How To Write An Essay On Honduras
Honduras is located in Central America between Nicaragua, Guatemala, and El Salvador. On
Honduras s northern border is the Caribbean Sea and on the southern border is the Gulf of Fonsecena
which connects to the Pacific Ocean. Honduras has about 112,000 square miles of land (This is about
82 percent the size of Arkansas). The terrain of Honduras is mostly mountainous with some lowland
areas near the coasts. Almost half of this terrain is forest while about 30 percent of it is used for
agricultural. Some of their natural resources include wood, copper, coal, gold, and fish. Natural
hazards include common but mild earthquakes and large susceptibility to flooding from its Northern

Essay on Samsung 5forces
Analyzing an Organization by Porter s Five Forces
Samsung mobile phone.
Abstract
This essay analyses the Samsung Mobile company by applying Porter s Five forces. Also each factor
will be compared with Apple and Nokia which are competitive companies in the mobile industry and
the strength of Samsung s strategic position will be demonstrated.
Introduction
Samsung Electronics, Apple and Nokia are the competitive mobile companies. To compare each
company s strategic position Samsung was chosen. Although many components are needed to make
mobile phones; semiconductors and the operating systems (OS) which companies use will be mainly
discussed because these factors have an effect on the function of a mobile phone. Therefore this essay

The power of suppliers
Samsung, Apple, and Nokia use a variety of suppliers for mobile components (Husso, 2011). As some
mobile components of Samsung Electronics are provided by their subsidiary company, it seems that
they have low power of supplier. Also, the subsidiary company which is Samsung Semiconductor was
ranked second in the number of sales throughout the world in 2012(Leachman et al, 2002). This
means that their semiconductors could be delivered for a low price in high quality. The most
interesting factor is that Apple and Nokia chose the Samsung Semiconductor for their supplier
(Leachman et al, 2002). Therefore Samsung Semiconductor could reduce the fixed cost as they
produce large amounts of semiconductors to provide to two large companies.
In the case of Operating System, except for Samsung, Apple and Nokia use their own company s OS
which is iOS and Symbian respectively. In the OS market, Android accounts for over 50% market
share which means they provide OS to many mobile companies (Fernandez,2009). Therefore
Samsung which uses Android OS has high level of power of Operating System

Media And The Media Bias
The commencement of mass media has allowed the world to incorporate politics in their daily lives
from television, newspapers, radio stations, and social media. Media is a powerful tool used to get
information out to the public especially in the United States and can influence the opinions of the
public on any issue. Media bias is when any mass media puts their own opinion in the news to
influence Americans and mostly uneducated voters to believe one side of a story they hear. The vast
amount of unreliable information available on the Internet, and its potential for misleading consumers,
has also been noted (Aliprandini, Isadora). Proving that the media does have a huge role in providing
misleading information to the public. When Americans automatically assume the information they
hear or see is correct, it becomes severely controversial to party polarization depending on
conservative or liberal views incorporated in the media. Not only is the media bias and misleading, the
media also wants to maximize its viewers and base their discussions and reports off of people s
interests by reporting what people want to hear, rather than giving all news equal amount of airtime so
they won t lose viewers and can profit more from the viewers interests. What Americans watch, read
or listen to everyday are bias on both sides of politics and allows reporters and media owners to slant
news stories in favor of particular groups or interests (Aliprandini,Isadora). The media is, indeed,

Inquisitor By Bernard Shaw
Inquisitor Analysis In the Inquisitor, by George Bernard Shaw argues that Joan should be charged with
death due to heresy because if the church doesn t, the church will be destroyed because heresy is
worse than anything else. Shaw uses ethical appeal, analogy, and emotional appeal to make the
audience feel ashamed if they don t burn her for her crime. First, Shaw argues that heresy is a very
serious issue that causes damage. He states, If you had seen what I have seen of heresy, you would not
think of it a light thing even in its most apparently harmless and even lovable and pious origin. Shaw
uses emotional appeal in referring to how we must see heresy in the same light as him. He feels as if it
is one of the worst crimes one could commit due to the damage it causes in society and the church.
Hersey brings out the wickedness out of people and goes against how one must live. The inquisitor
strongly suggests that we should live the way church ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The inquisitor states, For two hundred years the Holy Office has striven with these diabolical
madnesses; and it knows that they begin as always vain and ignorant persons setting up their own
judgment against the Church, and taking it upon themselves to be the interpreters of God s will. Shaw
uses ethical appeal in referring to helping the church to fight against heresy for God. The ethical
appeal highlights the credibility of the writer and emphasizes that we must help the church in order to
obey the divine power. It convinces the audience to see it as their duty to not let Joan go against the
church and against God. This convinces people that they are doing something good and to realize how
much of a negative impact heresy has. The ethical appeal influences the audience to complete their
duty as a pious person to vote for burning Joan so the church doesn t have to fight against heresy any

St. Vincent And The Grenadines Vs Guinea Essay
Case 2 5 St. Vincent and the Grenadines vs Guinea Facts: On November the 13th 1997, a St. Vincent s
and Grenadine agent filed a case against Guinea concerning the release of Marine Vessel Saiga as well
as its crew. The vessel had been taken into custody by the concerned authorities after being suspected
to be used for smuggling purposes. During its seizure, the vessel was in the process of refueling both
fishing vessels as well as normal vessels that were operating off the coast of Guinea. During the time
of its arrest, the vessel was drifting within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Sierra Leone.St. Vincent
and Guinea happen to be state parties of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the sea thus
making the tribunal to have a jurisdiction in this particular case. Procedure: Issues 1. Was the Saiga in
breach of violating customs laws while in the restricted economic zone of Guinea by refueling other
vessels in these waters? 2. Is Guinea in infringement of the UN rule, Article 292 for failing to not be in
line with the timely discharge of the vessel and crew upon getting the agreed bond? Holding: No Rule:
During its seizure by the concerned authorities, the vessel was not in any violation of the existing laws
that could link it to smuggling. The vessel was acting as a fishing fuel under the known facts that it
was only refueling other vessels in the sea area. Concurring opinion The International Tribunal for the
Law of the Sea made a decision in this case that

Complexity in American Education Control Essay
Complexity in American Education Control Often times, we hear the words complex and complicated
used interchangeably. In fact, out of curiosity, I highlighted the two words in Microsoft Word after
typing them in the previous sentence and looked at the synonyms provided. Oddly enough, complex is
synonymous with words such as multifaceted and intricate. Yet, when I pulled up the synonyms for
complicated, complex was the first word listed. What is complexity? How does it differ from
complicated issues? Complicated systems are exactly what Microsoft Word said. They are
multifaceted and intricate. They have several parts, but there is only one determined way for these
systems to work. This means that a change in one area will always create a ... Show more content on

