Capital One 360 Business Report
Compare and Contrast Business Report
Dezurik Capital One 360
Operations and Supply Chain Management
November 12th, 2013
Executive Summary
Company Overview
From an operations management perspective, we compared and contrasted Capital One 360 to
Dezurik. We looked at many different aspects of both businesses in relation to various operational and
business elements. We conclude that both corporations have significant differences based on
manufacturing versus service operations. Dezurik is a pure manufacturing company, which was
founded in 1928, while Capital One 360 is a pure service company that was founded in 2013. Dezurik
designs and manufactures valves for use in commercial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be shown in their manufacturing process. Dezurik has some valves that they are mass
producing all of the time. They also are able to take on project builds for custom sizes and designs.
These are two different segments of Dezurik which require two different business strategies. The first
strategy that Dezurik has is to be continuously producing their standard size valves. This is a fairly
straight forward operations strategy. Keep up with the demand for the valves, and at the same time
maintain an efficient product assembly line. The second strategy has to do with their special product
order segment. They do this in several different ways. The first is to complete the projects in house,
which shares the same as the previous strategy. The second strategy is to have one of their teams build
and complete their projects on site. This typically happens when they work on a project with
components that are too big to build in house. The business strategy for Dezurik is much different.
They want to become the largest producer of valves in the world. They do this by outsourcing some of
their components to China, which brings down production costs. They also need to be certified to be
sold in other countries around the world. They are trying to expand internationally and build up
partnerships and relationships with governments and companies from around the world. In order to
keep these relationships intact, Dezurik has a full

Market Entry Modes
International market entry modes allow firms to enter foreign markets and can choose the most
appropriate entry mode for their industry. After analysing market drivers, demand and consumer
behaviour, Pharmaceutical firms may choose the most strategic mode of entry to enter a market. The
market entry mode is strategic and is regarded as a major factor in the Internationalisation process
(Morschett et al.,2015, p.323). As illustrated below, the International market entry model outlines that
Pharmaceutical firms may enter foreign markets through Exports/Imports, Subsidiaries,
Mergers/Acquisitions, Joint ventures, or Licensing.
Figure 2.4 An international market entry model for pharmaceutical companies. (Adapted from Javalgi
Wright,2003, p.277).
Joint Venture
A joint venture is characterised by the need to achieve a business transaction while remaining separate
from each other. Each firm maintains its resources and independence while engaging in an activity,
with the objective of achieving certain objectives. The need for joint ventures in the Pharmaceutical
industry may be characterised by the need to reduce high R D costs and by so doing, share costs
through common equity (Roijakkers Hagedoon,2005, p.8). Joint venture as a mode of market entry
may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In process licensing, a firm gives the licensee the right to use production processes. This type of
licensing may be common in the Pharmaceutical industry, regarding patented drugs/products. Product
licensing allows a firm to grant specific rights in the manufacture of products, while distribution
licensing gives the licensee the ability to market and distribute products in an area. Brand licensing
allows a firm to use a firm s brand. Licensing enables the licensor to benefit from the skills,
comparative advantage, and other capacities of the licensee (Morschett et al., 2015,

Stress Levels
Wildlife researchers would like to accurately quantify stress levels in animals so that species reactions
to potential stressors in the environment can be documented and predicted. To analyze stress, it is
necessary to obtain some form of body fluid or sample. Researchers face the problem that their
presence in the ecosystem may bias stress measurements (Romano et al. 2010). There are direct and
indirect methods of obtaining samples; researchers must choose a method that will not bias the stress
levels of their study species while obtaining a representative sample of the population. The technique
used will depend on the study, the species, whether the impact of acute or chronic stressors are being
examined, and on the extent of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Salivary glucocorticoid is highly stable. Samples can be stored at room temperature for several days or
up to 4 weeks before analysis is performed (Sheriff et al. 2011)
A controlled number of samples can be collected across short time intervals unlike excrement and
blood , unlimited samples can be taken when the researcher is ready, doesn t have to wait for the
animal to urinate or to recover from previous bleeding.
Cons:
Trapping the animal is required to obtain a saliva sample may bias stress levels
Concentrations of glucocorticoids in saliva are 10 60% of those found in plasma depending on the
species. (Sheriff et al. 2014)
Sampling for saliva could potentially lead to being bitten by the animal
3. Excrement
Pros:
Trapping the animal is not required to obtain an excrement sample
Non invasive sample
Fecal samples can be preserved in cold environments (Creel et al. 2002)
Fecal glucocorticoid levels are not prone to researcher induced biases introduced by handling due to
the delay time of a stressor and its appearance in the feces (Kersey et al. 2014)
Both wet and dry samples can be used and both usually correlate well (Sheriff et al. 2011)
Cons:
Excrement is potentially harmful to investigator
Excrement analysis is species limited (Creel et al. 2002)
The amount of excrement collected in the field can vary
It cannot provide as many physiological indices

The TriggerPoint GRID Foam Roller uses marketing mix techniques to successfully make the product
profitable for TriggerPoint the company. The product is a foam roller to help with preventative care
for people that are active with healthy life styles or need to improve their mobility. This product is
unfamiliar to me because I recently had back and knee issues, which I started looking into trigger
point exercises to help with mobility. The company TriggerPoint has several products that help with
care prevention, including: Massage products, foot rollers, instructional books on trigger points, and
other informational DVDs and text to help assist with the products they sell. The TriggerPoint
company uses their commercials to inform, educate, and advertise their product to aim toward people
that care about their health or need to improve their health. TriggerPoint GRID Foam Roller uses
many different marketing mixes such as segmenting, targeting, positioning, place, price, and does not
even need to promote to be a successful product for the company and provide consumers with a
product they need. Many people have become more active during this time on earth then in the past,
especially when it comes to fitness, health, and ways to get mobility back from non preventative care.

