The Beatitudes, Jesus Commandment Of Love And The Ten...
There are three central teachings that Christians follow, the Beatitudes, Jesus Commandment of Love
and the Ten Commandments all pave a path for adherent s of christianity to create a greater bond with
God and other members of the community, These three teachings relate to one another and ultimately
lead to the Lord and the communities around Christianity. The Beatitudes are significant for Christians
as it presents how God wants the adherents of Christianity to open themselves up to the people around
them, as the Beatitudes offers us eternal salvation in the Kingdom of god and may be considered an
alternative to the Ten Commandments, The Beatitudes call on Christians to follow in the footsteps of

Video Games Have On Culture
The Far Reaching Influence Video Games Have on Culture
All you can see on screen is a pair of arms holding a gun as you proceed down a poorly lit, grungy
tunnel. Looking down, you can t see your own feet not because of the gloom, they simply weren t
included in the design. A heads up display shows ammo, health, shields, and a motion tracker in the
corner while an aiming reticule sits in the center of the screen. The graphics are shoddy at best by
today s standards, but at the time it was released this was considered to be the cutting edge of video
games. This is Halo: Combat Evolved, released in 2001, not even two decades ago. Now known as the
first in the Halo series, at the time it was an example of how far video games had come; today it ...

In books, everything is laid before you, he says. There is nothing left for you to discover. Video games
are the only forms of artistic expression that allow the authoritative voice of the author to remain true
while allowing the observer to explore and experiment. This is especially true when looking at older
creations, when the graphics and narratives were limited by the current technology, forcing players to
draw heavily from their imaginations, becoming what Melissinos calls the game s third voice, the first
voice being the designer of the game, and the second voice being the mechanics of the game itself
(Tucker).
One of the most memorable parts of any game is its main theme, the song that plays during the title
screen . Originally simple 8 bit tunes meant to draw attention at arcades, a video game s soundtrack
was handled by the programmers, limited to whatever space was left over after the game itself was
complete (Hsu). As a result, early games such as Tetris had a single short, repetitive song that would
loop constantly in the background, eventually becoming embedded in the player s brain. As
technology developed to allow for more efficient data storage, companies were able to add longer and
more complex songs. Eventually, as games became more immersive, the soundtrack became a way to
emphasize what was occurring on screen (Hsu). With video games becoming an increasingly

Ylan s Short Story
In a cruel world, the perfect mess, a mess only one person can end... Ylan! When Ylan was growing

playing sports such as football and baseball. He played for the school s team. Ylan had a good arm

Nally and Joey. Don t worry they re in jail now. Everything is going to be just fine. God said calmly. It

typical corny junk you get when you re in the hospital. The corny cards, balloons, and small bears. His

crying tears of joy. Five days later Ylan was released from the hospital and went back with his parents.
I m fine guys. Ylan said I can go back to the states. I ll just go to get my belongings and be right back.

Different Morals, Attitudes, and Goals with Changing...
As generations come and go, I ve noticed that each generation has grown up with different morals,
attitudes, and goals for their life. Which puts a gap on all these generations, each generation is very
distinct in their own ways. With each new generation being shaped and molded by the previous one,
by offering more and more to help them. Now when you look at my generation now and the new one
slowly coming up as well, you can see that we have been turned into a selfish, lazy, and even rude
generation. If you look back on our older generations, they were never handed anything. Everything
they wanted they had to work hard for an even struggle doing it. In this day and age it seems all
anyone looks for is hand outs, no one wants to work hard for anything and achieve it. Everyone looks
for the shortcuts through life, when there are none. Another reason why things are so much easier for
this generation is the new technology we have available. With all the new technology and so much
help from our previous generations, it has gave this generation a different attitude and not so much in
a good way. This generation s attitude has been infected with laziness, selfishness, and greed. It seems
that most people in my generation today is very and only self focused. They are all worried about how
much money they can make and care about only what they want, and how quick they can obtain it. I
feel as though previous generations have made our life so much easier, we take it for

Tractor Beam Technology Research Paper
The tractor beam technology seen in the movie Star Wars is now a reality, and scientists have already
come up with a way to move objects using sound waves. On Tuesday, European researchers
announced that they have successfully developed a tractor beam that could be used to lift, move and
rotate small objects using high amplitude sound waves. They are now able to use the tractor beam to
manipulate small objects of about 4 mm in diameter without touching them, according to the
Hindustan Times. Asier Marzo, who is from the Univeristy of Bristol in Britain and the Public
University of Navarre in Spain, explained that they used ultrasound with a frequence of 40 kilohertz to
move the object because sound waves are able to exert foce on objects.