Spring (2014) introduced the issue as a complicated question, but I think it is more complex. Who
controls American education? More importantly, who should control American education?
My obvious choice would be the teachers, but after much debate, I m not sure that is the best solution.
Whoever controls what should be taught in public schools also chooses what morals and behaviors to
teach students. I can remember as a child, teachers would tell my mother that they wished they had a
whole classroom of kids like me. Sure, I was bright. But more importantly, I was quiet and well
behaved. Not all teachers think this way, but a majority would rather have students to not speak or
move during class. Is that what we want the future of America to be? I don t know about you, but I
want to raise a generation that will stand for what they believe in, form their own opinions, and think
critically.
Don t get me wrong. I don t believe it is the intention of any teacher to actually constrain a child from
obtaining the education they want. But with the standards they have to meet and the laws in place, it
makes teaching easier to have cooperative students. As Ishmael says in Daniel Quinn s book, My
Ishmael, What one sees first is how far short real schooling falls from the ideal of young minds being
awakened. Teachers for the most part would be delighted to awaken young minds, but the system
within which they must work fundamentally frustrates

The Harmful Myth Of Asian Superiority
All Asian Americans are good at math, or at least that s what I heard. They are also good at anything
involving technology, science, and medicine. They study all the time, work really hard and live a
version of the American dream I never thought to dream of. Afterall they re Asian, their parents
wouldn t allow for anything less. In his article The Harmful Myth of Asian Superiority the ethnic
studies expert Ronald Takaki writes about the idea that Asian Americans are more successful than
other American minority groups. Takaki refutes this idea using reason and statistics to show that Asian
Americans still face some of the same hardships and barriers as every other racially defined group in
America. Takaki s word choice allows him manipulate statistics for his purpose of disproving the myth
of model minority. The words Takaki choses to use in his article both strengthen his ethos as an
educated Japanese American writer and weaken his argument against the model minority in terms of
both logos and pathos. The cunning use of words in paragraph ten allows Takaki to raise his reader s
concern for the well being of Asian refugees while remaining rather vague about whether or not the
financial state of said refugees and their families is actually an issue. This paragraph is composed of
only two sentences. In the first sentence Takaki writes that Hmong and Mien refugees from Laos have
unemployment rates that reach as high as 80 percent . Reading Takaki s article as someone who

The Real and Feigned Madness of Hamlet and Ophelia Essay...
In William Shakespeare s Hamlet, a kind of madness ultimately infects everyone, leading to an ending
in which almost every major character is dead. Two of these maddened characters are Hamlet and
Ophelia, who also share a love for each other. But though their irrational behavior is often similar and
their fates alike, one is truly mad while the other is not.
Both Hamlet and Ophelia act very strangely. Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, insults everyone around
him. He tells Ophelia he never loved her, calls her father a fishmonger, and in subtle ways calls his
mother a whore and her new husband a murderer. And Hamlet himself is driven to acts of murder,
from the unintentional stabbing of Polonius to the plotting that kills Rosencrantz and ... Show more

When Polonius tells Ophelia to repel Hamlet s advances, she promises to obey. And it is only after
their fathers are killed that Hamlet and Ophelia begin to act mad.
Both Hamlet and Ophelia are ultimately destroyed. Hamlet, whose quest was to prove the guilt of
Claudius no matter what the consequences, is murdered by Laertes in a plot concocted by the king as
he felt himself cornered. Ophelia drowns, perhaps willfully.
But Hamlet s madness is an act while Ophelia s is not. Though Hamlet considers suicide in his grief
after his father s death, his madness is part of a plot to snare Claudius for murder. Hamlets tells his
friend Horation, I perchance hereafter shall think meet / To put an antic disposition on (II.1.171 172).
And though Hamlet s behavior is crazy, others see that it is a performance. Polonius notices the
method / in t (II.2.203 204), and Claudius insists that what he spake, though it lacked form a little, /
Was not like madness (III.1.163 164). In contrast, Ophelia s madness is real. Her brother, Laertes,
mourns that a young maid s wits / Should be as mortal as an old man s life (IV.5.157 158) and calls
her behavior A document in madness (IV.5.174). And though the queen labels her death an accident,
her burial in sacred ground is seen by some as a sacrilege.
The play shows the danger of madness, both

Summary Of The Stranger By Albert Camus
My silent sustained reading book is The Stranger written by Albert Camus. It was first published by
Hamish Hamilton in 1946. Even though the story was written eight decades ago, the message Camus
was trying to convey is still pliable to current day.
The novel starts off with the narrator, Guy Meursault, just receiving news of his mother s passing and
her funeral that takes place the following day. Meursault shows no signs of remorse over losing his
own mother and even refuses to look at his own mother s body. Once the funeral was over the narrator
meets up with his former employee, who he takes to see a comedy movie and starts a relationship with
her. In the following days, Meursault assists his neighbor Raymond Sintès in exacting ... Show more

The story s protagonist is Guy Meursault, a Frenchman in his late thirties. While the protagonist is a
man, the antagonist is society itself. Society is the one who finds Meursault guilty, just because he
cannot grasp its composition. He finds it difficult to comprehend his own actions as wrong due to his
own logic of society. While the story takes place in Algeria, which is a country in North Africa, it feels
as if it could have taken place anywhere. In spite of the topic of the story, which is concerning death,
the tone of Camus writing makes it seem as if the narrator is uncaring and indifferent to the topic.
Throughout his mother s death and his neighbor s cruel acts Meursault doesn t feel anything about
these things; the author makes it appear that the protagonist is heartless and cold. The narrator seems
to have no reason not to believe Sintès story about his girlfriend and even helps him emotionally and
physically hurt her.
The point of view in the book is first person, which allows the audience to understand Meursault s
thoughts and opinions. We are able to hear that he feels no remorse for any of this actions and even
thinks of death as something trivial for it is part of everyday life. I feel that if the story wasn t in first
person the story would not be renown as a classic. For without the narrator s perspective Camus book
would not be known for describing the human condition. The central

The Role of Fashion Promotion Within the Fashion Industry
I am going to write about what the role of fashion promotion is within the fashion industry and discuss
how it might develop in the next five years. To do this I shall review what fashion promotion is by
defining it and finding out how, when and where it started. To understand what fashion promotion
really is in a contemporary context I shall broadly look at how it is used and what many forms it has
taken since the beginning up until the present day.
To look at how fashion promotion may develop in the next five years I shall analyse and critique