The Ethical And Religious Aspects Of Circumcision
Male circumcision is performed for either medical or religious purposes. There is a significant amount
of controversy regarding to the benefits and complications of male circumcision, therefore, it is a
common research topic in both pediatrics, urology, ethics, and public health. Many studies have found
multiple benefits in circumcision and as of today, the World Health Organization finds circumcision as
one of the preventive methods against HIV/AIDS infection and transmission in developing countries
(WHO, 2014). However, circumcision is not totally safe procedure and several acute and chronic risks
are expected.
The aim of this paper is the presentation of advantages and disadvantages associated with male
circumcision based on peer reviewed articles and recommendations of WHO. The ethical and religious
aspects of circumcision will not be discussed in this paper.
Introduction
Circumcision is a surgical removal of the prepuce (the foreskin), which is a highly innervated and
vascularized section of penile tissue that provides both protection and motorization to the glans penis.
One of the main medical indication for circumcision is phimosis that is unresponsive to
pharmacological treatment. Phimosis is a scarring and thickening of the foreskin that prevents its
retraction back over the glans (Sorokan, et at, 2015). During decision making for a circumcision it is
very important to differentiate phimosis from normal physiological process, because many patients

Clarity Concert Report
On May 28, 2015, high school students Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen performed their self
choreographed jazz duet, titled Clarity. Clarity is the story of two people in a very addicting
relationship, that is completely hopeless, but continues to hold on to hope. Clarity, along with many
other pieces performed in St. Theresa Catholic Secondary Schools dance recital, was an effective and
eye catching piece that used distinct emotion throughout the entire song. The piece had very
substantial timing issues, and minor technique issues, but overall, the piece demonstrated excellent
partnership and promising potential.
The dancers of Clarity used profound emotion not only in their faces, but in their movements as well.
Throughout the entire dance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this particular piece, it was clear that the dancers were striving to hit each beat perfectly, but their
efforts weren t enough. In most sections of the dance, one of the dancers sometimes both of the
dancers, were not in perfect unison. Perfect timing is essential for a duet to look clean and
professional. If the dancers were to perform this piece again, I would advocate them to work towards
restoring the timing of their number.
My last point is about the dancers techniques, which especially relates to the timing of their piece.
While observing the dance, I couldn t help but notice the amount free movement being used. I don t
necessarily think that using free movement was the best idea for this piece, because the tempo of the
song Clarity is very technical. In my opinion, if the dancers had increased their technique to perfect
their piece, it may have looked professional and complete.
The partnership that Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen displayed throughout this whole piece
created an excellent number, and promising potential for future pieces. If both dancers work hard to
improve on the few things I have mentioned, I feel that this number will reach its full prospective, in
the near

Religion and Public school Essay
Imagine walking into a class room filled with clamoring students. The class falls silent as they all
stare. This would be the type of tension and angst caused by differing religious views. America is a
country based off of escape. Some may not agree, but one of the reasons for colonist coming to North
America was to get away from a government whose views were based on an established religion. To
prevent this from happening in America, the Framers of the constitution banished the ability for the
state to interfere with religion, and vice versa. Yet over time this mixture of government and religion
has been tested, especially in cases involving school and religion. Like any argument, there is a party

by psychologist on students and their likelihood to follow the actions of the majority. (Walters) Failure
to do so would lead to students being shunned and outcast. Leaving them feeling uncomfortable and

students do not feel comfortable? In an institution, whose environment is supposed to reflect peace,

The Between Power And Corruption
Power Corrupts Absolutely
Kyle Hayes 0923036
Paula Barata
University Of Guelph
PSYC*1000
Human history has bared witness to more tyrants than it could hope to enumerate. Whether it be
despotic monarchs, autocratic dictators, or megalomaniac celebrities, countless figures in positions of
power have perpetuated Lord Acton s famous axiom, Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power
corrupts absolutely. (Acton, 1906; Figgis Laurence, 1906). However, is Acton s aphorism scientifically
valid, or is it purely anecdotal? Moreover, is it actually power that causes corruption or are the corrupt
attracted to power? These are questions that the scientific community has long sought to answer.
Acton s doctrine has inspired a wide array of experimental studies, most of which utilize random
manipulations of power in order to analyze how it alters behaviour. The limiting factor in these
procedures is the inability to control extraneous variables such as pre existing inclinations to corrupt
behaviour. In order to determine causation rather than just correlation between power and corruption,
researchers realized that in addition to manipulating power exogenously they needed to conduct tests
that gauged inclinations to corrupt behaviour or lack there of. Many studies have also measured the
hormone profiles of participants to see if these profiles had any significant impact on results. Once
these base assessments were analyzed, researchers were able to recognize which participants had

American Football Players Analysis
Starting Safely: Positions in American Football Positions are important in every aspect of life, from
lying in bed to driving a car. Where one being is in relation to another is extremely vital to the well
being and safety of those involved. In What is the Safest Sprint Starting Position for American
Football Players?, an expository text about a scientific experiment, authors Bruno Bonnechere, Benoit
Beyer, Marcel Rooze, and Jan Serge Van Sint claim that they have isolated the correct position
American football players should use when playing. This optimal position is the one most likely to
protect the players and prevent any severe head injuries from occurring on the field. In the beginning
of this article, the authors discuss the current dangers facing many football players of concussions and
long term effects of injuries to the head and neck. Due to these major risks, an experiment was
conducted with both football players and non players to determine the best starting position to lower
the potential damage from collisions. These athletes participated in many study trials with the different
beginning placements of the trunk and head in relation to the ground. They were tested ... Show more

This position is widely used, regardless of how risky it is for the players involved. However, there is
no perfect solution; there s only a better one. The experiment showed that it is difficult to determine
the optimal position due to the conflict of good performance vs. low chance of harm (Bonnechere,
2014). The authors chose to propose a balance between two positions that offers a medium risk,
especially if there has been previous trauma experienced by a player. If a football player has had a
concussion before or is at a higher chance of receiving one, the 2 point start is the safest out of all
three positions studied (Bonnechere,

Difference Between Public And Public Health
Public health is its own system within a larger one known as the healthcare delivery system. The
healthcare delivery system comprises of many sectors, all with different perspectives and goals. Public
health and the healthcare delivery systems very much complement and compete with each other.
Public health as stated by Richard Riegelman is about knowing what not only makes us sick but also
knowing what makes us healthy and how that can be achieved if we come together and work as a
community.2 Public health is everything around us and because of that it has the responsibility of
focusing on everything and everyone. Public health looks beyond the answer for a cure, it looks at the
how, why, when, where, what and therefore a solution on how to protect not only the individual but
serves an entire population. Competition within the healthcare delivery system is something that
began the moment public health was developed because the process of public health was separate
from the development of private medical practices. We still deal with the differences between these
two sectors; one main reason being that their public health approach was population based and took a
prevention viewpoint when practitioners took an individualistic approach to cure diseases not prevent
them. 1The healthcare delivery system complements public health in the aspect that they hold together
a system that was created for the sole purpose of taking care of others health. According to the World

Jean Luc Godard s Weekend as Didactic Self-Reflexive Cinema

Didactic Self Reflexive Cinema According to Stephen Prince in Movies and Meaning: an Introduction
to Film, Screen Reality is a concept that pertains to the principles of time, space, character behavior
and audiovisual design that filmmakers systematically organize in a given film to create an ordered
world on screen in which characters may act and in which a narrative may unfold.(262) One mode of
cinematic screen reality is self reflexivity. While the other three modes of screen reality seek to sway

