Common Themes in Speeches by Passionate Leaders
An effective and enthralling speech does not only relate to the content or context, but to the
appropriate utilisation of rhetorical techniques and structure that contest universal requisite ideas,
past, present and future that captivate and engage audiences. Since the beginning of time, society
has been presented with inspirational and passionate leaders who deliver speeches that remain
invaluable due to their themes regarding peace, security, prejudice, equality and basic human rights.
These themes are explored in Anwar Sadat s, Aung San Suu Kyiand Faith Bandlers unique
speeches Statement to the Knesset (1977), Keynote Address at the Beijing World Conference on
Women (1995) and Hope, Faith and Reconciliation (1999) which allow the memory of the past and
a reminder of who we are today.
Continuous battles and terrorism between Israel and Egypt had been occurring four years
preceding to Anwar Sadat s Statement to the Knesset (1977). Anwar Sadat, the Prime Minister of
Egypt, address to the Israeli Knesset was presented to an audience which involved both parties
and persons who supported and resented him. Sadat draws upon religious, political and personal
values to motivate and propose to the Israeli Knesset a solution for peace to the extremity of an age
long conflict between the Egypt and Israel.
Beginning his speech, Sadat employs the use of religious allusions and pathos in order to set the
foundations of his argument to bring unity to both countries through the

The Five Competitive Strategies For Wal Mart
Five Competitive Strategies
The five generic competitive strategies are low cost provider, broad differentiation, focused low
cost, focused differentiation strategy, and best cost provider strategy. According to the textbook, a
company s competitive strategy deals exclusively with the specifics of management s game plan for
competing successfully (Gamble, 93).
The main objective of a low cost provider is to achieve a lower overall cost than its main
competitors and rivals by means of underpricing (Gamble, 93). This is also known as price
advantage in order to attract customers. Companies that use this strategy will achieve high sales
volumes while striving for low cost margins. For example, Wal Mart is known to have
considerable low prices that attract a broad spectrum of customers. People who shop at Wal
Mart are familiar with their Rollback Prices which focus on the idea of everyday low prices that
are sold at a far cheaper rate than its main competitors. They are able to sustain these prices
because of a successful supply chain market. Many of the products they sell are from foreign and
domestic markets that focus on a lower price demand. This allows Wal Mart to sell their products
at lower prices at a high volume. Basically, they buy a huge quantity in volume in order to achieve
a lower price to gain a higher profit.
The second company that also uses a low cost strategy is McDonald s. The Golden Arches is a
well known brand name across the world. Although

Essay on Oppression of Women in The Awakening
Kate Chopin s novel The Awakening in the opening chapter provides the argument for women s
entrapment in roles that society has forced upon them. Chopin was not just trying to write an
entertaining story but trying to convey arguments against these social injustices. Women are like
these birds trapped in these cages unable to free themselves from these imposed roles by society.
Chopin opens her novel with the a parrot in a cage repeating the same phrase over and over. The
parrot is pretty to look at, but when the bird speaks it is very annoying. This is the way women
were potrayed in the late 19th century restricted to very limited space in society, hung in a cage

Summary Of Iris Chang s The Rape Of Nanking
Seventy nine years ago an estimated of more than 300,000 men, women, and children were
inhumanely controlled through the brute strength of an unannounced military raid. This led to the
incomputable amount of monstrosities committed by man to fellow man. Leading up this dark
moment in history was a major conflict between the Republic of Chinaand the Empire of Japan,
which was sparked by the illustrious desire of natural resources by the Japanese government. From
here the Japanese slowly encroached into the Chinese land taking everything they once loved, and
eventually making it to the heart of China; Nanking. Throughout a short and brutal six week period
the Japanese ravaged and destroyed the capital of Nanking, China as a part of the Second... Show

Beyond this they forced many Chinese natives to commit horrible inhumane acts, such as public
incestous displays, burning each other alive as entertainment, self torture, and the humiliation of
loved ones, especially regarding the paterfamilia, beheading, public humiliations, and more
ruthless acts. ( Massacre and Memory, History and Humanity:. A Discussion on Iris Chang s
The Rape of Nanking. N.p., n.d. Web. 10 Apr. 2016.) All of these and more were commonplace
for the city of Nanking as it slowly crumbled from a city of life and knowledge to a perfectly
painted replication of the possible evils committed by man. All this was lead by the Japanese
emperor Konoe Fumimaro whom tried multiple times to stop the conflicts prior to Nanking
Massacre. As he stated, He declared that he sought to realize social and international righteousness
and to alleviate internal friction and discord. , (Hayashi, Shigeru. Konoe Fumimaro. Encyclopedia

campaign of peace his cabinet fell, along with his wanted treaties and visions of the end of conflict.
This didn t fall through because at the time the cabinets in which he wanted to acquire were plagued

time in their lives where they need help, and some these clients are affected by suicide.
Therefore, I must be aware of the current programs and service being utilized in the field of

aimed at preventing suicide among military service members and veterans. Additionally, I will
address the effectiveness of these programs and services, what research has been conducted to

The suicide prevention program is driven and maintained by military leaders (i.e. officers and non
commissioned officers) and military social workers who actively support/contribute to the entire
program and the initiatives within the community. Military leaders ensure that every service
member receives annual suicide prevention training through PME conducted by military leaders.
Additionally, the military has issued guidelines (which are military policies) for how commanders
can reduce the stigma of mental health services by creating a positive culture climate. Commanders
use the Commanders Consultation Assessment Tool, to gain insight into unit strengths and areas of
vulnerability, as well as, creating a positive climate culture. This tool also teaches service members
to recognize the signs and symptoms of distress in themselves and others and to take protective
action and encourage others to do the same. The goal he is to foster a culture of early help seeking,

What Is The Mood Of Shalott And If I Die Young
The Victorian Era saw a huge growth in literacy and literature. This is due largely to everyone
receiving mandated education, though it was a miniscule amount, and also because the printing
press made printed works more accessible (Reid Notes #5). One author who was published during
this time and became very popular was Lord AlfredTennyson. For the first twenty or so years of
Tennyson s career he was not very successful and was very poor. After some time, his wealth and
fame began to increase (Reid Notes #6). A popular poem of Tennyson s that is still well known
today is The Lady of Shalott. The poem is about a young woman who is locked away and will be

This is displayed in the poem when Tennyson states But in her web she still delights (Tennyson
line 64). The Lady of Shalott has been weaving a web during her time of imprisonment and she
has found happiness in doing that and does not care to look or go outside. In the song, The Band
Perry states The sharp knife of a short life, Well I ve had just enough time (The Band Perry). The
singer is stating that though her life has been short, it has been enough time to experience life.
Also, both characters wish to end up in some type of kingdom. As the Lady of Shalott is in the
boat She floated down to Camelot (Tennyson line 140). Her intention once getting into the boat
was to end up in the kingdom that is Camelot, perhaps to see Sir Lancelot once again. In the song,
the lyrics state And I ll be wearing white when I come into your kingdom (The Band Perry). From
other context in the poem readers can infer that the kingdom that is mentioned is referencing
heaven, and the character could possibly be wearing white to symbolize her innocence due to being

