Ohio V. United States in Violations from the Constitution
Both the fourth and fifth amendment protect the privacies of individuals from governmental intrusion.
Appellant Boyd complained that she was denied her constitutional right to testify. The right to testify
comes from many amendments and clauses in the constitution such as the due process clauses, the
Fifth, and Fourteenth amendment. The court held that the search for and seizure of evidence within an
accused s possession might well result in compelling the accused to be a witness against himself. Then,
the court reasoned that the search was unreasonable ab initio and it makes it a violation of the fourth
amendment. Justice Black mentioned in his concurrence that if something is obtained illegally, it
cannot be used again the appellant. The Boyd s case was not the only case mentioned in the Mapp v.
Ohio opinion. Additionally, Weeks v. United States (1914) was a case that determined the warrantless
seizure of items from an individual is a violation of the Fourth Amendment. The police seized a few
papers from Freemont Weeks s home and he was charged with transporting lottery tickets through the
mail. These papers were taken from his home without a warrant. Weeks asked that his papers be
returned to him. This case is another example of the violation of the fourth amendment. The opinion
giving in this case agreed that the constitution protects the rights of the citizens unless someone
committed a crime. Therefore, the government has the permission to restrict someone s

Act 1 And 2 Of The Play Macbeth
In acts 1 and 2 of the play Macbeth by Shakespeare, the characters Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are
presented to the audience through soliloquies and dialogue between the two. Macbeth is presented as
brave, ambitious and guilty in Acts 1 and 2 of the play through the way others describe him, what he
says and how he internally feels, and Lady Macbeth is presented as being determined and driven.
In Acts 1 and 2, Shakespeare presents Macbeth as brave by the way that others describe him. Before
the entrance of Macbeth onto the stage, the audience learns how brave Macbeth has just been on the
battlefield in honour of his king. He is called brave Macbeth because he deserves that name , we learn
about his valiant character by the ways that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is Duncan s kinsman and his subject , he reminds himself that what he is doing is wrong and that he
has the duty to protect the king, not murder him. In an interaction with Lady Macbeth prior to the
murder of Duncan, he says they shall proceed no longer in this business , this shows that he has a moral
compass, and he knows that what he is about to do is wrong. Also, previous to the murder he
hallucinates a dagger , it is a figment of his imagination because he is very anxious, and is already
feeling culpability. This part in the play is key in showing that Macbeth is consumed by guilt and
anxiety, so is not in the best mindset to commit a murder. Despite this, he still kills Duncan. His guilt
returns after the murder when an Amen [is] stuck in his throat, he knows that he has sinned against
God, and he is too anxious to say Amen. Immediately after killing Duncan he is afraid to think of what
[he has] done , he has immense regret and feels a lot of guilt.
In Acts 1 and 2, Lady Macbeth is presented as being determined and driven, for example in her first
entrance, when she shows her quick decisiveness upon reading Macbeth s letter. The letter tells of how
Macbeth could be King, and Lady Macbeth, who comes to the conclusion instantly that that is what
must happen, then goes on to highlight the problems of this in her first soliloquy, in which she says: Yet
do I fear thy nature, it is too full o th milk of human

Essay Intellectual Property and Copyrights Issues in China
Intellectual Property and Copyrights Issues in China
1. Introduction
China had made great improvement in deregulation and had complied with its obligations to follow
rules and agreements such as Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights
(TRIPS) as a new member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) since 2001. TRIPS introduced
intellectual property rules into the multilateral trading system. It ensures that computer programs will
be protected as literary works under the Berne Convention and outlines how databases should be
protected under copyright section.
As the rush to riches continues to gain pace, people s legal right to own private property is protected by
a law. However, Intellectual property and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The derivative works are encouraged with the condition that derivatives must be designated as
freeware. Most prominent offering is the GNU/Linux operating system.
When the original copyright holder explicitly relinquishes all rights to the software it is classified as
public domain software. All intellectual works and software are protected when they are committed to
a medium. Therefore it must be marked as such to be public domain.
2) What s the difference? Copyrights, patents, trademarks, etc
They are treated differently because they use different types of creations. According to WTO definition,
patents, industrial designs, integrated circuit designs, geographical indications and trademarks have to
be registered in order to be protected by law. However, copyright and trade secrets are protected
automatically according to specified conditions. There is no need to disclose and this is how
copyrighted computer software is constructed.
2. Copyright Status
China ranked second for software piracy after Vietnam in 2000 report from Business Software
Alliance. US is reckoned to lose $1.12bn in 2000 through Chinese copyright abuse. Chinese authorities
called for better implementations of Chinese copyright issues be implemented and they are trying to
maintain control over its expending internet population, which more than quadrupled during 1999 to
8.9 million users according to Chinese officials.

Self-Acceptance In Return To Hayneville By Gregory Orr
In Return to Hayneville by Gregory Orr is taking measure of self acceptance and accepting the change
that happens in a person s life. There several topics discussed in the text that connect to the author s
substance that make it stronger and easier to find what the author is taking measure of. The topics that
add to the substance of the text, are joy. Joy in having been given a full life. Another topic is
acceptance of your past and not letting it, cut the hope inside you. Lastly a willingness to live and
change your life. In Return to Hayneville acceptance is one of the few topics that enhance the author s
substance. In the text Orr younger self is trying to accept who he is, he is trying to find his place in the
world I longed to be like them, to transcend my confusions and the agonies of my past and be taken up
into some noble simplicity beyond change (2). In this quote, we, see young Orr fight for acceptance;
trying to accept who he is. As the story continues we can see Orr finally accepting who he is and his
past. Not letting it haunt him anymore Only, Hayneville wasn t my end. It was a place where my life
could have ended but didn t, and now, almost half a century later, I stand beside that closed down,
dilapidated jail, laughing (13). In the end, he let all the terrible things that had happened to him go. In
these quotes we can see Orr using Hampl s method of description, he is very descriptive when he
describes the jail and it makes the sentences

Dating A Nigerian Female In Nigeria
Nigerian females are the same as every other female in the planet, with those very same yearning as

Allow me to share facts about Nigerian females, a small idea on just what it takes to marry a female

The Meaning Of Liturgy In Here Be The Dragons By Michael...
The meaning of liturgy may not be debatable but how that definition functions becomes contestable as
it is performed in different settings. Thus, when interpreting a liturgical theology, it would figure, that
the same notion would apply. Joyce Zimmerman writes, ...Who interprets liturgy? Is the realization that
the practice of liturgy involves a number of competencies at a number of levels. Liturgy by its nature is
not static there by constitutes a multileveled evaluation and approach when interpreting. There are no
set parameters or guidelines that designate the functional aspects of the liturgy. Liturgy has the
potential to take on any form it desires in order to accomplish the objective of moving people to
discourse. Liturgy has this Michael Jackson appeal. It has the ability to conform to certain parameters
when needed but always functioning within itself to meet its on transcendent perspective. Like Michael
Jackson, liturgy can masks itself in a litany of otherness in order to make itself more appealing to
others in order to further the discourse. James Baldwin highlights Michael s chameleon like abilities in

Andre Agassi Family Expectations
The extract from Andre Agassi s autobiography Open is about family expectations. When you ex pect
something particular from someone or something you are talking about expectations. Family
expectations is, therefore when for example when your father has a certain expectation to you, about
the fact that you have to live up to a certain demand from your family.
In the extract from Andre Agassi s autobiography Open we are aware of how there are some fami ly
expectations in his family. He says: when his father was a child, his mother, Andre Agassi s
grandmother, had expectations to his father about how he should behave and be a good boy. He
mentions that she would beat him if he hadn t behaved properly. He describes his grandmother as a

