She Walks In Beauty Summary
She Walks in Beauty is a great little poem written by Lord Byron (George Gordon) which is
written in iambic tetrameter, this specific meter usually found in hymns are associated with
sincerity, and simplicity. iambic tetrameter is a great choice in my opinion, it fits perfectly with
the text. Bryson writes this poem about Robert Wilmot s wife, Mrs Wilmot, Byron really tries to
convey the love the speaker feels towards a stunning women walking with her own aura of
beauty. The author speaks about how the poem occurred when he attended an event to meet his
cousin which is the woman. This encounter then led him to visualize a vivid image of her so he
begins to speak of he stunning beauty. The author compares her beauty to the stars clearly
visible in a dark, cloudless night. This highly rhythmic poem with meaningful tones is found in
Hebrew Melodies which was completed in 1815 conveys the authors message through very
descriptive imagery. The author doesn t describe her physical features she is more or less
evaluated in terms of the physical world, she is shown responding to the world around her. To
further understand this piece of work you really need to know his back story. George Gordon
born 1788 in London, son of Captain John, Mad Jack, Bryron and his second wife, Catherine
Gordon, a Scots heiress. The following 10 years were nothing to brag about because of his clubfoot
and his mothers displaced unnecessary resentment against his father onto him, later on George was

Islamic Microfinance And Islamic Institutions
Millions of poor practicing Muslims around the world need access to Sharia (Islamic law)
compliant financial tools. According to CGAP 2013, there are around 255 Islamic microfinance
providers in the world (Figure 1 and 2). Studies conducted in Bangladesh, Sudan and Indonesia
show that Islamic microfinance is growing at much faster rate than conventional microfinance.
TechNavio forecasts the market to grow at a CAGR of 19.7 percent over the period 2013 2018.
There is a huge opportunity for the growth of Islamic Microfinance in Pakistanas well. This sector
is scattered and there is a need for concerted effort on part of the policymakers and financial
institutions to provide diversity in products/providers and sustainable Islamic financing models.
The government of Pakistan is keen on expanding the Islamic bankingsector and it makes sense to
focus on Islamic microfinance sector at the same time.
Introduction
Microfinance institutions (MFI) have seen tremendous growth globally over the last few decades.
Microfinance helps alleviate poverty and reduce income inequality by providing small loans to
economically disadvantaged strata of the society. MFIs help poor secure microloans, who are not
part of the formal economy, are not part of the banking system and have no collaterals against
which they can borrow. A problem with microloans is the high interest rate which can, instead of
reducing poverty, exacerbate the problem. The interest rates can be as high as 31% and are

Facebook And Social Networking Sites Essay
New media has been easily made available everywhere and Facebook in particular as one of the
world most popular social networking site (SNS) can be made accessible from desktops,
laptops, smartphones and tablet because of this, almost everybody can have access to Facebook
anywhere they go. For the most reason, due to the introduction of new media, Facebook plays a
key role communication and staying in touch with families, friends, acquaintances, businesses,
groups meetings and a whole lot of others. Moreover it has also been useful in growing markets
and advertising mediums through big companies, brands and highly respectable top class
businesses. New media as a broad topic can be defined as a form of communication which
transmits information through a medium that uses routers and servers via high speed internet
and involves materials been received via desktops, computers, tablets and smartphones . In this
paper, I will like to convey how the dramaturgical model of social interaction on the use of
Facebook reveal how humans communicate their identities using front stage, back stage and
impression management to have a perceived view about the world as well as how it reflects
Facebook users everyday lives. To begin with, the world s largest Social media site (Facebook)
has made it possible for your front stage, back stage and impression management to be different
due to the individual view of how they want to be perceived, how

The Octopus
At the turn of the century, American readers were interested only in stories with happy endings,
where goodness was praised and evil was punished. They did not particularly care if that was a
false interpretation of the way life really was. When men such as Frank Norris, the author of The
Octopus, wrote angrily of the injustices and povertyto be found in America, readers turned away.
The Octopus made them change their minds. The course of the novel and the reality of its
characters held the readers attention. It is so powerful a book that people had to care about the
wheat growers, almost against their wishes.
The impact did not end in the early twentieth century, but continues its legacy into the new
millenium. The Octopus, depicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their solution to the crisis was to keep magnifying it, until it ruined the farmers. Once the railroad
raised the price for the land, the farmers could not afford to buy. They proceeded to create dummy
buyers, fictitious settlers who they created to come in and buy the land. Soon after Delany, a ranch
worker was fired, the railroad used him to act as a dummy buyer and buy the land.
There was no way Delany could actually afforded to buy the land on his own; he was obviously
acting as the railroad s pawn, sent to aggravate the ranchers who leased farms from the railroad.
The railroad also tampered with other types of characters in the story. Dyke was fired from his
job at the railroad after he refused to work for the rates of a man doing half the work he was
doing. Then after Dyke mortgaged his land to the railroad, they raised the rates on the crop he was
producing. They drove him to poverty and when he tried to take back what they had stolen from
him by robbing money from one of their trains, they had him thrown in jail for life.
This is another example of how Norris evinces the railroads unethical treatment of the common
man in California at the time.Shelgrim, the executive of the P. and S.W. tried to justify the
railroad s actions, and in a way, pass on the responsibility, by calling the railroad a force, something
that he had no control over. In the novel, he compared this force to the way that wheat was

Summary Of Reading Between The Lives Documentary
When I saw this video I found out that I have the same problems that they had when they went to
the college. It was difficult in the beginning, but I work out some of my problems like how they
did it. some of the words in this video I didn t understand it. Any how I like what they are seeing
because it sounds that they are toking to me. In the short film Reading Between the Lives shows
the participation in school or college students. The film may have been useful, but I simply felt
depressed by the film. Also Based on the film, Chabot College students are victims. Chabot teachers
are unskilled. A question they asked was why are your grades bad? , and the students reply was
either they did not understand the text or the teacher gave no structured form of the assignments
given, so the students do not understand how the teacher wants the work done. a long time ago I
had a teacher who confused me, for example she would give assignment and the next day she would
have forgotten all about the assignment, but she did not teach us about the material needed for the
homework assignment. I agree with Julian, Laricia, Shirley, Ivone, and Christian when they say that

Essay On My Dream Of My Life
From Faulkner to Line December 23rd, 2015 was the day I dreamed of my whole life. My
boyfriend, Austin, was in town for Christmas from Fort Riley where he was stationed with the
army. After Austin picked me up from work we had to rush home to eat dinner and change
because we were going to take Christmas photos. I had no idea where we were taking the photos
at, Austin picked out the place. He was going to wear his uniform for the photos, but he realized he
forgot his tan under shirtback in Kansas. I was upset because I really wanted him to wear his
uniform for some of our photos. I finished getting ready and we rushed to the closest and only
military apparel store hoping they would have a shirt in his size. They didn t have a short sleeve
shirt in his size but thankfully they had a long sleeve tan shirt that fit him. We arrived at the
destination for the photos and I fell in love. It was a beautiful castle from the 1800s. I have lived
right down the road from this castle my whole life and never knew it existed. When we first
arrived the guy that owned it took us on a tour, to pick out the best place I wanted the photos
taken. I saw this beautiful Christmas tree and I fell in love with it. I told Austin that s where I
wanted the photos taken. We were taking photos just goofing off and Austin was shaking and
looked like he was about to cry then suddenly Austin

