Timothy Mcveigh Case Summary
Case Summary.
The Oklahoma City Bomber: Timothy McVeigh. Mass murderer, Timothy McVeigh committed the
largest crime involving mass murder in the history of America by the Oklahoma City Bombing that
took the lives of a total of 168 people. During the Spring of April in 1995, A rental truck from Ryder
drove into a federal building parking lot known as Alfred P. Murrah. The driver of the truck got out
and left walking in a casual manner. A few minutes after the driver left the truck, the truck blew up
and became a fireball. With enough blasting power to cause destruction to the building and leaving
168 people dead. There were 19 children, along with infants in the daycare part of the building was
included in that number among the dead. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were discovered to belong to a right wing based survivalist
group located in Michigan. ON the *the of August, Michael Fortier, who had knowledge of McVeigh s
plan concerning the bombing Of the Oklahoma Federal Building, agreed to give testimony against
both Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols in exchange for a lighter jail sentence. Both Timothy
McVeigh along with Terry Nichols had received indictments on murder charges as well as using
explosives in an unlawful manner. McVeigh s ideology changed from hating governments that were
foreign communists to a lack of trust in the United States government with Bill Clinton being the
President during that time frame. Both McVeigh and Nichols along with their members became
radicalized following events of a shoot out that took place in August 1992 between survivalist Randy
Weaver against federal agents, which had happened at a cabin located in Idaho, which belonged to
him. In December, in the year of 2000, McVeigh no longer wanted stays of execution but an execution
date instead, which was the 11th day of June 2001 by lethal injection in Terre Haute, Indiana,

Role Models Influence Us As Humans
Role models influence us as humans. We use our parents, community leaders, and even celebrities to
shape ourselves in a similar way to them. Media, like a role model, influences society. Also, media,
which society creates, is also the tool that shapes and moulds it. The theory that media (technology)
shapes society technological determinism is introduced by Canadian scholars Harold Innis and
Marshall. Though this is a technologically determinist way of looking at communication, the different
modes of communication (media) oral, literate, and electronic influence society through the way we
store knowledge, through the manner in which we share knowledge, and through the way we connect
with each other socially.
First, the oral mode of communication influenced society through the way we store knowledge. In an
oral society, particular members of society store important knowledge. For instance, in First Nations
communities in Canada the Elders store their history and tradition and share it with the future
generations. In the book Aboriginal Perspectives, the Kainai Board of Education, who educates the
Nitsitapi tribal members in Alberta, states that past generations depend upon Elders to pass along their
stories, and future generations depend on the young to learn and remember the Elder s knowledge
(KBE 50). This society depends heavily on its members to survive. As a result, separating the
members of this society can result in the loss of vital knowledge for example,

John Hill Westbrook was influential to Texas by being the first African American to play football in

Dementi A Clinical State Caused By Neurodegeneration Essay
Dementia is a clinical state caused by neurodegeneration and characterized by a loss of function in
cognitive domains and behavior. There are several different causes of dementia including Alzheimer s
disease (AD), vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
Hippocampal sclerosis of aging (HS aging) is prevalent in people of advance age, manifests with
distinct neuropathological properties, and can be present with or without other dementia causes and
vascular diseases [1].
Although HS aging is poorly understood, this phenomena may describe a proportion of non AD
dementia [2]. The prevalence of HS aging pathology ranges from 5 to 30% in older people [3 6]. HS
aging is generally diagnosed postmortem by the presence of TAR DNA binding protein 43 (TDP 43).
The clinical signs and symptoms of HS aging are similar to those of AD with amnestic memory
deficits [7, 8]. Because of the overlapping symptomology, HS aging is often clinically misdiagnosed
as AD [7 9]. AD is characterized by accumulation of amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles [10],
while HS aging is pathologically characterized by neuronal loss with gliosis in the subiculum and
Cornu Ammonis area 1 (CA1) region of the hippocampus, which can occur unilaterally or bilaterally
[6, 7].
Genetic risk factors for HS aging have been recently identified. Unlike AD, the apolipoprotein E4
(APOE4) genotype is not a risk factor for HS aging [11]. Potassium channel subfamily M regulatory

Elements Of Network Security Essay
Elements of Network Security
Introduction
The primary objective of a network security system is to, in a cost effective manner, balance
convenient access to legitimate users and inaccessibility to attackers. In a nutshell, the goal is to
prevent connectivity to anyone intending to cause harm to the network. The harm to which this paper
refers can come in the following forms:
1. Application level security threats, such as e mail viruses and attachments.
2. Threats to network infrastructure devices.
3. Theft of network connectivity services.
4. Unauthorized access from internal and external sources.
5. Denial of service attacks.
Using a proper network security strategy reduces and, in some cases, even avoids the listed harmful ...

But these tools alone do not provide adequate system security – a policy for system users, as
mentioned above, that is based on the identification and prioritization of threats and assumed threats
helps to maintain the network s health. The key feature of the policy is an ongoing training program
that teaches all users the importance and value of including safe system user practices in their daily
routine. Users are more likely to follow security practices if they understand the purpose of the
practice and the consequences when these practices aren t used. Added to the training is a physical and
electrical restriction of access to sensitive information and areas to users who have no business
purpose for using such access. To ensure that the preventive measures are functioning effectively,
regular audits of the security policy are performed. Log on IDs are checked to verify their validity, and
the users activities are monitored to determine if the policies are being followed.
Detection
The next element of a network security system is system violation detection, or intrusion detection.
This is an effort, should a system violator manage to breach the security of the network, to catch the
violation before any real damage can be done to the network. The most common approach to intrusion
detection is based on the belief that violations can be discovered by looking for abnormal system
usage, or scanning the system in

The Pros And Cons Of Cambodian Labour
When Angkorian society began, Paris and London were not much more than elaborate villages.
Europe was crawling with barbarians, and here were the Khmer engineering sophisticated irrigation
systems and constructing the biggest temple in the world. Kim Fay
Six centuries of the Khmer dynasty saw incomparable technological progress and prosperity.
However, since the dark ages, Cambodia has faced major problems especially with regard to labour.
With a population of approximately 16.1 million (2017), one of the major positives of the Cambodian
labour force lies in the numbers. Able bodied individuals, especially youngsters (who make up the
majority) are readily available for work. However, due to globalisation, the market and the economy
of Cambodia has become highly volatile and dynamic.
The major challenge that recruiters face while selecting Cambodians for jobs is that there is a serious
lack of technical and hard skills, soft skills, flexibility and innovative thinking. These shortages can be
attributed to the general lack of broader educational opportunities which further their employability.