In that way, he uses pathos to appeal to the reader. Because he is describing his family in the way he
does, it makes his autobiog raphy humoristic to read. Andre Agassi appeals a lot to the reader because
his way of writing is quite easy to deal with and easy to understand. The sentences in the
autobiography are mostly short and therefore, in this case, easier to understand. Andre Agassi is able to
tell his story about his life very well in his autobiography, he makes his autobiography personal in
which way makes the autobiography exciting and inviting. When he uses examples of a dialogue,
which have been going on between his father and him or his father and his grandmother he makes the

The demand for no taxation without representation was the primary force causing the American
revolutionary movement, and for some it was a symbol for democracy. American colonists had
colonized in the new world for trade, religion, and freedom. The British known as the mother country
realized that they could profit and gain advancements from the colonists so they took action. The
mother country imposed unlawful taxes on colonists that represented a form of democracy soon
leading to the great revolution. The Stamp Act Congress applied towards the beginning of the

The Ebola Virus Essay
Often people are reluctant to become involved in a situation unless it directly affects them. This paper
will prove that the Ebola virus is a serious problem facing the world s population. In the United States
today, we are not at risk for being infected; however, it is better to be prepared for the worst than to be
caught off guard. AIDS was the first of these African viruses to escape the wilds of the Third World and
harm others in the world. AIDS was ignored for too long before it began its global rampage.
Ebola, which was first encountered by humans in 1976, has slowly been weaving its way into the
human race. In 2014, Ebola began to strike humans outside of Africa. This is a scary time for

In the city of Kikwit, where Kimfumu fell ill, roughly 300,000 citizens were at risk (Contreras 49).
Only 300 miles away lies the capital city of Kinshasa, where 5 million people awaited the virus.
Luckily, the outbreak burned itself out after killing 245 in Kikwit last May, 1995 (Contreras 49). Of
those who died, three Red Cross volunteers and four nuns fell victim to the evil virus as a result of the
unsanitary medical conditions (49).
It is very important for people to realize why these deadly viruses keep evolving and reappearing.
Deforestation, climatic changes, and road building are just a few of the many man made changes which
can affect the normal state of things. Suddenly, people become exposed to unknown diseases and
viruses (Brownlee 61). It seems that as soon as medical experts cure a virus or clean up an outbreak,
another one quickly appears. Legionnaires disease, Lyme s disease, and hantavirus are just a few
examples of often deadly diseases scientists are being forced to fight (Caldwell 16).
When trying to detect what type of virus is attacking an organism, appearance is the most important
element. The Ebola virus looks like a thread with a loop at one end, sometimes in the shape of the
number six (6) (Guntheroth 36). First, the virus attacks the healthy cells of the human body and invades
their nucleus. Next, the virus genetic code is injected into the nucleus, and the previously healthy cell

A New Year At An Unforgettable Year
January 1, 2016. The ball dropped at midnight like it does every year, and people around the world
cheered on the coming of the new year. For most, a new year equals new opportunities, improvement,
and overall, hopes for a better year than the previous one. I was one of the people that thought this on
that particular New Years. 2015 hadn t been the greatest year of my life, so that meant 2016 would
have to be better. As much as I wanted that and wished it were true, it wasn t at all. On New Year s Day
2016, my grandpa was admitted into the hospital, and the months following were a roller coaster of
highs and lows that made 2016 an unforgettable year for many not so great reasons. During the
summer of 2015, my Grandpa Mert was diagnosed with prostate cancer. This particular type of cancer
is usually very treatable and is something you just live with, so it didn t worry our family too much.
Toward the end of the year, however, things started changing. On New Years Day, my grandpa was
admitted to the hospital for the flu, and the flu turned into pneumonia, and we found out later it was all
because of his cancer. He had tried one round of chemotherapy, but the treatment made his body so
weak that it couldn t fight off other viruses, like the flu and pneumonia. He ended up staying in the
hospital on and off (mostly on) for just over a month, and even had to spend his 75th birthday in the
hospital. As his health progressively worsened and his body became weaker, he

The Fuller Invented Pieces Of Theatrical Lighting...
Loie Fuller invented pieces of theatrical lighting equipment. She created a unique art form by crafting
multi media spectacles out of fabric, motion and light. In Fuller s autobiography, she talks about how
the glass of the rose windows in the great cathedral had rays of sunlight that came on into the church in
different directions, and made it very colorful. I think this is a moment that inspired her. It was
something that caught her attention, and she just couldn t simply take her mind from it. This was
something that encouraged her to keep digging into the things lights and colors can do in dance. In one
of her videos, it shows her twirling her dress in many different ways while her dress is also changing
colors. This was very unexpected for me. It was different and it made me think about the things she had
to do to make this idea into a creation. I was also able to see how the lights reflecting in the church
inspired her because the color of her dress kept changing as she twirled so smoothly. It was very settle
and something you wouldn t usually notice right away like the lights in the church. In the reading, she
states, What is the dance? It is motion. What is motion? The expression of a sensation. What is a
sensation? The reaction in the human body produced by an impression or an idea perceived by the
mind. A sensation is the reverberation that the body receives when an impression strikes the mind.

Character Formation
Give Your Full Attention to Character Formation 10th June 2010, Chennai, India For some time now, I
have been deeply thinking about the reason for the slow progress of abhyasis, and in some cases even
about the lack of their progress total lack of progress. Of course, some are progressing well, but that
too is perhaps more because of the personal attention that the Master gives them rather than by their
own effort, and I am not referring especially to their spiritual practice but to their lifestyle. You know,
in Sahaj Marg we are always talking of the Master giving the inner spiritual condition, which for him is
a matter of a second, whereas character formation is the responsibility of the abhyasi. I think, in

It doesn t mean it only laughs at locks. The locksmith is symbolic of every circumstance that can come
between the lover and the beloved. You remember the old story of the man who was so besotted with a
girl that when she went out of town, he followed her. There was a river to cross, and the river was in
flood. He did not know what to do and then he found something like a log of wood. He took that log of
wood and went across the river; and then he found a light burning in the house on the first floor. He
said, That must be my beloved s room. And he saw to his surprise a thick rope hanging, and he said,
Oh, she loves me so much that she has left a rope for me, and he climbed up using it. And when he
entered the room, the girl was stunned. She said, How did you come? He said Oh, there was a boat, you
know, there was a log of wood; I crossed the river. And you have left this rope for me. And to their
horror, they found that the log of wood was a human corpse and the rope was a python! Now, suppose
that lover had been standing on the opposite side I mean I am giving a deliberate twist in interpretation
to this story. Suppose he had stood there waiting until the flood subsided? Then he found the water was
muddy because it was a flooding river. He waited till the water was clear. Then he tested it to make
sure that there was no contamination. Then he crossed it. What would have happened? So for devoted,
loving souls who use these excuses to not come near, I

The Franchise Owners
This proves the point that the franchise(s) must constantly be aware of what is happening within its
territory. The next case, which is also still going through the system, concerns itself with the supposed
abuse of four franchise owners by 7 Eleven s main office. The four franchise owners are Indians who
felt that they were being labeled incorrectly. When they had informed the main office of their supposed
mistake, 7 Eleven had labeled them as Independent Contractors based on the degree of control SEI
exercised over store operations, including regulation of vendors and product supply, franchise payroll
processing, control over franchising, bookkeeping and accounting, and alleged intense daily oversight
by SEI market and zone managers. Aside from the title argument, everything which the four defendants
mentioned in their legal document is actually what was presented to them prior to their signing of the
franchise agreement. Franchises are in the business to create a profit by letting other people help in the
process of that particular profit making. All of the rules and regulations are presented to the individual
or individuals before they have to sign so they can see what they are getting into. Adhering to said
regulations and practices is somewhat easy because the franchise gives the beginners programs in
which every aspect of the business is explained, such as the accounting and bookkeeping methods that
said company uses. The last case that I will present

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Breaking A Lock
Long ago when I was a kid I always wondered what people kept in things that they locked, I always
imagined it would be something valuable, but I couldn t ever find out because they were locked. Well
as I grew older I decided I should put all my valuables in a safe place and lock it, the only problem is
that I had lost the key and I couldn t just break the lock. This is how I made my decision to learn how
to pick locks.
Most popular locks people use today are pin tumbler locks and are very easy to open using a pick and a
wrench. The pin tumbler is commonly used in cylinder locks. In this type of lock, an outer casing has a
cylindrical hole in which the plug is housed. To open the lock, the plug must rotate inside the hole.

