considerable challenge, primarily due to the depth and complexity of Orwell's insights and the
need to analyze and interpret them effectively. Orwell's reflections on writing encompass a
myriad of topics, including language, politics, society, and the human condition, requiring a

Moreover, delving into Orwell's essays demands a meticulous examination of his stylistic
techniques, rhetorical strategies, and philosophical underpinnings. It involves grappling with the
nuances of his prose, his use of allegory and symbolism, and his relentless pursuit of truth and
clarity in expression.

2. Eukaryote Research Paper
The term eukaryote encompasses most of the visible species on the planet. A
eukaryotic cell is one who s genetic material and organelles are bound by membranes,
as opposed to a prokaryote who s nucleoid and organelles are not membrane bound
and sit within the cell membrane in the protoplasm this grouping is considered the
most fundamental classifications of organisms.
Among numerous compartments and structures, most eukaryotic genetic information
is held within the nucleus, in chromosomes. The information itself is a degenerate
code, with single units called nucleotides. The main blueprint structure is called
deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA. The product of DNA governs almost all processes
within every living cell; with so many millions of
3. The Precious Metal Mines Of Sicily
Originally founded as a trading post for the Etruscans, Rome was located along the
Tiber River. Much of the early civilization s success can be credited to the
agricultural resources of the Italian Peninsula. Wheat and barley were harvested
not only for consumption, but also for barter and payment for governmental taxes.
The precious metal mines of Sicily also provided resources for additional growth
and development. Other resources of the area include olive trees and grapevines,
which were introduced and cultivated by Greeks living within the empires
boundaries (Acrobatiq, 2014, p. 46). In contrast, ancient Greece s terrain proved to
be difficult. The area was covered in rugged mountains and valleys filled with
rocky soils. This was less than desired for the production of prominent crops like
wheat, but an ideal location for the growing of grapes and olives. The Greek
civilizations instead focused on nautical trade, gaining authority of the most
competitive waterway and natural resource of the time, the Mediterranean Sea
(Acrobatiq, 2014, p. 40). Part B: Cultural Characteristics Grecian culture was
greatly integrated into Roman life. Combined with ancient Italic religion and
Etruscan ceremonies, as well as Greek and non Greek gods and goddesses, the
Roman cultural was largely polytheistic for many years (Acrobatiq, 2014, p. 51).
Many deities existed, touching on virtually every aspect of daily Roman life. Some
of these gods and goddesses included Vesta and Janus, who
4. Criminal Justice Theory Summary
The article seeks to address the question of why there is so little criminal justice
theory. The thesis of the article is that disregarded associations between the
inconvenience of political power and authoritative structures in the criminal justice
framework hold a vital component to understanding the tasks of this framework, in
regular and additionally atypical circumstances. The article begins by discussing the
absence of theoretical initiative in criminal justiceresearch.
A notion of this article is that consensus and conflict theories neglect to conform to
particular parts of criminal justice procedures and results; in which new theoretical
improvements are important to empower more significant research. It presents the
argument that the lack of political power that is coordinated toward specific crime
connected objectives, criminal justice systems, and subsystems have a tendency to
be loosely coupled. Loose coupling is intended to evoke elements that are receptive
to each other, as well as keeping up independent identities and some proof of physical
or coherent separateness.
To start with, be that as it may, Hagan accentuated that loosely coupled association
have a one of a kind ability to retain changes in the encompassing political
environment. When a political change comes quickly or surprisingly, even an

The clear and concise abstract of the article makes it clear that this is no simple task.
The thesis was clearly stated multiple times and discussed. The author used research
articles to explain the neglected connections between political power and
organizational forms. Another strength of the article was the organization. The
literature review was detailed and clearly written. Finally, the author provided an

5. The Jacksonian Democratic Party
When George Henry Evans cited the unalienable rights of the Declaration of
Independence and that, to secure these rights against the undue influence of other
classes of society, prudence... dictates the necessity of the organization of a party,
who shall...prevent dangerous combinations to subvert these indefeasible and
fundamental privileges , he called for a party to become the sentinel of the original
American democracy. And for many, the Jacksonian Democratic Partyfilled that role.
The Democrats, who pursued a democracy that entailed economic and social
independence for the common citizen, faced harsh opposition from the Whig Party in
the Second American Party System. But apart from the political tensions of the era,

But Daniel Webster s response postulates that the veto message sows...the seeds of

However, given the vast amount of influence the government had in the bank, the
President would have had equally vast power. Additionally, these powers heretofore
unknown and unheard of must also apply to the establishment of a National Bank,
which on several occasions has been accused of being a grossly unconstitutional use
of federal power. Therefore, Jackson s actions indeed represented honorable goals of
economic equality. In the same vein, the Charles River Bridge vs. Warren Bridge
Supreme Court Case highlighted the benefits of laissez faire economics, a
fundamental principle of the Democrats. Chief Justice Roger B. Taney s declared
that, while the rights of private property are sacredly guarded, we must not forget,
that the community also have rights, and that the happiness and well being of every