Marcus Aurelius Analysis
Marcus Aurelius would have had mixed feelings about the collapse of the Roman Empire in the
mid to late third century AD. Marcus was undeniably aware of change and accepted it as a part of
life that was consistent, and that accepting change is basically equivalent to being one with
nature. Marcus said Words that everyone once used are now obsolete, and so are the men whose
names were once on everyone s lips: Camillus, Caeso, Volesus, Dentatus, and to a lesser degree
Scipio and Cato, and yes, even Augustus, Hadrian, and Antoninus are less spoken of now than they
were in their own days. For all things fade away, become the stuff of legend, and are soon buried in
oblivion. The enormous magnitude of emperors claiming the throne during the third century, and
the speed at which they were violently replaced, probably would have made him feel content with

There s no possible way that he would have been glaring into the past and yearning for times of
other prominent emperors because he understood that there was no control over the past or future.
Moreover, the present was the only moment that each individual owned and it was fleeting, and
Aurelian made exceptional use of it. The Emperor Aurelian made exceptional strides in reunifying
the Roman Empire from the rebel leaders Zenobia and Tetricus, and attempted to mend the broken
economy. Aurelian managed to reunify the Roman Empire and give the inhabitants a little sense of
security that they had been missing. Marcus was a firm believer in grasping the moment and
living in the present, as he said we live only in the present, in this fleet footed moment. Aurelian
was the second Emperor in a row who attempted to better the political situation in the Empire, and
truly made no excuse of the horrible hand he was dealt. Marcus would have been an admirer of
Aurelian s military and political successes. Over the course of the third century AD, the silver

Significance Of The Zoot Suit
There are three iconic symbols of the presence of Mexican Americans in the history of the United
States: The role of Mexican Americans in the WWII, the Bracero movement, and the Zoot Suit Riot.
All three moments provide insight on the participation of Hispanics in the construction of the
American society and more importantly, on the way the Mexican American identity has been
constructed and on the ways this community has been considered, in general terms, a group of
domestic aliens. As a consequence, Mexican Americans have been segregated and denied equal
opportunity historically. However, they are here to stay, an Anglos better learn to deal with their

This attire became a symbol of identity of Mexican Americans in the California area and those
men who wanted to contest the life conditions and the social and economic situation of their
community. Wearing the Zoot Suit became a symbol of identity that would later be
criminalized. The soot suit consisted of an oversized suit, a very long jacket and exaggerated
pants; with very especial characteristics. One of the most distinctive accessories was the watch
chain hanging from the pants, between the legs, a symbol of their manhood. The other
significant element was the real leather soled shoes. These two traits were especially shocking
for those who did not accept the community: They were symbols of a more open sexuality and a
disregard for the rationing policy that reign in the country. The zoot suit became a strong political
symbol due to the Zoot Suit Riot and the Sleepy Lagoon murder, two shocking events that derailed
the relationships between Anglos and Mexican Americans. The first one occurred on May 31st,

Grand Nursing Theory Paper
From the beginning of time, great emphasis has been placed on a need for care due to illness and
disease. In the past, medical knowledge in nursing guided and provided the greatest direction for
practice. It was not until the 1960 s when Dr. Madeleine Leininger felt there was a need of shift
from biomedicine toward integrating culturally sensitive care within the profession of nursing. The
goal of the theory has been to use research findings to provide culturespecific care that would be
culturally congruent, safe, and beneficial to people of diverse or similar cultures for their health,
wellbeing, and healing, and to help face disability and death (McFarland, Wehbe Alamah, 2015,
p. 6). Utilizing the seven chosen criteria listed in Willis (2002, pp.119 122) Overview of Grand
Nursing Theories, including the contemporary social, political, and economic realities, I will be
describing and analyzing Madeleine M. Leininger s Theory of Culture Care Diversity and
Universality. I will also discuss how Leininger s theory guides my personal practice, potential
barriers that may arise while using this theory, and strategies to facilitate the use of the theory.
Analysis
Background of the theorist
Madeleine Leininger worked as a clinical child nurse specialist after obtaining her undergraduate
nursing based degree and master s degree (Parker, 2006, p. 309). Her theoretical perspective arose

Peter Singer Speciesism
The idea that all humans are born equal has been something that has been almost installed in our
minds. However, in the eyes of Peter Singer, we as humans are constantly violating our own
moral code in the way we treat animals. Singer refers to this as speciesism and compares our
treatment of animals to the same way sexists and racists treat those who they deem inferior. He
also argues that the grounds on which they base their prejudice on are equally fragile. He
illustrates this by comparing speciesists to racists. He recalls, The racists violates the principle of
equality by giving greater weight to the interests of his own race...similarly the speciesist allows
the interests of his own species to override the greater interests of members of another species (53.)
He initiates this argument by explaining how our willingness to declare all humans as equal when
the opposite is fundamentally true. Singer writes, Like it or not, we must face the fact that humans
come in different shapes and sizes; they come with differing moral capacities, differing intellect...if
the demand for equality was based on the actual equality of all humanbeings, we would have to
stop demanding equality (51). Singer seeks to establish that our push for equality ends once the
being in question is no longer human. Once he establishes this, he can quickly draw parallels
between our unequal treatment of animals and humans. He evolves what initially begins as a far
fetched claim to a nuanced and

Anabolic Steroids And Its Effects On The Body
A 16 year old high school junior was told by his coach that he needed to be stronger and faster if
he wanted to play more in his senior year. The young man was discouraged because he has been
trying for years to gain weight and muscle, but it just was not enough. He remembered a friend
telling him about what anabolic steroids had done for him and decided to try it, he would later
regret that decision. Anabolic steroids are drugs that reciprocate certain natural hormones in the
body such as the male hormone testosterone, which can improve endurance and performance and
stimulate muscle growth. Even though anabolic steroids may provide the body image and
results some adolescents want, they can be harmful to the adolescent body and mind, it s not fair
to those who gained weight and muscle naturally because they may have a smaller chance of
recognition, and there are safer alternatives that can assist in gaining weight and muscle.
According to Dr. Ali Mohamadi, a medical doctor from the FDA, states that, Various studies have
been conducted and generally reflect the findings of a Youth Risk and Behavior Surveillance
System study, which estimated that among U.S. high school students, 4.9% of males and 2.4% of
females have used anabolic steroids at least once in their lives. That s 375,000 young men and
175,000 young women. Anabolic steroids can pose a major threat to the adolescent body and
mind, especially if they are abused over a long period of time. The adolescent body

