cm offering a large range of applications. They also showed that 3DG supports human
mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC) adhesion, viability, proliferation, and neurogenic differentiation with
significant upregulation of glial and neuronal genes [9]. The ease in fabrication and the ability to
precisely modify structure with 3D printers allows for opportunities in a wide range of tissue
engineering applications. Incorporating growth factors and other bioactive molecules into a CP It is
often desirable to modify the material properties of a polymer to better optimize it for different
applications. Critical properties that affect the possible applications of the polymer include
conductivity, porosity, hydrophobicity, degradability. There are four main processes to incorporate
chemical and biological molecules into a polymer. The simplest method is adsorption, following the

Analysis Of The Poem Dover Beach By Matthew Arnold

An Analysis of Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold
Dover Beach is thought to be one of the best representations of the Victorian Period all together. It
portrays the mood and tone of what the people experienced and felt at that time. Around the same time
it was written, London had just experienced a massive boom in their population, growing from 2 to 6
million citizens. At the same time, London was becoming one of the first in the country to move
towards industrialization, causing some to lose their jobs due to machinery performing them better and
faster. People began to feel useless with technology taking over so quickly. Many suffered from the
expansion during the early part, losing all hope of finding happiness and giving this moment in time a
new name; A Time of Troubles .
Many other authors, like Matthew Arnold, began writing their personal accounts of what they
experienced or saw others experiencing, giving the feeling of melancholy. The reason why Dover
Beach represents the Victorian period is because in the way Arnold wrote it, he didn t ground himself
or stick to one specific subject. He creates a mood by using a variety of images, metaphors, similes,
and adjectives. The narrator seems lonely, not mentioning any other person around him. One of the
other major problems being experienced during this time are also represented in this poem. That
problem is the loss of faith. Because of the new developments,

Baby Driver Reflection
I was hesitant to watch Baby Driver, despite liking the trailers and talent involved, because I have yet
to see a full Edgar Wright film. I ve seen parts of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs.
the World. I liked what I saw, but I wasn t sure I wanted to have my introduction to Wright be his fifth
film. Well, my willpower broke and I m happier for it.
Baby Driver focuses on the eponymous Baby (Ansel Elgort), a getaway driver working for a crime
boss (the now disgraced Kevin Spacey). Things get more complicated when Baby meets Debora (Lilly
James), a waitress who steals his heart, and gets involved in a job with some volatile coconspirators.
Of the several joys of this film, not the least of them is acting. That starts with Elgort, who is
impressive as Baby. He makes him someone we instantly like, with his cool demeanor and infectious
enthusiasm for music. We root for him right away, and that holds when we learn more about him and
Elgort convincingly portrays those depths.
As much as I liked Elgort, I probably liked James work even more. She does a lot with little to work
with as Debora. Her character doesn t have much depth on the page, but James has a magnetic screen
presence. She nails each scene and makes you believe her character is a real person with many
dimensions, even though the movie doesn t really explore them.
For the supporting cast, Spacey is quite good as the crime boss Doc. He s got a menacing vibe about
his serious persona and,

Strong, Independent And Hardworking
Strong, independent and hardworking. All words I would use to describe my Mum. Ever since she was
young she did her best and put effort into everything that she set her mind to. Eleven years younger
than her youngest sibling, the way she grew up was a lot different to the way her older siblings had.
This explains her independence. She may have had four siblings looking after her in her primary years
but by the time she had started intermediate school, it was just her. The others had all gone off and had
their own kids. After her father left and her mother became ill, the only person she could count on was
herself and that idea still sticks with her today. She was like a baby bird that had just learnt to fly and

Around the house she walks around in her classic black Canterbury track pants, holes in the knees and
faded writing, alongside them she wears casual t shirts, never the same one twice. It s always like this
at home because as she says, What s the point? I m not going anywhere! But as soon as she has to
leave the house it s always out with the skinny jeans and the hair straightener. As most people do, she
has grown emotionally stronger. Married at twenty two for thirteen years to a man who others warned
against. Over the course of those years she was broken down emotionally. Cheated on, stolen from and
lied to constantly. The decision she made to end the marriage and gain full custody of us kids was the
formation of who she is today. If she hadn t made that decision she would still be a lonely, fragile
woman because of who her husband was turning her into. Once that had happened she became strong.
She made the choice to never let anyone push her around as she quite scrupulously points out when
she s pissed off at someone. Anytime I come home I will always see Mum doing the same thing. She ll
be sitting in her late mother s big red recliner, dog in her lap, watching some old T.V show from the
nineties and usually she ll be knitting something. Most of the time it s a self less deed for someone
else as per usual. Every time I get home she asks how my day was and what I got up to in an
enthusiastic manner. It is a

Factors And Success Of Sir Syed And Aligarh Movement
This inclination was introduced by Dadabhai Naoroji, by many Indians, he was considered as the
eldest statesman. Successfully, he went as far as opposing, an election to the British House of
Commons and became its first Indian member. That he was supported by young, ambitious Indian
student activists like Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Indian National Congress was found in 1885. It announced that it will keep the representation of both
Hindus and Muslims in India. But afterwards Muslims realized that it became a whole benefit for
Hindus only.

The Muslim leaders wanted to form a permanent political forum. The anti Muslim activities of
Congress too gave emphasis to the need of a political platform for the Muslims from where Muslims
could protect their interests. Consultations were held between the Muslim leaders of Shimla
Deputation after their meeting with the Viceroy among themselves as to the probability of establishing
a political association.
The reasons for the establishment of Muslim league are as follows:
1. INDIFFERENT ATTITUDE OF THE CONGRESS TOWARDS MUSLIMS:
All India National Congress was dominantly Hindu body from scratch. Their interests were always
opposite to the interests of the Indian Muslims. By 1906, Muslim leaders were influenced that they
must have their own party which may speak for the public on all important events.
2. EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC BACKWARDNESS:
Muslims had left far behind in education and economic progress from the Hindus. Educational and
economic environments can only be up graded by founding a separate Muslims organization that can
represent the needs and requirements of the Muslims of

of Crowell was so grossly unequal so as to put Lajuana Barnett at the mercy of Crowell s negligence.
Lastly, the exculpatory clause contained in the release form (see release form) is void as against public

The defendant did not ask whether the plaintiff was left or right handed, and the plaintiff, not knowing
otherwise, put on her equipment the same way as she saw the other members of the club putting on
their gear. A waiver of a right to sue is ineffective to shift the risk of a party s own willful, reckless, or
gross conduct. Id. at 543 (citing Winterstein v. Wilcom, 16 Md.App. 130, 134 36, cert. denied, 266