6. My First Year Of Elementary School
As a child, I always struggled in the area reading and writing. I was in the first
grade when I came face to face with the issue. I wasn t prepared like the other kids
were in my class, they all seemed to thrive more and more each day in the subject.
I didn t, and nothing the teacher was doing with the subject would stick with me
nor did it make me understand better. I felt out of place and different from
everyone else in class because I couldn t do what seemed to be easy for the rest of
them. Struggling wasn t an option for me, I was determined to find a way to catch up
with all the others. I wanted to excel and understand reading and writingclearly
because I realized that this was very important to have for myself later in the
future. By my determination then I changed the way I see reading and writing
now. During my first year of elementary school, I came to realize that reading and
writing were a challenge for me. Understanding how these skills were was making
me want to learn even more. My teacher, Mrs. Baker, noticed how I was falling
behind from the rest of the students. She wanted to help me, so she told me to ask
my mom to help me at home. She offered me books in her classroom to take home
to read, which I did. Allowing me to take books from her classroom allowed me to
have access to many genres that I would like. I read every night with my mother
who helped me expand my reading and writing. I told my mother how I wanted to

7. Good Drivers, Good And Good
DRIVER HABITS, GOOD AND BAD
Did you ever hear anyone admit to being a bad driver? Probably not, because
everybody thinks they re a good driver. They also think that everybody else is a
menace on the road. If we perfect drivers ride with another driver, we can usually
find fault with their performance. Believe it or not, if they ride with us, they can
return the favor. How can we tell a good driver from a bad one? The number of traffic
accidents they have had would be an obvious indicator, but not necessarily the only
one. There are drivers who have habits that cause others to have accidents.
For instance, imagine you are following two slow cars, and when the way is clear,
you signal and pull out to overtake them. As you come along side the first one, he
begins to pull out to overtake the car in front of him, not seeing you because you
are in his blind spot . You might have a crash which he causes, and he goes on his
merry way. Many people drive with a blind spot on either side of their cars, roughly
alongside the rear fenders. It s simply a bad habit on their part, of not adjusting the
mirrors.
The solution is to set the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

8. Powerlessness In Frances Burney s A Mastectomy
Frances Burney started feeling pain in her breast in 1810, and in September 1811 a
mastectomy was performed to her. In her letter A Mastectomy she describes the
illness and the operation, her feelings and fears, to her sister Esther Burney. The
letter tells a story of a battle of control and against the feelingof powerlessness. It also
speaks of empowerment; writing is Burney s way of regaining control over her
operation and making it part of her own history. In this paper I attempt to find and
analyse the reasons for Burney s feeling of powerlessness, its describtion in the letter,
and the ways she tries to fight it. Although the moment when Fraces Burney as a
character of the text is most vulnerable is certainly during the... Show more content on

Kaye also speaks of control: Burney s hesitanse about beeing seen can be better
understood as a desire to maintain control over her inner and outer self (Kaye
1997, 46). It seems that being examined by a doctor was not an everyday matter for
a 19th centure woman, and Burney feels strongly about her chastity. But on this,
as in the scene where she resist of taking her robe de chambre off before the
surgery, Burney has to submit to the wishes of her husband and friends, and the
orders of her doctors. In addition to being physically revealed to the gaze of the
doctors, Burney also is being defined by her diagnosis. It makes her a sick person,
who has less authority of her own life and body, and who has to consult doctors
and obey their advice and orders. Her illness determinates the course of the rest of
her life, the operation leaving her body disformed. She begins to seek for moments
when she can feel like she is in control, deciding about her own life. I see in the text
two moments that clearly represent her wish for independence, for the chance to
make her own decisions. First, the moment when she resists of taking off her
dressing gown before the surgery; I was compelled, however, to submit to
9. Income Gap in Canada
Question One:
It is often said that in Canada, The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting
poorer. Respond. Be certain to differentiate between income and wealth. How has the
occupy movement contributed to this debate?
Inequality in Canada is a growing problem. As income rises for the rich and
remains the same for the poor, a gap is forming between Canada s highest and
lowest earners. This gap has sparked outrage by some, resulting in the Occupy
Movement, and apathy in others. However, it can indeed be said that in Canada the
rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
The reason for Canada s large gap in wealth is best explained by changes in labour
markets, changes in families and changes in public policies ... Show more content on

In fact, median net worth fell by $7,500 in 2005 in the lowest 10%, while
increasing by between $237,000 and $659,000 in the top 10%. Therefore, wealth
inequality rose as the highest earners were subject to wealth increases. When
considering this, it is wholly possible to understand the saying that the rich are
getting richer and the poor are getting poorer , as it is true. This was brought into the
spotlight by the Occupy Movement, and the slogan of We are the 99% . This, in
turn, begs the question; who are the one percent? The Canadian one percent are
compose of 246,000 people, whose income is $405,000 (Yalnizyan, 2010). This one
percent holds 13.8% of all incomes in Canada, and has seen its total income
double (Yalnizyan, 2010). In fact, this one percent of the population accumulated
32% of all growth in incomes from 1997 to 2007 (Yalnizyan, 2010). In comparison,
that same one percent only took 8% of all income growth in the 1950 s and 60 s
(Yalnizyan, 2010). So, as the one percent accumulates more wealth and more of the
growth in incomes, the gap grows. In response to the growing inequality between
rich and poor Canadians, and the growing wealth of the top 1%, the Occupy
Movement took to the streets in order to protest against the accumulation of the
majority of wealth by the minority of people. On October 15th, 2011, in 900 cities
across the world, thousands of average citizens protested for their rights to wealth
equality

In addition, since ACE is willing to invest in the necessary machine and guarantee at
least 100 engines per month, working with ACE would reduce cost of labor to
disassemble and repair damaged casting, and disruption cost as well as maintain
quality and ensure number of machines required
However, regardless of its advantage, sole sourcing of supply is usually considered
as risky decision since the company has to rely on the sole supplier. Therefore, it may
result in a catastrophic event which is delay in shipment or stop production if the sole
supplier has problems in terms of producing machines. Also, the supplier may become
complacent or financial problems may occur if ACE increases the cost of production.
Thus, maintaining the strong relationship between companies is crucial.