Counts vs. Daimyo Essay
Counts vs. Daimyo By examining Japan and Medieval Europe s past, both areas had feudalism
incorporated in their social structure. Feudalism was a relationship among the upper class, in which
a member of the nobility was granted land, and in return promised to protect the king, who gave
them their land. The nobilityreferred to are counts in Europe and daimyo in Japan. Both are
generally governors who rule over a substantial subsection of the empire with certain duties and
obligations. Daimyo and counts are very similar with some slight difference like whether their
power is handed down by heredity and how much power they really have. The term count was
originally just a companion of princes,

The emperor did not hesitate to dispose any count guilty of bad administration. (3) Not only
could the counts be removed by the king but they could also be transferred to another county.
The king however did not keep his power forever. For eventually the counts gained more and
more power. As their power rose, the empire became decentralized. The people under the counts
were not loyal to the king who was miles away, they were loyal to the count that rain their area.
He knew was special needs they needed and was able to become more personal with the people
he ruled. When the king lost complete power, the lords took over and created manorialism. The
Daimyo of Japan have many similarities to the counts in medieval Europe. The term daimyo
came to be applied to those military lords who began exercising territorial control over the
various private estates into which the country had become divided. (4) They are considered
governors who have military control, administer justice and are in charge of taxes. The king
granted the first daimyo their land because they had won a battle or some more land for the king.
The land is just some kind of repayment for what they did. In return for the land that the king gave
them, Daimyo promised to give military support to the government. Each Daimyo is separate from
each other and fought over boundaries. They compete for power and this is similar to the uji in

Essay on The Educational Benefits of Video Games
The Educational Benefits of Video Games The repetition of the statement claiming that video
games do not help children in their educational enterprises is unfair. There have been numerous
studies conducted providing evidence that children gain structural knowledge while engaging in
video game play (Pillay 2002). Certainly, different styles of video games may produce different
results. It is important for us to understand the different benefits from the various styles of games.
Because students play a wide variety of games, they may have a repertoire of schemas with

support of video gaming. In the May 29 issue of Nature, people who play action video games

Sweden who has a fairly equal society had low results for social problems. Wilkinson also made
a point to state that national income and economic growth had no correlation to life expectancy
in the developed world anymore. Wilkinson goes on to state that the bigger the income gaps
within societies lead to a deteriation of these social problems within societies. The difference
when comparing societies and looking within societies was income only made a difference when
looking within societies. This is a result of an idiographic approach where we look at the relative
income within a specific society to understand the social status patterns that s occurring. It links to
the idea talked about in class about scale and comparing information from the blockface data versus
the census tract. The blockface data has extreme detail (or spatial variation) and the census tract
does not have as much information (reduces variability). In this analogy, societies would be the
blockface data and different countries would be the census tract. Turning our attention specifically
on Canada, we can examine Figure A and see the inequality that has been rising to an unprecedented
high of income inequality. Although we are see that through taxation this inequality has been
reduced, the problem still remains significant as we can see the household inequality is drastically

Words in the English language can have numerous definitions and connotations; the term rich is

This definition of rich and the title of the story lead many readers to assume that Pete is rich and

they supply a large amount of something that is needed, such as love or forgiveness. After further

The message of this song is valid today, more than ever. Unfortunately, there are still many
enslaved and persecuted people in the world today, who are in need of rescue. These people need
the same hope that enslaved people throughout history have needed.
10. This song was introduced in 1980 on Bob Marley s Uprising album. This song drew from the
words of the civil rights campaigner, Marcus Garvey. Bob Marley also had cancer when he
introduced this album, so perhaps we was attempting to make an statement with this album. The
late 1970s and the early 1980s saw the rise of the New Right, so perhaps Bob Marley was trying
to remind people of the past and warn about the dangers of the New Right. (Source: http:/

likely racist. Thus, the black community still were fighting for equal rights when this song was

Modernism And Modernism Essay
The sixties was an era of radical change. With the Civil Rights movement, Vietnam War, the
assassinations of President Kennedy and Martin Luther King, plus the success of the moon
landing, people all around the world and especially in the United States were beginning to see a
change in the world itself and the minds of the people in it. The sudden ability to receive messages
from across oceans and the ability to travel internationally much safer and quicker also changed the
way people looked at themselves and their fellow neighbors. The Norton Anthology of World
Literature Vol. F explains this: At the beginning of the twentieth century, the world was
interconnected as never before. New means of transportation, such as the... Show more content on

The main purpose is to understand the two philosophies, and how they effected the period in which
they were born. From doing this, we can show the impact of them effected not only in the sixties,
but also today. The first genreof fiction that was born during these times was Postmodernism. Its
predecessor, Modernism, also came from the events that were happening around the world,
especially through the newfound interconnectedness with different nations through new
technological communications, and through easier and safer travel. Through this, the world
experienced a change in its thinking, interpreting, and defining. This is explained better through
The Norton Anthology of World Literature Vol. F: Writers around the world responded to these
cataclysmic events with an unprecedented wave of literary experimentation, known collectively as
modernism, which linked the political crises with a crisis of representation a sense of that the old
ways of portraying the experience were no longer inadequate. The modernists therefore broke away
from such conventions as standard plots, verse forms, narrative techniques, and the boundaries of
genre. (Norton Anthology of World Literature Vol. D) It was through this genre that Postmodernism
was born of. When other problems began to settle and others began to rise, its birth changed things
even further than its predecessor. Looking at its definition found in Magil s Survey of

Theme Of Respect In The Maze Runner
Knowledge will give you power, but character respect Bruce Lee. In James Dashner s The Maze
Runner, respect is an underlying theme that is constant throughout the novel. Respect is not
something that is gained it is always earned, it takes something meaningful to earn it. Respect is
not given idly by any person and is shown in the novel. Respect and trust usually go hand in hand
and are good things to have in a community. One of the things that can earn respect is friendshipand
loyalty, if they become good friends and are loyal to each other respect will come easily. Although
respect does not necessarily result in friendship. Another thing that earns respect is the value of
knowledge and experience. If one runs into another who does the same thing as them, but better,
instantly they gain a form of respect in either form of admiration or jealousy. Lastly respect can be
earned through actions of cleverness and intelligence as people who see people do clever or smart
things usually gain some admiration and respect. In the novel, The Maze Runner, respect is
represented throughout the novel through a variety of forms such as, friendship, experience and
actions. To start, respect and trust can be earned through a good friendship and/or a strong loyalty.
When someone is loyal to another, they instantly acknowledge it due to its positive effect. Being
loyal and doing the right thing even though it is wrong is a definite cause of respect, Thomas says,

Composed Upon Westminster Bridge By William Wordsworth And...
The two poems Composed upon Westminster Bridge by William Wordsworth and London by
William Blake s both show sharp contrasting views about the city of London. Wordsworth sees the
beauty in London whilst Blake only sees the ugliness. It is through these different perspectives of
London that both poets present their ideas of nature, darkness and suffering.
In London , Blake portrays a gloomy perspective of London, whereas in Composed upon
Westminster Bridge Wordsworth s tone is bright and buoyant leading the readers to paint an
optimistic picture of London. Blake chooses to describe London s midnight streets in order to
reinforce the theme of London s darkness and represents a city full of misery whilst Wordsworth,