Jingle Ball Concert
Sunday, December 10 was a night to remember. Kiss 108 s Jingle Ball took place, at TD Garden,
Boston. The opening acts began at 6 pm. The one downside to this was I had a basketball game right
before the concert. As a result, I missed most of the opening performers. However, this concert was
still the best I have ever attended. The acts I missed were the boy band, Why Don t We and Girl Meets
World star Sabrina Carpenter singing two of her songs.
On the way into the concert, there was a vendor selling t shirts, after bargaining, we bought the shirts
for only $10. We quickly paid for them and ran into the stadium. Luckily, I made it just in time for the
last opening act, Max Schneider. Additional performers of the night included: Camila Cabello, Charlie
Puth, Kelly Clarkson, Halsey, Fifth Harmony, and lastly Fall Out Boy. Each sang two to four songs.
This concert was a nine act, 3 1/2 hour show.
The arena was packed with fans all different ages, all with pulsing energy. People wore festive outfits
and most were in the holiday spirit. I attended the concert with four of my closest friends, we had been
planning the night out for months. Our seats were located in section 6, just left of the stage. We had a

Special Interest Terrorism And Terrorism
Special interest terrorism differs from traditional right wing and left wing terrorism in that extremist
special interest groups seek to resolve specific issues, rather than effect widespread political change.
Special interest extremists continue to conduct acts of politically motivated violence to force segments
of society, including the general public, to change attitudes about issues considered important to their
causes. These groups occupy the extreme fringes of animal rights, pro life, environmental, anti
nuclear, and other movements. Some special interest extremists most notably within the animal rights
and environmental movements have turned increasingly toward vandalism and terrorist activity in
attempts to further their causes (Jarboe, 2002). Right wing terrorism, also referred to as vigilante
terrorism is defined as Vigilante terrorism includes right wing terrorism aimed at restoring the political
relationships of an earlier time or realizing social objectives that are neglected or discounted in the
contemporary world (Professor Cadigan, 2015, Week 4 lecture). There is also left wing terrorism,
which is referred to as insurgent terrorism is explained as forcing change through terrorist acts
(Professor Cadigan, 2015, Week 4 lecture). Left wing terrorism has been around since the 1960s to
1970s. One special interest group that is interesting is the Animal Liberation Front (ALF). The ALF,
established in Great Britain in the mid 1970s, is a loosely

Comparing The Integumentary And Skeletal System
1. The Integumentary and Skeletal systems The integumentary system depends on skeletal system to
supply the red blood cells. The bones make red blood cells that take oxygen and nutrients to the
dermis which is the under layer of skin, which is still alive. On the other hand, the skeletal depends on
the skin to absorb vitamin D. The blood can then transfer it to the bones why it is used to support bone
structure. 2. The Skeletal and Muscular systems The skeletal system s goal is to give the body posture.
However, the muscular system connects to the bone and helps move the arm. For example, Biceps and
triceps connect to the shoulder and the radius and ulna to lift and lower your arm. In order for proper
function, your body must only contract either the biceps or triceps at once. Additionally, the biceps
and triceps would lie limp without the support from the bone. This is because the muscle can only
constrict and relax. For this reason, they can t move any limb without bones. 3. Muscular and
Digestive systems The muscular system depends on the digestive to break down and absorb nutrients.
In order to accomplish this feat, it takes two organs. The stomach breaks down the food. However, the
molecules are absorbed by the small and large intestines. Afterword the nutrients are sent to the cells
that make up the muscles. This replenishes cell ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Excretory and Respiratory systems. The excretory system depends on the respiratory system to
supply oxygen to the liver. The organ that completes this task is the lungs and its alveoli. Sadly,
without the oxygen in the liver, we would eventually die from the urea poisoning the body. On the
other hand, the respiratory system depends on excretory on the respiratory system to take some of the
toxic, carbon dioxide. The liver combines mixes ammonia with carbon dioxide. Resulting in the
creation of urea, which is additionally removed by the excretory system. Urea is much easier and less
toxic to hold than ammonia

ability to communicate with people in different countries with the use of a cell phone. We are able to
communicate with our loved ones via Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat etc... People are living
longer because technology continues to advance, and the more it advances, the more we find answers
and cures to diseases. Senior citizens are living longer which enables them to see their family develop.

talking more on the phone, checking emails or watching their favorite reality shows. They are
becoming more dependent on technology and that creates a division between a parent and a child. So
what does this mean? Well, it means that parents may be taking their children to parks but are not
joining them to play. It means that parents are rushing their conversations with their children, it means
that parents may be passively encouraging their children to stay indoors on their laptops and I pads

The Rivalry Between Gene And Finny s Friendship
Keep your Friends Close and your Enemies Closer Set in 1942 during World War II, A Separate Peace
by John Knowles deals with the hostility between two best friends, Gene and Finny. Gene is a decent
athlete, and an extremely smart student. Finny, on the hand, is an extremely capable athlete, but an
average student. While the World War II is happening somewhere far from Devon, a personal war
driven by envy and jealousy is diverging their friendship. What started as a friendly competition
between the two, turns into a deadly rivalry. The rivalry between Gene and Finny starts because Gene
grows extremely jealous of Finny athletic abilities. This happens because of the expectations the war
has put on the young adolescents at Devon. Since Gene and his friends are expected to enlist for the
army anyway, Gene s intellectuality gets overlooked, and Finny s athletic abilities gets praised. Gene s

The spectrum of jealousy and envy shifts to Finny side. Finny offers to train Gene for the olympics,
and persuades him that the war is fabricated to cover his true motive. This is the part where the turn in
tables is noticed: Gene has now the athletic abilities over Finny, and Finny has the psychological hold
over him. This is also the part where Finny manifest his new jealousy towards Gene. He says I ll hate
everywhere if I am not in this war! Why do you think I kept saying there wasn t any war all winter? I
was going to keep on saying it .... After I got letter from Ottawa or Chunking or some place saying
Yes, you can enlist with us (190). Finny admits on his death bed that the only reason he made Gene
believe that there is no war is because he can t enlist to the army. He is jealous that Gene can join the
war, but he can t, as a result he did everything in his power to keep Gene away from the war. This is
the closure both Finny and Gene needed from a toxic

