Columbus Blue Jackets Case Study
Can the Columbus Blue Jackets continue their hot start? Michael Manley When the Columbus
Blue Jackets trounced the MontrГ©al Canadiens 10 to 0 back on November 4 th , most
believed it was a fluke. Flash forward a week and the Jackets again dominated another top team
in the league, defeating the St. Louis Blues 8 to 4 on November 12 th . Currently, the Jackets
are sitting on a record of 8 4 2 while holding the best power play percentage in the NHL and a top
10 penalty kill percentage. This all begs the question: are the Blue Jackets for real this year? Going
into this season most analysts did not give the Jackets much credit, with many predicting another
bottom of the league finish to go along with last year s. But this team is seemingly... Show more

General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen attempted to solve that problem during last season when he
traded for the young defender Seth Jones. But the team ended last season still needing help on
the back end. They now have that help with the rookie out of the University of Michigan Zach
Werenski. Werenski has averaged the third most time on ice per game this year while also
scoring 13 points in 14 games. Unfortunately for the Blue Jackets, they have to compete with the
other Metropolitan division teams. The Rangers, Capitals, and Penguins are surely the favorites
to win the three division spots leaving the Jackets to fight with the Flyers, Devils, Islanders, and
other teams in the Atlantic division for the last two wildcard spots. While a difficult task this
Columbus team has shown so far they can outplay the best of them. Despite few real changes
being made to this team the Columbus Blue Jackets look revitalized after the disappointment that
was last season. The old players are looking like they used to and the new ones are providing
exceptionally. Whether it is coach John Tortorella s strategies taking hold, the player changes, or
the lack of having to live up to expectations that is sparking this team they are looking like their hot

The Reason For Hitler s War
The reason for Hitler s delay in attacking earlier in the year was for the 200 new Panther tanks
which would take part of the operation as part of Army Group South. Also in Army Group South
would be the crack SS Panzer Divisions which consisted of the majority of heavy armor vehicles
and majority of Tiger tanks which would be the strongest tankon the battlefield. The Russians on
the other hand were able to field an army that dwarfed the Germans forces. With the delay in the
German plans to attack earlier in the year the Russians had plenty of time to build up a force that
could easily defend against the German attack. The Soviets mustered almost 2 million men to fight
the German advance, over 5,000 tanks (mostly all T 34s), and over... Show more content on

The Russians lost a lot of their aircraft in the raids and this would be sorely missed later in the
battle. The air battle would rage on for the entire campaign with the Germans clearly gaining air
superiority on the southern side but the northern side would be a back in forth battle. The
morning of July 5 the Germans opened up along the entire salient with an artillery barrage that
lasted for over 80 mins. This barrage was followed closely by the German bombers how as soon
as the barrage stopped they were making their runs to drop bombs on known Russian defensive
positions. This allowed the German ground forces to attempt to move under the cover of the
artillery and air power that was hitting the Russians. The northern force led by Model pushed
forward with his infantry forces leading the way followed and supported by his panzers and
assault guns. His thought be hide this was to preserve his heavier panzers and tanks by letting the
infantry take the brunt of the Russians defense so that way when the time came to break through
his armor corps was strong. With his forces facing a heavily mined terrain it took time for the
Germans to break through this area. All the while the Russians were launching their own counter
attacks to delay the Germans from pushing too far into the salient. Models force now fully engaged

Examples Of Racial Profiling
Racial profiling involves using a person s race in order to suspect them of doing something
wrong or committing a crime. Racial profiling has been around for decades and has not went
away. Law enforcement or people of authority use it in order to decide whether or not a person is
suspicious. Racial profiling clearly goes against the fourth amendment right of no unreasonable
search and seizure but has yet to be put to an end.
There are many recent examples of racial profiling in the news and in the media. An example is the
shooting and death of a young boy named Tamir Rice. Tamir was only 12 years old when he was
killed. He was at the park with a BB gun, even though he did not point the BB gun at the officer,
the officer shot and killed him.

The Primitive Consistency Theory Is Heider s Balance Theory
Cognitive consistency theories suggest that individuals try to see their natural surroundings in ways
that are basic and uncomplicated. Early consistency philosophers formulated theories of conflict,
retention, and bigotry for indecisiveness by those with a controlling disposition. At the core of
subjective consistency theories, is the suspicion that individuals are propelled to seek coherent
attitudes, thoughts, beliefs, values, behaviors, and feelings. On the off chance that these are
conflicting, they will create a tension state in the individual, and rouse the person to decrease this
strain. People lessen this pressure, as indicated by consistency theories, by making their relevant
cognizance consistent. The primitive consistency theory is Heider s balance theory. This strategy is
correlated with an individual s view of the connections between himself (p) and (normally) two
different components in a triadic structure. In Heider s detailing, alternate components are
frequently someone else (o) and another article (e.g., an issue, object, a value). The approaches in
the structure are assigned as either positive or negative. The objective of surveying the structure of
a triad is to determine whether the connections (mentalities) between the performing artists and
alternate components are balanced, or consistent. An adjusted triad happens when every one of the
connections are positive, or two are negative and one is positive (i.e., two individuals have a
negative state

Sophocles Oedipus Play ( B )
Oedipus play (c. 430 B.C.) by Sophocles pictures an Ancient Greek tragedy in which the main
character usually dies and there is intervention towards the main character s destiny; or the main
character is presented as a good person in the play, but oracles caused them to do bad things. A
classic Greek play such as Oedipuscan be perceived not only as an art in literary work but also as an
analysis of Foucault s theory of power and power relations between the king and the seer of the
kingdom.
Phillip and Huntley (1995) elaborates that character is a person, animal, initiate object on group
representing a unique approach to dealing with the story s problem. Meanwhile, Klarer (1999)
declared that character is the most important part such as a figure and a personality who plays
role in a literary work particularly novel, short story and play. In Sophocles Oedipus Rex, there
are Oedipus, Creon, Teiresias, Iocaste, Priest, Messenger, Shepherd of Laios, Second Messenger,
and Chorus of Theban Elders as the characters. The character that plays the most important part in
the story is called main character while the other characters that interact and communicate with the
main character are called minor characters. Thus, this essay will employ only two characters
which are the king or so called Oedipus as the main character and the seer who is named Teiresias
as the minor character.
Those characters through the process of development are presented by the author which is called