Face is an individual s honour, reputation and standing in society. Since Cambodia is a hierarchical
society, an employee is likely to listen to and agree with the employer. Because of this, a Khmer
employee is likely to show understanding of instructions when there is none. They would bend over
backwards to cover up for another employee rather than pointing out their fault because being told
about their inadequacy and exhibiting anger is seen as a loss of face (Goldberg, 2012).
Work comes after family and social network on the priority list for most Cambodians (Darren
Conquest, British Chamber of Commerce Cambodia). This increases the likelihood of absenteeism in
the event of a personal problem without informing the employer. The recruitment process therefore

Mass Shooting Debate
In the last ten months, since the start of the year 2015, proximally 300 mass shootings have taken
place in the United States. This number is about 100 times the amount of mass shootings in Australia
since their gun restricting bill was passed in 1996. This raises the discussion whether or not changing
the American gun laws would help bring down the total of injuries and fatalities.
In 1791, the second amendment was added to the American constitution, stating that every US citizen
had the right to bear and own a gun. This is still the case in modern day America. In fact an 18 year
old cannot buy any alcohol, but does have the possibility to walk in a store and buy a gun, often
without any license or experience. It is likely that when this amendment is abolished the average
American citizen is more safe from mass shootings and gun violence.
According to Nelson Lund, professor at the George Mason University of Law, people would not feel
safe seeing that they would find it more difficult to protect their homes and family without the security
of a firearm. The right to self defense and to the means of defending oneself is a basic natural right
that grows out of the right to life. In addition to that Wayne LaPierre, Vice President of the National
Rifle Association, has claimed that: The only thing that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
New legislations would not help to reduce the number of shootings. The only people who would gun
down several people are the mentally ill and that concludes to the problem laying in the American
mental care system and its lack of good and thorough concern for people with psychological issues.
By changing the second amendment, Americans are generalized to gun obsessed people who cannot
own and be responsible with a firearm, when the truth could not be further

There is no differentiation among students who do or do not wear glasses and they either have little or
no income (associated with part time work). The research identified UTS undergraduate students value
products that are widely accessible, function properly (related to high quality) and allow them to
express their individuality. They look for low prices and brand familiarity and they prefer humour
advertising appeals.
The majority of target customers are brand switchers . Evidence of brand switchers was shown by the
majority of survey respondents who browse a variety of brands and styles when purchasing eyewear.
Additionally, price influences the eyewear choices more than any other factor. Although they prefer
familiar brands (which may appear as multi brand loyals activity), there was still a multitude of other
smaller eyewear retailers listed by target customers.
Further psychographic information on the target customer is described below:
 They want stylish frames to keep up with trends and won t become outdated quickly
 They wear sunglasses as a fashion accessory and not just for eye protection
 They are always looking to try smaller retailers which are perceived as new and modern
 They shop for eyewear online, but mainly from retailers with complementary physical stores
 They value companies who pay proper attention to their needs and make it easy to purchase

Analysis Of The Supervisor s Claims About Jeanette Landis
In order to confirm that the supervisor s claims about Jeanette Landis are true, I would need to discuss
her performance, in regards to her sales, with the sales department or the department that is in charge
of this certain information. Even though Mr. White accuses Jeanette of not reaching her sales goals, all
the facts and data need to be reviewed in order to determine if the information provided is accurate in
terms of her performance. The human resource director cannot assume anything, approach all
situations with caution, and be unbiased when determining the best action to take. When firing and
employee, the human resource manager should be consistent and thorough when investigating the
claims in order to prevent a discrimination lawsuit (Dunn, 1991, p. 26). Therefore, the sales records of
Jeanette Landis need to be reviewed in order to determine if the allegations present by Mr. White are
accurate. When taking with the supervisor of the sales department, I would want a copy of Jeanette s
sales as well as a few other employees sales records in order to accurately compare the sales data
information. The sales supervisor should give a timeline for the data, so that I could fully comprehend
her sales. For example, the supervisor needs to give me some insight into how many months the sales
records are for; whether it be two months or six months. This information is critical because Mr.
White claims that she has not meet her sales goal in six months, so I would

Speech On Organic Cosmetics
Every time you look into the mirror, you find the natural health of your skin deteriorating from
problems like aging, acne, blackheads, wrinkles, dark circles etc. The reason is not only the
physiological changes in the skin, due to aging, but the harsh chemicals that come in contact with our
skin. Certified organic cosmetics can provide safe, healthy solutions and benefits to one s skin.
Our skin, being the largest organ of the body, is very sensitive, very porous (over 70% seepage into
the body through the bloodstream), and when it comes in contact with harsh, toxic chemicals,
permanent damage can be caused. These chemicals are not always associated with the environment
that we live in or the food we eat but, many times, can be directly connected to the cosmetics that we
use. These cosmetics, used daily, can be really harsh on our skin as they contain many toxic chemicals
that cause permanent damage to the skin s health. Let s be clear. A toxic substance, otherwise known

Truly organic cosmetics produce the same colors and also last for the same period of time on your

before one purchases these cosmetic products, one should always check the label and find out whether
or not it really contains organic ingredients. Admittedly, some of these listed ingredients one would
need to be a scientist to understand. Do not let this deter you from researching the ingredient.
Remember the Cosmetic Industry will do anything to thwart you from discovering what is actually in
these products. In it is not in their best interest for you to change brands, so do your homework and
save being given a synthetic cosmetic, filled with poisons (toxicants), in the name of a natural and/or