Weekend represents the culture of political violence and social experimentation, artistic and sexual,
which was the latter half of the 1960s. This somewhat comic but depressing film of Godard s is a
satirical poem and construct of the contempt with which he obviously holds bourgeoisie society. Much
of the film expresses this through the use of symbolism and metaphor. In order to better facilitate the
process whereby the audience becomes aware of Godard s intentions and his message he introduces us
to a young Parisian married couple. Godard sets the clichéd couple, alienated and bourgeois, on a
journey for Corinne s parents country house, hoping to find them either dead or willing to sign the
will. As they persist in their journey we are given various opportunities to appreciate the absolute
complacency and ignorance of the couple (meant to be emblematic of all bourgeois). Godard tries to
peel off the hypocrisy of bourgeois society through the weekend trip of this Parisian middle class
couple. Weekend is a clear continuation of the style, and even ideology, which originated with Brecht
s work in the theater. Jean Luc Godard weaves didactic self reflexive techniques throughout the film,
in order to break the illusion that the spectator is watching a real, authentic world on screen rather than
a movie. In doing so, Godard finds the ability to share his discourse directly with the audience instead
of employing characters to do the job for

A Compare And Contrast Essay On Black Beauty By Anna Sewell
There is a book called Black Beauty written by Anna Sewell. It s a great book about a high class horse
s life and has lots of cool parts. A few years ago, they made a movie series about it called The
Adventures of Black Beauty. The first episode was published on September 16, 1972. The movie on
the other hand has many differences from the book, but they did a good job. In the book, the Master is
gentle to just the horse. For instance, he brings bread and a carrot to Black Beauty and his mother
when he comes to the field. They are his favorites, and he takes very good care of them. Even though
they are the Master s favorites, Dick mistreated Black Beauty. Dick was a boy in the story who would
gather blackberries, and when he was done, he would throw stones at the colts to make them run. The
Master didn t like that, so he knocked him in the ear. Meanwhile in the movie, the Master is gentle to
everyone even Samson, who is the Dick of the story. Samson mistreats Black Beauty and whips him.
When it comes down to the Master, he and Samson are in the Master s office, and the Master asks
what happened to make the horse get startled. Samson lies and says he doesn t know when really it
was because he whipped the horse. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Having a recessive trait like blue eyes is seen as a mark of beauty. Blue eyes may seem cold but the
different hues they encompass can really make someone eyes look enigmatic. However, choosing the
right kind of makeup to go along with those pretty blue eyes can be a tiresome task in itself. You must
realize that not everything and anything can go along with blue eyes. One thing might undermine their
charm while the other might be too bland and bare. There are tons of different makeup tricks for blue
eyes out there, but truthfully, you have got to know which ones the best for you. So, here are a few

Warm Hues
Like it was mentioned before, blue is a calming color with an icy undertone, so one of the ultimate tips
that you can do to augment your eye color is to truly use lots of various hues that consist of warm
colors. The colors that are included in this category are browns, tones of an earthy nature and also
some softer colors that would suit your beautiful blue eyes superbly.
7. Simplicity Pays
Blue eyes are naturally beautiful and have an enchanting look that is an instant crowd puller. So
sometimes you don t require tons of eye makeup to surround your eyes, you just need to go simple and
show them off. Earnestly, too much of color and makeup can divert from you re the natural beauty of
eyes.
8. Highlight
Highlight is the need of the hour in the present times. So make sure that you accompany your eyeliner
or eyeshadow with some highlights. The highlights will softly encase your eyes and also vivify them.
The correct way of applying them is to put them just below your brow bones and in the corner on the
inner side of your eyes. You must make sure that you apply a slightly daintier color in terms of
eyeshadow like silver or beige.

Analysis Of Nancy Marie Brown s The Kitchen
Fedoroff s expertise is not established through highly convoluted scientific jargon. Instead, she shows
her deep understanding of plant biotechnology by explaining difficult scientific topics in
conversational terms. It is unfair to say that the book is a light read, as it certainly requires
concentration to grasp the difficult concepts like transposons and epigenetics. Fortunately, the book s
co author Nancy Marie Brown helps elucidate confusion surrounding these topics. Brown has been a
science writer since 1981 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in writing and a master s degree in comparative
literature from Pennsylvania State University. Since then, she has worked as a writer and editor for the
sciences at her alma mater. Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Science
Writers. With the assistance of Brown s writing ability, Fedoroff establishes her qualifications on plant
biotechnology and conveys her views clearly and concisely, making Mendel in the Kitchen: A
Scientist s View of Genetically Modified Foods much more accessible to the public (Nancy Marie
Brown). By maintaining a largely fact based and scientific perspective throughout the book, Fedoroff
furthers her credibility. Plant biotechnology is Fedoroff s life s work, earning her a plethora of honors
and awards. Thus, it is only natural for her to be more in favor of the pro plant biotechnology view she
argues for in her book. However, Fedoroff maintains a neutral stance for the rest of her

Mabo Case

Legal studies Law Reform
The Australian Legal System response to the Mabo case has changed greatly ever since the first time it
was introduced. Many different acts were introduced and/or amended as a result of this case. The
effectiveness of the law and the law reform in protecting the rights of individual and society at large is
demonstrated throughout this essay.
Eddie Koiki Mabo was born on Murray Island in 1936 and was an Indigenous Australian. In 1974,
during a conversation with two academics, Mabo became aware to the fact that his family did not own
their traditional lands and that it was, in law, owned by the Crown. The Queensland Government

The Mabo decision ended the idea of terra nullius in relation to Australia, when it recognised the
Meriam people as the owners of the Murray Islands. It also opened the door for other Indigenous
groups to be able to claim ownership of land that they could prove a continuous connection with.
Unfortunately Eddie Mabo had died of cancer in February 1992, just 4 months before this historic
high court ruling that would change Australian land law. The judgement was so historic because it
completely overturned the idea of terra nullius and said that native title survived in many places, even
though the land had been taken by the Crown. With Terra Nullius distinguished, it proved the point
that Murray Islands first inhabitants were in fact the Meriam people.
With the Mabo case being successful many other cases came about for example Wik Peoples v. The
State of Queensland (also known as the Wik Decision). It is a decision of the High Court of Australia
in December 1996, regarding the right of access by the Wik peoples of Cape York Peninsula in North
Queensland to Crown land held under pastoral leases for cattle grazing. The court decided (4 judges to
3) that the rights of indigenous people who can prove a connection to the land can coexist with the
rights of the pastoralists, but where there is any inconsistency between the two, the rights of the
pastoralist will prevail. In other words, pastoral leases do not automatically