In the present case, the defendant was certified by the U.S. Fencing Association to provide instruction
in fencing and was to instruct fencing club members in the proper methods of fencing. These are direct
quotes taken from the release form signed by the plaintiff. In signing the exculpatory clause, plaintiff
was to release defendant from any and all claims arising out of student s participation in fencing club
activities. In return, plaintiff was to receive instruction in the proper methods of fencing. This includes
proper instruction in putting on the safety equipment, arguably the most important aspect of the sport
of fencing. The wording any and all claims can be construed as ambiguous. It would be against public
policy to hold valid a claim that released the defendant from any and all claims arising out of fencing
club activities, including claims arising from the defendant s negligence. The plaintiff signed the
exculpatory clause releasing the defendant from

Persia And China Similarities
Ancient Persia and China had many similarities and various differences in how they both ruled their
empires. Most of these similarities and differences come from their political and military practices.
They both also share some similarities in their religions. Persia and China have many of the same
techniques in governing their empire, military techniques, and religious practices, while also
distinguishing themselves from one another under mongol rule. One thing both of these ancient
empires had in common was how they ruled their empires. Both of them separated their civilizations
into districts or sections. In Persia the territory was put into twenty three satrapies, which was an
administrative and taxation district governed by a satrap.

The Role of Spirituality in Health Care Essay
Spiritual Assessment
Grand Canyon University: HLT 310
January 20, 2013
Spirituality is a delicate topic, and some may not be open to talking about their beliefs. Spirituality is
generally understood to be an essential aspect of being human (Lyndo Lam, 2012). Assessing the
spiritual needs of patients is a key component in the nursing process. A compassionate and thoughtful
nurse can make a patient feel more secure, making it easier for him to express his spirituality. The
participation of both patient and health care provider is vital in promoting spiritual health. The main
focus of a spiritual assessment is to gather information regarding the patient s spiritual needs in order
incorporate them into the plan of care, so as to treat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Patient strongly believes that faith plays an important part in his health, but he knows that he could
also do much more for himself in order to improve his health. Mr. Ferrell quotes, I can t expect God to
help me if I don t help myself (Ferrel, 2013). Praying and honoring God does fullfil his spiritual needs
but it does not magically improve his health. He mentioned that his weakness is food and as a result he
struggles with his diabetic and renal diets; eating healthier could improve the patient s health. Mr.
Ferrell believes and knows that he needs to treat his body better as God has been so merciful with him
and considers his eating habits a sin. As a retired man, he finds time to do many Church activities that
benefit both the community and himself. He likes doing community services as it helps release some
stress caused by his illness. Being involved in Church has taken him to Jerusalem, which to him was
the most wonderful experience. Traveling has played an important role for him but cannot do so often
due to his dependency of a machine to clean his blood. What went well The patient was able to
express himself openly; no questions were skipped or left blank. Explaining the reason and the
importance of performing this spiritual assessment helped build rapport and trust with the patient
easily. Also, getting some insight into his spiritual needs made the connection between nurse and

Reflection Paper On Self-Evaluation
Self evaluation builds on a natural tendency to check out the progress of one s own learning and to
improve. Being a foreign medical graduate, and a stay at home mom for the last 17 years, I felt
nervous around my colleagues who are professionals and experts in their fields due to years of
experience that I felt I did not yet have. This paper discusses peer feedback and self assessment based
on multiple negotiation exercises performed by me during the on campus visit of summer, 2017. For
example, I have realized that it is essential to not only know my opponent, but to also know myself.
This opportunity of self reflection has allowed me to recognize beneficial methods of conduct for

person and my duty and goals that I need to accomplish. Trustworthiness is a good strategy that my
colleagues picked in me and I am proud of it. This is because I am a good listener and my team felt
that their concerns are being heard which allowed them to believe in my proposals. This strategy
helped me in my role as Brook the Chief Legal Counsel, SWE, Sales Manager, and Lennon in
negotiation exercises Fastkin, New Media Web Design and Geben Robotics respectively. My
colleagues have mentioned my ability to look at the whole picture as my strength to which I agree. I
was able to expand the pie rather than divide the pie and get to a yes that changed the win lose game
to a win win scenario where both sides can benefit can benefit more by working on mutual benefits
and try to stay away from false conflicts or illusory effects. I think that zero sum is a negative
perception and it is often possible for people to gain, especially if they collaborate. I often use this
technique at home with my children and spouse. If a negotiation turns to a conflict and becomes
personal, the sense of fair play (or even getting what I need) then goes out of the window. I had a

Active Learning Is The Best Option Of Learning
Active learning is productive, enhances opportunities and is supported or directed by technology.
However, that is not to say that active learning is the best option of learning for all. To determine how
well students learn while not physically in a classroom we need to evaluate how well learning takes
place in on line classroom environments. Skorton (2013) documented that an online course has the
potential to transform higher educations with substantial benefits for students, their eventual
employers, and participating communities. Therefore, evaluation of learning environments indicates a
real measure of the effectiveness of what is learned. Experiments have shown the way that it is
beneficial to a person s daily activities or student however; from experiences, there should be a means
to demonstrate what is learned. Did learning take place, at least to meet defined objectives from a
class or other learning environments? To me learning via collaborative, instructional, and with a team
of mixed backgrounds can promote a higher degree (Jones 1995). My initial thoughts on this subject
were that active learning seems to be a bit more difficult in an online course that it would be sitting in
an actual classroom with the personal and physical interactions of others. That is unless there are
sessions providing interactive, near real time or live online classes. Learning in a classroom or while
sitting at home on the couch accessing classrooms through online resources is

Definition Essay On Resilience
Firstly, let me define the word resilient. Resilient is the ability to cope with stress, or the ability to
quickly recover from difficult conditions. Now how resilient do I think I am? I think that in most
situations I am pretty resilient, but I feel like it all depends on the situation. For example, if there was
a death in the family then my resilience would be really low, because of the circumstances. But, if we
were talking about like being a teacher in a new classroom then I feel like my resilience wouldn t be
too high or too low. Being a teacher in a new classroom is of course a big step and brings a lot of
responsibility, which sometimes causes stress. I have recently gone through this situation, I recently