You should be able to push them up and feel them spring back down when you release the pressure.
Try to push each one all the way up. Identify which one is the hardest to push up. If they re all very
easy to push up, turn the tension wrench more to increase the torque. If one won t go up at all, ease the
torque until you can push it up. Alternatively, you may wish to rake the pins before this step. I
occasionally use a tool that has a barely perceptible diamond on the tip, I then rake the lock a couple of
times to hopefully lift any high pins. remember that the maximum distance you will be moving a pin is
rarely more than 1/16 and may as little as .10 . Also, remember to adjust the tension if your pick is
bending and not manipulating, as you are usually binding the pins too much. Above all, remember to
keep track of where the shank of the tool is as well as the tip of the tool, since lifting adjacent pin
stacks with the shank accidentally is very common. Try to keep the shank parallel to the wards in the
lock, and well away from other pin stacks. Another common habit is compensating for the increased
bind by using the lifter like a pry bar, moving the operator end of the tool up and down, and levering
the pin with the tip, this is wrong, and will surely lift adjacent pin stacks. Always move the tool up and
down in a parallel motion keeping it perpendicular to the lock

Northern Mesopotamia And. Cahokia And Monte Alban
Small communities in southern Mesopotamia evolved to one of the earliest states due to environmental
changes that occurred between the Ubaid and Uruk periods. These environmental changes such as the
creation of Arabo Persian Gulf increased population in certain regions, which in turn increased
competition, warfare, and optimal settings for trade. All this lead to some of the earliest states being
formed in Southern Mesopotamia.
Cahokia and Monte Alban are two examples of primary states that were formed in Mesoamerica due to
their competition level. Monte Alban used strategic warfare tactics to get control over regions that were
rich in resources in order to do create a sustainable state. On the other hand because of Cahokia s lack
of control over distant regions, their state destructed in a very short time period, concluding that
competition was the main reason for early state formation.
In the later years of Northern Mesopotamia civilization, the climate changed dramatically causing the
collapse of several states in the region. Volcano eruptions, increased degree of dryness, and other
changes in the climate destroyed the agriculture in the area causing people to relocate to other states.
This article solidifies the view that environmental changes are the only reason states formed in certain
regions in the first place.

Abstract The discovery of free fetal DNA circulating in maternal blood during pregnancy
revolutionized noninvasive prenatal diagnosis. Advancements in prenatal diagnosis in the past decade
have enabled clinicians to accurately diagnose genetic abnormalities in the fetus earlier and without

Assessing The Damage Of Mountain Pine Beetle Infestation
Introduction
The objective of this study is to utilize Local indicator of spatial association (LISA), in particular the
bivariate local Moran s I, as a procedure for evaluating the damage of mountain pine beetle infestation
over vast lodgepole pine forest with GIS and coarse scale multi temporal Aerial overview survey
(AOS) data. The authors point out beetle infestation results in commercial timber loss, increase fire
risk, habitat loss. They also point out, a growing concern of spreading beyond its historical range. And
traditional mitigation methods have been expensive and time consuming. Therefore this study sets out
to help forest managers address beetle infestation epidemics in a cost effective and timelier manner
using Moran s I risk analysis model.
The study site was located in British Columbia, Canada. The site was selected base on its abundance of
lodgepole pine; a favoured tree of the mountain pine beetle. The area covered approximately 30 million
hectares of the province 95 million hectare land mass. The pine distribution data collected from the
AOS which was 1 km resolution raster cells where each cell is represented by the estimated percentage
of pine at the location from the years 2002 to 2006. The method was carried out in three parts (i.e.
organising data, predicting risk classes, risk rating evaluation). Firstly, the authors prepared the data in
ArcGIS where they overlaid AOS data onto basemaps then classified the data into risk severity

Consumer buying behavior is complex and unpredictable. E tailers like CanGo work hard to build their
technology around that behavior, adapting it to the informational and emotional needs of consumers as
they make their purchase decisions. However, as Andrew and his team realized, even the most up to
date e tailing technology can t always keep up with the shifts in consumer behavior. Marketers must
continually revisit the consumer buying process, refresh their understanding of it, and use their ever
evolving insights to craft messages that appeal to consumers developing needs. An opportunity that
CanGo can use to ensure that their customers purchase from them online is by establishing an online
brand.
Establishing online brand recognition is as important as providing good service. Any product purchase
involves a certain level of risk (Murphy and Enis 1986). Online purchase is even more so when e
tailers can potentially be fly by night opportunists, misuse customer information, or violate customer
privacy. Therefore, many e tailers try to differentiate themselves by building a strong brand recognition
and customer loyalty through advertising. For example, Amazon.com is one of the most well known
brands in the e tailing industry. According to van Gelder (2003), brand recognition is far more than

The Eu And The European Union
Introduction
Formed from 28 Member States, the EU has developed an internal single market which enabled it to
control what happens in the Member States. The context in which the EU has developed has caused it
to be unique in comparison to all the others and through this essay I will demonstrate how the
characteristics and functions of the EU are found to be those only associated with the EU.
Creating EU Law
The European Union has aims which are to promote peace, maintain its values and maintain the
wellbeing of the people. Even though there are other organisations which also aim to do this, the EU is
unique as it has to balance the national interest, common interest of the EU, democratic representation
and also geographical representation. The EU has executive bodies which enable it to make decisions
throughout the process: the Commission, Council of Ministers and the European Parliament.
The Commission is the only institution inside the EU which has the power to draft new legislation. It
has the power to legislate in many areas across Europe, however there must be an establishment of
competence in order for the EU to rightfully legislate in a certain area. Article 2 of the TFEU outlines
whether it is the EU or the Member State which has the right to legislate in a certain area and therefore
the extent of the competence that the EU has. The Commission can either have exclusive (it is given
full power to legislate), shared (where the Member State can legislate as long as

The World of ADHD Children Essay
Throughout the United States Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, has become a
common diagnosis among children and adolescents. Any hyper, out of control child in the classroom
may be perceived as having ADHD and many more are being medicated for this disorder each day.
Some people even wonder if ADHD has been created by society to preserve a natural order and
compliance. Aside from parents, teachers are good resources for observing ADHD traits in children
that they teach on a daily basis. Kids go through bouts of hyperactivity and disobedience in school, but
at a certain point this behavior may distract other students away from learning. Teachers should be
counseled on how to interact with and teach an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to diagnose a child with ADHD, the child must exhibit at least 6 core symptoms and these
symptoms must cause some impairments in at least 2 setting (such as home and school), although
severe impairment in one setting may suffice (Parens and Johnston). Core symptoms of ADHD are
broken up into two categories: impulse hyperactivity and inattention. Impulse hyperactivity symptoms
include fidgeting, not staying in their seat, blurting out words, and impatience. Inattentive symptoms
include frequent careless mistakes, difficulty paying attention in activities, and not listening when
being directly spoken to. Diagnosis can occur all throughout school years but most hyperactive
children are referred for assessment in the first three grades of school (Weiss and Hechtman). Along
with the diagnosis of ADHD, certain other conditions may be diagnosed at the same time. These are
called co morbid conditions and are often found to correlate with attention deficit. Depression and
epilepsy are two of these conditions, although not everyone with ADHD will have them. Also, before a
valid diagnosis of ADHD is made other medical conditions must be ruled out. Some of these disorders
are hypothyroidism, child abuse, chronic illness, and substance abuse. Any of these problems can share
signs and symptoms of attention deficit disorder; therefore, they must not exist in the patient. Once a