12. The Seventh Man Short Story
Should The Seventh Man forgive himself for his failure to save k.?
In the story The Seventh Man a the so called Seventh Man is someone who feels
responsible for his friends death, in a tsunami. The Seventh Man should not have to
feel responsible for his friends death. It isn t entirely his fault, but the cause of
mother nature and natural occurrences. He feels responsible however because he
thinks that their may have been enough time for The Seventh Man to grab his
friend, (k) from the ocean wave but he was frozen in shock and could not move.
Based on this The Seventh Man feels responsible for the death of his friend and has
guilt for life after these events. Based on this evidence from The Seventh Man he
probably should not have to feel bad about the death of his friend but more at
peace because of mother natures decision. Throughout the story the fact is
repeated over and that The Seventh Man does feel bad about his friends death but
he really should not have to, it really isn t his fault. If his feet did not freeze in
shock he still probably couldn t have saved K. It just wasn t meant to be that way,
it was Ks time to go and for some reason he was taken by that wave in the circle of
life. Some think it could have been different maybe if The Seventh Man was not
with K but based on knowledge from the story it probably was his time to go no
matter what. The death of K couldn t be caused by The Seventh Man because he
could have just as easily been

The Influences of C.G. Jung
Carl Gustav Jung was influenced by literature, symbolism, religion, and the occult
From a very young age. Jung s influencs remained with him as he became a doctor of
medicine and a psychological theorist. The philosophical, the supernatural, the
symbolic, the religious, and the occult all influenced Jung s area of psychological
expertise, making Jung s psychology not only unique to Jung, but also pioneering in
the field of general psychoanalysis.
In Ernest Gallo s article Synchronicity and the Archetypes. (Carl Jung s Doctrines) ,

It is therefor dangerous for humans in general to ignore the unconscious. Jung
writes Not only will Ignorance of the unconscious deprive him of the religious
experience, it will also blind him to his capacity for evil, hence making possible
for this evil to be projected and depriving him of his capacity to deal with it.
(Abstracts, 1976, 10:19). Despite Jung s insistence that psychology be empirical and
phenomenological rather than philosophical or metaphysical (Abstracts, 1976, 11.1),
Jung believed that psychologists must take religion into account in the analytic
process as it represents one of the most ancient and universal expressions of the
human mind (Abstracts, 1976, 11.1). Jung s concept of meaningful coincidence is
tied to the spiritual as well. This is evidenced when At certain moments of
heightened spiritual awareness, the archetypal meaning structure that spans the mind
and the world flashes into visibility (Gallo, 1994). Jung even goes so far as to
suggest that religion is an integral aspect of the healing process. In fact, Jung asserts
that many neuroses are never cured unless the religious factor is restored. (Moreno,
1970, p. 79). Jung says that side by side with the decline of religious life, the neuroses
grow noticeably more frequent... (Moreno, 1970, p. 79). Jung explains that
examination of the spiritual side of the patient is recommended as a means of a cure.
(Abstracts, 11:35). Furthermore, Jung maintains that

My nana is very catholic and very Irish so thing was something I had to see with or

changing from different name titles throughout the years. I loved the design inside
from the stair cases to the windows. This cathedral helped shape how Ireland is today
because it converts over 1500 years ago and has been a huge place for the Celtic
ways of worship. It is the National Cathedral of the Church of Ireland, and has
played a huge role in many people lives (StPatricksCathedral, 2017). Later that day
five of us left the group and went to get our rental car. Madi, Paige, Trey, Kaylin,

I believe Nike will be a strong performer. This is partly due to the fact that it is a

French Nouvelle Vague, also known as The French New Wave, is one of the most
influential and significant movements in the film history. The films produced during
French Nouvelle Vague has earned many praises and made a huge impact in the film

French Nouvelle Vague lasted from the late 1950s to early 1960s. The movement
was founded by a group of film critics who wrote for Cahiers du Cinema, a French
film journal. In the group of film critics, there were Francois Truffaut, Jacques

If the French Nouvelle Vague didn t happen and amazing directors of the movement
didn t exist, movies such as Bonnie and Clyde, Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield
wouldn t be the same without it. This shows the importance of The French New Wave
and the techniques and theories that came along with it. Movies nowadays adapt
those techniques and theories to look like they are today. The movement also gives

20. Life After Starting College
Having had various traumatic incidents in the past ten years, one of which was my
parents passing six years ago, within eighteen months of each other, I have finally

for starting college are my family and career choice. I took a look inside myself,
asked, What do I wantto do? . I remember thinking that I wanted find success, but
stay behind the scenes. At an early age, I knew I did not like being the center of