Before this, soirees took place in stores; chairs would be put out people would come and watch the
shows inside the shop; this still happens today for instance Topshop will put on a catwalk of their
latest collection inside their flagship store on Oxford Street.
However contemporary fashion shows are as much about being seen at the event as they are about
what is being shown on the catwalk. The audience wants to feel important and exclusive and the front
row seats show status. There is also more press coverage now about the clothes themselves, which is
the reason why designers make extreme and un wearable clothes. Current fashion participates in an
economic system that is developing very differently from its nineteenth century origins, which
pioneered the techniques of retail and advertising to promote the garment. Now the fashioned garment
circulates in a contemporary economy as part of a network of signs, of which the actual garment is but
one. (Bruzzi S. Church Gibson P. (eds). 2000. P.96)
We need to understand the fashion industry s cyclical nature in each historical period and its technical
development to see how fashion promotion has developed into the forms existing today. Changes in
women s influence and power, money supply, changing tastes and interests in sports, shapes, and
ongoing cultural issues and events such as terrorism and

George Washington was the first president of the united states, a war hero and also one of the founding

Constitution, this Constitution was known as the Republic of Texas. The third constitution was the
Constitution of 1845 ,this constitution was made when Texas had joined the Union (United States)
deciding not to be independent. The forth was the Constitution of 1861, this constitution was made

How Oxford Has Coped with the Demands of Modern-Day Tourism
We shall see in this essay how a city has coped with the many demands of modern day tourism and
maintained its position as a Mecca for millions of travelers. Today s travel and tourism industry has
grown into a global economic powerhouse whose combined direct and indirect impact on the world
economy is enormous, according to the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC). . ( Fuller,2014)
Fodor s travel guide says Oxford has perhaps the most famous university in the world . Since Oxford
University can traces it routes back to 1167 the city has been attracting people from across the globe
for centuries. The history of the city, largely forged by the university, has led to the need for other inter

of other destinations. Both public and private sectors have responded to the challenge.
In the City of Oxford there are many examples of hospitality and tourism, as seen by the constant
stream of visitors who crowd its streets at weekends throughout the year, striving to get the best view
of the historic number of colleges protruding onto every street. This is Oxford s prize possession that
sets it apart from other destinations in the UK and the world. However there are sub sectors that play a

Literary Devices In Donald Barthelme s The School
In the short story The School, written by Donald Barthelme, many different literary devices are being
utilize like order of events, phraseology, point of view etc. The literary device that stands out the most
in the short story The School is point of view. Barthelme uses point of view by making the teacher the
story teller which gives the story a different mood than it would if it was told from a distinct
perspective. Point of view is a position or perspective from which something is considered or
evaluated (Merriam Webster, n.d.)Barthelme s use of point of view leads to the interpretation of the
story in a totally unusual way which makes the story much less creepy than it should be.
The author of The School grabs the reader s attention at the beginning of the short story by using the
narrator s story, about the time when the children planted trees to teach them about growth, nature and
responsibility. All the kids had to plant their own little tree, but all the little trees ended dying, and as a
result they ended with little brown sticks instead. By using the word little when expressing the trees
and later the sticks the author is trying to convey a mood of depression and sensitivity. Barthelme is
trying to portray the image of a lot of small kids sad for the death of their small trees. The narrator
then proceeds to explain how before all the trees died all the snakes had died too due to a strike which
resulted on the boiler being off for days. The kids understood

Many women of color in low economic standing were pressured into having sterilization procedures.
These women were forced to make the life altering decision usually while they were on the table just
after delivering their child. Female sterilization of colored women at this time was equated to racial
genocide, as it drastically cut down the predicted birthrate. Repugnant as this was, many states were
chastised because they would fund these sterilizations but they would not support welfare programs to

Bell Jar Depression
While it is sad, it is interesting to see how depression can slowly break down an individual to someone
who feels nothing but apathy. For people who struggle with the illness, no happy thoughts can
changed how they perceive the life and the world around them. It s not as easy as getting a massage or
thinking happy thoughts to change their mood and take away all that sadness, emptiness, and all that
negative self talk. The Bell Jar is a contemplation of the despairing life of Esther Greenwood and her
descent into darkness. She personifies the actual mental struggle and the tumultuous life of the author,
Sylvia Plath who, at a very young age suffered from clinical depression. While many believed that

Differences Between The Obedience Experiment And The...
The Milgram Obedience Study was an experiment conducted by Stanley Milgram in 1963 to observe
how far people would obey instructions that resulted in harming another individual. The experiment
consisted of a learner engaging in a memory task and a teacher testing the learner on the task,
administering electrical shocks to the learner each time an incorrect answer was given; the electric
shocks started out small from 15 volts, labeled as SLIGHT SHOCK , all the way to 450 volts, labeled
as X X X of course, that was what the participant was told. The true purpose of the experiment was
not disclosed until after the experiment and the random selection of who would be the teacher or
learner was rigged so that the participant was always the teacher and the learner was always an actor.
The shocks, naturally, were never given to the learner , and the learner gave responses that were
scripted, both in answers to the questions and in responses to the shocks. Prior the experiment,
Milgram polled fourteen Yale University psychology major seniors to predict the behaviour out of a ...

Bally Total Fitness Marketing Audit Essay
Bally Total Fitness Marketing Audit
Bally Total Fitness is the largest, and only nationwide, commercial operator of fitness centers. Bally s

their total marketing program to see what was and was not working to increase business. The

United States. By the year 2010, this number is likely to grow to 50 million. This is due in large part to
the increasing awareness amongst the population of the importance of exercise to promote health and
wellness. This trend coupled with the major demographic shifts should produce an increased demand
for fitness services and products. Although Bally Total Fitness mainly targets the 18 49 year old range,
knowledge of a major trend should be brought into consideration. The graying of America is a trend in
the United States where the oldest segments of the population (45 65+) are growing fastest.