Critique Of Rendition
Current Topic Critique II Rendition is a legal tool used by the U.S Government to transfer captured
individuals from one country to another without going through formal extradition procedures
(Rosenbach and Peritz, 2010). This process can be described as the governments terrorist catching
tool, and like most government tools has been the subject of controversy regarding civil liberties.
Catching Mir Aimal Kasi is described by Rosenbach and Peritz (2010) as the poster child for the good
that properly using rendition can do, while Jane Mayer (2008) shows what happens when it is used
with no accountability when she shares the story of Maher Arar. Extraordinary rendition is an even
more streamlined version of rendition, it is rendition that does not require consent from the other
nation involved. The use of rendition is among the most controversial pieces of U.S policy on the
global stage. Legal Rendition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The textbook example of this is the capture and rendition of Mir Aimal Kasi, who gunned down two
CIA employees outside the CIA headquarters building in 1993. Mir Aimal Kasi managed to flee the
scene and escape to Pakistan, where he would hide for several years (Rosenbach and Peritz, 2010).
Four years later a joint CIA and Pakistani operation would capture him and use the rendition process
to hastily get him back to the U.S to stand trial (Rosenbach and Peritz, 2010). When both governments
are afraid of keeping the detainee in the country where captured due to anti American sentiments in
the local population or various other reasons, the rendition process is used to quickly and quietly move
them to the U.S. By using rendition, instead of extradition, the host country can avoid any potential
political backlash by speeding up the process and not keeping the detainee any longer than they

Abstract Lower extremity amputation constitute high percentage of limb amputation which
significantly reduce the motion ability and quality of life of the amputees. Therefore the most
important goal in the design of prosthesis is to restore function of the lost limb. Most of the
commercially available ankle foot prostheses are passive and thus cause many gait pathologies for
below knee amputees, such as high metabolic demand, poor shock tolerance and asymmetric gait
patterns. Even though several powered prosthetic devices have been designed and proposed to
improve amputee walking experience by exploiting active elements, these designs yet suffer from
heavy and bulky actuators which is necessary to produce the power of propulsion. In this paper,

Business Plan Alignment: aligning plans of the use of the software with the organizations business

My Opinion Of The Initial Training For The Program
Your opinion of the initial training for the program: During the winter session, we had a course in
which is intend to get students accustomed to the software, we were given a basic tax assignment to
complete. This was a great way to get used to a new software that we have never experienced before.
It was a basic return with dependents, W2 s, Interest, dividends, etc. We worked with friends to figure
out this new software which was a big help, as one may know something you don t. Prior to the
assignment, our professor (clovey) give us a link to a Youtube video in which they also explain how to
get on the site and sign up for the software. These videos is a tutorial to help you complete the basic
tax returns, but for advance, it tends to be a little more complicated. As for the tax laws training, I
think our Professor s (Clovey/ Mohammad) did an excellent job in giving us an insight of IRS rules
we need to know. We were giving Publication 4012, which is an easy guide to figure out who is
qualified or not. We read about qualified dependent s, medicaid/medicare, EIC (Earned Income
Credit), itemization, standard deduction, Education Credit and much more about these rules and
exceptions. The class was held every other sunday (two time each month), and we would have to read
prior to class on new subject so when we go in, the topic that are being covered won t confuse us. The

only promoting these behaviors, and a stop should be put to them. By implementing stricter

Another strong bias displayed in the judicial system is the obvious bias in criminal sentencing in the

The problem usually with wrongful convictions is impulsivity. The fact that the person on trial is a
person of color drastically improves the chances of being convicted without going through all motives
of an investigation, which obviously are given to white people because of their lower chance of
getting convicted wrongly. This is a prominent bias, that a person of color is always guilty of their
crime. These findings show that people of color and white people are not being treated the same in the
eyes of the law. How is it possible to feel safe with all of these findings stacked up against you? It just
isn t feasible. Kenneth Rouse still remains on death row to this day.
Some possible solutions to this is simply more diversity in the judicial bench. America needs to have a
criminal justice system that represents the diversity of America. When people think of America, they
think of the many faces that occupy our country. Unfortunately, this is only embraced by some. It is
impossible for someone to completely understand all circumstances of someone s situation without
first experiencing similar or the same realities. A white person simply does not know what it is like to
be a black person in society. This goes along with the concept of privilege, something everyone has in
different amounts, and something in which few people will acknowledge. This goes along with
gender, and sexuality. A center for American

Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Essay
Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, one of the most common liver disorders, can have several causes,
such as congenital, pharmaceutical, or other miscellaneous sources, but the most clinically important
etiology is metabolic disorder. Metabolic Disorder, also known as syndrome X, is a collection of
symptoms that occur in clusters, and cause a patient to have a higher risk of heart disease, stroke, and
diabetes. Metabolic syndrome has several hallmark signs. Many of these conditions can occur alone,
or secondary to another condition and do not individually point to metabolic syndrome. These
characteristic signs are a large waist circumference, high triglyceride levels, reduced HDL cholesterol,

The basic mechanism of steatosis is that insulin resistance causes increased lipid deposition in the
hepatocytes of the liver. This abnormal amount of fat causes cell death. When a hepatocyte undergoes
lysis, liver enzymes such as aminotransferases are released. This elevation of liver enzymes in the
bloodstream is a major sign of steatosis since most patients are asymptomatic at this stage. It is
important, however, to rule out the many causes of cell death that would have the same presentation.
As discussed in the research by Birkenfeld, the accumulation of fatty deposits decreases the metabolic
capacity of the liver, and causes inflammation of the hepatic tissue, causing hepatomegaly. This
deposit of triglycerides in the liver instead of the adipose tissue is thought to be caused by altered
levels of cellular products involved in the uptake of fatty acids. While the concentrations of enzyme
lipoprotein lipase, fatty acid transport proteins, and FAT/CD36 are typically high enough in the muscle
to cause lipid uptake into adipose tissue, it is inhibited in insulin resistant NAFLD patients. Insulin
plays a key role in the action of lipoprotein lipase. Without insulin the normal uptake of lipids to
adipose decreases, and their uptake in the liver increases. This is shown by the disproportionally high
level of lipoprotein lipase, fatty acid transport proteins, and FAT/CD36 in the liver to the bodily
adipose tissue. (3) Steatosis is the first stage of NAFLD

Why Is Frederick The Great Effective
Frederick II or Frederick the Great was a monarch of Prussia that reigned from 1740 to 1786. Another
monarch which reigned during Frederick the Great s reign was Maria Theresa, of the Hapsburg family,
who reigned from 1740 to 1780 over Austria. She came into power because her father, Charles VI,
created a document called the Pragmatic Sanction. The Pragmatic Sanction is a document that other
monarchs signed to allow Maria Theresa to inherit the Hapsburg land. However after Charles died, not
all the countries agreed with the Pragmatic Sanction. This lead to conflict between Prussia and
Austria. Because of this conflict, historians debate which ruler was more effective and powerful.
Frederick the Great is a more effective and powerful ruler because he won several wars against
Austria, he had a stronger alliance with Russia, improved Prussia s domestic affairs, and succeeded in

succeeded in foreign affairs by creating the German League of Princes and forced the Holy Roman