Tim Burton Analysis Essay
Tim Burton Analysis
Tim Burton is a very skilled director. His first job was with Disney but he was more into the
dark stories, his first project was Vincent(1982) . He likes to combine child friendly stories and
dark/mysterious stories/movies. He had many influences like Dr.Suess, Edgar Allan Poe,
Vincent Price, Grimm s fairy tales, and Roald Dahl. Burton is great at using Cinematic
Techniques. He makes the movies pull at the viewer s emotions, either in a happy, sad, or scary
way by using framing, lighting, camera angles, music/sound, and editing. Tim Burton uses
framing a lot to either show the detailed features of a person s face or to show their expression.
During Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, he did a close up on Willy Wonka s face during one
of his flashbacks to show that he was pained to think of his bad childhood. He also uses a close up
shot on Willy Wonka at the beginning to show how WILLY wonka looks. In the beginning of
Edward Scissorhands, Burton used a close up shot on Edward s face to show all of his scars from
his scissorhands. Tim Burton also uses on Edwards scissorhands to show how sharp and shiny they

Jane Eyre Social Expectations
In Charlotte Bronte s novel, Jane Eyre, she writes about the life of a woman named Jane, who
falls in love with a man named Rochester. Throughout the novel Bronte describes and uses the
challenges Jane faces in order to reveal that you can be true to your morals and still be happy with
yourself. According to society s expectations the more wealth you have, the more superior you see
yourself in comparison to others. Throughout the novel Jane has conflicting beliefs about what she
should do when it came to certain situations. She wants to prove self morality while staying true to
her christian morality as well. Brocklehurst is the manager of Lowood, which is the school Jane

her behavior was not ideal according to society s expectations. Bronte uses Bertha to symbolize
freedom for Jane letting go of herself expectations and just being. Bertha s character reveals that
women cannot be true to themselves without being seen as mad. When Rochester reveals to
Jane why he married Bertha, the first thing he says to Jane is that Bertha Mason is mad; and she
came of a mad family idiots and maniacs , implying that if this part of Jane was ever released she
would not be accepted by Rochester. He also goes on to tell Jane that she drags him through all
the hideous and degrading agonies while reassuring her that he was tricked into staying in the
marriage. Throughout the constant back and forth between Jane and Rochester Bertha who
represents Jane s passion seems to always get in the way until the end when Jane realizes that she
can be true to herself morals and still be accepted by Rochester. When Jane is just about to return
to Rochester Bertha flings herself onto the pavement. In this moment her hair is described as
streaming against the flames as she stood. , implying that all of her passions are being set free.
Bronte uses this particular moment to show the reader the importance of staying true to one s self
freedom. St.John represents allowing your christian moral

Management Functions And Functions Of Management Essay
Assessing Management Functions
List the four functions of management and provide an overview of their purpose for the
organization.
The four functions of management are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. The planning
function establishes a way to attain the desired objectives, resolve issues and facilitate action. The
purpose of the planning function is to align the vision, culture, employees and the organizational
structure with the strategies, and this involves multiple levels across the organization. Ultimately,
planning is a needed function for business success (Huff 2009).
The leading function of management assists the managers in administering and overseeing the
performances of the staff. Leading allows management to give help to the employees by guiding
them towards achievement of the organization s goals and also pursuit of their personal and career
goals (Fontaine).
The purpose of the organizing function of management is to identify the best people, design a
structure and provide the needed resources to ensure the success of the organizational plans. The
controlling function of management focuses on the specific tasks of overseeing work pertaining to
company standards and rewarding superior performances. This is one of the tools I/O consultants
can use to devise a system that will identify, support, measure, assess, enhance, and reward
employee performance (Argosy University Online, 2016).

The Historiography Of Genevieve
Most of what we know of Genevieve comes from her hagiography. Although this is resourceful, it
leaves us with limited historical documentation beyond the miracles and saintly duties she
performed. What we do know is that Genevieve was born during or shortly after the year 420 in
Nanterre, which is near Paris. Her parents, Severus (of Frankish origins) and Gerontia (of Germanic
Roman origins) were both peasants within the community. When Saint Germanus traveled through
Nanterre on his way to Britain, he encountered Genevieve. It is told that Genevieve desired to
dedicate her life to Christianity, but historical documentation notes that Saint Germanus prophesied
Genevieve s miracle abilities and persuaded her to become consecrated. Upon the death of her
parents, she moved... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Genevieve prophesied that if people fled the city, they would be ravaged and murdered. Instead,
she encouraged all matrons to pray with her while their husbands fought. This again enraged the
Parisian leaders, but Saint Germanus interceded by offering up consecrated Eucharistic loaves.
After the siege of Paris, Genevieve continued performing miracles and also exorcisms. In 480,
Paris was besieged by the Franks. Genevieve bravely led her matrons with a fleet of boats on the
Seine River to supply trapped citizens with grain and nourishment. Genevieve died around the
year 500 at the age of 82. During her lifetime, she was known as caretaker for the poor and sick.
This role is similar to other saints of her times. After her death, her hagiography praises her
miracle abilities since the shrine of her burial becomes a site for miracles of healings. Genevieve
was soon sainted as the protector of Paris and her name is continually invoked to this day as a
provider of healing and guardianship. Author Lisa Bitel notes how the work of Genevieve helped
build Christianity within barbarian Europe by way of her famed public miracles and continual

situation in Syria has been dramatically deteriorating in recent months with the rise of the Islamic
State of Iraqand the Levant (ISIL) and the recent entrance of Russia into the conflict. Syria,
meanwhile, has been in the midst of a ravaging civil war since the early spring of 2011.