INTRODUCTION
This chapter identifies the main external influences on the UK market for private security and fire
protection, using the four headings of a PEST analysis: political, economic, social and technological.
Where such influences have more than one dimension, they are considered under the heading that is
considered to be the most relevant.
POLITICAL FACTORS
The Terrorist Threat
Precautions against terrorist attacks have been stepped up since the events of 11th September 2001,
and there is strong demand for security services and equipment in the public sector. The UK, and
especially London, has been on a high level of alert since the war in Iraq. Some of the UK s export

Neighbourhood Wardens provide a uniformed, semi official presence in residential areas, with the aim
of improving the local quality of life. They can provide community safety and assist with
environmental improvements and housing management. Street Wardens are similar to Neighbourhood
Wardens, but they have a greater emphasis on environmental problems, such as litter, graffiti and dog
fouling. Their role is also to deter anti social behaviour, to reduce the fear of crime and to foster social
inclusion.
Minimum Wage and Working Time Legislation
The National Minimum Wage was introduced in April 1999, and a European
Directive on working hours and holidays came into force in October 1998.
The UK was able to introduce a voluntary opt out of the 48 hour week, but the UK regulations are to
be tightened and opinions seem to be divided as to whether this is to the long term benefit or detriment
of the guarding sector.
Outsourcing of Police and Public Sector Security Work

There are numerous motivational theories that have been discussed and tested. Different students
unknowingly, or sometimes knowingly, utilize different theories since no two students are alike. Many
teachers acknowledge that different students are motivated by different things, whether it be intrinsic
extrinsic, self efficacy or interest. Not only can gender and age differences affect motivation, but the
student s self efficacy and level of goal setting also affect the student s motivation. As a teacher, it has
been noted that certain students are motivated to do certain tasks while others are not. In order to
learn, students need to be motivated. One of the most difficult challenges of teaching is fighting the
battle of motivating the students, which then leads to supporting them and helping them motivate
themselves.
Textbook Summary
The textbook definition for motivation is the inner state that energizes, directs, and sustains behavior.
(Ormrod, 2015, p. 186) It goes on to state that humans usually tend to work with a purpose.
Motivation not only influences the activities that learners choose, but it also affects the degree to
which they engage in those activities (Ormrod, 2015, p. 186). While teachers do play a big part in
motivating students, motivation also has to come from within the students. In order for students to feel
motivated, they must have certain primary

Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allen Poe is about when a plague strikes a kingdom somewhere in
Europe. The Prince decides that he can protect himself from this plague by securing himself in his

fortunate at the end of the story. The three literary devices that will be discussed are the symbol, tone,

Capital Budgeting Is An Investment Appraisal Essay
Capital budgeting is an investment appraisal, and is the single most important decision made by a
company s finance and exec team. It is the planning process used to determine whether an
organization s long term venture(s) are worth the investment through the firm s debt, equity or
retained earnings. One of the primary goals is to increase the value of the firm to the shareholders. The
process of capital budgeting involves analyzing, evaluating and deciding whether resources should be
allocated to a project (Lowengrub session 6 slides) . Several methods to evaluate incremental cash
flows from each possible investment option.
Net present value, expressed as is the method used to compare the present value of cash inflows to
cash outflows. A positive NPV specifies that the projected incomes from the investment surpasses the
estimated costs. Typically, in this case, a positive NVP will show a good ROI and if vice versa, will
yield in a loss, therefore a project should be accepted with a result of a positive NPV.
The Internal Rate of Return compares the firms cost of capital to the rate of return that makes the net
cash flows from a project equal to the project s cost (Lowengrub, 2016). The IRR is the interest rate at
which the NPV of all the cash flows from a project equal zero. If the internal rate of return of an
investment/project surpasses a company s required rate of return, that project could be accepted.
The modified internal rate of return is a

Time In The Play Our Town
If a book were to tell someone s life, how could you tell if it was the next day or the next year?
Usually authors have different strategies to give readers an idea of how much time has passed.
However, this is especially harder in plays because the perception of time to readers is mainly
dependent on the verbal script of the characters. In the play Our Town by Thornton Wilder, his usage
of the concept of time is incorporated by major life events such as their life as children, the wedding
and a funeral with the help of the stage manager and the title of the acts.
To begin with the play is essentially about the lives of two neighboring families, the title of the first
act Daily lives is appropriate and telling of the beginning of the play. In the beginning of Act one it
basically introduces the readers to the characters . The families are getting their kids ready for school
and the mothers meet with each other. The use of school and their morning routine ... Show more

The major life events are summed up that way because that s what life in the town consisted of
growing up, getting married then die. The play on time by the author truly shows how many take their
time alive for granted and how quickly it goes by. Such as when she chose to relive a day and she
noticed how everyone wasn t really taking everything in and enjoying themselves. The stage manager
was the key tool in translating the authors perspective of time to the readers and the acts being few
kind of shows how quickly and empty her life was. In a nutshell she was just a young girl, then got
married and died. The message I personally got from the play was to live life to the fullest because I
personally wouldn t want three relatively short acts to describe my life from start to

Margaret Eleanor Atwood popularly known as Margaret Atwood is a Canadian writer, poet, essayist,
literary critic and an environmental activist. She is has been awarded a number of prizes including the
Booker Prize, Arthur C. Clarke Award, the Governor General s Award, etc. In Violent Duality: A Study
of Margaret Atwood, Sherrill Grace wrote that Atwood s works are the pull towards art on one hand
and towards life on the other . She further explains that Atwood has always been well aware of her
subjects irrespective of its gender or type and thus always worked within them. One of the most
remarkable features of Atwood s poetry is the duality which is presented through separation, says The
Art of Margaret Atwood: Essays in Criticism. Atwood s work beautifully elaborated the idea of
alienation and the need for human communication. She tries to draw the attention of the audience
towards the need of a balanced society or a communicating structure for humans. The suffering in her
works, especially around the female character, was the result of her experience with the women who
generally suffered in some on the other way, she explained. Although she started as a political writer

Descriptive Essay On A House In Childhood
Driving to Long Prairie, on the right side of the road, up a hill with a long, paved driveway will be a
house to the left. This house is two stories with a basement. The first time I saw it, the house had a
worn out, light tan vinyl siding with faded, dark red shutters from years of Minnesota weather. At the
end of the driveway was a garage that resembled the houses color. To the right of the driveway was a
large stone wall that was overrun with wild grape vines. In the middle of the wall was a stairway that
leads to an old, rundown playhouse. Also, there was a large, gray brick shed further away. Beyond the
house are the woods, littered with pine needles from the rows of trees my grandpa planted when he
moved there. The whole area is surrounded by the overpowering smell of pine, and the silence the
woods carries; it brings a calming, peaceful sensation to me. As the years have gone on, the house and
I have aged, grown, and changed together. Walking up the cracked cement steps, I enter the house
through a wood lacquer door. The smell that first hits my nose is the cigarette smoke from Grandpa.
Once inside, to my right, is the dining room that is typically filled with food and laughter. During the
holidays we gather there and fill our bellies with the food that we have all brought, and stuff ourselves
with the sweets that grandma has baked. To the left as I enter the door is the kitchen which is always
warm from the oven being used constantly with cooks bustling about like bees. If a turkey or ham was
not in the oven, there are cookies or brownies or my personal favorite, rhubarb pie. I would salivate
anticipating the sweet, tart taste to hit my lips, and I would devour it with greed. Straight ahead of the
entrance is the basement door. The basement steps are simply the wood floor beams that were never
completed. The basement was their storage space and where their appliances were such as their water
heater, which gave off a soft hum. The basement had the faint smell of vinegar because my
grandparents liked to pickle, so they had shelves in the basement cluttered with jars of various things
that they pickled. Going back up the stairs and through the kitchen is the carpeted living room. The far