The Stanford Prison Experiment And Jonestown
Follow the Leader Human beings perform actions that are often deemed illogical or detrimental. The
activities are regularly enforced, encouraged, and compounded by others. The actions can be related to
categories such as authority pressure, peer pressure, and situational pressure. In looking at articles like
The Stanford Prison Experiment and Jonestown , the categories above can be confirmed. The articles
show how people conform to the circumstances that surround them and provide little or no objection
to the situation. The use of a tobacco product is a prime example of a detrimental action that people
participate in due to the pressures placed on them or innuendos that are implied through authority,
peers, or situations. Authoritative pressure could be defined as a type of coercion that is imposed by an
individual in a supervisory or authoritarian role within a workplace or industry. Similar to the
experiment that Mills discusses Stanley Milgram, PhD conducting in More shocking results: New
research replicates Milgram s findings , supervisors replace teachers and new employees replicate
students. In my experience, a large portion of men employed on construction sites participate in the
use of some form of tobacco, most notably, chewing tobacco. Construction workers often begin their
initial employment in the industry as general laborers or construction helpers. The general progression
for advancement leads each employee to a more specialized and skilled position,

The Physiological Comprehension Of Immune Responses
Introduction: In today s society, molecular understanding of functions, like interleukin 2, has
contributed to the physiological comprehension of immune responses in life forms. Interleukin 2 is a
crucial factor in the fight against HIV/AIDS and other immunosuppressant diseases. It binds itself to T
cell receptors which induce naive T cell proliferation and differentiation. This contributes to a plethora
of different cells such as cytotoxic T cells, natural kill cells, and LAK cells, which protect life forms
against infections and/or viruses. In 1993, an immunological analysis was performed by Sadlack and
his colleagues. Knockout mice were used, meaning that their IL 2 gene was removed. This resulted in
an increased amount of T and B cell counts relative to the wild type mice. These researchers thus
suggested that it is an inflammatory regulator. Overall when IL 2 is not present, unregulated
proliferation of T cells increase as mice reach their terminal stage of illness. Now, interleukin 2 is used
in HIV therapies, which helps increase and regulate T cell reactions in immune compromised patients.
Data has been shown that IL 2 increases proliferation and survival of CD4+ T cells in these patients.

Auschwitz was also the first to introduce Gas Vans. These were used to put Jews in them and then put

camp look comely in order to blind the world from the evil that was taking place just inside the gates
of the camps. Upon arrival at the camp the prisoners would see a railroad station, but one thing they
didn t know is that it was fake. The railroad station was just a disguise to make you feel like
everything was normal, and even the clock itself was fake, it was painted on the wall to represent how

Response To The Blank Page
Kathrine Christy
Professor Anne Vial
Women in Literature
11 September 2015
Unit 1 Response: On Storytelling We all commonly assume that we act freely, that we make our own
decisions without regard to the opinions of those around us. We all like to think we create our own
stories, and choose the way we tell them. However, many of us are probably at least tempted to
wonder if this a thing completely within our control, how much of it is, and how we can resist
attempts of others to write our stories for us, regardless of what we actually desire. Particularly when
it comes to women, the society around us is very sure of what it wants our stories to be, and who
should tell them and when. This is, of course, a process that begins early. As Foss, ... Show more

It is, of course, a story about storytelling, particularly the oral story telling through which humans
have passed down most of our stories for most of our history. Women in particular, even after the
advent of mass literacy, were barred for much of our history from education (and therefore the ability
to read), have been historically the torch bearers of oral culture. After all, garrulousness and gossip are
still stereotypes almost exclusively attributed to women. Of course an anti woman society sees these
qualities as bad things, rather than a means of shaping our reality and connecting to the people around
us, of forming and maintaining communities. The Blank Page is another tale in which a woman tries
to write her own story, despite the considerable pressures of royal life encroaching in upon her. Her
blank page represents the willingness of many women to resist the attempts to tell or change their
stories. Silence will speak says the old woman. Surely this nameless princess was shunned by some
and scorned by others, those who tried to use such disapproval to make her change her story. I myself
find comfort in the telling of her story by this mysterious old woman, comfort in the idea that stories
of women inimical to what men and society have to say about us can be preserved, if only through
word of mouth, by other

Blue Skies Irving Berlin Meaning
Blue Skies was one of the songs written by Irving Berlin months after the birth of his first child,
daughter Mary Ellin, in 1926. This piece came during a time of transition in Berlin s life, and the song
itself has transcend many centuries, adapting to the style of each time. It is important to explore the
differences between the periodical versions of Blue Skies ; however, the underlying message of the
song remains constant throughout time. The lyrics of Irving Berlin s Blue Skies plays with the
contrasting meanings behind the word blue, along with switching tonalities, allowing the song to
portray a hopeful outlook toward the future, while it s depressing mood brings this hope back to
reality.

Blue Skies started its rise to popularity in the 1926 musical Betsy, which was originally a Rodgers and

Skies was written into the second act. The song s introduction was made even more memorable by the
fact that Ms. Baker forgot the lyrics, and Irving Berlin himself sang them from the front row.

The Failure Of The Louisiana Purchase
The Louisiana Purchase, was a purchase made between Thomas Jefferson and Napoleon Bonaparte for
the middle section of the of modern day U.S. This section was originally owned by the French who
sold it to Spain who made an alliance with France and gave it back. France, financially struggling,
with british fleets headed towards the border, decided to sell approximately 530,000,000 acres of land
west of the Mississippi River for $15 million( about 4 cents an acre).
This purchase set the course of the establishment of the United States of America. If this purchase had
not been made America could possibly be only the east coast and the west coast, France could control
those 827,00 square miles to this day, which is larger than France today. They would also be in control

Rhetorical Devices In The Glass Castle
Adversity, unfavorable fortune or fate; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress.
Adversity is something everyone encounters at some juncture in their life. Many people concede in the
face of adversity, while many people persevere through the struggles they face daily. Jennette Walls
wrote The Glass Castle, a memoir that unmasked the dark mysteries of The Walls Family s onerous
life. She continuously proves that no one s background they can make it through the adversity in their
lives. Jeannette captivates the readers by using rhetorical devices. She utilizes symbolism so she can
express the importance of certain objects in her life, imagery to include emotion and enthusiasm, and
irony to add a little humor to the book.
Objects can prove to be the cause of some of the most impactful features or events in someone s life.