21. The Mormon Polygamy
INTRODUCTION
When one thinks about marriages or weddings in the United States, Americans may
often reminiscence on two individuals tying the knot. However, in the western
United States, and in parts of Canada, more and more people are practicing
polygamy, which is the act of an individual marrying another person(s), after one
already has a spouse. Although the practice is illegal, individuals within the
Fundamental Latter Day Saints Church partake in the activity, as it is a divine part
and calling of their religion. The FLDS is a break off sect off the mainstream
Mormon, or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Church. The Mormon
Church originally practiced polygamy, up until The Manifesto, which was issued in
1890, by Wilford Woodruff,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holding out Help, a non profit organization based in Utah, has sought out to help
people escape polygamist communities ( Holding Out Help ). Other than that, there
is not many resources or places available for the women that are seeking justice
from the harmful communities they grew up in Short Creek. I have discovered this
from my research, in addition to the lack of knowledge individuals have about the
mainstream Mormon Church, the FLDS, and polygamy. Although the Mormon
Church used to promote polygamy in the 19th century, they do not practice
polygamy, at least in this lifetime, according to Miller. They are two separate
entities, and many people get confused by this. I have seen this from my own
personal experiences, when I say that I have family from the state of Utah. Many
people believe that all that there is to do in Utah is have more than one wife. I am
not certain on who needs to make sure that there is a line of difference between the
Mormon Church and the Fundamental Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,
but there needs to be one if the Mormon Church wants separation from the FLDS
22. Conversation Analysis Paper
Conversation Analysis
Conversation analysis refers to a model of analyzing spoken communication or
interactions for the determination of how language develops within social contexts. It
is useful in understanding interactions with classroom settings, courtrooms and in
interviews (Sidnell, 2011). Conversation analysis provides a framework for assessing
specific aspects of an oral interaction, such as opening and closing, topic management,
adjacency pairs, feedback, preference organization, turn taking and repair. Opening
and closing is a crucial element of a conversation as it influences the starting and
finishing of oral interactions. Notably, different cultures have divergent approaches to
opening and closing conversations. Antaki (2011) illustrates that the place of the
conversation also influences the nature of opening and closing statements. For
instance, communication across online platforms, including social media networks
have different opening and closing approaches when compared to face to face
communication. Sidnell (2011) indicates that ... Show more content on

An effective conversation provides all participants with opportunities of contributing
to discourse. Conversation analysis seeks to establish the need for eliminating
possibilities of having overly dominant speakers within conversations (Wong Waring,
2010). Feedback mechanisms are also analyzed to determine whether conversations
provide participants with opportunities of providing responses. It is however notable
that feedback differs across cultures. Social media platform are designed to provide
users with opportunities of providing feedback or expressing their reactions to
specific content. However, the language used to provide feedback in social media
conversations may not be culturally relevant owing to the divergent cultural values of
members of online communities (Thurlow Mroczek,
23. Analysis Of Hills Like White Elephants
The short story Hills like White Elephants written by Ernest Hemingway contains lots
of hidden meaning and symbolism. It is almost crpytic and engimatic.
The story is hard to understand at first and then you start to realize that there is a
much deeper meaning to the story. One has to read the entire story until the end to
understand what is going on, then a second time to fully and completely comprehend
the hidden meaning behind the dialogue in this short story. The story Hills like
White Elephants at the surface seems to be a simple story and contains
straightforward dialogue, but all of it can be analzyed and we can see that there s
is a much deeper meaning behind it all. The girl named Jig suggests that the hills
look like white elephants. Which is a reference to the saying the white elephant in
the room . The saying the white elephant in the room means that there is something
that everyone knows about and there is almost a sense of tension in the air. As if
there was a white elephant in the room, everyone knows it is there but no one
wants to talk about it. One example of a white elephant situation is where a family
member crashed a car, but at dinner that night no one speaks of it, but that s whats
on everyone s minds. The entire short story seems to reference that there is
something that is going to happen to the girl but it is by her choice. At first glance
it seems like she is going to do something irreversible as implied in the lines ...And
once they take it away you can never take it back . Whatever she is about to do is
going to change her life forever. And this choice she is going to make creates
tension between her and the man, which I assume is her lover. It is clear he wants
to go forward with it, he keeps telling her how simple it is and how We ll be fine
afterwards, just like we were before . From everything said in the story, we can
conclude that it is an abortion she is going to have. The way the girl speaks she
seems to be very anxious and nervous. She wants to try different alchoholic drinks
and continues to make suggestive, implicative small talk. Jig seems to be very
unsure of her choice, and her lover is very encouraging of her decision

Documentary Film Analysis Paper In a society that is facing numerous problems,
such as economic devastation, one major problem is often disregarded, growing
obesity. As the American society keeps growing, so does growth of the fast food
industry and the epidemic of obesity. In order to further investigate the main cause
of obesity, Morgan Spurlock, the film director and main character, decides to
criticize the fast food industry for its connection with obesity in America. In his
documentary Spurlock performs a radical experiment that drives him to eat only
from McDonald s and order a super sized meal whenever he is asked. By including