This led to various sectarian strifes among the countries in the Middle East. Since Russia started
bombing, they have mostly targeted anti Assad rebels, rather than ISIL which they stated they were
bombing. I propose to include Russia in the current coalition, led by the United States, which also
include Australia, Bahrain, Canada, France, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab
Emirates, United Kingdom. There will have to be negotiations in order to get Russia to
cooperate so they do not go rogue and bomb targets that are supported by the West and other
countries in the coalition. By having Russia in the coalition and working with the United States,
there will be a greater oversight of their operations and more transparency among the nations.
This will help with making strategic attacks so ISIL can be degraded and destroyed and also so
the Assad regime will finally relinquish power to a democratic government. There also must be
targeted strikes upon ISIL s main sources of income: oil reserves. Although this may harm
potential future capabilities of Syria or Iraq to drill for oil, it will severely disrupt the income of
ISIL so that they will not be able to buy the resources necessary to fight against the governments
and to maintain the territory which it has already conquered. Next, in order to quell

Early Christian Teachings
It s no question that Jesus played the biggest part in the forming of Christianity. The question is
how much of Christianity is based off of his teachings? For starters, there are a lot of his teachings
that are not used in modern day. Christianity is built off of a whole lot. Namely the Pharisee
tradition of Judaism and all that comes with it (the old testament, the concept of heaven/hell, the
resurrection, the devil, etc). Furthermore, Christianityis not based solely off of the teachings of Jesus
per say, rather it is based off of the story. Namely the crucifixion and resurrection. As far as how we
should live, we get a lot of that from Jesus, Paul, John, Peter, and the early church. Unfortunately,
denominations, churches, and theologies tend to give principals and rules rather than equip the
average believer to actually walk with and know God. As far as doctrines such as the trinity, and
general Christology we get this very much from the early Church. So ultimately you have the Old
Testament through the lens of the Pharisee s, the life of Christ, the teachings and histories in the
new testament, and then the doctrines found to be truth by the early Christians.... Show more content

The Labor Theory Of Value
The labor theory of value is an economic theory first proposed by Adam Smith that states that the
value of a good or service is determined by the labor it takes to create the product under normal
circumstances. Furthermore, supply and demand do not affect value, only price. An economist and
philosopher named Karl Marxbelieves this theory proves that capitalismis inherently exploitative of
the working class. Every person has labor power, or the ability to work. However, labor power is
fueled by external resources (such as food, water, clothing, and transportation to the workplace)
which all have value as well, so when an individual s work is more valuable than that sustenance,
surplus value generates. Surplus value will benefit the business rather than the laborer, therefore
Marx believed capitalism is inherently exploitative. Additionally, he thought that capitalistic society
is made up of classes that are bound to struggle consequentially, that this would lead a state to
naturally shift into communism. Nonetheless, this theory is not commonly accepted; marginalism
is the belief that not only the labor used in manufacturing affects its value, but the marginal utility
the overall satisfaction from the good or service. There is a multitude of other opposing theories
and criticisms of Marx s beliefs.
There are many different systems of economics, but if Marx s logic were consistent, each of them
would be exploitative. Capitalism, the least because the working class has

The Importance Of Too Cool For Kids In High School
Too Cool for School! Does Facebook Belong in the Classroom? I believe that kids in high school
or middle school can benefit from using social media. Kids in high school should definitely be
able to access social media and will benefit from it because it can help them fit in. If all the kids
in the school are active on social media, they support each other in friendship. It lets every kid be
a part of things. Social media can be a great way to connect with others, friends old and new.
Kids can even ask teachers questions. Another reason why social media is good for kids is that it
keeps them up to date on the news. Every time I go on Facebook, I see news events from around
the world. I also hear about things happening in my community. For example,

The Situation Of Sub Saharan Migrant Women
It is a tragic situation. Sub Saharan migrant women in these circumstances are subject to additional
abuse of their human rights. African women are often exploited. A majority of reports on
migration into Morocco on to Europe involve trafficking of women (Anyadike, 2015). Many
women seek financial security in the form of a sponsor, usually from a man who will accompany
and support them. But this type of aid has negative effects, it has caused a stressing issue that
creates debt bondage in which they must pay off most commonly through sex work (Anyadike,
2015). Article four of the Universal Declaration of Human Rightsprohibits slavery, another
unethical practice that Africans have resorted to is in direct violation of the human rights. Again,
it is rooted in the weakness of the migrants. Most that participate in sex work have no other
options. And those who perpetrate this exploitation have created an unbreakable cycle, forcing
African women to be in debt for as long as they can draw it out for. This problem is not going
away with the industry of sex trafficking well and live alive, even today; the issue is expanding.
And solutions are hard to come by, especially when the parties involved are limited with incentives
or resources to help.
It seems that the Moroccan population is unlikely to work towards a solution to the human rights
abuse of the foreigners. On the other end, the Africans in the unethical, poor state that they are in
are helpless. But is

Student Athletes Are Deserving Of Economic Remuneration
The seven most popular sports (in order) in the United States are: NFL, MLB, NCAAF, auto
racing, NBA, NHL, and NCAAM (Rovell, 2014). Five of the sports included are professional
where the athletes are paid. However, two of them NCAAF and NCAAM are amateur sports
headed by student athletes who are not paid. When these college sports are on par with professional
organizations that are worth billions of dollars, then the amateurism behind the NCAAF and
NCAAM is questioned. In fact, the NCAA generates almost a billion dollars annually. Since the
athletes in question are amateurstudent athletes, paying them might damage the integrity of the
sports. Therefore, there is an ongoing contested debate over whether student athletes are deserving
of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, amateurism is an illusion because the NCAA insatiably embrace[s] commercialism in
all facets of intercollegiate athletics except on a single issue athlete compensation (Zola, 2013).
The 1980s is where NCAAM and NCAAF exploded as businesses. The Supreme Court, in 1984,
struck down the NCAA s restrictions on television appearances. This coincided with the government
deregulation of cable television and, ultimately, led to massive television contracts and sports
stations covering NCAAM and NCAAF. As the athletic departments of universities expanded
profoundly, they continued to reiterate the student in student athletes. By doing so, they built the
boundary up as an effective defense from allowing college athletes to get a cut of the newfound
income. In 1988, the NCAA became an effective private institution when the Supreme Court ruled
against Jerry Tarkanian and allowed the NCAA to dismiss due process during their investigations.
Amateurism, in the sake of college football and men s basketball, is a falsehood and a boundary
created by the NCAA and enforced by college coaches and athletic departments. The meaning
behind the category of student athletes was empowered by the NCAA in the 1950s to fend off
lawsuits and implement the sanctity of college sports as amateur sports. The NCAA s moral
authority lies in the term student athlete and is meant to conjure the nobility of amateurism, and the
precedence