Operation Bodyguard Research Paper
Operation Bodyguard was the code name for a World War II deception plan employed by the Allied
states before the 1944 invasion of north west Europe. The plan was intended to mislead the German
high command as to the time and place of the invasion.
From January 1942 until the end of the war in Europe in 1945, FBI agents and radio technicians lived
and worked undercover, secretly transmitting coded messages that the Nazis believed came from their
own spies operating in New York. The Nazis believed their operatives were funneling significant
details about U.S. forces, munitions, and war preparations. But in fact, the transmissions were
controlled by the FBI the Nazi spies were FBI double agents. The Bureau s work, known as Operation

My UC Personal Statement
UC Personal Statement Some people have skills that makes them unique, my skill was just always a
hands on learner. I have always just enjoyed fixing minor things around my house since I was four.
My mother would usually say Where s my handyman at? whenever there were something to fix.
Something about getting the knowledge of turning something useless into its original state just
intrigues me. When I was around ten years old, I started skating and it had me actually figure out the
board completely and learned how to assemble one which gave me more experience. Around
elementary and middle school, I didn t know much of what career path I would choose since everyone
I knew in my classes had their lives all planned out. I would panic when people asked what are you
going to be after your out of school? and I didn t know what to say so I just told them that I would be a
correction officer like my dad. In the beginning I forced that thought into my head, but at the same
time I knew it wasn t something I always wanted to be. So my search of my future career was now
back into my first priorities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

culture have changed, there are some fundamental beliefs that have stayed consistent for years. What
has remained consistent is; that Fathers will always be protective of their daughters, and that people

In the 19th century vampires of the genre situation was becoming very popular in the gothic literature.
There were many gothic authors started to emerge and used many techniques new to the vampire
English literature from the traditional lore of the vampire. Lord Byron was the first author published
the complete piece fictional vampire literature of the early 19th century. But in the late 19th century
Bram Stoker an Irish author published his famous novel Dracula in May 26, 1897. His novel became
the famous prototype, and he added some of his touches of his view of vampire into his work. Stoker
had an amazing ability of having a complete research of vampire from myth, folklore, and early

scarce and the few static pictures are mostly of the bat girl. Daigasso! is obviously a very niche title

Chimpanzee Gene Flow Analysis
There are four forces of evolution that species can go through: natural selection, genetic drift,
mutations, and gene flow (Fuentes 98). Though species most often experience all four forces of
evolution at one point in their history, certain forces of evolution may be more significant to the
evolution of a particular species. This is the case for chimpanzees. Though it is evident that the species
was affected by all four forces throughout the history of their evolution, there is one force that proved
most significant in the process. The force of evolution most significant in the development of
chimpanzees as a species is gene flow. This analysis describes the dynamics of gene flow within
chimpanzee populations and explores the role of gene flow as the initiating factor and central
component in the evolutionary process and assessments regarding physical and behavioral similarities
among members of a species.
Background Information
There are two main ways gene flow occurs between chimpanzee populations. Migration is the first.
Migration occurs when individuals or groups of individuals move from one population to another.
This movement results in the transfer of genetic information from one generation to the next (Servedio
92). The transferring of genetic information causes genotypes to change within the ... Show more

Jean Jacques Rousseau Moral Inequality
Inequality is unjustifiable. I will argue about inequality in this paper that how it is unjustifiable even if
inequality is benefiting both, a symbiotic relation, but is disproportion. I will argue about this
statement based on two points citing the literature and giving analogy about inequality. But before that
let me state what Jean Jacques Rousseau thought of inequality.
Inequality is of two types, as per philosopher, Rousseau: physical/natural and moral. Natural
inequality consists of genetic differences, value differences, random chance, health, age, intelligence
and initial circumstances in which one is born. Moral inequality stems from arbitrary molding of
society and individuals from man made conventions and rules. Moral inequality ... Show more content

This inequality that leads to welfare of one set of people at the expense of others can be called vital
inequality. However, hard evidence is piling up that health and longevity are distributed with clearly
visible social patterns. Children in poor countries and poor classes die more often before the age of
one, and between the age of one and five, than children in rich countries and rich classes, notes Goran.
He goes on to mention the case of UK, Low status people in Britain die more often before retirement
age than high status people, and if they survive have shorter lives in retirement. A retired British male
bank or insurance employee, for instance, can look forward to seven to eight more years of retirement
life than a retired employee of Whitbread or Tesco (Financial Times, 20/21.10.07). Is this not
unjustifiable that few rich people or societies who can intervene and remove the inequality of life and
health continue to justify their selfish on logical grounds ? This kind of inequality has to be regulated
at all costs, because health and life are more important value added products and luxuries rich

distractions in the world that divert attention. Think about summertime when everyone gets undressed.
For men, it might be a beautiful woman in a skimpy outfit or a luxury sports car without the car cover.
For women, it might be a male in a skimpy outfit as well such as a Chippendales dancer or the latest

sure to set goals and never stray away from them no matter how much temptation is circling nearby.

Lizzie Wade Analysis

what ethnic group an individual may be associated with. In the article by Lizzie Wade, she described
how it is understandable how someone of German descent has a different genetic variation than
someone from Japan. Wade goes on and mentions that even some ethnic groups may have many
genetic variations within its own. Studying only one ethnic group would not help with determining
how much an individual belongs to a certain ethnic group. That is why researchers take all genetic
variations in account when for example trying to explain the risk of disease or reactions to different
kinds of medications an individual might acquire. The quote by

What if the USSR pulled out of World War II as they had in WWI? If the USSR had pulled out of the

Narrative point of view is pivotal in being able to identify just how there can always be something

Conductors in the music industry are considered to be the leaders of the orchestra during

for orchestrating many of his own works, according to biography.com. In an essay written by
Stravinsky, he asserts his own opinions and point of view on conductors in orchestras. Stravinsky
conveys his point of view by utilizing repetition and tone, and appealing to Logos. In Stravinsky s

On any given day millions of people go and shop at a supermarket. Walking around a modern
supermarket today there is an average of about 47,000 products. But somehow only a handful of food
companies actually produce all of these products. According to the film, Food,Inc. our current system

corporations are getting away with all of this wrongdoing. Today s food system is nothing what is was
fifty years ago, there aren t animals or corn being raised on farms, they are factories that few
corporations handle. Today many animals on a farm are fed corn feed especially chickens and cattle.
Back In the day pigs, chickens, and cows were grass fed. But today it is very common for these farm
animals to bed fed corn feed. Because of eating the corn instead of grass, the animals do not only grow
twice as fast, but they are twice the size as if the animals ate grass. Economically feeding the animals
would be a great idea, buy a small piece of land, and stuff it with chickens while feeding it corn. Many
of us would see that as a gold mine, but there are other effects that could hurt the consumers. Grass fed
meat, milk, and eggs not only contain less total fat and less saturated fats than the same foods from
grain fed animals. The grain fed animals also contain higher levels of omega 3s, or fatty acids.