One example of a graph is the progress of Spurlock s health throughout the thirty
days. He uses a pictograph to analyze the changes in areas regarding health, weight
gain, and fat percentage. This graph shows that he has gained almost 25 pounds,
increased cholesterol rate, prone for deleterious risk for heart problems, emotional
and sexual exhaustion, and the development of a fatty liver. By analyzing the
graph, the viewers can see how Spurlock s diet has led to many risky health
conditions. By including many examples of visual and textual evidences in his
documentary, Spurlock was able to reveal how eating fast food is a prime cause of
obesity and health problems. He uses visuals and texts to help explain the
credibility of the film, the logic behind it, and the appeal to audience. The
credibility of the film helps shows how dangerous it is to eat fast food constantly.
By performing this experiment, Spurlock became a credible source to report the
obesity problem. The health analysis graph in the film and his daily documentation
helps concede the logic in the film. They help provide solid evidences to the risks
faced by eating fast food and how it is related to future health problems. But overall,
most of the visuals and texts are utilized to try appealing to the emotions of the
audience. Spurlock especially uses this to have the audience experience one of the
most common problem that is faced by many Americans

Whereas the imagery Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening teases ... with a near

The fast falling snow [refuses] to communicate: it says and means nothing (Kendall

snow and the animals, the living elements, are smothered in their lairs . The
concrete blankness (Oster 199) created by the falling snow alludes to the fear of

it denotes a nothingness that continues; as the persona relates the snowy
26. Characteristics Of A Great Teacher
What Makes A Great Teacher
A world without education is a world without knowledge. Teachers play a significant
role in educating the uneducated because it is a rewarding profession. However, it
can only be done if there is dedication, passion, and determination. These are the key
factors that separate a great teacher from a mediocre teacher. A mediocre teacher
enjoys his or her work and is satisfied with their work. Meanwhile a great teacher is
constantly adding and changing their teaching methods to accommodate the needs of
each student. One of the articles that we have read over the course of this semester,
states, ...Great teachers, he concluded, constantly reevaluate what they are doing
(Amanda and Ripley). When I was doing my research a common theme that came up
was the fact that teacher need to constantly evaluate their teaching methods. It is
crucial for teachers to constantly reevaluate their methods and to accommodate the
new changes that are constantly occurring in the world. For example as technology
advances teachers need to have the skills to add technology into their teaching
methods.
QUALITIES OF A GOOD TEACHER
Along with my scholarly research articles, I had the opportunity to interview two of
my former high school teachers Mike Kelly, and Alison Alvarez. Through the
interviews, I was able to understand what it is like to be a teacher from their point
of view and I was able to learn the qualities that makes a successful teacher. Mrs.

27. Examples Of Feminism In The Story Thank You Ma Am
In the story, Thank you Ma am, the woman is strict, and mean at the beginning of
the story, and as the plot develops toward the end, the woman lets her soft side

At that, the woman lashes out with her mean and strict side as shown by kicking
and shaking the kid. Afterwards, she invites him to dinner and gives him $10 to buy
a pair of blue suede shoes. Thus her soft side.
At the beginning of the story the woman is strict, and mean. The author illustrates
these traits really nicely. The author illustrates the woman s strictness due to the
words she uses. I would teach you right from wrong is an excellent example. It really

Towards the end, her soft side starts to shine through. They are strict due to the words
and impressions that the words form in our mind. An example is this. But you put
yourself in contact with me said the woman If you think that that contact is not going
to last awhile, you got another thought coming, When I get through with you, sir,
you are going to remember Mrs, Luella Bates Washington Jones. From this quote, it
forms an impression that the woman is strict and is ready to teach some lessons.
The woman is also mean at the beginning of the story due to her actions. Her
ruthless and harsh actions really show us that she is mean. Sweat popped out on
the boy s face and he began to struggle. Mrs. Jones stopped, jerked him around in
front of her, put a half nelson about his neck, and continued to drag him up the
street. no nice woman would ever put a half nelson around any kid s neck. That is
just plain brutal and merciless. Therefor she is mean. At the end of the story, the
woman s soft side comes out when she invites him to dinner and gives them $10 to
buy what they want. Then we ll eat said the woman I believe you re hungry or been
hungry to try to snatch my pocketbook. When they were finished eating she got up
and said, now, here, take this ten dollars and buy yourself some blue suede shoes.
This shows that the woman s soft side has came out because even though the boy
tries to steal from her, she stills gives the boy something to eat and $10 to buy
something that they really wants. Therefor, her soft side. The woman is mean and
strict at the beginning of the story. Then, as the story s plot moves on, the woman s
soft side starts to
28. The Female Characters Of Ophelia And Gertrude Within
The Text
This analysis of Hamlet will focus on the female characters of Ophelia and Gertrude
within the text. Ophelia is the daughter of Polonius, she is a kind, sweet natured girl
of who Hamlet has fallen in love with. However, due to the control of both her father
and brother Laertes, has been convinced that she should spy on young Hamletas to
what his intentions are. Whereas, Gertrudeis a shadowy character with little
involvement in the text; it is seen as though she has to live through Claudius in
order to function in society. Throughout the text we can see that both Ophelia and
Gertrude are oppressed by the male figures around them such as Claudius, Hamlet,
Polonius and Laertes who are pivotal characters in the text. She also becomes more
mentally unstable as the play progresses. Psychologically , gender can also be a
difficult subject to analyse as nowadays your gender is not solely based on
whether you are male or female, the terms of gender and sex are used
interchangeably and according to western cultures they are not purely connected to
physical anatomy. However, focusing on the female figures of Ophelia and
Gertrude in relation to the line Frailty, thy name is woman initially suggests that any
one woman is the same as all women in society suggesting that they will always be
seen as the weaker gender. On the other hand, looking at the Wordsworth classic text
of Hamlet, Ophelia can be seen to be being controlled by both her father and brother
which could be the reason