The fact that Marriage hearse is in a neat rhyming structure makes the words drum into the readers

Both Blake and Wordsworth use similar literary devices of first person, tone and imagery to
describe their thoughts about London, however these techniques have a different effect in each
poem. Blake uses dark imagery to suggest poverty, bloodshed, disease and death in order to
convince the reader of the melancholy and morbidity of the city whilst Wordsworth uses
imagery to portray a charming and entrancing London, full of splendour, tranquillity and
serenity. Wordsworth also uses imagery to provide the reader with the idea that London is a
quiet and peaceful city. Wordsworth uses simile to describe the city s beauty, this is evident in
the line This city now doth, like a garment, wear the beauty of the morning; silent, bare . His use
of simile in this line suggests that the city is clothed in beauty however it is a beauty that is
removed when people wake as suggested by the use of the word garment . Blake also uses first
person in London to increase the immediacy of his tone and to narrate the things he observes as he
walks through the streets of London. In the first stanza, it opens near the River Thames where he
observes that everything he sees is chartered . the use of the word

King Leopold s Ghost Analysis
King Leopold s Ghost Analysis The real names of our people were destroyed during slavery. The
last name of my forefathers was taken from them when they were brought to America and made
slaves, and then the name of the slave master was given, which we refuse; we reject that name
today and refuse it. I never acknowledge it whatsoever. In King Leopold s Ghost talks about
Leopold II ruling over the Belgium Congo territory. He forced the enslaved individuals to do
horrific and exhausting tasks, and people who disagreed with him made it known of his horrible
acts. Several countries began to disagree with Leopold s dictatorship. He was a tyrant. King
Leopold s Ghost is a phenomenal book because of the way individuals can make a difference in
others lives. The theme of this book is something that relates to our lives everyday. Our actions
can impacts individuals tremendously. There were several people that spoke out throughout this
book, but the most important one is George Washington Williams. He was a minister, historian,
and was in the Civil War. Williams was a very strong headed individual, and when Leopold tried
to persuade him not to visit the Congo he did not listen. What he witnessed in the Congo made
him ill. He wrote letters that were published in newspapers making the horrific events that Leopold
was ruling over. An example that Williams gives is very blunt, but just a mild event that occurred
in the Congo under Leopold s ruling. The Courts of your Majesty s

The Character Of Romeo Montague in William Shakespeare s...
The Character Of Romeo Montague in William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet Romeo is one
of the main characters in Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet and is portrayed as a tragic figure,
who is guided by his destiny. Shakespeare initially introduces Romeo to be a romantic
sentimentalist, who is over obsessed with his own emotions. Romeo, however, loses these
personality traits towards the end of the play, and becomes more mature after falling deeply in love
with Juliet. His love for her is strong and over whelming, and Shakespeare vividly represents this by
dramatic visual moments throughout the play, culminating in the tragic climax of Romeo s suicide,
to join with his Juliet in death.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is one of the many themes that Shakespeare provides to suggest foreboding early on in the
play. The omen is ambiguous as it firstly implies Romeo is worrying about something that will
not happen and is generally nervous about arriving uninvited. However, it could imply that in
going to the Ball, he will meet Juliet, which will cause drastic events to happen, and eventually
lead to both their deaths. This is one of the main themes during the play and is successfully
entwined in Romeo s script to introduce foreboding to the audience without the character realising
it. He disregards the omen, and continues with his friends to the Ball. On arrival, he seeks
Rosaline, but his attentions rapidly divert to Juliet Capulet, She seems to hang upon the cheek of
night displays Romeo s persona to be fickle and to have a fluctuating nature. He had before
thought Rosaline to be beautiful, but now he sees Juliet as the most beautiful woman in the world.
This is one of the more romantic traits of Romeo, and Shakespeare uses many metaphors and
similes in Romeo s speech and successfully interlaces them to represent the poetic and child like
wonder that Romeo experiences when he sets eyes on Juliet. Romeo s role is consistent throughout
as The Romantic Lover ,

The Duchess did not have a chance to learn about the men that she was pleasuring. The men that

be the same type of awakening that Oakhurst had when he left from Poker Flat. Being a gambler
by trait, he was often all alone with nobody to rely on besides himself and the cards. He referred
to everything as if it were a card game. Oakhurst realizes that the way to survive is by caring for

Rhetorical Analysis Of Trump s Inaugural Address
When a president makes his inauguration speech, it usually talks about what is going on with the
country, and illustrates what will be done to fix it. Compared to his predecessors, Trump s speech
was much shorter. I am convinced that he thought that he best thing to do was play it safe in the
speech to save himself from all the criticism that he could. This did not however work out in his
favor for the reason that he might have said more about his presidency by saying less. Trump
opened his speech, not talking about what previous presidents accomplished, instead just
acknowledged and thanked them. It is a very simple and safe introduction to a speech that will

Graphs are an important way to communicate and visualize trends and patterns that are otherwise
difficult to identify and gain valuable insight into a given relation or problem in this way.
Information when given in the form of tables can be easily graphed and be used to make
educated predictions and decisions. A graph, like an equation, is the language that best helps
recognize the relationship, which exists between the variables involved in a situation. Graphs, like
languages, have specific rules, some of which date back to ancient civilizations. It is believed that
the coordinate system was first used in ancient times for urban planning, surveying, and astronomy
in the old Egyptian and Babylonian civilizations. For thousands of years, the rectangular
coordinate system was used, not exactly the way we know it today. It was not until the 1600s,
when it was rediscovered by the mathematicians of the time that geometric problems could be
solved by using algebraic equations and vice versa. Rene Descartes (1596 1650) and Pierre Fermat
(1601 1665) are credited with being the first mathematicians in taking such an approach. This
approach evolved over time into the Cartesian coordinate system, as it is known today.

expresses freedom using characters, situations and objects. The characters in the story are
Bernarda s daughters who are under her control and have extremely little freedom and privacy by
being forced to abide by her rules. Freedom and Repression are most significant themes conveyed
throughout the play, the two opposing themes together are important to understanding both the

you send him a message not to come? And Bernarda responded, ... My blood won t mingle with
the Humanas while I live! This is an example of how different Martirio s circumstances were
from Adela and Angustias. Martirio was repressed from her desire for freedom from her mother
and became jealous when her sister s were not denied in the same way. These two themes lead
the characters to believe that escaping one prison will make them free, only to be confined to
another. This is the situation the women in the play recognize as a inner conflict. An example

Analysis Of Oddi Banding
Oddi Banding Weight Loss Procedure Morbidly obese patients have recently been introduced to
a rapid weight loss procedure called Oddi Banding. The procedure is comparable to gastric
banding in that it works by attaching a small plastic band around the sphincter of Oddi (SO),
compressing the outer wall. The SO has many different important purposes that are adversely
affected by this procedure. Some of these side effects include: anemia, elevated white blood cell
count, abnormal discomfort after eating, scaring of the Sphincter of Oddi, damage to surrounding
organs and even death. All of these elements will be explained below in further detail.