Current Issues Regarding Premarital Cohabitation Essay
Current societal trends allow for more flexibility in establishing, building, and maintaining a
relationship with another individual. Decades ago it was not acceptable for a couple to have sex or live
together before they were married. Today, it is common for couples to reside together, even before they
are engaged. The rise of couples who cohabitate prior to marriage has altered the way our society
perceives marriage and relationships and led to a reformulation of the dating process. Prior to the 1960
s it was seen as untoward for couples to have live together if they were not married. The Civil Rights
Movement 1960 s and early 1970 s altered different aspects of society and how women are viewed.

156).
Despite the steady increase in cohabitation across the last several decades, research on its impact on
marital outcome is mixed. Some research has suggested that people who cohabitate long term and do
not plan to marry have lower relationship quality and less stable relationships. However, other research
has indicated that these couples do not have lower quality relationships (Jose, O Leary, Moyer, 2010, p.
105).
Couples who choose to cohabitate are comprised of varying demographic variables that may be a factor
in their decision to cohabitate. White women are more likely to cohabitate than black or Hispanic
women and white and black men are more likely to cohabitate than Hispanic men (Casper Bianchi,
2001, p. 155). Premarital cohabitation is associated with marital disruption in non Hispanic white
women, but not non Hispanic black of Mexican women. However, little of this disruption appears to be
attributed to differences in cohabitation (Phillips Sweeney, 2005, p. 297). Black and white couples had
equivalent in their expectations for marriage; however, black couples were less likely to realize their
expectations when cohabitating (Guzzo, 2009, p. 184). Although cohabitation may be viewed as
something that primarily occurs between young adults, a high proportion of couples who cohabitate are
in their mid thirties or older (Casper Bianchi, 2001, p. 157).

Comparing Pygmalion And The Makeover
The play Pygmalion was a marvelous story, however the remodeling of its plot was formed in the
movie The Makeover. Pygmalion was surrounded with social class, proper English and of course, an
experiment to design a lady. No less was expected when the classic movie came out in 2013. However,
some modifications had taken place and it was soon discovered that the two like stories proved to carry
differences, as noticed within the beginning moments of the film. To begin, the character s last names
are mirrored from the book to the movie. This would be Higgins, Pickering, and Doolittle. However
their first names are different. For example, in the play, Higgins s first name is Henry, whereas it is
Hannah in the film. Last names aren t the only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

proclaims he voted for her opponent in the election. Not only do the beginnings start differently but
they also end in opposite ways. In the play, Eliza Doolittle feels as though she was being used for an
experiment and develops a hatred towards Henry Higgins. They get into an argument and it doesn t end
on good terms. It isn t too long after this argument that Freddy sees Eliza and proposes to her. She
accepts his offer and then informs Higgins on the news of the engagement. The play ends with her
being engaged to Freddy. The film portrays a very different ending. The Characters still have the same
argument though. Elliot overhears Hannah talking about the experiment and feels as if he was being

two characters didn t speak for a while after the argument, until Hannah finally decides to visit Elliot.

Snowflakes Short Story
The story about the snowflakes started with a god named Iris. She was a queen in a big kingdom with
her husband named King Jesus. He had the powers of the sun or the heat. Their story started when they
were small. Their parents did not want them to get married or have any relation, because both of them
are really different, and if they close to each other they could hurt each other. The years were passing,
and they were growing, but they did not care about their powers, because what matter is their love.
Until they finally got married without telling their parents. Iris and Jesus had their differences, because
Iris was a princess, and Jesus was a simple person, but their parents took him with a god so he could
survive from a disease that he had when he was small. The god gave him the power of heat, or the sun.
Jesus one day he saw the princess, and it was like love in an instant. That s how they know each other.
When they got married, they had a baby girl, and her name Adriana.
The years past and Adriana was growing, but King Jesus was dying. When the god gave him the power
of heat, or sun, he said that he life was going to be long, but if he had a baby boy, not a baby girl. So
Adriana was growing, but at the same time she was sad, because her father was dying whenever she
was growing, so every year that she would grow, the king would get sicker and he was dying little by
little. Adriana did not like the fact that he was dying, so she told her father to give her the powers so he
can t suffer no more. The king Jesus refuse to, Adriana got mad, and started crying and she said, father
please give me your powers, because I don t want you to suffer, because of my fault. You could ve
lived more thousands of years if I was born like a boy, but I don t know why I am a girl. The king
started crying and he said, it s not your fault my princess, this is something that had to happen, but you
never know when is going to happen. At that same time she told her father to give her the powers to
her, so the powers won t be just stay with her father, butif the father gave her the powers the princess

U.s. Foreign Policy Up
Imperialism Questions Describe US foreign policy up until 1890. What key events took place in US I
in regards to expansion. Summarize them. In the 1800s, there were many disputes over land borders
involving Canada, Britain, and Mexico. The Aroostook War was a border dispute between Canada and
Maine that was settled by the Webster Ashburton Treaty in 1842; both sides gained some concessions.
There was a border dispute with Britain in the Oregon Territory. In 1846, America and Britain agreed
on the 49 parallel as the boundary. Furthermore, the Guadalupe Hidalgo, a treaty as a result of the
Mexican American War, gave America Texas and parts of Mexico. The Monroe Doctrine stated that
America was not to be colonized. It also warned other nations not to intervene in the Americas.
Americans did not treat the Native Americans very well. They constantly battled with them over land.
The Indian Removal Act of 1830 authorized the president to purchase tribe lands in the East in
exchange for Western lands. There were also many brutal battles such as the Battle of Tippecanoe;
most of these ended in a victory for the whites. Americans also expanded to find or create economic
opportunities. In the California Gold Rush, people rushed to California to find gold and get rich. Also,
in Gadsden Purchase, the government purchased Mexican land in order to build a transcontinental
railroad. The Treaty of Wingra of 1844 was an agreement between China and U.S. in which America

Carbon Dioxide And The Rate Of Photosynthesis
Abstract Photosynthesis is directly affected by specific factors such as the level of carbon dioxide and
the amount of light. In this study, we try to prove whether or not there is a significant statistical
difference between the level of carbon dioxide and the rate of photosynthesis. To do this we
investigated an aquatic plant, Elodea. A test was conducted to study the rate of photosynthesis which in
this case was by observation of the number of gas bubbles produced when the plant was placed in
different concentration of NaCHO3. The data obtained was used to calculate and plot standard
deviation graphs for each test. By observing error graphs, it was evident that the P value obtained was
lower than the significant value of 0.05%, resulting in the rejection of the hypothesis.
Introduction
Photosynthesis is an essential process for plants to prevent enthalpy, maintain metabolism and sustain
to its environment. Photosynthesis allows plants to convert carbon dioxide to organic molecules using
light as a source of energy. The key elements that are required for the process of photosynthesis are
carbon dioxide, water, and light. All the components needed for photosynthesis are used in small
quantities as they have adverse effects on the plant, for example, if there is too much carbon dioxide,
the spores of the plant reduce in size thus affecting respiration and evaporating (Carnegie Institution,
2010).
The objective of this study is to prove the relationship between carbon