References to Sue s Homosexuality in Thomas Hardy s Jude the Obscure
Perhaps the most interesting character in Thomas Hardy s Jude the Obscure is Susanna Florence Mary
Bridehead (Sue). Throughout the novel, she is described as everything from boyish and sexless, all the
way to Voltairean and just simply unconventional. Some claim she had read prolifically many writers
noted for their frankness and/or indecency (Hardy 118). Upon a surface reading, one can t help but
wonder about the sexual identity and desires of Sue. At first, there seems to be none; however, upon a
deeper reading of the novel, I can t help but suspect that Sue is actually a lesbian.

In fact, the conception of all three of her children is conveniently skipped in the text. Take into
consideration Jude s previous behavior with Arabella he is a man with an enormous sex drive and
probably next to impossible to fight off night after night, especially living in the same house with him.
He is, indeed, powerfully sexed (Howe 514), and her relationship with Jude is one that she accepted
with distaste (Gosse 390). He is often stealing kisses and she is continually asking him to stop. As
cousins, and similar in many ways, these two isolated people completed each other and needed each
other, but their relationship shouldn t have been physical. As Ingham informs us in the introduction,
Sue says, We ought to have lived in mental communion, and no more (xx). Ingham also states that Sue
inspires the spirit side of Jude s nature, whereas Arabella supplies the flesh side (xii).
Early in the novel, when Jude and Sue are first getting to know each other, she tells him that she has
no fear of men and that she has mixed with them almost as one of their own sex (Hardy 118). In fact,
she could be discussing the undergraduate that she lived with for a short time, who wanted to be her
lover, but she saw him as a best friend. This passage depicts a woman who has nothing against men
and enjoys their company, but who is in no way sexually interested in them. Furthermore, in part
three, Sue tells Jude that she is a virgin: I have

The Republic
The subject matter of the Republic is the nature of justice and its relation to human existence. Book I
of the republic contains a critical examination of the nature and virtue of justice. Socrates engages in a
dialectic with Thrasymachus, Polemarchus, and Cephalus, a method which leads to the asking and
answering of questions which directs to a logical refutation and thus leading to a convincing argument
of the true nature of justice. And that is the main function of Book I, to clear the ground of mistaken or
inadequate accounts of justice in order to make room for the new theory. Socrates attempts to show
that certain beliefs and attitudes of justice and its nature are inadequate or inconsistent, and present a

br Cephalus argues that finding old age as a good thing will depend on whether you have the
disposition of those who have order and peace with themselves . And he identifies this disposition
with the inclination not to tell lies or deceive and the willingness to fulfill obligations to gods and
men. He believes that a life which manifests these disposition is the life of a just person, of a person
conscious of having lived free from injustice . It is unclear whether Cephalus takes it that being
conscious of having lived free from injustices is simply that one has not cheated or told lies and
having fulfilled the obligations to gods and man. Because of the living of a just life is merely to follow
these guidelines then it is not implied if these virtues are attributed to a specific personality, or of an
orderly and peaceful character. If his argument is not correctly linked then there is no reason to
correlate living justly with the possession of a certain character; the just character. It could turn out
that the benefits of just conduct are the possession of a particular sort of character.

br Socrates remarks that telling the truth and returning what is borrowed cannot be the definition of
justice (as outlined by Cephalus), he claims that instances of the types of action Cephalus thinks of as
just, can in different circumstances be identified as cases of unjust. Socrates launches into a
description of the act of giving a borrowed

Make Sure Your A/C Is Working Well
Finally, you may want to get your A/C checked before you hit the road. Nothing can dampen the fun
of a long summer road trip than a broken air conditioning. Your fun trip will quickly turn into a sweaty
mess. Run your air conditioning system and make sure that the air is cool. If the air doesn t feel as
cool as normal, take it in and have your mechanic add some refrigerant and check for leaks.
Before you start on a long road trip, make sure you check you brakes, windshield wipers, fluid levels

Sociology
3. Social interaction
Impression management is the desire with an effort to control and influence the perceptions of other
people about myself. It could be about me as the subject, my material possession or an event revolving
around me. My primary goal of impression management is to create a perception in the minds which
are consistent with my goals. Sociologists over time have introduced concepts trying to explain and
put into context human behavior that tries to impress others. One of these is dramaturgy that puts
human beings in a setting of a play as actors. I will try to dramatize situations about myself in order to
manage an impression about me before others. In sociology, there are various mechanisms referred to
as sign vehicles that human beings use to present themselves to others. The most commonly employed
sign vehicles are social setting, appearance, and manner of interacting.
A social setting is the physical place where the interaction takes place. This place is pre arranged, and
things put there have a clear message to convey. The setting is decorated; props used should able to
give a clue on how I want the people to thinks about me. Secondly, appearance speaks volumes about
me as people s impressions are based almost exclusively on appearance. Lastly, the manner of
interacting consists of attitudes we convey in an attempt to get others to form certain impressions
about me. The ways that are most common to