The dynamic nature of the practice of pharmacy requires pharmacists to be aware of the need for

After my freshmen year, I was so inspired by how much help I got from the tutors that I decided to
tutor calculus. I was inspired because I knew how tough it was to adjust to a new school system when
one is swamped with many assignments. Although I had gone through a couple of training sessions at
the beginning of the semester, I didn t know what to expect for my first tutoring session. My first
session was with a girl named Jamie. Jamie was having problems solving logarithmic equations. I
started by taking a look at her notes from class and it seemed like the professor went over a few
problems in class. As a result, Jamie was having difficulty with solving questions unlike what had
been solved in class. These were problems I had gone through last year so I knew how to explain the
concept to her. I started by asking her questions so she could think through the questions. She
struggled through answering the questions but as time went on she gained more confidence and was
able to work through the problem herself. I was so proud of her.

The Remembrance Of A Grandmother
In Remembrance OF A Grandmother Grandparents are the best of friend and gentle person you will

birthdays. They hoped that one day they will see their granddaughters grow up and change the world.
In the long run, their life turned upside down, and they never get to see that day comes to pass. One
day they are here and then they are gone, leaving you behind wondering what you could have done to
keep them longer. First of all, my great grandmother Akosua, was not just an ordinary woman. She

was younger, she traveled around the world, serving her famous cuisine to workers in isolated places.
There were any cars during those day so she walked by foot crossing boarder to boarder entering into
other lands. She would take two week trip to the other native land and sell food to the people who
were living or working there. Sometimes when her food is finished, she would stay longer, and cook
for them. She was always trying new things and going beyond her limit. She got the kindness of heart

original files are saved onto the computer or network file server. The administrator sets up the
schedule for periodic backups to reduce the amount of information lost if an incident strikes. One
concern that comes with backups is the price and space of the server. With continuing information
being created daily, the storage will be used faster than ever until there is no more.
Usage of Information Getting the maximum value from stored information can be hard to do. In the
creation phase we have placed the documents in the proper location for use. If we are not getting the
use out of the information then why do we have it? With compliance toward data management
increasing the use of documents created is becoming a problem. When a company has so much digital

debilitating expensive and may turn up difficult to explain documents or emails that the company had
no obligation to save prior to the litigation. Once litigation is foreseeable, disposing of potentially

The Patterns Of Individuals Past Events Essay
To explore and probe the patterns of individuals past events, my research will consist of interviewing
twenty urban residents in the city of Oakland. I would listen to individual s experiences and stories
about the discrimination these individuals have faced. From the interviews and surveys, I will focus on
three primary themes, which are social differences, racial discrimination, and health disparities.
Anticipating from these abstract principles contributes to the following idea on: the differences placed
upon discrimination amongst people of darker skin tone, and the serious health effects of these African
American people.
To many, health disparities amongst different races may appear like an extraneous matter. But, it has
come to seriously affect the lives of African Americans. Williams (MMWR 2005, Williams 1995)
noted that African Americans suffer a higher rate of health related issues. Today, African Americans
still bear a disproportionate burden in disease morbidity, mortality, disability, and injury (MMWR
2005, Williams 1995). The shocking statement adds to the health issues they suffer: heart disease,
diabetes, and obesity, which is a critical factor for African Americans. Additional findings from
(Krieger, Rowley, Herman, Avery, Phillips 1993) address how other factors such as: ones
socioeconomic status (SES), race, and gender, concludes to the differences of health risks for
individuals (Krieger, Rowley, Herman, Avery, Phillips, 1993). The differences of a

The Island And The Road Comparison
The two dystopian texts, The Road is written by Cormac McCarthy and The Island directed by
Michael Bay are great examples of a dystopian world. The Road is a post apocalyptic novel where a
father and son have nothing but the dirty clothes on their backs, a pistol and a cart filled with
scavenged items. Their destination, the coast, although they don t know if anything awaits them there.
The Island is an advanced world where clones of real people are made in order to help their clients
live longer. These two mediums are fairly similar once you go in depth. The two works, The Road and
The Island have common dystopian characteristics which are the use of brute force, alienation and
dehumanization of individuals which is reflected in terms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The man fell back instantly and lay with blood bubbling from the hole in his forehead. The boy was
lying in his lap with no expression on his face at all (McCarthy, pg. 66). In other words, the boy was
so shocked by the situation he was in; this caused him to change his attitude towards strangers. In the
same manner The Island has important character development that causes the protagonists to change
their behaviours. For instance, when Jordan Two Delta and Lincoln Six Echo escaped and went to
Tom Lincoln s house. In this scene there was an altercation that resulted in the client Tom Lincoln
dying, which was a great example of how the characters developed. After this scene the protagonist
realized how careless and willing they were to hurt others in order to get the clones back to the
facility. The scene allowed the protagonist Lincoln Six Echo to develop and take extra precautions to
maintain safety. Six Echo would always be on his toes; look back every so often, and though through
his plans. This leads into the theme that is related to brute force which is that people will do anything
to survive.
The theme that is comparable to this dystopian characteristic is that individuals will do whatever they
can to survive. In the movie the actor Steve Buscemi who is Lincoln s friend says this to

Who Is The Protagonist In The Swimmer
Winning the National Book Award in 1958 for his debut novel The Wapshot Chronicle, John Cheever
was highly acclaimed as a novelist, but he may be best remembered for his array of short stories. In
the words of the acclaimed novelist Philip Roth, Cheever was an enchanted realist who had as rich and
distinctive [voice] as any of the leading voices of postwar American literature. This voice was in full
display Cheever s stories, especially in The Swimmer, which is about a man named Neddy Merrill
who embarks on a voyage to swim across the whole county in the fictionalized Bullet Park. In this

Albeit he may not not in his prime anymore, but he still has the glamorous appearance and attitude, as
it were, of someone much younger. In order to think of oneself as a legendary figure, as Neddy does,
one then becomes incredibly considered with one s image and physical stature; therefore, it is
reasonable to assume that due to his slenderness of youth is partly to explain Neddy s heightened
image of himself.
Additionally, Neddy s priorities and interests are quite simple, for he seems to only enjoy being
around others during social gatherings and pool parties, along with, of course, swimming and
drinking. This lack of responsibility (or lack to accept responsibility over pleasure) is another reason
why Neddy is living in a reality that no longer exists. He has a wife named Lucinda and four beautiful
daughters (whose names are never mentioned), but beyond that not much is known about Neddy s
family, nor his attitudes towards his family. There is no mention whether Neddy is happily married
with Lucinda or if he is involved, or even cares, with the lives of his daughters. However, to say that
he does not love his wife and daughters may be a reach; he does name his exploration the Lucinda
River after his wife, and he does bring up his daughter a few times in the story, which could mean that
he thinks about them. Nonetheless, the lack of detail about his family