The Education System Of The Public School System
Teachers are an absolute necessity in today s education system. For approximately fifteen years,
children are under the heavy influence of their teachers. The example set by those in authority will
have an impact on students regardless of what they may claim. While many Christian children are
blessed with the opportunity to attend a Christian school, the public school system is full of hopeless,
unloved, and unsaved children waiting to hear the truth. Christians have an obligation to reach out to
these children and help them see the love of Christ. However, Christian teachers are not permitted to
boldly proclaim the gospel to their students. They must employ more discreet methods to show
students God s love. Yet, some do not feel that Christians have any place in the public school system.
Some would be surprised that a Church Music major would have a place or even be qualified to teach

Journey through Hell in Blood Meridian
Cormac McCarthy s novel Blood Meridian details what can only be described as the kid s journey
through hell. Throughout the novel McCarthy gives the reader the sensation of being in hell. The is
brutal and unforgiving physical setting adds a hellish atmosphere in which there is no evidence of any
morals or sympathy for the innocent. Judge Holden is even described in terms reminiscent of the
devil. All of these factors lead the reader to compare the kid s journey through the Mexican American

There is absolutely no structure to his existence, and every path he follows only leads to more
violence and corruption.
Throughout Blood Meridian there is an appalling lack of morals and concern for the innocent. When
the kid and Glanton s gang enter the different villages along their way, they take every opportunity to
plunder, rape, and destroy. They are generally met with some measure of respect, and they leave each
town virtually in ruin. The violence McCarthy describes concerning children is perhaps his most
powerful tool. McCarthy uses the deaths of so many innocent children to shock the reader and to
further show the cruelty and harsh environment of the time. McCarthy relates in shocking detail the
death of two infants:
One of the Delawares emerged from the smoke with a naked infant dangling in each hand and
squatted at a ring of midden stones and swung them by the heels each in turn and bashed their heads
against the stones so that the brains burst forth through the fontanel in a bloody spew and humans on
fire came shrieking forth like berserkers and the riders hacked them down with their enormous
knives... (156)
This passage, like so many others, shocks the reader. It is nearly impossible to comprehend this level
of cruelty. McCarthy describes it objectively, as if this type of horror were commonplace, which it is
in this novel. The novel focuses on the kid s existence in a world of depravity that seems foreign to the
reader but is all

The Theme Of Blindness In Cathedral By Raymond Carver
As we gain knowledge we gain understanding, giving us a different view of the world. In the story,
Cathedral by Raymond Carver, the author takes us through a day in the life of a husband who is forced
by his wife to meet and entertain her longtime friend Robert who happens to be blind. The husband is
not exactly excited by this visit. The author illustrates the characters development beginning as
apprehensive and jealous, transitioning to more of an uncomfortable feeling, and finally ending with
acceptance as the husband is put into a situation where he gains a new understanding of the blind man.
He ends the story with his eyes closed and a mind open to a new view of the world.
As the story begins, the author seems to portray the main character as apprehensive and jealous. As he
narrates the story, the husband opens with a blunt statement, his being blind bothered me. (34) It
immediately gives the reader the impression that he was very upset about the situation he was put in.
The husband seems more concerned with the fact that the man is blind and states later that his idea of
blindness came from movies. (34) Giving once again an example of how uncomfortable and really
uninformed he was. The husband has a stereotypical view of what a blind person should be like and
sticks to those thoughts throughout the beginning of the story. This gives the impression that he feels
that blindness is more of a handicap and make Robert unrelatable. He also seemed to be jealous of the

The Wizard of Menlo Park and the Master of Lighting Essay
Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla were two of the most influential minds of the 1800s. Edison, the
Wizard of Menlo Park, worked hard his whole life to achieve great feats in science. Tesla, the Master
of Lightning, had a brilliant mind and contributed to an electronic growth that changed American
history. Thomas Edison is such a familiar name, but Tesla on the other hand is more obscure. Edison is
widely known by the American public, but his intellectual equal and adversary is often forgotten.
Edison and Tesla were once friends and worked on many projects together, but an argument over a bet
changed their friendship and the world forever (D Alto). Both men challenged each other throughout
their lives, and their differences in inventions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Producing amazing inventions at a fast pace made Edison a very financially successful man. As he
went from project to project and interest to interest, he made and lost a fortune many times over (
Thomas Alva Edison ). Edison had good luck with money. His inventions attracted investors, who
were more than willing to invest portions of their fortunes. The massive amount of money he made
didn t seem to affect his way of thinking at all. Edison was imaginative and thought of money as little
more than a way to get things done and accomplish his plans (Mone). The inventions, productivity,
and wealth all amount to Edison s fame. His fame, unlike his wealth, did go to his head, and he tried to
convince himself that he had not changed, but he yearned for acknowledgement in the slightest
advancement towards his next invention (Stross). Even though Edison became somewhat egotistic, he
was a very remarkable man. Edison received many awards and medals during his life and even after
his death. Edison is remembered as history s greatest inventor, but should he be? Nikola Tesla is
hidden in the shadows, but if he were brought into the light, would Edison become the forgotten one?
Nikola Tesla s inventions were very simply designed, but the concepts for their workings were
complicated and hard for Americans to accept from a foreigner. Tesla was not a man

Texas Concussions
AUSTIN, Texas This week, Texas will launch what state officials say is the nation s largest effort to
track brain injuries among young athletes.
The University Interscholastic League, Texas governing body for public high school sports, is
partnering with the O Donnell Brain Institute at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
for the project, from which they hope to gauge whether rules or equipment changes are improving
player safety and what more can be done to protect athletes.
A state as large as Texas, which has more than 800,000 public high school athletes, would be a key
step in developing a national database of brain injuries in youths, officials say. Already, the federal
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is seeking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other states have researched head injuries, too.
In Michigan, which requires schools to report concussions, a recent concussion study showed 755
schools reported 4,452 head injuries in the 2015 2016 school year. Football had the most 1,907 and
girls basketball ranked No. 2 with 454.
It tracked details such as whether the injury occurred in practice or a game, whether athletes had to
miss class and how long it took them to return to competition. That research is being shared with
Michigan State University s Institute for the Study of Youth Sports.
The Texas study will collect more concussion data than it has before, University Interscholastic
League deputy director Jamey Harrison said. Currently, Texas requires only one school from each
district report concussions as part of a weekly injury reporting system, though each school in the
football playoffs is required to report concussions.
Right now it s a sample that is just a snapshot. It s not scientific, Harrison said. We need to move