What Are The Consequences Of Routinely Arming The New...
What are the consequences of routinely arming the New Zealand Police?
There are currently very few law enforcement agencies in the world that remain unarmed. Of the 34
member countries that make up the Organization for Economic Co operation and Development
(OECD) it is only Ireland, Norway and Britain that share New Zealand s unarmed status. New
Zealand Police has a strong history of being unarmed, in that officers don t routinely wear a
firearm on their person. The current policy allows for police to be armed depending on the level of
risk. However, there are differing views on degree of access to firearms, for example: should
firearms be secured in police vehicles, should the armed offenders Squad continue to be first
response, or should our police be routinely armed?
The increasing levels of reported crimes of violence in society today, and in particular the
increasing incidence of the use of firearms in crime, give us all cause for concern. Policing is an
integral component of our communities, so how the Police deal with this changing dynamic will
influence not only serious crime, but also future public perception of policing as we know it.
The key question for discussion here is what would the likely consequences be if New Zealand
were to routinely arm its police? In this essay I will argue that New Zealand should routinely arm
its police as the consequences of not arming outweigh the risk to police and public. There has been
extensive commentary on this debate by

Rabbit Novella Carpenter
In Part 2 (Rabbit) Novella Carpenter learns just how precious food really is. Nico (Carpenter s
friend whom lived in a cabin in the woods) asked Carpenter to bunny sit , after her original sitter
flaked out. The idea of the bunnies was like a new drug at a party to Novella, exciting and
thrilling. Overwhelmed with the thought of learning to care for rabbits, Carpenter than hears Nico
say, You know that whatever you breed, you can eat, too, right? (104). While driving home with the
bunnies, Carpenter seemed less enthusiastic about breeding and eating them. Looking on the
brighter side, Carpenter realized the bunnies would be easier to care for than that of turkeys. One

Immanuel Kant Deontology Theory
Throughout history, wars over the meaning of equality have been expressed in many ways for the
purpose of establishing one standard to the meaning of equal. Equal is being treated with the same
respect regardless of gender. The theory of deontology has defined and developed the meaning of
equal within society. However, it has been a slow process. Miscommunication and
misunderstanding to the meaning of gender equality is responsible for personal and social tyranny.
Happiness, fairness, and dignity have risen from social roles, poverty, and health reform that
defined the message to the question of what it means to be equal and unequal among men and
women using the deontology theory as this essay will demonstrate.
Deontology is an ethical theory that focus on the will of a person. It is a philosophy about how
people ought to act. Deontology is non consequentialism. People s action should not play the role in
evaluating the act of morality. Duties and obligation are the target to the will of a person. There are
two important rules in deontology. The first rule is never treat people as a means to an end in
achieving a goal because it is disrespectful. The second rule is act in the manner that maxim the
action with the intent to developing into a universal law. Immanuel Kant is a philosopher of ethics.
According to an article titled Groundwork for the Metaphysic of Morals Immanuel Kant (2008)

Introduction
Background and Significance:
The goal of this action research project is to contrast and compare the economic and cultural
benefits of multigenerational households in the Midwest of USA since the economic downturn.
This research will focus on multigenerational households of families attending the Southern Illinois
University Edwardsville (SIUE) Belleville Head Start Center . The families at this particular Head
Start are diverse, young parents with low income and other factors that fit the criteria for this
project. The center s population would have the perfect variables and characteristics for my project.
The project would include information on the economic and cultural aspects of different racial
/ethnic groups, elder care, single parents, immigrants, black and Hispanics who live in
multigenerational homes. The multigenerational families have become a growing topic of interest.
Multifamily households are defined by the U.S. Census as family households consisting of three or
more generations (U. S. Census Bureau, 2012).
The purpose of this project is to investigate how beneficial it is to families to live in a
multigenerational family household. For over twenty years, I have worked with these families and
it has been a vital balance to create stability for the family and directly impacted the child. I will
use the findings of this action research project to better assist my families to reach a level of self
sufficiency.

Why I Am My Writing
While I believed my writing to be concise, yet thorough in the beginning of the semester, it
became clear to me that that was not the case. When entering EN3414, I had no knowledge of
critical theories or how to use secondary sources to enhance my argument instead of carry it. I
believed my heavy sentence phrasing to be an asset instead of a way to bury my argument beneath
long thoughts. In EN3414, I was able to focus on taking my papers straight to my argument, to
avoid useless sources or let them lead the paperinstead of letting my argument carry the essay.
And because I have learned to revise and rewrite my papers as many times as possible before they
are due, I can no acknowledge the parts of my essay that are too heavy or that need to be
expanded upon. As I finish this course I feel my writingis clear and concise, stating an idea and
following that argument throughout the paper. Before taking Critical Writing and Research
Literary Studies, my writing, while rather average, was enough to enable success in composition
and survey courses; however, it was not advanced enough for this class. The writings for
composition or survey classes were organized, but lacked a depth or clear argument. While the
topics would be clear and covered, there would be little to no in depth analysis and more of a
skimming above the surface. Even in longer papers, the depth of my argument was never really
deep enough, and while it was enough for the beginning courses, it clearly became a

Analysis Of Roald Dahl s Dahl
I use to love reading Roald Dahl when I was a younger, I was surprised to find out that Roald

Josie! He was in a bustle of enthusiasm now arranging everything, like a child preparing for some
exciting game. Where will you have her? Where shall she stand? The way Roald Dahlwrites allows
you to feel the same enthusiasm that Drioli experiences. Drioli is making the foolish mistake of

destruction of everything else including; properties, businesses, and jobs. The war was horrible, I
believe that the aftermath had an affect on everyone s jobs, livelihood, and the living conditions
degraded. Drioli was one such ordinary man,

it, but there is way more behind the food. Working conditions are a huge problem across the
country and world.
To start with, many workers get injured and sick doing this job. There are many reports about body
parts getting amputated during the meat process, but the factory kept running and the limb was

employees are forced to pee on the floor near the meat that people would eat soon. And they are
still working, so they don t have enough time to stop and wash their hands which is another
problem with the assembly line going so fast.