How to Improve Reading Comprehension How to improve one s reading comprehension? First, one
must know what reading compression is, plain and simple it is the act of understanding what is being

group of words that is about to be read. Move the finger in an irregular manner from the beginning of
the sentence to the end. This helps the reader to focus on reading groups of words instead of
individually. Another good tip to become a better reader is the card trick. Get an index card and place
it over the first sentence. Then slowly begin moving it in a downwards, covering what was just read.
This helps the reader to pay attention on what was just read since they will not have the opportunity to
revisit the words. After the reader has finished, determine what was learned. Give the reader a chance
to share what they have read in pairs or small groups. Then have them quiz themselves on the main
points of the material. Tell a friend about it. By doing this, the reader should try to recall the important
information in their own words. This will help them to remember and give a deeper insight into the
topic. If both people have read the same material, the friend could give good feedback to ensure that

best of both worlds. Those who prefer to speak to a living breathing person have that ability, while
those who wish to have the capability of conducting their transaction without human interference have
their prayers answered.
In an increasingly fast paced world the automated customer servant can be a godsend. Yes, there are
problems with the system. There are bugs that through new technology and innovation will hopefully
be worked out. How many people thought the first automobile was nothing more than a confounded
contraption that was just as likely to blow up on you as get you where you wanted to go? I would
imagine there were thousands, even millions of people who felt this way. We live in an imperfect
world and in this imperfect world no new innovations are error free, and it is a given that most people
resist change. However, with most people looking for ways to save time so that they can squeeze in
that thirty minute workout or make it to their oldest sons baseball game, the automated attendant
innovation is one of the best options available. In

This leads both Dana and Alice to conclude with their similar appreance that Rufus wants Dana to talk
to but wants Alice only for sex. This Later takes a toll for Alice as in the Rope we find Alice commits

An Examination Into The Respective Proofs Of St. Aquinas
An Examination into the Respective Proofs of St. Anselm and St. Aquinas During the Medieval
Period, philosophers shifted their focus primarily to proving the existence of God, as well as other
religious tenets. Two Saints of the Catholic Church, St. Anselm and St. Thomas Aquinas, developed
their own respective proofs for the existence of God. These proofs have gained fame over the
subsequent centuries and still face debate and comparison today. Although both St. Anselm and St.
Thomas Aquinas offer proofs for the existence of God, the proofs differ drastically due to the distinct
argumentative methods utilized by each author, as well as the differing overall strengths and
weaknesses each proof yields. To begin comparing the proofs, one must first state them. St. Anselm s
proof is most clearly described by defining God as that than which no greater can be conceived
(Melchert, 260). With this definition in mind, one can contemplate St. Augustine s Great Chain of
Being and realize that existence gives something more being, or more greatness, than non existence
(Melchert, 261). It follows, then, that we grasp an idea of God, which would be greater if it actually
existed, therefore it (our idea of God) exists. Anselm s definition of God and Augustine s theory of the
Great Chain of Being are the only requirements for Anselm s proof of the existence of God to work.
St. Thomas Aquinas actually posits five separate proofs, but due to length constraints, this paper will

The Anatomical Structure Of Different Organelles
Analyze the anatomical structure of ten different organelles in the cell and their respective functions.
The cell s nonmembranous organelles include the cytoskeleton, microvilli, centrioles, cilia, ribosomes,
and proteasomes. Membranous organelles include the endoplasmic reticulum, the Golgi apparatus,
lysosomes, peroxisomes, and mitochondria.
Organelle Location and function
Cytoskeleton Serves as the cell s skeleton. It is an interior protein system that gives the cytoplasm
quality and adaptability. The cytoskeleton of all cells is made of microfilaments, halfway fibers, and
microtubules. Muscle cells contain these cytoskeletal parts in addition to thick fibers. The fibers and
microtubules of the cytoskeleton frame a dynamic system whose ceaseless rearrangement influences
cell shape and capacity.
Microvilli Numerous cells have little, finger formed projections of the plasma film on their uncovered
surfaces. These projections, called microvilli (solitary, microvillus), significantly increment the
surface territory of the phone presented to the extracellular environment. Likewise, they cover the
surfaces of cells that are effectively engrossing materials from the extracellular liquid, for example,
the cells coating the stomach related tract. Microvilli have broad associations with the cytoskeleton. A
center of small scale fibers hardens each microvillus and grapples it to the cytoskeleton at the terminal
web.

Why Are Myths Still Relevant To Today
Myths still endure today, because it sets a moral cod, explains natural phenomenon, and entertains the
reader. One reason mythology sill endures is because it sets a moral code for future people to follow.
For example in the story Achene, the wise goddess Athena turns Arachne into a arachnid, because
Arachne was being very cocky, arrogant, and rude, cause Athena to kick Arachne off her high horse .
Athena tells Arachne to live on wicked girl, live on and spin you and your decedents (Coolidge 51). A
second reason mythology is still relevant is because is explains natural phenomenon. For example in
the story Pandora, Curiosity truly kills the cat because Pandora opens a do not open box, which
releases all the terrible things in this world,

Breaking Bread Project Analysis
During this semester s service learning project, I chose to serve at a community organization called
Church On Wheels, Breaking Bread Soup Kitchen. Every night Monday through Friday Breaking
Bread opens its doors to the community and provides a meal at no cost. Their mission statement is
simple: To carry the gospel of the Lord through feeding the hungry and helping those in need. With
this Christ like love to His people, every night employees and volunteers come together to provide a
meal that does not only feed them physically but nourishes the soul of everyone that enters the doors.
Within the city of Midland, Texas you will find a diverse culture and community. Due to the recent oil
boom, many families found themselves struggling to put a meal on the table. Breaking Bread saw the
need in the community to open the doors every night to see that no one would go hungry in our town.
With a commitment to see that the poor and needy are served with the love of Christ. On any given
night you can expect to find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the days that I served I worked with their head chef Mari and a small group of volunteers from
local groups. The agenda that day was cleaning and organizing the pantry and blessing closet, as well
as lending a hand in the kitchen. Every day they open their doors to volunteers at 3pm and we work to
prepare the dinner and help Mr. Robert and his wife Grandma Betty in the dining room. Within the
kitchen, duties range from food prep, clean up, and serving people that come through the line. In the
dining hall, Grandma Betty runs a tight ship. We assisted her with prepping every table, the drink
station, and assisting people as they exited the line. As dinner progressed, we worked to walk table to
table picking up trash for diners, fellowshipping, and offer refills on their drinks. Overall, my favorite
portion of service is the dining hall. It is a blessing to serve others with a kind heart and