How Important Was The Privy Council
How important was the Privy Council
It could be argued that the monarch was an important member of government however some may
disagree and put forward the idea that the Privy Council was more important. This is for several
reasons the first reason (for the monarch) was the fact that she could decide who could become a
member of the Privy Council this is because it meant that she had total power over those who that
would help run the country. However this did not mean that the monarch was the most important figure
as it could be argued that the monarch did in fact have a Back Seat with regards to running the country

portion of running the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that the P.C was not in fact as important as they needed the local governments in order to enforce

Protein And Carbohydrates Essay
Protein and carbohydrates are both macronutrients required for health reasons. But which one of these
macronutrients before a run affects running performance more favorably? Most people recognize
protein as something that helps build stronger muscles. But is that the only thing that protein helps
with? Carbohydrates which are also called sugar is stored as glycogen in the muscles and comes from
healthy (fruit) and unhealthy (candy) places. Researchers were curious to know, what macro nutrient
has a more favorable effect on running, protein or carbohydrate (sugar)? People can improve their
running by improving their diet. Sugar is a carbohydrate. When runners eat sugar the sugar is turned
into glucose in our blood. Then it is stored into the muscles which are called glycogen. Glycogen gives
people the energy to run for a longer amount of time. Sugar is energy. Runners mostly eat natural sugar
like fruits because of the vitamins and minerals and not processed sugar like candy and junk food
which can cause diseases like diabetes. Glycogen can be stored through a runner s liver as well, ...

humans and give them energy, than having candy or junk food that will potentially hurt the stomach.
The great thing about protein is that not only does it help humans lose weight, but it is a backup for
sugar. What this researcher means is that when runners run out of energy in their muscles, then protein
will give the muscles energy. Protein is used to help the muscles heal faster after running. The runners
will drink a protein shake after their run to help their muscles heal from the soreness from their
marathon or the run they took. Protein also helps runners/people receive stronger or better muscles in

Conflict Management Styles At The Individual And Little...
Numerous questions remain unasked and unanswered: Is there any confirmation that conflict cultures
exist at the authoritative level? How do such unmistakable conflict cultures create? How do leaders
shape the advancement of conflict cultures? What are the results of conflict cultures for authoritative
level results? Answers to these inquiries can t be found in the psychological literature on conflict,
which has for the most part centered around conflict management styles at the individual and little
gathering level. In this paper, we begin with the reason that despite the fact that people have particular
inclinations for distinctive conflict management methodologies, associations give solid settings (Johns,
2006; O Reilly and Chatman, 1996) that serve to characterize socially shared and regularizing
approaches to oversee struggle what we allude to as conflict cultures which decrease singular variety in
conflict managing strategies(De Dreu, van Dierendonck, and Dijkstra, 2004; Gelfand, Leslie, and
Keller, 2008). Since standards regularly create around major issues that should be overseen in any
social framework (Schein, 1992; Schwartz, 1994), and conflict is a characteristic issue in most if not
every authoritative framework (Argyris, 1971), we expect that conflict cultures can create in numerous
associations. We suggest that conflict cultures, similar to their individual level and little gathering
analogs (De Church and Marks, 2001), take the type of avoidant, commanding,

wrong decisions while it was facing the opportunity, so it declined year by year. When Nokia missed
the best time for transformation, its day had gone even though it had some right moves. Therefore,
Nokia has been becoming a negative example for other firms.
What are good decisions and bad decisions? Good decisions will lead to good outcomes (Spetzler,
2016). In contrast, bad decisions will cause bad outcomes. Therefore, decision making is important for
a company as they will generally affect the result of the company. In other words, the company can
either profit or loss depend on what kind of decisions are made.
Nokia made some bad decisions, so it reached a bad outcome. In order to find the biggest factor in
Nokia s downfall, the paper will firstly show what mistakes Nokia made caused the result and then
compare which one was the worst decision. Even though Nokia s mistakes have been compared yet,

Understanding The Piezoelectric Behavior Of Ferro-Electrics
Ferro electrics are an important class of materials which posses excellent electro mechanical coupling
behavior cite{jayendiran2012modeling}. These materials have been used in sensors, actuators,
biomedical and naval applications for several years. These materials behave linearly under low electric
fields and mechanical stresses, but show nonlinearity at higher electric fields and mechanical stresses;
see the review articles cite{kamlah2001ferroelectric,landis2004non,huber2005micromechanical}.
Several experiments have been conducted and reported in the literature to understand the nonlinear
behavior of piezoelectric materials
cite{cao1993nonlinear,lynch1996effect,lente2002domain,davis2006temperature,zhukov2010experimental}.

$1 3$ piezo composites with piezoelectric rods (one dimension) embedded in a passive polymer matrix
(three dimension) are attractive due to their tunable acoustic impedance and excellent tailor made
electromechanical properties cite{topolov2008electromechanical}. Since the matrix materials are
viscoelastic in nature, the influence of matrix in the overall electro mechanical response of piezo
composites have been reported cite{aboudi2005hysteresis, muliana2010micromechanical,
shindo2010nonlinear}. Studies related to the influence of polymer matrix on the electro mechanical
response of piezo composites have been performed cite{jayendiran2012modeling,
aboudi2005hysteresis, odegard2004constitutive}. A two level thermodynamic based micromechanics
theory for domain switching in $1 3$ piezo composites have been proposed to predict the orientation
dependency of the electro mechanical coupling behavior of the composite system
cite{zhao2009investigation}. Literature review reveals that $1 3$ type composites are good
alternatives for bulk PZT ceramics. Hence, it is necessary to understand the electro mechanical
behavior of different fiber volume fractions cite{jayendiran2012modeling}. Incorporation of a more
ductile epoxy matrix causes considerable creep in the system under constant electric fields and
mechanical stresses.

Rifled Musket Research Paper
Rifled Musket Componenet Overview During the Civil War, rifled muskets were all the rage. The
Rifled Musket was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1858. These new type of muskets had grooves inside
of the barrel, meaning that if this gun was partnered with the Minié ball, it would increase both the
range and the accuracy of the bullet. The smooth bore musket (the previous generation of muskets) did
not have grooves in the barrel. This means that the bullet is not spinning as it exits and there is a
margin of error depending where the bullet exits. This severely reduces the accuracy of a smooth bore
musket. The farther the bullet goes, the more off target it travels because of the aforementioned margin
of error. The Minié ball had grooves and had

Alprazolam Xanax Research Paper
Alprazolam or Xanax is a medication, an anxiolytic (anti anxiety agent), a medium term
benzodiazepine derivative that is used to treat panic disorders, anxiety neuroses such as anxiety
disorder or social phobia. Alprazolam is close to triazolam by its chemical structure, differs from the
absence of the Cl atom at phenyl at position. Alprazolam has less pronounced hypnotic effect. It is used
mainly for short term withdrawal of feelings of anxiety and fear. The first compounds of the
triazolobenzodiazepine structure were synthesized at the end of the 1960s by a team of specialists from
the USA, but it was 10 years before the tranquilizers appeared in the triadolobenzodiazepine group.
Alprazolam (Xanax), which has been on sale since 1981, is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The efficacy and safety of the drug in patients under the age of 18 years is not established. With renal /
hepatic insufficiency and long term treatment, control over the picture of peripheral blood and liver
enzymes is necessary. Patients who did not take previously psychoactive drugs respond to the drug at
lower doses compared to patients taking antidepressants, anxiolytics or alcohol. With endogenous
depression, alprazolam can be used in combination with antidepressants. With the use of alprazolam,
patients with depression have seen cases of hypomanic and manic development. Like other
benzodiazepines, alprazolam has the ability to induce drug dependence in long term admission in large
doses (more than 4 mg / day). With a sudden discontinuation of alprazolam, there may be comeback
syndromes, such as depression, irritability, insomnia, increased sweating, especially with prolonged
admission (more than 8 12 weeks). When patients develop such unusual reactions as increased
aggressiveness, acute excitations, feelings of fear, thoughts of suicide, hallucinations, increased muscle
cramps, difficult sleep, superficial sleep, treatment should be discontinued. During pregnancy Xanax is
very dangerous due to its toxic effect on the fetus and increases the risk of congenital malformations
when applied in the first trimester of pregnancy. Admission of therapeutic doses in later periods