Difference Between Public And Public Health
Public health is its own system within a larger one known as the healthcare delivery system. The
healthcare delivery system comprises of many sectors, all with different perspectives and goals.
Public health and the healthcare delivery systems very much complement and compete with each
other. Public healthas stated by Richard Riegelman is about knowing what not only makes us sick
but also knowing what makes us healthy and how that can be achieved if we come together and
work as a community.2 Public healthis everything around us and because of that it has the
responsibility of focusing on everything and everyone. Public health looks beyond the answer for a
cure, it looks at the how, why, when, where, what and therefore a solution on how to protect not
only the individual but serves an entire population. Competition within the healthcare delivery
system is something that began the moment public health was developed because the process of
public health was separate from the development of private medical practices. We still deal with the
differences between these two sectors; one main reason being that their public health approach was
population based and took a prevention viewpoint when practitioners took an individualistic
approach to cure diseases not prevent them. 1The healthcare delivery system complements public
health in the aspect that they hold together a system that was created for the sole purpose of taking
care of others health. According to the World Health

Claude Debussy
Impressionism is a style of music that derived in the late 19th century thanks to French
composer Claude Debussy. It was almost analogous to the impressionist art at the time, which
was supposed to leave an impression on the audience, having meaning but never a clear one. The
use of color , or timbre in the case of music, was heavily used to create the atmosphere of the
pieces, achieved by orchestration and texture. This style was seen as a response to Romanticism,
getting rid of the forward direction of standard harmonic progression, resulting in an obscure
tonality and harmony. The father of this style, Claude Debussy, was born in Saint Germain en

aspect presented by the speaker in the poem is the differences of tone in the first and second
halves of the poem. In the beginning of the poem, the speaker is in first person speaking to the

Medifast Program Analysis
The Medifast program is a scientifically backed weight loss program. This program consists of
nutrient dense meals and vitamins (Medifast Inc., 2016). Medifast s most popular meal plan is
five Medifast meals and one lean and green meal. Each Medifast meal has the same amount of
calories and nutrients, meals are 100 calories each, the lean and green meal consists of 7oz of
lean protein and endless amount of greens in the form of veggies or salad. The reason why this
plan works is individuals are only consuming less than 1000 calories a day. This helps individuals
with portion control and gives them the daily requirements of vitamins and minerals. The basic
nature of the Medifast diet it to restrict the caloric intake of obese individuals and supplement with
Medifast prepared meals, this ensures optimal weight loss, medical monitoring comes along with
this diet, individuals will need to get blood work and routine physician visits, this ensures that
individuals are following the meal plan.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obesity and morbidity obese individuals tend to have co morbidity, these co morbidity are
hypertension, high blood cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes, just to name a few. Obesity is any
individual with a body mass index of 30 and over (Lenfant, M.D., C. 1998). Obese individuals are
given a five and one meal plan, which means five Medifast meals and one lean and green meal.
Each Medifast meal is less than 150 calories per serving, the lean and green is 7oz of lean protein
and endless amount of salad and vegetables, and very little dressing (Medifast Inc., 2016). Obese
individuals are restricted from earing no more than 1000 to 1500 calories a day. According to
Lenfant, M.D., C (1998) obese individuals should be placed on a weight loss plan that has a caloric
deficit of 500 k/cal to 1000 k/cal per day in order to achieve a 10% weight loss during a six month

The Zookeeper s Wife
The opening scene of the Zookeeper s Wife is vital in establishing the binary between the oasis
of the zoo before the war and the destruction the war brings. Natural sunlight fills the first scene
of the film and green is a common color found throughout the zoo. The first scene oozes natural
beauty and signifies the life that occupies it. The zoo seems almost too perfect, like it could not
possibly be a creation of man, but of one gifted from the heavens. The zoo begins as the Garden of
Eden in the midst of Poland, but as the war erupts, it mimics the original sin, destroying the zoo
turning its sanctuary into a thing of the past. The ash from the ghettos covers the zoo and literally
represents destruction of not only the ghetto but, the former

Battle Of Britain Advantages And Disadvantages
In the summer and fall of 1940, the first major air battle of history took place after the Fall of
France in World War 2. The British fought to defend their skies against the force of the Germans.
The Battle of Britain also marked the first major defeat of Hitler s military forces during the war,
with air superiority seen as the key to victory. England and Germany viewed air power in different
ways. Germany viewed air power as support for ground forces and had no strategic bomber
development. Meanwhile, the British had an independent military service called the Royal Air Force
(RAF). The RAF had a fighter command and a bomber command. Operation Sealion was the
German plan to invade England. They gathered ships and barges in Northern France ports to
transport their invasion forces across the English Channelby ferries. Along with this, three
Luftflotte, (air fleets) were assigned to the operation. What the Germans needed was to neutralize
the Royal Air Force and gain air superiority in order to successfully invade Great Britain. The task
was given to Hermann Göring, Air Marshall of the German Luftwaffe. However, there was one
downside to this operation; the RAF must be neutralized before autumn storms made the crossing
of the English Channel impossible. The advantages and disadvantages of both the British and
Germans played key components in The Battle of Britain. The British had too few high performing
Spitfires and too many Hurricanes. They did not have enough trained

Introductory Physics Personal Statement
I began teaching as a graduate teaching assistant and project assistant at the University of Wisconsin
Madison. As a teaching assistant, I conducted labs, discussion sessions, and some honor sessions
for introductory physics courses in electromagnetism, thermal dynamics, optics, and modern
physics. As a project assistant, my responsibilities included grading homework, discussing it with
students, and prepare some homework solutions in quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, and
an introductory physicscourse. In teaching physics, my main goal is to have my students actively
thinking like physicists. I believe that the ability to think like a physicist is valuable to everyone,
whether physics graduates, physics majors or non physics majors. And more importantly, the ability
can be developed in physics classes, especially critical thinking and quantitative analysis. To better
achieve this goal, I gear my approaches to different groups of students.
In Physics 208, an introductory physics course taught by Prof. Mark Rzchowski for non physics ...