The Spanish Dream Of Christopher Columbus And The American...
Thesis The initial Spanish settlers were both successful and not successful as well in achieving
their American Dream in due to the fact that they had the missions and their control over California
as well as lost all of their hold on California and the missions because of the Mexicans that rebelled
against the Spanish Crown.12
Origins
The Spanish were a group of people from the great country of Spain in Europe. The rulers at the
time, Ferdinand the Second of Aragon and Isabella of Castille was able to finance one man. The
man was the legendary explorer of the seas, Christopher Columbus.3 He was the one who started
the Spanish interest of the Americas. He showed the Crown what the Americas have.
Christopher Columbus was the one to land in the Americas first for the Spanish Empire, but not the
first Spaniard to land and set up Spain s grip on the Northern Americas, especially in California.
That belonged to Hernan CortГ©s. CortГ©s s voyage was first funded by a third party, Diego
VelГЎzquez. The voyage before the its original sail out date was canceled by Diego VelГЎzquez
and CortГ©s s voyage was lost. CortГ©s got word of this and sailed out the night before the
original sail date before anything could happen to it and him in 1519.45 He wanted his chance to
explore the world and to look for the legendary Strait of AniГЎn. The Strait of AniГЎn was this
pathway from the Americas to the Far East in Asia that no explorer has found.6 CortГ©s landed in
the middle of the Americas and found out about the Aztec Empire that was ruled by Montezuma
after he set up a fishing village called Pontonchan. CortГ©s first went to TenochitlГЎn, the City of
Dreams , and was shocked to see the advancement that the Aztecs had.78 He also found out about
what the Aztecs do in their free time. The Aztecs were violent to their neighbors, they were
cannibals, and the Aztecs performed human sacrifices.9 This was a good motive for CortГ©s to
conquer the Aztec empire. CortГ©s wanted to push more North as well, but could not get far.
CortГ©s got up to Baja California in the 1530 s. Another explorer, after CortГ©s, went to push
into Alta California. He was Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo. Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo pushed up a good
distance into Alta California

Healthcare For All Veterans Essay
One of the most serious problems facing all veterans today is the lack of proper healthcare.
Soldiers, sailors and airmen are leaving active duty without having proper healthcare to cover their
physical or mental injuries. The department responsible for veteran s healthcare is the Department
of Veterans Affairs. (VA) According to The department of Veterans Affairs website, The United
States Department of Veterans Affairs
(VA) is a government run military veteranbenefit system with
Cabinet level status. It is responsible for administering programs of veterans benefits for veterans,
their families, and survivors. The benefits provided include disability compensation, pension,
education, home loans, life insurance, vocational... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The goal of the V.A. is to provide quality and timely service to all veterans. The current budget
deficit has made it increasingly difficult for the V.A. to provide the aforementioned services to the
veterans. According to Thomas B. Edsall, in his article about veteran healthcare, Clinics are
shutting down, and appointments delayed (Edsall 1). In both its old and new forms, the VA drew
its mission statement from an extract of President Abraham Lincoln s second inaugural address: to
care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow and his orphan (V.A.) this means
that the VA s ultimate purpose is to take care of veterans.
Current funding for veteran healthcare care is low and insufficient because of the large number of
veterans, who are being discharged from the military as the country transitions to a democratic
President. According to Dr. Rachel Nardin in her article about veteran healthcare, Soldiers get
excellent acute care when injured on active duty, but as revelations of poor conditions for soldiers
receiving ongoing outpatient care at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center highlighted, service
members often have trouble getting the care they need once active duty ends (Nardin 1)
Funding is the first hurdle that has to be overcome in order for all veterans to receive proper
healthcare. The nation is not spending enough money on veteran healthcare programs. Our fighting
men and women earned their

Porter s Five Forces Model Of Business Strategy
Chapter 9 review: The most important factor of chapter 9 is the break even analysis. In this
chapter, there are two charts showing the break even points. In a generalized break even
analysis chart, there are two break even points and in the center of the points remains the profit
area. However, in a linear break even chart, there remains just one break even point where prior
to this point is an operating loss and after the break even point is a positive operating profit. The
break even points show when an organizations revenue costs and output are equal. In conclusion,
managers must be aware of the break even points of the organization to ensure the organization
will be successful. Chapter 10 review: Porter s Five Forces model of business strategy is the most
important concept of chapter 10. Threat of substitutes, threat of entry, power of buyers, power of
suppliers, and the intensity of rivalry. Disruptive technology is an important addition to Porter s
model. Threat of substitutes deals with competitive products or services that can pull away
customers by offering better prices or better services. The threat of entry entails regulations or

Women s Gender And Gender Roles
In terms of the heterosexual majority, respectability applied deeply to women and their gender
roles as wives, because it was the way to distinguish between good and oversexed women
(Kushner 9/25/15). The characteristics of women consisted of being pious, pure and religious, as
they were the moral superiors to men (Kushner, 9/25/15). This moral superiority linked to the idea
that Cott presents of female passionlessness, which was the result of subsequent lack of sexual
aggressiveness (Cott 1987: 220). Passionlessness however was not simply a gendered
characteristic it played a vital sexual as the controlling factor over hyper sexual husbands (Cott
1978: 235). The very structure of Victorian marriages relied on women s passionlessness because it
supported women s demure and respectable nature in society, while also keeping men under control
and containing sexuality to the home (Kushner, 9/25/15). The concept of respectability not only
shaped how women and men acted in both sexual and non sexual ways but outlined the ways proper
marriages ought to function. In order to understand the re rise to conservatism in the mid twentieth
century post war America, one must consider the influence of Sexologyon society. Sexology which
is the study of sexuality, behavior, functions, and identity gained importance between the late
ninetieth century and the early twentieth in the West. During this time Sexologists like Krafft
Ebbing, Kinsey, and Ulricks, studied sexual