Portrayal Of Women In Hamlet
Women are truly the backbones of society. They continue to bloom and flourish, helping to further
grow and expand communities and the world, but are often cast to the shadows because of stereotypes
placed on them dating from centuries ago. It is no secret that Shakespearean plays set basis for these
stereotypes, but because of the world views on women s rights in Shakespeare s time, his female
characters were allowed to break free from the confines of society. In Shakespeare s most famous play,
Hamlet, the two leading ladies, Ophelia and Gertrude, break free from the standard by showcasing
various acts of defiance, choosing their own paths and _______________________________.
Shakespearean plays often portray women as fragile, negligible and untrustworthy people. Because of
the dynamics of Hamlet, the women in the play closely fit the accepted stereotype but, prove to be the
strongest characters written in this tragic tragedy by defying the restrictions placed upon them.
Although it may not be clear to the naked eye, the women in Hamlet display certain acts of
disobedience through small deeds. Ophelia, Hamlet s love interest in the play, showcases her lack of
obedience and wit through two separate scenes. She first portrays these rebellious characteristics when
she first tells her father of the relationship she has with Hamlet. Many people would argue that this
does not show any of Ophelia s stray from the norm and some may argue that this scene would more
portray a father

In February 2015, a video of Ray Rice, the face of the Baltimore Ravens, beating his then fiancée
unconscious in a hotel elevator went viral. Following his arrest and indictment on aggravated assault
charges, he entered a pre trial program for first offenders, usually intended for perpetrators of
victimless crimes. Suspended from play indefinitely, Rice won an appeal to the NFL, and was
reinstated, available for hiring should any team be willing to go near him.
The Carolina Panthers Greg Hardy has been caught brutalizing his ex girlfriend four times. His
punishment was a 10 game suspension. Most recently, John Bowlen, son of Denver Broncos owner
Pat Bowlen, was arrested in July after his girlfriend called 911, begging for help. Significant criticism