Essay On Durban Botanic Gardens
INTRODUCTION The Durban Botanic Gardens plays a very vital and significant role in our city,
empowering social economics and horticulture in our great city. Sadly, with the growth of technology
the youth appear to have neglected the respect we once had in the past. This writing will aim to inform
the youth of the interesting experience that I had at the gardens with the hopes of convincing them to

solutions for the sinking ship earth slowly sinking into land degradation and global warming.
HISTORY The Durban Botanic Gardens is one of the oldest surviving botanic garden in Africa and is
Durban s oldest public institutions. The garden was established in 1849 back when the city was not
well developed. The original location of the DGB was the south bank of the Umgeni River and was
later moved to the lower slopes of Berea forest because of the river s hippo and crocodile populations

Juvenile And Juvenile Justice System

different systems. The juvenile justice system is children who are under the age of 18 years old. After

states that allows youth to stay in the juvenile justice system from age 18 until 21. The main
differences between the juvenile justice system and criminal justice system is rehabilitation and

The parole consist of monitoring the children s behavior and actions he or she does. Another hand,
when a adult is being monitor is to focus on they behavior so it will not lead to re incarceration. The
main focus for adult criminals is to not re offend again during the present or future. There is more
chance that adults will re offend again after they are released from prison. My opinion, adults who
have been charged for sexual harassment are more likely to re offend because of the desire of pressure,
mental ill, and power. There are differences between the juvenile and adult justice system that have to
do in the criminal justice. One differences is that juveniles are prosecute to delinquent acts, but it can
be tried to the adult system. The second differences is juveniles does not have the right to a public trial
by jury. If juvenile is charged for a crime he or she committed the case involves a judge hearing
evidence and ruling whether is a big issue or small. The third differences is the adult justice system
focus more on punishing and for juvenile justice system is to rehabilitate. the fourth differences is
adults are found guilty of a crime they committed and court try to find the best punishment, but the
court tries to impose a penalty so the individual to re offend in the future. Some similarities between
the juvenile and adult justice system that has in common between the two systems. The first

significant role in his short stories? It may seem as so. Throughout his lifetime Hemingway has had
numerous wives or girlfriends, most of them containing conflict. Many occurrences like the ones he
has had with these women are reflected in his works along with problems with race and coming of
age. In Indian Camp , Nick, his Uncle George and his father travel across a lake to an Indian Camp
where there is a lady that has been trying to give birth for two days. Nick s father is a doctor so he was
asked to come over to the camp to help her deliver the child. After the baby is delivered the husband
has killed himself which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He has wanted a wife that he can control and she must put him and his career above anything else.
And looking into his marriage he has never truly found that which reflects on to the women in these
two short stories. In Indian Camp the Indian woman is trying to birth her baby and a situation happens
with Uncle George She bit Uncle George on the arm and Uncle George said, Damn squaw bitch! (93).
The indian woman is not referred to by name and also is called two very insulting words. According to
Margaret Bauer, only ceasing her screaming to bite Uncle George in a vain attempt at retaliation
against a member of that sex that will never experience such agony, but one does perceive a strength
in her that allows her to survive a difficult labor and a caesarian section without anesthesia. (Bauer 2).
Also in The Doctor and the Doctor s Wife , the wife is not referred to by name and she is given the
role of a subdued wife where she ends every sentence with dear when talking to her husband, Aren t
you going back to work, dear? Asked the wife from the room where she was lying with the blinds
drawn (101). The women play very minor roles in both stories and they both come off as irritating by
the screams and asking constant questions. The males, however, give the women much attitude and
talk to them with superiority in their voice, where the women are polite. Nick even choses his father of

Music Concert Report On Sunday, May10 2015, a concert was held in The Broad Stage. The concert
was played by Santa Monica College Symphony Orchestra, whose conductor is Dr. James Martin. For
this concert, I would identify myself as a referential listener at this concert. I say this because I am not
an expert in music, therefore it would be hard for me to be a critical listener. I wouldn t be able to tell
what went wrong with a performance even if some incorrect notes were played. I was more of a
referential listener because the music was soothing and brought my mind to peaceful thoughts. This
essay will tells my experience of the concert in order to persuade my friend to attend a classical music
concert with you in the future. There were a total of four music pieces performed. They were Overture
from the Singspiel , Concerto in e minor , Concerto on b minor,opus 104 , and Symphony#2 in b
minor, opus 5 . I think pieces were performed belong to classical style. The first piece was Overture
from the Singspiel , which is composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The conductor is James