Analysis Of The Film For Colored Girls
Picture this, waking up every morning to a new issue to face, but not completely finishing the ones
from yesterday or last week. Imagine being overburdened with stress, low income, neglect, needs and
wants, death and heartbreak, but still having to function to survive for your loved ones. The film, For
Colored Girls , directed by Tyler Perry in 2010, narrates the lives of the everyday struggles of several
black women in Harlem, New York. Their lives connect together by the different hardships they face
from not only, being a woman of color, but a being woman in general. Tory Floyd s Interpersonal
Communication textbook, copy written in 2009, teaches communication concepts and how they affect
personal, academic, and professional relationships. The specific communication concepts seen
throughout this movie are the need to belong, profanity, slander, the power and control aspect of
haptics, sadness, denial, empathic listening and closeness. For Colored Girls , portrays the need to
belong. The need to belong is a theory that humans are born with the desire to want to form and
maintain relationships (Floyd, page 279). The women of the plot go through their own need to belong
in with their own individual situations and environments. For example, one of the main characters,
Crystal, doesn t leave an abusive relationship because of the history and the love she has with her high
school sweetheart. This ends up becoming a detrimental situation when he drops their two children

These actions allow Breakaway to branch out of its normal audience and mission. Breakaway also
creates more volunteers for itself by presenting a fun and enjoyable outlet for community service.
Those volunteers keep Breakaway running and come straight from the audience Breakaway creates.
They are arguably the best result of the mutually beneficial relationship.
However, Breakaway s MBRs extend further than just the college students. The staff at Breakaway
rely on the reputation their volunteers and the organization itself holds within the university to
maintain other relationships as well. Their cooperation and support of Silver Taps (which always

the facility staff they come into contact with allow Breakaway the privilege to take place in venues

over time, Breakaway has built quite a network for itself.

Teen Drug Use
Anchor: Tonight on Channel 1 News, we are going to be reporting on a huge issue amongst
teens...drug use. Teen drug use is an issue that is becoming more and more common and is harming
teens in just about all schools across the country. For more information on this topic we now go over
to Evan.
Reporter: Thanks Matt. Teen drug use has been an upcoming problem for many years. One survey
shows that 81% of teens have had the option to try drugs, and 42% of those teens have actually given
in and used them.
INTERVIEW: We are here with a student who asked to stay anonymous from a school in Hammond
ISD.
Evan: We would like to talk to you today on the topic of teen drug use and would like to ask you a few
questions. Statistics show that 31% ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Interviewer(Reporter): Already having fairly close connections with drugs, have you been offered
any?
Interviewee: Surprisingly I haven t. I know many kids who have and even if I was offered drugs, I
would definitely reject them.
Interviewer(Reporter): We appreciate your willingness to speak with us today about this problem in
our country. We hope that you and kids across the U.S. see this story and choose to make the decision
that drugs are not worth the risk facing you and millions of other teens across the country.
Anchor: Thank you REPORTER(name). Now I would like to take a look at this graph. This graph
shows that almost 11% of teens age 13 through 15 who had never used drugs before have now started
to this year. If this trend continues, big problems will begin to emerge. If we can bring this number
down by just 5%, it would make a big difference and could decrease the number of teens who use
drugs drastically. This has been Channel 1 News on teen drug use. Have a good night, and thanks for

The Bank Of Japan ( Boj )
1. TheBank of Japan
1.1. History, structure and function The Bank of Japan (BOJ) was founded in June, 1882 and started to
operate in October of the same year. The BOJ s top decision making body is called the Policy Board ,
which decides its operations and sets up guidelines as to the monetary policy. The Policy Board is
composed of nine members; a governor, two deputy governors and six executive directors. The
majority rule applies to the board decision making. As for the process of appointments of the Policy
Board members, the Cabinet first appoints them, and then it has to have the Diet approve the
appointment ( Organization ). As the central bank of Japan, the BOJ broadly has two objectives, that
is, stabilizing prices and the financial system. The price stability is set to be two percent in terms of
the annual rate of change in the consumer price index ( Price stability ). Regarding the relation with
the government, the Bank of Japan Act was fixed in 1997 and made clear the independence of the BOJ
from the government. The Act bans the Cabinet from firing the board members in the middle of their
terms.
1.2 Response to the 2008 financial crisis
The BOJ took a series of monetary policies responding to the 2008 financial crisis. However,
compared to the responses of the FRB and the ECB, that of the BOJ was relatively reserved. This was
partly because the interest rate in Japan was already low enough when the crisis took place and

Downloading Things Illegally
Illegal downloading is an act of obtaining copyrighted music without proper payment or consent from
an owner. This is a crime and consequences may vary depending on the degree of this matter.
Commonly, video and film are illegally downloaded, resulting in many antagonistic responses from
the recording industry. This topic sparked a controversy among the recording companies for negligent
laws to be turned upside down. The peer to peer network is highly responsible for this matter in which
individuals share music through the linkage of computers via the internet. Many cases had been
handled in court, and one of the outcomes affected drastically in the life of a twelve year old girl, who
was fined a great sum. These cases help to unleash a message towards the public: when caught, one
will be dealt according to the law. In the music industry, the control of sheet music is of the utmost
importance. Technologies were mainly the problem to bring music into society. In 1902, disc based
phonographic cylinders replaced the Edison Records. Later on, in the 1930s, electronic microphones
surged the market, making it possible for recording studios to do its job which would have been
impossible to do before. One technique that developed from electronic recording was overdubbing.
Overdubbing was first used by the Victor Talking Machine Company in which a recorded part was
played over another to enhance the quality of the music. With the advantages of these technologies,

Affordability At Walmart
The influx of the middle and upper class is exhibited through the amount of affordable housing now
available in neighborhoods throughout Minneapolis and Saint Paul. In 1998 11% of housing in
Minneapolis Saint Paul were densely gentrified neighborhoods, and with time this is increasing (Wyly,
et al). With higher earners entering a neighborhood, the higher the cost of housing is. One way to
measure affordability is comparing the median renter s income and their affordable threshold of rent
(usually 30% of their monthly income) with the percentage of available units that this renter could buy
in a neighborhood. For an area to be considered affordable, 50% or more of units should be available
for a median renter (CURA Housing Forum). In a University