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart And The Classical Era
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a brilliant composer from the classical era. He lived a short life;
however, he was able to compose many great pieces of music before he passed away. One of his
famous pieces is his Eine Kleine Nachtmusik piece that he wrote in 1787. The piece can be
observed as good from a Christian perspective. Art is meant to be felt and not just heard or seen.
Mozart was born in Austria in 1756 to a musically inclined family. He put together his first
concerto at the age of five. Before he reached the age of six he was playing in the Bavarian
courts and in the houses of the noble. His father, Leopold, saw him as a miracle child sent from
God. He traveled all over Europe and played for some of the most prestigious people before he
was even ten years old. By the age of thirteen, he had written multiple symphonies and began
touring with his Italian operatic style (Mozart, 2015). One of his most popular pieces for the
Church was entitled, Litaniae de venerabili altaris sacramento. In this piece, he used a range of
styles and was known for using fugues and dramatic expressions.
At the age of twenty five, he decided to marry Constanze Weber, the daughter of a family friend.
Together they had six children of only which two survived. He continued to compose music for all
genres and many popular operas such as Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Die Zauberflöte.
In 1791, he contracted the rheumatic inflammatory fever and passed away early at the age

Frederick Douglass Abolitionist Movement Essay
Abolitionists were pivotal to the end of slavery within the United States of America. Some were
simply outraged and appalled by the continued institution of slavery, and others were former
slaves themselves that had wished to end the evil practice of slavery. One such Abolitionist,
who is considered in my opinion and the opinion of many others, was Frederick Douglass. This
famous former slave had managed to both mentally and physically escape slavery, while also
managing to help many others become free by shedding more light on the subject. From his
famous autobiographies and Abolitionist work, to his conflict with the segregational Jim Crow
laws, Frederick Douglass truly was one of, if not the most important figure in the Abolitionist
movement. As a child, Frederick douglass was unable to form an emotional bond with his mother
due to the limitations set by slavery, and was both mentally and physically tortured. By the time
he had turned into a teenager he had managed to learn how to read and write, and had been under
the service of multiple masters overseers, most of which had been cruel and unforgiving. Yet,
there was an urge in Frederick Douglass s life that had caused him to fight back, and so he did, and

Essay on Third World Development
Within the last 60 years, Third World development has been a global priority, at the top of
virtually every Western agenda. And with the rise of the global population and poverty levels
continuing to rise along with it, it is very easy to see why human development is becoming such a
topic of focus and discussion among members of the academia. But one question that everyone
wants the answer too is, how does Third World developmentfit into Globalization? Despite apparent
compatibility, when closely examined it is clear to see that Globalization actually contradicts Third
World development due to the conflict of agendas. Both Globalization and Development hold views
concerning market reform, social structure and regulation, which are... Show more content on

The lifeblood of these regimes is the dissatisfied citizens, the unimpressed masses who desire
revolution and freedom from poverty, which is propogated to have risen out of Capitalist
involvement in the Americas. Capitalist economies, on the other hand, believe that it has nothing to
do with their involvement and instead sees these stages of development as natural, something that
every economy will go through, if they have not already. Despite the appeal, it is untrue to say that
every developed nation has gone through stages of development that todays underdeveloped
nations are going through. As Andre Gunder Frank puts it the now developed countries were never
underdeveloped, though they may have been undeveloped (104). This goes to show that the
playing field was not even for all, and that today s developing nations had a headstart in
developing. Underdevelopment can also be, and has been, understood as a reflection or product of
the economic, social, political and cultural characteristics of said country. Yet with a look at history
we see that the underdevelopment of a satellite nation can be traced directly back to the past and
current economic relations the nation has held with developed metropoles . This relationship
between a metropolitan and satellite countries pertains back to the process and development of the
world capitalist system, which benefits its Western

Urban Inequality
Urban Inequality It is said that you should once live in a big city as it s an experience of a
lifetime. Urban spaces have so many things to offer: great restaurants, concerts and festivals, and
malls and museums. Surely, you have heard of stories about people especially teenagers who
want to escape the dull lives of suburbia and make their ways to a big city. Urban life and urban
space have been glamorized by films, televisions, and music: Sex And The City (2008), Gossip
Girl (2007 2012), Empire State of Mind, etc. However, some filmmakers step out of the glitz and
the glamor and reveal the dark side of urban spaces. Roger and Me (1989), Wall Street, and A Civil
Action (1998) exhibit the truth of corporate capitalism that creates indifference towards inequality
in the urban landscape. Roger and Me by Michael Mooreis a feature length documentary filmthat
follows the closure of General Motors plant in Flint, Michigan. Moore attempts to meet with
Roger Smith, chairman of General Motors, over the GM plant closure which resulted in the loss
of 30,000 jobs in his hometown. The documentary consists of sarcastic juxtapose of interviews of
auto workers as well as those of both wealthy and working class Flint residents. Correspondingly,
Wall Street by A E Television Network is a short biography video on the subject of the history of
Wall Street and how it operates. Similarly, A Civil Action by Steven Zaillian is a feature length

Theme Of Richard Bone
The subject matter of death isn t the theme of this poem. The poem prevails truth being disguised
and manipulated over documented history. This not only opens the mind into questioning whether
historical events truly happened the way historians say it did, or whether documentation can prove
a justification of truth, but it forces the second idea to raise questions whether any of the history
being told is true at all. The poem Richard Bone carries out this idea strongly. The reasonthis poem
plays an interest in my mind is that it synthesizes to current events happening every day in the real
worldin a variety of ways. The poem places the tactic of truth versus false and how reality plays
with this fundamental game with scenarios of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, because that person had already passed, he began to raise questions: whether those
people were really who they said they were. Richard Bone is prone to the idea that evil dominates
the goodness in the world, so why don t some of the tombstones describe the characteristics that
were strongly disliked of that certain individual? Only being described as a good person only
prevails that the truth is being hidden. After all, because the tombstone represents what the person
was, people paying for the chisels wanted to remember the goodness in the heart of that individual,
not that that person at some point in their lives betrayed them. Tombstones are a certain scar.

Go Ask Alice Addiction
Go Ask Alice is a young adult book written by an anonymous author, and published in 1971. The
novel tells the story of a fourteen year old girl in 1968 who writes about her experiences in a
diary. The unnamed protagonist falls into a life filled with drug addiction, and is forced to deal
with the consequences of it. She creates a life for herself that includes being raped, being
bullied and eventually drugged, and having to become a prostitute to provide for her drug
addiction. In both the epilogue and back cover of the book, it is revealed that the protagonist
was either not able to overcome her addiction, or was drugged by her peers, and died of an
overdose. Go Ask Alice, while upsetting in nature, is a book that shows the true dangers of drug

Go Ask Alice is a reminder that drugs aren t always what they seem to be in today s society, they
can lead you onto a dark path that could ruin your life, and potentially end it. Because of this, the
anonymous author s apparent true story of her addiction is a great read. The story may be a bit
older, but it is still relevant to teenage life today. Go Ask Alice takes the reader into something
personal, a story of apparent real life drug addiction, something that is not often explored even
now. This creates an important story with an even more important message for teenagers, both
in 1971 and 2018. Go Ask Alice was adapted into a television movie in 1973. While some of the
content from the book had to be edited for a more family friendly film, the movie does manage
to keep some of the key points of the original Go Ask Alice, and maintain the character s

The Discovery Of Sun Falcon
Sun Falcon was celebrated by lots of ancient Americans. He was buried in Cahokia during rituals

many earthen mounds that were built in the region by ancient Americans. Monks Mound was

Essay on Stability at Home vs. Fear in Kindred by...
Kindred by Octavia Butler has been a respected novel since its publication in 1979. In Kindred
Butler provides readers with suspense until the last page. It provides readers with two
definitions of a home. Home is a place where you feel safe where you have a family to come to
when you are having a horrible day at work or at school. Home is a place where you share good
and bad times with family and friends. A home is place of stability in your life. A home isn t a
place that you are scared to go to. A home isn t a place filled with only negative thoughts and
hopes. A home is not a place that you endured physical and mental abuse. Dana had a home of
stability and a home filled with physical and mental abuse. Dana and her husband Kevin just...