The Movie Straight Outta Compton Directed By F. Gary Gray
Stats show that 80% civilians who were shot but not fatally injured and 78% of those killed were
minorities (Where is Social work). Reading these stats, one would think that these stats are from today
s world. However, that quote was from an article published in 1981; showing that America has not
changed for the better for minorities. In the film Straight Outta Compton, directed by F. Gary Gray is a
biopic film about the rise to fame and demise of the highly controversial hip hop group N.W.A (Niggaz
Wit Attitudes). Depicting the lives of its members, Straight Outta Compton address the issues that were
facing America during that period of time; most of them racial issues. The film addresses issues such as
Capitalism in terms of the group s manager Jerry Heller and the Recording Company s representative.
The film also briefly touches upon the misogyny in the hip hop industry and the treatment of women
while omitting some scenes. And finally, the biggest issue facing America at the time and currently,
Police brutality. The film shows the audiences how the group was treated because of their skin color
and their financial/living situation. For these reasons, the film Straight Outta Compton offers a
commentary on the racial issues facing America through the accounts of the group N.W.A on issues
such as capitalism, Police Brutality, and Gender in the film.
Capitalism, economic system where the central topics include private property, accumulation and wage
labour. In this film,

  • 2. Ohio V. United States in Violations from the Constitution Both the fourth and fifth amendment protect the privacies of individuals from governmental intrusion. Appellant Boyd complained that she was denied her constitutional right to testify. The right to testify comes from many amendments and clauses in the constitution such as the due process clauses, the Fifth, and Fourteenth amendment. The court held that the search for and seizure of evidence within an accused s possession might well result in compelling the accused to be a witness against himself. Then, the court reasoned that the search was unreasonable ab initio and it makes it a violation of the fourth amendment. Justice Black mentioned in his concurrence that if something is obtained illegally, it cannot be used again the appellant. The Boyd s case was not the only case mentioned in the Mapp v. Ohio opinion. Additionally, Weeks v. United States (1914) was a case that determined the warrantless seizure of items from an individual is a violation of the Fourth Amendment. The police seized a few papers from Freemont Weeks s home and he was charged with transporting lottery tickets through the mail. These papers were taken from his home without a warrant. Weeks asked that his papers be returned to him. This case is another example of the violation of the fourth amendment. The opinion giving in this case agreed that the constitution protects the rights of the citizens unless someone committed a crime. Therefore, the government has the permission to restrict someone s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Act 1 And 2 Of The Play Macbeth In acts 1 and 2 of the play Macbeth by Shakespeare, the characters Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are presented to the audience through soliloquies and dialogue between the two. Macbeth is presented as brave, ambitious and guilty in Acts 1 and 2 of the play through the way others describe him, what he says and how he internally feels, and Lady Macbeth is presented as being determined and driven. In Acts 1 and 2, Shakespeare presents Macbeth as brave by the way that others describe him. Before the entrance of Macbeth onto the stage, the audience learns how brave Macbeth has just been on the battlefield in honour of his king. He is called brave Macbeth because he deserves that name , we learn about his valiant character by the ways that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is Duncan s kinsman and his subject , he reminds himself that what he is doing is wrong and that he has the duty to protect the king, not murder him. In an interaction with Lady Macbeth prior to the murder of Duncan, he says they shall proceed no longer in this business , this shows that he has a moral compass, and he knows that what he is about to do is wrong. Also, previous to the murder he hallucinates a dagger , it is a figment of his imagination because he is very anxious, and is already feeling culpability. This part in the play is key in showing that Macbeth is consumed by guilt and anxiety, so is not in the best mindset to commit a murder. Despite this, he still kills Duncan. His guilt returns after the murder when an Amen [is] stuck in his throat, he knows that he has sinned against God, and he is too anxious to say Amen. Immediately after killing Duncan he is afraid to think of what [he has] done , he has immense regret and feels a lot of guilt. In Acts 1 and 2, Lady Macbeth is presented as being determined and driven, for example in her first entrance, when she shows her quick decisiveness upon reading Macbeth s letter. The letter tells of how Macbeth could be King, and Lady Macbeth, who comes to the conclusion instantly that that is what must happen, then goes on to highlight the problems of this in her first soliloquy, in which she says: Yet do I fear thy nature, it is too full o th milk of human ... The meaning of liturgy may not be debatable but how that definition functions becomes contestable as it is performed in different settings. Thus, when interpreting a liturgical theology, it would figure, that the same notion would apply. Joyce Zimmerman writes, ...Who interprets liturgy? Is the realization that the practice of liturgy involves a number of competencies at a number of levels. Liturgy by its nature is not static there by constitutes a multileveled evaluation and approach when interpreting. There are no set parameters or guidelines that designate the functional aspects of the liturgy. Liturgy has the potential to take on any form it desires in order to accomplish the objective of moving people to discourse. Liturgy has this Michael Jackson appeal. It has the ability to conform to certain parameters when needed but always functioning within itself to meet its on transcendent perspective. Only 300 miles away lies the capital city of Kinshasa, where 5 million people awaited the virus. Luckily, the outbreak burned itself out after killing 245 in Kikwit last May, 1995 (Contreras 49). Of those who died, three Red Cross volunteers and four nuns fell victim to the evil virus as a result of the unsanitary medical conditions (49). It is very important for people to realize why these deadly viruses keep evolving and reappearing. Deforestation, climatic changes, and road building are just a few of the many man made changes which can affect the normal state of things. Suddenly, people become exposed to unknown diseases and viruses (Brownlee 61). It seems that as soon as medical experts cure a virus or clean up an outbreak, another one quickly appears. Legionnaires disease, Lyme s disease, and hantavirus are just a few examples of often deadly diseases scientists are being forced to fight (Caldwell 16). When trying to detect what type of virus is attacking an organism, appearance is the most important element. The Ebola virus looks like a thread with a loop at one end, sometimes in the shape of the number six (6) (Guntheroth 36). I was one of the people that thought this on that particular New Years. 2015 hadn t been the greatest year of my life, so that meant 2016 would have to be better. As much as I wanted that and wished it were true, it wasn t at all. On New Year s Day 2016, my grandpa was admitted into the hospital, and the months following were a roller coaster of highs and lows that made 2016 an unforgettable year for many not so great reasons. During the summer of 2015, my Grandpa Mert was diagnosed with prostate cancer. This particular type of cancer is usually very treatable and is something you just live with, so it didn t worry our family too much. Toward the end of the year, however, things started changing. On New Years Day, my grandpa was admitted to the hospital for the flu, and the flu turned into pneumonia, and we found out later it was all because of his cancer. He had tried one round of chemotherapy, but the treatment made his body so weak that it couldn t fight off other viruses, like the flu and pneumonia. She created a unique art form by crafting multi media spectacles out of fabric, motion and light. In Fuller s autobiography, she talks about how the glass of the rose windows in the great cathedral had rays of sunlight that came on into the church in different directions, and made it very colorful. I think this is a moment that inspired her. It was something that caught her attention, and she just couldn t simply take her mind from it. This was something that encouraged her to keep digging into the things lights and colors can do in dance. In one of her videos, it shows her twirling her dress in many different ways while her dress is also changing colors. This was very unexpected for me. It was different and it made me think about the things she had to do to make this idea into a creation. I was also able to see how the lights reflecting in the church inspired her because the color of her dress kept