All too often, students tried to memorize the equations and solve the problems by a formula seeking
process. In my discussion session, I emphasized the big picture and the physics behind the
problems. I recapped the lectures and led group discussions to help the students understand the new
material and the connection between the new one and the old ones before solving problems. I also
encouraged the students to discuss the problems in groups, so that they could focus more on how to
think and solve the problems rather than go through the notes to find the right formula. To help
them understand the physics behind the formulas, I pushed them to explain not just what to do, but

Critical Criticism Of The Merchant Of Venice
After the Second World War and which was the worst of its chapters, the Holocaust ( the systematic
mass slaughter of European Jews, along with some other minorities in Nazi concentration camps ),
the world became sensitive, although it was only ephemerally, to be cognizant of what was to take
to the extremes the Christian hatred of Jewsby their total extermination and genocide. It has been
established the figure of six million European Jews who were eliminated in the Holocaustof Hitler
systematically and methodically, forced from their homes, deprived of their belongings including
their human dignity, deported and sent to die in concentration camps, just because of being Jews.
In the immediate aftermath of the Holocaust, whenever they have represented The Merchant of
Venice after World War II, the visions of the terrible slaughter have come to be remembered, in a

In this play, The Merchant of Venice, he combines tragedy and comedy which were the most
dominant styles of literature of that time, this allowed freedom in terms of the interpretation, which
created a wide range of personalities. Moody argues (1964) the established view of The Merchant
of Venice goes something like this:
The Merchant of Venice, then, is about judgement, redemption and mercy; the supersession in
human history of the grim four thousand years of unalleviated justice by the era of love and mercy.
It begins with usury and corrupt love; it ends with harmony and perfect love.
En resumen, los dos motivos principales del argumento, el del prГ©stamo hecho por un judГo a un
cristiano por una libra de carne, y el de una elecciГіn entre objetos de aparentemente distinto valor,
son antiguos y recurrentes. To contract opinions about the argument, Susan Hundertmark

Stereotyping In Anney Boatwright s Bastards Out Of Carolina
As a society we often judge or form opinions based on others according to their gender, race and
class; this is called stereotyping. Stereotyping involves making generalizations to describe or
differentiate a group. Stereotypes are harmful to women and their experiences because they can
cause bad decision making that can lead to negative outcomes. Anney Boatwright in Dorothy
Allison s novel Bastards Out of Carolina is heavily burdened by the stereotype of being identified
as white trash, which leads her to making unorthodox decisions regarding her family in hope of
breaking free of this white trash stereotype. Stereotypes are destructive in the shaping of individuals
lives, because they make us diregard differences between individuals. Since... Show more content

It is evident that gender stereotypes limit women to culturally suitable gender roles and
behaviors while denouncing those who decide not to conform to such roles or behaviors. In Ann
Petry s The Street stereotypes deny Lutie of jobs that will provide financial stability for freedom.
Lutie took the civil service exam and was still only able to get a lower level government job.
Black people are stereotyped as being lazy and unintelligent which only left them with jobs such
as shining shoes and washing clothes and scrubbing floors for years and years...the hard work.
The dirty work. The work that pays the least. (70). Lutie is use to it though because she has no
other option. Women are often stereotyped for only being good for sex. When Lutie applies for
different jobs there is always an alter motif that involves sexual favors. Lutie throughout the
novel was looked at as this sexual being in the eyes of men. For example when she auditions to
become a singer for Mr. Crosse he says she has to go through six weeks of training that will cost
her $125 dollars, which is money Lutie doesn t have and instead of offering a payment plan he
decides to present her with the option of having sex with him. Also, how the Super is sexually
obsessed with Lutie. These examples of the gender stereotype that women are only good for sex
holds Lutie back, because in the eyes of men that is all she is...a sex object. These stereotypes
brought on by society makes it

Comparison Of Bacon Lettuce And Tomato Sandwich
the heart of everything we the people hold dear. To be able to have access to our bacon lettuce and
tomato sandwich is our constitutional right. Wake up America. We are heading down a long
dangerous road of cut and paste and the lying talking heads are going to work distorting
information and telling us what to believe and what to eat. After all, why would we want to
discover the truthfor ourselves, when we can just blindly accept the word of a few persons? It is
high time we stop worrying about fake news. We know it s fake so there is no need to tweet
about it. Our duty is to gather the facts, disregard the bias, and formulate our own opinions. Let us
not repost the lies repeatedly on our social media page. Best to check everything