Homophonic Instruments In Cool Fire
The first movement overall treatment of instruments is conservative throughout Cool Fire. The
texture is primarily homophonic in the first movement with seven main changes of sound in the
first movement. The structure is based on the traditional Classical Period rondo form. Moravec s
harmonies do not follow traditional chordprogressions and are varied by using extended chords,
altered dominants, and modal scales. Three modes are used in main melodic sections. The first two
are in lydian dominant mode. The third theme uses octatonic mode or diminished scale, alternating
whole and half step pattern. The first movement is marked quickly. It is in 2/4 meter and has no
change of tempo.

Chicano San Diego Book Report
Chicano San Diego Cultural Space and the Struggle for Justice edited by Richard Griswold Del

This book illuminates the challenges and obstacles Chicano residents of Southeast San Diego have
endured since the inception of their communities. Through multiple essays, it is pointed out that the
efforts to fight for equal access have an added dimension due to its close proximity to the U.S
Mexican border. This relates to my topics because the struggles of San Diego are not only local, but
national and international because the people that are negatively impacted by these issues such as
environmental are immigrants. I hope to use this book to connect the national debate on
immigration with the struggle for environmental justice because it is unfair that the people who do
the least environmental damage are the ones suffering the most.

Essay On Ww2 Propaganda
During World War II, governments would create propaganda in hopes of inspiring or convincing
citizens in their country to make a contribution to the war effort. Most of the propaganda was
related to the need of the factory workers in the factories and the factories needed as many people
as possible to help make materials necessary for the war. Therefore, the techniques used to persuade
their citizens to join the war movement was through different fonts, pop of colors, and images to
catch the reader s eyes. The government used different fonts in attempt to give a slogan that would
resonate with any citizen that read the propaganda. Even though slogans are useful, different fonts
allows an attraction to what the words say on the propaganda. This allows the citizens to read the

This enables the audience to look at the colors, then realize the words and comprehend their
meaning. The government intended to make certain words stand out as their citizens read the
propaganda so they could look at the vibrant colored words to convince them to take action.
Then, citizens would consider helping their country during the war and actually go work in the
factories to make necessities for the war. While citizens think the government appreciates their
efforts, the materials given during war are important to win the war. Lastly, when images are
used in the propaganda, it helps the audience understand what the government needs from their
citizens to be part of the war effort. While vibrant colored words emphasize specific words,
images present concepts that can not be told in a few words. These images can inspire citizens
through the use of colors or making certain objects bigger than it really is in real life. Therefore, it
would bring emphasis on who is needed or what is need from the citizens that the government is

Karl Marx Vs Durkheim On Religion
The analysis and comparison of Karl Marx and Emile understanding of religion
Introduction
This essay analyses and compares the views of both Karl Marx and Emile Durkheim on religion.
It encompasses the views of other scholars on the same subject. For instance scholars like Gorsuch
(1988) saw religion as an important variable in people s lives and yet Marx and Durkheim view
religion absolutely in an unexpected way, nevertheless both of them concur that religion is a vital
part of a general public. Amid his profession, Marx talked little on the subject of religion.
Notwithstanding, what is inadequate in volume is compensated for in power and exhaustiveness.
As stated by Bell (2008) some of Marx s best known obitera are about religion. It is the murmur of
the persecuted animal, the fanciful satisfaction of men. It is the reflex of this present reality and
best of all it is the opium of the general population. Marx (1972). ... Show more content on

A Key Component Of Our Energy Needs
A Key Component to our Energy Needs
Introduction
Renewable energy is without a doubt the solution to the worlds energy needs. As time progress as
does the technology avaiablible to us. With this advancing technology we have seen some major
strides made in the area of renewable energy. As you are most likely aware the main renewable
energy sources are Wind, Solar, and Hydroelectricity. With the rising awareness of the affects
fossil fuels has on our environment the time to act is now. All forms of energy have their
advantages and dis advantages, however this field is constantly advancing with the times and
moving forward. The purpose of this paper is to discuss hydroelectricity and how it works while
also looking at the benefits as well as areas that need improvement. Additionally discussed is the
use of Solar hydro power plants and its pro s and con s. Is hydroelectric power the best answer to
the world s energy needs, and are hybrid power plants a better option?
What is Hydroelectric Energy?
Hydroelectric energy is created by the kinetic energy of falling or running water to turn a turbine
that produces useable electricity. The process is somewhat simple, water from a dammed reservoir
or a free flowing river is released at certain heights and as it falls it passes through turbines that in
turn capture the kinetic energy and is able turn an electrical generator. However interestingly
enough, the sun is what creates this energy initially through the evaporation process.

is extremely important in this film and shows its face quite frequently whether it be between family

Setting is the least important puzzle piece of feminism, but it does educate the viewers more
about what it was like during The Joy Luck Club. As stated beforehand, The Joy Luck Club took
place in the 1980s. Most people assume sexism and discrimination has long died down into the
dirt, but it still violently sprouted through the ground with determination instead of withering
away. Chinese people were way more strict and cruel when it came to discipline children or
being in a marriage. Children, shoved around ruthlessly by mothers, and wives; still
experiencing mistreatment by their sorry excuses of a husband. Under those circumstances,
Amy Tan portrays an accurate representation of what it was back in the 1900s for women of
Chinese descent. Back when the main characters were teenagers, they did not have any rights to

Radiation And Nuclear Radiation Therapy
Due to some circumstances being out of our control, whether it is through natural means of
toxicity from radiation or unnatural means of radiation, how do we protect ourselves? The Earth
is covered in natural background radiation. Terrestrial, cosmic and radon radiation are all a part of
our environment. Even if manmade radiation and nuclear radiation didn t exist, we would still be
exposed to toxic, unhealthy sources of biological changing substances. How do our bodies recover
from an assault to our immune systems and resume a healthy life from ionizing radiationthat can
cause cancer? How do we become proactive, and responsible for our own health outcome? Can we
eliminate from our bodies unwanted toxins, carcinogens, free radicals, and ionizing substances? Do
we have control over our health after a large dose of radiation from a nuclear accident, or treatment
from radiation therapy? Evidence shows that we do. Just as there are natural sources of radiation,
there are natural ways to cleanse our bodies and use nutrition to detoxify, rejuvenate, and restore
health when our immunity has been compromised from natural or unnatural sources of radiation.

Hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks

Introduction
While adapting and complying with costly changes in regulations as well as increases in operating
costs, hospitals have managed to remain profitable. This is due primarily through Medicare,
Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursements for services rendered. However, new health care
reform initiatives reduce percentage of these reimbursements, especially for hospital inpatient
services. Less reimbursements coupled with costly phased rolled out regulatory requirements is
forcing some hospitals out of business.
To stay afloat, hospital executives are looking at the second largest expense after labor; supply
chain management. Executives are examining their business models and recognizing the need to
scrutinize supply chain management practices, which represents nearly half of its operating
expense. Relying on Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and third party providers (3PLs) to
negotiate contracts with suppliers to manage supply chain order fulfillment and transportation.
This white paper focuses on how hospitals and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) can manage
their inbound supply chain to reduce unnecessary costs and increase efficiencies to significantly
improve their profit margins.

Causes Of Genocide In Nigeria
Nigeria has been having a lot of problems lately, but the most important problem Nigeria is facing
is genocide; committed by Boko Haram. Stated by World History of Gale, Boko Haram is a
militant Islamic extremist group that has been terrorizing the civilian population of Nigeria since
2009. The group s official name in Arabic is Jama atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda awati Wal Jihad (Which
means People Committed to the Propagation of the Prophet s Teachings and Jihad). In 2009, the
Boko Haram began a series of attacks in Nigeriathat included taking hostages and bombing the
government facilities, security installations, banks, schools, and other public places. In 2011, they
bombed the United NationsHeadquarters in the Nigerian capital, Abuja. The terrorist group raided
villages, torched houses, and staged mass abductions, which became increasingly frequent in the
bloody, violent conflict ( Boko Haram Hostage Crisis in Nigeria ). Genocidehas been a problem in
a lot of places in the world and not just Nigeria; In World War II there was an event of genocide
called the Holocaust. Through the Holocaust, many innocent Jews are being killed by the Nazis
who believed they should exterminate Jews because they were the cause of the Germans losing
World War I. The Jews were taken of their belongings and left to starve till death or die of
sickness. These events remind people of the damage genocide has done to humanity over the years.

Adversity Horace Character Analysis
Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous conditions would have lain dormant
. These words of Horace are timeless and apply to almost all aspects of the human life. Horace
emphasizes to the audience that the bad times bring out the best in people, which would have gone
unnoticed if the times were solely flourishing. It truly takes treacherous conditions in order for
someone s character to be genuinely expressed. Sometimes this instinct happens naturally and goes
unnoticed, or they happen deliberately. The manner in which mortals act during these situations are
what builds their character to its true extent. Adversity and talent coincide with each other in order
to create life changing opportunities. Although there are several instances where our country, as a
whole has come together during tough times the attacks on September 11 is the most predominant
of them all. During this day the Twin Tower buildings were destructed by two planes, American
Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 being flown by a terrorist group, Al Quaida. In
this time of need civilians immediately rushed to the scene trying to assist those that were trapped

The Harmful Effects Of The Body
Typically when one thinks about chemicals, cleaning products come to mind, but when poison is
added to the equation the mind jumps to more dangerous items such as cyanide or acids. What
is rarely thought of is plastic, food, or even water. Many people are unaware of harmful
chemicals that are in everyday items. It is important to be aware of what enters the body
because the side effects can be harmful and in some cases deadly. Certain chemicals are not only
harmful to the current generation, but also to future ones. Avoidance is only possible with
knowledge of the dangers chemicals found in common goods present. Every single day people
use, ingest or come in contact with chemicals that they are not even aware of. Many everyday
items have harmful chemicals in them that people did not even think was possible. A large
number of everyday items such as canned goods, plastic, water, cooking ware, clothing, and
even receipts can contain harmful substances. These substances are damaging and can be fatal
(Antoniades, 2013). There are also a great number of foods that are genetically modified. Some
of these foods may not be expected to be genetically modified including corn, zucchini, yellow
squash, and papayas. Most processed foods contain a chemical called Monosodium
Glutamate(MSG), but studies have revealed that MSG is the least of our problems right now.
Almost all processed foods have additives, like food dye, and have been known to cause extreme

The Negative Outcomes of Homeschooling
Many people think that homeschooling is a better way to educate their children, but they never stop
and think about the negative outcomes it can bring. Homeschooling has a more negative outcome
than public or private schooling. This is because in many cases parents do not have enough
knowledge about a certain subject or have enough time to home school their children. Another
reason why homeschoolingis not the best choice is because children would not grow up as social
as other kids who attend a public or private school. Last but not least, one more reason is the high
cost of homeschooling. These are only some reasons why homeschooling is not a healthy choice
for all the children. Parents have a huge responsibility when they make the tough decision to
home school their children. This is not a simple job for parents to decide whether or not to
home school. When parents make a decision to home school their children, they have to keep in
mind that it takes a large amount of time as well as dedication on both sides. This is because
parents have to be sure that their children are doing their work and not gazing off. Children need
to have in mind that they would have to manage how to schedule their timing correctly. In
addition, this might make it harder to manage work and other household tasks for parents. They
have to not only be in charge of their children and how they re doing their work but also they have
to be responsible for their jobs and all the households

The Costing Method Is An Accounting Process
A1. Costing Method Costing Method is an accounting process that assesses itemized input costs of
production and fixed costs to determine overall costs of production. (Kucera, n.d.) Competition
Bikes is performing this analysis so management can determine the optimum sales units to
breakeven from its San Diego plant based on the current sales mix of 9 Titanium bicycles for every
5 CarbonLite bicycles produced. Traditional costing is an easily implemented costing method that
aligns with generally accepted accounting principles, GAAP. Traditional costing is the distribution
of manufacturing overhead costsacross the number of products produced based or another volume
based metric. Traditional costing is very simplistic in the fact that it doesn t allocate out any
nonmanufacturing costs. Traditional costing allocates costs to generic buckets such as direct
material, direct labor and other overhead. Activity based costing (ABC) was developed as a costing
method to overcome the weaknesses of traditional costing. ABC allocates costs to every activity, or
manufacturing task, associated in the production of an item. ABC is more accurate than traditional

Personal Service Experience In High School Or Community

Thanks for doing this

prompt *** when you find a website called grammarphobia
Describe a personal service experience in your high school or community, what you gained from
this experience and how it reflects the unique values of the Siena Albany Medical College Program
(650 word max).
High school, for most students, is a time of change and development. You not only discover more
about yourself, such as your ambitions, dreams and desires, but you also realize a greater
purpose for your life. Being raised in a Catholic family, there was a great importance put on
serving the less fortunate and loving our neighbors. I repeatedly hear the Sermon on the Mount
which encourages the followers of Christ to follow His footsteps and to be salt and light in the
world. Taking the values of my faith, I decided take my service to a greater height: starting
fundraisers.
In tenth grade, my English teacher posed the class with a question: what are you going to do for
your community? She emphasized the importance of making a positive impact, even if it meant
simply smiling as you hold the door open for someone. She prompted us to go out of our comfort
zone and do something for our community. While I had been volunteering at Church and at school,
I had never really taken a step out of my comfort zone. Instead of just helping out in, say, a soup
kitchen, I decided that it was time