Both, Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were discovered to belong to a right wing based survivalist group located in Michigan. ON the *the of August, Michael Fortier, who had knowledge of McVeigh s plan concerning the bombing Of the Oklahoma Federal Building, agreed to give testimony against both Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols in exchange for a lighter jail sentence. Both Timothy McVeigh along with Terry Nichols had received indictments on murder charges as well as using explosives in an unlawful manner. McVeigh s ideology changed from hating governments that were foreign communists to a lack of trust in the United States government with Bill Clinton being the President during that time frame. • 3. Role Models Influence Us As Humans Role models influence us as humans. We use our parents, community leaders, and even celebrities to shape ourselves in a similar way to them. Media, like a role model, influences society. Also, media, which society creates, is also the tool that shapes and moulds it. The theory that media (technology) shapes society technological determinism is introduced by Canadian scholars Harold Innis and Marshall. Though this is a technologically determinist way of looking at communication, the different modes of communication (media) oral, literate, and electronic influence society through the way we store knowledge, through the manner in which we share knowledge, and through the way we connect with each other socially. First, the oral mode of communication influenced society through the way we store knowledge. In an oral society, particular members of society store important knowledge. For instance, in First Nations communities in Canada the Elders store their history and tradition and share it with the future generations. In the book Aboriginal Perspectives, the Kainai Board of Education, who educates the Nitsitapi tribal members in Alberta, states that past generations depend upon Elders to pass along their stories, and future generations depend on the young to learn and remember the Elder s knowledge (KBE 50). This society depends heavily on its members to survive. As a result, separating the members of this society can result in the loss of vital knowledge for example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Dementi A Clinical State Caused By Neurodegeneration Essay Dementia is a clinical state caused by neurodegeneration and characterized by a loss of function in cognitive domains and behavior. There are several different causes of dementia including Alzheimer s disease (AD), vascular dementia, dementia with Lewy bodies, and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Hippocampal sclerosis of aging (HS aging) is prevalent in people of advance age, manifests with distinct neuropathological properties, and can be present with or without other dementia causes and vascular diseases [1]. Although HS aging is poorly understood, this phenomena may describe a proportion of non AD dementia [2]. The prevalence of HS aging pathology ranges from 5 to 30% in older people [3 6]. HS aging is generally diagnosed postmortem by the presence of TAR DNA binding protein 43 (TDP 43). The clinical signs and symptoms of HS aging are similar to those of AD with amnestic memory deficits [7, 8]. Because of the overlapping symptomology, HS aging is often clinically misdiagnosed as AD [7 9]. AD is characterized by accumulation of amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles [10], while HS aging is pathologically characterized by neuronal loss with gliosis in the subiculum and Cornu Ammonis area 1 (CA1) region of the hippocampus, which can occur unilaterally or bilaterally [6, 7]. Genetic risk factors for HS aging have been recently identified. Unlike AD, the apolipoprotein E4 (APOE4) genotype is not a risk factor for HS aging [11]. Potassium channel subfamily M regulatory ... Elements Of Network Security Essay Elements of Network Security Introduction The primary objective of a network security system is to, in a cost effective manner, balance convenient access to legitimate users and inaccessibility to attackers. In a nutshell, the goal is to prevent connectivity to anyone intending to cause harm to the network. The harm to which this paper refers can come in the following forms: 1. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But these tools alone do not provide adequate system security – a policy for system users, as mentioned above, that is based on the identification and prioritization of threats and assumed threats helps to maintain the network s health. The key feature of the policy is an ongoing training program that teaches all users the importance and value of including safe system user practices in their daily routine. Users are more likely to follow security practices if they understand the purpose of the practice and the consequences when these practices aren t used. Added to the training is a physical and electrical restriction of access to sensitive information and areas to users who have no business purpose for using such access. To ensure that the preventive measures are functioning effectively, regular audits of the security policy are performed. Log on IDs are checked to verify their validity, and the users activities are monitored to determine if the policies are being followed. Detection The next element of a network security system is system violation detection, or intrusion detection. This is an effort, should a system violator manage to breach the security of the network, to catch the violation before any real damage can be done to the network. The most common approach to intrusion detection is based on the belief that violations can be discovered by looking for abnormal system usage, or scanning the system in ... • 7. The Pros And Cons Of Cambodian Labour When Angkorian society began, Paris and London were not much more than elaborate villages. Europe was crawling with barbarians, and here were the Khmer engineering sophisticated irrigation systems and constructing the biggest temple in the world. Kim Fay Six centuries of the Khmer dynasty saw incomparable technological progress and prosperity. However, since the dark ages, Cambodia has faced major problems especially with regard to labour. With a population of approximately 16.1 million (2017), one of the major positives of the Cambodian labour force lies in the numbers. Able bodied individuals, especially youngsters (who make up the majority) are readily available for work. • 8. Mass Shooting Debate In the last ten months, since the start of the year 2015, proximally 300 mass shootings have taken place in the United States. This number is about 100 times the amount of mass shootings in Australia since their gun restricting bill was passed in 1996. This raises the discussion whether or not changing the American gun laws would help bring down the total of injuries and fatalities. In 1791, the second amendment was added to the American constitution, stating that every US citizen had the right to bear and own a gun. This is still the case in modern day America. In fact an 18 year old cannot buy any alcohol, but does have the possibility to walk in a store and buy a gun, often without any license or experience. It is likely that when this amendment is abolished the average American citizen is more safe from mass shootings and gun violence. According to Nelson Lund, professor at the George Mason University of Law, people would not feel safe seeing that they would find it more difficult to protect their homes and family without the security of a firearm. Critique Of Rendition Current Topic Critique II Rendition is a legal tool used by the U.S Government to transfer captured individuals from one country to another without going through formal extradition procedures (Rosenbach and Peritz, 2010). This process can be described as the governments terrorist catching tool, and like most government tools has been the subject of controversy regarding civil liberties. Catching Mir Aimal Kasi is described by Rosenbach and Peritz (2010) as the poster child for the good that properly using rendition can do, while Jane Mayer (2008) shows what happens when it is used with no accountability when she shares the story of Maher Arar. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The basic mechanism of steatosis is that insulin resistance causes increased lipid deposition in the hepatocytes of the liver. This abnormal amount of fat causes cell death. When a hepatocyte undergoes lysis, liver enzymes such as aminotransferases are released. This elevation of liver enzymes in the bloodstream is a major sign of steatosis since most patients are asymptomatic at this stage. It is important, however, to rule out the many causes of cell death that would have the same presentation. As discussed in the research by Birkenfeld, the accumulation of fatty deposits decreases the metabolic capacity of the liver, and causes inflammation of the hepatic tissue, causing hepatomegaly. This deposit of triglycerides in the liver instead of the adipose tissue is thought to be caused by altered levels of cellular products involved in the uptake of fatty acids. While the concentrations of enzyme lipoprotein lipase, fatty acid transport proteins, and FAT/CD36 are typically high enough in the muscle to cause lipid uptake into adipose tissue, it is inhibited in insulin resistant NAFLD patients. Insulin plays a key role in the action of lipoprotein lipase. Without insulin the normal uptake of lipids to adipose decreases, and their uptake in the liver increases. This is shown by the disproportionally high level of lipoprotein lipase, fatty acid transport proteins, and FAT/CD36 in the liver to the bodily adipose tissue. Another monarch which reigned during Frederick the Great s reign was Maria Theresa, of the Hapsburg family, who reigned from 1740 to 1780 over Austria. She came into power because her father, Charles VI, created a document called the Pragmatic Sanction. The Pragmatic Sanction is a document that other monarchs signed to allow Maria Theresa to inherit the Hapsburg land. However after Charles died, not all the countries agreed with the Pragmatic Sanction. This lead to conflict between Prussia and Austria. The Physiological Comprehension Of Immune Responses Introduction: In today s society, molecular understanding of functions, like interleukin 2, has contributed to the physiological comprehension of immune responses in life forms. Interleukin 2 is a crucial factor in the fight against HIV/AIDS and other immunosuppressant diseases. It binds itself to T cell receptors which induce naive T cell proliferation and differentiation. This contributes to a plethora of different cells such as cytotoxic T cells, natural kill cells, and LAK cells, which protect life forms against infections and/or viruses. In 1993, an immunological analysis was performed by Sadlack and his colleagues. Knockout mice were used, meaning that their IL 2 gene was removed. This resulted in an increased amount of T and B cell counts relative to the wild type mice. These researchers thus suggested that it is an inflammatory regulator. Overall when IL 2 is not present, unregulated proliferation of T cells increase as mice reach their terminal stage of illness. Now, interleukin 2 is used in HIV therapies, which helps increase and regulate T cell reactions in immune compromised patients. Data has been shown that IL 2 increases proliferation and survival of CD4+ T cells in these patients. The Failure Of The Louisiana Purchase The Louisiana Purchase, was a purchase made between Thomas Jefferson and Napoleon Bonaparte for the middle section of the of modern day U.S. This section was originally owned by the French who sold it to Spain who made an alliance with France and gave it back. France, financially struggling, with british fleets headed towards the border, decided to sell approximately 530,000,000 acres of land west of the Mississippi River for $15 million( about 4 cents an acre). This purchase set the course of the establishment of the United States of America. If this purchase had not been made America could possibly be only the east coast and the west coast, France could control those 827,00 square miles to this day, which is larger than France today. • 29. Rhetorical Devices In The Glass Castle Adversity, unfavorable fortune or fate; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress. Adversity is something everyone encounters at some juncture in their life. Many people concede in the face of adversity, while many people persevere through the struggles they face daily. Jennette Walls wrote The Glass Castle, a memoir that unmasked the dark mysteries of The Walls Family s onerous life. She continuously proves that no one s background they can make it through the adversity in their lives. Jeannette captivates the readers by using rhetorical devices. She utilizes symbolism so she can express the importance of certain objects in her life, imagery to include emotion and enthusiasm, and irony to add a little humor to the book. Objects can prove to be the cause of some of the most impactful features or events in someone s life. Once he finished work on the Prospector and we struck it rich, he d start work on our Glass Castle. (Walls 25). The Prospector was a symbol of aspiration, she wanted to have a more exciting and fulfilling life. Although it also represents lies and distrustfulness because her father never actually worked on the Prospector. Instead, he went out and got drunk. The Glass Castle is quite impactful in Jeannette s life, it gave her hope for a better life. However it s not just that, it s confidence in her father. That he will provide for her and create a good life for her, despite the drinking and other horrible habits he has developed. Jeannette ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My First Professional Reflection Paper My First Professional Reflection Among the numerous School of Pharmacy outcomes, the one I have chosen to evaluate my progress is in Personal Management and Leadership. The dynamic nature of the practice of pharmacy requires pharmacists to be aware of the need for personal management. There is a brighter future for pharmacy if pharmacists can manage their time, set goals, and have priorities. They must also be able to plan well in order to develop a health care regimen for patients. When I started college two years ago, I had a tough time with time management because the workload was unexpected. I was overwhelmed and I usually had little time to study. It is necessary for pharmacists to be leaders by collaborating and supporting one another to achieve a common goal. They must be able to respect one another s opinion and empower one another. After my freshmen year, I was so inspired by how much help I got from the tutors that I decided to tutor calculus. I was inspired because I knew how tough it was to adjust to a new school system when one is swamped with many assignments. Although I had gone through a couple of training sessions at the beginning of the semester, I didn t know what to expect for my first tutoring session. My first session was with a girl named Jamie. Jamie was having problems solving logarithmic equations. I started by taking a look at her notes from class and it seemed like the professor went over a few problems in class. As a result, Jamie was having difficulty with solving questions unlike what had been solved in class. These were problems I had gone through last year so I knew how to explain the concept to her. I started by asking her questions so she could think through the questions. She struggled through answering the questions but as time went on she gained more confidence and was able to work through the problem herself. I was so proud of her. I enjoyed a Calculus study hall that met every Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm. This study session was my best ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Remembrance Of A Grandmother In Remembrance OF A Grandmother Grandparents are the best of friend and gentle person you will ever meet. They love and care about their granddaughters very much. Children enjoy spending time with their grandparents because they are full of stories and always seem to have candy or cookie with them. Children are always excited about their grandparents visitation especially on holidays and birthdays. They hoped that one day they will see their granddaughters grow up and change the world. In the long run, their life turned upside down, and they never