How To Avoid Influenza
How to Avoid a Flu This Fall
The fall season comes hand in hand with the flu. Every year many people get infected with influenza,
the flu. They usually suffer from coughs, body aches, fever and chills, and vomiting in children. As
much as there exists numerous other illnesses that people should avoid during this season, by taking a
few precautions, one can increase his chances of getting through the fall without being infected by this
virus.
Good hands hygiene
Germs are easily transmitted from one person to another through physical contact just as they can be
transmitted through in the air by sneezing. Due to this fact, it is important to practice proper hand
washing technique. This will help in avoiding bacteria and infection which may end ... Show more

A healthy diet will in turn lead to a healthy immune system. Probiotics are used to boost and improve
the body s immune system. This will help in increasing the body s resistance to flu and cold.
A stress free lifestyle
Managing stress is an important pat of remaining healthy. Researchers have revealed that stress is an
immune suppressant. It can largely contribute to both acute and chronic illnesses. Therefore,
developing stress management skills is a fundamental part of preventing various illnesses, including
the flu.
Get enough sleep
Sleep presents the body with an opportunity of repairing and recuperating itself. Poor sleeping habits
or lack of sleep entirely promotes an unhealthy immune system, making an individual susceptible to
sickness. Recent studies have shown that people who sleep for less than six hours every night are 4
times more likely to be infected with flu that the ones that get seven or more hours of sleep.
Furthermore, people who do not get enough sleep end up becoming stressed and cranky. When
compared to happy and buoyant people, people who are stressed and irritated find it more difficult to
fight off

Increasing Medicare Eligibility
Increasing Medicare Eligibility Age to 70 Medicare is the Federal government s largest program and
provides health care benefits to individuals that are 65 years old or old (Elmendorf, 2013). This
program covers over 50 million Americans, including over 8 million disabled Americans (Raising
Medicare s Eligibility Age: A Costly Benefit Cut for Senior, 2014). With the baby boomer generation
coming to the age of Medicare eligibility there is an estimated drastic increase in the number of
individuals participating in Medicare for their health insurance (Elmendorf, 2013). With this being
said some, including the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), believe that increasing the minimum
age of eligibility will save the Federal government money (Meyerson, ... Show more content on

There is an increase in health care advances which allows for many aging individuals to be able to live
and work past the age of 65 (current Medicare eligibility age). Some individuals make the decision to
retire at 65, even though they can continue to work, and qualify for Medicare instead of paying for
health insurance through their old employers. If the age was increased to 70 years old and the same
population continued to keep working then it would reduce the need for Medicare coverage for those
that can still qualify for benefits through their employers (Davidoff, 2003). This would continue to
save the Federal government money for Medicare. This also goes along with the life expectancy rising
which means individuals are staying on Medicare coverage for a longer period of time which means
more spending (Khimm, 2013). If the minimum eligibility age was increase then it would line up
better with the life expectancy and continue to save the Federal government more and more

What Is The Theme Of Deception In Hamlet By Shakespeare
Deception is an action driven with the motive to employ one purpose which can be to mislead another
individual in order to gain knowledge, to get revenge, or to reveal a plan unknown to the public eye
and keeping it that way for the dutiful well being of the Kingdom of Denmark. In the tragedy Hamlet
by William Shakespeare, deception develops into the character trait that initiates the actions,
heartbreak, and revenge driving this play. This attribute held by Hamlet is the leading cause of this
same flaw development in Ophelia, King Claudius, and many others in an attempt to reinforce the
theme. This theme is one of heroism, but the deceptive notion each action reveals challenges the
perception the reader has on each of the main characters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These characters were furthering the play by continually revealing and shaving back the many layers
of Hamlet to show the multitude of sides and angles one character can have in a story. Like night time
to day and day to night time, each angle presents a new perspective. In this play Horatio, King
Claudius, and Laeretes are foil characters to Hamlet. Horatio is calm and level headed, and he does
not allow himself to be misguided. He stays true to himself the entire tragedy. Remaining loyal for the
entirety of the play, Horatio contrast Hamlet. Since the first moments of his Uncle Claudius rule,
Hamlet began his journey into a deceptive state of being. Accomplishing this by failing to
acknowledge his Uncle s title. This brings into the light Hamlet s unloyalty to even persons of kin, this
is also the reason King Claudius is a foil to Hamlet. He always is in need for something more and to
achieve this he will stop at nothing. Hamlet is very charismatic in his approach to killing the king in
the name of revenge, but does not successfully come face to face with the actions until the very last
moments. Waiting the entirety of the novel, Hamlet finally seizes the moment to kill his Uncle
Claudius. Making sure it is not a moment of repentance and it is an unmistaken moment on sin to
ensure his fate, Hamlet kills his uncle following the moments of his mother s last breath. This in part
shows Hamlet to

Edward Deming s Improving The Quality Of Service Quality
Edward Deming contributed to the success in improving the quality in the workplace. His ideas
became the framework and foundation of different organizations, businesses, and institutions. All of
them envision to serve their customers as best as they can and give the kind of service that will
increase productivity. According to Deming, A system is in harmony when subsystems are not in
conflict with one another. Based on this statement, everyone in the workplace must have a good

Third, for opportunities, these are the elements that will help some improvement and changes to the
system such as new trainings and workshops for the staffs and more staff involvements in and outside
the laboratory. Lastly for the threats, these are the internal and external sources of competitions like
turnaround time, unhappy patients and opposition to change.
These criteria will help the laboratory and the staffs to formulate their strategies and the quality of
their services. After formulating the SWOT analysis, the supervisor and the head department can use
the lean six sigma project to solve their problem. This system uses the Define, Measure, Analyze,
Improve and Control (DMAIC) Framework and also focuses on eliminating wastes and non valuable
work in time and resources. According to Sadyadi, The application of Lean Six Sigma in the clinical
laboratory has proven to be beneficial by enhancing quality services and meeting regulatory
requirements that specifically identify the need for adequate work space and reduction of laboratory
errors (Sadyadi 2013). This statement describes that using strategies in the clinical laboratory will help
to increase the type of services they render for customers satisfaction. Using a strategy like the lean
six sigma helps them to create the appropriate action to solve their existing problem. The supervisor