The Incidence Of Thyroid Cancer
The incidence of thyroid cancer is rapidly rising in the US accounting for 62,980 cases with 1890
deaths every year[1]. It is the seventh most common cancer diagnosed in women and peaks earlier
than in men. Despite its high prevalence, death rate from thyroid cancer is fairly stable from past
many years. In general, thyroid canceroffers a good prognosis with an overall survival rate of
approximately 90%[2]. Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and follicular thyroid carcinoma
(FTC) termed as differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) contribute to majority of thyroid cancers
sharing a superior prognosis. Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), mostly acquired as a part of
familial syndromes, display only modest cure rates. While surgical resection followed by
radioiodine therapy remains the treatment of choice for localized thyroid cancer, it fails to
eradicate tumors with aggressive behavior. In marked contrast to DTC, anaplastic carcinoma
(ATC), an undifferentiated sub type of thyroid cancer, has a higher propensity to locally invade
nearby structures and metastasize rapidly. It approaches to almost 50% of all thyroid cancer
related deaths, the median survival being only six months[3]. The grim prognosis of ATC is due to
the fact that it is diagnosed at an advanced stage which offers palliative treatment as the only option
for patients suffering from the disease. Because of the chemo and radio resistant nature observed in
aggressive thyroid cancers, many researchers have been