get to see that day comes to pass. One day they are here and then they are gone, leaving you behind wondering what you could have done to keep them longer. First of all, my great grandmother Akosua, was not just an ordinary woman. She was talented, adventurous, friendly and joyful person you will ever meet. When grandmother Akosua was younger, she traveled around the world, serving her famous cuisine to workers in isolated places. There were any cars during those day so she walked by foot crossing boarder to boarder entering into other lands. She would take two week trip to the other native land and sell food to the people who were living or working there. Sometimes when her food is finished, she would stay longer, and cook for them. She was always trying new things and going beyond her limit. She got the kindness of heart that loves giving and helping people anyway she could. When people come to her in the market where she ... • 32. Computer Or Network File Server original files are saved onto the computer or network file server. The administrator sets up the schedule for periodic backups to reduce the amount of information lost if an incident strikes. One concern that comes with backups is the price and space of the server. With continuing information being created daily, the storage will be used faster than ever until there is no more. Usage of Information Getting the maximum value from stored information can be hard to do. In the creation phase we have placed the documents in the proper location for use. If we are not getting the use out of the information then why do we have it? With compliance toward data management increasing the use of documents created is becoming a problem. When a company has so much digital information that not used, it becomes a flood of digital waste. Electronic discovery can be a debilitating expensive and may turn up difficult to explain documents or emails that the company had no obligation to save prior to the litigation. Once litigation is foreseeable, disposing of potentially relevant data can result in court ordered sanctions or even a default judgement (Reuters, 2016). Use of documents is a problem itself, the document needs to be a legalized use of data. If the documents being used are not permitted then there could be regulatory or contractually constraints. While using the information you must monitor who is gaining access to the information as well. The institution must implement controls ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Patterns Of Individuals Past Events Essay To explore and probe the patterns of individuals past events, my research will consist of interviewing twenty urban residents in the city of Oakland. I would listen to individual s experiences and stories about the discrimination these individuals have faced. From the interviews and surveys, I will focus on three primary themes, which are social differences, racial discrimination, and health disparities. Anticipating from these abstract principles contributes to the following idea on: the differences placed upon discrimination amongst people of darker skin tone, and the serious health effects of these African American people. To many, health disparities amongst different races may appear like an extraneous matter. But, it has come to seriously affect the lives of African Americans. Williams (MMWR 2005, Williams 1995) noted that African Americans suffer a higher rate of health related issues. Today, African Americans still bear a disproportionate burden in disease morbidity, mortality, disability, and injury (MMWR 2005, Williams 1995). The shocking statement adds to the health issues they suffer: heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, which is a critical factor for African Americans. Additional findings from (Krieger, Rowley, Herman, Avery, Phillips 1993) address how other factors such as: ones socioeconomic status (SES), race, and gender, concludes to the differences of health risks for individuals (Krieger, Rowley, Herman, Avery, Phillips, 1993). • 34. The Island And The Road Comparison The two dystopian texts, The Road is written by Cormac McCarthy and The Island directed by Michael Bay are great examples of a dystopian world. The Road is a post apocalyptic novel where a father and son have nothing but the dirty clothes on their backs, a pistol and a cart filled with scavenged items. Their destination, the coast, although they don t know if anything awaits them there. The Island is an advanced world where clones of real people are made in order to help their clients live longer. These two mediums are fairly similar once you go in depth. The two works, The Road and The Island have common dystopian characteristics which are the use of brute force, alienation and dehumanization of individuals which is reflected in terms ... The boy was lying in his lap with no expression on his face at all (McCarthy, pg. 66). In other words, the boy was so shocked by the situation he was in; this caused him to change his attitude towards strangers. In the same manner The Island has important character development that causes the protagonists to change their behaviours. For instance, when Jordan Two Delta and Lincoln Six Echo escaped and went to Tom Lincoln s house. In this scene there was an altercation that resulted in the client Tom Lincoln dying, which was a great example of how the characters developed. After this scene the protagonist realized how careless and willing they were to hurt others in order to get the clones back to the facility. The scene allowed the protagonist Lincoln Six Echo to develop and take extra precautions to maintain safety. Six Echo would always be on his toes; look back every so often, and though through his plans. This leads into the theme that is related to brute force which is that people will do anything to survive. The theme that is comparable to this dystopian characteristic is that individuals will do whatever they can to survive. In the movie the actor Steve Buscemi who is Lincoln s friend says this to ... • 35. Who Is The Protagonist In The Swimmer Winning the National Book Award in 1958 for his debut novel The Wapshot Chronicle, John Cheever was highly acclaimed as a novelist, but he may be best remembered for his array of short stories. In the words of the acclaimed novelist Philip Roth, Cheever was an enchanted realist who had as rich and distinctive [voice] as any of the leading voices of postwar American literature. This voice was in full display Cheever s stories, especially in The Swimmer, which is about a man named Neddy Merrill who embarks on a voyage to swim across the whole county in the fictionalized Bullet Park. In this upper middle class suburbia, pool parties are the custom and drinking is a popular pastime, especially for the story s protagonist. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Albeit he may not not in his prime anymore, but he still has the glamorous appearance and attitude, as it were, of someone much younger. In order to think of oneself as a legendary figure, as Neddy does, one then becomes incredibly considered with one s image and physical stature; therefore, it is reasonable to assume that due to his slenderness of youth is partly to explain Neddy s heightened image of himself. Additionally, Neddy s priorities and interests are quite simple, for he seems to only enjoy being around others during social gatherings and pool parties, along with, of course, swimming and drinking. This lack of responsibility (or lack to accept responsibility over pleasure) is another reason why Neddy is living in a reality that no longer exists. He has a wife named Lucinda and four beautiful daughters (whose names are never mentioned), but beyond that not much is known about Neddy s family, nor his attitudes towards his family. There is no mention whether Neddy is happily married with Lucinda or if he is involved, or even cares, with the lives of his daughters. However, to say that he does not love his wife and daughters may be a reach; he does name his exploration the Lucinda River after his wife, and he does bring up his daughter a few times in the story, which could mean that he thinks about them. Nonetheless, the lack of detail about his family ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