New City Construction Museum History
I recently took a trip to the New York Transit Museum (NYTM) where I discovered many things.
First, the museum itself is the Court Street station whose line ceased in June 1946. The station had
been abandoned due to slow traffic and remained deserted until the museum opened in 1976. It was
fascinating to see the evolution of train cars and turnstiles from its conception in the early 1900s
compared to what they are like today. Interestingly, in spite of the progression of train cars, the
concept of how the system operated is not much different from how it is done today. The station
remained intact since it was abandoned all those years ago. Various effects such as the signs and the
tower remained unchanged since its commencement in 1936. Additionally, prior to its use for
exhibition, Hollywood took advantage of its desolateness and used it for film production. The taking
of Pelham One Two Three was shot at the station. In addition to learning the museum s history, I also
learned the subway system was built in 1913. The remaining dynamites used for excavation were on
display to demonstrate how tunneling began. The New York transportation system existed much
longer than the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA); it can be traced back to the 1800 when horses
heaved oversize stagecoaches designed to transport ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cable cars, trolleys and motorbuses were designed as measures to address the rising concern;
however, to no avail. The elevated train or the el was soon established to help tackle the issue.
According to the transitmuseum.com, it began with cable powered service from the West Side and
Yonkers Patent Railway in 1868. After a few short years, steam engines replaced cables in 1871
(NYTM). Joseph Brenna asserts in his article, in 1903, electric replaced the steam locomotives, thus
began the era of the underground (or the subway)

Essay Thomas Jefferson and Slavery
Thomas Jefferson is a man who really needs no introduction. He was recognized as a luminous writer
who was appointed to draft the Declaration of Independence. Congress formally approved the
Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Jefferson owned many slaves that worked for him. He
would often even sell his slaves to buy others. Why then would he write in the Declaration of
Independence, all men are created equal ? Is it possible that Thomas Jefferson was a hypocrite and
only wrote what the population wanted to see? Did Thomas Jefferson enjoy owning slaves just as his
other wealthy peers did? Neither one of those is true. Thomas Jefferson thought slavery was morally
wrong and he thought that it should be abolished. We will take a ... Show more content on

At times, in order to pay some of his debt, Jefferson would have to part with his slaves. Thomas
Jefferson was a big advocate for family unity. He would never sell individual slaves if it meant
breaking a family apart. He would sell some slaves to purchase others as a family or one team.
Thomas Jefferson was between a rock and a hard place, he needed the slaves to keep his head afloat.
He would never mistreat his slaves, for he truly thought that all men were indeed created equal.
Thomas Jefferson tried many things to assist slaves that belonged to him. He felt that Americans
should not only emancipate them but also educate and train them to be self sufficient, provide them
with necessary materials, and establish a colony in which they could live as free and independent
people. (Wilson, 1992) Thomas Jefferson would spend much of his free time ensuring that his slaves
received an education. He felt they were as smart as the white man and would be able to succeed just
as white man did. Slaves that belonged to Jefferson had many traits that would benefit them in the free
world. There were carpenters, gardeners, plumbers, and electricians. He would always place them in a
job that would enhance their skills so they would not lose touch of their blessings passed down to
them. Jefferson would always treat his slaves with respect. Jefferson s compassion for his slaves
sharply limited his income as he felt they should be treated decently. In one of Thomas Jefferson s

Bessie Smith Research Paper
On April 15, 1894 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a baby girl named Elizabeth Smith was born. Her house
was full, as she was one of seven children and a daughter to a Baptist minister. At age nine, Elizabeth
lost her mother and one of her brothers. To make ends meet, she and her brother, Andrew, began to
perform on the streets: She sang and danced and he played the guitar. As she grew older, Elizabeth
went by the nickname Bessie. In 1904, Bessie s oldest brother, Clarence, left home and joined a
travelling band created by Moses Stokes. If Bessie had been old enough, she would have gone with
him, said Clarence s widow, Maud. That s why he left without telling her, but Clarence told me she
was ready, even then. Of course, she was only a child (Albertson 11). Clarence got Bessie an interview
the managers of his band and Bessie got hired. However, she was hired as a dancer, not a singer. It was
not because Bessie wasn t talented, but because they already had a well known singer by the name of
Ma Rainey. Through this, the two became friends, but Rainey did not tutor Smith like many sources
say (Bio.com). Bessie eventually went on to become the biggest star at the shows. ... Show more

Pros And Cons Of Labor
Landowners and former slaves were often engaged in labor contracts, often these relationships were
contentious and needed intervention by the Freedman s Bureau (the contract was created and
supported by the federal government written by the Freedman s Bureau.) Agreements between
freedmen laborers and planters stating terms of employment, such as pay, clothing, and medical care
due the freed men; the part of the crop to be retained by him; and whether a plot for growing
subsistence crops was to be provided. (http://freedmensbureau.com/labor.htm) Working relations
between the landowner and the former slaves were tense. White planters tried immediately after the
war to hire white workers for the field work, but found them not to be good workers. White workers
would work one or two days and quit.
Fair wages seem to always be argued, white farmers did not want to pay for the work produced by the
black farmers. Thus, the Freedman s Bureau had to negotiate labor contracts for those former slaves,
both men and women, so that contracts and wages were fair. The Bureau encouraged former major
planters to rebuild their plantations and urged freed blacks to return to work for them, kept an eye on
contracts between the newly free laborers and planters, and pushed whites and blacks to work together
as employers and employees rather than as masters and slaves.

The Town of Itamar.
Nestled in the Samarian hills of Israel s biblical heartland, the town of Itamar is yet another testament
to the deep connection between the Jewish People and their historic sacred land.
In 1984 Jews returned to this area and established a small outpost, which they called Tel Chaim, which
means the Mountain of Life. Chaim Landau, after whom the new town was named, was a fighter and a
hero in the Israeli War of Independence and later served as a Minister in the Israeli Government
between 1961 and 1981.
As the community began to grow, Tel Chaim was renamed Itamar, but why?