30. Ncidentaloma Research Paper
ncidentaloma is a tumor that does not show any symptoms until it is discovered by
some types of examinations that were not previously planed. Adrenal cortex, a part of
the adrenal gland, is where most of the adrenal tumors develop. Adrenal cortex
tumors can have either benign or cancerous properties.
Usually patients accidentally come across diagnostics of the disease. For example, a
change in female hormone levels can be a good indicator for whether a person has
an adrenal tumor. One would investigate whether an incidentaloma was influencing
adrenal cortical hormone levels by performing numerous tests and diagnostics. The
first step is the collection of urine or blood samples to be tested for adrenal gland
hormone levels. If a suspicious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different tests are usually performed to quantify the levels of cortisol, such as treating
patients with dexamethasone. Dexamethasone acts like cortisol for the patient s
body. Upon delivery to a patient who does not have adrenal tumor, the production of
the cortisol will decrease. On the other hand if a patient has an adrenal tumor, then
hormone levels will stay high even after receiving dexamethasone.
Another test that one can perform to measure the effect of an adrenal tumor is
performing an ACTH test, which measures the level of adrenocorticotropic hormone
(ACTH) in the blood. ACTH is a hormone that is produced from the pituitary gland
in the brain. Thus by performing the test one can get information about its
concentration in the serum. Usually if adrenal mass is influencing the corticosteroid
levels the test will show a higher level of cortisol while giving a lower level of
ACTH levels.
Another diagnostic method to diagnose adrenal tumors is cortisol saliva testing. In
this test, the amount of cortisol in the saliva at or near midnight is normally very
low. Multiple repeats of the test to confirm elevated cortisol levels can diagnose
Cushing s syndrome. Cushing s syndrome is excess cortisol levels, possibly due to
the body secreting too much
31. The Pros And Cons Of Books
Books are challenged/banned all over the world because of their content. But they
shouldn t be. Books are tools and are very important to help students learn and grow.
Books are used for leaning, entertainment, and many movies/shows are based on
books. Books are banned/ challenged mostly by parents and students because of
language, violence, and other things in the bookthat bother them. For example, the
novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. The book is based on the characters
Clay Jensen, and Hannah Baker, and their peers. In the book, Hannah is a girl that
killed herself but left behind 13 tapes that told the story of her life and why her life
ended . The book includes Hannah s reasons for her to take her life and they re
very realistic and detailed reasons. The book is from Clay s point of view, and
about Clay s feelings and reactions toward Hannah s death and tapes. Thirteen
Reasons Why shouldn t be banned not only because it s a very good book, but
because this book can help many people. This novel can help teenagers understand
that the things they say can hurt people and cause their personal problems to grow. It
also shows them that their actions matter a lot. To begin, the things that people say
to others can affect them in many ways. Words can hurt people for a very long time,
and can cause for their personal problems to grow. To show this, in the book Hannah

GM and Ford team up again, but there are other partnerships between automotive
rivals to consider.
Who would have thunk it?! For 2017, the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro
will share a 10 speed automatic transmission as a result of a collaborative
engineering effort between General Motors and the Ford Motor Company.
How s that again?
In 2013, Detroit s top rivals signed an agreement to jointly develop new 9 and 10
speed automatic transmissions with front and rear wheel drive variants. The
collaborative effort means both companies are able to design, engineer, establish, test,
corroborate and distribute new transmissions at a faster rate and for a lower cost than
they would have on their own.
Improved Performance, Better Efficiency
The effort has yielded a new 10 speed automatic transmission, one that will find its
way into various models over the next few years. That the two competing pony cars
will share the same transmission means one less important edge for both
manufacturers. Instead, the two companies will have to find other ways to beat each
other with such factors as horsepower, steering and handling, and aerodynamics
providing key differences.
At the same time, buyers of both models will enjoy two important benefits 10 speed
transmissions provide better off the line acceleration with a shorter first gear and
improved fuel economy with the taller top gears. (Jim, see the Popular Mechanics
explanation) Incidentally, the 10 speed will be the first we ve

Society does little to nothing to help itself either. Criminal activity happens all
around us yet we still leave valuables in our cars, leave the doors unlocked, or let
our children roam free and then wonder why someone breaks into our car or house
and demand law enforcement fix the problem. Certain areas of the United States
have higher crimes than other parts such as the south has more crimes rates than
the north and the city of Washington D. C. has the highest crime rate in all the
country (Vissing, 2011). What we don t realize that if we have a little common
sense such as lock doors or keep our valuables tucked away we can prevent petty
crimes and at the same time save our taxpayer money. Society views deviants are
just that, those that defy the rules that were set in place for a reason or purpose
such as safety or as legal guidance. We view criminals as if they are lost but if we
taught them the right ways maybe we can help reverse some of the problems.
There are some crimes though that even criminals themselves don t like such as

most serious offenders and even when they are in prison they get treated like dirt
and even murders look down on them. Society though has given some people a bad

pyramid are made up of the most basic needs, while the more complex needs are
located at the top of the pyramid. Needs at the bottom of the pyramid are basic
physical requirements including the need for food, water, sleep, and warmth. Once
these lower level needs have been met, people can move on to the next level of