And Then There Were None Mystery
What would you do if you were lured to an island by someone claiming to be an old friend, or sent to
complete a job? One by one someone is murdered. The murderer is one of the ten people among you,
and as one person dies that s one less person who is guilty. Would you be the person who takes
charge? The one who goes insane? Or would you lie low and hope noone notices you? In the book
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, the main mystery elements used were: main conflict,
setting, characterization, and the author s techniques of giving clues.
The main conflict in the story is person versus person, or the murders of the ten people who were
apparently murdered because they were guilty of a crime themselves. Everyone is killed in a certain
way, by the lyrics of a nursery rhyme hung in their bedrooms. (31). On the centerpiece of the dining
table there are ten indian boys, everyone thought it was very clever since the name of the island they
were staying on was Indian Island. That was until they realized each indian boy represented one of
them and as one person died one indian boy was taken off the centerpiece. (74) ... Show more content

Essay on Interview with the Vampire
Interview with the Vampire Book vs. Movie
I cannot speak for all, but I find watching the movie much more interesting than reading the book. I
find that the movie paints a perfect picture well on the other hand reading the book you have to let
your imagination take over and create images in your head of what might the scene look like.
Interview with the Vampire was a well written book and a well developed movie after reading the
book and the watching the movie I found the movie much more entertaining then reading the book. In

Even though the settings were very similar, I still found the movie much more entertaining to watch.
The film has a sense of humor that the book never even alluded to. Some scenes are unchanged in the
movie from the book. That s why I found that the plot in the movie was exactly as it was in the book.
There is a scene where Louis first feeds off of Claudia and her transformation, and there is also a
scene at the Theatre de Vampires are practically word for word from the book. There is a scene where
Claudia sleeps in Louis coffin this also accurse in the movie. There is also a scene where Lestat locks
a whore in a coffin which also accurse in the movie but much more entertaining to watch then read.
Also, Lestat s two demises are the same, though there is no vampire musician who accompanies Lestat
at that point in the book. Though the line about I know someone who would make a better vampire
than you is still there. There are also fore more scenes that are the same. I also found that the plot in
the movie and the plot in the book occur at the same time. The plot occurs when, Louis and Claudia a
6 year old girl decide to kill their creator, Leastat and move to Paris. Lestat loved the blood of man
and women. He would bite, and then kill. Louis hated that. He survived on rats and chickens. Louis

The Theoretical Frameworks Within Social Psychology Essay
Behaviorism is one of the main theoretical frameworks within social psychology, its main objective is
to predict and control human behavior. The approach of this paper aims to provide a broad overview
regarding to the historical background that contributed to the emergence of this theory, its founders,
and their philosophical and methodological foundations of behaviorism. Behaviorism is primarily
focused on observable behavior rather than on the thought process or emotion. This school of thought
can be split into two main fields: Classical conditioning (Pavlov, Watson) and Operant conditioning
(Thorndike, Skinner) Classical conditioning can be defined as reflexive or automatic type of learning
in which a stimulus acquires the capacity to evoke a response that was originally evoked by another
stimulus. (McLeod, 2013) This means taking a neutral stimulus and pairing it with an unconditional
stimulus that provides the unconditioned response. Operant conditioning is not concerned with
automatic responses or reflexes. The science behind operant conditioning is learned behavior and
autonomous responses. It bases the responses on reward and punishment system to observe if it
strengthens or weakens a certain conscious behavior. Dr. Ivan Pavlov was a Russian scientist who
lived from 1849 1936. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology. Trying to study the digestive
system of dogs, he came a cross a legendary discovery. Pavlov birthed the first theory of behaviorism,

Research Paper On Synchronized Swimming
Synchronized swimming is known as both an art and a sport. It is the most glamorous sport I ever see,
girls have the grace and femininity of a Classic Ballet dancer. They use sparkling costumes and a lot
of waterproof make up. Swimmers perform a dance routine that starts on the deck of the pool, where
they make poses, and take to the water in ostensibly artistic fashion. The sport requires great strength,
endurance, grace, and timing. They also have to smile the whole time, even if their teammate kicks
them in the face during the performance. Accordingly to this, that is why people like me, see it as an
art thing not a sport. It looks so easy when you see the swimmers doing their performance without any
efforts. But then, my daughter who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People don t think of the actual athleticism the sport requires. Synchro is an extremely demanding
sport, swimmers have to work at maximum at every practice. Consequently, Synchronized swimming
is harder than regular swimming, because they have to be good swimmers too, fast and coordinated.
They swim miles, contrarily to popular belief. Therefore, they do sprints, they do anything that will
make them faster and stronger. But on top of that, they do tons of eggbeater drills, which is the kick
that they use to stay standing out of the water and do the dancing with their arms. They have to stay on
the count in routine, count the music, check their patterns, make sure they have good extension, keep
our shoulders dry in eggbeater, scull the entire time. Synchro couldn t even be compared to swimming
or dance, because is both and more so is twice harder or even more. Synchro requires every muscle in
the body, most of which are never used in life, so that means even more training to get those muscles
developed. Synchro is all about body control. It needs that the swimmer has knowledge of a lot of

The Discovery Of The Staircase
Humans are instinctually curious animals due to their frontal lobe, which causes higher thinking and a
desire for knowledge. The desire for knowledge and higher thinking often leads people to travel due to
the possibility to gain new experiences and discover something new. The mystery behind certain
iconic tourist sights that are brought to light through photography often intrigues and sparks curiosity
in humans with the promise of new knowledge and discovery. The Miraculous Staircase of Saint
Joseph in the Chapel of Loretto in Santa Fe, New Mexico offers mystery through the unknown and
unexplainable questions that have risen throughout the years regarding the stair cases history and
religious background. The mixture between the unanswered questions concerning the history of the
staircase and its baffling architecture captured through photography throughout the years cause the
stair case to be a focal point of many curious tourist minds in Santa Fe. The Chapel of Loretto was
finished in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1878. The chapel was beautiful, but it was missing a way to
access the choir loft that was twenty two feet up. Upset by this, the nuns of the chapel prayed to Saint
Joseph the Master Carpenter (Helix to Heaven). According to sources, on the ninth day of the sisters
praying a stranger showed up with a donkey and carpentry tools to help with the predicament. He built