If this new tissue is not flexible and is unable to preform the task required of the SO it will be
detrimental to the surrounding organs such as the pancreas and more importantly the individual s
health. The pancreas is responsible for releasing enzymes to aid in the digestion and absorption of
food in the small intestine; it also creates hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. (Kathryn L.
McCance, 2014)(NCBI, 2013) These enzymes travel through the pancreatic duct and out the
Sphincter of Oddi into the Duodenum. If scar tissue is present at the SO it will be incapable of
relaxing and allowing for pancreatic enzymes to pass through into the duodenum resulting in a
backup of secretions. The overflow of secretions in the pancreas causes autodigestion (the digestion
of the pancreas own tissues) resulting in inflammation. This autodigestion can then cause
coagulative necrosis (cell death caused by ischemia and anemia), vascular damage, fat necrosis and
the growth of pseudocysts (fluid filled sac in the wall of the pancreas). All of these abnormalities,
injuries to the vessel walls, inflammation and coagulation malfunctions trigger an activation of
leukocytes. These responses will cause vasodilation and hypotension resulting in shock. The later
systemic effects of this can be respiratory arrest, cardiac failure, and renal failure

My Vocation, My Calling Change My Life
Vocation is the calling a person experience in regards of aspirations in their life. Vocation in an
invitation by God to pursue our love for something in particular, some people hear this calling
early on in life, while other spend many years trying to find it. This paper will explore types of God
callings, my callingand how my calling change my life. One of the first calling most people
experience is the call to work. God created people to work, he did not discriminate against men
and women, in his eyes both need to work to be able to provide for them and their families.
Many people are fortunate to have this calling, but unfortunately more people are out of jobs
and this is not because God did not give them this calling, but it is because of different
circumstances they experience. Genesis 1:27 28 expresses God s calling to work God created
humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it;
and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing
that moves upon the earth. This passage speaks to me because it proves that God wants people to
contribute to the community.
The second calling is to live, not only to work: people have to work, our jobs are necessary, but
sometimes we get caught up in our jobs that we forget to realize what is truly important and what
gives our life

Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Oppositional Defiant Disorder is a tricky diagnosis when it comes to teens. Let s face it, a whole
lot of teens are defiant by nature, so let s take a closer look at this complex disorder. At times, even
the best brightest will defy the rules, push limits, and challenge authority. It is the nature of
adolescence. The difference between normal adolescent rebellion and O.D.D. is that teens with this
disorder will thrive on pushing buttons creating conflict. When it comes to teens with oppositional
defiant disorder, it s all about control and power.

This is where parenting a teen with Oppositional Defiant Disorder gets tricky.
Let s talk about two major tools you can use when struggling with setting limits and the power
struggles that come along with Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
First, pick your battles. Now, I m not saying let a teen get away with anything, by now most of
you realize that I m all about teaching teens personal responsibility, but, when you know that the
outcome is going to be conflict, you have the option of picking the best time and place for this
battle. If delaying an argument is the best option to get your teen out the door and onto the school
bus, push the pause button, let it go temporarily, and come back to the situation when time is on
your side. This gets your teen out the door and keeps them on task, and it allows both sides time to
reflect on the situation.
Second, know what rules bend and what rules break. In an ideal world, all rules would be
followed, without issues, but this is the really real world, and a parent that knows when to be
flexible is going to have less conflict, and is less likely to find themselves caught up in a power

Paris Street; Rainy Day (Fig. 1). Depicting little to no amount of communication and physical
contact between the various figures walking through the intersection, this significantly unique
painting provides a sense of isolation and detachment. Caillebotte utilises several techniques in
order to construct a powerful two point perspective in his painting. By determining where the lines
of the objects in the painting recede towards and eventually meet along the horizon, the vanishing
points can be located. As the illusion of a three dimensional space is recreated onto a picture plane

The smaller the figures are, the further away they are portrayed. Furthermore, when the parallel
lines of an object on a picture plane extend toward a single point, the object will appear as
though it is further away. Thus, these lines will eventually converge and disappear at a point in
the implied distance. This is known as the vanishing point. Objects on a picture plane can appear
larger or smaller, depending on the distance from the viewer. For instance, in Paris Street; Rainy
Day, the architecture towering over the horizon provides a significant indication of where the
vanishing points are situated. The lines representing the roof, mouldings, windows and balconies
on the façade of the building in the middle left of the painting recede diagonally towards the
horizon. If these lines visibly extended further, they would converge at two points on either side of
the building along the horizon. More specifically, these vanishing points would be located by the
umbrella on the left and just to the right of the lamp post along the horizon. Whether there are one,
two, or three, vanishing points enable one to recreate a perceived point of view with form and
depth in space. Perspective is a fundamental component of producing realistic landscapes, still lifes,
portraits, etc. As demonstrated through the exploration of the perspective in

Texas Triangle:
The Texas Triangle is one of only eleven megaregions in the United States. Megaregions are urban

cities are connected by a three major Interstates 45, 10, and Interstate 35. If you followed those

Ultrasound Therapeutic Effect
Piezoelectric effect was discovered by Currie brothers in 1880. Further, in 1927, Loomis, wood
studied the ultrasound therapeutic ability. In 1940, Ludwig and Struthers published first research

Mexican people believe that life still continues after death and they celebrate it as the holiday

Mexican Art has a different subtopic. The subtopic in this year is La Muerte NiГ±a, which means
the death child and refers to the loss of innocent life. Forty three students who were kidnapped and
killed inspire the subtopic. This exhibition contains 13 ofrendas including 116 artworks, which has

the fear and sorrow of death. Different rooms have different mediums of artworks. This gives the
exhibition an outstanding rhythm that is different from normal exhibitions, which would not make
this exhibition stiff. The artworks in this exhibition do not only reflect the theme but also make a

The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe
In this poem, the speaker is distraught over the death of his love, Lenore. He tries to ease his
pain by distracting himself with a book of poems; The Forgotten Lore but is interrupted by a
tapping at [his] chamber door (5) and finds darkness there and nothing more. (24) He was visited
one night in his bedroom by a raven that only knows the word Nevermore. However, the
gentleman is unaware of the bird s limited vocabulary and proceeds to beg and plead with the
bird to answer his questions about Lenore and her death, but the bird continues to respond one
way. Being so grief stricken over the loss of his love, the narrator takes the bird as a prophet, and
is convinced by the end of the poem that he will never again see or hold Lenore even in the
afterlife. Through this poem, Poe uses symbolism, imagery and tone, as well as a variety of
poetic elements to enforce his theme of sadness and death of the one he loved. Poe uses imagery
and symbols to epitomize his poem. Two central images for the focus of this poem are light and
darkness, creating two different worlds. For example, Poe uses Lenore, his love to exemplify this
image of light by referring to her as the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore,
(11) as well as those angels she has now joined. Another image of light would be the lamplight the
narrator uses to light his chamber, his sanctuary from the darkness of the outside. To portray this
other world filled with sadness and despair the author