  • 2. She Walks In Beauty Summary She Walks in Beauty is a great little poem written by Lord Byron (George Gordon) which is written in iambic tetrameter, this specific meter usually found in hymns are associated with sincerity, and simplicity. iambic tetrameter is a great choice in my opinion, it fits perfectly with the text. Bryson writes this poem about Robert Wilmot s wife, Mrs Wilmot, Byron really tries to convey the love the speaker feels towards a stunning women walking with her own aura of beauty. The author speaks about how the poem occurred when he attended an event to meet his cousin which is the woman. This encounter then led him to visualize a vivid image of her so he begins to speak of he stunning beauty. The author compares her beauty to the stars clearly visible in a dark, cloudless night. This highly rhythmic poem with meaningful tones is found in Hebrew Melodies which was completed in 1815 conveys the authors message through very descriptive imagery. The author doesn t describe her physical features she is more or less evaluated in terms of the physical world, she is shown responding to the world around her. To further understand this piece of work you really need to know his back story. George Gordon born 1788 in London, son of Captain John, Mad Jack, Bryron and his second wife, Catherine Gordon, a Scots heiress. The following 10 years were nothing to brag about because of his clubfoot and his mothers displaced unnecessary resentment against his father onto him, later on George was ... • 3. Islamic Microfinance And Islamic Institutions Millions of poor practicing Muslims around the world need access to Sharia (Islamic law) compliant financial tools. According to CGAP 2013, there are around 255 Islamic microfinance providers in the world (Figure 1 and 2). Studies conducted in Bangladesh, Sudan and Indonesia show that Islamic microfinance is growing at much faster rate than conventional microfinance. TechNavio forecasts the market to grow at a CAGR of 19.7 percent over the period 2013 2018. There is a huge opportunity for the growth of Islamic Microfinance in Pakistanas well. This sector is scattered and there is a need for concerted effort on part of the policymakers and financial institutions to provide diversity in products/providers and sustainable Islamic financing models. The government of Pakistan is keen on expanding the Islamic bankingsector and it makes sense to focus on Islamic microfinance sector at the same time. Introduction Microfinance institutions (MFI) have seen tremendous growth globally over the last few decades. Microfinance helps alleviate poverty and reduce income inequality by providing small loans to economically disadvantaged strata of the society. MFIs help poor secure microloans, who are not part of the formal economy, are not part of the banking system and have no collaterals against which they can borrow. A problem with microloans is the high interest rate which can, instead of reducing poverty, exacerbate the problem. The interest rates can be as high as 31% and are ... Facebook And Social Networking Sites Essay New media has been easily made available everywhere and Facebook in particular as one of the world most popular social networking site (SNS) can be made accessible from desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablet because of this, almost everybody can have access to Facebook anywhere they go. For the most reason, due to the introduction of new media, Facebook plays a key role communication and staying in touch with families, friends, acquaintances, businesses, groups meetings and a whole lot of others. Moreover it has also been useful in growing markets and advertising mediums through big companies, brands and highly respectable top class businesses. New media as a broad topic can be defined as a form of communication which transmits information through a medium that uses routers and servers via high speed internet and involves materials been received via desktops, computers, tablets and smartphones . In this paper, I will like to convey how the dramaturgical model of social interaction on the use of Facebook reveal how humans communicate their identities using front stage, back stage and impression management to have a perceived view about the world as well as how it reflects Facebook users everyday lives. To begin with, the world s largest Social media site (Facebook) has made it possible for your front stage, back stage and impression management to be different due to the individual view of how they want to be perceived, how ... • 5. The Octopus At the turn of the century, American readers were interested only in stories with happy endings, where goodness was praised and evil was punished. They did not particularly care if that was a false interpretation of the way life really was. When men such as Frank Norris, the author of The Octopus, wrote angrily of the injustices and povertyto be found in America, readers turned away. The Octopus made them change their minds. The course of the novel and the reality of its characters held the readers attention. It is so powerful a book that people had to care about the wheat growers, almost against their wishes. The impact did not end in the early twentieth century, but continues its legacy into the new millenium. The Octopus, depicts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Their solution to the crisis was to keep magnifying it, until it ruined the farmers. Once the railroad raised the price for the land, the farmers could not afford to buy. They proceeded to create dummy buyers, fictitious settlers who they created to come in and buy the land. Soon after Delany, a ranch worker was fired, the railroad used him to act as a dummy buyer and buy the land. There was no way Delany could actually afforded to buy the land on his own; he was obviously acting as the railroad s pawn, sent to aggravate the ranchers who leased farms from the railroad. The railroad also tampered with other types of characters in the story. Dyke was fired from his job at the railroad after he refused to work for the rates of a man doing half the work he was doing. Then after Dyke mortgaged his land to the railroad, they raised the rates on the crop he was producing. They drove him to poverty and when he tried to take back what they had stolen from him by robbing money from one of their trains, they had him thrown in jail for life. This is another example of how Norris evinces the railroads unethical treatment of the common man in California at the time.Shelgrim, the executive of the P. and S.W. tried to justify the railroad s actions, and in a way, pass on the responsibility, by calling the railroad a force, something that he had no control over. In the novel, he compared this force to the way that wheat was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Essay On My Dream Of My Life From Faulkner to Line December 23rd, 2015 was the day I dreamed of my whole life. My boyfriend, Austin, was in town for Christmas from Fort Riley where he was stationed with the army. After Austin picked me up from work we had to rush home to eat dinner and change because we were going to take Christmas photos. I had no idea where we were taking the photos at, Austin picked out the place. He was going to wear his uniform for the photos, but he realized he forgot his tan under shirtback in Kansas. I was upset because I really wanted him to wear his uniform for some of our photos. I finished getting ready and we rushed to the closest and only military apparel store hoping they would have a shirt in his size. They didn t have a short sleeve shirt in his size but thankfully they had a long sleeve tan shirt that fit him. We arrived at the destination for the photos and I fell in love. It was a beautiful castle from the 1800s. I have lived right down the road from this castle my whole life and never knew it existed. When we first arrived the guy that owned it took us on a tour, to pick out the best place I wanted the photos taken. I saw this beautiful Christmas tree and I fell in love with it. I told Austin that s where I wanted the photos taken. We were taking photos just goofing off and Austin was shaking and looked like he was about to cry then suddenly Austin ... • 9. The Spanish Dream Of Christopher Columbus And The American... Thesis The initial Spanish settlers were both successful and not successful as well in achieving their American Dream in due to the fact that they had the missions and their control over California as well as lost all of their hold on California and the missions because of the Mexicans that rebelled against the Spanish Crown.12 Origins The Spanish were a group of people from the great country of Spain in Europe. The rulers at the time, Ferdinand the Second of Aragon and Isabella of Castille was able to finance one man. The man was the legendary explorer of the seas, Christopher Columbus.3 He was the one who started the Spanish interest of the Americas. He showed the Crown what the Americas have. Christopher Columbus was the one to land in the Americas first for the Spanish Empire, but not the first Spaniard to land and set up Spain s grip on the Northern Americas, especially in California. That belonged to Hernan CortГ©s. CortГ©s s voyage was first funded by a third party, Diego VelГЎzquez. The voyage before the its original sail out date was canceled by Diego VelГЎzquez and CortГ©s s voyage was lost. CortГ©s got word of this and sailed out the night before the original sail date before anything could happen to it and him in 1519.45 He wanted his chance to explore the world and to look for the legendary Strait of AniГЎn. The Strait of AniГЎn was this pathway from the Americas to the Far East in Asia that no explorer has found.6 CortГ©s landed in the middle of the Americas and found out about the Aztec Empire that was ruled by Montezuma after he set up a fishing village called Pontonchan. CortГ©s first went to TenochitlГЎn, the City of Dreams , and was shocked to see the advancement that the Aztecs had.78 He also found out about what the Aztecs do in their free time. The Aztecs were violent to their neighbors, they were cannibals, and the Aztecs performed human sacrifices.9 This was a good motive for CortГ©s to conquer the Aztec empire. CortГ©s wanted to push more North as well, but could not get far. CortГ©s got up to Baja California in the 1530 s. Another explorer, after CortГ©s, went to push into Alta California. Soldiers, sailors and airmen are leaving active duty without having proper healthcare to cover their physical or mental injuries. (VA) According to The department of Veterans Affairs website, The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a government run military veteranbenefit system with Cabinet level status. The goal of the V.A. is to provide quality and timely service to all veterans. The current budget deficit has made it increasingly difficult for the V.A. to provide the aforementioned services to the veterans. According to Thomas B. In both its old and new forms, the VA drew its mission statement from an extract of President Abraham Lincoln s second inaugural address: to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow and his orphan (V.A.) this means that the VA s ultimate purpose is to take care of veterans. Current funding for veteran healthcare care is low and insufficient because of the large number of veterans, who are being discharged from the military as the country transitions to a democratic President. According to Dr. Rachel Nardin in her article about veteran healthcare, Soldiers get excellent acute care when injured on active duty, but as revelations of poor conditions for soldiers receiving ongoing outpatient care at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center highlighted, service members often have trouble getting the care they need once active duty ends (Nardin 1) Funding is the first hurdle that has to be overcome in order for all veterans to receive proper healthcare. In this chapter, there are two charts showing the break even points. In a generalized break even analysis chart, there are two break even points and in the center of the points remains the profit area. However, in a linear break even chart, there remains just one break even point where prior to this point is an operating loss and after the break even point is a positive operating profit. The break even points show when an organizations revenue costs and output are equal. In conclusion, managers must be aware of the break even points of the organization to ensure the organization will be successful. • 12. Women s Gender And Gender Roles