Tumour-Associated Macrophages Case Study
2.3.5. Tumour associated macrophages
Macrophages are inherently plastic cells, and this adaptability can be exploited by the tumor to elicit
distinct functions at different stages of tumor progression. Less information is available about the
complexity of individual macrophage activities and their associated molecular profiles in cancer.
Many subpopulations of TAMs exist within a tumor, which probably change temporally during tumor
development and geographically depending upon of their location within the tumor micro
environment. For example, TAMs recruited to hypoxic areas promote tumour angiogenesis, whereas
TAMs at the tumor stroma border play an active part in invasion and angiogenesis.
TAMs produce epidermal growth factor (EGF) that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Association of cancer cells with TAMs throughout the tumour significantly increases their motility,
this gets further amplified when cancer cells are found in close proximity to perivascular TAMs.
Moreover, cancer cells were observed to invade blood vessels only where perivascular TAMs were
located.
Reduction in macrophage infiltration, lead to concomitant decrease in circulating cancer cells. In
addition, the EGF CSF paracrine loop is also important for intravasation, as blocking either signaling
pathway lead to a significant reduction in the number of blood borne cancer cells. Cancer cells and
macrophages also use collagen fibres as tram lines to rapidly travel through the stroma. Many of these
fibres are tethered to blood vessels, resulting in cancer cells accumulating at these vessels. The density
of these fibres is regulated by macrophages, at least during development. (Joyce Pollard, 2009),

Case Study on Nol
Introduction
In November 1997, the acquisition of APL by NOL was successful. As compared to the larger US
based APL; NOL was a small Singapore firm. Through this acquisition, it appeared that NOL was
ready to become an industry leader in the shipping industry. Thus this acquisition is a strategy through
which NOL buys a controlling, 100 per cent, interest in APL with the intent of making the acquired
firm a subsidiary business within its portfolio. Thus APL became a wholly owned subsidiary of
Singapore based NOL, a global transportation and logistics company engaged in shipping and related

Although both financial and strategic controls are important, on a relative basis financial controls are
vital to headquarters evaluation of each SBU; strategic controls are also critical to the headquarters
efforts to determine whether the business has formed an effective portfolio of businesses and whether
those businesses are being successfully managed.
Sharing competencies among units within an SBU is an important characteristic of the SBU form of
the multi divisional structure. The drawback to the SBU structure is that multi faceted businesses often
have difficulties in communicating this complex business model to stockholders. Strategic Leadership
and Style
NOL appointed a foreigner, Denmark national Flemming Jacobs as its new CEO to run the business in
June 1999. Flemmings was a respected veteran from the shipping industry s leading firm Maersk.
Strategic leadership is the ability to anticipate, envision, maintain flexibility and empower others to
create strategic change as necessary. The ability to attract and then manage human capital may be the
most critical of the strategic leader s skills, especially in light of the fact that not being able to fill key
positions with talented human capital constrains the firm growth.
A firm s ability to achieve a competitive advantage and earn above returns is compromised when
strategic leader fail to respond appropriately and quickly to changes in the complex global
environment. The inability

High School Musical Analysis
When watching a movie about high schoolers, there are usually many different groups of students who
all conform to one social group only. Take the movie High School Musical for example. There is
specifically one scene devoted to a song about fitting in with the status quo . There are stereotypical
groups such as jocks, nerds, theater geeks, skater kids, and the popular kids in this movie and in other
movies like it. Each of these groups can be broken down and explained more in depth. When thinking
of a jock, people would most likely picture a muscular, sweaty guy wearing some sort of jersey. A
stereotypical jock is usually also fairly popular, so there is some overlap between the groups in some
cases. Everybody knows their name and whenever people talk to them, the subject of sports usually
comes up. People ask questions like, How s the team looking this year? or When do you have
practice? Being a jock doesn t necessarily mean that your grades are bad, but with practices every
evening or two to three hours, finding time to study and work can be difficult for jocks. Teachers
usually like jocks and they might ask them questions about the game from the week before. This bond
between jocks and teachers can give the jocks an advantage. The teachers might be more lenient when
it comes to assignments if they know that the jock has a big game coming up or had a tournament the
weekend before. Nerds are on the opposite end of the spectrum. They tend to spend their free time

through four psychological functions: sensation, intuition, feeling and thinking. One function being
dominant for a person s entire life. Katherine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers
wrote a book making it easier to understand how these four functions make up one s personality. They
came up with 16 variations of the four functions which indicated two were preferred, one dominant

The evaluation starts with an explanation of criteria for a quality mission statement; then assesses
whether Home Depot and Nike meet such criteria. The assessment will show that the mission

In the scholarly article entitled The Relevance of Mission Statements: Analysing the Antecedents of

proclaims that high levels of mission comprehension ambiguity in mission statements cause a
detrimental impact on motivational power (pp. 898 899). The ambiguity and length of the mission
statement fails to meet the criteria for clarity. The sheer length of space taken in the previous
paragraph to cite the mission statement serves as evidence of its failure to meet criteria for shortness,
sharpness, and specificity. In the textbook Strategic Management for Organizations, Abraham (2012)
defines a mission statement as a concise statement and declares, It should not contain statements of
values, strategies, or objectives (although many companies make this error) (p. 40). Home Depot is
one of those many companies who made this error by openly incorporating eight core values.
Furthermore, the length and vagueness also make the mission statement quite forgettable. The term
broad is used to describe the company s selection of products, but can also be used to describe its
mission statement. In illustrating the criteria to be realistic, Kotler affirms, The company should avoid

Greek and Roman Architectural Influences in Modern Society...
There are many imitations, and reproductions of Greek and Roman forms in the modern society of
today. Even though the times of the great Ancient Greek and Roman Empires have passed, people of
today are still able to honor their legacy with their long lasting influences on modern society today,
especially in architecture. If one just looks at today s style of buildings, they can see the similarities
between the two different time spans.
Back in the golden days of Greece, one of the top priorities to the Grecian people was how big and
impressive their way of life was, and this included their houses, and public buildings. The primary
type of definitive Greek building was the temple. Many of these temples were built on a large hill

( Classical Greek Architecture 616) (Reid 26)
Along came the Mycenaean Period after the Minoan Period, in 1500 BC. This mainland Grecian
society was very different from the Minoans. While the Minoans of Crete were laidback, these
Grecians were much more militaristic and practical, much like how the Roman Empire was, except
there were individual communities often warring with each other. Also, the Mycenaean cities were
dominated by gigantic citadels, or huge fortresses, that were strategically placed on ground that was
higher than the rest of the city, and were protected by massive walls that were made of limestone,
which were entered by a great set of fortified gates. There are some similarities between the
Mycenaean and Minoan people. Much like the Minoan palaces, the grand house for the important
members of the Mycenaean group had many large rooms that were built around a central courtyard as
well. The central courtyard had a distinctive feature called the megaron, which was an elliptical hall
that was used for both domestic and ceremonial purposes. It took up one side of the courtyard and had
a grand front porch and vestibule. Other than the megaron in the courtyard, the only other difference
between the two periods was that in the Mycenaean Period, the rooms of the palace were much
smaller and more compact, again resembling the practicality of Rome s architecture instead of the
grandness and beauty of Grecian architecture. (Reid 26)