Tabernacle in the Sinai wilderness. Mentioned twelve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparing Morpheus And Neo In The Film The Matrix
By the time the original 1999 film The Matrix came out in theaters, film critics and moviegoers were
fascinated by the unique style of the film which complimented the story and development of the main
character Neo, played by Keanu Reeves, through his changing sense of fashion, from simple t shirts he
sleeps in to long elegant coats which cloak new found abilities.
When we first meet Neo, his clothing emulates his position in life and his attitude towards it. Before
he begins his journey through the rabbit hole, Neo is Thomas A. Anderson, a computer programmer at
a conventional company where he works amongst hundreds of dull cubicles, forcing him to get extra
money and express his ignored talents through his secret life as a computer hacker. ... Show more

highlight his newfound muscles while also acting as a stark contrast to the baggy, short sleeved t shirts
he used to wear as a hacker. What really emphasizes his character growth is how Reeves has changed
Neo s stance and makeup, standing straighter and holding his head high. Instead of crouching in the

Major Career Milestones
The bible suggests that the sins of the father can haunt multiple generations of a family before finally
being resolved. But this was written long ago, when people generally did not live very long and did
not have the incredible resources modern peoples can access in terms of knowledge, material
resources and medical care.
Today, many of us are able to live down any childhood baggage we started out with and eventually
create the life of our dreams. For some people, age 50 is about when all the work of their early adult
life seems to pay off, giving them much more of the life they desire rather than the one their parents
wanted for them.

women somewhat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For men, this can mean changing the diapers of the grandkids even though they never changed the
diapers of their own children. It can mean slowing down and making time for family now that major
career milestones have been ticked off.
For women, it can be an excellent time to go back to school, start a business or otherwise launch a
serious career knowing they can give more of a commitment to work than they could when the
children were little. It can be a time when they feel more comfortable investing in themselves in some
way, having filled some internal quota for caring for others. They can feel psychological freer to live a
more empowered life and can feel less pressure to people please.
Those who stop to assess the journey they have already taken and make some plans for the years
ahead are more likely to get the most out of this important milestone. Counting what we have already
done can be freeing and empowering. Planning what comes next can help make the years ahead an
adventure to embrace.
For modern people, age 50 can be an important milestone. Those who take the time to look back on
their lives and to also make plans for the years ahead are generally more satisfied with this milestone

Parking Spaces For Harrisburg University
1. INTRODUCTION Harrisburg University currently has about 860 parking spaces on campus,
located in 326 Market Street, open for general public parking 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through
Friday and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday and closed on Sunday and all major holidays. Parking is
available 24 hours daily, 7 days a week including holidays for monthly parkers only. Parking garage
rates varied depending on the duration of parking. A parking occupancy study which counted occupied
parking spaces in and around the campus during a typical class day was conducted. It was found that a
lot of the students utilized street parking as it was inexpensive; however, parked at their own risk. The
purpose of this proposal is to document the existing campus parking supply and demand for parking
spaces and to provide a recommendation for the number of parking spaces needed for students with
the main objectives of improving location of parking so that it supports the university, safety of
vehicle access, and the safety of the campus community, and improving parking management,
reviewing current strategies and making improvements to management and methods of operations. 2.
BACKGROUND 2.1. Existing Parking Harrisburg University currently utilizes 860 parking spaces,
located in the car park garage. Around the campus area, parking spaces on the street are also available
at a reasonable price ($9/3 hours). Figure 1 below outlines the current garage parking rates. There are

Sustainability In The Meat Industry
Sustainability is an issue the whole world is facing but in particular it is become a big problem in the
livestock industry. Greenhouse gases are the cause and in order to preserve the planet for future
generation s changes must be made. Methane is the greenhouse gas which produced by livestock.
Methane is approximately 30 times worse for the environment than carbon dioxide as it is a heat
trapping gas. If sustainability needs the achieved in the Livestock industry than the issue of methane
must be taken care of sooner rather than later.
Sustainability in agriculture is sustain the world s population with sufficient food and textile while still
preserving the earth s resources for future generations. To achieve sustainability in livestock
production a sufficient amount of these products must be produced to satisfy the ever increasing
demands of the growing population while also reducing the amount of greenhouse gases produced. As
the demand for sustainable and ethically sourced food is becoming greater some changes need to be
made to animal welfare and education about the topic. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Animals that have a ruminant (a stomach with regurgitated and practically digested food) are the
biggest contributes to these greenhouse gas emissions. For example cattle can produce up to 70 120kg
of methane a year and most of this methane is caused by what they eat. Currently research is being
done to see the effects of adding seaweed in the cow s diet. By adding seaweed into 2% of the cow s
diet it is said to reduce methane produced by cows by up to 70%. By using seaweed cows will also
have the able to grow bigger and strong as they aren t wasting energy on releasing methane. In order
for this this to go ahead funding will need to be made to increase the access of seaweed to help feed
the 1.6 billion cows on

1) How do you imagine the concepts of anagnorisis and peripeteia might work in this example? (1