A mortgage opened by two people is commonly referred to as a joint mortgage.
Alternate Text

Relationships are all about making a commitment. After saying the I do s and committing to each
other, couples may want to take the step toward homeownership, requiring another type of
commitment: the mortgage. When two people open a mortgage together, one is named the
primary borrower and the other the secondary borrower. Determining who will be the primary and
secondary borrowers depends on the type of joint mortgage opened and whether the borrowers are
co owners or co signers. Both have an obligation to pay the mortgage debt and collection actions are
taken against both if they default on the loan.
Co Owners
In joint mortgages where the two people are married or cohabitating and will share ownership of
the home, the primary borrower is designated based on credit score and income. Lenders have
done away with the antiquated method of automatically assigning the husband as primary
borrower, assuming he makes the most money and has a better credit score. Now the primary
borrower is the person with the best credit score, because a higher credit score equals a better
interest rate. If both borrowers have similar credit scores, lenders will list the person with the
higher income as the primary borrower.
Co Signers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In these cases, the person opening the mortgage and who will own the home would list himself
as the primary borrower and the co signer as the secondary borrower. The primary borrower can
use the co signer s credit score to help get a better interest rate and qualify for the loan. Co signers
have no ownership interest in the property being purchased in these situations, and they do not
appear on the deed to the home.

Style Of Filmmaking In The Killing, By Stanley Kubrick
Stanley Kubrick is known for his distinct style of filmmaking in such films like 2001: A Space
Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange. While those films do showcase the sense of auteurship from
Kubrick, his earlier works are more conventional when compared to the 1950s style of filmmaking.
The Killing is a 1956 noir filmand Kubrick s third feature film, and was produced by United
Artists with a $200,000 investment and $320,000 budget from James B. Harris. This was also the
first collaboration of producer James B. Harris and Kubrick, and would later on produce two more
films. Unlike famous noir films like Double Indemnity, The Killingdid not become instantly
successful, but it became more noteworthy in the retrospect as Kubrick became an established
filmmaker in his later films. Like almost every Kubrick film, The Killing was based on another
material, and in this case, a 1955 low budget novel titled Clean Break by crime novelist Lionel
White. The movie was adapted by hardboiled author Jim Thompson, in which Kubrick was also
credited, and when compared to the book, Thompson did expand the roles of the characters and
motivations. The movie does retain the non linear structure of the book, and it also adds voiceover
to explain the time change. Between the two, the film did become more popular than the book,
especially when the book s title is often changed to The Killing in retrospect.
In the film s Production Code Administration file between 1955 and 1956, the

Gorden England requesting for a surface ship that would be involved in the War on Terrorism be
named NEW YORK even though surface ships were not normally named after states. The request
was approved 28 August 2002 to name the ship not only after the state but also the city. During her
construction seven and a half tons of the world trade center steel was forged to form the ship s bow.
There are two other pieces of World Trade Center steel displayed throughout the ship. She has a

The Seated Statue of Nehy is a white limestone Egyptian sculpture from the New Kingdom
period dating back to 1250 1200 BCE with the measurements of 51 15/16 x 17 3/4 x 34 9/16
inches. The sculpture s accession number is 22.106. It was discovered in the Memphite
necropolis of Saqqara and was acquired by Henry Walters in 1924 (Egyptian Art New Kingdom

sculpture. It is typical of Egyptian sculpture to have an upright and stiff posture and that is
exactly how Nehy is portrayed. She is depicted like she would be in everyday life, but in an

Mistress of the House, the Chantress of the Mistress of Heaven, She of the Southern Sycamore,

A Fossil Lagerstatten Is A Form Of Sedimentary Deposits
A fossil Lagerstätten is a form of sedimentary deposit that is of high value due to the fossils that it
contains (Clarkson, 1998). The geological horizons containing these deposits were named by the
German Palaeontologist Adolf Seilacher in 1985 (Nudds Seldon, 2008), Lager meaning Stratum
and Stätte meaning place (Allaby, 2013).
Palaeontologists divide fossil Lagerstätten into two types; Konservant Lagerstätten (Nudds
Seldon, 2008), or conservation deposits, are horizons that show exceptional preservation of
organisms, this may also include soft part preservation in some cases (Clarkson, 1998). This type
of preservation usually occurs due to the inhibition of decay of the soft tissue (Briggs, 2014). For
marine fossils, this can occur because of either rapid burial of the biota (Clarkson, 1998) or
deposition in areas of low oxygen concentration (Briggs, 2014).
The second type is Konzentrat Lagerstätten (Nudds Seldon, 2008) or concentration
Lagerstätten, which are deposits on certain horizons in which an exceptionally large number of
fossil have been preserved. These usually occur when there has been a low rate of sedimentation
over a time period (Clarkson, 1998).
Discovered by Charles Walcott in 1909, The Burgess Shaleis an example of conservation
Lagerstätte (Briggs, 2014). Dating back to 505 million years ago, it provides fossils of marine
organisms dating back to the middle Cambrian period, not long after the Cambrian explosion, a
period of time when organisms

Full Practice Authority On Floridian Nurse Practitioners
Full Practice Authority Affecting Floridian Nurse Practitioners The Problem Affecting Floridian
Nurse Practitioners Advanced practice nurse practitioners (APRNs) have been attempting for
many years to eliminate barriers that prevent full practice authority nationwide. Each state has its
own licensure and regulates APRN practice roles. APRNs benefit health care by addressing two
pertinent needs: the lack of available physicians; and, the increase in patient comorbidities (Gray,
2016). Florida is about to experience a shortage of medical practitioners. According to the
Physician Workforce Annual Report of 2014, statistics state 13.4% of medical providers are

Therefore, reimbursement to APRNs is limited for the many services that are provided to
patients (Yee, Boukus, Cross Samuel, 2013). In Florida, legislative sessions are held at specific
dates throughout the year. According to the Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners
(FLANP), three specific bills of interest that affect ARNP scope of practice: SB 96 is proposed
in to allow ARNPs to be medical directors; S634/HB 645 will enable ARNPs to sign Certificates
of Involuntary Commitment (Baker Act) and CS HB129 will declare all Floridian ARNPs to
be medical directors and gain signature ability and HB 7011 which initiates independent full
practice for NPs (Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners (FLANP), 2017). Policy
development and dissemination is managed by committees and subcommittees addressing health
in the state of Florida that will read, deliberate, amend, approve and pass on the proposed bills to
the governor, Rick Scott, for final signature approval. APRN Role in Policy Changes In recent
years, APRNs have been very vocal through many nursing coalitions and associations. The voices
of all ARNPs seeking full practice authority has been heard with the proposed bills. The Florida
Panhandle Nurse Practitioner Coalition (FRNPC), has given information to all ARNPs to keep
ahead in legislative issues. A white paper published by the American College of Physicians have