Also each factor will be compared with Apple and Nokia which are competitive companies in the mobile industry and the strength of Samsung s strategic position will be demonstrated. Introduction Samsung Electronics, Apple and Nokia are the competitive mobile companies. To compare each company s strategic position Samsung was chosen. As some mobile components of Samsung Electronics are provided by their subsidiary company, it seems that they have low power of supplier. Also, the subsidiary company which is Samsung Semiconductor was ranked second in the number of sales throughout the world in 2012(Leachman et al, 2002). This means that their semiconductors could be delivered for a low price in high quality. The most interesting factor is that Apple and Nokia chose the Samsung Semiconductor for their supplier (Leachman et al, 2002). Therefore Samsung Semiconductor could reduce the fixed cost as they produce large amounts of semiconductors to provide to two large companies. In the case of Operating System, except for Samsung, Apple and Nokia use their own company s OS which is iOS and Symbian respectively. In the OS market, Android accounts for over 50% market share which means they provide OS to many mobile companies (Fernandez,2009). Therefore Samsung which uses Android OS has high level of power of Operating System ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Media And The Media Bias The commencement of mass media has allowed the world to incorporate politics in their daily lives from television, newspapers, radio stations, and social media. Media is a powerful tool used to get information out to the public especially in the United States and can influence the opinions of the public on any issue. Media bias is when any mass media puts their own opinion in the news to influence Americans and mostly uneducated voters to believe one side of a story they hear. The vast amount of unreliable information available on the Internet, and its potential for misleading consumers, has also been noted (Aliprandini, Isadora). Proving that the media does have a huge role in providing misleading information to the public. When Americans automatically assume the information they hear or see is correct, it becomes severely controversial to party polarization depending on conservative or liberal views incorporated in the media. Not only is the media bias and misleading, the media also wants to maximize its viewers and base their discussions and reports off of people s interests by reporting what people want to hear, rather than giving all news equal amount of airtime so they won t lose viewers and can profit more from the viewers interests. What Americans watch, read or listen to everyday are bias on both sides of politics and allows reporters and media owners to slant news stories in favor of particular groups or interests (Aliprandini,Isadora). The media is, indeed, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Inquisitor By Bernard Shaw Inquisitor Analysis In the Inquisitor, by George Bernard Shaw argues that Joan should be charged with death due to heresy because if the church doesn t, the church will be destroyed because heresy is worse than anything else. Shaw uses ethical appeal, analogy, and emotional appeal to make the audience feel ashamed if they don t burn her for her crime. First, Shaw argues that heresy is a very serious issue that causes damage. He states, If you had seen what I have seen of heresy, you would not think of it a light thing even in its most apparently harmless and even lovable and pious origin. Shaw uses emotional appeal in referring to how we must see heresy in the same light as him. He feels as if it is one of the worst crimes one could commit due to the damage it causes in society and the church. Hersey brings out the wickedness out of people and goes against how one must live. The inquisitor states, For two hundred years the Holy Office has striven with these diabolical madnesses; and it knows that they begin as always vain and ignorant persons setting up their own judgment against the Church, and taking it upon themselves to be the interpreters of God s will. Shaw uses ethical appeal in referring to helping the church to fight against heresy for God. The ethical appeal highlights the credibility of the writer and emphasizes that we must help the church in order to obey the divine power. It convinces the audience to see it as their duty to not let Joan go against the church and against God. This convinces people that they are doing something good and to realize how much of a negative impact heresy has. St. Vincent And The Grenadines Vs Guinea Essay Case 2 5 St. Vincent and the Grenadines vs Guinea Facts: On November the 13th 1997, a St. Vincent s and Grenadine agent filed a case against Guinea concerning the release of Marine Vessel Saiga as well as its crew. The vessel had been taken into custody by the concerned authorities after being suspected to be used for smuggling purposes. During its seizure, the vessel was in the process of refueling both fishing vessels as well as normal vessels that were operating off the coast of Guinea. During the time of its arrest, the vessel was drifting within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Sierra Leone.St. Vincent and Guinea happen to be state parties of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the sea thus making the tribunal to have a jurisdiction in this particular case. Procedure: Issues 1. Was the Saiga in breach of violating customs laws while in the restricted economic zone of Guinea by refueling other vessels in these waters? 2. Is Guinea in infringement of the UN rule, Article 292 for failing to not be in line with the timely discharge of the vessel and crew upon getting the agreed bond? Holding: No Rule: During its seizure by the concerned authorities, the vessel was not in any violation of the existing laws that could link it to smuggling. The vessel was acting as a fishing fuel under the known facts that it was only refueling other vessels in the sea area. Spring (2014) introduced the issue as a complicated question, but I think it is more complex. Who controls American education? More importantly, who should control American education? My obvious choice would be the teachers, but after much debate, I m not sure that is the best solution. Whoever controls what should be taught in public schools also chooses what morals and behaviors to teach students. I can remember as a child, teachers would tell my mother that they wished they had a whole classroom of kids like me. Sure, I was bright. But more importantly, I was quiet and well behaved. Not all teachers think this way, but a majority would rather have students to not speak or move during class. Is that what we want the future of America to be? I don t know about you, but I want to raise a generation that will stand for what they believe in, form their own opinions, and think critically. Don t get me wrong. I don t believe it is the intention of any teacher to actually constrain a child from obtaining the education they want. But with the standards they have to meet and the laws in place, it makes teaching easier to have cooperative students. They study all the time, work really hard and live a version of the American dream I never thought to dream of. Afterall they re Asian, their parents wouldn t allow for anything less. In his article The Harmful Myth of Asian Superiority the ethnic studies expert Ronald Takaki writes about the idea that Asian Americans are more successful than other American minority groups. Takaki refutes this idea using reason and statistics to show that Asian Americans still face some of the same hardships and barriers as every other racially defined group in America. Takaki s word choice allows him manipulate statistics for his purpose of disproving the myth of model minority. The words Takaki choses to use in his article both strengthen his ethos as an educated Japanese American writer and weaken his argument against the model minority in terms of both logos and pathos. The cunning use of words in paragraph ten allows Takaki to raise his reader s concern for the well being of Asian refugees while remaining rather vague about whether or not the financial state of said refugees and their families is actually an issue. This paragraph is composed of only two sentences. In the first sentence Takaki writes that Hmong and Mien refugees from Laos have unemployment rates that reach as high as 80 percent . • 10. The Real and Feigned Madness of Hamlet and Ophelia Essay... In William Shakespeare s Hamlet, a kind of madness ultimately infects everyone, leading to an ending in which almost every major character is dead. Two of these maddened characters are Hamlet and Ophelia, who also share a love for each other. But though their irrational behavior is often similar and their fates alike, one is truly mad while the other is not. Both Hamlet and Ophelia act very strangely. Hamlet, the prince of Denmark, insults everyone around him. He tells Ophelia he never loved her, calls her father a fishmonger, and in subtle ways calls his mother a whore and her new husband a murderer. And Hamlet himself is driven to acts of murder, from the unintentional stabbing of Polonius to the plotting that kills Rosencrantz and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Polonius tells Ophelia to repel Hamlet s advances, she promises to obey. And it is only after their fathers are killed that Hamlet and Ophelia begin to act mad. Both Hamlet and Ophelia are ultimately destroyed. Hamlet, whose quest was to prove the guilt of Claudius no matter what the consequences, is murdered by Laertes in a plot concocted by the king as he felt himself cornered. Ophelia drowns, perhaps willfully. But Hamlet s madness is an act while Ophelia s is not. Though Hamlet considers suicide in his grief after his father s death, his madness is part of a plot to snare Claudius for murder. Hamlets tells his friend Horation, I perchance hereafter shall think meet / To put an antic disposition on (II.1.171 172). And though Hamlet s behavior is crazy, others see that it is a performance. Polonius notices the method / in t (II.2.203 204), and Claudius insists that what he spake, though it lacked form a little, / Was not like madness (III.1.163 164). Even though the story was written eight decades ago, the message Camus was trying to convey is still pliable to current day. The novel starts off with the narrator, Guy Meursault, just receiving news of his mother s passing and her funeral that takes place the following day. Meursault shows no signs of remorse over losing his own mother and even refuses to look at his own mother s body. Once the funeral was over the narrator meets up with his former employee, who he takes to see a comedy movie and starts a relationship with her. The story s protagonist is Guy Meursault, a Frenchman in his late thirties. While the protagonist is a man, the antagonist is society itself. Society is the one who finds Meursault guilty, just because he cannot grasp its composition. He finds it difficult to comprehend his own actions as wrong due to his own logic of society. While the story takes place in Algeria, which is a country in North Africa, it feels as if it could have taken place anywhere. In spite of the topic of the story, which is concerning death, the tone of Camus writing makes it seem as if the narrator is uncaring and indifferent to the topic. Throughout his mother s death and his neighbor s cruel acts Meursault doesn t feel anything about