Peripeteia means a turning point or a reversal moment, while anagnorisis means a point where a
person becomes aware of his or her true nature. Tom is in turning point of his life because turning a
waste into something else is not what majority people would think of, most of us will be disgusted by
only thinking about the concept. However not for Tom, he is actually passionate in the ecological
concept and his belief of doing good and making good money at the same time, which is what
anagnorisis means. Just like the pig farmers who gathered all the wastes from big casinos in Las
Vegas, and fed his pigs with very nutritious food that eventually double size them, Tom could do the
same! Tom could utilize the waste and turn it into something profitable. He has to believe in himself
and just like Jared says, as long as you like what you re doing, people will be drawn into that
positivity. He needs to be brave because this is not what majority of people could think of, or even

  • 2. The Beatitudes, Jesus Commandment Of Love And The Ten... There are three central teachings that Christians follow, the Beatitudes, Jesus Commandment of Love and the Ten Commandments all pave a path for adherent s of christianity to create a greater bond with God and other members of the community, These three teachings relate to one another and ultimately lead to the Lord and the communities around Christianity. • 3. Video Games Have On Culture The Far Reaching Influence Video Games Have on Culture All you can see on screen is a pair of arms holding a gun as you proceed down a poorly lit, grungy tunnel. Looking down, you can t see your own feet not because of the gloom, they simply weren t included in the design. A heads up display shows ammo, health, shields, and a motion tracker in the corner while an aiming reticule sits in the center of the screen. The graphics are shoddy at best by today s standards, but at the time it was released this was considered to be the cutting edge of video games. This is Halo: Combat Evolved, released in 2001, not even two decades ago. Now known as the first in the Halo series, at the time it was an example of how far video games had come; today it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In books, everything is laid before you, he says. There is nothing left for you to discover. Video games are the only forms of artistic expression that allow the authoritative voice of the author to remain true while allowing the observer to explore and experiment. This is especially true when looking at older creations, when the graphics and narratives were limited by the current technology, forcing players to draw heavily from their imaginations, becoming what Melissinos calls the game s third voice, the first voice being the designer of the game, and the second voice being the mechanics of the game itself (Tucker). One of the most memorable parts of any game is its main theme, the song that plays during the title screen . Originally simple 8 bit tunes meant to draw attention at arcades, a video game s soundtrack was handled by the programmers, limited to whatever space was left over after the game itself was complete (Hsu). As a result, early games such as Tetris had a single short, repetitive song that would loop constantly in the background, eventually becoming embedded in the player s brain. As technology developed to allow for more efficient data storage, companies were able to add longer and more complex songs. Eventually, as games became more immersive, the soundtrack became a way to emphasize what was occurring on screen (Hsu). With video games becoming an increasingly competitive ... • 5. Different Morals, Attitudes, and Goals with Changing... As generations come and go, I ve noticed that each generation has grown up with different morals, attitudes, and goals for their life. Which puts a gap on all these generations, each generation is very distinct in their own ways. With each new generation being shaped and molded by the previous one, by offering more and more to help them. Now when you look at my generation now and the new one slowly coming up as well, you can see that we have been turned into a selfish, lazy, and even rude generation. If you look back on our older generations, they were never handed anything. Everything they wanted they had to work hard for an even struggle doing it. In this day and age it seems all anyone looks for is hand outs, no one wants to work hard for anything and achieve it. Everyone looks for the shortcuts through life, when there are none. Another reason why things are so much easier for this generation is the new technology we have available. With all the new technology and so much help from our previous generations, it has gave this generation a different attitude and not so much in a good way. This generation s attitude has been infected with laziness, selfishness, and greed. It seems that most people in my generation today is very and only self focused. They are all worried about how much money they can make and care about only what they want, and how quick they can obtain it. I feel as though previous generations have made our life so much easier, we take it for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are now able to use the tractor beam to manipulate small objects of about 4 mm in diameter without touching them, according to the Hindustan Times. Asier Marzo, who is from the Univeristy of Bristol in Britain and the Public University of Navarre in Spain, explained that they used ultrasound with a frequence of 40 kilohertz to move the object because sound waves are able to exert foce on objects. ... • 7. Jingle Ball Concert Sunday, December 10 was a night to remember. Kiss 108 s Jingle Ball took place, at TD Garden, Boston. The opening acts began at 6 pm. The one downside to this was I had a basketball game right before the concert. As a result, I missed most of the opening performers. However, this concert was still the best I have ever attended. The acts I missed were the boy band, Why Don t We and Girl Meets World star Sabrina Carpenter singing two of her songs. On the way into the concert, there was a vendor selling t shirts, after bargaining, we bought the shirts for only $10. We quickly paid for them and ran into the stadium. Luckily, I made it just in time for the last opening act, Max Schneider. Additional performers of the night included: Camila Cabello, Charlie Puth, Kelly Clarkson, Halsey, Fifth Harmony, and lastly Fall Out Boy. Each sang two to four songs. This concert was a nine act, 3 1/2 hour show. The arena was packed with fans all different ages, all with pulsing energy. People wore festive outfits and most were in the holiday spirit. I attended the concert with four of my closest friends, we had been planning the night out for months. Our seats were located in section 6, just left of the stage. We had a perfect view of the singers and couldn t have been more star struck. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. Special Interest Terrorism And Terrorism Special interest terrorism differs from traditional right wing and left wing terrorism in that extremist special interest groups seek to resolve specific issues, rather than effect widespread political change. Special interest extremists continue to conduct acts of politically motivated violence to force segments of society, including the general public, to change attitudes about issues considered important to their causes. These groups occupy the extreme fringes of animal rights, pro life, environmental, anti nuclear, and other movements. Some special interest extremists most notably within the animal rights and environmental movements have turned increasingly toward vandalism and terrorist activity in attempts to further their causes (Jarboe, 2002). Right wing terrorism, also referred to as vigilante terrorism is defined as Vigilante terrorism includes right wing terrorism aimed at restoring the political relationships of an earlier time or realizing social objectives that are neglected or discounted in the contemporary world (Professor Cadigan, 2015, Week 4 lecture). There is also left wing terrorism, which is referred to as insurgent terrorism is explained as forcing change through terrorist acts (Professor Cadigan, 2015, Week 4 lecture). Left wing terrorism has been around since the 1960s to 1970s. One special interest group that is interesting is the Animal Liberation Front (ALF). • 10. Comparing The Integumentary And Skeletal System 1. The Integumentary and Skeletal systems The integumentary system depends on skeletal system to supply the red blood cells. The bones make red blood cells that take oxygen and nutrients to the dermis which is the under layer of skin, which is still alive. On the other hand, the skeletal depends on the skin to absorb vitamin D. The blood can then transfer it to the bones why it is used to support bone structure. 2. The Skeletal and Muscular systems The skeletal system s goal is to give the body posture. However, the muscular system connects to the bone and helps move the arm. For example, Biceps and triceps connect to the shoulder and the radius and ulna to lift and lower your arm. In order for proper function, your body must only contract either the biceps or triceps at once. Additionally, the biceps and triceps would lie limp without the support from the bone. This is because the muscle can only constrict and relax. For this reason, they can t move any limb without bones. 3. Muscular and Digestive systems The muscular system depends on the digestive to break down and absorb nutrients. In order to accomplish this feat, it takes two organs. The stomach breaks down the food. However, the molecules are absorbed by the small and large intestines. Afterword the nutrients are sent to the cells that make up the muscles. The Rivalry Between Gene And Finny s Friendship Keep your Friends Close and your Enemies Closer Set in 1942 during World War II, A Separate Peace by John Knowles deals with the hostility between two best friends, Gene and Finny. While the World War II is happening somewhere far from Devon, a personal war driven by envy and jealousy is diverging their friendship. References to Sue s Homosexuality in Thomas Hardy s Jude the Obscure Perhaps the most interesting character in Thomas Hardy s Jude the Obscure is Susanna Florence Mary Bridehead (Sue). Book I of the republic contains a critical examination of the nature and virtue of justice. Socrates engages in a dialectic with Thrasymachus, Polemarchus, and Cephalus, a method which leads to the asking and answering of questions which directs to a logical refutation and thus leading to a convincing argument of the true nature of justice. And that is the main function of Book I, to clear the ground of mistaken or inadequate accounts of justice in order to make room for the new theory. It is unclear whether Cephalus takes it that being conscious of having lived free from injustices is simply that one has not cheated or told lies and having fulfilled the obligations to gods and man. Because of the living of a just life is merely to follow these guidelines then it is not implied if these virtues are attributed to a specific personality, or of an orderly and peaceful character. First, the museum itself is the Court Street station whose line ceased in June 1946. The station had been abandoned due to slow traffic and remained deserted until the museum opened in 1976. It was fascinating to see the evolution of train cars and turnstiles from its conception in the early 1900s compared to what they are like today. Interestingly, in spite of the progression of train cars, the concept of how the system operated is not much different from how it is done today. The station remained intact since it was abandoned all those years ago. Various effects such as the signs and the tower remained unchanged since its commencement in 1936. Additionally, prior to its use for exhibition, Hollywood took advantage of its desolateness and used it for film production. The taking of Pelham One Two Three was shot at the station. As expected, the age of tourists in Katatonia has increased since 1995. In a random sample of 250 tourists in Katatonia, the average age was 41.43 years (s = 15.93 years). This is lower than the average age of 45 years recorded in 1995, and a one sample t test shows that this difference in mean age is significant, t(249) = 3.55, p lt; .001. Now answer these questions as completely as you can: 1) How do you imagine the concepts of anagnorisis and peripeteia might work in this example? (1 point) Peripeteia means a turning point or a reversal moment, while anagnorisis means a point where a person becomes aware of his or her true nature. Tom is in turning point of his life because turning a waste into something else is not what majority people would think of, most of us will be disgusted by only thinking about the concept. However not for Tom, he is actually passionate in the ecological concept and his belief of doing good and making good money at the same time, which is what anagnorisis means. Just like the pig farmers who gathered all the wastes from big casinos in Las Vegas, and fed his pigs with very nutritious food that eventually double size them, Tom could do the same! Tom could utilize the waste and turn it into something profitable. He has to believe in himself and just like Jared says, as long as you like what you re doing, people will be drawn into that positivity. He needs to be brave because this is not what majority of people could think of, or even brave enough to do, so he should be the stand out one and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