The Chinese Inventions
The Chinese invented many things in their time and paved the way for many new inventions
throughout the world. The Chinese were more advanced than most countries. They invented the
compass, which allowed for further travel aboard ships. They even knew that iron had magnetic
properties. So this proves that the Chinese were advanced. These inventions are still used today and
were adopted from the Chinese. The Europeans adopted inventions like the crossbow and the gun. The
most important invention from the Chinese is paper. Paper still heavily influences mankind today.
Paper has been around long before we even thought. Paper was made from bamboo fibers at the time.
The Chinese even had a paper maker. In document two the text reads,

Essay On A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings
A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings was published in 1955 by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This book
examines the magical and realistic elements of the story. The book starts with the two main characters
Pelayo and Elisenda s finding an old man with wings along the shore. Therefore, the people begin to
consider that he may be an angel. The surrounding community and Father Gonzaga flock to visit this
old man the following day. Eventually the crowds slender down and he flies away one day.
Throughout A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings the community had plenty of evidence to
conclude that the older man was indeed an angel and the story expresses how we treat a God like
figure. Once the community found out there was an older man with wings that could possibly be an
angel, large groups of people and Father Gonzaga began to come and take a look for themselves.
These people found out that he definitely had real wings and spoke a weird/different language.
However people wanted a reaction out of him so they began to burn him. The man didn t get mad, he
was just in a large amount of pain. This showed he was a powerful man that ... Show more content on

This book looked at a supernatural character and dealt with magical and realistic aspects. During the
course of the story, the community had a large amount of evidence that the man was an angel and it
represented how humans mistreat God like figures. The community had evidence of a special person
with wings, different language and a powerful figure. Therefore, they should have believed it to be a
real angel. Also these people disrespected and looked past the angel due to the fact of it not being what
they pictures a God figure or angle to seem like. Even though in reality it had very similar elements of
how a real God figure would arrive on earth. A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings dealt with a real
angel and individuals looked pasted the evidence and mistreated an important

The Circadian Rhythms
Each day, when the sun rises and sets, mammals and plants alike conform together with a celestial
rhythm that instructs the activities of the day. The human body, along with nearly all other mammals,
endogenously oscillates on a rhythm that coincides with these daily activities. However, when
mammals are placed in an environment void of nearly all outside influences, also known as zeitgebers,
these rhythms continue to run at specified intervals. Thus, the endogenous rhythm must be governed
by an internal master clock. This master clock has been discovered to be the suprachiasmatic nuclei
which are located in the anterior portion of the hypothalamus. Circadian rhythms are endogenous
rhythms that mammals and plants exhibit. The term circadian was established in the 1950 s and is
derived from the Latin prefix circa which means approximately, and dies which means day. (2) Nearly
all living things have circadian rhythms that approximate to a 24 hour cycle; however there are some
differences in lengths varying from species to species. (1) Numerous physiological processes are
governed by the circadian rhythm, and by effect nearly every process in the body can be contributed to
a rhythm of circadian fashion. The master clock of the circadian rhythm for biological processes is the
suprachiasmatic nuclei, or SCN. (1)(2) The SCN is located in the anterior portion of the
hypothalamus, posterior to and slightly inferior to the frontal lobe of the brain. The SCN is believed

Ranger Killed During Rescue Of Climbers On Mount Rainer
If you were stuck on the top of a mountain with a broken leg wouldn t you want to get rescued? I think
the climbers should get rescued because rescue attempts can draw attention to the hazards and safety
of climbing, and the rescuers can become heroes. That s why people who put themselves at risk do
have the right to get rescued.
One reason people should have the right to rescue services is, when people get rescued it can draw
attention to hazards and safety of climbing. In the article Ranger Killed During Rescue of Climbers on
Mount Rainer it says, ...The loss of our son will draw appropriate attention to the hazards and safety
requirements and commitment to be involved in the profession and sport he so loved. (Seattle
Times,29). This