According to the textbook, a company s competitive strategy deals exclusively with the specifics of management s game plan for competing successfully (Gamble, 93). The main objective of a low cost provider is to achieve a lower overall cost than its main competitors and rivals by means of underpricing (Gamble, 93). This is also known as price advantage in order to attract customers. Companies that use this strategy will achieve high sales volumes while striving for low cost margins. For example, Wal Mart is known to have considerable low prices that attract a broad spectrum of customers. People who shop at Wal Mart are familiar with their Rollback Prices which focus on the idea of everyday low prices that are sold at a far cheaper rate than its main competitors. Marcus said Words that everyone once used are now obsolete, and so are the men whose names were once on everyone s lips: Camillus, Caeso, Volesus, Dentatus, and to a lesser degree Scipio and Cato, and yes, even Augustus, Hadrian, and Antoninus are less spoken of now than they were in their own days. One of the most distinctive accessories was the watch chain hanging from the pants, between the legs, a symbol of their manhood. The other significant element was the real leather soled shoes. These two traits were especially shocking for those who did not accept the community: They were symbols of a more open sexuality and a disregard for the rationing policy that reign in the country. The zoot suit became a strong political symbol due to the Zoot Suit Riot and the Sleepy Lagoon murder, two shocking events that derailed the relationships between Anglos and Mexican Americans. The first one occurred on May 31st, 1943, when a group of youngsters dressed in zoot suits were attacked by Anglo youths, many of them in Navy attire. • 13. Grand Nursing Theory Paper From the beginning of time, great emphasis has been placed on a need for care due to illness and disease. In the past, medical knowledge in nursing guided and provided the greatest direction for practice. It was not until the 1960 s when Dr. Madeleine Leininger felt there was a need of shift from biomedicine toward integrating culturally sensitive care within the profession of nursing. The goal of the theory has been to use research findings to provide culturespecific care that would be culturally congruent, safe, and beneficial to people of diverse or similar cultures for their health, wellbeing, and healing, and to help face disability and death (McFarland, Wehbe Alamah, 2015, p. 6). Utilizing the seven chosen criteria listed in Willis (2002, pp.119 122) Overview of Grand Nursing Theories, including the contemporary social, political, and economic realities, I will be describing and analyzing Madeleine M. Leininger s Theory of Culture Care Diversity and Universality. • 14. Peter Singer Speciesism The idea that all humans are born equal has been something that has been almost installed in our minds. However, in the eyes of Peter Singer, we as humans are constantly violating our own moral code in the way we treat animals. Singer refers to this as speciesism and compares our treatment of animals to the same way sexists and racists treat those who they deem inferior. He also argues that the grounds on which they base their prejudice on are equally fragile. He illustrates this by comparing speciesists to racists. He recalls, The racists violates the principle of equality by giving greater weight to the interests of his own race...similarly the speciesist allows the interests of his own species to override the greater interests of members of another species (53.) He initiates this argument by explaining how our willingness to declare all humans as equal when the opposite is fundamentally true. Singer writes, Like it or not, we must face the fact that humans come in different shapes and sizes; they come with differing moral capacities, differing intellect...if the demand for equality was based on the actual equality of all humanbeings, we would have to stop demanding equality (51). Singer seeks to establish that our push for equality ends once the being in question is no longer human. Once he establishes this, he can quickly draw parallels between our unequal treatment of animals and humans. He evolves what initially begins as a far fetched claim to a nuanced and ... • 15. Anabolic Steroids And Its Effects On The Body A 16 year old high school junior was told by his coach that he needed to be stronger and faster if he wanted to play more in his senior year. The young man was discouraged because he has been trying for years to gain weight and muscle, but it just was not enough. He remembered a friend telling him about what anabolic steroids had done for him and decided to try it, he would later regret that decision. Anabolic steroids are drugs that reciprocate certain natural hormones in the body such as the male hormone testosterone, which can improve endurance and performance and stimulate muscle growth. Even though anabolic steroids may provide the body image and results some adolescents want, they can be harmful to the adolescent body and mind, it s not fair to those who gained weight and muscle naturally because they may have a smaller chance of recognition, and there are safer alternatives that can assist in gaining weight and muscle. According to Dr. Ali Mohamadi, a medical doctor from the FDA, states that, Various studies have been conducted and generally reflect the findings of a Youth Risk and Behavior Surveillance System study, which estimated that among U.S. high school students, 4.9% of males and 2.4% of females have used anabolic steroids at least once in their lives. That s 375,000 young men and 175,000 young women. Anabolic steroids can pose a major threat to the adolescent body and mind, especially if they are abused over a long period of time. Feudalism was a relationship among the upper class, in which a member of the nobility was granted land, and in return promised to protect the king, who gave them their land. The nobilityreferred to are counts in Europe and daimyo in Japan. Both are generally governors who rule over a substantial subsection of the empire with certain duties and obligations. The difference when comparing societies and looking within societies was income only made a difference when looking within societies. This is a result of an idiographic approach where we look at the relative income within a specific society to understand the social status patterns that s occurring. It links to the idea talked about in class about scale and comparing information from the blockface data versus the census tract. Romeo, however, loses these personality traits towards the end of the play, and becomes more mature after falling deeply in love with Juliet. • 34. Analysis Of Oddi Banding Oddi Banding Weight Loss Procedure Morbidly obese patients have recently been introduced to a rapid weight loss procedure called Oddi Banding. The procedure is comparable to gastric banding in that it works by attaching a small plastic band around the sphincter of Oddi (SO), compressing the outer wall. The SO has many different important purposes that are adversely affected by this procedure. Some of these side effects include: anemia, elevated white blood cell count, abnormal discomfort after eating, scaring of the Sphincter of Oddi, damage to surrounding organs and even death. All of these elements will be explained below in further detail. (CQUniversity, 2015) What is the Sphincter of Oddi? The Sphincter of Oddi is a construction... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this new tissue is not flexible and is unable to preform the task required of the SO it will be detrimental to the surrounding organs such as the pancreas and more importantly the individual s health. The pancreas is responsible for releasing enzymes to aid in the digestion and absorption of food in the small intestine; it also creates hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. (Kathryn L. McCance, 2014)(NCBI, 2013) These enzymes travel through the pancreatic duct and out the Sphincter of Oddi into the Duodenum. If scar tissue is present at the SO it will be incapable of relaxing and allowing for pancreatic enzymes to pass through into the duodenum resulting in a backup of secretions. The overflow of secretions in the pancreas causes autodigestion (the digestion of the pancreas own tissues) resulting in inflammation. This autodigestion can then cause coagulative necrosis (cell death caused by ischemia and anemia), vascular damage, fat necrosis and the growth of pseudocysts (fluid filled sac in the wall of the pancreas). All of these abnormalities, injuries to the vessel walls, inflammation and coagulation malfunctions trigger an activation of leukocytes. These responses will cause vasodilation and hypotension resulting in shock. The later systemic effects of this can be respiratory arrest, cardiac failure, and renal failure ... • 35. My Vocation, My Calling Change My Life Vocation is the calling a person experience in regards of aspirations in their life. Vocation in an invitation by God to pursue our love for something in particular, some people hear this calling early on in life, while other spend many years trying to find it. This paper will explore types of God callings, my callingand how my calling change my life. One of the first calling most people experience is the call to work. God created people to work, he did not discriminate against men and women, in his eyes both need to work to be able to provide for them and their families. Many people are fortunate to have this calling, but unfortunately more people are out of jobs and this is not because God did not give them this calling, but it is because of different circumstances they experience. Genesis 1:27 28 expresses God s calling to work God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. This passage speaks to me because it proves that God wants people to contribute to the community. The second calling is to live, not only to work: people have to work, our jobs are necessary, but sometimes we get caught up in our jobs that we forget to realize what is truly important and what gives our life ... Let s face it, a whole lot of teens are defiant by nature, so let s take a closer look at this complex disorder. At times, even the best brightest will defy the rules, push limits, and challenge authority. It is the nature of adolescence. The difference between normal adolescent rebellion and O.D.D. is that teens with this disorder will thrive on pushing buttons creating conflict. When it comes to teens with oppositional defiant disorder, it s all about control and power. Every parent/child relationship has a give take when it comes to the endless power struggle of parenting, but O.D.D. teens take things to a more severe level. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is where parenting a teen with Oppositional Defiant Disorder gets tricky. Let s talk about two major tools you can use when struggling with setting limits and the power struggles that come along with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. First, pick your battles. Now, I m not saying let a teen get away with anything, by now most of you realize that I m all about teaching teens personal responsibility, but, when you know that the outcome is going to be conflict, you have the option of picking the best time and place for this battle. If delaying an argument is the best option to get your teen out the door and onto the school bus, push the pause button, let it go temporarily, and come back to the situation when time is on your side. This gets your teen out the door and keeps them on task, and it allows both sides time to reflect on the situation. Second, know what rules bend and what rules break. In an ideal world, all rules would be followed, without issues, but this is the really real world, and a parent that knows when to be flexible is going to have less conflict, and is less likely to find themselves caught up in a power ... Depicting little to no amount of communication and physical contact between the various figures walking through the intersection, this significantly unique painting provides a sense of isolation and detachment. Caillebotte utilises several techniques in order to construct a powerful two point perspective in his painting. By determining where the lines of the objects in the painting recede towards and eventually meet along the horizon, the vanishing points can be located. The smaller the figures are, the further away they are portrayed. Furthermore, when the parallel lines of an object on a picture plane extend toward a single point, the object will appear as though it is further away. Thus, these lines will eventually converge and disappear at a point in the implied distance. This is known as the vanishing point. Objects on a picture plane can appear larger or smaller, depending on the distance from the viewer. For instance, in Paris Street; Rainy Day, the architecture towering over the horizon provides a significant indication of where the vanishing points are situated. The lines representing the roof, mouldings, windows and balconies on the faГ§ade of the building in the middle left of the painting recede diagonally towards the horizon. If these lines visibly extended further, they would converge at two points on either side of the building along the horizon. More specifically, these vanishing points would be located by the umbrella on the left and just to the right of the lamp post along the horizon. Whether there are one, two, or three, vanishing points enable one to recreate a perceived point of view with form and depth in space. He tries to ease his pain by distracting himself with a book of poems; The Forgotten Lore but is interrupted by a tapping at [his] chamber door (5) and finds darkness there and nothing more. (24) He was visited one night in his bedroom by a raven that only knows the word Nevermore. However, the gentleman is unaware of the bird s limited vocabulary and proceeds to beg and plead with the bird to answer his questions about Lenore and her death, but the bird continues to respond one way. Being so grief stricken over the loss of his love, the narrator takes the bird as a prophet, and is convinced by the end of the poem that he will never again see or hold Lenore even in the afterlife. Through this poem, Poe uses symbolism, imagery and tone, as well as a variety of poetic elements to enforce his theme of sadness and death of the one he loved. Poe uses imagery and symbols to epitomize his poem. Two central images for the focus of this poem are light and darkness, creating two different worlds. For example, Poe uses Lenore, his love to exemplify this image of light by referring to her as the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore, (11) as well as those angels she has now joined. After saying the I do s and committing to each other, couples may want to take the step toward homeownership, requiring another type of commitment: the mortgage. When two people open a mortgage together, one is named the primary borrower and the other the secondary borrower. Determining who will be the primary and secondary borrowers depends on the type of joint mortgage opened and whether the borrowers are co owners or co signers. Both have an obligation to pay the mortgage debt and collection actions are taken against both if they default on the loan. Co Owners In joint mortgages where the two people are married or cohabitating and will share ownership of the home, the primary borrower is designated based on credit score and income. The Killing is a 1956 noir filmand Kubrick s third feature film, and was produced by United Artists with a $200,000 investment and $320,000 budget from James B. Harris. Like almost every Kubrick film, The Killing was based on another material, and in this case, a 1955 low budget novel titled Clean Break by crime novelist Lionel White. The movie was adapted by hardboiled author Jim Thompson, in which Kubrick was also credited, and when compared to the book, Thompson did expand the roles of the characters and motivations. The movie does retain the non linear structure of the book, and it also adds voiceover to explain the time change. • 52. A Fossil Lagerstatten Is A Form Of Sedimentary Deposits A fossil LagerstГ¤tten is a form of sedimentary deposit that is of high value due to the fossils that it contains (Clarkson, 1998). The geological horizons containing these deposits were named by the German Palaeontologist Adolf Seilacher in 1985 (Nudds Seldon, 2008), Lager meaning Stratum and StГ¤tte meaning place (Allaby, 2013). Palaeontologists divide fossil LagerstГ¤tten into two types; Konservant LagerstГ¤tten (Nudds Seldon, 2008), or conservation deposits, are horizons that show exceptional preservation of organisms, this may also include soft part preservation in some cases (Clarkson, 1998). This type of preservation usually occurs due to the inhibition of decay of the soft tissue (Briggs, 2014). For marine fossils, this can occur because of either rapid burial of the biota (Clarkson, 1998) or deposition in areas of low oxygen concentration (Briggs, 2014). The second type is Konzentrat LagerstГ¤tten (Nudds Seldon, 2008) or concentration LagerstГ¤tten, which are deposits on certain horizons in which an exceptionally large number of fossil have been preserved.
