The strengths of the curriculum at RAHS is the variety. RAHS offers a variety of electives
including anything from Family and Consumer Science classes to public speaking. With few
requirements in terms of electives, RAHS allows the student to choose their own electives to
match interest in hopes to balance with core classes. However, i wish RAHS offered more post
secondary classes at the school. For juniors and seniors, century courses are offered at Century

What Makes a Word, a Word?
If a new word or neologism is not created by a lexicographer (the person who compiles a
dictionary), or any individual, then who decides what words will be a part of the English
language? The speakers of the language are who choose what words are used and which are not. It
s the day to day users of the language introducing and maintaining words, this is what evolves and
shapes the way the English language is spoken and understood by the people who use it.
There are a number ways in which a new word can be introduced into any given language, in this
post I will focus on the English language and the techniques commonly used to make new words
in the language. Not only does a word need to be created to be part of a language but it needs to be
used as part of the language regularly to be well recognised and accepted by the speakers, and there
for an official word in the language.
Shared Words
The first way a word can be made is through a different language sharing or donating a word with
another language or country. An English example of this technique would be the word ninja
which English speakers took from the Japanese and now is sometimes recognised as an English
word. Once the word is taken from a language the pronunciation and origins of the word become
lost with time and people can forget or are not able to tell that the word has foreign origins.

Fahrenheit 451 could not of had a better plot. Not only was the novel thrilling the entire time but
taught us knowledge over ignorance. I think that Fahrenheit 451 was a great book. The plot of
story is Guy Montag starts out as a average fireman who loves doing his job, which is burning
books. He s married and lives a normal lifestyle in an unspecified city in a society where reading

Christina Baker Kline, a very accomplished writer, produced the work of Orphan Train which
quickly rose to the top of the New York Times bestseller list, and there is no question why. This
was a novel about adventure, discovery, persevering, and learning to love life. It was based
between a series of two different time periods one being during 2011, which is Molly s story.
She meets a 90 year old woman who has had many identities during her time. She tells Molly
about her travels as an orphan during the 1930 s. These stories are very similar in their type, even
though they were many years apart. Molly and Vivian are both orphans, they have both

Noah Reflection
Like the Bible, the movie starts off at the very beginning. Eventually, Noah tells his children the
story of the construction of earth which is accurate to Genesis, though he mixes the second and
fourth days. The Bible says that the sun and the moon was formed on the fourth day not the
second day. When it refers to recent state of the land, the film sets up two factions: Noah and
Lemech, Tubal Cain and the good men, the evil men. The evil are offspring of Cain, which is
accurate to what the Biblesays in Chapter 3. According to that chapter, Cain moved east and
constructed towns and eventually he had kids. In the film, Noah s wife was named Naamah and
the film made it seem as if she was an equivalent to Noah. She discusses with him about raising

as Noah s wife and all we know is that she had boys and that she was on the ark. It seems that
things such as her unfruitfulness and then her curing at the hands of Methuselah, was added to the