  • 2. Midsummers Night Dream How does the play within the play enhance your enjoyment of the rest of A Midsummer Night s Dream? If not, why not? I would argue that A Midsummer Night s Dream is one of Shakespeare s greatest comedies. Comedy is in abundance in A Midsummer Night s Dream, especially in the play within the play . The play within the play is a key characteristic in A Midsummer Night s Dream and deserves a thorough analysis as it holds a tight link to the main plot of this play. This part of the play takes up most of act V and allows a cheerful and comical ending to the play. The play within the play adds deeper meaning and understanding to the play as an entirety and it mirrors certain aspects of the play as a whole. The play that group of ... Yet the Oberon soon makes Puke correct his mistake and reunites the lovers correctly. Lysander and Hermia fall back in love with the help of some more love juice. Helina eventually gets her wish. Demetrius is as in love with her as she is in love is with him. As if there wasn t enough characters getting upset and confused, Shakespeare also adds nearly an equal measure of confusion into the play within the play . Just as the Athenian lovers were bewildered and fooled, so too was Pyramus. He mistakenly believed that his love Thisbe has been killed by the lion. This almost exact mirroring of the main themes and ideas of A Midsummer Night s Dream enhances the quality and enjoyment of the play within the play and the entire play itself. The play within the play gave me something to compare my views on A Midsummer Night s Dream against. The impact that the play within the play has on the audience is very subtle yet it is a major link in the play as a whole. When A Midsummer Night s Dream begins it has all the making of a tragedy. The father who refuses to let her daughter wed the man she is in love with, who instead orders her to marry a man who he sees fit. Hermias father wants her killed for disobeying her. • 3. Causes Of Mfecane Explaining Mfecane as a multipolar cause and showing the flaws in the unipolar cause schools of thought. Introduction. During the 1820 s the southern area of Africa went through a drastic population growth and radical social, political changes, economic and ecological changes. This period was characterised as a period of migration, battles, food deprivation, and suffering for most of the kingdoms of Southern Africa . This period of wars and migration in Africa become known as Mfecane. There are many schools of thought as to why these migrations and wars took place. These schools of thought, are based on specific causes for the Mfecane. The causes are trade, environmental changes, political changes and population growth. These three kingdoms according to Web was known as Sobhuza s Ngwane Dhlamini, Dingiswayo s Mthethwa and Zwide s Ndwandwe . Thus did Web conclude due to the fact that all these kingdoms were present at the same time competition ware high and resources were low, this led to wars and migration often associated with Mfecane. • 4. The Individual in Judaism and Hinduism Through the Bhagavad Gita and the Book of Job we see the similar ways that different religions affirm that the individual can t have the same level of knowledge as the divine. We also, however, see that while Hinduism offers an explanation for this knowledge disparity, and offers a path of empowerment that allows the individual to strive for the knowledge level of the divine, Judaism simply deems that we are insignificant beings when compared to God, and that we can t ever achieve nearly the same amount of knowledge as God. The Book of Job tells those who consider the bible to be a holy text, namely Jewish and Christian people, the story of Job. His story tells us that we, as individual human beings, are lesser beings than God and can t know as much as God. At the end of the story, after hearing God mention the greatness of his creations, Job finally breaks and admits that he was wrong to question God, as Job, an individual human being, has a limited amount of knowledge compared to God. While God is pleased with this response from the previously dubious Job, he is not happy with Zophar, Eliphaz, and Bildad for claiming to know why God acted in the manner in which he did while they were consoling Job. God relents however, and forgives them after Job prays for them. God is so delighted with Job for withstanding all of the punishments Satan had put forth upon him that he rewarded Job with two times more of everything he had lost, including his children. • 5. President Hindenburg s Influence On The Rise Of Power President Hindenburg was one of many contributing factors to Hitler s rise to power. Power is the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behaviour of others or the course of events. President Hindenburg passed on a role in government to Hitler, but Hindenburg took the risk and didn t know what he was in for. The argument produced is about the importance of President Hindenburg s actions, what effect the Great Depression made on Hitler s rise to power and the long term resentment about the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles which was established after World War One, contributed to the embarrassment and humiliation Germany was faced with. Land and Military were lost, but most of all respect from the German population . At this stage Germany became remote and the only person German people had hope in was Hitler. To the German community Hitler was their ultimate saviour . The combined actions provided rich material for Hitler to use in supporting him in the rise of power. The Treaty also started a process where the German economy was rebuilt bases around the loans led by the US . This made the nation especially weak when the Great Depression came. The German economy fell soon after due to invasion from the French as it was impossible for Germany to pay the reparations. The German currency lost its value and this was the start to the middle classes falling into poverty . In 1924 the crisis was ended by the Dawes Plan, which re established the value of the ... • 6. 3d Printing And Its Effects On The World Of Tissue... 3D Printing On the forefront of tissue scaffold fabrication is 3D printing. 3D printers have a multitude of advantages over traditional scaffold fabrication methods. High print precision allows fibers to be deposited into 3D structures with finely tunable dimensions, 3D printers also have the ability to incorporate multiple materials into the same structure through multiple extrusion heads. Jakus et al. used a 3D extrusion based printer to create a graphene and polylactide co glycolide scaffold and showed it could create a 3D graphene structure (3DG) with features as small as 100 um and as large as 10cm offering a large range of applications. They also showed that 3DG supports human mesenchymal stem cell (hMSC) adhesion, viability, proliferation, and neurogenic differentiation with significant upregulation of glial and neuronal genes [9]. The ease in fabrication and the ability to precisely modify structure with 3D printers allows for opportunities in a wide range of tissue engineering applications. Incorporating growth factors and other bioactive molecules into a CP It is often desirable to modify the material properties of a polymer to better optimize it for different applications. Critical properties that affect the possible applications of the polymer include conductivity, porosity, hydrophobicity, degradability. • 7. Analysis Of The Poem Dover Beach By Matthew Arnold Monelle Shuman English Lit 202 K. Morefield December 1, 2014 An Analysis of Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold Dover Beach is thought to be one of the best representations of the Victorian Period all together. It portrays the mood and tone of what the people experienced and felt at that time. Around the same time it was written, London had just experienced a massive boom in their population, growing from 2 to 6 million citizens. At the same time, London was becoming one of the first in the country to move towards industrialization, causing some to lose their jobs due to machinery performing them better and faster. People began to feel useless with technology taking over so quickly. Many suffered from the expansion during the early part, losing all hope of finding happiness and giving this moment in time a new name; A Time of Troubles . Many other authors, like Matthew Arnold, began writing their personal accounts of what they experienced or saw others experiencing, giving the feeling of melancholy. The reason why Dover Beach represents the Victorian period is because in the way Arnold wrote it, he didn t ground himself or stick to one specific subject. He creates a mood by using a variety of images, metaphors, similes, and adjectives. The narrator seems lonely, not mentioning any other person around him. One of the other major problems being experienced during this time are also represented in this poem. That problem is the loss of faith. Because of the new developments, ... • 8. Baby Driver Reflection I was hesitant to watch Baby Driver, despite liking the trailers and talent involved, because I have yet to see a full Edgar Wright film. I ve seen parts of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. I liked what I saw, but I wasn t sure I wanted to have my introduction to Wright be his fifth film. Well, my willpower broke and I m happier for it. Baby Driver focuses on the eponymous Baby (Ansel Elgort), a getaway driver working for a crime boss (the now disgraced Kevin Spacey). Things get more complicated when Baby meets Debora (Lilly James), a waitress who steals his heart, and gets involved in a job with some volatile coconspirators. Of the several joys of this film, not the least of them is acting. That starts with Elgort, who is impressive as Baby. He makes him someone we instantly like, with his cool demeanor and infectious enthusiasm for music. We root for him right away, and that holds when we learn more about him and Elgort convincingly portrays those depths. As much as I liked Elgort, I probably liked James work even