Michael Manley When the Columbus Blue Jackets trounced the MontrГ©al Canadiens 10 to 0 back on November 4 th , most believed it was a fluke. Flash forward a week and the Jackets again dominated another top team in the league, defeating the St. Louis Blues 8 to 4 on November 12 th . Currently, the Jackets are sitting on a record of 8 4 2 while holding the best power play percentage in the NHL and a top 10 penalty kill percentage. Werenski has averaged the third most time on ice per game this year while also scoring 13 points in 14 games. Unfortunately for the Blue Jackets, they have to compete with the other Metropolitan division teams. The Rangers, Capitals, and Penguins are surely the favorites to win the three division spots leaving the Jackets to fight with the Flyers, Devils, Islanders, and other teams in the Atlantic division for the last two wildcard spots. While a difficult task this Columbus team has shown so far they can outplay the best of them. Despite few real changes being made to this team the Columbus Blue Jackets look revitalized after the disappointment that was last season. The Russians on the other hand were able to field an army that dwarfed the Germans forces. With the delay in the German plans to attack earlier in the year the Russians had plenty of time to build up a force that could easily defend against the German attack. This barrage was followed closely by the German bombers how as soon as the barrage stopped they were making their runs to drop bombs on known Russian defensive positions. This allowed the German ground forces to attempt to move under the cover of the artillery and air power that was hitting the Russians. • 5. The Primitive Consistency Theory Is Heider s Balance Theory Cognitive consistency theories suggest that individuals try to see their natural surroundings in ways that are basic and uncomplicated. Early consistency philosophers formulated theories of conflict, retention, and bigotry for indecisiveness by those with a controlling disposition. At the core of subjective consistency theories, is the suspicion that individuals are propelled to seek coherent attitudes, thoughts, beliefs, values, behaviors, and feelings. On the off chance that these are conflicting, they will create a tension state in the individual, and rouse the person to decrease this strain. People lessen this pressure, as indicated by consistency theories, by making their relevant cognizance consistent. The primitive consistency theory is Heider s balance theory. This strategy is correlated with an individual s view of the connections between himself (p) and (normally) two different components in a triadic structure. In Heider s detailing, alternate components are frequently someone else (o) and another article (e.g., an issue, object, a value). The approaches in the structure are assigned as either positive or negative. The objective of surveying the structure of a triad is to determine whether the connections (mentalities) between the performing artists and alternate components are balanced, or consistent. An adjusted triad happens when every one of the connections are positive, or two are negative and one is positive (i.e., two individuals have a negative state ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sophocles Oedipus Play ( B ) Oedipus play (c. 430 B.C.) by Sophocles pictures an Ancient Greek tragedy in which the main character usually dies and there is intervention towards the main character s destiny; or the main character is presented as a good person in the play, but oracles caused them to do bad things. A classic Greek play such as Oedipuscan be perceived not only as an art in literary work but also as an analysis of Foucault s theory of power and power relations between the king and the seer of the kingdom. Phillip and Huntley (1995) elaborates that character is a person, animal, initiate object on group representing a unique approach to dealing with the story s problem. Meanwhile, Klarer (1999) declared that character is the most important part such as a figure and a personality who plays role in a literary work particularly novel, short story and play. In Sophocles Oedipus Rex, there are Oedipus, Creon, Teiresias, Iocaste, Priest, Messenger, Shepherd of Laios, Second Messenger, and Chorus of Theban Elders as the characters. The character that plays the most important part in the story is called main character while the other characters that interact and communicate with the main character are called minor characters. • 14. Early Christian Teachings It s no question that Jesus played the biggest part in the forming of Christianity. The question is how much of Christianity is based off of his teachings? For starters, there are a lot of his teachings that are not used in modern day. Christianity is built off of a whole lot. Namely the Pharisee tradition of Judaism and all that comes with it (the old testament, the concept of heaven/hell, the resurrection, the devil, etc). Furthermore, Christianityis not based solely off of the teachings of Jesus per say, rather it is based off of the story. Namely the crucifixion and resurrection. As far as how we should live, we get a lot of that from Jesus, Paul, John, Peter, and the early church. Unfortunately, denominations, churches, and theologies tend to give principals and rules rather than equip the average believer to actually walk with and know God. As far as doctrines such as the trinity, and general Christology we get this very much from the early Church. The Labor Theory Of Value The labor theory of value is an economic theory first proposed by Adam Smith that states that the value of a good or service is determined by the labor it takes to create the product under normal circumstances. Furthermore, supply and demand do not affect value, only price. An economist and philosopher named Karl Marxbelieves this theory proves that capitalismis inherently exploitative of the working class. Every person has labor power, or the ability to work. However, labor power is fueled by external resources (such as food, water, clothing, and transportation to the workplace) which all have value as well, so when an individual s work is more valuable than that sustenance, surplus value generates. Surplus value will benefit the business rather than the laborer, therefore Marx believed capitalism is inherently exploitative. Additionally, he thought that capitalistic society is made up of classes that are bound to struggle consequentially, that this would lead a state to naturally shift into communism. Nonetheless, this theory is not commonly accepted; marginalism is the belief that not only the labor used in manufacturing affects its value, but the marginal utility the overall satisfaction from the good or service. There is a multitude of other opposing theories and criticisms of Marx s beliefs. • 18. The Situation Of Sub Saharan Migrant Women It is a tragic situation. Sub Saharan migrant women in these circumstances are subject to additional abuse of their human rights. African women are often exploited. A majority of reports on migration into Morocco on to Europe involve trafficking of women (Anyadike, 2015). Many women seek financial security in the form of a sponsor, usually from a man who will accompany and support them. But this type of aid has negative effects, it has caused a stressing issue that creates debt bondage in which they must pay off most commonly through sex work (Anyadike, 2015). Article four of the Universal Declaration of Human Rightsprohibits slavery, another unethical practice that Africans have resorted to is in direct violation of the human rights. Again, it is rooted in the weakness of the migrants. Most that participate in sex work have no other options. And those who perpetrate this exploitation have created an unbreakable cycle, forcing African women to be in debt for as long as they can draw it out for. This problem is not going away with the industry of sex trafficking well and live alive, even today; the issue is expanding. And solutions are hard to come by, especially when the parties involved are limited with incentives or resources to help. There are currently very few law enforcement agencies in the world that remain unarmed. New Zealand Police has a strong history of being unarmed, in that officers don t routinely wear a firearm on their person. The current policy allows for police to be armed depending on the level of risk. However, there are differing views on degree of access to firearms, for example: should firearms be secured in police vehicles, should the armed offenders Squad continue to be first response, or should our police be routinely armed? The increasing levels of reported crimes of violence in society today, and in particular the increasing incidence of the use of firearms in crime, give us all cause for concern. Policing is an integral component of our communities, so how the Police deal with this changing dynamic will influence not only serious crime, but also future public perception