In terms of the heterosexual majority, respectability applied deeply to women and their gender roles as wives, because it was the way to distinguish between good and oversexed women (Kushner 9/25/15). The characteristics of women consisted of being pious, pure and religious, as they were the moral superiors to men (Kushner, 9/25/15). This moral superiority linked to the idea that Cott presents of female passionlessness, which was the result of subsequent lack of sexual aggressiveness (Cott 1987: 220). Passionlessness however was not simply a gendered characteristic it played a vital sexual as the controlling factor over hyper sexual husbands (Cott 1978: 235). The very structure of Victorian marriages relied on women s passionlessness because it supported women s demure and respectable nature in society, while also keeping men under control and containing sexuality to the home (Kushner, 9/25/15). The concept of respectability not only shaped how women and men acted in both sexual and non sexual ways but outlined the ways proper marriages ought to function. In order to understand the re rise to conservatism in the mid twentieth century post war America, one must consider the influence of Sexologyon society. He lived a short life; however, he was able to compose many great pieces of music before he passed away. One of his famous pieces is his Eine Kleine Nachtmusik piece that he wrote in 1787. The piece can be observed as good from a Christian perspective. Art is meant to be felt and not just heard or seen. Mozart was born in Austria in 1756 to a musically inclined family. He put together his first concerto at the age of five. Before he reached the age of six he was playing in the Bavarian courts and in the houses of the noble. His father, Leopold, saw him as a miracle child sent from God. He traveled all over Europe and played for some of the most prestigious people before he was even ten years old. By the age of thirteen, he had written multiple symphonies and began touring with his Italian operatic style (Mozart, 2015). One of his most popular pieces for the Church was entitled, Litaniae de venerabili altaris sacramento. In this piece, he used a range of styles and was known for using fugues and dramatic expressions. At the age of twenty five, he decided to marry Constanze Weber, the daughter of a family friend. Together they had six children of only which two survived. He continued to compose music for all genres and many popular operas such as Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Die ZauberflГ¶te. Some were simply outraged and appalled by the continued institution of slavery, and others were former slaves themselves that had wished to end the evil practice of slavery. One such Abolitionist, who is considered in my opinion and the opinion of many others, was Frederick Douglass. This famous former slave had managed to both mentally and physically escape slavery, while also managing to help many others become free by shedding more light on the subject. From his famous autobiographies and Abolitionist work, to his conflict with the segregational Jim Crow laws, Frederick Douglass truly was one of, if not the most important figure in the Abolitionist movement. While the general public commonly remembered experiences of the war in literature, art, prose and memorials, those of the 1918 pandemic were not. As time progress as does the technology avaiablible to us. With this advancing technology we have seen some major strides made in the area of renewable energy. As you are most likely aware the main renewable energy sources are Wind, Solar, and Hydroelectricity. With the rising awareness of the affects fossil fuels has on our environment the time to act is now. All forms of energy have their advantages and dis advantages, however this field is constantly advancing with the times and moving forward. The purpose of this paper is to discuss hydroelectricity and how it works while also looking at the benefits as well as areas that need improvement. Additionally discussed is the use of Solar hydro power plants and its pro s and con s. Is hydroelectric power the best answer to the world s energy needs, and are hybrid power plants a better option? What is Hydroelectric Energy? Hydroelectric energy is created by the kinetic energy of falling or running water to turn a turbine that produces useable electricity. The process is somewhat simple, water from a dammed reservoir or a free flowing river is released at certain heights and as it falls it passes through turbines that in turn capture the kinetic energy and is able turn an electrical generator. However interestingly enough, the sun is what creates this energy initially through the evaporation process. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Setting is the least important puzzle piece of feminism, but it does educate the viewers more about what it was like during The Joy Luck Club. As stated beforehand, The Joy Luck Club took place in the 1980s. Most people assume sexism and discrimination has long died down into the dirt, but it still violently sprouted through the ground with determination instead of withering away. Chinese people were way more strict and cruel when it came to discipline children or being in a marriage. Children, shoved around ruthlessly by mothers, and wives; still experiencing mistreatment by their sorry excuses of a husband. Under those circumstances, Amy Tan portrays an accurate representation of what it was back in the 1900s for women of Chinese descent. Back when the main characters were teenagers, they did not have any rights to themselves. An incident that explains this more in detail was Lindo s first husband. The Earth is covered in natural background radiation. Terrestrial, cosmic and radon radiation are all a part of our environment. Even if manmade radiation and nuclear radiation didn t exist, we would still be exposed to toxic, unhealthy sources of biological changing substances. How do our bodies recover from an assault to our immune systems and resume a healthy life from ionizing radiationthat can cause cancer? How do we become proactive, and responsible for our own health outcome? Can we eliminate from our bodies unwanted toxins, carcinogens, free radicals, and ionizing substances? Do we have control over our health after a large dose of radiation from a nuclear accident, or treatment from radiation therapy? Evidence shows that we do. Introduction While adapting and complying with costly changes in regulations as well as increases in operating costs, hospitals have managed to remain profitable. This is due primarily through Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance reimbursements for services rendered. However, new health care reform initiatives reduce percentage of these reimbursements, especially for hospital inpatient services. Less reimbursements coupled with costly phased rolled out regulatory requirements is forcing some hospitals out of business. To stay afloat, hospital executives are looking at the second largest expense after labor; supply chain management. Executives are examining their business models and recognizing the need to scrutinize supply chain management practices, which represents nearly half of its operating expense. Relying on Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and third party providers (3PLs) to negotiate contracts with suppliers to manage supply chain order fulfillment and transportation. These words of Horace are timeless and apply to almost all aspects of the human life. Horace emphasizes to the audience that the bad times bring out the best in people, which would have gone unnoticed if the times were solely flourishing. It truly takes treacherous conditions in order for someone s character to be genuinely expressed. Sometimes this instinct happens naturally and goes unnoticed, or they happen deliberately. The manner in which mortals act during these situations are what builds their character to its true extent. Adversity and talent coincide with each other in order to create life changing opportunities. Although there are several instances where our country, as a whole has come together during tough times the attacks on September 11 is the most predominant of them all. During this day the Twin Tower buildings were destructed by two planes, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 being flown by a terrorist group, Al Quaida. A large number of everyday items such as canned goods, plastic, water, cooking ware, clothing, and even receipts can contain harmful substances. These substances are damaging and can be fatal (Antoniades, 2013). There are also a great number of foods that are genetically modified. Some of these foods may not be expected to be genetically modified including corn, zucchini, yellow squash, and papayas. • 38. The Negative Outcomes of Homeschooling Many people think that homeschooling is a better way to educate their children, but they never stop and think about the negative outcomes it can bring. Homeschooling has a more negative outcome than public or private schooling. This is because in many cases parents do not have enough knowledge about a certain subject or have enough time to home school their children. Another reason why homeschoolingis not the best choice is because children would not grow up as social as other kids who attend a public or private school. Last but not least, one more reason is the high cost of homeschooling. These are only some reasons why homeschooling is not a healthy choice for all the children. Parents have a huge responsibility when they make the tough decision to home school their children. This is not a simple job for parents to decide whether or not to home school. When parents make a decision to home school their children, they have to keep in mind that it takes a large amount of time as well as dedication on both sides. This is because parents have to be sure that their children are doing their work and not gazing off. Children need to have in mind that they would have to manage how to schedule their timing correctly. In addition, this might make it harder to manage work and other household tasks for parents. They have to not only be in charge of their children and how they re doing their work but also they have to be responsible for their jobs and all the households ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Costing Method Costing Method is an accounting process that assesses itemized input costs of production and fixed costs to determine overall costs of production. (Kucera, n.d.) Competition Bikes is performing this analysis so management can determine the optimum sales units to breakeven from its San Diego plant based on the current sales mix of 9 Titanium bicycles for every 5 CarbonLite bicycles produced. Traditional costing is an easily implemented costing method that aligns with generally accepted accounting principles, GAAP. Traditional costing is the distribution of manufacturing overhead costsacross the number of products produced based or another volume based metric. Traditional costing is very simplistic in the fact that it doesn t allocate out any nonmanufacturing costs. Traditional costing allocates costs to generic buckets such as direct material, direct labor and other overhead. Activity based costing (ABC) was developed as a costing method to overcome the weaknesses of traditional costing. ABC allocates costs to every activity, or manufacturing task, associated in the production of an item. ABC is more accurate than traditional costing. It is the seventh most common cancer diagnosed in women and peaks earlier than in men. Despite its high prevalence, death rate from thyroid cancer is fairly stable from past many years. In general, thyroid canceroffers a good prognosis with an overall survival rate of approximately 90%[2]. Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) termed as differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) contribute to majority of thyroid cancers sharing a superior prognosis. Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), mostly acquired as a part of familial syndromes, display only modest cure rates. While surgical resection followed by radioiodine therapy remains the treatment of choice for localized thyroid cancer, it fails to eradicate tumors with aggressive behavior. In marked contrast to DTC, anaplastic carcinoma (ATC), an undifferentiated sub type of thyroid cancer, has a higher propensity to locally invade nearby structures and metastasize rapidly. It approaches to almost 50% of all thyroid cancer related deaths, the median survival being only six months[3].