changing as she twirled so smoothly. It was very settle and something you wouldn t usually notice right away like the lights in the church. In the reading, she states, What is the dance? It is motion. What is motion? The expression of a sensation. What is a sensation? The reaction in the human body produced by an impression or an idea perceived by the mind. He did not know what to do and then he found something like a log of wood. He took that log of wood and went across the river; and then he found a light burning in the house on the first floor. The next case, which is also still going through the system, concerns itself with the supposed abuse of four franchise owners by 7 Eleven s main office. The four franchise owners are Indians who felt that they were being labeled incorrectly. When they had informed the main office of their supposed mistake, 7 Eleven had labeled them as Independent Contractors based on the degree of control SEI exercised over store operations, including regulation of vendors and product supply, franchise payroll processing, control over franchising, bookkeeping and accounting, and alleged intense daily oversight by SEI market and zone managers. Aside from the title argument, everything which the four defendants mentioned in their legal document is actually what was presented to them prior to their signing of the franchise agreement. Franchises are in the business to create a profit by letting other people help in the process of that particular profit making. All of the rules and regulations are presented to the individual or individuals before they have to sign so they can see what they are getting into. Also, remember to adjust the tension if your pick is bending and not manipulating, as you are usually binding the pins too much. Above all, remember to keep track of where the shank of the tool is as well as the tip of the tool, since lifting adjacent pin stacks with the shank accidentally is very common. Try to keep the shank parallel to the wards in the lock, and well away from other pin stacks. Another common habit is compensating for the increased bind by using the lifter like a pry bar, moving the operator end of the tool up and down, and levering the pin with the tip, this is wrong, and will surely lift adjacent pin stacks. • 16. Northern Mesopotamia And. Cahokia And Monte Alban Small communities in southern Mesopotamia evolved to one of the earliest states due to environmental changes that occurred between the Ubaid and Uruk periods. These environmental changes such as the creation of Arabo Persian Gulf increased population in certain regions, which in turn increased competition, warfare, and optimal settings for trade. All this lead to some of the earliest states being formed in Southern Mesopotamia. Cahokia and Monte Alban are two examples of primary states that were formed in Mesoamerica due to their competition level. Monte Alban used strategic warfare tactics to get control over regions that were rich in resources in order to do create a sustainable state. On the other hand because of Cahokia s lack of control over distant regions, their state destructed in a very short time period, concluding that competition was the main reason for early state formation. In the later years of Northern Mesopotamia civilization, the climate changed dramatically causing the collapse of several states in the region. Volcano eruptions, increased degree of dryness, and other changes in the climate destroyed the agriculture in the area causing people to relocate to other states. An opportunity that CanGo can use to ensure that their customers purchase from them online is by establishing an online brand. Establishing online brand recognition is as important as providing good service. Any product purchase involves a certain level of risk (Murphy and Enis 1986). Online purchase is even more so when e tailers can potentially be fly by night opportunists, misuse customer information, or violate customer privacy. Therefore, many e tailers try to differentiate themselves by building a strong brand recognition and customer loyalty through advertising. The context in which the EU has developed has caused it to be unique in comparison to all the others and through this essay I will demonstrate how the characteristics and functions of the EU are found to be those only associated with the EU. Creating EU Law The European Union has aims which are to promote peace, maintain its values and maintain the wellbeing of the people. Even though there are other organisations which also aim to do this, the EU is unique as it has to balance the national interest, common interest of the EU, democratic representation and also geographical representation. The EU has executive bodies which enable it to make decisions throughout the process: the Commission, Council of Ministers and the European Parliament. The Commission is the only institution inside the EU which has the power to draft new legislation. It has the power to legislate in many areas across Europe, however there must be an establishment of competence in order for the EU to rightfully legislate in a certain area. Article 2 of the TFEU outlines whether it is the EU or the Member State which has the right to legislate in a certain area and therefore the extent of the competence that the EU has. The Commission can either have exclusive (it is given full power to legislate), shared (where the Member State can legislate as long as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to diagnose a child with ADHD, the child must exhibit at least 6 core symptoms and these symptoms must cause some impairments in at least 2 setting (such as home and school), although severe impairment in one setting may suffice (Parens and Johnston). Core symptoms of ADHD are broken up into two categories: impulse hyperactivity and inattention. Impulse hyperactivity symptoms include fidgeting, not staying in their seat, blurting out words, and impatience. Inattentive symptoms include frequent careless mistakes, difficulty paying attention in activities, and not listening when being directly spoken to. Diagnosis can occur all throughout school years but most hyperactive children are referred for assessment in the first three grades of school (Weiss and Hechtman). Along with the diagnosis of ADHD, certain other conditions may be diagnosed at the same time. These are called co morbid conditions and are often found to correlate with attention deficit. Depression and epilepsy are two of these conditions, although not everyone with ADHD will have them. Also, before a valid diagnosis of ADHD is made other medical conditions must be ruled out. Some of these disorders are hypothyroidism, child abuse, chronic illness, and substance abuse. The rise of couples who cohabitate prior to marriage has altered the way our society perceives marriage and relationships and led to a reformulation of the dating process. Despite the steady increase in cohabitation across the last several decades, research on its impact on marital outcome is mixed. Some research has suggested that people who cohabitate long term and do not plan to marry have lower relationship quality and less stable relationships. However, other research has indicated that these couples do not have lower quality relationships (Jose, O Leary, Moyer, 2010, p. 105). Couples who choose to cohabitate are comprised of varying demographic variables that may be a factor in their decision to cohabitate. White women are more likely to cohabitate than black or Hispanic women and white and black men are more likely to cohabitate than Hispanic men (Casper Bianchi, 2001, p. 155). Premarital cohabitation is associated with marital disruption in non Hispanic white women, but not non Hispanic black of Mexican women. However, little of this disruption appears to be attributed to differences in cohabitation (Phillips Sweeney, 2005, p. 297). Black and white couples had equivalent in their expectations for marriage; however, black couples were less likely to realize their expectations when cohabitating (Guzzo, 2009, p. 184). In the 1800s, there were many disputes over land borders involving Canada, Britain, and Mexico. The Aroostook War was a border dispute between Canada and Maine that was settled by the Webster Ashburton Treaty in 1842; both sides gained some concessions. There was a border dispute with Britain in the Oregon Territory. In 1846, America and Britain agreed on the 49 parallel as the boundary. • 33. Carbon Dioxide And The Rate Of Photosynthesis Abstract Photosynthesis is directly affected by specific factors such as the level of carbon dioxide and the amount of light. In this study, we try to prove whether or not there is a significant statistical difference between the level of carbon dioxide and the rate of photosynthesis. To do this we investigated an aquatic plant, Elodea. A test was conducted to study the rate of photosynthesis which in this case was by observation of the number of gas bubbles produced when the plant was placed in different concentration of NaCHO3. The data obtained was used to calculate and plot standard deviation graphs for each test. By observing error graphs, it was evident that the P value obtained was lower than the significant value of 0.05%, resulting in the rejection of the hypothesis. Introduction Photosynthesis is an essential process for plants to prevent enthalpy, maintain