of policing as we know it. Equal is being treated with the same respect regardless of gender. The theory of deontology has defined and developed the meaning of equal within society. However, it has been a slow process. Miscommunication and misunderstanding to the meaning of gender equality is responsible for personal and social tyranny. When entering EN3414, I had no knowledge of critical theories or how to use secondary sources to enhance my argument instead of carry it. I believed my heavy sentence phrasing to be an asset instead of a way to bury my argument beneath long thoughts. In EN3414, I was able to focus on taking my papers straight to my argument, to avoid useless sources or let them lead the paperinstead of letting my argument carry the essay. And because I have learned to revise and rewrite my papers as many times as possible before they are due, I can no acknowledge the parts of my essay that are too heavy or that need to be expanded upon. As I finish this course I feel my writingis clear and concise, stating an idea and following that argument throughout the paper. Before taking Critical Writing and Research Literary Studies, my writing, while rather average, was enough to enable success in composition and survey courses; however, it was not advanced enough for this class. The writings for composition or survey classes were organized, but lacked a depth or clear argument. Meanwhile, the British had an independent military service called the Royal Air Force (RAF). The RAF had a fighter command and a bomber command. Operation Sealion was the German plan to invade England. They gathered ships and barges in Northern France ports to transport their invasion forces across the English Channelby ferries. Along with this, three Luftflotte, (air fleets) were assigned to the operation. What the Germans needed was to neutralize the Royal Air Force and gain air superiority in order to successfully invade Great Britain. The task was given to Hermann GГ¶ring, Air Marshall of the German Luftwaffe. However, there was one downside to this operation; the RAF must be neutralized before autumn storms made the crossing of the English Channel impossible. The advantages and disadvantages of both the British and Germans played key components in The Battle of Britain. The British had too few high performing Spitfires and too many Hurricanes. They did not have enough trained ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Introductory Physics Personal Statement I began teaching as a graduate teaching assistant and project assistant at the University of Wisconsin Madison. As a teaching assistant, I conducted labs, discussion sessions, and some honor sessions for introductory physics courses in electromagnetism, thermal dynamics, optics, and modern physics. As a project assistant, my responsibilities included grading homework, discussing it with students, and prepare some homework solutions in quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, and an introductory physicscourse. In teaching physics, my main goal is to have my students actively thinking like physicists. I believe that the ability to think like a physicist is valuable to everyone, whether physics graduates, physics majors or non physics majors. And more importantly, the ability can be developed in physics classes, especially critical thinking and quantitative analysis. To better achieve this goal, I gear my approaches to different groups of students. In Physics 208, an introductory physics course taught by Prof. Mark Rzchowski for non physics ... In my discussion session, I emphasized the big picture and the physics behind the problems. I recapped the lectures and led group discussions to help the students understand the new material and the connection between the new one and the old ones before solving problems. I also encouraged the students to discuss the problems in groups, so that they could focus more on how to think and solve the problems rather than go through the notes to find the right formula. To help them understand the physics behind the formulas, I pushed them to explain not just what to do, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Critical Criticism Of The Merchant Of Venice After the Second World War and which was the worst of its chapters, the Holocaust ( the systematic mass slaughter of European Jews, along with some other minorities in Nazi concentration camps ), the world became sensitive, although it was only ephemerally, to be cognizant of what was to take to the extremes the Christian hatred of Jewsby their total extermination and genocide. It has been established the figure of six million European Jews who were eliminated in the Holocaustof Hitler systematically and methodically, forced from their homes, deprived of their belongings including their human dignity, deported and sent to die in concentration camps, just because of being Jews. In the immediate aftermath of the Holocaust, whenever they have represented The Merchant of Venice after World War II, the visions of the terrible slaughter have come to be remembered, in a context of... In this play, The Merchant of Venice, he combines tragedy and comedy which were the most dominant styles of literature of that time, this allowed freedom in terms of the interpretation, which created a wide range of personalities. Moody argues (1964) the established view of The Merchant of Venice goes something like this: The Merchant of Venice, then, is about judgement, redemption and mercy; the supersession in human history of the grim four thousand years of unalleviated justice by the era of love and mercy. It begins with usury and corrupt love; it ends with harmony and perfect love. En resumen, los dos motivos principales del argumento, el del prГ©stamo hecho por un judГo a un cristiano por una libra de carne, y el de una elecciГіn entre objetos de aparentemente distinto valor, son antiguos y recurrentes. • 48. Stereotyping In Anney Boatwright s Bastards Out Of Carolina As a society we often judge or form opinions based on others according to their gender, race and class; this is called stereotyping. Stereotyping involves making generalizations to describe or differentiate a group. Stereotypes are harmful to women and their experiences because they can cause bad decision making that can lead to negative outcomes. Anney Boatwright in Dorothy Allison s novel Bastards Out of Carolina is heavily burdened by the stereotype of being identified as white trash, which leads her to making unorthodox decisions regarding her family in hope of breaking free of this white trash stereotype. Stereotypes are destructive in the shaping of individuals lives, because they make us diregard differences between individuals. Since... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is evident that gender stereotypes limit women to culturally suitable gender roles and behaviors while denouncing those who decide not to conform to such roles or behaviors. In Ann Petry s The Street stereotypes deny Lutie of jobs that will provide financial stability for freedom. Lutie took the civil service exam and was still only able to get a lower level government job. Black people are stereotyped as being lazy and unintelligent which only left them with jobs such as shining shoes and washing clothes and scrubbing floors for years and years...the hard work. The dirty work. The work that pays the least. (70). Lutie is use to it though because she has no other option. Women are often stereotyped for only being good for sex. When Lutie applies for different jobs there is always an alter motif that involves sexual favors. Lutie throughout the novel was looked at as this sexual being in the eyes of men. For example when she auditions to become a singer for Mr. Crosse he says she has to go through six weeks of training that will cost her $125 dollars, which is money Lutie doesn t have and instead of offering a payment plan he decides to present her with the option of having sex with him. Also, how the Super is sexually obsessed with Lutie. These examples of the gender stereotype that women are only good for sex holds Lutie back, because in the eyes of men that is all she is...a sex object. These stereotypes brought on by society makes it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Comparison Of Bacon Lettuce And Tomato Sandwich the heart of everything we the people hold dear. To be able to have access to our bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich is our constitutional right. Wake up America. We are heading down a long dangerous road of cut and paste and the lying talking heads are going to work distorting information and telling us what to believe and what to eat. After all, why would we want to discover the truthfor ourselves, when we can just blindly accept the word of a few persons? It is high time we stop worrying about fake news. We know it s fake so there is no need to tweet about it. Our duty is to gather the facts, disregard the bias, and formulate our own opinions.