more. She does a lot with little to work with as Debora. Her character doesn t have much depth on the page, but James has a magnetic screen presence. She nails each scene and makes you believe her character is a real person with many dimensions, even though the movie doesn t really explore them. For the supporting cast, Spacey is quite good as the crime boss Doc. He s got a menacing vibe about his serious persona and, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Role of Spirituality in Health Care Essay Spiritual Assessment Grand Canyon University: HLT 310 January 20, 2013 Spirituality is a delicate topic, and some may not be open to talking about their beliefs. Spirituality is generally understood to be an essential aspect of being human (Lyndo Lam, 2012). Assessing the spiritual needs of patients is a key component in the nursing process. A compassionate and thoughtful nurse can make a patient feel more secure, making it easier for him to express his spirituality. However, that is not to say that active learning is the best option of learning for all. To determine how well students learn while not physically in a classroom we need to evaluate how well learning takes place in on line classroom environments. Skorton (2013) documented that an online course has the potential to transform higher educations with substantial benefits for students, their eventual employers, and participating communities. Therefore, evaluation of learning environments indicates a real measure of the effectiveness of what is learned. Experiments have shown the way that it is beneficial to a person s daily activities or student however; from experiences, there should be a means to demonstrate what is learned. Did learning take place, at least to meet defined objectives from a class or other learning environments? To me learning via collaborative, instructional, and with a team of mixed backgrounds can promote a higher degree (Jones 1995). My initial thoughts on this subject were that active learning seems to be a bit more difficult in an online course that it would be sitting in an actual classroom with the personal and physical interactions of others. The BOJ s top decision making body is called the Policy Board , which decides its operations and sets up guidelines as to the monetary policy. The Policy Board is composed of nine members; a governor, two deputy governors and six executive directors. The majority rule applies to the board decision making. As for the process of appointments of the Policy Board members, the Cabinet first appoints them, and then it has to have the Diet approve the appointment ( Organization ). As the central bank of Japan, the BOJ broadly has two objectives, that is, stabilizing prices and the financial system. The price stability is set to be two percent in terms of the annual rate of change in the consumer price index ( Price stability ). Regarding the relation with the government, the Bank of Japan Act was fixed in 1997 and made clear the independence of the BOJ from the government. The Act bans the Cabinet from firing the board members in the middle of their terms. 1.2 Response to the 2008 financial crisis The BOJ took a series of monetary policies responding to the 2008 financial crisis. The approach of this paper aims to provide a broad overview regarding to the historical background that contributed to the emergence of this theory, its founders, and their philosophical and methodological foundations of behaviorism. Behaviorism is primarily focused on observable behavior rather than on the thought process or emotion. This school of thought can be split into two main fields: Classical conditioning (Pavlov, Watson) and Operant conditioning (Thorndike, Skinner) Classical conditioning can be defined as reflexive or automatic type of learning in which a stimulus acquires the capacity to evoke a response that was originally evoked by another stimulus. (McLeod, 2013) This means taking a neutral stimulus and pairing it with an unconditional stimulus that provides the unconditioned response. Operant conditioning is not concerned with automatic responses or reflexes. The science behind operant conditioning is learned behavior and autonomous responses. It bases the responses on reward and punishment system to observe if it strengthens or weakens a certain conscious behavior. Dr. Ivan Pavlov was a Russian scientist who lived from 1849 1936. Many subpopulations of TAMs exist within a tumor, which probably change temporally during tumor development and geographically depending upon of their location within the tumor micro environment. There are stereotypical groups such as jocks, nerds, theater geeks, skater kids, and the popular kids in this movie and in other movies like it. Each of these groups can be broken down and explained more in depth. When thinking of a jock, people would most likely picture a muscular, sweaty guy wearing some sort of jersey. If one just looks at today s style of buildings, they can see the similarities between the two different time spans. Back in the golden days of Greece, one of the top priorities to the Grecian people was how big and impressive their way of life was, and this included their houses, and public buildings. The primary type of definitive Greek building was the temple. Many of these temples were built on a large hill known as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ( Classical Greek Architecture 616) (Reid 26) Along came the Mycenaean Period after the Minoan Period, in 1500 BC. This mainland Grecian society was very different from the Minoans. While the Minoans of Crete were laidback, these Grecians were much more militaristic and practical, much like how the Roman Empire was, except there were individual communities often warring with each other. Also, the Mycenaean cities were dominated by gigantic citadels, or huge fortresses, that were strategically placed on ground that was higher than the rest of the city, and were protected by massive walls that were made of limestone, which were entered by a great set of fortified gates. There are some similarities between the Mycenaean and Minoan people. Much like the Minoan palaces, the grand house for the important members of the Mycenaean group had many large rooms that were built around a central courtyard as well. The central courtyard had a distinctive feature called the megaron, which was an elliptical hall that was used for both domestic and ceremonial purposes. It took up one side of the courtyard and had a grand front porch and vestibule. Other than the megaron in the courtyard, the only other difference between the two periods was that in the Mycenaean Period, the rooms of the palace were much smaller and more compact, again resembling the practicality of Rome s architecture instead of the grandness and beauty of Grecian architecture. • 44. Essay On A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings was published in 1955 by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This book examines the magical and realistic elements of the story. The book starts with the two main characters Pelayo and Elisenda s finding an old man with wings along the shore. Therefore, the people begin to consider that he may be an angel. The surrounding community and Father Gonzaga flock to visit this old man the following day. Eventually the crowds slender down and he flies away one day. Throughout A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings the community had plenty of evidence to conclude that the older man was indeed an angel and the story expresses how we treat a God like figure. Once the community found out there was an older man with wings that could possibly be an angel, large groups of people and Father Gonzaga began to come and take a look for themselves. These people found out that he definitely had real wings and spoke a weird/different language. However people wanted a reaction out of him so they began to burn him. This book looked at a supernatural character and dealt with magical and realistic aspects. During the course of the story, the community had a large amount of evidence that the man was an angel and it represented how humans mistreat God like figures. The community had evidence of a special person with wings, different language and a powerful figure. Therefore, they should have believed it to be a real angel. Also these people disrespected and looked past the angel due to the fact of it not being what they pictures a God figure or angle to seem like. Even though in reality it had very similar elements of how a real God figure would arrive on earth. • 45. The Circadian Rhythms Each day, when the sun rises and sets, mammals and plants alike conform together with a celestial rhythm that instructs the activities of the day. The human body, along with nearly all other mammals, endogenously oscillates on a rhythm that coincides with these daily activities. However, when mammals are placed in an environment void of nearly all outside influences, also known as zeitgebers, these rhythms continue to run at specified intervals. Thus, the endogenous rhythm must be governed by an internal master clock. This master clock has been discovered to be the suprachiasmatic nuclei which are located in the anterior portion of the hypothalamus. Circadian rhythms are endogenous rhythms that mammals and plants exhibit. The term circadian was established in the 1950 s and is derived from the Latin prefix circa which means approximately, and dies which means day. (2) Nearly all living things have circadian rhythms that approximate to a 24 hour cycle; however there are some differences in lengths varying from species to species. (1) Numerous physiological processes are governed by the circadian rhythm, and by effect nearly every process in the body can be contributed to a rhythm of circadian fashion. The master clock of the circadian rhythm for biological processes is the suprachiasmatic nuclei, or SCN. (1)(2) The SCN is located in the anterior portion of the hypothalamus, posterior to and slightly inferior to the frontal lobe of the brain. The SCN is believed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