As people progress up the pyramid, needs become increasingly psychological and
social.
Soon, the need for love, friendship, and intimacy become important. Further up the
pyramid, the need for personal esteem and feelings of accomplishment take priority.
Maslow emphasized the importance of self actualization, which is a process of
growing and developing as a person in order to achieve individual potential.
Types of Needs
Maslow believed that these needs are similar to instincts and play a major role in
motivating behavior. Physiological, security, social, and esteem needs are deficiency
needs (also known as D needs), meaning that these needs arise due to deprivation.
Satisfying these lower level needs is important in order to avoid unpleasant feelings
or consequences. Maslow termed the highest level of the pyramid as growth needs

New forms of urbanism have characterized the emerging processes of urbanization
and globalization in the region. These include mega urban regions, growth triangles
and world cities.
According to the reading material The City in Southeast Asia, there is now a general
acceptance that globalization is the fundamentally an urban phenomenon. Without the
cities, there will be limited globalisation.(The city in Asia) It can be found that during
the 2008, the urban population is only 12.5 percent of population is in major urban
cities in Indonesia and after two years to 2010, the city population has grown to
50percent in Indonesia. The fast growing of the major city population often exceed
one million inhabitants, Urban population growth and increasing proportion of
population living in urban areas in Southeast Asia were therefore strongly connected
to economic development patterns. Large populations meant higher availability of
labour force prone to migrate to places with more employment opportunities. The
majority of employment took place in the production and growing service sectors that
were concentrated in urban areas. The development of these sectors was shaped in
turn by factors of economic globalization,

to reach life after the harsh conditions they lived through in concentration camps. In
the face of overwhelming evil, the film Schindler s List, directed by Steven

period affected their lives.
Vladek sums up the process succinctly while consoling his wife after the death of
his first son, Richieu: he says to die, it s easy...but you have to struggle for life .
From the beginning of the novel, readers are exposed to how important the theme
of survival is. In the initial stages of the German occupation of eastern Europe,
things like buying food on the black market, were intensified by strong family
bonds, a unified Jewish identity, and even self sacrifice. When Vladek comes
home from the prisoner of war camp, for example, an old business colleague,
Mr.Ilzecki, helps him earn money and obtain the proper work papers that will
allow him to walk the streets in safety. As the situation continues to worsen,
however, Vladek, his family, and his friends are forced to resort to increasingly
extreme measures in order to survive. Here, the ties of Jewish identity begin to
break under the pressing nature to survive. The first sign of this comes in the form
of Jews serving on a Jewish police force, comparable to the ones who came to
Vladek s home to escort his wife s grandparents to the concentration camps.
Rendering to Vladek, these Jews thought that by helping the Nazis in taking some of
the Jews, perhaps they could help save others and of course they could also save
themselves.
The relationship between Vladek and Anja remains solid

boat rather than on land. Trade routes became much more useful for trading
agriculture and communication and language. With trading in place, societies began
to join together for the common goal of living life. Importing and exporting goods

40. Federal Grant Money Creates An Interest Essay
Introduction Federal grant money creates an interest in the property it is used to
purchase and/or improve. Westmoreland Human Opportunities, Inc. v. Walsh, 246
F.3d 233 (2001); In re Joliet Will Cty. Cmty. Action Agency, 847 F.2d 430 (1988);
Henry v. First Nat. Bank of Clarksdale, 595 F.2d 291 (1979). An agency s claim to an
interest in propertyafter the trustee has gone bankrupt or lost the mortgage is
recognized by the courts, but may vary based on the terms of the grant. The less
discretion the grantee has to spend the funds from a grant the stronger the
Governments interest claim. Courts will enforce a federal interest in a property,
even when it is not recorded and if a federal agency is found to hold a legitimate
interest in the property than sovereign immunity is applied and it is immune from
attachments. See E.g., Wilcox v. Jackson ex dem. McConnel, 38 U.S. 498, 516 17
(1839); Westmoreland Human Opportunities, Inc. v. Walsh, 246 F.3d 233, 239 42
(2001).
Background
The type of claim the government can make on property procured or improved with
grant money depends on the nature of the grant. If the language of the grant treats the
grantee as an intermediary, the assets purchased were never the theirs, cannot be
liquidated in bankruptcy and, therefore, remain the property of the government. In re
Joliet Will Cty. at 432. However, if the grant is set up like a contract for a
performance that was never delivered on the government would not retain the
property

Advances in electronic design tools have validated Moore s law (as applied to the
complexity of integrated circuits) and have helped achieve amazing standards in
computing power while simultaneously decreasing costs. For designers of
automotive systems to duplicate and manage similar levels of complexity, design