Capital One 360 Business Report Compare and Contrast Business Report Dezurik Capital One 360 Operations and Supply Chain Management November 12th, 2013 Executive Summary Company Overview From an operations management perspective, we compared and contrasted Capital One 360 to Dezurik. We looked at many different aspects of both businesses in relation to various operational and business elements. We conclude that both corporations have significant differences based on manufacturing versus service operations. Dezurik is a pure manufacturing company, which was founded in 1928, while Capital One 360 is a pure service company that was founded in 2013. Dezurik has some valves that they are mass producing all of the time. They also are able to take on project builds for custom sizes and designs. These are two different segments of Dezurik which require two different business strategies. The first strategy that Dezurik has is to be continuously producing their standard size valves. This is a fairly straight forward operations strategy. Keep up with the demand for the valves, and at the same time maintain an efficient product assembly line. The second strategy has to do with their special product order segment. They do this in several different ways. The first is to complete the projects in house, which shares the same as the previous strategy. The second strategy is to have one of their teams build and complete their projects on site. This typically happens when they work on a project with components that are too big to build in house. The business strategy for Dezurik is much different. They want to become the largest producer of valves in the world. They do this by outsourcing some of their components to China, which brings down production costs. They also need to be certified to be sold in other countries around the world. They are trying to expand internationally and build up partnerships and relationships with governments and companies from around the world. After analysing market drivers, demand and consumer behaviour, Pharmaceutical firms may choose the most strategic mode of entry to enter a market. The market entry mode is strategic and is regarded as a major factor in the Internationalisation process (Morschett et al.,2015, p.323). As illustrated below, the International market entry model outlines that Pharmaceutical firms may enter foreign markets through Exports/Imports, Subsidiaries, Mergers/Acquisitions, Joint ventures, or Licensing. Stress Levels Wildlife researchers would like to accurately quantify stress levels in animals so that species reactions to potential stressors in the environment can be documented and predicted. To analyze stress, it is necessary to obtain some form of body fluid or sample. Researchers face the problem that their presence in the ecosystem may bias stress measurements (Romano et al. 2010). There are direct and indirect methods of obtaining samples; researchers must choose a method that will not bias the stress levels of their study species while obtaining a representative sample of the population. There is a significant amount of controversy regarding to the benefits and complications of male circumcision, therefore, it is a common research topic in both pediatrics, urology, ethics, and public health. Many studies have found multiple benefits in circumcision and as of today, the World Health Organization finds circumcision as one of the preventive methods against HIV/AIDS infection and transmission in developing countries (WHO, 2014). However, circumcision is not totally safe procedure and several acute and chronic risks are expected. The aim of this paper is the presentation of advantages and disadvantages associated with male circumcision based on peer reviewed articles and recommendations of WHO. The ethical and religious aspects of circumcision will not be discussed in this paper. Introduction Circumcision is a surgical removal of the prepuce (the foreskin), which is a highly innervated and vascularized section of penile tissue that provides both protection and motorization to the glans penis. One of the main medical indication for circumcision is phimosis that is unresponsive to pharmacological treatment. Phimosis is a scarring and thickening of the foreskin that prevents its retraction back over the glans (Sorokan, et at, 2015). Clarity is the story of two people in a very addicting relationship, that is completely hopeless, but continues to hold on to hope. Clarity, along with many other pieces performed in St. Theresa Catholic Secondary Schools dance recital, was an effective and eye catching piece that used distinct emotion throughout the entire song. If the dancers were to perform this piece again, I would advocate them to work towards restoring the timing of their number. My last point is about the dancers techniques, which especially relates to the timing of their piece. While observing the dance, I couldn t help but notice the amount free movement being used. I don t necessarily think that using free movement was the best idea for this piece, because the tempo of the song Clarity is very technical. In my opinion, if the dancers had increased their technique to perfect their piece, it may have looked professional and complete. The partnership that Morgan Cassidy and Coralyn Whalen displayed throughout this whole piece created an excellent number, and promising potential for future pieces. The Between Power And Corruption Power Corrupts Absolutely Kyle Hayes 0923036 Paula Barata University Of Guelph PSYC*1000 Human history has bared witness to more tyrants than it could hope to enumerate. Whether it be despotic monarchs, autocratic dictators, or megalomaniac celebrities, countless figures in positions of power have perpetuated Lord Acton s famous axiom, Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. (Acton, 1906; Figgis Laurence, 1906). However, is Acton s aphorism scientifically valid, or is it purely anecdotal? Moreover, is it actually power that causes corruption or are the corrupt attracted to power? These are questions that the scientific community has long sought to answer. Acton s doctrine has inspired a wide array of experimental studies, most of which utilize random manipulations of power in order to analyze how it alters behaviour. The limiting factor in these procedures is the inability to control extraneous variables such as pre existing inclinations to corrupt behaviour. In order to determine causation rather than just correlation between power and corruption, researchers realized that in addition to manipulating power exogenously they needed to conduct tests that gauged inclinations to corrupt behaviour or lack there of. Many studies have also measured the hormone profiles of participants to see if these profiles had any significant impact on results. Once these base assessments were analyzed, researchers were able to recognize which participants had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Where one being is in relation to another is extremely vital to the well being and safety of those involved. In What is the Safest Sprint Starting Position for American Football Players?, an expository text about a scientific experiment, authors Bruno Bonnechere, Benoit Beyer, Marcel Rooze, and Jan Serge Van Sint claim that they have isolated the correct position American football players should use when playing. This optimal position is the one most likely to protect the players and prevent any severe head injuries from occurring on the field. In the beginning of this article, the authors discuss the current dangers facing many football players of concussions and long term effects of injuries to the head and neck. • 11. Difference Between Public And Public Health Public health is its own system within a larger one known as the healthcare delivery system. The healthcare delivery system comprises of many sectors, all with different perspectives and goals. Public health and the healthcare delivery systems very much complement and compete with each other. Public health as stated by Richard Riegelman is about knowing what not only makes us sick but also knowing what makes us healthy and how that can be achieved if we come together and work as a community.2 Public health is everything around us and because of that it has the responsibility of focusing on everything and everyone. Public health looks beyond the answer for a cure, it looks at the how, why, when, where, what and therefore a solution on how to protect not only the individual but serves an entire population. Competition within the healthcare delivery system is something that began the moment public health was developed because the process of public health was separate from the development of private medical practices. We still deal with the differences between these two sectors; one main reason being that their public health approach was population based and took a