these things; the author makes it appear that the protagonist is heartless and cold. The narrator seems to have no reason not to believe Sintès story about his girlfriend and even helps him emotionally and physically hurt her. The point of view in the book is first person, which allows the audience to understand Meursault s thoughts and opinions. We are able to hear that he feels no remorse for any of this actions and even thinks of death as something trivial for it is part of everyday life. I feel that if the story wasn t in first person the story would not be renown as a classic. For without the narrator s perspective Camus book would not be known for describing the human condition. The Role of Fashion Promotion Within the Fashion Industry I am going to write about what the role of fashion promotion is within the fashion industry and discuss how it might develop in the next five years. To do this I shall review what fashion promotion is by defining it and finding out how, when and where it started. To understand what fashion promotion really is in a contemporary context I shall broadly look at how it is used and what many forms it has taken since the beginning up until the present day. Before this, soirees took place in stores; chairs would be put out people would come and watch the shows inside the shop; this still happens today for instance Topshop will put on a catwalk of their latest collection inside their flagship store on Oxford Street. However contemporary fashion shows are as much about being seen at the event as they are about what is being shown on the catwalk. The audience wants to feel important and exclusive and the front row seats show status. There is also more press coverage now about the clothes themselves, which is the reason why designers make extreme and un wearable clothes. Current fashion participates in an economic system that is developing very differently from its nineteenth century origins, which pioneered the techniques of retail and advertising to promote the garment. Now the fashioned garment circulates in a contemporary economy as part of a network of signs, of which the actual garment is but one. (Bruzzi S. Church Gibson P. (eds). 2000. • 20. Literary Devices In Donald Barthelme s The School In the short story The School, written by Donald Barthelme, many different literary devices are being utilize like order of events, phraseology, point of view etc. The literary device that stands out the most in the short story The School is point of view. Barthelme uses point of view by making the teacher the story teller which gives the story a different mood than it would if it was told from a distinct perspective. Point of view is a position or perspective from which something is considered or evaluated (Merriam Webster, n.d.)Barthelme s use of point of view leads to the interpretation of the story in a totally unusual way which makes the story much less creepy than it should be. The author of The School grabs the reader s attention at the beginning of the short story by using the narrator s story, about the time when the children planted trees to teach them about growth, nature and responsibility. All the kids had to plant their own little tree, but all the little trees ended dying, and as a result they ended with little brown sticks instead. By using the word little when expressing the trees and later the sticks the author is trying to convey a mood of depression and sensitivity. Barthelme is trying to portray the image of a lot of small kids sad for the death of their small trees. The narrator then proceeds to explain how before all the trees died all the snakes had died too due to a strike which resulted on the boiler being off for days. The kids understood ... June Laves One of the biggest issues facing women in American society today has been an issue bouncing around in politics for decades: reproductive rights. Women can never have equal opportunity to men without equal opportunity to make their own decisions about their bodies. Reproductive rights for women not only include the right to abort a pregnancy, but it also involves any choice a woman may make concerning her body. She must have the right to choose when she wants to get pregnant, choose when she wants to have sex, have easy access to information about her body and reproductive system, as well as access to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many women of color in low economic standing were pressured into having sterilization procedures. These women were forced to make the life altering decision usually while they were on the table just after delivering their child. Female sterilization of colored women at this time was equated to racial genocide, as it drastically cut down the predicted birthrate. Repugnant as this was, many states were chastised because they would fund these sterilizations but they would not support welfare programs to support these same families. Women should be able to make their own decisions about their bodies, especially when it comes to their sexual identity. Women should be able to decide whether or not they want to carry a child, and those who argue that women who deny motherhood are not listening to the women who argue for reproductive rights. Women need the power to control their bodies because that is the epitome of owning the power to be considered an equal in society. Women would not end up in abusive situations concerning their bodies if information and prevention were more readily available. With knowledge comes power, and that is proven in every argument through history. Argument for reproductive rights becomes a national topic every time the presidential race rolls around. ... Research On Educational Psychology Assignment Barbara Jones EDU 614 Dr. C 2 February 2015 Research in Educational Psychology Assignment Topic There are numerous motivational theories that have been discussed and tested. Different students unknowingly, or sometimes knowingly, utilize different theories since no two students are alike. Many teachers acknowledge that different students are motivated by different things, whether it be intrinsic extrinsic, self efficacy or interest. Not only can gender and age differences affect motivation, but the student s self efficacy and level of goal setting also affect the student s motivation. As a teacher, it has been noted that certain students are motivated to do certain tasks while others are not. In order to learn, students need to be motivated. One of the most difficult challenges of teaching is fighting the battle of motivating the students, which then leads to supporting them and helping them motivate themselves. Textbook Summary The textbook definition for motivation is the inner state that energizes, directs, and sustains behavior. (Ormrod, 2015, p. 186) It goes on to state that humans usually tend to work with a purpose. Motivation not only influences the activities that learners choose, but it also affects the degree to which they engage in those activities (Ormrod, 2015, p. 186). While teachers do play a big part in motivating students, motivation also has to come from within the students. In order for students to feel motivated, they must have certain primary ... It is the planning process used to determine whether an organization s long term venture(s) are worth the investment through the firm s debt, equity or retained earnings. One of the primary goals is to increase the value of the firm to the shareholders. The process of capital budgeting involves analyzing, evaluating and deciding whether resources should be allocated to a project (Lowengrub session 6 slides) . Net present value, expressed as is the method used to compare the present value of cash inflows to cash outflows. A positive NPV specifies that the projected incomes from the investment surpasses the estimated costs. Typically, in this case, a positive NVP will show a good ROI and if vice versa, will yield in a loss, therefore a project should be accepted with a result of a positive NPV. The Internal Rate of Return compares the firms cost of capital to the rate of return that makes the net cash flows from a project equal to the project s cost (Lowengrub, 2016). The IRR is the interest rate at which the NPV of all the cash flows from a project equal zero. • 42. An Examination Into The Respective Proofs Of St. Aquinas An Examination into the Respective Proofs of St. Anselm and St. Aquinas During the Medieval Period, philosophers shifted their focus primarily to proving the existence of God, as well as other religious tenets. Two Saints of the Catholic Church, St. Anselm and St. Thomas Aquinas, developed their own respective proofs for the existence of God. These proofs have gained fame over the subsequent centuries and still face debate and comparison today. Although both St. Anselm and St. Thomas Aquinas offer proofs for the existence of God, the proofs differ drastically due to the distinct argumentative methods utilized by each author, as well as the differing overall strengths and weaknesses each proof yields. To begin comparing the proofs, one must first state them. St. Anselm s proof is most clearly described by defining God as that than which no greater can be conceived (Melchert, 260). With this definition in mind, one can contemplate St. Augustine s Great Chain of Being and realize that existence gives something more being, or more greatness, than non existence (Melchert, 261). It follows, then, that we grasp an idea of God, which would be greater if it actually existed, therefore it (our idea of God) exists. Anselm s definition of God and Augustine s theory of the Great Chain of Being are the only requirements for Anselm s proof of the existence of God to work. St. Thomas Aquinas actually posits five separate proofs, but due to length constraints, this paper will only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Anatomical Structure Of Different Organelles Analyze the anatomical structure of ten different organelles in the cell and their respective functions. The cell s nonmembranous organelles include the cytoskeleton, microvilli, centrioles, cilia, ribosomes, and proteasomes. Membranous organelles include the endoplasmic reticulum, the Golgi apparatus, lysosomes, peroxisomes, and mitochondria. Organelle Location and function Cytoskeleton Serves as the cell s skeleton. It is an interior protein system that gives the cytoplasm quality and adaptability. The cytoskeleton of all cells is made of microfilaments, halfway fibers, and microtubules. Muscle cells contain these cytoskeletal parts in addition to thick fibers. The fibers and microtubules of the cytoskeleton frame a dynamic system whose ceaseless rearrangement influences cell shape and capacity. Microvilli Numerous cells have little, finger formed projections of the plasma film on their uncovered surfaces. These projections, called microvilli (solitary, microvillus), significantly increment the surface territory of the phone presented to the extracellular environment. Likewise, they cover the surfaces of cells that are effectively engrossing materials from the extracellular liquid, for example, the cells coating the stomach related tract. Microvilli have broad associations with the cytoskeleton. A center of small scale fibers hardens each microvillus and grapples it to the cytoskeleton at the terminal web. They continue to bloom and flourish, helping to further grow and expand communities and the world, but are often cast to the shadows because of stereotypes placed on them dating from centuries ago.