Vehicles low level details of the design process need to be developed [3], [4].
Depending on the level of details of how each component is modeled, the vehicle
model may be steadystate, quasi steady, or dynamic [5] [15]. For example, the
ADVISOR [5], [6] model can be categorized as a steadystate model, the PSAT [7]
model as quasi steady one, and PSIM [8] and Virtual Test Bed (VTB) [9] models as
dynamic. On the other hand, depending on the direction of calculation, vehicle
models can be classified as forwardlooking models or backward facing models [5].
In a forward looking model, vehicle speed is controlled to follow a driving cycle
during the analysis of fuel economy, thus facilitating controller development. The
main advantage of employing a steady state model or quasi steady model is fast
computation, while the
42. Essay about Organizational Behavior Terminology and
Concepts
Organizational Behavior Terminology and Concepts
Organizational behavior is the behavior of individuals, either one or a group. It is
not the behavior of an organization, but rather the behavior of the people in an
organization. This can be anywhere from a family at home to a church to a work
group within a company. Some of the challenges that make behaviors challenging in
today s workplace are high performance, ethical behavior, productivity improvement,
technology utilization, quality, diversity, work life balance, and the global economy,
(Schermerhorn, 2003, P. 1).
Starting with Garrett through the many merges and acquisitions to Honeywell, we
have gone from the good ol boy behavior to a global corporation that for the most part

Today s workforce is forever changing and more importance is put on the managing
of a diverse work group. Thinking of it as each person in a spur on a gear and each
person is different by the above definition. The gears most align and blend to make
the organization move forward, (Schermerhorn, 2003, P. 1).
Within my department we are not as diverse as other areas but we do have
individuals of different age, sex and race. We were a male oriented department
until recently and we have had to make adjustments to our behaviors with the
addition of a female employee. She was very quickly accepted into our department
very quickly. Even though we have people of different races and backgrounds we
have never had an ethnicity issue. What may be a problem with our building is the
age average age of employees. When I started with Honeywell in 1990 our average
age was 32, now it is 49 years old. What has caused this is the many slow downs in
the aerospace industry and each time there is a reduction it is the less senior people
leaving. We are developing an age problem of older people ready to retire and losing
the skills they take with them.
Communication is the transfer of information in either a written or verbal form or by
pictures. Managers spend a lot of time receiving different kinds of communication and
analyzing the information and then passing forward the necessary information to
others. This can be done either informally or in a formal setting.
44. Trash Bag Experiment
Analysis The question for the experiment was Which brand of trash bag can hold
the most? The hypothesis for this experiment was If the Kirkland brand is tested,
then it will hold the most weight? The Independent Variable of the experiment was
the weight that is put in the cans. The Dependent Variable for the project was how
much weight the bags will hold before they break. The Control Variables were the
same location, same weight that is added to the bags, and the trash bags were the
same size. Once the trash bag is hanging on the ladder, then add five cans. If the bag
is still holding the weight, then add another five cans. When the experiment was
conducted, the bags usually ripped around 20 or 25 cans. Some brand of bags,
however, lasted longer that 35 cans.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second trial held 14 kilograms. The last trial of the Glad brand held 9.5
kilograms. The best trial was the second trial. The Hefty brand s first trial held 6.9
kilograms before ripped. The second trial held 7.5 kilograms, and the third trial
held 11.9. The last trial held the most. The Great Value brand s first trial held 10.7
kilograms before it broke. The second trial held 9.7 kilograms, and the third trial
held 10.5 kilograms. The first trial held the most. The Kirkland brand s first trial
held 14 kilograms, the second trial held 15.8 kilograms, and the third trial held 14.7
kilograms. The second trial held the most. The Price First s first trial held 7.2
kilograms. The second trial held 8.5 kilograms, and the third trial held 8.1
kilograms. The second trial was the best. Everything in the experiment went
according to plan. Most of the bags didn t hold any more than 10

46. Essay On The Battle Of The Atlantic By Helen Cleary
The Battle of the Atlantic was the right between the Allied and German forces to
decide who can take control of the Atlantic ocean, It was the Longest battle during
World War II. It began right after the British declaration of the war against
Germany in September 1939 and ended when Germany surrendered to the Allies in
May 1945. The Allies needed to keep the flow of men and supplies going between
North America and Europe. On the other hand, the Germans wanted to cut these
supply lines. In order to do this, the Germans used submarines, called U boats, and
other warships to sink Allied transport ships. During the six years of battle, thousands
of ships were sunk and men were killed.

BROWN V. BOARD OF EDUCATION Black people in the United States and all
over the world should be able to access the same restaurants, schools, bathrooms and
any public area or neighborhood regardless of who may think otherwise. Separate Is
Not Equal.
In 1954 Linda Brown was attending an all black school. As a schoolgirl, Brown
became the center of a landmark United States civil rights case. Brown was in third
grade at the time, and sought to enroll at Sumner School in Topeka, Kansas(wiki).
The day it all started her Father (Leon BrOwn) took her by the hand and walked 4
blocks down to Sumner Elementary School. Sumner was the closest elementary
school to their home, but Linda Brown was not allowed to attend because of the
color of her skin. She remembered her father s hands were strong, those of a boxer.
He was a heavyset man who had once been a Golden Gloves champion boxer, and
this was a fight that he was determined to win. Brown, an African Methodist
Episcopal Church pastor and a Santa Fe Railway worker, wanted his daughter to be

In each of the cases, African American minors had been denied admittance to certain
public schools based on laws allowing public education to be segregated by race. They
argued that such segregation violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth
Amendment. The plaintiffs were denied relief based on the precedent set by Plessy v.
Ferguson, which established the separate but equal doctrine that stated separate
facilities for the races was constitutional as long as the facilities were substantially
equal. In the case arising from Delaware, the Supreme Court of Delaware ruled that
the African American students had to be admitted to the white public schools
because of their higher quality