prevention viewpoint when practitioners took an individualistic approach to cure diseases not prevent them. 1The healthcare delivery system complements public health in the aspect that they hold together a system that was created for the sole purpose of taking care of others health. This somewhat comic but depressing film of Godard s is a satirical poem and construct of the contempt with which he obviously holds bourgeoisie society. Much of the film expresses this through the use of symbolism and metaphor. In order to better facilitate the process whereby the audience becomes aware of Godard s intentions and his message he introduces us to a young Parisian married couple. Godard sets the clichéd couple, alienated and bourgeois, on a journey for Corinne s parents country house, hoping to find them either dead or willing to sign the will. As they persist in their journey we are given various opportunities to appreciate the absolute complacency and ignorance of the couple (meant to be emblematic of all bourgeois). Godard tries to peel off the hypocrisy of bourgeois society through the weekend trip of this Parisian middle class couple. Weekend is a clear continuation of the style, and even ideology, which originated with Brecht s work in the theater. Jean Luc Godard weaves didactic self reflexive techniques throughout the film, in order to break the illusion that the spectator is watching a real, authentic world on screen rather than a movie. Unfortunately Eddie Mabo had died of cancer in February 1992, just 4 months before this historic high court ruling that would change Australian land law. The judgement was so historic because it completely overturned the idea of terra nullius and said that native title survived in many places, even though the land had been taken by the Crown. Though species most often experience all four forces of evolution at one point in their history, certain forces of evolution may be more significant to the evolution of a particular species. This is the case for chimpanzees. Though it is evident that the species was affected by all four forces throughout the history of their evolution, there is one force that proved most significant in the process. The force of evolution most significant in the development of chimpanzees as a species is gene flow. This analysis describes the dynamics of gene flow within chimpanzee populations and explores the role of gene flow as the initiating factor and central component in the evolutionary process and assessments regarding physical and behavioral similarities among members of a species. Background Information There are two main ways gene flow occurs between chimpanzee populations. Migration is the first. I will argue about this statement based on two points citing the literature and giving analogy about inequality. But before that let me state what Jean Jacques Rousseau thought of inequality. Inequality is of two types, as per philosopher, Rousseau: physical/natural and moral. Even though Edison became somewhat egotistic, he was a very remarkable man. Edison received many awards and medals during his life and even after his death. Edison is remembered as history s greatest inventor, but should he be? Nikola Tesla is hidden in the shadows, but if he were brought into the light, would Edison become the forgotten one? Nikola Tesla s inventions were very simply designed, but the concepts for their workings were complicated and hard for Americans to accept from a foreigner. Tesla was not a man ... The University Interscholastic League, Texas governing body for public high school sports, is partnering with the O Donnell Brain Institute at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for the project, from which they hope to gauge whether rules or equipment changes are improving player safety and what more can be done to protect athletes. A state as large as Texas, which has more than 800,000 public high school athletes, would be a key step in developing a national database of brain injuries in youths, officials say. In Michigan, which requires schools to report concussions, a recent concussion study showed 755 schools reported 4,452 head injuries in the 2015 2016 school year. Football had the most 1,907 and girls basketball ranked No. 2 with 454. It tracked details such as whether the injury occurred in practice or a game, whether athletes had to miss class and how long it took them to return to competition. That research is being shared with Michigan State University s Institute for the Study of Youth Sports. The Texas study will collect more concussion data than it has before, University Interscholastic League deputy director Jamey Harrison said. Currently, Texas requires only one school from each district report concussions as part of a weekly injury reporting system, though each school in the football playoffs is required to report concussions. Right now it s a sample that is just a snapshot. It s not scientific, Harrison said. We need to move beyond ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Increasing Medicare Eligibility Increasing Medicare Eligibility Age to 70 Medicare is the Federal government s largest program and provides health care benefits to individuals that are 65 years old or old (Elmendorf, 2013). This program covers over 50 million Americans, including over 8 million disabled Americans (Raising Medicare s Eligibility Age: A Costly Benefit Cut for Senior, 2014). With the baby boomer generation coming to the age of Medicare eligibility there is an estimated drastic increase in the number of individuals participating in Medicare for their health insurance (Elmendorf, 2013). There is an increase in health care advances which allows for many aging individuals to be able to live and work past the age of 65 (current Medicare eligibility age). Some individuals make the decision to retire at 65, even though they can continue to work, and qualify for Medicare instead of paying for health insurance through their old employers. If the age was increased to 70 years old and the same population continued to keep working then it would reduce the need for Medicare coverage for those that can still qualify for benefits through their employers (Davidoff, 2003). This would continue to save the Federal government money for Medicare. This also goes along with the life expectancy rising which means individuals are staying on Medicare coverage for a longer period of time which means more spending (Khimm, 2013). If the minimum eligibility age was increase then it would line up better with the life expectancy and continue to save the Federal government more and more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. What Is The Theme Of Deception In Hamlet By Shakespeare Deception is an action driven with the motive to employ one purpose which can be to mislead another individual in order to gain knowledge, to get revenge, or to reveal a plan unknown to the public eye and keeping it that way for the dutiful well being of the Kingdom of Denmark. In the tragedy Hamlet by William Shakespeare, deception develops into the character trait that initiates the actions, heartbreak, and revenge driving this play. This attribute held by Hamlet is the leading cause of this same flaw development in Ophelia, King Claudius, and many others in an attempt to reinforce the theme. This theme is one of heroism, but the deceptive notion each action reveals challenges the perception the reader has on each of the main characters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These characters were furthering the play by continually revealing and shaving back the many layers of Hamlet to show the multitude of sides and angles one character can have in a story. Like night time to day and day to night time, each angle presents a new perspective. In this play Horatio, King Claudius, and Laeretes are foil characters to Hamlet. Horatio is calm and level headed, and he does not allow himself to be misguided. He stays true to himself the entire tragedy. Remaining loyal for the entirety of the play, Horatio contrast Hamlet. Since the first moments of his Uncle Claudius rule, Hamlet began his journey into a deceptive state of being. Accomplishing this by failing to acknowledge his Uncle s title. This brings into the light Hamlet s unloyalty to even persons of kin, this is also the reason King Claudius is a foil to Hamlet. He always is in need for something more and to achieve this he will stop at nothing. Hamlet is very charismatic in his approach to killing the king in the name of revenge, but does not successfully come face to face with the actions until the very last moments. Waiting the entirety of the novel, Hamlet finally seizes the moment to kill his Uncle Claudius. Making sure it is not a moment of repentance and it is an unmistaken moment on sin to ensure his fate, Hamlet kills his uncle following the moments of his mother s last breath.