metabolism and sustain to its environment. Photosynthesis allows plants to convert carbon dioxide to organic molecules using light as a source of energy. The key elements that are required for the process of photosynthesis are carbon dioxide, water, and light. All the components needed for photosynthesis are used in small quantities as they have adverse effects on the plant, for example, if there is too much carbon dioxide, the spores of the plant reduce in size thus affecting respiration and evaporating (Carnegie Institution, 2010). How do such unmistakable conflict cultures create? How do leaders shape the advancement of conflict cultures? What are the results of conflict cultures for authoritative level results? Answers to these inquiries can t be found in the psychological literature on conflict, which has for the most part centered around conflict management styles at the individual and little gathering level. In this paper, we begin with the reason that despite the fact that people have particular inclinations for distinctive conflict management methodologies, associations give solid settings (Johns, 2006; O Reilly and Chatman, 1996) that serve to characterize socially shared and regularizing approaches to oversee struggle what we allude to as conflict cultures which decrease singular variety in conflict managing strategies(De Dreu, van Dierendonck, and Dijkstra, 2004; Gelfand, Leslie, and Keller, 2008). Since standards regularly create around major issues that should be overseen in any social framework (Schein, 1992; Schwartz, 1994), and conflict is a characteristic issue in most if not every authoritative framework (Argyris, 1971), we expect that conflict cultures can create in numerous associations. • 41. The Misstep Of Nokia Its Failure The Misstep of Nokia Which Led Its Failure Introduction Nokia is well known as a Finnish Corporation which makes quality phones, but at its beginning, it was just a pulp mill. According to Nokia Website (Our history, 2017), Few companies have Nokia s storied capacity for transforming, developing new technologies and adapting to shifts in market conditions. Indeed, Nokia had a successful transformation in business. Nokia was founded in 1865 by a Finnish engineer, Fredrik Idestam. As a pure mill, paper making was its main business. Then, it gradually expanded to the business of rubber, cable, power plant, and television (Our story, 2017). It mainly engages in electronic information technology, multinational communications, and consumer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to the underestimate of the smartphone business, Nokia started to lose its market share and then it failed in the competition of smartphones. After several years flounder, Nokia s mobile phone business was acquired by using 7.9 billion dollars by Microsoft in 2013. At that time, Nokia s market share fell to 2.8% (Pearce, 2016). Nokia taught a lesson which is opportunity knocks once, and the neighbors do the rest of the time. As a firm, right decisions should be made at the right time in order to catch the opportunity. Nokia made wrong decisions while it was facing the opportunity, so it declined year by year. When Nokia missed the best time for transformation, its day had gone even though it had some right moves. Therefore, Nokia has been becoming a negative example for other firms. What are good decisions and bad decisions? Good decisions will lead to good outcomes (Spetzler, 2016). In contrast, bad decisions will cause bad outcomes. Therefore, decision making is important for a company as they will generally affect the result of the company. In other words, the company can either profit or loss depend on what kind of decisions are made. Nokia made some bad decisions, so it reached a bad outcome. In order to find the biggest factor in Nokia s downfall, the paper will firstly show what mistakes Nokia made caused the result and then compare which one was the worst decision. Even though Nokia s mistakes have been compared yet, the vertical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Understanding The Piezoelectric Behavior Of Ferro-Electrics Ferro electrics are an important class of materials which posses excellent electro mechanical coupling behavior cite{jayendiran2012modeling}. These materials have been used in sensors, actuators, biomedical and naval applications for several years. These materials behave linearly under low electric fields and mechanical stresses, but show nonlinearity at higher electric fields and mechanical stresses; see the review articles cite{kamlah2001ferroelectric,landis2004non,huber2005micromechanical}. Several experiments have been conducted and reported in the literature to understand the nonlinear behavior of piezoelectric materials cite{cao1993nonlinear,lynch1996effect,lente2002domain,davis2006temperature,zhukov2010experimental}. ... A two level thermodynamic based micromechanics theory for domain switching in $1 3$ piezo composites have been proposed to predict the orientation dependency of the electro mechanical coupling behavior of the composite system cite{zhao2009investigation}. Literature review reveals that $1 3$ type composites are good alternatives for bulk PZT ceramics. Hence, it is necessary to understand the electro mechanical behavior of different fiber volume fractions cite{jayendiran2012modeling}. • 43. Rifled Musket Research Paper Rifled Musket Componenet Overview During the Civil War, rifled muskets were all the rage. The Rifled Musket was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1858. These new type of muskets had grooves inside of the barrel, meaning that if this gun was partnered with the Minié ball, it would increase both the range and the accuracy of the bullet. The smooth bore musket (the previous generation of muskets) did not have grooves in the barrel. This means that the bullet is not spinning as it exits and there is a margin of error depending where the bullet exits. This severely reduces the accuracy of a smooth bore musket. The farther the bullet goes, the more off target it travels because of the aforementioned margin of error. The Minié ball had grooves and had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Alprazolam Xanax Research Paper Alprazolam or Xanax is a medication, an anxiolytic (anti anxiety agent), a medium term benzodiazepine derivative that is used to treat panic disorders, anxiety neuroses such as anxiety disorder or social phobia. Alprazolam is close to triazolam by its chemical structure, differs from the absence of the Cl atom at phenyl at position. Alprazolam has less pronounced hypnotic effect. It is used mainly for short term withdrawal of feelings of anxiety and fear. The first compounds of the triazolobenzodiazepine structure were synthesized at the end of the 1960s by a team of specialists from the USA, but it was 10 years before the tranquilizers appeared in the triadolobenzodiazepine group. With renal / hepatic insufficiency and long term treatment, control over the picture of peripheral blood and liver enzymes is necessary. Patients who did not take previously psychoactive drugs respond to the drug at lower doses compared to patients taking antidepressants, anxiolytics or alcohol. With endogenous depression, alprazolam can be used in combination with antidepressants. With the use of alprazolam, patients with depression have seen cases of hypomanic and manic development. Like other benzodiazepines, alprazolam has the ability to induce drug dependence in long term admission in large doses (more than 4 mg / day). With a sudden discontinuation of alprazolam, there may be comeback syndromes, such as depression, irritability, insomnia, increased sweating, especially with prolonged admission (more than 8 12 weeks). When patients develop such unusual reactions as increased aggressiveness, acute excitations, feelings of fear, thoughts of suicide, hallucinations, increased muscle cramps, difficult sleep, superficial sleep, treatment should be discontinued. During pregnancy Xanax is very dangerous due to its toxic effect on the fetus and increases the risk of congenital malformations when applied in the first trimester of pregnancy. Reading these stats, one would think that these stats are from today s world. However, that quote was from an article published in 1981; showing that America has not changed for the better for minorities. In the film Straight Outta Compton, directed by F. Gary Gray is a biopic film about the rise to fame and demise of the highly controversial hip hop group N.W.A (Niggaz Wit Attitudes). Depicting the lives of its members, Straight Outta Compton address the issues that were facing America during that period of time; most of them racial issues. The film addresses issues such as Capitalism in terms of the group s manager Jerry Heller and the Recording Company s representative. The film also briefly touches upon the misogyny in the hip hop industry and the treatment of women while omitting some scenes. And finally, the biggest issue facing America at the time and currently, Police brutality. The film shows the audiences how the group was treated because of their skin color and their financial/living situation. For these reasons, the film Straight Outta Compton offers a commentary on the racial issues facing America through the accounts of the group N.W.A on issues such as capitalism, Police Brutality, and Gender in the film.
